- 1:45Speaker 1: My guest today is a master certified executive coach and
- 1:50Speaker 1: organizational psychologists. Please welcome to Money Making Conversations Masterclass, Doctor Cherry,
- 1:55Speaker 1: college girl. How you doing, doctor Cherry.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I'm doing, sir, with fantastic. How are you?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Because first of all, you know great having you on
- 2:04Speaker 1: the show. I'm sure in this world we live in
- 2:08Speaker 1: with this mental stress is motivation. People trying to have
- 2:11Speaker 1: a plan of success. What exactly is a master certified
- 2:15Speaker 1: executive coach.
- 2:18Speaker 2: What makes me a master certified coach is that I
- 2:21Speaker 2: went through all of the creditional link to make sure
- 2:24Speaker 2: that I don't just make up information, that I also
- 2:28Speaker 2: do it in the process that the International Coach Federation follows,
- 2:34Speaker 2: and also NLP, which is new or linguistic programming. So
- 2:39Speaker 2: what we do is we really help people get to
- 2:42Speaker 2: their goals, very much like what you're talking about, like
- 2:45Speaker 2: stop talking about it and be about it. So a
- 2:48Speaker 2: coach is there to motivate you, to inspire and really
- 2:53Speaker 2: to help you connect. But a lot of people wake
- 2:55Speaker 2: up in the morning and say, ooh, I'm a coach
- 2:57Speaker 2: and I'm like, why do you think so what everyone
- 3:02Speaker 2: wanted to do? And I said, well, that's not coaching
- 3:05Speaker 2: and so and if you want to do it, well
- 3:07Speaker 2: you need to go ahead and get the credential. And
- 3:09Speaker 2: that's what I did and I got it to the
- 3:11Speaker 2: highest level.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Well, you know when you when you and you're right,
- 3:14Speaker 1: there's so many people they just assume titles. They just
- 3:16Speaker 1: assume that I'm motivating people, I'm a mentoring people and
- 3:21Speaker 1: and it's really about the plan of action. So if
- 3:23Speaker 1: I came to you, doctor Jerry, and we're trying to
- 3:28Speaker 1: what states should I come to you to ask for
- 3:30Speaker 1: help as far as my career or my business or
- 3:34Speaker 1: my level of dream planning.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Well, so here's here's the thing. I can meet you
- 3:41Speaker 2: where you are, So wherever you are, I need you
- 3:44Speaker 2: to bring that human right what I What I am
- 3:48Speaker 2: is a person who knows the process. So you can
- 3:52Speaker 2: be an entrepreneur, you can be an executive, you could
- 3:56Speaker 2: even sometimes I work with with little people. It doesn't
- 3:59Speaker 2: matter what it is is. You have to have something
- 4:03Speaker 2: that you have decided that you need to work on.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And sometimes someone in organizations decide you have something that
- 4:10Speaker 2: you need to work on and I come in and
- 4:12Speaker 2: help now.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And you also have another title that I wanted to
- 4:15Speaker 1: bring out that I want to get some explanational organizational psychologists.
- 4:21Speaker 2: What is that? Yes, well, an organizational psychologists. So I
- 4:25Speaker 2: have a PAD from the University of Georgia double Dog,
- 4:28Speaker 2: Go Dogs. And I can't leave out Spellman because I
- 4:31Speaker 2: graduated from Spelman. That's where I started my psychology, so
- 4:34Speaker 2: I have a BA from there. I'm an organizational psychologist
- 4:38Speaker 2: really works on making sure that the people, the process,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and the technology all work together for the good. So
- 4:46Speaker 2: I work with organizations to help them really secure, inspire,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and to make sure that their absolute best resource, human resources,
- 4:58Speaker 2: are operating into their full potential.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So we are as an individual, you have you're an
- 5:04Speaker 1: executive coach, correct, and then under the organizational platform, you
- 5:12Speaker 1: can organize companies, you can organize nonprofits, you can organize
- 5:18Speaker 1: groups and make them more effective. When you come in,
- 5:22Speaker 1: what is is there a plan or it's like, oh,
- 5:24Speaker 1: we're shown this is a five point plan. I sit
- 5:26Speaker 1: down with an individual or company. Let's let's start on
- 5:29Speaker 1: the individual side. Because usually people kind of think they
- 5:33Speaker 1: know what they're doing and until you start pointing out,
- 5:36Speaker 1: this is what you should be doing, tell us about
- 5:38Speaker 1: that process.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Right. So, the very first thing we do is a
- 5:42Speaker 2: diagnostic and I think probably everyone says that they do it,
- 5:45Speaker 2: but our team we're behavioral scientists, and so we really
- 5:49Speaker 2: follow a scientific method, and so we start off really
- 5:53Speaker 2: testing and then testing our hypothesis against what's really happening
- 5:58Speaker 2: in the organization. Then we kind of perform a gap analysis.
