- 0:19Speaker 1: me true good to tea the horty listening to toather
- 0:26Speaker 1: for stock hobby. Don't you join yeah by radio joining me? Honey?
- 0:58Speaker 1: Do turn yeah, don't go do you You gotta turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: to turn the turn you love? You got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 1: out to turn the water the water go? Comey, come
- 1:58Speaker 1: on your thing. Uh huh, I show will good morning
- 2:04Speaker 1: everybody you are listening to the voice, come on dig
- 2:07Speaker 1: me now. I wanted only Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Man got a radio show. Because God is in a
- 2:14Speaker 1: blessing business. I just happened to be a recipient. I
- 2:19Speaker 1: just happened to got a couple of things right, um,
- 2:25Speaker 1: and man, his grace and mercy carries you the rest
- 2:28Speaker 1: of the way. All you got to do is get
- 2:31Speaker 1: a couple of things right, and then his grace and
- 2:34Speaker 1: his mercy will take over his favor, his love of you.
- 2:39Speaker 1: It's it's already evident. I mean, you know, because so
- 2:42Speaker 1: many times we go along without even acknowledging him or
- 2:46Speaker 1: conferring with him in our decisions. And and we look
- 2:48Speaker 1: up and we find ourselves in a predicament, and he
- 2:51Speaker 1: always comes comes to the rescue. He always manages to
- 2:57Speaker 1: show up. He's never too late, he's never one minute
- 3:01Speaker 1: too late. And so in light of this today, I
- 3:05Speaker 1: wanted to talk to you about something. It's another principle
- 3:11Speaker 1: of success um that I'd like to share with everybody
- 3:15Speaker 1: this morning. And once again, these are not things that
- 3:18Speaker 1: you don't know or you've never heard before. These are
- 3:21Speaker 1: just reminders along the way. And one of the things
- 3:26Speaker 1: you have to be conscious of is don't be afraid
- 3:28Speaker 1: to change. Don't be afraid to change because change is
- 3:33Speaker 1: coming anyway. See, I have a theory, don't be afraid
- 3:39Speaker 1: to change because change is coming anyway. You know, everything changes,
- 3:44Speaker 1: nothing remains the same nothing, and change is inevitable. Now,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you can participate in the change, or you can react
- 3:55Speaker 1: to the change. Are you following me. You can participate
- 4:02Speaker 1: in the change or you can react to the change.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But don't be afraid to change because change is coming anyway. Now,
- 4:12Speaker 1: what I mean by that is this, in participating in
- 4:15Speaker 1: the change or reacting in the change, there is a difference. See,
- 4:22Speaker 1: if you react to the change, that means the change
- 4:25Speaker 1: has occurred, and now you have to make the necessary
- 4:29Speaker 1: adjustments to the change. Example, the boss walks in, You
- 4:36Speaker 1: think your job is good. The boss walks in and
- 4:38Speaker 1: hands you a pink slip. That right there, that's a change.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Now you didn't participate in this change because you didn't
- 4:49Speaker 1: ask for the pink slip. But now you've got to
- 4:51Speaker 1: react to the pink slip. Whenever you have to react
- 4:56Speaker 1: to the change, it's an adjustment period. It almost thows
- 5:01Speaker 1: you off. So change is going to come. It always does.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You can participate or you can react. All let's say
- 5:16Speaker 1: your boss comes in and hands you the pink slip,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and you said, you know what I've been preparing for
- 5:22Speaker 1: this day. Always knew nothing. Last forever, I've been working
- 5:28Speaker 1: on the sideline on the business idea I had, and
- 5:32Speaker 1: I had or I had several other applications in around town.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I was just holding off to see what was going gone.
- 5:39Speaker 1: So when they hand you the pink slip, the transition
- 5:42Speaker 1: to adjustment you make is a lot more smooth and
- 5:44Speaker 1: transition because now you just transition into your new business.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I did that. You've been working on. Are you transition
- 5:51Speaker 1: into the apps you already had in or the contact
- 5:54Speaker 1: you made the preparation for when the day they're coming
- 5:57Speaker 1: in hand you the pink slip. What's see what they
- 6:00Speaker 1: surprised you with it? This is just one example I'm
- 6:02Speaker 1: giving you, So you know, let's let's not nick pick
- 6:05Speaker 1: the message. So what I'm saying to everybody is, don't
- 6:11Speaker 1: be afraid to change because change is coming anyway. So
- 6:15Speaker 1: many people are stuck in a rut because of your
- 6:19Speaker 1: our refusal to change. I was hell bent on a
- 6:24Speaker 1: certain thing going a certain way, and this is how
- 6:27Speaker 1: I was gonna go. Well that that I was thinking
- 6:30Speaker 1: didn't really fit now in my own personal experience this
- 6:35Speaker 1: may not be yours, but in my own personal experience,
- 6:38Speaker 1: the things that I've had the most trouble letting go
- 6:41Speaker 1: of but needed to let go of with something I
- 6:45Speaker 1: wanted when I aligned myself up with the will of
- 6:49Speaker 1: God to ask God what he wanted for me. You
- 6:54Speaker 1: understand though, those things came a lot more easy to
- 6:59Speaker 1: me because it was in the will of God. It
- 7:02Speaker 1: was what God wanted me to do too. Okay, see
- 7:04Speaker 1: what you mean by that? Okay, here we go. Okay, okay,
- 7:07Speaker 1: here we go. Let me see if I can get
- 7:09Speaker 1: you an example. Okay, here we go. When things were
- 7:13Speaker 1: going wrong in in relationships, for me, what I did
- 7:21Speaker 1: was the biggest mistake I've ever made was I fixed.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I attempted to fix what was wrong in my relationship
- 7:29Speaker 1: outside of the relationship filming. Okay, now this is what
- 7:34Speaker 1: I this, this something I came up with. That's certainly
- 7:37Speaker 1: not the will of God. That's certainly not what he wants.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But this is what I came up with. So I'm
- 7:43Speaker 1: out there working my groove like I want to. Well, now,
- 7:47Speaker 1: guess what. There's a cause and effect for all of
- 7:49Speaker 1: that too. Your house ain't gonna get better, it can't.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And then that ladies room for some other things. And
- 7:59Speaker 1: so now when the change come, guess what I gotta
- 8:02Speaker 1: react to it? Now, I gotta, I gotta, I gotta
- 8:07Speaker 1: have a reaction to it. Had I aligned myself up
- 8:10Speaker 1: in the will of God, the transition may have gone differently.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It could have still ended the relationship. But guess what.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Some of the pain I was in and I ain't
- 8:22Speaker 1: had to go through, I bought a lot on myself.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Sometimes you're pursuing a passion of yours and what God
- 8:32Speaker 1: really wants you to do is pursue your gift. So
- 8:36Speaker 1: now you're pursuing your passion. Right, you're passionate about golf.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You love golf so much. You just determined, but now
- 8:43Speaker 1: you've messed around. You ain't made it on the p
- 8:46Speaker 1: G A Tour yet, and you fortify still talking about
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna play on the p G A tool. Really okay,
- 8:52Speaker 1: but you ain't made a cut, you ain't pass Q school,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you ain't see it's it's time for you to start
- 9:00Speaker 1: thinking about a change, because maybe you ain't as good
- 9:03Speaker 1: as as you think, or maybe you're not as gifted
- 9:05Speaker 1: as you think. Maybe you're pursuing a passion. Sometimes, man,
- 9:09Speaker 1: we have to change, and we have to ask God
- 9:13Speaker 1: what is his will? His will is much simpler. It's
- 9:16Speaker 1: a simpler rule. Not going to be easier, but it's simpler.
- 9:21Speaker 1: It's simpler. See. See when I wake up. Now, it's
- 9:24Speaker 1: simple for me to wake up because I know that
- 9:27Speaker 1: all a few things that I have to do. I
- 9:30Speaker 1: have to click this mic on. I have to be positive.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I have to be inspirational, I have to be informative.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I have to be uplifting, got it, that's what he wants.
