Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is a special Debate Verdict with Ted Cruz and
- 0:05Speaker 2: Ben ferguson podcast. We get to do these on big
- 0:08Speaker 2: nights jointly like this. Depending on where you're listening to
- 0:12Speaker 2: us right now, you get us both. Senator, your initial reaction,
- 0:16Speaker 2: you watched the debate. I watched the debate. What were
- 0:18Speaker 2: your big takeaways?
- 0:20Speaker 3: Well, tonight was a big and consequential debate, but I
- 0:23Speaker 3: have to say it before we get into it, and
- 0:25Speaker 3: then this entire podcast we're going to analyze the debate
- 0:29Speaker 3: in depth and say what it showed about about where
- 0:32Speaker 3: the race is, where President Trump is, where Kamala Harris is.
- 0:36Speaker 3: But I do want to point out it is exactly
- 0:39Speaker 3: midnight as you and I are recording, which means that
- 0:42Speaker 3: it has just become September eleventh, and for our listeners
- 0:46Speaker 3: who are downloading this, you'll be downloading this today during
- 0:50Speaker 3: September eleventh. And so I just want to start by
- 0:53Speaker 3: acknowledging that twenty three years ago, the worst terrorist attack
- 0:57Speaker 3: in our nation's history happened, and you and I both
- 1:03Speaker 3: lived through nine to eleven. We had friends who lost
- 1:06Speaker 3: their lives in nine to eleven. We saw the agony
- 1:10Speaker 3: and We have talked on this podcast many times about
- 1:14Speaker 3: my view that today we have a greater risk of
- 1:17Speaker 3: a major terrorist attack than we have had any time
- 1:20Speaker 3: since September eleventh, two thousand and one, because of the
- 1:23Speaker 3: disastrous policies of the last four years. And so I
- 1:27Speaker 3: want to acknowledge that at the front end, and then
- 1:31Speaker 3: we're going to walk through right now what the biggest
- 1:34Speaker 3: takeaways are from the debate tonight Center.
- 1:38Speaker 2: This was a obviously important debate for Kamala Harris. It
- 1:43Speaker 2: was really a rollout in a sense where she could
- 1:47Speaker 2: be challenged. What we quickly saw though, was a three
- 1:51Speaker 2: on one debate against Donald Trump and ABC News.
- 1:55Speaker 1: What an end kind donation they gave.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah, the ABC moderators did not do a good job
- 2:01Speaker 3: that They clearly were biased towards Kamala Harris. We saw
- 2:05Speaker 3: that from their live quote fact checking, where repeatedly they'd
- 2:09Speaker 3: follow up what Trump said by contradicting him, by disputing him.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Many instances, their fact checks were wrong and they never
- 2:16Speaker 3: never could be bothered a fact check a word that
- 2:18Speaker 3: came out of Kamala Harris's mouth. It was very one
- 2:20Speaker 3: sided on that front. But look, ABC News was the
- 2:24Speaker 3: least consequential part of tonight. What tonight illustrated is that
- 2:30Speaker 3: Kamala Harris is utterly incapable of defending her own record.
- 2:35Speaker 3: And what we saw tonight, this was her stump speech,
- 2:42Speaker 3: and this was her DNC convention speech, cut into sound
- 2:45Speaker 3: bites and repeated. She memorized a series of vignettes, a
- 2:50Speaker 3: series of little segments, and just repeated those talking points
- 2:55Speaker 3: ad nauseum. And it really became clear with the very
- 2:58Speaker 3: first question of the night, and the first question of
- 3:02Speaker 3: the night that David Muir asked her, is the question
- 3:04Speaker 3: that you and I and Monday's podcast said is the
- 3:07Speaker 3: single most important question of the debate and really of
- 3:10Speaker 3: every election, which is are you better off than you
- 3:13Speaker 3: were four years ago? And to Mere's credit, he started
- 3:18Speaker 3: with that question, are people off today than they were
- 3:21Speaker 3: four years ago? Under Trump? Now? Interestingly enough, Kamala refused
- 3:25Speaker 3: to answer it at all. She didn't say yes, she
- 3:27Speaker 3: didn't say people's lives are better, she said nothing at all. Instead,
- 3:31Speaker 3: she had a little memorized set peace about how I
- 3:34Speaker 3: was raised in a middle class family. I was raised
- 3:37Speaker 3: with a mom who loved me and struggled. And she
- 3:39Speaker 3: just talked about her bio and gave just just empty
- 3:45Speaker 3: platitudes that continued for the entire night. And so look,
- 3:51Speaker 3: we saw this evening. Why it is that Kamala's campaign
- 3:57Speaker 3: team keeps her hidden in Joe Biden's base. Why they
- 4:01Speaker 3: just bring her out, have a read from a teleprompter,
