- Todd: Welcome to the wildly abinionated news hour, everyone. Todd's world. I'm Todd. Todd Allen. Thanks for joining us today. Carrie's with me. And yeah, we get together every week. Every week, right here on Tuesdays, we drop this show just for you, where we kind of sort through the news of the day, the clips, culture, whatever's going on. And then on Wednesdays, we drop Beers with Jesus. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm. Hello. Just just for you. Just for you. I know. Todd: That's kind of our ⁓ we're we're walking through the Bible stories. We enjoy it. It's not preachy. You should give it a try. I think it'll y you'll find the discussions entertaining. I think you'll find the Bible a lot different than what you think it is. Maybe. Not for most peop most people, I think. Yo, It's Carrie: Absolutely. It it it really is. I don't even have a problem with the Bible and I feel like that. I've I've learned so much in this time going through it with you. It's amazing, right? Todd: Yeah, it's amazing what happens when you read it. Catholics are like, ⁓ my god, I never knew So anyway, join us for that, guys. And this week there's there's some stuff going on. We still don't quite have a ⁓ a deal or a a ⁓ a a precise end to the Iran war, although it seems like Trump is working hard on it. He he really wants one. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Exactly. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm looking forward. I I didn't research. I was like Todd's gonna Todd's gonna update me. I did hear that they were moments from it felt like they were within reach of an agreement. And then the next thing I know, we were dropping some bombs. Todd: I just don't think you you know, I don't think that the Iranian regime can really be trusted for anything resembling any kind of a deal. I and they don't care about their people. They just I I and I don't even know if we know what what the Iranian regime is actually composed of right now, or if you have people who want a deal and then they try to get one and then these other factions are are kind of shooting them in the foot. You know what I mean? It's just it's a cluster, which is why nobody wanted to be in this position. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Mm-hmm. Exactly. Todd: So it would be ⁓ anyway, they're working hard. I will say this, I don't know about you, but for last night for the first time, I was on my way to my daughter's gig and I saw gas under four dollars at it was $3.99 in in ⁓ in West Michigan here, and that's that's the cheapest I've seen it in a while. So hopefully it's going it seems to be going down. Hopefully it continues to go down. And we get out of there. Yo, It's Carrie: That's cool. We are at four on the dot. I hope so. I need to fill up here in the next four days. Figure I've got about four days left. Todd: Ha ha ha. Yeah. So so that's good news. That's good news. There were some elections this past week. ⁓ primary elections mostly. and it it was it the they were both, I think, relatively interest interesting. And what both of them showed, well, you know what? Let's go to Scott Jennings. You remember Scott Jennings, our buddy from CNN? ⁓ just a fabulous reporter. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Mm-hmm. ⁓ okay. How are they going? Yes. Todd: ⁓ I don't know if reporter's the right word, analyst, whatever you want to think of him as. But ⁓ let me find the clip here quick, because that was a that that was he kind of lays it all out exactly what happened. Now let let me let me give you the the two different ⁓ races that were kind of the big races to watch were both Republican primary races. And the reason they were they were big to watch is because Trump went decided to go all in with the opponents in the primary. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Okay. Todd: One of them was Thomas Massey, who's a congressional representative from one of the reddest areas in the country in Kentucky. And he has always had a libertarian streak and he has gone kind of over the deep end. He's one who's like the Jews, the Jews, the Jews control everything. So I mean he's kind of gone down like Marjorie Taylor Green, you know. There there's there's been this this this yeah. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Okay. Become a little fringe and extreme. Okay. Todd: Well and he also now he'll t he he liked to say he voted with Republicans and Trump ninety percent of the time, but he didn't vote for the big beautiful bill, which was basically the biggest the one big accomplishment that's passed anything in the in the House. You know what I mean? So anyway, Trump went all in on his opponents. Go ahead. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Mm-hmm. Sure. Can you can you clarify? Okay, can you can you clarify? When you say Trump went all in on the against the opponents, do you mean in are Todd: He endorsed the opponents of these incumbents, these Republican incumbents. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay, so yeah, the currently ⁓ held by Republicans, they have they have new opposition and Trump went Okay, let's hear it. Todd: That are Republicans. But he but but for the first time really, Trump put the full weight of the Trump machine behind a couple primary opponents. It was Thomas Massey and he wanted him gone. He called him the worst senator or the worst congressman in the house. You know how Trump is. Bit of hyperbole. He was in Kentucky. And then the other one was Senator John Cornyn from Texas. John Cornyn voted to impeach Trump. They he's he's a big part of why we don't have the Save Act in the Senate. Yo, It's Carrie: Wow. And where is he? Do we know? Okay. Okay. Right. Okay. Todd: And so so you've got kind of all these things. Yo, It's Carrie: Supposedly yeah, and he's supposedly a Republican in Texas. Got it. Todd: So Trump went ⁓ went all out and yeah, he just he he went and both of them were one. Now let's watch Scott Jennings. I just wanted to give you those those were the two. So so in Texas it was a Senate primary and it was between John Cornyn, who'd been a senator for hell, I don't know, thirty years, and incumbent senators like that. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Todd: If this tells you anything, the United States Senate, the Republican Senate Conference, spent a hundred million dollars trying to save John Cornyn's seat. Now they don't spend any money at all and don't have time for the Save Act, but don't worry, they're on it. So Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Woo wow. Yeah. Campaigning's really important. Todd: Yes. So anyway, you had the the United States Republican Senate on one side and you had the Trump administration on the other side. And let's hear what happened from ⁓ Mr. Scott Jennings. Here he is. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. I'd love to know who's funding who's funding that campaign budget. Todd: All right, here's Scott Jennings. Yo, It's Carrie: I'd be curious to hear that. Okay. Ha ha ha ha. Todd: Look at that. Now John Cornyn was the incumbent United States Senator, like I said, for something like thirty years. Trump came in at the end, endorsed Ken Paxson, who was the Texas Attorney General, and he beat him by, I don't know if it ended up being thirty points. It was a lot. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Great. Nice. That's nice. Now you mentioned the you mentioned another one. Did the same Okay. Yeah, Massey. Todd: Pretty good, right? Yeah, Thomas Thomas Massey was I wanna play a few clips of of Thomas Massey responding to to the loss that he took. Let me see, I gotta find it here quick. A little down the road here. Cause y you know, these guys always take full responsibility, you know how they are. They don't ever try to pawn it off on the voters being stupid. Never. Well Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ okay. ⁓ my gosh. See a little Todd: Here is ⁓ here's ⁓ Mr. Thomas Massey. ⁓ he's bitter, all right. Okay, calm down there. Let's get this up. ⁓ this is NBC News talking to Thomas Massey, asking him what he you know what he thinks about being a loser. Now, mind you, he lost by something like ⁓ 60, 70 percent, like 80 to 20. Yo, It's Carrie: bitter bitter about losing Trump's endorsement. Ha ha. He looks incredulous in that still right there. ⁓ major. Okay. Wide margin. Indisputable margin. Todd: Something kinda thing? Clearly the voters must be stupid, I think. Let's find out. The y y the voters are stupid. That's the whole point. If only you understood it was the Jews and the voters. The y y the voters are stupid. That's the whole point. That's the whole point. If only you understood it was the Jews and the voters. The Jews funded all this money against him, mind you, he had at least ten million of his own money, regardless. He he was a ten year incumbent congressman. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Right, he's throwing out ⁓ how much they spent against him. I'm curious how much he spent. Todd: Well, he spent at least ten, probably in the realm of fifteen million. So when he talks about it like it wasn't a fair fight, it it's not even close. Let I guess we'll let him finish. He's it Th there's not a drop of there's not a drop of rationality in any of this. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, let's hear. Let's hear what his daughter saw outside of ⁓ Todd: I don't even know what the hell he's talking about right now. Right now, guys, he's it y they bamboozled you guys in Kentucky. You Kentuckians, you're so stupid you didn't even know how great Thomas Massey was. I don't even know what the hell he's talking about right now. Right now, guys, he's it y they bamboozled you guys in Kentucky. You Kentuckians, you're so stupid you didn't even know how great Thomas Massey was. Yo, It's Carrie: Right. They used artificial intelligence. Right. They used artificial intelligence. I was gonna say I know. I was gonna say I'm waiting for him to completely insult Kentucky people. I was gonna say I know. I was gonna say I'm waiting for him to completely insult Kentucky people. Todd: The boomers are the dumbest of all. That's what Thomas Massey's saying. You boomers with all your money and your houses that are worth so much, man, you're dumb. You didn't even know how great he was. That what these are this is how these people think is my point. The boomers are the dumbest of all. That's what Thomas Massey's saying. You boomers with all your money and your houses that are worth so much, man, you're dumb. You didn't even know how great he was. That what these are this is how these people think is my point. Yo, It's Carrie: It's insulting the boomers. Insulting the boomers. ⁓ boy. ⁓ boy. It's insulting the boomers. Insulting the boomers. ⁓ boy. ⁓ boy. Todd: You're gonna die, boomers. You're gonna die, boomers. Then Thomas Massey will be back. Then Thomas Massey will be back. ⁓ God, he's just just too much. He's just stupid. I can't ⁓ shut up, Thomas. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. So he's basically saying that the the vast number of boomers ⁓ who got got fooled by who literally believed he was walking into a hotel room with Elon Omar and AOC. I doubt that. They probably used it as a like kind of as a joke that meaning like he's walking with them, right? Like he's in bed with them. Like it's it's a j it's like a joke. It's like a it's like a visual. Yeah. Todd: Yeah. Right, yes. Right. But the boomers don't know. They're just so confused. They get they don't even know. They shouldn't even be out there driving. That's all. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ my gosh, this Wow. Todd, what do you think? You think the boomers in Kentucky ca ⁓ can be responsible enough to choose wisely a candidate? Todd: I think I think I I think if you've been around for seventy five years, you might have gained a little wisdom and you might know a Thomas Massey when you see one coming. Yo, It's Carrie: Think so too. I think so Todd: coming. Yo, It's Carrie: so Todd: That's what I think. And they may fool you for a few terms, but when they go full crazy, I think you know it. And I think you think I like Trump. I kind of trust him. He's doing the best he can. We don't need this little Kentucky lep leprechaun runner. Now now listen to this. This is crazy. This is a follow up question. Yo, It's Carrie: too. Yep. Yeah. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Todd: I just wanna I wanna remind everyone, Thomas Massey just lost he was a ten year incumbent in the House and he just lost a primary election by something like sixty points. And this is NBC's question to him in his response. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Okay. Can't wait. Todd: My head's ⁓ Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ my gosh. Todd: These people are just insane. I just can't even I'm not ruling it out. What are you talking about? The people that know you best. You just lost eighty percent of ⁓ Yo, It's Carrie: Tod. Todd, I've been meaning to ask you here officially on the record, would you rule out running arrested? That's hysterical. Wow. She was so dead serious too. Todd: I haven't I haven't ruled it out yet. Jeez, stupid people. Honest to God. Have you ruled out? Nope. I'm thinking about it. Why do you know that you have to win? Well, you don't have to. That's the thing about what our presidential kind of nomination contest have turned into. Remember when the Democrats had like twenty-five people running and they're running like Yo, It's Carrie: It's so Mm-hmm. Well Todd: Different shifts for debates. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. And I remember ⁓ when the Republicans, when Trump was first in the mix, it was like that too. It was like seventeen to twenty or it was Todd: A lot, yeah. You have people that with no prayer of winning and they go into it simply to maybe get themselves a book deal or pad themselves so they can go on interviews and say, you know, I'm a former presidential candidate. Like shut up. Yo, It's Carrie: Right, like what? Right. I wonder, now that you say that, it I wonder if they get swept up in, you know, we talked about someone wanting wanting that that power, but I wonder if they really like the doors that it opens for potential cabinet positions or things like that. It's like how else are you gonna move up, you know, past these like piddly little seats where ⁓ gosh. Todd: ⁓ it's yeah, it's everything. Well, and I and I saw this isn't a this isn't a clip. This Brit Hume, Fox News, ⁓ he was commenting, he shared a Wall Street Journal article, which I don't subscribe to the Wall Street Journal, so I'm not into but Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Well and Brett Hume is anyway, go ahead. Todd: Here's what here's what ⁓ here was Brit Britt Hume dropped the article and then he he dropped this quote and he said, Do the math. Or no, the article says this. Britt isn't saying this. He's quoting the article. The article says, or the headline of the article is gang warfare comes for Trump. Do the math. In a Senate where Republicans hold 53 seats, Mr. Trump has alienated more senators than he can afford to lose. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay, he's quoting the article. Okay. Todd: And as Mr. Trump's influence over the national GOP grows, his control of the Senate weakens. Now, what does that mean? Listen, I understand we've got three coequal branches of government. You got Congress, you got the judiciary, you got the executive. Theoretically, they're i i i i in a in a healthy republic, they're all scratching and crawl and and clawing to keep their own kind of areas of power. And the fact that there's three of them doing that against each other. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Todd: keeps power from becoming centralized in a king. Does that make sense? Yo, It's Carrie: Yes, I don't think that's the healthy the healthy government description. Okay. Todd: that's not happening. Well well the idea is that that you're you're kind of bound up. So you've got the they're they're you know what I mean? Yeah. They're holding each other accountable is the idea. And the Senate basically now they they they know they know what just happened in the elections. They know they just blew a hundred million dollars. They have no interest in passing the Save Act. And basically what this article is saying is Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. They each play their part. They each yeah. Mm-hmm. Yes. Todd: The United States the Republicans and United States Senate don't give a damn about the voters. That's all Trump does. And and you know what? They hate Trump because they hate you. That's what it comes down to. They hate us. They despise voters. Do you think that that Thune, that Republican Senate Majority Leader Thune is out there worrying about your average, ordinary American? No. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: All he cares about is the lobbyist. He cares about the grifters. He cares about the money that he's stashing wherever. They don't care about the voters. They know better than you. What do they need to take from us? We're too stupid to even vote. Look at look at what happens when they lose. Look at their answers. Well, they're just dumb. They're so stupid. They don't understand how amazing I was. Yo, It's Carrie: I hate I hate that. I hate that. Mm-hmm. Mm. It's so it's so backwards ⁓ to me what you're describing because it reminds me of when you encounter teachers and anyone with kids will know you encounter teachers once in a while who just seem to hate kids. You're like, why are you doing this? And I feel that way about our representatives. If you don't care about your constituents, if you don't really care about your state, your people, the voters, then what are you doing this for? And I think it's a lot easier to answer. when it comes to government than it is for teachers. But I just feel like it's the same thing. You run into people and you think, What what are you what are you doing? Todd: Well, you wonder if they hate the kids because low level they hate the parents. Like this is just supposed to be a job. We're supposed to fund them, not cause them problems. Hold them accountable. It's not my fault. Not hold them accountable. It's not our fault that in California, like only 14% of fourth graders can read. Something like that. Profession in reading. I mean, yeah. It's just Yo, It's Carrie: Right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. What's that? Mm-hmm. isn't that tragic? It's so tragic. Todd: It i it's a little much. I I wanna go to Megan Kelly, who has been let's see which let's see which one I want to start with. Megan Kelly again, Tucker Carlson, Megan Kelly. This has been the entire crew that has has jumped on the Jew train or the anti-Jew train, the Arab train she has. So ⁓ so what that ends up becoming is that you you end up Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Haven't seen her in a while. I didn't know that she had. Okay. Todd: All of them end up rooting for America to lose. That that that's kind of where you they're they're hoping for American failure. That's where they end up because they predict it and they sell it. They sell it why it would be so good if America fails. Because America failing is like Israel failing to them. That's that's just kind of the craziness that we live in. But you Megan Kelly was largely on Trump's ⁓ Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Todd: On Trump's team, so was Tucker Carlson going into the twenty twenty four election, right? These guys were all on board. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah, when did when did Menn Megan Kelly jump ship? Todd: What happened to these gu what you know what I mean? Let's let's explore a couple of Megan Kelly clips. Let's just see where she's at today. This one, she's talking about Trump supporters. So which of which I thought she was one at one time, but not now. Now we're just cult members. So let's see what she has to say. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Okay. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: ⁓ yeah, she's good. She's talking to the Hodge twins. I forgot about that guys. I they must have gone off the rails too, on the same thing. I think I I don't pay attention to the Hodge twins and it's not for any reason. ⁓ I just don't, you know, I only have so much time and attention. Yo, It's Carrie: I love these guys. No. Okay. I didn't think that but Todd: I think the situation they're talking about is the Iran war, which they perceive to be a war of Israeli choice. Okay. I think. That seems to be what they're after. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. Todd: What what is she talking about? He just Mega just destroyed the two candidates that Trump mobilized them against within their own party. Like every poll you see, by and large, Trump's got I don't know, ninety plus percent of the Republican Party still on board. Yo, It's Carrie: I don't know. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Maybe she just means they're just, you know, small groups in like Kentucky and Texas. Todd: I think she means small groups of of right wing podcasters that used to appear like they were rational people before they got infected by the Jew virus that seems to be rampant now among the right wing. Yeah, the Jew hatred virus. It's just like and and that seems to never that it never seems to lead people into a good area. And listen, I'm all for criticizing the nation state of Israel. Yo, It's Carrie: Right. The Jew the Jew hating virus. Mm-hmm. It's weird. The g yeah, the leadership, the government. Absolutely. But Todd: I don't have any problem with that at all. But for some reason that always seems to devolve into the Jews. And and it just seems to widen out. And I think, wait a minute, wait a minute. When I criticize the the American government, I'm not criticizing all Americans everywhere. Do you know what I mean? I d I don't it it's a it's an odd thing. Let's let Megan keep. Yo, It's Carrie: I know, what is that? Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It is. Todd: I don't love Mark Levin, but I love Trump. I don't care one way or the other about Mark Levin. Yo, It's Carrie: No. I mean you Yeah, but Again, you know what? I just feel like they're underestimating she sounds just like politicians who underestimate the American people. It's like we can have an independent thought. We can like Trump and ⁓ not like Mark Levin. We can like Mark Levin and change our minds, but it's weird. Todd: Yeah. Yeah, i i this doesn't come off that much different than than Thomas Massey say well they're just kinda stupid. That's that's the thing. Yo, It's Carrie: Right. That's what she sounds like. She sounds like we have no we have no like autonomy of mind. It's okay. Todd: Right. It's exactly how people used to describe Rush Limbaugh and his audience. That all Rush Limbaugh just has thirty-five million mind numb robots out there. They they don't have the ability to think for themselves. It's just it's the laziest media trope. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's really wild. Mm, less formidable. Todd: I don't I just don't understand. ⁓ it's like they're in a different Yeah. I I d I feel like are we not living on the same in the same place? Yo, It's Carrie: That's really odd. Right. You know what? And we're not. Here's the thing. We're talking about ⁓ Megan Kelly who lives in a very sheltered media kind of celebrity, quasi celebrity realm. You know what I mean? I mean, she's not live she's not living among regular people. Just like Hollywood, when Hollywood talks about, you know, the atrocities on the Todd: Right. Yes. Clearly. Yo, It's Carrie: the streets and it's like you don't even know like you don't even pay your own bills. ⁓ You know, you don't even drive your own car. Like I I don't know why you're it's kinda like that. I feel like that's what she sounds like now. Todd: Karen Bass. This is and I'm telling you, Tucker's in the same way it let's listen to her right now. Yo, It's Carrie: And and what has she done to her face? Anyway, go ahead. Todd: Well, I don't know. That's for you to comment on curious. A fellow woman. Yo, It's Carrie: She just and her sh I'm sorry. You know what? I'm sorry, I see it. She has just gotten really skinny. I and I I don't mean to I don't mean to do this, but but I just realized she has just totally slimmed down so much and I'm seeing that in some famous women right now too. They're just getting so thin that they look different. Okay. Todd: She is terribly skinny. I I think she's too little. They need to eat some McDonald's, some Trump McDonald's. A double quarter pounder with cheese. All right, Megan. This is this is another point of just they tie themselves to this gloom and doom vision of America. Like whatever you thought Ronald Reagan was, the shiny city on the hill, this is the opposite. This is this is just. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Got it. Yes. Todd: Well, to be fair, I mean hopefully Trump has another election to win, but I don't know. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. You and I disagree on that, but I'm thinking to myself, why are you even like, why are you even talking that way? He's not he's not running. Todd: And and she just keeps she keeps going and going and going on all this, you can't do this, everything's crater, and the whole world is coming apart, Megan. That's a that that that really is kind of where she's coming at on this whole thing. Now I'm gonna come I'm gonna circle back to one last Megan clip because I think and she's talking to the Hodge twins again here. I believe this is what's going on. I believe when Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Okay. Todd: Think this is gonna well I this is gonna point us in the direction of what's going on with these people. Why are why why are they what what's happened? Is it just the Ira is it just the Iran? They were that concerned about the Iran war. I mean, we don't have any boots on the ground, so whatever constitutes a war these days, I suppose. We've I don't know, maybe lost 10 or 11 service members, something. So let's hear what Megan Kelly. I think. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: Let's listen to what she's talking about with the Hodge twins. ⁓ she's talking about I should have set this up. I thought as she said at the beginning, it's Muslims that she's talking about. Muslims are lovely people and they don't have any designs on jihad. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. ⁓ sh she's calling them lovely. Todd: No, not at all. Mm-hmm. Yo, It's Carrie: Really? Todd: Just just like Christians. Mm-hmm. Other than the suicide vests, that's a little different. Yo, It's Carrie: I'll do then the kill the infidel. Todd: Okay. So Meg and Kelly, and that you'll find the same thing with Tucker Crow. This is good you're gonna find this with all of them, that suddenly, suddenly, they are extremely sensitive and pro-Islam. Now, I don't know what's happened. I don't know how they went f like pro-Trump to anti-Jew to pro Islam. But you know, you wonder if some cutter money is flowing around. I just Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Well I was gonna say it's ⁓ yeah, it seems like seems kind of radical. Seems like a radical shift. Todd: Seems like one to me. I think Okay. Now let's try this is the remember the young Turk. So this is Sank Uygh, which I can I think it's Uyghur and ⁓ and his ⁓ now I just forgot his name her her name. The the blonde chick that's with him all the time, who I love, and I can't remember her name. Yo, It's Carrie: Wow. Yes. Yeah. And it it's not Anastasia, it's ⁓ Todd: Anna something. Yo, It's Carrie: You love this. Kasparian. Yeah. Todd: Anna Casparian, that's who it is. Good job, Carrie. Carrie's always there for me. Anna Casparian. I don't think I love Anna Kasparian, but this is, I think, most mostly sync. So let's listen to a little bit of of of this conversation. Because this is gonna sound oddly familiar to the Megan Kelly clip that we just heard, and to what you could hear any day that you happen to turn on Tucker and he's got some Muslim on talking about how great Islam is. Yo, It's Carrie: You you love her. I'm like I've heard you say it. I've heard you say it. Todd: Mm-hmm. Crazy talk. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Has anyone been alive for any terrorist attacks over the past hell I don't know, thirty or forty years? Were they were they Muslims? Were there Muslim terrorist attacks or did that not happen? Was that Israeli propaganda? I'm just trying to figure it out. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Yeah, and you know what else, Todd? I wanna say has anyone ever been alive to hear our mainstream media be anti anti Muslim ever? Todd: That that's that yeah, that that's my whole p like okay now suddenly Yo, It's Carrie: I I've missed that. I've missed that. I've I've basically all I've heard is them chanting, you know, g that we're xenophobes and Todd: The only reason that you think that the that in Iran they get in groups and chant death to Israel is because of Israeli propaganda. You wanna now I I've heard this point made and I think this is a pretty good point. Well, you want to see how comparable Israel and these Muslim countries are. Go stand on a street corner in Israel and start talking about how bad Israel is, and then go try it in Saudi Arabia or one of these other countries and see which one you get locked up in first. It's not gonna be Israel. Yo, It's Carrie: Right. Todd: Israel functions mostly like a Western democracy. Yo, It's Carrie: Hm. Todd: And I I'm just telling you, it's a it's ⁓ I don't even know if we need to listen to the rest of saying because it's ⁓ it's all just brain there's a there's there's it's like a it's like a tapeworm in people's brains when they when when they go anti Jew. Well and and really that's where it always goes. They start it, they try to start anti anti Israel, and they just can't stop themselves from being anti Jew, and I don't know why. Yo, It's Carrie: That's so crazy. Yeah. Right. It's so it's so weird. Yeah, where does that come from? Todd: And then as soon as they go anti Jew, they can't stop themselves from being pro Islam all of a sudden. And we I don't even think we've ever had an Islamic terrorist attack. Like what is going on? Yo, It's Carrie: Right. It's a strange i idealistic ⁓ not idealistic ⁓ ideology domino effect for some reason. Like first this, then this, then that. It's odd. I don't get it. You think Todd: Well ⁓ i i it's weird. ⁓ yeah. Jihad isn't even a real word in the Quran. What? Like Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ my gosh. Do you think what do you think? You think these people are really getting paid by someone? Todd: I think it's real possible. I don't know, but I think it's real possible. I mean what would be you know, in fact, I saw this. Our old buddy, I I just feel like we have to play. If if there's a if there's a Hunter Biden clip that surfaces, like we gotta listen to Hunter Biden. Yo, It's Carrie: Wow. Okay. ⁓ Okay. Haven't seen Hunter in a while. Where is he, by the way? Isn't he like Okay. Todd: I don't know where he is. This is on some podcast. ⁓ I'm not even sure what podcast. ⁓ I anyway, guys. Joe Rogan Podcast News is the one that I that ⁓ posted this, but I maybe it'll tell us what the actual ⁓ podcast is. I don't know. But Hunter Biden's on some podcast talking about Charlie Kirk. And and of course. And you know, not everything. Not everything the hunter says is always wrong. It's an odd it's an odd stew sometimes with hunter. Because you know when he's when when he's giving you recipes for like crack, it's pretty good. Like he's pretty point on. Like you you're like, okay, you try it, you try the spoon, you try the lighter, and it all works. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ no. Do. I wouldn't know, but I wouldn't know, but I would trust Hunter Biden's input on that. Todd: ⁓ my god, these the dumbest statements that people have. Why do you think Abraham Lincoln was assassinated? Why do you think John F. Kennedy was assassinated? Yo, It's Carrie: Well he's saying he's saying seen. He's never seen though. He's talking about like in his lifetime because he looks like about seventeen. ⁓ Todd: Why do you think people are assassinated? ⁓ okay. Wait a second. Come on, man. Yo, It's Carrie: Well yeah yeah. Todd: We're talking about is is Tyler Robinson, the guy who is ⁓ accused of killing Charlie Kirk. That that's who he's talking about. Yo, It's Carrie: think there's a big difference there. Todd: ⁓ is he is there any truth in what he just said, do you think about the ⁓ the Nick Fuentis wing of the anti Israel right wing? Do you think that that that Hunter is right when he says that there's there's a there's a there's like a a thread to ⁓ There's a piece of that movement that feels like they just want to watch the world burn. They do just want chaos. Do you think that's true? Yo, It's Carrie: I don't I don't know. ⁓ I I'm gonna say I I understand and believe yes there are people like that. I don't know what their ties to Nick Quentes are. So I I I'm not gonna include that in my agreement. But ⁓ but I'm sorry, him saying that ⁓ it could have just chaos. It could have been the guy next to him. It's like, no, I think it was very intentionally him, the front man of this movement. ⁓ my gosh. Okay. Todd: Right. Yeah, I don't think. We're gonna let There's an answer. I just would like to say Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. It's like okay, tomato tomato. Todd: ⁓ I love it. I was waiting for come on man, I missed it. Yo, It's Carrie: Come on, man. Todd: Which group? Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ my gosh. Todd: Hunter never disappoints. I so wanted a crack cocaine recipe at the end of that. Hunter, what am I gonna do? I mean I've got the original, but isn't there a spicy? Yo, It's Carrie: Wow. Did you? Yeah. You he's you wanted the you wanted the little footnotes that like, you know, offer substitutions and stuff? Todd: I can you believe that with a straight face? Hunter said that all it's done is help Mega. All it's done is help the right. All it's done is it it it appears like Charlie Kirk was the only damn holding back the anti Semitic pro Islam crazy of the right wing and that with Charlie Kirk taken out of the way, it's just it's it's it's open season. Seems like that. Yo, It's Carrie: No. Yeah. Mm-hmm. floodgates are open. I I yeah. Todd: Seems like it's hurt Mega more than anything. Yo, It's Carrie: So I I had a little bit of yeah, it has. I had a little bit of an ⁓ roller coaster listening to him give this account because at first I was rolling my eyes with the white male, access to a high power, wah wah, wah. Like I I heard all that. But then all of a sudden it sounded like he shifted to the ridiculousness and impossibility of this guy doing what he did, pulling it off and getting away and confessing via text, those kinds of things. So Todd: Mm-hmm. Yo, It's Carrie: I'm not sure I'm not sure where like you said, he's a did you say an odd stew? His I think it was kind of like I think he talked himself into a corner, like he was accidentally revealing how unlikely all of that was. I don't know. What do you think? Todd: This seems strange. Yeah. You just never know with Hunter what you're gonna get. I I just think Hunter. Hunter wanders aimlessly into things sometimes. And you know, I don't think Yo, It's Carrie: He doesn't blink very much either. He's like Man. So funny. Todd: He's he's got a lot of not juice, but juice rolling through him. Hunter's always a little juiced up. So I anyway, I I wanted to hit some of that. Now, Tulsi Gabbard we talked about is leaving in about a month or something, ⁓ sometime in June, because her husband has a has a rare form of cancer. And I want to play just a couple clips on that. Trump gave her a really ⁓ a really beautiful send off. And so I thought we should listen to that. Let's hear what Trump has to say about Tulsi. I love Tulsi. Yo, It's Carrie: Yes. Mm. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Todd: So I I hate to see her go. And I I hope that her husband can can beat this cancer and that she'll be able to get back in and start serving again because I think she's got a lot to give. But anyway, why the the two the two clips I want to play, I want to play Trump send off a Tulsi, and then I want to play John Solomon talking about what Tulsi's gonna do on her way out. Yo, It's Carrie: Me too. Yeah, me too. Mm hmm for sure. ⁓ okay. Todd: She's done a hell of a job. Yo, It's Carrie: The greatest hoax. Todd: Yeah, there's a lot of fraud and a lot of hoaxes. Yo, It's Carrie: Peace. Todd: Space. Or Trump. He's gotta say terrestrial. I thought that was great. I ⁓ I think Trump genuinely liked Yo, It's Carrie: That's nice. Like how he's like kind of marketing little marketing report in the middle of it sent off to Dulcie. Todd: You know how he is. That's just Trump all the time. He's just always got a lot on his mind and you know. So this is John Solomon talking about Tulsi and what he believes Tulsi is gonna do on her way out. Let's ⁓ let's listen to John Solomon. Yo, It's Carrie: We're trending. Yeah. Yep. Okay. What's coming? Todd: Boom Come on, John. From your lips to God's ears, I hope. Yo, It's Carrie: I hope so. I hope so. I mean, we know it. Todd: Yeah, we're ready for some disclosure. Let's Steven Spielberg do a movie on the twenty twenty election called Disclosure. Yo, It's Carrie: What do you think do you think people will believe it? Todd: I don't know. You know, I honestly don't know with people anymore. All these things come out and nobody really it's just it's like a deluge of information almost. You know what I mean? Which by the way, speaking of deluges, guys, check out Beers with Jesus tomorrow because we're talking about knowing the flood and I'm pretty excited about it. Yeah. That's ⁓ you know, the old Sunday school story. Except we actually believe it. Yo, It's Carrie: Like nobody Mm-hmm. Yep. Ooh there you go. Todd: So we're gonna talk about the story. So So anyway, and check out Toddsworld.net. The links to everything are there. and you got I've got some books on there that are great. Insurrections, the story. It it it's if twenty twenty four went badly, Trump's taken out, and the insurrection that follows. It's all fiction, guys, but it's great. There's two books Operation Last Stand, Circle of Wolves. Give ⁓ a shot. And Witness is great too, The Vanishing. Yo, It's Carrie: So good. ⁓ my gosh. Todd: So anyway, those are great. Leaves the blue wave. We got some some great books. Check those out in Todd'sworld.net. And thank you guys. We've had a great week, ⁓ this past week of people. We've got our our YouTube starting to increase now. And I just want to tell everybody who's new, because I think we got a lot of new listeners, we appreciate you tuning in. We'd love it if you'd subscribe, like us, comment on things as as you see it coming down. We love to see your comments on things. And ⁓ just thanks again. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Todd: And and make sure you like us or follow us and send some clips to friends. That ⁓ that always helps us grow. So Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah, thank you. It's exciting. We're glad you're here. Todd: It is. I'm finally starting to figure out YouTube with the help of Grok. I didn't YouTube didn't make any sense to me. I couldn't there were so many things I didn't understand. So ⁓ so we've had Hunter, we've had the Pope out there talking about AI. Pope's kind of been on a tear about AI lately. He's ⁓ he wants to disarm AI. He's calling for us to disarm AI, which is an interesting way to Yo, It's Carrie: Yay. It's great. ⁓ okay. Yeah. I don't see that I don't see that happening. It's like putting toothpaste back in the tube. Todd: I don't either. It's interesting that the Pope is interesting that the Pope is ⁓ is coming out so hard on this. I I I don't know I wonder exactly what the Pope is afraid of. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Right. Well Right. What's the motivation? Like what's the ch trigger for him? Mm-hmm. Todd: When when you use a term like disarm, and he meant and he and he used it ⁓ intentionally, 'cause he commented on that. I you know, I understand that that's a you know, a strong word. And and then he went on to describe how AI doesn't really have feelings and it doesn't have like this thing that the Pope wrote, what's it called? An encyclical? I'm not a Catholic. I don't know exactly what an encyclical is. I can tell you it was forty thousand words, and I am familiar with word counts because I write books. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. ⁓ I'm not familiar. Is it like a a like a statement of some kind? Yeah. Todd: And forty thousand words is I mean that's a novella almost. That's a hundred pages probably. Something like that. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. ⁓ okay, gotcha. And what is it? Is it like a a state like an official statement by the Pope? Is that what an encyclical is? Todd: I yeah, I think so. I think I you know, I was hoping you would know. You're a resident Catholic carry. I don't know what an encyclical is. Yo, It's Carrie: I'm not I'm just I'm not familiar. I'm gonna look up Todd: But yeah, I thought, man, 40,000's kind of like that's a lot of words. That's a that's 160 pages. They tell you that you figure out an average book, you get about 250 words a page. That's a long that the Pope's writing a short book about AI. And so he clearly believes he clearly believes that this is important. That that we're at we're at something of an important inflection point. And I'm not a Catholic. I don't necessarily buy into the Pope all the time, but I do understand that he's Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. It is called that an encyclical letter. Interesting. Mm-hmm. Todd: The leader of the largest Christian church denomination, you know, in the world. And as such, holds some sway and hopefully is is, we would hope, paying some attention to to the Holy Spirit and and that God's giving him some direction. And and he seems to think this is a ⁓ something that he needs to to go after, like the latest thing, which May twenty ninth, is that today? No, today's the thirty. Today's the thirtieth. Okay, we're recording on Saturday. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Today's the th yeah, we're recording on the thirtieth. Todd: This this he said yesterday, and this is just a ⁓ a post. Artificial intelligence does not undergo experiences, does not possess a body, do not feel or intelligence is, so it's plural. Do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship, or responsibility mean. 100% he's right about that. Nor do they have a moral conscience. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: Since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. That's true too. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ that's true, yeah. Todd: They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the effective relational and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. And he's not wrong, I thought pretty good. Yo, It's Carrie: He's not wrong. Sounds good. ⁓ Yeah, it looks like ⁓ Todd: And I think that the world does need somebody to step in and and at least, you know, stand in the gap and and and provide I it was it I had something by J D Vance. It was talking about AI. It was a short little clip. Here it is. I want to play this quick. ⁓ talking about what he perceives to be the biggest threat from AI. and he's not so that maybe maybe this is whoa. Hold on. It's got a weird little echo, but Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Okay. Todd: See if can get He JD Vance, the vice president, guys, is who we're listening to. And I just want to point out he's at the Air Force Academy. I think it's the Air Force Academy, maybe graduation. Yeah. And so that part of the reason he's talking about warfare is because of that. Yo, It's Carrie: Graduation, I'm sure, right. Mm. Right. Amen. Yeah, that's a good point. Nice. That's ⁓ I think you're muted. Todd: I think I'm muted. Hold on. Mike is temporarily on. What'd you think, Carrie? I thought that was pretty good. Yo, It's Carrie: There you are. It's really good. It's really good. And while you were pulling that up, ⁓ I I ⁓ I agree with all of that. And I think that's an important it's just interesting that we have to we have to have these Todd: Thought it might be one of the best clips we played all day. Like, because you're listening to what very well could be one of the few men who could has a very, very good shot at being the next president of the United States. And so to know where he's thinking and how he's thinking about these things, I think is important. And what he's talking about is very important. Yo, It's Carrie: It's yeah. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh. It is. And it's just interesting that this is where we are in the world, in technological advancement and remembering our humanity. And I love when he said your your mind and your hearts are not artificial. I I just I think this is just a really important and excellent ⁓ point ⁓ point to make to the young people who are gonna be like going into, you know, these Todd: Mm-hmm. Yo, It's Carrie: these candidate these you know air force graduates. I wanted to ⁓ tell you I found a little like kind of a little summary of that particular part of the Pope's message about the disarming. And again, this is like, you know, this is just a summary online, but ⁓ but this helps here. It says Pope Leo calls to disarm AI, ⁓ meaning Preventing powerful private monopolies or geopolitical superpowers from using technology as a tool of domination. He argues that governments must not abdicate control. So, you know, just like what JD Vance is saying, as humans, we can't abdicate control of data infrastructure. ⁓ he's saying specifically to a handful of select, like companies or industries. So I mean mm-hmm. Todd: Yes. Right, hundred percent. And he's right. I I think that the I think the Pope I think it's a good it's a good area. You know, I've been somewhat critical of this Pope 'cause I think he's something of a lefty. But I think this is a good ⁓ this is a this is an area that it's a good place for the church to lead in. Do you know what I mean? It it it i the the the church needs to step into this kind of a moral Yo, It's Carrie: So there are a couple of facets overlapping there, but I think that was a really good point. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I think a lot of them are. Yeah. Todd: kind of dilemma and conundrum that mankind that that we're racing into. We just are. That's how we do everything. I'm that's n it's no different Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Sure. Yes. Yeah, it's like downhill. It's like we're running downhill. Todd: I mean, as soon as you discover it, I'm using Grok all the time. Now, I don't use it, I don't buy into it for content. In other words, we're the content creators. When you listen to this show, this is all me and Carrie. It's just this is our content. AI's not telling me what to talk about. They're not giving me any AI. Any they aren't influencing my opinions at all. ⁓ on on beers with Jesus, I use it lot because I find I can accomplish a lot of research going back and forth with Grok. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Todd: And and it pushes back some on on things. In fact, I I had to screw up. We'll we'll talk about with Beers with Jesus, guys. But as I listened to this week this last week's episode, I was like, man, I think I made a hash out of one of those things. Anyway, out of original sin and and like total depravity, I just think I I will correct it. Anyway, ⁓ but point is that I I found that on the production side of the podcast, it's wildly helpful. So I run Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ okay. Cool. Mm-hmm. ⁓ no. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. Todd: Copies of the transcript through it, suggest edits. I don't do a lot of editing, but it but sometimes it'll be like, you know, you could tighten this segment a little or whatever. Right. I have it generate titles, generate descriptions, everything for putting the clips up and for posting, because I feel like and a lot of times the thumbnails it picks, the titles it picks, they're not what I would pick. But I think what I what what we're trying to put this into to get discovered is. Yo, It's Carrie: As a technical tool. Yeah. Todd: Is AI so I need AI to figure out the algorithm to get me the most views per AI because that gets me to real people, you know what I mean? And it seemed to it seemed to have held. But this is interesting. I was at at my ex-wife's the other day because my we're working on one of the girls' cars, and the guy who works for me does all her car work. And my my sister, my one of my sister's best friends lives with Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: kind of kitty corner and they were walking by the sidewalk. I and I we don't see each other as much as kids get older. It's it's funny how quickly, you know, you just get busy with your own almost adult children and they run you they run you wild, you know? And at least mine do. I don't know. But I saw I saw Amber, my sister, and I in and Brandon was picking her up. So they were in the truck and we're talking for a second and I said I said, you know, I use AI. I've started using AI all the time and they were like Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Certain people. Your paths kind of go in different directions. Yeah. Todd: Both of ⁓ were like, so do we. Like Brandon said he'll he'll have these meetings at work, so they'll have these big meetings. He's in a kind of a big like electrical engineering type company or more more electrical, but they do like controls. So they go into these like H VAC controls and all these anyway. I don't know. It's all commercial stuff. It's a little out of my out of my depth. But Brandon's vice president over there. He's and so he said they'll they'll have these big meetings and he said at the end of the meeting Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Todd: We'll have AI, I think it's Claude that he said they were using. And we'll have them ⁓ I'll say to AI, summarize the entire meeting, give us a transcript of the meeting, and draw up a proposal to this company based on this meeting. And AI just draws the proposal up based on what they just talked about in the meeting. So I and that to me is is more in line with the Bezos that we played last week, talking of comparing digging a basement with a shovel. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Yeah. Hundred percent. Hundred percent. Mm-hmm. Todd: compared to AI enabling you to digging basements with a bulldozer. So there is gonna be, I think, some big benefits and some big productivity benefits. But my point is as soon as you start to use it, I mean it's to the point now where the only thing limiting AI is us being smart enough to ask the right questions or put in the right problems, really. Yo, It's Carrie: Totally. Correct. No, you're absolutely right. We use it to summarize meetings and at the end it it you know it summarizes everything, but also gives us action steps. What we have to do, what's on our to-do list from this meeting, and what's on the client's to-do from the meeting based on the discussion. It's awesome. It also allows, you know, people present, ⁓ people in the meeting to be present and not be taking notes and processing while you're also trying to hold on a conversation. Todd: Mm-hmm. It's amazing. Right. Yo, It's Carrie: I mean it really it's an incredible incredible tool that way. ⁓ but it's not sure. I mean, yeah, absolutely. Todd: But it has some big moral implications. And that's what we're grappling with right now. That's why you have people of the stature of the president or the vice president or the pope or all these people, all these tech companies, or all these CEOs of other companies. Because everybody knows we're running headlong into this. It's it's gonna it's gonna be amazing, but nobody knows exactly what it's gonna be like. And so it's good to have in mind, you know, it might be good to have some guardrails. At the same time, you don't want guardrails because Yo, It's Carrie: Mm hmm. Right. Todd: You don't want to get out competed in AI by China or by whoever. So you you've got this tension with these emerging technologies. And and and it's good that people are grappling with it. Whether or not nobody's gonna get it perfectly right, the Pope isn't gonna get it perfectly right. Because nobody knows exactly we just aren't that great at predicting. But if we can if the Pope if the Pope and if JD Vance and if these pe if if we can bring some some eternal principles Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Right. Like we don't know what we don't know. Yes. Yes. Todd: Some eternal moral principles to it and say we may not have to put up new guardrails, but we need to apply the guardrails we have for humanity to AI. You know what I mean? And then and then the church is the one to help us wrestle with how to do that. And I like the idea of the church being on the front end of that rather than governments, even though I know that that in the end governments are going to have to play a role. But I like that the church is engaged, at least the Catholic Church. I don't know about the rest of Yo, It's Carrie: Yep. Mm-hmm. Sure. ⁓ it is. Todd: The Catholic Church is a little easier to gauge because it's got the one dude in the funny dress at the top. And so you know, ⁓ well, all the Catholic Church is caring about this right now. And so you can say this is I think it's a good thing that that they're engaging in it. And hopefully that's down the line, you know, as it goes down in other denominations. That that we won't be afraid of it, but we'll engage with it. And you know, 'cause I think that's the big 'cause I I do talk to people like Nikki. My wife is like this, just Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: Every time I mention something about AI, it acts like I just used all the water in Lake Michigan. I'm like, no, seriously. We can drive fifteen minutes. You'll see there's so much water in Lake Michigan right now. The water levels are higher this year. But but there's a fear. That's what that fear porn can create is you tend to have people disengage from it and not want to use it. And I thought I don't I don't think that's the best way to deal with it. And so I'm glad that the Pope's taking it head on, I guess. We'll see where he goes with it. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ Right. Right. Yeah, really. All that snow you had. Mm-hmm. Right. I agree with you. Well, no, I agree with you. I don't I don't understand the environmental ⁓ impacts of it. Todd: What do you think, Gary, about AI? Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ Todd: I don't know if any of us do really. Yo, It's Carrie: Right. And and I don't know who to listen to because yeah, because like anything, you have opposite extremes. Yeah. Exactly. I mean the whole like data center concept, it's like, okay, yeah. Whatever. But I mean, it's just it's so it's it's so abstract, it's hard to wrap my head around it. I would need someone to explain it to me like I'm, you know, eight. But Todd: At least the general public competing voices and and then you don't know who to believe. Yeah. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ but I think AI yeah. Actually I should. I should ask AI, AI, are you damaging the environment? I ⁓ I like it as a tool. I think it I agree with you. You asked what I think. I agree with you that it's a it's a very important thing to be asking ⁓ or to keep in perspective the importance of human dignity, you know, huh the humanity. We can't forget our humanity in anything that we do. And we often do. So I think it's good there. Todd: Hey, I'll be glad to do that. Yo, It's Carrie: mentioning it now. Hopefully. Yeah. Todd: Well there's an all-out assault on humanity with the trans movement and with everything else. We don't want to believe in the reality of of human, you know. You can be whatever you want. And and that is the the fear is that that will lead right into some merging of AI or of man and machines because people are like, who cares? There isn't anything unique about humanity. And so to have a figurehead, someone like the Pope Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Todd: ⁓ whether it's Leo this time, it was John Paul when he's dealing with the Soviet Union, John Paul II or whatever. That was important leadership back then. I'm hoping that that proves to be the case with Leo this time. So speaking of the Soviet Union, this is ⁓ our old friend, ⁓ the economist. Just when I went to say his name, ⁓ it's Thomas Sowell, yeah. Thomas Sowell, and he's talking about Soviet Union. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Right. Right. Yes. Is it Thomas is the soul? Soul? ⁓ soul sowl. Mm-hmm. Todd: And I just like these are the kinds of things that I like to just play clips of because if you guys haven't heard this, these are the kinds of clips that will get in your mind and they'll change your life. Like this is like this is like a Hunter Biden crack recipe. That's how good this is. I did. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ cool. He is I was gonna say this guy usually speaks gold, yes. Todd: So let's hear let's hear a little Thomas Soleil wisdom. How good is that? Yo, It's Carrie: That is so good. That is Todd: Those are the kinds of things, those are the kind of worms that can get in your brain and make you really think. And suddenly you'll be like, wait a minute, the government screws up everything. The government took over the Sahara Desert. There'd be a shortage of sand. Yo, It's Carrie: They really do. They really. It's brilliant. It's so great. ⁓ my gosh. Todd: And i I I think that's probably true, you know. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ recently one of my sons said at the end of the day, he and some office mates who are of vastly varying political affiliations got in got into a political conversation. And I was like, Really? 'Cause this is dangerous territory for as vastly varying as they are. I'm not gonna go into details. He just knows. So I said, How did that go? And Todd: Okay. Really? Okay. Yo, It's Carrie: The summary was well, we all pretty much can agree that we don't trust our government. I was like, There you go. It is a good place to start. So that was encouraging. Todd: Good place to start. You start there, then you tr then you start looking for who you can trust. Don't let it lead you to the nihilism of you can't trust anyone or anything. That's the danger. And a lot of our society is there, a lot of our culture is there in kind of a nihilistic yeah, it's all just bullshit. You know you can't trust anybody, there's nothing real, there's nothing, you know. Yo, It's Carrie: Okay. Good point. Mm-hmm. Right. Where would you go with that? How would you direct a small group of young men having this conversation? Because that's a really important next step. Todd: Well, I'd look for truth, but I mean you hope that they believe that truth is possible. I mean if they don't y I don't know how what you do because that's it's a heavy lift at that point. You know what I mean? And and and there's a lot of people in our society that it that that don't have it. Like they don't they don't believe it. It's all relative. We we've had rel moral relativism Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, true. Okay. Right. ⁓ true. Yeah. Todd: Shoved down our throats for so long, we don't think there's anything that's really true. So when Jesus says I'm the way, the truth, and the life, people with that kind of a paradigm don't have any way to even process it. They're like, What do you mean the truth? You know what I mean? And so Right. That's and that's that's been a problem that we've had the Yo, It's Carrie: Right. No, yeah, you gotta find your truth, man. Yeah. I should say girl because I feel like that's a female thing. Women are like, You gotta find your truth. I'm just speaking my truth. Are there? Ugh, makes me cringe. I hate that expression. Anyway. Okay, interesting. Todd: I there's a lot of guys that way too. It's it's kinda wild anymore. Yeah. Remember a little extra AI stuff. I I think that's what he's talking about. It's it's a little Ben Sass who's dying. We remember the former senator in Nebraska. he's ⁓ yeah, great guy. And here he is. I think he's talking about AI here. And and like I said, I've been impressed with Ben Sass since this diagnosis and the way he's handled everything and and Yo, It's Carrie: Yes. ⁓ yes. The amazing guy. Mm-hmm. Todd: I guess the way he's going out, when I see somebody really go out well, like man, that's impressive. You know? It's one thing it's one thing to do well in health. It's another thing it's another thing to be so impressive in sickness. You know? Anyway, let's listen to Ben says in just a minute. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Todd: He's right about that. Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah, that's interesting. ⁓ Todd: I mean Congress is a sh sh shit show of just Go ahead, Gary. Yo, It's Carrie: I'd love to share something. So this is more related to ⁓ is it Ben Sass? Is that his name? More related to him and the way you said he's handling his illness than what he was just speaking about in terms of Congress and whatever. But but I I I think you'll appreciate this. ⁓ one of my favorite small time comedians, his name is Keith Alberstat. He's hilarious. Alberstat is Todd: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay. I've never heard of him. Keith Alberstadt. Yo, It's Carrie: I yeah, he's Keith Alberstadt. He's the best. And I I love him so much. And he recently ⁓ posted a picture of ⁓ him and his wife with their three children and their fourth, who's an infant in the hospital in their their their arms. And ⁓ this ⁓ little baby ⁓ passed away. Todd: Called out on Todd's world. Okay. Yeah. Yo, It's Carrie: And this is what he said about it. And I thought it was just I I well, I'll I'll hear your thoughts on it after. He says, Our sweet Therese Cecilia is now fully healed in heaven. We were gifted a few beautiful days with our precious girl, allowing her to spend time with her siblings. We always knew our time with Therese may be brief. So they knew this was coming. So we enjoyed every second of our pregnancy. She knew nothing but love. Todd: Okay. Yo, It's Carrie: We're so grateful for everyone's love and support, and especially to our Therese for showing us just how beautiful a little life can be, regardless of its length. We love you, sweet angel. Todd: Wow. That's really good. Yo, It's Carrie: I thought that was really profound to yeah. Todd: Yeah. Compared to compare that to the people who say, well, if we know this kid's gonna die, we gotta board him, you gotta do all you know, that's that technology end. And that's the that's the lack of human dignity end. So to watch it on the other side and see that human dignity and love just shining forth, that's what That's what the Pope's after. That's what AI can't do. You know what I mean? That's true. It's like no, that's that's that's really impressive. Yo, It's Carrie: Exactly. Right. Right. Two that's what he's after. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. But The yeah, impressive, beautiful. And although that must just be devastating, I I mean you can't actually you can't actually help but feel a little joyful for just how beautifully they're looking at this. Todd: Right. The way they handled it all. Because the same exact thing could wreck you. It could wreck a person. It could wreck a family. Yo, It's Carrie: Yes. It's incredible. I I've just never seen anything like it. Could wreck a family. I think of the lesson they've taught their kids. I I think it just it speaks it just speaks volumes to their their respect for yeah, for the dignity of a human life, even if it's short. I just thought it was incredible. Mm. Yeah. Todd: Yeah. It's beautiful. That's a that's a better that like like that's one of the best anti abortion ads that I think you could ever have is to to actually see real love in work in a situation that's a really tough situation. You know? That's impressive. Well, we're almost done today. ⁓ you know, I ⁓ we we do beers with Jesus too, guys, which I told you. And that is coming tomorrow. Genesis six, I think. Well, we did we did the first four Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. Mm. So pretty. Mm. Check it out. Mm-hmm. Todd: verses of Genesis six last week, which is the Nephilim and all the crazy. Which by the way, Tucker I think was trying to compete with us. He did it too, which he might have had a few more views. But ⁓ this ⁓ this is Mel Gibson. I had I kind of thought, you know, I should play this on beers, but then it never seems to fit into beers. So this this is this is more on he is ⁓ currently ⁓ Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ That's all right. Keep share keep sharing us. ⁓ He's so interesting. I can't wait to see what you're gonna share. Todd: I think they just wrapped pre production on the next Passion of the Christ. ⁓ the one that's about the resurrection of the Christ. I I I can't remember what it's going to be called. It's been 20 years since he did the Passion of the Christ. And so, and this is the story of the resurrection and the ascension essentially. And here he is on Rogan, but he's talking this is this is definitely a spiritual conversation that that Mel's having. So I just found it interesting. It's three minutes. Let's see what Mel has to say. Yo, It's Carrie: ⁓ Okay. Right? Okay. Mm-hmm. Okay. Good question. Todd: That's a good line. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. ⁓ that's cool. I love that. Todd: What do you think, Carrie? Yo, It's Carrie: He's such an interesting character. I like how he said that he came to h his faith ⁓ like as an adult through intellect and reading. And I think I think that that's I think that that is just interesting. Todd: I thought it was interesting too. I'll tell you what I thought that was, guys, is I thought that was a great advertisement for Beers with Jesus because what he's talking about doing when he's talking about grappling with how do we take this story of Jesus and how do how how does it spread out? And we take the the larger story of the Bible and how does it apply and what do we do with it and what do we do with some of these hard things? And guys, that is what we do every week on Beers with Jesus. We went all the way through the book of Mark, we went all the way through the book of Acts. Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Todd: And we're going through the book of Genesis right now. And you really ought to give it a chance because I think you're gonna find this is different than a lot of what you're ⁓ a lot of the religious type podcast and stuff you're used to hearing. It's not preachy. The way we go about it's a little different, and the way we focus on the story and the storytelling and the thread of the narrative. I just don't think there's a lot of that going on out there. What do you think, Carrie? I think what the way we're looking at it is the lens. Yo, It's Carrie: I agree. Mm-hmm. Todd: That everybody loves the chosen for because it's it's it's all story. It's taking it and it's just boiling it down to story. You know what I mean? Yo, It's Carrie: Yeah. Fr yes, from not an academic perspective, but just as a as a human perspective. I feel like that's how we are. And that's that's why yeah, that's why I like that show. It just humanizes everyone. We look at the stories and we imagine what are these people going through and what what are they experiencing? Because it wasn't written that way because it's not it's not written like fiction. It's and it's it just I like it too. I like it. Absolutely. That's right. Todd: Yeah. God gave us an imagination for a reason for a reason. He expects us to bring it to the story and to the text. So anyway, that was I thought Mel was great in it. I can't wait to see the resurrection of the Christ. And I listen, guys, join us for Bears with Jesus. Give us a shot. Tell us what you think. And ⁓ like us. Thank you for joining us, new people. We'll be back next Tuesday with another wildly opinionated news hour. And Yo, It's Carrie: Mm-hmm. Yep. That's cool. Yeah. It'll be good. Sounds good. Todd: Wednesdays with Beers with Jesus. And we'd love to hear comments. Anything else? Send some clips to people. Thank you for joining us. You're the reason that we do it. And that's why we love the comments because it kind of enlarges the conversation. So all right, guys. Thanks for joining me today, Carrie. Yo, It's Carrie: Perfect. Thank you so much. Great seeing you. Thank you. Todd: We will catch you. Well, we'll see you tomorrow for Beers with Jesus. And we'll catch you guys there too. All right. Have a great week. Thanks, guys. Yo, It's Carrie: Ha ha ha. Sounds good. Bye.