- 9:42Speaker 1: So it's very simple. I don't have to figure out
- 9:44Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do the first twilve minutes of this show.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I don't have to go in here and wonder what
- 9:49Speaker 1: song I'm fit to play. What all I gotta do
- 9:51Speaker 1: is sit down, close my eyes, ask God to help
- 9:55Speaker 1: me be who he wants me to be. And for
- 9:58Speaker 1: the most part, he tell me what to say. Now,
- 10:01Speaker 1: guess what he's done though, to create this in me.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I went through enough things in my life. I had
- 10:08Speaker 1: enough challenges. I made plenty of mistakes. So I now,
- 10:12Speaker 1: at my age, I can turn around and tell somebody
- 10:15Speaker 1: listening to me, Okay, this is what I did. This
- 10:17Speaker 1: is a mistake I made. Maybe you see yourself in
- 10:19Speaker 1: this story right here, Maybe you don't have to go
- 10:21Speaker 1: this way. Or this is what I've learned about becoming successful.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Here's a principle that I learned. But then, guess what
- 10:27Speaker 1: I had to be unsuccessful to get it though, did not.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I had to get it wrong in order to get
- 10:33Speaker 1: it right. I had to be down in understanding how
- 10:37Speaker 1: to crawl back up. I had to go through some
- 10:39Speaker 1: pains to understand what it is to hang in there
- 10:42Speaker 1: and how to get delivered from the pain. So you
- 10:45Speaker 1: can't have a testimony without a test Change is coming,
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's inevitable. You can participate or you can react. I
- 10:52Speaker 1: much prefer to participate in the change. All right, let's
- 10:56Speaker 1: go to ladies, gentleman, boars and girls. Welcome to the
- 11:04Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. We are campside today after ranch
- 11:10Speaker 1: are the two fifty boys got in yesterday. We're doing wonderful.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Everything is good. It's early out here. Birds is chirping, uh,
- 11:21Speaker 1: cows is going on. End. I caught foe early this morning,
- 11:28Speaker 1: uh six yesterday evening and took a walk in the
- 11:31Speaker 1: rain with a flop patch smoking a cigar. I'm at
- 11:34Speaker 1: the damn camp. Hell, what's up, sherl. You been fishing?
- 11:39Speaker 1: You caught four? You've been fishing? Yeah, I called him
- 11:42Speaker 1: this morning. Fucker got on that early morning. Good time.
- 11:46Speaker 1: So while I'm on the A, I've already started the process.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm cooking a y'all, seven pounds bony and Boston. But
- 11:54Speaker 1: over there you got all the chicken tis. Get the
- 11:57Speaker 1: chicken tis and get three slabs. Yeah, you know not
- 12:02Speaker 1: my son out here with me. Yeah, he's a he's
- 12:07Speaker 1: a young pro grieler in the make it. Yeah, I'm
- 12:11Speaker 1: at the ramp, so y'all gonna hear a lot of
- 12:12Speaker 1: noises that ain't got nothing to do with this normal radio.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So you're in in the meat eating phase right now? Huh?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah I did. I was vegan for fifteen days, and
- 12:24Speaker 1: all of that was to get to this point right here,
- 12:28Speaker 1: now were at this point. Yeah, just three slabs is good.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So I see, yeah, yeah, you put the three in
- 12:35Speaker 1: the past. I just gotta keep talking with him. You know,
- 12:40Speaker 1: y'all know how I get when I get out here. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you'll be brand new. Yeah, well, good morning everybody, So
- 12:51Speaker 1: y'all quit waiting to hear your name. What good morning?
- 12:58Speaker 1: Don't get down there has not in functions. I'm mintoring
- 13:02Speaker 1: and I'm Bobby cuing. Wait you're doing I'm mintoring and
- 13:09Speaker 1: bu and pass that. The vegan thing is, Oh, I
- 13:13Speaker 1: was a vegan from fifteen days after Father's Day. I'm
- 13:17Speaker 1: gonna go back to being a vegan, oh, all the
- 13:21Speaker 1: way up to July. How much meat, Steve, do you
- 13:25Speaker 1: think you'll consume during this mental cuing? Well, I mean already, yeah, metting,
- 13:34Speaker 1: how much meat I'm gonna consume. Cook both both. Let's
- 13:38Speaker 1: have both first. How much do you think you're well,
- 13:41Speaker 1: let me explain something to you. I didn't ate already.
- 13:44Speaker 1: How much. Let's go in terms of like body weight? Pounds? Yeah, pounds.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I don't know about pounds. You add him up from chickens.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yesterday I had one of all brown chunk burger. H
- 14:02Speaker 1: to Earl Campbell hot links. Right at five pounds, I
- 14:07Speaker 1: think head a table, spoon, slow, half a bowl of breaking.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Gotta get vegetable. I got to get those veggies in
- 14:20Speaker 1: there seat. Yeah, I didn't want to interfe All right,
- 14:27Speaker 1: we'll contendere agrell right now. I'll take a picture for
- 14:31Speaker 1: you and you can put it over the wire. All right,
- 14:33Speaker 1: we'll be back with more of something funny. We'll just
- 14:36Speaker 1: do something funny. Steve's at the ranch, he's mentacuting. We'll
- 14:39Speaker 1: be back at thirty two thirty two after the hour
- 14:43Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Show. All right, Steve, it is
- 14:47Speaker 1: time for something funny. You are at your mentoring camp,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and uh, how's it going? Tell us about it. I
- 14:53Speaker 1: know you've eaten a lot of meat. We've counted so far.
- 14:56Speaker 1: About how many pounds five pounds of meat so far
- 14:59Speaker 1: that you've not today. It's when it gets, you know,
- 15:02Speaker 1: a little bit more, a little more active with the meat. Uh.
- 15:07Speaker 1: This morning I put on. Uh. The reason I sound
- 15:11Speaker 1: like this, y'all is because I'm out in the woods
- 15:14Speaker 1: and we're doing I'm doing the radio show from in
- 15:16Speaker 1: the middle of the woods. I'm at a really nice
- 15:19Speaker 1: cabin and in the middle of the woods about it
- 15:22Speaker 1: looked like about them two acre lake in front of me. Uh.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You know, I'm in the back. I'm on the backyard
- 15:28Speaker 1: and the port of Coachet covered. It's nice out here's
- 15:31Speaker 1: absolutely stunningly beautiful. But the sound this is what you
- 15:34Speaker 1: get when I'm at this ranch. So this is it.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So we're good. I'm out here. The two hundred fifty
- 15:39Speaker 1: boys I already here. They got in yesterday. I met
- 15:43Speaker 1: last night for the first time with the two hundred
- 15:46Speaker 1: fifty mothers, the junior counsels and everything. And so the
- 15:50Speaker 1: program is on my buddy Frank Hollam, who you're gonna
- 15:52Speaker 1: hear from a little bit later today, who runs my
- 15:55Speaker 1: boys mentoring program and got a book out called Manhood
- 15:59Speaker 1: one on one, which is a program that we created
- 16:02Speaker 1: UH to just talk to our boys about manhood. Another
- 16:06Speaker 1: boy that we had coming was scheduled to come to
- 16:10Speaker 1: the camp got sentenced yesterday and taken to prison. So
- 16:18Speaker 1: you know, man, what we're trying to do is effectively
- 16:21Speaker 1: changed the lives of young men in these neighborhoods that
- 16:25Speaker 1: do not get the proper mentorship. They got the wrong
- 16:29Speaker 1: role models. Man. And if you don't put the right
- 16:32Speaker 1: man in front of a little boy, if you don't
- 16:34Speaker 1: keep the right image in front of him, he gonna
- 16:37Speaker 1: be a man. It's just he gonna be the one
- 16:40Speaker 1: that he closely identifies me. And if it's troubled, then
- 16:43Speaker 1: we're gonna go do trouble because I want to be
- 16:46Speaker 1: like you. And that's what this program has to deal
- 16:50Speaker 1: with them. But we got a lot of success stories.
- 16:52Speaker 1: We've got far more success stories that we do failure.
- 16:55Speaker 1: There's just boys that didn't make it to the camp.
