- 0:00Speaker 1: Michelle Lily. She is an entrepreneur, cryptocurrency and technology investor,
- 0:04Speaker 1: in educator, philanthropris and like I said her mottold you
- 0:08Speaker 1: are the opportunity. Her company, her company, Crypto Rich, is
- 0:11Speaker 1: a technology company technology company specializing in blockchain and digital
- 0:16Speaker 1: currency education. Here that right now, That's why I'm a
- 0:19Speaker 1: master class block change and digital currency education. Our mission
- 0:23Speaker 1: today is to educate the culture on the fundamentals of
- 0:26Speaker 1: block change and blockchain and cryptocurrency conversation. Where African Americans
- 0:32Speaker 1: tend to not participate because we always last to the
- 0:36Speaker 1: to the opportunity. Well, let's trying to be first to
- 0:38Speaker 1: the opportunity. Please work with the money making conversation. Master Class,
- 0:41Speaker 1: Michelle Lily. How you doing, Michelle, I'm doing well. I'm
- 0:45Speaker 1: doing well, and thank you for having to be on
- 0:47Speaker 1: this call and in this conversation. Well, before we get
- 0:51Speaker 1: into the whole conversation about cryptocurrency, let's give some background
- 0:55Speaker 1: on you so I can educate my audience about who
- 0:57Speaker 1: you your journey to this point, because I would tell
- 1:00Speaker 1: you I have been a person who have invested in
- 1:02Speaker 1: the stock, I have not invested in cryptocurrency. I have
- 1:05Speaker 1: not invested in big corm. I don't even know what
- 1:08Speaker 1: it is. Okay, I hear about it. I'm nervous. But
- 1:11Speaker 1: before we even talk about that, let's find a lot,
- 1:13Speaker 1: find out a little bit about you. How did you
- 1:15Speaker 1: your history of education, How did we evolve to the
- 1:17Speaker 1: point that I can bring you on this call to
- 1:19Speaker 1: talk about something that is really defining the industry and
- 1:23Speaker 1: we as African Americans need to be participating in. Okay,
- 1:27Speaker 1: So just to give you some of my background, um,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I entered the space of cryptocurrency in two thousand and seventeen.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I started purchasing bigcoin of twelve dollars and at the time,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I knew nothing about big com, I knew nothing about cryptocurrency.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I knew nothing about blockchain, and uh. I entered into
- 1:49Speaker 1: a program that promised to pay you two percent a
- 1:53Speaker 1: day on your bitcoin. Long story short, that went away
- 1:56Speaker 1: and I lost some money, but I understood. I started
- 1:59Speaker 1: to under sam Bitcoin to know that bitcoin didn't scam me,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the platform scamp. And what I realized is something that
- 2:07Speaker 1: you just talked about. That's about about being around successful people,
- 2:10Speaker 1: because you can get the right information, and what I
- 2:14Speaker 1: didn't have was the right information so I decided that
- 2:17Speaker 1: I was going to get the right information and I
- 2:19Speaker 1: want to get blockchain certified, and I want to get
- 2:22Speaker 1: the theory and certified. And I went on to as
- 2:25Speaker 1: of tomorrow, I will take a final and after tomorrow
- 2:29Speaker 1: the first African American female in the world with a
- 2:32Speaker 1: master's degree in blockchain and digital currency from a top
- 2:36Speaker 1: five university in the world called University of Nicosia. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: from an academic standpoint, I went and really got educated.
- 2:45Speaker 1: But I am a active participant in the field of
- 2:50Speaker 1: cryptocurrency and the blockchain. Now here's an interesting thing because
- 2:54Speaker 1: you you publicly admitted on my interview that you got scammed.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And that's my fear because I no because let let
- 3:01Speaker 1: me just let me just back up why I am afraid,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and I'm shouldn't be afraid. I shouldn't even use the
- 3:06Speaker 1: word afraid. I just don't know, and I am feared.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Not the option ignorance is option, because I know I
- 3:12Speaker 1: can go to a Morgan Stanley and buy stock. I
- 3:15Speaker 1: know I can go to a you know, to a
- 3:17Speaker 1: Mirror Lynching buy stock because that's what I do. Okay,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I know you have apps that you can go and
- 3:21Speaker 1: buy stock. On how do you get in the cryptocurrency
- 3:25Speaker 1: gain and what is it? Because I know stock is
- 3:28Speaker 1: tried to like Apple, so I buy an Apple stock,
- 3:31Speaker 1: or I can buy home depot stock. I know I
- 3:33Speaker 1: can see the building, I can actually walk into my investment.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Cryptocurrency doesn't work like that. Bitcoin doesn't work like that.
