- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know y'all all looking back to back, giving them
- 0:15Speaker 1: like themzing bu things and it's not true. Good Steve
- 0:24Speaker 1: to mother, I don't joy. You gotta use that turn
- 1:05Speaker 1: hur you gotta turn to turn them out, got to
- 1:44Speaker 1: turn out to turn turn the water the water. Come
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your thing, huh, I sure will. A good
- 2:03Speaker 1: morning everybody. You are listening to the voice, Oh, come on,
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey Man got
- 2:11Speaker 1: a radio show boil boiled boy. I can't even tell you,
- 2:16Speaker 1: man um. I've been doing some thinking and and one
- 2:22Speaker 1: of the things that I wanted to mention today to
- 2:25Speaker 1: you as one of the principles of success being grateful
- 2:32Speaker 1: at all times. It's difficult to do. Being grateful at
- 2:40Speaker 1: all times. It's very difficult to do. I find that
- 2:45Speaker 1: to be true with myself. Now there are others that
- 2:48Speaker 1: might be able to do it, but just just from
- 2:51Speaker 1: talking and listening and and and living and learning, being
- 2:55Speaker 1: grateful at all times is difficult to do. But it's necessary, Serri,
- 3:01Speaker 1: because it's it's such an act of faith in knowing
- 3:06Speaker 1: that no matter what's going on, it's going to be
- 3:10Speaker 1: all right. And it's hard to see that when things
- 3:14Speaker 1: are not going in your favor, when things have turned
- 3:19Speaker 1: so dramatically the other way, and it seems as though
- 3:23Speaker 1: you're the only one in the situation where you're involved
- 3:26Speaker 1: with other people, or someone got an accusation against you falsely,
- 3:31Speaker 1: or somebody trying to do something to you unjustifiably, whatever
- 3:35Speaker 1: the case may be. When it's happening to you, it
- 3:39Speaker 1: does appear to you that, oh, my goodness, man, this
- 3:44Speaker 1: is horribly one sided. So it is difficult. It's hard
- 3:49Speaker 1: to do to be grateful at all times, but it's
- 3:52Speaker 1: so necessary, and I just I just want to point
- 3:55Speaker 1: out a couple of things to you. First of all,
- 3:59Speaker 1: the difficulty in being grateful in hard times is that
- 4:05Speaker 1: number one, the present circumstances. Oftentimes it's just so pressing
- 4:10Speaker 1: and so overwhelming that a lot of your energy is
- 4:14Speaker 1: devoted to trying to come up with the solution for that,
- 4:18Speaker 1: or trying to muster the strength to whether the storm,
- 4:21Speaker 1: or trying to just brace yourself to try to get
- 4:24Speaker 1: through it, and in doing that, you don't it's hard
- 4:28Speaker 1: to be grateful. It's hard to be grateful in pain,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and I know it is. But here is the trick
- 4:36Speaker 1: for me. This is what I've had to learn how
- 4:40Speaker 1: to do. And I guess it takes practice to get here.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It's not nothing you just start doing right away. You
- 4:47Speaker 1: got to practice it in small increments to really get it.
- 4:50Speaker 1: What I've always had to say to myself and what
- 4:53Speaker 1: I've learned to say to myself is this is happening
- 4:57Speaker 1: to me because God is working me through something. This
- 5:02Speaker 1: is happening to me because there's some form of tests
- 5:06Speaker 1: that I have to pass in order to graduate to
- 5:09Speaker 1: the next grade, that in order to be allowed to
- 5:12Speaker 1: move to the next level. This is happening to me
- 5:17Speaker 1: because there's something I need to purge my life, of
- 5:21Speaker 1: my body, of my spirit, of something's purging in me.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And when you purge something, it's it's painful. You know,
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's like a person getting off drugs. The withdrawal is agonizing.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I've been told and every documentary I've ever watched it
- 5:39Speaker 1: it's an agonizing process to go cold turkey, to withdraw,
- 5:44Speaker 1: to pull away after you've been doing something so long.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And so I know that this process is tough when
- 5:53Speaker 1: you're going through some pain, But when you're purging your system,
- 5:58Speaker 1: when you're when you're when you're having to pass a test,
- 6:02Speaker 1: when you're about to make when you're being made ready
- 6:06Speaker 1: for the next level. That moment right in there, in
- 6:10Speaker 1: realizing that that's what's happening, that's where you find the gratitude.
