- 0:03Speaker 1: Y'all know what time to y'all don't know, y'all bag
- 0:11Speaker 1: looking back to back down, giving them just like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Milican buck buck things. And it's tough y'all to me,
- 0:19Speaker 1: true good to tea the hardy guy and listening to
- 0:24Speaker 1: me toach other for stoop to handley. Why don't you
- 0:38Speaker 1: join yeah by joining me? Honey, sat down? Turn yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 1: you go do you You gotta turn to turn out
- 1:42Speaker 1: turn you love you got to turn out to turn water,
- 1:47Speaker 1: want to go comy, come on your thad. But it
- 2:00Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey got a ready of the show man
- 2:04Speaker 1: instead of trying to be about the business. To y'all,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I'm i'm, I'm I'm doing all I can. But you
- 2:11Speaker 1: know what's crazy in the efforts that I make, I
- 2:15Speaker 1: can do more. And my father used to tell me
- 2:19Speaker 1: something when I was growing up. He says, son, when
- 2:23Speaker 1: you've done your best and you've done all you can,
- 2:29Speaker 1: sit still for a second and just do a little
- 2:33Speaker 1: bit more. Always remember that, he said. When you've done
- 2:37Speaker 1: the best you can and you can done all you
- 2:40Speaker 1: can think of, he say, sit still for a minute
- 2:43Speaker 1: and do some more. And you know what I've discovered
- 2:46Speaker 1: in my life always have a little more. I ain't
- 2:49Speaker 1: ever just out out out completely. I can't take another step.
- 2:54Speaker 1: There ain't another breath in me, There ain't there ain't
- 2:56Speaker 1: another thought I can produce. I'm never completely out, man.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Just take a rest for a minute, man, and then
- 3:04Speaker 1: just do a little bit more. And that that. I
- 3:08Speaker 1: can't tell you how many times that's helped me get
- 3:11Speaker 1: over the top. You know. I was watching a documentary
- 3:15Speaker 1: about people climbing Mount Everest and how difficult climbing Mount
- 3:18Speaker 1: Everest was and how they have on the hill, uh
- 3:24Speaker 1: something called like a death zone or killing zone where
- 3:28Speaker 1: the majority of people run out of oxygen and they
- 3:30Speaker 1: have to turn back. Well, what's crazy is it is
- 3:35Speaker 1: right in view of the summit. You can actually see
- 3:39Speaker 1: the top of Mount Efforts from there. But it's but
- 3:43Speaker 1: it's that little bit that's left that's this most difficult.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Now that I forgot all the reasons why they said
- 3:49Speaker 1: most people don't make it from there, and more people
- 3:51Speaker 1: have lost their lives in that area. I don't know
- 3:54Speaker 1: what it is, but the people that make it to
- 3:58Speaker 1: the top of Mount Efforts, they all had to go
- 4:02Speaker 1: through that same zone or that same area, but they
- 4:07Speaker 1: had a little bit more that allowed them to get
- 4:09Speaker 1: to the top. You know a lot of people have
- 4:12Speaker 1: had accidents up there trying that, so I'm not even
- 4:15Speaker 1: really sure if Mount Everest analogy is a good one.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But let's just break it down a little bit more.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Let's just talk about life. There's a poem I learned,
- 4:26Speaker 1: uh back when I host pledge in. It's called don't Quit.
- 4:30Speaker 1: The authors are unknown, but the poem was called don't Quit,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and I had to memorize it. I memorize this poem
- 4:43Speaker 1: when I was eighteen nineteen, but the poem stayed in
- 4:47Speaker 1: my head. I'm gonna try to remember it right now.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm say it for you. But there's a stanza in
- 4:53Speaker 1: it that talks about how many a fellow has turned
- 4:58Speaker 1: about when he might have won had he suck it out.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So don't give up. Though the pace seems slow, you
- 5:05Speaker 1: may succeed with another blow. You know. That's a stanza
- 5:09Speaker 1: that always sticks out in my mind. I'm gonna say
- 5:13Speaker 1: I can memorize one whole of right, Okay, this is
- 5:15Speaker 1: the point. There's the author is unknown. The name of
- 5:17Speaker 1: the pointment is don't quit. It goes like this, if
- 5:20Speaker 1: I make a mistake, I'm just trying to drump it up.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So here we go, it says when things go wrong,
- 5:26Speaker 1: as they sometimes will, when the road you're trudging seems
- 5:29Speaker 1: all uphill, when your funds are low and your debts
- 5:34Speaker 1: are high, when you want to smile, but you have
- 5:38Speaker 1: to sigh when cares are pressing you down. A bit,
- 5:42Speaker 1: rest if you must, but don't quit, for life is
- 5:46Speaker 1: queer with his twist and turns, as every one of
- 5:49Speaker 1: us must sometimes learn. And many a fellow has turned
- 5:53Speaker 1: about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So don't give up. Though the pace seems slow. You
- 6:01Speaker 1: may succeed with another blow. Often the gold is nearer
- 6:07Speaker 1: than it seems to a faint and a faltering man.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And often the struggler has given up when he might
- 6:15Speaker 1: have captured the victor's cup, and he learns too late,
- 6:19Speaker 1: when the night came down, how close he was to
- 6:23Speaker 1: the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out. It's
- 6:30Speaker 1: your silver tent of your clouds of doubt, and you
- 6:34Speaker 1: never can tell how close you are. It. Maybe kneel
- 6:38Speaker 1: when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when
- 6:43Speaker 1: your hardest hits, When things seem worse that you mustn't quit. Okay,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I remember that cool. I remember it because I had
- 6:54Speaker 1: a special method of helping you remember stuff back then,
- 6:57Speaker 1: but I remembered it at that point. Him right there
- 7:00Speaker 1: has kept me a lot of times. You know, if
- 7:04Speaker 1: we often talk about scripture and everything, and I don't,
- 7:07Speaker 1: I don't see how I could live without it. But
- 7:10Speaker 1: every now and then, man, somebody has a writing. God
- 7:12Speaker 1: puts a writing on somebody's hard that delivers a message. Man,
- 7:16Speaker 1: that can help people. I use every motivational tool that
- 7:19Speaker 1: I possibly can to climb this letter of success or
- 7:23Speaker 1: try to be the best father and the best husband
- 7:25Speaker 1: I can be. I've done a lot of changing over
- 7:27Speaker 1: the years, and so have you. But change is necessary
- 7:30Speaker 1: in order to grow. If you don't make changes, folks,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you can't grow. I was a young man on my set.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I kept looking at him, and a sharp little young
- 7:40Speaker 1: dude just on my set, and he had these dreads
- 7:45Speaker 1: and I mean they were they were super long, man,
- 7:48Speaker 1: they will well below the middle of his back. I
- 7:51Speaker 1: mean it was just long. And he kept talking to me,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and he kept talking to me and talking to me. Now,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I know somebody's gonna take this the wrong way. But
- 7:58Speaker 1: this is my story, so you know, feel how you
- 8:01Speaker 1: want to feel. Already know the emails is coming. You're
- 8:03Speaker 1: talking about it. So your man kept talking to him,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and I said, hey, man, you know you do your
- 8:09Speaker 1: here a huge self of favor in the business you
- 8:11Speaker 1: and if you got a haircut, you would do yourself
- 8:14Speaker 1: a huge favor. I said, your images everything, Man, I said,
- 8:17Speaker 1: you keep stopping me in the hallway to try to
- 8:19Speaker 1: tell me what you're doing, what you are, but all
- 8:21Speaker 1: I see is your hair, and I keep trying to
- 8:24Speaker 1: figure out what you're doing with all that hair. Man,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Now you can feel how you want to feel. But
- 8:29Speaker 1: I'm like an employer. I employed people. So when I'm
- 8:33Speaker 1: walking through the hallway and I try to think of
- 8:35Speaker 1: you traveling me with me, and you're sitting in a
- 8:37Speaker 1: meeting with me, I try to imagine you in your
- 8:40Speaker 1: suit sitting there talking business with me. And so, just
- 8:43Speaker 1: like other employers are, I'm just having a real story
- 8:46Speaker 1: with you. So I said, man, you are to consider
- 8:49Speaker 1: cutting your hair. He said, mad Mr Harve, I've been
- 8:52Speaker 1: growing his hair sounds a little boy. I said, how
- 8:55Speaker 1: old are you now? He said? I said, well, how
- 8:59Speaker 1: long you want to hang on to what you was
- 9:00Speaker 1: when you was a little bored. You know, if you
- 9:03Speaker 1: started growing your hair when you're a teenager. I mean
- 9:05Speaker 1: you're twenty eight now what we and I said, so
- 9:08Speaker 1: let me help you understand something. Let me let me
- 9:10Speaker 1: ask you something. What does it do for you? He say,
- 9:13Speaker 1: it's just who I am. It's I said, so you
- 9:17Speaker 1: your have He said no, no, But it's a part
- 9:21Speaker 1: of me. I say, that part of you that you're
- 9:24Speaker 1: hanging onto. What does it do for you? I just
- 9:27Speaker 1: like it? Well, dog, I like ice cream, but I
- 9:31Speaker 1: feed that. But if I hang on ice cream and
- 9:33Speaker 1: eat ice cream every single day, my body gonna reflect that.
