- 0:00Speaker 1: Two Democratic senators now, Corey Booker and Alex Badia have
- 0:03Speaker 1: a new bill out. They want to require CVP and
- 0:05Speaker 1: ICE officers to have legible IDs, and they don't want
- 0:09Speaker 1: CBP or ICE officers covering their faces. Would you ever
- 0:13Speaker 1: sign that?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Well, they wouldn't be saying that if they didn't hate
- 0:17Speaker 2: our country. This is the problem with the Democrats have
- 0:20Speaker 2: They have a lot of bad things going on in
- 0:22Speaker 2: their heads. They've lost their confidence number one, and they're
- 0:26Speaker 2: really does it come somewhat deranged?
- 0:29Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Good Friday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:35Speaker 4: the forty seven Morning Up, Bet, and we've got two
- 0:37Speaker 4: major stories for you that we're going to cover. First up,
- 0:39Speaker 4: the White House blaming Democrats now for a massive spike
- 0:43Speaker 4: and assaults on ICE agents up more than seven hundred percent.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Why is this happening? We've got the receipts from Democrats
- 0:53Speaker 4: who have been calling for the assault on ICE agents
- 0:55Speaker 4: and we will expose them in a moment. Also, we
- 0:59Speaker 4: are seeing now some Secret Service agents are being held
- 1:02Speaker 4: accountable for the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and Butler
- 1:06Speaker 4: Pennsylvania sort of why do they hardly get anything. We'll
- 1:11Speaker 4: give you the details on that coming up as well.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:18Speaker 4: We are seeing radical mayors and governors around the country
- 1:23Speaker 4: doing everything they can to go after ICE agents, and
- 1:27Speaker 4: we are seeing a massive spike in the number of
- 1:29Speaker 4: ICE agents that have been assaulted. The White House now
- 1:32Speaker 4: stepping out blaming the Democrats for this spike and assaults
- 1:37Speaker 4: on ICE agents nationwide. The White House on Wednesday accusing
- 1:41Speaker 4: Democrats oppose the President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration
- 1:46Speaker 4: of stoking violence directly against immigration and custom enforcement agents.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Quote as ICE agents risk their lives to secure our
- 1:55Speaker 4: borders and protect our communities. They're now facing a seven
- 2:00Speaker 4: one hundred percent surge in assaults a direct consequence of dangerous,
- 2:05Speaker 4: inflammatory rhetoric from Democratic politicians, the White House saying in
- 2:10Speaker 4: a statement titled Democrats inspire vicious, escalating attacks on ICE Now.
- 2:16Speaker 4: The report listed three recent attacks at ICE facilities in
- 2:20Speaker 4: Texas and Oregon, including a July fourth ambush near the
- 2:26Speaker 4: Prairie Land Attention Center in Alvarado, Texas. One officer there
- 2:32Speaker 4: was shot in the neck and multiple armed suspects were
- 2:35Speaker 4: taken into custody. The injured officer was treated at a
- 2:38Speaker 4: Fort Worth hospital. Thank goodness, he was released now. The
- 2:42Speaker 4: documents also list examples of unhinged Democrats in citing rhetoric
- 2:48Speaker 4: and lies. The House Minority Leader Kim Jeffreys of New
- 2:52Speaker 4: York implored people to quote fight the Trump administration in
- 2:56Speaker 4: the streets quote unquote, and declared ICE agents will be
- 3:01Speaker 4: unsuccessful in protecting their identities no matter what it takes,
- 3:06Speaker 4: wanting to docs ICE agents and put them and their
- 3:09Speaker 4: family's lives at risk. Representative Jpel of Washington State called
- 3:14Speaker 4: ICE agents deranged and said it is inspiring quote unquote
- 3:19Speaker 4: to obstruct immigration enforcement. Yes, she's an elected official in Congress.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Representative mc iver of New Jersey, who is arrested and
- 3:29Speaker 4: charged with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers outside
- 3:34Speaker 4: ICE attention facility, incited her supporters to quote shut down
- 3:40Speaker 4: the city because quote we are at war. Minnesota Governor
- 3:45Speaker 4: and former vice presidential candidate Tim Waltz said this, calling
- 3:50Speaker 4: Ice agency modern day gestapo. The Chicago Mayor Johnson accused
- 3:58Speaker 4: I being the quote secret police police and terrorizing our communities.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Representative Eric Swallwell of California said it was his quote
- 4:08Speaker 4: unquote priority to ensure ICE agents are no longer faceless,
- 4:14Speaker 4: comparing them to some eighteen hundreds bank robber or some
- 4:18Speaker 4: KGB officer in Russia. All of the people I just
- 4:23Speaker 4: mentioned are elected officials going after our men and women
- 4:27Speaker 4: in uniform. Now. On Tuesday, Democratic Senator Padilla of California
- 4:33Speaker 4: and Corey Booker of New Jersey also went crazy, introducing
- 4:38Speaker 4: legislation to require immigration enforcement officers to quote display clearly
- 4:44Speaker 4: visible IDs and not wear masks during public enforcement operations,
- 4:49Speaker 4: accusing the Trump administration of quote alarming immigration enforcement tactics
- 4:55Speaker 4: that have terrorized communities across California in the nation. Now,
- 4:59Speaker 4: you may ask why some ICE agents are wearing masks.
