- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna just let her know right now. Shears was
- 0:07Speaker 1: supposed to be in studio with me. She promised me
- 0:11Speaker 1: on separ timity and level. Rashan McDonald, I'm coming down
- 0:14Speaker 1: to Houston, Texas to do two breaks with you because
- 0:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you this, the third time she's been
- 0:20Speaker 1: on my show, Everybody, the third time I always started
- 0:23Speaker 1: this show and May that's how talent that she is.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you somethingbody, my next guest is one
- 0:29Speaker 1: of my all time favorite. Her speaking topics include finances, taxes, business, startup, death, care,
- 0:40Speaker 1: co parenting, divorce, and living a big life. Please welcome
- 0:45Speaker 1: the money making conversations from the DC area. Laura Foods, Laura,
- 0:57Speaker 1: how's my girl doing? I'm doing great enough. Certainly wish
- 1:00Speaker 1: I was there, but as as as you know, as
- 1:04Speaker 1: I was explaining, because of Hurricane Harvey, my corporate office
- 1:09Speaker 1: is under nine feet of water and affected to be
- 1:13Speaker 1: back in our offices until probably November. So unfortunately they
- 1:17Speaker 1: canceled um the conference, so I was not able to come.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So thank you for still having me on the phone,
- 1:23Speaker 1: because I always love to call in and talk with
- 1:26Speaker 1: you and always have a great time with you. Guys. Absolutely, Uh, Laura,
- 1:30Speaker 1: first of all, you're very, very talented. Let's go and
- 1:34Speaker 1: get that out the way. Thank you so much. This
- 1:38Speaker 1: is this is the reason she's on my show. First
- 1:40Speaker 1: of all, she's talented, she's small, and she can talk.
- 1:43Speaker 1: She A lot of people understand that that that third
- 1:46Speaker 1: one I said, she can talk. You know, this is
- 1:49Speaker 1: the type of person that you know, I have no
- 1:52Speaker 1: problem during two breaks with her. You know, I just
- 1:54Speaker 1: shut it down. Let's he's just start talking. I was
- 1:56Speaker 1: gonna say, I could probably just talk to myself. I
- 1:58Speaker 1: know you got to steal set for that. But I
- 2:01Speaker 1: brought you on the show because of the fact that
- 2:03Speaker 1: of all the people that I can bring on the show,
- 2:06Speaker 1: and when we got to start doing Q and age
- 2:08Speaker 1: with you, how people call in if you don't mind,
- 2:11Speaker 1: oh of course, because because you you you are are
- 2:13Speaker 1: an expert. You you're and you're confident enough to know
- 2:16Speaker 1: if you don't know, you're gonna find out an answer.
- 2:18Speaker 1: So when you send me a resume and you have
- 2:21Speaker 1: all these speaking topics and let's let's briefly, just briefly
- 2:24Speaker 1: say when I when I, what do you know about finances?
