- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcomings verdict with sentater Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and we have a lot to cover, including the possibility
- 0:09Speaker 1: of a terror attack around the world on the thirteenth
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Friday. This being declared by Hama says a day
- 0:18Speaker 1: for people to go out and unleash war wherever they
- 0:21Speaker 1: are in the world. If you are a follower of them,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I want to start with this. There's a lot of
- 0:26Speaker 1: parents I've talked to, even notes that are coming out
- 0:29Speaker 1: now from schools to parents about this concern of this threat.
- 0:34Speaker 1: From your perspective as a senator, what have you guys
- 0:37Speaker 1: been told or briefed on or has there been anything?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Really?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Is this more just hey, it's an international threat, a
- 0:42Speaker 1: call to arms by a terrorist organization.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Well, as senators, we have not been briefed differently from
- 0:50Speaker 3: anything that is public right now and in the news.
- 0:53Speaker 3: So you and I are sitting here it is eleven
- 0:56Speaker 3: twenty pm on Thursday night and recording this right now.
- 1:01Speaker 3: This pod will come out early Friday morning. As of now,
- 1:07Speaker 3: nothing has happened in terms of a terrorist attack in
- 1:11Speaker 3: the United States. All of us have read the news
- 1:15Speaker 3: that Hamas has called for a global day of Jahad
- 1:21Speaker 3: on Friday the thirteenth. I don't know what will come
- 1:26Speaker 3: of that. I hope and pray nothing will come of that.
- 1:30Speaker 3: But one of the things we've talked about on the
- 1:33Speaker 3: pod this week on both Mondays and Wednesdays is, in
- 1:37Speaker 3: my judgment, the risk of a serious terrorist attack in
- 1:42Speaker 3: the United States is right now greater than it has
- 1:47Speaker 3: been any time since September eleventh. I think there's a
- 1:50Speaker 3: confluence of a number of factors. One obviously, the most
- 1:57Speaker 3: significant war in Israel in fifty years, the most significant
- 2:02Speaker 3: attack on Israel in fifty years. Number two, two and
- 2:07Speaker 3: a half years of open borders on our southern border,
- 2:11Speaker 3: seven point six million people coming in illegally, including a
- 2:16Speaker 3: very significant number of people on the terror watch list,
- 2:20Speaker 3: and an exposure that there could be a significant number
- 2:23Speaker 3: of terrorists from countries in the Middle East who have
- 2:27Speaker 3: come into this country in the past two and a
- 2:30Speaker 3: half years. All of that combines, I know that law
- 2:34Speaker 3: enforcement in cities across America is on high alert today.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Police officers, police departments are taking these threats seriously. In
- 2:47Speaker 3: New York, obviously, New York has long been tragically a
- 2:51Speaker 3: target for terrorism, and New York has a very significant
- 2:55Speaker 3: Jewish population.
- 2:57Speaker 2: The NYPD.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Is beefing up patrols, in particular at Jewish schools because sadly,
- 3:06Speaker 3: with a call to Jahad, that could be a target
- 3:11Speaker 3: of violence or terrorism. My hope, my prayer is that
- 3:15Speaker 3: we don't see that today in America or or globally,
- 3:22Speaker 3: but I do think the risks are significant. This is
- 3:24Speaker 3: a dangerous world, and so I think everyone should should
- 3:29Speaker 3: should be careful and be vigilant and be alert. There
- 3:33Speaker 3: are scheduled protests across the country by pro Palestinian forces,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and that that we have seen with Black Lives Matter
- 3:44Speaker 3: and Antifa riots, that protests can turn violence, particularly when
- 3:51Speaker 3: you have local politicians that prevent the police from doing
- 3:58Speaker 3: their jobs. We saw that with the Black Lives riot,
- 4:01Speaker 3: Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots. I certainly hope and
- 4:05Speaker 3: pray we don't see a repeat of that tomorrow. But
- 4:09Speaker 3: I do think this is a time for everyone to
- 4:11Speaker 3: be cautious, to be careful, to be alert, and certainly
- 4:16Speaker 3: law enforcement is on high alert right now.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You know, You've talked about this, and it's something that
- 4:26Speaker 1: keeps coming up with everybody that I've been talking to
- 4:28Speaker 1: for the last several days. And that is for years,
- 4:32Speaker 1: not months. Years You've been warning Congress and the country
- 4:37Speaker 1: when you are either on this show or on Fox
- 4:40Speaker 1: or wherever you're doing TV or doing other interviews of
- 4:43Speaker 1: the of the national security threat at the southern border.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It's not just a legal immigrants coming across. It's it's
- 4:48Speaker 1: it is a national security thread of who may be
- 4:51Speaker 1: coming across. How frustrated are you right now that Democrats
- 4:56Speaker 1: refuse to understand I think is the scariest part and
- 5:01Speaker 1: admit that an open border allows for terrorists to come in.
