- 0:01Speaker 1: I'm meeting with, as you know, a couple of Democrats
- 0:04Speaker 1: a little while about the country, but keeping our country open.
- 0:08Speaker 1: They're going to have to do some things because their
- 0:10Speaker 1: ideas are not very good ones. They're very bad for
- 0:13Speaker 1: our country.
- 0:13Speaker 2: So we see how that works at If you're listening
- 0:16Speaker 2: to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning, Nice to have you with us on
- 0:21Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got one big
- 0:23Speaker 3: extended story for you. We are hours away from a
- 0:27Speaker 3: government shutdown, as Democrats and Chuck Schumer have made it
- 0:32Speaker 3: very clear, unless we give them one point five trillion
- 0:36Speaker 3: and radical, extreme spending programs, they're going to hold you
- 0:40Speaker 3: the American taxpayer hostage, will break down all of the moves.
- 0:45Speaker 3: It's forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Story number one.
- 0:50Speaker 3: We are hours away from a government shutdown.
- 0:53Speaker 4: That is the big story. Now.
- 0:55Speaker 3: We know that Democrats don't want to shut down the government,
- 0:58Speaker 3: right how do we know this? They've been saying it
- 1:00Speaker 3: for years, but all of a sudden now they're in
- 1:04Speaker 3: favor of it. So which Democratic party do you really trust? Well,
- 1:08Speaker 3: I'd love to just remind you the American people. What
- 1:12Speaker 3: the Democrats have said in the not too distant paths
- 1:16Speaker 3: about government shutdowns, many of the voices that you're going
- 1:20Speaker 3: to hear are still in power running our government right now.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Will these people hostage instead of just letting them do
- 1:28Speaker 5: their jobs which they want to do, while we work
- 1:30Speaker 5: out our differences.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So wrong?
- 1:33Speaker 6: This is democracy, and in a democracy, hostage tactics are
- 1:39Speaker 6: the last resort for those who can't win their fights
- 1:42Speaker 6: through elections, can't win their fights in Congress, can't win
- 1:46Speaker 6: their fights for the presidency, and can't win their fights
- 1:50Speaker 6: in the court.
- 1:51Speaker 7: Doesn't shutdown as any duration with harm hardworking Americans and
- 1:56Speaker 7: our economy.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Why should we ask TSA officers to go without the
- 2:00Speaker 5: harder and pay while they protect our airports.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I'm a Senator from Virginia.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Some of the hardest effects of shutdown will be seen
- 2:06Speaker 8: in my state.
- 2:07Speaker 5: If the government shuts down, it will be average Americans
- 2:10Speaker 5: who suffer most, Some.
- 2:11Speaker 9: Who right now are trying to figure out how they're
- 2:13Speaker 9: going to pay rent, how they're going to make mortgage payments,
- 2:17Speaker 9: how they're going to keep college payments going, how they're
- 2:19Speaker 9: going to keep the lights on, how they're going to
- 2:21Speaker 9: keep food on the table.
- 2:22Speaker 7: Had the government shut down, hundreds of thousands of people
- 2:25Speaker 7: would have not gotten their paychecks.
- 2:28Speaker 10: Federal employees would have been furloughed sent home.
- 2:31Speaker 11: Our military will get paid, head start teachers will get paid,
- 2:35Speaker 11: Our wildfire fighters will get paid.
- 2:38Speaker 10: Present federal prison guards will get paid.
- 2:40Speaker 5: A government shutdown means seniors who rely on Social Security
- 2:44Speaker 5: could be thrown into chaos. Our veterans could see regional
- 2:47Speaker 5: VA offices shut down and support services put on hold.
- 2:52Speaker 10: Shutdowns are not good for the economy.
- 2:54Speaker 8: Shutdowns cost taxpayers billions of dollars per week.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Shutdowns cost the economy billions of dollars.
- 3:03Speaker 10: They cost businesses money.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They could even cause a downgrade to the nation's credit rating.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Families who benefit from WICK and other nutrition programs could
- 3:12Speaker 5: see benefits halted.
