- 1:42Speaker 1: turn got to turn out to turn the water the water.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your baby now. Uh huh I show
- 2:02Speaker 1: will good marded everybody you're listening to the voice, come
- 2:07Speaker 1: on dig me now, one it all. It's Steve Harvey
- 2:11Speaker 1: got a radio show. Well all right, I've learned something
- 2:18Speaker 1: and its sharing time. And I am ever appreciated. I
- 2:25Speaker 1: do appreciate God for all that he allows me to
- 2:29Speaker 1: learn in my life. One of the best lessons I've
- 2:33Speaker 1: learned is that hardship teaches you some great lessons. Challenges
- 2:44Speaker 1: brings about some of my best results. I think what
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to say is in every challenge and hardship,
- 2:54Speaker 1: every setback, I've learned something so so valuable. So here's
- 3:01Speaker 1: what I've You know, I've known this, but I've just
- 3:05Speaker 1: learned it at a different angle. Appreciation and gratitude is
- 3:11Speaker 1: the key to having more. Now, I don't know how
- 3:17Speaker 1: that sound to you, but I can't tell you how
- 3:21Speaker 1: true it is. God being fair and just as he
- 3:26Speaker 1: really is. He really is. He's a fair and a
- 3:29Speaker 1: just God. What's most beneficial to us is he happens
- 3:33Speaker 1: to be full of mercy and grace. And I'm telling
- 3:40Speaker 1: you something, man, I've probably benefited from his grace and
- 3:47Speaker 1: mercy more than anything else. I mean, really, man, if
- 3:52Speaker 1: it wasn't for him just forgiving me, and then for
- 3:58Speaker 1: him just touch in my life the way he has,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not hearing this position today. I'm just not.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But a funny thing has happened along the way, even
- 4:10Speaker 1: to you. If you look at it, is it your
- 4:14Speaker 1: genuine appreciation and gratitude has been the key to you
- 4:19Speaker 1: having more for your continued blessings and for making room
- 4:27Speaker 1: for having to open up and pour out blessings that
- 4:29Speaker 1: you don't have room enough to receive. If you look
- 4:32Speaker 1: at it, see God being a fair and just God,
- 4:35Speaker 1: which he is, why would he put more on you
- 4:41Speaker 1: than you can bad? If you've noticed everything that's happened
- 4:45Speaker 1: in your life, if you're still here, you've made it,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you know, forget how rough it was, got that, but
- 4:53Speaker 1: you made it. Forget what it sent you through, and
- 4:57Speaker 1: it hide made you feel you made it. Now, what
- 5:03Speaker 1: makes people give up and you hear about people committing suicide,
- 5:06Speaker 1: is they leave the God out of their life and
- 5:10Speaker 1: they start allowing that other voice to control. And if
- 5:14Speaker 1: it's really true that God never puts more on you
- 5:16Speaker 1: than you can bear, as long as you stay connected
- 5:19Speaker 1: to God, you can get through anything. But you lose
- 5:23Speaker 1: that connection, you lose that communication, you lose that relationship
- 5:30Speaker 1: with him. If you're not having a relationship with God,
- 5:33Speaker 1: then who you're having a relationship with now? And it
- 5:38Speaker 1: ain't but two forces at work at all time. It's
- 5:42Speaker 1: good and evil, it's positive and negative. It's God's satan. Now,
- 5:51Speaker 1: this is at work all the time. So if you're
- 5:55Speaker 1: not being positive about everything, you leave room for negativity
- 6:00Speaker 1: up in. If you're not trying to be righteous in
- 6:04Speaker 1: your way, then you allow evil to step in. If
- 6:08Speaker 1: you don't work on your relationship with God, come on, now,
- 6:13Speaker 1: look who you're letting step in. So now I'm asking
- 6:18Speaker 1: you to understand that God never puts more on you
- 6:22Speaker 1: than you can bear. Okay, now that we got that clear,
- 6:25Speaker 1: that's a fact. Okay. Now with that fact in mind,
- 6:28Speaker 1: let's go over this right here. Why would God, being
- 6:31Speaker 1: as just and merciful as he is, put more on
- 6:35Speaker 1: you than you can bear? Example, if God has given
- 6:40Speaker 1: you blessings and all you're doing is complaining about him,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you're never showing any appreciation of gratitude about it. Why
- 6:49Speaker 1: would he give you some more stuff to be ungrateful for?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Why would he give you some more stuff to complain about?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Why would he give you some more stuff that you
- 6:57Speaker 1: would not show any more appreciation for? I mean, this
- 7:01Speaker 1: thing is real simple, man, ain't it if you think
- 7:03Speaker 1: about it? So? A lot of times, man, when I
- 7:05Speaker 1: was going through my positions of not having it and
- 7:09Speaker 1: wondering at all, like here, I ended up checking myself
- 7:11Speaker 1: and going, man, I'm not even showing any gratitude or
- 7:14Speaker 1: appreciation for the things He has done for me. Start
- 7:18Speaker 1: showing some appreciation and gratitude, because it's the key to
- 7:21Speaker 1: having more. It's the key to continued blessings. It's the
- 7:25Speaker 1: key to the wonders of heaven opening up and pouring
- 7:28Speaker 1: out a blessing that you won't have room enough to receive.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It's the appreciation and gratitude of what you already have,
- 7:37Speaker 1: as minimal as it may appear to be right now
- 7:41Speaker 1: for you, it is still what you have. But if
- 7:45Speaker 1: you've shown no grat no gratitude for the minimal, why
- 7:52Speaker 1: would he give you the maximum? I mean, I'm just
- 7:56Speaker 1: really just trying to put it real, real, simple, so
- 7:59Speaker 1: I can keep understanding this thing right here. So let
- 8:02Speaker 1: me give you an example. In my life, I had
- 8:05Speaker 1: gotten so busy at one point that I had begun
- 8:10Speaker 1: to complain about how busy I was. This is true
- 8:15Speaker 1: because I am busy, but it ain't the busy part
- 8:21Speaker 1: because I asked to be busy. You know, I asked
- 8:23Speaker 1: God to give me opportunities and to make a way
- 8:27Speaker 1: for me. Well, in that you got to do something,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and you got to get busy. But I began to
- 8:33Speaker 1: complain about the business and how busy I was, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: I noticed that a couple of things slowed up for me.
