- 1:01Speaker 2: Please welcome to the Money Making Conversations in Manster Class.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Car Let James, excuse me, doctor car lect James, how
- 1:09Speaker 2: you doing, doctor James?
- 1:11Speaker 3: I am awesome, Thank you, Thank you for having me.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Now you down in Las Vegas, Nevada, I am hell loo.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Are he born and raised there or you moved there?
- 1:20Speaker 3: I was raised here. I was born in San Francisco,
- 1:22Speaker 3: but I grew up here. Left many times and winded.
- 1:25Speaker 2: About Okay, cool off air you was talking about AI.
- 1:29Speaker 2: AI is a dominant form of conversation. In fact, I
- 1:32Speaker 2: was in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and
- 1:34Speaker 2: I actually got in a car with no driver and
- 1:37Speaker 2: felt comfortable with that car driving me around the city.
- 1:40Speaker 1: In fact, I was a lot more comfortable. I didn't
- 1:42Speaker 1: have to tip.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I didn't even have to tip, driver didn't ask for
- 1:45Speaker 2: a timp, just let me out and I would all
- 1:47Speaker 2: buy my business. So for me to have that experience
- 1:51Speaker 2: was unique because technology is in front of us and
- 1:55Speaker 2: is not going anywhere.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Talk about why you value AI so much.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Because it makes life simplified. I am of an age
- 2:05Speaker 3: group that finds it a little intimidating and scary, and
- 2:09Speaker 3: so my dedication is to help them navigate through it
- 2:14Speaker 3: and not be afraid of it. It is simply a tool.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's going to be a good tool in a good
- 2:19Speaker 3: person's hand, it'll be a bad tool in a bad
- 2:21Speaker 3: person's hand, but it is something that will definitely simplify
- 2:25Speaker 3: your life.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You know, I am old enough to have went through
- 2:29Speaker 2: dial telephones.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Then you know remote remote was a big deal. Got
- 2:35Speaker 1: a remote TV the house. You know, I got the
- 2:39Speaker 1: little cell phone.
- 2:40Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden when the era of
- 2:43Speaker 2: the iPad and now you know you can talk to
- 2:46Speaker 2: somebody around the world and visually see them. That's what
- 2:49Speaker 2: technology is to us today. Now when you talk about
- 2:53Speaker 2: your lying, that's effect which is a business model. Now,
- 2:56Speaker 2: how does it help women move from purpose to profit
- 2:59Speaker 2: with our co comprimising their values, Doctor James.
- 3:02Speaker 3: It first teaches them their identity. Once they know who
- 3:06Speaker 3: they are and they can embrace their uniqueness, then they
- 3:11Speaker 3: can utilize that as their superpower. So once that happens,
- 3:14Speaker 3: then you can start to step out in your true,
- 3:18Speaker 3: authentic self, build business, be authentic to your clients or
- 3:23Speaker 3: your customers because of who you are. But it starts
- 3:26Speaker 3: with knowing who you are and identifying that, not trying
- 3:30Speaker 3: to be anybody else, not trying to walk in anybody
- 3:33Speaker 3: else's lane. So your authenticity is your empowerment. I call
- 3:37Speaker 3: it your superpower.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Use that word a lot, superpower. Why do you use
- 3:41Speaker 2: the word superpower so much? And why is it important
- 3:45Speaker 2: that you educate people to purpose as to why you're
- 3:48Speaker 2: using it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Superpower means that for me, I'm a woman of faith,
- 3:53Speaker 3: So for me, superpower means that you've taken the super
- 3:56Speaker 3: of God, put it on your own natural and you've
- 3:59Speaker 3: been in powers buy it. So that's why superpower is
- 4:03Speaker 3: very very important to me.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know, women, I grew up with six sisters, I
- 4:08Speaker 2: have two brothers that come from a big family, and
- 4:12Speaker 2: there are so many challenges that women have to deal with,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you know, you know, the looks become a part of it,
- 4:18Speaker 2: how they dress become a part of how they talk,
- 4:21Speaker 2: to have kids or not to have kids. So there's
- 4:25Speaker 2: so many variables that are put in front of a woman.
