Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz the Weekend Review,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you as always, and here are the
- 0:06Speaker 1: big stories that you may have missed that we talked
- 0:09Speaker 1: about this week. First, up, Zelenski comes to White House
- 0:12Speaker 1: and leaves empty handed.
- 0:13Speaker 2: So where's he?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Run to Europe and is begging now for support? So
- 0:18Speaker 1: what does this mean for American taxpayers? We break it
- 0:20Speaker 1: all down for you in just a moment. Also, Democrats
- 0:24Speaker 1: decide to stand for nothing during the Joint session of Congress,
- 0:28Speaker 1: including supporting us getting a terrorist back to this country.
- 0:33Speaker 1: They didn't stand when there was a young man becoming
- 0:35Speaker 1: a Secret Service agent who is fighting for his life
- 0:39Speaker 1: with cancer. So is there anything that Democrats would actually
- 0:41Speaker 1: stand for that most Americans would will break that down
- 0:44Speaker 1: as well. And finally, almost one hundred known terrorists, those
- 0:49Speaker 1: that are on the Terrorists watch List or have direct
- 0:51Speaker 1: connections to terraces, were purposely let go into the United
- 0:55Speaker 1: States of American twenty twenty four, and the Biden administration
- 1:00Speaker 1: knew about all of them and could have stopped it.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So where are they now? We'll break that down for
- 1:05Speaker 1: you as well. It's the Weekend Review and it starts
- 1:08Speaker 1: right now, which brings us to.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Now where we are. And look, you've got.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Uk in France and Ukraine that have agreed to quote
- 1:19Speaker 1: work on a ceasefire plan and try to get I
- 1:21Speaker 1: guess Zolensky back into a conversation with the President of
- 1:26Speaker 1: the United States of America. They're having this big meeting
- 1:30Speaker 1: over in Europe. A lot of different countries are there.
- 1:33Speaker 1: The summit includes France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Canada, Finland, Sweden,
- 1:41Speaker 1: Chez Republic in Romania, the Turkish Foreign Minister, the NATO
- 1:45Speaker 1: Security General, and the Presidence of the European Commission and
- 1:49Speaker 1: the European Council will also attend. Now you notice I
- 1:52Speaker 1: didn't say the United States of America. This is part
- 1:54Speaker 1: of I think the most interesting part of President Trump's
- 1:57Speaker 1: meeting was Zelenski.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's like, look, thank it's for granted.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You're come in here, you lecture us, you have no
- 2:02Speaker 1: plan for peace, You clearly aren't here for peace.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Good luck. And now all of these.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Other leaders are having to step up and say, okay,
- 2:11Speaker 1: let us try to help you fix this so that
- 2:14Speaker 1: we can save your country.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Because he did so much harm to Ukraine.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And look, I say great, if Europe wants to step
- 2:22Speaker 3: up and fund the war for another year, knock yourselves out, guys,
- 2:27Speaker 3: like our checkbook is done, but it is striking. It's
- 2:31Speaker 3: an indication of just how disastrous Zelensky's meeting was that
- 2:37Speaker 3: he immediately ran to the United Kingdom to France to
- 2:40Speaker 3: meet with the King of England. All right, here's one
- 2:43Speaker 3: story from NPR. UK Prime minister unveil steps towards a
- 2:48Speaker 3: Ukraine peace deal urges US cooperation. Here's what NPR reports
- 2:51Speaker 3: quote British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer on Sunday laid out
- 2:54Speaker 3: of framework for a plan to end Russia's war in Ukraine,
- 2:57Speaker 3: one where Europe will lead the charge for securing peace yay,
- 3:01Speaker 3: while still relying heavily on US backing boo. The proposal
- 3:06Speaker 3: is the result of emergency talks held by European leaders
- 3:09Speaker 3: in London following President Trump's heated exchange with Ukrainian President
- 3:14Speaker 3: of Vladimir Zelenski at the end at the White House
- 3:17Speaker 3: last week. Over the weekend, leaders from over a dozen
- 3:20Speaker 3: countries got together to discuss a roadmap for peace and
- 3:23Speaker 3: security for Ukraine as the country faces its third year
- 3:25Speaker 3: of war with Russia. The emergency summit was also aimed
- 3:28Speaker 3: at working to preserve Ukraine's relationship with the US and
- 3:31Speaker 3: Americans involvement in the war overseas. Starmer said that Europe
- 3:35Speaker 3: must do the quote heavy lifting to secure a lasting
- 3:38Speaker 3: peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, and that the UK
- 3:41Speaker 3: should lead the front. He emphasized that quote this effort
- 3:45Speaker 3: must have strong US backing, which, if he means more
- 3:49Speaker 3: hundreds of billions of dollars, the answer is no, thank you.
