- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know, y'all a sun giving them like the million
- 0:16Speaker 1: bucks bus things in the stubbs. Stood at Steve to
- 0:25Speaker 1: the mother, I don't join Jo. You gotta turn. You
- 1:24Speaker 1: gotta turn to turn them out. Turn, you got to
- 1:44Speaker 1: turn them out. Turn the water, the water go. Come
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your baby, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey, I got a radio show
- 2:12Speaker 1: him just trying to give God some back, just some
- 2:18Speaker 1: back of what even gave me, just a portion, you know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Just I'm just trying, man, to to show some type
- 2:26Speaker 1: of gratitude for all his blessings. I'm just trying to, man,
- 2:32Speaker 1: just just get it right sometimes, you know what I mean.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I mean, man, you just can't do what you want
- 2:39Speaker 1: to do and just live wrong all the time. Man,
- 2:41Speaker 1: you got it. At one point in time, Steve, come home. Man,
- 2:45Speaker 1: come on, man, you could do better. I know you can,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know, saying and you know what I had to do.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I had to stop saying I'm gonna try to do better,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and I just had to say, hey, man, I'm going
- 2:55Speaker 1: to do better. You know, trying it's just to put
- 2:59Speaker 1: forth and then if it don't work, well okay. But
- 3:02Speaker 1: if you make up in your mind that I'm going
- 3:04Speaker 1: to do something, then trying isn't enough. It's getting it
- 3:08Speaker 1: done is the only thing that matters. See, it's the
- 3:10Speaker 1: difference between doing and trying. We're gonna try to win
- 3:14Speaker 1: the game, or we're gonna go out here to win
- 3:16Speaker 1: the game. Now, trying to win the game means that
- 3:19Speaker 1: you could lose. But when you got in your mind
- 3:22Speaker 1: made up, most athletes will tell you that they go
- 3:25Speaker 1: out there with the full intent and purpose of winning
- 3:27Speaker 1: and winning only see they don't put the second place
- 3:31Speaker 1: finish on the cover Sports Illustrated. Second place don't get
- 3:34Speaker 1: you there. You got to win. And now take it
- 3:38Speaker 1: out of the scope of athletics, but keep it in
- 3:40Speaker 1: that type of type of analogy in life. Man, you
- 3:44Speaker 1: just want to you want to win in life, don't you.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I mean, at the end of the day, don't you
- 3:48Speaker 1: want to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated the life?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Don't you want to be recognized for your hard work?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Don't you want, you know, to be recognized within the
- 3:57Speaker 1: bonus structure down at your job. Don't you want to
- 4:00Speaker 1: have your plaque up on the wall down at your job?
- 4:03Speaker 1: I mean most people do. Some people could care less.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Some people don't care about looking good or being their best.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And that's cool. But I ain't talking to them though.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm talking to you. I'm talking to those of you
- 4:13Speaker 1: who want to be the best you can be. You know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: people kill me when they're getting mad at people here
- 4:19Speaker 1: and he Brown knows and he hall up on an
- 4:21Speaker 1: employee of the moth Man, the dude doing his job
- 4:24Speaker 1: to the best of his ability, and he getting recognized
- 4:26Speaker 1: for it. What they got to do? It all that
- 4:28Speaker 1: you're talking about because you ain't up there. It's amazing, man,
- 4:31Speaker 1: how people describe other people's success. He's so lucky, lucky. Hey, man,
- 4:36Speaker 1: don't they kind of get you a little bit when
- 4:38Speaker 1: people call you lucky when let me tell you what
- 4:40Speaker 1: luck really is, y'all. Luck is when hard work bumps
- 4:44Speaker 1: up into opportunity. Some people call that luck. But hold on,
- 4:49Speaker 1: let's let's think about this. If you wasn't working hard,
- 4:52Speaker 1: an opportunity presented itself, what would you call that? But see,
- 4:56Speaker 1: when you've been working hard, an opportunity presents itself and
- 4:59Speaker 1: it bumps up in each other. Now people want to
- 5:01Speaker 1: call that luck, but hold up here, go to part
- 5:03Speaker 1: though to day, ain't paying no attention to Yeah, that
- 5:05Speaker 1: opportunity came by, But if you had not been working
- 5:08Speaker 1: hard and the hard work had not ran up in
- 5:10Speaker 1: the opportunity, what would you have? No, sir, it's not luck,
- 5:14Speaker 1: it's work. It is work because as a scripture that says,
- 5:17Speaker 1: faith without works is dead. But my mama was a
- 5:22Speaker 1: Sunday school teacher. She taught me enough. Though. Now I
- 5:25Speaker 1: know different between right and wrong, just like you do.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You ain't gotta you know itcus me when people write
- 5:30Speaker 1: a strawberry letter? Am I wrong for this? You know? Good? Well,
- 5:33Speaker 1: look at let's read your letter? Are you wrong for this?