- 3:14Speaker 12: If this shutdown continues indefinitely, thirty nine million Americans will
- 3:18Speaker 12: risk not having enough food. They will lose their SNAP
- 3:21Speaker 12: benefits in February, so that means American children will be
- 3:24Speaker 12: going to bed hungry.
- 3:26Speaker 10: It's unacceptable.
- 3:27Speaker 9: The longer that this shutdown goes on, the more Americans
- 3:31Speaker 9: that will be affected.
- 3:32Speaker 12: Critical services and our economy are being threatened with poison
- 3:36Speaker 12: pill partisanship.
- 3:38Speaker 9: Shutting down the government should not be a negotiating tactic.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Hostage taking is all they have left, a last gasp
- 3:47Speaker 6: of those who cannot cope with the realities of our
- 3:51Speaker 6: de law pursuits.
- 3:54Speaker 3: That is the Democratic Party, that montage put together by
- 3:57Speaker 3: the White House President Donald Trump putting it out on
- 4:00Speaker 3: true social as well. And the question that everyone should
- 4:03Speaker 3: be asking is where are those Democrats and what changed? Well,
- 4:08Speaker 3: we know a lot of what changed, and that is
- 4:10Speaker 3: the fact that they want to hold America hostage for
- 4:13Speaker 3: what they want.
- 4:14Speaker 4: What do they want?
- 4:16Speaker 3: Well, they want a one point five trillion dollar port
- 4:20Speaker 3: barrel list for them. What is included in it is
- 4:24Speaker 3: what should shock most of you. Free healthcare for illegal immigrants,
- 4:30Speaker 3: child mutilations.
- 4:31Speaker 4: That are covered by the tax payers.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Medicaid fraud is also something they want to keep, going
- 4:38Speaker 3: open borders as part of the one point five trillion
- 4:41Speaker 3: as well, and demanding men in women's sports. But what
- 4:46Speaker 3: are Democrats saying online? Mark Warner said this Democrats' position
- 4:51Speaker 3: is simple, lower costs, save real health care, keep the
- 4:56Speaker 3: government open.
- 4:57Speaker 4: It shouldn't be this hard.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Let's just repeat costly cuts health care and save millions
- 5:02Speaker 3: of Americans money. Well, then the question is why is
- 5:05Speaker 3: it costing us one point five trillion for all the
- 5:08Speaker 3: radical ideals that they're demanding. This is who the left is.
- 5:14Speaker 3: They're literally holding the country hostage now, and it is
- 5:17Speaker 3: a party of open borders, of allowing for violent crime,
- 5:21Speaker 3: and transgender for everybody, and all of those ideas are
- 5:25Speaker 3: now literally jeopardizing a lot of important things, which include
- 5:30Speaker 3: military pay, critical care for veterans, firefighter pay, disaster relief funding,
- 5:39Speaker 3: and many more programs on which many Americans rely on. Now,
- 5:43Speaker 3: Donald Trump and Republicans are committed to keeping the government
- 5:46Speaker 3: open with a clean funding extension. What's even more shocking
- 5:53Speaker 3: is they don't want that. Now. You may say, well,
- 5:56Speaker 3: hold on a second, what is a clean funding extent?
- 6:00Speaker 3: What does this actually mean? How do we know that's
- 6:03Speaker 3: a good thing. Well, take a listen to what the
- 6:06Speaker 3: White House Press Secretary had to say about it when
- 6:08Speaker 3: she was explaining it to the press.
- 6:11Speaker 13: What I will share is that what this White House
- 6:13Speaker 13: wants and what Republicans want, we want a clean funding
- 6:17Speaker 13: extension to keep the government open.
- 6:19Speaker 10: That's all.
- 6:20Speaker 13: We're advocating for, a simple, clean budget extension, a straightforward,
- 6:23Speaker 13: responsible solution to keep the government open to November twenty
- 6:26Speaker 13: first and allow the full year appropriations process to move forward.
- 6:30Speaker 10: And I will add this is the same.
