- 0:00Speaker 1: Secure our border, and we're stopping the invasion of our country.
- 0:03Speaker 1: You know, our border right now is more secure than
- 0:05Speaker 1: it's ever been four weeks. Today is our fourth week
- 0:08Speaker 1: end of the week. We've done more than four weeks, well,
- 0:11Speaker 1: certainly than the last administration did in four years. They
- 0:14Speaker 1: actually went to the wrong direction.
- 0:16Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Well, happy Friday morning, you made it to the weekend.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Ben Ferguson with you, and here are the big stories
- 0:25Speaker 3: we're covering today on the forty seven Morning up Date.
- 0:28Speaker 3: First up, Donald Trump paying off on a massive promise
- 0:31Speaker 3: from the campaign, putting the US on track to have
- 0:33Speaker 3: the lowest monthly border crossings and more than a quarter
- 0:37Speaker 3: of a century. Also, Donald Trump moves even closer to
- 0:40Speaker 3: ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. There's a very
- 0:43Speaker 3: good chance to'll be meeting face to face with Vladimir
- 0:45Speaker 3: Putin in the coming days. And finally, congratulations, your government's
- 0:49Speaker 3: getting smaller as the Trump administration has begun mass layoffs
- 0:53Speaker 3: across multiple federal agencies. How much money is it going
- 0:56Speaker 3: to save you as a taxpayer. I'll have some of
- 0:58Speaker 3: those figures for you. Coming up. It's the forty seven
- 1:00Speaker 3: Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:03Speaker 3: When it comes to border security, it's very clear right
- 1:06Speaker 3: now there are two Americas. The border is being secured
- 1:09Speaker 3: before our very eyes, and democratic jurisdictions are now turning
- 1:13Speaker 3: a blind eye to illegal aliens and their activity. The
- 1:17Speaker 3: good news is the Trump administration is still willing to
- 1:20Speaker 3: go and get the illegal immigrants, even in sanctuary cities,
- 1:24Speaker 3: and they're even willing to use the law to go
- 1:26Speaker 3: after those that are protecting illegal immigrants. We also now
- 1:30Speaker 3: have a major update about just how tight the border
- 1:33Speaker 3: has become. In less than a month since Trump got
- 1:36Speaker 3: into the Oval office, illegal border crossings have already hit
- 1:40Speaker 3: a record low after Trump's swift crackdown and could be
- 1:45Speaker 3: on track for levels not seen in sixty years. So
- 1:48Speaker 3: far in February, about three hundred and fifty nine illegal
- 1:52Speaker 3: migrants per day have been caught across the entire southern border.
- 1:56Speaker 3: That is down more than ninety percent from February of
- 2:00Speaker 3: last year. With Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had their
- 2:03Speaker 3: open border policy on full display, that puts the US
- 2:07Speaker 3: on track to have the lowest monthly border crossings in
- 2:11Speaker 3: at least a quarter of a century. If the trend continues,
- 2:14Speaker 3: the number of illegal migrants coming into the US had
- 2:17Speaker 3: had a level not seen since nineteen sixty eight, nearly
- 2:21Speaker 3: sixty years ago. What's even more interesting than that is
- 2:24Speaker 3: how Democrats are doing everything in their power to attack
- 2:28Speaker 3: Donald Trump and the borders are Tom Homan. Tom went
- 2:32Speaker 3: on Fox and Friends and had this to say about
- 2:35Speaker 3: the President's leadership and what it means for the people
- 2:39Speaker 3: in America.
- 2:40Speaker 4: President's doing a great job. And I want to say this. Look,
- 2:43Speaker 4: I worked for six presidents. I think President Trump's the
- 2:45Speaker 4: greatest president in my lifetime. He proves it every day.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Every day he proves to me why he is the
- 2:50Speaker 4: greatest president in my lifetime. Border numbers are down over
- 2:53Speaker 4: ninety percent in three weeks. Think about that. I worked
- 2:56Speaker 4: tired at it. You know, Christi Nolan's working hard at it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: You know the border, the chief of Trolley's working hard that.
- 3:02Speaker 4: But it was President Trump's executive orders that was a
- 3:04Speaker 4: game changer, right And we already got over six almost
- 3:07Speaker 4: sixteen thousand people we rest in the interior. That's three
- 3:10Speaker 4: times more than Joe Biden had a year. From now,
- 3:12Speaker 4: but it's not enough. We got to do more. But
- 3:14Speaker 4: President thumps leadership. When you when you get ninety percent
- 3:17Speaker 4: less people coming across the border, how many women aren't
- 3:20Speaker 4: being raped by the cartels, how many children aren't drawing?
