Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Weekend Review, Ben Ferguson
- 0:05Speaker 2: with you, and here are some big stories you may
- 0:07Speaker 2: have missed that we've been talking about recently. First up,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Joe Biden's decline was nothing but a full blown cover up.
- 0:16Speaker 2: We're talking about that cognitive decline and guess what the
- 0:20Speaker 2: media was in on it. We'll explain exactly just how
- 0:23Speaker 2: corrupt the media was and now how they're being held accountable. Also,
- 0:28Speaker 2: in a big move, the American Bar Association is finally
- 0:31Speaker 2: going to have no role in judicial nominations. Why well, corruption,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and we'll explain that as well. And finally, Kamala Harris
- 0:40Speaker 2: has written a book explaining how Trump is a threat
- 0:44Speaker 2: to democracy and where did she do it? On a
- 0:47Speaker 2: show that's been canceled, we'll have the highlights of what
- 0:51Speaker 2: she had to say. It's the Weekend Review and it
- 0:53Speaker 2: starts right now, Senator. It is a very big week
- 0:58Speaker 2: for putting out books that are full of craft.
- 1:00Speaker 3: It truly is stunning. So Jake Tapper from CNN has
- 1:05Speaker 3: a book along with Alex Thompson from Axios. The book
- 1:09Speaker 3: is entitled Original Sin, President Biden's Decline, Its cover Up
- 1:14Speaker 3: and his disastrous choice to run again. And when you
- 1:18Speaker 3: talk about full of crap, I really don't think you're
- 1:21Speaker 3: being fair to crap like this is. This is like
- 1:25Speaker 3: a book Arsonist discovers a fire he started. This is
- 1:30Speaker 3: like a book Tony Montana, the drug dealer says cocaine
- 1:35Speaker 3: is bad for you. Like, yes, Jake, there was a
- 1:38Speaker 3: cover up, an absolute, complete, total cover up. It was knowing,
- 1:44Speaker 3: it was deliberate, and you did it. You, Jake Tapper
- 1:49Speaker 3: and CNN were twenty four to seven engage in the
- 1:53Speaker 3: cover up. You knew about his mental decline, and you
- 1:56Speaker 3: refuse to tell anybody.
- 1:58Speaker 2: All Right, So let's go back to this lie that
- 2:03Speaker 2: I think the part that boys in mind the most
- 2:05Speaker 2: is the fact that Tapper is actually probably gonna get
- 2:07Speaker 2: the best seller out of this. Everyone in the media
- 2:09Speaker 2: is praising him for this incredible reporting. And this is
- 2:13Speaker 2: the guy that literally helped cover up the cognitive decline
- 2:16Speaker 2: and dismissed anyone who brought it up on a show.
- 2:18Speaker 3: So look, the book, as I understand it was originally
- 2:21Speaker 3: written by Alex Thompson. Alex Thompson is not nearly as
- 2:24Speaker 3: well known as Jake Tapper, yep, and he had a
- 2:26Speaker 3: contract with the book publishing company. He wrote the book,
- 2:29Speaker 3: and then the book publishing company decided to cancel it
- 2:31Speaker 3: and said, no, we're not going to publish this book
- 2:34Speaker 3: after all. In other words, the book publishing company engaged
- 2:37Speaker 3: in yet another cover up because they didn't want anyone
- 2:39Speaker 3: to know. And so Thompson sought out Tapper and convinced Tapper, hey,
- 2:43Speaker 3: join with me. You're a big famous guy. They'll publish
- 2:45Speaker 3: it if your name's on it. And Tapper said yes.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And I got to say, so, there are lots of.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Never got a crisis, go to waste, right, that's.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Exact looking particularly a chance to make some good money.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I mean, hey, what's journalism all about if not monetizing
- 2:59Speaker 3: your own hypocrisy in your own cover up. Look, Tapper,
- 3:02Speaker 3: some of the facts that are coming out in this book.
- 3:04Speaker 3: In twenty twenty three and twenty twenty four, Tapper and
- 3:07Speaker 3: Thompson report Biden's physical deterioration was so severe that his
- 3:12Speaker 3: advisers discussed the possibility he would need to use a
- 3:16Speaker 3: wheelchair if he won reelection. That's how bad it was.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And yet every time anyone tried to bring up those facts,
- 3:28Speaker 3: Jake Tapper and the rest of the corporate media covered
- 3:30Speaker 3: it up. But don't take my word for it. Listen
- 3:33Speaker 3: to Jake Tapper in his own words. This is a
- 3:35Speaker 3: collection of Tapper over the years.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And this goes back to twenty twenty. The very beginning
- 3:40Speaker 2: is him talking to one of the Trump family members,
- 3:43Speaker 2: Laura Trump, and he actually like ends the interview like,
- 3:46Speaker 2: you can't even say this on my show.