- 4:04Speaker 3: and then they tackle her and throw back in the basement.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Because all right, let's take the very simple question. She
- 4:09Speaker 3: didn't say, yes, you're better off than you were four
- 4:11Speaker 3: years ago. Why, well, you really can't, Like it's impossible
- 4:15Speaker 3: to defend on every front. Inflation. All let's just take
- 4:18Speaker 3: inflation in the economy. Her policies and Joe Biden's policies
- 4:24Speaker 3: have been disastrous America. The working people of America have
- 4:28Speaker 3: seen the price of just about everything go up, from
- 4:31Speaker 3: food to electricity, to rent, to lumber, to healthcare, to gasoline,
- 4:36Speaker 3: to mortgages, everything go up. And critically, this is where
- 4:42Speaker 3: her record matters. Kamala Harris was the tie breaking vote
- 4:46Speaker 3: multiple times on the floor of the Senate on trillions
- 4:50Speaker 3: of dollars of the out of control spending from this
- 4:53Speaker 3: administration that has caused this inflation. She was literally without
- 4:59Speaker 3: her vote, the trillions of dollars that we borrowed, and
- 5:02Speaker 3: the trillions of dollars that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
- 5:06Speaker 3: ran the printing presses on that drove this inflation that
- 5:10Speaker 3: doesn't happen, and she can't defend that. She doesn't have
- 5:12Speaker 3: a good answer. When it comes to energy and gas prices.
- 5:16Speaker 3: People are hurting because of gas price as well. It
- 5:19Speaker 3: is her policies and Joe Biden's policies that has waged
- 5:23Speaker 3: war systematically on oil and gas production and American energy,
- 5:27Speaker 3: and she can't defend that either, and so instead she
- 5:33Speaker 3: simply says, well, we're going to lower energy prices, We're
- 5:35Speaker 3: going to lower gas prices, and with no acknowledgment that
- 5:39Speaker 3: Wait a second, she is, in fact the sitting vice president,
- 5:43Speaker 3: and who knows where the heck the actual president is
- 5:45Speaker 3: besides passed out asleep on a beach.
- 5:48Speaker 2: When you see, I think the strategy, and now it
- 5:51Speaker 2: actually I think makes more sense, right, like just hider,
- 5:55Speaker 2: buy ads, get the media to cover for you and
- 5:59Speaker 2: protect you at all costs. And maybe that is a
- 6:02Speaker 2: winning strategy, which comes to the obviously, the next big question,
- 6:06Speaker 2: should there be another debate?
- 6:08Speaker 1: Do you believe there will be? In the other debate.
- 6:11Speaker 2: They were obviously in the Harris camp implying that there
- 6:14Speaker 2: was a big victory tonight, saying that was fun, let's
- 6:16Speaker 2: do it again, and threw out another date. Uh, signaling
- 6:20Speaker 2: from her campaign they want to tee it up again
- 6:23Speaker 2: and go toe to toe with Donald Trump again.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Is that the right move for her?
- 6:28Speaker 3: Well, listen, I think Trump should absolutely accept that offer
- 6:31Speaker 3: for another debate. He should jump on it and say
- 6:33Speaker 3: let's go. I think the debate is a valuable opportunity
- 6:38Speaker 3: to calmly litigate her actual record. And and let me
- 6:44Speaker 3: say this though, even if Trump does does follow that
- 6:48Speaker 3: advice and does accept the debate, I think there's very
- 6:51Speaker 3: little chance it happens. I think Kamala's team will back
- 6:54Speaker 3: out on it. I think they're mostly just puffing out
- 6:56Speaker 3: their chest and boasting right now with the offer of
- 6:59Speaker 3: another debate, I think there is no world in which
- 7:02Speaker 3: they let her do a second debate. I think it's
- 7:05Speaker 3: back to the basement. And if I were to predict,
- 7:08Speaker 3: we're not going to see Kamala emerge from the basement
- 7:11Speaker 3: until election day. It's like the groundhog until she sees
- 7:15Speaker 3: her shadow on election day. She doesn't get to come
- 7:17Speaker 3: out of the basement, other than to show up at
- 7:20Speaker 3: a rally here and there and read from the teleprompter
- 7:22Speaker 3: the same speech. But they want to keep her absolutely
- 7:27Speaker 3: controlled and repeating. And listen, I will say, the Democrat
- 7:32Speaker 3: Party has very good message masters. They have very good
- 7:35Speaker 3: This is the party of Hollywood. This is the party
- 7:37Speaker 3: of storytellers. Her memorized set pieces, some of them are
- 7:41Speaker 3: pretty effective. They're disconnected from reality. They don't acknowledge any
- 7:45Speaker 3: facts on earth. But if you just listen to them,
- 7:50Speaker 3: they are calmly reassuring, they sound nice. And it's why. Look,
- 7:55Speaker 3: this is the same reaction I had with her convention speech.
