- 1:02Speaker 1: story that I want you to hear. My next guest
- 1:05Speaker 1: is Bishop Ezekiel Williams. He is the pastor and founder
- 1:08Speaker 1: of Faith World Ministries in Norfolk, Virginia, and currently started
- 1:12Speaker 1: in the Netflix docuseries Voices of Fire. The six episode
- 1:16Speaker 1: series follows singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer for Royal Williams
- 1:20Speaker 1: and who is his nephew, Bishop Willims. In this core
- 1:23Speaker 1: of team influential gospel leaders venture into Hampton, Rhodes and
- 1:26Speaker 1: He's gonna tell us what happened to the roads is
- 1:28Speaker 1: all about to find undiscovered talent Please working to money
- 1:32Speaker 1: making conversations. The inspiration behind the Voices of Fire, Bishop
- 1:36Speaker 1: Ezekiel Williams. How you doing, sir? Thank you so much, sir.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I am well and glad to be here. Well, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 1: first of all, I've seen the series twice. It was
- 1:48Speaker 1: when it first came out, it was trending and still
- 1:50Speaker 1: is trending on Netflix. A top top you know, you
- 1:53Speaker 1: do a top ten if you have don't have a
- 1:55Speaker 1: Netflix account. When you're parting up top ten, that means
- 1:58Speaker 1: everybody's watching it. And usually how it works is this
- 2:01Speaker 1: is a series, It's six episodes, so as people watch
- 2:04Speaker 1: another expert to go next to and it causes your
- 2:07Speaker 1: serious to trend, which bolds well because that's what Netflix want.
- 2:11Speaker 1: And Voices of Fire is um I would call like
- 2:15Speaker 1: an audio testimonial. Can I say that? I think you can?
- 2:21Speaker 1: I think I think that's that's a good, uh good
- 2:24Speaker 1: way to put it. And uh, if I had to
- 2:29Speaker 1: have a different title, the title workshop Voices of Fire,
- 2:33Speaker 1: it could have been this is my story, that could
- 2:37Speaker 1: have been the title, UM feel the voice that could be.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But the name of this series is Voices of Fire,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and that works out just fired. I'm just telling you, Bishop,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it took me on a journey and allowed me to
- 2:50Speaker 1: think about my life, think about the expectations people have
- 2:55Speaker 1: for you, for yourself, the setbacks that you had even life.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And I got emotional at times. Tell me your goal
- 3:06Speaker 1: because because you think you hit all the points with me,
- 3:11Speaker 1: that's wonderful. I am so glad you're here and just amaze,
- 3:15Speaker 1: uh that you were able to take the time to
- 3:18Speaker 1: do it twice all six episodes. Thank you so much. Listen,
- 3:23Speaker 1: we aim to touch lives. My whole goal, it's just
- 3:28Speaker 1: spread the good news about Jesus. Christ, and so I've
- 3:32Speaker 1: come to realize that people don't always want to hear
- 3:35Speaker 1: you preach over the pulpit. So music is a medium
- 3:41Speaker 1: that we can utilize, the tool that we can utilize
- 3:44Speaker 1: that transcends all walks of life. Everybody's uh loves music,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and so we found that that was a good way
- 3:53Speaker 1: to get the message out. And so I think that
- 3:56Speaker 1: that has been achieved. But in the process, I believe
- 4:00Speaker 1: that the Lord does what he does, and he touches lives.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He takes one one incident and he causes a different
- 4:08Speaker 1: outcome in everybody's life. And so when we came together
- 4:13Speaker 1: and we began to sing and to to to worship
- 4:16Speaker 1: as we did, and to write even record the testimonies
- 4:21Speaker 1: of so many individuals, man, let me tell you, it
- 4:25Speaker 1: was amazing and it just invoked all kinds of emotions. Well,
- 4:31Speaker 1: Bishop um this series when he was when he was
- 4:34Speaker 1: brought to me, I had to bring it to show
- 4:36Speaker 1: in the fact, I want to get Larry, who is
- 4:37Speaker 1: your music director. I want to get paid who's your
- 4:40Speaker 1: vocal coach? And my boy Patrick, you know, he's the
- 4:43Speaker 1: he's the comedy relief, but he's also a brilliant choirmaster. Okay,
- 4:47Speaker 1: let's don't be real about when Lynnette walked back from
- 4:50Speaker 1: he said, Uh, she can sing and she find he's real.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He's real. Love, he loved, he's serious, can be very much.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And so you know, because you said that in your
- 5:06Speaker 1: in the documentary about sometimes people don't want to hear
- 5:09Speaker 1: you preach it. Sometimes you have to do You have
- 5:10Speaker 1: to tell the story of the gospel a different way.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And music always connect with people. But but this was
- 5:18Speaker 1: a local project we called Hampton Roads. Tell everybody about
- 5:21Speaker 1: Hampton Rhodes, Virginia. Well, Hampton Roads, uh is a wonderful
- 5:26Speaker 1: place to reside. Of course, it's uh heavily military in
- 5:32Speaker 1: our area, and so it's transient. We have people who
- 5:35Speaker 1: come from all parts of the world uh to reside here.