- 3:48Speaker 3: So this montage starts in twenty twenty, then goes to
- 3:51Speaker 3: twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, and then twenty four.
- 3:54Speaker 3: All throughout. Listen, Tapper for five years covered this up aggressively.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Give a listen.
- 4:00Speaker 5: How do you think it makes little kids with stutters
- 4:02Speaker 5: feel when they see you make a comment like that.
- 4:05Speaker 5: It is very clearly a cognitive decline.
- 4:08Speaker 1: That's what I'm referring to. It makes me uncomfortable. You
- 4:10Speaker 1: are view of age. Think it's so amazing.
- 4:14Speaker 5: It's so amazing to me that trying to figure out
- 4:16Speaker 5: an answer cognitive declineative Biden embraces his stutter talking about it,
- 4:20Speaker 5: while Trump mocks it, exaggerates it, belittles it. He's sharp physically,
- 4:25Speaker 5: I mean mentally, Yeah, I think the question is physically right, right,
- 4:28Speaker 5: or so right, right, and the guy who's his chief
- 4:30Speaker 5: opponent is only three or four years younger than him.
- 4:32Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 4:33Speaker 5: I mean, you have questioned President Biden's age, mental fitness,
- 4:36Speaker 5: ability to lead. Of those supporting Biden, you said, quote,
- 4:38Speaker 5: shame on all of you pretending everything is okay. You're
- 4:41Speaker 5: leading us and him into a disaster. Do you worry
- 4:43Speaker 5: that you damaged.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Him at all?
- 4:45Speaker 5: I don't doubt that you got hugs and handshakes behind
- 4:48Speaker 5: closed doors today and maybe even publicly, some of them
- 4:52Speaker 5: because they like you personally. But I've heard a lot
- 4:55Speaker 5: of really nasty stuff about you from your Democratic College.
- 4:58Speaker 5: I mean, just like, what is he thinking? Exercise in narcissism?
- 5:02Speaker 5: I mean false claims to the Wall Street Journal about
- 5:05Speaker 5: President Biden's mental fitness and acuity. He's eighty one and
- 5:10Speaker 5: his memory. You know, it doesn't seem great. It's not horrible,
- 5:13Speaker 5: but I don't understand the outrage quote behind closed doors,
- 5:16Speaker 5: Biden shows signs of slipping quote. The Wall Street Journal
- 5:20Speaker 5: is owned by NewsCorp, which is run by the Murdocks.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Beyond the headline, there is some critical nuance here. The
- 5:25Speaker 5: article is mostly based on observations of Republicans with former
- 5:28Speaker 5: Speaker Kevin McCarthy the only one going on the record.
- 5:32Speaker 5: They do note in the article that most of the
- 5:34Speaker 5: criticism comes from Republicans. Have you heard any concerns from
- 5:38Speaker 5: anyone who has met with President Biden about seeming a
- 5:42Speaker 5: little slower Now the Russians are trying to do to
- 5:45Speaker 5: make us in the public not trust the our election integrity.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Joe Biden has dimension all this stuff.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Let's just stop there and give the title of the
- 5:56Speaker 2: book again, Senator, so people understand what they just and
- 6:00Speaker 2: now what he's writing, because if you just look at
- 6:04Speaker 2: the title of the book, you understand the debauchery of
- 6:08Speaker 2: journalistic scumbaggery.
- 6:10Speaker 3: The title of the book is original sin President Biden's decline,
- 6:15Speaker 3: its cover up, and his disastrous choice to run again.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And understand Jake Tapper when he was saying that he
- 6:23Speaker 3: was lying, he knew he was lying. Everyone else on
- 6:26Speaker 3: CNN knew he was lying. They knew they were lying.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Everyone on MSNBC knew they were lying. Everyone on ABCNBCCBS
- 6:33Speaker 3: knew they were lying. Everyone at the New York Times
- 6:35Speaker 3: knew they were lying. Everyone at the Washington Post knew
- 6:38Speaker 3: they were lying. Everyone knew this look. One of the
- 6:41Speaker 3: facts in his book, he says, at a fundraiser in
- 6:44Speaker 3: Jude of twenty twenty four, Joe Biden didn't recognize George Clooney,
- 6:48Speaker 3: who he's known for decades. He had to Clooney by
- 6:50Speaker 3: the way. He had to be introduced like Ocean's eleven.
- 6:53Speaker 3: What is there, casino?
- 6:54Speaker 1: You're robbing?
- 6:55Speaker 3: I don't understand, like Biden had no idea. This is
- 6:57Speaker 3: the same fundraiser you remember where broad back Obama had
- 7:00Speaker 3: to lead Biden off the stage because he was just
- 7:03Speaker 3: confused and staring out in space, and Tapper and the
- 7:06Speaker 3: rest of them just lied to us and said, aokay,
- 7:08Speaker 3: no problems here.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Now.
