- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Strait's going to be open to everybody, so
- 0:04Speaker 1: it's international waters. Nobody's going to control it. We're going
- 0:07Speaker 1: to watch over it. We'll watch over it, but nobody's
- 0:09Speaker 1: going to control it. That's part of the negotiation that
- 0:12Speaker 1: we have. They would like to control it. Nobody's going
- 0:14Speaker 1: to control It's international waters, and oman will behave just
- 0:18Speaker 1: like everybody else. So we'll have to blow them up.
- 0:21Speaker 1: They understand that they'll be fun.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:29Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got one big
- 0:33Speaker 3: story for you, but a lot of caveats. The President
- 0:36Speaker 3: holding a cabinet meeting, making it clear that he's not
- 0:40Speaker 3: just working on one thing like Iran or oil prices. No,
- 0:44Speaker 3: he's working on national security issues, domestic issues, job creation,
- 0:49Speaker 3: inflation issues, showing exactly what the Trump America First Agenda
- 0:54Speaker 3: is working on. Right now, we have the clips and
- 0:57Speaker 3: we'll break it all down for you. It's the forty
- 0:59Speaker 3: seven and it starts right now. Story number one, President
- 1:04Speaker 3: Donald Trump's cabinet meeting was more than just routine. He
- 1:07Speaker 3: gathered the Cabinet inside the White House, and he made
- 1:10Speaker 3: it very clear exactly what his administration intends to do,
- 1:14Speaker 3: how it intends to govern in the second term, Aggressive, unapologetic,
- 1:20Speaker 3: and with a clear message that America is back in
- 1:23Speaker 3: charge now, from Iran and national security to the economy,
- 1:27Speaker 3: border security, an America's role on the world stage. President
- 1:31Speaker 3: Trump used the meeting to lay out his administration's forecast
- 1:36Speaker 3: as the defining issues he's facing and what the country
- 1:39Speaker 3: is facing right now now. The biggest part of the
- 1:42Speaker 3: meeting clearly came down to Iran, and it was obvious
- 1:46Speaker 3: that Donald Trump was turning up the heat on Iran,
- 1:49Speaker 3: making it clear that he believes Iran is in an
- 1:52Speaker 3: extremely weak position right now economically, and he also intends
- 1:57Speaker 3: to use that weakness for major leverage. Trump described Iran's
- 2:01Speaker 3: economy as being on the brink of collapse, pointing specifically
- 2:05Speaker 3: to the falling oil production, declining exports, massive inflation that
- 2:11Speaker 3: has hit the country, and also growing instability inside of
- 2:15Speaker 3: the country's government the present, saying this the Tehran is
- 2:19Speaker 3: running out of time and also running out of the
- 2:22Speaker 3: money they need. He said that economic pressure is exactly
- 2:26Speaker 3: why the United States now has the upper hand in negotiations.
- 2:30Speaker 3: The President also made it clear that he's not going
- 2:33Speaker 3: to be bullied and if Iran thinks they can wait
- 2:36Speaker 3: him out because the midterms, well they're wrong.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And we have the strongest military anywhere in the world.
- 2:42Speaker 1: As you know, you saw what we did with Venezuela.
- 2:47Speaker 1: That worked out very quickly, and we we're doing really
- 2:50Speaker 1: equally as well with But again people don't want to
- 2:54Speaker 1: write about it with Iran. Iran is very much intent
- 2:59Speaker 1: and work very much much to make a deal. So far,
- 3:01Speaker 1: they haven't gotten there that we're not satisfied with it,
- 3:03Speaker 1: but now we will be. We will be either that
- 3:06Speaker 1: or we'll have to just finish the job. But the
- 3:10Speaker 1: navy is gone, as they've said a thousand times, the
- 3:12Speaker 1: navy is gone, their air force is gone. Everything's gone.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And they're negotiating on fumes. But we'll see what happens.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Maybe we have to go back and finish it, Maybe
- 3:22Speaker 1: we don't.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Right now.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I mean, you can speak to Steve Whitcoff, Jared. They're
- 3:28Speaker 1: doing a good job, but right now I think it
- 3:32Speaker 1: looks like they want to just make a deal. They
- 3:34Speaker 1: want to Maybe I don't think they have a choice.