- 3:41Speaker 1: What is what is? What is it? What is it? Okay,
- 3:45Speaker 1: So let me let me dissect a couple of things
- 3:48Speaker 1: that you just said there. Okay, because cryptocurrency. So let's
- 3:53Speaker 1: let's talk about cryptocurrency and bitcoin. Okay. So bit coin
- 3:58Speaker 1: is a protocol and it's more of a store of
- 4:03Speaker 1: value and a transfer, uh and and and in exchange
- 4:10Speaker 1: when you deal with other cryptocurrencies and the product. Let
- 4:13Speaker 1: me let me just back up. The protocol of bitcoin
- 4:16Speaker 1: is what makes bitcoin so valuable. And I'm gonna put it.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna put up. I'm gonna put a pause there,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna put a semi cool and then we're gonna
- 4:23Speaker 1: come back to that. Because cryptocurrency, like you mentioned, like
- 4:28Speaker 1: apple stock, a lot of times people think that cryptocurrency
- 4:32Speaker 1: is just different currencies like a forest, like you're just
- 4:35Speaker 1: trading the USD for the end or you know the
- 4:38Speaker 1: euro for the paco. That's not what cryptocurrency is at all.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's more like a hybrid between stock and currency. And
- 4:48Speaker 1: let me explain what I mean by that. When you
- 4:51Speaker 1: have a when you invest in a cryptocurrency, so like
- 4:56Speaker 1: say like um ec um because a lot of people
- 5:01Speaker 1: have heard of ethereum and it holds the second largest
- 5:05Speaker 1: market cap in the cryptocurrency space. So when there there
- 5:10Speaker 1: is a protocol behind Etherium and dealing with smart our contracts,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and it has a utility case. So these coins have
- 5:19Speaker 1: utility behind them. Just like the reason that you purchase
- 5:24Speaker 1: apple Stock is because of the products behind Apple well,
- 5:28Speaker 1: the same way that these coins do. The difference is
- 5:31Speaker 1: what makes it a hybrid. If I was to say, hey, Richard,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I send me five thousand dollars today in apple Stock,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you couldn't. You would have to cash it out and
- 5:40Speaker 1: then you would have to send me the capital. If
- 5:43Speaker 1: I told you to send me five thousand dollars in Ethereum,
- 5:46Speaker 1: you can send it to me right now and we
- 5:47Speaker 1: could probably verify it in the next ten minutes that
- 5:50Speaker 1: it has hit my wallet. Because it operates like currency,
- 5:53Speaker 1: but it has utility and value the same way that
- 5:57Speaker 1: stock does. And that's the miscon suestion and myth that
- 6:01Speaker 1: a lot of people have. They don't understand that cryptocurrency
- 6:05Speaker 1: has utility behind these coins. Bitcoin is a protocol and
- 6:12Speaker 1: it allows us to have a store of value. Because
- 6:14Speaker 1: I hear when a lot of people say that I'm
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm scared of cryptocurrency. What we need to be somewhat
- 6:19Speaker 1: nervous about is the dollar, okay, because nobody's talking about
- 6:27Speaker 1: the value and the installation that we're dealing with. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: what bitcoin does, what makes it so valuable is two things.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Is one is not controlled by a central government. It's
- 6:39Speaker 1: a protocol and it's and it's a protocol on the
- 6:41Speaker 1: blockchain that is almost unhappable, meaning that it's decentralized, so
- 6:49Speaker 1: there's no one a central authority that's running it. It's
- 6:52Speaker 1: ran by no matter of fact. You could run to
- 6:54Speaker 1: know on on on a bitcoin blockchain, and those transactions
- 7:00Speaker 1: are verified by individuals that are running these nose and
- 7:05Speaker 1: computer hash power. I'm not gonna get into the technical
- 7:07Speaker 1: side of it, but it's almost secured. It's almost a cure.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It would have to be what we call a fifty
- 7:15Speaker 1: one percent attack, meaning that fifty one percent of the
- 7:19Speaker 1: nose would have to come together and agree to attack
- 7:22Speaker 1: that blockchain in order for there to be any fraugent activity,
- 7:26Speaker 1: which is almost impossible because these nose don't know each
- 7:30Speaker 1: other around the world. Let me just this. The thing is, so,
- 7:33Speaker 1: how does okay? So I put five thousand dollars because
- 7:36Speaker 1: because it's a bank wallet, right, it's called a wallet, correct,
- 7:39Speaker 1: that's where you keep Okay, So I'm learning that. Do
- 7:42Speaker 1: you educate me now? So, so I hope my listeners
- 7:45Speaker 1: are listening because you can call in four zero four
- 7:47Speaker 1: eight zero nine to five five if you want to
- 7:50Speaker 1: ask the caution, just like McDonald is learning. Now, how
- 7:53Speaker 1: does that value go up? So? If I put a
- 7:56Speaker 1: thousand dollars of cryptocurrency in my wallet, how does that
- 7:59Speaker 1: va you go up? Okay? So I'm glad you asked
- 8:03Speaker 1: that question. So let's talk specifically about bitcoin, because bitcoin
- 8:06Speaker 1: is the granddaddy of all cryptocurrencies. It rises and it
- 8:09Speaker 1: drops the market. So, first of all, bitcoin is scarce.
