In Genesis 6 the dove with the olive leaf in its beak was enough to fill Noah with hope. He’s looking out over a God-judged earth, but in his hand he is holding on to hope. Because life is starting to bloom again. He was still on the ark. He could still only see the waters of judgment, but the dove had brought him a small piece of a different world.