- 16:58Speaker 1: We got so many tremendous turned around story. Frank would
- 17:00Speaker 1: be here today to talk about it, but let's let's
- 17:04Speaker 1: talk about this for a minute. Shirley crew. Whatever. This morning,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I got up, I called folk Fish, then I came
- 17:17Speaker 1: on over to the backyard and I started getting ready
- 17:20Speaker 1: and I got a master built electric smoker that my
- 17:24Speaker 1: man John mckamore gives me every year. I'm gonna take
- 17:27Speaker 1: a picture of it, put it on a website. I
- 17:30Speaker 1: couldn't find a big Boston, but I only found a
- 17:33Speaker 1: seven pounder, So I got a seven pound Boston, but
- 17:37Speaker 1: completely injected, and well what is that? I injected it
- 17:46Speaker 1: with this sauce called cuz c u Z cuse. And
- 17:52Speaker 1: the slogan on the bottom is cause it go every it,
- 17:55Speaker 1: cause it go good with everything, because it go good
- 18:01Speaker 1: on everything. So they call it cuse. So I injected
- 18:06Speaker 1: it with cuse because I didn't get my right injections
- 18:09Speaker 1: that I normally do. But I'm out here in the woods.
- 18:11Speaker 1: What can I do. I don't have my regular world.
- 18:14Speaker 1: But I made a world today and I can't tell
- 18:21Speaker 1: you that I had to kill you. Oh it's a
- 18:23Speaker 1: secret about me? Or is this about barbecuing? Butecing right now?
- 18:36Speaker 1: And I cannot tell you what you tell us one
- 18:39Speaker 1: thing from pepperk that's probably the least of it. Yeah,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but okay, no, no, Pepprik is the majority, because that's
- 18:48Speaker 1: how you get the red color. You kind of want
- 18:51Speaker 1: a reddish tone on it a little bit, because when
- 18:54Speaker 1: it barks, it's better. Bark is when you put it
- 18:58Speaker 1: in there, and it creates like a crust on the
- 19:04Speaker 1: outside of the meet kind of what you're like when
- 19:06Speaker 1: you see her speak. Yeah. Yeah, it's called the bark
- 19:11Speaker 1: on the outside of it. So for every hour that
- 19:14Speaker 1: I have it, every hour that I'm every for every pound,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I put it in there for one hour, so to
- 19:24Speaker 1: be in there for almost seven hours today. Then I
- 19:27Speaker 1: take it out. And after the seven hours is up,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I take it inside and I laying in that nicket.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I take it inside and I wrap it in fall
- 19:37Speaker 1: six times. I put it back in there for three
- 19:40Speaker 1: and a half hours half the time. And what happens
- 19:44Speaker 1: after that? And then then I take it out and
- 19:47Speaker 1: then you can pull the bone out with your frank. Oh.
- 19:51Speaker 1: So it's like it's that tender fall off the bone tender,
- 19:56Speaker 1: oh girl girl. So that's already started. And then uh,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna do three slabs this morning, Okay, when you
- 20:14Speaker 1: have by the time this radio show over with the
- 20:17Speaker 1: Realms will be ready when you have to. And and
- 20:25Speaker 1: I don't oh that mint and that's going on all day.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I got a lot of men out here, A lot
- 20:30Speaker 1: of frat brothers rank down there. They run that camp.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I got about fifty sixty millen down there. Most of
- 20:37Speaker 1: them queues o makea sp fire. Mien of Omega come
- 20:41Speaker 1: down and volunteered. They stayed with the boys. They don't
- 20:44Speaker 1: stay at hotels. They stayed in the tents with the boys.
- 20:48Speaker 1: They sleep for cots with them. They let them boys know, look,
- 20:52Speaker 1: we care about you. We ride and die with you.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That that yeah, it really is. That could and that
- 21:00Speaker 1: can make all the difference. It really can. Man, you
- 21:04Speaker 1: don't know the lives we've changed. Frank will be here
- 21:06Speaker 1: to talk about some of a little bit late on.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Frank Hollum or the author manhood won on one and
- 21:11Speaker 1: he's gonna be here to tell us about some of
- 21:13Speaker 1: the boys, the success stories to progress what we do.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Because he's the guy that makes it all. He's the
- 21:19Speaker 1: grounds on, boots on the ground guy. For me, I'm
- 21:22Speaker 1: you know, I'm the celebrity. You know, I get all
- 21:32Speaker 1: the damn credit and then if they need money, then
- 21:35Speaker 1: I gotta pay. All right, We'll be talking about mentoring,
- 21:38Speaker 1: among other things, all morning long. Okay, this is the
- 21:41Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning show. Coming up next, it's the Nephews.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Run that frank back. Right after this, you're listening to
- 21:48Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Show. Coming up. At the top of the hour,
- 21:52Speaker 1: we'll have some entertainment news for you. Jamie Fox is
- 21:55Speaker 1: in the news and San Francisco has their first black mayor.
- 21:59Speaker 1: How about that she's a female too. U. We'll tell
- 22:03Speaker 1: you all about that at the top of the hour,
- 22:05Speaker 1: But right now it is time to run that prank back.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Junior said that, please, Yeah, I dropped your white time

- 29:21Speaker 1: Tell me you're the ging of pranks. All right, thank
- 29:24Speaker 1: you Junior for nephew, Thank you very much. Hey listen, guys,
- 29:28Speaker 1: a new survey has found that many women are still
- 29:31Speaker 1: loving dad bogs. You know what dad bots are when
- 29:33Speaker 1: they have a little love, a little love the middle. Okay.
- 29:38Speaker 1: New survey found the sixty seven percent of women found
- 29:41Speaker 1: dad bots attractive. Sixty too. That's Jay slapping dad Bob.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Let's keep your lights on right here, baby, making money?
- 29:56Speaker 1: Women women like that. Sixty percent of women went as
- 29:59Speaker 1: far as just say the dad bots were sexy. Uh,
- 30:02Speaker 1: So there you go. They like dad bots. About what
- 30:08Speaker 1: is it? Steve? The thing for me what a dead
- 30:11Speaker 1: body is? This is not good or stomach. This is
- 30:17Speaker 1: actually income. I guess I like it. Well, the women
- 30:25Speaker 1: like it, Steve, so hey, keep doing what you're doing.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Uh as far as that income is concerned. Coming up
- 30:30Speaker 1: next in entertainment news, Jamie fox Man, this story is
- 30:34Speaker 1: kind of crazy. Uh, and black Girl magic in San Francisco.
- 30:37Speaker 1: We'll talk about that as well. Right after this. You're
- 30:40Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up in
- 30:45Speaker 1: twenty minutes on this Father's Day weekend, We're going to
- 30:48Speaker 1: talk about backlash. Uh. Target is receiving over some baby
- 30:53Speaker 1: daddy greeting cards. Guys. Uh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you
- 30:58Speaker 1: heard me. Well, yeah, we'll get to that first. We
- 31:03Speaker 1: gotta tell you this Jamie Fox story of a woman
- 31:06Speaker 1: is accusing Jamie of slapping her in the face. Okay,
- 31:11Speaker 1: but not with his hand. Not with his hand. Think lower,
- 31:15Speaker 1: lower than a scene, much lower. Uh. The alleged incident
- 31:20Speaker 1: took place in two thousand two. The unidentified woman claims
- 31:24Speaker 1: that she and a friend were at Jamie's house in
- 31:27Speaker 1: Las Vegas four party when he asked her to sing
- 31:31Speaker 1: into his sugar stick. Well, when she refused, he allegedly
- 31:35Speaker 1: slapped her in the face with it. She went to
- 31:37Speaker 1: the hospital in Los Angeles the next day to be
- 31:40Speaker 1: treated for a severe panic attack. However, she didn't make
- 31:44Speaker 1: it into the police station to report the incident until
- 31:47Speaker 1: last week. Jamie denies that the incident ever happened and
- 31:50Speaker 1: plans to file his own police report. According to Jamie's lawyer,
- 31:54Speaker 1: the first time he became aware of this woman's absurd
- 31:57Speaker 1: claims about an incident that supposedly occurred sixteen years ago.
- 32:02Speaker 1: So there you go, slap in the face. You know, yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 1: what what is it? You know? I mean, come on
- 32:12Speaker 1: now saying and I just don't, I don't. Don't you
- 32:17Speaker 1: know that? Does it make sense? Yeah? I mean yeah,
- 32:23Speaker 1: we don't know. I mean, you know what, see, you
- 32:26Speaker 1: know what it's. It's it's a it's a boundless position
- 32:28Speaker 1: for me to be in because he's a friend of mine.