- 3:53Speaker 3: But he continues quote. Through my discussions over recent days,
- 3:56Speaker 3: we've agreed that the UK, France and others will work
- 3:58Speaker 3: with Ukraine on a plan to stop the fighting. Starmar
- 4:00Speaker 3: Center at the press conference on Sunday. Then we'll discuss
- 4:03Speaker 3: that plan with the United States and take it forward together.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Now it's interesting to do so. Starmar valve. The United
- 4:10Speaker 3: Kingdom would ramp up at support for Ukraine that included
- 4:14Speaker 3: a loan of what do you think.
- 4:16Speaker 2: A lot of money?
- 4:17Speaker 4: Right?
- 4:18Speaker 3: What do you think pick a number?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Oh gosh, see, this is when you get me in trouble,
- 4:23Speaker 1: because I'm going to either be way too low or
- 4:25Speaker 1: way too high.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Let's call it.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Fifty million, so higher than that, so you're even more pessimistic. Okay,
- 4:35Speaker 3: that includes a loan of two point twenty six billion
- 4:38Speaker 3: British points, which is two point eight four billion dollars.
- 4:42Speaker 3: So look, two point eight four billion dollars, that's real money,
- 4:45Speaker 3: except for the fact that the United States has spent
- 4:47Speaker 3: about one hundred and seventy five billion dollars on Ukraine.
- 4:51Speaker 3: That's part of the fundamental imbalance there.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well, look, I love the breath thing about finding money,
- 4:57Speaker 1: like you go back to Trump saying like, we're no
- 4:59Speaker 1: long just an open blank check. There was also something
- 5:03Speaker 1: else that was said that Europe quote needs to step
- 5:05Speaker 1: in and release some two hundred billion euros it's two
- 5:08Speaker 1: hundred and seven billion in quote seized Russian assets to
- 5:13Speaker 1: help fund the war efforts. So all of a sudden,
- 5:16Speaker 1: they're now saying, well, we got two hundred billion or
- 5:18Speaker 1: two hundred and seven billion in US dollars two hundred
- 5:21Speaker 1: billion euros of seize Russian assets. Maybe we should use
- 5:25Speaker 1: that money instead of our own money to help them
- 5:27Speaker 1: in Ukraine. And I'm like, wow, you turn off this
- 5:30Speaker 1: picket in America A brilliant, simple plan and all of
- 5:34Speaker 1: a sudden, they find two hundred billion euros sitting around,
- 5:37Speaker 1: They're like, okay, maybe we can give that to them.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Look, I'm all for the Europeans stepping in and
- 5:41Speaker 3: doing everything they can. If they want to do that,
- 5:44Speaker 3: knock yourself out. They're welcome to spend their money, but
- 5:47Speaker 3: we're not the welfare provider for the world. And to
- 5:52Speaker 3: be clear, why are we borrowing when we got thirty
- 5:55Speaker 3: six trillion dollars in debt? Why are we borrowing money
- 5:57Speaker 3: from China to give it to other countries. That makes
- 6:01Speaker 3: no sense, and it is an interesting shift.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Look, I will say one of the frustrating things about
- 6:09Speaker 3: this meeting last week in the Oval is the meeting
- 6:13Speaker 3: was there to sign an agreement, an agreement that had
- 6:15Speaker 3: been negotiated ahead of time. And that agreement was an
- 6:20Speaker 3: agreement where Ukraine would give the United States a substantial
- 6:24Speaker 3: interest in its rare earth minerals and valuable resources to
- 6:28Speaker 3: pay back the one hundred and seventy five billion dollars
- 6:31Speaker 3: we've given them. That agreement made a lot of sense.
- 6:33Speaker 3: That agreement was pre negotiated. I think the White House
- 6:37Speaker 3: thought Zelensky was going to show up sign the agreement
- 6:39Speaker 3: and leave. He didn't. Instead, he put on this performance.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And I actually want you to listen to this exchange
- 6:48Speaker 3: on CNN because it's a striking exchange. The first speaker
- 6:52Speaker 3: of Scott Jennings, who, by the way, Scott Jennings is
- 6:55Speaker 3: doing a phenomenal job on CNN being a voice of
- 6:58Speaker 3: reason and common sense fighting against a bunch of numb
- 7:02Speaker 3: nuts and and and left wing comies. He's really doing
- 7:06Speaker 3: an effective job. And and he's in this case talking
- 7:10Speaker 3: with with Josh Rogan. Josh Rogan is is a very
- 7:13Speaker 3: smart reporter for for Washington Post Intelligence. He does foreign policy.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But but look, Josh Rogan and and and Scott Jennings
- 7:23Speaker 3: do not often agree. Listen to this back and forth
- 7:26Speaker 3: as they're analyzing what happened with Zelensky in the Oval office.
