- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You are listening to the varts, Come on, dig me
- 2:07Speaker 2: now one and only. Uh huh. Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 2: radio show.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Here you do.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Steve Harvey got a radio show. But like I said
- 2:14Speaker 2: the other day, you got something too, though, don't you.
- 2:16Speaker 2: God done done something wonderful for you. You just got
- 2:19Speaker 2: to thank Him for it, you know, in the midst
- 2:22Speaker 2: of all that's going on in my life and in
- 2:24Speaker 2: your life. You know, I always use myself as an
- 2:28Speaker 2: example because well, I mean that way. I guarantee one
- 2:32Speaker 2: hundred percent I know what I'm talking about here. Here's
- 2:35Speaker 2: the situation, you know, with everything that's going on in
- 2:39Speaker 2: my life and all the things I'm asking God for
- 2:43Speaker 2: in the midst of taxing and a very trying situation
- 2:49Speaker 2: that's very challenging for me right now. Man, God just
- 2:53Speaker 2: keeps on, keeps on surprising me. He keeps doing things,
- 2:58Speaker 2: And I want you to look at your life. Or
- 3:01Speaker 2: for a second, let's make two columns here. Let's make
- 3:06Speaker 2: a column of all the things you want from God.
- 3:09Speaker 2: You know, just do that throughout the course of the day.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You know, you know, run down the list of all
- 3:14Speaker 2: the things you're asking God for, all the things you're
- 3:17Speaker 2: praying for, the things you aspire to, what your dreams,
- 3:21Speaker 2: your visions.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Whatever it is.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Just make a column a list of all those things.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Let's make three lists. And then the second list, I
- 3:29Speaker 2: want you to make a list of everything that you've
- 3:35Speaker 2: been asking God for, so I guess that could be
- 3:38Speaker 2: a little bit of the same. But this third list,
- 3:40Speaker 2: I want you to do a check off point. I
- 3:42Speaker 2: want you to do a make a list of everything
- 3:46Speaker 2: that God has given you that you've asked him for.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Just think about it like that for a second. I
- 3:52Speaker 2: may be explaining a little wrong right now, but I'm
- 3:54Speaker 2: gonna pull it together for you. Make a list of
- 3:58Speaker 2: everything you're asking God for.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Just just listed, you know.
- 4:01Speaker 2: It's okay, it's a dream board. You can call it that.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I got one. It's a vision board. You know everybody's
- 4:06Speaker 2: got something you hope for. Make a list.
- 4:09Speaker 7: Now.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I want you to make another list of everything you've
- 4:14Speaker 2: asked God for that he's given you already. See this
- 4:19Speaker 2: is a good list because sometimes and what I've been
- 4:22Speaker 2: guilty of, and maybe you two in my request list
- 4:27Speaker 2: on my dream board. I keep focusing so hard sometimes
- 4:32Speaker 2: on the what I'm yet to receive. I keep focusing
- 4:36Speaker 2: so hard on the what I hope he gives me.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I keep focusing so hard on the things that I
- 4:43Speaker 2: yet not fulfilled in my life that sometimes, as he
- 4:48Speaker 2: starts checking off my wish lists, the things I've asked
- 4:52Speaker 2: for in the past that have come to pass that
- 4:54Speaker 2: he's given me, I sometimes, in praying for what I
- 4:59Speaker 2: want forget to thank him for what he's done for me.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And I'm currently in the middle of that situation. And
- 5:06Speaker 2: this morning when I woke up, I really, man, I
- 5:09Speaker 2: just got on my knees this morning and I quit
- 5:11Speaker 2: tripping for a second. I said, Man, hey, God, you
- 5:13Speaker 2: know what I really do need all them things I'm
- 5:17Speaker 2: asking for, and I'm really am believing that You're gonna
- 5:20Speaker 2: give it to me. But in the meantime, though, man,
- 5:23Speaker 2: have I overlooked some important details here. I had to
- 5:28Speaker 2: really look at what he's done for me. I mean, look, man,
- 5:31Speaker 2: take yourself out of it personally and look. Or you
- 5:34Speaker 2: can leave yourself in it however you want to be.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Some people can't do that, so just leave yourself in it. Then,
- 5:39Speaker 2: But man, I started looking at the eye part of me,
- 5:42Speaker 2: and I started looking around at what's happening overall. Like, man,
- 5:47Speaker 2: he has kept my family together and in spite of
- 5:50Speaker 2: the attempts to tear it apart. I look at all
- 5:52Speaker 2: of that. I look at how he's blessing my children
- 5:56Speaker 2: with the desires of their heart, which I pray for
- 5:58Speaker 2: my kids. You know, I want my kids to have
- 6:00Speaker 2: a better life than I've had. I really really do.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't want them to take as long as it
- 6:05Speaker 2: took me to get it together. I really really don't.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm trying to say, hey, man, if you go to college,
- 6:10Speaker 2: this is what you can be. Don't do like your
- 6:12Speaker 2: father did. Don't go three years drop I'll throw yourself
- 6:15Speaker 2: into a spiral. And then got to start to scratch
- 6:17Speaker 2: all over again, you know, And for the most part
- 6:20Speaker 2: so far, you know, they're doing quite well of it.
- 6:24Speaker 2: You know, you know, they're getting kicked around a little bit,
- 6:26Speaker 2: but that's life. I started thinking of the blessings that
- 6:30Speaker 2: he's helped me overcome with some of the previous mistakes
- 6:34Speaker 2: I've made in relationships in my life. And then I
- 6:38Speaker 2: started looking about the things he's blessed me with that
- 6:41Speaker 2: I've been asking him for. But since I've moved on
- 6:43Speaker 2: from it, I forgot to keep thinking because I got
- 6:47Speaker 2: to always thank God for a roof over my head
- 6:49Speaker 2: because guess what, when I was asking for the roof
- 6:52Speaker 2: and I didn't really have it, then he gave me one. Now,
- 6:54Speaker 2: since he gave it to me, what, I'm just cool
- 6:56Speaker 2: Now I can't ever go back to him and go, hey, man,
- 7:00Speaker 2: really do appreciate this roof over my head because there
- 7:02Speaker 2: was a time when I was living in a car.
- 7:04Speaker 2: But see, so every morning I wake up, I gotta
- 7:07Speaker 2: remember the fact that I have a home now, because
- 7:10Speaker 2: I got to look back and go, Man, that was time, Steve,
- 7:12Speaker 2: when you didn't.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Have no home.
- 7:14Speaker 2: But see, we forget what God has done for us
- 7:17Speaker 2: because in our column, the won't column, the need column,
- 7:22Speaker 2: we oftentimes forget for the columns and the check marks
- 7:26Speaker 2: that He's already fulfilled in our life. You've got to
- 7:30Speaker 2: take inventory every now and then daily if possible. But
- 7:35Speaker 2: I know we humans, we're not gonna do that. I don't.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But you've got to take inventory of your life to say, hey,
- 7:43Speaker 2: what has God done for me?
- 7:45Speaker 8: You know?
- 7:46Speaker 2: And remember something else too. Change is good, but change
- 7:51Speaker 2: is challenging. Accept the challenge that it is. Look a
- 7:55Speaker 2: lot of you come up to me all the time
- 7:58Speaker 2: and say, Steve Man, thank you and boy you in
- 8:01Speaker 2: the morning. Man, I really be needing that well, like
- 8:04Speaker 2: honest said it a hundred times, but I'm gonna say
- 8:05Speaker 2: it again, y'all. I be needing it too. You know,
- 8:09Speaker 2: you understand sometimes what God is dealing with me.
- 8:13Speaker 6: Is for me.
- 8:15Speaker 2: But now I'm in a sharing position where I can
- 8:18Speaker 2: open up and if I just if I just quit
- 8:21Speaker 2: being so about me and become a little bit more transparent,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I can maybe some of me that's happening to me
- 8:27Speaker 2: is happening to you, and you can see some of
- 8:29Speaker 2: this in me. That's why I use myself as an example,
- 8:32Speaker 2: because man, I'm catching it too, y'all. I ain't perfect either.
- 8:37Speaker 2: So for those of you that come up to me
- 8:39Speaker 2: and say that I want you to understand these these
- 8:42Speaker 2: talks in the morning. Man, this is important for me
- 8:45Speaker 2: because man, I need these conversations from God. I need
- 8:49Speaker 2: God to continue to strengthen me, to show me the way,
- 8:53Speaker 2: to help me understand what's happening to me. And see,
- 8:57Speaker 2: as we've all those of you who have made the
- 8:59Speaker 2: decision to change, to become a better person, a better woman,
- 9:03Speaker 2: a better boy, better girl, a better man. For those
- 9:05Speaker 2: of you who's made the decision to change, change is
- 9:08Speaker 2: a challenge, and accept the challenge because it's gonna come.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Because right out of that here come to haters. Here
- 9:14Speaker 2: they come people you don't even know, discussing your life
- 9:17Speaker 2: and your change. If God see you really really mean
- 9:21Speaker 2: what you say in spite of what they say about you,
- 9:25Speaker 2: God will raise you above the freight. He'll keep promoting you.
- 9:29Speaker 2: He'll keep blessing you. He'll keep moving you up. He
- 9:33Speaker 2: will use you as a show off point. He'll show
- 9:36Speaker 2: you off, man, He'll he'll make you look good the
- 9:40Speaker 2: people man, who wish you'd fall all day long. And
- 9:43Speaker 2: so to all your haters, all your haters will end
- 9:46Speaker 2: up just watching you rise. Man, They will watch you
- 9:48Speaker 2: continue to grow. That's what God will do for you. Man,
- 9:52Speaker 2: you can fool the world, but you can't fool God.
- 9:54Speaker 2: God know your heart, He know your every thought.
- 9:57Speaker 9: Man, you're listening to the seed Harvey. Morning shall.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, Today is today that the Lord has made.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Let us rejoice and be glad in it. That pretty
- 10:15Speaker 2: much sums it up. But in case you don't understand
- 10:17Speaker 2: what that's saying is you know when it says that,
- 10:21Speaker 2: that's you know how factual that is. Today is today
- 10:24Speaker 2: that the Lord has made. Can anybody else claim that?
- 10:26Speaker 6: Nope?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Ever seen anybody body say that. Can't nobody produce it?
- 10:32Speaker 2: This is all God produced. Man, He does it now
- 10:36Speaker 2: our job. All he say to us is rejoice, be
- 10:39Speaker 2: glad in it. Be grateful that you hear you made
- 10:42Speaker 2: another one. You might be missing somebody.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I know I am.
- 10:46Speaker 2: You probably are too, But man, ain't you glad you
- 10:50Speaker 2: still here? Let's take advantage of it. Let's do something
- 10:53Speaker 2: great today. Let's ay y'all make some space in your
- 10:57Speaker 2: life for God. Spend a little bit of time with
- 11:00Speaker 2: him today. It don't take a lot. You owe him
- 11:04Speaker 2: a lot, but it don't take much. Just spend some
- 11:07Speaker 2: time with him to day it'll give you a a
- 11:09Speaker 2: a A an abiding piece in yourself that you didn't
- 11:13Speaker 2: even know could exist. It's it's an uncommon piece, Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 2: it is. We get into that, lady though, this deceive
- 11:19Speaker 2: Harvey Morning Show, Shirley Strawberry calling for real Mississippi Monic