- 8:42Speaker 1: So I had got to the point where I wasn't
- 8:45Speaker 1: showing real gratitude for it. Well, I looked up and
- 8:48Speaker 1: a couple of things started slowing down, and then I
- 8:51Speaker 1: had to catch myself and I went, wow, man, you
- 8:54Speaker 1: have got to start embracing the fact that you are
- 8:57Speaker 1: this busy, embraced the fact that what all comes along
- 9:01Speaker 1: with it. Because to whom much is given, much is required.
- 9:04Speaker 1: You got to start embracing the requirement part if you
- 9:09Speaker 1: want to continue with the giving part. So I changed
- 9:12Speaker 1: my attitude. I caught myself and I started thinking him
- 9:15Speaker 1: and showing real gratitude for how busy I was instead
- 9:18Speaker 1: of complaining about how busy I was. And then guess what,
- 9:21Speaker 1: It opened up the windows of heaven and some more
- 9:23Speaker 1: blessings got poured out. It just works that way all
- 9:27Speaker 1: the time, for everybody, for me, for you, for everybody.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So listen, y'all again. Your appreciation and gratitude is the
- 9:35Speaker 1: key to having more. Your appreciation and gratitude is the
- 9:38Speaker 1: key to continued blessings. And your appreciation and gratitude it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: the only way that you can get those windows of
- 9:46Speaker 1: heaven to open up and pull out these blessings that
- 9:48Speaker 1: you won't have room enough to receive. You got to
- 9:51Speaker 1: act like you're glad for what you got in order
- 9:53Speaker 1: to get more. You feel me, let's go show everybody.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You're about to listen to the baddest radio show in
- 10:05Speaker 1: the entire country, the baddest, the baddest, hands down, I
- 10:09Speaker 1: don't care who you talk to. It is the baddest
- 10:13Speaker 1: show in the land. Is that right? Shell is strobar
- 10:17Speaker 1: and the most ignorant show in all the land? Good morning? Jay?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Forgot about that? And everybody? Ain't that right? Called Pharrell?
- 10:28Speaker 1: What's up with you? Bad? Bad? What's up Jay? Anthony Brown?

- 14:37Speaker 1: that is two years younger than me, and when we
- 14:39Speaker 1: make love, she makes me feel like I'm the woman.
- 14:42Speaker 1: She initiates the sex and takes the lead. She gives

- 16:17Speaker 1: must never come to her house unannounced. You heard me.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He's sixty one, she's sixty three. This past Saturday, I
- 16:24Speaker 1: went by the farmer's market and got her watermelon, and
- 16:27Speaker 1: I was planning to place it at her front door
- 16:29Speaker 1: and leave. When I got to her house, she was
- 16:32Speaker 1: in the driveway, wearing her housecoat talking to a man.
- 16:35Speaker 1: She waved her hand to shoot me away and I left. Later,
- 16:39Speaker 1: she called a yell at me for popping up. When
- 16:41Speaker 1: I asked who the guy was, she said, it's none
- 16:43Speaker 1: of my business. Is she acting mad because she's hiding something?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Do you think she's a cheater? Look, first of all,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you look cheap as boy. The watermelon you just go
- 16:57Speaker 1: over there, that's the first ain't that's the first thing.
- 17:02Speaker 1: You didn't have no flowers on steaks. You know, you
- 17:05Speaker 1: ain't paid the rent or nothing like that. You're gonna
- 17:08Speaker 1: roll your hands over there with a watermelon. But Jay
- 17:11Speaker 1: ain't taking what they do with that. Ain't they bring fruit?
- 17:14Speaker 1: They bring people. You got to come correct or watermelon
- 17:19Speaker 1: ain't gonna get you visiting rage. It just ain't gonna
- 17:21Speaker 1: do it. Man. I think he was mad because she
- 17:26Speaker 1: was in her role outside talking through another man. That
- 17:29Speaker 1: wasn't a road st that was a dust. That's a househoo. Yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 1: there's a dust right, yeah, yeah, And a and a
- 17:38Speaker 1: slip with no top on. Yeah, that's why he was.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Nobody West slips anymore too, still wear slips. The slip
- 17:48Speaker 1: penning still sell slips in the catalog. Somebody we were, y'all. Now, y'all,
- 17:57Speaker 1: let me tell you man something. Keep laughing as a
- 18:00Speaker 1: slip in your future. Keep all right, So, bitter man,
- 18:07Speaker 1: this one's from Kim in Atlanta. Kim says, I'm a
- 18:10Speaker 1: twenty eight year old black female and I have been
- 18:12Speaker 1: single for three years because I only want to date
- 18:16Speaker 1: black men. It's hard nowadays. Oh, this is definitely not
- 18:20Speaker 1: the letter for you. It's hard nowadays to find a
- 18:23Speaker 1: good one that doesn't cheat, lie, or think he's God's
- 18:25Speaker 1: gift to women. I'm five four and one hundred and
- 18:29Speaker 1: fifty pounds, and the men I meet are much smaller
- 18:31Speaker 1: than me, and their clothes are tighter than mine. I've
- 18:35Speaker 1: dated outside of my race, but it was too weird
- 18:37Speaker 1: for me. I would love to have a black husband
- 18:40Speaker 1: one day, but I'm not sure what's going on with
- 18:42Speaker 1: these men. Bitter man, Can you mentor the grown men too?
- 18:48Speaker 1: We know you mentor boys, she sang, But no, we don't.
- 18:51Speaker 1: We don't do mentor in that, bitter Man. We're gonna
- 18:58Speaker 1: let need black men treat these white women like they
- 19:00Speaker 1: won't do. That is up to them. Okay, I'm not
- 19:04Speaker 1: head to judge new body. You got a nice white
- 19:08Speaker 1: lady that will slip you one hundred or two hundred
- 19:10Speaker 1: and nine, Then why would I break that up? W wow?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Why would I damage that? You got it going on? Yeah?