- 7:10Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 7:12Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 7:15Speaker 2: from earlier this week.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Now onto story number two.
- 7:18Speaker 2: All right, Sata, so let's dive into this other issue
- 7:22Speaker 2: that really is an interesting one. You've got a lot
- 7:25Speaker 2: to say about the Trump Justice Department telling the American
- 7:29Speaker 2: Bar Association that it will no longer comply with ratings
- 7:34Speaker 2: for judicial nominees.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Now explain the politics behind this.
- 7:39Speaker 2: The ABA has had a lot of power and they're
- 7:43Speaker 2: basically now saying we're not going to let you guys
- 7:45Speaker 2: have that power because there's been a lot of bias
- 7:48Speaker 2: coming out of the American Bar Association.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Well, the American Bar Association, it's a national organization of lawyers,
- 7:54Speaker 3: and it is a left wing advocacy group. It is
- 7:58Speaker 3: not fair, it is not in part it is a
- 8:01Speaker 3: radical left organization. And the ABA has had a formal
- 8:06Speaker 3: role in judicial selection for seventy five years. It started
- 8:11Speaker 3: rating judicial nominees in nineteen fifty three and until two
- 8:17Speaker 3: thousand and one, the ABA actually had a formal role
- 8:21Speaker 3: evaluating judicial nominees before they were nominated. So a president,
- 8:25Speaker 3: a Department of Justice and Administration would would share with
- 8:29Speaker 3: the ABA, hey, we're thinking of nominating Ben Ferguson to
- 8:33Speaker 3: be a federal judge, and they'd go and research and
- 8:37Speaker 3: interview former clients. And at some point people would say, wait,
- 8:40Speaker 3: Ben's not even a lawyer, how the hell is he
- 8:42Speaker 3: going to be a judge? Like, like, you probably should
- 8:44Speaker 3: go to law school first, and and by the way,
- 8:48Speaker 3: that that point is not crazy. But they engaged that
- 8:53Speaker 3: they would do a formal role and they would rate
- 8:55Speaker 3: the qualifications of judicial nominees. Now here's the problem for decades,
- 9:02Speaker 3: the ABA's qualification measures were wildly biased. So, for example,
- 9:08Speaker 3: Robert Bork, Robert Borke. Ronald Reagan nominated Robert Borke to
- 9:13Speaker 3: the Supreme Court in nineteen eighty seven. Robert Borke was,
- 9:16Speaker 3: by any measure, one of the most qualified federal judicial
- 9:20Speaker 3: nominees in the history of this country. Robert Bork had
- 9:23Speaker 3: been the Solicitor General of the United States, the chief
- 9:25Speaker 3: lawyer for the United States in front of the Supreme
- 9:28Speaker 3: Court of the United States. Robert Bork had been one
- 9:31Speaker 3: of the most renowned and respected law professors for decades.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Robert Bork had been a federal judge on the US
- 9:39Speaker 3: Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And so a remarkable career.
- 9:44Speaker 3: And yet the ABA, when they evaluated Robert Borke, they
- 9:47Speaker 3: concluded he was quote not qualified to be a judge.
- 9:51Speaker 3: They also concluded the same thing for Frank Easterbrook. Again, brilliant,
- 9:56Speaker 3: brilliant judge, brilliant professor, one of the greatest judges to
- 9:59Speaker 3: have serve on the Court of Appeals, Frank Easterbrook, the
- 10:02Speaker 3: ABA concluded he was not qualified.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Also Edith Jones.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Edith Jones is a judge on the Fifth Circuit Federal
- 10:08Speaker 3: Court of Appeals down in Texas. I know Judge Jones well,
- 10:12Speaker 3: she's a phenomenal jurist, one of the best and most
- 10:16Speaker 3: conservative judges in the entire country.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The ABA rated her not qualified. Well.
- 10:22Speaker 3: The breaking news is this week the Trump Justice Department
- 10:26Speaker 3: announced the ABA will no longer have a role in
- 10:29Speaker 3: judicial selection. They will no longer have a role in vetting.
- 10:32Speaker 3: They're out. And the Department of Justice said, you know what,
- 10:36Speaker 3: they can chime in like any other left wing advocacy group,
- 10:39Speaker 3: but they don't have a role in this process.