- 9:38Speaker 1: What is it that you hanging on to that you
- 9:41Speaker 1: don't want to let go of? That's prohibiting you from
- 9:43Speaker 1: being what all you can be? See, it's hard to
- 9:46Speaker 1: be what all you can be if you want to
- 9:48Speaker 1: keep being all you was? Don't that make sense to you?
- 9:53Speaker 1: So I'm I can't tell you how many times I've
- 9:55Speaker 1: had to change. Change is necessary to grow. You can't
- 10:00Speaker 1: be all you can be if you want to keep
- 10:04Speaker 1: hanging on to all you was. That don't make no sense.
- 10:09Speaker 1: How do you go forward? If you keep going backwards.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You can't stay here and go there. Do you understand
- 10:17Speaker 1: that if you want to go over there, you must
- 10:21Speaker 1: remove yourself from right here? Oh? I got right here
- 10:26Speaker 1: is comfortable. I got right here is safe. But over
- 10:29Speaker 1: there's where the shade is. Over There's where the fruit is.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Over there is where the opportunity is. Over there is
- 10:38Speaker 1: where the mountain of goal is. So why are you
- 10:41Speaker 1: stuck on here? You got to leave here to go
- 10:45Speaker 1: over there. You can't be all you can be if
- 10:49Speaker 1: you want to stay stuck on who you was. Changes.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Growth is necessary. Let's go. You're listening minutes to that
- 11:00Speaker 1: our twenty one minutes after that hour to Steve Harvey
- 11:02Speaker 1: Morning Show. Yeah, man, Shirley Strawberry, Hey, good morning, Happy Friday, Steve,
- 11:10Speaker 1: call it for real? Hello, crew, how are you doing
- 11:13Speaker 1: with Julie? Morning up? Man? Same time? Tommy? What's going on?
- 11:19Speaker 1: My dog? What's up on? Food? Brow? What up? Steve?
- 11:25Speaker 1: What up? All day? All day and all day all
- 11:31Speaker 1: ignorant and uh, just a little taste of what the
- 11:35Speaker 1: day is gonna be back, j Did you just call
- 11:37Speaker 1: me Steve? Yes, sir, Well it's gonna be Mr Harvey
- 11:42Speaker 1: from that from now we're gonna address you a little
- 11:49Speaker 1: bit later. Where that's what you like? No, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah yeah. We're gonna address it later, but
- 11:56Speaker 1: we're gonna start now, Mr Harvey. Is that just for Jay?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Excuse me, Steve? I would saying, Man, you just called me.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I was saying, we'll see what I was saying. Is
- 12:12Speaker 1: that just for you? Whoa oh that memo? Okay, okay,
- 12:19Speaker 1: Mr Harvey, Okay, all right now wow Mr Harvey, hunh
- 12:30Speaker 1: we just hurt you an allowed at you've been off
- 12:40Speaker 1: of all my life. At eight forty one, be listening
- 12:45Speaker 1: to this show. At eight forty one, Mr Harvey will
- 12:51Speaker 1: be issuing a statement, Steve, I mean, Mr Harvey, wait
- 12:56Speaker 1: to go? Oh y'all Steve us Harvey us So at one,
- 13:04Speaker 1: what's going to happen? Oh no, A little surprised. I
- 13:08Speaker 1: don't even want to say a statement because you really
- 13:10Speaker 1: don't deserve addressing. Book says, everybody like to talk lie, mixed,
- 13:18Speaker 1: confused the truth. You know, the internet is an amazing
- 13:21Speaker 1: place right now, So any little coward can just put
- 13:24Speaker 1: aloud there and then just make it and then just
- 13:26Speaker 1: bleeding story. We're gonna unbleed something at eight for the
- 13:32Speaker 1: unblending had So are you? Are you uncle? Mr? Harvey?
- 13:38Speaker 1: How do I do? Mr? Uncle? Ruster? Alcoholvey? You Mr Uncle?
- 13:44Speaker 1: You know what? Like that? But it's taken too much,
- 13:47Speaker 1: so I'm gonna go with on. Yeah, let me stay
- 13:52Speaker 1: with Jay. You can find another way to call me something.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You're gonna have to get a little bit more formal.
- 13:59Speaker 1: All this frett ship we have say something like my
- 14:07Speaker 1: no oh, I got a name for you, Mrs. A
- 14:17Speaker 1: lot of syllables, but it got missed in the front.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I'll take what I bet it might not be another
- 14:31Speaker 1: he there. Alright, coming up, we got something funny Mother's
- 14:36Speaker 1: Days this weekend. We'll talk about that when we come back.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, we're
- 14:45Speaker 1: back because Mother's Day weekend this weekend. Just the one
- 14:50Speaker 1: right here, just the one who counts. Yeah, yeah, got
- 14:55Speaker 1: my mama son, where'd you get her? She got a lot?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Spend your money on MoMA? Mama laid always you always
- 15:03Speaker 1: do my money go out mom. Yeah. Now let me
- 15:07Speaker 1: ask you all, this is my first time with it.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Can you overdo mama and not give wife the same?
- 15:13Speaker 1: I mean, does that does that create a problem. You don't.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Don't let them know that you did that. Yeah, but
- 15:20Speaker 1: my mamma gonna let her. No, MoMA gonna tell it.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Mama gonna stunt you equal the same? How do you
- 15:29Speaker 1: do that? You're gonna get your mama and your wife
- 15:33Speaker 1: the same thing? No, no, no, no, I didn't say that.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I say but you always spend a lot on my mom. This,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you know. So I'm trying to figure out. Am I
- 15:40Speaker 1: supposed to spend the same amount or even more on
- 15:42Speaker 1: your wife? How? How are you supposed to do that?
- 15:44Speaker 1: You gotta come correct them both. But yeah, you can't
- 15:48Speaker 1: change your wife and just a load on your mom.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You can't do that by your mama house. Yeah, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: your wife. Yeah, change your wife. See what happened to you? Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you can't. You cannot get your wife a something that's
- 16:11Speaker 1: not personal. It has to be personal or vacuuming like that.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Oh no, no, you cannot get I wish you would
- 16:21Speaker 1: some even if you need one. You can't get it.
- 16:26Speaker 1: What am I gonna do with some pots? Well? You yeah?
- 16:28Speaker 1: But you yeah, you'ohing with no pots? Taking the graduation
- 16:36Speaker 1: and bringing together with somebody walking. Yeah, no appliances you're right, Steve.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Now the rule iss with my mom because my mom
- 16:45Speaker 1: loved hats. She really loved hats, and she loved ugly
- 16:49Speaker 1: hat soulders. I would ever went to the shore, I
- 16:51Speaker 1: would pick the ugliest hat there she and I would
- 16:55Speaker 1: give it to her. She loved it. She was like,
- 16:58Speaker 1: oh my god, that's so great. So I had it's
- 17:00Speaker 1: got to be personal something. Okay, So I bought my
- 17:03Speaker 1: mom with some diamond ear rings. That's good. But I
- 17:09Speaker 1: haven't bought my wife nothing yet. I'm still trying to fix.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So do I have to match or go beyond that?
- 17:17Speaker 1: I got it easier fixed on me. Go ahead, give
- 17:19Speaker 1: him one one hear ring each king to him. That's idiotic, Jay,
- 17:29Speaker 1: listen to your sep one the right here and the
- 17:33Speaker 1: other ones that left here and a B and a blender.
- 17:38Speaker 1: See what happened to you? It's just the right here, baby.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I like it though, I like it. I like it. Yeah.