- 5:36Speaker 1: You know you're wrong? What you don't need that's to
- 5:38Speaker 1: be telling, you know? But I'm gonna do this anyway. Well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I see, Go ahead, though, do what you want to do.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But you know what, y'all, here's the best advice I
- 5:46Speaker 1: can give you. And this is what I really came
- 5:49Speaker 1: to talk about this morning, But I got sidetrack because
- 5:51Speaker 1: I listened. Get out of your own way. So many
- 5:56Speaker 1: of us are blocking our home blessings. We just in
- 6:00Speaker 1: own way. We are in our own way, And one
- 6:04Speaker 1: of the most dangerous ways you can get in your
- 6:06Speaker 1: way is to do it your way, to get it
- 6:10Speaker 1: figured your way, and to lock in on your way
- 6:14Speaker 1: and just the way it's got to go. Do you
- 6:16Speaker 1: know how many people are blocking a blessing? Do you
- 6:18Speaker 1: know how long I blocked mine? With that mindset? Right there? Look,
- 6:24Speaker 1: because it's the way you do it, Do you think
- 6:26Speaker 1: that make it the right way? You think, jazz, because
- 6:29Speaker 1: you'd have thought on it long and hard, and that's
- 6:30Speaker 1: what you really want. Do you really think that your
- 6:33Speaker 1: way is the right way or could that be a
- 6:35Speaker 1: better way? See? Until I started listening to God and
- 6:39Speaker 1: started paying attention to his way, man, I was spending
- 6:42Speaker 1: my wheels. Man, I was out here so determined this
- 6:45Speaker 1: how I was going to do it. But you know
- 6:48Speaker 1: I had to learn how to get out of my
- 6:49Speaker 1: own way because just because I could do it my
- 6:52Speaker 1: way didn't mean it was the right way. I had
- 6:55Speaker 1: to get out of my own way. Just get out
- 7:00Speaker 1: your way, man, Now, what what does that mean? That means? See,
- 7:06Speaker 1: set your goals, That means have your dreams. That I'm saying,
- 7:13Speaker 1: set your goals. Man, I ain't saying don't set goals.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Listen to me. Set your goals. What is it you
- 7:18Speaker 1: want to happen? What is it you like to have?
- 7:20Speaker 1: What is it you like to be? What are you
- 7:22Speaker 1: aspire to? Set your goals and set your dreams. Now
- 7:28Speaker 1: take your goals and your dreams to God and ask
- 7:32Speaker 1: God to show you how. Man, you can save yourself
- 7:36Speaker 1: a lot of pain. Listen to somebody who did it
- 7:40Speaker 1: his way for so long. And when I finally got
- 7:43Speaker 1: out of my way, out of my own way. When
- 7:47Speaker 1: you've heard old people say, let go and let God,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you've heard them say that I didn't. I didn't get it,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but I got it. Now let go and let God.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And it's amazing little saying. Though now you know you
- 7:59Speaker 1: may not get it now. It took me a bunch
- 8:01Speaker 1: of years to get it too. But when I took
- 8:03Speaker 1: my goals and my dreams and my vision to God
- 8:08Speaker 1: and I said, God, this is what I hope for,
- 8:10Speaker 1: this is what I aspired to, this is what I
- 8:12Speaker 1: want to be, this is why I would love to
- 8:14Speaker 1: get to. Then I said, help me show me how.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Point me in the right direction. Let me follow your
- 8:22Speaker 1: footsteps guide me and give me a spirit of discernment.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Show me who wrong? Because I meet people every day.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Ain't up to no good with me every single day.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Oh man, man, I can't believe I run up in
- 8:35Speaker 1: to you. Man, the Lord told me something's gonna happen
- 8:37Speaker 1: to me today. Well, see, I talked to him every day.