- 6:15Speaker 1: That's where I found the gratitude. I hope I'm explaining
- 6:18Speaker 1: this correctly. I'm gonna keep trying until I get it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But that's where you find the gratitude. The second part
- 6:26Speaker 1: of it is is that God has never left me
- 6:32Speaker 1: in all the things I've done, in all the mistakes
- 6:35Speaker 1: I've made, all the lies I've told, all the situations
- 6:40Speaker 1: I've gotten myself into, from being greedy and wanting too
- 6:44Speaker 1: much for me at the expense sometimes of other people,
- 6:52Speaker 1: not doing it deliberately or in a vindictive way, because
- 6:56Speaker 1: I've never had that spirit. I'm not a vindictive or
- 7:00Speaker 1: mean person, but sometimes in my life, in wanting to
- 7:05Speaker 1: do what I wanted to do, I didn't totally weigh
- 7:08Speaker 1: out the cause and effect of the other person. I mean,
- 7:12Speaker 1: can't just be real with you with that. I mean,
- 7:15Speaker 1: how many times we hadn't all done that? Look, it
- 7:17Speaker 1: doesn't don't make you a bad person. You know, good
- 7:21Speaker 1: people do bad things all the time. I just happen
- 7:24Speaker 1: to have come to the realization that unknowingly and and
- 7:30Speaker 1: not and not with malice intent towards a person. I've
- 7:37Speaker 1: heard people looking at something I wanted to do without
- 7:42Speaker 1: really looking at what the cause and effect would be
- 7:45Speaker 1: on the other person. So in doing some of these things,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I've created situations for myself. But God, through his grace
- 7:54Speaker 1: and mercy, has allowed me to even get beyond that.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So what I'm saying that God has never left me
- 8:01Speaker 1: in spite of myself. He's always gotten me through. So
- 8:05Speaker 1: that's the other part of it too. See that no
- 8:08Speaker 1: matter what you're going through, you've got to understand that
- 8:11Speaker 1: God has always gotten you through it, now, hasn't it.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Now that may not be the way you want it
- 8:16Speaker 1: or the way you liked, but guess what, you can't
- 8:19Speaker 1: do wrong and not pay for that. Now that that's
- 8:22Speaker 1: not how this works, That's never going to be the case.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But the great thing about God is he fires warning
- 8:28Speaker 1: shots at us all the time. He gives us an
- 8:30Speaker 1: opportunity to stop. You know, he don't fully punish us
- 8:34Speaker 1: right away every time we do something wrong, now does it?
- 8:37Speaker 1: You know eventually you're going to get caught doing whatever
- 8:41Speaker 1: it is you're doing. You do understand that, don't you.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But the first time, that close call, that was a
- 8:47Speaker 1: warning shot for you to stop. Look, I know you're
- 8:50Speaker 1: not perfect. I know we all sent us down here,
- 8:52Speaker 1: so I know you're gonna make mistakes. One time. I
- 8:55Speaker 1: know you was looking at her when you wasn't supposed to.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I know you said something to him when you wasn't
- 8:59Speaker 1: supposed to. I know you got with her when you
- 9:02Speaker 1: know you wasn't supposed to. And I know you got
- 9:04Speaker 1: with him when you know you wasn't supposed to. So
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna fire
- 9:08Speaker 1: warning shot and maybe you'll slow your roll this time.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But we keep on though. See see see that's what happens.
- 9:15Speaker 1: See we just keep on and then the next thing,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know, we get caught. Now, old Lord, have mercy,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I won't out of this. Yeah. Well see you didn't
- 9:24Speaker 1: dug this hole pretty deep, and he gonna get you out.
- 9:27Speaker 1: But there's some things that's got to go down now
- 9:30Speaker 1: because you didn't pay attention to the warning shot. See,
- 9:32Speaker 1: had you stopped the first time you felt bad about
- 9:35Speaker 1: it and said you wasn't gonna do it no more,
- 9:37Speaker 1: the situation wouldn't be as critical. But because we don't stop,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and we go again. But God always for gives, He
- 9:46Speaker 1: always allows us to get back up again. He always
- 9:50Speaker 1: gives us mercy. He always gives us his grace. He
- 9:55Speaker 1: always does that. You're listening, all right? Everybody, wake up,
- 10:03Speaker 1: getting ready. It is time for the Steve Hobby Morning Show.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It is time. It is time. That time happens every Friday.