- 17:53Speaker 1: That might work and they can call each other one
- 17:56Speaker 1: that they they need the other one. If you're really
- 17:58Speaker 1: going somewhere, this brings them together. Are you going anyway?
- 18:03Speaker 1: As we get? No? Can I get the left? That's it? Tom, No,
- 18:10Speaker 1: that's time timming. That's a great idea. Go ahead and
- 18:13Speaker 1: do that, Go ahead and do that. No, no, that's perfect, man,
- 18:18Speaker 1: that's real smart. I thought so too. I actually that's
- 18:22Speaker 1: the sick man, the fact that we agreeing on something. Man,
- 18:25Speaker 1: you don't know how that made me feel. Man, And
- 18:27Speaker 1: don't stop there. Gloves you gotta give him less so
- 18:32Speaker 1: white gloves? What one glove of place? I love it, Jake, Steve,
- 18:39Speaker 1: Please come on, you're the king of gift giving. No no, no, no, no,
- 18:45Speaker 1: no no no. I won't tell me to do this
- 18:49Speaker 1: begging him to do it at ring call that you're
- 18:57Speaker 1: gonna get on money? Got one more, one more six
- 19:03Speaker 1: roses six right? Gave the other six to your mom? Right?
- 19:08Speaker 1: So six right? Yeah? Half? Does I like that? Man?
- 19:14Speaker 1: You're gonna be so damn homeless, so divorced. What read
- 19:19Speaker 1: you gonna be at times like grease? That's what you
- 19:24Speaker 1: gonna be at meals? Let me know, spread a love around.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I like it. I can't believe she's not saying anything
- 19:36Speaker 1: because he is an expert JA and giving gifts. He
- 19:43Speaker 1: really I'm agree with this because I'm gonna break this
- 19:45Speaker 1: team and up these two things. Everything Jay say, he
- 19:50Speaker 1: agree with everything, Tommy say, he agree. I'm gonna go on.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Let this would happen. Everything you say, Junior agrees with
- 19:58Speaker 1: because it makes make sense. One ring, a piece, one
- 20:05Speaker 1: glove and six rows. It's just going this movie. We're
- 20:08Speaker 1: gonna go with that. Are you busy tonight? No? What
- 20:11Speaker 1: can I grow? All right? That's all I'm going out,
- 20:16Speaker 1: that's all thinking. The closes. He ain't even married. You
- 20:21Speaker 1: taking Yes, this is crazy, That's what I don't understandiculous,
- 20:26Speaker 1: It was ridiculous. What kind of gifts did you give
- 20:31Speaker 1: in the man? Just going and just use this for everything?
- 20:36Speaker 1: What do you mean Christmas? I mean like everything, handy work, Oh,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I don't care what it is. Your mama wanted dog,
- 20:44Speaker 1: give her the dog, Give your wife the dog. Know everything.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I like it. Use that logic. See if you're taking
- 20:59Speaker 1: him to the one the television, the other one the stand. Yeah,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I like itote the one of them. You one of them,
- 21:12Speaker 1: some sneakers, you know, other one to sho strange. Just
- 21:16Speaker 1: watch them have to work together. But it just it
- 21:19Speaker 1: just brings them closer. Man, make the family. I'm saying,
- 21:24Speaker 1: keep doing it. But I want on the car. Get
- 21:25Speaker 1: the car. Hey, you know like I like, don't listen
- 21:32Speaker 1: to them. Tommy, Carl and I are mothers, do not live.
- 21:36Speaker 1: And you give him a brawl, give one on the
- 21:42Speaker 1: right cup and get the cup. Let me tell yourself,
- 21:47Speaker 1: I'm seeing your mama and your wife said my mama.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Strong to them your wife. When your wife get the
- 21:57Speaker 1: other cup, it's gonna be you happy mother's dad this
- 22:08Speaker 1: happy mother mama. You got to meet my mama. Man,
- 22:12Speaker 1: you don't remember I love Mom's I love mom all right?
- 22:17Speaker 1: Coming up the nephews, new bit. Who are you mad
- 22:20Speaker 1: at now? It's coming up right after this. They're gonna
- 22:23Speaker 1: be mad at you. We'll be back, all right, We're
- 22:27Speaker 1: back y'all. Coming up at the top of that I missaying,
- 22:29Speaker 1: gonna get us all caught up on today's national news.
- 22:31Speaker 1: What's the latest from the White House saying that because
- 22:36Speaker 1: ladies White House, I don't know why to hell, I
- 22:39Speaker 1: don't know why to heal my letter to some staff members,
- 22:43Speaker 1: some damn White House. It's digging Russia and come on
- 22:49Speaker 1: me here on this hill because I wanted some peaceush dog,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I just asked for some You can't walk up on them.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I'm just anyway. They're gonna do a story. I don't

- 31:51Speaker 1: So that year you won. You know, that's an old
- 31:55Speaker 1: story with somebody to say a color television set like
- 32:00Speaker 1: you had an option of buying the black and white.
- 32:10Speaker 1: That scene in Johnson's Family Vacation with you and said,
- 32:14Speaker 1: and y'all were trying to do each other. Uh. Yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: I never had to compete. When I was the youngest
- 32:20Speaker 1: one in my family. So my brothers eleven years older
- 32:24Speaker 1: than me, my younger mother eleven years older than me,
- 32:26Speaker 1: so they had money. I didn't you know, I got

- 32:55Speaker 1: Oh you didn't break it up. Yeah, you couldn't be
- 32:57Speaker 1: the whole set. Boy, one time came out here that
- 33:00Speaker 1: set man for eight dollars. I saved all year long.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Man got down there that had bought the last gift
- 33:09Speaker 1: set eight dollars, the powder, the perfume, the body washed baths.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Oh man, I gave her that man. I cried doglar.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Hell yeah, man, my mom wore that even the past.

- 33:35Speaker 1: her that white diamonds. Boy, my mama wore that wolf.
- 33:38Speaker 1: So then I said, okay, okay, okay, he gonna sit

- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna save all my damn money. This year I

- 34:09Speaker 1: the way. Just stop man. Then that damn miss pain
- 34:13Speaker 1: come over. Your son took folk tulips out of my yard.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I said, are you old, bitter health for me? You
- 34:24Speaker 1: steal the dog though I had a nice bouquet. Man
- 34:30Speaker 1: I went, I wrent around on a couple of the blocks,

- 35:23Speaker 1: gotta do what you gotta do anyway. Good morning, everybody.
- 35:26Speaker 1: This is a trip of the news morning see shirty
- 35:28Speaker 1: call everybody out there, Junior uh sad news for a
- 35:31Speaker 1: lot of people in Florida. Former Florida Representative of Corrinne Brown.
- 35:35Speaker 1: After an historic twenty five year career in Congress, she's
- 35:39Speaker 1: been found guilty of taking money from a charity that
- 35:41Speaker 1: was purported to be giving scholarships to poor students. Correne
- 35:44Speaker 1: Brown is seventy years old. During the trial, prosecutors outlined
- 35:47Speaker 1: a pattern of fraud by prown by Brown and her
- 35:50Speaker 1: top Aid that they say included using hundreds of thousands
- 35:53Speaker 1: of dollars from this charity, called the One Door for
- 35:56Speaker 1: Education Foundation for lavish parties and trips and shopping incursions.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Coin Brown convictive eighteen of the twenty two charges against her,
- 36:04Speaker 1: including lying on her taxes and on her congressional financial
- 36:07Speaker 1: disclosure forms. Cormin Brown faces a stiff prison term when sentenced,
- 36:11Speaker 1: as she may be appealing Trump. White House still handling
- 36:13Speaker 1: questions over the President's firing of FBI Director James Comey
- 36:17Speaker 1: because it seems a story keeps changing First, the official
- 36:19Speaker 1: reason was that because of the way Comey handled the
- 36:21Speaker 1: Clinton email, it's stuff, but lawmakers on both sides doubted
- 36:24Speaker 1: that one, since even Clinton says she felt Comey's eleventh
- 36:27Speaker 1: hour announcement of a new probe at least partially derailed
- 36:29Speaker 1: her White House chances. Then the President claimed it was
- 36:32Speaker 1: because Comey was ruining the agency and its morale. And
- 36:35Speaker 1: then that charge was a few to by acting FBI
- 36:37Speaker 1: Director Andrew McKay before Congressional committee. He's a show boat,
- 36:40Speaker 1: he's a grandstander of the FBI has been in turmoil.