- 5:03Speaker 4: One simple reason, to protect themselves and their families from
- 5:08Speaker 4: the radical left who is trying to dock their location,
- 5:11Speaker 4: even having apps to tell you where this is happening,
- 5:15Speaker 4: and people that are then putting their children online. Charles Marino,
- 5:20Speaker 4: a former senior advisor to the Department of Homelanned Security
- 5:23Speaker 4: in Trump's first term, told Newsmax on Wednesday that the
- 5:27Speaker 4: left doesn't care quote unquote that its rhetoric is endangering
- 5:31Speaker 4: the lives of federal law enforcement agents by inciting this
- 5:35Speaker 4: type of violence, saying, quote the rhetoric from the left
- 5:38Speaker 4: is bringing out the crazies. It's as simple as this.
- 5:42Speaker 4: We saw it during the assassination attempts on President Trump,
- 5:45Speaker 4: where this rhetoric about him being a threat to democracy
- 5:49Speaker 4: brought out people that wanted to do him significant harm
- 5:53Speaker 4: and take him out of the picture. And it continues
- 5:56Speaker 4: here now against law enforcement. This goes back to the
- 5:59Speaker 4: original story of those that tried to assassinate people that
- 6:04Speaker 4: work in law enforcement on July fourth at their own headquarters.
- 6:08Speaker 4: President however, is promising to not stop enforcing American laws
- 6:13Speaker 4: no matter what threats are now coming from the Democratic Party.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Now, story number two, I want.
- 6:18Speaker 4: To take you back in time to a story that
- 6:21Speaker 4: happened what about a year ago, and that was the
- 6:24Speaker 4: major assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. You know,
- 6:29Speaker 4: the one where luckily he moved his head a little
- 6:31Speaker 4: bit and that bullet hit his ear instead of taking
- 6:34Speaker 4: his head off. We now know that six Secret Service
- 6:38Speaker 4: agents have been suspended over that Donald Trump assassination attempt.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Now let me give you some of the facts on
- 6:44Speaker 4: this so you understand what this means. The US Secret
- 6:47Speaker 4: Service has placed these six agents on suspension without pay
- 6:51Speaker 4: for durations ranging from ten days to forty five days.
- 6:56Speaker 4: And the accounts slightly vary from what I'm hearing on
- 6:59Speaker 4: Capitol ill why due to security failures. They're now saying
- 7:03Speaker 4: I have been assessed during that assassination attempt July the
- 7:07Speaker 4: thirteenth at that rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Now, those discipline
- 7:11Speaker 4: include agents at various ranks, okay, supervisor staff, line agents,
- 7:17Speaker 4: a counter sniper, members of the Pittsburgh Field Office, and
- 7:20Speaker 4: the site walked through coordinator as well. Now, the nature
- 7:24Speaker 4: of the lapse was obviously so egregious that there's a
- 7:27Speaker 4: lot of people there's shocked that more people haven't been fired.
- 7:30Speaker 4: So what is it's all about. Well, the investigation revealed
- 7:35Speaker 4: serious coordination and communication breakdowns that day, such as unsecured rooftops,
- 7:41Speaker 4: missing radios, wrong drone cables, and poor integration with local
- 7:48Speaker 4: law enforcement. A Senate briefing we also are now being told,
- 7:51Speaker 4: found that the shooter was spotted on the rooftop at
- 7:55Speaker 4: least ten minutes before Trump took the stage, yet preventive
- 8:00Speaker 4: action was taken, which is totally insane. Why so many
- 8:04Speaker 4: people think this could have been a setup, that there
- 8:06Speaker 4: is a real conspiracy theory here and based on what
- 8:08Speaker 4: we know by the way of the RFK assassination, there's
- 8:12Speaker 4: a real legitimacy to asking every question on the table.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I'm one of those, by the way, I want to
- 8:18Speaker 4: make that very clear now, they're also been lack you
- 8:22Speaker 4: could argue of consequences and accountability. Yes, the former Secret
- 8:25Speaker 4: Service director resigned in July of last year, citing responsibility
- 8:29Speaker 4: over the agency's most significant operational failure in decades. But
- 8:33Speaker 4: outside that, what really happened well. The acting leadership under
- 8:36Speaker 4: Deputy Director Matt Quinn and Director Sean Karan, who was
- 8:41Speaker 4: on site and shielded Trump during the shooting, affirm suspensions
- 8:45Speaker 4: are aimed at systemic reform quote unquote, not blame or firings,
- 8:50Speaker 4: Quinn said, saying, quote we are laser focused on fixing
- 8:54Speaker 4: the root cause. We aren't going to fire our way
- 8:57Speaker 4: out of this now. Mat Quinn also emphasize ongoing reform,
- 9:01Speaker 4: saying once inoperative equipment like drones and mobile command centers
- 9:06Speaker 4: are being upgraded and coordination with local law enforce is
- 9:10Speaker 4: being enhanced. There was clearly a major separation that day
- 9:14Speaker 4: where police could even talk to the Secret Service, and
- 9:17Speaker 4: that ten minute lapse from the time they saw him
- 9:19Speaker 4: on the rooftop before Trump took the stage as a
- 9:21Speaker 4: perfect example of that. Now there's also been the public
- 9:25Speaker 4: reaction to this. Many Americans do not believe, for example,
- 9:30Speaker 4: that this was handled appropriately. I'll give you another example.