- 11:46Speaker 1: Excuse why does he talk every time.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Show?

- 12:13Speaker 9: But but back to my question, though, you don't mind
- 12:16Speaker 9: if we take off? What is your problem with Junior?
- 12:20Speaker 2: That's what I want to know, because he ain't told
- 12:24Speaker 2: nobody he was going to take.

- 14:45Speaker 10: Alay.
- 14:46Speaker 3: This right here is called church fees. Church fees. All right,
- 14:50Speaker 3: we got some church fees. We're going down there to
- 14:52Speaker 3: the church. We're pranking people at the church and let's
- 14:54Speaker 3: go church fees.
- 14:55Speaker 8: Cat dog, if you would hello, Hello, I'm trying to
- 14:59Speaker 8: reach the chase.
- 15:00Speaker 13: Hey you got her?
- 15:00Speaker 8: Hey, how you doing this? Is? Uh? This is brother
- 15:03Speaker 8: Glenn from the church.
- 15:04Speaker 14: Hey, brother Glenn, how you doing.
- 15:05Speaker 8: I'm good, I'm good, I'm real good. Did you enjoy
- 15:08Speaker 8: service boring?
- 15:09Speaker 14: Oh, I enjoyed it past the pasta brought it down?
- 15:15Speaker 8: Yes, Oh my god. That was a word for me,
- 15:19Speaker 8: right right, right right?
- 15:20Speaker 14: So what do I owe the pleasure of this call?
- 15:23Speaker 8: I wanted to give you some information that the that
- 15:26Speaker 8: the church has come up with, and we wanted to
- 15:29Speaker 8: let you know what was going on before next Sunday.
- 15:32Speaker 8: I didn't interrupt you, no.
- 15:33Speaker 14: No, I actually I may sound a little a little
- 15:36Speaker 14: off a little bit. I'm trying to get get it
- 15:38Speaker 14: ready for my little babies, my little darlings, and I'm
- 15:40Speaker 14: trying to your voice sounds so familiar to me. It
- 15:44Speaker 14: just sounds so familiar. Trying to place place that voice.
- 15:46Speaker 8: Okay, well, you've seen me at the church quite a
- 15:48Speaker 8: few times.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I think I have.
- 15:49Speaker 14: I'm just trying to place it. I can't place it
- 15:51Speaker 14: right now.
- 15:52Speaker 8: But what Nevertheless, I just wanted here's here's what's going on. Uh. Now,
- 15:56Speaker 8: you're aware that for the last the last six Sundays
- 15:59Speaker 8: you've been at actually coming into service late. Have you
- 16:02Speaker 8: realized that?
- 16:03Speaker 14: Yes, I know, I'm sorry about that, but you know, yes,
- 16:08Speaker 14: I have I have my reason.
- 16:09Speaker 8: So okay, okay, Well here's what's going on. The officials
- 16:12Speaker 8: at the church have gotten together and this is what
- 16:15Speaker 8: they've decided on, is that anybody who is late starting
- 16:19Speaker 8: next Sunday, there would be a fifteen dollar charge for
- 16:22Speaker 8: that for coming in and disrupting service. The fastest tired
- 16:27Speaker 8: of service being disrupted by people walking in late.
- 16:30Speaker 14: That could not come at a worse time. I don't
- 16:34Speaker 14: have fifteen dollars to give. I don't have it. Oh look,
- 16:42Speaker 14: I'm sorry, I'm sorry that we're late. I am We
- 16:46Speaker 14: are doing our best. I have three kids. I have
- 16:49Speaker 14: three young kids, two seven and nine, and they are
- 16:53Speaker 14: a handful and we do the best that we can
- 16:57Speaker 14: to get the church on time and to tell your book,
- 17:00Speaker 14: when we get there, it's doing praise in worship, I
- 17:03Speaker 14: mean pass. They ain't even preaching yet.
- 17:05Speaker 8: Sorry, I know it's not pass is not up yet,
- 17:07Speaker 8: but he's stating that people coming in. It just seems
- 17:11Speaker 8: very disrupted to the service that's going on. That's so Nevertheless,
- 17:14Speaker 8: like I said, this is a warning call, you know,
- 17:16Speaker 8: to let you know that if you are late on
- 17:18Speaker 8: next Sunday, then they will be charging you fifteen dollars
- 17:23Speaker 8: are late charge. And actually you won't be able to
- 17:25Speaker 8: even come in what until you until you plaid fifteen dollars.
- 17:29Speaker 14: I can't even get in church with Okay, look I
- 17:32Speaker 14: don't I don't owe nothing. I don't owe you no explanation.
- 17:35Speaker 14: But I need to tell you something. We are me
- 17:38Speaker 14: and my kids for the last few Sundays that we've
- 17:42Speaker 14: been late. It's because my car broke down. We are
- 17:45Speaker 14: on the bus man public transportation.
- 17:48Speaker 8: Okay, I mean, and I understand, I understand. I sund
- 17:50Speaker 8: civilitized with everything that you're going through.
- 17:52Speaker 14: But why are you called if you understand? Why are
- 17:54Speaker 14: you calling me about fifteen dollars? If you understand what
- 17:56Speaker 14: I'm going through?
- 17:57Speaker 8: Well I didn't at first of all, I didn't know
- 17:58Speaker 8: what you were going Why are you rasing yourvo Why
- 18:01Speaker 8: are you raising? Did you just raise your voice at me?
- 18:03Speaker 8: You know what? You know what?
- 18:05Speaker 14: I think? You're raising your voice at you? How dare
- 18:07Speaker 14: you call me about this? About a feat And I'm
- 18:11Speaker 14: there at church. I got my keys there, trying to
- 18:14Speaker 14: raise them up is the way they should go, just
- 18:16Speaker 14: like the Bible say. And you know why I gotta
- 18:19Speaker 14: do this and why I'm lated why we got to
- 18:21Speaker 14: catch the bus. Do you understand why that is, brother Gleed, No,
- 18:25Speaker 14: I do not. That is because they.