- 5:04Speaker 1: This year, for example, we have gotten five years worth
- 5:09Speaker 1: in one year of people coming across the southern border
- 5:12Speaker 1: who are on the terrorists watch list. And that's who
- 5:14Speaker 1: we've caught. So this year more people in the last
- 5:17Speaker 1: five years combined. That is a shocking number. And that
- 5:21Speaker 1: is an official government number. That means Joe Biden knows
- 5:24Speaker 1: that number, and yet Democrats refuse to look at the
- 5:28Speaker 1: border even from a national security standpoint.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Well, I have to say, Joe Biden does not know
- 5:34Speaker 3: that number. I do not think there is any chance
- 5:36Speaker 3: if you ask Joe Biden that number, that any part
- 5:39Speaker 3: of his brain has any awareness of that number. And
- 5:42Speaker 3: I have no indication that anyone's briefing him on it.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I have no indication that anyone in the administration cares
- 5:48Speaker 3: about it, that anyone thinks he cares about it. And
- 5:52Speaker 3: I got to say that number is not the one
- 5:54Speaker 3: that worries me the most. Yes, we are seeing a
- 5:58Speaker 3: massive spike in terms of the number of people apprehended
- 6:01Speaker 3: who are on the terror watchless. And mind you, you get
- 6:03Speaker 3: on the terror watchless because there is credible and meaningful
- 6:06Speaker 3: evidence that you are a risk for terrorism. You don't
- 6:09Speaker 3: get on that list lightly. What worries me much more
- 6:15Speaker 3: is how many people on the terror watch list are
- 6:17Speaker 3: among the god aways. And you have to understand they
- 6:21Speaker 3: are two broad categories on our southern border, those who
- 6:23Speaker 3: are apprehended and those who they see but they get away.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And the difference that the people who are apprehended, the
- 6:32Speaker 3: vast majority of the people who are apprehended are voluntarily
- 6:35Speaker 3: turning themselves in. They're going and seeking border patrol agents
- 6:38Speaker 3: and turning themselves in, and which raises the question the
- 6:44Speaker 3: god aways, why are they bothering to run? Why are
- 6:47Speaker 3: they actively evading border patrol and law enforcement? And it
- 6:51Speaker 3: raises the natural inference that the god aways are much
- 6:54Speaker 3: more likely to have seriously dangerous characteristics, whether it is
- 6:59Speaker 3: that there can victed felons, convicted murderers, convicted rapist, convicted
- 7:03Speaker 3: child molesters, whether they're gang members MS thirteen or other gangs,
- 7:08Speaker 3: or whether they are in fact terrorists coming to America
- 7:13Speaker 3: with the intention of committing acts of terror. And given
- 7:17Speaker 3: the very high numbers in the people we've apprehended, the
- 7:22Speaker 3: big concern is how many are are the ones that
- 7:26Speaker 3: got away?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Those gotaway numbers are something that have to be haunting
- 7:30Speaker 1: to law enforcement, border security as well. You combine that
- 7:35Speaker 1: with these new threats, and my biggest fear is we
- 7:39Speaker 1: could have stopped these people from getting in, and we
- 7:42Speaker 1: deliberately chose not to because the Democratic Party said I
- 7:46Speaker 1: would rather put politics ahead of national security. Did they
- 7:49Speaker 1: learn nothing from nine to eleven? And how frustrating is
- 7:52Speaker 1: that from your perspective when you have to work with
- 7:54Speaker 1: them on these things in Congress.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Well, it certainly seems that this White Hose and this
- 8:00Speaker 3: administration learned nothing from nine to eleven because they're setting
- 8:05Speaker 3: up the conditions for yet another nine to eleven. And
- 8:10Speaker 3: it's worth noting that this horrific terror attack, this act
- 8:14Speaker 3: of war carried out by Hamas and Israel. It's the
- 8:18Speaker 3: worst attack on Israel in fifty years. It is Israel's
- 8:21Speaker 3: nine to eleven. But it is also an American terror attack.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Just yesterday, John Kirby updated the number of Americans killed
- 8:31Speaker 3: in Israel. The number from the White House is We
- 8:35Speaker 3: now know that twenty seven Americans were killed in Israel,
- 8:40Speaker 3: and at least fourteen stand unaccounted for, which means there's
- 8:45Speaker 3: a very real possibility that they are hostages in Gaza
- 8:49Speaker 3: right now, twenty seven Americans killed in a terror attack
- 8:53Speaker 3: ranks high among the worst terror attacks directed at Americans
- 8:58Speaker 3: in history. Now, obviously, the Israelis paid a orders of
- 9:04Speaker 3: magnitude higher price, and it was directed principally at the
- 9:09Speaker 3: more than one thy two hundred Israelis who were murdered.
- 9:11Speaker 3: But twenty seven Americans being killed in a terror attack
- 9:16Speaker 3: is very significant, and I pray that that is not
- 9:19Speaker 3: foreshadowing for what could come next.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I want to talk to you about our friends that
- 9:24Speaker 1: guests the precious metals real quick. If you're like me

- 9:33Speaker 1: who can you really trust? Well, I didn't want a
- 9:35Speaker 1: bad investment. I wanted to make sure that I had
- 9:39Speaker 1: someone I could work with, and that is when I
- 9:42Speaker 1: found a gust of precious Metals. If you have an
- 9:45Speaker 1: IRA or a four oh one K and you want

- 10:44Speaker 1: So text the word bend to six eight five nine
- 10:48Speaker 1: two or augusta Precious Metals dot Com. You just brought
- 10:51Speaker 1: up another aspect of everything that's happening in Israel.
- 10:54Speaker 2: We have seen.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Other countries, for example, Mexico quickly evacuate people that were
- 11:02Speaker 1: in in Israel who were visiting there. We have seen
- 11:07Speaker 1: other nations that have come in as well, and there
- 11:09Speaker 1: seems to be somewhat of a slowness and response. There's
- 11:13Speaker 1: been criticism of Americans that have been in Israel trying
- 11:17Speaker 1: to get out quickly and not seem like it's a
- 11:20Speaker 1: top priority of this administration to hurry up and allow
- 11:24Speaker 1: them to get home. There's a lot of people that
- 11:26Speaker 1: go on pilgrimages, a lot of elderly people that are
- 11:30Speaker 1: from this country that go on trips to Israel. They're
- 11:33Speaker 1: wanting to get home quickly, and there seems to be
- 11:36Speaker 1: a lack of urgency compared to other countries. Have you
- 11:40Speaker 1: heard from people in Texas specifically that are trying to
- 11:43Speaker 1: get home and what is the government's response on that.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Well, we have we have heard from a great many
- 11:51Speaker 3: Texans who are in Israel who are trying to get home,
- 11:56Speaker 3: And actually I have put up on my official Senate
- 11:59Speaker 3: website a page of resources. So the website is Cruise
- 12:04Speaker 3: dot Senate dot gov, Slash information DASH for Dash Texans
- 12:14Speaker 3: DASH currently DASH in Dash Israel. So it's a little
- 12:19Speaker 3: bit clunky, but you can find it by searching for
- 12:23Speaker 3: information for Texans currently in Israel. And we have put
- 12:27Speaker 3: up a series of links for people who are in
- 12:30Speaker 3: Israel who are trying to get home, links to go
- 12:32Speaker 3: through the State Department, links and resources, links to our staff.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I have an entire staff of people that are working
- 12:41Speaker 3: right now with numerous Texans who are in Israel who
- 12:45Speaker 3: are wanting to come home. And it is not it
- 12:48Speaker 3: is not necessarily easy, but we are actively working with
- 12:52Speaker 3: dozens of Texans trying to assist them in coming home.
