- 2:03Speaker 7: Good morning everybody. If y'all listening to the voice, come
- 2:06Speaker 7: on dig me now. One of them is Steve Harvey
- 2:09Speaker 7: got a radio show. Yeah, man boy, God has been
- 2:14Speaker 7: good to me. Man, I can't really count at all.
- 2:19Speaker 7: You can't either, You know, it's all in perspective. You
- 2:21Speaker 7: really can't count all that God has done for you
- 2:25Speaker 7: if you look at every little thing. It's unbelievable the
- 2:29Speaker 7: things He's done for us. How many times, you know,
- 2:32Speaker 7: we got through something without even talking to him about it.
- 2:35Speaker 7: He just he just blessed us with it. How many
- 2:38Speaker 7: you know? It's just it's so much that the fact
- 2:41Speaker 7: that you wake up in the morning, the fact that
- 2:43Speaker 7: you still have a place to stay, the fact that
- 2:46Speaker 7: you know may be struggling out here, but guess what,
- 2:48Speaker 7: you still going to work. You know you live in
- 2:51Speaker 7: check to check. But you're making it all. You got
- 2:53Speaker 7: all the plates spinning. You know, it's hard. You got
- 2:56Speaker 7: a lot of plate spinning, but you keep him up
- 2:57Speaker 7: there somemer every now and there in one break, but
- 2:59Speaker 7: he put two more back up there to look a
- 3:01Speaker 7: little bit better, and you got to get to spending
- 3:03Speaker 7: them so it all works. And then you got a
- 3:06Speaker 7: lot of people who just can't seem to mentally put
- 3:11Speaker 7: it together as to you know, why their life isn't
- 3:15Speaker 7: in a position that they wanted to be. We talk
- 3:18Speaker 7: about this oftentimes, but I don't want to try another
- 3:20Speaker 7: angle with you to day.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You know, maybe it's you. Have you ever thought about that?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Maybe it's you.
- 3:31Speaker 7: Maybe it's no external force that's at fault, like you
- 3:34Speaker 7: keep making the excuse to be. You know, so many
- 3:38Speaker 7: people out here, Well, if this hadn't ha done this,
- 3:40Speaker 7: if he hadn't have done that, if she hadn't have
- 3:42Speaker 7: done that, I would have been further along. I wasted
- 3:46Speaker 7: all my time, my years with this man, and he
- 3:49Speaker 7: did this, and I could have been here, and I
- 3:51Speaker 7: could have been there, and this woman she did this
- 3:54Speaker 7: to mean, if she hadn't have done that, I could
- 3:57Speaker 7: have been here and I could have been there.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Maybe it's you.
- 4:02Speaker 7: Maybe it's not really that external force that you keep
- 4:05Speaker 7: making it out to be. See, I've done this to
- 4:09Speaker 7: myself before. Once again, I'm talking to you about something
- 4:14Speaker 7: I know about. I've done this to myself before. I've
- 4:18Speaker 7: had the reason I wasn't where I wanted to be.
- 4:22Speaker 7: I had it figured out as some external force. I
- 4:27Speaker 7: had worked it out in my mind. Clearly it wasn't
- 4:30Speaker 7: me because of so and so, or if this hadn't happen,
- 4:35Speaker 7: and if they hadn't have done this, I would have
- 4:37Speaker 7: been further along up the road.
- 4:39Speaker 2: That's what I was saying. But hold on, man, boy
- 4:42Speaker 2: learned a valuable lesson. Man.
- 4:45Speaker 7: See, if you don't ever let it go, it's gonna
- 4:51Speaker 7: be hard for you to go. If you don't ever
- 4:57Speaker 7: let it go, it's gonna be hard for you to go.
- 5:01Speaker 7: I was listening to Bishop td Jake's one day and
- 5:04Speaker 7: I heard him say, you can't drive your car if
- 5:10Speaker 7: you gonna keep looking in the rear view mirror. You
- 5:14Speaker 7: go outside and try that. Try to drive your car,
- 5:17Speaker 7: but keep your eye in the rear view mirror. All
- 5:20Speaker 7: you looking at is where you're being all you're looking
- 5:24Speaker 7: at in that rear view mirror is where you passed
- 5:27Speaker 7: or should have passed, something you should have moved on from.
- 5:31Speaker 7: All you're doing is looking in that rear view mirror
- 5:33Speaker 7: at what happened back now.
- 5:36Speaker 2: If you don't stop.
- 5:38Speaker 7: Looking in the rear view mirror, you're gonna crash your
- 5:40Speaker 7: car over and over and over again.
- 5:45Speaker 2: All you got to slow it down so bad in
- 5:49Speaker 2: order for you to keep looking in that rear view mirror.
- 5:53Speaker 7: If you don't learn to let it go, it's gonna
- 5:58Speaker 7: be hard for you to go forward because you keep
- 6:03Speaker 7: reviewing the past.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The past is the past, and I know it's hard. Man.
- 6:08Speaker 7: I watched a show and this lady said, well, I
- 6:11Speaker 7: just can't ever forgive them for that, or guess what,
- 6:15Speaker 7: Guess what.
- 6:17Speaker 2: God may have already forgiven that person. That person may be.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Extremely remorseful, could have gone to God and gotten forgiveness
- 6:25Speaker 7: for it years ago. But you you sit here and
- 6:31Speaker 7: you keep hanging on to the back. I can't ever
- 6:34Speaker 7: forgive that. Then I heard Bishop Jakes come on the
- 6:38Speaker 7: show one time and say something that really really struck home.
- 6:42Speaker 7: You keep drinking the poison, waiting on your enemy to die.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He said that.
- 6:50Speaker 7: I just shook my head and went, wow, you drinking
- 6:54Speaker 7: the poison. Waiting on your enemy to die. Revenge is
- 6:59Speaker 7: poisoned to you. You know, if hatred is poison to you. Unforgivingness,
- 7:09Speaker 7: when you won't forgive a person, that person could be
- 7:12Speaker 7: going on with they life made the right with God.
- 7:16Speaker 7: Don't know how you feeling they skipping through life. Now
- 7:19Speaker 7: you make adjustments every time you see them. And it
- 7:21Speaker 7: takes energy. Man, it takes so much energy to hate.
- 7:25Speaker 7: It takes so much energy not to forgive to Now
- 7:29Speaker 7: they come in the room. You got to avoid them.
- 7:31Speaker 7: Stay over here, Oh here they come. Now you got
- 7:34Speaker 7: to make a situation over here. They come into the house,
- 7:37Speaker 7: this family reunion. Oh here they come. Or where they're
- 7:40Speaker 7: gonna be in the basement. I'm going to be on
- 7:41Speaker 7: the third floor. I want to go out here and
- 7:43Speaker 7: get some barbecue. She out there at the barbecue staying,
- 7:45Speaker 7: Oh lord, I don't want a barbecue. I just eat
- 7:47Speaker 7: to take a salad. People man take themselves all out
- 7:50Speaker 7: of position, trying to make adjustments, when if you it
- 7:54Speaker 7: would simplify your life, if you.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Would let just let it go.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Maybe you ain't where you need to be because of
- 8:02Speaker 7: them external forces altogether. Maybe you not where you need
- 8:07Speaker 7: to because of you, cause you won't let it go,
- 8:11Speaker 7: you won't move forward. Look at this, ladies, Let's say
- 8:14Speaker 7: you've been in a situation with a man for years.
- 8:18Speaker 7: It didn't work out. For whatever the reason, it just
- 8:21Speaker 7: didn't work out. I got what you say he did.
- 8:25Speaker 7: I got what he did, I got he all of that, YadA,
- 8:28Speaker 7: YadA YadA. When you get through, did not God get
- 8:33Speaker 7: you through it? Did not he allow you to survive it.
- 8:39Speaker 7: I got you, got some cuts on you, I got
- 8:42Speaker 7: you been a little bit bruised. But did he not
- 8:45Speaker 7: get you through it? So, now that he's freed you
- 8:49Speaker 7: from it, now he done went on. He got a
- 8:50Speaker 7: whole nother family over there somewhere. Now, he trying to
- 8:54Speaker 7: make it right because maybe he learned the mistake he made,
- 8:57Speaker 7: and now he trying to be a better man. He
- 8:59Speaker 7: just trying to get it right now. But you sitting
- 9:01Speaker 7: there holding on to it, you drinking the poison, waiting
- 9:05Speaker 7: on your enemy to die. So now, instead of you
- 9:08Speaker 7: enjoying the blessing of finally being free from a situation
- 9:11Speaker 7: that was not healthy for you, you create an even
- 9:14Speaker 7: more unhealthy situation in your mind, by hating, by having
- 9:18Speaker 7: revengeful thoughts, by hoping he fall on his face. Maybe
- 9:23Speaker 7: you even doing something to the other situation to make
- 9:26Speaker 7: sure they struggle. Oh man, you drinking the poison, waiting
- 9:30Speaker 7: on your enemy to die. Maybe you ain't where you
- 9:33Speaker 7: ought to be in life, not because of your external forces,
- 9:36Speaker 7: but maybe it is you. If you don't let it go,
- 9:41Speaker 7: it's gonna be hard for you to go. You can't
- 9:44Speaker 7: keep driving your car looking in the rear view mirror.
- 9:49Speaker 7: Come on, man, Forgiveness is not for the other person.
- 9:54Speaker 7: Forgiveness is for you.