- 3:36Speaker 1: They're just going back to the internet because they get
- 3:38Speaker 1: a club, or their economies in free fall. They have
- 3:43Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty percent inflation, the money has no value.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Their whole economic system is broken down. They thought they
- 3:52Speaker 1: were going to outwait me. You know, we'll outwait him.
- 3:54Speaker 1: He's got the midterms. I don't care about the midterms.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So what happened last night, that was the prelude of
- 3:59Speaker 1: the midterm. People understand that they know that very simple
- 4:03Speaker 1: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I'm doing that for
- 4:06Speaker 1: the world. I'm not doing it just for us, And
- 4:08Speaker 1: we've had great support from other nations. By the way,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we don't need it at all, but we've had great
- 4:14Speaker 1: support from other nations. The problem is you always get
- 4:16Speaker 1: the support when you don't need it. When you need it,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you don't get the support.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Now, the President wasn't done with warnings. He also addressed
- 4:24Speaker 3: the growing tension surrounding the Strait of Hormus. Now, as
- 4:27Speaker 3: you know, that's one of the most strategically important shipping
- 4:31Speaker 3: lanes in the world. Roughly a fifth of the world's
- 4:34Speaker 3: oil supply moves through that region, meaning any disruption sends
- 4:39Speaker 3: the global energy markets into chaos now. Trump also made
- 4:42Speaker 3: it clear that he is growing very frustrated with Iran
- 4:46Speaker 3: dragging out the negotiations. The President says there will be
- 4:50Speaker 3: no sanctions, relief, no money, no nothing unless it Ran
- 4:54Speaker 3: agrees to America's demands.
- 4:57Speaker 4: The sanctions on Iran to allow Uran to sell screw.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Do you get no, We're not talking about any easing
- 5:02Speaker 1: of sanctions, giving money, No sanctions, no money, no nothing.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We have control of money that they claim is theirs
- 5:13Speaker 1: will keep control of that money, and when they behave
- 5:16Speaker 1: properly and when they do what's right, we'll let them
- 5:18Speaker 1: have their money. But right now we're not doing that,
- 5:21Speaker 1: and it's one thing that's not contingent on the other.
- 5:24Speaker 3: The President making it clear strength first, pressure first, and
- 5:28Speaker 3: absolutely no return to what he views as a failed
- 5:31Speaker 3: appeasement policy of past administrations now. The President then moved
- 5:36Speaker 3: on to border security and immigration. Another major focus of
- 5:40Speaker 3: the cabinet meeting was just that. Trump praised his administration's
- 5:44Speaker 3: cracked down illegal immigration and argued that aggressive enforcement measures
- 5:49Speaker 3: are finally restoring order after what he described as years
- 5:52Speaker 3: of chaos. Cabinet officials discussed increased deportation operations, expanded attention capacity,
- 6:00Speaker 3: and then efforts to target cartel networks and human trafficking
- 6:04Speaker 3: organizations as well. The president again tied border security directly
- 6:08Speaker 3: to national security, arguing that weak enforcement policies allowed criminal
- 6:13Speaker 3: organizations to gain unprecedented power around the world and inside
- 6:19Speaker 3: the United States. Trump also emphasized what he says is
- 6:23Speaker 3: a major difference between his administration and the Democrats. He
- 6:27Speaker 3: says it's simply to terrans. According to Trump, the message
- 6:30Speaker 3: now being sent globally is simple. If you enter illegally
- 6:35Speaker 3: into the United States, you will be removed. Administration officials
- 6:40Speaker 3: also discuss cooperation between federal agencies and local law enforcement
- 6:45Speaker 3: as part of the broader anti cartel operations.