- 32:32Speaker 1: And then I have actually seen lots of my friends
- 32:36Speaker 1: get falsely accused of something for people trying to get
- 32:39Speaker 1: some money, trying to get a settlement check. Hey, we
- 32:42Speaker 1: can all make this go away for fifty thousand. I've
- 32:46Speaker 1: seen it a minimum of a hundred times. That it
- 32:50Speaker 1: happens to celebrities all the time. Every woman that comes
- 32:54Speaker 1: forward is not playing that are women who come forward
- 32:59Speaker 1: who have real claims against people and addressed you shouldn't
- 33:04Speaker 1: be allowed to do that. But just right here, sixteen
- 33:08Speaker 1: years old, he slapped in the faith with his peenles.
- 33:13Speaker 1: All right, Well, Jamie says, well, we'll have to see
- 33:16Speaker 1: how this story plays out, Steve, because he said he's
- 33:18Speaker 1: planning on filing his own police report. We'll see how
- 33:21Speaker 1: that goes. H He has an attorney looking into it,
- 33:24Speaker 1: so we'll see how it goes. This happened allegedly in
- 33:27Speaker 1: two thousand two, and um, you know, we'll see what happens. Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 1: it's a crazy story though story. Yeah it really is, Steve,
- 33:39Speaker 1: it really really is. The Yeah, alright, we're moving on now.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Black girl magic in the Bay Area. Uh. San Francisco
- 33:48Speaker 1: is getting his first black female mayor. Congratulations. City Supervisor
- 33:54Speaker 1: London Breed has finally emerged victorious after eight days of
- 33:58Speaker 1: tallying votes. Breed, who grew up poor in the city,
- 34:02Speaker 1: ran on a platform of alleviating San Francisco's homeless problem
- 34:06Speaker 1: while maintaining its overall economic momentum. The June fifth election
- 34:11Speaker 1: was held to fill the slot left by the death
- 34:13Speaker 1: of Mayor Ed Lee in December. I remember when he
- 34:16Speaker 1: passed away. So now they finally filled that spot. So
- 34:19Speaker 1: congratulations to London Breed. All right, now, Steve mssanna is
- 34:23Speaker 1: here with our national news. Please introducer, ladies and gentlemen,
- 34:28Speaker 1: MS and trip, thank you, Thank you everybody. This is
- 34:32Speaker 1: entrep with the news. Okay, the results of an independent
- 34:34Speaker 1: report into how the investigation to Hillary Clinton's emails was conducted,
- 34:38Speaker 1: finds mistakes but no political motivation. Inspector General Michael Harvits
- 34:43Speaker 1: says that a while former FBI Director James Comby did
- 34:46Speaker 1: act in an extraordinary and insubordinate way by taking over
- 34:49Speaker 1: the emails pro from his bosses at the Justice Department,
- 34:52Speaker 1: that investigators found no evidence of the pro was tainted
- 34:55Speaker 1: by any political bias. Inspector General Lowe has, however, referred
- 34:59Speaker 1: five FBI officials for possible internal disciplinary action. Looks like
- 35:03Speaker 1: the tr administration will not be moved from a zero
- 35:05Speaker 1: tolerance policy where it concerns undocumented immigrants arriving at the
- 35:10Speaker 1: US border with their children. Adults are being separated from
- 35:13Speaker 1: their children, and the White House says as part of
- 35:14Speaker 1: a broad and necessary crackdown on illegal immigration. Now when
- 35:19Speaker 1: challenged by the Capitol Hill Press Corps yesterday and Sarah
- 35:22Speaker 1: and they will yelling back at her, Sary Huckaby Sanders
- 35:24Speaker 1: blamed it all on the Democrats. The separation of illegal
- 35:28Speaker 1: family alien families is the product of the same legal
- 35:31Speaker 1: loopholes that Democrats refused to close, and these laws are
- 35:35Speaker 1: the same that have been on the books for over
- 35:36Speaker 1: a decade and the President is simply enforcing them. Yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 1: well anyway. Nevertheless, the policy has sparked widespread criticism from
- 35:44Speaker 1: Christians as well as other faiths. A group a Catholic bishop,
- 35:47Speaker 1: for instance, in Miami, described the family separation policy as
- 35:51Speaker 1: a moral one bishop even suggesting that Catholics who participating
- 35:54Speaker 1: the policy could be stripped of their right to receive
- 35:57Speaker 1: the sacraments. Southern Baptists, at their annual meeting this week
- 36:00Speaker 1: in Texas, spoke out against the family separation policy, as
- 36:03Speaker 1: did an interfaith group convened by the Evangelical Lutheran Church
- 36:07Speaker 1: in of America. Diaring news from the trustees who oversee
- 36:11Speaker 1: both Medicare and Social Security programs, they say that they're
- 36:14Speaker 1: not looking too strong. In fact, they say it looks
- 36:16Speaker 1: like Medicare is fund for patient care, could run out
- 36:19Speaker 1: of money in twenty six and that Social Security could
- 36:22Speaker 1: become insolvement or bankrupt by the year twenty thirty four.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Target and American Greetings apologizing for putting out a Father's
- 36:29Speaker 1: Day card with a black couple on the front that
- 36:31Speaker 1: reads baby Daddy instead of dad or father. A number
- 36:35Speaker 1: of African American shoppers that were offended posting pictures of
- 36:38Speaker 1: the card online, complained to the store and the company
- 36:41Speaker 1: that made the card that it promotes a stereotype about
- 36:44Speaker 1: black men, that they don't marry before having children, and
- 36:47Speaker 1: that their children don't carry their names. So they didn't
- 36:49Speaker 1: let that at all. It seems like to Albert Einstein's
- 36:52Speaker 1: theories weren't all that, you know, great and enlightening. The
- 36:55Speaker 1: renowned physicists expressed racist views, for instance, about Chinese people
- 36:58Speaker 1: in the Yearly. His diary Diary translated says he complains
- 37:03Speaker 1: about Chinese people's quote abundance of offspring, and said, quote,
- 37:07Speaker 1: it would be a pity if these Chinese supplant all
- 37:09Speaker 1: other races for the likes of us. The mere thought
- 37:12Speaker 1: is unspeakably dreary. Now you got that. But then on
- 37:14Speaker 1: the other hand, Einstein Einstein rather fled his Nazi Germany
- 37:18Speaker 1: to get away from the Nazis, later settling in the US,
- 37:21Speaker 1: and he called racism the disease of white people, and
- 37:25Speaker 1: he fought against segregation. So you know, some good things,
- 37:27Speaker 1: some bad things. Today Finally, National Smile Power Days. I
- 37:33Speaker 1: would miss everybody's smiles. We'll be back with more entertainment
- 37:36Speaker 1: in today's trending topics. Twenty minutes after the hour on
- 37:39Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show, You're listening to show? All right?
- 37:44Speaker 1: Target is in the hot seat now, guys apologizing uh
- 37:48Speaker 1: two offended customers after shoppers began slamming Target for offering
- 37:53Speaker 1: baby daddy greeting cards ahead of Father's Day this weekend,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and after one Twitter user yeah what? After one Twitter
- 38:02Speaker 1: user call them um an insult to black fathers and
- 38:06Speaker 1: a slap in the face to the African American community
- 38:09Speaker 1: as a whole. Um, as a whole. We want all
- 38:12Speaker 1: guests to feel welcomed and respected when they shop at Target.
- 38:15Speaker 1: This is according to Joshua Thomas, a spokesperson for Target.
- 38:19Speaker 1: He shared the statement on Fox News. He said, we
- 38:23Speaker 1: were made aware of some concerns about this card last
- 38:25Speaker 1: week and are working with our vendor to UH have
- 38:29Speaker 1: it removed from Target stores. One commenter pointed out that
- 38:32Speaker 1: the inside of the card use the words husband and
- 38:35Speaker 1: father and included a happy Father's Day, and baby daddy
- 38:39Speaker 1: is not a term of endearment. So what do you
- 38:42Speaker 1: think about the baby daddy baby daddy greeting card? Steve
- 38:45Speaker 1: and guys, I mean doesn't have black people on the
- 38:48Speaker 1: face of it, Yes, the image, what do you mean?
- 38:53Speaker 1: I mean, well, you know what it's like this, There
- 38:58Speaker 1: are a lot of them, and who refer to the
- 39:02Speaker 1: father that's my baby's daddy. That may not be the husband,
- 39:06Speaker 1: they may not even be in the relationship with them.