- 10:23Speaker 7: and you went in. Please, These are the people I'm

- 10:33Speaker 7: don't do ignorance stuff for no reason, Thank you very much.
- 10:36Speaker 7: People that live their life into what iff which avoids
- 10:40Speaker 7: you from a lot of trouble.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Thank you for that.
- 10:42Speaker 7: Everybody with common sense who's ever looked at a book
- 10:45Speaker 7: knowledge person and win. You got to be the stupidest

- 11:10Speaker 7: and the legend that he is. Nephew, Tommy Junior, what's
- 11:13Speaker 7: happening with you today?
- 11:14Speaker 8: Man?
- 11:15Speaker 3: What's going on? I want to ask you something, man,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and I just want to get a serious take from
- 11:20Speaker 3: you on this.
- 11:21Speaker 9: Man.
- 11:21Speaker 10: Have you ever had a pressure to compromise your integrity
- 11:25Speaker 10: for some money? And how'd you handle it?
- 11:28Speaker 2: Well? Yeah, I can answer that.
- 11:31Speaker 7: I think everybody's been at one point, especially in this
- 11:36Speaker 7: business or in life, somewhere along your way or your
- 11:41Speaker 7: job even somebody has been presented with an opportunity that
- 11:45Speaker 7: didn't fit their character. I guess I think it's better
- 11:50Speaker 7: to put it that way, because you know, some people
- 11:52Speaker 7: haven't been offered money to go do this. Let me
- 11:57Speaker 7: just try to help you, Junior. I've done everything I've

- 12:18Speaker 7: was not higher. Oh you know, man, I've managed. The
- 12:24Speaker 7: one thing I'm proud of, and I praise God for it.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I really really do.
- 12:29Speaker 7: Is He's made me a man of character and I
- 12:33Speaker 7: will not I will not change my character for a price.
- 12:38Speaker 7: My character, my word is not for sale, and I
- 12:43Speaker 7: just won't do it, man, because at the end of
- 12:45Speaker 7: the day, when the money is spent, you have to
- 12:48Speaker 7: sit there and live with yourself. And I'm very grateful
- 12:52Speaker 7: to God to be able to say that I've never
- 12:56Speaker 7: sacrificed my character for money, or sacrifice my character and
- 13:03Speaker 7: who I was raised to be by my parents for
- 13:05Speaker 7: a position. I've just never done it. Man, I'm really
- 13:10Speaker 7: really proud of that. But I'm proud of it because
- 13:13Speaker 7: I'm grateful because God has had the mangels sitting on
- 13:16Speaker 7: my shoulders going no, you're not, No, you're not a devil.

- 26:00Speaker 2: Why would you not.
- 26:02Speaker 8: Ten times in twelve years that that is wonderful? Like

- 26:15Speaker 2: You know what's really amazing? Surely?
- 26:19Speaker 7: I mean what yet a person with the size of

- 27:05Speaker 8: to see if I'll take the bait. Lord knows I
- 27:08Speaker 8: need a raise, so should I go for it and

- 27:44Speaker 1: She's gonna take the bait.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Wow.
- 27:46Speaker 7: But but that goes back to the question that Junior
- 27:50Speaker 7: asked me this morning at the Old One. Have you
- 27:53Speaker 7: ever sold your integrity for some money?
- 27:57Speaker 8: Ow?
- 27:58Speaker 2: Yeah, let me say this.
- 28:03Speaker 9: I ain't.