- 2:28Speaker 1: When I'm just gonna throw it out like that, and
- 2:30Speaker 1: you just give me a quick synopsis so people get
- 2:32Speaker 1: a sense of who you are and your brain. Okay, okay, okay. Well, Well,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and I started my career very very young, unfortunately, so
- 2:43Speaker 1: I do have a background in a counting background which
- 2:46Speaker 1: I have used all the time. I knew when I
- 2:48Speaker 1: wanted to start business that I could go to school
- 2:51Speaker 1: and get a degree in accounting because any business or
- 2:53Speaker 1: anything that you're passionate about, someone has to handle the
- 2:56Speaker 1: money and the finances. That's the backbone of any business,
- 3:00Speaker 1: this in any area. UM. So I did go to
- 3:02Speaker 1: school for accounting. Then, as I said, I did start
- 3:05Speaker 1: my corporate career when I was eighteen now forty one,
- 3:09Speaker 1: so I've been in that corporate career for twenty two years.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'm a business finance manager, so I oversee forty two
- 3:15Speaker 1: locations in the Washington Baltimore, Virginia area. UM as well
- 3:20Speaker 1: as you know, my corporation is into you know, an
- 3:23Speaker 1: international company as well as then the finance. UM as
- 3:27Speaker 1: I got more and more into finance that I grew
- 3:30Speaker 1: to have a passion for taxes. Don't you just go
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't jump a lane. I gotta set you up. I
- 3:38Speaker 1: told you talk too much, but you counted though. Okay, now,
- 3:42Speaker 1: now here's my next question. What do you know about taxes? Well,
- 3:46Speaker 1: in taxes, I mean, of course, you can look up
- 3:48Speaker 1: my name, Laura fous I'm on the I R S website,
- 3:51Speaker 1: so I'm a licensed tax preparer. I can do taxes
- 3:54Speaker 1: UM in all the states. We I do personal taxes,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I can do small business taxes us UM. And I
- 4:00Speaker 1: just thought it was important And now I'm even getting
- 4:03Speaker 1: more into educating people. A lot of people know me
- 4:06Speaker 1: for doing on my Facebook page tax tip Tuesdays, because
- 4:09Speaker 1: I found in taxes people really do have to understand taxes.
- 4:13Speaker 1: They just go to somebody and do it, but do
- 4:15Speaker 1: not understand why do I owe or why do I
- 4:18Speaker 1: get a refund. So that's how I've gotten so passionate
- 4:21Speaker 1: about taxes UM because people just don't seem to understand it,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and a lot of preparers don't educate their clients. Now
- 4:27Speaker 1: hopefully my clients I don't provide them too much education
- 4:30Speaker 1: and they leave me and start going to do their own. Um.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But I want my clients to be educated, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and I want to and I prepare them all year long.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like I don't want to just interact with them at
- 4:40Speaker 1: tax time. We want to interact all year long. And
- 4:42Speaker 1: that's when my tax tip Tuesdays are about. But next question,
- 4:46Speaker 1: what do you know about business startup? Oh my god,
- 4:50Speaker 1: don't do it now? Well, like I said, and most
- 4:54Speaker 1: of us know of salon Couture for the Neighborhood Awards.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We were very fortunate that to be recognized by d
- 5:01Speaker 1: C and then across the country four times for best
- 5:04Speaker 1: Maal Salon and then one time for best Beauty Salon
- 5:07Speaker 1: in the country. Um. And that's because, like I said,
- 5:10Speaker 1: we were four young women that had a dream. Of course,
- 5:13Speaker 1: now you can't have a dream, but you do have
- 5:15Speaker 1: to have some cash saved. Um. And we went from
- 5:19Speaker 1: you know, we have a brick and mortar business. This
- 5:21Speaker 1: is not just an online business. So I think that
- 5:24Speaker 1: those are two completely different things. You know, when you
- 5:26Speaker 1: are a brick and mortar business, there is a lot
- 5:29Speaker 1: that goes into starting a brick and mortar business. I
- 5:32Speaker 1: probably know more than I ever wanted to know about
- 5:35Speaker 1: d t U s and a heavy up for the
- 5:37Speaker 1: electrical panel box and the plumbing, you know all of
- 5:41Speaker 1: those things. Um, but so yes. And this year in
- 5:44Speaker 1: October we are celebrating ten years um that Salon Contur
- 5:49Speaker 1: has been opened. And then in this past October we
- 5:52Speaker 1: just opened a beauty supply store which is yes, yes.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And then my tax office is two doors down from that,
- 6:03Speaker 1: so I'm just taking over the shopping center. Nothing wrong
- 6:05Speaker 1: with that, Nothing wrong with I told you have a
- 6:07Speaker 1: big personality, So I pretty much one thing. It's just
- 6:10Speaker 1: gonna be a bill board above. Now what do you know?