- 39:09Speaker 1: This is the child and my father and that little
- 39:11Speaker 1: humorous terms that's my baby daddy. You know you're saying,
- 39:15Speaker 1: it's a fact that that is. I wouldn't wake target
- 39:21Speaker 1: over the colds for this, It's what I'm saying, because
- 39:24Speaker 1: you know, if if people find a defensive then just
- 39:27Speaker 1: go ahead and take the card off the shelves. And
- 39:29Speaker 1: they said they do that. That's it. But you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: the heads of targets don't read every card that come
- 39:34Speaker 1: through the door. You don't know. You've got buyers in
- 39:36Speaker 1: every division of all these big stories. You've got the
- 39:39Speaker 1: greeting card buyer, you got to you know, food buyer,
- 39:43Speaker 1: you got the poetry you can mean, you know fish,
- 39:45Speaker 1: you got to produce section. You know these buyers, man,
- 39:48Speaker 1: you never know, they could have just slid one in
- 39:50Speaker 1: on them. You know, the makers of the card. Hey,

- 56:20Speaker 1: here we go. Thank you, Junior a k A nephew subjects.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I don't deserve any of this, Okay, Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 56:27Speaker 1: I have coached baseball for ten years, and in those
- 56:30Speaker 1: ten years, I have never had a child quit my team,
- 56:34Speaker 1: nor have any parents ever complained about my coaching style. Well,
- 56:37Speaker 1: last year, a parent from the opposing team yelled at
- 56:41Speaker 1: me and called me out of my name. It was
- 56:44Speaker 1: all over whether or not his son was safe or
- 56:46Speaker 1: not during safer out during a game. Things got heated
- 56:50Speaker 1: and we had a shouting match in the parking lot.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Other parents and kids were around, but I didn't see
- 56:55Speaker 1: it as a big deal. My team went on to
- 56:58Speaker 1: win the Peewee Championship for two thousand seventeen. After the
- 57:01Speaker 1: big championship game, that same parent that I had argued
- 57:05Speaker 1: with started rumors that I was a hothead with a
- 57:08Speaker 1: bad temper and I should be replaced as the coach.
- 57:11Speaker 1: I ended up having to go in front of our
- 57:13Speaker 1: local Parks and Recreation Board to dispute the claims. After
- 57:18Speaker 1: hearing from me and several witnesses, I was suspended indefinitely
- 57:22Speaker 1: from coaching miners. This was a devastating blow because it's
- 57:26Speaker 1: my daughter's first year on the pee wee team and
- 57:29Speaker 1: I won't be able to coach her. I also have
- 57:31Speaker 1: been permanently banned from all of the parks, so I
- 57:34Speaker 1: can't even attend my daughter's games. This is all a
- 57:38Speaker 1: big mess. I merely argued with this other parent. I
- 57:42Speaker 1: did not put my hands on him. Coaching baseball is
- 57:45Speaker 1: my passion. So what can I do to clear my
- 57:48Speaker 1: name and get back to doing what I love? Please help? Wow?
- 57:52Speaker 1: So sorry this happened to you. This is crazy. This
- 57:55Speaker 1: is an unbelievable story, and shame on the Parks and
- 57:59Speaker 1: Recreation Board for not even considering your entire unmarked history
- 58:04Speaker 1: with the team. You won the championship. All of that,
- 58:06Speaker 1: You said you've never had any complaints. Well, surely the
- 58:09Speaker 1: board knows that. If they don't, you gotta let them know.
- 58:13Speaker 1: But having said that, I just these rules and standards
- 58:17Speaker 1: at the park throughout you know, they have to have
- 58:19Speaker 1: some It means that you shouldn't get into it with
- 58:23Speaker 1: parents of your opposing team or any team. As a leader,
- 58:27Speaker 1: you can't do that. You know, you're an example out
- 58:29Speaker 1: there to these young kids that you're mentoring and teaching
- 58:33Speaker 1: and coaching. You have to have decorum, You have to
- 58:35Speaker 1: have uh, some sort of self control. You have to
- 58:38Speaker 1: exercise that around these kids. And and uh, I'm sure
- 58:42Speaker 1: the Parks and Recreations Board don't want to see you,
- 58:45Speaker 1: you know, do that in front of the kids, and
- 58:47Speaker 1: and that's one of the reasons they suspended you. But
- 58:50Speaker 1: I'm just surprised that they don't know your record. They
- 58:53Speaker 1: haven't seen, uh, you know, what you've done with these kids.
- 58:56Speaker 1: And for the last ten years, were they just trying
- 58:58Speaker 1: to get rid of you? And this was what they
- 59:00Speaker 1: needed to do that. I don't understand your winning coach
- 59:04Speaker 1: all of that, but you snapped and you lost it.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Surely you if anyone deserves a second chance, Steve Well,
- 59:14Speaker 1: this letter has some missing information. First of all, I
- 59:20Speaker 1: feel for this guy, but you know, parents and these kids,
- 59:26Speaker 1: they start more mess More messes started in the stands,
- 59:30Speaker 1: on sidelines and then park A lot than ever actually
- 59:34Speaker 1: happens on the fields. Right now this all started, somebody
- 59:39Speaker 1: got called out. It was all over whether or not
- 59:43Speaker 1: his son was safe or out doing a game. Now
- 59:46Speaker 1: a little parks boyd probably slow and was out. Not slow, Steve,
- 59:53Speaker 1: he slow. But you know you when you get called
- 59:57Speaker 1: out this course, you wasn't fast enough getting to one
- 59:59Speaker 1: of them base, back to a base and somebody said
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you was out. Well you out man, And because you
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: don't have digital stuff like they're doing the majors, you out.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Now here's a parent who can't believe that they slow, asked,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: boy is out like here? Ain't ever been out before? Huh?
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: You know, Carla is it's here, mom. You know she's
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: on the sidelines. You know I'm talking to her, you know,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I said, I said, the majority of the mess that
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: happened happens in the stands, on the sidelines and in
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: the parkts. This this letter is gonna be about call
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: within the next two years. That's why she flatten. Her
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: apparent yelled me for calling his son out about say
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: like this board, Listen, folks, if you play baseball. A
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: great baseball players batting average is three hundred, that's a
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: great baseball player. Do you get a batting average by
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: the corner by how many ten attempts at to play?
