  I'm thinking today, primarily of Matthew 22, 41, it says,

  Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question.

  The Pharisees were kind of like the teaching pastors of the day.

  They were Jewish, of course, and they were proselyting and leading people to be Jewish.

  But the bottom line is they were teaching the Word of God the best they had it,
• 0:20
  which was the Old Testament up until that time.

  And Jesus asked them a question. Here's my suggestion.

  Face your opposition, whatever your opposition is, and ask your opposition a telling question.
• 0:31
  This is a way of shutting down all the frivolous challenges.

  He could have asked them anything, and they might normally have been happy to be addressed,
• 0:39
  especially in light of the light shining on them.
• 0:42
  They might have said, and as well he should ask us questions,
• 0:45
  but the question he chose to ask them was a telling question,
• 0:49
  a question that showed something about them and something about him and something about God.
• 0:54
  I think about 1st John chapter 4 verse 1, it says,
• 0:57
  Test the spirit, for not every spirit in the world is of Christ.

  In verse 2 there it says, this is how you know when it's of God,
• 1:06
  when it's the Holy Spirit of God, and that is if it proclaims, recognizes Jesus.

  And so if there are things in your life that don't recognize Jesus,
• 1:13
  then I don't suppose that you'll be surprised that they come across as opposition or stand against you.

  Here's the thing. Ask them.

  Do they believe in Jesus?
• 1:21
  And if they don't, let that telling question determine what you do with them.

  Some things may have to be cut out. Some things may have to be let go.

  Stand firm in Christ, and God will stand with you every single day.