- 6:02Speaker 2: We're saying, okay, what is the as is to Now
- 6:05Speaker 2: let's be real don't tell me that the situation is perfect,
- 6:09Speaker 2: and your booboo doesn't think tell me the truth and
- 6:13Speaker 2: where is it that you want to go? And so
- 6:15Speaker 2: what we do from there is we then start to
- 6:18Speaker 2: create a plan that's going to help you get there.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So some people like you, which I just really admire
- 6:26Speaker 2: the way that you has your information very Chris, and
- 6:29Speaker 2: you make it so that each individual person can really
- 6:34Speaker 2: grab it. What we found is for organizations and some people,
- 6:39Speaker 2: some people need a force that plan. Some people need
- 6:42Speaker 2: a five, some people need a eight. So what we
- 6:46Speaker 2: do is we customize based on what the need of
- 6:51Speaker 2: the individual and the organization is.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Well, you're the person I'm talking to, doctor Cherry Klier,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and the pole purpose of my show is to provide information.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I have people who are small business owners, have people
- 7:03Speaker 1: who are I have college students. I have people who
- 7:05Speaker 1: are you know, single moms, have people who are married,
- 7:08Speaker 1: have people who are in forty hour week jobs. I
- 7:10Speaker 1: have executives, I have scholar based people. And so what
- 7:15Speaker 1: I just try to do when I bring an individual
- 7:17Speaker 1: like you on the show is let give people options.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think it's important, doctor Charity. People here there are
- 7:23Speaker 1: options to be successful and it's not a one plan,
- 7:27Speaker 1: a cookie cutter plan. And so, like you said, Rashan,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I didn't want to just have the title of coach.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I wanted to authorize peoplework that said, this is why
- 7:36Speaker 1: you should be talking to me, this is the process.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Does a frustrate you that people are just out there
- 7:41Speaker 1: just you know, just throwing up a shingle saying I'm
- 7:44Speaker 1: a coach.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It doesn't frustrate me. I will tell you what does though.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It frustrates me that people a lot of times talk
- 7:54Speaker 2: about systemic racism, and they talk about systems and processes,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but they don't recognize the part that we can actually
- 8:02Speaker 2: do to change it. So in my company, my company
- 8:06Speaker 2: is a multimillion dollar company and we make money, and
- 8:09Speaker 2: a lot of the people that I am required to
- 8:14Speaker 2: offer the services too, or who will deliver my services
- 8:18Speaker 2: as consultants and coaches, don't look like me, because a
- 8:24Speaker 2: lot of people who look like me aren't certified to
- 8:28Speaker 2: the level that we need to be certified. So it
- 8:30Speaker 2: doesn't mean you don't have the skill set, and it
- 8:33Speaker 2: doesn't mean that you're not amazing because I had a
- 8:35Speaker 2: PhD from the University of Georgia. You know, a Tier
- 8:38Speaker 2: and one research school before I became a coach, and truthfully,
- 8:43Speaker 2: my coaching program probably didn't add a whole lot to
- 8:47Speaker 2: what I do. But if there is a process that
- 8:50Speaker 2: people are saying, this is what you need to get
- 8:54Speaker 2: this done, then I need you to have that in
- 8:59Speaker 2: order to bring you interview organizations that are paying to
- 9:03Speaker 2: do this work.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Right. Listen, this is money making conversations. Mastercalized. And you
- 9:08Speaker 1: said the magic word, doctor Callier, multimillion dollar company. Okay,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and you mentioned you what is your company? And Jesus,
- 9:17Speaker 1: we have time talk about the staff and their purpose
- 9:20Speaker 1: and how individuals come to your place for business.