- 7:58Speaker 3: It's dangerous as hell, because if you're not paying close attention,
- 8:02Speaker 3: what she says sounds nice unless she is forced to
- 8:07Speaker 3: confront her actual own record. And in the entire debate,
- 8:11Speaker 3: the ABC moderators never once pointed out that her record
- 8:15Speaker 3: is exactly the opposite of what she said on the
- 8:18Speaker 3: debate stage over and over again.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So when I watched the debate, the question I always
- 8:23Speaker 2: ask myself is okay, if I was going in a
- 8:25Speaker 2: night voting for Donald Trump, was I convinced by Kamala
- 8:28Speaker 2: Harris that I should switch my vote, The answer honestly
- 8:31Speaker 2: is no. And if I'm a Kamala Harris voter and
- 8:35Speaker 2: was going into the night watching Kamala Harris saying I'm
- 8:38Speaker 2: going to vote for her. Am I going to switch
- 8:40Speaker 2: my vote to Donald Trump tonight? Honestly? Probably not. Does
- 8:43Speaker 2: that mean that this is a draw in essence, where Hey,
- 8:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump's team they walk out of this going Okay,
- 8:51Speaker 2: maybe we could have done a little better on this
- 8:53Speaker 2: that or the other. Maybe we'll work on that for
- 8:55Speaker 2: the next subbate, but we didn't do any harm and
- 8:57Speaker 2: we got out are some good points. Kama's team probably says, hey,
- 9:00Speaker 2: we survived the night we had you in hiding in
- 9:03Speaker 2: the basement. Is this one of those debates that we
- 9:06Speaker 2: both said was one of the most important ever?
- 9:08Speaker 1: But could in theory be a draw?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Because really, you're if the if the barometer is I'm
- 9:14Speaker 2: trying to change hearts and minds.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Did anyone's mind change tonight?
- 9:19Speaker 3: Well, Kamala's team and all of our cheerleaders in the
- 9:21Speaker 3: corporate media are going to relentlessly hype that she won,
- 9:24Speaker 3: that she won, that she won. And by the way,
- 9:26Speaker 3: they were going to say that whatever happened she could
- 9:28Speaker 3: literally fall to the ground and start screaming and wailing
- 9:31Speaker 3: and kicking her feet in the air, and they would
- 9:32Speaker 3: say she won, So that that was going to be
- 9:34Speaker 3: the narrative regardless. I will say, what we learned is
- 9:39Speaker 3: she doesn't have a good answer to her own record.
- 9:42Speaker 3: The Trump campaign needs to continue to prosecute the case.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So let's take, for example, there was a hole back
- 9:48Speaker 3: and forth on abortion, and Trump said accurately that she
- 9:53Speaker 3: supports late term abortions into the eighth and ninth months
- 9:57Speaker 3: of pregnancy, and she just said, over and over again, no,
- 10:00Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't that's false, that's false, and
- 10:03Speaker 3: the moderators sat there like potted plants. Well, it so
- 10:07Speaker 3: happens that Kamala actually has a record, and in particular,
- 10:11Speaker 3: she has voted for legislation on the floor of the
- 10:13Speaker 3: Senate to strike down every single restriction on abortion in
- 10:17Speaker 3: the country and to legalize abortion in the eighth and
- 10:22Speaker 3: ninth months up to the moment of birth. That is
- 10:25Speaker 3: her actual voting record, what she has voted for. There
- 10:28Speaker 3: was another exchange where Trump points out that the governor
- 10:31Speaker 3: of Virginia, the former governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam had
- 10:35Speaker 3: advocated for post birth abortion, and she flat out lied
- 10:40Speaker 3: and said no, no, he didn't know, he didn't and
- 10:43Speaker 3: play that.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Because we have that clip. And this is why I
- 10:45Speaker 2: love doing the show, is we get to play it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: This is Northam on the radio on WTP saying what
- 10:54Speaker 2: she said, and the media said, never happened.