- 10:12Speaker 1: We send you off on a good note. Ain't that right,
- 10:14Speaker 1: Sharlan Strawberry on the highest of good notes? Good morning, Jay,
- 10:19Speaker 1: Anthony Brown, everybody, Good morning? Junior? Was up? Man? What up? Jay? My? Right?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Buddy Man? Yes, Friday Man. Let's get it in last
- 10:30Speaker 1: but not least. He is the King, not King, the
- 10:33Speaker 1: King of pray. What's up? I'm a ya ya, I'm
- 10:38Speaker 1: in the build baby. What's happening to Jay? I am
- 10:40Speaker 1: actually in Tampa, Florida right now. I have a question
- 10:47Speaker 1: for everybody. Uh, Fearless Leader is on his anniversary. Tommy,
- 10:53Speaker 1: you just celebrated your anniversary. Yeah, Carla has celebrated her anniversary. Shirley,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you have celebrated you oars, How do you get one
- 11:01Speaker 1: of these anniversaries? That's what That's what I need to know. Wa,
- 11:08Speaker 1: we've had anniversaries, But how many anniversaries have you already had?
- 11:13Speaker 1: I haven't had. You know, you might not haven't been
- 11:15Speaker 1: in them long enough to get an anniversary. That's what
- 11:18Speaker 1: I'm at. It's about sticking to it. That's the key. Oh,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you gotta shit to it. Oh okay, you mean to
- 11:32Speaker 1: tell me, Jay, you never made it a year in
- 11:34Speaker 1: none of these marri that really? Well okay, Jay, but
- 11:39Speaker 1: you always say it's you. What is it? Just let
- 11:42Speaker 1: us know what it is about. Don't you see it
- 11:48Speaker 1: by working with me, don't you? Well? Okay, you signed
- 11:50Speaker 1: up for full time and now we're you down the
- 11:53Speaker 1: prime part time. So that's consistency, it's so that's yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So let me get this right, Jake. You actually got
- 12:02Speaker 1: an engagement dream. You said, will you marry me? Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Then you get up to the altar and then it
- 12:10Speaker 1: becomes a bad idea. It's not a good idea once
- 12:13Speaker 1: you walk up there and two people are standing in
- 12:15Speaker 1: front of that one guy. It's that one guy's fault.
- 12:18Speaker 1: That's it's just damn fault. Yes, yes, have you tried?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Just shocking and just let's just skip that other part.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Have you tried? Sometimes got I'm not a guy to
- 12:33Speaker 1: be around, prolonged man. He doesn't like that company. You
- 12:37Speaker 1: don't like company. I just you guys look so happy
- 12:42Speaker 1: when you celebrate your anniversary. I just want to know,
- 12:45Speaker 1: how do you get one? How about? Well, let me
- 12:50Speaker 1: ask you this, Jay, Do you have a friend like
- 12:52Speaker 1: all old people got friends? You got a friend? Yeah?
- 12:58Speaker 1: That's funny with the job, right, your free and meet
- 13:06Speaker 1: or the anniversary of your of your divorce. When when
- 13:10Speaker 1: you and your friend meet, that's the anniversary or celebrate
- 13:14Speaker 1: your divorce. Jay, you could do that. I'm celebrating. Gone,
- 13:20Speaker 1: you know, I celebrating. We need to meet some of
- 13:25Speaker 1: your exes. We really do very nice people. They are
- 13:32Speaker 1: all right, Well, coming up in thirty two minutes after
- 13:36Speaker 1: the hour, help him. Lord, we're gonna do ask bitter Man.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Oh Lord, right after this you're listening to the Day
- 13:45Speaker 1: Morning show. All right, guys, it is time now for
- 13:48Speaker 1: ask bitter Man. And if you don't know who bitter
- 13:51Speaker 1: Man is, of course it's the one and only Jay
- 13:54Speaker 1: Anthony Brown and Jay what's your disclaimer before we do.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm not here to him you in any situation you're in,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and it is not my purpose in life. Exact you
- 14:05Speaker 1: won't go. I'll try that. No, you're not gonna be
- 14:10Speaker 1: the exact opposite of asks the other words. Okay, here
- 14:14Speaker 1: we go. This one is from Lena in Saint Lucia. Wow,
- 14:18Speaker 1: all the way from Saint Lucia. Lena writes, I am
- 14:21Speaker 1: a thirty something single female dating a sixty year old
- 14:25Speaker 1: prominent businessman. He's divorced with three grown children. We've been
- 14:30Speaker 1: dating eight years, and I met his children early on,
- 14:33Speaker 1: but I have no interactions with them. Now. I am
- 14:36Speaker 1: well taken care of, and I know this man loves me,
- 14:39Speaker 1: but he doesn't take me to family functions or invites
- 14:42Speaker 1: his children, or invite his children to our home. It
- 14:45Speaker 1: makes me think he's got something to hide. Why can't