- 19:19Speaker 1: I mean more power to man, bitter man. She's five
- 19:26Speaker 1: four and one hundred and fifty pounds. These men are
- 19:30Speaker 1: smaller than her. She she's five four at the universe,
- 19:35Speaker 1: thir these are these are jockeys, These are jockeys. It's
- 19:41Speaker 1: a dizzy world. This is a small world. After she's
- 19:48Speaker 1: five four, I know, one hundred and fifty pounds, She's
- 19:51Speaker 1: meeting much smaller men and their clothes are tighter than hers.
- 19:55Speaker 1: What is going on? The reason? The reason she's so
- 19:59Speaker 1: nice because she got to pay them extra money to
- 20:03Speaker 1: pick up that weight picking that weight up? Yeah, those
- 20:11Speaker 1: skinny jeans you know those you know they probably yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: but shorter, shorter than five four? I got nothing, I
- 20:21Speaker 1: got nothing right? Uh? Would you say, joan a universal
- 20:25Speaker 1: sarcus getting these men? Man smaller than five four? He
- 20:30Speaker 1: got to be in the service, yea an tyrion you know?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Shot him? Und all right? Thank you, bitter man, god man,

- 23:13Speaker 1: and uh, nah, noah, I had brought some clothes, probably
- 23:16Speaker 1: about three weeks before that. Uh huh. And and when
- 23:20Speaker 1: I got home three you know, like I said, three weeks.
- 23:22Speaker 1: When I got on with that, with them clothes, I

- 36:00Speaker 1: this time when he's here. Uh, let's look into the
- 36:03Speaker 1: mind of our very own personal madman. We can call
- 36:07Speaker 1: him that, but you can't, Jay Anthony Brown, what you
- 36:11Speaker 1: got for? I've been called words. So let's move on,
- 36:15Speaker 1: all right, everybody. Everybody saw the debate when our girl
- 36:21Speaker 1: vice president to be stood at her Brown and said,
- 36:25Speaker 1: you are not going to lecture means she said it
- 36:28Speaker 1: not an angry way. She just made her point. You know.
- 36:31Speaker 1: So what I put together is some great quotes by
- 36:34Speaker 1: some great Black women of history. Put together about ten
- 36:38Speaker 1: of them. These are great quotes from great Black women
- 36:42Speaker 1: of history. Here we go. Number one, great black woman
- 36:45Speaker 1: said this, Bobby Brown is the king of R and B.
- 36:49Speaker 1: That was a great ass quote. Right then, is the
- 36:54Speaker 1: king of R and B. I submitt that. Number two
- 36:58Speaker 1: another great quote from a great black woman. Not until
- 37:02Speaker 1: you do right by me, everything you touch will fail.
- 37:05Speaker 1: What great quote quote? Here we go. He's a great
- 37:14Speaker 1: quotes from great black women, great quotes from love. Should
- 37:20Speaker 1: have brought your ass home last night? What who whoa?
- 37:28Speaker 1: That's that's powerful, powerful words that before didn't He's a
- 37:34Speaker 1: strong words, strong black women. Here we go. I'm trying
- 37:39Speaker 1: to make a record. Oh that's a strong quote. What
- 37:43Speaker 1: was that? I missed out one? Which one was that?
- 37:48Speaker 1: I can't believe? Oh God, I'm bars. Here we go,
- 37:55Speaker 1: Here we go. Wrote the song number five break quote
- 38:02Speaker 1: from a great Black woman, shame chain, chain, shame a fool?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Whoa the queen baby? That's the man quote right here?
- 38:14Speaker 1: This is so powerful, just these words. It says it all.
- 38:19Speaker 1: You don't have to go so what you're trying to say,
- 38:21Speaker 1: it says right here. She said these words to the left,
- 38:25Speaker 1: to the left. Everything you own is in a box
- 38:29Speaker 1: to the left. That's a great real quick, get out quick.
- 38:36Speaker 1: I bust the windows at your copy. You better call rone,
- 38:44Speaker 1: but you can't use my phone owns all right, thank you.
- 38:53Speaker 1: That's from the mind of Jay Anthony Brown. Coming up
- 38:55Speaker 1: in thirty four minutes after the hour, here's the question.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Does the president have roy rage or has he just
- 39:01Speaker 1: completely lost his mind? We'll talk about it right after
- 39:05Speaker 1: this you're listening to. In an hour long rambling interview
- 39:13Speaker 1: on Fox Business yesterday, President Trump insulted and attacked Democratic
- 39:18Speaker 1: vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris. This, of course, is after
- 39:22Speaker 1: she faced off in her one and only debate with
- 39:24Speaker 1: Vice President Mike Pence in Salt Lake City. The President said,
- 39:28Speaker 1: first of all, he called her a monster. He said
- 39:30Speaker 1: that monster was on stage with Mike Pence. And then
- 39:34Speaker 1: the President kept on insulting Senator Harris during that interview.
- 39:38Speaker 1: He called her horrible, totally unlikable, and he called her
- 39:41Speaker 1: a communist what I mean, Yeah, he called her a monster.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? I think he need to be tested.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I really do. Suck it. I'm talking about mentally tested.
- 39:55Speaker 1: He needs to be tested. We know, but they're not
- 39:58Speaker 1: going to tell us if something wrong. They're not gonna
- 40:01Speaker 1: tell us. We can see it. How dare how dare him?
- 40:05Speaker 1: I'll say something like that, insulting, racism, sexism, everything you
- 40:11Speaker 1: could just he's horrible. He's just really a horrible personally.
- 40:16Speaker 1: I need someone to call him out on that one too.