- 8:40Speaker 1: He did not mention you to me. He ain't said
- 8:44Speaker 1: nothing to me. He didn't tell me what's gonna happen
- 8:46Speaker 1: in mind. Now I don't mean it can't happen because
- 8:48Speaker 1: I'm open to it. So really, man, I'm and and
- 8:52Speaker 1: please no, I'm listening it as well as I've ever
- 8:54Speaker 1: listened before. But but get yourself together, though, see no,
- 8:59Speaker 1: your goals in your dreams, and then let God show
- 9:01Speaker 1: you how to do it. He'll do it. You know.
- 9:04Speaker 1: It's so important everybody, that you get focused, that you
- 9:08Speaker 1: aim for something, that you dream of, something, that you
- 9:11Speaker 1: aspire to something. But it's the most the best thing
- 9:14Speaker 1: you can do. After you do all that, Man, get
- 9:16Speaker 1: God involved in it. Man, talk to him. I mean,
- 9:19Speaker 1: why would you not what you got to lose. You
- 9:22Speaker 1: ain't got to go down there and make no big
- 9:23Speaker 1: scene and run laps around the church and run up
- 9:26Speaker 1: there and throw yourself on the altar and scream and
- 9:29Speaker 1: flip over and throw money in the air. You ain't
- 9:31Speaker 1: got to do that. This you and God, man, This
- 9:34Speaker 1: you and God. You know you got to serve and
- 9:36Speaker 1: praise him the way you do it. You gotta let
- 9:38Speaker 1: nobody else tell you high's done. It's a personal relationship.
- 9:42Speaker 1: People kill me if you don't do it this way.
- 9:44Speaker 1: If you don't come here to this church and you
- 9:45Speaker 1: don't run around in this circle, and you don't get
- 9:47Speaker 1: flipped in and you don't, hey man, you better go
- 9:50Speaker 1: have a relationship with God. See what that's about. You understand?
- 9:52Speaker 1: Nobody throw you off with all that? All right, all right,
- 9:55Speaker 1: y'all talk to him. He loved to hear from you today.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening Shelly. Ladies and gentlemen may have your attention. Please.
- 10:05Speaker 1: It's morning time. It's time for the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:09Speaker 1: This that I'm about to do is dedicated to Shirley Strawberry.
- 10:14Speaker 1: This is her favorite Quarantine song. Hit it jass ja
- 10:25Speaker 1: ja ja, Let me of here quoey who I won't hurt? Yes?
- 10:45Speaker 1: So that was for you, Shirley. Ladies and gentlemen, we
- 10:48Speaker 1: are here trying to bring a moment of levity. You know,
- 10:52Speaker 1: the racial injustice has gotten so big in this country
- 10:57Speaker 1: that we've stopped talking about COVID Night Team, and uh,
- 11:02Speaker 1: we're still supposed to be wearing masks. I want to
- 11:04Speaker 1: just remind y'all of that. Why are you protesting? Get
- 11:08Speaker 1: your mask on? Don't take your mask off and turn
- 11:12Speaker 1: around and hard at me? What do we want? Quick?
- 11:17Speaker 1: What do we want? Hey man on the blowing all
- 11:20Speaker 1: them w's on me? Put your mask off? What do
- 11:22Speaker 1: we want when you embarrassed me every single day of
- 11:28Speaker 1: what do we want your damn mask on? So we
- 11:34Speaker 1: can protest and live to see the results? Surely Strawberry,
- 11:40Speaker 1: Good morning, crazy man called for real? Yet my fist
- 11:45Speaker 1: up on zoom? Good morning black want everybody up? We're
- 11:52Speaker 1: still Jesus, I can't Why wouldn't you be Junior Tom?