- 36:45Speaker 1: You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that. I
- 36:47Speaker 1: can tell you that Director Comy enjoyed broad support within
- 36:52Speaker 1: the FBI and still does to this day. By the way,
- 36:55Speaker 1: it's not now known how long Andrew McKay is going
- 36:57Speaker 1: to have that acting director position. Then Trump spoke to
- 37:00Speaker 1: NBC's Lester Holt and brought out the Russia election meddling
- 37:03Speaker 1: pro Actually, I said, if it's possible, would you let
- 37:07Speaker 1: me know, am I under investigation? And said, you are
- 37:10Speaker 1: not under investigation. So that was that. Then the Vice
- 37:14Speaker 1: President Pence said the President was merely following the recommendation
- 37:16Speaker 1: of Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein. But Trump told NBC he
- 37:20Speaker 1: intended to fire call me no matter what the Justice
- 37:22Speaker 1: Department said. So it's kind of keeps changing, and I
- 37:25Speaker 1: guess it had to happen or maybe not. Anyway, just

- 43:44Speaker 1: around round round round right. You'll keep going down down down.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I'll stop coming a round round right. You keep that
- 44:06Speaker 1: temn down down down, down down down, then I'll stop
- 44:13Speaker 1: coming round round round right. She might have a wrong, no,

- 45:37Speaker 1: the play. He did better and that really upset it. Well,
- 45:40Speaker 1: he thought you were going to say it was him
- 45:42Speaker 1: because you went backstage after the play and told him
- 45:44Speaker 1: he was really good. Well he was really good, but
- 45:47Speaker 1: he wasn't the best. Tommy was the best. Well that's
- 45:51Speaker 1: I have problems. Yeah, I think Yeah misled him into
- 45:54Speaker 1: thinking he's my life living him the whole year here
- 46:00Speaker 1: because he does not let stuff going down. Already got
- 46:05Speaker 1: a church lady man. Oh boy, yeah, well maybe if
- 46:14Speaker 1: you go see it again, you have a different perspective.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Who knows different perspective? You never know Jay and you
- 46:25Speaker 1: know he and Steve they speak, but not on great terms. Yeah.

- 49:01Speaker 1: I just came back home from overseas, from fighting and everything. Man,
- 49:04Speaker 1: And uh, I mean you know my post just passed
- 49:07Speaker 1: away not too long ago. And I ain't you know,
- 49:10Speaker 1: I ain't too keen or my mama going out with
- 49:13Speaker 1: somebody and beside you, you don't even sound like you. Hey,

- 49:40Speaker 1: but my mama ain't no cougar like that. And I
- 49:42Speaker 1: know she ain't coming after you right now. I remember
- 49:45Speaker 1: telling me that she trying some new things of this church,
- 49:48Speaker 1: but going out with some this thirties thirty How do
- 49:52Speaker 1: you you do a baby, man, I'm thirty. I'm thirty six. Dude. Man,

- 49:59Speaker 1: My mom gonna be dating to say, okay, okay, sans James.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Let me say this man. First of all, I ain't
- 50:04Speaker 1: know I was calling you. Second of all, I'm calling
- 50:06Speaker 1: and speak with her. I'm not calling trying to get
- 50:08Speaker 1: permission from you. Miss Burns is a grown woman. And whoa, whoa,

- 50:23Speaker 1: I don't care if I'm still living at home and
- 50:25Speaker 1: now I'm the man of this house. All right. You
- 50:28Speaker 1: calling the ass my mama on a date, you might
- 50:31Speaker 1: as well just stick the church dog, because you know,
- 50:33Speaker 1: as I said, be blessed, But it ain't gonna be
- 50:36Speaker 1: no blessing for me to you. I tell you that
- 50:39Speaker 1: right now. Okay, I'm not looking for a blessing from
- 50:42Speaker 1: you at all. Bro. You might no blessing, but I
- 50:46Speaker 1: respect the fact that you've been overseas and you've been
- 50:49Speaker 1: fighting for this country. Okay, But if I decide I
- 50:51Speaker 1: wanna speak to miss Burns about going out, I think
- 50:54Speaker 1: Miss Burns has every right to decide if she would
- 50:57Speaker 1: like to go out with Gordon's or not, and Gordon
- 51:00Speaker 1: wants to take her up. Holding up, Look, bro, I
- 51:04Speaker 1: don't care how old you say you are, all right,
- 51:06Speaker 1: Number one, you're too young. As I already mentioned. All right,
- 51:09Speaker 1: this ain't going down with you and my mom. I'm
- 51:13Speaker 1: straight up, hey, man, that's for your mama to decide.
- 51:15Speaker 1: So that you you're bringing up my mama. You're letting
- 51:18Speaker 1: the word your mama come out your mouth again. That's
- 51:21Speaker 1: gonna get you up, all right. I don't know where
- 51:23Speaker 1: you're from. I don't get how old you are. I'm
- 51:26Speaker 1: pretty sick. I know what church my mama go to
- 51:29Speaker 1: and and it ain't gonna be her and you you
- 51:31Speaker 1: ain't gonna be asking her out, all right. I don't
- 51:34Speaker 1: give what it takes. I would show up on Sunday,
- 51:37Speaker 1: catch up in the pulfeit or wherever you're gonna be
- 51:40Speaker 1: sitting in the back of the choir. It's don't matter
- 51:43Speaker 1: something's going down. You are not gonna get with my
- 51:46Speaker 1: mama like that. You got that. That's up for your
- 51:48Speaker 1: mama to decide if your mama want to go out
- 51:50Speaker 1: with me down dinner. I ain't looking long with that, man,
- 51:53Speaker 1: I'm I'm deciding it right now. It ain't gonna happen.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I told you before, be blessed or get your whoop.
- 52:00Speaker 1: You got two choice, all right. I didn't fight. Let's
- 52:02Speaker 1: see three years to come back and also deal with
- 52:06Speaker 1: my daddy died and then come back. I'm suffering from PSD. Dog.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm gonna do unless you want
- 52:13Speaker 1: to get it like that from one PSD post traumatic
- 52:17Speaker 1: stress syndrome, and I will release all that on you
- 52:21Speaker 1: got that. I don't play, But hey, man, listen, I

- 52:34Speaker 1: to you mom on Sunday. Okay, you ain't gonna tell them?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Are you not hearing me? Man? I'm okay, I'm crazy
- 52:40Speaker 1: right now? Okay? Can I say this? Can I say
- 52:42Speaker 1: one more things? Because you man, so you explode, you
- 52:44Speaker 1: ain't got nothing else to say. I got one more
- 52:46Speaker 1: thing before you explode. Man, If you're listening, Yeah, Man, James,

- 54:19Speaker 1: good too? Oh that's great, Tommy, congratulations. It's getting real
- 54:23Speaker 1: crowded at the top. According to Forbes, Sean Diddy Combs
- 54:28Speaker 1: maintained the top spot in this year's list of richest
- 54:31Speaker 1: people in Hip Hop. I didn't know that, but jay
- 54:33Speaker 1: Z is right there. I would have thought it would
- 54:35Speaker 1: be jay Z. Jay Z is right there. Bad Boy
- 54:38Speaker 1: Entertainment founder Puffy once again top Forbes list. He has
- 54:42Speaker 1: a net worth of anybody want to get Steve. You
- 54:44Speaker 1: want to guess how much did he's worth? Nope, just
- 54:47Speaker 1: concerned with my own eight hundred and twenty million dollars. Yes,
- 54:56Speaker 1: eight know money always because always somebody's from your spirit. Right,
- 55:13Speaker 1: jay Z's right behind him with eight hundred and ten million.
- 55:19Speaker 1: That's a thirty percent increase from two thousand sixteen. Dr
- 55:22Speaker 1: Dre slid into number three with a still impressive seven
- 55:26Speaker 1: hundred and forty million dollars. Steve seven hundred change. I
- 55:38Speaker 1: thought he had some money. Yeah, yeah, but anyway, Jay uh,
- 55:49Speaker 1: I mean Dr Dre has seven hundred forty million thanks
- 55:51Speaker 1: to mostly to his share of his beat sale to
- 55:54Speaker 1: Apples back in two thousand fourteen. Some savvy investments. All right,
- 55:59Speaker 1: coming up next, straw Very letter. Yeah two and three.