- 5:39Speaker 1: They're here for a season and then they're gone. Some
- 5:41Speaker 1: people take up their roots or make plant their roots here.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And um, it's always been a musical area. Were seated
- 5:51Speaker 1: right here on the eastern seaboard, uh right you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: below New York and d C. And right above North Carolina,
- 6:00Speaker 1: South Carolina, Georgia, and all of these places are very
- 6:04Speaker 1: very musical places. But it makes Virginia it makes Hapton
- 6:08Speaker 1: Roads almost like a melting pot or um, as they
- 6:13Speaker 1: say in New Orleans, a big pot of gumbo. We
- 6:16Speaker 1: have a little bit of everything, and we've produced some
- 6:20Speaker 1: of the nation's greatest artists uh that there ever was,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and so I'm very very proud of that, and um
- 6:28Speaker 1: uh music just kind of flows throughout the antire You know.
- 6:31Speaker 1: The interesting thing about because I've been in the area
- 6:34Speaker 1: a lot. You know, Steve Harvey and I are the
- 6:36Speaker 1: Chrysler Hall. I know exactly. I've been on that stage,
- 6:39Speaker 1: Chrysler Hall, so I know the brilliance, that facility, the quality.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I know that community. So a lot of many a
- 6:47Speaker 1: concert down in that Chrysler Hall area and great food,
- 6:52Speaker 1: a very uh community driven area down there. But you
- 6:59Speaker 1: the thing I want to talk about this series is
- 7:01Speaker 1: that you got me emotional. Then you taught me something
- 7:05Speaker 1: a boy sopranos, altos and tennis. And then these three
- 7:09Speaker 1: individuals I mentioned their name earlier, Peggy the vocal code,
- 7:12Speaker 1: Patrick chef math choir master excuse me, and then the
- 7:16Speaker 1: more Larry talk about how they came together in the
- 7:19Speaker 1: project because we know about Forrell, superstar rapper, and I
- 7:22Speaker 1: also learned two things about Farrell. Off stage, he's a
- 7:26Speaker 1: for real On stage, he's a Farrell because on stage
- 7:30Speaker 1: that star power takes over. Stage, He's humble, he's a
- 7:35Speaker 1: he's he's a great person both places, but it's a
- 7:38Speaker 1: different He understands his position in life. On stage he's
- 7:42Speaker 1: a superstar. Off stage he's a humble, engaged individual. But
- 7:45Speaker 1: you had three people that help you carry this magnificent series.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Let's talk about them absolutely, And that's an easy thing
- 7:53Speaker 1: to do, because for me it was a no brainer. Um.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Most of us have worked together all of our lives. Uh.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Peggy was one of the individuals who gave me, uh,
- 8:07Speaker 1: my first opportunity of exposure with some of the greatest
- 8:12Speaker 1: stars that would come to the Hampton Roads area. As
- 8:16Speaker 1: I played music most of my life piano and organ,
- 8:19Speaker 1: and I was able to play for her choir, legendary choir,
- 8:23Speaker 1: the Philharmonics and UM and so she gave me the
- 8:27Speaker 1: opportunity to work with them at maybe the age about
- 8:31Speaker 1: fifteen years old. And so, UM, I have a long
- 8:35Speaker 1: lasting relationship with her. She's one of the best at
- 8:38Speaker 1: what she does. And UM, of course Patrick Riddick, we
- 8:42Speaker 1: grew up in the same church he's younger than I,
- 8:46Speaker 1: but we both attended the same church, New Jerusalem, Church
- 8:49Speaker 1: of God in Christ, where our late founder was the
- 8:53Speaker 1: late Bishop Barnett Carl thora Good, the man installed so
- 8:57Speaker 1: much in all of us, and and so working with
- 9:01Speaker 1: him there at the church, I knew his ability, his competence,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and uh, I knew that he was going to be
- 9:08Speaker 1: the one for the job. And then Larry George, a
- 9:12Speaker 1: young man. He's my own pastor of music there at
- 9:15Speaker 1: Faith World Ministry, and so we couldn't do anything without him.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I've watched him take a group of singers that were
- 9:22Speaker 1: mediocre and just turned them into stella voices, and so
- 9:28Speaker 1: he was a no brainer for me to pull them