- 12:56Speaker 3: But it remains a very dangerous time because Israel is
- 13:00Speaker 3: in a state of war right now.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You talk about the national security side this and John Kirby,
- 13:06Speaker 1: it seems almost like he's the acting President United States
- 13:08Speaker 1: of America giving out more information.
- 13:10Speaker 2: The President is is.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Out there and he talked about the Americans that have died,
- 13:15Speaker 1: but also those that are unaccounted for. I want people
- 13:17Speaker 1: to hear what he had to say, and then I
- 13:18Speaker 1: want to get your reaction to it.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Start with the saddest of news. We can now update
- 13:25Speaker 5: the number of Americans that we know have been killed
- 13:30Speaker 5: to twenty seven, and the number of unaccounted for stands
- 13:34Speaker 5: today at fourteen. We're obviously doing everything we can to
- 13:40Speaker 5: support and inform the families. Now sadly, five more families
- 13:45Speaker 5: have now gotten the worst possible news that any family
- 13:48Speaker 5: can conceive of getting, and we're going to stay in
- 13:51Speaker 5: touch with them as appropriate. Same goes for those family
- 13:55Speaker 5: members of those who are unaccounted for, and by unaccounted for,
- 13:58Speaker 5: we mean that we don't know.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Where they are.
- 14:00Speaker 5: They don't know where they are, so we're going to
- 14:01Speaker 5: obviously stay in touch with them as well, and certainly
- 14:04Speaker 5: we're continuing to work with Israeli officials to make sure
- 14:06Speaker 5: that we're getting as much context and information as possible
- 14:09Speaker 5: that we will share with them.
- 14:13Speaker 2: That is very concerning.
- 14:15Speaker 1: If you're an American who has a level one that's
- 14:16Speaker 1: still missing, what have you been told and what are
- 14:19Speaker 1: we doing behind the scenes to get them back, Because
- 14:22Speaker 1: we still have not seen a very clear statement from
- 14:25Speaker 1: this White House that you do not harm Americans and
- 14:28Speaker 1: if you do, there will be hell to pay well.
- 14:31Speaker 4: And for.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Those twenty seven Americans who've been murdered, there has been
- 14:39Speaker 3: no suggestion from this White House of consequences. Israel is
- 14:45Speaker 3: exacting consequences. But look, one of the things that has
- 14:49Speaker 3: been so frustrating, we're now just under a week into
- 14:53Speaker 3: this war. Virtually every single day the Biden administer has
- 15:00Speaker 3: put out statements one after the other, undermining Israel, urging
- 15:06Speaker 3: Israel not to react, urging Israel not to engage in
- 15:09Speaker 3: military conduct, urging Israel to have a cease fire. And
- 15:14Speaker 3: let's just run through through a few of those. Because
- 15:18Speaker 3: the night of the first attack, as the atrocities were happening,
- 15:22Speaker 3: here's what the Biden State Department tweeted out, quote, we
- 15:25Speaker 3: unequivocally condemned the attack of Amos terrorists and the loss
- 15:28Speaker 3: of life that is incurred. We urge all sides to
- 15:32Speaker 3: refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing. Now,
- 15:40Speaker 3: a couple of observations about about that tweet. Number one,
- 15:45Speaker 3: the opening sentence, we unequivocally condemned the attack of Amos terrists. Okay,
- 15:48Speaker 3: that part is okay, and the loss of life that
- 15:53Speaker 3: has incurred. Now, it's interesting that is written in the
- 15:57Speaker 3: passive voice. Have you ever heard that phrasing the loss
- 16:01Speaker 3: of life that has incurred? That is someone trying desperately
- 16:07Speaker 3: to say to remove the passive voices. When you remove
- 16:11Speaker 3: the actor, you remove that hamas terrorists have murdered now
- 16:18Speaker 3: over a thousand Israelis. Instead, it's simply loss of life
- 16:22Speaker 3: that has incurred. It just happened magically, not through any
- 16:26Speaker 3: actor murdering them. And then we urge all sides to
- 16:30Speaker 3: refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. So who are the
- 16:34Speaker 3: retaliatory attacks that's clearly directed at the Israeli military, and
- 16:38Speaker 3: then terror and violence solved nothing. Now, as you know,
- 16:41Speaker 3: this came out at three in the morning, and within
- 16:44Speaker 3: minutes I had a response out on Twitter denouncing it,
- 16:47Speaker 3: saying this is disgraceful and every single person involved in
- 16:49Speaker 3: drafting and approving this tweet should be immediately expelled for
- 16:52Speaker 3: the US government, And within minutes of my pointing it out,
- 16:58Speaker 3: the State Department.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Deleted that tweet.
- 17:00Speaker 3: That was the first day, the very first instinct as
- 17:03Speaker 3: Israel's being invaded, as terrorists are murdering their civilians, as
- 17:06Speaker 3: their citizens are being kidnapped, as infants and children are
- 17:10Speaker 3: being murdered. The position of the State Department was, do nothing,
- 17:13Speaker 3: do not engage in retaliatory strikes. Just sit there and
- 17:16Speaker 3: allow the terrorists to continue to murder your citizens. Now,
- 17:22Speaker 3: the next day the State Department posted a summary of
- 17:27Speaker 3: a call between Tony Blink and the Secretary of State
- 17:30Speaker 3: and the Turkish government. And the next day the State
- 17:33Speaker 3: Department said they were working on an immediate ceasefire. Now,
- 17:39Speaker 3: an immediate ceasefire. This is after the massive terror attack
- 17:45Speaker 3: carried out by Hamas. The position of the Biden State
- 17:49Speaker 3: Department on day two was they wanted to cease fire,
- 17:52Speaker 3: and by ceasefire they mean Israel. Do nothing, do not
- 17:55Speaker 3: attack Hamas. Again I blasted that is indefensible, and again
- 18:02Speaker 3: they deleted the tweet. Now, two days ago, President Biden gave,
- 18:08Speaker 3: after much delay, a serious speech on the issue, and
- 18:13Speaker 3: on the face of it, the speech seemed pretty solid.