- 56:04Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Show. All right, The
- 56:08Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter is coming up next. But first, Steve, Now
- 56:11Speaker 1: you're a grandfather, so I have to come to you.
- 56:19Speaker 1: You don't want to come it on that so you know,
- 56:26Speaker 1: we turned to our grandparents, Like I said, your grandfather,
- 56:29Speaker 1: we turned to our grandparents for parenting advice. We turned
- 56:31Speaker 1: to them for knowledge. But according to a new study,
- 56:35Speaker 1: their expertise might not be as helpful as we think.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Grandparents baby raising practices could be a bit dated. Okay,
- 56:43Speaker 1: Almost a quarter of nana's and pop paus didn't know
- 56:47Speaker 1: that babies should be put to sleep on their backs,
- 56:50Speaker 1: not their tummies, not their sides. They should put me
- 56:53Speaker 1: put to sleep on their backs. And almost half of them,
- 56:56Speaker 1: that's like of them believed ice bats are way to
- 57:00Speaker 1: lower high fever, but they can actually lower body temperature
- 57:04Speaker 1: too much, leading to a risk for hypothermia. Okay, Steve,
- 57:08Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, are you doing some you know,
- 57:12Speaker 1: some dated practices in your grandfathering. I don't do nothing.
- 57:17Speaker 1: I know how to put the baby to sleep, That's
- 57:18Speaker 1: all I can. I played with you for a little while.
- 57:23Speaker 1: I put my little grandson Noah in the in the
- 57:25Speaker 1: little life round, you know the ring that fit under
- 57:28Speaker 1: the kids on They sit in the seat, but the
- 57:31Speaker 1: water ring fits under their arm, and then I push
- 57:34Speaker 1: him out to the middle of the pool. He loves
- 57:36Speaker 1: that being he gotta kick about a thousand times to
- 57:40Speaker 1: get back over to the side. As soon as you
- 57:43Speaker 1: get out there, I just push his hands back out
- 57:44Speaker 1: there again. His little answer is exhausted. Yeah, I gotta.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I got a picture of him sleep in the pool.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Everybody mad at me when they come home. Why's the
- 57:57Speaker 1: grand baby sleep in the pool? That's why he fell
- 57:59Speaker 1: a sleep? You want me to wake his ass up?
- 58:08Speaker 1: The baby sleep in the water. Water. We gotta heat
- 58:15Speaker 1: it pool. That water warm like bad water. Sleepy, were comfortable? Alright,
- 58:24Speaker 1: Time to a letter to get back to the side.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Times done, Papa Harvey. All right, let's gen to the
- 58:37Speaker 1: strawberry letter. Alright, bu hold on time. Supposedly it's a
- 58:42Speaker 1: good one strawberry letter. Well it's really short too. Subject
- 58:47Speaker 1: living hell. Okay, I've been there, dear Stephen Shirley, every since,
- 58:55Speaker 1: That's what the letter says, every since I got married.
- 58:57Speaker 1: My mother in law is such a black you know what.
- 59:02Speaker 1: One time my husband took me to her house to
- 59:05Speaker 1: see her, and she slammed the door right in my face,
- 59:09Speaker 1: took a knife and pointed it at me. She called
- 59:12Speaker 1: the police and said I tried to hit her over
- 59:16Speaker 1: the head with a Rock Stephen Shirley. I want to
- 59:20Speaker 1: throw her over a bridge or push her in front
- 59:23Speaker 1: of a car. Help me, please, just like throw mama.
- 59:28Speaker 1: That's it. That's the letter. That's the letter, all right.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Uh to me, you don't have a mother in law problem.
- 59:34Speaker 1: You have a husband issue here. Um. You know his
- 59:38Speaker 1: mom is crazy, obviously. Um. You know she's rude. Who
- 59:42Speaker 1: would slam the door in someone's face, who would take
- 59:45Speaker 1: a knife and pointed at them and then call the police.
- 59:47Speaker 1: You don't mention if anything happened, Why you guys don't
- 59:52Speaker 1: like each other. You don't mention any of that. So
- 59:54Speaker 1: I'm just going to assume that she just doesn't think
- 59:57Speaker 1: you're good enough for her precious son, and that you
- 59:59Speaker 1: took her son away from her. But again, her son.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Your husband needs to step in here. I mean, he
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: certainly cannot let his mom treat you this way, disrespect
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: you this way. You are his wife. You know he
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: has to leave and cleave. He's got to leave and
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: his parents and his family and cleave to you. You
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: are his wife. Again. I don't know what happened to
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: make her think this way or feel this way about you. Uh.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: It sounds to me like she's just crazy and he's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: a mama's boy and he needs to step in and
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: do something. Steve, Well, well, so short, so sweet, so
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: little time. Your mom in law is the mom in
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: law from hell. Yes, okay, get in line. A lot
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: of people got that problem. I happen to have a
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: really really cool setting in law, my father in law
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: and my mother in laws to the nicest people everyway.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Just mentioned that. I mean really, they're just really really
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: sweetheart of people. Know you, wasn't that lucky. You're right
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: up into this bat out of hell. Now your husban
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: standing there obviously ain't doing nothing about it because either
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: one or two things is happening here. Your husband scared
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: of his mama too, or your husband don't like you either. Now,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: sometimes you just gotta face it. Sometimes you have to
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: face it. What what is it again? See? Either either
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: your husband it's scared or his mama too, yeah, or
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: your husband don't like you either. And him and his
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: mama the tagged up and decided this is how we're
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: gonna get rid of you. Get a mama, get her
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: stab with mama. Hit in ahead. He's so crazy, the
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: police off. Yeahs ain't doing another I'm on this assuming
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: he don't like you either. See, you didn't say nothing
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: about your husband in the letter, but you ain't saying
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: nothing about how to hate started. It started somewhere. I'm thinking,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I'm just gonna take a different approblem. Maybe this letter
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: got something to do with you. I got your mom
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: and lost bat out of hell, help her helth Forging Wild.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: You know it's a new video, Health was Wild? You
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: know I got the girl going wild video. We're gonna
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: start a video. We're gonna take Mama law Help was Gold.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: But maybe you didn't done something to mom in law
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: that's making you wanna push your in front of car.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Because I'm trying to figure out what's stopping you from
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: pushing her in front of the car. She walked on prison.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Well you know, ef she don't walk in a wheelchair,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I don't right off the curtain, deal with it. Or
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: if she don't want to, if she if she got
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: the brakes on a wheelchair, just push it forward, make
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: a fall forward out the wheelchair into the traffic, and
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: a lot of ways you can do. But I think
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: what's really wrong what your husband don't care how you mama,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: how Mama talk to you? Because he pretty much agreed
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: with his mama. Maybe it could be that, now, if
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: you're a sweetheart of a person, I could be wrong.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I could be wrong. Maybe you're just a perfect little
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: angel and you really are dealing with this helper from hell.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Either way, when we come back, what you wanna know
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: is you want to throw her over bridge or push
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: your in front of a car. What are some of
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: the other things you could do that could get you
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: less jail time. I have a list of those things
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: when we come back. Stuff you can do to your
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: mom in law that it gets you less jail time,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: to throwing over the bridge you're pushing up. Okay, you're
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: listening to st all right, come on see with your
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: response to part two of the Strawberry Letter. Right now,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: let's have it bye. You got a mother in law
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: that's giving you the blues, the helper from hell, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: you want to push out in front of a car,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: throw off a brick. Don't do that. That's a lot
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: of time. She ain't worth that. Now are things you
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: can do the old women, Oh oh, battle axes, help
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: us from Hell. Ain't gonna get you no jail time.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Hid all her wigs, just hid him can't where you
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: put them. Just hid him, they got alper Just haul off,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: slapper and run that really piss old people off when
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: you run. What they're gonna do? Now any chase to
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: come on? Now you can start a room about it
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: at your church, like prostitution an old lady. Yeah, I
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: don't ever go croster because then m come who want that?