- 8:15Speaker 1: There's only twenty one million that will ever be made.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And yes, so it's more than twenty one millionaires in Houston, Texas,
- 8:24Speaker 1: where I'm at right now. Okay, not only is it scarce,
- 8:29Speaker 1: is deflationary. And what I mean by that because there's
- 8:32Speaker 1: only twenty one million that have ever been made. Think
- 8:35Speaker 1: about if there was only twenty one million dollars that
- 8:39Speaker 1: wherever that was ever created. And bitcoin, when I say
- 8:42Speaker 1: the deflationary, Bitcoin does a thing every four years called
- 8:48Speaker 1: they having, which means that the amount of of a
- 8:55Speaker 1: bitcoin that is put out and can't be mine is
- 8:59Speaker 1: cut in half us every four years. It was written
- 9:02Speaker 1: into the protocol. So think about if we were putting
- 9:04Speaker 1: a million dollars out in circulation every year, and every
- 9:08Speaker 1: four years we cut that amount that was going out
- 9:10Speaker 1: in circulations and half the value of that dollar would
- 9:14Speaker 1: rise significantly. Right, That's what happens because right because there
- 9:21Speaker 1: wouldn't be enough because they're scarce. That's what's happening with bighoin.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And the more and more that these institutional money, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm not talking about retail investors, because retail investors follow
- 9:32Speaker 1: the institution money. When the more of these institutions are
- 9:37Speaker 1: realizing like your Morgan Stanley's, your UM what what's the
- 9:43Speaker 1: oldest insurance company? Uh? But your your your your city banks,
- 9:50Speaker 1: your chases the more that they're getting involved, and the
- 9:53Speaker 1: more that these companies like micro Strategy, which is you know,
- 9:56Speaker 1: a fortunate five company, that have all their money sitting
- 9:59Speaker 1: in all their cash reserves sitting in bitcoin, because they're
- 10:03Speaker 1: understanding what retail investors are not understanding that the inflation
- 10:07Speaker 1: that we're dealing with with all these trillions of dollars
- 10:09Speaker 1: being put out in the circulation. The value of our
- 10:13Speaker 1: dollar is going down so much. But bitcoin, if you
- 10:16Speaker 1: look at in the last ten years, it has a
- 10:18Speaker 1: two percent return per year based on what bitcoin was
- 10:24Speaker 1: ten years ago. Now they're understanding that the value of
- 10:29Speaker 1: bitcoin and the scarcity and the fact that it was
- 10:32Speaker 1: written into the protocol. So I can go, Michelle, I'm
- 10:36Speaker 1: not afraid no more. We're gonna talk about how I
- 10:39Speaker 1: got I gotta participate, that I gotta get in before
- 10:42Speaker 1: they cut this and half again. Okay, I think you
- 10:45Speaker 1: stunned my lessoners. Usually the phone is ringing off the
- 10:48Speaker 1: hook before I get back to my interview. I wanted
- 10:50Speaker 1: to talk about five tips on improving your ability to win.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I always tell anybody you know, it's about you, and
- 10:57Speaker 1: like her Model says Michelle Model, you are the opportunity,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and I always tell people, if you look into that
- 11:03Speaker 1: yourself and you really evaluate, a lot of people call
- 11:06Speaker 1: the vision boards. Here are five tips on improving your
- 11:08Speaker 1: ability to win. First, you need to identifying your strength.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Identify your strengths. What are you good at? You know
- 11:15Speaker 1: now what you like to do, not what you want
- 11:17Speaker 1: to do, but what are you good at? What is
- 11:19Speaker 1: your strength? When somebody comes to you, what are they
- 11:21Speaker 1: coming to you for on the regular basis? If they
- 11:23Speaker 1: come to your advice, they're coming for you to perform.
- 11:26Speaker 1: If coming to you to make something that is your strength,
- 11:29Speaker 1: start recognizing that. If you recognize that, then you can
- 11:33Speaker 1: charge people for that strength. Identify where you can improve yourself.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That's important because a lot of people will not accept criticism.
- 11:41Speaker 1: They will run from criticism. They get angry when they
- 11:44Speaker 1: hear criticism, and so when people can help them out,
- 11:48Speaker 1: they don't help mind because they don't feel like you're tripping.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Are you going off on them just because they're telling you,
- 11:54Speaker 1: you know, if you wasn't so rough in your tone,
- 11:57Speaker 1: if you if you if you showed up on time
- 12:00Speaker 1: and open your doors at the same time for your business,
- 12:03Speaker 1: if you then if you put a little bit more
- 12:05Speaker 1: food on that plate. Then guess what the customer will
- 12:08Speaker 1: not think you're being cheap. Consider the benefits of changing.
