- 0:00Speaker 1: If they express their gratitude towards the United States government
- 0:04Speaker 1: on towards President Trump for the pressure he's outing against Maluro,
- 0:07Speaker 1: They're going to face horrible consequences. That's why you don't
- 0:10Speaker 1: really see a lot of expressions coming out of Venezuela.
- 0:13Speaker 1: But you know, I have people there.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I've talked to them. They are copying.
- 0:17Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Good Tuesday morning. It is nice to have you with
- 0:23Speaker 4: us after the Labor Day weekend into all American workers.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Thank you for what you do. We've got one big
- 0:29Speaker 4: story this morning, and it involves Donald Trump going after
- 0:34Speaker 4: cartels who've been designated as terrorist organizations in a way
- 0:38Speaker 4: we haven't seen in my lifetime. The United States has
- 0:42Speaker 4: significantly ramped up its military presence in the Southern Caribbean,
- 0:47Speaker 4: and now there are seven to eight warships, including a
- 0:50Speaker 4: nuclear powered submarine, on top of thousands of US military personnel.
- 0:57Speaker 4: So what is this all about. I'm going to explain
- 0:59Speaker 4: it to you. Wise Maduro terrified after we've up the
- 1:04Speaker 4: bounty on him as a narco terrorist. But first I
- 1:07Speaker 4: want to talk to you about my friends over at
- 1:09Speaker 4: Patriot Mobile. You've got a lot of choices for cell
- 1:12Speaker 4: phone service, with new ones popping up all the time.
- 1:16Speaker 4: But if you want to make a difference and you
- 1:18Speaker 4: want to stop giving your money to liberal companies, well,
- 1:21Speaker 4: one way you can do that is by getting rid
- 1:24Speaker 4: of Liberal Mobile you probably have right now. That is
- 1:27Speaker 4: where hundreds of thousands of Americans are now coming together
- 1:30Speaker 4: and have made Patriot Mobile what they are today. They've
- 1:33Speaker 4: been in service now for thirteen years, and right now
- 1:38Speaker 4: is the best time ever to switch because it's never
- 1:41Speaker 4: been easier. Now, before I tell you about that, I
- 1:44Speaker 4: want you to know why switching is so important. Because
- 1:47Speaker 4: every time you make a call, every time you send
- 1:49Speaker 4: a text, and every time that you pay your bill,
- 1:51Speaker 4: you're actually standing up for the values you believe in
- 1:53Speaker 4: your First and your Second Amendment rights, the rights of
- 1:56Speaker 4: unborn children, and you stand with our military, are veterans,
- 2:00Speaker 4: our wounded warriors, and our fallen soldier families. Because Patriot
- 2:04Speaker 4: Mobile takes about five percent of your bill every month
- 2:06Speaker 4: at no extra cost to you, and they give it
- 2:09Speaker 4: back to these organizations that fight for our values. Now,
- 2:13Speaker 4: let's talk about switching. It has never been easier. You
- 2:16Speaker 4: can keep your same number, keep your same phone, or upgrade.

- 3:15Speaker 4: and it starts right now.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:18Speaker 4: President Donald Trump made it very clear when he was
- 3:21Speaker 4: running for president and backing it up now that if
- 3:23Speaker 4: you are in the drug trade, he considers you a
- 3:27Speaker 4: dangerous individual that is a member of a terrorist organization,
- 3:31Speaker 4: and he's not gonna allow Americans to die at the
- 3:34Speaker 4: hands of fetnel and other drugs that have been pouring
- 3:38Speaker 4: into this country. Now, lots of those drugs have been
- 3:41Speaker 4: stopped because we have secured the border, but the President
- 3:44Speaker 4: says that's not enough. And now we're seeing what is
- 3:47Speaker 4: next on the present's agenda. The United States has significantly
- 3:52Speaker 4: ramped up its military presence in the Southern Caribbean. We
- 3:56Speaker 4: are now learning this started in late August and now
- 4:00Speaker 4: into September, as the US Navy has deployed around seven
- 4:05Speaker 4: to eight warships, including very large cruisers, amphibious assault vessels,
- 4:12Speaker 4: and at least one nuclear powered submarine. That's not all.
- 4:17Speaker 4: More than four thousand US personnel, including about twenty two
- 4:21Speaker 4: hundred Marines, are now operating in the area. This build
- 4:25Speaker 4: up includes surveillance aircraft and even a US spy plane.
- 4:30Speaker 4: We're being told the stated objective is actually very clear
- 4:35Speaker 4: combat drug cartels, and the Trump administration has framed this
- 4:39Speaker 4: deployment as part of a broader campaign against Latin American
- 4:43Speaker 4: drug trafficking and criminal networks. Officials have labeled Venezuelan President
- 4:48Speaker 4: Maduro as a narco trafficker, boosting the reward for his
- 4:52Speaker 4: capture now to fifty million dollars, and designating his alleged
- 4:58Speaker 4: cartel of the SUNS a terrorist organization. Merdua's reaction has
- 5:04Speaker 4: been fierce. He's armed and mobilized and defiant President Maduro
- 5:09Speaker 4: taking strong countermeasures, deploying troops along the coast and Columbia border.