- 6:32Speaker 13: Budget that the Democrats approved six months ago, just adjusted
- 6:35Speaker 13: for inflation. And unfortunately, all of a sudden now they
- 6:39Speaker 13: want to shut down the government. And if the government
- 6:42Speaker 13: is shut down, it's only going to it will be
- 6:44Speaker 13: the fault of the Democrats, and it will only hurt
- 6:46Speaker 13: the most vulnerable in our country, our seniors, our veterans,
- 6:49Speaker 13: our military families, and increasing security for members of Congress,
- 6:53Speaker 13: which is something this White House and the administration supports.
- 6:57Speaker 13: And if you look back at the statements made by
- 6:59Speaker 13: Chuck Shumer and Hakeem Jeffries in the past, they too
- 7:02Speaker 13: have advocated against a shutdown and for keeping the government open.
- 7:07Speaker 13: Democrat Chuck Schumer himself said a shutdown would mean chaos,
- 7:11Speaker 13: in pain, and needless.
- 7:13Speaker 10: Heartache for the American people.
- 7:14Speaker 13: He said once avoiding a shutdown is very good news
- 7:17Speaker 13: for the country, for our veterans, for parents and children,
- 7:20Speaker 13: for farmers, and for small businesses.
- 7:22Speaker 10: Hikim Jeffries also said it's about the harm.
- 7:25Speaker 13: Families will be hurt if there is a government shutdown,
- 7:28Speaker 13: Farmers will be hurt, holiday travel will be impacted.
- 7:31Speaker 10: Democrats clearly know what the right thing to do is here.
- 7:34Speaker 13: It's to join with Republicans to pass this clean funding extension.
- 7:37Speaker 13: That's what the White House and the President wants.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So that's the playground that we have right now before us.
- 7:44Speaker 3: They are playing with many people's lives. They're playing with
- 7:46Speaker 3: people who desperately need their paychecks. They're playing with our
- 7:50Speaker 3: men and women in uniform, including their paychecks. And if
- 7:54Speaker 3: you look at all of what I just described to you,
- 7:57Speaker 3: you would think that Democrats would say, all right, let's
- 8:00Speaker 3: just have a clean extension. No, no, no, that is
- 8:03Speaker 3: absolutely not what they're wanting to do. So then you
- 8:06Speaker 3: have to ask yourself the question, why is this Schumer
- 8:09Speaker 3: shutdown becoming a reality. Well, it actually is all about politics,
- 8:15Speaker 3: but not the usual them against us mentality. It's actually
- 8:21Speaker 3: really simple. Chuck Schumer is going to shut down the
- 8:24Speaker 3: government to show that he is a radical liberal. Now
- 8:28Speaker 3: you may say, why would he want to do that,
- 8:30Speaker 3: It's actually very simple. He is terrified of a primary
- 8:34Speaker 3: challenge from the famous radical AOC, the Senate minority leader,
- 8:40Speaker 3: is pushing Congress to a government shutdown because he's so
- 8:44Speaker 3: scared of being challenged in a primary by far left
- 8:48Speaker 3: Representative Alexander Ocassio Cortez. The Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom
- 8:53Speaker 3: Cotton also throwing this out today, making it clear this
- 8:58Speaker 3: is all about him trying to save him himself. And
- 9:01Speaker 3: after Schumer and the House Minority leader had came, Jeffries
- 9:04Speaker 3: left their Monday afternoon meeting with President Donald Trump without
- 9:07Speaker 3: a deal to avoid a government shutdown before the Wednesday deadline.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Cotton blasted the New York Center in a statement saying, quote,
- 9:15Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer is shutting down the government because he's terrified
- 9:19Speaker 3: of a primary from AOC. His actions are disgraceful, referring
- 9:25Speaker 3: to when asked about the reaction of Democrats refusal degree
- 9:29Speaker 3: on even a short term funding deal. House Republicans were
- 9:34Speaker 3: joined by a singular Democrat, Representative Jared Golden of Maine
- 9:39Speaker 3: and passing a bill on September the nineteenth that would
- 9:42Speaker 3: have kept the government funding until November twentieth, but Senate
- 9:45Speaker 3: Democrats blocked it from advancing. Instead, they proposed their own
- 9:50Speaker 3: funding bill demands with an extra you know, one point
- 9:53Speaker 3: four to one point five trillion for their radical far
- 9:56Speaker 3: left projects. Including free health care for illegals, funding by
- 10:00Speaker 3: the way for MPR and PBS, and transgendered surgeries that
- 10:04Speaker 3: you're supposed to pay for now. Republicans bock the Democrats
- 10:09Speaker 3: counter offer for advancing this in the Senate, leaving Congress
- 10:13Speaker 3: to either come to an agreement by midnight on Tuesday
- 10:17Speaker 3: or accept a real government shutdown that could actually last
- 10:21Speaker 3: a long time. Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats are willing
- 10:25Speaker 3: to shut down the government because they're scared of their
- 10:28Speaker 3: radical base. Take a listen cent Or Cotton saying this
- 10:31Speaker 3: to Hugh Hewitt.