- 7:30Speaker 5: I don't know if he needs an apology. He needs
- 7:33Speaker 5: Zelensky to recognize the position that he's in. We'll see
- 7:36Speaker 5: you as what where their patron. We're their best hope
- 7:39Speaker 5: for the killing to stop and for them to emerge
- 7:41Speaker 5: from this sovereign and prosperous and we're also their best
- 7:44Speaker 5: hope as a business partner. I mean all Zelensky had
- 7:47Speaker 5: to do today was put on a tie, show up, smile,
- 7:52Speaker 5: say thank you, sign the papers, and have lunch.
- 7:55Speaker 2: That's it.
- 7:56Speaker 5: And he couldn't do that. And this followed ten days
- 7:59Speaker 5: of being difficult in private and now one day of
- 8:02Speaker 5: being stupid and public. That this did not have to
- 8:07Speaker 5: go down this way. And however you feel about why
- 8:10Speaker 5: it started, why it's going on, who's right and who's wrong.
- 8:14Speaker 5: We can help them in this and come out okay
- 8:16Speaker 5: on the other side, and he's making it hard.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Now.
- 8:18Speaker 5: First of all, I can't believe I'm about to say this,
- 8:20Speaker 5: but I actually agree with Scott and everything that he
- 8:23Speaker 5: said was basically right.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Wow.
- 8:25Speaker 6: I know I'm going to get killed on social media
- 8:27Speaker 6: for admitting that, But.
- 8:29Speaker 5: So I have a short answer on this. And so
- 8:34Speaker 5: the short answer is the Trump administration believes that if
- 8:37Speaker 5: Ukraine goes into business with the United States, that in
- 8:40Speaker 5: and of itself is a security guarantee. If if your
- 8:44Speaker 5: interests become our interests, we're going to be interested in
- 8:47Speaker 5: making sure our interests are secure. So it would have
- 8:49Speaker 5: been wise for him to understand the economic deal, the
- 8:52Speaker 5: mineral deal is a security guarantee in and of itself,
- 8:56Speaker 5: and he lost sight of that today in the arguments premedity.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:00Speaker 5: I think Zelenski misplayed it in the room and you
- 9:02Speaker 5: can and we could disagree about JD. Vance's position on
- 9:05Speaker 5: it or agree on it. But either way, Zolensky certainly
- 9:09Speaker 5: had been briefed on what the right way to handle
- 9:12Speaker 5: this was. And all he had to do was walk
- 9:14Speaker 5: in there and say, thank you, I'm really grateful to
- 9:17Speaker 5: be here. We want to be partners with the United States.
- 9:20Speaker 5: We're grateful for your leadership. Where's the papers? And what
- 9:23Speaker 5: are we having for lunch? That's all he had to do.
- 9:26Speaker 5: And look, the posturing doesn't have to occur now if
- 9:30Speaker 5: if he is serious about wanting peace and ending this war,
- 9:33Speaker 5: you don't have to keep posturing as a tough guy.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Everybody knows you're tough, all right. The Ukrainians are tough,
- 9:38Speaker 5: they're brave, they're fighting a much larger country. Everybody knows.
- 9:41Speaker 5: The question for Zelenski is can you take off the
- 9:43Speaker 5: military uniform and put on the uniform of diplomacy.
- 9:46Speaker 1: He failed to test it, yeh, he failed diplomacy that
- 9:49Speaker 1: test today.
- 9:50Speaker 2: It was not a hard meeting.
- 9:52Speaker 1: This wasn't something that was gonna It was harder to
- 9:55Speaker 1: screw it up than it was to get it right.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Look, he needed mostly to be saying sir, yes, sir,
- 10:02Speaker 3: thank you, sir. May I have another it? And Scott
- 10:08Speaker 3: is right. Look, this deal on minerals had the advantage
- 10:13Speaker 3: for Ukraine of having the Trump administration being an integally
- 10:18Speaker 3: involved economic partner with Ukraine. That's really beneficial. And the
- 10:25Speaker 3: alternative is very different, which is without the United States,
- 10:32Speaker 3: Ukraine's prospects are really dim. And so if you know
- 10:38Speaker 3: that your prospects for success are miserably sad unless President
- 10:45Speaker 3: Trump supports you, in what universe do you come in
- 10:48Speaker 3: and start attacking and insulting him?
- 10:50Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 10:53Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 10:55Speaker 1: from earlier this week.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Now onto story number two.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I want to go back to one other point that
- 11:02Speaker 1: we mentioned earlier, but I think it's important to kind
- 11:05Speaker 1: of expand on it. And it was a shocking moment
- 11:09Speaker 1: of just either completely out of touch or this Democratic Party,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I guess you could just say, is in a sense
- 11:17Speaker 1: just completely lost. You had not a single Democrat applaud
- 11:22Speaker 1: Peyton McNabb, who suffered brain damage after a volleyball spiked
- 11:27Speaker 1: by a trans person, a man that acting like a woman, ended.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Her hopes of a college career.