- 14:48Speaker 1: I go to family functions with him? Lena wants to know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: bitter man, what younger people don't understand when you're dating older,
- 14:57Speaker 1: When you're dating older his kid or your age pretty much,
- 15:02Speaker 1: And that's gonna be a problem. You know. You gotta
- 15:06Speaker 1: hear it from the am she younger than me? And
- 15:08Speaker 1: you can't go, well, so what so what damn it?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Who gives a damn it? She's younger than me if
- 15:15Speaker 1: your mama was younger than me when I met her,
- 15:17Speaker 1: So it's just the best. Did not even take them
- 15:20Speaker 1: all around? Okay, she younger than me, and in your
- 15:25Speaker 1: point being, what so what? How old is he? How
- 15:29Speaker 1: old is he? He's sixty, she's thirty. So let's do
- 15:32Speaker 1: the map. Sixty. It goes into thirty as many times
- 15:36Speaker 1: as it can. I don't know if y'all know about this,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but it's many damn times. All Right, we're moving on,
- 15:45Speaker 1: y better man Emeralds in Kansas. We have moved on. Guys.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I am forty forty nine years old. I'm a woman,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and I used to date a licensed mechanic. Um I
- 16:00Speaker 1: recommended him, Yeah, I exactly. I recommended him to my
- 16:05Speaker 1: co worker to fix her old, raggedy car, and she
- 16:08Speaker 1: ended up sleeping with him and then told me about it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: He admitted it, said it was terrible, and she was terrible.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I told all of our co workers went what she did,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and I also told them how terrible my man said
- 16:20Speaker 1: she was. I just wanted a little payback. But now
- 16:23Speaker 1: she's mad and wants to fight me. What should I do? Now?
- 16:30Speaker 1: You shind that raggedy car so that so you need
- 16:36Speaker 1: to go down and whoop her raggedy behind. That's my
- 16:39Speaker 1: that's my opinion. Normally I wouldn't tell people to go fight,
- 16:41Speaker 1: but that's what you need to do. Anybody else got
- 16:44Speaker 1: it again to all her business to everybody that it.
- 16:49Speaker 1: She just wanted a little payback. She told you what fight? Yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're gonna fight. Go ahead and get some tools first
- 16:59Speaker 1: and then show up. Should don't go in. I mean
- 17:03Speaker 1: you got a mcchannic. He got a wrench in. Then
- 17:04Speaker 1: you can take right now, you know, and you know it.
- 17:09Speaker 1: He's a mchanny. He got a raggedy card. So yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 1: that's a rule, all right. He just tightened up some
- 17:19Speaker 1: old things she needed tight en up. That's all all right,
- 17:24Speaker 1: all right? Moving on, baby and Raleigh, North Carolina says,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I'm in my late thirties and I am married to
- 17:31Speaker 1: a great man. I work as a massage therapist at
- 17:34Speaker 1: a big center that has a nice gym and fitness classes.
- 17:37Speaker 1: My husband's best friend belongs to the gym, and he
- 17:40Speaker 1: scheduled a massage three weeks ago when I was the
- 17:43Speaker 1: only therapist available. He was naked for his massage, which
- 17:48Speaker 1: is normal for some people, but it weirded me out.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I thought he would mention it to my husband, but
- 17:53Speaker 1: he hasn't. Should I no, hell no, it's just one
- 17:57Speaker 1: thing you cannot do. You cannot go guess who I
- 18:01Speaker 1: saw naked today that you can't add that conversation which
- 18:05Speaker 1: your husband everything is going fine, don't tell your husband
- 18:09Speaker 1: about your naked neighborbooil and your naked friend and my right, guys,
- 18:14Speaker 1: this is not the time for honesty at all. But
- 18:20Speaker 1: away there's this guy played for the Texans that was naked.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Let's say this is from North Carolina. Though he might
- 18:30Speaker 1: he might travel, he traveled, he doesn't travel, and the
- 18:34Speaker 1: location may have been changed. So she shouldn't say a word. No, no, no, no,
- 18:41Speaker 1: don't puck question, puck question. Do you guys let men massage?
- 18:44Speaker 1: You know, it's gotta be a woman. It's gotta be
- 18:47Speaker 1: a woman. Definitely gonna be a woman. I like a
- 18:50Speaker 1: man because of the hands, and I like a deep
- 18:53Speaker 1: tissue massage. But I'm not naked. Let me just make
- 18:56Speaker 1: that clear. You never I've never had no real Noah
- 19:04Speaker 1: with that, Timmy, you asking me, do I get naked? Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'm naked at the cash registered hand. Ridiculous five two.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I got that in once. Hold on a little lady.