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Do you get safely on base? That's a thirty percent
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: success ratio. If you're thirty percent successful in the major leagues,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: you are very, very rich person. But you're gonna be
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: out seven times some kind of way, pop out, fly out,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: ground out, tag out something. How to hate? You got
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: this little slow ass ten year old boy and now
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: he out. You can't believe it? And I got some
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: more news. Get the ass ain't gonna be playing major
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: league baseball. How you gonna say that? Because the dady're
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: gonna ruin his day a career. That's why. Well, now
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: things got heated. We had a shouting match in the
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: parket lot. All the parents and kids was around. You
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: didn't see it as a big deal. See that when
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: you said they got heated in the parket lot and
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: got into a shouting match, what was shouting that ain't
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: in the letter ship. He called him out of his name,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: that's all he said. Yeah, but now that could be
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: a lot of things. I'm gonna give you some examples
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: that can get you banned from all parts that we
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: could say on the radio. See he didn't, you didn't. No,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I can't say nothing. Okay, but you was here that
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: all right? Listen, Uh hank tight, Steve. We'll have part
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: two of your response coming on to this letter that's
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: about Carla. Uh subject, I don't deserve any of this.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: We'll be back in twenty three after the hour you're
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Hardy Show. Here we are back
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: with part two of today's Strawberry letter. I don't deserve
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: any of this is the subject. Uh, Steve. You're down
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: at the mentoring camp with two hundred and fifty boys
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: getting ready to mentor them and set them on a
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: path to uh great manhood and fatherhood and all those things.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: We applaud you definitely for that. Uh. And while you're there,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: you're still working. You're always working, always working. And we
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: want to hear a part two of your response to
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter, which is really a disguised as a
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: letter about Carla. This man and got banned from all
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: parks increation. He can't go to games no more because
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: he got an argument with somebody on opposing team, but
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: they slow as baby being out. That's daughter told you
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: seven out of killings. A major league player is out,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: you're gonna be out. You get more outs than you do,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: stafe in baseball, ain't nobody back in six hunted. They
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: take the average tim swings piers place, and then the
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: average times you get on bait. If you three hundred,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you're a rich person and famous and you're playing baseball
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: rest of your life. Get a little park head boy
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: probably ain't even been on base this year. Now you
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: haven't got into a heated argument, and you say it
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: wasn't no big deal. Heated words, wasn't change you argent
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: and all like this here, what did you say that
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: now has it where your ass can't go to? No,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: damn parks don't. Yeah, he's been from Did you say
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: about this man's board? Yeah? And see the reason I
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: know see what happened was after you went to the
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: board in front of the parks and restonation board, after
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: you testified and witnesses, after hearing from us several witnesses,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you were suspended and definitely from coaching minor. You can't
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: even talk to kids no more. You damn you gotta
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: get registered. He leave. You're saying something so crazy. You're
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: slow and boy, you are not. You can't say to
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: the part I don't say truck about your little slow.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: And I said, man, I think that was a bad
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: call you made about my son out there. You're what
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: was a bad call? He was? He was the way
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I saw he was safe. He looks safe to me.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: A damn about what you saw in the coach, Yes,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: you ain't the only one got eyes out here. Well
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He come here and weak
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: and all I'm saying is you know that come here.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: We've been saved man time this week. Here's answers out
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: got him on the damn pete. How do you think
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: that made him feel as a little boy, for you
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: to talk to him that way when he feels he
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: doesn't say, somebody needs to raise it. Coach, you ain't.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Oh your question A you questioned me as a parent,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I'm questioning you as a man with a boy that
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: ain't really no damn baseball. My son is the best
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: player on this damn team. Man, your damn flow and
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: boy ain't been on base this year and drop four
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: team fly ball. He's on sixteen eras in four games.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: That's because the sun was in his eye. The sun
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: and everybody everybody the same fun or everybody else hands.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: He's slow and he can't see. I don't I don't
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: like the way you talk to me as a father,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: and I definitely don't like your coaching skills. Man, truck
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: you suck and trucking. All these people in this parking lot,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: they're standing around like your answers witnesses. You've been coaching
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: for ten's my colors. I don't give a sugar fund
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: or a damn recreation. Obviously, Well I will make some calls.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: You will not be here next year. That's the damn
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: ship makes a call. Why didn't give sugar? No, damn
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: you've done call on me. Your ass whipped in front
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: of this little don't make it ten in your cap,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: and you whistle, dammit right now my whistle. Come on,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: you're trying to take my whistle up. Oh well, I
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: won't need to whistle because I'm gonna squeeze your stomach
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: because I'm wonna push my whistle so far off into
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: cracking wood. Whistle fun me, just damn tasting whisp. You're
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: gonna be wearing your coach. Damn right on the coach,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I wrote all this thing looking at well, we got
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: our phone, y'all reporting on the phone, what coaching baseball is?
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: His passion told y'all passionate, that's what happened. That's what
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: happens when you go in front of the party recreation board.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: And then that's what the witnesses says video. So now
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: he's miserable because now this is his daughter's first year
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: and he can't even go to the parks. He's been
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: banned from all parks and you can't talk to no mind.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: He said, what happened? You the equivalent? That's not equivalent.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: He got the same penalty to tell yourself sex offenders
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: can't go with it, or two of y'alls in school
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: playgrounds nothing. So now that's what didn't have near. Now, dog,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I know you didn't tell us what all happened. We
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: feel for you. The only suggestion I have is maybe
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: you could transfer your daughter where you be able to
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: go see her play. But why should she have to
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: suffer because your inability to keep your cool? If I
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: was you, I would appeal the decision. Go to the
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: parks and recreation tell him you saw go to the
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: opposing father and say, man, can you help me? I
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: won't coach, but I do want to see my child play.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Would you help management and anger management? Definitely state or
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: if you don't help me, that's why you're banned. All right, Steve,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: we gotta get out of here, Email us or Instagram.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: That's your thoughts today on the Today's Strawberry Letter at
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: my Girl Shirley coming up in ten minutes, Steve will
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: give us an update on your mentoring camp and we're
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: gonna talk to uh one of your your great mentor
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: mentors out there, Frank Hallum who has a brand new
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Frank Hollam is next. Yeah, you're listening to Steve. This
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: is brought to you by Master Build and Master Build

- 1:10:33Speaker 1: for smoked masterpiece this Father's Day by Registry Today. Steve,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: you're in Georgia, as we've been mentioning all morning. This
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: week starts your mentoring camp down in Georgia, and um,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: you have a special guest with you, one of your
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: mentors and a good friend. He's written a book called
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Manhood one oh one. It's a single mother's guy to
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: raise in the Sun. I'm bringing Frank on because there's
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: an aspect of my memory camp that we don't talk
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: about that much. We mentor boys. Are two main objectives
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: that this men and in camp is to teach manhood
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: and dream building. Because if you can get them to
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: understand what real men do. The real men on the god,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: real men go to church, real men raised their children,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: real men respecting on the women. Real men are law body,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: real men go to work every day. Once we get
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: them to understand that we have to fight against what
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: they've learned on the internet, videos, music videos and all this,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: then we get into heavily into their dreams, which is
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: something school systems failed to do. We focused on the
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: dream to get boys to dream outside of their current conditions,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: their surroundings and know the dreams are possible. And once
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: we do that, then then we can start shaping good men.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: But A big part of the program is we were
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: teaching all this to the boys, sending them back homes,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: and the mothers, unknowingly were undoing what we had talked them.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: You don't be doing all that. Get in the car now,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: the boy trying to make sure you in the car.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Get on that escalator so we can go. Now, your
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: boy waiting on you to get on the escalator first,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: so if something happened and you fall, he can catch
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: his mother. So we decided, man, we gotta help these
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: mothers and educate these mothers about the attitudes and boys
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: and things you could do. So Frank, who heads up
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: the boy's mentoring program, he's like the second in command
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: over there behind me, but he is the hands on
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: day to day guy that handles all of the mentors,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: all of the mentees, all of the aftercare programs because
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: we stay in touch with all these boys. But Frank
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: has written a book to help mothers to take home
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: with them and to help moms who have sons on
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: the things to look out for and how to talk
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: and guide your son best you can until we get
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: a male mentor in his life. So the book is
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: called Manhood One on One, a single Mother's Guide to
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Raising the Sun. Here's Frank calling, Frank, how you doing that?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I'm doing pretty good? He was doing on good man.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: So tell us how the women's program works. Well, what
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: we do We give the moms the same principles that
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: we give the boys. So we teach mom principles to
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: a manhood so that they learn how to raise their sons.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: So we give them financial literacy, We teach them about them,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: we teach them about dream building. They think they can't
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: continue to dream, so we let them know. Hey, a
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: boy is looking at you. He goes back home to
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: being a product of his environment. He's looking at you,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: so you're the first one that he sees success and
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: failures in. So the book has some coping skills to
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: teach them how to look for doing things that the
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: boy looking at his mom. I saw my mom becomes
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: successful and that's how I did it. See that's really
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: big because what we're finding out is that so many
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: single mothers are faced with the daunting task of raising boys.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: And it's a team for them because women have never
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: been men, and they're so stuck because they love these
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: boys with everything in them, and they'll do anything. All
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: these mothers. You know the number one thing they say
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: to us. I don't want my boy to go to prison,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: and I don't want my son to die, and I
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: don't know how to keep it out them streets. I
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: don't know how to answer any of those questions. So
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Frank wrote this book, Manhood, one on one, a single
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Mother's guy to RASA. How can you get it, Frank?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: So you can go to Frank Hallam dot com. That's
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Frank h A L l u M dot com, Frank
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Hallum h A l l u M dot com and
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: you can get his book today. No one puts more
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: time in with these boys than Frank, no one. Frank
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: handles all the after care programs for the boys throughout
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: each other throughout the year. Frank helps it with the
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: selection of the boys. And we have a lot of
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: problem kids. I was telling y'all earlier just how important
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: this program is. Just yesterday we got a call from
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: a mother that first before the camp started crying hysterically.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: They got my baby. He had been picked up for
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: harm robbery, so he couldn't come to the camp, So
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: we lost the seat. Another boy was coming through the
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: camp that one of my other mentors handled flat brother,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Big Blue co quit. That boy got sent us to
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: prison yesterday, so he won't be at the program. We
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: are in a desperate state with saving our young men's lives,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: and we are and we've got to help these mothers
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: who are raising these boys. And we need more mentors,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: we need more men, we need more money. I keep
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: funding best I can, but soon, and very soon, through
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: God's grace, and I will go from changing hundreds of
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: boys lives to millions of lives. The goal is to
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: save millions of lives. And so I want to thank
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Frank for coming out today. Thank you Frank for all
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: that you do for the program, and don't forget everybody.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Go to Frank Hallam dot com. That's Frank H A

- 1:16:50Speaker 1: all the single moms out there do. You can find
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: more information about mentoring and how to how to join

- 1:17:02Speaker 1: A Nigerian man buried his father in a BMW wanted
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: to be buried dead week? Yeah, is this some sort
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: of trend. We'll be back right after this. You're listening
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: to Steve. Okay, Steve, there's a story in the news
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: about this Nigerian uh man who honored his father by
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: burying him in a luxury BMW. So um instead of
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: a coffin. Um. He tells why he did it. Anyway,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Before before we get to that, though, Jay has a
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: story for you that you have to hear. You have
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: got to hear this story, so I'll buddy. George Wallace.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: George Wallace was at the club this week, you know,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: and he talked about my mamma, which is what he
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: always does. No problem with anyone in West Manchester Avenue
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: in Los Angeles, California club my club, so he dogs
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: my mama, No problem, no problem. But I'm looking at
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: George d and he's got a brand new set of
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: teeth that that that don't fit either either. They're not
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: in his teeth. And there's a there's a three year
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: old with a grown man mouth walking walking around on
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: somewhere with three old man mouth right now? What are
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: they too little? And see they're about to come out?