- 10:42Speaker 2: This is going to have, like I think, a big
- 10:44Speaker 2: impact on the quality Bondi informing the ABA that they'll
- 10:49Speaker 2: no longer enjoy the special access to judicial nominees and
- 10:52Speaker 2: the left, by the way, when that news came out,
- 10:55Speaker 2: they totally freaked out. And I think that also shows
- 10:59Speaker 2: just how much they were depending on the ABA to
- 11:02Speaker 2: get rid of good candidates that were maybe more conservative.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and and and so Pambondi sent a letter to
- 11:08Speaker 3: the president of the a B A and and and
- 11:10Speaker 3: she said, quote, while the a BA is free to
- 11:13Speaker 3: come in on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations,
- 11:17Speaker 3: there is no justification for treating the A B A
- 11:19Speaker 3: differently from such other activist organizations, and the Department of
- 11:24Speaker 3: Justice will not do so. And so previously the Office
- 11:28Speaker 3: Illegal Policy, which is the office within the Department of
- 11:33Speaker 3: Justice that handles judicial selections, they changed. They had previously
- 11:38Speaker 3: directed judicial nominees to provide a waiver to the A
- 11:42Speaker 3: B A to let the A B A access non
- 11:45Speaker 3: public information, including bar records. And so no longer is
- 11:50Speaker 3: the Department of Justice going to tell judicial nominees give
- 11:52Speaker 3: the a BA special access. That is over and moreover,
- 11:57Speaker 3: uh Pambondi says, quote nominees will also not respond to
- 12:02Speaker 3: questionnaires prepared by the a BA and will not sit
- 12:05Speaker 3: for interviews with the ABA. In other words, you can
- 12:08Speaker 3: be like every other whack job organization on the left,
- 12:11Speaker 3: but but you're not going to have any special access whatsoever.
- 12:15Speaker 1: This is something I've called for a long time.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I have for years, for more than a decade, advocated
- 12:22Speaker 3: that the A B a BA is wildly biased and
- 12:25Speaker 3: it should it should not have a special role in
- 12:27Speaker 3: the process. And I want to commend President Trump and Pambondy.
- 12:30Speaker 3: It's the right thing to do.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Senater.
- 12:32Speaker 2: We hear a lot about bias and and biased against conservatives.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But my other question is were they also bias and
- 12:39Speaker 2: advocating for liberals?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Absolutely, they are a hard left advocacy organization masquerading as
- 12:47Speaker 3: a non partisan professional organization. And Joe Biden over the
- 12:51Speaker 3: last four years nominated over and over again radicals and zealots,
- 12:55Speaker 3: many of whom were wildly unqualified, and the ABA was
- 12:59Speaker 3: more than happy to stamp them with a rating of qualified.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And one example is is Charnette Charnelle Bagel Congrin, who
- 13:07Speaker 3: was wildly unqualified, and yet the ABA happily deemed her
- 13:12Speaker 3: qualified and rather than me layout how bad she was.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I want you to listen to this, this cross examination
- 13:18Speaker 3: from my colleague John Kennedy to this judicial nominee and
- 13:22Speaker 3: the Senate Judiciary Committee here give listen.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Thank you, mister chairman, and congratulations to all of you.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Judge on the far end, tell me what Article five
- 13:38Speaker 6: of the Constitution does.
- 13:41Speaker 7: Article five is not coming to mind at the moment.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Okay. How about Article two?
- 13:46Speaker 7: Neither is article two?
- 13:48Speaker 6: Okay? Do you know what proposivism is?
- 13:53Speaker 7: In my twelve years as an Assistant Attorney General and
- 13:57Speaker 7: my nine years serving as AGI, I was not faced
- 14:02Speaker 7: with that precise question. We are the highest trial court
- 14:05Speaker 7: in Washington State, so I'm frequently faced with issues that
- 14:10Speaker 7: I'm not familiar with, and I thoroughly review the law,
- 14:14Speaker 7: our research, and apply the law to the facts presented
- 14:17Speaker 7: to me.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Well, you're going to be faced with it as if
- 14:20Speaker 6: you're confirmed. I can assure you of that.
- 14:28Speaker 2: He was dumbfounded at the end there, like, I can't
- 14:30Speaker 2: believe you don't know this well.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And let me underscore how simple the first two questions
- 14:37Speaker 3: are that he asked. So, the Constitution has seven articles.
- 14:41Speaker 3: It's not a very long document. Article five is the
- 14:46Speaker 3: article through that lays out the process for amending the Constitution.
- 14:49Speaker 3: It's fairly basic. That was his opening question. She had
- 14:52Speaker 3: no idea what Article five was. Article two is even
- 14:56Speaker 3: more fundamental. So the first three articles the constitution. Article
- 14:59Speaker 3: one create it's the Congress, Article two creates the President
- 15:03Speaker 3: and the executive branch, and Article three creates the federal Judiciary.
