  and it says for or because. If you possess these

  qualities, and let's look again at what the qualities

  were. Faith adds goodness. Knowledge. Knowledge

  adds self -control. Self -control, perseverance.

  Perseverance, godliness. To godliness, mutual

  affection. And to mutual affection, love. For

  if you possess these qualities in increasing

  measures. Now these are like meters, and if they

  just keep going up as you are walking out your

  faith in Christ. We keep adding these things

  and adding them by increments even. They will

  keep you from being ineffective. Ineffective

  is when you can't get done what you're supposed

  to get done. And unproductive, and that's when
• 0:49
  you can't produce what you're supposed to produce,

  in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's

  one thing to know about Jesus. It's another thing

  to know Jesus. And it's another thing to know

  Jesus and have our knowing of Jesus equal. productivity,

  and effectiveness. And here Peter is telling

  us how to do those things. To add these characteristics,

  make a mental note of these verses, 2 Peter 1,

  verse 8. And it tells you how to be productive

  and effective in your knowledge of the Lord Jesus
