- 0:40Speaker 3: I'm sold. I'm sold.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You just left the Joint Session Center and it was
- 0:45Speaker 1: one hell of a night. If there's anything you can say,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Democrats pretty much stood for.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Nothing like it at all.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well, look, this is where doing the podcast is fun.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It is twelve twenty eight in the morning. I just
- 0:56Speaker 2: got got home to my DC apartment about five minutes
- 0:59Speaker 2: ago and just left the State of the Union and
- 1:03Speaker 2: the State of the Union. I got to say it
- 1:04Speaker 2: was I think a spectacular State of the Union addressed
- 1:07Speaker 2: from President Trump. It's the fifth one hees given. I
- 1:09Speaker 2: think it was triumphant. I think it was positive. I
- 1:12Speaker 2: think it was forward looking. I think it emphasized exactly
- 1:16Speaker 2: what you and I predicted in Monday's pod that he
- 1:19Speaker 2: was going to emphasize. It emphasized promises, made promises, kept
- 1:23Speaker 2: the victories we've seen in the first month and a
- 1:26Speaker 2: half of the presidency. But I got to say all
- 1:30Speaker 2: of that was overshadowed in many ways by the utterly
- 1:36Speaker 2: disgraceful behavior of the Democrats. It was something I've never
- 1:41Speaker 2: seen before. It was shocking, it was disrespectful, it was defiant,
- 1:47Speaker 2: it was delusional. We're gonna break it all down. We're
- 1:50Speaker 2: gonna break down the best parts of the speech, the
- 1:52Speaker 2: best things President Trump had to say, and we're going
- 1:54Speaker 2: to talk about what it indicates that today's Democrat party
- 1:58Speaker 2: stands for nothing, applat for nothing, does not cheer on America.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It is something never before seen at a State of
- 2:08Speaker 2: the Union address. We're going to break it down and
- 2:09Speaker 2: what it means.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it was truly an incredible night, and like you said,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I think it's probably the best speech the presents ever given.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I want to tell you real quick about our friends
- 2:17Speaker 1: over at the IFCJ. After more than a year of war,
- 2:21Speaker 1: tar and pain in Israel, all of Israel has broken
- 2:25Speaker 1: hearted after learning of the tragic deaths of the Beavis
- 2:29Speaker 1: children who were held hostage in Gazam, and so many
- 2:32Speaker 1: are still hurting throughout the Holy Land, where the need
- 2:35Speaker 1: for aid is unfortunately continuing to grow. That is where
- 2:40Speaker 1: the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews has stepped in,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and you have stepped in to help support the families
- 2:47Speaker 1: of the hostages and other victims of the October seventh
- 2:51Speaker 1: terror attacks. And with your help, IFCJ has provided financial
- 2:55Speaker 1: and emotional help to hostages and their families into those
- 2:59Speaker 1: healing and re building their broken homes and broken bodies.
- 3:03Speaker 1: But the real work is really just beginning now. Your
- 3:06Speaker 1: gift will help provide critically needed support to families in
- 3:10Speaker 1: Israel whose lives continue to be destroyed by terror and
- 3:14Speaker 1: uncertainty as Israel remains surrounded by enemies. You can give
- 3:18Speaker 1: a gift to bless israel inner people and have a
- 3:22Speaker 1: real impact today by visiting support IFCJ dot org. That's
- 3:28Speaker 1: one word support IFCJ dot org. Now you can also
- 3:33Speaker 1: call them eight eight eight four eight eight IFCJ. That's
- 3:38Speaker 1: eight eight eight four eight eight if CJ or online
- 3:43Speaker 1: its support IFCJ dot org center.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I want to start with what stole the show?
- 3:49Speaker 1: You mentioned in a second ago, and and you, I know,
- 3:52Speaker 1: probably had a mental list in your in your head.
- 3:55Speaker 1: In there in the room, I was making notes on
- 3:58Speaker 1: my phone and putting them out on acts of all
- 4:01Speaker 1: the things that democratic lawmakers couldn't stand up to honor.
- 4:06Speaker 3: It's a long list.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but look, let's start with the very beginning of
- 4:11Speaker 2: the night. The very beginning of the night is when
- 4:15Speaker 2: the President walks onto the floor of the Senate and
- 4:17Speaker 2: he's introduced the President of the United States, and not
- 4:23Speaker 2: a single Democrat stood, not a single Democrat applauded. Now, Ben, listen,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I've been to thirteen State of the Union addresses. I've
- 4:33Speaker 2: gone to everyone since I got elected to the Senate,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and I actually love going to the State of the Union.