- 4:28Speaker 2: How do you motivate women to still seek out their
- 4:31Speaker 2: dreams despite all these stereotypes of what they should look like,
- 4:35Speaker 2: what they should do, and how they should educate themselves.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Again, it goes back to your identity. If you are
- 4:43Speaker 3: trying to be what culture you said that you are,
- 4:48Speaker 3: then you're going to miss who you are authentically. We
- 4:52Speaker 3: are on television, women being portrayed as a certain way.
- 4:57Speaker 3: So I'm like you, I've grown up through all the
- 5:00Speaker 3: different I can remember back in the day when there
- 5:03Speaker 3: was model tweeting Twiggy and we're told you need to
- 5:09Speaker 3: be twitting as an African American woman, just say.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Right, right, right, right right.
- 5:18Speaker 3: And so we needed to be able to love who
- 5:22Speaker 3: we are, love our own skin, love how we were
- 5:26Speaker 3: created to be so, and not try and emulate what
- 5:30Speaker 3: culture has said. Even in the business community as we transition,
- 5:36Speaker 3: we've gotten much better now see on boards when our
- 5:39Speaker 3: CEOs and CEOs. But there was a time when the
- 5:44Speaker 3: only thing you were good enough to do is be
- 5:46Speaker 3: a secretary and other people right, Okay, you know your potential,
- 5:52Speaker 3: but nobody else wanted to give you that chance. So
- 5:55Speaker 3: you have to be comfortable enough to go forward and
- 6:00Speaker 3: who you are without trying to be that bull in
- 6:02Speaker 3: the China cabinet. I'm not trying to make waves. I
- 6:07Speaker 3: am just trying to make room for who I am.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Preach girl, Preach doctor Jay. You know you kind of
- 6:14Speaker 1: got close to the camera on that one.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Okay, but this is good because you don't people were
- 6:20Speaker 2: passionate would drive success. But let's talk about some of
- 6:23Speaker 2: the questions, you submit it because they were really good. Now,
- 6:26Speaker 2: one of the questions was one of the biggest mindset
- 6:29Speaker 2: and structural mistakes women make that prevent them from monetizing
- 6:34Speaker 2: their expertise.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That they're not good enough, that they are not enough
- 6:42Speaker 3: just in who they are, and they based out on
- 6:45Speaker 3: something that somebody said to them back in the day
- 6:49Speaker 3: or something that they said to themselves. We can be
- 6:53Speaker 3: our biggest limitter if we are not in the proper mindset.
- 6:58Speaker 3: You'll hear me go back to ideay. I need to
- 7:01Speaker 3: know who I am authentically so that I can appreciate
- 7:06Speaker 3: that and not doubt it. Our uniqueness pushes us forward
- 7:12Speaker 3: if you let what somebody told you so, maybe a
- 7:15Speaker 3: teacher told you you weren't smart enough, right, Maybe a
- 7:19Speaker 3: parent didn't allow you to express yourself now respectfully, but
- 7:24Speaker 3: to express your conversations that no, a child needs to
- 7:28Speaker 3: just be seen and not heard. You remember that back
- 7:30Speaker 3: your day, and so you limited that because you didn't
- 7:34Speaker 3: think your voice was valuable enough to be heard. And
- 7:39Speaker 3: so you have to come up from that place and understand, no,
- 7:44Speaker 3: you are enough. You are enough in who you were
- 7:47Speaker 3: created to be. I am a firm believer that we
- 7:50Speaker 3: were created on purpose for purpose. We are not a mistake,
- 7:54Speaker 3: and we are not just here because Mama and Daddy
- 7:56Speaker 3: decided to have some fun one night. We are here
- 7:59Speaker 3: at this point of time because we have something to accomplish.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Cool. I'm speaking doctor Corlette James. She's based in Las Vegas.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Her Faith Faith nonprofit organization is dedicated to empower women
- 8:14Speaker 2: to heal lead. Let's talk about the first part, empower
- 8:18Speaker 2: women to heal.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Heal from what heal.