- 10:57Speaker 4: If a mother is in labor, I can tell you
- 11:00Speaker 4: exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the
- 11:04Speaker 4: infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated
- 11:08Speaker 4: if that's what the mother and the family desired, and
- 11:12Speaker 4: then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mothers.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I mean, where's the fact check for ABC News on that? Senator?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yeah, and understand Ralph Northam, he was a Democrat governor
- 11:24Speaker 3: of Virginia. He was also someone whose medical school yearbook
- 11:29Speaker 3: featured a picture of a Klansman. That's another part of
- 11:33Speaker 3: Ralph Northm's background. But he was also an obgyn, so
- 11:37Speaker 3: he was actually talking about as a doctor who presumably
- 11:39Speaker 3: has done that. He was describing the approach, and that
- 11:43Speaker 3: is delivering a baby. The baby is alive, is breathing,
- 11:46Speaker 3: is outside the mother's womb and he's talking about just
- 11:49Speaker 3: letting the baby die. And again, this is where records matter.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Kamala has a record on this. So when she says
- 11:56Speaker 3: that's ridiculous, that's no, no, no, no, no, that's not true. Well,
- 12:00Speaker 3: Kamala Harris voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act,
- 12:04Speaker 3: and that was a bill that we voted on the
- 12:06Speaker 3: floor of the Senate that said if during the course
- 12:10Speaker 3: of an attempted abortion, the child is delivered, the child
- 12:13Speaker 3: is born, and this happens, and the child is alive
- 12:17Speaker 3: and breathing and outside the womb, that the doctor cannot
- 12:21Speaker 3: just let the baby die. And she voted no. Now,
- 12:27Speaker 3: as you noted, ABC did in fact check her on that,
- 12:29Speaker 3: her voting record is very clear, and this was a
- 12:33Speaker 3: pattern over and over and over again on energy. So
- 12:38Speaker 3: her big trick now on energy is she's run away
- 12:42Speaker 3: from her long held position opposing fracking. Okay, fine, so
- 12:46Speaker 3: she's like, yeah, I just flip flopped on that. What
- 12:49Speaker 3: ABC didn't point out is, well, wait a second, your
- 12:52Speaker 3: repeated statements about banning fracking, that's not the only thing
- 12:55Speaker 3: you've done on energy. First week in office. You and
- 12:57Speaker 3: Joe Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline. Joe Biden, when
- 13:02Speaker 3: he was campaigning for president, promised to shut down drilling
- 13:05Speaker 3: on shore, on federal lands and offshore. You put in
- 13:08Speaker 3: over ninety different regulations and executive orders attacking oil and
- 13:12Speaker 3: gas production in the United States that has had a
- 13:16Speaker 3: very direct effect driving up cost. Your administration banned new
- 13:22Speaker 3: permits exporting liquid natural gas. Like her record on energy
- 13:26Speaker 3: is terrible, and she has no answer to that. And
- 13:30Speaker 3: by the way, Trump did a good job on this
- 13:32Speaker 3: point of saying, listen, you banned the Keystone pipeline and
- 13:36Speaker 3: gave a giant gift of Vladimir Putin by allowing him
- 13:41Speaker 3: to complete the Nordstream two pipeline, which caused the war
- 13:44Speaker 3: in Ukraine. And that's something you and I have talked
- 13:46Speaker 3: about in this podcast a lot. It was my legislation
- 13:49Speaker 3: in the Senate that sanctioned Nordstream two and shut it down.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Trump signed my legislation and Putin literally stopped building the
- 13:57Speaker 3: nord Stream two pipeline the day that Trump signed sanctions
- 14:00Speaker 3: legislation in the law. Northstream two was a dead hunk
- 14:04Speaker 3: of metal at the bottom of the ocean until Joe
- 14:06Speaker 3: Biden and Kamala Harris came into office and they demonstrated
- 14:10Speaker 3: weakness and and they waived the sanctions on nord Stream
- 14:14Speaker 3: two and it was a multi billion dollar gift to
- 14:18Speaker 3: to Russia and it caused the war in Ukraine. None
- 14:22Speaker 3: of that does she have an answer for.
- 14:25Speaker 2: We just got in the official number. ABC News fact
- 14:29Speaker 2: check Donald Trump seven times, not one time the debate.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Did they fact check Kamala Harris?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Not once?