- 19:24Speaker 1: We want a little lady to say, I'm gonna walk
- 19:26Speaker 1: out for a moment, and you ain't. You ain't gotta
- 19:30Speaker 1: leave what you're leaving from. You're been to be touching
- 19:33Speaker 1: on a minute, what you leaving And Timmy, Timmy, you're
- 19:37Speaker 1: stopping on the front. Damn it, you're starting on the front. Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 1: my back is the last thing. Don't even do my back.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Take my back out? All right? Moving on? Clearly the
- 19:54Speaker 1: anonymous in DC. You guys, I'm a senior in college
- 19:58Speaker 1: sharing an apartment with my best friend. He is a
- 20:00Speaker 1: girlfriend that always suspects him of cheating. He does cheat
- 20:04Speaker 1: on her a lot, and I help him cover it
- 20:06Speaker 1: up because we're best friends. I have a new girlfriend
- 20:09Speaker 1: that I'm dating, and I introduced her to my roommate's girlfriend.
- 20:12Speaker 1: My girl said that my roommate's girl told her I'm
- 20:14Speaker 1: a dog and have a lot of women in my bed.
- 20:18Speaker 1: My roommate is responsible for this, but he refuses to
- 20:21Speaker 1: fix it. Should I curse this girl? Out and tell
- 20:23Speaker 1: her who the real dog is. Yeah, yeah, you should
- 20:28Speaker 1: tell I think, yeah, no, you're covering for your boy though,
- 20:31Speaker 1: you got to keep covered, don't. Don't do that. Honor
- 20:34Speaker 1: amongst thieves. Yeah, but there is honor among the honor
- 20:42Speaker 1: among cheaters. There is honor among cheaters, cheaters, the same thing,
- 20:46Speaker 1: same thing. All right, thank you, bitter man. I think uh.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Coming up next it is the nephew would run that
- 20:53Speaker 1: frank back? Right after this you're listening show coming up
- 20:59Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, Miss Anne is standing
- 21:02Speaker 1: by with our national news and in trending news, there's
- 21:05Speaker 1: a chicken wing shortage all over the country. I'm sure
- 21:08Speaker 1: you guys have heard about this, and Rick Ross the
- 21:10Speaker 1: bouse is trying to address the problem. We'll tell you
- 21:14Speaker 1: what he's into in just a little bit. Plus, Dave
- 21:17Speaker 1: Chappelle has apologized to Republican Republican Candice Owens, but he
- 21:23Speaker 1: served it with a little side. Let's talk about it
- 21:28Speaker 1: and all of these stories at the top of the hour.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But right now, the nephew is here, would run that
- 21:32Speaker 1: prank back? What you got? Naw, let's see now, let
- 21:37Speaker 1: me see what did appear your mona. We need you
- 21:43Speaker 1: to change your appearance. Moana, we need you to change
- 21:49Speaker 1: yellow appearance. I love Mona. Shout out the mona. Alright,
- 21:54Speaker 1: Audemonas out there. This goes out to your baby Audemonas.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Let's go. Kay. Hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach a mona. Please,
- 22:04Speaker 1: this is hers. All right, how are you doing? My
- 22:06Speaker 1: name is James over with the corporation. I'm with your
- 22:10Speaker 1: corporate wardrobe. You've been with the company for about eight
- 22:13Speaker 1: years now? My correct mona? Yes, sir, okay, all, Like

- 42:28Speaker 1: really can't see the third population. I haven't heard time
- 42:32Speaker 1: seeing that right away. I want to see that. Oh yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 1: but I'm just saying I just want to see I
- 42:39Speaker 1: want to see it on pay per view. Yes, I
- 42:43Speaker 1: want to be able to tune in the whole thirty
- 42:45Speaker 1: years and just go to his channel and watch him.