- 5:15Speaker 4: He's also called on citizens to join civilian militias and
- 5:19Speaker 4: warrened he would quote constitutionally declare republic in arms if
- 5:24Speaker 4: the US forces attack. Maduro and other Venezuelan officials are
- 5:28Speaker 4: now accusing the US of using anti drug rhetoric as
- 5:32Speaker 4: a pretext for regime change and gunboat diplomacy. Here's more
- 5:37Speaker 4: about the move from Fox News.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Well, the US is deploying destroyers and thousands of marines
- 5:43Speaker 5: towards Venezuela as President Trump looks to crack down on
- 5:47Speaker 5: curtels and the Maduda regime. They could reportedly reach the
- 5:50Speaker 5: country's coast as soon as tomorrow. Here to discuss is
- 5:54Speaker 5: dissident Project speaker and an immigrant from Venezuela Jorgue Galicia,
- 5:58Speaker 5: along with trigger U political commentator and Venezuelan political refugee
- 6:03Speaker 5: Franklin Carmargo. So great to have you both on. I'm
- 6:07Speaker 5: going to start with you, coote Kea. What is the
- 6:09Speaker 5: reaction to Venezuelan's I know you guys are in close
- 6:11Speaker 5: contact with people who are living there right now. Over
- 6:16Speaker 5: seventy eighty percent of the country voted for the opposition
- 6:20Speaker 5: party against Madudo. How are they feeling in this moment
- 6:23Speaker 5: knowing that these destroyers are coming so close to the
- 6:26Speaker 5: Venezuelan coast.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Well, first of all, Rachel, thank you for having me again.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I think how many people in Venezuela are extremely optimistic.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They cannot really be loud about it because they're facing
- 6:37Speaker 1: a terrible criminal regime.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I spoke to one of the opposition activists who was
- 6:44Speaker 5: holed up in that embassy for over a year before
- 6:47Speaker 5: she was rescued, and I asked her and she said,
- 6:50Speaker 5: it's a silent euphoria. And so while they're quietly celebrating
- 6:56Speaker 5: what President Trump is doing right now in Venezuelan for
- 7:00Speaker 5: the whole Western hemisphere. Franklin, meanwhile, Venezuelans who are living
- 7:05Speaker 5: abroad are putting out the most remarkable TikTok Instagram videos
- 7:09Speaker 5: I've ever seen. You're seeing the destroyers coming into the
- 7:13Speaker 5: ocean and the planes coming overhead and YMCA playing, and
- 7:17Speaker 5: just the euphoria from the dissident community who's abroad is
- 7:22Speaker 5: so palpable and thankful to the administration. Give us more
- 7:26Speaker 5: context to that.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yes, the Venezuelan people recognizes that the Truma administration is
- 7:31Speaker 2: probably one of the biggest allies that freedom fighters Venezuela
- 7:35Speaker 2: freedom fighters have had over the last twenty five years.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Is someone who has recognized that Maduro is not just
- 7:41Speaker 2: a threat to South America. It's not just a threat
- 7:43Speaker 2: to Venezuelans, but it's also a threat to the American people.
- 7:47Speaker 6: And I think this is the most important thing to
- 7:49Speaker 6: mention right now.
- 7:50Speaker 2: When we talk about Nicolas Maduru, when we talk about
- 7:52Speaker 2: the Venezuelan regime, we're not just talking about a government
- 7:56Speaker 2: that we dislike or a dictatorship, a soft dictatorship. We're
- 7:59Speaker 2: talking about narco state government that produced over twenty five
- 8:05Speaker 2: percent of.
- 8:06Speaker 6: The entire cocaine that is produced in the entire world.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It's also a regime that sent Trendagua, the same criminal
- 8:14Speaker 2: organization that killed for example, Lake in Riley, or that
- 8:18Speaker 2: killed Joseline Nongarai. So there is a need for the
- 8:22Speaker 2: American people, for the well being of the.
- 8:24Speaker 6: American people in the Western hemisphere, to.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Have a regime changed to stop to stop these cartoons.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But Venezuela's recognized that Trump is an ally that the
- 8:37Speaker 2: US government is probably the biggest hope that.
- 8:40Speaker 6: We currently have.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Now you hear the stats there, I mean, it's very
- 8:43Speaker 4: clear that not only is this in essence a failed state,
- 8:46Speaker 4: it's a state where the people rose up against Maduro
- 8:48Speaker 4: and he just coined the power. Anyway, and now we
- 8:52Speaker 4: know that he is nothing but a narco terrorist. It
- 8:54Speaker 4: is a terrorist organization that he's a part of, and
- 8:57Speaker 4: his money is coming directly from theine that he is
- 9:01Speaker 4: delivering to the world. Yet Venezuela's president is now accusing
- 9:04Speaker 4: the United States of seeking regime change in his country.
