- 0:01Hi, everyone. It's been a long time. I have a new topic for today.
- 0:06It's called Healing Culture, How Generation Z is Redefining Mental Health.
- 0:12Welcome back to Mentor 365 Services, a calm place for healing,
- 0:17emotional growth, and becoming who you were always meant to be.
- 0:21I'm your host, Dina, and today we're going to talk about something powerful,
- 0:25how a new generation is redefining mental health, not just in therapy room,
- 0:31but in culture, in language, in creativity, and in everyday life.
- 0:35Take a deep breath with me, in and out, and let's begin.
- 0:41For a long time, mental health was survival. Our parents and grandparents didn't
- 0:47have the freedom to talk about feelings.
- 0:50Pain was something you carried alone. Crying was weakness.
- 0:54Silent was normal. we grew up hearing don't
- 0:57talk about it be strong keep it inside no
- 1:01one needs to know but something changed a new
- 1:04generation began asking questions why are
- 1:07we suffering quietly why is pain a secret why is love silent why is the strongest
- 1:13person the one who never breaks for generation z and for many of us healing
- 1:18is not a private battle anymore it's cultural it's language it's community it's identity.
- 1:25Have you ever noticed how we talk now?
- 1:28Words like boundaries, triggered, trauma, gaslighting, inner child, self-respect.
- 1:34These were clinical terms once. Now they are normal vocabulary.
- 1:39Not because everyone is trying to be a psychologist, but because we finally
- 1:44have words for what we feel.
- 1:47Language is healing. When you can name it, you can face it. When you face it, you can change it.
- 1:53Generation Z didn't make mental health popular. They made it speakable.
- 1:58Here's something I love. Healing is no longer only in therapy rooms.
- 2:03It's in art, fashion, stickers, journals, animated characters,
- 2:08quotes on your wall, music and podcasts like this one.
- 2:12People use creativity to say, I'm healing, I'm hurting, I'm trying.
- 2:16You can see mental health on a hoodie, a tumbler, a notebook,
- 2:21TikTok video, a drawing of a little character with the big feelings.
- 2:25Healing moved from private to visible, from professional to personal. That's powerful.
- 2:32One of the biggest shifts is this. Healing is becoming a community event.
- 2:36Instead of being alone, people find safe spaces online, podcasts,
- 2:42TikTok comments, Discord groups, anonymous support pages, mental health creators,
- 2:48people who share their scars and their survival.
- 2:51Instead of don't tell anyone, we now hear me too. I understand you're not alone.
- 2:58Community doesn't always fix pain, but it makes pain less lonely,
- 3:03and sometimes that is enough.
- 3:05And for many of us with immigrant roots, healing is complicated.
- 3:09We come from cultures where love is survival, affection is protection, not always softness.
- 3:16Like Asian families, Cambodian, Chinese, Malaysian, we carry history in our blood.
- 3:21War, silence, sacrifice, unspoken stories.
- 3:25Parents who worked so hard
- 3:28they never had time to process their own
- 3:31pain so emotions became work harder
- 3:34study more be strong don't cry not because
- 3:38they didn't love us but because they didn't know
- 3:41and in another way now we are
- 3:44the first generation saying I want peace I
- 3:47want softness I want to break the cycle that takes
- 3:51courage this movement matters because
- 3:54people are healing because um before
- 3:57they became you know parents boundaries exist
- 4:00in relationship men are allowed to feel women are allowed to say no silence
- 4:05is no longer the default trauma isn't a secret healing isn't embarrassing community
- 4:10care is real healing used to be rare now it's a choice we are not weaker we
- 4:16are wiser we are not dramatic we are expressive.
- 4:20We are not broken. We are becoming whole.
- 4:23So if you're listening to this today and nobody ever taught you how to heal, it's okay.
- 4:28You can be the first. You are allowed to feel. You are allowed to rest.
- 4:32You are allowed to love yourself in a world that told you not to.
- 4:36Healing is not a trend. It's a culture and you are a part of it.
- 4:43Thank you for listening. If this episode helped you and share it with someone
- 4:48who needs soft encouragement today, you are worthy, you are becoming, you are not alone.
- 4:53Until next time, take care of your mind and your health. God bless.