- 6:15Speaker 1: That would be nice? Let's go next. What do you
- 6:17Speaker 1: know about death care? Um? Well, my corporate career, which
- 6:21Speaker 1: a lot of people don't know because it is a
- 6:23Speaker 1: corporate thing, so I don't talk a lot about it.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Or now I am going to begin to talk more
- 6:28Speaker 1: about it on social media. Just from doing your show,
- 6:31Speaker 1: we've talked about it and other people asking about it. Um,
- 6:34Speaker 1: But very passionate about this business as well because it
- 6:37Speaker 1: impacts a lot of families financially, UH and the death
- 6:41Speaker 1: care industry. What I what I do is is we
- 6:45Speaker 1: talk to families about pre arranging so that we don't
- 6:48Speaker 1: have go fund mese everywhere it excuse me, And it's
- 6:52Speaker 1: just educating families that they are able to take care
- 6:56Speaker 1: of these arrangements ahead of time, and then we educate
- 6:59Speaker 1: them about how are able to do that. So I
- 7:02Speaker 1: do know, and like I said, and I've been in
- 7:03Speaker 1: that industry for twenty two years so have a lot
- 7:06Speaker 1: of knowledge on the deathcare industry. Unfortunately, what do you
- 7:10Speaker 1: know about co parenting? Well that now that that could
- 7:16Speaker 1: be a whole that could be a whole show right there. Um.
- 7:19Speaker 1: But most of the people in the d m V market,
- 7:21Speaker 1: or if you follow me on social media, know that said.
- 7:23Speaker 1: The kid is my reason, she's my why, she is
- 7:26Speaker 1: my everything. Um. I became a you know, a mother
- 7:30Speaker 1: at a very young age, and we thought we were
- 7:32Speaker 1: doing it the right way. Um. And I did get
- 7:34Speaker 1: married when I was twenty two. And unfortunately, when you're
- 7:38Speaker 1: young and you don't know any better than you know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: sometimes that doesn't always work out. Um. But what what
- 7:45Speaker 1: I do try to teach people as far and anyone
- 7:47Speaker 1: that I can talk to as far as co parenting,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know, is I love my daughter more than anything
- 7:53Speaker 1: or anyone, and and her relationship with her father is
- 7:57Speaker 1: very important to me, so we do not we don't argue,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and of course it's never enough money involved. You know,
- 8:03Speaker 1: I would like to have more money coming in or
- 8:05Speaker 1: more child support and all of those things. But my
- 8:08Speaker 1: key focus has always been on her. So yes, we
- 8:11Speaker 1: do still do Christmas Is together, we do the birthdays together.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm very good friends with his you know, when he
- 8:17Speaker 1: got remarried and his fiance, I'm very good friends with
- 8:21Speaker 1: them because we have to raise our children together. And
- 8:24Speaker 1: I think that you learn to put your feelings aside
- 8:27Speaker 1: or your emotions aside for the best interests of your children. UM.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So that's why I do talk to people about how
- 8:33Speaker 1: do we do this the right way so that our
- 8:35Speaker 1: children are good in a good environment and healthy environment.
- 8:39Speaker 1: They're allowed to love both parents. Um and even when
- 8:42Speaker 1: they get remarried, you're allowed to love those parents as well. Okay, cool.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Now there are two more topics I want to bring
- 8:48Speaker 1: up because I want to bring them up because I
- 8:51Speaker 1: want to be able to in the second break, because
- 8:53Speaker 1: I want to talk to you about your brain, because
- 8:56Speaker 1: I think that you're you're such an exception no talent,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and I gotta say this, I think right now if
- 9:04Speaker 1: you can see me, you would see I'm blessing right now.