- 40:18Speaker 1: A monster. Yeah. Really, dare you notice Republican leadership has
- 40:23Speaker 1: not said a word? No, No, I don't What can
- 40:29Speaker 1: you say? There's a lot you can say. I think
- 40:33Speaker 1: um representative or um. Jim Clyburne did say he was
- 40:38Speaker 1: pretty upset about it. He had a clap back for
- 40:40Speaker 1: the president. But this is just awful. I mean, it's
- 40:44Speaker 1: just low. I told you he was a scrapper though,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I said that he gets low low, low low. It
- 40:51Speaker 1: is dully yeah, yeah, it is horrible, It really is. Yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 1: it's yeah yeah. Also, a Trump advisor named bands Hill
- 41:02Speaker 1: has been banned on Fox for calling Kamala Harris the
- 41:05Speaker 1: B word on the airwaves. Really, who did that? I
- 41:11Speaker 1: just told you his name is band Hills. He's um,
- 41:15Speaker 1: he's a Trump advisor. But at least yeah, yeah, at
- 41:19Speaker 1: least Fox had a good sense to ban him. He
- 41:22Speaker 1: called her be really yeah, this is so foul, this
- 41:27Speaker 1: is this is it's just low. It's just so ugly nasty.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I mean, I know campaigns can get ugly and nasty,
- 41:34Speaker 1: but really now, really the B word and a monster
- 41:41Speaker 1: That just really bothered me. If you you don't know
- 41:44Speaker 1: who you're voting for, none and something is really wrong

- 42:00Speaker 1: is head, you know what it is? Why we know
- 42:03Speaker 1: what's up there? Why not desperate? He's desperate, he is.
- 42:08Speaker 1: He is very desperate right now because he knows that
- 42:11Speaker 1: he is going to lose this election in twenty five days.
- 42:15Speaker 1: He knows. But the problem, no, Carlin, is that I
- 42:18Speaker 1: fear is the drama after he does lose. It's not
- 42:21Speaker 1: gonna it's not gonna be easy. It's not gonna be
- 42:23Speaker 1: a smooth transition will be It's nothing he can do
- 42:27Speaker 1: if he if he loses in a landslide like we're
- 42:31Speaker 1: predicting he's got to go January twentieth. He's gotta go period.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Matter of fact, you don't need to pack nothing, because
- 42:38Speaker 1: we need to clean this whole why, yes, yeah, we
- 42:46Speaker 1: got it. Don't worry about it, or throw him away
- 42:49Speaker 1: and burn him in the back because all that stuff's infected.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Everything gotta go. Yeah. Yeah, And then you know, there
- 42:55Speaker 1: was a new virtual plan. There was a new plan
- 42:58Speaker 1: for a virtual president dential debate because you know, they
- 43:01Speaker 1: still have another two more presidential debates coming up due
- 43:04Speaker 1: to Trump's COVID diagnosis. But Trump said no, he said,
- 43:08Speaker 1: I will not waste my time with a virtual debate. Okay,
- 43:13Speaker 1: we need a debate. Joe, yeah, good, Yeah, yeah, gonta
- 43:16Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, he doesn't want to do You will
- 43:19Speaker 1: get the top, that's good. Joe will get yeah, without
- 43:26Speaker 1: you interrupting him. This is crazy. Twenty five days, guys,
- 43:30Speaker 1: twenty five days now getting close. Yeah, until election day
- 43:35Speaker 1: November three. For some states, it is not too late
- 43:37Speaker 1: to register to vote. Other states are voting already, or
- 43:42Speaker 1: other states are voting already. So please go to vote
- 43:45Speaker 1: dot org. You can get dates for earth voting. We
- 43:48Speaker 1: want to plan for this now we want to make
- 43:51Speaker 1: serious plans, uh to for this election coming up? Okay,
- 43:56Speaker 1: And speaking of coming up, next up is the nephew
- 43:59Speaker 1: with today's prying phone call. Right after this you're listening
- 44:04Speaker 1: morning show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:07Speaker 1: right about four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today,
- 44:10Speaker 1: the subject I call you daddy, but I'm not your child. Okay,
- 44:14Speaker 1: we'll get into that, but first the nephew is here
- 44:18Speaker 1: with today's prying phone call. What you got for us? Neff,
- 44:21Speaker 1: give me my arm back? What huh? Cat dog, let's
- 44:28Speaker 1: go give me my arm back. Hello. Hello, I'm trying
- 44:34Speaker 1: to reach Philip. Yeah, that's this is Philip. Hey, how
- 44:38Speaker 1: are you doing? Who is this? Are you a Philip?
- 44:41Speaker 1: Is that who you are? Yes? This is Philip? Okay,
- 44:45Speaker 1: there is there is your son, dud, dude, you know
- 44:49Speaker 1: what Darius? Okay, calm down, Yes, okay, what's my son?
- 44:54Speaker 1: Calm down? First of all, is your son? Is he
- 44:57Speaker 1: there at the house right now? Okay? That okay, that's
- 45:00Speaker 1: not the issue. What the issue is what do you
- 45:02Speaker 1: what do you need? Sir? My name is Burns, okay,
- 45:06Speaker 1: and I lived two streets over from y'all. Do your
- 45:09Speaker 1: son play with a boy named Tim a Timmis. Yes,
- 45:11Speaker 1: they grew up together. They play ball together. That that's
- 45:15Speaker 1: where they are now. They playing ball right now? What
- 45:17Speaker 1: they playing ball? It right now sitting up down there
- 45:20Speaker 1: at the park. The play ball. And they don't say
- 45:22Speaker 1: always the part. That's what I need to know. I
- 45:24Speaker 1: need to know where they are. Let me tell you something.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Hold on saying, hold on, saying what you need to
- 45:29Speaker 1: know where they are for? And what what you're gonna do?