- 9:30Speaker 1: all together to assist me in this project. I have
- 9:34Speaker 1: my own musical career, but for some time after I
- 9:39Speaker 1: started preaching, I put it on the chef shelf and
- 9:43Speaker 1: and and later it was my nephew that helped me
- 9:47Speaker 1: to understand, No, the world needs what you have to
- 9:51Speaker 1: offer and we need to come together and do something
- 9:55Speaker 1: to demonstrate that. And and here's where we are. Are
- 10:00Speaker 1: you you you landed in a great place. And you know,
- 10:03Speaker 1: Netflix is an amazing storyteller because there was Rodney Scott.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I discovered him and that barbecue, his ability to bar
- 10:12Speaker 1: based on that storytelling that Chef series. Now we've got
- 10:15Speaker 1: a gospel. Here's the thing that interests me the most
- 10:19Speaker 1: because it's a diverse gospel. I got the fact that
- 10:22Speaker 1: you could have easily said, you know, I'm gonna get
- 10:23Speaker 1: the best Black gospel singers, but that wasn't the goal
- 10:27Speaker 1: of this series. The goal of this series was to
- 10:30Speaker 1: create a diverse so you can pull everybody in. Everybody
- 10:34Speaker 1: can understand that they can hear the word, seen the word,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and participate technical doctors walking through the steps of why
- 10:41Speaker 1: that was important to you? That was very important to
- 10:45Speaker 1: me because I have a vision of building or or
- 10:49Speaker 1: forming a multicultural church. And so for me, having acquired
- 10:55Speaker 1: that just consisted of people who looked like me was
- 10:59Speaker 1: not going to help me to accomplish that goal. And
- 11:03Speaker 1: so I envisioned the acquire that was comprised of people
- 11:07Speaker 1: from all walks of life. And uh, And I guess
- 11:10Speaker 1: my whole thought was, you know, we we know in
- 11:13Speaker 1: the Black gospel choir. You we know about the announcing,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and we know that the powerful individuals that sing. But
- 11:21Speaker 1: I was more interested in pulling in Caucasians and Latinos
- 11:26Speaker 1: and people from different ethnicities that were also Orientals, that
- 11:31Speaker 1: were also equally talented, equally anointed. And I felt like
- 11:37Speaker 1: if we put them together in a choir, when people
- 11:40Speaker 1: saw people that look like them, or saw individuals who
- 11:44Speaker 1: resembled them, it would be an open invitation for them
- 11:49Speaker 1: to come and to worship and to be a part
- 11:52Speaker 1: of what we were doing at Faith World, and and
- 11:54Speaker 1: and so far, I must say it has worked it
- 11:58Speaker 1: as we have accomplished that goal. I've been contacted by
- 12:02Speaker 1: people from all over the world, and uh, I would
- 12:05Speaker 1: have never imagined. I would have never imagined I was
- 12:08Speaker 1: thinking on one level, but when you get calls from
- 12:11Speaker 1: Brazil and Switzerland and Norway and and um Sri Lanka
- 12:19Speaker 1: and so many other places, Uh, it really just blows
- 12:22Speaker 1: your mind that God is really able to do, exceeding
- 12:27Speaker 1: abundantly above all that we can ask to think according
- 12:30Speaker 1: to the power that works in us. Well, I'm talking
- 12:33Speaker 1: to Bishop of Ezeki Williams Are that I was called
- 12:35Speaker 1: the hit series, popular series, the trending series, like voices
- 12:39Speaker 1: like on Netli. You know, you used the word gobble earlier,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and I I thought ran through my mind when I
- 12:46Speaker 1: watched the series, and I want to be an insulting
- 12:48Speaker 1: and use the word gouble, but you used the word gumble.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Guess what. I'm from Houston, Texas. I love gumbo. Okay,
- 12:53Speaker 1: So when I when when when I see you know,
- 12:57Speaker 1: whether Maria, you know dan Lee, you know the Pucky Twins,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know all coming together, Ilana. What people need to
- 13:07Speaker 1: understand about the series is that this is this series
- 13:10Speaker 1: is bigger than music. It's about life. It's about what
- 13:14Speaker 1: we need right now when we come out of and
- 13:17Speaker 1: going to one. We need to understand that we can
- 13:21Speaker 1: all eat at the same table, because that's what happens.