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: I was I was hoping they would fall out on
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: the stage on the stage. Are they they're not his?
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: That you're saying he got baby teeth? That they're not baby.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: They're just in a small they belong in a small amount. Okay, okay,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: let me mash you. Let me ask you a couple
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: of questions. Yeah, when he smiled, do they look like corn?
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: They look they looked tiny on this corn to look
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: like sunflower seed, George, George Waller Kieth, you know, you
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: know that's so handed man. All I'm saying that there's
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: a little boy somewhere in school with the mouth of
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: an eighty two year old man. There's a little boy
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: in school with a figure smile right now. So when
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: he talked to me, like coming out when he's talking there,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: they look like they're about to leave him, like like
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: they look like they got something else to do. There
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: is a six year old Sofare smiling like sen Hall. Yeah.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: So if you see George, please direct him so he
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: can get his teeth. This little boy, it's in school
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: right now. And now let me ask you a question.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: You got it? Did you go on stage and say
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: that just like I said it to you? But that's
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: still my friend, team George Jake. They were crying because
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: they saw it. They couldn't see what everybody knew. Ifybody
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: knew what was going on. I don't call anything being
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: wrong with his other teeth. No, No, he just got
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: he got new teeth. I don't know what the hell
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: going on. Is always trying, he's always trying to improve
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: on it, ugly saying it's a little boy three yeld mouth. Yeah,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: it's a little blessing ten of some peanut brittle right now. Well,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: from that story to this story, Steve, this Nigerian man
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: who honored his father by burying him in a brand
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: new luxury BMW instead of a coffin, has revealed why
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: he did it. The wealthy man identified as Azu buke
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Uh revealed that he took the unusual step after he
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: had promised his father he would buy him a flashy car,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: but before he could achieve the dream, unfortunately, his father
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: passed away. So after his father died recently due to
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: old age in a remote village of uh Ehialia, Nigeria,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: azubuk brought a brand new car worth sixty six thousand
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: dollars from a show room to bury his father and
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: fulfill his promise. A picture of the burial caused a
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: stir on social media. The photo taken at the funeral
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: shows a huge grade DOUG six ft deep and a
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: BMW being lowered into it. But before we buried him,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: we drilled around because I did not want to bury
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: him with a tankful of guys, so I made sure
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: we drove all the guys out of the car. So
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: the people were waving at my father and there was
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: the passenger on the other side, Yes, on the other side,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: and we will go all to the village. The village
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: people go, hey, yeah, you're doing and they had a song.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: They had a native song. Yeah you are the one
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: with devotees swagon were so sad that you're going you
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: are the one with devotees swagon. We are so sad
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: that you're going be um. But YouTube, we will never
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: see one like that before. So we put father in
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: the right side. We prop him up, make sure the
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: built is on because you don't want nothing to happen
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: to him. Made sure he had the daughter because he
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: couldn't fly through the window. Oh my boy, here man,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: you didn't want that happen. But is that a trend though,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I'm hearing on social media. If you have your money,
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: if you have your money. But a lot of people
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: have done that, you know, Bible in Chicago did that
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: one time. Yeah, one time back in the day. Yeah again, yeah, yeah,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: Callac sitting up and it was a dude in Detroit. Yeah,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: they got buried in the casket, but they made the
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: casket look like a car. Yeah yeah, yeah, Wow a grill.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: I thinking of how I want mine set up. When
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: you walk by me. You here ways that now, whenever
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: you walk at your funeral, I'm going to rue last joke.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna have you in a closed casket. And then
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: when I get up the talk, when I give them
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: the signal, they're gonna open it. But you're gonna be
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: laying in the ashok what I did? All right? Thanks guys,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: I think, uh yeah, man, I'm a bury. You with
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: blue vibe repeals all over your stump. All right, listen,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: we'll be back. Close the casket. We'll be back with
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: more of this ignorance on this Seam Harvey Morning Show
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: right after this that's not his own. You're listening to
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, you're in Georgia
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: for your annual mentoring camp, and in case you missed
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: it yesterday, we play some of the mentees testimonials. Take
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: a listen. The importance of the mentors that are here.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: They're helping a hundred of us just understand what it
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: takes to be men in the world. Experience here has
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: been life changing, being in this camp and learning what
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: it means to me man, being taught how to keep
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: our heads up, our chest up, speaking with confidence. The
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: mental share their stories of what they've been through and
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: how they accomplished their goals and how they overcame their
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: fear and like their loss. A lot of people don't
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: want to bother with kids who don't have fathers or
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: a low income, and it teaches me that there are
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: good people out there who care about others and are
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: willing to sacrifice cirtain times to see them succeed in life.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: It's been very helpful to see people that have been
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: in our shoes in the past and that are successful,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: that are helping other people, and that are overall just great. Man.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I've learned that in order to be a man, it's
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: not what clothes you have on you know, how you look,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: or how people you know see you. It's how you
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: feel inside, how you care yourself, how you cherished education,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: how your chairs being successful in life. Wow, so articulate. Yeah,
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: you can learn a lot. You're definitely changing. That's great.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: That's really good. So Steve, tell us about your your
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: your mission to provide outreach to these fatherless young men.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: It's really rewarding. I know a lot of programs focused
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: on education, and that's a beautiful thing. I'm I may
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: get into some educational things also, but I'm finding more
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: and more and more that one of the major problems
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: with so many young men and our decimated communities is
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: just don't understand what manhood really is, and they're approaching
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: it the wrong way. I also understand that they oftentimes
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: become victims of their environment and surroundings instead of exploring
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: the outside possibilities. The dream is a very very powerful thing.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: The Bible says, a man without a dream or visions
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: your parish. If some of these neighborhoods, these kids don't
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: have the right dreams and visions, they keep dreaming and
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: visioning stuff that's right in front of front of them.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: And sometimes that ain't good. Not some great people in
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: the hood, it really really is. But we've got to
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: be that and leave a mental picture of what manhood
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: is and give them let them have some mental pictures
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: and clarity on dreaming, and but not only dreaming. I
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: teach them the principles of how to attain the dreams.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: It's amazing because the schools never asked children often times enough,
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: what could you do? What would you do if you
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: knew you couldn't fail? What would you in your wildest dreams?
