- 1:10Speaker 1: guest today. She is an Emmy Award winning TV and
- 1:13Speaker 1: film producer and entrepreneur. She is currently producing a very
- 1:17Speaker 1: hot show for BT entitled Games Diva's Play, a sexy
- 1:22Speaker 1: stylized drama about the high stakes world of the NBA
- 1:25Speaker 1: from the female perspective. She has a very popular lifestyle,
- 1:30Speaker 1: health and wellness website called all Right Now, All Right
- 1:33Speaker 1: now dot com. Please welcome to money Making Conversation again
- 1:37Speaker 1: because I helped our lunch all right now dot com.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Tracy Evans, thank you for having me back on. It's
- 1:47Speaker 1: always so much fun to talk to you. What's great? Uh?
- 1:50Speaker 1: First of all, always a fan of just just you
- 1:53Speaker 1: as a mentor to to to women in general, your
- 1:56Speaker 1: leader are nothing but great. Things come up when they
- 2:00Speaker 1: about your brand and the brand that you consistently promote
- 2:03Speaker 1: and get out there with quality shows. And I think
- 2:06Speaker 1: that's really the key with you is quality, right, And
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's the point of view that you you you strive
- 2:10Speaker 1: for correct well, you know absolutely, and I was going
- 2:13Speaker 1: to say, Um, by the way, we change and we
- 2:16Speaker 1: updated the name of our show called Games People Play Now.
- 2:21Speaker 1: But yeah, but you're right because it was based on
- 2:22Speaker 1: the book Games Diva's Play right exactly exactly as editor
- 2:28Speaker 1: as My Girl Now that's my girl too. This is
- 2:31Speaker 1: the second project that we've done together. So we did
- 2:34Speaker 1: another movie for Lifetime, the one Caught with This Ring
- 2:37Speaker 1: that was based on her first book, every right, here
- 2:41Speaker 1: we go again. Um, but yeah, Rashan, You're absolutely right.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's like it's all about you know, quality control, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: know everything that you do, every project that I work on,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and you know, paying attention to detail on everything. And
- 2:57Speaker 1: so for me as a producer, sir, I'm hands on.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I'm not phoning it in. There are a lot of
- 3:03Speaker 1: people that you'll see in Hollywood that will put their
- 3:06Speaker 1: name on a show. Um, and networks will pay people
- 3:10Speaker 1: to executive produce and especially celebrities and put their name
- 3:13Speaker 1: on a show. They'll get a check, but they're not
- 3:15Speaker 1: involved in the production at all. And you know, I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: quite the opposite. I'm like, they're you know, picking wardrobe,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you know, approving hair and makeup, you know, interviewing the directors,
- 3:30Speaker 1: interviewing the department heads, you know, giving script notes, giving
- 3:35Speaker 1: editorial notes. You know. I will be involved in all
- 3:38Speaker 1: the marketing and promotion you know as well. But you know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: quality control over everything that I put my name on
- 3:44Speaker 1: is really really important because I want, I wanted to
- 3:46Speaker 1: be the best, and I want people to be excited
- 3:48Speaker 1: about what they're watching. And that's important because I'm gonna
- 3:51Speaker 1: just tell everybody that's generally what happens with all the
- 3:54Speaker 1: big producers. And she falls in loud with the big
- 3:57Speaker 1: producers or I'm talking about J. J. Abrams and all
- 3:59Speaker 1: these individuals, and that's why they tend to see the
- 4:02Speaker 1: same nothing negativebou. They will care the same producers, same
- 4:06Speaker 1: quality people on and sometimes they care the same actors
- 4:09Speaker 1: and actresses to different projects. And that's called relationship. People.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You can trust people understand your direction. That won't be
- 4:17Speaker 1: sitting over that tripping, won't come out to trailer when
- 4:19Speaker 1: they told him come out to trailer when we're talking
- 4:21Speaker 1: about I got a ride, I need black jelly beans only.
