Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / More Anti-Americanism Coming From U.S. Olympic Team
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: I have been saying this over and over again that
- 0:05Speaker 1: if you hate America, and this is not a statement
- 0:09Speaker 1: that should be considered controversial, you should not represent the
- 0:14Speaker 1: United States of America and the Olympics. In fact, let
- 0:16Speaker 1: me say it a different way. If you hate America,
- 0:21Speaker 1: you shouldn't even compete in the Olympic Trials. If you
- 0:26Speaker 1: hate the country that you're going to represent and that
- 0:29Speaker 1: you represent during the Olympic Trials to get to the Olympics,
- 0:33Speaker 1: then represent that country and you actually hate this country,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you should not be on the Olympics. That should not
- 0:39Speaker 1: be a controversial statement. Let me take it a step further.
- 0:43Speaker 1: If you do, in fact make an Olympic team and
- 0:45Speaker 1: then you decide to take a shot at the United
- 0:51Speaker 1: States of America, I would argue any other Olympic athlete
- 0:55Speaker 1: in the world that does US in their country should
- 0:57Speaker 1: not be on the Olympic team either. You should be
- 0:59Speaker 1: kicked off the team. Why am I talking about this?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Another great example Gwendolen Barring wearing a shirt on her
- 1:07Speaker 1: head during the national anthem at the metal ceremony at
- 1:10Speaker 1: the US Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Olympian makes a USA team then spits on USA. She's
- 1:20Speaker 1: on the team, folks. Anyone out there is still offering
- 1:23Speaker 1: the benefit of the doubt to the entire social justice movement.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Is a sick scam. Needs look no further than the
- 1:31Speaker 1: pollutant stunt Gwen Berry pulled Saturday at the US Olympic
- 1:36Speaker 1: Track and Field Trials. There stood Berry, a black woman,
- 1:39Speaker 1: reaching for the second time the stratsphere of an American
- 1:44Speaker 1: athletic achievement, and yet still lecturing about systemic racism. Quote.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I feel like it was a setup and they did
- 1:52Speaker 1: it on purpose, she said, of the producers playing her
- 1:54Speaker 1: national anthem during the award metal ceremony. That's right, playing
- 1:57Speaker 1: the national anthem during a team USA event. The shock,
- 2:02Speaker 1: she said, and I'm quoting. I was pissed, to be honest,
- 2:05Speaker 1: she added. Barry, who placed third in the hammer throw,
- 2:08Speaker 1: turned away from the American flag during the song and
- 2:11Speaker 1: placed her hand on her hip while making faces. I'm
- 2:17Speaker 1: here to represent those who died due to systemic racism,
- 2:21Speaker 1: she said later. That's the important part. That's why I'm going,
- 2:26Speaker 1: That's why I'm here today. Actually, she was there because
- 2:29Speaker 1: she was given the opportunity to prove her metal and
- 2:34Speaker 1: represent her nation, a nation that she clearly deeply hates.
- 2:44Speaker 1: What's even more ironic about this argument is the fact
- 2:46Speaker 1: that she says this is about systemic racism. If systemic
- 2:50Speaker 1: racism were actually the problem, then Barry and what she
- 2:55Speaker 1: professed it to be, she would very much not be
- 3:00Speaker 1: in the Olympic Trials or on the podium. If we
- 3:03Speaker 1: have a system of systemic racism. Gwendolin Barry turning away
- 3:08Speaker 1: from the American flag. I want you to think about
- 3:11Speaker 1: this turning away from the American flag as a national
- 3:14Speaker 1: anthem played at the metal ceremony at the US Track
- 3:17Speaker 1: and Field Trials, and Eugene Oregon is going to represent
- 3:20Speaker 1: the United States of America. I want you to think
- 3:23Speaker 1: about that. This is always a case when the social
- 3:27Speaker 1: justice left, the national media, democrats in Washington, celebrities, including
- 3:32Speaker 1: celebrity athletes, they all support this crap. And it's true,
- 3:37Speaker 1: whether they're wide or black, they can done the US
- 3:40Speaker 1: as a sesspool of bigotry and racism, even as their
- 3:43Speaker 1: very own careers and lives see incredible fame and fortune.