- 10:34Speaker 14: Schumer is about shut down the government because he's scared
- 10:37Speaker 14: of a girl in New York City. Her name is
- 10:41Speaker 14: alexandro A Causier Quorquez, and he fears that she will
- 10:45Speaker 14: primary him four years from now, in twenty twenty eight
- 10:50Speaker 14: if he doesn't do the far left bidding. If you
- 10:52Speaker 14: call Hugh and march As, we're on the verge of
- 10:55Speaker 14: another Schumer shutdown. He caved and voted to keep the
- 11:00Speaker 14: government open and gave all kinds of backflipping explanations for
- 11:05Speaker 14: why he was not doing what the left demanded, and
- 11:07Speaker 14: he got some blowback from his left and from Alexandria
- 11:11Speaker 14: Caziero Cortez, and he's been fearful of her and of
- 11:15Speaker 14: this vote ever since. So he's apparently about to lead
- 11:18Speaker 14: his caucus over the cliff and shut down the government
- 11:23Speaker 14: because he doesn't want Alexandria Cazier Cortez to run against
- 11:27Speaker 14: him in four years.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Is it actually that simple? The answer is yes, especially
- 11:32Speaker 3: if you listen to Democrats that we played for you
- 11:34Speaker 3: earlier in their own words. So where do we go
- 11:38Speaker 3: from here? The reality is we are moments away, hours away,
- 11:43Speaker 3: minutes away from a government shut down, and Democrats are
- 11:46Speaker 3: doing this for two reasons. They want to fund their
- 11:49Speaker 3: radical agenda, but what they're also doing it for is
- 11:52Speaker 3: to try to save their leader. Chuck Schumer came out
- 11:56Speaker 3: in front of the cameras and made it very clear
- 11:58Speaker 3: after you left the White House meeting. Here's his thoughts
- 12:01Speaker 3: on the shutdown.
- 12:02Speaker 5: We have very large differences on healthcare and on their
- 12:07Speaker 5: ability to undo whatever budget we agree to through recisions
- 12:11Speaker 5: and through impoundment as well as pocket recisions.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It's very clear Chuck Schumer not talking like a man
- 12:19Speaker 3: that wants to actually get anything done. You had the
- 12:22Speaker 3: Vice President JD Vance, who came out of that meeting
- 12:24Speaker 3: with Speaker Johnson. Here's part of what he said in response,
- 12:28Speaker 3: We just.
- 12:29Speaker 15: Had a very frank conversation with a Senate and House
- 12:31Speaker 15: Democratic leadership. Look, the principle at stake here is very simple.
- 12:35Speaker 15: We have disagreements about tax policy, but you don't shut
- 12:37Speaker 15: the government down. We have disagreements about healthcare policy, but
- 12:40Speaker 15: you don't shut the government down. You don't use your
- 12:42Speaker 15: policy disagreements as leverage to not pay our troops, to
- 12:46Speaker 15: not haveial for services of government actually function. You don't
- 12:50Speaker 15: say the fact that you disagree about a particular tax
- 12:52Speaker 15: provision is an excuse for shutting down to the people's
- 12:55Speaker 15: government and all the essential services that come along with it.