- 14:38Speaker 2: So that's the official caw tally now is seven times
- 14:42Speaker 2: on Trump. That's three on one, and I do think
- 14:45Speaker 2: that's going to have a turnoff. I would hope to
- 14:49Speaker 2: some of those voters, maybe in the middle, the undecideds,
- 14:52Speaker 2: which very much can be the deciding factor in this election.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Will that play with undecideds? Do you think did they
- 14:59Speaker 2: see the bi that you and I saw?
- 15:01Speaker 3: They saw that some, but I think they also go
- 15:04Speaker 3: in expecting the media to be biased. So I don't
- 15:07Speaker 3: think anyone is surprised that ABC is a left wing
- 15:11Speaker 3: mouthpiece for the Democrats. That's been the case sadly for
- 15:14Speaker 3: a long time for ABCNBCCBSC and AN, MSNBC, all of
- 15:18Speaker 3: them have been mouthpieces for the Democrats. So yes, they
- 15:21Speaker 3: saw it, but again they're not surprised. Look, the critical
- 15:26Speaker 3: thing that we saw tonight is is she doesn't have
- 15:29Speaker 3: a good answer on the chaos at our southern border.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Kamala Harris was the borders are. She is directly responsible
- 15:38Speaker 3: for the worst level of illegal immigration in our nation's history.
- 15:42Speaker 3: She is directly responsible for the people who have died.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Eight hundred and fifty three migrants died last year crossing
- 15:50Speaker 3: illegalian in this country. She is responsible for the people,
- 15:55Speaker 3: the women who have been brutally raped. She's responsible for
- 15:58Speaker 3: the children who have been brutalize. She's responsible for the
- 16:01Speaker 3: little boys and little girls who've been horribly assaulted by
- 16:04Speaker 3: human traffickers. She's responsible for the one hundred and ten
- 16:07Speaker 3: thousand Americans who died last year of drug overdoses. She
- 16:11Speaker 3: is responsible for the murderers that she and Joe Biden
- 16:17Speaker 3: had in their custody, Murderers like the illegal alien murder
- 16:20Speaker 3: of Lake and Riley that she and Joe Biden had
- 16:22Speaker 3: in custody, and they released murderers like the illegal alien
- 16:26Speaker 3: murderer of Rachel Morin that illegal alien was in her custody.
- 16:30Speaker 3: She released them. Murderers like the illegal alien murderers of
- 16:36Speaker 3: Joscelyn Hungary. Both of them were in her custody and
- 16:39Speaker 3: she and Joe Biden released them, and so that record.
- 16:43Speaker 3: She was not forced tonight to answer for any of
- 16:45Speaker 3: that record and that, but it demonstrated that she does
- 16:51Speaker 3: not have a good response. And and that's what I
- 16:56Speaker 3: think the next two months the Trump campaign has to
- 17:00Speaker 3: prosecute systematically based on the facts. Here is her record,
- 17:05Speaker 3: Here is what she has done, and it hasn't worked.
- 17:08Speaker 3: It has failed, and the American people are worse off
- 17:13Speaker 3: as a result of the failures of her extreme policy.
- 17:16Speaker 2: You mentioned Donald Trump's got to bring up some more
- 17:19Speaker 2: of this stuff, and I think you and I've talked
- 17:21Speaker 2: about this, but let's just remind people since kamaiers took
- 17:25Speaker 2: off as total prices are up over twenty percent, car
- 17:27Speaker 2: insurance up fifty four percent, hotels are up say when
- 17:31Speaker 2: you rent a hotel fifty one point two percent, Gases
- 17:33Speaker 2: up fifty point fifty percent, fuel oil is up forty
- 17:37Speaker 2: nine point one, transportation up thirty two point nine, Electricity
- 17:41Speaker 2: is up thirty one point seven percent.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Baby food's up over thirty fifty.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Percent, eating out of up twenty five percent, Airfare up
- 17:48Speaker 2: twenty three percent, rent up twenty two percent, and groceries
- 17:52Speaker 2: are up about twenty two percent as well. That's what
- 17:56Speaker 2: they've got to focus on, every single one of a Sarah,
- 18:00Speaker 2: It's not all this other and the weed stuff. They
- 18:03Speaker 2: I really do believe they've got to keep it simple
- 18:06Speaker 2: for the American voter, especially if you're trying to go
- 18:09Speaker 2: after undecided.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Sure. And and that's what we talked about in Monday's pod,
- 18:14Speaker 3: that that the focus needs to be on harms, harms, harms.