- 28:09Speaker 1: But everybody has a project.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Girl come up to me, I am a jiggalow.
- 28:16Speaker 1: And she brushes up against your butt and smiles.
- 28:23Speaker 2: All right, we're going to do something goodness.
- 28:30Speaker 8: Well, keep your job though, all right? Last one, clo,
- 28:35Speaker 8: Last one. This is from Raj in Memphis. Raj writes,
- 28:39Speaker 8: my wife is easily irritated by everything I do, and
- 28:43Speaker 8: she's constantly correcting me. I haven't changed since she met me,
- 28:48Speaker 8: but all of a sudden, I'm annoying. She talks to
- 28:51Speaker 8: me like I'm her son. Sometimes. Should I avoid being
- 28:54Speaker 8: around her for a while?
- 28:56Speaker 2: Wow? No, that's not gonna fix it.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Man.
- 28:58Speaker 7: Y'all need to talk. Y'all need to sit down and talk.
- 29:00Speaker 7: You got a problem every you think you're not changed
- 29:05Speaker 7: everything you do.
- 29:06Speaker 6: See.
- 29:07Speaker 7: You may think you've not changed, and you may have
- 29:09Speaker 7: in ways that you don't know, but she has changed.
- 29:13Speaker 7: Any time you with somebody over a period of time,
- 29:16Speaker 7: the two of you are going to change. That's why
- 29:20Speaker 7: you gotta constantly talk because the people that you change
- 29:22Speaker 7: into may not like each other anymore.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And she's there, she don't like you no more. And
- 29:30Speaker 2: if y'all don't fix.
- 29:32Speaker 4: This, don't get worse ignoring it? Right, Yeah, everything, Tommy,
- 29:42Speaker 4: did you say s gets bad?
- 29:44Speaker 2: Did you?
- 29:45Speaker 5: Just?
- 29:45Speaker 2: I said it gets bad? It gets worse? Okay, like
- 29:53Speaker 2: that and just yeah, but you know that's how you
- 29:56Speaker 2: do it at the time you say stuff get mad.
- 30:08Speaker 1: But you were going to applot him found like Steve.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Man a good show, all.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, all right, thank you, Clo, great advice.
- 30:23Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 30:23Speaker 8: Coming up at the top of the hour, we will
- 30:26Speaker 8: have some entertainment news for you right after this.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It's a good show. You're listening, Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:38Speaker 8: We got to do a big shout out to the
- 30:40Speaker 8: Wayans Brothers, Keenan Marlin, and Sean Scary movie. Yes, it's
- 30:45Speaker 8: shattering box office records, bringing in over one hundred and
- 30:50Speaker 8: five million dollars worldwide.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where their opening weekend. Yeah yeah wow uh.
- 30:57Speaker 8: According to Yahoo dot com, the movie earned fifty five
- 31:00Speaker 8: million domestically and fifty zero point five million overseas. Scary
- 31:05Speaker 8: Movie six is a parody horror film, of course. It
- 31:07Speaker 8: stars Marlon and Sean Wayans. It stars our Girl, Regina Hall,
- 31:12Speaker 8: Keenan Thompson, Tanna Taylor Shack, and Anthony Anderson. Marlon Wayan
- 31:18Speaker 8: said that they asked Cardi b To be in the movie,
- 31:21Speaker 8: but she turned it down.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Woo wow, yeah she did.
- 31:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 31:27Speaker 8: So here's a question, and Steve, you have been watching
- 31:31Speaker 8: a lot of movies lately, Tommy, you're a movie guy.
- 31:34Speaker 8: Which movie would you guys like to see rebooted or
- 31:38Speaker 8: a sequel.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Of which ones? Which movie.
- 31:43Speaker 1: You've been watching a lot of movies? Braveheart too, Steve?
- 31:48Speaker 2: Or not a kill my man?
- 31:50Speaker 1: So the movie.
- 31:59Speaker 2: What about this?
- 32:00Speaker 9: Was the uh Apocketlypto with Jaguar Paul Remember that show?
- 32:06Speaker 2: We love this movie? Yes?
- 32:11Speaker 7: Hell yeah, man, I'm finn to watch that again because
- 32:15Speaker 7: I have completely forgot.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I can watch that movie right now, be like I
- 32:19Speaker 2: never was.
- 32:22Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, what movie?
- 32:24Speaker 2: That was directed by Mail Gibbs a good show, Junior.
- 32:28Speaker 3: How they how they thought about a color purple too?
- 32:31Speaker 2: Anything like they did do they redid.
- 32:34Speaker 1: It, reimagined what they called it.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a musical, not catch up. Yeah I
- 32:42Speaker 2: already did that.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Well, yeah it was reimagined. Yeah, I ain't no two, Junior.
- 32:47Speaker 2: They're gonna do the Joey reunion to it. That is
- 32:51Speaker 2: a movie.
- 32:52Speaker 8: That's not a movie, that's a musical. All right, all right,
- 33:01Speaker 8: you all think about that for a little bit. And
- 33:04Speaker 8: the other news Lebron James. Congratulations to him. He has
- 33:08Speaker 8: been named Times Athlete of the Century, not the year,
- 33:13Speaker 8: the century. I love, that's one hundred years.
- 33:16Speaker 5: You know what.
- 33:16Speaker 7: That's what I was that you remember earlier this year,
- 33:19Speaker 7: I said, I finally figured out how I must squashed
- 33:22Speaker 7: the debate, and I said that if I was Lebron,
- 33:27Speaker 7: I would have my I would let Michael have that
- 33:29Speaker 7: the greatest basketball player of all time, because he was.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Time.
- 33:35Speaker 7: Lebron James is the greatest athlete of any professional sports
- 33:41Speaker 7: I've ever seen. Nobody has done this which this man
- 33:45Speaker 7: has done for this length of time. I think this
- 33:47Speaker 7: is great.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I would really get this.
- 33:50Speaker 2: The greatest basketball player ever me personally. Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 8: It was in the list of one hundred most Influential
- 33:57Speaker 8: people in Sports Now. In the article, Lebron reed on
- 34:00Speaker 8: his career, steed, his longevity, and the debate over the goat.
- 34:05Speaker 8: He said, in part quote, I'm not taking nobody over me.
- 34:10Speaker 8: That Lebron's words. Yes, he also said that, yeah, and
- 34:22Speaker 8: people are you know, are saying is he going to retire?
- 34:24Speaker 8: When is he going to retire? All that, He said
- 34:26Speaker 8: that his decision to retire will depend on whether he
- 34:30Speaker 8: still loves the grind of training and competing.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Okay, so you know you got to do that every year,
- 34:36Speaker 1: you know.
- 34:36Speaker 8: And all that Time Magazine said they selected Lebron James's
- 34:40Speaker 8: Athlete of the twenty first century based on his record
- 34:43Speaker 8: breaking career, longevity and excellence, his global impact, his influence
- 34:49Speaker 8: beyond basketball, philanthropy, activism, and entrepreneurship.
- 34:54Speaker 1: So, I mean he's all of those things. Athlete of
- 34:59Speaker 1: the century.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Absolutely he deserves that.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but I love that. I'm not taking nobody over
- 35:08Speaker 1: me over me.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Not one. I can dig that. But I'm gonna pick
- 35:16Speaker 2: Jordan as.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Far as basta.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Playing the game.
- 35:23Speaker 7: But this brother's career man has been phenomenal. Man, I'm
- 35:28Speaker 7: to play at this level of expertise for this long.
- 35:32Speaker 7: How does he he played long enough to get his
- 35:35Speaker 7: son in the league?
- 35:39Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 35:41Speaker 5: You know.
- 35:41Speaker 7: And there's a little internet thing going around that his
- 35:44Speaker 7: other son is gonna declare for the draft and Lebron
- 35:48Speaker 7: is trying to figure out a way to get him
- 35:50Speaker 7: all three of them on the floor. But it's just
- 35:54Speaker 7: some internet stuff.
- 35:57Speaker 1: James, Boys, Rice and Brannie.
- 36:04Speaker 8: Yeah, that that is phenomenal, all right, Yeah, I mean philanthropy,
- 36:09Speaker 8: I mean he gives, he's you know, an activist, he's
- 36:13Speaker 8: an entrepreneur.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You know, you can go on and on.
- 36:16Speaker 8: He's had TV shows, he's you know, yeah, that's right.
- 36:23Speaker 8: I mean, this guy is amazing.
- 36:24Speaker 1: He really is.
- 36:25Speaker 8: You can't take anything away from him. So Athlete of
- 36:29Speaker 8: the Century, we all agree, we.
- 36:32Speaker 2: All the whole school.
- 36:33Speaker 3: He got a whole school.
- 36:35Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I mean the list goes on and on.
- 36:38Speaker 8: You're absolutely right, the list goes on and on.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So well, let let's wrap this up.
- 36:43Speaker 7: Because you have a tendency of as your praise and
- 36:47Speaker 7: worship goes on, you slipped into the next thing.
- 36:50Speaker 2: You know, He's gonna be the past in a minute.
- 36:52Speaker 1: So why are we just I'm not going to say that.
- 36:55Speaker 2: So do you do that?
- 36:58Speaker 5: You know.
- 37:00Speaker 2: All the time, all the time. All right, he's not
- 37:06Speaker 2: with us, He's.
- 37:09Speaker 5: Still here.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I know he's still here.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Coming up in.
- 37:12Speaker 8: Twenty minutes after grandparents don't want to help babysit, we'll
- 37:16Speaker 8: talk about it right after this. So true, you're listening
- 37:21Speaker 8: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Think about the people who mean
- 37:29Speaker 8: the most to you. Giving them valuable protection is a
- 37:32Speaker 8: great gift you can offer, and Globe Life Insurance can
- 37:36Speaker 8: make it easy. With Globe Life coverage, there's no medical exam,
- 37:39Speaker 8: just a simple application. Take this step for the people
- 37:43Speaker 8: you love. Call Globe Life at one eight hundred two
- 37:46Speaker 8: five one fifty four hundred, or visit globelifradio dot com.
- 37:49Speaker 8: That's one eight hundred two five one fifty four hundred
- 37:53Speaker 8: or globelifradio dot com. Your millennials are choosing to have
- 37:57Speaker 8: kids these days, and many are blaming it on the parents. Specifically,
- 38:01Speaker 8: they say they can't count on their parents to babysit
- 38:05Speaker 8: their grandkids. Many families live far apart, and even when
- 38:09Speaker 8: grandparents are nearby, they may be less available, either by
- 38:13Speaker 8: choice or necessity. Some older adults want to enjoy retirement,