- 11:34Speaker 1: That's how significant the injury was, and it made her retire,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and also it took potentially like a scout, changed her
- 11:43Speaker 1: life forever, and they couldn't even clap for her.
- 11:48Speaker 2: No, not a Democrat clap for not one.
- 11:51Speaker 3: And by the way, just this past week, every single
- 11:54Speaker 3: Democrat in the Senate voted against protecting girls from boys
- 12:00Speaker 3: competing in sports, every one of them.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And you know in the campaign.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Listen, in my reelection campaign, Colin all Read claims, I
- 12:08Speaker 3: don't support boys playing in girls sports. Well, every Senate
- 12:12Speaker 3: and except the fact that he voted for it over
- 12:14Speaker 3: and over and over again. Every single Senate Democrat when
- 12:17Speaker 3: they're on reelection campaigns, they tell the voters, I don't
- 12:19Speaker 3: support boys and girls sports, and yet every single one
- 12:23Speaker 3: of them just voted for it, and not a one
- 12:24Speaker 3: of them applauded. I mean, I mean, it's the simple
- 12:27Speaker 3: reality of how extreme their party is.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Now.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I will tell you one thing that that was particularly
- 12:34Speaker 3: meaningful to me was was all the Texans whom President
- 12:39Speaker 3: Trump honored a night, including Alexis Nungary, the mom of Joscelyn.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Now.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Alexis was going to be my guest tonight. Every senator
- 12:47Speaker 3: gets one guest, and I had invited Alexis. She was
- 12:50Speaker 3: coming up as my guest, and then the President invited her,
- 12:53Speaker 3: so she went and she was sitting with Melania Trump.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I was really grateful for the for her being invited
- 13:02Speaker 3: by the President to come there. And then right next
- 13:05Speaker 3: to Malania Trump was Elliston Barry. And Elliston Berry is
- 13:08Speaker 3: someone also another Texan who was the inspiration for the
- 13:12Speaker 3: Take It Down Act. So, Elliston Barry is a fifteen
- 13:15Speaker 3: year old girl from North Texas from Aledo, who when
- 13:19Speaker 3: she was fourteen and a freshman in high school, a boy,
- 13:22Speaker 3: a classmate of hers, took an innocent social media picture
- 13:27Speaker 3: of her and used artificial intelligence to create a deep
- 13:31Speaker 3: fake naked image of her that appeared to be real
- 13:36Speaker 3: but it was fake, and then sent it to her classmates.
- 13:39Speaker 3: And she was the inspiration for my legislation to Take
- 13:42Speaker 3: It Down Act, which passed the Senate unanimously.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And by the way, how many times have you been
- 13:49Speaker 1: involved in legislation that was passed unanimously.
- 13:52Speaker 2: In your career in the Senate.
- 13:54Speaker 3: A lot of times I've passed one hundred and one
- 13:58Speaker 3: different pieces of legislation into law. A number of them
- 14:01Speaker 3: were unanimous. The Senate off and if you do the work,
- 14:03Speaker 3: you can bring people together and and pass something. And actually,
- 14:07Speaker 3: just yesterday, the first Lady, Milania Trump came to the Capitol,
- 14:11Speaker 3: first time she has his first lady the second term
- 14:14Speaker 3: uh supporting the Take It Down Act, and we did
- 14:16Speaker 3: a round table, which we're gonna we're gonna talk about
- 14:18Speaker 3: significantly more on Friday's pod. But we did a round
- 14:21Speaker 3: table where Milania Trump heard from Elliston Berry, heard from
- 14:24Speaker 3: other victims of non consensual intimate images, and and called
- 14:28Speaker 3: on the House to pass the Take It Down Act.
- 14:31Speaker 3: And President Trump tonight called in the House to pass
- 14:33Speaker 3: the date Take It Down Act.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So I was really glad.
- 14:36Speaker 3: The two people directly next to to Malania Trump to
- 14:39Speaker 3: her left, where two Texans Elliston Berry and Alexis Nungary
- 14:44Speaker 3: and and and that made me very happy.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It was that that may have been one of the
- 14:48Speaker 1: best parts of the night. Let's talk about what this
- 14:51Speaker 1: looks like moving forward. I think the President's speech is
- 14:55Speaker 1: going to play very well with the American people. I
- 14:58Speaker 1: think it's going to help with momentum move moving forward.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I also do think that the American people, in the
- 15:03Speaker 1: way they were watching this on TV saw the the
- 15:08Speaker 1: shocking moments when they wouldn't stand for children that were,
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know, murdered by illegal immigrants, their families, police officers
- 15:16Speaker 1: dyeing in the lie of doody duty.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It was on the list. I mean, you look at
- 15:21Speaker 2: all of this.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Bringing an American hostag home from Russia, by the way,
- 15:24Speaker 1: they wouldn't stand for that. That was another moment we
- 15:26Speaker 1: left at earlier. Were you shocked by that as well?