- 45:31Speaker 1: What is the problem my de boys there is and
- 45:34Speaker 1: pim come day. They were walking up my street today
- 45:37Speaker 1: and came over here. I have a prosthetic arm. My
- 45:41Speaker 1: right arm is prosthetic, and they know what hold hold
- 45:44Speaker 1: hold on saying, hold you say you got a prosthetic arm, Yes,
- 45:47Speaker 1: I do. My right arm is a prosthetic arm. And
- 45:51Speaker 1: the boys came over they got to do with my son.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Your boy and that boy Tim came over here and
- 45:56Speaker 1: pull my arm off of me and ran down the
- 45:58Speaker 1: street with it. To hold on saying, hold on, taking
- 46:02Speaker 1: old I'm saying, you try to tell me that that
- 46:05Speaker 1: that you lost your arm to my son and his
- 46:07Speaker 1: friend and they ran off with your arm. They went
- 46:10Speaker 1: and play basketball? Is that what you're telling me? So
- 46:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you that I don't know what. I didn't
- 46:14Speaker 1: know nothing about no basketball. They didn't came and took
- 46:17Speaker 1: my prostatic arm off for me. I'm I'm saying, hold on,
- 46:21Speaker 1: I'm saying, we tell you something that doesn't sound like
- 46:23Speaker 1: what something my son would do. Okay, exactly what they
- 46:27Speaker 1: do where they're going at all times, and that's not
- 46:29Speaker 1: something that they would do. I'm sick a players talking
- 46:32Speaker 1: about what their kid will do. It won't do. You
- 46:34Speaker 1: don't know what they do when they with y'all. I'm
- 46:36Speaker 1: glad you told me that, say at the part because
- 46:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna go right over here to this as far
- 46:40Speaker 1: as now and when I found him, I'm a woman,
- 46:43Speaker 1: can't get my all back. Okay, hold on, hold on,
- 46:46Speaker 1: hold on saying hold on, just hold everything, Okay, hold
- 46:49Speaker 1: on saying now, because you don't say that you won't
- 46:51Speaker 1: go do something that I know you don't really mean.
- 46:54Speaker 1: All right, say what I mean exactly what I'm saying.
- 46:58Speaker 1: They got my all? How you thinking feel just somebody
- 47:01Speaker 1: trying to take your arm? Sir? Okay, Look, let's try
- 47:03Speaker 1: to keep disrespectful all right, all right, you said they
- 47:06Speaker 1: got your arm, right, how about this, You're going to
- 47:10Speaker 1: go get my boys? Okay. First of all, I will
- 47:13Speaker 1: meet you at the park. All right, I will meet
- 47:15Speaker 1: you at the part, and we're gonna talk to talk
- 47:17Speaker 1: about the situation like like gentlemen. Okay, they know they
- 47:20Speaker 1: don't need for you to go down there and start
- 47:22Speaker 1: mettal with youngsters. Okay, all right, that's what we're gonna do.
- 47:25Speaker 1: You know, I'm still a good guy. They've got my all. Third,
- 47:30Speaker 1: with all due respect, okay, you're talking about my son,
- 47:33Speaker 1: and I know what he is capable of doing and
- 47:36Speaker 1: what he's not gonna do, and he don't disrespect the
- 47:39Speaker 1: older people like that, especially with somebody with a with
- 47:42Speaker 1: an impairment of disablement or whatever you got. I'm sorry
- 47:45Speaker 1: about your arm. I'm on the hill. I'm I'm trying. Man.
- 47:49Speaker 1: If you, of course, do you not think taking somebody
- 47:51Speaker 1: all is disrespectful. That's disrespectful to take off the old
- 47:55Speaker 1: man all and run down the street with sir, disrespectful,
- 47:59Speaker 1: But what it is not? What it is not disrespectful. Also,
- 48:02Speaker 1: as you telling me you're gonna go up there and
- 48:04Speaker 1: what my son and that's not gonna happen. Okay, I'm
- 48:07Speaker 1: going that's what I'm gonna do. I'm hung up as
- 48:11Speaker 1: soon as I get over the heads off. Okay a second, sir,
- 48:14Speaker 1: you're gonna do what to my sons? I'm anna son
- 48:17Speaker 1: up as soon as I get to this part. And
- 48:19Speaker 1: the ain't pittman that's with it because they took my
- 48:22Speaker 1: arm and they know they did it. I'm gonna okay,
- 48:24Speaker 1: let me tell you something. You don't call me up,
- 48:27Speaker 1: disrespecting me and threatening my son. Do you know what
- 48:29Speaker 1: you're talking to? I'll tell you what you do. Tell
- 48:32Speaker 1: you what you to commit to that part and just
- 48:34Speaker 1: read on my son wrong? Okay, say his name wrong? Okay,
- 48:38Speaker 1: say it, and then I'll tell you what I'm gonna do.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna take your other arm and I'm gonna beat here.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I don't think. Don't think. I can't who who this
- 48:48Speaker 1: going on? Because I'm there, I whoop you ain't your son?
- 48:51Speaker 1: Because going on? I'll punish you that. Okay, come on, family,
- 48:56Speaker 1: you ain't gonna know what to do with your life
- 48:57Speaker 1: because you can't find your arm. You ain't got no
- 48:59Speaker 1: sense here with the wrong people's family. All right, you
- 49:02Speaker 1: don't know. You don't know what happened to my arm.
- 49:05Speaker 1: You don't know how I lost my arm. You don't
- 49:08Speaker 1: know what happened. You quiet? You know you don't know

- 52:16Speaker 1: a problem as well. But still we got through it

- 52:21Speaker 1: telling me that they like it, yea, and more to come.
- 52:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm thinking this is this gonna sound crazy.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I'm thinking about putting together a monologue album where I

- 54:31Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. Thank you enough subject. I call you daddy,
- 54:35Speaker 1: but I'm not your child. Dear Stephen Shirley. My husband
- 54:39Speaker 1: and I have been together for nine years and married
- 54:41Speaker 1: for eight. One year after we met, I got pregnant
- 54:44Speaker 1: with our first child, so we got married right away.