- 9:06Speaker 1: That's good because I'm too dark to blush. Okay, they
- 9:09Speaker 1: just just just see me, Grant, because see, the thing
- 9:13Speaker 1: about it is that is that I brought you on
- 9:16Speaker 1: the show because people go where you keep bring. I
- 9:18Speaker 1: need people understand who you are, and then I want
- 9:20Speaker 1: to I want you to understand who you are because
- 9:22Speaker 1: you right now don't know who you are because of
- 9:24Speaker 1: the fact that you know you throught all these ideas
- 9:27Speaker 1: because you truly are a life coach what I'm saying,
- 9:31Speaker 1: because you have the because you have the experience and
- 9:35Speaker 1: the the the the technical savvy to be able to
- 9:38Speaker 1: communicate from the start to the finish. You understand what
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm saying. You know you can raise them and you
- 9:43Speaker 1: can bury them. You know you can. You can, you can.
- 9:47Speaker 1: That's very important in that process. And you can tell
- 9:49Speaker 1: people how to gain their wealth, how to recover their wealth,
- 9:52Speaker 1: how to come from bankruptcy to success. All that's very important.
- 9:56Speaker 1: And I feel and I'm not saying, you know, and
- 9:59Speaker 1: when getting these little zones like that, people all say,
- 10:01Speaker 1: is he about to manage her? I'm not saying that.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'm just saying this is that is that me and
- 10:07Speaker 1: you and the relationship that we're developing is going to
- 10:11Speaker 1: be powerful because disguise are the limit limit. Laura with you,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and you need to understand that anybody I talked to,
- 10:18Speaker 1: anybody I talked to on the regular basis, It's really
- 10:21Speaker 1: funny because because I used to see you at the
- 10:23Speaker 1: Neighborhood Awards, it is funny I never spoke to her
- 10:26Speaker 1: at the neighbor of the Awards. I would see her
- 10:28Speaker 1: because I'm always running around that producing the show. She
- 10:31Speaker 1: just she'd be standing there and or she going stage
- 10:34Speaker 1: and get the award for winning best Nel Salon. She
- 10:36Speaker 1: walk off, take pictures with her and her her fellow
- 10:40Speaker 1: you know, co workers, she said, are partners, business pokers,
- 10:44Speaker 1: co workers, and they're getting mad. We're working for you now,
- 10:46Speaker 1: you know people people are turn on your fad. We
- 10:49Speaker 1: an't employee. But I just want to let you know
- 10:53Speaker 1: that we're gonna talk on the next break, and if
- 10:55Speaker 1: anybody wants to call in and talk to Laura, you
- 10:58Speaker 1: know what she can talk about. I'll talk to me
- 11:00Speaker 1: eight three two two three zero five five nine two.
- 11:04Speaker 1: That's a three two two three zero five five nine
- 11:07Speaker 1: two Again, you're listening to money making conversation. If you
- 11:10Speaker 1: have a problem in your life, if you want to
- 11:13Speaker 1: if you're tie the people telling you what you cannot do,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and you want to talk to somebody who will tell
- 11:18Speaker 1: you can do anything you want to life. Stop listening
- 11:21Speaker 1: to ignorant people. Get out of that boat, learn how
- 11:24Speaker 1: to swim. Guess what if you step out that boat,
- 11:27Speaker 1: the water may not be that deep. They told you
- 11:29Speaker 1: a ten feet it was on the two feet. Don't
- 11:32Speaker 1: follow the lies. Sell yourself on the truth. I'll be
- 11:36Speaker 1: back with more money making conversations. My girl, I'm gonna say,
- 11:40Speaker 1: my girl from d C, Laura Foods. I called out
- 11:43Speaker 1: for a phone call, Laura. How you doing. I'm doing great,
- 11:49Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you. I wish I was there in
- 11:51Speaker 1: the studio. They don't give me that. I don't hear
- 11:54Speaker 1: none of that, Lord, because I'm glad you're not here,
- 11:56Speaker 1: because I probably couldn't push you out the show. You
- 11:58Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Yeah, I was gonna say if
- 12:00Speaker 1: I come live like I did the whole two hours,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, he'd be embarrassing because you know,
- 12:07Speaker 1: be going on a fighting she won't leave because you
- 12:10Speaker 1: you you you know to be as successful as you
- 12:12Speaker 1: are and do all the things that you've done, You're stubborn,
- 12:15Speaker 1: so I know it's gonna be a battle to get
- 12:17Speaker 1: you out. I would be staying for the whole two hours. Well,
- 12:21Speaker 1: I gotta call in from the d C area. Uh, Sassy,
- 12:24Speaker 1: are you on the line? Sassy? Are you on the line?