- 12:13Speaker 1: That's important. Set pacific goals. We all know that's important.
- 12:17Speaker 1: My goal every day, it's a simple goal. I get
- 12:19Speaker 1: up before thirty monthy through fried. I get it be
- 12:20Speaker 1: four thirty every day one through fried. That's my goal. Now.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I don't like getting up before thirty. I actually hate
- 12:29Speaker 1: getting up at four thirty. But if I don't, if
- 12:32Speaker 1: I get up at five thirty or sixth thirty, it
- 12:33Speaker 1: changes my whole day. So four thirties my get up time.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It's my success slot that I decided to get in
- 12:40Speaker 1: and make myself win. And the final thing I always
- 12:43Speaker 1: tell people on the five tips of improving your ability
- 12:46Speaker 1: to win is to be consistent. Please be consistent when
- 12:49Speaker 1: you speak to people. Please be consistent when you when
- 12:52Speaker 1: you make your products, you're delivering your product. Never make
- 12:56Speaker 1: an excuse. If you're supposed to get the product there
- 12:58Speaker 1: yesterday and to get to the next week, it's utiful.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's not the post office and not fair that you
- 13:02Speaker 1: the problem. So accept the responsibility to be consistent and
- 13:05Speaker 1: guess what customers will respect that your friends will respect that,
- 13:09Speaker 1: your relationship will respect that. With all that being said,
- 13:11Speaker 1: let's get back to my friend who's called in cryptocurrency expert.
- 13:16Speaker 1: But Shechelle Lily, how do you know, Michelle Milichell. I
- 13:20Speaker 1: had to get that out, you know, you know on
- 13:22Speaker 1: my should this this is a master class the first
- 13:24Speaker 1: of the year. And what I'm trying to do, and
- 13:25Speaker 1: I thank you for coming on my show. I'm just
- 13:27Speaker 1: trying to give individual's information. And what I've learned is,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you know, you you go through a year and you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: we're coming out of COVID, and COVID changed a lot
- 13:36Speaker 1: of people's mentality. You know, a lot of people were unemployed,
- 13:40Speaker 1: a lot of people, uh got evicted, a lot of people.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But that stock market in twenty was setting records. You know,
- 13:48Speaker 1: there was a certain group of people that were becoming
- 13:50Speaker 1: millionaires and billionaires, and there were a certain group of
- 13:53Speaker 1: people who who asking can you extend my rent? So
- 13:57Speaker 1: I wanted to get evicted, Can you give me some money?
- 13:59Speaker 1: They because I need childcare? Can you tell me what
- 14:03Speaker 1: I can do? So we've we've quickly become a country
- 14:06Speaker 1: where we all the haves and the have nots. And
- 14:10Speaker 1: so when I when I bring you on my show
- 14:13Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass to talk about this, I'm asking
- 14:17Speaker 1: you to help us become part of the halves. And
- 14:21Speaker 1: you I want, I tell you explain stuff very very simple.
- 14:26Speaker 1: When I say that, that's important. And that's a compliment
- 14:29Speaker 1: because because I've read this in a book and it's
- 14:32Speaker 1: so complicated. Cryptocurrency and they need to repeat the word
- 14:35Speaker 1: cryptocurrency again to explain what cryptocurrency is. I don't even
- 14:39Speaker 1: know what cryptocurrency was the first time. Now you're gonna
- 14:40Speaker 1: put it in the definition and so and so when
- 14:44Speaker 1: I hear you speak to me, that's important because all
- 14:47Speaker 1: I'm asking for is a is an option to win.
- 14:51Speaker 1: So when you see people like me frustrated, what's the
- 14:54Speaker 1: number one thing that you tell people like me? Is
- 14:57Speaker 1: it to calm down, or you can it's not too
- 14:59Speaker 1: late to get in, or you need a lot of
- 15:01Speaker 1: money or a little bit of money. What what advice
- 15:03Speaker 1: do you give a person like me or anybody just
- 15:06Speaker 1: listening to my show. So I give I give a
- 15:08Speaker 1: couple of things, and one is this. The first one
- 15:11Speaker 1: is this, and this this one is gonna be maybe
- 15:13Speaker 1: a good punch for a couple of people when they
- 15:17Speaker 1: say that, you know, I don't understand cryptocurrency. You know
- 15:19Speaker 1: what I say, most of us don't understand the dollar
- 15:21Speaker 1: that we used in or the currency that we currently
- 15:23Speaker 1: operating in anyway. That's number one. The second thing is
- 15:29Speaker 1: nobody is waiting for your opinion or your understanding two
- 15:35Speaker 1: for it to go forward. It's like nobody's waiting on
- 15:39Speaker 1: our understanding for us to understand the current dollar. Most
- 15:43Speaker 1: of us can't make the type of money and the
- 15:45Speaker 1: half and the half note that we have right now
- 15:47Speaker 1: because we don't understand the current financial system that we're in,
- 15:50Speaker 1: let alone the new financial system that's being ushered in.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But nobody came and got our opinion when they changed
- 15:57Speaker 1: from where when I use the cards for everything and
- 16:01Speaker 1: now you're sending cash app and now you They didn't
- 16:04Speaker 1: come from get your opinion or your vote. They just
- 16:06Speaker 1: did it and they didn't care that you didn't understand.