- 3:48Speaker 1: New York Times columnists, He's a racist. Charles Blow, who
- 3:50Speaker 1: is black, wrote in early June about the racism he's
- 3:55Speaker 1: supposedly experienced from white gaze because he's bisexual. This is
- 3:59Speaker 1: not a joke. I had to work with his cat scene,
- 4:01Speaker 1: and he is literally one of the most hateful people
- 4:04Speaker 1: I've ever met towards white people. He absolutely is a
- 4:07Speaker 1: racist towards white people. And yet for all of the
- 4:11Speaker 1: oppression Charles Blow claims to have endured, he is apparently
- 4:16Speaker 1: doing okay. In fact, he's thriving. I was even asked
- 4:21Speaker 1: recently in an interview why I wasn't more gay or
- 4:23Speaker 1: something to that effect, because people who followed me would
- 4:27Speaker 1: most likely not know that I was part of the
- 4:30Speaker 1: queer community, he wrote. I reminded my interviewer that I
- 4:33Speaker 1: had written a best selling book about my identity, and
- 4:35Speaker 1: that the book had been developed into an opera that
- 4:38Speaker 1: will become the first opera by a black composer to
- 4:42Speaker 1: be stage at New York's Metropole Opera in its history.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Get excited. No, that's not parody. Those sins has actually
- 4:49Speaker 1: appeared in print in the country's most influential news publication,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and they were written by a black, non heterosexual man
- 4:56Speaker 1: who still wants the world to see him as a victim.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's how social justice works. It's advocates and says they
- 5:03Speaker 1: are oppressed, always on the count of the race, gender,
- 5:06Speaker 1: or sexual identity, and then they reap the rewards that
- 5:08Speaker 1: come with claiming such fake grievances. Let's go back to
- 5:14Speaker 1: Gwendolin Barry competing in the women's hammer throw event. Barry
- 5:18Speaker 1: will go to Tokyo to represent the United States of America.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We will pay for her to go to Tokyo. The
- 5:23Speaker 1: United States Olympic team will pay for her to go
- 5:26Speaker 1: to the Olympics to represent the United States America. She
- 5:29Speaker 1: will have a chance to win a gold medal, and
- 5:31Speaker 1: if that happens, they'll play the national anthem again and
- 5:33Speaker 1: Barry will likely disrespect it again. Why are we not
- 5:37Speaker 1: kicking her off the team. I don't give a crap
- 5:39Speaker 1: that she's black. I don't care if you're white, black,
- 5:42Speaker 1: or anything else in between. Why the hell would we
- 5:45Speaker 1: allow you the honor of representing the United States of
- 5:48Speaker 1: America when you were ashamed of the United States of
- 5:51Speaker 1: America at the Olympics. Why didn't she compete for another country.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Their plenty of nations that take freelance Olympians for a
- 5:58Speaker 1: chance at glory for their country. Happens all the time.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You can defect because she doesn't want to. She wants
- 6:04Speaker 1: to take all the opportunities in the United States gives
- 6:06Speaker 1: her and pretend like it happens in spite of not
- 6:09Speaker 1: because of where she was born. Why Because it's all
- 6:12Speaker 1: about her. This is what we've become in this country.
- 6:16Speaker 1: It's all a con by the way, and Barry is
- 6:18Speaker 1: just the latest example of this con. A woman who
- 6:23Speaker 1: hates America turns away from the American flag as a
- 6:26Speaker 1: national anthem is played and says it basically triggers her.