- 18:34Speaker 9: Me, Jesus.
- 18:34Speaker 8: Okay, listen, here's the deal. All I can do is
- 18:37Speaker 8: tell you this. I hope you can make it. Maybe
- 18:39Speaker 8: you can catch an earlier bus, you know what I mean,
- 18:42Speaker 8: and get that a little earlier. But but I'm just
- 18:45Speaker 8: stating the facts that as of next Sunday, if you
- 18:47Speaker 8: come in late, it's fifteen dollars late fee, and that's
- 18:50Speaker 8: what you'll pay in order to get in the service.
- 18:52Speaker 14: You know what, Well, maybe next Sunday I just won't

- 19:09Speaker 14: to pull me here and there, and I'm always tired.
- 19:11Speaker 14: I get two hours of sleep, and then now the
- 19:13Speaker 14: church wants to dump another fifteen dollars charging me for
- 19:16Speaker 14: being at church when that's what I'm supposed to do.
- 19:19Speaker 8: But you're coming in late, though, Tracy, you know what.
- 19:23Speaker 14: You know what late ain't bad. Okay, I might be delayed,
- 19:27Speaker 14: but I ain't denied, and I'm getting there the best
- 19:29Speaker 14: way that I know how. For oh, the bus, I
- 19:32Speaker 14: have to put my kids on the school bus, and
- 19:34Speaker 14: long that I have to get them on the school bus.
- 19:35Speaker 14: Then I have to get on the bus to myself
- 19:37Speaker 14: to work because I don't have a car. Because they
- 19:39Speaker 14: Daddy ain't doing nothing nothing for them. Do you understand
- 19:43Speaker 14: what I'm saying to you? I need to under that.

- 20:04Speaker 14: You don't even understand what I'm going through. You don't
- 20:06Speaker 14: even understand that I'm trying to make a better life
- 20:08Speaker 14: for me and my children.
- 20:09Speaker 8: There is one more thing, sister Tracy, that the church
- 20:11Speaker 8: wants you to know before next Sunday that you definitely
- 20:14Speaker 8: need to.
- 20:14Speaker 14: Know what One more thing does the church want me