- 13:23Speaker 1: People feel that when you look different, that you don't
- 13:26Speaker 1: have the same sensibilities, the same eating habits, are the
- 13:29Speaker 1: same lifestyle needs. And what this series did for me,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I believe you put some people in an uncomfortable environment
- 13:38Speaker 1: and they became comfortable and that's where the anointing part
- 13:41Speaker 1: comes out. Correct. Yeah, yes, yes, absolutely, and all things
- 13:47Speaker 1: work together for the good of them that love the Lord.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And I'm telling you, when we put those individuals together,
- 13:55Speaker 1: we did not know initially that or what that story
- 13:59Speaker 1: was us or how amazing their stories were, but God knew,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and so it was an opportunity for us to work together,
- 14:08Speaker 1: to get to know one another. And there was a
- 14:11Speaker 1: love that UH began to develop between the choir members
- 14:16Speaker 1: and the directors, and we became one big family. And no,
- 14:21Speaker 1: they didn't say, okay, Bishop Williams, we want to become
- 14:25Speaker 1: members of your church necessarily, but that was a love
- 14:28Speaker 1: that superseded even that kind of commitment. And I think
- 14:33Speaker 1: it's a wonderful thing because um, God has the ability
- 14:37Speaker 1: to erase all the boundaries and all of all of
- 14:41Speaker 1: the lines of division. And in a time when our
- 14:46Speaker 1: country has seen so much division, I thought it was
- 14:49Speaker 1: amazing that this series came out UM at a time
- 14:56Speaker 1: during our election and all of that, when there was
- 14:58Speaker 1: so much division working in our country. This series came
- 15:01Speaker 1: out to show that we can work together. There are
- 15:04Speaker 1: still people who don't see color, but we just see souls,
- 15:09Speaker 1: We see lives, We see individuals that are just like us,
- 15:13Speaker 1: just different scan and and it all makes sense to me.
- 15:17Speaker 1: It's finally here, the season of celebration, and no matter
- 15:21Speaker 1: how you celebrate with family and friends, whether you're preparing

- 17:13Speaker 1: dot ai. It really did. And so let me let
- 17:16Speaker 1: me set the tone for everybody who have not seen
- 17:18Speaker 1: the series and half seen this series, I'm just I'm
- 17:21Speaker 1: just bringing back good feelings, a good time, good news.
- 17:24Speaker 1: As they said, I'm bringing back good news. Now you
- 17:27Speaker 1: have four black people here, well five you want to
- 17:29Speaker 1: cleave forever? Who say I want to bring together mixed voices?
- 17:34Speaker 1: Because a Lana, she was fifteen years old, she only
- 17:38Speaker 1: has one ear, so she can only really hear fifty
- 17:41Speaker 1: of the sound she's white at tag. Okay, I'm just
- 17:45Speaker 1: gonna and then you have dan Lee. Who are I
- 17:49Speaker 1: say that was the one that was gonna make me cry?
- 17:51Speaker 1: But I'm sure you guys cried a lot too. So
- 17:53Speaker 1: when she did just Jesus Loves Me, I went, okay,
- 17:59Speaker 1: a saw. I know I've sung in my life so
- 18:03Speaker 1: many times, But why is this song affected me? I'm
- 18:06Speaker 1: gonna ask you that question, Bishop, Why did that song
- 18:09Speaker 1: when she sunk it den Lee affect me? Well? Because
- 18:16Speaker 1: she she sang that song from a place of sincerity.
- 18:20Speaker 1: She sang that song from a place of experience. Um.
- 18:25Speaker 1: We don't know everybody's story, we don't know everybody's welcome life.