- 18:17Speaker 3: He finally said unequivocally that America would support Israel period,
- 18:22Speaker 3: full stop, without the caveats that his administration had been
- 18:27Speaker 3: putting in day after day after day. But it's worth
- 18:32Speaker 3: noting that before and after the speech, the Biden administration
- 18:37Speaker 3: continues to undermine Israel. So the day before Biden's speech,
- 18:42Speaker 3: the Deputy National Security Advisor went on MSNBC and warned
- 18:46Speaker 3: the Israelis here's the quote, it is our advice that
- 18:50Speaker 3: this war be conducted based on principles of international law. Well, Ben,
- 18:56Speaker 3: what the heck does that mean? Has Israel ever not
- 18:59Speaker 3: fought its wars based on principles of international law? Why
- 19:02Speaker 3: is that something they're lecturing Israel on right now? And
- 19:07Speaker 3: then as the speech concluded, reporters started asking Biden's staff
- 19:13Speaker 3: to explain Now. Biden refused to take questions. He ran
- 19:16Speaker 3: out of the room, and Politico asked the National Security Council,
- 19:22Speaker 3: why is it they're talking about the need to follow
- 19:28Speaker 3: the rule of law? And to be clear, the State
- 19:32Speaker 3: Department also put out a statement and said, quote, we
- 19:36Speaker 3: also discussed how democracies like Israel and the United States
- 19:41Speaker 3: are stronger and more secure when we act according to
- 19:46Speaker 3: the rule of law. Again, what the hell are they
- 19:48Speaker 3: talking about? When is Israel not fought according to the
- 19:52Speaker 3: rule of law? So they're lecturing them, They're saying that
- 19:56Speaker 3: it has to be conducted based on the principles of
- 19:58Speaker 3: international law. That has to be in accordance with the
- 20:00Speaker 3: rule of law. That suggests the Biden White House doesn't
- 20:03Speaker 3: think Israel will do that. And here's what the National
- 20:06Speaker 3: Security Council said when asked, quote, we support Israel taking
- 20:12Speaker 3: necessary and proportionate action. Understand what they're saying. At every step.
- 20:20Speaker 3: It almost seems a daily basis, the Biden White House
- 20:24Speaker 3: is telling Israel do nothing, stand down. And if you
- 20:28Speaker 3: look at those two adjectives, necessary and proportionate action. Here's
- 20:34Speaker 3: what's coming next.
- 20:35Speaker 7: Ben.
- 20:36Speaker 3: We're going to hear the Biden administration. We're gonna hear
- 20:39Speaker 3: left wing Democrats that we're going to hear the media
- 20:41Speaker 3: blasting Israel, that their actions are not necessary and they're
- 20:46Speaker 3: not proportionate. That's gonna be what they're gonna say next,
- 20:49Speaker 3: and they're gonna say it especially because and listen, we
- 20:52Speaker 3: need to be ready. Tragically, there are going to be
- 20:57Speaker 3: a significant number of Palestinian civilian casualties. Now, that is
- 21:02Speaker 3: not the desire of the IDF, that is not the
- 21:06Speaker 3: objective of the Israeli military, and in fact, the Israeli
- 21:09Speaker 3: military goes to greater lengths to avoid civilian casualties than
- 21:14Speaker 3: any military on the face of the planet. But the
- 21:17Speaker 3: reason that we know there will be very significant Palestinian
- 21:21Speaker 3: civilian casualties is Hamas wants those Palestinians to die, and
- 21:26Speaker 3: they deliberately use Palestinians as human shields. They put Palestinian
- 21:31Speaker 3: women and children around their military targets, around their missiles,
- 21:34Speaker 3: around their terrorists, around their headquarters, and their intention is
- 21:39Speaker 3: for those Palestinian civilians to die. Because then the media
- 21:44Speaker 3: does what they can always be counted to do, which
- 21:47Speaker 3: is to use those images as an excuse to blast Israel.
- 21:52Speaker 3: And all of these quotes about international law and the
- 21:56Speaker 3: rule of law necessary and proportionate. This is all foreshadow
- 22:00Speaker 3: where the Biden administration and the press intend to go.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, great point there. Let me tell you about our

- 23:31Speaker 1: It's truly shocking to see the press because even the
- 23:34Speaker 1: press is still basically being apologist for Hamas and the Palestinians,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and that part is so frustrating. I also want you
- 23:45Speaker 1: to hear what John Kirby had to say, and I
- 23:47Speaker 1: want to get your reaction to this, as there were
- 23:49Speaker 1: many members of the media that we're trying to debunk
- 23:54Speaker 1: that babies were killed by hamas. New images have been
- 23:58Speaker 1: put out showing babies murdered by hamas, but American, actual
- 24:03Speaker 1: American journalists are trying to debunk this to imply, oh no,
- 24:06Speaker 1: it really didn't happen. Oh no, that's that's some sort
- 24:09Speaker 1: of you know, a line or propaganda. And John Kirby
- 24:14Speaker 1: was asked not just about that, but also he was
- 24:17Speaker 1: asked about the president and us not hearing about him
- 24:20Speaker 1: very much, hearing from him very much. Take a listen
- 24:22Speaker 1: to this from MSNBC.
- 24:25Speaker 6: Understood the last question. I don't know exactly, if for
- 24:28Speaker 6: how you'll answer it, but viewers may know you have
- 24:32Speaker 6: a back You have a military background. You also have
- 24:33Speaker 6: an extensive government communications background, and in the days that
- 24:36Speaker 6: had there's a communications aspect to all this where the president,
- 24:40Speaker 6: who has been quite forceful across the week, can sort
- 24:44Speaker 6: of pull back and go back to governing. You're busy
- 24:47Speaker 6: with trying to find out who the new speaker is
- 24:49Speaker 6: going to be and deal with a lot of other
- 24:50Speaker 6: priorities at home or sort of double down or extend
- 24:53Speaker 6: this with a communications approach. And so I'm curious, is
- 24:56Speaker 6: can you tell us anything about whether there'll be any
- 24:58Speaker 6: other formal address the nation for well, addressed to Congress,
- 25:01Speaker 6: evening addressed to the nation. As you know, in other
- 25:04Speaker 6: past terror attacks, including on allies, over time, there either
- 25:08Speaker 6: is a kind of an ebb where people say, oh, well,
- 25:11Speaker 6: that was last week's news and it's that country's problem
- 25:13Speaker 6: over there, and sometimes there's more of a priority of
- 25:15Speaker 6: summoning the US sustained attention. Again, I know you guys
- 25:19Speaker 6: aren't going to break any secret news tonight, so to speak,
- 25:22Speaker 6: but can you speak to any of that in the
- 25:23Speaker 6: days ahead and what's on the mind of the communicators
- 25:25Speaker 6: in the White House?