- 22:20Speaker 9: news Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chief star Travis Kelcey
- 22:24Speaker 9: are finally engaged after two years. And in trending headline news,
- 22:29Speaker 9: the NAACP is suing the state of Texas we'll talk
- 22:33Speaker 9: about all of these stories. Yeah, at the time of
- 22:36Speaker 9: the hour. But right now it is time to ask
- 22:39Speaker 9: the clo. All right, clo, here we go. This is
- 22:44Speaker 9: from Yolanda and Saginaw. Yolanda writes, I cursed a woman
- 22:48Speaker 9: out at the grocery store for cutting me in line.
- 22:51Speaker 9: She apologized and said she just moved into the area
- 22:55Speaker 9: and didn't do it intentionally. Why is she my next
- 22:58Speaker 9: door neighbor? Why should I try.
- 23:05Speaker 1: To be friendly with her?
- 23:06Speaker 8: Now?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you should, because I mean, you know, you jump
- 23:09Speaker 2: the gun. Somebody cuts in front of you at the line,
- 23:13Speaker 2: you know, you cuss them out. The lady apologized, could
- 23:16Speaker 2: have had a lot on her mind. Wasn't paying attention.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Is it really that important?
- 23:22Speaker 4: Really?
- 23:23Speaker 2: And I don't think it is. Now she your neighbor,
- 23:26Speaker 2: and I think what you should do is not this
- 23:29Speaker 2: is where you were, just where you need to lie. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 2: listen to me, Hey, listen, I was having a horrible
- 23:36Speaker 2: date day and I just I wasn't myself and I
- 23:41Speaker 2: won't apologize to you and welcome you to the neighborhood.
- 23:44Speaker 2: And I'm sorry. I didn't want us to get off
- 23:46Speaker 2: to a bad start. You see, you're probably a wonderful person,
- 23:49Speaker 2: and I'm not normally like that, So please forgive me
- 23:52Speaker 2: that that wouldn't hurt at all, that that's something I
- 23:55Speaker 2: like it. Yeah, I mean, why create an enemy when
- 24:02Speaker 2: you can live.
- 24:02Speaker 9: In peace your next door neighbor? No, well, you know
- 24:07Speaker 9: want that all right? Moving on to Jaretha and Memphis,
- 24:12Speaker 9: Jaretha writes, my husband and I were at a house party.
- 24:15Speaker 9: I was ready to go, but he wasn't, so he
- 24:18Speaker 9: said I could go home and he would get a ride.
- 24:21Speaker 9: The next day, he told me that I'm too antisocial
- 24:24Speaker 9: for him? What was wrong with me leaving that boring party?
- 24:29Speaker 2: Hey, no, it wasn't none wrong with you leaving it.
- 24:31Speaker 2: He's got to call you anti social because he wanted
- 24:34Speaker 2: to stay. I don't even know why. He should have
- 24:37Speaker 2: just said, hey, you could take the car come later,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and then he didn't even have to bring it up.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because he really didn't mind you leave it at all.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Now you go ahead, I'm want to stay here at
- 24:52Speaker 2: this house party jumping something in his head was right
- 24:59Speaker 2: after how party, and you got being now was gonna
- 25:04Speaker 2: straighten it right on out?
- 25:07Speaker 4: Oh man?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Yeah, then coming in and putting you on the defense.
- 25:11Speaker 2: You too anti social. What was wrong with me leaving
- 25:14Speaker 2: that boiling party? Nothing?
- 25:16Speaker 7: Nothing?
- 25:17Speaker 9: So would you have left with your wife if she.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Wanted to go?
- 25:21Speaker 6: I can't.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I can't.
- 25:21Speaker 9: I can't send my wife home, right, that's my husband exactly.
- 25:26Speaker 2: That that's not how because if something happened and I'm
- 25:30Speaker 2: not there, I'm not sending my wife out at night
- 25:33Speaker 2: to my go ahead, I'll get a ride. I'm not
- 25:36Speaker 2: finna do that. Send my wife home, I'm not dang.
- 25:40Speaker 1: My husband would have been like I've been ready, I
- 25:42Speaker 1: ain't want.
- 25:42Speaker 9: To go, exactly. I was waiting on you. Her name
- 25:48Speaker 9: is Daretha. So are they older or you think they're older?
- 25:52Speaker 8: Right?
- 25:53Speaker 6: Yeah? Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 2: And who the hell go to house party? I mean
- 25:58Speaker 2: people go, old people. Young people had rent out aired
- 26:07Speaker 2: Bee's and throw parties. I'm not throwing no house party.
- 26:09Speaker 6: No more.
- 26:10Speaker 9: Okay, all right? So he should have left with his wife,
- 26:13Speaker 9: all right, and not chastise her when he got home.
- 26:16Speaker 9: All right. Moving on to Akbar in Naples, Achbar rights.
- 26:20Speaker 9: I've been saving money to upgrade my wife's diamond. Our
- 26:24Speaker 9: oldest daughter fell and chipped her too, and she asked
- 26:27Speaker 9: me to borrow a lot of money to get it fixed.
- 26:30Speaker 9: If I do that, then the ring will have to wait.
- 26:33Speaker 9: What's more important, the ring or the too?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Well, when your wife is talking to your little chip
- 26:40Speaker 2: two daughter explaining huw you know how you might still
- 26:43Speaker 2: be able to get a man with your mouth looking
- 26:45Speaker 2: all raggedy and everything, cause you tell that wool machine
- 26:48Speaker 2: and getting that ring. That baby didn't have a ragged knout.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Now my question is how old is you? The oldest
- 26:56Speaker 2: daughter is probably how old you think it?
- 26:59Speaker 9: His name is for.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Maybe, so now he give her the money, get her
- 27:05Speaker 2: to fix.
- 27:08Speaker 9: A lot.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I'm just say this right here. I don't really know
- 27:11Speaker 2: much about innistry.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Work is expensive, no instrument.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know what it costs. I'll tell
- 27:16Speaker 2: you right now. You have got to get your mouth fixed.
- 27:21Speaker 2: You got to do that. Yeah, okay, you can explain
- 27:27Speaker 2: that little cut on your arm and all that hen
- 27:30Speaker 2: and how you got the back of your legs when
- 27:32Speaker 2: you as a baby, it's sitting have been there with
- 27:35Speaker 2: that hole in the middle of your head that ain't
- 27:38Speaker 2: put that chip on it.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Into your hand.
- 27:41Speaker 2: If you're gonna cut your tongue on it, you can
- 27:46Speaker 2: start a math. Get your tongue in that space. You
- 27:49Speaker 2: could do that that.
- 27:54Speaker 8: It.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you could just put your tongue over that chip
- 27:58Speaker 2: every time you smile. Yeah, yeah, but you got to
- 28:01Speaker 2: get your tooth fixed.
- 28:02Speaker 9: But he's torn though. He wants to know which one,
- 28:05Speaker 9: the tooth or the ring.
- 28:07Speaker 1: CLO said the tooth.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I'll tell you what going there and ask your wife
- 28:13Speaker 2: should we do? I'm trying to save upgrade this ring,
- 28:17Speaker 2: but our daughter need a new tooth.
- 28:19Speaker 8: What what?
- 28:19Speaker 2: How you want to handle this baby?
- 28:22Speaker 6: Then you have no business falling right?
- 28:24Speaker 1: She didn't look what she don't want you where she
- 28:30Speaker 1: was going?
- 28:31Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 28:33Speaker 1: Do you need my ring? Size?
- 28:35Speaker 8: Baby?
- 28:35Speaker 9: Goudahead?
- 28:36Speaker 4: It's bling up.
- 28:38Speaker 2: She needs to get to saving up. Yeah, yeah, all.
- 28:42Speaker 9: Right, last one, last one, CLO. This is from Wan
- 28:46Speaker 9: in Denton. Wan writes, I was having a water balloon
- 28:50Speaker 9: fight with my seven year old son, and my wife
- 28:54Speaker 9: ran outside and said, I can't hit her baby that
- 28:57Speaker 9: hard with the balloon. As long as is I'm not
- 29:00Speaker 9: aiming for his head, it's all good, Right? How do
- 29:04Speaker 9: I get my wife to stop babying our son?
- 29:08Speaker 2: I busted is there in that head with that water balloon?
- 29:12Speaker 2: My boy before I've been knocked them out before. That's
- 29:16Speaker 2: the tar yet Yeah, I'm trying to hit you in
- 29:19Speaker 2: your head with this water balloon. Yeah, so you know,
- 29:25Speaker 2: stop but ladies, ladies, ladies, stop stop babying these boys.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Stop doing that. Stop.
- 29:33Speaker 9: So what should she have done? I mean, she's worried
- 29:36Speaker 9: about her little boy. He's only seven. It's water, but
- 29:42Speaker 9: water can be heavy, you know that, traveling at a
- 29:45Speaker 9: fast seed.
- 29:46Speaker 2: You know, I'm surely that same thing she said when
- 29:49Speaker 2: she was up there looking at it. So he got
- 29:51Speaker 2: a hit with the water balloon? And so what did
- 29:53Speaker 2: the boy cry? And all the boy was out there laughing,
- 29:55Speaker 2: having fun.
- 29:57Speaker 1: It's that mother's son.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Yeah, he came out.
- 30:04Speaker 15: In her hair. He would have got it, all right. CEO,
- 30:20Speaker 15: all right, coming up of the Okay, coming up at the.
- 30:27Speaker 9: Top of the hour, we'll have some entertainment news for
- 30:29Speaker 9: you right after this. You're listening hard morning show. Essence
- 30:39Speaker 9: recently announced that Carolyn Wanga has stepped down as president
- 30:43Speaker 9: and CEO of Essence Ventures. We all remember this past summer,
- 30:47Speaker 9: Wanga received a lot of backlash and online scrutiny about
- 30:51Speaker 9: this year's Essence Fest. Uh Sundial Technology and Media Group,
- 30:55Speaker 9: parent company of Essence Ventures, released a statement that read
- 30:59Speaker 9: in part quote, we are profoundly grateful to Caroline for
- 31:03Speaker 9: her leadership, vision, and unwavering advocacy of Black women and culture.
- 31:08Speaker 9: The statement went on to say, Caroline has left an
- 31:11Speaker 9: indelible mark on Essence and Beyond and we celebrate them anyways.
- 31:15Speaker 9: She has amplified our mission and impact end quote. Wenga
- 31:20Speaker 9: has been on health lead and she will move on
- 31:22Speaker 9: to her next chapter of her life and career.
- 31:25Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 31:26Speaker 9: So we look forward to Essence Best next year then, yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 9: I mean, or will they skip a year?
- 31:33Speaker 4: See what you say?
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the regime that they had in that before Michelle E.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Banks and uh, the young sister that ran all the
- 31:45Speaker 2: booking and stuff, and that was a bad crew right there.
- 31:51Speaker 2: They've been on struggle ever since they left.
- 31:55Speaker 5: Yeah, so they have some rebampping to do and maybe
- 31:58Speaker 5: talking to their readers and the festival goers and give
- 32:01Speaker 5: me back and see what they can do to bring
- 32:04Speaker 5: that magic back to Essence.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 9: And it was a big money maker for them as well.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah, tradition. We were there every year.
- 32:13Speaker 9: Uh huh every year yeah, yeah, Tommy yeah, and other
- 32:19Speaker 9: entertainment news, yeah, and other entertainment news. And then he'd
- 32:23Speaker 9: take off the following Monday for work. Remember that, Yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 9: Taylor Swift in Kansas City chief football star Travis Kelsey
- 32:36Speaker 9: are officially now engaged. The two started dating in the
- 32:40Speaker 9: summer of twenty twenty three. Taylor's engagement ring is a
- 32:43Speaker 9: square oval diamond known as an old mine, cut in
- 32:47Speaker 9: a gold bezel setting. President Trump, remember he once said
- 32:51Speaker 9: that he hated Taylor Smith Swift. Well, he commented on
- 32:54Speaker 9: the couple's engagement news. He said, quote, I wish him
- 32:57Speaker 9: a lot of Luck's up. Finally, pase, yes, just take congratulations, can.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Not take the high road.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Ever, you don't know what I say.
- 33:10Speaker 9: Sake congratulations and best wishes. That's what you say, all right?
- 33:16Speaker 4: Finally.
- 33:16Speaker 9: In trending headline news, the NAACP is suing the state
- 33:20Speaker 9: of Texas over a new electoral map. This is according
- 33:24Speaker 9: to the NAACP. The lawsuit accuses Texas of racially motivated
- 33:28Speaker 9: gerrymandering to silence black communities for next year's midterm elections.
- 33:33Speaker 9: The state of Texas is only forty percent white, but
- 33:36Speaker 9: white voters now control over seventy three percent of the
- 33:41Speaker 9: state's congressional seats. Derek Johnson, President and CEO of the
- 33:47Speaker 9: ACP set all this in the statement. So they're suing
- 33:51Speaker 9: the state of Texas.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and Texas knew exactly what they're doing and they're
- 33:56Speaker 2: not going to change it.
- 33:56Speaker 9: So with the lawsuit, Yeah, see them all.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Let's go and don't get out of the vote. Let's go, y'a.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I gotta register to vote. I mean get out of vote.
- 34:09Speaker 9: You do, man, even though you feel hopeless, sometimes you
- 34:12Speaker 9: still got to.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Exercise that right right, I'm not begging nobody else to vote.
- 34:19Speaker 2: No more.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Look at his face.
- 34:23Speaker 9: You're not good yet. You don't want to bet?
- 34:27Speaker 2: I don't. I don't understand why they cannot vote. I
- 34:33Speaker 2: don't understand how you cannot understand the significance because not
- 34:37Speaker 2: voting is not participating. Not participating is laying down and
- 34:42Speaker 2: dying in it. And they get to do exactly what
- 34:45Speaker 2: they ain't.
- 34:45Speaker 9: No, but no, they're just as frustrated as you are
- 34:49Speaker 9: because they don't see the change they want when they vote.
- 34:53Speaker 9: That's the issue.
- 34:54Speaker 2: But they don't vote. See you hit the crazy part.
- 34:58Speaker 2: You sit up here, because after the election is over,
- 35:01Speaker 2: we get the numbers.
- 35:02Speaker 9: Mm hmm.
- 35:03Speaker 1: You complain.
- 35:06Speaker 2: About it. Don't go the way when you vote but
- 35:08Speaker 2: but then when the results come out, we find out
- 35:10Speaker 2: that you didn't vote.
- 35:13Speaker 9: But then we still are staying responsibilbility on this platform,
- 35:16Speaker 9: steve to encourage people to vote. I mean, no matter
- 35:19Speaker 9: what we have to do, we still have to do
- 35:21Speaker 9: our part in encouraging them to vote. We have to
- 35:24Speaker 9: vote and encourage others to vote.
- 35:28Speaker 2: That Latinos for Trump? How that work out? I don't
- 35:32Speaker 2: even understand, man, how you don't even understand all these
- 35:35Speaker 2: blacks for Trump? How that worked out for you?
- 35:39Speaker 9: What?
- 35:39Speaker 8: What?
- 35:40Speaker 6: What part of what?
- 35:42Speaker 2: What part of this that you don't you get? What makes?
- 35:47Speaker 6: For years?
- 35:49Speaker 3: You know, people every day at their jobs, they cause
- 35:53Speaker 3: every reparat.

