I started my first business at twelve years old when I convinced a local contractor in our small California resort town to lend me the use of a commercial dumpster. Every Sunday afternoon I’d set up my lawn chair and sign in front of the dumpster and charge visitors $5 a bag to dispose of their weekend’s garbage so they didn’t have to haul it home with them.