- 4:37Speaker 2: There's a pageantry to it, there's something amazing. It's more
- 4:41Speaker 2: fun when your guys in office. It's more fun when
- 4:43Speaker 2: you get to cheer on your own party, but I
- 4:46Speaker 2: go when the Democrats are in office. And I got
- 4:49Speaker 2: to tell you, every single time Joe Biden walked in,
- 4:54Speaker 2: every single time Barack Obama walked in, I stood up
- 4:58Speaker 2: and I applauded. Not because I I agreed with their agendas.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Their agendas were disgraceful and disastrous, but because I respect
- 5:04Speaker 2: the office of President of the United States, and I
- 5:07Speaker 2: respect the American people. And and I have never once
- 5:12Speaker 2: seen the opposing party refused to applaud for the president.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Understand what a break with tradition that is. Even in
- 5:21Speaker 2: past years, the Democrats applauded at the outset for the
- 5:25Speaker 2: President of the United States until tonight and and the
- 5:29Speaker 2: entire night. I guess I'm actually grumpy with the Democrats
- 5:33Speaker 2: because they've they've stolen my favorite game to play at
- 5:37Speaker 2: the State of the Union.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So, by the way, I know this game, and that's
- 5:40Speaker 1: why I'm laughing right now, because it was a great
- 5:42Speaker 1: game you created years ago.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and we've talked about it in the pod before.
- 5:46Speaker 2: So the State of the Union address. Look, if your
- 5:49Speaker 2: party's in power, it's you know, I joke, it's it's
- 5:52Speaker 2: like I actually was. I was sitting with Dave mcormick,
- 5:54Speaker 2: the new Center from Pennsylvania, who's you know, an our
- 5:58Speaker 2: Army veteran, And I said, all right, David is going
- 6:00Speaker 2: to be like pt in the army. Get ready for
- 6:02Speaker 2: Jane fond fondo aerobics. You're gonna pop up and down
- 6:05Speaker 2: and up and down and imagine the Trump. The President's
- 6:07Speaker 2: wearing leg warmers and you're just gonna be doing nothing
- 6:10Speaker 2: but every four words, standing up and applauding. And that's
- 6:13Speaker 2: what we did. I got to say, you know, my
- 6:15Speaker 2: my thighs are killing me from from from from just
- 6:19Speaker 2: doing squats all night.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But I want to see the stats, by the way,
- 6:23Speaker 1: on your R ring. I want to know what's the
- 6:25Speaker 1: what's the calorie burn during a state the longest stay
- 6:28Speaker 1: of the Union ever?
- 6:29Speaker 3: With Donald Trump speaking? Now that's real intel I need.
- 6:33Speaker 2: So I so, I don't know. I could look at
- 6:34Speaker 2: it in a second, And I don't know if they
- 6:36Speaker 2: count as steps because we're not moving. We're just standing
- 6:38Speaker 2: and sitting and standing and sitting and standing in city.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But what I like doing during the State of the
- 6:42Speaker 2: Union is watching the opposing party and picking out like
- 6:45Speaker 2: a couple of senators or House members and typically the
- 6:47Speaker 2: more moderate ones, and watching them agonize over what to
- 6:52Speaker 2: applaud or what to stand for it in the past,
- 6:54Speaker 2: you know, I'd look at like a Joe mansion and
- 6:57Speaker 2: you know he he would be you know, America is great,
- 7:01Speaker 2: and you'd see a few Democrats applaud for that, even
- 7:04Speaker 2: stand we support the troops, and they'd kind of agonize, Oh, okay,
- 7:08Speaker 2: I guess I could support the troops. But then they'd
- 7:10Speaker 2: go back and forth. Tonight they stood for nothing. So
- 7:17Speaker 2: they stood that. They did not stand for Joscelyn Nungeri's mother,
- 7:26Speaker 2: the twelve year old beautiful girl raped and murdered in
- 7:29Speaker 2: Texas by I legal immigrants. They would not stand for Alexis.
- 7:32Speaker 2: They did not stand for Lake and Riley's mother and sister.
- 7:37Speaker 2: They did not stand for a thirteen year old kid
- 7:43Speaker 2: surviving brain cancer. Like how do you not like like, okay,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm a crazy partisan who hates Trump, but okay, thirteen
- 7:51Speaker 2: year old kids surviving brain cancer wants to be a
- 7:53Speaker 2: cop like ull Like literally every single State of the
- 7:58Speaker 2: Union address that has been given from the beginny of time,
- 8:01Speaker 2: every person on the floor would have stood for the
- 8:05Speaker 2: thirteen year old kid or survive brain cancer. Zero Democrats stood.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I looked at them. They didn't.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Still, it was an emotional in there because I was
- 8:14Speaker 1: watching it and I got choked up watching it, and
- 8:16Speaker 1: there was a lot of people that were texting me, like, dude,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I'm crying right now. Because when you see a little
- 8:22Speaker 1: kid and how big his eyes got. You may not
- 8:24Speaker 1: have been able to see it from the floor because
- 8:26Speaker 1: they zoomed in, but when they said we're gonna make
- 8:29Speaker 1: you an agent, his eyes got so big.
- 8:33Speaker 3: He clearly didn't know what was going to happen.
- 8:35Speaker 1: His dad didn't know either, and it was just one
- 8:38Speaker 1: of those get a lump in your throat, choke up moments.