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: What are you now? They focus on education, and that's
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: a great thing, because you have to be educated to succeed.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: I understand that, but we also have to keep the
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: dream envision in front of these young boys. It changes
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: their lives greatly, and you're doing a great job and
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: we applaud you every year, Steve, because you're down there
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: working hard as are you know the men that are
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: involved down there. So thank you guys so much, and
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: thank you all the volunteers, all my boodies that Alex English,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Steve Perry, Chef, Jael Boomerang, JT comes and cuts the
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: kid's head, talks about getting into barber College. All these
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: companies that come down here. Google is down here this
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: year with the big program, the Rock Ran. The people
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: from Chick fil Late are making great contributions to this program.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Just a lot of companies man who uh, well, I
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: can't say a lot of companies, but the companies that
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: do help us, we really really appreciate it. But the
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: biggest thanks goes to my boys that come down here
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: and help me meet a lot of the mentees that
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: come here, soldiers and stuff like that, but especially to
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Omega sap Fire Fraternity Incorporated outstanding and to the mothers
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: who realized that they need something they bring them. We'll
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Alright,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Target is in the hot seat now, guys, apologizing UH
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: too offended customers after shoppers began slamming Target for offering
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: baby daddy greeting cards ahead of Father's Day UH this
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: weekend and after one Twitter user, Yeah what after one
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: Twitter user, UH call them um an insult to black father.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: There's an a slap in the face to the African
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: American community as a whole. UM, as a whole. We
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: want all guests to feel welcomed and respected when they
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: shop at Target. This is according to Joshua Thomas, a
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: spokesperson for Target. He shared the statement on Fox News.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: He said, we were made aware of some concerns about
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: this card last week and are working with our vendor
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: to UH have it removed from Target stores. One commenter
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: pointed out that the inside of the card used the
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: words husband and father and included a happy Father's Day,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: and baby daddy is not a term of endearment. So
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: what do you think about the baby daddy baby daddy
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: greeting card? Steve And guys, I mean doesn't have black
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: people on the face of it. Yes, I was, what
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: do you mean? I mean? Well, see if you know
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: what it's like this. There are a lot of women
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: who referred to the father. That's my baby's daddy. That
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: may not be the husband, they may not even be
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: in a relationship with them. This is the child of
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: my father and that little humorous terms, that's my baby daddy.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: You know you're saying, it's a fact that that is.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't rate target over the colds for this. It's
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: what I'm saying, because you know, if if people find
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: the defensive, then just go ahead and take the card
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: off the shelves. And they said they do that. That's it.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: But you know, the heads of targets don't read every
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: card that come through the door. You don't know. You
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: got buyers in every division of all these big stories.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: You got the greeting card buyer, you got to you know,
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: food buyer, you got the poetry, you can you know fish,
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: you got to produce section. You know these buyers, man,
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: you never know, they could have just slid one in
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: on them. You know, the makers of the card, Hey,
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: we've got these great cards that I don't know that
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: they read every single card that goes through. They ordered
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: their fathers, they called from Hallmark or whoever. I think
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: this one could have got in there. I don't I
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: don't find it to be that good thing. They didn't
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: have a card. I was called O d B. What
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: that one? Do you guys remember some years ago and
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Fantasia put that song a lot of for that. Well
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: you didn't have but he ain't my daddy, but he yeah, yeah,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: that one. It's American greeting card. By the way, it's
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: an American greeting card. All right, we'll go to all
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: social media at Steve Harvey f M if you want
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: to comment on the baby Daddy greeting card. Okay, alright,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: coming up, it's Steve Harvey and his closing remarks. You
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: don't want to miss it at forty nine after the hour.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Alright, Steve, here
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: we are last break of the day on this Father's
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Day weekend, and happy Father's Day to all the fathers
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: out there. Send us home. Stayed with some closing remarks. Yeah,
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: First of all, I want to say thank you. My
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: closing remarks are to say thank you, Thank you to
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: the men out there who take the time out who
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: are on the ground floor of changing boys lives. Uh,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: people like me. We get all the credits simply because
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: we're famous and We've got some money that we can give.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: But the people who do the real work, the people
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: who really do the real work are the soldiers, the
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: foot soldiers. That's only ground guys like Frank Hollom, who
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: was our guest this morning, are the cuesed, the cap us,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: the alpha's, the sigmas that owders out there that is
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: trying to change young men's lives. Man, I would love
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: to get with the entire Panhan panhandling a council of
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: black Greek fraternities and see if we can make a
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: united effort, man, because these are college guys, man, guys
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: that are doing something with their lives through their eternities
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: and organizations. And man, if we mentor boys, if we
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: made that a national claim for all of our fraternities, Man,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: we could turn this thing around in these neighborhoods. Man,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: we don't need governmental help. The government is not coming.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: They are not coming. They're not gonna create a government
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: programs for our community because flat out they just don't
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: care and they can't get their votes past. Certain groups
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: of people called certain groups of people don't believe in handouts.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: They call them handouts. They won't look at it as
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: a hand up. They just want to call it a handout.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: That's not what it is. Man. You know, people killed
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: me Like I was doing an interview with Dr Being
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: cast at one time on a serious station, and they
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: asked me if they were he was talking one time
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: about in America, we need to pull ourselves up by
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: the bootstraps. And even though I really do like this guy,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: I think he's an incredible human being. Man, I had
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: I stopped and I said, well, look, it's easy to
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: say pull yourself up by the bootstraps, but what if
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: you ain't got no boots. We're talking about a lot
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: of people who don't get boots. See America. You would
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: think in America that everybody will be born with a
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: pair of boots, regardless as you come. It's white people
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: that don't have boots. Man, it's Latinos that don't have boots.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: It's black people that don't have boots. These impoverished, these
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: impoplished neighborhoods don't provide the opportunities that some other neighborhoods provide.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: So yeah, it's easy to say pull yourself up by
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: the bootstrapt, but if you ain't got no damn boots,
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: what you want these boys to do. And then they're
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: not gonna give them no boots because they want to
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: keep calling it a hand out as opposed to a
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: hand up. We don't believe in subsidized programming. They're killing
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: food in in the city schools. We gotta we gotta
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: hunger problem in this country. Why does America have a
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: hunger problem? Why we're hungry? In America, the greatest country
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: in the world. Why we got people that's hungry. Why
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: is not everybody entitled to the same education as everybody else.
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: If you go to China, everybody gets the same education.
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: They're doing the same thing. They go to school for free.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: If you want to go, it's free. Now we charge
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: for everything, and then we award these different communities moneys
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: according to the tax bracket they end. Oh so when
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: the money comes down from the federal government and goes
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: to the state level, you mean to tell me that
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: the state then goes Well, let's look around our state
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: and who see who pays the most taxets, who paid
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: the most taxes, and that's who will get the most funds.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: Oh really, so, now there's another way where we can't
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: get no new books, no computers, no school upgrades, no
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: after school programs, and no quality teachers. And we got
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: some great teachers in the hood, So I'm not saying
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: we don't ever get quality teachers, but we can't attract
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: no of them because we can't pay them. And now
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: we can't fix our schools up because the money they
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: give us, we're trying to get some more books. What
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: so we can't get all the computers, so we ain't
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: fixed what's happening in school? How you can't repair school? Man? Hi,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: kid can't come in this great country called America and
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: get an education without somebody going when everybody else got
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: the agause, just stay in school. It's easy to say,
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: have you ever been to an impublished school before? Have
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: you seen the number of deaths? Have you seen the
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: outdated materials that these kids are forced to live with?
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: Oh they got books, but they're not curried, so now
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: they're struggling passing the A C T and the S
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: A T. Hey man, we got to do this ourselves
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: because we got to quick thinking that the government gonna
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: ride in on the white horse. The white horse ain't coming.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: It ain't ever came for us. The white horse and
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: the cavalry don't come over the hill and poll neighborhoods. Oh,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: the cavalry rides over the hills and the suburbs, but
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: it don't come to rule areas. They just don't. They
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: don't come to rule areas. They don't come to uh
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: impoverished communities. They don't come to get olds. They don't
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: come to the hood. The caw really never comes there. Now.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: The only former Calgary they want to send us is
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: a police department that don't understand the people that they're
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: trying the police. And we get further and further and
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: further behind. But we can do something about this. We
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: can make a difference. We could do something about this
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: if we each brother took the time and grabbed one
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: boy two and just give them your number. I ain't
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: saying you gotta take no money out your family to
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: mentor these boys. These boys needs time, they need conversation,
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: they need guidance. They need to hear a man's voice
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: tell them they love them, that they're proud of them,
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: that they'll come watch him at the game every now
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: and then. That can change your boys lives. That's what
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: we're doing. And I want to thank all of me
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: And that's helping me get it to herd this week.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you, thank you all right, Steve, and