- 15:30Speaker 2: Well?
- 15:30Speaker 3: And you and I covered Mark Fogel coming back. We
- 15:33Speaker 3: covered that on the podcast when had happened. That was
- 15:39Speaker 3: one of the multiple times I turned to the folks
- 15:41Speaker 3: around me, and I'm like, what the hell is wrong
- 15:43Speaker 3: with these people, Like, like, how do you not this
- 15:46Speaker 3: is not partisan? This is not I get that they
- 15:49Speaker 3: don't cheer for, you know, conservative ideas because they're all
- 15:54Speaker 3: wacko lefties, but how do you not cheer for things
- 15:58Speaker 3: that are just unambiguously good good And it's today's Democrat party,
- 16:03Speaker 3: it's accommodation. They become the party of hate and rage,
- 16:06Speaker 3: and they're in denial. They don't know how to respond
- 16:10Speaker 3: to this election other than to fume and glare. And
- 16:15Speaker 3: I got to say, if you're an elected Democrat, how
- 16:19Speaker 3: do you think this is a good message to the
- 16:22Speaker 3: American people? We hate everyone and everything that's the Democrats like.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't get that. No, I don't either. So what
- 16:30Speaker 2: happens now? This is my prediction.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I think the presence approval rating is going to stay
- 16:36Speaker 1: solid and in certain categories, support on certain issues will
- 16:40Speaker 1: actually rise coming out of this state of the Union.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I think this is going to continue the momentum on
- 16:46Speaker 1: on things like Doge and even in some of the
- 16:50Speaker 1: issues that we're talking about that are in tough ones,
- 16:53Speaker 1: whether it's dealing with Mexico and cartels or tariffs, or
- 16:56Speaker 1: Canada and Fetanohl. The list goes on and on. I
- 16:59Speaker 1: think the same thing on Ukraine funding. I think this
- 17:03Speaker 1: could catapult him to even greater near term success. That's
- 17:08Speaker 1: a lot of political capital that obviously you want your
- 17:11Speaker 1: your prediction.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Look, I agree with you. I think the American people
- 17:15Speaker 3: are going to be happy with this speech. They're going
- 17:18Speaker 3: to be happy with the results. The American people are
- 17:20Speaker 3: happy with successes for America, and we're getting on the border,
- 17:25Speaker 3: seeing illegal immigrations and illegal boarding crossings drop over ninety percent.
- 17:29Speaker 3: That's an unambiguous victory. On energy, Seeing energy production going up,
- 17:35Speaker 3: seeing regulations being repealed, seeing wasteful spending being eliminated, those
- 17:40Speaker 3: are unambiguous victories. In terms of jobs, he went through
- 17:43Speaker 3: the investments, the investments on new investments, whether from Oracle
- 17:48Speaker 3: or Apple, or car companies bringing new factories here. Those
- 17:52Speaker 3: are big wins. Those are the sorts of things. Those
- 17:55Speaker 3: are the sorts of things. Frankly, when Joe Biden talked
- 17:57Speaker 3: about if you know, he had crats and their speeches
- 18:00Speaker 3: would talk about a new factory, and you know what,
- 18:03Speaker 3: the Republicans would all stand and cheer, because, hey, a
- 18:05Speaker 3: new factory in America is a good thing, and we
- 18:08Speaker 3: even if we don't support many, if not most, of
- 18:11Speaker 3: Biden and Obama's policies, we cheer for the American people.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I think that the President's message was really strong, but
- 18:20Speaker 3: I also think the contrast with the Democrats made it
- 18:23Speaker 3: even stronger, and so I think this was a good
- 18:28Speaker 3: night for America, but not a good night for today's
- 18:32Speaker 3: Democrat Party.
- 18:34Speaker 1: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 18:36Speaker 1: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 18:39Speaker 1: dow the podcasts from earlier this week to hear the
- 18:41Speaker 1: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 18:45Speaker 1: story number three of the week. You may have missed
- 18:47Speaker 1: almost one hundred terrace linked migrants released in twenty twenty four.
- 18:52Speaker 1: The part that I think we really should hone in
- 18:55Speaker 1: on is this wasn't an accident. It wasn't like a
- 18:59Speaker 1: misappropriate of paperwork. This was done on purpose.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Yeah, they knew, they had full knowledge. And look, don't
- 19:06Speaker 3: take my word for it. Listen to Tulsea Gabbart and
- 19:09Speaker 3: what she said this week down in Texas to Eagle Pass.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Give a listen.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Jumpe has been in office. Really what you're seeing here today.