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: They coughs? You know, that's when people can really talk
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: about how she decided to sell all that. Whoo who
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: who who? Won't it? But old man, why do fool see?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: You got? This is how you hurt. You sell a
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: cock keys to a crackhead for twenty off. Crackhead, don't
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: have logic nowhere, I get the cocky. I don't sell
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: the con down down, I ain't cracks summer sell cockys
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: to a crackhead for twing it off. He'll find all
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: he sees the outside. Go into basement when she sleeps
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: late at night and keep saying that her name in
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: the avent Gray. Just go into them and say, horn,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I'm just telling you stuff you can do to your
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: mom and get it right here. Get over take her
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: teeth when she put him on the side of the
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: bed and the job, and just take your whole job.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Just put him on top refrigeration. She never fake to
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: look on top or the refrigerator. Here's a go sprnk up,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: grind up some ex lax frankly and all her food.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: And then just put a chair in the hard way
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: where the bathroom and just sit down and just watch
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: her and her back and form all day and that
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: time she shut out. Just talk to him. I have
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I'm your crazy Steeve. We have to go. Come on,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: you can email us our Instagram. What's your thoughts on
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: today's strawberry letter at my girl Shirley? All right, thank you?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: All right? So hey, hey, hey, we just let let
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: me let me ask you something. What do y'all want
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: for Mother's Day? Speaking to mother's college. Just walked in here.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: She's brand new mama. She's gonna get j as. Don't
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: know how to shop. Does her husband knows? Oh yeah,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: oh he don't even know. He owned him. What's up?
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: B J J? He seen me? He started crying, Paul, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: well I'm at the studio and the kids just stopped there.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: As soon as he see me, he started crying. And
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: then did you yeah? Man? And then I gotta yoke
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: him up, take him and squeeze him and hold him
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: down everything. He looked at the head, says, I don't
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: know what's wrong with him. He'd be all right now.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I think he's excited maybe to see I'm gonna get it.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna choke him up though out all that. Don't
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: worry about that, sherl. It just ain't your grand baby's
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: fine it prep all. You won't hear a boy he
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: gonna get yoked up, make him tough. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Is he one? Is he too? He's just big. That's
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: all I need to do. Stand up by yourself right now?
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: That's good? Yeah? I mean four now, man, two boys
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: and two girls. Wow, that's perfect. That is That's a
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: lot of perfect if you get involved with all them.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: B J see me, he started crying. Nowhere seeing me,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: he busts out, laughing. That's the one I love you.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Huh yeah, roll see me, she come to me, l
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: see me? She go the other way. So you got
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: to that are crazy about you? Yeah? No one as
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: the one I put in the swimming pool and pushed
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: him out. That made him do a thousand kicks. Oh god,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: but I bet it would be fun having you as
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: as papa because you're funny. They're gonna understand that. They're
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: gonna all understand who got the damn money around here?
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, but but but you know, like
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: when I'm at home in Atlanta, they all know them
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: because they're coming office. I got ain't got number candy
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: and cookies in my dead I controlled my kids with
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: sweets like our parents did us. Yeah, because not like
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Carly and Morgan are like really conscientious moms. Like the
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: little baby, he'd be drinking tumeric milk and stuff, just
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: trifling as miss You know, I slip up a little
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: can of Carnation condensed milk, but without fitting it out.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Just let him straight. Boy man, they'll be trying to
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: put their tongue down in the cannon. Everything I got
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: the wrapper your mind sneer on their gums, like that's
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: what brand? Dad? Do you shut up calling oh Man
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: for Steve. Yeah, I don't get all that. They get
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Oreo cookies. Everything was just coming in, come in. They
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: need to back out. Is a new mom. But they're
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: doing all that new stuff. You know. They drank goats
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: milk and seary and here he ain't having no damn food,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: his little ass having nutritional snacks stuff like that. This
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: boy over here got a handful of wheat grass trying
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: to make it work. I put the boy on to jump.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I turned them out. I got slim gems in the
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: office and that's a dump food and it's wrong. So
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you know, is wrong for kids. You give a baby
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: a slim jim and the rest of his life because
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: they can hold the skinny and the flag. But you
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: gotta get that mild or you get that spicy that
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: throw the ass in there, so Steve, they can't digest
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: that their belly. Oh my god, they ain't got the digested.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: They colons ain't even that long yet. You know how
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: long colons are. They just go in and come out.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, way too much. All right, coming up,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: we've been promising it all morning, all morning long, forty
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: one easter, and Steve Harvey has something to say to you. Yeah,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: well to you whatever, you know who you are. You're
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey show. Alright, Steve, we all know
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: about it because of course we read the internet and
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: we know you. There's this email floating around that you
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: put out and it's been grossly misunderstood. We just wanted
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: to for you to have an opportunity to speak about
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: it to us. And we're really not supposed to be
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: here because according to the um Internet, you fired all
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: of us anyway, But yeah, yeah, I mean, but you know,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: it's sort of crazy because the Internet is just a
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: space where people can a lot of cowards can just
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: take a keyboard and just write what they want to
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: write without any context to it. And so what happened
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: at the beginning of the year in August, the beginning
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: of season five four TV seasons has gone by here
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: in Chicago, and you know, we taped our last show yesterday, okay,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: and you know the show. The show is moving to
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: Los Angeles, and you know it's a business decision. But
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: this is a business decision I can make by myself.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: You know, Look, you can't move a TV show by
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: yourself because you say we're moving. Because number one, I
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: don't put up the money as the production company. I'm
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: in a partnership with i MG end the Mall and NBC.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: I'm in a partnership. I happened to be the star
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: of the show and it's called The Steve Harvey Show
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: and I have a say so, but I'm in a partnership.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: It's a business that I'm in, and people who put
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: up the money have a say so and who gets
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: hired and where it goes and how much we have
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: to spend for a budget. So the decision was made
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: in March finally to move the show to l A.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: The day after the decision was made, the president of
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: ind the Mall flew to Chicago to inform all the
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: people on the show, all the employees who have a
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: contract with in the mall. The president, Christo Brego, great guy,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: came up to Chicago and told everybody that the show
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: was moving back in March. That was the day after
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: it was finalized with me. It was in the works
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: for a while, but it got finalized in March. The
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: next day the president came up and talked to everybody. Now,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: prior to that, I had written a letter to some
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: staff members in August because for four years I tried
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: to have an open door policy, a very approachable policy. Hey, look,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: just come up to me, talk to me whatever you need.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: But so many people just took advantage of it. Man.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I mean if I if I come out my door.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: People were at my door if I come off the set,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: people waiting on me in the hallway I get to
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: my office door, people being my office door. You know,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I just felt like I was getting ambushed, just over
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: and over and over, and I didn't have a space.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I would be sitting in the makeup chair. People walk
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: in the dressing room without knocking. I mean, and and everything.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: Didn't have a moment to yourself, which I just felt
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: like I was. All of my time was occupied. So
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I said at the beginning of season five, I've got
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: a carve out some me time. I got so many jobs,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: and all my jobs, I'm very approachable. People can come
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: up to me. So beginning to season five on the
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: talk show, I sent out a letter to staff saying
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: stuff like, I didn't want to be bombarded in the hallway.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: I don't want to be ambushed. I don't want you
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: waiting outside my dress room. No meetings in my dressing room,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: no stopping by or popping in. No one people just
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: stopped buying popping. Don't come in my dressing room unless
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: you're invited. Do you understand what it's like to be
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: a celebrity. You already don't have much of your time
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: and people walk in your dressing room without knocking. Let
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: let let me tell you something. Try to walk in
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Oprah's dressing room. Just just see if you can get
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: in there. Go to Ellen, go to dr Field, go
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: to anybody. But because I'm a comedian and I'm in
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: a happy business, people just took advantage of it for
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: four years. So I decided to stop. Stop opening my
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: dress room door. If you opened my door, expect to
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: be removed. I had to write it out like that,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: and I wrote it myself. But you know, the couple
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: of times I was on your show, Steve, I was
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: amazed because just walking to your dressing room, there are
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: people lined up on the way, yeah, to to get
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: to you when you're in your dressing room. They're coming
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: in while you're getting dressed. There in they have papers
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: in their hand, they're asking you questions, they want you
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: to sign stuff. I mean, it was just ridiculous. While
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: you're eating there talking to you. I mean, I can't
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: even have lunch. And so it became absolutely unbearable for me.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Because I had this policy where I allowed people to
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: approach me. I decided on year five to stop that.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: It wasn't mean spirited I just sent it to everybody,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: and at the end of I said, if you're reading this,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: I mean you mean you. And that's what I put
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: out there. I put everything I wanted either knock or
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: you the doorbell. I even installed the doorbell this year
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: so you can ring the doorbell. I mean, people would
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: just walk into my dressing room. But I got three
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: sections in it, so I got a private area. I
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: got a little area walk and get some rest if
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I needed. But people just walk in and it became
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: just unbearable for me, and so I issued this letter.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Now the show moves gets find out that we're moving.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: In March. The man who sized all the contract came up.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Chris and break O, great guy, very smart, came up
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: the next day and straightened everybody told him we were moving.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Now all of a sudden, is Steve Ain't told us
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: we're moving. Hey, man, do you know how many TV
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: shows I've been on where they come in and they
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: tell me your show was canceled. Ain't, no, we're moving,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: your show was canceled. You know how many times I've
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: come to work and find out we don't have no work.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: You know how many times they took our radio show
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: offer stations with no warning. We've lost markets, game markets,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: gotten markets back. It's the business we're in. I wish
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: everybody nothing but the best, you know, man, and I've
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I've constantly told my staff members, none of this is
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: forever for all of us. You know, one day, you
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: know we're gonna be a position where we're gonna have
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: to move on. None of you will work with me forever.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: I've always said this. Now little do I know, even
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: to me how God would move this thing around and
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: change it. It's really gotten to the point where I'm
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: just really tired of people, man, just saying what they
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: want to say about me without knowing the truth. It's
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: been a great run in Chicago, but I'm in too
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: many cities too many times, and it's a very difficult
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: life I have, and I gotta condense all this to
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: make it a better lifestyle for me. I wish everybody
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: the best. I'm sorry they felt that way. But meanwhile,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: we will not look you in the eye. We will
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: not walk with you and look at TV. I bet
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: you if you see me in that bathroom, I bet
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: you not being that, We'll be back with You're listening,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Steve alright top of I'll be back. You know, thank
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: you Shirley for asking me about the stuff that's about me.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: You know, and look, and you know, once again, appreciate
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: y'all hearing me out. You know. Look, I normally don't
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: address stuff on the internet, but this went out in
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: a real paper, and now this is going out on
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: real TV. I don't know why. I'm a news story
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: our country and a will of damn trouble. We got
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: North Korea trying to launch Mitchells on our ask and
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: y'all sitting up here worrying about because I don't want
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: nobody just walking in my damn dressing. Ah wait, let
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: me ask you something. Can people just walk in your
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: house if you come home? Can a person be sitting
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: on your porch when you come out your back door
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: to get your car? Do people come up to you
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: before you get in your comba? No, man, What I
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: asked for was just can you just respect my space?