- 38:18Speaker 8: while others simply can't afford to stop working and don't
- 38:21Speaker 8: have enough savings to help out. That lack of support
- 38:24Speaker 8: can make raising kids even more expensive and stressful, especially
- 38:28Speaker 8: when childcare costs are already high.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Why are you sighing already, Steve?
- 38:34Speaker 5: I mean.
- 38:37Speaker 7: Generation man, dish your baby. Why are you trying to
- 38:42Speaker 7: put this off on your grandparents?
- 38:45Speaker 5: Man?
- 38:46Speaker 7: It's just it is indicative of what this generation is now.
- 38:53Speaker 7: They are just different, man, Yeah, yeah they are.
- 38:57Speaker 2: We'd have blamed a little bit.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Too, because we want them to have a better life
- 39:01Speaker 1: than way too much.
- 39:04Speaker 7: Okay, when you when you create a life for children
- 39:10Speaker 7: like we have a life of convenience, it causes them
- 39:16Speaker 7: to be this way. But you know, every generation has
- 39:21Speaker 7: got a little bit soft, Like I ain't. I ain't
- 39:23Speaker 7: as hard as my daddy. I just ain't think none
- 39:27Speaker 7: of us and we grow up, I mean, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 7: just as tough a man. I mean, we grew up
- 39:34Speaker 7: in hard times because we were poor growing up. But
- 39:38Speaker 7: I'm still my whole goal. I was still trying to
- 39:42Speaker 7: be more and more like my father.
- 39:44Speaker 8: Man.
- 39:44Speaker 7: This dude was worst dude with something else. Man, yeah,
- 39:48Speaker 7: it just work. He was a dog right here, and
- 39:53Speaker 7: now this generation man because of us. Tommy said it right.
- 39:57Speaker 7: We gave him a better life than the one we had,
- 40:00Speaker 7: and they took advantage of it, and now here they are.
- 40:02Speaker 7: So can't complain.
- 40:04Speaker 2: I mean, in my case, I couldn't. I couldn't run
- 40:06Speaker 2: to my daddy when I needed money, right.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Exactly exactly.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I was saying.
- 40:15Speaker 1: No, let me say this.
- 40:19Speaker 8: In my case, it was a little different. My mom
- 40:21Speaker 8: did help me tremendously raise Sheridan. I was a single
- 40:25Speaker 8: parent at the time. You know, Sheridan spent most of
- 40:28Speaker 8: her formative years with my mom. You know, I have
- 40:32Speaker 8: tremendous guilt about that. But I'm grateful to my mom
- 40:35Speaker 8: because she was able to help me. She was retired,
- 40:38Speaker 8: you know, I had to work. I was a single parent,
- 40:41Speaker 8: so she helped me and I'm forever grateful to her
- 40:44Speaker 8: for that. So, but this is different. I'm not the
- 40:47Speaker 8: same grandmother my mother was either with Sheridan's kids, with
- 40:50Speaker 8: my daughter's kids.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 40:53Speaker 9: You got you got twenty eight and thirty year olds
- 40:56Speaker 9: that I ain't left the house.
- 40:57Speaker 5: This is this is.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Well, Shirley, I don't know no gran, I don't know
- 41:04Speaker 2: no grand mama that can't cook.
- 41:05Speaker 8: So coming up at thirty four minutes after we'll have
- 41:12Speaker 8: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Whatever, Rannie we want do, Granny we want join?
- 41:19Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 41:27Speaker 5: Well.
- 41:27Speaker 8: According to the Black Information Network, a Texas teen named
- 41:31Speaker 8: Carmelo Anthony, who is now nineteen years old, was found
- 41:35Speaker 8: guilty of murder in in April of twenty twenty five
- 41:39Speaker 8: in the stabbing death of seventeen year old Austin Medcalf
- 41:42Speaker 8: during a high school track meet. Now this happened in Frisco, Texas.
- 41:46Speaker 8: The confrontation began when Anthony, who attended a different school,
- 41:50Speaker 8: was seated under a tent belonging to the victims Memorial
- 41:54Speaker 8: High School team during a rainy track meet. Multiple students
- 41:57Speaker 8: reportedly asked him to leave. When Metcalf told him to move,
- 42:02Speaker 8: Anthony reportedly reached into a bag and said, touch me
- 42:06Speaker 8: and see what happens. The defense argued that Anthony was
- 42:10Speaker 8: acting in self defense after Metcalf initiated physical contact. Anthony
- 42:15Speaker 8: fatally stabbed Metcalf once in the chest. The case has
- 42:19Speaker 8: sparked a debate about self defense, about race and justice.
- 42:23Speaker 8: Anthony was found guilty of murder and has been sentenced
- 42:27Speaker 8: to thirty five years in prison. He's nineteen. He's been
- 42:30Speaker 8: sentenced to thirty five years. The Next Generation Action Network
- 42:34Speaker 8: denounced the racial composition of the jury, noting that not
- 42:38Speaker 8: one juror is black. Carmelo Anthony, nineteen year olds years
- 42:43Speaker 8: old is black, and Ann the other guy.
- 42:47Speaker 7: You know, it's so many levels to this man that
- 42:51Speaker 7: I was discussing with a group of friends yesterday. Number one,
- 42:57Speaker 7: you know you feel for both of the parents. Yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 7: both of them are losing sons. Yes, one of the
- 43:08Speaker 7: sons the people will never ever be able to speak
- 43:10Speaker 7: to again. That's tragic. I understand the defense attempt to
- 43:20Speaker 7: go with self defense. I understand that. I'm not arguing
- 43:24Speaker 7: that one way or the other. What I wish man
- 43:29Speaker 7: was this generation goes to violence so quickly, but they
- 43:33Speaker 7: go to the violence that's end all in violence. They
- 43:36Speaker 7: stabbing and shooting right now. I would have loved to
- 43:40Speaker 7: this have benefits fighting yep, and be done. You know
- 43:44Speaker 7: I'm gonna bust you in your job. Put your hand
- 43:47Speaker 7: on me and see what happened, but it didn't. And
- 43:50Speaker 7: this is a tragedy all across the board. My god,
- 43:55Speaker 7: this little boy seventeen years old is dead, overstanding under
- 44:01Speaker 7: a tent in rainy conditions.
- 44:04Speaker 2: That attract me.
- 44:07Speaker 7: The black boy has to feel some kind of way,
- 44:10Speaker 7: because I'm pretty sure he felt threatened. I'm pretty sure
- 44:14Speaker 7: some kind of way, or at least that's what the
- 44:17Speaker 7: defense said.
- 44:19Speaker 2: But that reaction.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Man, young people, if I could say to young people,
- 44:24Speaker 7: please take a moment of pause before you commit a
- 44:29Speaker 7: violent act, because I'm pretty sure his intent was not
- 44:34Speaker 7: to kill him.
- 44:36Speaker 1: No, no, but man, man, walk away, walk away?
- 44:51Speaker 7: Man, you young people, we have to think, man, about
- 44:57Speaker 7: the consequences and repercussions.
- 45:00Speaker 2: This caught down. This cost a young man his life.
- 45:04Speaker 1: He's this boy dead, man, And isn't that the issue?
- 45:07Speaker 5: They do?
- 45:07Speaker 8: Don't think about the consequences, Steve, You.
- 45:10Speaker 7: Know, they just act too fast. I mentor these boys.
- 45:13Speaker 7: They're coming next this one, next week, they'll be here
- 45:16Speaker 7: next week.
- 45:17Speaker 5: Man.
- 45:18Speaker 2: This generation different, man, Yeah, this generation is different.
- 45:22Speaker 7: I'm talking to them about some basics, but a lot
- 45:25Speaker 7: of them don't have fathers, so they missed all the basics.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Now, some of these kids coming's just great kids. Man.
- 45:32Speaker 7: Some of these single mothers have done a great job
- 45:34Speaker 7: turning them into good citizens, sens law abiding people for God, fearing,
- 45:39Speaker 7: respectful of women. All that that's God, Thank you, thank
- 45:42Speaker 7: you Lord for them. Some of them, man is just
- 45:45Speaker 7: missing all of what a man do. And they think
- 45:48Speaker 7: manhood is wrapped up in a hand carrying a handgun,
- 45:51Speaker 7: defending yourself. Well, i'll put you down, boy. This ain't
- 45:55Speaker 7: no video game. No, when you put him down, he
- 45:58Speaker 7: don't get back up because you got to gold Kelly
- 46:01Speaker 7: and you go somewhere.
- 46:02Speaker 2: When you put him down, you don't get to keep playing.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Yeah, or a rap song video game. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
- 46:10Speaker 1: this is a horrible story. Yeah, all right.
- 46:13Speaker 8: Coming up next, we'll switch gears here and we'll hear
- 46:16Speaker 8: from the nephew with today's prank phone call. Right after this,
- 46:20Speaker 8: you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up
- 46:27Speaker 8: at the top of the hour, right about four minutes after.
- 46:29Speaker 8: It's my Strawberry letter for today, and the subject is
- 46:32Speaker 8: I love everything except that.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I can't wait to hear this or that.
- 46:40Speaker 8: We'll get into it and find out what it's all
- 46:42Speaker 8: about in just a few but right now, the nephew is.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Here with today's prank phone call, nephew, what you got?
- 46:48Speaker 9: You know, everybody cannot conceive very easily. Sometimes you need
- 46:52Speaker 9: a little help. You know what I'm saying. You guys
- 46:54Speaker 9: know that, you know sometimes in fertility, Yeah.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Till the issues?
- 47:01Speaker 2: Are you talking about this subject? I don't know, but
- 47:06Speaker 2: we got a couple that need a little help.
- 47:11Speaker 9: I feel like, you know, why don't I call and
- 47:14Speaker 9: off of my service that I can help the man
- 47:17Speaker 9: and his wife get pregnant.
- 47:20Speaker 1: A doctor? How can you help qualify?
- 47:23Speaker 2: All I need to do is be with the lady
- 47:26Speaker 2: for a weekend and by monday.
- 47:28Speaker 1: What are you saying right now?
- 47:30Speaker 2: I'm trying to help them.
- 47:32Speaker 9: See how if I'm gonna tell you again, if me
- 47:35Speaker 9: and Hunt get together for a weekend by monday, absolutely
- 47:40Speaker 9: by Monday. Listen, if you drop off on Thursday, I'm
- 47:45Speaker 9: telling you, by monday, there's gonna be a baby on.
- 47:48Speaker 1: The way something.
- 47:50Speaker 5: You hear him.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Having all the wrong places. Sometimes you got to look
- 47:56Speaker 2: in the area where you know. That's a that's a suggestion, Okay,
- 48:00Speaker 2: have a suggestion. That's all it is.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Come on, you would be the baby's father. You know
- 48:05Speaker 1: that right, So look at it like that, look at
- 48:07Speaker 1: the well.
- 48:09Speaker 3: You can look at it, But do you want a
- 48:10Speaker 3: baby or not?
- 48:12Speaker 2: He can't make one.
- 48:14Speaker 1: It ain't happening, Steve, come on.