- 16:09Speaker 1: So the same thing is happening with cryptocurrency, whether we
- 16:13Speaker 1: understand it or not, and most of us use that
- 16:16Speaker 1: as an excuse not to move forward or to understand
- 16:19Speaker 1: or to even understand it, because in essence, we feel
- 16:23Speaker 1: like they haven't given us the permission yet to do it,
- 16:27Speaker 1: because they're telling us know when they're going, when they're on,
- 16:30Speaker 1: they're on the back end. Up when you look at
- 16:32Speaker 1: all the institutional money that's being poured in the cryptocurrency
- 16:35Speaker 1: and all the big players that's getting involved, and we
- 16:38Speaker 1: think about the metaverse that's happening, and you know people buying.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Samsung just bought Landing the metaverse, and Nike just bought
- 16:46Speaker 1: uh did a deal with the Central land one of
- 16:48Speaker 1: the largest metaverses and cryptocurrency and so forth. They're not
- 16:53Speaker 1: waiting on us. So I say that if you don't know,
- 16:57Speaker 1: it's important to at least pay attention because most of
- 17:00Speaker 1: us don't understand the current fighting natural system that we're
- 17:02Speaker 1: operating in any way, So that let's not use that
- 17:06Speaker 1: as a as an excuse not to participate. We will
- 17:09Speaker 1: be right back with more Money Making Conversations master Class
- 17:12Speaker 1: with Rushan McDonald. Now let's return to Money Making Conversations
- 17:18Speaker 1: master Class with Rashan McDonald. I want to pull Gino
- 17:21Speaker 1: in Gino in Atlanta. He wants to call in Gino,
- 17:24Speaker 1: how you doing. Welcome to Money Making Conversations Master Class
- 17:27Speaker 1: how you doing all good man? I just want to
- 17:30Speaker 1: ask a question your opinion on on Ripple Flash x R. Michelle.
- 17:39Speaker 1: That's a question because you know, I don't know what
- 17:41Speaker 1: he's talking about. Are you familiar with what he just
- 17:44Speaker 1: said there? Michelle? Very much so, very much so un
- 17:49Speaker 1: or no, I'm just hold on hold before we get start.
- 17:54Speaker 1: We don't give out advice on the whole of the bye.
- 17:56Speaker 1: We don't do that on this show. Okay, this is this.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Don't don't come on by your were trying like little
- 18:01Speaker 1: jan said, No, no, no, no, you're not gonna do
- 18:05Speaker 1: me like that. You know you're gonna get me off
- 18:07Speaker 1: the air after one week. You know what I'm saying.
- 18:09Speaker 1: But what But what she will explain to you about that,
- 18:12Speaker 1: because that's why the show is about. You know, I
- 18:13Speaker 1: was just joking with you. She's gonna give you some
- 18:15Speaker 1: advice about the background about it, and I think that's
- 18:18Speaker 1: why you call Michelle. Yes, um, so ripple Ripple is
- 18:25Speaker 1: only so one thing I want you to consider. Ripple
- 18:28Speaker 1: is only having legal issues in the US, and oftentimes
- 18:32Speaker 1: we think that the US has controlled in the whole world,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and that's not that's that's only partially correct, um, and
- 18:40Speaker 1: cryptocurrency goes spans the globe and when so, Ripple has
- 18:45Speaker 1: so many partnerships with big banks in the US and
- 18:48Speaker 1: outside of the US. So this long suit is just
- 18:51Speaker 1: a lawsuit to slow it down from my opinion. Now,
- 18:54Speaker 1: this is just my opinion, um, And I think that
- 18:57Speaker 1: it's gonna come out favorable. And you know in in Ripples,
- 19:02Speaker 1: Ripple and Ripple's favor um. And when you're dealing with
- 19:05Speaker 1: a settlement, talken, because that's what Ripple is for those
- 19:08Speaker 1: that don't know, a settlement talking for us, a bank
- 19:10Speaker 1: for the banks. I mean, I think you're gonna have
- 19:13Speaker 1: a win there, um. And I think that the token
- 19:16Speaker 1: is being suppressed on purpose. So do you think it's
- 19:20Speaker 1: going to um challenge ysto. That's what it was designed for. Yes,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and I think that's one of the reasons that the
- 19:32Speaker 1: lawsuit came as well. That's all I need, Gino. Thank
- 19:36Speaker 1: you for calling money making conversation calling anytime, genal Y.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I appreciate you that. Michelle. Again, you know the interesting
- 19:44Speaker 1: about it is that you know, when big coin first