- 19:17Speaker 4: And what you'll continue to see as a unified effort
- 19:19Speaker 4: across President Trump's National security team, the Department of Homeland
- 19:23Speaker 4: Security towards our mission, which is to ensure a safe, free,
- 19:27Speaker 4: and prosperous society for Americans. As Director of National Intelligence,
- 19:32Speaker 4: there are a.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Number of areas where we are focused.
- 19:35Speaker 4: The President talked about in his speech over twenty one
- 19:38Speaker 4: million people have come across our borders illegally under Joe
- 19:41Speaker 4: Biden's administration. There are many of them that we don't
- 19:44Speaker 4: know who they are. They have not been vetted, we
- 19:47Speaker 4: don't know where they are. I'll give you one quick
- 19:49Speaker 4: example of one of the problems that we are getting
- 19:52Speaker 4: after from Central Asia. There were over four thousand people
- 19:55Speaker 4: who came across our borders using an ISIS affiliated network work.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Our National counter Terrorism Center went through and identified those individuals.
- 20:05Speaker 4: There were hundreds of them who were either known terrorists
- 20:08Speaker 4: or associated with known terrorists. That information was provided to
- 20:12Speaker 4: the Biden administration.
- 20:13Speaker 6: You may remember in some of the news.
- 20:15Speaker 4: A little over one hundred of those people were arrested
- 20:18Speaker 4: in twenty twenty four. Of those who were arrested, only
- 20:23Speaker 4: eight were either deported or remained in custody.
- 20:26Speaker 6: Only eight.
- 20:27Speaker 4: The rest of them were released back into our country.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Where are they, what are they doing? What may they
- 20:33Speaker 4: be plotting? This is just the beginning.
- 20:36Speaker 6: There are many many areas that we need to.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Stay very focused on, working with Department of Homeland Security,
- 20:41Speaker 4: working with the FBI to ensure that we're keeping the
- 20:44Speaker 4: American people safe. Our counter Terrorism Center is working on
- 20:48Speaker 4: making sure that we have that single source for vetting
- 20:51Speaker 4: so that we can figure out who is actually in
- 20:53Speaker 4: our country and identify those who pose a threat and
- 20:57Speaker 4: get them removed. The President's designation of the the cartels
- 21:00Speaker 4: as foreign terrorists organizations falls directly into this, especially as
- 21:04Speaker 4: we're seeing some of the tactics that these cartels are
- 21:06Speaker 4: using reflect some of the tactics that we've seen used
- 21:09Speaker 4: by Islamus terrafs in countries that many of us have
- 21:12Speaker 4: served in overseas.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Our mission is very clear.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Our objective is to keep the American people safe. I'm
- 21:19Speaker 4: grateful to be a part of this team that President
- 21:21Speaker 4: Trump has assembled to accomplish that mission.
- 21:23Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I love the focus.
- 21:26Speaker 1: The Vice President was down there as well the team,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and you know, you compare that to the borders are
- 21:30Speaker 1: who never decided to go to Eagle Pass, didn't want
- 21:32Speaker 1: anything to do with it. And now we understand again
- 21:35Speaker 1: more why because they knew they were doing all of
- 21:38Speaker 1: the things that they were doing to put America's national
- 21:40Speaker 1: security at risk.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's worth really focusing on the facts that
- 21:45Speaker 3: Telsea Gabbert is now the Director of National Intelligence. What
- 21:49Speaker 3: she said, she said from Central Asia, there were more
- 21:52Speaker 3: than four thousand people who came across our borders using
- 21:57Speaker 3: an ISIS affiliated network. So isis, you know, kind of
- 22:02Speaker 3: bad guys, terrorists who've killed lots and lots of Americans.