- 52:33Speaker 5: saying you understand where'm coming from now. I don't sound
- 52:36Speaker 5: like you tell me you want to have sex with

- 53:57Speaker 5: she comes to church this week? And I'll see how

- 56:51Speaker 8: I love everything except that, Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm fifty
- 56:57Speaker 8: six and married to my soulmate. Grew up together and
- 57:01Speaker 8: dated in high school, but he got one of my
- 57:03Speaker 8: friends pregnant when we were high school seniors. We were young,
- 57:07Speaker 8: so I never held it against him, and we remained
- 57:10Speaker 8: friends for many years. He decided to spend the block
- 57:13Speaker 8: and date me again. Fifteen years ago. We got married
- 57:17Speaker 8: after dating for only three months because we already knew
- 57:20Speaker 8: each other very well.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Big mistake.
- 57:23Speaker 8: I have found out recently that this man has two
- 57:26Speaker 8: other kids, and they too, are by another one of
- 57:29Speaker 8: my high school friends. I also found out that he's
- 57:32Speaker 8: got a son that's sixteen years old, so he had
- 57:35Speaker 8: a woman pregnant while he was trying to get back
- 57:37Speaker 8: with me. All of this is troubling to me, so
- 57:40Speaker 8: I moved out temporarily to sort things out. My husband
- 57:43Speaker 8: thinks that he has everything under control and doesn't see
- 57:47Speaker 8: why I'm shocked to learn to just learn about his
- 57:51Speaker 8: other kids. He told me that all I should worry
- 57:54Speaker 8: about is our marriage and how well he treats me.
- 57:58Speaker 8: But it's not cool for him to send money monthly
- 58:00Speaker 8: to his younger children and not be present in their lives.
- 58:03Speaker 8: That doesn't sit well with me, and when I talk
- 58:05Speaker 8: about it, he gets angry. I have only I have
- 58:09Speaker 8: only met one of his stepchildren because he shuts me
- 58:12Speaker 8: down when I ask him to invite them over so
- 58:14Speaker 8: I can meet them. I love everything about my husband
- 58:18Speaker 8: except that what else has he left out about his past?
- 58:23Speaker 8: Is it a deal breaker after fifteen years of marriage?
- 58:26Speaker 8: Or should I work through this with him?
- 58:29Speaker 5: Well?
- 58:30Speaker 8: I do think you guys should try and work through this.
- 58:32Speaker 8: I mean, you've been there. You just found this out,
- 58:34Speaker 8: but you know, if he treats you well. But if
- 58:38Speaker 8: this is your choice, you don't have to. But if
- 58:40Speaker 8: this is your choice to stay in this marriage, the
- 58:43Speaker 8: question is does he want to? I mean, you said
- 58:45Speaker 8: he shuts you down and gets angry when you bring
- 58:48Speaker 8: it up, but you're just trying to do the right
- 58:50Speaker 8: thing here. At least he's paying child support, he's got
- 58:53Speaker 8: that going. He should want to have a relationship with
- 58:56Speaker 8: his kids, and he would be doing it with your blessing.
- 58:59Speaker 8: I mean that you know you want to meet them,
- 59:02Speaker 8: You want the kids to come over. You may have
- 59:05Speaker 8: been hurt to find out about the kids the way
- 59:07Speaker 8: you did, but you don't hold a grudge. And that's
- 59:09Speaker 8: okay because these things happened so long ago. I don't
- 59:13Speaker 8: like his attitude about it at all. He caused all
- 59:18Speaker 8: this and these were your friends, So what did he
- 59:22Speaker 8: think was going to happen when you found out you
- 59:24Speaker 8: were going to be upset. I mean, I think he
- 59:26Speaker 8: needs to try to understand you. He needs to stop
- 59:30Speaker 8: dismissing your feelings. Your feelings are valid. You're his wife.
- 59:33Speaker 8: He needs to fix this situation, make you feel good
- 59:36Speaker 8: about this situation, and to see if you want to
- 59:39Speaker 8: stay married to him.
- 59:40Speaker 7: Steve, Well, you know this letter has several things in
- 59:46Speaker 7: it that kind of throws me a bit, but I
- 59:50Speaker 7: asked everybody to kind of sometimes you can. Sometimes you
- 59:55Speaker 7: can use these letters of examples for yourselves, you know.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: You know, like as we were growing up, some people
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: would explain stuff to us to try to help us
- 1:00:06Speaker 7: avoid that particular pitfall. And it worked in some cases,
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: and then some kind we went on walk in it. Anyway,
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: that's life. But this lady right here said she's fifty six,
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: married to my soul mate. Grew up together, dated in
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: high school. He got one of my friends pregnant when
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: he was in high school.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: We were so young. I never held it against him.
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: Then they say, we remain friends for many years, and
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: then he decided to spend the block. And here's the
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: part right here, I want you to listen to this.
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: He decided to spend the block and date me again
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: fifteen years ago. Here's the part. We got married after
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: dating for only three months because we already knew each
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: other very well.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Oh did you?
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Did you? So you knew him very well?
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: Right right after that? Guess what you said? Big mistake,
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: because you found out you didn't know him at all.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: I found out recently this man got two other kids
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: and they are also by another one of my high
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: school friends. Your boy had a hell of a high
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: school year, and.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: He was in high school.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: He hadn't been in that been out of that sex
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: education class that long. If you're still in school, you
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: ain't listening condoms they talked in in In in elementary school,
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: we had sex education. One of the big topics in
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: there was a condom and what it did. Curious, But
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: inactive went to junior high became even more curious. I
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: didn't even have sex in high school. Very troubling years.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: For sharing. O.
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: Lord, I was troubled. I was a proud and ashamed
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: to say, then they get this. I was proud and
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: ashamed to say, uh huh that. Since then, I.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Have made up for all the those in my head. Yeah.
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: But lady, so you found out that you didn't really
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: know him after all, and all this is troubling to you.
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: So you say you moved out to sort things out.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: Your husband said he got everything under control, and he
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: don't see why you shocked to learn about these other kids.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Why would we not be? Of course she's shocked. She
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: thought she knew you.
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: She thought after y'all got together fifteen years later, y'all
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: only needed to date three months because you're her soul mate,
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: and she knew you, and she found out she ain't
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: know nothing. He said, don't worry about none of this
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: except how I treat you. And then when we come back,
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: I'm gonna give you how feel about this man not
- 1:03:01Speaker 7: having a relationship with his kids.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Steve.
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:03:08Speaker 8: twenty three minutes after the hour Today's Strawberry letter, subject
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: I love everything except that. We'll get back into it
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: Everybody's your favorite play cousin Junior.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: We need to talk.
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: You're playing on getting gas at the same station again,
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: but there's a lower price around the corner gas. But
- 1:03:33Speaker 10: he's been a trusted source for over twenty five years
- 1:03:35Speaker 10: helping drivers save millions.
- 1:03:38Speaker 15: Plus.