- 9:24Speaker 2: So my company is called Personality Matter. It's because we
- 9:27Speaker 2: know that personality matters everywhere. And we were number nine
- 9:32Speaker 2: on the Bulldog one hundred out of one hundred companies
- 9:35Speaker 2: who were number nine And to give you some an idea,
- 9:38Speaker 2: Mark Spain, who is a guy who was on television
- 9:41Speaker 2: all the time, we was twenty three and our company
- 9:43Speaker 2: was number nine. So we were in the top ten
- 9:47Speaker 2: for what we're doing and able to do. Organizations and
- 9:52Speaker 2: individuals signed us when they have gaps and they are
- 9:56Speaker 2: literally trying to figure out how can I help my
- 9:59Speaker 2: people deliver. How can I help my people really move
- 10:02Speaker 2: to the next level, really connect, whether it's well being,
- 10:07Speaker 2: understand what we call rise and so rise. We want
- 10:11Speaker 2: people to rise up. I love the Falcons. I'm hoping
- 10:14Speaker 2: one day they'll do it as well. But it's it's relational, interpersonal, social,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and emotional and so we are using the different sciences
- 10:25Speaker 2: that exist to really help people understand how to connect
- 10:29Speaker 2: inside and out. And that's that's what we do. So
- 10:33Speaker 2: people just find us from our pastwork. That's how they
- 10:37Speaker 2: found us.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Well, hopefully they find you through my show Money Making
- 10:40Speaker 1: Conversation Masterclass. I'm talking to doctor Collier, Cherry Colliers, she's
- 10:44Speaker 1: a master certified executive coach and organizational psychologists. Now, the
- 10:49Speaker 1: science of connection and I call it relationships. Maybe that
- 10:53Speaker 1: may be maybe. I mean that's how I've lived my life.
- 10:55Speaker 1: My life has been tied to relationships. I always tell people,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you know that you know you because you're going to fall.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You're going to fall, and you're going to need an
- 11:02Speaker 1: assystem that you're going to Losso if you don't fall,
- 11:05Speaker 1: you're gonna need somebody to sometimes open the door for you.
- 11:08Speaker 1: What exactly is the science of connections.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Well, the science of connection is it's really rooted in
- 11:16Speaker 2: the theme of never bark alone. And if you find
- 11:19Speaker 2: yourself somewhere and you're the only person that's saying whatever
- 11:23Speaker 2: it is you're saying, then it's probably not going to
- 11:26Speaker 2: be heard and the way that you need it to
- 11:28Speaker 2: be heard. So what you really have, what we have
- 11:31Speaker 2: to do, is to build relationships. And relationships are just
- 11:35Speaker 2: truly important, just like what you're saying and what you
- 11:38Speaker 2: do so darned well is you reach people, You touch people,
- 11:43Speaker 2: you don't ask for anything in return. You're like, how
- 11:46Speaker 2: can I help you? And that's what the science of
- 11:49Speaker 2: connection is, how can we connect at that intersection to
- 11:53Speaker 2: make it better for all people and ourselves.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And it's so funny. That's how we met doctor Carlier
- 11:58Speaker 1: and I met that We did a lunch for the
- 12:00Speaker 1: Atlanta Housing and it was about trying to get into
- 12:03Speaker 1: that world and that that that contracting word, that RFP
- 12:07Speaker 1: world that is out there. And she sat down and
- 12:09Speaker 1: she started talking to me and she went like, Okay, okay,
- 12:12Speaker 1: how do how do we do this? And it was
- 12:14Speaker 1: a sense of like is there some fees or there?