- 22:05Speaker 3: They're smuggling over four thousand people illegally into this country
- 22:09Speaker 3: from Central Asia. By the way, Central Asia includes multiple
- 22:13Speaker 3: Islamic countries like Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, where radical Islamic terrorism
- 22:18Speaker 3: is a real threat. And Tulsi said, the National counter
- 22:23Speaker 3: Terrorism Center went through and identified those over four thousand individuals,
- 22:28Speaker 3: and there were hundreds of them, hundreds of the word
- 22:31Speaker 3: she used, who were either known terrorists or associated with
- 22:36Speaker 3: known terrorists. And then she says, quote that information was
- 22:42Speaker 3: provided to the Biden administration, So the Biden administration knew
- 22:47Speaker 3: hundreds of either known terrorists or people associated with known
- 22:51Speaker 3: terrorists were smuggled into America illegally by an ISIS affiliated network.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And then she goes on to say, in twenty twenty four,
- 23:01Speaker 3: a little over one hundred of those terror leaked people
- 23:06Speaker 3: were arrested. And then the shocking thing of the little
- 23:10Speaker 3: more than one hundred, only eight were either deported or
- 23:16Speaker 3: remained in custody only eight quote the rest of them
- 23:22Speaker 3: were released back into our country. So this is not
- 23:26Speaker 3: illegal aliens crossing the border that get apprehended. They let
- 23:29Speaker 3: them go, but they don't know their terrorists. These are
- 23:32Speaker 3: people they know are either themselves known terrorist or associated
- 23:38Speaker 3: with known terrorists. They also know that they were smuggled
- 23:41Speaker 3: illegally into this country by an ISIS affiliated network and
- 23:44Speaker 3: they were arrested again. And yet over ninety of them,
- 23:50Speaker 3: nearly one hundred the Biden administration released into America into
- 23:56Speaker 3: your community, into my community in a single year. This
- 24:00Speaker 3: is in twenty twenty four. That is stunning. And I
- 24:05Speaker 3: got to tell you, bet, I've never heard a single
- 24:06Speaker 3: Democrat give any justification for what is just idiocy. Let's
- 24:14Speaker 3: release terror linked illegal immigrants into America.
- 24:17Speaker 2: What possibly could go wrong with that?
- 24:19Speaker 1: When you look at the and you sometimes it's just
- 24:22Speaker 1: people are stupid, is it? But it also could be
- 24:25Speaker 1: more I could be more sinister than that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I guess.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I look at this, I'm like they knew it, did
- 24:31Speaker 1: They just not want to admit that the open border
- 24:35Speaker 1: would allow for so many bad actors to come across,
- 24:39Speaker 1: with many that may just be coming across right for
- 24:41Speaker 1: a better life, a job if you put it in
- 24:43Speaker 1: the best like possible center. And so they knew that
- 24:47Speaker 1: if they admitted they caught these people and then they
- 24:49Speaker 1: didn't release them and they actually prosecute them or sent
- 24:52Speaker 1: them back to their country, there's a lot of options
- 24:55Speaker 1: here that was going to sign a huge light on
- 24:57Speaker 1: the problem. So therefore, hey, we can't admit it's happening.
- 25:00Speaker 1: So we're just gonna go with this anarchy and in
- 25:02Speaker 1: Sandy till the end.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Look, bet, I really don't know. You know, I had
- 25:08Speaker 3: My very first boss had a phrase he used to say.
- 25:10Speaker 3: He said, never attribute to incompetence and never attribute to malice.
- 25:14Speaker 3: What can be explained with incompetence. And look, I think
- 25:18Speaker 3: there's a lot of wisdom to that that. A lot
- 25:20Speaker 3: of times people are just they just do dumb things.
- 25:24Speaker 3: That being said, listen, I do I believe the Biden
- 25:29Speaker 3: administration wants terrorists to attack America? No, But then why
- 25:34Speaker 3: the hell would you release these people? And I guess
- 25:37Speaker 3: the only plausible explanation I can come up with is
- 25:41Speaker 3: there such radicals on open borders. They're so committed to
- 25:45Speaker 3: their open borders because they want millions and millions of
- 25:49Speaker 3: illegal immigrants because they can. They view them as future
- 25:51Speaker 3: Democrat voters. That they're just deportation was off the table.
- 25:55Speaker 3: They're not in that business. They don't do it. I
- 25:58Speaker 3: don't know. Listen, this is related to a story we
- 26:01Speaker 3: covered in a pod a couple of weeks ago. We're
- 26:04Speaker 3: in Massachusetts right now. They're taking violent child abusers, child molesters,
- 26:11Speaker 3: people who are raping children, who are illegal aliens, and
- 26:15Speaker 3: even with violent child rapists, the Massachusetts authorities are releasing
- 26:20Speaker 3: them rather than give them over to Ice to be deported. Now, look,
- 26:24Speaker 3: reasonable people, you could have an argument about what should
- 26:27Speaker 3: be the level of illegal immigration. You could. There are
- 26:29Speaker 3: all sorts of things you'd have reasonable disagreements on. But
- 26:32Speaker 3: I mean, Ben explained to me why someone says, you
- 26:35Speaker 3: know what we need more of, We need more child
- 26:39Speaker 3: rapists in our community. Let's let these go. Like I
- 26:43Speaker 3: my brain cannot wrap itself around those repeated actions. And
- 26:48Speaker 3: yet that's what's happening. This is the same sort of thing.