- 1:03:55Speaker 8: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: The subject is I love everything except that.
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: Yeah, this lady David, this man in high school. They
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: were high school sweethearts. She's saying, she's claimed that she's
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: married her soulmate, or while they was in school, got
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: one of her girlfriends pregnant.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: They was young. She ain't think nothing of it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: Later on, fifteen years later, they reconnected and after three
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: months of talking, they got married because she said, we
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: already knew each other. This is my soulmate, so we
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: already knew each other. We got married right after that.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: She said, big mistake, because then she found out that
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: he had two other children that he had while he
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: was in high school with two of her other friends.
- 1:04:46Speaker 7: I said, boy had a hell of high school. And
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: then one thing led to another. She confronted him about it.
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: He can't believe she's shocked about this having these other kids,
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: and wants her to just chill out and just think
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: about how I treat you, But she said it doesn't
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: sit well with him with her because he sends monthly
- 1:05:15Speaker 7: money to his younger children and not be present in
- 1:05:19Speaker 7: their lives.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: That don't sit well with me. When I talk about it,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: he gets angry.
- 1:05:24Speaker 7: Let me say this to the men out there, and
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: I'm not coming down at you because I've been in
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: this situation. Brothers, if you're not in your child's life,
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: you're hurting two people. You're hurting the child, and you're
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: hurting yourself. And I'm just telling you, man, it ain't
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: worth it. I know that sometimes these women can use
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: children as pawns.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: Then they thought if you ain't paid no money, you
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: be hind on your child support. All of that that
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: the children don't know any of this information. All the
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: child is sitting there is wondering why don't my daddy
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: call me? Because they see it on TV, they see
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: it in the movies. And all he wants to know,
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: or she wants to know, is why won't my daddy
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: call me? Why don't he love me? Why don't he
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: talk to me? Why don't he like me? And it
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: is really hurting your child, fellas. But I'm gonna tell
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: you something, brother, it's hurting you. I know, man, I
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: know how that is. I did it for a while.
- 1:06:38Speaker 7: You've got to get yourself together and make the concerted
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: effort to get in your child's life. It would mean
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: the world to them. Because I'm gonna let you know
- 1:06:48Speaker 7: this now. God is not going to let you off
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: the hook from your responsibility. He's just not gonna do it. So, fellas,
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: we got to do better. If you have a child,
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: make a move, try to spend some time with them.
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: They don't know you behind on your child payments. They
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: don't know that the mom is using him as a pond.
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: They don't know you can't stand her, she can't stand you.
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: All they know is they got a daddy somewhere and
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: they don't have a daddy. So, brothers, I'm telling you, man,
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: whatever you got to do. Get in contact with your
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: children and start sending them texts, Start asking them questions,
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: start encouraging them.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: It will mean the world to them. Show up at
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: their games.
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: Man, I can't tell you how many boys I come
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: to the camp, sitting there crying, crying. Man, my dad
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: ain't never came to my game, mister Harvey. My dadd
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: ain't never gave me a Christmas gift, mister Harvey. He
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: ain't in prison or nothing. My dad ain't never came
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: to see me. He didn't talk to me. I sat
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: there waiting, look it out the window.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: He never came.
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: I can't tell you the pain I deal whatever you
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: these boys, we got an opportunity to stop there now.
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: I just took this letter to say something like that,
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: because this young man in this letter is not having
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: an open relationship with his kids. You gotta do that.
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: And he gave me an opportunity to get on the
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: soapbox and say this. I know it's hard, brothers, but
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: we got to do better, man, Okay.
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: And yes, I wanted to ask you, it's commendable that
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: his wife wants to meet the children and wants him
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: to be a part of their lives.
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: That's crazy, man, because for your new wife to say, hey, look,
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: and she said in the letter, she said, I've only
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: met one of my step children because he shuts me
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: down when I ask him to invite them over so
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: I can meet them. See, he's thinking it's another confrontation coming. No, man,
- 1:08:48Speaker 7: you married a woman, man that's trying to make it
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: easier for you to have relationship with your kids because
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: she said it don't sit well with her. You send
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: the money to your younger kids, but you ain't got
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: no relations with him because brothers, I'm gonna tell you
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: right now, not only do they not know that they're
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: being used as a pawd, not only do they not
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: know you ain't up on child support. I got some
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: more news for you. They don't even know you sending
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: child support. They don't even know what that means, and
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: they don't care. They just won't they.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: Daddy. This woman has gone out of her way to make.
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: Advanced and now she's worried. I love everything about my
- 1:09:31Speaker 7: husband except that. Well that's a big dat not to love. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:35Speaker 7: what what else has he left out? I've got some
- 1:09:38Speaker 7: most stuff. Is this a deal breaker after fifteen years?
- 1:09:41Speaker 11: No?
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: If he treats you good and all like this, you
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: might be just a catalyst. He needs to work through
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: this thing and get back in them kids' lives. So
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: fight for it.
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: Try to help him, get him to understand, sit him
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: down talk calmly, change your tone.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Maybe that a tricky you know?