- 8:41Speaker 2: So I will say it was emotional, but it was true.
- 8:44Speaker 2: When you were in the chamber, we couldn't see the
- 8:46Speaker 2: kid's facial expressions. It was just too far away that
- 8:49Speaker 2: you couldn't see it. So I saw his facial expressions
- 8:52Speaker 2: for the first time about a half hour ago, when
- 8:54Speaker 2: I did Hannity and Sean played the close up and
- 8:57Speaker 2: so I could see, you know, I mean, I saw
- 8:59Speaker 2: the k and it was beautiful and we were cheering
- 9:01Speaker 2: and like when you know, Trump made him an honorary
- 9:03Speaker 2: Secret Service agent. That was really cool. But you're right,
- 9:06Speaker 2: the close up of his facial expressions was was really powerful.
- 9:10Speaker 2: And he's a Texan. DJ Daniel Daniel is a Texan.
- 9:13Speaker 2: You had Alexis Nunger. It was a Texan. But but
- 9:17Speaker 2: it was amazing. Look, the Democrats did not stand.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Uh.
- 9:20Speaker 2: They didn't stand for cutting taxes. They didn't stand for
- 9:23Speaker 2: no taxes on tips.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Uh.
- 9:25Speaker 2: They didn't stand for automakers building new manufacturing plants in America.
- 9:31Speaker 2: They didn't stand for steel workers that. They didn't stand
- 9:34Speaker 2: for border patrol agents. It was they didn't stand for
- 9:39Speaker 2: a kid going to West Point whose father was a
- 9:44Speaker 2: police officer killed in the line of duty, and the
- 9:48Speaker 2: President admitted him to West Point in the middle of
- 9:51Speaker 2: the speech, which was a pretty amazing moment too, Like
- 9:54Speaker 2: I it was, but but I will say this is
- 9:57Speaker 2: actually a there was There's one thing the entire night
- 10:01Speaker 2: they stood and clapped for. You know what it was?
- 10:04Speaker 2: What was that they stood and clapped for giving hundreds
- 10:08Speaker 2: of billions of dollars to Ukraine. There you go.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I knew there was a moment there and but the
- 10:13Speaker 1: pant when the feet I saw you could hear the
- 10:16Speaker 1: room get louder, but I wasn't sure if they were
- 10:19Speaker 1: standing for it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: And so that was the moment.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So not everyone stood, but a number of them stood.
- 10:24Speaker 2: A number of them pulled out Ukrainian flags. None of
- 10:26Speaker 2: them had American flags, but a number of them pulled
- 10:28Speaker 2: out Ukrainian flags. And I got to say, Look, you
- 10:31Speaker 2: could have disagreements about the war on Ukraine, but what
- 10:34Speaker 2: the hell does it say about Democrats that they will
- 10:37Speaker 2: cheer for Ukraine but not for America.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You go back to what you said about those emotional moments.
- 10:43Speaker 1: There was also moments in there that were good for
- 10:46Speaker 1: the American people.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and just policies.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I mean, you can't clap for tax cuts, you can't
- 10:53Speaker 1: clap for a secure border, which was something by the way,
- 10:55Speaker 1: they said that they were in favor of. Remember when
- 10:57Speaker 1: they were like, well it's us that we're in favor
- 10:59Speaker 1: of it. Us still workers, they couldn't clap for. They
- 11:03Speaker 1: couldn't clap for you know, the I go back to
- 11:06Speaker 1: the West Point for a moment. That was another emotional
- 11:08Speaker 1: moment where you've got a young man that's getting into
- 11:11Speaker 1: West Point who had a tragedy in his family life,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and they wouldn't stand for that. And then the capture
- 11:17Speaker 1: of terrorists, by the way, that one.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Actually was for murdering service the thirteen servicemen and women
- 11:24Speaker 2: in Afghanistan capturing the terrorists, and they're not happy to
- 11:27Speaker 2: capture the terrorists. People.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Can we play that clip because it's an important one.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Just this is what the President said. It's not hard
- 11:35Speaker 1: to clap for this or stand for this. It should
- 11:38Speaker 1: be like a universal everyone stand moment to.
- 11:41Speaker 4: The country tonight and please to announce that we have
- 11:45Speaker 4: just apprehended the top terrorists responsible for that toutrocity and
- 11:51Speaker 4: he is right now on his way here to face
- 11:53Speaker 4: the swift sword of American justice.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I mean that that was, by the way, break news
- 12:00Speaker 1: in n nine point nine percent of the people I'm
- 12:01Speaker 1: assuming in.
- 12:02Speaker 2: The room certainly to me, I didn't know that.