- 6:30Speaker 1: She felt like it was a setup and they did
- 6:31Speaker 1: it on purpose, she said of the producers playing her
- 6:34Speaker 1: national anthem during the awards ceremony in the United States
- 6:36Speaker 1: of America, playing the national anthem during a Team USA event,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and she's shocked, she said, quote I was pissed, to
- 6:44Speaker 1: be honest her words. So you get on stage, you
- 6:48Speaker 1: get a bronze medal, you turn away from the flag,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you throw a Black Lives Matter type shirt on your head,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and you tell people that you're angry they play the
- 6:56Speaker 1: national anthem. That was a setup. Yeah, Oh that's not all.
- 7:00Speaker 1: That's gotten all woke during the Olympics. Do you see
- 7:03Speaker 1: what former basketball star Jalen Rose had to say. He's
- 7:08Speaker 1: angry he's been smearing the one white NBA player, Kevin
- 7:13Speaker 1: Love who made the Olympic team. Quote as a token
- 7:16Speaker 1: member of the US Olympic basketball team is just another
- 7:19Speaker 1: example of why people are canceling out sports. ESPN athlete
- 7:25Speaker 1: turned broadcaster decides to be angry that the Olympic team
- 7:29Speaker 1: isn't all black. Yeah, isn't all black. He says that
- 7:37Speaker 1: they should have put another black man on the team. Yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: he wants to be edgy and militant. Earlier this week,
- 7:46Speaker 1: USA Basketball announced that Love, a veteran power forward for
- 7:49Speaker 1: the Cleveland Cavaliers, would be added the twelve man Olympic roster.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Why because they thought it was a good idea to
- 7:56Speaker 1: have a guy that was a little bit older on
- 7:58Speaker 1: there who could mentor and play some good ball. Love
- 8:02Speaker 1: played in twenty five games this season. The average in
- 8:05Speaker 1: those twenty five games twelve point two point seven point
- 8:08Speaker 1: four rebounds and two point five assists. That is damn good.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's really good. So, following the announcement that Kevin Love
- 8:19Speaker 1: would join a twelve man roster for the summer Olympics
- 8:23Speaker 1: in Tokyo. Jalen Rose on ESPN said the Cavaliers veteran
- 8:28Speaker 1: doesn't deserve a spot on team USA quote Kevin Love
- 8:32Speaker 1: is on the team because of tokenism. The former NBA star,
- 8:35Speaker 1: who has the Renaissance Man column and podcast hosts for
- 8:40Speaker 1: The Post, the New York Posts as well, said on
- 8:43Speaker 1: his Jalen and Jacobi or whatever the hell podcast Thursday,
- 8:48Speaker 1: don't be scared to make an all black team representing
- 8:52Speaker 1: the United States of America. I'm disappointed that by that,
- 8:55Speaker 1: Rose said. Rose backed his comments by pointing out Love's
- 8:59Speaker 1: lack season in Cleveland, saying, quote, anybody that watched the
- 9:03Speaker 1: league this year knows Love Kevin Love did not have
- 9:06Speaker 1: his steller season, was not the best player on the team,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and did not necessarily deserve to be on the squad.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So he says, hey, spy being excited for the Olympics,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I am disappointed that team you say had a token
- 9:19Speaker 1: selection of Kevin Love. Now, imagine if somebody would have
- 9:23Speaker 1: said that about a minority player. Imagine if there would
- 9:26Speaker 1: have been a team with a bunch of white people
- 9:28Speaker 1: on it, right, and then they said, oh, they could
- 9:31Speaker 1: have just sent an all white team. Why why they
- 9:33Speaker 1: put that Mexican on there, that black person on there,
- 9:36Speaker 1: that Asian on there? Right, can you imagine that backlash?
- 9:39Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, it would have been out of control. Now,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I want you to hear this conversation in its entirety,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and I want you to think about how messed up
- 9:50Speaker 1: in the head you have to be. And I'm talking
- 9:51Speaker 1: about just pure racist towards white people. After you're angry
- 9:56Speaker 1: that one white guy who averaged twelve point two points,
- 10:03Speaker 1: that average, twelve point two point seven point four rebounds,
- 10:07Speaker 1: and two point five assists per game, playing just twenty
- 10:12Speaker 1: five games because he had been dealing with some injuries.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Not a bad not a bad numbers pretty good. Oh no,
- 10:19Speaker 1: we can't have we can't have a white guy on
- 10:21Speaker 1: this team. We should have send all black team. That
- 10:23Speaker 1: would have been better. So he's angry at the white guy,
- 10:27Speaker 1: excited about the roster, and I assume and I know
- 10:33Speaker 1: we're gonna win the goal, but I'm disappointed in something.