- 54:48Speaker 1: He's an excellent provider and great father, but over the
- 54:51Speaker 1: years he started treating me like I'm his daughter. I
- 54:55Speaker 1: was twenty two when we met, and he's sixteen years
- 54:58Speaker 1: older than I am. I given everything to this man,
- 55:01Speaker 1: and he fails to see that I am a grown
- 55:04Speaker 1: woman now. When we first started dating, he exposed me
- 55:07Speaker 1: to a different lifestyle, and he loves to say it's
- 55:10Speaker 1: a better way of life. At a young age, I
- 55:13Speaker 1: had a house, I had access to two cars, I
- 55:16Speaker 1: had credit cards and designer purses. But my friends eventually
- 55:20Speaker 1: stopped hanging around me because I was so different. I
- 55:24Speaker 1: haven't worked in a long time, and I am longing
- 55:27Speaker 1: to be normal and do some of the things I
- 55:29Speaker 1: enjoy doing. My activities are with him and our two children,
- 55:33Speaker 1: and if I'm not with them, I hang out with
- 55:35Speaker 1: my mom. I have a group of female cousins that
- 55:38Speaker 1: invited me on a girl's trip last month, but my
- 55:41Speaker 1: husband did not think it was such a good idea
- 55:43Speaker 1: because of the pandemic. I agree. I did agree with him,
- 55:47Speaker 1: and I told him we decided that we postponed the
- 55:50Speaker 1: trip till next year. He told me I was not
- 55:53Speaker 1: going period. Okay, I guessed and had to gather myself
- 55:59Speaker 1: before I let him have it. He'd never seen me
- 56:02Speaker 1: angry like that, and I snapped and yelled to him
- 56:04Speaker 1: that he is not my daddy and I was going
- 56:07Speaker 1: to start doing things I want to do when I
- 56:10Speaker 1: want to do them. His only response was, not living
- 56:13Speaker 1: in my house. You won't I heard him, loud and clear,
- 56:17Speaker 1: and it broke my heart. I feel like I missed
- 56:20Speaker 1: out on a lot by being married so young. How
- 56:22Speaker 1: can I get my husband to understand this? Oh, he
- 56:25Speaker 1: understands it quite well. He understands a whole lot. He
- 56:32Speaker 1: knows you missed out in a lot. He married you
- 56:34Speaker 1: when you were twenty two and he was sixteen years
- 56:38Speaker 1: older than you, so he knows. He knows the game,
- 56:41Speaker 1: he knows what's going on. But what he didn't count
- 56:44Speaker 1: on was you growing up and coming into your own
- 56:47Speaker 1: and becoming a woman and having a voice and all
- 56:50Speaker 1: of that. Obviously, he didn't figure into that, because what
- 56:53Speaker 1: grown man would tell another grown person, not in my house,
- 56:57Speaker 1: you won't. Yeah, you're you're right. Your dad would tell
- 56:59Speaker 1: you that at or if your mom, if you're living
- 57:02Speaker 1: in their house. But U no, not your husband. He's
- 57:05Speaker 1: not supposed to talk to you that way. You should
- 57:07Speaker 1: have reminded him. He wasn't your daddy when he first
- 57:10Speaker 1: started treating you like this, But you were getting all
- 57:13Speaker 1: the bags, and you were had the cars and the
- 57:15Speaker 1: nice home and all of that. And see, not speaking
- 57:18Speaker 1: up for yourself kind of cost you in this regard.
- 57:22Speaker 1: It made him think that it was okay that you
- 57:24Speaker 1: were going along with it. And it doesn't sound like
- 57:26Speaker 1: he cared much anyway, because he's controlling. This man is controlling,
- 57:31Speaker 1: and it's the worst kind of controlling too, thinking, you know,
- 57:35Speaker 1: he can just keep you under under wraps or whatever
- 57:39Speaker 1: for for that amount of time, you know, and you're
- 57:42Speaker 1: never supposed to spread your wings and be who you're
- 57:45Speaker 1: supposed to be in life. I think you know you
- 57:47Speaker 1: need to tell him that he's saying, not in his house,
- 57:50Speaker 1: it's your house too. I don't care if you have
- 57:53Speaker 1: never paid a bill, it's still your house. That's where
- 57:55Speaker 1: you that's where you are as his wife, as the
- 57:58Speaker 1: mother of their children, all of that. You know, you
- 58:01Speaker 1: gotta tell him to please stop treating you and talking
- 58:03Speaker 1: to you like you're a child. You gotta have your say.
- 58:07Speaker 1: You gotta let him know if he's not willing to
- 58:09Speaker 1: sit down and have an adult conversation with you about
- 58:12Speaker 1: seeing you as a grown woman who needs to spend
- 58:15Speaker 1: time who you need to spend time with your girlfriends
- 58:17Speaker 1: and your family and things like that. You just can't
- 58:20Speaker 1: stay up under him for the rest of your life.
- 58:24Speaker 1: I think it's always worth a try to go the
- 58:26Speaker 1: professional route and get some sort of professional counseling, professional
- 58:29Speaker 1: marriage counseling. He doesn't seem like the type that will
- 58:32Speaker 1: go for that, though, So your marriage is in trouble.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Your marriage is doomed if you don't do something like that,
- 58:38Speaker 1: get some professionals in there. You know, if he can't
- 58:43Speaker 1: do that, you might have to tell him by. It
- 58:45Speaker 1: doesn't sound like you're ready for that, but you know
- 58:48Speaker 1: you might have to put your big girl pants on
- 58:50Speaker 1: and tell him by because this kind of control, it's
- 58:53Speaker 1: not gonna get any better, It's only gonna get worse. Jay,
- 58:57Speaker 1: here we go. Okay, the hours. Write just down, miss,
- 59:01Speaker 1: write just down the hours that you need to do
- 59:03Speaker 1: whatever you want to do. Go with your friends, or
- 59:07Speaker 1: after six, after six in the evening, maybe seven, six
- 59:14Speaker 1: or seven in the evening, two maybe four o'clock at
- 59:18Speaker 1: night when he wake up to pe. So you got
- 59:20Speaker 1: those hours right there. From six, that's your time because
- 59:26Speaker 1: he gonna be going to bed, and you just go
- 59:28Speaker 1: to whole go the whole route, go to bed. Laid
- 59:31Speaker 1: down that, yeah, put it on him, put it on down.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Now you got from six to first p which is
- 59:38Speaker 1: about two thirty maybe three thirty, and then you need
- 59:44Speaker 1: to be back in the house. That's it your life.