- 12:04Speaker 1: To you, okay, So I was wondering if you guys
- 12:06Speaker 1: knew that before, because it seemed like that everybody was
- 12:08Speaker 1: kind of caught off guard, like that was new to everyone.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And yet the President says it. You can hear half
- 12:14Speaker 1: the room or up the other ass like no, no, no,
- 12:16Speaker 1: my guy, terriss. That kills Americans that we're bringing back
- 12:18Speaker 1: to America. No, that's under Donald Trump can't.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And listen, I was looking over at the Democrats and
- 12:23Speaker 2: repeatedly turning to the folks around me, just saying, what
- 12:26Speaker 2: the hell is wrong with these people? Like it is,
- 12:29Speaker 2: how do you not cheer for that? And I think
- 12:33Speaker 2: the answer is they're so filled with hate. This is
- 12:37Speaker 2: now the party of hate and rage. And they hate
- 12:40Speaker 2: Donald Trump, the hay Deal on Musk and and they're
- 12:43Speaker 2: just and they're they hate the voters that elected Donald Trump.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And so there always were points listen in Democrats State
- 12:54Speaker 2: of the Union addresses, there have been a number of
- 12:56Speaker 2: things that I applauded for. If they say something that
- 12:59Speaker 2: I agree with, I happily applaud for if they, you know,
- 13:02Speaker 2: anytime they talk about supporting the troops. By the way,
- 13:05Speaker 2: at a State of the Union. So the Supreme Court
- 13:07Speaker 2: never never applauds other than they applaud at the beginning.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So the Supreme Court applauds traditionally at the President of
- 13:13Speaker 2: the United States when he's introduced, and that's typically the
- 13:16Speaker 2: only thing they applaud for. The Joint Chiefs, they usually
- 13:20Speaker 2: do the same thing. They'll applaud at the introduction of
- 13:23Speaker 2: the President of the United States. But I'll tell you
- 13:24Speaker 2: the Joint chiefs they applauded at the kid when he
- 13:27Speaker 2: was admitted to West Point, and it was I noticed
- 13:29Speaker 2: the general's applauding, and yet not a Democrat would. And
- 13:33Speaker 2: I got to say, Ben, there was a lot in
- 13:36Speaker 2: this speech to applaud for. As I said, I think
- 13:38Speaker 2: this is the best speech President Trump has ever given,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and so I was happy and enthusiastically applauding. Now, if
- 13:45Speaker 2: you did not have two hours to listen to the
- 13:47Speaker 2: speech tonight, if you didn't actually watch it, we've tried
- 13:50Speaker 2: to help you out on this podcast. So we have
- 13:52Speaker 2: a montage where we've selected some of the key moments
- 13:56Speaker 2: of the speech. And it's a little over three minutes,
- 13:58Speaker 2: so it's not very long. So you didn't have two hours,
- 14:01Speaker 2: here's three minutes that sums up the best moments from
- 14:05Speaker 2: President Trump's State of the Union address tonight.
- 14:08Speaker 4: I returned to this chamber tonight to report that America's
- 14:13Speaker 4: momentum is back, our spirit is back, our pride is back,
- 14:17Speaker 4: our confidence is back, and the American dream is surging
- 14:21Speaker 4: bigger and better than ever before.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Are we of ended.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Weaponized government, where as an example, a sitting president is
- 14:29Speaker 4: allowed to viciously prosecute his political opponent like me.
- 14:37Speaker 2: How did that work out?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Not to? Apa? Not to? Within hours of taking the
- 14:42Speaker 4: oath of office, I declared a national emergency on our
- 14:46Speaker 4: southern border, and I deployed the US military and border
- 14:50Speaker 4: patrol to repel the invasion of our country. And what
- 14:55Speaker 4: a job they've done. As a result, illegal border crossings
- 15:00Speaker 4: last month were by far the lowest ever recorded ever.
- 15:08Speaker 4: To unshackle our economy, I have directed that for every
- 15:13Speaker 4: one new regulation, ten old regulations must be eliminated, just
- 15:19Speaker 4: like I did in my very successful first day, and
- 15:23Speaker 4: I have stopped all government censorship and brought back free
- 15:27Speaker 4: speech in America.
- 15:29Speaker 2: It's back.
- 15:32Speaker 4: We've ended the tyranny of so called diversity, equity, and
- 15:36Speaker 4: inclusion policies all across the entire federal government, and indeed
- 15:42Speaker 4: the private sector and our military and our country will
- 15:51Speaker 4: be worked no longer. I also signed an executive order
- 15:56Speaker 4: to ben men from playing in women sports, and in
- 16:03Speaker 4: the near future, I want to do what has not
- 16:06Speaker 4: been done in twenty four years balance the federal budget.
- 16:11Speaker 3: We're going to balance it.
- 16:14Speaker 4: One point three million people from ages one hundred and
- 16:18Speaker 4: fifty to one hundred and fifty nine and over one
- 16:21Speaker 4: hundred and thirty thousand people according to the Social Security databases.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Our age over one hundred.