- 42:46Speaker 1: That's what I want to Yeah, but I understand what
- 42:51Speaker 1: you're saying. Surely you're saying that you think that he
- 42:53Speaker 1: may be protected. Yeah, solitary confinement for a while. I
- 42:58Speaker 1: think they're going to protect him because, yeah, people people
- 43:02Speaker 1: in prison know what's going down. They have TVs, they've
- 43:05Speaker 1: seen what he did. The world saw what he did
- 43:09Speaker 1: the world. But you can't get rid, you can't you
- 43:11Speaker 1: can't be protected that loan though, y'all. I'm sorry it
- 43:15Speaker 1: can't be that. Yeah, But initially, Yeah, you can't be
- 43:22Speaker 1: You got to come to this shower. Yeah, you gotta go.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Thank you. He'll get something reasonable, unlike this woman, uh
- 43:32Speaker 1: Anna Morgan Lloyd, one of the first rioters to be
- 43:36Speaker 1: convicted of storming the US capital. Yeah, a single misdemeanor. Yeah,
- 43:43Speaker 1: and a five hundred dollars fine. Now we're expecting a
- 43:45Speaker 1: lot more than that from Derek Derek Chauvin. For sure,
- 43:50Speaker 1: he murdered someone. It was a publicly. We saw what
- 43:54Speaker 1: he did, So come on serious time for this justice. Yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 1: although we have seen him before and he needs to
- 44:05Speaker 1: get black people time. That's what he needs to get
- 44:09Speaker 1: black people time. All right, Coming up next, we're gonna
- 44:13Speaker 1: switch gears here because the nephew is in the building

- 54:05Speaker 1: you just never know. Buckle up and hold on tight.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Be guided for you. Here it is the Strawberry Let.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Thank you, nephew. All right, here we go. Subject I'm
- 54:16Speaker 1: selfish and tired of sharing. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm a
- 54:20Speaker 1: thirty two year old man and my girlfriend is thirty
- 54:23Speaker 1: years old. We've been together almost four years and At
- 54:26Speaker 1: the start of our relationship, things were great. I proposed
- 54:29Speaker 1: last year, but she told me she needed her mom's
- 54:32Speaker 1: blessing before we got married. I thought her mom and
- 54:35Speaker 1: I had a good connection, but she won't give me
- 54:37Speaker 1: her blessing until she gets to know me better. My
- 54:40Speaker 1: life has turned upside down since I proposed. Right after
- 54:44Speaker 1: I asked my girl to marry me, we found out
- 54:47Speaker 1: that she's pregnant again. She ran to her mom first,
- 54:50Speaker 1: and then they came over to tell me about the baby.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Her mom became even more controlling, and she insisted that
- 54:57Speaker 1: my girlfriend move in with her until after she has
- 55:01Speaker 1: the baby. That limits our time together because her mom
- 55:04Speaker 1: has a curfew at her house and wants me out
- 55:07Speaker 1: by midnight and wants her daughter home by midnight if
- 55:10Speaker 1: she's out with me or her friends. My girlfriend seems
- 55:14Speaker 1: to be under her mom's spell, and it's really irritating
- 55:17Speaker 1: me to the point that I want to break up
- 55:19Speaker 1: with her because I can't leave her. But I can't
- 55:22Speaker 1: leave her while she's pregnant. My friends think she's abiding
- 55:25Speaker 1: by her mother's rules because it's her way of distancing
- 55:28Speaker 1: herself from me. I don't get that feeling from her
- 55:32Speaker 1: because we talk about her mom's crazy rules all the time.
- 55:35Speaker 1: What I don't understand is why she won't stand up
- 55:38Speaker 1: to her mom. She lets her mom ask me all
- 55:41Speaker 1: kinds of personal questions about my friends, my finances, and
- 55:45Speaker 1: my upbringing. I am starting to hate her mother, and
- 55:48Speaker 1: it's getting to the point where I see my girlfriend
- 55:51Speaker 1: less and less because of her. I want to get married,
- 55:54Speaker 1: get a house for my family, and have a good
- 55:57Speaker 1: life without her mom's involvement. How can I get my
- 56:01Speaker 1: girlfriend from under her mom spell? I am tired of sharing. Well,
- 56:07Speaker 1: you know, on this show, we talk about mama's boys
- 56:10Speaker 1: a lot, we really do, and we never give mama's
- 56:13Speaker 1: boys a pass. We don't. We call them what they are,
- 56:17Speaker 1: mama's boys, you know, hanging onto the apron strings and
- 56:20Speaker 1: all of that. So I'm not about to let your
- 56:23Speaker 1: your fiance off the hook either. I mean, it's time
- 56:26Speaker 1: for an ultimatum from you. She's got to make a choice,
- 56:29Speaker 1: she's got to grow up. She's got to either be
- 56:32Speaker 1: with you or with her mom. And that's not to
- 56:35Speaker 1: say forget leave her mom and all of that. Her
- 56:38Speaker 1: mom is gonna always be her mom, but she can't
- 56:40Speaker 1: continually be her mommy's little baby. Yes she is, you know.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I mean, this woman is thirty years old and about
- 56:50Speaker 1: to have a whole husband and a baby, her own family.
- 56:55Speaker 1: She still can't be under her mom's control as your wife.