- 1:11:51Speaker 7: how you can't speak on.
- 1:11:54Speaker 10: Serena had been going from tennis for one thousand, three

- 1:12:00Speaker 10: and the greatest and I mean the greatest tennis player
- 1:12:02Speaker 10: up all time. I don't see anybody else taking that
- 1:12:05Speaker 10: the goat. Also, Angel Reeves made her come back in Chicago.
- 1:12:09Speaker 10: Did y'all see Angel Reeves ball out and she at
- 1:12:12Speaker 10: the letter dream took on the Chicago Sky and her

- 1:14:01Speaker 8: Coming up at the top of the hour, a woman

- 1:14:07Speaker 8: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This is
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: from Felicia on Steve Harvey FM. Valicia says, my husband
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: has been acting different for the last couple of months,
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: and I know something is bothering him. He's more distracted,
- 1:14:25Speaker 8: less talkative, and seems like he's weighed down by something.
- 1:14:28Speaker 8: But whenever I ask what's going on, he insists he's
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: just under a lot of stress at work. A friend
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: of mine works at the same company and says she's
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: not aware of anything unusual happening there that would explain
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: that would explain his behavior. I want to support him,
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: but I can't help with the problem he won't share.
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: Should I push him harder? For answers or just let
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: him be.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Well, let me explain something to you.
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: Number one, your little girlfriend out at your job, ain't
- 1:14:58Speaker 7: got no clue what's going on with this. It could
- 1:15:01Speaker 7: be the pressure of everything. He has no one to
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: talk to about it. And what you need to do
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: is offer to be more of an assistance to it
- 1:15:11Speaker 7: instead of trying to find out what's wrong. Just find
- 1:15:15Speaker 7: a way, find a way to approach your man and
- 1:15:19Speaker 7: make it just a more easier entry point for him,
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: because most men don't like talking about what they're going through.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, give us an example of how she should approach
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: him as his wife.
- 1:15:32Speaker 7: She could say, hey, baby, how you doing? How you
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: feeling the day? Can I get you anything? I'm having
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: a problem have you Have you ever had anything like this?
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Darling?
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: It because I was having a problem. I just what
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: are your opinions on it? Try to try to ease
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: a different way into it. I don't know your husband,
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: so it's a lot of ways, just depending on how
- 1:15:53Speaker 7: the person is. It's really troubling me because I just
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: I just I want to be there for you and
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: you won't let me, and I'm just.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Everything I can't wife.
- 1:16:06Speaker 7: Yeah, tears work girl, tears work, and you cry in
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: front of your man. He got to fix that.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Immediately, she's saying, he's not.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: I'm telling me right now.
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, because like I tell people all the time,
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: you know this lady at my job was crying and
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: everybody was trying to gather around Miss Harvick. Can you
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: say something motivational her? That ain't my wife. I ain't
- 1:16:32Speaker 7: got nothing for her. I can't fix no woman. No really,
- 1:16:36Speaker 7: I can't fix nobody, no woman crying but mine. I
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: ain't got nothing else. I got four daughters and a wife.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: I ain't all.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: I'm out, but it's crying, tears work. Maybe if she
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: cried it well.
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: Her husband, let her husband call her and fix it.
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: I ain't got no room. But you know you got
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: you gotta gotta find an entry.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Point to the gay m okay, all right, all right,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: So we have time for another one. This is from PJ.
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: PJ says, every year for Mother's Day, the whole family
- 1:17:11Speaker 8: asked my wife what she wants, and she gets it.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Food, gives jewelry, alone time. It's all there for her
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: and she loves it.
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: Uh huh huh.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Every year, every year for Father's.
- 1:17:26Speaker 8: Day, I'm rarely asked, and when I am, I always
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: give the same answer. I want a substantial amount of
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: a loane time with absolutely nothing to do.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Instead, I get tools.
- 1:17:41Speaker 7: Wow, so you can take your thurday in their garage
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: and work on something by yourself.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Father's Day. Over, have we passed father? What
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: is Father's next Sunday? Not this Sunday?
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: Next?
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Oh, next Sunday?
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Okay, he says, you heard.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: None of us say nothing about it.
- 1:18:02Speaker 8: Didn't cancel, he says, this year, I'm serious about getting
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: some time to myself. But I don't want to come
- 1:18:09Speaker 8: across mean and ungrateful. So any suggestions for PJ. Steve,
- 1:18:15Speaker 8: we all guys.
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: Give us all those. I can't help you, PJ. I
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: don't know what to tell you. Listen, man, it's Father's Day.
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: It means nothing compared to Mother's Day. It never has,
- 1:18:29Speaker 7: it never will stop all these expectations on Father's Day
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: because they don't live up to the hype, which is
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: none existent anyway.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: I don't even know why we have Father's Day. Y'all
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: need to stop playing.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: We appreciate it. We appreciate dads and Father's out there
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: with you.
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: We can't tell.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: All right, we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: Show right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Morning Show. A dad was shocked. Wow, this story right here, guys.
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: A dad was shocked to discover his three year old
- 1:19:09Speaker 8: had cut up eighteen hundred dollars in one hundred dollars
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: bills while no one was looking, and this money was
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: to be used for a Nigerian family celebration. Anthony Kalajayi
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: walked in to find his little girl, Amelia, turning the
- 1:19:28Speaker 8: stack of cash into an arts and crafts project.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Look, daddy, it left him speechless.
- 1:19:38Speaker 8: The dad was shocked and angry, but thankfully, after showing
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: the bank of video of the money massacred, they reimbursed
- 1:19:44Speaker 8: the cash.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: So that's a good news. But his three year old
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: baby cut it up.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: She needed it.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Dollars you know, and scissors.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: You can take lord as a baby girl, I'll tell
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: you that right now. Yeah.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Why if it was a baby boy, what could be different?
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: You would need.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: These three?
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: He gonna get a not snatched in him?
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Ah, not at three, Steve.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: When do you start disciplining a child? You start spanking
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: in hand at two or three, don't you.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's very early. But snatching a not
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: not beat down.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: We're gonna spank that hand eighteen times.
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: Okay, okay, okay, snatch a loose knock?
- 1:20:35Speaker 8: Oh no, no, all right, at least they got that
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: money back, all right, Thank you, guys? Or not coming