- 3:22Speaker 4: How many how many women children aren't being sex tracked
- 3:24Speaker 4: in this country. President Trump's a game changer. And every
- 3:27Speaker 4: day I'll I'll say a one hundred times. Every day
- 3:29Speaker 4: he proves to me why he's the greatest president in
- 3:31Speaker 4: my lifetime, with you.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Why he's the greatest president of my lifetime. Border numbers
- 3:35Speaker 3: are down over ninety percent in three weeks. It is
- 3:38Speaker 3: incredible when you hear these numbers come from the borders
- 3:41Speaker 3: are now. To be clear, Democrats are not going down
- 3:44Speaker 3: without a fight. They're doing everything they can to undermine
- 3:47Speaker 3: a secure border, and they're doing everything they can to
- 3:49Speaker 3: protect illegal immigrants. The Millusion at Fox said this about
- 3:53Speaker 3: what some Democrats are doing.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Well, Dan, it's hard to believe there are any jurisdictions
- 3:57Speaker 5: out there that wouldn't cooperate with ICE when it comes
- 3:59Speaker 5: to illegal aliens charged with forcibly raping children. But in
- 4:03Speaker 5: Massachusetts it's just routine. Take a look at this case.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Ice Boston just announcing they arrested this guadmal In illegal
- 4:09Speaker 5: alien charged in Massachusetts with three counts of aggravated child
- 4:13Speaker 5: rape and three counts of forcible rape of a child.
- 4:16Speaker 5: So the question is why was he on the streets
- 4:18Speaker 5: right well, I says their detainer request on him was
- 4:20Speaker 5: ignored by the Essex County Superior Court due to sanctuary policy.
- 4:25Speaker 3: The locals released.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Him in in the community on bail without any notice
- 4:29Speaker 5: to ICE. In a statement, the director of ICE Boston says,
- 4:32Speaker 5: in part quote, Jose Fernando Perez has been charged with
- 4:34Speaker 5: some horrific crymes against a minor in our commonwealth. He
- 4:37Speaker 5: is exactly the type of alien we are targeting with
- 4:40Speaker 5: our worst first policy. He posts a significant danger to
- 4:43Speaker 5: the children of Massachusetts and we will not tolerate such
- 4:46Speaker 5: a threat to our community. ICE Boston also announcing the
- 4:49Speaker 5: arrest of this Turkish illegal alien charged in Massachusetts with
- 4:52Speaker 5: a sultant battery against an intellectually disabled person and witness intimidation.
- 4:57Speaker 5: But I says their detainer on him was also ignored
- 5:01Speaker 5: by the sanctuary city of Somerville. He had also been
- 5:04Speaker 5: released into the public elsewhere around the US. I Seattle
- 5:07Speaker 5: arrested this Salvadoran illegal alien wanted in his home country
- 5:11Speaker 5: for aggravated homicide. Here in Los Angeles, ICE arrested this
- 5:15Speaker 5: Guatemalan illegal alien charged with sexual assault and rape with
- 5:18Speaker 5: a gun. And in Colorado, the DEA announced their top
- 5:22Speaker 5: ten arrests of illegal immigrants in recent days, including several
- 5:25Speaker 5: affiliated with Trendya Arragua and others with egregious crimes like kidnapping,
- 5:30Speaker 5: child sexual assault, and fentanyl trafficking and Dana. I was
- 5:33Speaker 5: talking to a law enforcement source in Massachusetts about the
- 5:36Speaker 5: child rape case that I referenced, and I asked, like,
- 5:38Speaker 5: there's got to be some sort of a catch here, right,
- 5:40Speaker 5: forget about cooperating with ICE. How does somebody charge with
- 5:43Speaker 5: so many counts of aggravated forcible child rape even get
- 5:46Speaker 5: released on bail in the first place. The response I
- 5:49Speaker 5: got was, quote, welcome to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It is very clear that these liberal states are willing
- 5:55Speaker 3: to put their own citizens and children at risk just
- 5:58Speaker 3: to say no cure border because it's what Donald Trump
- 6:02Speaker 3: and the American people want now.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Story number two.