- 4:24Speaker 1: This is this is, this is why you get shows
- 4:28Speaker 1: done correctly. Did she laughing? You don't telling the truth
- 4:30Speaker 1: and now you are? You are? It's so funny. But
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know what, I am so blessed and it's like that,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you know, with this project, and you know the other
- 4:38Speaker 1: movies and shows that I've worked on, I honestly can
- 4:41Speaker 1: say I've never had like any of the diva demands
- 4:44Speaker 1: that you read about everybody. It's always one love. We're
- 4:49Speaker 1: always we operate like family, and and that's true, you
- 4:52Speaker 1: know with this cast, you know, you know, Lauren London
- 4:55Speaker 1: has become like my little sister. She's our she's our
- 4:59Speaker 1: Vanessa King. And you know Parker mckennem posey, you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: she's another beautiful actress, is one of our co leadus
- 5:06Speaker 1: and you guys are gonna remember her because she was
- 5:08Speaker 1: on the TV show My Wife and Kids and she
- 5:10Speaker 1: has a ward girl you have all grown up now
- 5:13Speaker 1: and so um Karen Obelum, you know she's our third
- 5:17Speaker 1: female lead. She's awesome. She's our little chocolate princess. Just gorgeous,
- 5:22Speaker 1: gorgeous girl and um and I love me some sharonas Jackson.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You know who's playing Marcus King are NBA baller who
- 5:30Speaker 1: you know has some some cheating issues and he's awesome.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Jackie long Um, he's playing our Marcus King's best friend
- 5:41Speaker 1: Kareem who went to college with him, and and Jackie
- 5:44Speaker 1: and I've known each other as friends for years and
- 5:46Speaker 1: we've been like dying to work together on some things.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So we're finally doing this, um. But we've got some
- 5:51Speaker 1: you know, also some great supporting cast. You know, Barry Brewers,
- 5:54Speaker 1: a stand up comedian and this is his first real
- 5:58Speaker 1: role on a TV show and he killing it. Kendall
- 6:01Speaker 1: Kendall who a lot of people may follow from social media.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He's got a huge Instagram following. This is his first
- 6:08Speaker 1: role as well. UM. And then you know Vanessa Bell
- 6:12Speaker 1: Calloway's on the show, and that's the sentiment that veteran.
- 6:18Speaker 1: So we've got a really fun cast and it's really
- 6:21Speaker 1: it shows in there. Now let me ask you this, So, uh,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Angela Burt Murray who I know many years with Essence
- 6:28Speaker 1: and then she left Essence to pursue our writing career.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And now this is the second project that you're doing
- 6:34Speaker 1: with the name of the TV shows called Games People Play,
- 6:37Speaker 1: but just derived from the book Games. Diva's Play helped me.
- 6:41Speaker 1: What is about her concept of her creative balance that
- 6:45Speaker 1: works with you? You know what both of us, Um,
- 6:49Speaker 1: you know, I'll just say both of us A are
- 6:51Speaker 1: industry veterans. Like I mean, I've known Angela for years,
- 6:55Speaker 1: you know, when she was the editor of Essence magazine.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know, Angela started those since women luncheons and you
- 7:01Speaker 1: know it was responsible for the Essence music, fast and stuff.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So you know you're talking to a really really bright visionary.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And so when Angela segued into becoming an author and stuff,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you know, she and I remained friends, you know, and
- 7:17Speaker 1: carried our friendship on into doing some business together. And
- 7:20Speaker 1: so she brought to me her book, The Vow, you know,
- 7:24Speaker 1: that she wanted to adapt into a movie, and so
- 7:27Speaker 1: The Vale became with this Ring for Lifetime, and you know,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I just a you know, she's got really strong, uh
- 7:36Speaker 1: female pieces that you know, she's she's great at the
- 7:40Speaker 1: the soapy drama, the juicy scandalous stuff in her book,
- 7:45Speaker 1: which makes delicious TV watching, you know. And so and
- 7:50Speaker 1: these characters that she creates, like are so memorable and
- 7:55Speaker 1: diabolical that they you know that they can carry on,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know, paw the book into a series and you
- 8:01Speaker 1: want to see more and more of what are these
- 8:04Speaker 1: characters going to do next? And so um. So hence,
- 8:08Speaker 1: you know, she after we did with this rain together,
- 8:10Speaker 1: She's like, Okay, let's let's do my next book. And
- 8:13Speaker 1: so I read games Diva's play on an airplane, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: you know, get it's just like such a fun dive
- 8:20Speaker 1: into this world as the n B A yeah, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, people are fascinated about what goes on behind
- 8:26Speaker 1: the scenes of the NBA, which is why you go
- 8:29Speaker 1: on social media. And you know when Carmelo and La La,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, we're going through all their drama from
- 8:37Speaker 1: the page. You you may be like a law and
- 8:39Speaker 1: Order torn from the actual page people play, yes, I know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: and then you know Vanessa and Kobe Bryant, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: so everybody's fascinated by what goes on in that world,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and that's what we're really exploring. Now. I'm talking to
- 8:55Speaker 1: j Tracy Edmunds of Edmunds Entertainment production Company right now.