- 19:47Speaker 1: came out, it wasn't tied to a bank, least in
- 19:50Speaker 1: my mind. Keep cryptocurrency, and they heard all these corporations
- 19:52Speaker 1: investing in you hear about all these hedge funds investing
- 19:56Speaker 1: in these cryptocurrency the ethereums, and also you hear in
- 20:00Speaker 1: about these big corns and you tell me twenty one
- 20:03Speaker 1: million bit corns were made right there, I'm going like, okay,
- 20:08Speaker 1: who okay, Like it's like it's like these n f
- 20:13Speaker 1: t s. Okay, people like it's like they're just making
- 20:16Speaker 1: up stuff. And then all of a sudden people investing
- 20:18Speaker 1: in it, and then guess what it holds, the currency,
- 20:21Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, it's all that's what
- 20:24Speaker 1: any dollar does. So ra Sean, money was just made
- 20:29Speaker 1: up about the blue from we just create We went
- 20:31Speaker 1: from the gold standard to the we just made up
- 20:33Speaker 1: dollars and people believed it because because they said that,
- 20:37Speaker 1: And the only thing that money is back, guys, is
- 20:39Speaker 1: the belief as a people. Wow, you're absolutely telling the truth.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And so so now with cryptocurrency. Now, now n f
- 20:50Speaker 1: t s and cryptocurrency are they are they the same? No,
- 20:56Speaker 1: before we get started, please tell everybody what is an
- 20:59Speaker 1: n f T. Yes, I hear somebody in the background
- 21:04Speaker 1: saying that. So as my producer this is his question.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Just I got an inside question. You know we can so,
- 21:14Speaker 1: so is a non is exactly what he said. It's
- 21:19Speaker 1: a non spongible token. And what that means is is
- 21:23Speaker 1: that it's it's unique. It can't be replaced with something else,
- 21:26Speaker 1: like something that's spongible. Spongible is something that's able to
- 21:30Speaker 1: be replaced by an identical item. So like, for instance, dollars,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I can replace dollars with dollars because it's an identical item.
- 21:38Speaker 1: When I'm dealing with something that's non spongible, I'm dealing
- 21:43Speaker 1: with something that's unique, like art. Right, That's where a
- 21:46Speaker 1: lot of people use art because it can become an original. Yes,
- 21:51Speaker 1: music sore, you're gonna see. So now you see a
- 21:53Speaker 1: lot of these artists. They're dropping their records and they're
- 21:56Speaker 1: dropping their albums as n S keys because now they
- 21:59Speaker 1: don't have to a through these platforms to sell their music.
- 22:03Speaker 1: They're selling them as n f T s. And because
- 22:05Speaker 1: it's built on the blockchain, which is a public letger
- 22:09Speaker 1: and anybody can see what's going on on the blockchain,
- 22:12Speaker 1: it allows them to to have ownerships directly that is
- 22:19Speaker 1: contracted through a smart contract on the blockchain and now
- 22:23Speaker 1: they can sell their So say, for instance, if I
- 22:26Speaker 1: was a musician and I sold my one of my
- 22:28Speaker 1: n f t s to you, I can also say,
- 22:31Speaker 1: every time you sell that NFC, I'm going to get that.
- 22:36Speaker 1: We're speaking to Michelle Lily. She's the first African American
- 22:38Speaker 1: female to receive a master's degree in blockchain and digital
- 22:42Speaker 1: currency from a top five university in the world. She's
- 22:45Speaker 1: a number of books out of own digital currency on
- 22:48Speaker 1: Cryptocurrency on bilcom. But you have a new book that
- 22:51Speaker 1: you have coming out in February, the Metaverse and n
- 22:54Speaker 1: f t S that you co offered with another graduate
- 22:57Speaker 1: of the school that you attended. Tell us about See,
- 23:00Speaker 1: you know, when you start talking, it almost sounds um
- 23:03Speaker 1: like Marvel Universe metaverse. You know, that's a character, that's
- 23:07Speaker 1: a that's a that's a that's that's a dimension in
- 23:10Speaker 1: the in the in the in the DC comic world.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And so but now now that's over here used as
- 23:16Speaker 1: an actual place you can invest. So tell us about
- 23:19Speaker 1: this new book that you're talking about, Metaverse and n
- 23:22Speaker 1: f t S. And then also, why are you emphasizing
- 23:25Speaker 1: women to be more uh, I could say knowledgeable and
- 23:30Speaker 1: informed about block change and digital currency and digital land.
