- 0:22Speaker 2: Ben Ferguson with you, and we've got three big stories
- 0:24Speaker 2: for you on this inauguration day. First up, Donald Trump
- 0:28Speaker 2: speaks hours before the inauguration begins and my own mind,
- 0:32Speaker 2: does he have a plan for America? Plus executive orders?
- 0:35Speaker 2: What can you expect today? Also January sixth, pardons, it's
- 0:41Speaker 2: been a big question, will Donald Trump act. I'll explain
- 0:44Speaker 2: that and why it's a big yes in a moment.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And finally Joe Biden goes on a pardon frenzy as
- 0:51Speaker 2: he's walking out of the White House. It is the
- 0:55Speaker 2: forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson, and it starts
- 0:58Speaker 2: right now. Story number President Elect Donald Trump on Sunday
- 1:03Speaker 2: night had a big rally and it was a day
- 1:07Speaker 2: to promise America's swift action, saying as soon as I
- 1:11Speaker 2: am sworn in, we are going to remake the federal government.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We are going to shift federal priorities at at breakneck
- 1:17Speaker 2: speed and ensure that the quote curtain closes on four
- 1:23Speaker 2: long years of American decline. Here is part of what
- 1:27Speaker 2: Donald Trump said in his own words, Thank you.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Very much, everybody. Why that good fairy? We're like winning,
- 1:35Speaker 1: don't we end. We're going to make our country greater
- 1:41Speaker 1: than ever before. Hello Washington, and Hello America. We're all
- 1:46Speaker 1: over America. I'm thrilled to be back with so many friends,
- 1:53Speaker 1: supporters and true American patriots. Or the eve of taking
- 1:56Speaker 1: back our country. That's what we're going to do. Take
- 1:59Speaker 1: it back our country. Tomorrow at noon, the curtain closes
- 2:07Speaker 1: on four long years of American decline, and we begin
- 2:11Speaker 1: a brand new day of American strength and prosperity, dignity
- 2:17Speaker 1: and pride, bringing it all back once and for all.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We're going to end the reign of a failed and
- 2:27Speaker 1: corrupt political establishment in Washington, a failed administration. We're not
- 2:34Speaker 1: going to take it anymore. We're going to stop the
- 2:41Speaker 1: invasion of our borders. We're going to reclaim our wealth.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We're going to unlock the liquid goal that's right under
- 2:49Speaker 1: our fate, liquid goal. We're going to bring back law
- 2:57Speaker 1: and order to our cities. We're going to restore patriotism
- 3:03Speaker 1: to our schools, get radical left woop ideologies the hell
- 3:09Speaker 1: out of our military and.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Out of our government, and we are going.
- 3:16Speaker 1: To make America great again. Now.
- 3:21Speaker 2: My White House sources are telling me that Donald Trump
- 3:25Speaker 2: is set to sign up to two hundred executive orders
- 3:30Speaker 2: on his first day in office. What is going to
- 3:34Speaker 2: be in that list? Number one, declare a national emergency
- 3:37Speaker 2: at the border and then close the border. Donald Trump
- 3:41Speaker 2: is also set to designate cartels as foreign terrorist organizations,
- 3:47Speaker 2: just like Al Qaeda and ISIS. We also are being
- 3:51Speaker 2: told that Trump will reinstate the remain in Mexico priority
- 3:56Speaker 2: and in the catch and release that has been going
- 3:59Speaker 2: on for the last four years under Joe Biden and
- 4:02Speaker 2: Kamala Harris. We also are being told that through executive
- 4:07Speaker 2: action that Donald Trump will direct the military to build
- 4:11Speaker 2: new sections of the border wall. He will also tell
- 4:16Speaker 2: Americans that the border wall is one of his top
- 4:19Speaker 2: priorities to finish what he started four plus years ago.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And he will terminate Joe Biden's energy drilling restrictions, something
- 4:31Speaker 2: that has been a focal point over the last several days.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And a promise that you just heard Donald Trump talk
- 4:37Speaker 2: about to his supporters at that rally. We also, through
- 4:41Speaker 2: executive action, will have this requiring federal workers to return
- 4:46Speaker 2: to in person work. This after reports said that more
- 4:50Speaker 2: than seventy percent of office buildings that are owned by
- 4:54Speaker 2: the federal government are empty, and there are hundreds and
- 4:59Speaker 2: hundreds of thousands of federal workers who never go into
- 5:03Speaker 2: an office. That will end with Donald Trump's executive action.