- 8:59Speaker 1: We're talking about her new show that's in production on
- 9:02Speaker 1: BT I think will air The Fall of Tkay. That
- 9:07Speaker 1: means I gotta bring you back, okay, and I gotta
- 9:10Speaker 1: have banners. We'll be right back because now I got
- 9:12Speaker 1: to talk about a man who's very important to her
- 9:15Speaker 1: and very important to me. When we right back, you
- 9:17Speaker 1: may know who he already who he is already more
- 9:19Speaker 1: with money making conversation than Tracy Edmund's. Hi, this was
- 9:26Speaker 1: Sean McDonald and we're having a fantastic conversation on money
- 9:29Speaker 1: making conversations with an old friend, dear friend. One of
- 9:32Speaker 1: the top TV and film producers in Hollywood, Tracy Edmonds.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Her new show Games People Play will premiere on BT
- 9:41Speaker 1: April three. She'll be back with some banners. You know
- 9:44Speaker 1: how I am with her projects social I tied down.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It becomes it becomes my project, becomes her project, Her
- 9:50Speaker 1: project becomes my projects. That's what you do with friends.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That's called relationships. But more important that she has another relationship.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I can't say I'm jealous because I love him. I
- 9:58Speaker 1: can't say I'm jealous because he because he had locked
- 10:01Speaker 1: her that. But but I I couldn't you know it
- 10:04Speaker 1: like it was a secret. You know, it's just a
- 10:06Speaker 1: pop up. You know I got Google alerts. You know,
- 10:09Speaker 1: y'all who alert it's the real deal. Now it was time.
- 10:18Speaker 1: It was time for Sean Dion said that if you
- 10:23Speaker 1: don't know and you're lockdown in the country, don't have WiFi,
- 10:27Speaker 1: don't have a smartphone walking around with a flip phone.
- 10:30Speaker 1: They are gonna be it's gonna be official. We've all
- 10:32Speaker 1: been weighing on this. You know, you see two people
- 10:35Speaker 1: that you know, it's it's like, you know, I became
- 10:38Speaker 1: like a grandpa when y'all gonna do this? Boy, you
- 10:42Speaker 1: know she looked good. You know she's successful. You know
- 10:44Speaker 1: you look good. You know you successful. Y'all settle what
- 10:47Speaker 1: you wanna do? This? Boy? Well, you know what. I
- 10:53Speaker 1: love you for saying that, But you and and so
- 10:55Speaker 1: many other people like I wish she would see our
- 10:57Speaker 1: comments that have gone on for eight years now and
- 11:00Speaker 1: social media. It's all right. Now, when when are you
- 11:03Speaker 1: all gonna do this? Come on, now, come on. But
- 11:07Speaker 1: it's a good come on. It's a good because when
- 11:10Speaker 1: you see good people who just I mean just good
- 11:13Speaker 1: people and they just living their life right, not only
- 11:16Speaker 1: for themselves, but from a mentor stagmentary and a mentor
- 11:20Speaker 1: and standpoint that he does. I've seen him do it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I've seen you do it. And then then you realize
- 11:25Speaker 1: that you know, you want to share these qualities. You
- 11:28Speaker 1: raise your kids right, you know, you give them an
- 11:30Speaker 1: opportunity to give them a mind to beat themselves. You
- 11:32Speaker 1: don't allow them to get entrapped in the lifestyle that
- 11:35Speaker 1: you created. That's what I love about the two of you.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Of the two of you, and to see you guys
- 11:40Speaker 1: coming together as one. That's beautiful. Thank you so much.