- 9:33Speaker 4: The widow of the firefighter his name was Corey, who
- 9:37Speaker 4: was killed by a straight bullet, slammed the Secret Service,
- 9:40Speaker 4: labeling their performance as quote a hot mess, and calling
- 9:43Speaker 4: for accountability and explanation because if they would have done
- 9:46Speaker 4: their job, there's a very good chance that her husband,
- 9:49Speaker 4: Corey would still be with us. We also know that
- 9:52Speaker 4: there's been a bipartisan House task force deemed the assassination
- 9:57Speaker 4: attempt quote unquote preventable. Now off into Republicans and Democrats
- 10:01Speaker 4: agree on anything when you are Republicans and Democrats and
- 10:07Speaker 4: you come together, and the assassination Attempt report says that
- 10:10Speaker 4: this was preventable. That happened in December. By the way
- 10:14Speaker 4: of last year, the report was issued about a dozen
- 10:17Speaker 4: recommendations aimed at strengthening the security protocols as well. That
- 10:22Speaker 4: worries me that those recommendations are coming from Congress and
- 10:25Speaker 4: weren't already in place by the Secret Service. Now, various
- 10:28Speaker 4: people have praised the disciplinary measures and reforms, noting the
- 10:33Speaker 4: agency has taken responsibility and implementing structural change that is
- 10:38Speaker 4: in theory good. But the big question is is it
- 10:40Speaker 4: enough saying we're not going to fire our way out
- 10:43Speaker 4: of this? What does that mean? The only way that
- 10:45Speaker 4: you get fired is if there is an actual dead president.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I mean, the lack of accountability here is incredible. And
- 10:52Speaker 4: let's just go back to the private sector if you
- 10:55Speaker 4: and look, I've had death threats against me. I've had
- 10:57Speaker 4: security that I've had to have. Unfortunately in my career,
- 11:01Speaker 4: I carry a firearm virtually everywhere I go and when
- 11:04Speaker 4: I do an event and there's security there. If I
- 11:07Speaker 4: was shot the way that Donald Trump was and there
- 11:09Speaker 4: was a line of sight venue, and that's the whole
- 11:12Speaker 4: job of the Secret Service to make sure that doesn't
- 11:14Speaker 4: happen where there's a short range line of sight directly
- 11:18Speaker 4: the president's head. And that's what happened in Butler. The
- 11:21Speaker 4: idea that we're quote not going to fire our way
- 11:23Speaker 4: out of this. I still think is kind of absurd
- 11:26Speaker 4: and I'm not like to fire everyone. What I am
- 11:28Speaker 4: saying is is like, come on outside, the Secret Service
- 11:32Speaker 4: director who resigned. You're telling me basically, no one's been fired.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I don't understand that. In the private sector, whether this
- 11:40Speaker 4: is a celebrity, a sports star, a former politician, a
- 11:46Speaker 4: whatever it may be, if this happened in the private sector,
- 11:49Speaker 4: a CEO of a company, there would no doubt be
- 11:52Speaker 4: massive amounts of people that would be fired because of
- 11:55Speaker 4: the event. Why is it in government we don't fire people.
- 12:00Speaker 4: It drives me insane. And if you look at the
- 12:02Speaker 4: six agents that receive these suspensions ranging from ten to
- 12:06Speaker 4: forty two days as part of a quote broader effort
- 12:08Speaker 4: to address serious protective failures, does it get any more
- 12:11Speaker 4: serious than an assassination attempt on the president units it's
- 12:14Speaker 4: America and multiple rounds going at his body, Like this
- 12:18Speaker 4: is the biggest failure you can have without death, and
- 12:20Speaker 4: no one gets fired, and you're like, all right, well,
- 12:22Speaker 4: you're not gonna get paid for ten to forty two days.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I don't know if that's the right message that we
- 12:26Speaker 4: should be sending right now now with the prior director's resignation.
- 12:30Speaker 4: They went on to say, and emphasis on root cause
- 12:33Speaker 4: fixes and improved interagency coordination and upgrade equipment. The Secret
- 12:38Speaker 4: Services undergoing reforms intended to prevent such laps as in
- 12:41Speaker 4: the future. That's all great again, Why is it that
- 12:45Speaker 4: no one has been fired in the private sector. You
- 12:49Speaker 4: screw up like this, you are fired, period. You are fired.