- 16:32Speaker 4: And sixty years old. We have a healthier country than
- 16:36Speaker 4: I thought, Bobby, including to finish one thousand and thirty
- 16:57Speaker 4: nine people between the ages of two hundred twenty and
- 17:00Speaker 4: two hundred and twenty nine, one person between the age
- 17:03Speaker 4: of two hundred and forty and two hundred and forty nine,
- 17:06Speaker 4: and one person is listed at three hundred and sixty
- 17:11Speaker 4: years of age, more than one hundred years, more than
- 17:15Speaker 4: one hundred years older than our country. But we're going
- 17:23Speaker 4: to find out where that money's going, and it's not
- 17:26Speaker 4: going to be pretty.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I mean this speech to go back to what you
- 17:33Speaker 1: said at the beginning. Number one, It did not feel long.
- 17:37Speaker 1: And there's an art when you're speech writing that you
- 17:40Speaker 1: want to be done before people are ready for you
- 17:43Speaker 1: to be done. Yeah, this speech did not seem long.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I want to know what it felt like when you
- 17:49Speaker 1: were in the chamber.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Number one.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But two, like the President came in and just brought
- 17:56Speaker 1: the heat, and I think the American people are going
- 17:58Speaker 1: to respond to this.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Oh, look, I thought it was a terrific speech. As
- 18:01Speaker 2: I said, it was optimistic, it was positive, it was
- 18:03Speaker 2: focused on results, the results that the President has been
- 18:07Speaker 2: producing and Republicans have been producing in just over forty days.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, it really is incredible. It was
- 18:14Speaker 2: also a funny speech, like that whole litany going through
- 18:18Speaker 2: that the people on Social Security over one hundred and
- 18:20Speaker 2: twenty and over two hundred years and over three hundred
- 18:23Speaker 2: years old. Every line of it was funny. He had
- 18:27Speaker 2: a whole litany he went through Doge and the wasteful
- 18:31Speaker 2: spending that was just hysterical. And by the way, we're
- 18:37Speaker 2: cracking up laughing. All the Republicans, no Democrat laughed like
- 18:40Speaker 2: even on the funny lines as he goes through, they
- 18:43Speaker 2: support every bit of waste possible and just across the board.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Now in terms of the length, so this was the
- 18:51Speaker 2: longest State of the Union in history. And I'll tell
- 18:54Speaker 2: you so, I was sitting I was sitting with Tommy
- 18:58Speaker 2: Tubberville from Alabama. I was sitting with Josh Holly from Missouri,
- 19:01Speaker 2: and I was sitting with Dave McCormick from Pennsylvania.
- 19:04Speaker 3: So so, so how does that work? How do you
- 19:06Speaker 3: decide to you sit with. Is it just happen organically,
- 19:08Speaker 3: you guys hang out?
- 19:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, you just kind of we all all the
- 19:13Speaker 2: senators gather on the Senate floor and then we walk
- 19:16Speaker 2: from the Senate floor over the over the House floor
- 19:18Speaker 2: across the Capitol and we walk in together. And and
- 19:21Speaker 2: the House saves the front seats for the Senate, and
- 19:25Speaker 2: so they actually give give the best seats to the Senate,
- 19:27Speaker 2: which is nice, nice of the House to do. And
- 19:29Speaker 2: and so there are a whole bunch of seats I
- 19:32Speaker 2: presume one hundred seats that that are kept in the front,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and they have little placards on the seats that say
- 19:38Speaker 2: reserve for a senator. Uh. But but other than leadership
- 19:43Speaker 2: like John Thune and and and the elected leadership, they
- 19:46Speaker 2: have seats that are reserved specifically for them. But for
- 19:49Speaker 2: everyone else, it's just senator. And you can sit wherever
- 19:51Speaker 2: you want. And so just as you walk in, you
- 19:53Speaker 2: take the open seats. So it's a little bit happenstance.
- 19:57Speaker 2: But as as we were, we were prepared ring, we
- 20:01Speaker 2: actually had a friendly wager on how long the speech
- 20:05Speaker 2: was going to go. So so I bet that it
- 20:09Speaker 2: was going to go ninety three minutes, so an hour
- 20:11Speaker 2: and thirty three minutes. Josh Holly, who was sitting next
- 20:16Speaker 2: to me, bet it was going to go an hour
- 20:17Speaker 2: and thirty seven minutes.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Okay, just plan a little bit of prices, right.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Little price is right. Tommy Tuberville and and uh Dave
- 20:26Speaker 2: McCormick both bet an hour and forty minutes. So we
- 20:32Speaker 2: were all in the same neighborhood. And actually the one
- 20:34Speaker 2: who won was Holly. So so it was in fact
- 20:37Speaker 2: an hour and thirty eight minutes. So I was five
- 20:40Speaker 2: minutes off, but Josh was only one minute off, and
- 20:42Speaker 2: if he'd got another minute, McCormick and Tubberville would have won.
- 20:46Speaker 2: But but but it was so it was interesting that
- 20:48Speaker 2: that that those were the four of our.
- 20:50Speaker 3: How you guys picked that number?