- 38:11Speaker 9: got everybody up in the arms. Everyone was, you know,
- 38:14Speaker 9: come on. Anyway. Ryan was a recent guest on the

- 39:21Speaker 2: it's not even a comparison. It's not even close. It's
- 39:25Speaker 2: not it's not even close.

- 39:51Speaker 5: a bad boy like.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Michael Jackson, sold out the world. You can't even understand.
- 39:59Speaker 2: It's it's the Ron Jordan's argument. Yeah, it's it's it's
- 40:05Speaker 2: it's Chris Brown in this era. He is the guy.
- 40:11Speaker 2: He is the guy for sure. But I don't know nobody,
- 40:16Speaker 2: nobody will ever get to the magnitude of stardom, popularity
- 40:22Speaker 2: and all around the money, made the business, the album
- 40:28Speaker 2: soul of Michael Jackson. And you're free to have that opinion.
- 40:32Speaker 2: I think Chris Brown is everything. I can't take nothing
- 40:36Speaker 2: away for her.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yeah he's firing.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but that Michael Jackson throusements he started.
- 40:52Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, but he's still saying Ryan

- 41:33Speaker 9: a message. You just might hear your call on the air.
- 41:36Speaker 9: You ready, Steve?
- 41:37Speaker 6: Yep? All right? Excuse me? Yep?
- 41:41Speaker 9: Okay, that was a tiny bit better. All right, let's
- 41:45Speaker 9: hear from Roy and Shreveport.
- 41:47Speaker 17: Hey, good morning, Steve. Now, my name is Roy, called
- 41:50Speaker 17: him Treeport, Louisiana. My question is, how can you live
- 41:55Speaker 17: amongst people? How can you live amongst people and invironment
- 42:01Speaker 17: and in the world what people portray to be help
- 42:05Speaker 17: and to turn around and stay if you're right in
- 42:07Speaker 17: your back, how can you sleep at night knowing family
- 42:10Speaker 17: is not going to be there, and knowing you've got
- 42:12Speaker 17: nobody to turn to. How do they expect us black
- 42:16Speaker 17: men to live in society and not do what we
- 42:20Speaker 17: have to do for our children. Even if to me
- 42:22Speaker 17: it's getting down and dirty, I don't understand it because
- 42:25Speaker 17: from where I come from, from my neck of the
- 42:27Speaker 17: woods man, it's no.
- 42:29Speaker 9: Help down here periods.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Why everybody leaving?
- 42:32Speaker 17: I just needed some words of encouragement, man, because I'm
- 42:35Speaker 17: a father that's been through a lot, and that's trying
- 42:37Speaker 17: to do the right thing, and seems like everywhere I've
- 42:40Speaker 17: been turning man, you know, reaching out for just even
- 42:43Speaker 17: a few words and encouragement. Man, it's been a bump
- 42:46Speaker 17: the road, so you know, and I thank you for
- 42:48Speaker 17: everything I've been seeing. You know, your real inspiration to
- 42:51Speaker 17: me on TV. And you know, I appreciate everything you do.
- 42:55Speaker 17: That was the only thing I needed to know. Man,
- 42:57Speaker 17: How I'm only thirty three. How am I supposed to
- 42:59Speaker 17: keep with the things that's going on around me?
- 43:02Speaker 2: Thank you? Yeah, Hey, I feel you. I know exactly
- 43:06Speaker 2: where you're at. Manhood is difficult. It's very difficult. It's
- 43:12Speaker 2: fatherhood makes another set of challenges. On top of that,
- 43:17Speaker 2: the responsibility of being a man is hard. But Roy,
- 43:20Speaker 2: you can do it. You can do it because you
- 43:23Speaker 2: have been chosen for the role. See, you didn't accidentally
- 43:27Speaker 2: become a father. God, don't make mistakes. You are a
- 43:30Speaker 2: father because you had to produce these children that you
- 43:34Speaker 2: are now responsible for. Don't let the devil get into
- 43:39Speaker 2: your head and start making you think that you got
- 43:42Speaker 2: to do something sideways to make it happen. See the
- 43:45Speaker 2: devil users all types of tricks. Look, man, stop looking
- 43:50Speaker 2: for support from people who ain't feel they role. You
- 43:54Speaker 2: know the Usually the people around you are not fulfilling
- 43:57Speaker 2: roles in their life. You can't expect them to supper
- 44:00Speaker 2: your fulfilling of your role in your life. So stop
- 44:03Speaker 2: looking for it. See you don't get disappointed if you
- 44:06Speaker 2: don't look for it. Stop expecting people. Your help will
- 44:11Speaker 2: come directly from the most reliable source available, and that
- 44:16Speaker 2: is God Almighty. Now, one of the reasons that your
- 44:21Speaker 2: phone call got picked is because you needed to hear
- 44:24Speaker 2: this message right here that God knows what you're up against,
- 44:29Speaker 2: and God is available. If Steve ain't available, if your
- 44:32Speaker 2: father ain't available, and if the support system around you
- 44:36Speaker 2: ain't available, God is available. Twenty four seven. Keep your
- 44:42Speaker 2: head up, put your eyes on the prize, and do
- 44:46Speaker 2: the right thing. It's hard to do the right thing
- 44:49Speaker 2: when the easy thing seem like it's right there and
- 44:52Speaker 2: you can go get this money.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But if you go get this money and it don't
- 44:57Speaker 2: go right, which it normally doesn't, children who have counted
- 45:01Speaker 2: on you now they daddy behind the wall. Do you
- 45:05Speaker 2: know how many men sit behind that wall. Made that
- 45:08Speaker 2: decision you made for the sake of their family and
- 45:11Speaker 2: ended up costing them the very thing that they was
- 45:15Speaker 2: trying to save and support. You can't do that, bruh.
- 45:19Speaker 2: So now not only can you not support them, you're
- 45:22Speaker 2: not even there to walk them to school and hug them.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Your time that you're investing in these children are much
- 45:30Speaker 2: more valuable than you can possibly know. The fact that
- 45:33Speaker 2: you are there and they can say I'm go tell
- 45:36Speaker 2: my daddy and you can walk them to school or
- 45:39Speaker 2: be there for them. I know, financially it can get
- 45:42Speaker 2: tough for you out here. I know this, but that's
- 45:45Speaker 2: something some talent that you have. I don't know. If
- 45:50Speaker 2: it's washing cars, detailing, I don't know, if it's rims.
- 45:54Speaker 2: I don't know, if it's working down at the tire store.
- 45:56Speaker 2: I don't know. But whatever you can do, and sometimes
- 45:59Speaker 2: you got fake until you make it. Man, You got
- 46:02Speaker 2: to take a job that you don't really care to
- 46:03Speaker 2: have until you get to one you won't. But do
- 46:06Speaker 2: the right thing, brother, and stay on the course. Don't
- 46:08Speaker 2: let the double fool you. Don't let him get you
- 46:10Speaker 2: down that wrong path. Man.
- 46:12Speaker 9: All right, Steve, coming up next to it is the
- 46:14Speaker 9: Nephew and today's prank phone call. Right after this, you're
- 46:18Speaker 9: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at