- 8:22Speaker 3: From past traumas and abuses. Some of it comes from
- 8:26Speaker 3: childhood abuse, some could be sexual abuse, some could be
- 8:30Speaker 3: domestic abuse. Maybe you are in an abusive relationship. Others
- 8:34Speaker 3: could be societal abuse because society would have put you
- 8:39Speaker 3: in a box that you have to break out of.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But in order to really realize your dreams and understand
- 8:45Speaker 3: that your dreams are important, you have to heal from
- 8:48Speaker 3: the various different abuses that caused you to limit your
- 8:52Speaker 3: belief in yourself. So we help you just heal from
- 8:55Speaker 3: that point.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Now by healing, how does that allow you to lead?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Doctor James.
- 9:02Speaker 3: A hurt leader will hurt people.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Okay, if you're still walking in that pain, you're not
- 9:08Speaker 4: free to properly lead others to where you have been
- 9:13Speaker 4: orchestrated to take them.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Remember, leadership means you go out front, right, So if
- 9:20Speaker 3: you haven't healed, then how are you going to help
- 9:23Speaker 3: somebody else heal? If you're outfront leading, I can't take
- 9:27Speaker 3: you to where I haven't been. I need to go
- 9:30Speaker 3: out front, make the way and let you understand that
- 9:34Speaker 3: if I can do it, you can do it. So
- 9:36Speaker 3: that's why healing is so important in leadership.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Now, when you look at you know yourself. You know
- 9:42Speaker 2: you are a nonprofit business. Why did you decide to
- 9:48Speaker 2: be an entrepreneur? Even though we were a nonprofit? You're
- 9:51Speaker 2: an entrepreneur, you're a small business owner. Why was that
- 9:54Speaker 2: important versus just nine to five forty hours a week,
- 9:58Speaker 2: a little overtime here and there, got insurance, maybe a
- 10:01Speaker 2: four to one k easy way out? Doctor James? What
- 10:06Speaker 2: motivates you to walk a different path?
- 10:10Speaker 3: I grew up in an entrepreneurial home. Okay, my parents
- 10:13Speaker 3: were entrepreneurs and and please understand that I I.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Was Okay, Okay, we're gonna get back to that question.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Because you were in that world and now you're empowering
- 10:34Speaker 2: people to not really basically have a voice, because in
- 10:38Speaker 2: that world of a corporate structure, let's be honest, you
- 10:42Speaker 2: don't have a voice.
- 10:43Speaker 1: You don't have a voice, do you manage?
- 10:46Speaker 2: You're doing business for what that company wants, and they
- 10:49Speaker 2: have a brand they want you to maintain. So your
- 10:53Speaker 2: voice is that brand. I don't care who you work for,
- 10:56Speaker 2: what corporation you work for. Just like my company, I'm
- 11:01Speaker 2: allowing you to work for me as long as you
- 11:04Speaker 2: exercise the brand. I want you to project a distributor
- 11:07Speaker 2: for me. Now, with that being said, you were fifty
- 11:11Speaker 2: seven years at this company, but on the side you
- 11:14Speaker 2: had this this superpower organization for women.
- 11:19Speaker 1: How did you balance that?
- 11:22Speaker 3: Because the Lioness war your kingdom is my passion.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Okay, who I am? Okay, I am the Lionness.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Okay, that is who I am. And you said something
- 11:33Speaker 3: very very important. You your voice is the brand of
- 11:37Speaker 3: who you're working for. If you're working for yourself, then
- 11:41Speaker 3: your voice is your brand.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You have a website, your social media because I want
- 11:46Speaker 2: the people to become engaged and do research to find
- 11:49Speaker 2: out about you and just don't go to Vegas to
- 11:52Speaker 2: gamble this This superpower queen is waiting on you to
- 11:56Speaker 2: change your life dot to call. Let James talk about
- 11:59Speaker 2: your website and your social media.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Mianus waryokingdom dot com.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Please don't go anywhere.
- 12:06Speaker 2: We'll be right back with more money Making Conversations Masterclass.
- 12:09Speaker 2: No need for you to do me a favor right
- 12:12Speaker 2: now to follow our subscribe to Money Making Conversation. It's
- 12:16Speaker 2: free and you can find it on the iHeartRadio app, Spotify,
- 12:20Speaker 2: Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Please do
- 12:24Speaker 2: me that favor, follow or subscribe money Making Conversations. Welcome
- 12:32Speaker 2: back to Money Making Conversations master Class with me Rashaun McDonald.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Cool.