- 12:18Speaker 1: And she said, who did I talk to the book.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I said, you're talking to the person you would laugh,
- 12:24Speaker 1: She said you. I said, yeah, because I'd like to
- 12:26Speaker 1: know who I'm talking because I used to have an
- 12:28Speaker 1: agency that did this. They they they booked people doctor
- 12:33Speaker 1: Caryer and they've sit in front of me and I go,
- 12:36Speaker 1: who are these people I'm talking to? To myself? You know,
- 12:38Speaker 1: the interviews went well, but I was frustrated because I
- 12:41Speaker 1: didn't have a sense of purpose when I was talking
- 12:43Speaker 1: to you. And so when I was talking to you,
- 12:44Speaker 1: it was eating lunch and I was like, I was saying,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you need to be on my show. I said, because
- 12:49Speaker 1: of the fact that you're unique in your skill set,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but you needed in the black community, which doesn't know
- 12:56Speaker 1: about you because we're always the last to be aware
- 13:00Speaker 1: technology AI. Now we're talking about certified executive coaching and
- 13:07Speaker 1: organizational psychologists. You have a company that nobody knows about it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Personality matters, and guess what they need to know about
- 13:14Speaker 1: it because we are the fast the last group of
- 13:17Speaker 1: people to go get therapy, you know, to admit we
- 13:21Speaker 1: have emotional problems, mental breakdowns. We need assistance. That's the
- 13:26Speaker 1: part that I try to bring to the show. There's
- 13:28Speaker 1: so many layers to success, and when you get successful,
- 13:32Speaker 1: that's when the stress comes.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Correct absolutely, and that's when you also need that team
- 13:39Speaker 2: and you need that connection on those connection points. And
- 13:42Speaker 2: it is so important for me. And so I have
- 13:46Speaker 2: a mentor, doctor Greg Repentanten, that I actually met when
- 13:49Speaker 2: I was a student at Sellman. You know, people don't
- 13:52Speaker 2: recognize when people come in and do those career day events,
- 13:57Speaker 2: those individuals can have a lasting impression. Just like when
- 14:00Speaker 2: I saw you, I take the opportunity to still to
- 14:03Speaker 2: speak and say hello and make those make those connections
- 14:08Speaker 2: with doctor Pennington. He has a group of coaches, African
- 14:13Speaker 2: American coaches, people of color coaches right, And what I
- 14:18Speaker 2: am working on is making sure that we get certified
- 14:22Speaker 2: so that we can also do the work that we're doing,
- 14:25Speaker 2: but also get the level of respect and that money
- 14:30Speaker 2: that is out there for us.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Right when we come back, we're going to go to break.
- 14:35Speaker 1: We're going to talk about the challenges in today's workplace.
- 14:38Speaker 1: We're going to talk about the challenges faced by black women.
- 14:41Speaker 1: We're going to talk about the role of rise and
- 14:43Speaker 1: overcoming valuers. That's a relational, interpersonal, social, and emotional intelligence.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Don't go nowhere please, this is money Making Conversation master
- 14:53Speaker 1: Class and I'm speaking to doctor Cherry Callier.
- 15:04Speaker 3: We'll be right back with more money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 15:07Speaker 3: with Rashawn McDonald. Welcome back to the Money Making Conversations
- 15:19Speaker 3: Masterclass hosted by Rashaan McDonald. Money Making Conversations Masterclass continues
- 15:24Speaker 3: online at Moneymakingconversations dot com and follow money Making Conversations
- 15:29Speaker 3: Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- 15:33Speaker 1: How can you be successful? That's where coaching comes in.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I guess personality matters. She founded that company, is a
- 15:41Speaker 1: multi million dollar company. She's a doctor, Cherio Collier. When
- 15:47Speaker 1: someone comes to you, doctor Chery Collier, you know, do
- 15:50Speaker 1: people come to you in low moments or they come
- 15:53Speaker 1: to you frustrated? Or am I just saying those are
- 15:56Speaker 1: two extremes that you like you said, you just want
- 15:59Speaker 1: them to come to you, right.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Right? Yeah, So I think it's important that you come period.
- 16:07Speaker 2: And when people are low, that's when they tend to
- 16:12Speaker 2: isolate themselves, and some people will, you know, kind of
- 16:15Speaker 2: reach out. Mostly people that are moving in the right
- 16:20Speaker 2: direction are people who start to look for help. It's
- 16:23Speaker 2: important to me that people come to me wherever they are,
- 16:27Speaker 2: knowing that we're going to need to where you are
- 16:30Speaker 2: and help you to really start to think about where
- 16:34Speaker 2: you need to be. And for us, like you speak
- 16:37Speaker 2: about money making, we see it as a currency, money
- 16:41Speaker 2: as a bridge, as a facilitator, the social paths, the
- 16:45Speaker 2: social networks, all of these different currencies that people need
- 16:50Speaker 2: to be successful. And so wherever you are, we want
- 16:52Speaker 2: to help you understand what is necessary and what's necessary.