- 56:47Speaker 6: Begut it for you. Here it is strawberry letter.
- 56:51Speaker 9: Thank you nephew. Subject. I'm not as strong as I
- 56:54Speaker 9: think I am. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm a forty six
- 56:58Speaker 9: year old married man. My wife is forty, and we've
- 57:02Speaker 9: always had great chemistry. Our marriage was fine until my
- 57:06Speaker 9: wife's favorite cousin moved in with us. The cousin is
- 57:10Speaker 9: a very bad influence on my wife, and they have
- 57:13Speaker 9: been out drinking every weekend this summer. My wife comes
- 57:16Speaker 9: home drunk and passes out, and the cousin starts flirting
- 57:20Speaker 9: with me as soon as she hears my wife's snoring.
- 57:23Speaker 9: It all started with her playing in my dreads and
- 57:26Speaker 9: then rubbing my beer, trying to hold hands when we
- 57:30Speaker 9: were talking, and even running around in her bra and panties.
- 57:34Speaker 9: She's thick, but it's nothing I can't handle. I feel
- 57:37Speaker 9: like she wants attention, so I try not to be
- 57:40Speaker 9: mean to her, but she's driving me crazy in my
- 57:43Speaker 9: own home. I am afraid of what might happen if
- 57:46Speaker 9: she catches me on a night that I've had a
- 57:49Speaker 9: drink or too. I have dropped hints to my wife
- 57:52Speaker 9: about this. I told my wife that her cousin doesn't
- 57:55Speaker 9: go straight to bed when they get home from the club,
- 57:58Speaker 9: so we watch movies together. All my wife said is
- 58:02Speaker 9: that her cousin is a night owl and she loves
- 58:04Speaker 9: staying up late. She didn't get what I was trying
- 58:07Speaker 9: to say. My therapist said I should record every interaction
- 58:11Speaker 9: with the cousin to protect myself. He also said I
- 58:14Speaker 9: should tell the cousin it's time to move out because
- 58:17Speaker 9: she is coming between me and my wife. I can't
- 58:20Speaker 9: do that because then my wife will be upset with me.
- 58:23Speaker 9: I have to separate myself from the temptation and the stress.
- 58:28Speaker 9: Do I tell my wife that her cousin has flirted
- 58:30Speaker 9: with me? What if her cousin lies and says I
- 58:33Speaker 9: flirted with her too, I can't say that I didn't.
- 58:36Speaker 9: How do I get the cousin to leave? Not that
- 58:43Speaker 9: it matters now because she has clearly overstayed her welcome.
- 58:47Speaker 9: But you didn't tell us why the cousin is there.
- 58:49Speaker 9: I mean, usually when people move in, it's for particular reason,
- 58:54Speaker 9: and there's a time limit on how long they should stay.
- 58:57Speaker 9: So the why it's very important here but since we
- 59:00Speaker 9: don't have that information, we'll deal with what we do have,
- 59:03Speaker 9: and that is that the cousin does not need to
- 59:05Speaker 9: spend another day at your house.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Period.
- 59:09Speaker 9: Your therapist is right. Your cousin is coming. The cousin
- 59:12Speaker 9: is coming between you and your wife, and you can't
- 59:14Speaker 9: ever let that happen in your house. You mentioned the
- 59:17Speaker 9: word temptation and your letter temptation is real. This girl
- 59:22Speaker 9: waits until your wife goes to sleep and makes sure
- 59:25Speaker 9: she's snoring, then she goes after you with a vengeance.
- 59:29Speaker 9: I mean, this isn't the saint, right. I mean, she's
- 59:33Speaker 9: taking advantage of you guys, hospitality, of your kindness, especially yours. Okay,
- 59:39Speaker 9: this is betrayal in every sense of the word. She
- 59:41Speaker 9: is there to kill your marriage and destroy it. I mean,
- 59:45Speaker 9: I don't know how you don't see this and do
- 59:47Speaker 9: something about it immediately. So, if you love your wife
- 59:51Speaker 9: and you don't want to lose her or your marriage,
- 59:53Speaker 9: because that could be what's going to that's what's going
- 59:57Speaker 9: to happen here. You got to tell your wife that
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: the cousin has to go, give the cousin an exit
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: date immediately, and you should never let anybody bring havoc
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: into your home. I don't think you're taking this seriously
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: enough because you're enjoying the attention that you're getting and
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: you're kind of flirting.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: With her too.
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: But don't be stupid. You gotta talk to your wife.
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: The two of you have to agree to get this
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: girl out of your life and out of your house,
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: a house before his cousin ruins everything.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: You don't need to risk this, Steve, listening to this
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: letter that's written from a man. See, I see all
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: the other stuff in this letter, and that's what makes
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: this letter even crazier than you know. Sherley, This letter
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: is crazier than you know, because I'm gonna tell y'all something. Man,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: I've been a man my whole life, and I know
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: a lot of men, and once you're a man, there
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: are rules to this and we all know the rules.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: But he acts like he don't.
- 1:00:58Speaker 8: Now.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: He's forty six year old, married to his wife. Forty
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: had great Kendrashey until his wife's favorite cousin moved and
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: then they started having an influence on the wife. They
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: were staying out, getting drunk every weekend this summer and
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: pass out, and then the cousin starts flirting with me
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: as soon as she hears my wife snoring. Now, then,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: he said, it all started with her playing in my
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: dreads and then rubbing my bed, trying to hold my
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: hand when we were talking, and even running around in
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: her bra and panties. She's thick, but it's nothing I
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: can't handle. Stop. Let's stop right here. Listen to me.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: A Mandon wrote this letter, y'all. He noticed woman playing
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: in his dreads, in his bed, holding his hand, rubbing
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: his chest, running round in her bra and panties. Dog,
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: you know good and well, what's going on you? Forty six?
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: This ain't a new movie, man, everybody know what this is?
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: Right here?
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: He says, she's thick, but it's nothing I can't handle. Well,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: that's not true, dog, and it's not true that you
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: ain't handled it. It's something that happened here, and I'm
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: gonna tell you why. In just a second. I feel
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: like she wants attention. It ain't no feel like nothing.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: You know what's happening.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: So I try not to be mean to her.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: So oh, so now you accommodate. See, y'all, this is
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: what I want you all to understand. I try not
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: to be mean to her, but she's driving me crazy
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: in my own home. That means now he's faced with
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: the options because if it's driving him crazy, he don't
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: know what to do.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Man, I don't want it.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Man, she come a kill's penis on the trunk, playing
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: my damn my bed. All this here, I'm telling y'all.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: When I come back, I'm gonna tell y'all what the
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: real deal is. And then y'all y'all help.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Me help here.
- 1:03:00Speaker 9: Okay, we'll have part two of your response coming up
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: at twenty three minutes after the hour. Steve Today's Strawberry