- 18:31Speaker 1: But I can imagine um that she's had her challenges
- 18:36Speaker 1: and as we all have experienced, rejection and many different
- 18:39Speaker 1: things in life, and to come to a place where, um,
- 18:44Speaker 1: she understands that regardless of what I've been through, regardless
- 18:48Speaker 1: of what I've had to deal with in life, regardless
- 18:50Speaker 1: to to to the different hills and valleys and mountains
- 18:55Speaker 1: and low places that Jesus loves me. When you come
- 19:00Speaker 1: to that reality, when you come to that place of awareness,
- 19:04Speaker 1: that there's nothing that you can do that will cause
- 19:08Speaker 1: him to not love you, or that will um prevent
- 19:12Speaker 1: his love in your life. It's a wonderful place to
- 19:17Speaker 1: be alive. And and and I think that's where she was,
- 19:21Speaker 1: um and when the tears were flowing and she says
- 19:24Speaker 1: Jesus loves me. And I don't want to give away
- 19:27Speaker 1: too much, but when she but when she says everybody
- 19:32Speaker 1: deserves to be loved, I cannot watch that scene without
- 19:37Speaker 1: tearing up. I get it, I get it, and and
- 19:40Speaker 1: that's a message that we want the world to get well.
- 19:44Speaker 1: But tell everybody. I spoke to the bishop prior to
- 19:48Speaker 1: the interview so I can get it out of my
- 19:50Speaker 1: system because I knew that if I reveal this on
- 19:54Speaker 1: the show, how to slow down. And had to take
- 19:57Speaker 1: some moments together myself because only her rose when she
- 20:02Speaker 1: saw Yeah, she took me there, good old girl out
- 20:07Speaker 1: of Houston, Texas country as you can get it. And
- 20:13Speaker 1: you know Marcus took me there. When you hear his story,
- 20:16Speaker 1: because I can't tell you the story, you need to
- 20:17Speaker 1: watch the series. But everybody has a testimony. Then they
- 20:23Speaker 1: tells them why they walked through these doors and why
- 20:26Speaker 1: they were chosen because there were three thousand appricans Okay,
- 20:29Speaker 1: three hundred were cut down to three hundred, and they
- 20:32Speaker 1: came in and we saw a part of these stories. Now,
- 20:36Speaker 1: the part of this story is that what you had
- 20:39Speaker 1: to deal with in in your compadres, I want to say,
- 20:43Speaker 1: because y'all had to see it all, we only saw
- 20:45Speaker 1: a version of that. Where were you guys that emotionally
- 20:48Speaker 1: doing this whole journey? Bishop? Well, it was very difficult.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think it was hard for for everyone involved, but
- 20:57Speaker 1: it was difficult for me because, um, the talent was
- 21:03Speaker 1: so good. I mean, if you had to score from
- 21:07Speaker 1: one to a hundred for each individual's um we had
- 21:14Speaker 1: out of the three hundred, we have probably had two
- 21:16Speaker 1: hundred one hundreds. So at that point, you know, you
- 21:21Speaker 1: have to make some decisions and it can't just be
- 21:24Speaker 1: based on their musical ability, and that becomes very difficult
- 21:28Speaker 1: because you see in everybody's eyes and you hear in
- 21:32Speaker 1: everyone's voice that this is something that they've dreamed, dripped about,
- 21:36Speaker 1: and this is something that they've wanted to do, uh
- 21:40Speaker 1: for sover very long, and they're right here on the
- 21:43Speaker 1: at the brink of their their dream coming true, and
- 21:48Speaker 1: you have to decide will you make it? Uh? Will
- 21:52Speaker 1: we send you home? It's a very very difficult place
- 21:55Speaker 1: to be in. And we labor greatly uh in that
- 21:59Speaker 1: and and and there were sometimes of frustration, um that
- 22:04Speaker 1: there were even individuals that that the other said, hey,
- 22:10Speaker 1: we gotta let them go. That I even went back.
- 22:12Speaker 1: It's not shown on the video, but I even went
- 22:15Speaker 1: back and said, can't we give them a one more chance?
- 22:17Speaker 1: Is there anything else we can do? My heart, my
- 22:20Speaker 1: heart was very, very very attached to much of what
- 22:23Speaker 1: was taken place because because you say it at the beginning,
- 22:26Speaker 1: no callbacks, one shot to showcase your tap. That's right,
- 22:32Speaker 1: absolutely and and and trust me, I was reminded of
- 22:37Speaker 1: that several times during the process as I tried to
- 22:42Speaker 1: bother and reason uh with individuals concerning other thingers, I
- 22:48Speaker 1: was reminded, you know, you know, we gotta what what
- 22:52Speaker 1: what did Ferel say, Um, we want to acquire full
- 22:56Speaker 1: of unicorns? And so um that made the difference. That
- 23:01Speaker 1: made the difference because you said bus voice is different styles,
- 23:08Speaker 1: cultural difference, and you want to mail that into one
- 23:13Speaker 1: giant unicorn, which I felt was accomplished. But it's broken
- 23:17Speaker 1: down each series the first three episodes are to me,
- 23:22Speaker 1: the most emotional part of the series. Don't get me wrong,
- 23:25Speaker 1: The others are there too, because you get to know
- 23:28Speaker 1: the people, You get to hear that story, you get
- 23:30Speaker 1: to see that that passionate singing that coming from the
- 23:35Speaker 1: you know he and Ki Ki and a classical apple training.