- 6:04Speaker 3: President Trump made it very clear when he was running
- 6:07Speaker 3: for president that if he was elected, he was going
- 6:09Speaker 3: to end the senseless war between Russia and Ukraine. Not
- 6:12Speaker 3: only is it counting countless innocent people's lives, but it's
- 6:15Speaker 3: also costing America billions and billions of dollars. There's many
- 6:20Speaker 3: Republican warhawks and Democrats are obsessed with funding this war
- 6:25Speaker 3: and with making sure there's no end in sight. Donald
- 6:27Speaker 3: Trump has other plans, promising that he would end it,
- 6:30Speaker 3: and now we have learned as of Sunday that he
- 6:33Speaker 3: could meet quote very soon with Vladimir Putin face to face,
- 6:37Speaker 3: adding he believes his Russian counterpart genuinely wants to stop
- 6:41Speaker 3: fighting in Ukraine. Quote no time set, but it could
- 6:45Speaker 3: be very soon, Trump told reporters, hours after the Secretary
- 6:48Speaker 3: of State Marco Rubio sought the play down expectations of
- 6:52Speaker 3: upcoming high level talks and ending the war altogether now,
- 6:56Speaker 3: with Rubio said to lead this high level American delegation
- 7:00Speaker 3: the discussions with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia's capital in
- 7:03Speaker 3: the coming days, a flurry of diplomacy was taking place
- 7:06Speaker 3: as the brutal Ukraine War nears its third anniversary. Trump,
- 7:11Speaker 3: addressing reporters after a flat on air Force one, said
- 7:14Speaker 3: his team has been speaking long and hard with Russian officials,
- 7:18Speaker 3: including his Middle East envoy, whom the President said met
- 7:21Speaker 3: with Putin for about three hours recently, saying this, I
- 7:25Speaker 3: think he wants to stop fighting, Trump said of Putin,
- 7:28Speaker 3: ask whether he believes Putin wants to seize the entirety
- 7:31Speaker 3: of Ukraine. Trump said, that was my question to him.
- 7:35Speaker 3: If he's going to go on, that would have caused
- 7:38Speaker 3: me a big problem. Trump added, I think he wants
- 7:40Speaker 3: to end it, and they want to end it fast,
- 7:42Speaker 3: both of them, he said, adding Zelenski wants to end
- 7:45Speaker 3: it two. The Ukrainian president. Zolenski meanwhile said Sunday he
- 7:49Speaker 3: believes Russia's preparing to quote wage war against a week
- 7:53Speaker 3: in NATO should Trump dilute US support for the alliance.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Trump appeared to dismiss Zelensky's remarks, telling reporters that he
- 8:01Speaker 3: was not even a little bit concerned about the Ukrainian
- 8:04Speaker 3: leader's messaging. A President Trump has been very clear, and
- 8:08Speaker 3: he has constantly insisted that he would end the Ukrainian
- 8:11Speaker 3: conflict in a single day if he returned to the
- 8:13Speaker 3: White House. Rubio stressing yes, he believes this could come
- 8:17Speaker 3: to an end at the end of the day, it's
- 8:18Speaker 3: all about the money. And Donald Trump is clearly telegraphing
- 8:22Speaker 3: to Zolensky and Ukraine that the money and the arms
- 8:25Speaker 3: are going to be drawing up very soon, so you
- 8:28Speaker 3: better get your act together.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And lastly, story number three, the.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Trump administration has begun mass layoffs of federal workers and
- 8:35Speaker 3: the left is losing their mind because of a payoff.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Donald Trump said that our government was way too bloated,
- 8:41Speaker 3: and he's now proving his point. The administration beginning the
- 8:44Speaker 3: mass layoffs across multiple federal agencies, a move that is
- 8:48Speaker 3: expected to effect thousands and thousands of employees across the
- 8:52Speaker 3: federal government. Now. The firings initially affected probationary employees, recent
- 8:57Speaker 3: hires who joined the federal workforce within the last lasts
- 9:00Speaker 3: one to two years, depending on the agency, which has
- 9:04Speaker 3: fewer protections for those workers. Now, among the agencies experiencing
- 9:08Speaker 3: layoffs are the Department of Education, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau,
- 9:12Speaker 3: the Office of Personnel Management, the Environmental Protection Agency, the
- 9:17Speaker 3: General Services Administration, and the Small Business Administration. This is
- 9:22Speaker 3: just the beginning.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Of course, the left is freaking out, saying that people
- 9:25Speaker 3: are going to die if Donald Trump continues this way
- 9:29Speaker 3: of doing business. They're now using the tragedy of the
- 9:32Speaker 3: plane crash at Reagan National Airport as their springboard to
- 9:36Speaker 3: fear monger Americans into believing that Donald Trump should fire
- 9:40Speaker 3: no one. Take a listen to this from the Oval Office.
- 9:43Speaker 5: You've offered over two million federal workers the option to
- 9:46Speaker 5: resign immediately.