- 1:03:50Speaker 9: The subject is I'm not as strong as I think
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: I am.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Well, no, bruh, bruh, br bruh. Nice title. I'm not
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: as strong as I think I am and all this here,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: but I'm a man watching a man write a letter.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna tell y'all. Let me go through this.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Try to get through this quick because I gotta get
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: to this part. I want to tell y all about
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: him and his wife been married for a while, she forty.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Her favorite cousin came to stay with her at a
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: great marriage. So she's a bad influence. They go out
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: on weekends, get drunk, she come home and she pass out.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: And then when she gets drunk and pass out to cousin,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: that's a bad influence on the wife starts flirting with him,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: and she waits. She heard his wife snoring, and it
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: all started when she started playing in his dredge, holding
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: his hands and even running around in her broad and panics.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: She's thick, but it's nothing I can't handle. That's not true, dog,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: that's just not a true. But it's nothing I can't handle. Okay,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: So what you write the letter for and I'm gonna
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: show you deeper why he ain't handling this well. But
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: it's nothing I can't handle. I feel like she wants attention,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: so I try not to be mean to her. But
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: she driving me crazy in my own home. Wait a manue,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: hold up, brother, So you know what she trying to do.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: You don't want to be a mean to her, so
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: you accommodating it. But it's driving you crazy in your
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: own home. You know why he's driving him crazy because
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: he considering it. It stays on his mind. He go
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: when he ain't home, He goes, man, I got to
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: go to the house. She in here, ain't no telling
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: what's she going to? Now listen to me, and then
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: he says, I'm afraid of what might happen if she
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: catches me on the night that I've had a drink
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: or too. Bruh, that's not true. Stop saying that. Stop
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: trying to blame it on the alcohol. You thinking about
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: this sober, because you wrote this letter sober. So this
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: ain't nothing that might happen when you have a drink
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: or two. This is something that's on your mind right
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: now because she in your house driving you crazy. Now,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: unless you drunk all the time in your house, there
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: would be no need for this letter. But you ain't
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: drunk all the time, and it's on your mind. And
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you how I know something didn't happen.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I have drop hints to my wife about this. What
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: all you gotta do is tell her, baby, listen to me.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: I'm uncomfortable with your cousin being here because when you
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: go to sleep at night, I don't like the way
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: she acts behind your back, and I think I don't think.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: She no good.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: I want her out of our house. Period. That's all
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: you got to say. But see this her little statement
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: he made at the top. I'm not as strong as
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I think I am. No, bro, you're trying to play
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: the both worlds. See I told my wife that her
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: cousin don't go straight to bed when they get home
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: from the club, so we watch movies together. All my
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: wife said is her cousbinan the night out and she
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: loves staying them life. She ain't get what I was
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: trying to say. Hold up, though, how is a woman
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: not gonna get what you trying to say? You ain't
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: said nothing. I assure you. Women ain't stupid when it
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: comes to they man, they ain't stupid at all. Now
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: they are act stupid because they start listening to their
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: heart instead of they head. But they not stupid people.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: She didn't give it. Now listen to this line. My
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: therapist said I should record every interaction with the cousin
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: to protect myself. He also said, I should tell the
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: cousin's time to move out because she's coming between me
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: and my wife. Hold up, bro, I'm not as strong
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: as I think I am. As a Tyler letter. You
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: done wrote the Steve Harvey Morning Show and you got
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: a therapist. You then wrote the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: and you got a therapist, and all of us know
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: about this big thick thing is running around your house
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: and her braw and panties playing in your dreads. Now
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: listen to this line right here, He said, I should
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: tell the cousin to move out because she's coming between
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: me and my wife. Now listen to this line. I
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: can't do that because then my wife will be upset
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: with me.
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: Brouh.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: If your wife find out you're not gonna have no wife,
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: why would your wife be upset with you for trying
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: to be loyal and staying true to her and call
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: it out her cousin and not allowing her cousin to
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: ruin your marriage. Ain't no woman, that's stupid.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I keep telling you stop talking.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Then she said, Then he said, I have to separate
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: myself from the temptation and distress. This is ongoing even
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: without the drink, y'all. Do I tell my wife that
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: her cousin has flirted with me?
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: What if her.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: Cousin lies and said I flirted with her? Now watch
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: this suppose her cousin lies and says I flirted with
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: her too. I can't say that I didn't like that
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: right there? See that that See it's it's been some
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: panic playing back and forth between him and the cubs.
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: I'm just telling you what I know, panny playing.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: It's been some panty playing between him and the cups.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: They've been playing around because I ain't no way will
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: you run around in front of me panties own and
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: draw and my wife in their sleep. And I ain't
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: told her, but this didn't happen more than once, and
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: it's creating stress in your house. And now you wrote
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: to Steve Harvey Morning Show and told your therapist and
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: then you said I should tell my wife her cousin
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: flirted with me. What if her cousin lies and said
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I flirted with her too, I can't say that I didn't. Well,

- 1:10:52Speaker 6: Shirley.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Preseason is over. Some have been waved, some have been cut,
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: whatever the difference on the difference.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: So that is.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: But anyway, y'all already know don primetime Sander says Shiloh
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: gonna be all right despite being dropped by the Tampa
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Bay Buccaneers.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: Take a listen.
- 1:11:06Speaker 18: I'm proud of my my kids, all of them, and
- 1:11:10Speaker 18: I prepared my kids for any and everything that could
- 1:11:13Speaker 18: possibly happen in life and in sports. That this part
- 1:11:18Speaker 18: of fathering, this part of parenting, this part of having
- 1:11:21Speaker 18: a relationship. So he is mentally where he needs to be,
- 1:11:27Speaker 18: physically where he needs to be. We're praying that he
- 1:11:30Speaker 18: gets h another opportunity to go with a team, but
- 1:11:34Speaker 18: if he doesn't, the plans have already been put forward
- 1:11:39Speaker 18: to what he's going to do next.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: So Seano is a man of many talents.
- 1:11:43Speaker 18: I don't know, you guys know he's a man of
- 1:11:44Speaker 18: many talents, and uh, he's gonna be straight all the
- 1:11:47Speaker 18: Sanders are gonna be straight with the withdat football.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: You better believe that.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Yes, sir, I love to take care of mine, Okay,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I love that prime.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know this not the end of
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: the world. I mean, you know everybody and then in
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: the football careers for the most part are so short anyway,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Like every football player has to prepare for the end
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: of that career because that's a sport you can't play
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: for a long time. You just can't play that sport
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: for a long time. You know, you Tom Brady was
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: at forty, but you know he ain't out there every
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: play or that boy that stuff that Lebron is doing it.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: That's an exceptional mess because that's every play, eighty two
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: games season, all the years. That's exceptional. But you can't
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: play football that long. There's too many injuries, too many.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: I'm hoping Shallow gets picked up. I'm hoping. I'm still
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: I'm still ruby he dee. I'm pulling for all the
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Sanders because it started with a daddy men as daddy boys.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: So you go like that now now, But I like
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: the fact he's all he's prepared his boys for what.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: You know, football don't work out. And that's what I
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: don't think every I don't think every student, like in
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: high school, junior high you got to have your mindset
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: what if this don't work out? I'm always in my
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: son here, Hey man, what if baseball don't work out?
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: You got to find something to do. We got to
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: figure out what else you like outside of sports. You
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: got fad of.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Being an athlete?
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, parents use your brain bothering exactly.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know, especially for kids, man, you gotta
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: let him get prepared. You might be the best way
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: you at right now, but we got to get out
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: here on this national scale that that them numbers start dropping.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody good, a lot of talent.
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: You got to prepare.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: Yourself for because now we ain't in high school. Now
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: you ain't.
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: You got thank you, Tommy. Coming up at the top
- 1:13:51Speaker 9: of the hour, young woman on social media needs some
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: advice Steve. She says she's wasting away her twenties and
- 1:13:57Speaker 9: we'll talk about it right after this. You're listening into
- 1:14:00Speaker 9: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This is from Elena on
- 1:14:07Speaker 9: Steve Harvey FM. Elena says, I'm twenty six and I
- 1:14:10Speaker 9: feel like my life never really got off the ground.
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: After high school, I drifted without many close friends and
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: never dated. I pushed through college and earned a degree,
- 1:14:21Speaker 9: but now I'm back living with my parents because I
- 1:14:24Speaker 9: can't seem to land anything beyond part time work. My
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: days are just the gem Aaron's and home again. I
- 1:14:31Speaker 9: know I'm healthy and capable, but nights hit me hard,
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: and I can't shake the feeling that I'm wasting my
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: twenties while everyone else is moving ahead. Will I be able?
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: Will I ever be able to catch up with my peers?
- 1:14:44Speaker 9: Or am I already too far behind?
- 1:14:47Speaker 10: Wow?
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Well, first of all, if you've got to stop the
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: comparison things, yes, thank you. Like I told you, comparison
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: is the greatest thief of joy. You don't even You're
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: not even giving your self credit for graduating, forgetting a degree,
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: for being healthy, going to the gym. You're not giving
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: yourself credit for them. You back home with your parents,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: You don't even see that blessing. It's some people ain't
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: got nowhere to go. You back home with your parents,
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: You got a chance to save money, but you can't
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: find nothing worthy. Have you ever thought this is the
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: path that you are on, unlike your friends? And please
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: stop thinking that your friends, all their lives is just
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: or butter cups and daisies, because I trust me, it
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: ain't trust me, it ain't. And twenties is hard on everybody.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: And especially.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: The majority of people I know blow their twenties and
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: end up spending their thirties fixing what they did in
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: their twenties. That part, I mean, your thirties is the
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: repair years. I got all that excess party and stayed
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: in college too long, hold these student loans back. Thirties
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: is repair and you know what, So this is what
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: I would do. Stop focusing on your friends, Focus on yourself.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: What is your gifts? What is your talents? What are
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: you passionate about? And start looking in that and and
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: and ask God what your gift is. It's very simple.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: And once you discover that, become passionate about your gift
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: and get on with your life and realize this, you're
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: only twenty six. At twenty six, I was so fall.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: I wasn't a stick, I wasn't an eight ball, I
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: wasn't a qball.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I was chalk.
- 1:16:46Speaker 9: I was chalk.
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: But keep going, Steve, You'll make it one day. You'll
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: make it one No, listen to me. You're only twenty six.
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: Stop berating yourself. A whole lot of people mess stay
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: twenties up. I know I did that through mine out
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: though window.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: Now I got married at twenty four, had twins at
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: twenty five. I'll go way too fast. I'm just now
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: recovering from that.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: You are grown with children of their own.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I'm still climbing out that hole.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Look, you're a grandfather down Quit it.
- 1:17:30Speaker 9: See, keep going, you'll make it one day. Keep going.
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: Don't get it.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: It's no see, that's what.
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: That's what the mob.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Don't waller in the squalor. Get off and quit. Quit
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: creating squalor that ain't there. You're twenty six. You're actually
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: okay if you quit comparing yourself to your friends who
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: ain't doing all that great, if you really knew the
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: behind the scenes story, stop following them on Instagram. Stop
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: looking at their little life because you don't know how
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: it's going. Hey, man, I had this young dude. I
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: was talking to it one time. He's a very successful
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: young kid, and they having some merit of troubles, and
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: he was talking with some people I knew. He said
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: the funniest thing.
- 1:18:10Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: I had to laugh, But then I had to give
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: him some some some old school wisdom with him, he said,
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: because he was having some real marital issues. He was
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: just sitting there with his head down and he said, man,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: you can't even cheat in peace.
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: What I laughed?
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: Man?
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: I laughed so hard I had to catch myself and
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: then I said, come in, come in, little man, let
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: me that's an oxy moron.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: That's that's something that.
- 1:18:44Speaker 9: Of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up and twenty
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: minutes after right after this, you're listening to the Steve
- 1:18:50Speaker 9: Harvey Morning Show and trending travel news. On a nude cruise, Guys,
- 1:18:59Speaker 9: you think clothing is optional everywhere? Right, Well that's kind
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: of close to the truth, but not the whole truth.
- 1:19:07Speaker 9: New cruisers are free to roam in the buff except
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: in the dining room. It seems the cruise ships don't
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: want bear butts sitting on their dining room chairs. But
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: if you're on a new cruise and don't want to
- 1:19:18Speaker 9: wear clothes, you can eat at the self served buffet line.