- 10:37Speaker 1: As I do this show every day, I do it
- 10:39Speaker 1: in front of a picture of Tommy Smith and John
- 10:42Speaker 1: Carlos raising their fists at the Olympics. I also know
- 10:47Speaker 1: the favoritism that Christian Latner was shown when he got
- 10:51Speaker 1: a chance to be put on the Dream Team ahead
- 10:54Speaker 1: of Shot and Alonso. But they made it so that
- 10:57Speaker 1: a college player can even get on and get a
- 11:00Speaker 1: fam favoritism. But this level of and I got a
- 11:04Speaker 1: word for it, Kevin Love is on the team because
- 11:07Speaker 1: of tokenism. Don't be scared to make an all black
- 11:11Speaker 1: team representing the United States of America. I'm disappointed by that.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Anybody that watched the league this year knows Kevin Love
- 11:20Speaker 1: did not have a stellar season, was not the best
- 11:23Speaker 1: player on his team. It did not necessarily deserve to
- 11:26Speaker 1: be on this squad. And I'm not gonna take him
- 11:28Speaker 1: off the squad and not put somebody else on it.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you whose spot that should be. That
- 11:34Speaker 1: should be a young man that was born in the Bahamas,
- 11:37Speaker 1: that as a McDonald's All American, played in high school
- 11:41Speaker 1: and college in Phoenix, Arizona. DeAndre Ayton should have Kevin
- 11:46Speaker 1: Love spot because Kevin loves white and Kevin Love didn't
- 11:51Speaker 1: deserve it. At one point its future in Cleveland, where
- 11:55Speaker 1: he won a championship. By the way, with Lebron James
- 11:57Speaker 1: twenty sixteen was in question the regular season. Will have
- 12:00Speaker 1: apparently visibly frustrated with a team and its young core.
- 12:04Speaker 1: The thirty two year old just finished the second year
- 12:06Speaker 1: of a four year, one hundred and twenty million dollar
- 12:08Speaker 1: contract extension with the Calves here in the midst of
- 12:11Speaker 1: a major rebuild. This is a guy that gave they
- 12:13Speaker 1: If you think he sucks, you're not paying attention. He
- 12:17Speaker 1: got a four year, one hundred and twenty million dollars contract.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But we should have just sent an all white team. Yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you whose spot that should have been.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Should have been a All American played in high school,
- 12:34Speaker 1: in college in Phoenix. Should have had Kevin Love's white spot.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And I'm disappointing team say for not having the courage
- 12:41Speaker 1: to send an all black team to the Olympics, because
- 12:43Speaker 1: everything's gonna be about racism now. Aton, by the way,
- 12:48Speaker 1: he turns twenty four in July, has no Olympic experience,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but has had an incredible season in Phoenix, so therefore
- 12:56Speaker 1: he says he should have been on the team. Love,
- 12:59Speaker 1: on the other hand, has championship and Olympic experience. Just
- 13:02Speaker 1: so you know, he helped Team USA win the Golden
- 13:04Speaker 1: twenty twelve Summer Olympics in London. Love was not part
- 13:10Speaker 1: of the Team USA roster and rio during the two
- 13:13Speaker 1: sixteen Olympic Games. All by the way of whom we're
- 13:16Speaker 1: black then, so when he says they were trying to
- 13:19Speaker 1: make history, they should have not been afraid to send
- 13:21Speaker 1: an all black team. We did it in two thousand
- 13:23Speaker 1: and sixteen. So he didn't even have his facts rights.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But you know what, when you're throwing down the race card,
- 13:30Speaker 1: apparently you don't really need to have your facts. Team
- 13:33Speaker 1: USA is not afraid of sending an all black team.