- 1:22:19Speaker 8: you called him wimbley, and we were like, that's a stadium,
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: what do you mean? But they actually call him wimby.
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: So you were close. You were really close. I'm not
- 1:22:29Speaker 8: trying to be exact. I don't know, I know, but you.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Said wimbley and we clowned you about that. But but
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: he wited though you could. You were kind of right,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: you could when he I'm just saying you were close.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: You were kind of right, right?
- 1:22:47Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: Would you rather wear only flip flops the entire summer
- 1:22:52Speaker 8: or would you rather wear a suit to bid every
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: night in the summer?
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Flip flops? Every day, or a suit to bid every night.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: I'm going with the flip flops.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the entire summer.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm not in time. I'd have done it
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: a hundred times. A hundred times.
- 1:23:13Speaker 7: I'd have crawled in from the club and the Kings
- 1:23:17Speaker 7: and comedy scene, got up and went to the airport
- 1:23:22Speaker 7: in the exact.
- 1:23:23Speaker 16: Same well we was living, living roughing good sauce, said
- 1:23:33Speaker 16: Ed Berdie.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: We was all at the airport in the same.
- 1:23:37Speaker 8: Wrinkled All right, would you rather speak with only a
- 1:23:42Speaker 8: megaphone for a day or only write things down?
- 1:23:47Speaker 9: I don't mind writing things down, Okay, all right, So
- 1:23:51Speaker 9: I come from a generation and know how to write.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, cursive, all of that. Right, Yeah, what's wrong
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: with the megaphone?
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Why is I'm hollering at these people? Keep being the
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: I have one?
- 1:24:08Speaker 5: Do you use it?
- 1:24:09Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:24:09Speaker 13: Huh?
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: On the ranch all the time, especially doing my fishing
- 1:24:13Speaker 7: tournament and his breakfast time when it's lunchtime, when it's
- 1:24:17Speaker 7: fish time.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: What are you saying, Steve, You're just saying anything.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Come eat what you're saying, brothers?
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: Five more minutes of fishing mandatory breakfast, Five more minutes
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: of fishing.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Mandatory breakfast.
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: You've got the tournament has to stop at breakfast time
- 1:24:33Speaker 7: so everybody can go eat.
- 1:24:35Speaker 8: Okay, all right, all right, guys, thank you, coming up,
- 1:24:38Speaker 8: last break of the day, and we'll close out the
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: show with the one and only Steve Harvey.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: Everybody's your favorite play cousin Junior, we need to talk.
- 1:24:55Speaker 10: You're playing on getting gas at the same station again,
- 1:24:57Speaker 10: but there's a lower price around the corner gas. But
- 1:25:00Speaker 10: he's been a trusted source for over twenty five years
- 1:25:03Speaker 10: helping drivers save millions. Plus, you can earn points in
- 1:25:06Speaker 10: the app for an extra ten cents a gallon off
- 1:25:09Speaker 10: just for playing games or even dining out. Stop overpaying

- 1:25:15Speaker 10: be saving money. Download the free Gas Buddy app today.
- 1:25:20Speaker 10: Choose your road to savings.
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: All right, guys, here we are. This is our last
- 1:25:25Speaker 8: break of the day. The show is almost done. Thank
- 1:25:29Speaker 8: you for listening. We appreciate it. Steve, give us some
- 1:25:32Speaker 8: closing remarks please, Hey, you know what.
- 1:25:35Speaker 7: This is for young people, oh grown men too. I
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: want you all to think about this. You know in
- 1:25:44Speaker 7: light of the recent tragedy that happened at the track
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: meet in Texas between this young African American boys young
- 1:25:54Speaker 7: white kid. Whether whatever happened, how it happened to what
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: ended up happening was this young black boy reached in
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: his book bag and got a knife out and stabbed
- 1:26:07Speaker 7: this white kid. Now, the tragedy in this is that
- 1:26:11Speaker 7: this one young man is dead. He's gone man.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: And and over what? Over what?
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: The other tragedy is this black boy who was seventeen
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: years old, just got thirty five years. He's ruined a
- 1:26:32Speaker 7: great portion of his life, and over what. You know, Look,
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: I know we have this Second Amendment in this country
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: that allows everybody to bear arms.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: I got that.
- 1:26:48Speaker 7: And you know the gun laws in this country are loose.
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: This wasn't even a gun law. This was a knife incident.
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: But what I want to say to young people is
- 1:27:00Speaker 7: if you carry a weapon of any kind, I want
- 1:27:05Speaker 7: you to understand that now that weapon becomes an option.
- 1:27:12Speaker 7: So if you run up into any conflict, your cot
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: resolution skills are up only up to a certain point.
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: I've always used my mouth to resolve matters. Even growing up,
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: I never carried a weapon because you know at one
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: point in time, it's gonna come down to it, but
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: we're gonna throw these hands. If we couldn't resolve it,
- 1:27:36Speaker 7: we was gonna throw these hands. That's not the world
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: we live in today. So what I want you young
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: people out there is considered this. The option that you're
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: carrying comes with consequences, dire results. If this young man
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: didn't have a knife in his book bag, we wouldn't
- 1:27:59Speaker 7: even be having this conversation because this incident would have
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: resolved itself some other way. Look, man, this is a
- 1:28:09Speaker 7: tragedy on so many levels. But if you didn't have
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: this knife, none of this happened. This stand your ground,
- 1:28:17Speaker 7: It don't matter when you got to do time, this
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: self defense. It don't matter when you lose thirty five
- 1:28:24Speaker 7: years of your life. It don't matter when a young
- 1:28:27Speaker 7: boy loses his life over what. I cannot think of
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: anything that I've ever argued about with anybody, any conflict
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: I've had with anybody, where the best results would be
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: one of us to lose our life. But you know what,
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: I removed the gun and the knife as an option,
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: because then, guess what when you don't have a knife
- 1:28:58Speaker 7: or a gun. Here's what the options become. All right, man,
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: my bad, I bet you bet not? I bet you
- 1:29:07Speaker 7: bet not? Push me again? Did he push you again?
- 1:29:10Speaker 7: Then you swing on him? Eventually all fights get broken
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: up or stop for some reason. That would have been it.
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: Oh hey man, how about this one? All right, my bad,
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: I'm out and just walk away.
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: Man.
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: Any one of them options would have been better a
- 1:29:30Speaker 7: fistfight and embarrassment they calling you chicken you walked away.
- 1:29:38Speaker 7: Any of them options would have been better, man than
- 1:29:41Speaker 7: this young boy losing his life and now you, Finnah
- 1:29:45Speaker 7: sit at seventeen in a prison cell for thirty five
- 1:29:49Speaker 7: years in the Texas Department of Corrections. This is heartbreaking
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: all the way around the board. So what I'm saying
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: to you as this, whatever decision you make, I want
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: you all to remember that all these decisions come with
- 1:30:06Speaker 7: a consequence. These young boys that carry guns everywhere. It's
- 1:30:11Speaker 7: a fourteen year old had a gun on him. What
- 1:30:16Speaker 7: at fourteen? Man, let me tell y'all something. The hood
- 1:30:22Speaker 7: ain't that hard. You can say it is, and you
- 1:30:26Speaker 7: can make it up if you want to. Now, if
- 1:30:28Speaker 7: you're living in one of these gang bang of cultures,
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: which is complete ignorance again. If you cripping in blood
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: and then you out here, man, I got news for you, partner,
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: You out here cripping in blood for no cryps and
- 1:30:44Speaker 7: bloods don't even know why they banging.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Ask them.
- 1:30:49Speaker 7: They don't even know this territory you fighting in. You
- 1:30:52Speaker 7: ain't even homeowners in it. Yup, man, this is so
- 1:30:56Speaker 7: crazy what we're doing.
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: Man.
- 1:30:59Speaker 7: Now, listen, all this happened to this young man who
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: lost his life, and all this happened to this young
- 1:31:07Speaker 7: man who's on trial, and now he's faced with what
- 1:31:10Speaker 7: we got to deal with all our lives and all
- 1:31:13Speaker 7: white jewelry. How you think that's gonna work out? All
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: white jewelry. A seventeen black person kills a white person
- 1:31:25Speaker 7: Twelve jury members of his peers they picked all white.
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: You don't stand a chance. Keep yourself out these situations.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Young people.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: Stop carrying guns and knives and find another way to
- 1:31:40Speaker 7: resolve confluence. It is always good to walk away, live
- 1:31:45Speaker 7: to see another day.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:31:49Speaker 7: It's what a tragic situation. Let's make better choicees. Y'all
- 1:31:52Speaker 7: get in these kids' heads, fathers, tell them you don't
- 1:31:55Speaker 7: need that, all right, God, have a great day to day,
- 1:31:58Speaker 7: Talk to God, he loved He Front.