- 5:08Speaker 2: When it comes to energy, He's not done. He is
- 5:11Speaker 2: also going to through executive action, pause all offshore wind leases.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yes I didn't say drilling, no, no, no. Donald Trump
- 5:21Speaker 2: is going to pause all offshore win leases and get
- 5:24Speaker 2: back to what America does.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Drill, baby drill.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And you know the thing that happened in California, that
- 5:30Speaker 2: ruin California, you know DEI. Well, it's also been going
- 5:35Speaker 2: on at the White House, and it's been going on
- 5:37Speaker 2: at the Pentagon. It's been going on in virtually every
- 5:41Speaker 2: branch of our government. Through executive action. I'm being told
- 5:45Speaker 2: that Donald Trump will end DEI diversity, equity and inclusion
- 5:49Speaker 2: hiring practices in the entire federal government. And what is
- 5:54Speaker 2: going to take its place. The President will make it
- 5:57Speaker 2: clear you were to hire based on merit, not based
- 6:02Speaker 2: on someone's sexuality or the color of their skin, or
- 6:06Speaker 2: to fit a quota that you think is quote fair
- 6:10Speaker 2: or equitable. That is going to have a massive impact
- 6:14Speaker 2: on the hiring in our federal government. We also are
- 6:17Speaker 2: being told that Donald Trump is going to withdraw from
- 6:20Speaker 2: the Paris Climate Accord and mandate agencies in our government
- 6:26Speaker 2: to remove quote regulations that increase the costs for Americans,
- 6:31Speaker 2: which will have a huge impact on businesses and small
- 6:35Speaker 2: businesses that are owned by Americans. And finally, he is
- 6:40Speaker 2: going to suspend security clearances, we're being told, and this
- 6:44Speaker 2: is a big one for the fifty one officials who
- 6:48Speaker 2: lied about the Hunter Biden laptop story. You may remember
- 6:52Speaker 2: that all of those fifty one officials got together knowing
- 6:56Speaker 2: they were lying to the American people, and said they
- 6:58Speaker 2: believe that the Hunter by that laptop story was well
- 7:02Speaker 2: nothing more than Russian disinformation and at all the markings
- 7:06Speaker 2: of Russia being involved. They all knew they were lying
- 7:09Speaker 2: to the American people, and they were using their level
- 7:13Speaker 2: of security clearance and their former jobs to convince Americans
- 7:17Speaker 2: that there was no way that the Hunter Byen laptop
- 7:20Speaker 2: was real. They all knew it was real. In fact,
- 7:23Speaker 2: they all knew it was authentic, and they chose to
- 7:26Speaker 2: deliberately lie to the American people. This is just some
- 7:30Speaker 2: of the two hundred plus executive orders that will be
- 7:33Speaker 2: signed by Donald Trump today. And this is exactly what
- 7:37Speaker 2: winning looks like. Welcome to Donald Trump's presidency in twenty
- 7:42Speaker 2: twenty five.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Now story number two.
- 7:44Speaker 2: President Trump, I'm now being told, will be signing a
- 7:48Speaker 2: massive slate of January sixth pardons immediately after being sworn in.