- 16:59Speaker 1: You know, it's really interesting my show because you know,
- 17:01Speaker 1: I have doctors on the show, I have mental health
- 17:03Speaker 1: individuals on the show like I have for you. People say,
- 17:05Speaker 1: how's that about money making? How's that about money making?
- 17:08Speaker 1: You got to have your act together first of all,
- 17:10Speaker 1: health wise, mental, organizational, and that's why you're on the show. Organization.
- 17:14Speaker 1: You got to be organized. You got to have you
- 17:16Speaker 1: walk in that door. And a lot of people always
- 17:18Speaker 1: tell people like I get up at four thirty money
- 17:21Speaker 1: through Friday. I get up at four thirty, and people say,
- 17:23Speaker 1: ain't getting up at no four thirty. I'm not asking
- 17:25Speaker 1: you to get it at four thirty. I'm just asking
- 17:26Speaker 1: you to pick a time. And if pick a time
- 17:28Speaker 1: should not be tied to the snooze button. In other words,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you say you're gonna get up at six button go off,
- 17:34Speaker 1: You're gonna hit it for a few more minutes to
- 17:36Speaker 1: stay in bed. That is not picking the time. That
- 17:39Speaker 1: is not planning a pathway to success. Picking the time
- 17:44Speaker 1: is what doctor Cherry Colly is talking about. Being organized,
- 17:47Speaker 1: being able to let outline strategic plans that you can
- 17:51Speaker 1: keep in place. That's what personality matters. It's all about,
- 17:54Speaker 1: and we talk about that. Let's enter into the challenges
- 17:58Speaker 1: in today's workplace. It's not when I was in the
- 18:01Speaker 1: workplace in IBM. I'm about today's because technology has changed
- 18:05Speaker 1: the game, you know, because of the fact that you
- 18:07Speaker 1: have a cell phone. Used to be you know, I
- 18:10Speaker 1: grew up. When I first got my job, it was
- 18:12Speaker 1: ruduy Dowe telephone, you know what I'm saying. Then they
- 18:15Speaker 1: got pushbuton phones, and then they got to the page
- 18:18Speaker 1: you're in the sidekick, and now they got the cell phones.
- 18:21Speaker 1: So the workplace has changed. Talk to us about that.
- 18:24Speaker 1: How you have to overcome the drama of today's workplace.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Well, I think it starts with a mindset and very
- 18:33Speaker 2: much like you're talking about, you have to know your
- 18:35Speaker 2: intention and every day if your intention is not to
- 18:39Speaker 2: get upset as long as Lulu doesn't come my ways,
- 18:42Speaker 2: and you're not in control of your own mindset. And
- 18:45Speaker 2: so we really help people to start to take true
- 18:50Speaker 2: control of their lives. And if you're thinking about your
- 18:53Speaker 2: snooze button being the person or the thing that is
- 18:57Speaker 2: making the decisions, you have to make some changes and
- 19:02Speaker 2: change is inevitable, and so you want to be in
- 19:04Speaker 2: control of when you're waking up. And one of the
- 19:07Speaker 2: things I always say is the early bird is not
- 19:09Speaker 2: the only one that's going to get the warm, But
- 19:11Speaker 2: you got to figure out what warm it is that
- 19:13Speaker 2: you were that you want and you need. Because I'm
- 19:16Speaker 2: a night person and I work many, many, many hours
- 19:21Speaker 2: of the day, and I work with people globally, so
- 19:24Speaker 2: my company isn't just in America, where we're global. And
- 19:27Speaker 2: currently I'm in Houston, which is my one of my
- 19:30Speaker 2: second homes, and I love that this is where you
- 19:33Speaker 2: are as well. But the biggest idea for us is
- 19:38Speaker 2: to start to think about every day what we want
- 19:42Speaker 2: and to hold ourselves accountable to creating a plan.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And it's really important what you're saying, you know, because
- 19:49Speaker 1: you anti snows button too. And people always ask me,