- 13:35Speaker 1: We literally did it in two thousand and sixteen. The
- 13:40Speaker 1: reason why Kevin Love is on this team is because
- 13:42Speaker 1: there's a coach of Team USA in an organization that
- 13:46Speaker 1: realized it's probably not a bad idea to have a
- 13:49Speaker 1: thirty two year old who's won a NBA championship and
- 13:54Speaker 1: has been at an Olympic Games and has won a
- 13:58Speaker 1: gold medal at those Olympic Games to be on the
- 14:01Speaker 1: team to maybe shepherd and mentor some of the guys
- 14:03Speaker 1: through the Olympics and the Olympic experience. That's why, oh no,
- 14:09Speaker 1: but we shouldn't be ashamed to send an all black team.
- 14:12Speaker 1: We already did it twenty sixteen, twenty and sixteen would happened,
- 14:15Speaker 1: by the way, no one gave a crap because they
- 14:17Speaker 1: thought it was the best team. No one was complaining
- 14:20Speaker 1: about no white people on the team. Did you see
- 14:22Speaker 1: any guys out there yelling about how dare them not
- 14:24Speaker 1: send a white guy too? And we shouldn't be afraid
- 14:27Speaker 1: of having it, or we should have had a diverse team.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Did you see any of that? Of course not right, No,
- 14:32Speaker 1: we wouldn't have any that that'd be too easy. That'd
- 14:37Speaker 1: be way too easy, way, way, way, way too easy.
- 14:44Speaker 1: In twenty sixteen, we won the gold medal. I don't
- 14:46Speaker 1: remember anyone. I don't remember a single person. I want
- 14:53Speaker 1: to make that very very very clear. I don't remember
- 14:56Speaker 1: a single human being coming out and saying anything about
- 14:59Speaker 1: the makeup of the team being all black, because it
- 15:03Speaker 1: didn't matter, because you had the good team, and you
- 15:05Speaker 1: sent the team and they won a gold medal and
- 15:08Speaker 1: everybody was happy. Kevin Love clearly brings experience to this
- 15:15Speaker 1: twelve man roster. Clevin Love when he is playing, clearly
- 15:19Speaker 1: can put up points. This year, Yes, he was frustrated
- 15:23Speaker 1: with his team. It's a rebuilding year. But when he
- 15:26Speaker 1: was on the court, he was pretty darn good. But remember,
- 15:30Speaker 1: we gotta be woke now, folks, we gotta be woke
- 15:32Speaker 1: at all costs. It's all about woke. Let me give
- 15:37Speaker 1: you the headline. And again, I want to go back
- 15:40Speaker 1: to this other story for a second. About this hammer thrower,
- 15:43Speaker 1: Gwen Berry. She turns away from the flag, the American flag,
- 15:48Speaker 1: while the the national anthem is being played at the
- 15:51Speaker 1: Olympic Trials for the US Olympic team. She not only
- 15:55Speaker 1: makes the team, but she then comes out and is
- 15:57Speaker 1: angry they played the national anthem, which they do every
- 15:59Speaker 1: single time, and they have an award ceremony. She knows
- 16:02Speaker 1: that she's an idiot. Maybe she is, and she said quote,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I felt like it was a setup for the past week.
- 16:10Speaker 1: It's coming from ESPN. The national anthem has played one
- 16:13Speaker 1: time per evening at the Ustlympic Trial Track and Field
- 16:16Speaker 1: Trials on Saturday. The song happened to start while outspoken
- 16:20Speaker 1: activist Quinn Berry was standing on the podium after receiving
- 16:23Speaker 1: her bronze medal in the hammer throw. While the music played,
- 16:27Speaker 1: Barry placed her left hand on her hip and fidgeted.