- 23:38Speaker 1: You know, you talk about Damien and his uh, his
- 23:41Speaker 1: attempts with his life and how I went sideways several times,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and because I read dan Lee uh you know Jasmine,
- 23:48Speaker 1: you know, when she auditioned for the first time in
- 23:51Speaker 1: front of her real and again doubting herself like she
- 23:54Speaker 1: doubted herselves so many times in the life. And that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: why I recommended people to see this, because you know,
- 24:00Speaker 1: I created money making conversation because I always tell people that,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know, there's as so many opportunities to be great
- 24:06Speaker 1: or seek that opportunity, and we don't do it. And
- 24:08Speaker 1: that's what this series exposed because a lot of people
- 24:10Speaker 1: are looking for that second third or they are they
- 24:13Speaker 1: returned from a walkaway moment that they missed out on.
- 24:16Speaker 1: You know, you know, Dame is one of those people,
- 24:19Speaker 1: you know, and that's really was enlightening and inspiring to me.
- 24:23Speaker 1: So there is a strong level of inspirational inspiration in
- 24:27Speaker 1: this series as well, correct, Bishop, That's right, absolutely, there's
- 24:31Speaker 1: a strong level of inspiration and and and that actually
- 24:38Speaker 1: was kind of where it boiled down to in the
- 24:40Speaker 1: selection of some of those difficult choices, those difficult choices
- 24:45Speaker 1: that we had to make in selecting singers. Um when
- 24:48Speaker 1: they had the talent and they had it all going
- 24:51Speaker 1: for them, then we had to go to the place
- 24:54Speaker 1: of saying, but who moves the audience the most? Who
- 24:58Speaker 1: who brings the spirit at them? You know? And so
- 25:02Speaker 1: that spiritual emotional um element was was very important as well.
- 25:10Speaker 1: You know, there's here's the fun part about the whole
- 25:12Speaker 1: series to me. If you see Michael Jordan walking the room,
- 25:17Speaker 1: you know, first of all, he's six six, and you're
- 25:19Speaker 1: gonna notice something different about him. You know, he's six
- 25:21Speaker 1: six or defensive tackle or football he may be like
- 25:26Speaker 1: through hundred powers, so you're gonna notice something different about him.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So you're gonna assume there's something unique or special about
- 25:33Speaker 1: that person, and it may cross humble rumbles in the room,
- 25:36Speaker 1: who's that guy? Who's that guy? But this show reveals
- 25:40Speaker 1: how God has talented people just walking around. They have
- 25:45Speaker 1: restricted their responsibility of that talent. And that's what this
- 25:49Speaker 1: series is all about. And the classic example is Maria. Absolutely,
- 25:58Speaker 1: come on, we'll come on with that. Tell her absolutely
- 26:02Speaker 1: this this young girl, Um, she reminds me of a
- 26:07Speaker 1: Sandy Patty and just a little frame, um, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 1: and you just don't expect her to be able to
- 26:18Speaker 1: do what she does. But then she she sings from
- 26:22Speaker 1: a place of sincerity and in pureness, and her voice,
- 26:26Speaker 1: my god, it just penetrates your heart and it's just amazing.
- 26:32Speaker 1: She's um, you know, she has a an affiliation with
- 26:37Speaker 1: Native Americans and and that's something that you would not
- 26:42Speaker 1: have known and just her whole upbringing and you just
- 26:47Speaker 1: gotta see it. You just gotta see. That's all I'm saying.