- 19:51Speaker 1: this doctor call you four thirty, what time you go
- 19:54Speaker 1: to bed? I say, hey, hey see I don't need
- 19:57Speaker 1: I don't it's what time I get up. Now, I'm
- 20:00Speaker 1: gonna just tell you this. I go to bed sometimes
- 20:02Speaker 1: at midnight one o'clock, but I still get up at
- 20:05Speaker 1: four thirty because that's the time I'm supposed to get up.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And I realized when I made that commitment to go
- 20:09Speaker 1: to bed at twelve thirty or one o'clock, it cannot
- 20:13Speaker 1: alter my overall plan for success. See. See that's what
- 20:18Speaker 1: people try to do. It just try to slide that plan.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You can't slide a plan when you say this is
- 20:23Speaker 1: how you're going to be successful. So if you at
- 20:26Speaker 1: a meeting or you someplace that calls our plane lands late, okay,
- 20:30Speaker 1: it causes you to well not get that six hours,
- 20:33Speaker 1: maybe not get that four hours, that should not be
- 20:36Speaker 1: a detriment to how your next day should go. And
- 20:40Speaker 1: when I also tell this doctor carry I always tell people,
- 20:43Speaker 1: don't bring your drama into my world. If you havn't
- 20:46Speaker 1: a bad day, don't put your bad day talk to
- 20:48Speaker 1: us about.
- 20:48Speaker 2: That, right. And it's important that we recognize if you
- 20:53Speaker 2: think about, you know, pointing a finger, one is pointing
- 20:58Speaker 2: at whatever that situation is, but three are pointing back
- 21:01Speaker 2: at you. You are ultimately responsible for making those decisions.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And so I don't walk around saying he may be mad,
- 21:09Speaker 2: she may be mad. I walk around saying, hey, what
- 21:11Speaker 2: is it that you want to do me? Because I
- 21:14Speaker 2: want to take responsibility for everything. And so that is
- 21:18Speaker 2: the biggest thing, learning to take responsibility. I heard someone say,
- 21:22Speaker 2: if someone knocked you down, is their fault. If I
- 21:24Speaker 2: stay down, it's my fault. I'm not going to stay down.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And so I understand believe in you know that the
- 21:32Speaker 2: need to People can get depressed, and people are depressed.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I get that, but it is some there are things
- 21:40Speaker 2: that you can do. A body at rest, whether they say,
- 21:43Speaker 2: stays at rest, while a body in motion stays in motion.
- 21:46Speaker 2: And you have to get emotion. And when you're emotion,
- 21:48Speaker 2: for Sean, you need to be in motion with people
- 21:51Speaker 2: who are going in the direction that you want to go.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Some folks they not going where you're going. You gotta
- 21:58Speaker 2: leave them. You got to love them, but you got
- 22:00Speaker 2: to leave them.
- 22:01Speaker 1: See see Nazi doctor Kaye. See she know my show. Now,
- 22:04Speaker 1: see do you hear that energy in our voice? You
- 22:06Speaker 1: dropping them nuggets on you know, you know, stay down,
- 22:10Speaker 1: get up? How you get up? Because that's how I think.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That's what the whole purpose of this shows, for people
- 22:16Speaker 1: to understand that you can victimize your own success based
- 22:20Speaker 1: on how you think and how much effort you put
- 22:22Speaker 1: into it. Now, there is something we wrap up the show.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Because you're an African Erican woman, a woman of color,
- 22:27Speaker 1: there are specific challenges that black women face in the
- 22:31Speaker 1: work environment. Tell us about that.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Well, listen, I can go on and on and on
- 22:38Speaker 2: about the challenges I faced. The I just choose not to.