- 25:26Speaker 8: Sadly, we don't think this is going to end anytime
- 25:30Speaker 8: very soon, certainly incoming weeks for sure, if not longer.
- 25:35Speaker 8: So I think you can count on hearing from President
- 25:37Speaker 8: Biden in the future about this particular conflict and what
- 25:41Speaker 8: we're doing is support Israel. I have no doubt that
- 25:44Speaker 8: you'll continue to hear from him. But I also think
- 25:46Speaker 8: you're going to continue to hear from him on a
- 25:48Speaker 8: range of other issues that are important to governing in
- 25:52Speaker 8: other places around the world, such as Ukraine, such as
- 25:54Speaker 8: the Indo Pacific. I'm sure he'll continue to as he
- 25:57Speaker 8: did this week, talk about, you know, the economic.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Issues, the junk fees, So you're.
- 26:02Speaker 8: Gonna you're gonna continue to to hear him talk about
- 26:05Speaker 8: issues that also matter on a domestic scale as well.
- 26:07Speaker 8: That's what being president is, that's what being commander in
- 26:09Speaker 8: chief is. You've got to handle it all and he's
- 26:12Speaker 8: more than equipped and more than ready to do that at.
- 26:15Speaker 6: The White House. John Kirby, thanks for taking a break
- 26:17Speaker 6: from some.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Of your work to speak with I mean, that's the
- 26:20Speaker 1: biggest non answer I've ever heard. When this is going on,
- 26:23Speaker 1: Americans are being held hostage, like, well, you might hear
- 26:25Speaker 1: from him in the future and about future Hamas attacks
- 26:29Speaker 1: in the future, but you're not gonna hear from him
- 26:31Speaker 1: all the time on it. And there's gonna be other
- 26:33Speaker 1: things as well that are just as important. What I
- 26:35Speaker 1: guess that's global warming.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, Remember he mentioned junk fees, so
- 26:40Speaker 3: clearly they've got their priorities right. We've got the worst
- 26:43Speaker 3: attack in Israel in fifty years. We have a war
- 26:46Speaker 3: in the Middle East, and their concern is we need
- 26:50Speaker 3: to address junk fees right now that look, this is
- 26:54Speaker 3: not a serious administration, and their instincts they want Israel
- 27:00Speaker 3: to stand down. Prime Minister Netanyaho is committed to eliminating Hamas.
- 27:07Speaker 3: He's right in that the Israeli government, the Israeli military,
- 27:11Speaker 3: I believe they've convened a war cabinet, they are going
- 27:13Speaker 3: to do exactly that, and throughout that journey and it
- 27:17Speaker 3: is going to be in all likelihood months that it's
- 27:22Speaker 3: going to take, and it is going to be a
- 27:25Speaker 3: long and arduous and bloody ground battle with significant casualties
- 27:31Speaker 3: on both sides. This White House doesn't want to get
- 27:36Speaker 3: into that, doesn't want to talk about the need to
- 27:39Speaker 3: eliminate Hamas, doesn't want to talk about Iran in any respect.
- 27:44Speaker 3: If you look at Biden's speech, he didn't talk about Iran.
- 27:47Speaker 3: He didn't talk about Iran planning this attack. He didn't
- 27:50Speaker 3: talk about Iran funding this attack. He didn't talk about
- 27:53Speaker 3: Iran directing this attack. None of that did he address. Now,
- 27:58Speaker 3: we've talked at length on this post before about how
- 28:01Speaker 3: the Biden White House treats every issue, not as a
- 28:05Speaker 3: national security matter, but as a public relations matter, and
- 28:09Speaker 3: so as it concerns Iran, I think a lot of
- 28:11Speaker 3: Democrats felt a pr problem with the six billion dollars
- 28:17Speaker 3: that was recently paid as a ransom for five American
- 28:20Speaker 3: hostages released. And so we saw just yesterday the news
- 28:24Speaker 3: break that the Biden administration is going to freeze that
- 28:27Speaker 3: six billion dollars. Well, that's great. They never should have
- 28:29Speaker 3: offered it in the first place. But if they're freezing it,
- 28:32Speaker 3: that needs to happen. But that is about as easy
- 28:35Speaker 3: as possible in a bunch of Democrats, particularly vulnerable democrats
- 28:39Speaker 3: running in red states, who realized Holy Cow were actually
- 28:42Speaker 3: funding the terrorists who are committing this that's a problem.
- 28:45Speaker 3: So a lot of Democrats had come out against that
- 28:50Speaker 3: six billion in the last couple of days, and it
- 28:52Speaker 3: said freeze it now. Mind you, very few of these
- 28:55Speaker 3: Democrats had the courage to say don't send it when
- 28:58Speaker 3: Biden initially sent but suddenly they discovered it. But as
- 29:02Speaker 3: we've talked about at length, the six billions the tip
- 29:06Speaker 3: of the iceberg, and they need to not only freeze
- 29:09Speaker 3: the six billion, they need to stop the ten billion
- 29:11Speaker 3: that went several weeks earlier from Iraq to Iran. And
- 29:15Speaker 3: beyond that, the most important flow of funds is the
- 29:19Speaker 3: over forty billion in oil revenues, and they need to
- 29:22Speaker 3: immediately vigorously enforce the oil sanctions to shut down that revenue.
- 29:28Speaker 3: And you're not seeing Democrats talk about that. They think
- 29:32Speaker 3: that with the six billion, okay, we're done. That's our price.