- 15:07Speaker 3: To not know what Article two is is stunning to
- 15:10Speaker 3: give you a sense you will flunk constitutional law and
- 15:14Speaker 3: not graduate law school if you don't know what Article
- 15:17Speaker 3: two is. She was being nominated to be what is
- 15:20Speaker 3: called an article three judge. I assumed she had no
- 15:24Speaker 3: idea what Article three was, and nevertheless the ABA said
- 15:28Speaker 3: she's qualified to be an Article three judge even though
- 15:31Speaker 3: she has no idea what it is. I'm very glad
- 15:34Speaker 3: the ABA no longer has a role in making those
- 15:36Speaker 3: determinations as before.
- 15:39Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 15:41Speaker 2: on this topic, you can go back and dow the
- 15:43Speaker 2: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story number
- 15:50Speaker 2: three of the week.
- 15:50Speaker 4: You may have.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Missed Kamala Harris. Now she's coming out on her book tour.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Not a joke.
- 15:56Speaker 2: She kicked it off and joined The Late Show with
- 15:58Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert to do it. Harris coming out swinging, blasting
- 16:03Speaker 2: the Scotus for forgetting what quote democracy in the rule
- 16:07Speaker 2: of law is quote unquote supposed to be. She also
- 16:10Speaker 2: talked about her new book and the quote Horrors of
- 16:14Speaker 2: January sixth on The Late Show at Colbert as well.
- 16:16Speaker 3: I mean, this is one play a little bit from
- 16:18Speaker 3: her announcement video on her new book, because I have
- 16:21Speaker 3: to say, it's almost like a Saturday Night Live skin
- 16:25Speaker 3: Give it a play.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it is This is her real announcement of her
- 16:28Speaker 4: real book launch.
- 16:30Speaker 8: Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for
- 16:32Speaker 8: President of the United States, one hundred and seven days,
- 16:36Speaker 8: traveling the country, fighting for our future, the shortest presidential
- 16:41Speaker 8: campaign in modern history. It was intense, high stakes, and
- 16:46Speaker 8: deeply personal for me and for so many of you.
- 16:51Speaker 8: Since leaving office, I've spent a lot of time reflecting
- 16:54Speaker 8: on those days, talking with my team, my family, my friends,
- 16:59Speaker 8: and pulling my thoughts together, in essence, writing a journal
- 17:04Speaker 8: that is this book one hundred and seven days. With
- 17:08Speaker 8: candor and reflection, I've written a behind the scenes account
- 17:12Speaker 8: of that journey. I believe there's value in sharing what
- 17:16Speaker 8: I saw, what I learned, and what I know it
- 17:19Speaker 8: will take to move forward. In writing this book, one
- 17:24Speaker 8: truth kept coming back to me. Sometimes the fight takes
- 17:29Speaker 8: a while, but I remain full of hope and I
- 17:33Speaker 8: remain clear eyed. I will never stop fighting to make
- 17:37Speaker 8: our country reflect the very best of its ideals, always
- 17:42Speaker 8: on behalf of the people. So thank you for being
- 17:46Speaker 8: in this fight with me. I am forever grateful, and
- 17:49Speaker 8: I cannot wait for you to read this, and I'll
- 17:52Speaker 8: see you out there. Take care.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I mean it. Is Saturday Live worthy.
- 17:57Speaker 2: It's also one of the funniest things ever because she's
- 18:00Speaker 2: she's saying, oh, by the way, I'm not gonna run
- 18:02Speaker 2: for governor in California. That came up as well, and
- 18:05Speaker 2: it's like, here's my book on how bad my campaign sucked,
- 18:08Speaker 2: but I'll rewrite the history and that and oh, by
- 18:10Speaker 2: the way, I'm basically saying I'm probably gonna run again.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Well, you know the script that she's reading there, that's
- 18:16Speaker 3: clearly a script she's reading from a telepropter. And I
- 18:19Speaker 3: just sort of love with candor and reflection, a behind
- 18:24Speaker 3: the scenes tale. And look, it's so clearly written by
- 18:28Speaker 3: a book publicist. The chances that there is anything resembling
- 18:32Speaker 3: candor or reflection in this book are zero point zero percent.
- 18:36Speaker 4: There is not.
- 18:37Speaker 3: This is a a sanitized, whitewashed version of how you know,
- 18:45Speaker 3: the good ship Lollipop was was derailed by by evil
- 18:50Speaker 3: Donald J. Trump, by by evil voters.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Oh those voters.
- 18:54Speaker 3: And I gotta say, it's interesting how candor and reflection
- 19:01Speaker 3: Kamala has. I want you to listen to her with
- 19:04Speaker 3: Stephen Colbert and if there is an even less gracious, kind, balanced,
- 19:12Speaker 3: normal person on TV than Stephen Colbert. I don't know
- 19:15Speaker 3: who that is. This is one partisan shrill to another.