- 9:07Speaker 4: And the military deployment that has happened now it was
- 9:10Speaker 4: authorized by President Trump in a simple effort to disrupt
- 9:14Speaker 4: drug cartel activity. It's part of the White Houses they
- 9:17Speaker 4: described it his broader border policy. Maduro said the build
- 9:21Speaker 4: up is an intervention in his quote country's affairs, saying
- 9:24Speaker 4: this to the people, they are seeking regime change through
- 9:28Speaker 4: military threat, and that's where he also wants the rest
- 9:31Speaker 4: of the world to believe. Maduro added, quote, Venezuela is
- 9:34Speaker 4: confronting the biggest threat that has ever seen on our
- 9:38Speaker 4: continent in the last one hundred years, and saying a
- 9:42Speaker 4: situation like this has never been seen. Maduro said Venezuela
- 9:46Speaker 4: won't bow to threats and that it was super prepared.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Now the Trump administration is accused again Maduau of engaging
- 9:53Speaker 4: in drug trafficking, going so far as to announce that
- 9:56Speaker 4: fifty million dollar reward for information leading to his arrest
- 9:59Speaker 4: and his conviction. The fifty million dollars that is not
- 10:03Speaker 4: a little amount of money when it comes to how
- 10:06Speaker 4: much we're willing to pay as a nation. This is
- 10:08Speaker 4: one of the biggest rewards we've ever had. Take a
- 10:12Speaker 4: listen to this from Fox as well.
- 10:13Speaker 1: People have wanted to do this for years.
- 10:16Speaker 7: President Trump putting war back in the War on drugs,
- 10:19Speaker 7: designating eight drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
- 10:23Speaker 8: It allows us to now target what they're operating and
- 10:26Speaker 8: to use other elements of American power, intelligence agencies, the
- 10:29Speaker 8: Department of Defense, whatever to target these groups. If we
- 10:32Speaker 8: have an opportunity to do it. We have to start
- 10:34Speaker 8: treating them as armed terrorist organizations, not simply drug dealing organizations.
- 10:39Speaker 7: That changes the battlefield. Cartel members become enemy combatants and
- 10:44Speaker 7: allow the use of military assets. The question is how
- 10:48Speaker 7: the Navy intercepting ships carrying narcotics special operations targeting cartel
- 10:53Speaker 7: leaders or drone strikes on drug labs in Mexico.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Mexico probably doesn't want that, but we have to do
- 11:00Speaker 4: what's right.
- 11:01Speaker 7: Publicly, President Claudia Scheinbaum says Mexico will cooperate, but claims
- 11:05Speaker 7: the US plans no boots on the ground, nothing in it.
- 11:09Speaker 6: It has nothing to do with Mexican territory.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It has to do with their country.
- 11:13Speaker 3: It does not involve our territory.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Yet, most cocaine goes through Mexico, and it produces most
- 11:20Speaker 7: of the FETE and all that killed more than two
- 11:22Speaker 7: hundred and sixty five thousand Americans during President Biden's term.
- 11:26Speaker 1: These are armed organizations that have their own militaries.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I absolutely believe that we need to take action.
- 11:33Speaker 6: It's what type of action are we going to take.
- 11:36Speaker 7: But just because you don't hear about an operation doesn't
- 11:38Speaker 7: mean it didn't happen. Now, one of the name cartels
- 11:41Speaker 7: is the Venezuelan gang Trende a Agua. Last week, the
- 11:45Speaker 7: US slept a fifty million dollar bounty. I'm President Nicholas Maduro,
- 11:49Speaker 7: accusing him of using it to help traffic narcotics into
- 11:52Speaker 7: the US.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Let's just stop there for a second and also just
- 11:56Speaker 4: recognize something that was said there. Under the Biden administration,
- 11:59Speaker 4: more than a quarter million Americans died from fetnyl, an
- 12:02Speaker 4: overdose from fetnyl. You think about that number, and then
- 12:06Speaker 4: you think about these cartels. They've engaged in historic violence
- 12:09Speaker 4: and tear throughout our hemisphere and around the globe. They
- 12:13Speaker 4: have destabilized the economies and internal security of countries while
- 12:17Speaker 4: also flooding the United States with deadly drugs, violent criminals,
- 12:22Speaker 4: and vicious gangs. That is what the Chief Pentagon spokesman,
- 12:26Speaker 4: Sean Parnell said during a news conference this week. He
- 12:29Speaker 4: also said this it requires a whole of government effort,
- 12:33Speaker 4: and through coordination with regional partners, the Department of Defense
- 12:37Speaker 4: will undoubtedly play an important role in meeting the Presence
- 12:40Speaker 4: objective to eliminate the ability of these cartels to threaten
- 12:43Speaker 4: the territory, safety, and the security of the United States
- 12:47Speaker 4: and its people. As a matter of security and policy,
- 12:51Speaker 4: we do not speculate on future operations now. What is
- 12:55Speaker 4: very clear is the Presence saying I'm not waiting around
- 12:59Speaker 4: for nations to act. I'm going to act now because
- 13:03Speaker 4: it's important that we protect and defend America's home win
- 13:06Speaker 4: and make sure that while he's present, another quarter million
- 13:09Speaker 4: Americans don't lose their lives to fetnal overdoses, and that
- 13:13Speaker 4: doesn't count all of those that are killed by cartel
- 13:16Speaker 4: members and the violent gangs that are in America as well.