- 12:58Speaker 15: If you look at what Chuck Schumer has said in
- 13:00Speaker 15: the past consistently, it's whatever our disagreements are, let's negotiate
- 13:03Speaker 15: with them, let's talk about them, let's figure out a
- 13:05Speaker 15: bipartisan solution. But you don't shut the government down. In
- 13:09Speaker 15: other words, you don't put a gun to the American
- 13:10Speaker 15: people's head and say, unless you do exactly what Senate
- 13:14Speaker 15: and House Democrats want you to do, we're going to
- 13:16Speaker 15: shut down your government. That's exactly what they're proposing out
- 13:19Speaker 15: there now. We have to remember they're very frustrated. They
- 13:22Speaker 15: say that they're very frustrated about the fact that this
- 13:24Speaker 15: negotiation has not taken place until today. But if you
- 13:26Speaker 15: look at the original the original thing they did with
- 13:30Speaker 15: this negotiation, it was a one point five trillion dollar
- 13:32Speaker 15: spending package, basically saying to the American people, we want
- 13:35Speaker 15: to give massive amounts of money, hundreds of billions of
- 13:38Speaker 15: dollars to illegal aliens for their health care while Americans
- 13:41Speaker 15: are struggling.
- 13:42Speaker 14: To pay their health care bills.
- 13:43Speaker 15: That was their initial foray into this negotiation.
- 13:46Speaker 14: We thought it was absurd.
- 13:47Speaker 15: We told them it was absurd, and now they come
- 13:49Speaker 15: in here it's saying that if you don't give us
- 13:52Speaker 15: everything that we want, we're going to shut down the government.
- 13:55Speaker 4: We think that's preposterous.
- 13:57Speaker 15: We think it's totally unacceptable, and we think the American
- 13:59Speaker 15: people people are going to suffer because these guys won't
- 14:02Speaker 15: do the right thing. Now, I want to make one
- 14:03Speaker 15: final point here.
- 14:04Speaker 14: You will hear a lot.
- 14:05Speaker 15: From Senate Democrats, from House Democrats about the fact that
- 14:08Speaker 15: American health care policy is broken. Well, we know that
- 14:11Speaker 15: American health care policy is broken. We've been trying to
- 14:13Speaker 15: fix it for the eight months that we've been in office.
- 14:16Speaker 15: But every single thing that they accused about being broken
- 14:19Speaker 15: about American health care is policy that Democrats have supported
- 14:22Speaker 15: for the past decade. So if they want to talk
- 14:24Speaker 15: about how to fix American health care policy, let's do it.
- 14:27Speaker 15: The Speaker would love to do it, the Senate Majority
- 14:29Speaker 15: Leader would love to do it. Let's work on it together,
- 14:32Speaker 15: but let's do it in the context of an open
- 14:34Speaker 15: government that's providing essential services to the American people. That's
- 14:37Speaker 15: all that we're proposing to do, and the fact that
- 14:40Speaker 15: they refuse to do that shows how unreasonable their position is.
- 14:43Speaker 15: I think we're headed to a shutdown because the Democrats
- 14:45Speaker 15: won't do the right thing. I hope they changed their mind,
- 14:47Speaker 15: but we're going to see.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I hope they change their mind, but we'll see. He
- 14:52Speaker 3: wasn't done there. There's also other points that were made
- 14:55Speaker 3: as well. Leader John Thune on the Democrats pulling America
- 14:59Speaker 3: towards the government shut down.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Here's what he said walking out of the meeting.
- 15:03Speaker 7: This right here, ladies and gentlemen, is what we're talking about.
- 15:06Speaker 7: Twenty four pages. It's a continuing resolution to fund the
- 15:08Speaker 7: government through November the twenty first. I don't know where
- 15:12Speaker 7: they're saying this is some huge partisan thing. This is
- 15:15Speaker 7: something we do fairly routinely. And when the Democrats had
- 15:18Speaker 7: the majority on thirteen different occasions they have the majority.
- 15:21Speaker 7: President Biden was in the White House, we passed continuing
- 15:24Speaker 7: resolutions to fund the government. This is purely and simply
- 15:29Speaker 7: hostage taking on the path on behalf of the Democrats.