- 59:47Speaker 1: You get back for first peak. You good girl. You
- 59:52Speaker 1: have yourself some fun. I like it, Jay, as long
- 59:55Speaker 1: as the kids are taken care of it. I like
- 59:56Speaker 1: it all right. Junior, we got a couple of okay,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: but Junior, we'll get to you when we come back
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: from break, and of course the nephew, we'll get back
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to you when we come back from break. We'll have
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: part two of the Strawberry letter respond to twenty three
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, subject I call you daddy, but
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I'm not your child. We'll be back right after this,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: you're listening to the Stave Harvey Morning Show to recap
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: this strawberry letter. This crazy letter subject I call you daddy,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: but I'm not your child. A woman was twenty three
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: when she met her husband. They've been married for eight years.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: She's known him for nine. He's sixteen years older than her.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: She's a grown woman now, but he keeps treating her
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: like a child. You know. He bought her all the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: designer stuff, the bags, the nice home, the nice cars.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: When she hangs out, it's just with him, the kids,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: or with her mom when they're not around. Her girlfriend,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: her older cousins, her girl cousins asked her to go
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: on a girl's trip with them, and because of that,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: her husband said he didn't think it was a great idea.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: So she said, I agreed with him, and we're gonna
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: postpone the trip until next year. He said, you're not
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: going period. She gasped, yeah, had to gather herself and
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: then she let him have it. He's never seen her
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: angry like that before, she said. She told him she
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: was gonna start doing things when she wanted and whenever
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: she wanted, and his only response to that was not
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: living in my house. She won't. She said, right, this
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: is her husband, not her daddy. She's say that. I
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: don't want to say that. No, this is horrible. He's
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a controlling man, very controlling. Yeah. So okay, junior, Uh
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: what do you have to say to respond man? The
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: man is controlling and thinking about this. You know, young lady,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: to be honest with you, This is what I have
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the best advice I can get. Go get yo daddy.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: See see see that's what you need. Go. He tells
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: what you can't do. All this you can't go to do.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Go get your daddy. Tell him to talk to your
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: daddy like that. They bout the same mate, So I think, really,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: it ain't nothing off here. Just go get your daddy.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: They probably went to school together. It don't matter. Go
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: get your daddy. Move your daddy in the house. See,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: let your daddy get a bad room. And then let
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: your daddy say where are you going? Yeah? Okay, I
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: like not in my house. You knock all right, Temmy.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: The subject is I call you daddy, but I'm not
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: your child. This man treats his wife like a child,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: to her like she's his daughter. What you got this
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: to me is straight up colored purple the mister, and
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: see Lee. That's what this is all day long? Why
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: got that meal box fixed? Bed night? Catch you messing
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: rhyn with it? That's what this is all day So
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: you got to fight fire with five? You know what?
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Since he's doing this, give give in to it for
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: a second. Walk with time to do this. Ask for
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: permission for everything you want to do, every time you
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: want to do. So when y'all sitting out in health,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: donal don't eat nothing? Just sit there at the table.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: What's around with you? Why you even permission? So I
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: want to have permission to eat? I get something to easa?
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Is it I right? If I easa? It's okay with you?
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: When you when it's trying to take the kids to school,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: sit in the driveway with the kids in the car.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Don't even crank up, Just sit out there. He'll be
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: out there in a minute. Why y'all ain't go permission? Sir?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Need the permission to drive the kids to the school.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: So is that all right? Sir? Can I go to
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: the school? Sir? Matter fact? When he when here in
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: the bed get butt necking and just staying there? What's
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: going on? To permission? Sir? Permission to have sex with
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: your stuff? Is it trying to have sex with your time? Nasa?
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: That sex with your son? All right, go in the bathroom,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: sit on the target, but don't go. Just sit there.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Why you got the door permission? So trying to wait
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: till you come back so I can see if I
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: can go? Can I go? Can I go? Yes? Sir?
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Is it all right with you? Nast huh? Matter fact?
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Don't even take no bath for about four five eight?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Just walk around fuck him and just stand outside the shower.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: But Nick, and when he come in there permissions, suf?
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Can I get permission to go take a bath? Says
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: and I'll write with you I take a bath? Fight
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: five without do exactly what he talking about. He wants
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: you to ask him for everything. That's what you need
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: to do. I have a wife as a as a
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: next year we will I can't even tell you how
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: many years it is. But there's a lot of yells.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: My wife can do what she wants to do, go
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: what she wants to go. I want her to have that.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Why why would I want to tell my wife what
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: you can and can't do. I want my wife to
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: go on girls trips. I want her to have some fun.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I bust, I bust my butt and work across this
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: country so my wife can do what she wants to
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: do and have as much fun. Because back in the
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: day before I got to be nephew Tommy, my wife
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: carried the load. She carried me. He is the reason
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: why I am where I am. Why can't I let
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: her be who she want to be? Go do what
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you I want to do. Girl, you want to range road? Boom,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna get you a range road. That's what you want.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: You got you a range road. You go, you ride, girl,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Go do your thing. I got you. You carried the
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: load for ten twelve years. I got the load, now, man, please,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: that's right. I got on my soapbox. I apologize now now, Jay,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: were you like that when you were married? Like Mary?