- 12:37Speaker 2: You know faith based as a lot of people start
- 12:39Speaker 2: their profits, but they tend to struggle, you know, like
- 12:43Speaker 2: our business.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Let's going to be real.
- 12:44Speaker 2: All businesses start to struggle in the beginning unless you
- 12:48Speaker 2: have a plan that people want to become engaged with
- 12:51Speaker 2: or want to buy your products. But faith based businesses
- 12:55Speaker 2: tend to struggle even more. Talk to us about that
- 12:58Speaker 2: and how have you been able to over coming But
- 13:00Speaker 2: you were smart, you're a full time job and you're
- 13:03Speaker 2: developing your brand part time, but not everybody does that.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Talk to us.
- 13:08Speaker 3: So part of my My strategy is incorporating the Kingdom
- 13:14Speaker 3: into your business. Okay, the minus affect business model does
- 13:18Speaker 3: not separate your faith from your business. All right. It's
- 13:22Speaker 3: not that you're out there preaking to your customers or
- 13:25Speaker 3: your clients, but you're being authentic to your faith and
- 13:28Speaker 3: your core value as you're out there. And so it's
- 13:32Speaker 3: it's combined. And because of my my over thirty forty years.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Come speak to you. I'm gonna change something.
- 13:46Speaker 3: I'm changing.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You don't want to make conversations with Rashan Mcdonald'm tell
- 13:51Speaker 2: you them, Doctor James.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I don't allow age to be an excuse.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And I'm looking you guys might be listening on your podcast.
- 13:58Speaker 2: You might be Oh, Year's ex Sam or something like that.
- 14:02Speaker 1: This woman's fantastic.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I don't know what she's been doing for fifty years,
- 14:04Speaker 2: but she got about another fifty years the way she's
- 14:07Speaker 2: looking working for herself. So please, if you have anything
- 14:11Speaker 2: to take away from Rashan McDonald, project your greatness, because
- 14:16Speaker 2: you can't accomplish what you're trying to accomplish unless you
- 14:19Speaker 2: have lived a life. You cannot talk to a potential
- 14:23Speaker 2: lyingness if you don't have examples of how you can
- 14:26Speaker 2: live your life through your example. Long jeredy means something,
- 14:31Speaker 2: doctor James. So it's back to you now let me.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Say this, and because I'm proud of it, I'll be
- 14:37Speaker 3: seventy this year.
- 14:38Speaker 1: There you go, come on now, so you.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Know, and it's something that I put out there because
- 14:44Speaker 3: I want women to understand. You can dream at any age.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's pivot at any age. You can walk out there
- 14:51Speaker 3: and start something totally brand new at any age. And
- 14:55Speaker 3: so it's important to know, like I was trying.
- 14:58Speaker 1: To it on it. I know you money maken sessions since.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I was thirteen years old, so I was out in
- 15:05Speaker 3: the workforce over fifty years. But as as an executive,
- 15:11Speaker 3: I bring that that business acronym into what I teach
- 15:16Speaker 3: with the lioness effects. So I combine the business aspect
- 15:20Speaker 3: along with the Kingdom morals and values to teach absolutely.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Let that be out here. How can women stop overserving
- 15:28Speaker 2: and under earning while still leading with integrity and purpose?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Talk to me about that, because they they choices. Okay,
- 15:37Speaker 2: it's just choices about the way they look, the way
- 15:40Speaker 2: they act. What are those choices?
- 15:43Speaker 3: There's choices about your whole person, right, all right? Because again,
- 15:48Speaker 3: even if you're on the job, you're still your brand.
- 15:51Speaker 3: You're still who you are, all right, So don't don't
- 15:55Speaker 3: be hesitant to speak up. You know, don't don't tell
- 16:00Speaker 3: me your light. You were created to shine, So don't
- 16:05Speaker 3: tell your light whether you're on the job or your business.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Be authentically youth and speak and dress the part. Dress
- 16:14Speaker 3: where you where you, not just where you are, because
- 16:17Speaker 3: sometimes you may not be where you want to be,
- 16:19Speaker 3: but dress the part where you want to be. Carry
- 16:22Speaker 3: yourself in a manner that represents your bread. It's yours,
- 16:28Speaker 3: whether you're on somebody else's job or not.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You know, as you as you started your journey. And
- 16:34Speaker 1: you're smart.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I say smart because she didn't jump out there on
- 16:37Speaker 2: faith with the Lioness.