- 9:47Speaker 4: There are fifty thousand FAA employees. Does this tragedy give
- 9:51Speaker 4: you reason to reconsider that option of resignations because of
- 9:55Speaker 4: concerns about staffing issues in cret safety.
- 9:58Speaker 1: If people aren't coming to work, if they're not going
- 10:00Speaker 1: to come into the office and report as for the
- 10:02Speaker 1: date that.
- 10:03Speaker 3: You know what it is. Everybody knows what the date is.
- 10:05Speaker 1: It's been very well documented, then they're going to be terminated.
- 10:09Speaker 3: You're going to be You're not concerned though, that if
- 10:11Speaker 3: many people take that.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Offer, there could be shortages that.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Could be taking They'll be replaced with very competent people.
- 10:17Speaker 3: We have a lot of competent people in this country.
- 10:19Speaker 3: There's one thing you can bet on it is that
- 10:21Speaker 3: the media is never going to let a tragedy go
- 10:23Speaker 3: to waste, including a plane crash, where they're going to
- 10:26Speaker 3: then try to politicize it to attack President Trump. I
- 10:29Speaker 3: love the way that he handled this, saying if people
- 10:30Speaker 3: aren't going to come to work, then they're going to
- 10:32Speaker 3: be terminated and they'll be replaced with competent people. Now,
- 10:35Speaker 3: why is the president doing this right now? Well, the
- 10:38Speaker 3: Trump Administration's initiative is clear. They say it's to reduce
- 10:42Speaker 3: the federal workforce through mass layoffs and restructuring. Aim to
- 10:46Speaker 3: enhance government efficiency and reduce spending significantly. They say by
- 10:51Speaker 3: streamlining operations and focusing on essential positions, the administration anticipates
- 10:56Speaker 3: significant cost savings for tax payers. Deferred Resignation program offers
- 11:02Speaker 3: employees eight months of pay and benefits upon resignation, providing
- 11:07Speaker 3: financial support during their transition. This approach is expected to
- 11:10Speaker 3: foster a more performance driven workforce, something the government knows
- 11:14Speaker 3: nothing about, as well as a culture aligning with the
- 11:17Speaker 3: administration's goals of modernizing our federal operations. At the end
- 11:21Speaker 3: of the day, this is also about saving taxpayers a
- 11:24Speaker 3: significant amount of cash.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Now.
- 11:27Speaker 3: DOJE also came out this last week giving an update
- 11:30Speaker 3: on just how much money they are saving Americans. Here
- 11:32Speaker 3: is a list that Donald Trump tweeted out telling you
- 11:35Speaker 3: where your money was going to be spent, but they
- 11:37Speaker 3: stopped it before it could happen. Ten million dollars for
- 11:41Speaker 3: Mozambique Voluntary Medical Mail Circumcision, nine point seven million for
- 11:46Speaker 3: the US Berkeley to develop a cohort of Cambodian youth
- 11:50Speaker 3: within enterprise driven skills. Two point three million for strengthening
- 11:54Speaker 3: independent voices in Cambodia, thirty two million for the Prague
- 11:58Speaker 3: Civil Society Center, million for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Hub,
- 12:03Speaker 3: fourteen million for improving public procurement in Serbia. How about
- 12:08Speaker 3: four hundred and eighty six million to the Consortium for
- 12:12Speaker 3: Elections and Political Process Strengthening, including twenty two million for
- 12:16Speaker 3: quote inclusive and participationary political process in Moldova and twenty
- 12:22Speaker 3: one million for voter turnout in India. Yeah, none of
- 12:26Speaker 3: that in America. Twenty nine million for strengthening political landscape
- 12:29Speaker 3: in Bangladesh, twenty million for fiscal federalism in Nepal, nineteen
- 12:35Speaker 3: million for biodiversity conservation in Nepal, one point five million
- 12:40Speaker 3: for voter confidence in Liberia, fourteen million for social cohesion
- 12:44Speaker 3: and Mali. Two point five million for inclusive democracies in
- 12:49Speaker 3: South Africa, forty seven million for improving learning outcomes in Asia,
- 12:55Speaker 3: and two million to develop sustainable recycling models to increase
- 13:00Speaker 3: socioeconomic cohesion among marginalized communities in Kosovo, Roma and Egypt.
- 13:07Speaker 3: These are just some of the things that Doge uncovered
- 13:09Speaker 3: in the last five days that have all been cut
- 13:12Speaker 3: by Donald Trump and the federal government. So not only
- 13:14Speaker 3: are we getting rid of employees, we're also getting rid
- 13:17Speaker 3: of government waste.