- 19:19Speaker 3: But listen to how neither one of them has learned
- 19:23Speaker 3: anything from the twenty twenty four election. Give a listen.
- 19:26Speaker 8: This is a time for people to you know, I mean, look,
- 19:29Speaker 8: we designed our democracy with three independent, co equal branches
- 19:35Speaker 8: of government. I mean, when you see that the President
- 19:39Speaker 8: of the United States is trying to get rid of
- 19:41Speaker 8: the Department of Education, and Congress has the role and
- 19:45Speaker 8: responsibility to stand in the way of that, and they're
- 19:48Speaker 8: just sitting on their hands, and then they go on
- 19:50Speaker 8: recess because they don't want to deal with transparency.
- 19:53Speaker 5: And the Supreme Court says, and the Supreme Court says
- 19:57Speaker 5: that he can ignore law that established it.
- 19:59Speaker 8: Yeah, but the we knew what they were doing. Remember
- 20:02Speaker 8: I talked about it in one hundred and seven days.
- 20:04Speaker 8: I don't put that in the book, by the way,
- 20:08Speaker 8: is but about this is an exclusive for the Stephen
- 20:11Speaker 8: Colbert Show. But the Supreme Court basically gave whoever would
- 20:18Speaker 8: be president. When I was in the campaign, I talking immunity.
- 20:22Speaker 8: Immunity we talked about So we're not surprised what the
- 20:27Speaker 8: Supreme Court is doing. And God thanked those members of
- 20:30Speaker 8: the Court who write brilliant thessents and remind us of
- 20:36Speaker 8: what the democracy and the rule of law is supposed
- 20:39Speaker 8: to be.
- 20:41Speaker 4: You know, you hear that, and it's like, what are
- 20:45Speaker 4: you even talking about?
- 20:46Speaker 3: There's so much in what she's saying that is incoherent
- 20:50Speaker 3: and wrong. Let's start off where she's saying. Okay, the
- 20:55Speaker 3: President is trying to abolish the Department of Education and
- 21:00Speaker 3: Hungress is refusing to do its jobs. No, we actually
- 21:03Speaker 3: agree with abolishing the Department of Education. This was something
- 21:07Speaker 3: that the President campaigned on. And the reason the American
- 21:10Speaker 3: people agree with abolishing the federal Department of Education is
- 21:14Speaker 3: not because education doesn't matter, but precisely the opposite, because
- 21:18Speaker 3: it matters so much that people are ticked off that
- 21:20Speaker 3: a bunch of left wing, woke bureaucrats that you and
- 21:23Speaker 3: Joe Biden appointed tried to take over schools, tried to
- 21:26Speaker 3: indoctrinate kids, tried to push Marxist ideology in our children,
- 21:30Speaker 3: and tried to convince them the boys were girls and
- 21:32Speaker 3: girls were boys, and tried to let boys compete in
- 21:34Speaker 3: girls sports and force this on schools. And the red
- 21:38Speaker 3: Tape and the bureaucracy and the waste and the ideology
- 21:41Speaker 3: from the Department of Education is precisely why President Trump
- 21:46Speaker 3: is working to abolish it. And I've actually had Democrat
- 21:50Speaker 3: senators say to me very much what Kamala is, Well,
- 21:53Speaker 3: we're just the Senate is irrelevant because you're not stopping this.
- 21:57Speaker 3: It's like, no, the Senate is relevant. In fact, we're
- 21:59Speaker 3: vote on it. At one senator say this to me
- 22:02Speaker 3: when we voted to shut down NPR and PBS. She
- 22:06Speaker 3: was like, how can you be doing this? The Senate's
- 22:08Speaker 3: not doing our job. I'm like, no, we're precisely doing
- 22:11Speaker 3: our job. The American people are not interested in spending
- 22:13Speaker 3: billions of dollars to fund left wing propaganda. The irony
- 22:18Speaker 3: is Kamala frames what she's saying as a defensive democracy.
- 22:22Speaker 3: What she's mad at is democracy. What she's mad at
- 22:26Speaker 3: is the American people elected Donald Trump. What she's mad
- 22:28Speaker 3: at is the American people elected a Republican House. What
- 22:31Speaker 3: she's mad at is the American people elected a Republican Senate.