- 16:40Speaker 1: She had a full time job.
- 16:41Speaker 2: So she was able to, I like to believe, build
- 16:47Speaker 2: a better path to success because you didn't walk away
- 16:50Speaker 2: from revenues.
- 16:51Speaker 1: A lot of people they walk away from that revenue.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Then all of a sudden they make it just rush
- 16:56Speaker 2: decisions or impulsive decisions, or don't want to see it
- 17:00Speaker 2: through because frustration can say then like bills are do
- 17:04Speaker 2: and things of that nature. Talking to my listeners, being
- 17:08Speaker 2: the fact that you decided to do to do two
- 17:11Speaker 2: things at the same time and still give one hundred
- 17:14Speaker 2: percent effort. How were you able to accomplish that? Doctor James,
- 17:19Speaker 2: I use.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Wisdom, seriously. I use wisdom to navigate what it is
- 17:24Speaker 3: that I needed to do, and I had to prioritize
- 17:28Speaker 3: my time. It's what I know that during a certain
- 17:32Speaker 3: time of the day, my time is allocated to that
- 17:35Speaker 3: job because they're paying me to do a job. They're
- 17:37Speaker 3: not paying me to do my nonprofit. So I dealt
- 17:40Speaker 3: with that now being an executive out there in the
- 17:43Speaker 3: business world, my time was very valuable. And the fact
- 17:47Speaker 3: that it wasn't a nine to five. You know, when
- 17:49Speaker 3: you're in that c swee area, it's not a nine
- 17:52Speaker 3: to five. But I still allocated time to pursue what
- 17:57Speaker 3: I was passionate about. And even all the job, there
- 18:00Speaker 3: were women that I mentioned on the job, so I
- 18:03Speaker 3: was still to who I was women, that's what we're
- 18:09Speaker 3: all to do and using wisdom and how you do
- 18:12Speaker 3: it so that you don't get fired.
- 18:15Speaker 2: She has a business model called the Lioness Effect. It
- 18:18Speaker 2: helps women move from purpose to profit with our compromising
- 18:22Speaker 2: their values. I want to go back to that line
- 18:25Speaker 2: right there, move from purpose to profit with our compromising
- 18:30Speaker 2: their values?
- 18:31Speaker 1: What are you saying there? And when you.
- 18:34Speaker 2: See it happening, how do you help someone correct what
- 18:39Speaker 2: you deem as a problem.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Going from purpose to profit is taking your your passion
- 18:48Speaker 3: to a place of monetization. And that was something that
- 18:50Speaker 3: I had to learn to do because I have a
- 18:52Speaker 3: heart to serve and to give, and so it had
- 18:56Speaker 3: to I had to stop and put a value on
- 19:00Speaker 3: what I was giving. And a lot of times, when
- 19:03Speaker 3: you're just giving everything away, it is not valued by
- 19:08Speaker 3: that other person as much as if they put value
- 19:11Speaker 3: on it, and that'll come from their pockets sometimes, So
- 19:16Speaker 3: you have to learn and navigate the waters. I've been
- 19:20Speaker 3: in ministry since nineteen ninety two, so giving was part
- 19:24Speaker 3: of who I was. However, I'm still in business as well,
- 19:28Speaker 3: and so there is a value on what I give
- 19:31Speaker 3: you and what I offer you. My time is valuable
- 19:35Speaker 3: and I have to learn that. So what I try
- 19:38Speaker 3: to teach people to correct what they're doing is to
- 19:42Speaker 3: value what they're serving. What is it that you're giving
- 19:46Speaker 3: your customers, What is it that you're giving your clients
- 19:49Speaker 3: and put value on that.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Now that's important that you're saying that because of the
- 19:55Speaker 2: fact that when you start doing actionable plan as the
- 20:00Speaker 2: actionable items you know, you know, how do you give
- 20:03Speaker 2: advice to clarify their value, their position, their expertise, and
- 20:07Speaker 2: increase revenue because that's the bottom line, you want to
- 20:10Speaker 2: make more money. So what actionable steps can listeners take
- 20:13Speaker 2: immediately to clarify their value from you? From the model?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Did you be we're really talking to women? The line's effect,
- 20:21Speaker 2: that's your business model. Talk to us?