- 23:33Speaker 1: So let's start with your book conversation first, Michelle. Okay,
- 23:36Speaker 1: so let's start with it. So I think it's important
- 23:39Speaker 1: for um us, and you know, I'm definitely one of
- 23:43Speaker 1: education um my people when it comes to this topic.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And when we think about the metaverse, you mentioned about
- 23:51Speaker 1: Marvel and it seems like it's cool and it's way
- 23:53Speaker 1: out there, but I want to break it down for
- 23:55Speaker 1: it so it makes sense to you. So think about
- 23:58Speaker 1: when you're on Facebook right now, you really in turn
- 24:01Speaker 1: into a metaverse on Facebook. You got your page, you
- 24:05Speaker 1: have different things that Facebook that you can do on
- 24:07Speaker 1: Facebook and so forth. The differences the metaverse is a
- 24:11Speaker 1: three D world versus a two D two D world.
- 24:15Speaker 1: That's what makes the metaverse different than the web two
- 24:17Speaker 1: point oh that we're dealing in right now. That's why
- 24:20Speaker 1: they call it web three point oh as well, because
- 24:22Speaker 1: it's a three D world that you're going to be
- 24:24Speaker 1: interacting in versus the two D world. But if you
- 24:27Speaker 1: think about from an n f T perspective, to add
- 24:29Speaker 1: that to it, your page is like your land, that
- 24:33Speaker 1: your digital land that you own on Facebook. But instead
- 24:36Speaker 1: of owning that you don't have any ownership right where
- 24:38Speaker 1: you're renting it right now, and you're renting it by
- 24:40Speaker 1: providing them your data that they can sell right well now,
- 24:44Speaker 1: in the metaverse, you would be able to own that
- 24:47Speaker 1: and you and the n f T would allow you
- 24:49Speaker 1: to own because that's a unique page of yours and
- 24:54Speaker 1: it would allow you to own that specific land in
- 24:58Speaker 1: that metaverse. Just say, if we face book as an example.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I'm just trying to make it make sense in a
- 25:02Speaker 1: real life for people so it doesn't go over their head. Well,
- 25:06Speaker 1: my whole thing is that. That's why, that's why I'm
- 25:08Speaker 1: enjoying this conversation, because nothing you've said in this interview
- 25:12Speaker 1: has went I felt above my basic knowledge, and I
- 25:16Speaker 1: think that's important. You know, this is not by I
- 25:19Speaker 1: got a degree in mathematics, but that's not helping me
- 25:22Speaker 1: learn anything else that you're teaching me, because it's straight
- 25:25Speaker 1: common sense. Because what you told me, the most important
- 25:28Speaker 1: thing is rashan. Nobody asked you anything about a dollar.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You just spend it. Nobody told you, They told you
- 25:34Speaker 1: this is one dollar, five dollars, this is ten dollars,
- 25:37Speaker 1: the hundred dollars, there's a thousand dollar bill. I think
- 25:40Speaker 1: out there somewhere, Okay, they had they started a two
- 25:43Speaker 1: dollar bill, then they stopped it. Okay, so you know
- 25:46Speaker 1: I don't like that two dollar bill. Stop using it.
- 25:49Speaker 1: We're gonna take that out of circulation. So that's how
- 25:51Speaker 1: that's how we have to look at cryptocurrency. It's no
- 25:54Speaker 1: different than them starting the two dollar bill and then
- 25:56Speaker 1: stopping it. But what you said, I think there was
- 25:59Speaker 1: more important is that it's not controlled by who. And
- 26:03Speaker 1: I think that's what you said earlier. You you said,
- 26:06Speaker 1: unlike the dollar, the cryptocurrency is not controlled by somebody. Correct,
- 26:12Speaker 1: it's not. It's not controlled by a central authority. Is
- 26:15Speaker 1: it is what we call centralized. So if you think
- 26:18Speaker 1: about Uber, right, at one time you had to call
- 26:22Speaker 1: into the taxi cab company and they had to dispatch
- 26:25Speaker 1: dispatch the money for you, I mean dispatch a cab
- 26:28Speaker 1: for you, and then Uber tank and people ran. Now anybody,
- 26:32Speaker 1: my next door neighbor can be my Uber driver. No
- 26:35Speaker 1: different than when you go in your bank and then
- 26:39Speaker 1: you go look gonna line. That's a central authority that's
- 26:42Speaker 1: controlling that and a central server. Well, and decentralized is
- 26:47Speaker 1: that all of us can run the network, and we
- 26:52Speaker 1: don't have to trust one person be and to tell
- 26:55Speaker 1: us that this money is there when we all know
- 26:56Speaker 1: that if everybody's going to made a bank run right now,
- 26:59Speaker 1: the bank would have to set down and they would
- 27:02Speaker 1: have to be in because they don't really have the
- 27:04Speaker 1: money there because they loaned ten times what they deposits.
- 27:09Speaker 1: So they it's a Positi scheme that's been running for us.