- 56:59Speaker 1: That won't work in a marriage. You got to talk
- 57:02Speaker 1: to her. You have to talk to her. You gotta
- 57:04Speaker 1: let her know how you feel. You got to tell
- 57:06Speaker 1: her your plans for the marriage and the family, plans
- 57:09Speaker 1: that include her mom as just the grandmother for now. Okay,
- 57:13Speaker 1: thank you, mom, We got this. But you know she
- 57:17Speaker 1: can't be all up in the middle of your relationship
- 57:19Speaker 1: giving you the third degree when she feels like it. No,
- 57:22Speaker 1: tell her you're the father. You will have a say
- 57:24Speaker 1: in your baby's life periods. Then you guys need to
- 57:27Speaker 1: decide on a wedding date and set a deadline for
- 57:30Speaker 1: her to move out of her mother's house. That house
- 57:33Speaker 1: is toxic right now. This is if you still want
- 57:36Speaker 1: to future together. You say you're moving further and further away,
- 57:39Speaker 1: But I think you still want to have a good
- 57:41Speaker 1: life with her, and you can do that. But you
- 57:43Speaker 1: got to talk to her and mom has to definitely
- 57:46Speaker 1: be out of the picture. Jay Or Junior Junior is
- 57:49Speaker 1: an X right junior junior. Okay, yeah, I'll go all right,
- 57:53Speaker 1: here you go. You have got to do this, but
- 57:57Speaker 1: you got to pull the mom away from the door
- 58:00Speaker 1: when you do this, and you gotta go strong. You
- 58:03Speaker 1: got to you gotta hit on the mom. You have
- 58:06Speaker 1: got to hit on the mom. What hard possibly you
- 58:11Speaker 1: got to come at all? But all your macking, all
- 58:16Speaker 1: all the mac you got, you got to go. I
- 58:22Speaker 1: don't say her name is glad as miss glad? Is
- 58:26Speaker 1: you showing good in that bathrow? Baby? Damn damn girl, girl,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you're rocking them slippers. Oh my god, doing something to me? Yeah,
- 58:40Speaker 1: and rub on yourself when you talk to rub all
- 58:42Speaker 1: over yourself when with me. Yeah yeah. You gotta step
- 58:50Speaker 1: on your nippole area when you talk. Yeah yeah yeah yeah.
- 58:57Speaker 1: When you put that that headscf on that do something.
- 59:02Speaker 1: And then you gotta go like this, m what is
- 59:05Speaker 1: that you? What is that you win? Is that? Is
- 59:09Speaker 1: that white diamond? Damn love me some white diamond? Yeah,
- 59:19Speaker 1: you can't strong and that will run her ass away
- 59:24Speaker 1: and you'll have the daughter aids up. Now it could
- 59:28Speaker 1: turn on you. She may have. You may have to
- 59:30Speaker 1: put down mama, Mama, what you Gauta for your magic.
- 59:43Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Yeah, but yeah, rub your love
- 59:46Speaker 1: on yourself und your nippole area. Okay, come out, I
- 59:50Speaker 1: want to rub on yourself well on the nippole area,
- 59:54Speaker 1: all upon your nipple. Thank you, Jay, Come on, come on, yo, Yola,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: you just hang on, hang on, Junior, We'll get to
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: you and the nephew of course. Uh wow, Jay, you
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: threw me with that. And miss Gladys. All right, the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: subject of the Strawberry letter is I'm selfish and tired
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: of sharing. We'll be back at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: the hour. We still have to hear from Junior. We
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: still have to hear from the nephew. It's I'm selfish
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: and tired of sharing. We'll get back into it. The
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Strawberry letter for today. Right after this, you're listening to
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: the Stave Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we go.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: We got a recap today Strawberry letter. The subject I'm
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: selfish and tired of sharing. A thirty two year old
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: man wrote in he and his girlfriend are together. They've
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: been together for four years. She's thirty, he's thirty two.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Like I said at the start of the relationship, it
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: was great. He proposed last year finally, and she said
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: before she said yes, she wanted to get the blessing
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: of her mom. She didn't get that because her mom
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: is all up in the business. She's asking him all
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: kinds of questions. He said, his life has turned upside
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: down since he proposed because now he found out that
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: the girl is pregnant. Fiance now is pregnant, so her
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: mother told her to move in with her and everything
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: has to be done by midnight. The fiance can't come
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: over there and see her. She has to be in
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: by midnight, and she's all in the business asking them
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: all kinds of questions. So he wants to know how
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: can he get his girlfriend from under her mom's spell.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: He wants to raise his baby, he wants to have
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: a good family and a good life, and he's tired
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: of sharing his girlfriend with her mother. So Jay said
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: he should he should hit on the mom and that'll
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: run her away maybe. And then Junior, what do you say,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: what's dd I don't do it, don't do it. Don't
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: marry married his girl? No, no, do not marry this girl.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Don't do it. You don't gonna get that ring back today?