- 20:51Speaker 1: By the way it was it did you see enough
- 20:54Speaker 1: beforehand or excerpts or themes you know, or original we got.
- 20:59Speaker 2: We had not seen a text of it at all.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It's just knowing Donald Trump and having been the State
- 21:03Speaker 2: of the Union addresses before. Look, I mean, we knew
- 21:06Speaker 2: it was going to be about an hour and a half,
- 21:08Speaker 2: maybe a little bit more, and so that uh uh,
- 21:12Speaker 2: we knew he had a lot to say. It was
- 21:13Speaker 2: not going to be a short speech, and and but
- 21:16Speaker 2: it didn't feel long. You're right, I mean it was.
- 21:18Speaker 2: There was storytelling in it. It was funny, it was
- 21:21Speaker 2: relating powerful moments. And then, as I said, the the
- 21:25Speaker 2: antics of the Democrats really look, including sadly Al Green,
- 21:31Speaker 2: congressman from from your in my hometown Houston, who stood
- 21:35Speaker 2: up and just made a complete ass of himself.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And I was going to ask you on that one,
- 21:40Speaker 1: because it played on TV like it was very clearly
- 21:45Speaker 1: pre planned. And for me, they don't know him. This
- 21:47Speaker 1: is the guy that he's now called for turning impeached
- 21:50Speaker 1: a third time. He led impeachment first second, that's like
- 21:53Speaker 1: his thing, and so as soon as the presidents elected,
- 21:56Speaker 1: it's like, oh yeah, yeah, we got impeach a sky
- 21:57Speaker 1: and we're going to call for impeachment. It it played
- 22:00Speaker 1: on TV like it was one hundred percent pre planned
- 22:03Speaker 1: by him to do that, or maybe even the Democratic Party.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I don't know if they were involved. This is just
- 22:07Speaker 1: his own brainchild. What was it like being there though?
- 22:12Speaker 2: So look, I think everyone was shocked, shocked and not chocked.
- 22:15Speaker 2: We expected the Democrats to misbehave and engage in antics.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I didn't expect that they would refuse to applaud for anything,
- 22:24Speaker 2: and I've never seen there have been a couple of
- 22:26Speaker 2: instances where where House members have called out like have
- 22:32Speaker 2: you know Joe Wilson famously said said when Obamacare said?
- 22:36Speaker 2: When Obama said, I think it was on Obamacare, if
- 22:40Speaker 2: you want your health in church, you can keep it,
- 22:41Speaker 2: And Joe Wilson famously called out, you lie. And that
- 22:46Speaker 2: was a big deal that one congressman called out two words.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Was a big deal that people still talk about a
- 22:51Speaker 2: decade later.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And so by the way, the media totally freaked out
- 22:55Speaker 1: the entire night afterwards, like I can't believe to do this,
- 22:57Speaker 1: he shouldn't be in Congress, she resign, I mean, And
- 23:00Speaker 1: then tonight nothing from the mainstream media on this one.
- 23:04Speaker 2: And look he stood up, he interrupted the speech. And
- 23:07Speaker 2: by the way, I don't know, could you hear what
- 23:10Speaker 2: he was saying?
- 23:11Speaker 3: No, we could not.
- 23:12Speaker 1: It just I thought it very interesting that it looked
- 23:15Speaker 1: like Speaker Johnson was ready in cases happened because he
- 23:18Speaker 1: looked down to read the words he was reading about
- 23:20Speaker 1: the rules.
- 23:21Speaker 2: So what he was saying, it's interesting what he got
- 23:24Speaker 2: mad at He got mad when Trump said I've got
- 23:28Speaker 2: a mandate from the election, and al Green stood up
- 23:31Speaker 2: and he was yelling, saying, you don't have a mandate.
- 23:33Speaker 2: You do not have a mandate. And it was the
- 23:37Speaker 2: Democrats are in absolute denial. They're in denial that the
- 23:42Speaker 2: election happened. Look, the facts are straightforward. Trump. Of the
- 23:46Speaker 2: seven swing states, he won all seven. He won the
- 23:50Speaker 2: popular vote in this country, something that Republicans haven't done
- 23:53Speaker 2: for twenty years. He won a Republican House and a
- 23:57Speaker 2: Republican Senate. Any way you look at it, that's a mandate.
- 24:01Speaker 2: And yet that's what al Green was screaming about. And
- 24:04Speaker 2: he kept on screaming and interrupting the president. The president
- 24:06Speaker 2: finally had to stop. I mean, he was standing right
- 24:08Speaker 2: in the middle and just screaming and trying to yell
- 24:11Speaker 2: over the president, and the Speaker gaveled him down and said, listen,
- 24:16Speaker 2: if you don't maintain decorum, the sergeant at arms will
- 24:19Speaker 2: remove you. And al Green kept on yelling, and so
- 24:22Speaker 2: the sergeant at arms removed him. And by the way,
- 24:26Speaker 2: the Speaker said tonight on Hannity that al Green is
- 24:30Speaker 2: likely going to be censured by the House of representatives,
- 24:32Speaker 2: which which I think is unsurprising because if you if
- 24:36Speaker 2: you disturb an official proceeding like that, that's that's the
- 24:40Speaker 2: natural remedy.