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: But it just comes from four years of people just
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: taking advantage of my kindness because I'm a comedian. See,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Opra ain't no comedian. You can't do that. To open
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Oprah walks with a group of people around here and
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: there you run upon Ms Winfrey if you want to,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: it'll be your last time. And not that she's a
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: mean person, because opens a sweetheart, but Oprah has that respect.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: You can't do that the time. Yes, you can't speak,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Mr Yah asking him to speak? Yes, I'm asking me.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: I speak. Mr Harvey, Man, you can, but just a
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: little what is day? Yeah, it's just a little bit.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: It's called being new on the Jim. What's the end
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: of your third week? And three weeks? He still stealing?
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: And and Timmy, you need to learn this. I've been
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: with you all my life. I'm not going to ask
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: you when to speed. No, you ain't gotta ask me
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: to speak. But when you see me blinking, you stop.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Gives me? Are you looking at him telling me? Not
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: in the looking at more like waist level? But it's close.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: You know already spoke what you want to say? No,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: can you let me know when you're thinking so I
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: will not think that's what we're talking about. Never spank Junior. Yeah,
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Mr Harvey, I will say this. Ain't nobody talking to you, sir?
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Thank you. I wish I would see what you're gonna
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: do is you're gonna be what your name is Julie
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: yep y s yeah, bang down all these seniors up
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: in here. I knew you when you ain't had no money.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: I wish I were gonna be a ting now. I
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: can't blink when you blink, can't go to bathrood. We
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: used to p outside together. What is you talking about? Man?
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I speak again, Mr Hun, I knew I knew you
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: when you ain't had no money. I know you're not
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: get caught in there. You know it's no money. But
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: that just for the he though, and what do you want?
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Jay um Tommy, this is a good job for me, okay,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: and I don't want to mess up. So he asked
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: you nicely, do not look at him. So the best
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: thing for you to do so that we don't all
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: lose our good jobs is don't do that. Okay. I'm
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: looking at him. Were already like he's already fired up.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: According to the story, we're looking at my chest stop
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: And according to the other end of the story, I
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: find y'all anything yea, yeah, kept hitting us up. Are
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: you still working with Steve? Are you still working? Yes?
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Father in law called Steve. Okay. One of my partners
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: called me and said, man, you lost your job and
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: said no. He said, man, I think you better check again.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: How are you gonna story? Waite? Steve Jr. Called me
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: And said, how does it feel to be fired? That's it?
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Somebody said, damn, you just
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: got it when your coworker call what j What are
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: you talking about? He said, was going to the internet?
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Steve fired, that's all. Let me say this about that.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I can I say that. I think it was a
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: great note you wrote. It was so great I copied
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: and paid it and send it to thirty people I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: didn't want talking to me. They got today. But I
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: think when people read the letters Steve, they completely overlooked
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: the word ambush. Ambush, do not ambush me. I'm feeling ambushed, Okay.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: It means that when you walk out of the room,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: that's a group of people just converge upon you with
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: questions like the paparazzi or something. Yeah, but you know what,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: But but you know what it was was in the letter.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: I just told them what they had to do. I said,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: all y'all you do was make an appointment. Yeah, I'm
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: still to talk to me. Man, I talked to all
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: my employees. But you have to make an appointment now,
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: No more just stopping me when you got every whin
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: you have no idea what people will stop me with.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: I got fifteen minutes before we turn this thing around
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: at people bringing bringing stuff up to the office that
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: they read, letters, proposals, ideas. I mean, man, it was
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: just crazy man, not not being mean or anything, but
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: taking advantage of the fact that I just allow people
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: to step up to me because I'm out here doing
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: a happy show. I'm in the fun business. I'm on
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: family a little bit. Let me proof read Joe Nick letter.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Don't just be sending stuff back. I'm my old man.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I sent it out. I do not apologize for the letter. No, no, man,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: I asked for the same respect y'all give everybody else.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Let me tell you something they can't. Let me explain
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: something to you. The president of this building, the president
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: of this NBC station, you can't walk up to his
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: office without an appointment. You don't even know his ass
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: to attack someone or something by surprise from a hidden place,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: that's what and I just and for four years I
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: allowed people to do it. In year five, I said, man,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: what is it that's getting me down about coming here?
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: And that was one of the problems. I have no
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: free moments to myself. I mean, Monica sits here with
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: me every morning. She would tell you. People used to
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: just walk in here. Man, So I had to put
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: special locks on the doors because I don't like locking
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: the door so when I go in and out. But man,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: people just walking in your dressing room? Who does that?
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: If you're at your house, do you let anybody just
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: walk into your home? No? Man. And when I'm at work,
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: my dressing room is my home because I'm here more
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: and more than I am at home. Yeah, Steve, it's
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: always some negative stuff. It's still fun. People still your
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: your staff still enjoy working with you. And I think
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: that's just an image that was put out there that
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: you know, is this so much misery going on? Music?