- 22:35Speaker 3: And she's really really mad that President Trump and the
- 22:38Speaker 3: Republican Senate and the Republican House are doing what they
- 22:42Speaker 3: said they would do. In other words, they are honoring
- 22:44Speaker 3: and respecting democracy by carrying out the campaign promises they
- 22:48Speaker 3: told the American people, and that infuriates them. And the
- 22:52Speaker 3: irony of her claiming that she believes in democracy. This
- 22:59Speaker 3: wasn't admitted the Biden Harris administration that repeatedly indicted her
- 23:05Speaker 3: political opponent, Donald Trump. This was an administration. Democrats across
- 23:09Speaker 3: the country try to remove Trump's name from the ballot
- 23:12Speaker 3: because nothing says protecting democracy like stopping the voters from
- 23:16Speaker 3: voting for your opponent. This is an administration. Kamala Harris
- 23:20Speaker 3: has demonstrated utter and complete contempt for democracy. And so
- 23:26Speaker 3: when she says, well, gosh, we must defend democracy, what
- 23:30Speaker 3: she means is we need radical left wing policies and
- 23:36Speaker 3: if the voters don't like them, to hell with the voters.
- 23:40Speaker 3: We want them anyway. That's what she's saying. And by
- 23:43Speaker 3: the way, when she's denouncing the courts, what she's really
- 23:46Speaker 3: saying is she wants radical unelected judges to ignore the
- 23:50Speaker 3: will of the voters, to ignore democracy, and to force
- 23:53Speaker 3: her very unpopular policies on the American people anyway, doing
- 23:57Speaker 3: things like she doesn't want illegal immigrants Venezuelan gang members,
- 24:03Speaker 3: murderers and rapists and child molester. She doesn't want them arrested,
- 24:07Speaker 3: she doesn't want them deported, and she wants these radical
- 24:10Speaker 3: judges that she was responsible along with Joe Biden for appointing,
- 24:14Speaker 3: to stand up and say, we don't care what the
- 24:17Speaker 3: American people voted for. We are going to decreate release
- 24:21Speaker 3: more illegal immigrants into your neighborhood because that's who the
- 24:24Speaker 3: Democrat Party represents today.
- 24:27Speaker 2: By the way, you mentioned represent the Democratic Party. Kama
- 24:31Speaker 2: Harris was asked a question by Stephen Colbert and it's
- 24:34Speaker 2: one that went viral. It is the biggest question that's
- 24:38Speaker 2: being asked in the political world right now. Who is
- 24:41Speaker 2: in charge of the Democratic Party? And I want you
- 24:45Speaker 2: to hear this word, salad and get your take on it.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Take a listen.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Who's leaving the Democratic Party. I'm just curious.
- 24:52Speaker 8: There are lots of leaders, and he was generally.
- 24:55Speaker 5: A leader of the Democratic Party, you know, like, oh,
- 24:58Speaker 5: that's the leader donative party.
- 24:59Speaker 8: Who comes to my I think there are a lot
- 25:02Speaker 8: of I'm not going to go through names because then
- 25:04Speaker 8: I'm gonna leave somebody out and then I'm gonna hear
- 25:06Speaker 8: about it.
- 25:07Speaker 1: But just let me say this.
- 25:09Speaker 8: I think it is a mistake for us who want
- 25:15Speaker 8: to figure out how to get out and through this
- 25:18Speaker 8: and get out of it, to put it on the
- 25:21Speaker 8: shoulders of any one person. It's really on all of
- 25:24Speaker 8: our shoulders.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It really is.
- 25:30Speaker 4: All of our shoulders. It's not a great answer, is it.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Well, Look, look, I actually have a little bit of
- 25:35Speaker 3: sympathy for her, because there's no way to answer that.
- 25:38Speaker 3: The real answer is there is no leader of the
- 25:39Speaker 3: Democrat Party. They are leaderless. They are rudderless. They are
- 25:43Speaker 3: running around like chickens with their.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Heads cut off.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Look, who would you say? You could say Chuck Schumer.
- 25:49Speaker 3: But Chuck Schumer's not leading anything. He's utterly terrified of AOC.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Whatever AOC in the squad demands, that's what Schumer does.
- 25:56Speaker 3: So she's not gonna say Chuck Schumer because the audience
- 25:58Speaker 3: would laugh if she said Chuck Schumer. They'd laugh if
- 26:01Speaker 3: she said a Keen Jeffries. Most of them would say,
- 26:03Speaker 3: who's that? Like, he's not leading anything, he's just in
- 26:06Speaker 3: the House, and in both the Senate and House. Schumer
- 26:09Speaker 3: and Jeffries are essentially just embodying rage and hatred to
- 26:13Speaker 3: Donald Trump. They don't have an agenda beyond open borders
- 26:17Speaker 3: and lawlessness and hatred to Donald Trump. That's the entirety
- 26:20Speaker 3: of the Democrat Party. And then beyond that you've got
- 26:23Speaker 3: all their ambitious governors. You know, Gavin Newsom is desperately
- 26:26Speaker 3: trying to be super liberal and supermoderate whatever you want,
- 26:29Speaker 3: and slick it all around. And suddenly he knows boys
- 26:32Speaker 3: aren't girls until tomorrow and then boys are girls. But
- 26:35Speaker 3: she can't say him either, and so there is no
- 26:38Speaker 3: answer she can give because this is a rudderless party.