- 24:42Speaker 3: It's incredible. Let me tell you about Patriot Mobile.
- 24:45Speaker 1: While we may have won this election, the fight to

- 26:50Speaker 1: I want to go back to one other point that
- 26:52Speaker 1: we mentioned earlier, but I think it's important to kind
- 26:55Speaker 1: of expand on it. And it was a shocking moment
- 26:59Speaker 1: of just either completely out of touch or this Democratic Party,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I guess you could just say, is in a sense
- 27:07Speaker 1: just completely lost. You had not a single Democrat applaud
- 27:12Speaker 1: Peyton McNabb who suffered brain damage after a volleyball spiked
- 27:17Speaker 1: by a trans person, a man that acting like a woman, ended.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Her hopes of a college career.
- 27:24Speaker 1: That's how significant the injury was, and it made her
- 27:28Speaker 1: retire and also took potentially like a scout, changed her
- 27:33Speaker 1: life forever.
- 27:35Speaker 3: And they couldn't even clap for her.
- 27:38Speaker 2: No, not a Democrat clap for not one. And by
- 27:41Speaker 2: the way, just this past week, every single Democrat in
- 27:45Speaker 2: the Senate voted against protecting girls from boys competing in sports,
- 27:51Speaker 2: every one of them. And you know in the campaign listen,
- 27:55Speaker 2: in my reelection campaign, Colin all Red claims I don't
- 27:59Speaker 2: support boys playing in girls sports. Well, every Senate and
- 28:02Speaker 2: except the fact that he voted for it over and
- 28:04Speaker 2: over and over again, every single Senate Democrat when they're
- 28:07Speaker 2: on reelection campaigns they tell the voters, I don't support
- 28:10Speaker 2: boys and girls sports, and yet every single one of
- 28:13Speaker 2: them just voted for it, and not a one of
- 28:15Speaker 2: them applauded. I mean, it's the simple reality of how
- 28:19Speaker 2: extreme their party is.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Now.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I will tell you one thing that that was particularly
- 28:24Speaker 2: meaningful to me was all the Texans whom President Trump
- 28:30Speaker 2: honored a night, including Alexis Nungary, the mom of Joscelyn. Now,
- 28:34Speaker 2: Alexis was going to be my guest tonight. Every senator
- 28:37Speaker 2: gets one guest, and I had invited Alexis. She was
- 28:40Speaker 2: coming up as my guest, and then the President invited her.
- 28:43Speaker 2: So she went and she was sitting with Milania Trump.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I was really grateful for the the for her being
- 28:52Speaker 2: invited by the President to come there. And then right
- 28:55Speaker 2: next to Milania Trump was Elliston Barry. And Elliston Berry
- 28:58Speaker 2: is someone also another Texan who was the inspiration for
- 29:02Speaker 2: the Take It Down Act. So, Elliston Barry's a fifteen
- 29:05Speaker 2: year old girl from North Texas from Aledo who, when
- 29:09Speaker 2: she was fourteen and a freshman in high school, a boy,
- 29:12Speaker 2: a classmate of hers, took an innocent social media picture
- 29:17Speaker 2: of her and used artificial intelligence to create a deep
- 29:21Speaker 2: fake naked image of her that appeared to be real
- 29:26Speaker 2: but it was fake, and then sent it to her classmates.
- 29:29Speaker 2: And she was the inspiration for my legislation to Take
- 29:32Speaker 2: It Down Act, which passed the Senate unanimously.
- 29:37Speaker 1: And by the way, how many times have you been
- 29:39Speaker 1: involved in legislation that was passed unanimously in your career
- 29:43Speaker 1: in the Senate.
- 29:44Speaker 2: A lot of times. I've passed one hundred and one
- 29:48Speaker 2: different pieces of legislation into law. A number of them
- 29:51Speaker 2: were unanimous, the Senate off And if you do the work,
- 29:53Speaker 2: you can bring people together and pass something. And actually,
- 29:57Speaker 2: just yesterday, the first Lady, Milanie Trump came to the Capitol,
- 30:01Speaker 2: first time she has this first lady the second term,
- 30:04Speaker 2: supporting the Take It Down Act, and we did a
- 30:06Speaker 2: round table, which we're gonna we're gonna talk about significantly
- 30:09Speaker 2: more on Friday's pod. But we did a round table
- 30:11Speaker 2: where Milania Trump heard from Elliston Berry, heard from other
- 30:14Speaker 2: victims of non consensual intimate images and called on the
- 30:18Speaker 2: House to pass the Take It Down Act. And President
- 30:22Speaker 2: Trump tonight called in the House to pass the date
- 30:24Speaker 2: Take It Down Act. So I was really glad the
- 30:26Speaker 2: two people directly next to to Malania Trump to her left,
- 30:31Speaker 2: where two Texans Elliston Berry and Alexis Nungary and and
- 30:35Speaker 2: and that made me very happy.