- 16:33Speaker 1: She took a quarter turn so she was facing the
- 16:35Speaker 1: stands not the flag. Toward the end, she plucked up
- 16:40Speaker 1: her black T shirt with the words activist athlete on
- 16:44Speaker 1: the front and draped it over her head. Quote. I
- 16:48Speaker 1: felt like it was a set up and they did
- 16:49Speaker 1: it on purpose, Barry, stead of the timing of the anthem,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I was her words, pissed to be honest, Barry's reaction
- 16:56Speaker 1: to the star spangled banner was a notable is as
- 17:00Speaker 1: notable as anything on the track. On a blazing hot Saturday,
- 17:04Speaker 1: the second to last day of the years Olympic Trials,
- 17:06Speaker 1: with temperatures reaching a hundred one degrees on the field
- 17:10Speaker 1: the end of Price won the event with a throw
- 17:13Speaker 1: of two hundred and sixty three ft six inches, which
- 17:17Speaker 1: was nearly seven feet longer than Barry's throw, who came
- 17:20Speaker 1: in third. Price broke the meat record on four or
- 17:25Speaker 1: six throws, and the last two of those throws also
- 17:29Speaker 1: broke the American record. Pretty amazing. So these women who
- 17:35Speaker 1: are beating this woman had their moment taken away from
- 17:41Speaker 1: them because everyone's talking about the third place chick grabbing
- 17:48Speaker 1: that third spot by a scant two inches over Janee
- 17:54Speaker 1: Cavas void two inches. Berry, headed heading to her second Olympics,
- 18:02Speaker 1: has promised to use her position took you to keep
- 18:04Speaker 1: raising awareness, she says about social injustice in her home country.
- 18:08Speaker 1: She's ashamed of America. She hates it. Quote. My purpose
- 18:12Speaker 1: and my mission is bigger than sports. I'm here to
- 18:14Speaker 1: represent those who die due to systemic racism. That's the
- 18:18Speaker 1: important part. That's why I'm going. That's why I'm here today.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Barry found it to be no matter of coincident that
- 18:25Speaker 1: she was front and center during the anthem. Unlike the Olympics,
- 18:28Speaker 1: anthems aren't played to a company metal ceremonies at the Trials,
- 18:31Speaker 1: but the hammer throwers received their awards just before the
- 18:34Speaker 1: start of the evening session, which has been kicking off
- 18:38Speaker 1: all week with a videotapeer rendition of the Star Spangled banner.
- 18:43Speaker 1: The US Track and Field spokesperson spokeswoman Susan Hazzard said
- 18:47Speaker 1: the national anthem was getting to play at five to
- 18:49Speaker 1: twenty pm today. We didn't wait until the athletes were
- 18:51Speaker 1: on the podium for the hammer throw awards, and nason
- 18:55Speaker 1: anthem is played every day, according to a previously published
- 18:59Speaker 1: schedule on Saturday of The music started at five twenty five,
- 19:02Speaker 1: and so while Pryce Sayerson stood on the podium with
- 19:05Speaker 1: her hands over their hearts and stared straight ahead at
- 19:09Speaker 1: the American Oregon flags, Barry fidgeted and paste on the
- 19:12Speaker 1: third step. Then she turned away and finally grabbed her
- 19:15Speaker 1: T shirt. They said they were going to play it
- 19:18Speaker 1: before we walked out, then they played it when we
- 19:20Speaker 1: were out there. Barry said, but I don't really want
- 19:23Speaker 1: to talk about the anthem, because that's something important. The
- 19:25Speaker 1: anthem didn't speak for me, it never has. This woman
- 19:28Speaker 1: literally hates the United States of America. She hates our
- 19:31Speaker 1: national anthem, she hates our flags, she hates our country.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Why the hell are we sending her to represent the
- 19:37Speaker 1: United States of America. If you don't have pride in America,
- 19:40Speaker 1: you shouldn't be in the Olympics. Tell me I'm wrong.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Her gestures drew virtually no reaction from this still standing,
