- 0:00I'm thinking today of 2 Timothy 1, verse 7. And
- 0:05it says, For God has not given us a spirit of
- 0:10timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
- 0:14So let's look at this. Obviously, I could preach
- 0:17a sermon out of here, but I've got just over
- 0:18a minute left. God has not given us a spirit
- 0:23of timidity. Don't balk. Don't back down. Be
- 0:27bold. Be strong. Be humble. Have humility, but
- 0:31there's a difference between humility and timidity.
- 0:33We don't fear the outcomes of actions taken because
- 0:37the Lord directed us to take them. We trust that
- 0:40he will set the outcome to be what he wants it
- 0:43to be. Trust in the Lord. Let go your spirit
- 0:46of timidity, your spirit of fear, anxiousness,
- 0:49wonder, and worry. Trust in the Lord. But the
- 0:52spirit that he has given us is a spirit of power.
- 0:55That's the ability to get things done. And love,
- 0:57that's the ability to pour out our hearts and
- 1:00care for other people and to love folks and love
- 1:03God, love one another. And discipline, that's
- 1:07the ability to make choices that are necessary
- 1:09and to do them in a linear way. organized, logical
- 1:13way. Set aside a specific time every day to pray
- 1:16or a specific time every day to read or a specific
- 1:19time every day to memorize the word or all three
- 1:21of those things. Combine them into a quiet time
- 1:24with the Lord as we talked about a month ago
- 1:26or so. I'm encouraging you today as the Lord
- 1:29has encouraged me. We have not been given a spirit
- 1:32of timidity. It's time we stood up for what was
- 1:34right in the kingdom of God and put Satan under
- 1:37our boot. We have been given a spirit of power
- 1:39and love and discipline. No one can stop us.