- 27:12Speaker 1: We just believe in it. Wow. And so when you
- 27:16Speaker 1: go to n f T S, like you said, orders
- 27:19Speaker 1: are dropping the music, you can get original art. This
- 27:22Speaker 1: is not a copy, but the original art that can't
- 27:24Speaker 1: be replicated. That's what we're talking about. Correct. Correct, And
- 27:28Speaker 1: so when somebody sells it, basically the person who originally
- 27:32Speaker 1: has access to can get a percentage of that sale. Correct. Now,
- 27:37Speaker 1: how is that track? Because that's what makes it non
- 27:41Speaker 1: funcible and that and it's tracked on the blockchain. So
- 27:45Speaker 1: if you think about the blockchain like a public ledger,
- 27:50Speaker 1: So any transaction that occurs on the blockchain, you can
- 27:55Speaker 1: go on the block explore and you can see that
- 27:58Speaker 1: transaction and any body can view that transaction. But based
- 28:02Speaker 1: on so I mun make it makes sense to you.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So say, for instance, that based on your routing number
- 28:08Speaker 1: and account number called we just call it a hash rate.
- 28:12Speaker 1: We just call it a hashtag. To see what I'm
- 28:14Speaker 1: saying that that's but that's the only difference. Wow. And
- 28:17Speaker 1: so with that being so, so just just laying it
- 28:20Speaker 1: out there for the people because we're about to wrap
- 28:22Speaker 1: up the show, just letting them know this, Okay, this
- 28:24Speaker 1: is not this is not a scam, this is this
- 28:28Speaker 1: is actual currency. This is the way people are doing business.
- 28:32Speaker 1: And we're either gonna get on or we're gonna sit
- 28:34Speaker 1: around complaining and get left out of game. Uh, you're
- 28:39Speaker 1: an educational tool that are helping people. But uh, the
- 28:43Speaker 1: other part of the two part question I have for
- 28:45Speaker 1: you is emphasizing women being educated about this being part
- 28:49Speaker 1: of the digital world. Why are you doing that? It's
- 28:53Speaker 1: important to because typically women are left out of finance.
- 28:58Speaker 1: We are definitely a huge minority in the finance community.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And where in the finance industry and in tech, we
- 29:06Speaker 1: we found way short in those two industries. Well, when
- 29:09Speaker 1: you talk about cryptocurrency and the block chain, who's married
- 29:12Speaker 1: those to this marriage technology and married finance. And so
- 29:17Speaker 1: I want to make sure as a woman specifically as
- 29:20Speaker 1: a black woman, that we are not left behind when
- 29:23Speaker 1: we have the chance to get in front of it.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Because let me just say this, only fourteen percent as
- 29:28Speaker 1: as as known as you are, you don't own cryptocurrency,
- 29:32Speaker 1: which means that we are still in the early adopter stage.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So we have to choose whether we're gonna be in
- 29:38Speaker 1: two thousand when Amazon came out as by Amazon stock
- 29:41Speaker 1: and get rich, or whether we're going to wait for
- 29:45Speaker 1: everybody to start buying Amazon stock and for us to
- 29:48Speaker 1: get permission from the people that have kept us back
- 29:52Speaker 1: in our current financial system that we operate in to
- 29:55Speaker 1: say okay, now it's okay. Michelle. I want to thank
- 30:01Speaker 1: you for calling it on Money Making Conversation Masterclass. I
- 30:04Speaker 1: know you have a boot camp coming up January twenty
- 30:06Speaker 1: two and twenty three in Houston, Texas. Do you have
- 30:08Speaker 1: a website? Yes, they can go to I am Digital
- 30:12Speaker 1: Diva dot com and Crypto Reach dot com. And you
- 30:16Speaker 1: are a diva, you are a cryptocurrency deeva. I want
- 30:19Speaker 1: to thank you for calling in on money Making Covers.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I'm a friend a friend, and if you ever need anything,
- 30:23Speaker 1: please call in and just keep us educated, keep us learning.
- 30:26Speaker 1: It's the first quarter. This is when you change people's lives,
- 30:29Speaker 1: and we want to make sure that you're part of
- 30:30Speaker 1: that big change and money my money making Conversation masterclass.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I hope you, I hope you're comfortable with this interview
- 30:37Speaker 1: because I was very very well informed and educated and
- 30:39Speaker 1: I am a person who's going to get into the
- 30:41Speaker 1: cryptocurrency game, in the big cooin game as well as
- 30:44Speaker 1: the n FT game, because that people have been coming
- 30:46Speaker 1: to me and I have not known how to react.
- 30:49Speaker 1: At least, this starts me in the conversation of being
- 30:52Speaker 1: comfortable to respond. And also you know that I can't
- 30:55Speaker 1: proticipate because it's part of the economic world that we live.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Thank you, Michelle, liv appreciate you.