- 15:32Speaker 7: The Republicans are United House Republicans, Senate Republicans, President Trump,
- 15:38Speaker 7: the House has passed a clean funding resolution to fund
- 15:41Speaker 7: the government till November the twenty first. It's clean, it
- 15:44Speaker 7: is bipartisan, and it is short term, but it gives
- 15:48Speaker 7: us enough time to finish the appropriations process, which is
- 15:51Speaker 7: the way we should be funding the government. So Republicans
- 15:54Speaker 7: in the House, the Senate, President United they passed the bill.
- 15:58Speaker 7: This is setting sitting right now at the Senate desk.
- 16:02Speaker 7: We could pick it up and pass it tonight. We
- 16:04Speaker 7: could pick it up and pass it tomorrow before the
- 16:06Speaker 7: government shuts down, and then we don't have a government shutdown.
- 16:09Speaker 14: It is totally up to.
- 16:10Speaker 7: The Democrats because right now they are the only thing
- 16:13Speaker 7: standing between the American people and the government shutting down.
- 16:17Speaker 7: We're all in favor of funding the government, and this
- 16:20Speaker 7: is something that's been done routinely thirteen different times by
- 16:23Speaker 7: the Democrats when they had the majority. So to me,
- 16:26Speaker 7: this is purely a hostage taking exercise on the part
- 16:29Speaker 7: of the Democrats. We're willing to sit down and work
- 16:31Speaker 7: with them on some of the issues they want to
- 16:33Speaker 7: talk about, whether it's the extension of premium tax credits
- 16:36Speaker 7: with reforms, We're happy to have that conversation. But as
- 16:40Speaker 7: of right now, this is a hijacking of the American people,
- 16:46Speaker 7: and it's the American people are going to pay the price.
- 16:48Speaker 3: It's a hijacking of the American people, and the American
- 16:52Speaker 3: people are going to be the ones that pay the price. Democrats,
- 16:57Speaker 3: by the way, when Americans pay for health care for
- 16:59Speaker 3: e lead eagles and they're ready to shut down the
- 17:01Speaker 3: government for it. Elizabeth Warren seven hours ago said Americans
- 17:07Speaker 3: need affordable health care. No one should go bankrupt because
- 17:10Speaker 3: they get sick and needed a doctor. If Republicans want
- 17:13Speaker 3: to shut down the government so they can keep increasing
- 17:16Speaker 3: costs and cutting health care, then they need to explain
- 17:19Speaker 3: that to the American people. So what are the Democrats demanding?
- 17:23Speaker 3: Not healthcare for you, They're demanding healthcare for illegal immigrants.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I'm going to say it again, They're demanding it for
- 17:32Speaker 3: illegal immigrants. The Speaker of the House Johnson saying this
- 17:37Speaker 3: on Fox News Channel about the shutdown.
- 17:40Speaker 11: It went well, Sean. By the way, thanks for playing
- 17:42Speaker 11: the highlight real tonight. Their hypocrisy is just breathtaking and
- 17:46Speaker 11: it's shameless, and it was on display in the Oval Office.
- 17:49Speaker 11: Credit President Trump showing real leadership. He's operating in good
- 17:52Speaker 11: faith and that was on display by bringing the leaders in.
- 17:55Speaker 11: He heard the arguments and the debates. They're baseless. I mean,
- 18:00Speaker 11: Chuck Schumer is now arguing exactly the opposite of what
- 18:04Speaker 11: he has always said in his career. And why you
- 18:07Speaker 11: hit the nail right on the head, Sean. He's doing
- 18:10Speaker 11: it at a political desperation. He is willing to force
- 18:13Speaker 11: the government to shut down just to oppose President Trump
- 18:16Speaker 11: for temporary political cover for himself, and he will abandon
- 18:19Speaker 11: the American people just to do that. It's really something
- 18:23Speaker 11: to watch now.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Speaker Johnson also had this to say as he walked
- 18:27Speaker 3: out of the White House and talking about just how consequential.
- 18:30Speaker 3: This shutdown will be where Democrats aren't even thinking about
- 18:34Speaker 3: our men and women in uniform, those eating, FEMA, funding
- 18:38Speaker 3: mental health services, and a whole lot more.