- 26:41Speaker 3: And to the extent there is a leader, it is
- 26:45Speaker 3: the pro Hamas contingent. It is AOC, it is ilhan Omar.
- 26:49Speaker 3: It is the extreme left wing squad that is driving
- 26:56Speaker 3: the rest of the party and that everyone else in
- 26:58Speaker 3: the party is terrified of.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Yeah, it's amazing, it is.
- 27:02Speaker 2: It is actually fun for once to watch the Democratic
- 27:05Speaker 2: Party from top to bottom being just complete and utter disarray.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Because let's be.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Honest, one more clip. You got to play the clip
- 27:15Speaker 3: when when when Colbert asked if she was running for governor.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah, this is amazing. Take a listen.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Today you made an announcement that you're not running for
- 27:24Speaker 5: the governor of California.
- 27:25Speaker 7: Correct, you said you're going to set this one out.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Why are you saying this?
- 27:29Speaker 7: Are you saving yourself for a different office?
- 27:34Speaker 5: Obviously people will project onto.
- 27:36Speaker 8: And honestly that it's more perhaps basic than that. I
- 27:41Speaker 8: am Listen, I am a devout public servant. I have
- 27:46Speaker 8: spent my entire career in service of the people. But
- 27:51Speaker 8: to be very candid with you, I had to defend
- 27:54Speaker 8: my decision to become a prosecutor with my family is
- 27:57Speaker 8: why is it then, when we think we want to
- 27:59Speaker 8: improve a or change it, that we're always on the outside,
- 28:02Speaker 8: on bend dedne or trying to break down the door.
- 28:05Speaker 8: Shouldn't we also be inside the system? And that has
- 28:08Speaker 8: been my career. Recently, I made the decision that I
- 28:12Speaker 8: just for now, I don't want to go back in
- 28:13Speaker 8: the system. I think it's broken.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I think it's broken. You can't make that up either.
- 28:19Speaker 1: But you know what's broken about it?
- 28:22Speaker 4: What is the head that she lost?
- 28:25Speaker 3: That's her whole definition of whether the system is working
- 28:29Speaker 3: or it's broken. It is broken because the American people
- 28:32Speaker 3: voted for Donald Trump and not for Kamala Harris. It
- 28:35Speaker 3: is broken because the American people voted for a Republican Senate,
- 28:38Speaker 3: not a Democrat Senate. It is broken and in her
- 28:41Speaker 3: view because the American people voted for a Republican House
- 28:43Speaker 3: and not a Democrat house. In her view, democracy the
- 28:48Speaker 3: system only works when she and other left wing lunatics
- 28:52Speaker 3: are in power. That's how she defines whether it's working
- 28:56Speaker 3: or whether it's broken. It is purely it is one
- 29:00Speaker 3: hundred percent about power. And look, look part of why,
- 29:06Speaker 3: to be honest, you and I we don't listen to
- 29:08Speaker 3: Stephen Colbert, and we very rarely listen.
- 29:10Speaker 1: To Kamala Harris.
- 29:11Speaker 3: The reason why we're playing this exchange is because it
- 29:14Speaker 3: really does show that there's not a moment of reflection.
- 29:19Speaker 3: You know what she had in her book promo about
- 29:21Speaker 3: candor and whatever, There's.
- 29:23Speaker 1: None of that.
- 29:25Speaker 3: She continues four years of a disastrous agenda, open borders,
- 29:32Speaker 3: twelve million illegal immigrants, the worst illegal immigration in our
- 29:35Speaker 3: nation's history. She takes no responsibility for that, doesn't acknowledge that,
- 29:39Speaker 3: abandoning all of our friends and allies, going from peace
- 29:42Speaker 3: and prosperity to two simultaneous wars across the globe. She
- 29:45Speaker 3: takes no responsibility for that. The Democrat Party becoming rabidly
- 29:50Speaker 3: anti Semitic, her funders funding violent anti Semitic riots on
- 29:55Speaker 3: college campuses. She takes no responsibility for that. That there's
- 29:59Speaker 3: not at all an acknowledgment of Gosh, people voted for
- 30:06Speaker 3: Donald Trump in significant part because they were really, really,
- 30:09Speaker 3: really unhappy with the radical policies that Joe Biden Kamala
- 30:15Speaker 3: Harris put in place. No acknowledgment of that at all.
- 30:18Speaker 3: And their view the system is broken. Why because the
- 30:22Speaker 3: democracy is functioning. To her mind, if the voters can
- 30:26Speaker 3: vote her out, the system is broken. That is the
- 30:30Speaker 3: essence of the contempt that today's Democrat party has for
- 30:36Speaker 3: big D democracy.