- 22:41Speaker 2: It's not even worth it. I would rather figure out
- 22:45Speaker 2: the solutions. I mean, it's clear systematic racism and all
- 22:50Speaker 2: of those things exist, and I want to say that
- 22:53Speaker 2: I think that we make them some choices based on
- 22:58Speaker 2: past promise that we shouldn't. So there are some really
- 23:01Speaker 2: good people out there, of all racist genders and everything,
- 23:05Speaker 2: and so just because one person did something to us,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I like for us to move past it. So learn
- 23:13Speaker 2: what you need to learn, but also don't play that
- 23:17Speaker 2: victim card on everyone. And I think it's really important
- 23:21Speaker 2: that we really reach out to all people. There are people.
- 23:25Speaker 2: If you think about Martin Luther King, when you go
- 23:28Speaker 2: back and look at the videos, Martin Luther King didn't
- 23:30Speaker 2: only have black people marching with him. He had all
- 23:33Speaker 2: types of people. And that's what we really need in
- 23:36Speaker 2: our life. We need all people. And being a black
- 23:40Speaker 2: woman who a graduate of Spelman, one of the greatest
- 23:43Speaker 2: gifts of my life is to know that I have strong,
- 23:46Speaker 2: amazing sisters who support me. And you got to get
- 23:49Speaker 2: yourself a village and stop barking alone. Period. Get a village,
- 23:54Speaker 2: find people who are going in your direction and get
- 23:57Speaker 2: up and go with them.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Got my sign. You got me motivated here, doctor Callyer.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out where you're gonna point me
- 24:06Speaker 1: to march now because we marching now. We marching because
- 24:08Speaker 1: we're marching for a cause, and the cause is motivating people,
- 24:12Speaker 1: Doctor Callyer in the direction of a personal work, personal
- 24:19Speaker 1: f an effort. I love that about somebody knocking you down.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It's like, how when you're gonna get up because you're
- 24:25Speaker 1: gonna get knocked down all the time. I tell people
- 24:27Speaker 1: all the time. You know, it was really interesting. I
- 24:29Speaker 1: was talking to a friend of mine and you know,
- 24:32Speaker 1: you know, as you go through life here you know,
- 24:34Speaker 1: your teens, your twenties, your thirties, you have points of success.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Now it's that longevity. What is that? What success you
- 24:44Speaker 1: had in your twenties looks like in your thirties, what
- 24:47Speaker 1: looks like in your forties, looks like in your fifties
- 24:49Speaker 1: and the sixties. Because that's what success is all about.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Success is not a couple of years. Success is not
- 24:56Speaker 1: five years. Success is a career of paying decades. What
- 25:00Speaker 1: are you doing with that? Because you're going to be successful,
- 25:04Speaker 1: how do you lengthen that level of success? And when
- 25:08Speaker 1: I talk to you about being an organizational culture, the
- 25:11Speaker 1: name of your business being personality matters, which allows right there,
- 25:17Speaker 1: you go to the business, you know exactly what she's
- 25:19Speaker 1: talking about. She's letting you know. This is all about you.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Correct to call you, it's all about you. And I
- 25:28Speaker 2: think it's important that we understand that success is less
- 25:32Speaker 2: about progress and speed, and it's more about the direction
- 25:35Speaker 2: that you choose. And so every one of us, we're
- 25:38Speaker 2: all one in individuals, but we want to be common copies.
- 25:42Speaker 2: And so you can't do what I do. You can't
- 25:46Speaker 2: do or rishond does, but you can't do amazing and
- 25:49Speaker 2: what you do figures that out. What is it that
- 25:52Speaker 2: you want to do today? And that's what I help
- 25:55Speaker 2: people understand. Personality matters, and your personality is going to
- 26:00Speaker 2: take you into any room and on your knees. I'm
- 26:05Speaker 2: walking around and helping you to be successful.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Wow. How can we get in touch with you? Doctor

- 26:33Speaker 1: all all the stuff she did. I'm telling you her
- 26:35Speaker 1: personality sat down at my lunch table. I was by
- 26:39Speaker 1: myself and we.

- 26:48Speaker 1: you how it's done.

- 26:52Speaker 1: and guess what, she's on my show. That's how it worked, y'all.
- 26:55Speaker 1: That's how it works. If you don't make an effort,
- 26:58Speaker 1: if you don't make an introduction, if you don't sit
- 27:00Speaker 1: over and say, this is my value that I can
- 27:03Speaker 1: bring to your brand. Guess what you'll be standing outside