- 12:04Speaker 1: What what we who? Queen? No? I can't go to
- 12:10Speaker 1: no protest where hey, dude, at the protest with the
- 12:19Speaker 1: speech impediment, You don't. You can't join me because you
- 12:23Speaker 1: don't know what he's talking about? Where what happens? This
- 12:29Speaker 1: will have those stupid right here. But just my phone.
- 12:34Speaker 1: You try to make us laugh wa wo shut up?
- 12:39Speaker 1: When every hey wh why ain't it where white white
- 12:53Speaker 1: wash wh whah was to say we want justice? Uh,
- 13:05Speaker 1: we're just trying to put it. You know why you
- 13:09Speaker 1: have to protest and listen to me. Learn your lines
- 13:13Speaker 1: before you protest, and don't try nothing new. We have
- 13:17Speaker 1: standard protest line. Just used him. What do we want justice?
- 13:23Speaker 1: When do we want it? When just Jesus the lines
- 13:27Speaker 1: don't write nothing new. We can't follow you. We got
- 13:32Speaker 1: time for this, Okay, coming up in thirty two minutes
- 13:35Speaker 1: after the hour. Finally, all four officers have been charged
- 13:39Speaker 1: in George Floyd's murder. Yes, we'll talk about that right
- 13:42Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to Steve Morning Show. Well, we
- 13:48Speaker 1: do finally have something that is making sense in the
- 13:51Speaker 1: George Floyd murder investigation. First, Derek Chauvin, the former cop
- 13:56Speaker 1: who was charged with third degree murder in the death
- 13:59Speaker 1: of George Floyd. His charges have been upgraded to second
- 14:02Speaker 1: degree murder. Now second degree murder does not require premeditation,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but does require proof of an intent to kill. The
- 14:10Speaker 1: other officers have been charged with aiding and abetting second
- 14:15Speaker 1: degree manslaughter. They faced forty years each of the same
- 14:19Speaker 1: punishment for second degree murder. Kay, thank you. The Attorney
- 14:25Speaker 1: General in Minnesota, Keith Allen, can I ask a question,
- 14:29Speaker 1: do we have to pray on the jury? Is that
- 14:32Speaker 1: where we got to focus on that? We get my opinion.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Hands will roll on this one because it has created
- 14:42Speaker 1: such a stir outside of the African American community. When
- 14:50Speaker 1: the senator of that state gets involved, when the mayor
- 14:55Speaker 1: of that city gets involved, when people are around the
- 15:01Speaker 1: nation outside of our race get involved, heads will roll
- 15:06Speaker 1: because now you have to explain it under peer pressure.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Because now as you go to your country clubs, and
- 15:12Speaker 1: you go to your social gatherings, and you go to
- 15:15Speaker 1: your churches, and you go to your houses, see people
- 15:17Speaker 1: come to your house and protests. Now see what happened
- 15:20Speaker 1: to this cop. People came to his house to protest.
- 15:23Speaker 1: See never before does the protest get to come to
- 15:26Speaker 1: their neighborhood. It always stays in hours. And I do
- 15:30Speaker 1: believe that heads will roll this time, I really really do. Yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 1: he is right. He will face trial amongst the jury
- 15:37Speaker 1: of his peers. They will, yeah, And for the first
- 15:41Speaker 1: time that they're they're upset because now they didn't shot
- 15:45Speaker 1: white girls in the stomach with rubber bullets. They pushing
- 15:49Speaker 1: white people to the ground with their hands straight up
- 15:52Speaker 1: in their hair something. They're going, what you pushed me?