- 26:50Speaker 3: You apprehend someone who's a known terrorist who was smuggled
- 26:54Speaker 3: into America bi ISIS, and you say, oh, let's let
- 26:56Speaker 3: them go, Like I don't know, you.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Know, The poll numbers that came out from the president
- 27:02Speaker 1: speech the other night were truly incredible. Seventy six percent
- 27:06Speaker 1: approved of Trump's address to Congress. That is a massive
- 27:10Speaker 1: win for the president. You look at some of the
- 27:12Speaker 1: other ones and poll numbers. Not only that, ninety one
- 27:15Speaker 1: percent said Trump spent time on issues they cared about. Yeah,
- 27:20Speaker 1: that is a home run seventy one percent. So the
- 27:23Speaker 1: speech was quote inspiring, and sixty two percent said it
- 27:27Speaker 1: was unifying. And they said that this speech sixty eight percent,
- 27:32Speaker 1: so they felt hopeful fifty four percent, so they felt
- 27:36Speaker 1: proud of the country from the speech.
- 27:38Speaker 2: And when you look at these numbers, even on.
- 27:41Speaker 1: The issue of inflation, where Democrats leaned in heavy over
- 27:44Speaker 1: the last few weeks to try to say everything that's
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know, eggs and everything else are the problem of
- 27:48Speaker 1: Donald Trump, the American people aren't buying that either. When
- 27:51Speaker 1: they were asked for the president a clear plan to
- 27:53Speaker 1: battle inflation, sixty eight percent said yes to that as well.
- 27:57Speaker 1: And then on the issue of immigration the border, the
- 28:02Speaker 1: people watched in seventy seven percent said they were in
- 28:07Speaker 1: favor of Donald Trump's plan on immigration at the border.
- 28:11Speaker 1: When you see this right and you look at what
- 28:15Speaker 1: the President's saying, and then all those that are working
- 28:18Speaker 1: towards this. You've got the Vice President, You've got told you,
- 28:21Speaker 1: you've got the Secretary of State. Everyone seems to be
- 28:24Speaker 1: in lockstep on this issue of the border. Is that
- 28:27Speaker 1: the reason why you think the President's winning so much
- 28:30Speaker 1: right now on securing this border, because he's explaining it
- 28:32Speaker 1: the way we are right.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Now as well because he is not absolutely frigging nuts. Yes,
- 28:38Speaker 3: I think the Democrat Party has gone insane. Releasing murderers
- 28:44Speaker 3: and rapists and child molesters into America is a really
- 28:47Speaker 3: bad idea. It turns out it's a really unpopular idea.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Releasing terrorists into America is a really bad idea. It
- 28:53Speaker 3: turns out it's a really unpopular idea. Look, you and
- 28:58Speaker 3: I the we cover did pod the Night of the
- 29:01Speaker 3: State of the Union, and we talked a lot about
- 29:04Speaker 3: how the Democrats for the first time ever, didn't applaud
- 29:07Speaker 3: for the President of the United States, didn't stand for
- 29:09Speaker 3: the President of the United States, didn't applaud and anything.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I'll tell you actually yesterday and the Senate, Jim I
- 29:15Speaker 3: had a conversation with a Senate Democrat. I'll keep him anonymous.
- 29:19Speaker 3: But he was a Senate Democrat, one of my colleagues,
- 29:22Speaker 3: and he.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Made a comment.
- 29:24Speaker 3: He said something about he thought we were just living
- 29:26Speaker 3: in a surreal world. And I said, look, I got
- 29:31Speaker 3: to say, I was shocked that you guys didn't applaud
- 29:36Speaker 3: or stand for the president at all. And he was like, well,
- 29:42Speaker 3: you got to understand, we just think he's destroying the constitution.
- 29:47Speaker 3: And I said, look, I stood and applauded every year
- 29:51Speaker 3: for Barack Obama, I stood and applauded every year for
- 29:53Speaker 3: Joe Biden. And I disagreed with almost everything they were doing,
- 29:57Speaker 3: but I respect the office and I respect the America people.
- 30:01Speaker 3: And he just kind of shrugged and said, we're living
- 30:03Speaker 3: in different universes and we're and we're our bases are
- 30:08Speaker 3: fundamentally different. You look at Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
- 30:12Speaker 1: He also announced the policy to penalize foreign countries that
- 30:15Speaker 1: allow the transit of illegal immigrants and is pressuring many
- 30:20Speaker 1: countries that refuse to accept to the return of their
- 30:23Speaker 1: migrants as well. This could also have a big impact
- 30:27Speaker 1: on this country. I want to get your thoughts on that.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, look, this administration is securing the border they're doing
- 30:36Speaker 3: it right now, and they are going to deport illegal aliens.
- 30:39Speaker 3: They are going to send out of the country, especially
- 30:43Speaker 3: the violet criminal illegal aliens, the murderers, the rapists, the
- 30:46Speaker 3: child molesters, the gang bangers, and the countries that don't
- 30:50Speaker 3: take it, they're they're going to make them take it.
- 30:53Speaker 3: And that's what a strong president who's actually defending this
- 30:56Speaker 3: country does.
- 30:57Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Sentner,