- 6:49Speaker 1: We took the most dangerous, unsay violent, and open border
- 6:52Speaker 1: in the world. Anywhere in the world has no border
- 6:54Speaker 1: like the border we had, and created the most secure
- 6:57Speaker 1: border in the history of our country. We had no
- 7:00Speaker 1: people twelve months now, No people reported in the last
- 7:03Speaker 1: twelve months came in illegally. Zero illegal aliens admitted to
- 7:08Speaker 1: the United States in the last twelve months. And that's
- 7:11Speaker 1: those charts are made by you would say, politically unfriendly
- 7:14Speaker 1: people and the reason they don't come in is because
- 7:17Speaker 1: nobody comes up because they know that they're going to
- 7:20Speaker 1: be turned away and if they get in, they're going
- 7:22Speaker 1: to be moved out right away. So it's been zero.
- 7:25Speaker 1: You're the one that you do the reports. I'm actually
- 7:28Speaker 1: surprised by the number because I don't know how it
- 7:29Speaker 1: can be zero, but they say at zero. For the
- 7:32Speaker 1: last twelve months and twenty twenty five, we achieved the
- 7:35Speaker 1: largest drop and the murder rate ever recorded. So the
- 7:39Speaker 1: murder rate was quite high, and we achieved the largest
- 7:43Speaker 1: drop in the murder rate ever recorded to the lowest
- 7:46Speaker 1: level one hundred and twenty five years that seyear nineteen hundred.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And that's despite the fact that many people came in
- 7:52Speaker 1: from prisons and from very rough countries and from mental
- 7:57Speaker 1: institutions and from lots of other places drug dealers, as
- 8:01Speaker 1: they came in illegally. During the Biden administration. We've gotten
- 8:05Speaker 1: many of them out, but we still have some that
- 8:08Speaker 1: were looking for quite a few that were still looking for.
- 8:10Speaker 1: But we've gotten over eleven and eighty eight murders we're
- 8:15Speaker 1: allowed into a country. We've gotten a lot of them out.
- 8:17Speaker 1: We've gotten some we put them in jail. We don't
- 8:19Speaker 1: even trust the country to send them because come back
- 8:23Speaker 1: in maybe we put them in jail.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Now.
- 8:26Speaker 3: The President was clearly making this a midterm issue, comparing
- 8:29Speaker 3: and contrasting the Biden Myorchis DHS that released almost every
- 8:34Speaker 3: migrant encounter that would be every illegal immigrant encountered into
- 8:37Speaker 3: the United States of America. Those days are now over
- 8:41Speaker 3: thanks to President Donald Trump. The President then moved on
- 8:44Speaker 3: to the economy and energy, using the cabinet meeting to
- 8:48Speaker 3: argue that his economic agendas producing sing momentum despite the
- 8:52Speaker 3: global oil issue. Trump repeatedly turned to energy dominance as
- 8:58Speaker 3: a central theme, arguing that America must increase domestic production
- 9:03Speaker 3: while adversaries like Iran continue weakening economically. Cabinet officials discussed inflation, manufacturing, investment,
- 9:11Speaker 3: supply chain issues, and the energy pricing as it is
- 9:15Speaker 3: going up. Trump argued that America's economic strength comes from
- 9:19Speaker 3: producing more at home and reducing dependence on hostile for nations.
- 9:25Speaker 3: He also contrasted his administration's policies with what he called
- 9:30Speaker 3: radical climate extremism, saying energy restrictions weaken national security and
- 9:36Speaker 3: empower our adversaries overseas. The administration framed domestic oil and
- 9:41Speaker 3: gas production not only is an economic issue, but as
- 9:44Speaker 3: a geopolitical weapon against countries like Iran, Russia and China
- 9:50Speaker 3: found at home.
- 9:51Speaker 4: So again, it's an amazing transformation. Bottom line is the
- 9:55Speaker 4: center of geopolitics around energy has moved from other part
- 10:00Speaker 4: the world to the Western hemisphere. In the last five months,
- 10:03Speaker 4: you turned Venezuela from a sanctioned adversary into a strategic
- 10:07Speaker 4: ally and forty five minutes never happened in history before.