- 20:24Speaker 3: What would you pay for I paid no question.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You came out so strong to me.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I got to start answered, well, I pay for value,
- 20:36Speaker 2: doctor James. I went to you had me in class mode. Okay,
- 20:45Speaker 2: doctor James, I pay for value?
- 20:49Speaker 3: What you pay for what you're offering somebody else?
- 20:51Speaker 1: Okay?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Would it be valuable to you? And how much would
- 20:56Speaker 3: you pay for it? What would it be worth to
- 20:58Speaker 3: you to receive it? That's the first place that you
- 21:02Speaker 3: have to start. If you wouldn't buy what you're trying
- 21:04Speaker 3: to sell to somebody else, then why are you trying
- 21:06Speaker 3: to sell it to somebody else? What is the quality?
- 21:10Speaker 3: Not the quantity, but what is the quality in what
- 21:14Speaker 3: you're offering? Have you brought it up to with a
- 21:17Speaker 3: level of excellence. So the quality speaks to the price
- 21:22Speaker 3: tame because if it doesn't, then you're spinning your wheels
- 21:26Speaker 3: and you're not aligning yourself with who you should authentically be.
- 21:31Speaker 3: As again, as a person of faith, you should be
- 21:35Speaker 3: going over and above what the natural would be, because
- 21:38Speaker 3: that's what God does for you. He goes over and
- 21:40Speaker 3: above what He gives unto you, and you should follow
- 21:44Speaker 3: that model. So what would you buy from you?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Right, that's a beautiful question. I live on that motto.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I said, people pay you on how they value you.
- 21:57Speaker 1: You know, people call you if they see value to
- 22:02Speaker 1: call you.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Now if you don't position yourself, if you if you're
- 22:05Speaker 2: a person at parties all the time, where they only
- 22:06Speaker 2: want to call you when they want to go.
- 22:07Speaker 1: To a party.
- 22:09Speaker 2: If you're a person they seek strong mentorship where they
- 22:12Speaker 2: gonna call you when they need advice. You get raised
- 22:16Speaker 2: at you will get a raised at your job if
- 22:17Speaker 2: people that person sees value in the work that you're
- 22:20Speaker 2: consistently doing. But in the end, there are different layers
- 22:25Speaker 2: about freedom and how to build wealth, and that's what
- 22:30Speaker 2: we're talking about on money making conversations wealth building, and
- 22:34Speaker 2: a lot of people want to win the lottery, which
- 22:38Speaker 2: is a process over there, and if you spend enough
- 22:41Speaker 2: time playing a lottery, you're gonna win something.
- 22:45Speaker 1: How do you build wealth under the model that you
- 22:48Speaker 1: call the Lioness.
- 22:51Speaker 3: I look at wealth from various different avenues. I look
- 22:54Speaker 3: at wealth first and foremost by the wisdom's walking there, okay,
- 23:01Speaker 3: because wealth is not always monetary. Wealth can carry a
- 23:06Speaker 3: whole lot of different things. My biggest wealth marget is
- 23:10Speaker 3: the legacy that I'm leaving. What am I leaving behind?
- 23:14Speaker 3: Because that's wealth, that's wealth, And then we start to
- 23:18Speaker 3: build on the monetary. But first and foremost, what is
- 23:22Speaker 3: it that you're leaving behind in the lives of the
- 23:26Speaker 3: people that you're serving, your clients and your customers. Again,
- 23:30Speaker 3: quality first, excellence. These things will build wealth for you
- 23:38Speaker 3: because people will pay for quality. People think that, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 3: you have to have to serve things that are cheap
- 23:45Speaker 3: to make money because if I get something from you
- 23:48Speaker 3: and it doesn't last, I'm not coming back to you, right.