- 15:56Speaker 1: They pushed the protest that the protesters said, look did
- 15:59Speaker 1: you see him? And and that's jack. You know how
- 16:04Speaker 1: long we've been saying that, M yeah, yeah, yeah, And
- 16:09Speaker 1: we don't we don't even get to rubber Boody, right,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and why we're protesting, right. And I do very much
- 16:18Speaker 1: appreciate the number of non African Americans who have decided
- 16:24Speaker 1: to stand with us. The part the people that I'm
- 16:29Speaker 1: missing though, And I'm going to release a letter next week.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm trying to find the right way to put it,
- 16:37Speaker 1: but I want to write an open letter to the
- 16:40Speaker 1: Southern Baptist Convention, the largest white evangelical organization in the world.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm surprised that when we have these moments like this,
- 16:54Speaker 1: that I never hear from this religious organization, this this
- 16:59Speaker 1: group of Christians. Well, you know, Steve, the ku Klux
- 17:03Speaker 1: Klan used to burn crosses and that's the Christian symbol
- 17:07Speaker 1: across you know what I mean. Yeah, So it doesn't
- 17:14Speaker 1: surprise me, it doesn't. I mean, you would think as Christians,
- 17:17Speaker 1: because that's what we're taught to love one another and
- 17:21Speaker 1: all of that, you know, to follow Jesus, follow Christ
- 17:23Speaker 1: and everything. But it hasn't been the case. You're absolutely right.
- 17:27Speaker 1: They've been conspicuously silent. I'm absolutely and I'm not angry
- 17:33Speaker 1: because I don't really expect anybody. But since we have
- 17:40Speaker 1: this such for the first time, an outcry outside of
- 17:44Speaker 1: the African American community, it's becoming even more alarming for
- 17:49Speaker 1: the ones who don't. And I'm just wondering what that
- 17:55Speaker 1: organization says about this. And I've been trying to do
- 17:58Speaker 1: some research that mostly conservative of values, which I'm okay
- 18:02Speaker 1: with conservative values, but does do those conservative values include
- 18:08Speaker 1: people of color? It's what I want to know. Look
- 18:12Speaker 1: at the churches on Sunday. Yeah, I just want to know.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Is that it's a Southern Baptist convention. Is that inclusive
- 18:20Speaker 1: of blacks? Are they welcome there? I'm not talking about Yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I want, I want. I want to learn more about that.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You know what, I would love to interview one of
- 18:30Speaker 1: the top representatives from that organization to find out more
- 18:34Speaker 1: about what they stand for and represent, because they got
- 18:37Speaker 1: to be a great Christian organization and they have to
- 18:39Speaker 1: be open to all people, and they have to be
- 18:42Speaker 1: considered of the teachings of Jesus Christ. So I would
- 18:46Speaker 1: really like to know why is it that we always
- 18:49Speaker 1: just see black ministers. I'm confused now what you're asking.
- 18:54Speaker 1: What you're asking is valid, true questions, and we need
- 19:01Speaker 1: everybody on TVN outside we h. I mean you ask it.
- 19:09Speaker 1: If not now, when, Steve, if not now when? But
- 19:12Speaker 1: a lot of those churches are very segregated on Sundays.
- 19:15Speaker 1: If you just you know, pay attention they are. Unfortunately,
- 19:19Speaker 1: that's the way it is. I mean, you know it's
- 19:21Speaker 1: it's a lot of black churches that's segregated too, for
- 19:24Speaker 1: the way they worship. I don't have a problem with that.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I have a problem with when you see injustice and
- 19:30Speaker 1: you see something morally wrong that goes against the teachings
- 19:34Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. Why isn't there a banding together of
- 19:38Speaker 1: just Christians. You can go to whatever church you loved,
- 19:41Speaker 1: because I like drums and stuff, so I want to
- 19:43Speaker 1: go to church where they jamming, you know, I like that.