- 29:35Speaker 3: We're taking the six billion, we're freezing that. So okay,
- 29:39Speaker 3: we're not vulnerable on Iran anymore. Look tomorrow, the Ayatola
- 29:46Speaker 3: should not sell two million barrels of oil, and the
- 29:51Speaker 3: Biden administration has the ability to make that happen. And
- 29:54Speaker 3: yet Democrats are not calling for it. And listen their instinct.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I want us to play it different clip And this
- 30:01Speaker 3: is a clip from a pro Israel rally where Democrats
- 30:05Speaker 3: Senator Ed Markey is speaking and and and he's speaking
- 30:08Speaker 3: and and and along with him on the stage is
- 30:11Speaker 3: Elizabeth Warren. So you have two very liberal Democrats and
- 30:14Speaker 3: and and take a listen to what Marky says, and
- 30:18Speaker 3: then take a listen to the crowd's reaction. There must
- 30:21Speaker 3: be a de escalation of the current violence the United States.
- 30:35Speaker 1: We his face. By the way, because I could see
- 30:45Speaker 1: the video. It was like he was in shock that
- 30:47Speaker 1: people would be booing. It was like, well, I wait, wait,
- 30:49Speaker 1: I thought you guys would warner.
- 30:50Speaker 2: You for that.
- 30:51Speaker 3: He was in shock and standing behind his left shoulders
- 30:55Speaker 3: Elizabeth Warren and she's in shock. They're both because look,
- 31:00Speaker 3: their instinct is Israel's the bad guy, and Israel needs
- 31:04Speaker 3: to stop. There needs to be no effort to defeat Hamas.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Because we're Democrats, we stand with the Palestinians. And that
- 31:15Speaker 3: exchange number one, it reveals the instincts of today's left
- 31:19Speaker 3: wing Democrat party. They are already denouncing Israel for retaliating.
- 31:27Speaker 3: They want de escalation, de escalation and cease fire. Understand
- 31:32Speaker 3: what that means every time a Democrat says it, it
- 31:34Speaker 3: means Israel do nothing, stop trying.
- 31:37Speaker 2: To destroy the terrorists.
- 31:38Speaker 3: And the look of shock from both Marky and Elizabeth
- 31:44Speaker 3: Warren in that clip, I think it's very revealing and
- 31:47Speaker 3: I think we're going to see a lot more exchanges
- 31:51Speaker 3: just like that.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Well, and then you have the other side, which is AOC.
- 31:56Speaker 1: She comes out and says that, by golly, the United
- 32:00Speaker 1: it's America has a responsibility to I guess intervene and
- 32:04Speaker 1: prevent the attacks on Hamas she claims, it's to prevent
- 32:09Speaker 1: a quote, ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Here's her Ere's what she said in her own words.
- 32:14Speaker 4: It's our responsibility is to the stability and the security
- 32:21Speaker 4: of the region.
- 32:22Speaker 7: That means being able to.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Support, not support, Yes, Israel and its defensive capacities.
- 32:31Speaker 7: Right, And it's ability in that context, But it also
- 32:36Speaker 7: means that the United States has a responsibility to ensure
- 32:40Speaker 7: accountability to human rights, to prevent the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians,
- 32:45Speaker 7: and to.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Ensure that horrors do not happen in the names of
- 32:50Speaker 4: victims who do not want their tragedy used to justify
- 32:55Speaker 4: further violence and injustice.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Right beautifully said, beautifully said, right beautifully said. So America's
- 33:03Speaker 1: job is after terrorists kill Americans, is for us to
- 33:06Speaker 1: make sure that none of the terrorists and the people
- 33:08Speaker 1: around them get killed.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Is that what I mean? That's what she's saying.
- 33:12Speaker 3: To intervene to defend the terrorists, that is what she
- 33:15Speaker 3: is calling on. And look, this is one of the
- 33:19Speaker 3: most powerful and influential democrats in the House of Representatives.
- 33:23Speaker 3: The other House democrats are terrified of AOC. She campaigns
- 33:27Speaker 3: for Democrats all over the country and they are all
- 33:31Speaker 3: scared to cross her. And understand what she's saying. She's
- 33:34Speaker 3: accusing Israel. She says, we don't want to see an
- 33:36Speaker 3: ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. She's accusing Israel of wanting to
- 33:43Speaker 3: carry out an ethnic cleansing. That that is an absolute slander.
- 33:48Speaker 3: It is a vicious lie. It is an anti Semitic trope.
- 33:51Speaker 3: It is something leftists do all the time, which is
- 33:54Speaker 3: they take the horror and evil that has been directed
- 33:57Speaker 3: at Jews, most dominantly in the Holocaust, and they then
- 34:03Speaker 3: say that's what Jews want to do to others. Israel
- 34:07Speaker 3: has never engaged in ethnic cleansing. Israel would not engage
- 34:11Speaker 3: in ethnic cleansing because they are a liberal democracy that
- 34:14Speaker 3: values human rights and they go to extraordinary lengths to
- 34:18Speaker 3: save human life. But Israel is also surrounded by terrorists
- 34:24Speaker 3: who want to kill them, and Israel is willing to
- 34:26Speaker 3: stand and fight to defend themselves. And understand, this is
- 34:30Speaker 3: not some fringe kook on the internet. This is one
- 34:35Speaker 3: of the most influential Democrats in the House of Representatives
- 34:39Speaker 3: accusing the state of Israel of wanting to engage in
- 34:44Speaker 3: ethnic cleansing and saying the US military needs to intervene
- 34:48Speaker 3: to stop Israel from carrying out a genocide. That is
- 34:55Speaker 3: a lie and a vicious lie, and it ignores the
- 35:00Speaker 3: actual atrocities and war crimes that these Hamas terrorists have
- 35:06Speaker 3: carried out over the past week.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I want to tell you about Patriot Mobile. For ten years,
- 35:10Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile has been America's only Christian conservative wireless provider.
- 35:14Speaker 1: And when I say only trust me, they're the only
- 35:17Speaker 1: one now. The team there have been great supporters, not
- 35:20Speaker 1: only of shows just like this one, but they are
- 35:23Speaker 1: proud to partner with conservative organizations to grow the conservative base.