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: That's what I'm not mad because I don't want nobody
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: to asking permission to do a damn. I mean, I
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: can do what the hell I want to do, and
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: I gotta check with nobody. I ain't got to go
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: work for nobody. Everything in that fridger and it is mine.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Coming come morning, you got to leave at night, and
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: coming night, you got to leave in the morning. That's
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: how I live my life. I'm having for timing, having
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: for color and fusty, but I'm also happy. Okay, That's
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: why I took a long time to get married, because
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: that's what marriage represented to me. You had to check in,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: you had to ask, you had to do all yes.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: That's what it represented to me. So it always scared
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: me away. It took me for That's why I was
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: always against marriage for that very reason. Let me let
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: you hear what marriage sounds like to me. Right listen
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: poster comments on today's Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey FM

- 1:07:49Speaker 1: but they ain't got to win the game. Let it
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: go a little longer. Need these games and then he
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: got through it, but they ain't gotta win it. Yeah,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: we just need that man. So but also man, we
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: gotta give a congratulations man to Lebron James. Lebron James
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: has become the latest athlete to grace the box of wheaties.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: That is a big honor for he is on the
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: wheaties box. Um General Mills picked the Lakers to celebrate
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: his efforts on both on and off the court. He's
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: actually Grace in the box along with images of children
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: and family and faculty from his Eye Promise program and
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: the Eye Promise Schools for underprivileged kids in Africana, Ohio. Man,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: So he's not just gonna be on the box. He's
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: taking the families of old yeah, man, Yeah, yeah, that's
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I love Lebron James. Man about this guy, Mann, James Man,

- 1:08:52Speaker 1: nothing like what you like him. He's a father, he married, Yeah,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: he had been his man. He helped everybody. Why you
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: don't like you know why you don't like because you
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: ain't doing that with your life. That's why. That's why
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: you like Lebron. Right, You're like, yeah, he's an activist.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: He helps everybody. Man, I'm proudly man hat soft to Lebron.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Ain't't hate on me. You know, you know why they
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: don't like Lebron. You know what, I don't like Lebron
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: because they're on the other side of the ball. That's why.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Because you're on the other side of the ball. Because
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: he's coming at you here in the air. Baby from
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: the pre thow line man, you have to make a

- 1:09:49Speaker 1: we do. Coming up at the top of the hour, Well,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: you know October is breast cancer Awareness and domestic violence awareness. Money,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: awareness is power. We'll talk about it at the top
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: of the hour. Right after this you're listening to well Carla,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: as you know, October is breast cancer Awareness and Domestic
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Violence Awareness month. You're gonna tell us about what you
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: have going on. I'll tell you about domestic violence awareness.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Go ahead, Carla. Thank you. Shirley. Um, you know, October is,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: just like Shirley said, breastcancer Awareness month. And um, I
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: am involved with Sister Strut, you know, like every year,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: and Shirley has done Sister Strut with me. You know,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: We've gone all over the country and this weekend in Chicago.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Last weekend we did Saint Louis. But of course Sister
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Strut is virtual. It's a virtual celebration. But the cool
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: thing about it being virtual is that you can walk
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: at any time during the month of October, especially for
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: all of our listeners that listen to us, be one
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: or three in Chicago and thank you. You guys made
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: us no. But one in the show, so we appreciate
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you guys. For more information, sure you hit me up
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: on Instagram at lips by Carla. Now the proceeds will
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: we're asking for donations. You know, money will go towards
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: research and helping different community organizations in the city and
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: the Chicago this weekend proceeds will go to the Sisters
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Network of Chicago, and it is an organization that help
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: women of color, African American women breast cancer, self breast examination,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: just taking care of themselves, mamor Graham, giving them all
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: kinds of information and support. And actually the Sisters Network
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: actually worked with my mom. My mom was a part
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: of that, the Sisters Network in Houston, so they are
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: a big nationwide organization. Next weekend I will be strutting
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: virtually with Detroit and Philly, so yeah, yeah, yeah, So
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: if you all, I want to shout out to all
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the survivors, all of our pink warriors out there, thank you,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: God bless you. We're gonna kick cancers. But but you guys,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: that's right, Carla. Well you know October it's pink and purple.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Of course, pink is for breast cancer awareness and the
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: purple is for domestic violence awareness. A lot of people say, well,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: why you know, do you do work with domestic violence
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: because a lot of people don't know. I was a
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: victim of domestic violence many years ago when I was
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: much younger. But I'm happy to say I'm no longer
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: a victim. I'm a victor now, you know, PRATORI and everything. Yes, definitely,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: But I've been involved in working with the Almagee Davis
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Foundation dot org. I'm saying that right now for some time.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: For some time now. It's a domestic violence awareness group,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: and this October I'm going to be walking with the
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: foundation on their mission to end domestic violence. It's not
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: we don't hear a lot about it. It's not a
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: pretty topic to talk about. You know, getting beat down
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: in your home. You know, that's not pretty. It's not sexy,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: but it's been going on the Alma G. Davis Foundation
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: for fifteen years. Alma herself, it's a real person. She
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: is a domestic violence survivor. She's helped more than ten
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: thousand domestic violence survivors and forty five thousand families impacted
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: by domestic violence. I want to help her do more.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Domestic violence is always critical, but especially now during COVID
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: There's been eighty three and eighty three percent increase in
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: domestic violence reports since twenty twenty began. That's serious right
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: there in this covidler at home. Yeah, those are some
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: serious numbers. Already ten million people in the US have
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: been impacted by domestic violence. So what I'm asking you
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: to do is join me on my walk with the
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Alma G. Davis Foundation to End Domestic Violence. Their event
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: is called Walk a Mile in Their Shoes. It's going
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: to be virtual like everything else this year is going
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: to help bring awareness and thousands more survivors. Okay, that's
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: what one. I created a team. It's called the Strawberry Steppers. Okay,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: we're trying to raise money, Yeah, trying to raise money
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: for awareness for domestic violence. The money goes to education, housing,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: financial literacy. You can walk or raise money from anywhere. Okay.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: So to find out more about the Alma Gee Davis
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Foundation dot org and how you can register to walk
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: with me, please go to my Instagram at my Girl Shirley.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Click on the link in my bio. Okay, click on
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: the You don't have to walk, You can swim, play basketball,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: do all of that. Okay, all right, thank you. We
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: appreciate it so much, all of your support. Coming up
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: bet twenty minutes after the hour, we'll have more news,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: trending topics and more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: All right, Tommy, this trending voting story is for you, Okay. Celebrities, yes,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: have you heard about this? Celebrities are stripping down naked

- 1:15:17Speaker 1: are naked. What do I send it to? What I
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: need to do? Oh God? Can you be excited about this?
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: It's about naked ballots, which refers to mail in ballots
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: that aren't properly filled out or returned in the correct envelope. Okay.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: The video was produced by an organization called represent Us,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: and it's intended to help mail in voters make their
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: vote count because in some Yes, Jane, I love it.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Let's do it. Let's set it in. When you get
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: your mail in ballots, Yeah, ballot, you gotta read it. Guys,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you gotta read it and pay attention. Sometimes they just