- 10:11Speaker 4: And what's going on in Alaska when I was there
- 10:14Speaker 4: last week in Alaska in the Nurslope, eighty thousand barrels
- 10:17Speaker 4: a day coming online at PICCO. That wouldn't have happened
- 10:20Speaker 4: with you. It's up by Willow on the Nurslope that's
- 10:22Speaker 4: going into the into the Alaska Pipeline. Twenty percent increase
- 10:26Speaker 4: just off that one field. So amazing work. It's energy
- 10:31Speaker 4: is a high tech industry and those guys that are
- 10:33Speaker 4: crushing it and they're loving the fact that they can
- 10:36Speaker 4: provide affordable, reliable, secure energy for America.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And we're working very hard in California. You know a
- 10:42Speaker 1: lot of people don't know this, but California has tremendous
- 10:45Speaker 1: tremendous oils. It's used to be number three in the nation,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and the radical left has just wiped it out and
- 10:52Speaker 1: we're working very hard to get that open again and
- 10:54Speaker 1: get it so the people that they gasoline prices, their
- 10:58Speaker 1: lack of energy is just staggering. It's staggering, and we're
- 11:03Speaker 1: actually making very good progress. Even people that were against
- 11:06Speaker 1: that at one point now they're saying, Wow, that'd be great.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But people don't realize it was one of the right Chris,
- 11:10Speaker 1: It was one of the top grilling states, one of
- 11:13Speaker 1: the I would say, in terms of reserves, is among
- 11:17Speaker 1: the top in the country. Nobody thinks of that. With
- 11:19Speaker 1: Caliph everything was just closed down, really violently closed down,
- 11:24Speaker 1: and we're opening up some of it and we're being
- 11:27Speaker 1: met with actually great spirit because they're paying so much
- 11:31Speaker 1: for gasoline that they don't have to be doing that,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and they have a very incompetent group of leaders, like
- 11:36Speaker 1: grossly incompetent.
- 11:38Speaker 3: So the big takeaway from the cabinet meeting was this,
- 11:42Speaker 3: you have a president that believes that the American people
- 11:45Speaker 3: are smart enough to understand he's doing big things and
- 11:49Speaker 3: making tough choices, and the administration one of the Americans
- 11:53Speaker 3: to see a president not only fully in command, but
- 11:55Speaker 3: surrounded by the cabinet officials who are aggressively executing policy,
- 12:00Speaker 3: not just on one issue, but across some multiple fronts
- 12:03Speaker 3: all at once, whether it's Iran, immigration, energy, or economic policy.
- 12:10Speaker 3: The tone of the meeting was confrontational, it was confident,
- 12:14Speaker 3: and it was designed to let you know what exactly
- 12:17Speaker 3: this White House is doing for you. And perhaps most importantly,
- 12:22Speaker 3: Trump made it clear that he believes his administration now
- 12:24Speaker 3: holds leverage, leverage over our adversaries overseas, leverage and negotiations,
- 12:31Speaker 3: and leverage politically heading into the midterms. So where are
- 12:35Speaker 3: we right now? Well, President Trump is arguing that not
- 12:38Speaker 3: only is he in the cabinet, showing exactly why Donald
- 12:42Speaker 3: Trump's agenda of America First is so dominant. It's also
- 12:46Speaker 3: a moment for the President to remind Americans what is
- 12:49Speaker 3: at stake and where we came from under the Biden regime. So,
- 12:54Speaker 3: based on these headlines, you may not get a lot
- 12:57Speaker 3: of love from the media because they want you to
- 12:58Speaker 3: believe this guy has fallen, But when you look at
- 13:01Speaker 3: what the President had to say, it's pretty clear the
- 13:04Speaker 3: America First policies are still moving forward and being implemented
- 13:09Speaker 3: as we speak.