- 23:52Speaker 3: But if I get something that imparts something within me
- 23:55Speaker 3: and it lasts, that's what the real of the old
- 23:57Speaker 3: commercial with ZENI the quality to go here before the
- 24:01Speaker 3: name goes on. Right, that's how you build wealth. Make
- 24:05Speaker 3: sure you put the quality in before your brand your
- 24:08Speaker 3: name goes on.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about talent then, you know, you know,
- 24:12Speaker 2: because a lot of people are talented out there, but
- 24:16Speaker 2: talent is never a guarantee or is not a guarantee
- 24:20Speaker 2: to build wealth. How do we menture people to understand
- 24:24Speaker 2: that talent is only one of the values that you
- 24:28Speaker 2: can have.
- 24:29Speaker 1: If you got it, you.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Win it, okay, But there also have to be some
- 24:33Speaker 2: other steps that you need to put in place for
- 24:35Speaker 2: long term success.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Because you're talking about the word legacy.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Know you're Lane. If you're talented and you're a creator,
- 24:45Speaker 3: you may not be a business person. You may have
- 24:48Speaker 3: to bring somebody alongside you to build your business. You're
- 24:52Speaker 3: the talent, You've got the vision, you're the creative person.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Know you're Lane. If you're not good at business, bring
- 24:59Speaker 3: somebody alongside you to help me with business. If you're
- 25:02Speaker 3: not good at marketing, what somebody alongside you to help
- 25:05Speaker 3: you with marketing?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:07Speaker 3: No, you're lean and operate in it and that also
- 25:10Speaker 3: will help you build wealth.
- 25:12Speaker 2: That's important to say. I'm talking Todude, the one and only,
- 25:15Speaker 2: Doctor Corlett James. You know, she made sure you know
- 25:18Speaker 2: her daddy's name was caught, so they just added let
- 25:20Speaker 2: on to it. She's West Coast girl now living in
- 25:24Speaker 2: Las Vegas, changing lives, work for a job, fifty fifty
- 25:27Speaker 2: years You one of these people, doctor James.
- 25:29Speaker 1: You know you say, I'm about turn seventy.
- 25:32Speaker 2: You know, in public, you see people you go, I know,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I don't look like that, don't you do?
- 25:39Speaker 1: I know I don't lie, am cause I do it
- 25:42Speaker 1: all the time. I go, I don't walk like that,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I don't dress like that.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Because to live a good life, doctor James, as we
- 25:50Speaker 2: close out this interview, there has to be a plan.
- 25:53Speaker 2: You've been planning to look like this, to talk like this,
- 25:57Speaker 2: talk about that, because a lot of people don't understand that.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I've been thinking this way since I was eighteen years old.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I met a gentleman. He was like thirty years old,
- 26:04Speaker 2: and we were playing basketball in the park, and I
- 26:07Speaker 2: thought he was like my age, and he struck me
- 26:10Speaker 2: so much. He said, he said, don't live your age,
- 26:13Speaker 2: live your life.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And that stayed with me.
- 26:17Speaker 2: And so the way I walk, the way I talk,
- 26:20Speaker 2: the way I present myself is because that is the life.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I want to have. How are you doing it, doctor James.
- 26:28Speaker 3: I have made a declaration that I will never get old.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I will get older. Therefore, I'm gonna keep going. I'm
- 26:34Speaker 3: gonna keep going as long as I got breath in
- 26:37Speaker 3: my body to keep going. I agree with you. I
- 26:39Speaker 3: see some of my friends and they don't look like
- 26:41Speaker 3: I love. But I made a decision and a choice
- 26:45Speaker 3: at thirty two years old, a coup up out of
- 26:47Speaker 3: the street and take better care of myself, and that
- 26:50Speaker 3: made it different in how I am today at almost seventy.
- 26:55Speaker 3: It's like you have to make decisions about how important
- 26:59Speaker 3: are you right and then carry yourself accordingly.
- 27:03Speaker 2: That's right. She made me respond to her. I thought
- 27:07Speaker 2: she was talking to me. I thought she was out.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Thought I was in high school responding to it. But
- 27:12Speaker 2: she's a brilliant person who's living in Vegas.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Doctor. Call that, James again, the line. That's effect. That's
- 27:18Speaker 1: her business model.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It helps women move from purpose to profit with are
- 27:23Speaker 2: compromising their values. Thank you for coming to on Money