- 18:18Speaker 3: How are people's lives worth aught worse off because of
- 18:23Speaker 3: the horrible policies that Kamala Harris is directly responsible for.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And and that's true. On inflation, she was literally the
- 18:30Speaker 3: tie breaking vote behind the trillions of spending that that
- 18:35Speaker 3: unleash this inflation. It's true. On energy, she and Joe Biden.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It has been their executive orders and their regulations that
- 18:42Speaker 3: have driven up energy prices. And and and it's true
- 18:46Speaker 3: on the border, and and and let me play there
- 18:48Speaker 3: that there was one of the best exchanges with something
- 18:50Speaker 3: Trump said on the border where he made the point
- 18:53Speaker 3: that that that that listen, she could secure the border today,
- 18:56Speaker 3: and and and and and listen, listen to this what
- 18:59Speaker 3: what what he said to her?
- 18:59Speaker 5: Right now, I would say we would both leave this
- 19:02Speaker 5: debate right now. I'd like to see her go down
- 19:06Speaker 5: to Washington, D C. During this debate because we're wasting
- 19:09Speaker 5: a lot of time. Go down to because she's been
- 19:12Speaker 5: so bad, it's so ridiculous.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Go down to Washington, D C.
- 19:15Speaker 5: And let her sign a bill to close up the border,
- 19:18Speaker 5: because they have the right to do it. They don't
- 19:20Speaker 5: need bills, they have the right to do it. The
- 19:22Speaker 5: president of the United States. You'll get them out of bed,
- 19:25Speaker 5: You'll wake them up at four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 19:27Speaker 5: You'll say, come on, come on down to the office,
- 19:29Speaker 5: let's sign a bill.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It was a great moment in the debate.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah, look, that point is very powerful. And understand this
- 19:37Speaker 3: invasion at our southern border. It is happening right now today.
- 19:42Speaker 3: There are hundreds, if not thousands of illegal immigrants crossing
- 19:47Speaker 3: the border right now today today, Joe Biden and Kamala
- 19:51Speaker 3: Harris are apprehending hundreds, if not thousands of illegal aliens
- 19:54Speaker 3: and they're going to release them tomorrow. There are criminals
- 19:58Speaker 3: they're going to release tomorrow sorrow. There are murderers they're
- 20:01Speaker 3: going to release. Going forward, there are rapists, there are
- 20:04Speaker 3: child molestors, and they keep on doing it. And the
- 20:07Speaker 3: point Trump is making and listen, his campaign needs to
- 20:10Speaker 3: follow this up by explaining, by really explaining. Look, when
- 20:15Speaker 3: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris came into office, they inherited
- 20:19Speaker 3: the lowest rate of illegal immigration in forty five years.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Donald Trump, I worked hand in hand with President Trump
- 20:26Speaker 3: to secure the border, and we had incredible success. When
- 20:30Speaker 3: Trump was president, the border was secure, and it was
- 20:34Speaker 3: unilateral executive actions that caused this crisis. Three decisions that
- 20:39Speaker 3: Biden Harris did in the very first week. Number one,
- 20:43Speaker 3: they immediately halted construction of the border wall. Number two,
- 20:47Speaker 3: they reinstated the disastrous policy of catch and release, and
- 20:50Speaker 3: number three they pulled out of the incredibly successful Remain
- 20:53Speaker 3: in Mexico agreement. All three of those they could reverse tomorrow.
- 20:59Speaker 3: And so the point like, literally, go down to the
- 21:01Speaker 3: White House right now and do it. That is absolutely right.
- 21:05Speaker 3: It is also right that if and I pray when
- 21:09Speaker 3: Trump is re elected that he will reverse all three
- 21:12Speaker 3: of those decisions on January twentieth of next year, and
- 21:17Speaker 3: we will see the border crisis end, and it will
- 21:19Speaker 3: end quickly, and so that point was very effective. Let
- 21:23Speaker 3: me say, also, Ben, I thought the foreign policy portion
- 21:27Speaker 3: of the debate was particularly strong for Trump and it
- 21:30Speaker 3: was very weak for Kamala Harris. At one point, she
- 21:33Speaker 3: looks over at Trump and says, well, you know, everyone
- 21:36Speaker 3: knows that he was weak and ineffective on foreign policy.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And I got to say to me that that was
- 21:41Speaker 3: a laugh line. And listen, if you look across the globe,
- 21:46Speaker 3: we had peace and prosperity when Trump was president. We
- 21:49Speaker 3: had no foreign wars, and in fact, we saw peace
- 21:53Speaker 3: breaking out in the Middle East. We saw the Abraham
- 21:55Speaker 3: Accords being signed, we saw Arabs and Israelis coming together.