- 19:46Speaker 1: That's how I grew up. So I don't want to
- 19:48Speaker 1: go and saying out to him book that ain't. I
- 19:51Speaker 1: don't like that. Yes, I know, but it's cool, it's
- 19:56Speaker 1: nothing wrong with it. I need a drumma. I need
- 20:02Speaker 1: a group in that giving it to me, because that's
- 20:04Speaker 1: how that's how I feel. I like that type of worship,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and I'm okay with people who don't. I just want
- 20:10Speaker 1: to know, though morally wrong things, there's a time for
- 20:16Speaker 1: all of the different ways of worship to come together
- 20:20Speaker 1: to collectively address the things that are against the teachings
- 20:26Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. And if you don't do that, what
- 20:31Speaker 1: are you saying that? I want to talk to somebody
- 20:33Speaker 1: to help us understand why they get very quiet a
- 20:37Speaker 1: moment and like this one right here, the biggest moment
- 20:39Speaker 1: we've had in a long time and the most unity,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and I don't hear them at all. Yeah, all right,
- 20:44Speaker 1: Steve valid points all of them. Coming up next, we're
- 20:47Speaker 1: gonna switch gears and bring in the nephew with run
- 20:50Speaker 1: that prank back right after this, you're listening, coming up
- 20:58Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, and it's standing by
- 21:01Speaker 1: with more of today's national news. Also at the top
- 21:04Speaker 1: of the hour, some trending news and how everyone misses
- 21:06Speaker 1: former President Obama. Did you see him yesterday. Did you
- 21:11Speaker 1: yea right now nephew in the building with today's run
- 21:16Speaker 1: that prank back? What you got for is ne well
- 21:19Speaker 1: o case you missed yesterday. You know, it comes a
- 21:21Speaker 1: time when you want to make a you know, you
- 21:23Speaker 1: want to make a wish. You know when you they
- 21:26Speaker 1: have these organizations make a wish ministry where you can whatever.
- 21:29Speaker 1: So yeah, you just make a wish, you know, things
- 21:34Speaker 1: things people won't they need as well. It's pretty crazy.
- 21:40Speaker 1: And to make a wish ministry is here for that.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Let's take a listen, Come on, cat dog, make a
- 21:44Speaker 1: wish ministry New Baptist. This is Terrence Man. Help you please,
- 21:49Speaker 1: brother Terrace. Yeah, how are you doing? I got your
- 21:53Speaker 1: your number? You with the over the church? You would
- 21:56Speaker 1: to make a wish ministry? Yes, I am I gonna
- 21:59Speaker 1: help you. Listen. I'm I'm actually uh, I'm I'm terminally ill.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Brother's brother Terrence. And I don't you know as far
- 22:10Speaker 1: as what the doctors tell me, it could be six
- 22:13Speaker 1: months or another year, but I know my time here
- 22:18Speaker 1: is definitely limited. You know. Well, I'm sorry to hear that,
- 22:21Speaker 1: but we're definitely here to help you out with whatever
- 22:24Speaker 1: you need or whatever we can help you with. So
- 22:27Speaker 1: what can we do for you? Well? You know, I
- 22:30Speaker 1: truly believe that sometimes people have you know, I've seen
- 22:34Speaker 1: one of the mold movies they got with it got
- 22:36Speaker 1: a bucket list or whatever they called it. You know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: people trying to do things before they leave here. I
- 22:41Speaker 1: guess I'm just sitting around trying to figure out what
- 22:43Speaker 1: I could do and what I wanted to do before
- 22:45Speaker 1: I left this world and went on to what he
- 22:49Speaker 1: has for me. Nix. You know, I don't believe in
- 22:52Speaker 1: doing anything unless it's preyed on first. Oh yeah, if
- 22:57Speaker 1: you don't mind, maybe you can. You know, before I
- 23:00Speaker 1: can tell you my wish, we pray that the wishould
- 23:03Speaker 1: come true. You you you're not doing anything like that.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Oh no, I don't mind praying. That's what we're here for. Now.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Your head with him, yes, yr, sir, is your head,
- 23:13Speaker 1: by your sir, Your sir, O the God. We come
- 23:16Speaker 1: to you in the armless way. We know how Lord,
- 23:20Speaker 1: we ask you to touch this young man and every
- 23:23Speaker 1: which way he heard, and then we ask you to
- 23:26Speaker 1: deliver him for whatever is going on with him, and
- 23:29Speaker 1: let him know that we the church is here to
- 23:31Speaker 1: help him with whatever his needs is in his last days,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and Jesus's name, I pray say amen with him. Man,
- 23:40Speaker 1: it's gonna do it here. Now you a member of
- 23:43Speaker 1: the church here of New Well, I was a member.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I still consider myself. Remember it's just been quite some time,
- 23:51Speaker 1: probably over a year and a half, two years, as
- 23:53Speaker 1: I've been able to come, you know, through to my
- 23:56Speaker 1: my illness. But definitely I will remember that. Well, that's
- 24:00Speaker 1: all right. We're not worried about all that. We just
- 24:02Speaker 1: here to take care of your last and final wish.