- 12:27Speaker 1: I am here. How y'all doing? Hey, Sassy, you have
- 12:30Speaker 1: a phone call you You called in and have a
- 12:32Speaker 1: question for Laura. I do, Sassie, how are you? Thank
- 12:37Speaker 1: you for calling in? Good? Good, good. Lord's on my
- 12:41Speaker 1: favorite people on the planet, and I am the blessed
- 12:43Speaker 1: to have some insider knowledge UM that I want her
- 12:46Speaker 1: to share with all of your other listeners. So my
- 12:50Speaker 1: question for you, Laura, that I hope you can um
- 12:53Speaker 1: it gives them kind of anside the information is how
- 12:56Speaker 1: do you overcome the fear of failure that's associated at
- 13:00Speaker 1: it with starting and successfully operating your own businesses? Um? Okay,
- 13:06Speaker 1: So good question. Overcoming the fear of failure? Well, I
- 13:10Speaker 1: think when you are UM, when you first determine your why,
- 13:15Speaker 1: which for me my wife, of course, was being a
- 13:17Speaker 1: young single mother and having a child to take care
- 13:20Speaker 1: of that I took on as a huge responsibility and
- 13:25Speaker 1: just like anything else, just like with business, I had
- 13:28Speaker 1: to make her successful and I had to make her
- 13:30Speaker 1: the best baby ever. Um. So I think once you
- 13:34Speaker 1: take once you determine what your why is. And then
- 13:37Speaker 1: I found out early on my purpose, I know is
- 13:40Speaker 1: to share my information and educate people about finances, whether
- 13:44Speaker 1: it's personal finances, business finances. Then yes, um, have some
- 13:49Speaker 1: of the things that I've tried not worked. Have I
- 13:51Speaker 1: had some events where nobody shows up and there's two
- 13:53Speaker 1: people in the room, or then you go to other
- 13:56Speaker 1: events where there's a hundred people in the room or
- 13:58Speaker 1: there's six hundred people in the room. Um. But I
- 14:01Speaker 1: think it is knowing that you have a purpose and
- 14:04Speaker 1: I have a y and so failure is not an
- 14:07Speaker 1: option or like if you all watch my social media
- 14:10Speaker 1: pages and I post my morning motivation every day, it
- 14:13Speaker 1: is just what they say, I don't necessarily take it
- 14:16Speaker 1: as a failure. It is then talking to people and
- 14:20Speaker 1: asking questions of Okay, so what do I need to do,
- 14:23Speaker 1: how do I make this better? How can it be
- 14:25Speaker 1: better the next time? Because, as I said, my child
- 14:28Speaker 1: school tuition has to be paid, so failing is not
- 14:31Speaker 1: even an option. Um. But I do think one of
- 14:34Speaker 1: the key things is I do try to make sure
- 14:37Speaker 1: that I keep my core circle close and that I
- 14:40Speaker 1: have good, motivating, empowering people around me who they keep
- 14:45Speaker 1: me motivated because of course I have off seasons and
- 14:47Speaker 1: I have bad days or you know, or even seasons
- 14:50Speaker 1: where Okay, I'm done with this. Can I just work
- 14:52Speaker 1: my nine to five and I don't want to do
- 14:54Speaker 1: anything else anymore. Um. But when you have an empowering
- 14:57Speaker 1: circle around you, um, they keep you're going and they
- 15:00Speaker 1: keep reminding you of your why. Um. So I think that,
- 15:04Speaker 1: like you said, so that kind of sounds cliche, failure
- 15:07Speaker 1: isn't an option. But once you know your why and
- 15:09Speaker 1: your purpose, then I don't necessarily think you're failing. It's
- 15:13Speaker 1: you know, getting it right or making it better. Yes,
- 15:15Speaker 1: let me add let me add to that, Sassy. On
- 15:17Speaker 1: top of what the wonderful information you've just gotten from
- 15:20Speaker 1: law is that a lot of people, you know, they
- 15:24Speaker 1: don't plan and they because it's so hard. The number
- 15:28Speaker 1: one mistake that most people making small businesses they don't
- 15:31Speaker 1: have a business plan. They have a great idea, but
- 15:33Speaker 1: they don't have a business plan, and they look at
- 15:35Speaker 1: ten dollars. If they charged ten dollars for a hamburger,
- 15:38Speaker 1: they don't realize that, you know, you gotta pay for
- 15:41Speaker 1: taxes on in Hamburg, you gotta pay for the lettuce.