- 11:44Speaker 1: It's I mean, both of us are in a really beautiful, happy,
- 11:48Speaker 1: happy space right now, and it's it's exciting to know that,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, I'm blessing. I get to grow old with
- 11:54Speaker 1: someone that I love and care about so much and
- 11:57Speaker 1: someone that really shares, you know, shares my value. Is
- 12:00Speaker 1: it You're gonna grow old in shape? Though you don't
- 12:02Speaker 1: say that's that's what I'm talking about. You know, it's
- 12:04Speaker 1: a different growing old. It's a lot of people growing
- 12:06Speaker 1: old out there. But y'all going on looking good. You are,
- 12:10Speaker 1: so you're so funny to say that, because I was like,
- 12:13Speaker 1: we promised each other. We're like, let's stay young as
- 12:15Speaker 1: well as you can. We're like, both of us like
- 12:18Speaker 1: we'll stay on each other. He'll be like, all right, now, baby,
- 12:20Speaker 1: you know you've got to get on a treadmail, right.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You know, you've been eating a lot of craft, but
- 12:27Speaker 1: it's all good, and I tell people that, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: it's like my wife pushes me. I pushed my wife
- 12:32Speaker 1: and it's all good. There's nothing negative is about you know.
- 12:34Speaker 1: It's like I'll wat your people. Don't let don't be
- 12:36Speaker 1: let don't be defined by your age. You know, certain
- 12:38Speaker 1: people get fifty or six days they started acting like
- 12:41Speaker 1: the fifty or six day. I think you should act
- 12:43Speaker 1: like you're supposed to be. Life is looking at the
- 12:46Speaker 1: windows of the doors and opportunities in life. Present yourself
- 12:49Speaker 1: and present yourself accordingly. I I think I think so too,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and and honestly, and this may sound very shallow, but
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep it real. Yes, I mean I think
- 12:58Speaker 1: like as a couple, I think we kind of like spouses,
- 13:01Speaker 1: kind of owe it to each other to try to
- 13:03Speaker 1: lay stay in shape, and you know, try it at
- 13:06Speaker 1: least well, you know the way you look that you
- 13:08Speaker 1: know made someone attracted to try to keep it, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: and don't don't. That's not shallow. That's the way life
- 13:16Speaker 1: is now. You know. The thing about is that you
- 13:18Speaker 1: know life, You know, you have the sixties and seventy eighty.
- 13:21Speaker 1: We're the year the click phone, when the little of
- 13:24Speaker 1: the live feeds and everything and no one should allow
- 13:27Speaker 1: that to dominate their lives. Well know that you're the
- 13:30Speaker 1: position if you want to look a certain way, don't
- 13:32Speaker 1: be ashamed to look that the peloton, which is the
- 13:35Speaker 1: which is that bike with the the subscription? That is
- 13:39Speaker 1: so cool. It's so cool and it's explosive because it's
- 13:42Speaker 1: tied to interaction, it's tied to competition, it's tied to
- 13:45Speaker 1: do I want to look like somebody in China, don't
- 13:47Speaker 1: look like somebody in France. That is all about. What
- 13:50Speaker 1: the success of that whole concept is is that you
- 13:53Speaker 1: can train with who are somebody in Brazil? You can
- 13:56Speaker 1: train with that person on your bike, And that's the
- 13:58Speaker 1: beauty of I'm gonna make a transition to your lifestyle
- 14:01Speaker 1: site all right now dot Com because when you launched
- 14:04Speaker 1: it in January last year, you had these ideas. You
- 14:07Speaker 1: were pulling all these partners together, you know, greeting all
- 14:10Speaker 1: these these lanes of exposure. Tell us about all right
- 14:13Speaker 1: now dot Com? Why why you launched it and where
- 14:16Speaker 1: is it? Where it is right now in your courage stage. Well,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know what, And Marishan, you're so smooth with the transitions,