- 35:29Speaker 1: When you switch to Patriot Mobile, you're sending a message
- 35:32Speaker 1: that you support free speech, religious freedom, the sanctity of life,
- 35:36Speaker 1: the Second Amendment, as well as our military, our veterans,
- 35:39Speaker 1: and our first responder heroes. They have one hundred percent
- 35:43Speaker 1: US based customer service team which makes switching easy. You
- 35:47Speaker 1: can keep your same cell phone number you have now,
- 35:49Speaker 1: you can keep your same phone or upgrade now when
- 35:52Speaker 1: you pay your bill, this is when the magic happens.
- 35:54Speaker 1: They take a percentage of your bill each and every
- 35:56Speaker 1: month and give it back to conservative causes that you
- 36:00Speaker 1: help choose to support in these categories that I just mentioned.
- 36:04Speaker 1: And you may not realize it, but many of the
- 36:07Speaker 1: big mobile companies actually give huge donations to Democrats as
- 36:11Speaker 1: well as the Plan Parenthood. So stop giving your mind
- 36:14Speaker 1: to woke corporations that are fighting against your values and
- 36:17Speaker 1: switch to Patriot Mobile. Use the promo code Verdict. You'll
- 36:22Speaker 1: get free activation and the best deals of the year.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Call them nine to seven to two Patriot that's nine
- 36:29Speaker 1: to seven to two Patriot or online at Patriot Mobile
- 36:33Speaker 1: dot com slash verdict that's Patriot Mobile dot com slash verdict.
- 36:40Speaker 2: It's going to be very.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Interesting to see what happens with this, especially American foreign
- 36:44Speaker 1: policy with the president that doesn't want to step up here,
- 36:47Speaker 1: We're going to keep you up done this. I also
- 36:49Speaker 1: want to get to some other news, and that is
- 36:52Speaker 1: Steve Scalies, who got the majority of the votes in
- 36:55Speaker 1: the conference to become the Speaker of the House. He
- 36:57Speaker 1: has now broke made big breaking news by saying this
- 37:02Speaker 1: about dropping out of the race.
- 37:04Speaker 9: I know we've been following this. It's been quite a
- 37:06Speaker 9: journey and there's still a long way to go. I
- 37:11Speaker 9: just share with my colleagues and I'm withdrawing my name
- 37:13Speaker 9: as a candidate for the speaker.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Does at need.
- 37:18Speaker 9: If you look at over the last few weeks, if
- 37:21Speaker 9: you look at where our conference is, there's still work
- 37:23Speaker 9: to be done. Our conference still has to come together,
- 37:28Speaker 9: and it is not there. There are still some people
- 37:31Speaker 9: that have their own agendas, and that was very clear.
- 37:34Speaker 9: We have to have everybody put their agendas on the
- 37:38Speaker 9: side and focus on what this country needs. This country
- 37:41Speaker 9: is counting on us to come back together. This House
- 37:45Speaker 9: of Representatives needs a speaker and we need to open
- 37:49Speaker 9: up the house again. But clearly not everybody is there
- 37:55Speaker 9: and there's still schisms that have to get resolved.
- 38:00Speaker 1: This is not that surprising to me sooner because it
- 38:04Speaker 1: was clear he wasn't going to have the votes, just
- 38:06Speaker 1: like with Kevin McCarthy, he didn't have the votes. That
- 38:10Speaker 1: means is this and now a pathway for Jim Jordan
- 38:13Speaker 1: to become the speaker? Because you also came out and
- 38:16Speaker 1: endorsed Jim Jordan, saying you believe he's the most physically conserved,
- 38:19Speaker 1: the best guy for this job.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Well, that's right, I did, and it's worth going back
- 38:25Speaker 3: and explaining why I did that, because we had talked
- 38:28Speaker 3: on the podcast previously that I intended to stay out
- 38:31Speaker 3: of the House leadership election, and that's what I've done
- 38:34Speaker 3: the eleven years I've been in the Senate. I've stayed
- 38:36Speaker 3: out of every House leadership election we ever had, and
- 38:39Speaker 3: my standard position has been that questions of House leadership
- 38:43Speaker 3: are for the House members to decide. And that's what
- 38:46Speaker 3: I had said on the podcast repeatedly. I'd set it
- 38:49Speaker 3: to reporters in Capitol Hill repeatedly. That was a position
- 38:53Speaker 3: I was very comfortable with. And then a couple of
- 38:58Speaker 3: days ago, Jim Jordan called me and he made a
- 39:02Speaker 3: very direct ass He asked for my support. Now, Jim
- 39:06Speaker 3: is a friend. He's a good friend. I know Jim
- 39:08Speaker 3: very well. Jim has been a guest on this podcast.
- 39:11Speaker 3: We had him on two consecutive episodes doing a deep
- 39:14Speaker 3: dive into the fantastic work that he's doing as focusing
- 39:19Speaker 3: on the weaponization of the Department of Justice and the
- 39:23Speaker 3: FBI and government. And Jim is someone I've worked with
- 39:27Speaker 3: the entire time I've been in the Senate. He is
- 39:29Speaker 3: a strong conservative, and he asked for my support. He
- 39:33Speaker 3: and he leaned in hard on it, and I thought
- 39:36Speaker 3: about it, and I thought carefully. And my general philosophy
- 39:40Speaker 3: on political endorsements and I make endorsements all over the
- 39:43Speaker 3: country in Senate races and House races, and gubernatorial races,
- 39:48Speaker 3: in school board races, all sorts of races, is that
- 39:52Speaker 3: I support the strongest conservative who can win. And both
- 39:59Speaker 3: of those are important. And I want to proven record
- 40:01Speaker 3: that you're a real conservative, and I want a path
- 40:03Speaker 3: to victory. I'm not interested untilty at Windmills. I'm not
- 40:06Speaker 3: interested in in in a candidate that does not have
- 40:09Speaker 3: a path to victory. And as I thought about it,
- 40:11Speaker 3: I came to the conclusion that Jim Jim was that person.