- 15:43Speaker 1: To me, they don't realize that you might be walking
- 15:45Speaker 1: away with three dollars. And so that's where the planning
- 15:48Speaker 1: part comes into it, and also the consistency. And also
- 15:53Speaker 1: make sure if you're going into business with everybody, with
- 15:56Speaker 1: other people, you all have the same values. And I'm
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna just go I'm gonna slow that down. I'm
- 16:02Speaker 1: gonna slow that down because you can't make up another
- 16:05Speaker 1: person be like you. You have to accept them for
- 16:09Speaker 1: who they are and then and their strengths. Because I
- 16:12Speaker 1: can assure you all the partners in Salon Couture are
- 16:16Speaker 1: not alike, you know, because I can't nobody out talk Lord.
- 16:21Speaker 1: They all they all know that. They all know that,
- 16:24Speaker 1: they all know that. But each one of them have
- 16:26Speaker 1: a tremendous strength. And to what the number one mistakes
- 16:29Speaker 1: people make is like they'll say, well, I'm here twenty
- 16:32Speaker 1: four hours a day. What that's you If you decided
- 16:35Speaker 1: to be at your job or this company twenty four
- 16:37Speaker 1: hours a day. Don't try to make other people do that. Now,
- 16:41Speaker 1: if you're gonna get in business, know the person that
- 16:43Speaker 1: you're getting in business with, so that way you you
- 16:47Speaker 1: won't be blindsided or not if they're doing something down
- 16:50Speaker 1: the line that makes you upset, that's the number that's
- 16:54Speaker 1: one of the number one problems. It's the same thing
- 16:57Speaker 1: with your kids, with your wife or whoever your dating.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Do not try to force these people into your lifestyle.
- 17:04Speaker 1: You volunteer for this. You you decided to leave IBM
- 17:08Speaker 1: and go on the road and tell jokes. I couldn't
- 17:10Speaker 1: drag my mama out there. My mama name want me.