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Let's go, come o cat, you're listening all right if
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: you're gonna love this story. Beyonce's publicists checks gossip site
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: for spreading rumors. Beyonce and her team are not here
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: for anyone trying to say she had lip injections while pregnant. Really, uh,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: beys publicists Yvette Noel Sure fired back at a gossip
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: site that recently claimed the singer had Kylie Jenner lips injection.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Her publicists released the following statement. Check it out. It says,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: what do you know about the effects of pregnancy on
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: a woman's entire body? Do you know that in an
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: addition to weight gain, there's often a dramatic change in
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling. Hello,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: the sacrifice to our faces, our feet, oh my God,
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: and our entire bodies is something we welcome because we
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: bring beautiful humans into the world who will one day
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: combat your hate and your negativity. I stood silent during
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Beyonce's first pregnancy when you thought it was okay to
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: bully her like the cowards you are when you accuse
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: her of never being pregnant, But I simply cannot this time.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: You are the saddest individuals and picking on a pregnant lady.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: It's tannamant too, possessing the coldest, despicable heart. We love it.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: Do not come for the queen. Okay, it's a place overseas,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: but she's things swell up when you're pregnant. Your lips nifty,
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, everything you know. You just gotta come
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: on now, Why would she get lip injections wild well, pregnant, Yeah,
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: while pregnant, it makes you want to be famous, but
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: not that fame. Y'all go through too much, mate, that's
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: just mean, don't do it. It's on top of that.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: According to a new study, smiling can make you look
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: up to two years older than you really are. Well,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: you can blame it on the wrinkles that form around
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: your eyes when you're smiling. On the other hand, a
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: shocked or surprised look makes you look younger because because
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: it smooths out those wrinkles. You don't know people who
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: smiling a lot, do you trust them? Just smile for
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: no reason, just for no reason. Yeah, smile on it. Yeah,
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: for no reason. That's such fact. I'm trusting trust him
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: at all? Smiling, smiling so happy? What's so funny? I'm
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: a comedian. Tell me I can't stand smiling too much.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: As fast talkers, I can't stand on You're always like,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: what are you saying? What's going on with? Yeah? Exactly,
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: forget having an any or an OUTI talking about the belly.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Belly now. Yeah, people are going to plastic surgeons. This
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: is the next big craze in pursuit of the perfect
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: belly button. Who cares I have? I have a nunny.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: I don't even have. You don't have a belly button.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: You can't see it? No more. I don't have it.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I was there, everybody. I don't have If you just
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: ate it, I didn't birth. It's in my back. It's
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: a back button. Wow. Yeah. This This doctor who's in
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: who's a plastic surgeon in New York City, says his
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: patients are requesting a belly button that is oval with
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: a bit of a hood on the top. Whatever that whatever.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: That looks like. Happy Mother's Day, by the way, everybody.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Yeah's day? Yeah, happy mothers. When we come back, I
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: need to say something about, hey, man, are you gonna
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: buy me something for Mother's Day? Yeah? You look forward. Yeah.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: You called me a mother something every week, SoSE elease,
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: we'll be back. Former FBI Director James Comey has finally
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: responded to his firing in a letter written to his
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: colleagues at the bureau. Something got to contain two words,
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: isn't it. In the farewell letter, which he sent Wednesday night,
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: he wrote, I have long believed that a president can
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: fire an FBI director for any reason or for no reason.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: At all. I'm not going to spend time on the
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: decision or the way it was executed. I hope you
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: won't either. It is done and I will be fine,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: although I will miss you and the mission deeply does.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Does he leave with money, get paid or maybe fired?
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: In boys they get they listen to me, he has
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: a tenure deal. It's almost like a deal. He gonna
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: get a nice package for leaving. And don't you know,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: he's gonna land somewhere real, He's gonna get a really
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: nice job. He won't be out of work long. Come on, man,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: you you're the director of the FBI and all of
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: a sudden you available. He'll probably be working for your
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: TV show in l A now. Yeah. But he can't
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: speak to me though, or ambush, ambush? What job? You know?
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: You get fired on you leaving the privacy? I want
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: to want. I want to say to my man, stephen A.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: Smith fought that man, appreciate the little boy. He reached
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: out to me today, asked me, was I okay? But
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna let me say this to everybody. I'm absolutely okay.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: I had a great staff here in Chicago. The ninety
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: nine point nine percent of the people were absolutely wonderful
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: and great, hard working people. You take a disgruntled person
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: who ain't happy with where they lie at now because
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: this you're moving to l A and obviously they're not going,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: so they're gonna take a letter that I sent way
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: back in August, and everybody understood why they got it that.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Everybody came up to me to agree. While Mr Harvey,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: I can't believe you allowed it to go on this long.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: You've been more than cordial and congenial with people, but
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: people have just taken advantage of you. So the letter
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: I read was to stop them from doing it to me,
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: and I just write playing. I didn't have my publicists
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: put it together. I didn't have no legal term read over,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: legal team read over. That's how I write to people.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: I needed to be playing because I don't need nobody
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: to misunderstand it. Now, if you want to talk to me,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: make an appointment. I even said at the end of
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: the letter. That's what the cold part. At the end
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: of the letter, I said something to the effect of,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: you know, please don't take offense. I said, everyone, do
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: not take offense to the new way of doing business.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: It is for the good of my personal life and enjoyment.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Thank you all. Steve hard I just you know, I
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: know I type kind of crazy, but don't take offense
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: to it because I need some space for me. And
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: I'm just saying to the everyday man that reads this,
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: here's the deal. And to my staff here on the
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: radio show, who probably wanted you to address us as well. Yes,
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: cause you're real, you're real, cleaning, you're needy, and you
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: know yes you are. Because I wanted you to address us.
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: You have us address you. Yeah, I ain't got the job.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: I didn't write y'all, no damn letter. I talked to y'all. Well,
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: thank you fired us. You already well they thank you fire.
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: That's my chance at work every day. I just came
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: in out of habit time. Junior stuff. It's not gonna
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: be pretty. I just got here. I'm going it's will
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: it turner. I'm telling you you're listening. All right, We're
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: back everybody. We got time for just one more thing
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: I want. I wanted to say this. Let me say this,
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: thank you to my staff here at the radio show
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: for always being supported. Shirley called the Tommy Julie new Man.
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: J mean you you know y'all support is is. It
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: means a lot to me. It matters because it gives
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: me a balance point because when I feel like I'm
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: under attack, you know, it's always good to know people
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: who know you and know your heart. You know, I'm
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: not a mean spirited, personal, vindictive person at all, so
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: you know it comes out that way. Yesterday was my
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: last show for the TV show in Chicago. That news
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: was passed out to the staff in March by the
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: president of in the Mall, great guy, Chris Abrego. He
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: came and informed everybody in March that the show was moving.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: That was the day after it was confirmed with me.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: We have been working on moving the show for two years,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: but it couldn't because financially. He couldn't go to Los
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Angeles financially, so guess what I get my check from
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: in them all too. So I just had to sit
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: it out with everybody else. When we finally got it
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: together in March from two thousand seventeen, he came in
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: the next day and he made the announcement to the staff.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Everybody handled it well. It's been a great group up here.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: The staff members up here in Chicago have been some
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: of the finest people I've worked with in all of
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: my television shows. And you know, at the end of
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: this season, when this year's up, I'll have seven shows
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: on the air. It's such an amazing from God. But
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: you know, that's that God. I served that that he
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: would do exceedingly and abundantly over all that I think
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: I asked. I read that Bible verse almost every single day,
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: and I lived by that fees in three twenty because
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: it's just the way God really is. I hate that
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: people are so bitter sometimes in their own space and
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: in their own life that they can't see the good
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: in what happens to them. But this show leaving Chicago
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: is a new begin inning for all of us everybody.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: People whose job ended, they have an opportunity to become
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: something else, and people whose jobs will continue, they get
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: to go and be somewhere else. It'll just be in
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: another city. The staff here has been fabulous, the cameraman,
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: the crew, great guys to produces, the young people who
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: got a start in writing here and producing. So many
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: people came over from Oprah's Oh Show. On my show,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I have a lot of staff members from from oprah Show.
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: Now this show is leaving again, and you know that
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: that's what it is. I wished that Mr Feeder had
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: had asked me, you know what I thought, but maybe
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: he didn't think that was necessary. But you know it's
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: it's it's not a one sided thing. You know. The
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: letter wrote to my staff at the beginning of the
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: year was after four years of allowing people to have
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: just complete and total access to me. And after four years,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: I had to write a note myself to say, hey, look,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: y'all gotta stop doing me this way. Y'all gotta stop
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: ambushing me in the hallways, stop walking in my dressing
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: room without knocking. Who does that? And so when I
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: wrote the note, now they send a note out like
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: I'm some ogre variety magazine who really has always done
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: positive thing about me. Those of you waiting on Steve
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Harder to come to l A, don't look for warm
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: and open arm. This is the letter he wrote to
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: his staff because I had to get myself some personal space.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: I make no apologies about the letter. I'm a cool guy.
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: But you can't walk up on Dr Phield Oprah Ellett.
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I wish you would. You can't walk up on Meredith
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: v Era. You can't just walk up on Kelly all
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: these people on daytime TV. Just try to set I'll
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: tell you what, walk upon Matt Loard and let me
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: know how they work out for you. Not that he's
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: a bad guy, it's just that he They don't allow
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: you around these people. I don't have security walking with