- 18:41Speaker 11: Their counterproposal, what Chuck Schumer and Hackeim Jeffries are demanding,
- 18:44Speaker 11: is that they claw back the fifty billion dollars that
- 18:47Speaker 11: we put into the rural hospital support structure. They want
- 18:50Speaker 11: to take that back. We're not going to do that.
- 18:52Speaker 11: We passed that because we have to allow for that. Also,
- 18:56Speaker 11: if they shut the government down, not only are troops unpaid,
- 18:59Speaker 11: federal workers and all the services that everybody relies upon,
- 19:01Speaker 11: but the Whig program, the nutrition program, women infinite children,
- 19:05Speaker 11: they will not get. That program will not be funded.
- 19:07Speaker 11: FEMA won't be funded. We have hurricanes off the coast
- 19:09Speaker 11: of the United States right now. This is serious business.
- 19:13Speaker 11: You have telehealth, you have mental health services. All that
- 19:15Speaker 11: that's funded by the government would stop if Chuck Schumer
- 19:18Speaker 11: and Hkane Jeffreys and the Democrats have their way. The
- 19:20Speaker 11: Democrats shutdown would be damaging for the country. We can't
- 19:23Speaker 11: allow for it.
- 19:24Speaker 3: So here we are on the verge of a major shutdown.
- 19:28Speaker 3: The White House Office of Management Director Vought, saying, this
- 19:33Speaker 3: is something that the American be we need to understand,
- 19:35Speaker 3: is going to cost you a lot of money, all
- 19:38Speaker 3: because the demands of the Democrats.
- 19:41Speaker 8: We want to keep this government open. It is not
- 19:43Speaker 8: good for the American people to have the government shut
- 19:45Speaker 8: down for any period of time. We will manage it appropriately,
- 19:49Speaker 8: but it is something that can all be avoided. It
- 19:51Speaker 8: can all be avoided by accepting a reasonable position, which
- 19:55Speaker 8: is what the House has passed and what sits at
- 19:57Speaker 8: the Senate desk, which is to continue to fund the
- 19:59Speaker 8: DI with a short term continuing resolution. It has never
- 20:04Speaker 8: been a viewpoint that one and a half trillion dollars
- 20:08Speaker 8: is a reasonable amount of spending to be included on
- 20:11Speaker 8: a short term cr.
- 20:13Speaker 10: This is hostage taking.
- 20:14Speaker 8: It is not something that we are going to accept.
- 20:17Speaker 7: And we hope.
- 20:18Speaker 8: That the Democrats come back from the brink fund this
- 20:21Speaker 8: government and allow us to move forward. Thank you.
- 20:23Speaker 4: We want to So here we are.
- 20:25Speaker 3: We are in a moment where the government is about
- 20:27Speaker 3: to be shut down, and a shutdown will happen for
- 20:31Speaker 3: one main reason, because Chuck Schumer needs to stand up
- 20:34Speaker 3: to AOC and the radical left and show that he
- 20:37Speaker 3: can be just as extreme as they are. During the
- 20:43Speaker 3: Biden administration, there were thirteen threatened shutdowns. The Republicans in
- 20:50Speaker 3: the minority did the right thing. They kept the government open.
- 20:54Speaker 3: And what Chuck Schumer has been asked is this, they're
- 20:58Speaker 3: asking the Democrats to do this. They're not willing to
- 21:02Speaker 3: do it all because of a one point five trillion
- 21:08Speaker 3: dollar hostage plan.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Ransom. That is what this is.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And Chuck Schumer making it clear in thirteen seconds. We
- 21:17Speaker 3: have very large differences on healthcare, Yes we do. Democrats
- 21:24Speaker 3: want taxpayers to fund free healthcare for illegals and Republicans
- 21:28Speaker 3: do not. So here we are and the National Economic
- 21:32Speaker 3: Council Kevin Hassett saying since President Trump took office, capital spending,
- 21:37Speaker 3: equipment spending, which is the stuff that really drives wage growth,
- 21:41Speaker 3: is up seven percent. There's a massive investment boom and
- 21:45Speaker 3: that's why we're seeing GDP growth and Democrats hate that
- 21:50Speaker 3: and they want to stifen the economy as well, and
- 21:53Speaker 3: they clearly believe this is another way to do that.