- 7:54Speaker 2: The pardons I have been told have already been drafted.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Now I get to do something fun, which is actually
- 8:01Speaker 2: report the news and read it from CNN, who you
- 8:05Speaker 2: know is losing their minds. Their headline reads Trump plans
- 8:09Speaker 2: to issue day one pardons for some convicted January the
- 8:13Speaker 2: sixth rioters. The question is who is going to be pardoned? Well,
- 8:18Speaker 2: number one, It's going to be people that were peaceful
- 8:21Speaker 2: at the top of the list. Now, the extent of
- 8:23Speaker 2: the initial pardons is still unclear. However, several sources describe
- 8:28Speaker 2: them as enough to be seen as quote delivering on
- 8:31Speaker 2: his long term held promise. There are about one thousand,
- 8:35Speaker 2: two hundred and seventy people that have been convicted of
- 8:38Speaker 2: January sixth related crimes, and the vast majority of those
- 8:41Speaker 2: defendants were forced to plead guilty because the government was
- 8:45Speaker 2: trying to lock them up forever, and that was how
- 8:49Speaker 2: they forced them into guilty pleas. Only a couple hundred,
- 8:53Speaker 2: by the way, are currently behind bars. Vice President lect JD.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Vance said an interview this week that rioters accused of
- 9:00Speaker 2: violence shouldn't be pardoned. He also said there is a
- 9:04Speaker 2: bit of a gray area in many of the cases.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Several Republican allies of Trump have also said they expect
- 9:10Speaker 2: him to approach the pardons on a quote case by
- 9:13Speaker 2: case basis. In fact, two key GOP lawmakers on Sunday
- 9:18Speaker 2: said that Donald Trump will be issuing pardons to quite
- 9:22Speaker 2: a few individuals who were not violent on January. The
- 9:26Speaker 2: sixth House Speaker Mike Johnson put it perfectly on Sunday
- 9:31Speaker 2: when he was on Meet the Press and he said,
- 9:33Speaker 2: quote that Trump and Vance agree peaceful protesters should be
- 9:38Speaker 2: pardon but violent criminals should not. And lastly, story number three,
- 9:43Speaker 2: as you were sleeping last night, Joe Biden and his lawyers,
- 9:47Speaker 2: they were getting a lot of pardons ready for what
- 9:49Speaker 2: is being described as a pardon poalooza. You may not
- 9:53Speaker 2: realize that Joe Biden has given out already more than
- 9:56Speaker 2: eight thousand pardons. Compare that to Donald Trump between twenty
- 10:01Speaker 2: seventeen and twenty twenty one, who only gave out two
- 10:04Speaker 2: hundred and thirty seven. Even Barack Obama, which was known
- 10:07Speaker 2: to hand out a lot of pardons, hit nineteen hundred
- 10:10Speaker 2: and Joe Biden is now over eight thousand. So who
- 10:14Speaker 2: is on the list in the final hours. There's much
- 10:17Speaker 2: speculation leaking right now that Joe Biden's pardon frenzy is
- 10:22Speaker 2: now going to include the Biden crime family. Yes, Biden
- 10:27Speaker 2: is expected to issue many more pardons in the last
- 10:30Speaker 2: moments of his stay at the White House, and commutations
- 10:35Speaker 2: to go with the record number of clemencies. Many of
- 10:38Speaker 2: them are described as quote controversial. Most notably there was
- 10:43Speaker 2: Biden breaking his promise not to partner his son Hunter Biden.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And then there were the commutations of sentences of thirty
- 10:50Speaker 2: seven of the forty prisoners, all killers and some of
- 10:54Speaker 2: them multiple murderers on federal death row. In fact, there
- 10:59Speaker 2: are only three three people that were evil enough that
- 11:02Speaker 2: Biden decided no, I'm not gonna show you any mercy
- 11:06Speaker 2: on that death row list. And on Friday, don't worry
- 11:09Speaker 2: if you were a drug dealer or involved in drug offenses,
- 11:13Speaker 2: Joe Biden was gonna hook you up. Yes. On Friday,
- 11:16Speaker 2: Biden commuted the sentences of nearly two thousand, five hundred
- 11:21Speaker 2: drug offenders, which The New York Times called the broadest
- 11:24Speaker 2: commutation of individual sentences ever issued by an American president.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So get ready to be even more shocked by the
- 11:34Speaker 2: last minute pardons, and I'll have them for you tomorrow.