- 19:50Speaker 1: still filling stands, and they were something far less than
- 19:55Speaker 1: two summers ago, when Barry raised her fists on the
- 19:57Speaker 1: podium after winning the Panama Games. That demonstration led to
- 20:01Speaker 1: a sanction, but ultimately pushed the US Olympic and Paralympic
- 20:04Speaker 1: Committee to commit to not punishing athletes who raise fists
- 20:07Speaker 1: or kneel at the trials or in Tokyo. It's a
- 20:10Speaker 1: potential flashpoint for Tokyo, where the IOC has said it
- 20:13Speaker 1: will enforce its Rule fifty that bands demonstrations inside the lines.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's the same prohibition that got sprinter Tommy Smith and
- 20:22Speaker 1: John Carlos sent home from the Mexico City Games in
- 20:25Speaker 1: nineteen sixty eight. Price, who became only the second woman
- 20:29Speaker 1: in history to crack eighty meters and figures, would be
- 20:32Speaker 1: going for gold along with the world wrecker Holders had
- 20:36Speaker 1: no problem sharing the stage with Barry. I think people
- 20:38Speaker 1: should say whatever they want to say. I'm proud of her,
- 20:40Speaker 1: Price said Barry said she needs to get my body right,
- 20:45Speaker 1: my mind right, and my spirit right for the Olympics.
- 20:48Speaker 1: The women's hammer thrower starts August the first, but Barry
- 20:51Speaker 1: doesn't think she needs to be on a podium and
- 20:53Speaker 1: Tookyo to have the biggest impact, saying, quote, I don't
- 20:56Speaker 1: need to do anything sports wise. What I need to
- 20:59Speaker 1: do is speak for my community, to represent my community
- 21:02Speaker 1: and help my community, because that's more important than sports.
- 21:07Speaker 1: That's fine than quit sports, go be an activist. But
- 21:11Speaker 1: if you hate America and you want to criticize America
- 21:15Speaker 1: and we're the ones paying for you to go represent US,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I'm sorry, that's a bad investment. I would argue that
- 21:23Speaker 1: she should absolutely be kicked off the team. If you
- 21:26Speaker 1: don't stand for the national anthem, then get off the
- 21:28Speaker 1: stage and get off my team, and take USA off
- 21:32Speaker 1: your uniform. If you're not proud of America, I think
- 21:36Speaker 1: that should automatically just qualify you from being in the
- 21:40Speaker 1: Olympic Games. Send somebody who is proud of the United
- 21:45Speaker 1: States America. I would rather send someone that is actually
- 21:49Speaker 1: running or throwing or competing for America that comes in
- 21:55Speaker 1: fiftieth place, then have someone win a medal who hates America.
- 22:00Speaker 1: As long as you give it, you're all. That's all
- 22:01Speaker 1: I can ask for. And if you go and you
- 22:04Speaker 1: represent the United States of America, it should not be
- 22:08Speaker 1: controversial if you turn your back on someone to say
- 22:14Speaker 1: we're done, you can go home. We are not going
- 22:19Speaker 1: to pay for you to go and represent the United
- 22:21Speaker 1: States of America. That we will not do. But this
- 22:26Speaker 1: is the Olympics. Now, we're ashamed of the white guy
- 22:30Speaker 1: who we say, as a token who absolutely deserves to
- 22:33Speaker 1: be on the Olympic team. The woke people are angry
- 22:37Speaker 1: that we didn't send it all black team. Right, all
- 22:42Speaker 1: black team. We did it by the way before. But
- 22:45Speaker 1: they'll lie to you and say, oh, we've never sent
- 22:48Speaker 1: an all black team. No, we have. We have sent
- 22:51Speaker 1: an all black team to the Olympics. You send a
- 22:54Speaker 1: guy that has a lot of experience and people say, oh,
- 22:57Speaker 1: you can't do that. Now, you should send it all
- 23:00Speaker 1: act team. Because that's what real woke ism is. That's
- 23:03Speaker 1: what really being woke is.
