Missouri Wildlife Officials: Invasive Worms Can Jump Up To 12 Inches

Invasive Jumping Worms have been spreading into more than a dozen states in the U-S, including Missouri. Angela Sokolowski tells Sue Danielson that while most species of worms are good for the soil, the jumping worm (also known as the Alabama jumper or snake worm) is not a welcome sight. She says she gets a few phone calls each year about them. She also says that, according to one source, there have been 60 confirmed reports of jumping worms in the state.