- 1:20:02Speaker 2: I sat on the wall. I pulled my lounge up
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: on the wall or you know, I'm right there at
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: the nude and the clothes beat. Now I saw some
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: people on with the clothes on that I needed to
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: then to get over on that other side so I

- 1:25:15Speaker 9: the day. It's been a fun day. We've had a

- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Hey, y'all my closer remarks today, I want to do
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: them on this because we had this young sister called
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: in twenty six that just felt like her life was
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: going nowhere. She had graduated from college, she had moved
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: back in with her parents. All she do is go
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: to jail. She's only found part time work, she hasn't
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: found anything full time. It just feels like she's not
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: She's looking at her other friends and a life seemed
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: to be moving along and everything, and she's just sitting
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: there desponded. At twenty six. I try to remind her,
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: as I remind everybody, do you understand that your path,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: the one that you are on, is uniquely yours. Stop
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: comparing yourself to other bodies, because I can promise you
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: there is no one on earth that's going through exactly
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: what you're going through, with the exact same set of circumstances,
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: with the exact same experience, and with the exact same outcome.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: It's not happening. Yours is very unique. Your life is
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: unique to you. Now, that doesn't mean that somebody ain't
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: had the same thing happened to them. Occasions are occasions everybody.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Somebody's dealt with grief before, someone has dealt with the
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: firing before, somebody has dealt with the repoll before, Somebody
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: has dealt with the sickness before. So that's not what
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: I'm saying. I am saying that your path is uniquely yours.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: And the moment you start comparing yourself to someone else,
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: it brings up the saying that I heard that It's
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: so true. Comparison is the greatest thief of joy. If
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: you want to not feel good about yourself and not
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: feel good about where you are, start lining up some
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: other people and putting yours up against theirs, and you
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: don't even really know the situation of the other person.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: You're just putting it up there. You looking at their
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: Instagram and it looked better than your Instagram, and you
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: looking at your life and they showing you just the
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: good parts of day life. Well what they bad stuff at,
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: what they problems at, because you do know they haveing them,
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: don't you. You know everybody is going through some form
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: of failure somewhere. You know that everybody is not getting
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: it all right. You do know that, don't you? But Nah,
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: you sitting up here thinking you the only one that
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: ain't getting it right because you keep comparing yourself to others.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: And when you compare yourself to others, you lose sight
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: of what God has done for you. Y'all gotta slow
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: this down. Man, don't fall into the comparison game, because
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: you will lose sight of what God has done for you.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: If I look at Tyler Perry, I could find ways
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: to think I'm not doing well. If I look at
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: Michael Jordan, I could find ways to think I'm not
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: doing well. Tiger Woods I could find well. I can
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: look at Brad Pitton find ways to think I'm not
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: doing well. But guess what I am doing well if
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: I don't compare myself to them. You know, somebody asked
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: me a question the other day, Hey man, what other
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: celebrity would you trade lives with? And I went to nobody. Oh,
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: so you think your life is the best. No, but
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: I'm accepting of the one I have. I don't really
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: know what's going on in somebody else's house. I don't
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: want what's going on. I don't want who.
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: They married to.
- 1:29:06Speaker 10: I don't.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: I don't want the problems they have. I'm okay with
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: where I am. I have found peace in what God
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: has done for me. Gratitude eracist negativity. Comparison is the
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: greatest thief of joy. If you wake up in a
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: in a certain mood. Let's let's say tomorrow you wake
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: up on what they call the wrong side of the bed,
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: which I never have that. I don't wake up on
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: the wrong side of the bed. Long as I wake up,
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: I don't care what side I get up on, as
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: long as you wake me up. Guess what I start
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: with some gratitude, and that that dissipates, that disintegrates all
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: negative energy. It is hard to be negative and grateful.
- 1:29:55Speaker 8: You know.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: I learned that best lesson at my mother's funeral. We
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: were all sitting there crying on the front row, me
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: and my brothers and sisters, and the pastor got up
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: and everybody had been talking and I was the worst
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: day on my life. And he said to the Harvey kids,
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: I know y'all feeling bad, But Sister Harvey was a
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: stand out member here at this church for forty years
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: as a Sunday school teacher. Y'all haven't had a chance
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: to look around, but I want you to look around.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: And that church was packed, he said. You haven't been downstairs,
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: but our overflow room is completely full.
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: He said.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: You don't know this, but we had to put up
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: speakers outside in the parking lot because all the parking
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: lots that the church is full, we can't let nobody
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: else in the doors. That's the effect y'all's mother had
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: over forty years of a Sunday school teacher, he said.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: And then I want you to think of all the
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: lives your mama has affected. Look at these people in here.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: There's some people ain't been to this church in years,
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: came here to pay homage to your mama. He said,
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: you know how much good she did. And then he
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: told me the nugget that I needed. He said, joy
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: and depression cannot reside in the same space. Joy and
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: depression cannot reside in the same space. And what he
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: was saying to me was when it looks dark for you,
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: think of the good things. Think of all the stuff
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: you can be grateful for. When you start feeling like
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: you ain't got it going on, Because if somebody wish
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: they had it going on just like you, So be grateful,
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: show gratitude, and stop comparing yourself to others. Comparison is
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: the greatest thief of joy. Those are my closing remarks today.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: Hey listen, y'all, do yourself a huge favor today. Talk
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: to God today. He would absolutely love to hear from you.