- 26:52Speaker 1: She is a hard part about it. We're talking about
- 26:55Speaker 1: the series, but we can't tell you about the series
- 26:58Speaker 1: because we went to juror need to be somewhat original. Yeah,
- 27:03Speaker 1: we want you to walk in and see what we
- 27:05Speaker 1: felt visually and emotionally, and I think I think we've
- 27:08Speaker 1: done a really good job of that and telling you
- 27:11Speaker 1: the how we will impacted. Of course, you know you
- 27:14Speaker 1: were there for the entire three hundred auditions, I've seen
- 27:17Speaker 1: a small window of it. But to answer your question,
- 27:20Speaker 1: when you say a certain people who doubt it, Maria
- 27:23Speaker 1: was one of those people who had doubt what she
- 27:25Speaker 1: left the room. Yes, Patrick had issues because I don't
- 27:32Speaker 1: know exactly exactly. And it's it's it's very very uh
- 27:42Speaker 1: what would I say. It's a very fulfilling um um
- 27:47Speaker 1: feeling that you get from this when you get to
- 27:50Speaker 1: see them fight their way back and and make believers
- 27:55Speaker 1: out of the people who doubted them. Um. More than
- 27:58Speaker 1: one occasion, we were skeptic and and we just didn't know.
- 28:04Speaker 1: But these same individuals went to work. I mean, they
- 28:08Speaker 1: brought their a game and they went to work, and
- 28:11Speaker 1: before it was over, we were all we were all
- 28:14Speaker 1: convinced that they were the right choice. Absolutely. You know
- 28:18Speaker 1: the Clock Sisters when it came out in um one
- 28:23Speaker 1: not one thing that kept saying. The mother major of
- 28:26Speaker 1: the choir was talking about that one voice. One voice.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You know, I want all y'all. Y'all might be separate,
- 28:33Speaker 1: but we need one voice. The Pucket Twins come on that. Yeah,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I told you I've seen this series twice now, so
- 28:43Speaker 1: I ever I can talk to you about this series,
- 28:46Speaker 1: all and all fair, but the Pocket Twins one voice
- 28:50Speaker 1: tell us about that one voice, one voice? Uh, I really, honestly,
- 28:55Speaker 1: it was my first time experiencing anything like that. I was,
- 29:00Speaker 1: I was moved beyond expression when I heard them. That's something.
- 29:06Speaker 1: It has to be something in their DNA being twins. Um.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I've often heard that twins can sometimes know what the
- 29:15Speaker 1: other one is thinking, and they can feel what the
- 29:17Speaker 1: other one is going through. Well, if any of that
- 29:20Speaker 1: is true, these twins um have the ability to have
- 29:25Speaker 1: a unified voice. Um when they sing. There are times
- 29:30Speaker 1: when you can't tell one from the other. And it's amazing.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And not to mention, um, these are not what you
- 29:38Speaker 1: would call, uh, your classical or your classic soul for singers. Um.
- 29:46Speaker 1: These these these boys are white, these white boys. And
- 29:50Speaker 1: I mean when I wouldn't you were feeling too much,
- 29:56Speaker 1: too much, But I'm telling you, I mean, they let
- 30:02Speaker 1: you have it, and it's amazing. You gotta see it.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You gotta see it. You won't regret it, No, you
- 30:09Speaker 1: won't to get uh. The couple of the additional note
- 30:12Speaker 1: to the Voices of the Fire Choir will be releasing
- 30:14Speaker 1: his first single hit the refresh in February. Hit the
- 30:18Speaker 1: refresh in February, and if you want to see him
- 30:20Speaker 1: February six on b ET the Voice of the Fire Choir.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Voices of Fire Choir were performing on the twenty second
- 30:27Speaker 1: annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. And now we're gonna see
- 30:31Speaker 1: him on the for real, not just on Netflix on cable. Well,
- 30:35Speaker 1: what's the big expectation. What's the journey from? Because in
- 30:38Speaker 1: the beginning you told them you're gonna sing here, You're
- 30:40Speaker 1: gonna premier here. The opportunity to travelers, country, travelers, world,
- 30:45Speaker 1: is your vision happening. It's happening, man, It's happening. And
- 30:49Speaker 1: I must admit, I gotta be honest. Much of what
- 30:52Speaker 1: I was saying initially was by faith. I was speaking
- 30:57Speaker 1: by faith. I was I was calling those things that
- 31:00Speaker 1: be not as though they were and calling them into existence.
- 31:04Speaker 1: But God is not letting me down, He's not failing me.