- 22:00Speaker 3: And I think it is absolutely the case that if
- 22:03Speaker 3: Trump were still in the White House today, the war
- 22:06Speaker 3: in Ukraine would not have happened, in the war in
- 22:08Speaker 3: Israel would not have happened. That it was Joe Biden
- 22:10Speaker 3: and Kamala Harris's weakness that caused those wars. And critically,
- 22:16Speaker 3: and Trump did a good job of this too, laying
- 22:18Speaker 3: out that that Listen, Kamala Harris has flowed over one
- 22:22Speaker 3: hundred billion dollars to Iran. Iran provides ninety percent of
- 22:27Speaker 3: the funding for hamas ninety percent of the funding for Hesbela,
- 22:30Speaker 3: Kamala Harris, in a very real sense paid for the
- 22:33Speaker 3: death squads that carried out the atrocities on October seventh,
- 22:39Speaker 3: and and and Kamala has no answer to that, And
- 22:43Speaker 3: and tonight showed that powerfully. You know.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I also think, and you go to the end of
- 22:47Speaker 2: the debate that one of the best parts was actually
- 22:51Speaker 2: Donald Trump in his closing argument. And it goes back
- 22:54Speaker 2: to the campaign strategy I think he needs to have
- 22:58Speaker 2: moving forward, and that is to make sure he makes
- 23:02Speaker 2: this about what she has done in comparison to what
- 23:08Speaker 2: she claims she wants to do while she's in charge.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Like you're in charge, you're in charge, You're in charge?
- 23:14Speaker 5: Is it?
- 23:14Speaker 1: In Trump?
- 23:15Speaker 5: So she just started by saying she's going to do this,
- 23:18Speaker 5: She's going to do that, She's going.
- 23:19Speaker 1: To do all these wonderful things. Why hasn't she done it.
- 23:23Speaker 5: She's been there for three and a half years. They've
- 23:26Speaker 5: had three and a half years to fix the border,
- 23:29Speaker 5: they've had three and a half years to create jobs
- 23:32Speaker 5: and all the things we talked about.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Why hasn't she done it? She should leave right now.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Go down to that beautiful White House, go to the Capitol,
- 23:41Speaker 5: get everyone together, and do the things you want to do.
- 23:44Speaker 5: But you haven't done it, and you won't do it
- 23:46Speaker 5: because you believe in things that the American people don't
- 23:49Speaker 5: believe in.
- 23:50Speaker 2: It's a great line, and I wish it would have
- 23:53Speaker 2: been used even more.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the closing was Trump's best, best part
- 23:58Speaker 3: of the entire debate, and that was exactly the right message.
- 24:01Speaker 3: It's a message that the Trump campaign should amplify every
- 24:05Speaker 3: day between now an election day. Listen, you and I
- 24:07Speaker 3: have talked about how Kamala is trying to engage in
- 24:10Speaker 3: this divorced from reality campaign where she pretends she's not
- 24:14Speaker 3: in office, that she's not the incumbent, she disavows all
- 24:18Speaker 3: responsibility for the mess that is happening, and in fact,
- 24:22Speaker 3: she's behaving as if Donald Trump is the incumbent president
- 24:26Speaker 3: and she's the change candidate. She is in office right now,
- 24:30Speaker 3: Joe Biden is in office right now, and on every
- 24:34Speaker 3: single level, on inflation, on crime, on illegal immigration, on
- 24:40Speaker 3: foreign policy, on safety and security, the world was much
- 24:45Speaker 3: much better when Trump was president than it is today,
- 24:49Speaker 3: and that needs to be emphasized every day between now
- 24:52Speaker 3: an election Day.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Center her final question.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I think for you and really for me when I
- 24:57Speaker 2: was watching this tonight and it say, okay, where do
- 25:01Speaker 2: we go from here? I'm in favor of another debate.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I think you cover that earlier, right, you agree Trump
- 25:07Speaker 2: should do another one Number one.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yes, but I don't think she will. I think you will.
- 25:12Speaker 1: So your prediction is she's done yep. Number two.