- 30:37Speaker 1: It was that that may have been one of the
- 30:38Speaker 1: best parts of the night. Let's talk about what this
- 30:41Speaker 1: looks like moving forward. I think the President's speech is
- 30:45Speaker 1: going to play very well with the American people. I
- 30:48Speaker 1: think it's going to help with momentum moving forward.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I also do think that the American people, in the
- 30:53Speaker 1: way they were watching this on TV saw the the
- 30:58Speaker 1: the shocking moments when they wouldn't stand for children that were,
- 31:02Speaker 1: you know, murdered by illegal immigrants, their families, police officers
- 31:06Speaker 1: die in the lie of dooy duty.
- 31:08Speaker 3: It was on the list.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I mean, you look at all of this, bringing an
- 31:12Speaker 1: American hostage home from Russia, by the way, they wouldn't
- 31:14Speaker 1: stand for that. That was another moment we left at earlier.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Were you shocked by that as well?
- 31:20Speaker 3: Well?
- 31:20Speaker 2: And you and I covered Mark Fogel coming back, We
- 31:23Speaker 2: covered that on the podcast when had happened. That was
- 31:29Speaker 2: one of the multiple times I turned to the folks
- 31:31Speaker 2: around me and I'm like, what the hell is wrong
- 31:33Speaker 2: with these people? Like, like, how do you not. This
- 31:36Speaker 2: is not partisan. This is not I get that they
- 31:40Speaker 2: don't cheer for, you know, conservative ideas because they're all
- 31:44Speaker 2: wacko lefties, But how do you not cheer for things
- 31:48Speaker 2: that are just unambiguously good. And it's today's Democrat party,
- 31:53Speaker 2: it's accommodation. They become the party of hate and rage
- 31:57Speaker 2: and they're in denial. They don't know how to respond
- 32:00Speaker 2: to this election other than to fume and glare. And
- 32:05Speaker 2: I got to say, if you're an elected Democrat, how
- 32:09Speaker 2: do you think this is a good message to the
- 32:12Speaker 2: American people. We hate everyone and everything that's the Democrats like.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I don't get that.
- 32:19Speaker 1: No, I don't either. So what happens now? This is
- 32:22Speaker 1: my prediction. I think the presence proval rating is going
- 32:25Speaker 1: to stay solid and in certain categories, support on certain
- 32:30Speaker 1: issues will actually rise coming out of this State of
- 32:32Speaker 1: the Union. I think this is going to continue the
- 32:35Speaker 1: momentum on on things like DOGE and even in some
- 32:39Speaker 1: of the issues that we're talking about that are in
- 32:42Speaker 1: tough ones, whether it's dealing with Mexico and cartels, or
- 32:45Speaker 1: tariffs or Canada and fetanol. The list goes on and on.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think same thing on Ukraine funding. I think this
- 32:53Speaker 1: could catapult him to even greater near term success. That's
- 32:58Speaker 1: a lot of political capital that obviously you want your
- 33:01Speaker 1: your prediction.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Look, I agree with you. I think the American people
- 33:06Speaker 2: are going to be happy with this speech. They're going
- 33:08Speaker 2: to be happy with the results. The American people are
- 33:10Speaker 2: happy with successes for America. And we're getting on the border,
- 33:15Speaker 2: seeing illegal immigrations and illegal boarding crossings drop over ninety percent.
- 33:19Speaker 2: That's an unambiguous victory. On energy, Seeing energy production going up,
- 33:25Speaker 2: seeing regulations being repealed, seeing wasteful spending being eliminated, those
- 33:30Speaker 2: are unambiguous victories. In terms of jobs, he went through
- 33:34Speaker 2: the investments, the investments on new investments, whether from Oracle
- 33:38Speaker 2: or Apple, or car companies bringing new factories here. Those
- 33:42Speaker 2: are big wins. Those are the sorts of things. Those
- 33:45Speaker 2: are the sorts of things. Frankly, when Joe Biden talked
- 33:47Speaker 2: about if you know, he had Democrats and their speeches
- 33:50Speaker 2: would talk about a new factory, and you know what,
- 33:53Speaker 2: the Republicans would all stand and chair, because, hey, a
- 33:55Speaker 2: new factory in America is a good thing. And we
- 33:58Speaker 2: even if we don't support many, if not most, of
- 34:01Speaker 2: Biden and Obama's policies. We cheer for the American people.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I think that the president's message was really strong, but
- 34:10Speaker 2: I also think the contrast with the Democrats made it
- 34:13Speaker 2: even stronger.
- 34:14Speaker 4: And so.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I think this was a good night for America, but
- 34:21Speaker 2: not a good night for today's Democrat party.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Great point. It's always fun to get to do a
- 34:27Speaker 1: joint pod. So wherever you're listening right now, makes you