- 17:12Speaker 1: My mama was happy with me being that IBM so
- 17:15Speaker 1: I could guard my mama wind And hey, these folks
- 17:17Speaker 1: ain't laughing. In Kentucky, the folks they boomed me off
- 17:20Speaker 1: the stage. In Virginia, only fifteen people showed up. I
- 17:23Speaker 1: don't think this man gonna pay me. In Mississippi, they
- 17:27Speaker 1: didn't ask for that. And so what it happens is
- 17:30Speaker 1: a lot of people they try to put their burden
- 17:33Speaker 1: of their decision on other people. Guess what happens When
- 17:36Speaker 1: you do that, your your crowd and supports shrinks. It's shrinks,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and so when it shrinks, guess what all people see
- 17:44Speaker 1: you as bad news? Are you begging for something? Are
- 17:48Speaker 1: you complaining about something? Here's the number one thing. When
- 17:52Speaker 1: you are a leader. You cannot have bad days. When
- 17:56Speaker 1: you are a leader, you cannot cry in public. When
- 18:00Speaker 1: you are a leader, you have to let everybody know
- 18:04Speaker 1: that the bullet you just shot, that you just got
- 18:06Speaker 1: shot with, you're gonna keep on walking. And you're gonna
- 18:09Speaker 1: keep on walking because is what you made the decision
- 18:11Speaker 1: to lead people up that hill and back down that
- 18:14Speaker 1: hill to victory. And that is really key. And what
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm saying to anybody who's listening, and especially to you know,
- 18:21Speaker 1: and I know Laura's hearing me, She's gonna, yeah, yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I agree with everything he's saying, because guess what their days.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I would tell people I have had tears in my
- 18:29Speaker 1: eyes because I didn't want to get up. They have days,
- 18:33Speaker 1: their days when I didn't I wanted to call somebody,
- 18:37Speaker 1: but I couldn't call them because I couldn't show that
- 18:39Speaker 1: sign of weakness because they believed in me. So I
- 18:42Speaker 1: had to do my research I had to have relationships.
- 18:45Speaker 1: There are people, they're CEOs, their presidents of companies, they're
- 18:49Speaker 1: famous athletes, they're famous actors who called me for advice.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Now what if I decided to tell everybody I'm stupid,
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm I don't nor dawn things you think they keep
- 19:01Speaker 1: calling me because guess what, I'll have have shown a
- 19:04Speaker 1: sign of weakness, because that is not my brand. My
- 19:07Speaker 1: brand is a brand of success. And if you called me,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I will make you successful. And that's really what this
- 19:13Speaker 1: is all about. This is all what money making conversations
- 19:16Speaker 1: is about. And that's why in the first half of
- 19:18Speaker 1: this interview, I wanted to make sure people understood why
- 19:22Speaker 1: I was talking to Laura. And I need Laura to
- 19:24Speaker 1: understand who she is. See see what happens with talented people.
- 19:28Speaker 1: They tend to only they tend to. They tend to
- 19:30Speaker 1: kind of like keep their abilities in a very tight circle,
- 19:34Speaker 1: and only a few people know about they're listed out,
- 19:36Speaker 1: but they don't really understand what they've listed out. And
- 19:39Speaker 1: so I just wanted her for the first time, maybe
- 19:42Speaker 1: maybe for the first time, for her to hear herself
- 19:45Speaker 1: talk about herself so she can take in the information
- 19:49Speaker 1: that she's has because you know you can go and said,
- 19:54Speaker 1: you know I can, I can shoot them. I can.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You know, look at Lebron James. Lebron James a class example.
- 19:59Speaker 1: He has game show on, he has a TV show on,
- 20:03Speaker 1: he has foundations, he plays basketball. You know, he's an entrepreneur.
- 20:08Speaker 1: He has a sporting agency. That's all I'm saying. He's
- 20:15Speaker 1: embraced his ability to make money. Now when I look
- 20:19Speaker 1: at Laura, when I look at her, she's she's feeling information.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Now when we hang up this phone, she don't have
- 20:26Speaker 1: a different conversation about herself. And I hope you do
- 20:30Speaker 1: because you are a an enterprise young lady, and it's
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's enough of people telling you how talented you are.
- 20:37Speaker 1: It's time for you to really look at your website
- 20:39Speaker 1: and say who am I and started watching yourself. And
- 20:43Speaker 1: once you find out who you are, then your bread
- 20:45Speaker 1: will explode. Does that makes this, Laura, because right now,
- 20:51Speaker 1: listen to me now, Finances, you didn't stumble when you
- 20:54Speaker 1: talked about that taxes. You didn't stumble when you talked
- 20:57Speaker 1: about that business startup. You didn't stumble when you talked
- 21:00Speaker 1: about that death care. You didn't stumble when you talked
- 21:04Speaker 1: about that co parenting, you just stumble when you talked
- 21:08Speaker 1: about that divorce. You wouldn't stumble when you talk about
- 21:11Speaker 1: that living a big life. You will not stumble when
- 21:14Speaker 1: you talk about that. You know why you won't stumble,
- 21:17Speaker 1: because that's what you do, Laura. Okay, that's what you do.