- 25:16Speaker 2: If you're Donald Trump, what do you learn for tonight
- 25:20Speaker 2: and what do you take into your big campaign rallies
- 25:22Speaker 2: from this? And what is your messaging to your surrogatece
- 25:25Speaker 2: tomorrow on the surrogate call.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I think the message is she cannot defend her record,
- 25:31Speaker 3: and her record is a failure. The American people are
- 25:34Speaker 3: worse off. But listen, I think it's important to remember also,
- 25:38Speaker 3: this is not about Donald Trump, and it's not about
- 25:41Speaker 3: Kamala Harris. It is about the American people. It is
- 25:44Speaker 3: about It is about young, young couples who are going
- 25:48Speaker 3: out and buying their first home and they're discovering that
- 25:51Speaker 3: a seven and a half percent mortgage rate is much
- 25:54Speaker 3: much worse than a two and a half percent mortgage
- 25:56Speaker 3: rate that you get about half the house. That's happening
- 25:59Speaker 3: right now nowaday people are hurting. It's about a single
- 26:02Speaker 3: mom who's trying to make ends meet and she can't
- 26:05Speaker 3: afford to buy groceries anymore because the prices have gone
- 26:08Speaker 3: so high, and when she tries to fill up her
- 26:10Speaker 3: tank to go to work, it just about breaks her.
- 26:14Speaker 3: It's about the people who are suffering. Look today, on
- 26:21Speaker 3: September tenth, there was a ceremony in the Capitol where
- 26:26Speaker 3: the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded to the thirteen servicemen
- 26:31Speaker 3: and women who were murdered in Afghanistan from the absolutely
- 26:35Speaker 3: disastrous and incompetent withdrawal from Abbigate. And I'll tell you,
- 26:39Speaker 3: the families were there, and it was a beautiful ceremony,
- 26:42Speaker 3: and the families. I spoke to many of the families.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I thanked every one of them that I could to
- 26:49Speaker 3: say thank you for your service and sacrifice. I'm sorry.
- 26:54Speaker 3: But I also to many of them. Had a follow
- 26:56Speaker 3: up conversation where I said, there needs to be accountability.
- 27:00Speaker 3: There has been zero accountability. That the focus for the
- 27:06Speaker 3: campaign every day from now to election day needs to
- 27:11Speaker 3: be the difference between Trump's record and Kamala's record and
- 27:14Speaker 3: critically bringing it home to the voters, how their lives
- 27:19Speaker 3: were much better when Trump was president than they have
- 27:22Speaker 3: been under Kamala, and that her policies are failures and
- 27:27Speaker 3: they're hurting the American people. That's got to be the
- 27:29Speaker 3: central message.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, as you mentioned a second ago, on this anniversary
- 27:35Speaker 2: of nine to eleven, I think it's important that we
- 27:38Speaker 2: also take a step back, remember how important it is
- 27:41Speaker 2: that you have competent leaders that understand how important it
- 27:44Speaker 2: is to protect and defend the home, lan, to protect
- 27:47Speaker 2: and defend freedom. And also just a moment to say
- 27:51Speaker 2: thank you to all of those that serve this country,
- 27:54Speaker 2: to all of those that wear the uniform, to all
- 27:57Speaker 2: those that have given the ultimate sacrifices and their families.
- 28:01Speaker 2: There were so many people that died on nine to eleven,
- 28:03Speaker 2: but there was also the second part, and that was
- 28:06Speaker 2: so many that died because they wanted to protect and
- 28:10Speaker 2: defend us after nine to eleven that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
- 28:15Speaker 2: And I said to everybody listening, say thank you to
- 28:17Speaker 2: a veteran. Text them. Everybody knows a veteran, tell them
- 28:21Speaker 2: thank you. I had the privilege of playing golf today
- 28:25Speaker 2: with some of those that actually took out some of
- 28:29Speaker 2: the worst terrorists in the world, some special operators, and
- 28:33Speaker 2: they were amazing guys, and I say to them, thank you,
- 28:38Speaker 2: because without you giving up years of your life and
- 28:41Speaker 2: risking your life and losing your brothers in uniform, we
- 28:45Speaker 2: wouldn't have the freedoms we have today.
- 28:46Speaker 1: And that's what we need to remember. I think during
- 28:48Speaker 1: this election season as well.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Don't forget. We do the show Monday, Wednesday, Friday on Verdict.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I do my show Ben Ferguson podcasts every single day.

- 29:05Speaker 2: I will see you back here in a couple of days,
- 29:08Speaker 2: and I'll see you back here tomorrow on the Ben
- 29:09Speaker 2: Ferguson podcasts as well. And again, God bless America and
- 29:13Speaker 2: thanks to all of our veterans that are listening to you.