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: That's what you need to do. Folks, on't getting the
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: ring back today, because this is a preview or what
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: your marriage gonna look like. This is what's gonna happen
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: right after you get married. She's still not gonna be
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: able to move in with you. Still not. She's gonna
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: be outma house. You still gonna have to get out
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: at midnight. You still gonna have to waters so you
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: still everything. And another thing I know about the mama too.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Her mama is struggling with the bills at that house.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: That's only why you asked somebody thirty to move back in,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: because you need help with dat bills. That's what growing
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the MoMA. Momma. He just rent this gas her Mamma, No,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: don't do this, man, let this go just mom's you
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: heard it from the single guy. Don't do it? DDI previews.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Oh lord, I'm almost afraid to ask. All right, nephew,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: what you got subject? I'm selfish and tired of sharing.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You know what. He's thirty two, she's thirty. She's a
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: mama's girl. What's going on? Okay? Can I say what
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: I want to say? Yes, Carla? Can I say what
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I want to say? This is my letter. Go ahead,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: She's gonna say yes, do it. She's gonna say yes
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: to say what I want to say. Your future mother
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: in law need a back buster. She needs somebody to
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: bust her back out. I'm sorry. You know what, when
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: people are in other people's business, that's because they ain't
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: got no business. That means she needs something. She needs
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: some band. She need her back busket. You need to
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: find somebody to go in there and just well mama out.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: You need a Mandinko warrior. You need a mo Tumbo
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: on a larger one. You need some mama out because
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: guess what. Guess what? Because guess what? When that's happening,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: the spell is broken. Mama don't care what the hell
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: y'all doing because Mama is satisfied. Okay, never tell you
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: something in order to get out, in order to let
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: me let me? How can I put this up? Uh if?
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: In order to how can I say? Sometimes you create
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: an Sometimes you have to create an entanglement in order
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: to untangle what you trying to keep for yourself. That
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I ought, My God, I think I said something. Did
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you hear what I said? Sometimes you have to create
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: an entanglement. You want to auder yourself. Then you got
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: to tangle Mama up into something else. You got to
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: give mama's back busted out, because guess what. Once you
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: give mama over there loving with somebody else, guess what,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: she ain't got time to food with you. She ain't
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: got worry about this baby. She got time to worry
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: about her daughter. You got to go in there and
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: have somebody for mama and lay mama's answer your your
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: your response is kind of like Jay's, only you want
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: him to find someone. Yeah, somebody else right to be
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: dealt with another one. We both are in the same Yeah,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: somebody needs to hit that, either him or old the man.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I'm consistent, Lee, consistently and consistently. Jay is at least
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: three times a week, okay, three times when you don't
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: have time to get it nobody else business. Because when
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: you looked up, damn he on his way back over here.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Three times when you're getting it,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: you ain't got time to get in. Other folks didn't this.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I believe that you're convinced she's not getting any You're convinced, No, no,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: you don't have time to get now. You're too far
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: in this woman business. Well, she is the grandmother. Don't
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: forget about that. You're gonna need someone to help you
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: with the baby. Grandmama was needing to Wait a minute, man,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: what I gotta grandmother? I don't need to hear that. Hey,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: wait a minute, man, And your grandmother is so cute.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: You you witness a couple of days? Have you witnessed
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: a couple of days? Junior? Witness coup of day when
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: you ain't here from grandmoma? Yeah, I've been a couple dain. Man.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I think I'm called right up, we go up the radio?
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: How did you go? But I mean, I think we
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: can all agree that she needs to stand up to
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: her mom. She just can't let her mom just be
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: all in her business and run her life like this,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: especially with her trying to have her own thing in
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: here right up in here here, Jay, we don't have
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: to see that. We can we can picture what area
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: is that? All right? Listen? Post your comments on today's

- 1:18:44Speaker 1: other officers, uh, going to trial in August and August. Yes,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: but here's the thing, we won't be surprised no matter

- 1:21:11Speaker 1: to do something about the shortage of these damn chicken
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: wings because it is a serious business. And you know
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: the old joke why they did chicken across the road
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: to save his wings. That's why he crossed the damn
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: uh yeah, he looked back into it. Yeah, when they
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: after the damn wing. Let me get mad cross to
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: the street. That now, if they can come up with
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: something for the virus, we're glad to sign to do that.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: But we need to have chickens with more than two wings.
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: I know they can make that happened nine wing chicken.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: If they can come up with nine or nine wing
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: chicken three three and three. That was three fief of
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: one chicken. I don't want to take about nine wings

- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Serious as to why he chose thighs though, just not,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: you know, because you could do legs after after the wings.