- 40:15Speaker 3: That he would be certainly the most conservative speaker we
- 40:20Speaker 3: had ever had, but that he had a real and
- 40:22Speaker 3: viable path to win, that he had real and meaningful support.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Now obviously his his chief rival, and the only two
- 40:29Speaker 3: declared candidates at the time for speaker were Jim Jordan
- 40:34Speaker 3: and Steve Scalise. And and Steve is a friend as well.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Steve and I are good friends. We spent a lot
- 40:39Speaker 3: of time together. I like Steve. Steve is a conservative
- 40:43Speaker 3: uh And and Steve look the the statement that you
- 40:49Speaker 3: just played. That was not an easy statement for Steve
- 40:51Speaker 3: to give, and I respect that that that he gave it.
- 40:54Speaker 3: I think it was heartfelt. Steve is obviously hurting, but
- 41:00Speaker 3: I think he's also trying to do the right thing.
- 41:02Speaker 3: And I'll tell you before I endorsed Jim Jordan, when
- 41:06Speaker 3: I hung up the phone with Jim, before I put
- 41:09Speaker 3: out the endorsement, I picked up the phone and I
- 41:11Speaker 3: called Steve. And the first thing I did is just
- 41:15Speaker 3: ask Steve how he was doing health wise. He's dealing
- 41:19Speaker 3: with a rare form of blood cancer and I've been
- 41:23Speaker 3: concerned and praying for him. And he told me he
- 41:26Speaker 3: is doing better and the treatment is proceeding very well.
- 41:29Speaker 3: But I gave him the heads up, just man to man,
- 41:32Speaker 3: as I said, listen, you're my friend, Steve. I'm going
- 41:35Speaker 3: to make this endorsement of Jim. He asked me to
- 41:38Speaker 3: do it, and Jim and I have been very close,
- 41:41Speaker 3: and I'm going to endorse him. But I told Steve
- 41:44Speaker 3: at the time, and I believe this. I said, listen,
- 41:45Speaker 3: I think you'd make a terrific speaker, and I think
- 41:47Speaker 3: Jim would make a terrific speaker. So do not take
- 41:51Speaker 3: this endorsement as a negative comment on you, but rather
- 41:57Speaker 3: just a statement of the I think Jim Jordan is
- 42:01Speaker 3: the strongest conservative as a path to win, and Steve
- 42:05Speaker 3: was very gracious about it, and we're friends, and I
- 42:07Speaker 3: certainly anticipate continuing to work with Steve in the years ahead. Now,
- 42:12Speaker 3: what happened this week is the House Republican Conference met
- 42:17Speaker 3: and they had a closed door meeting and they had
- 42:18Speaker 3: a vote, and Scalise won the vote by a vote
- 42:21Speaker 3: of one hundred and thirteen to ninety nine. So Jordan
- 42:24Speaker 3: got ninety nine votes, Scalise got one hundred and thirteen.
- 42:27Speaker 9: And.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Actually the press coverage was saying, well, that's it, Scalise
- 42:33Speaker 3: is the speaker. And what happened subsequently is there were
- 42:37Speaker 3: a number of House Republicans who did not vote for Scale,
- 42:44Speaker 3: who said over the hours and days that followed that
- 42:48Speaker 3: they were not going to vote for Scale, and they
- 42:50Speaker 3: dug in apparently, and it did not appear that Steve
- 42:55Speaker 3: had a path to two eighteen. And so I think
- 42:57Speaker 3: he's pulling out because he, at least at this point
- 43:00Speaker 3: doesn't see a path to eighteen. Does that mean Jim
- 43:04Speaker 3: Jordan is going to be the choice. I don't know.
- 43:07Speaker 3: With a House majority of just four votes, any five
- 43:11Speaker 3: Republicans can say no and veto anyone. And look, Jordan
- 43:16Speaker 3: got ninety nine votes in the conference. That tells you
- 43:19Speaker 3: there were over one hundred Republicans who didn't vote for him.
- 43:24Speaker 3: I hope Jim can earn the support of his colleagues
- 43:28Speaker 3: and unify. I will say, listen, it's a tough time.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I mean, one of the things that's playing out in
- 43:32Speaker 3: the House is there a lot of raw emotions. Are
- 43:36Speaker 3: people are angry.
- 43:39Speaker 2: You have the.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Individuals who voted last week to remove Kevin McCarthy as speaker.
- 43:46Speaker 3: I think those individuals have strong feelings, but I also
- 43:51Speaker 3: think McCarthy and his core allies are very, very angry.
- 43:57Speaker 3: And so look, any time you have people that are
- 44:00Speaker 3: emotional and angry, it's hard for them to come together.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 44:06Speaker 3: For folks worried that this chaos will last forever, I
- 44:09Speaker 3: don't think it will. I think we will have a speaker,
- 44:12Speaker 3: and I think we'll have a speaker relatively soon. I
- 44:15Speaker 3: don't know how long it will take. I still think
- 44:19Speaker 3: we'll have a speaker by the end of this week.
- 44:21Speaker 3: So by the end of Friday or Saturday, but I
- 44:24Speaker 3: don't know. It may bleed in in next week. And
- 44:27Speaker 3: it is possible if Scalee doesn't have the votes, and
- 44:30Speaker 3: if Jordan doesn't have the votes, that someone else will
- 44:34Speaker 3: emerge as a third option, that is some sort of
- 44:39Speaker 3: compromise candidate. And there are a couple of names that
- 44:45Speaker 3: are floating around, but it's not clear at this point
- 44:51Speaker 3: what will happen. But I will say to anyone concerned,
- 44:56Speaker 3: we will have a Speaker of the House. The Republicans
- 44:59Speaker 3: will come to get yeahther it just may take a
- 45:01Speaker 3: little more time and a little more opportunity for emotions
- 45:05Speaker 3: to cool.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think we can all agree it's something
- 45:11Speaker 1: that we want to get done sooner than later. But
- 45:13Speaker 1: you don't want to rush it too fast and just
- 45:15Speaker 1: put somebody in there and then have them be failed
- 45:18Speaker 1: right afterwards, just like we saw with Kevin McCarthy, where
- 45:20Speaker 1: it doesn't work.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Out long term. That's a huge problem.