- 31:07Speaker 1: These opportunities are manifesting daily. Um. We're receiving calls from
- 31:14Speaker 1: so many individuals and UM just trying to pick the
- 31:17Speaker 1: right uh, make the right decisions as to the different
- 31:22Speaker 1: events that we should do. But it's been amazing, and
- 31:27Speaker 1: you know this whole thing with the BT and the
- 31:31Speaker 1: Gospel Uh celebration for the Super Bowl is one of
- 31:35Speaker 1: those things. I would have never imagined that I would
- 31:38Speaker 1: be involved in anything like that, But that's the door
- 31:42Speaker 1: that has opened, along with so many other doors. And
- 31:46Speaker 1: and and yes we have um we have also uh
- 31:51Speaker 1: worked a contract with our c a inspiration and to
- 31:55Speaker 1: be on that label or to be a part of
- 31:58Speaker 1: that family. UM with so many other gospel grades, I'm
- 32:04Speaker 1: not even gonna start naming them, but you know, the
- 32:07Speaker 1: greatest are the greats are there and uh to be
- 32:11Speaker 1: listed there among those individuals, it's it's just a true
- 32:14Speaker 1: testament that dreams really do come true. And UH and
- 32:19Speaker 1: God is faithful to fulfill his word in your life.
- 32:22Speaker 1: If you make sure a promise, He's gonna make good
- 32:24Speaker 1: on it. And it's happening. It's happening. It's a wonderful thing. Well, Bishop,
- 32:29Speaker 1: I survived, I've done this interview. Uh, you know, yes,
- 32:35Speaker 1: Jesus does love us all. And then Dan Lee says
- 32:39Speaker 1: the temple in the beginning, that's the only thing I'm
- 32:41Speaker 1: gonna give aware about this series. And there are unicorns
- 32:45Speaker 1: in this series. There is redemption that is uplift. There
- 32:49Speaker 1: is motivation than there is second chance in this series.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Most importantly, there are blessings both giving and received. In
- 32:56Speaker 1: this series is voices of fire. Uh, the inspiration I'm
- 33:01Speaker 1: speaking to him here, He's an inspiration to me. I'm
- 33:03Speaker 1: a fan of his. He may not know it, but
- 33:05Speaker 1: now he knows it publicly that any time he has
- 33:08Speaker 1: a home and money making conversation, any platform I have,
- 33:11Speaker 1: so send me some banners. So when y'all air on
- 33:14Speaker 1: February six, I want to put it on all my
- 33:16Speaker 1: social media. When the single come out, please let me
- 33:19Speaker 1: know so I can post it on And then I
- 33:22Speaker 1: want to if I can get my my I called
- 33:24Speaker 1: my my trio, my three amigos, if I get him
- 33:27Speaker 1: on the show to talk together before February six, Let's
- 33:31Speaker 1: make that happen too, because they deserve but shine as
- 33:35Speaker 1: your game giving right now because they were the anchors
- 33:38Speaker 1: for you, and there were the blessings being able to
- 33:42Speaker 1: like when she took a lot of pulled her aside
- 33:45Speaker 1: and there's some extra work to get her to the
- 33:48Speaker 1: next level of her success. That's what you get out
- 33:50Speaker 1: of this series. You know, we got divorce, we got
- 33:54Speaker 1: the American Idol, just a different show just to show
- 33:59Speaker 1: about receiving and getting blessings testimonials because they are allowed
- 34:04Speaker 1: to tell the story. And my man, Bishop, you're blessing brother.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Thank you God, bless you man, and thanks for having
- 34:13Speaker 1: us on the show. We enjoyed it and and will
- 34:17Speaker 1: definitely make sure that our guys are part of it.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Whatever you want to do well well. First of all,
- 34:23Speaker 1: you noticed through to Sarity, when people come on to
- 34:25Speaker 1: the show, they always get caught off guard because I'm
- 34:27Speaker 1: such a sincere interviewer because I've been blessed man my life.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I've been doing the things I want to do in
- 34:33Speaker 1: my life, Sinse, I was eighteen years old, and it's
- 34:35Speaker 1: only through you know, proper relationships, proper opportunities, proper blessings,
- 34:40Speaker 1: proper understanding with God that is giving me taking advantage
- 34:43Speaker 1: of it. And that's what this serious is about. And
- 34:45Speaker 1: I can talk over and over about it, but you
- 34:47Speaker 1: gotta see that if you have doubts in your life
- 34:49Speaker 1: about what you want to achieve, if age has stopped you,
- 34:52Speaker 1: a handicap has stopped you, uh, the people around you
- 34:55Speaker 1: have stopped you, That's what it is about. It's let
- 34:57Speaker 1: you know that only you can stop yourself if God
- 35:01Speaker 1: gives you an opportunity to achieve. Step through that darkness
- 35:05Speaker 1: and there's light on the other side, and it's called opportunity.
- 35:08Speaker 1: And that's where voices so fires all about. Thank you
- 35:10Speaker 1: Bishop for coming on my show. Thank you God, blessed cool.