- 21:21Speaker 1: It's time when you hang up this phone with me today,
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's time for you to make note of what I'm
- 21:26Speaker 1: saying to you today. You are bigger than what you are,
- 21:30Speaker 1: not saying that you hunt don't have a perception of
- 21:32Speaker 1: who you are. But I'm just letting you know. I've
- 21:35Speaker 1: been around a lot of famous people, a lot of
- 21:38Speaker 1: great people called me and my wife go who just
- 21:42Speaker 1: called you, don't worry about don't worry about don't worry
- 21:45Speaker 1: about this, all right? They called me to And I'm
- 21:47Speaker 1: letting you know this. Your ability now is to build
- 21:51Speaker 1: your brand own. That's why I had a d dolphin
- 21:53Speaker 1: on the radio earlier. Today. I'm going to more and
- 21:56Speaker 1: more people like you because I think I'll reach more
- 21:59Speaker 1: people like you with your story to let them know
- 22:03Speaker 1: that every day it ain't who you stopping for a selfie,
- 22:07Speaker 1: who's walking by you that you need to be stopping.
- 22:09Speaker 1: They're gonna make you great, Laura, your special thank you.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I was gonna say, I thought we were called it
- 22:16Speaker 1: for questions or was this like my morning motivational speech
- 22:19Speaker 1: to me? I appreciate that absolutely, absolutely, on time, absolutely
- 22:24Speaker 1: because you know what, because see just the next level
- 22:26Speaker 1: for your life. That's all I'm just saying this to you.
- 22:29Speaker 1: You're about to go to the next level in life.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And and that's why when I started money making conversation
- 22:34Speaker 1: May first and here in Houston, Texas, took it off
- 22:36Speaker 1: my Facebook page, and I and I on a leap
- 22:39Speaker 1: of faith, but with a plan, and people like you,
- 22:42Speaker 1: people I didn't even speak to. Not because I was
- 22:45Speaker 1: a rude person. It's just that I didn't understand my
- 22:47Speaker 1: purpose in life at the time when I was walking
- 22:50Speaker 1: past you or you were standing over there. Are you
- 22:52Speaker 1: walking off the stage of a show that I created
- 22:55Speaker 1: every year to uplive small businesses and people in the community.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Mess it too. It'll be back, don't work back. Here's
- 23:04Speaker 1: the beauty of life with me and you is that
- 23:07Speaker 1: is that I already know you're gonna be back on
- 23:09Speaker 1: my show just one more time. A fall definitely we're
- 23:12Speaker 1: gonna do a tax thing in the spring. Okay, we're
- 23:15Speaker 1: gonna build that brand out, but more importantly, start figuring
- 23:19Speaker 1: out who you are, Laura. I will give yoursell number,
- 23:22Speaker 1: email address, whatever you do. I want you to your start,
- 23:24Speaker 1: young lad, a year of Laura. Now if you if
- 23:27Speaker 1: you blush and there, you should be be beat red
- 23:30Speaker 1: right now. Okay, yes, my friend, I'm glad this time.
- 23:36Speaker 1: So y'all can't see my place right now big time.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I'm just letting everybody know this is a call I
- 23:43Speaker 1: could be talking to you, and I want you to
- 23:44Speaker 1: start calling me. Y'all. I want you to start understanding
- 23:47Speaker 1: that this show has been built in place for people
- 23:50Speaker 1: to know that they can be great, that they can
- 23:52Speaker 1: just let let let me shine. Hear your story, let
- 23:55Speaker 1: me let me understand why you why why are you