- 14:22Speaker 1: by the way, because it does transition because we're talking
- 14:26Speaker 1: about looking good, but you know, looking good equates with
- 14:29Speaker 1: feeling good, and so feeling good and being healthy is
- 14:33Speaker 1: really first and foremost, and that's really you know, the
- 14:37Speaker 1: mission of all right Now is to get people feeling good,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, because you know their body is good, and
- 14:45Speaker 1: they're living their best life and they're staying healthy and
- 14:48Speaker 1: they're making healthy lifestyle decisions. Because you know, we talked
- 14:52Speaker 1: about this before, the lifestyle decisions that you make now
- 14:57Speaker 1: really correlate to your health in the future. And you know,
- 15:01Speaker 1: when you're eating right and you're exercising and everything, all
- 15:05Speaker 1: of those decisions really help prevent disease, you know, and
- 15:09Speaker 1: help slow down the aging process and and make you
- 15:12Speaker 1: feel better every day when you wake up, and make
- 15:15Speaker 1: you feel better every day when you're at work. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: so what I'm really trying to do with all right
- 15:19Speaker 1: Now is really share important lifestyle tools that people can
- 15:23Speaker 1: use so that they can like feel their best and
- 15:26Speaker 1: be their best and really kind of keep diseases and
- 15:30Speaker 1: health issues away. We're just proving to be the most
- 15:33Speaker 1: the favorite uh destination on your website right now All
- 15:37Speaker 1: right Now dot com. Well, you know what, um a
- 15:40Speaker 1: lot of stuff. A lot of the articles that I
- 15:42Speaker 1: write myself, you know, for whatever reason, probably because it
- 15:46Speaker 1: is my my website, attract the clicks or the videos
- 15:49Speaker 1: that I and that I do, or even like I
- 15:51Speaker 1: even post you know, interviews press interviews that I do
- 15:54Speaker 1: because I talk about a lot of lifestyle issues, like
- 15:56Speaker 1: I'm doing right now with you, and so I'll post
- 15:58Speaker 1: the interviews and stuff on the website. So I think
- 16:01Speaker 1: a lot of people are curious to hear what I
- 16:05Speaker 1: have to say from a testimonial space, and so like
- 16:09Speaker 1: they'll want to know, like, well, what are you doing,
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know, to live your best life? You know, what
- 16:13Speaker 1: are you doing, what are your your your daily routines,
- 16:16Speaker 1: you know, what are you doing you know, towards a
- 16:18Speaker 1: healthy relationship? And so the articles that I kind of
- 16:22Speaker 1: write in the videos I do myself, probably I would say,
- 16:25Speaker 1: attract the most clicks and stuff. But you know, but
- 16:28Speaker 1: it's nice because you can kind of like through analytics,
- 16:31Speaker 1: you can kind of see that there's then there's links
- 16:33Speaker 1: from you know, from one of my articles to another
- 16:35Speaker 1: article with a similar you know, subject matter and stuff.
- 16:38Speaker 1: But um, it's really it's it's creating like a community
- 16:43Speaker 1: and a movement because even like you know, Rashaana post
- 16:46Speaker 1: a lot of yoga you know, videos and yoga articles,
- 16:49Speaker 1: and I've had so many people that have written to
- 16:52Speaker 1: me to say, hey, you inspired me to do yoga
- 16:55Speaker 1: and and it's changed my life, you know. And and
- 16:58Speaker 1: that's what this website is all about, is really getting
- 17:01Speaker 1: people to kind of gravitate towards a healthy lifestyle. And
- 17:05Speaker 1: and even if I change one life, you know, like
- 17:07Speaker 1: mission accomplished. And that's why I was told you. You know,
- 17:10Speaker 1: my staff reached out to you for January to start
- 17:13Speaker 1: making it an annual or a monthly part of my
- 17:15Speaker 1: newsletter because of the fact that you know, a pre
- 17:18Speaker 1: dominant or my followers or female and so over two thirty,