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's what our minister is for. You know. We help
- 24:09Speaker 1: people with with with anything they need, you know, like
- 24:13Speaker 1: what what what all I mean when when people call
- 24:15Speaker 1: them won't say what all of you you are? What
- 24:18Speaker 1: all of y'all helped them with? Well, we've helped them
- 24:21Speaker 1: with the rent, uh, take them to the store, help
- 24:26Speaker 1: them with a utility bill, come out and cut the grass,
- 24:29Speaker 1: anything like that they just can't do. Take them to
- 24:32Speaker 1: the doctor's appointment. Anything we'd like to help them with
- 24:35Speaker 1: we do exactly. Then Okay, well I pretty much got
- 24:40Speaker 1: those things taken care of. I think what I'd like
- 24:43Speaker 1: to do between you and and myself, Brothers, ton, And
- 24:47Speaker 1: I've never told anyone what I'm about to tell you.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I've never been with a with a woman before. Huh.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm thirty eight, but I've never been
- 25:00Speaker 1: with a woman. Well, I guess that might be a blessing.
- 25:03Speaker 1: You might you might be here. That's a good thing. Well,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you know, but sometimes you know, I give before I leave.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I guess that's a desire that I have. And and
- 25:12Speaker 1: and uh, what I wanted to ask you was there
- 25:16Speaker 1: is a lady there at the church, and before I leave,
- 25:21Speaker 1: I think that's the woman that I would actually like
- 25:25Speaker 1: to be with. Well, I don't know if Make a
- 25:28Speaker 1: Wish ministry can support that kind of stuff, but uh,
- 25:31Speaker 1: go ahead, let me hear, Okay that the lady that
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm actually interested in actually, uh she works at the
- 25:39Speaker 1: church too. When I see she's done of a tall
- 25:43Speaker 1: when she's about five nine, and she's probably about a
- 25:46Speaker 1: size eight, beautiful long leagues man and and and and
- 25:51Speaker 1: sandy type of half sandy color for Sandy brown man.
- 25:55Speaker 1: And I mean she looked like care man. Hol on
- 25:58Speaker 1: a minute, what's her name? I think her name Linda.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Now hold on, that's my wife. What you mean, go
- 26:07Speaker 1: ahead and see wait wait wait, wait, wait wait wait
- 26:09Speaker 1: Linda your wife? Yeah, that's my wife? You Sorrnce? What
- 26:13Speaker 1: do you mean? Listen? Y'all are ministry now now, if
- 26:18Speaker 1: y'all supposed to be taking care of people, don't make
- 26:20Speaker 1: a wish and then taking care of what they want
- 26:22Speaker 1: before they leave this world? If that's my wish, what
- 26:25Speaker 1: is the problem listening here? You didn't cross every line
- 26:28Speaker 1: there was about this man, so I don't give a
- 26:30Speaker 1: damn about it. I'm you're talking about sleeping with my
- 26:33Speaker 1: Why if I see y'all gonna do something to you,
- 26:35Speaker 1: they ain't gonna even be able to recognize you. So
- 26:38Speaker 1: what the you talking about? Missing with my wife? Son
- 26:40Speaker 1: of um? I called miss Linda myself and see it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: You know, have a problem? Was helping me make my
- 26:45Speaker 1: wish come true God and calling you won't call nobody else.
- 26:50Speaker 1: That would be the last call you make. I thought
- 26:53Speaker 1: y'all were here to relieve people so they can enjoy
- 26:57Speaker 1: themselves before they leave this world. You talk about sleeping
- 27:01Speaker 1: with my wife? Are you crazy? But? But if I'm
- 27:03Speaker 1: trying to leave here, ain't nobody gonna know? But you
- 27:06Speaker 1: want hush? I don't care if you die. I don't care.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You ain't sleeping with my wife and your food with her.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You probably gonna go ahead and die quicker than you
- 27:14Speaker 1: need to. I thought this was a ministry. I don't
- 27:17Speaker 1: tell you now you won't. They're telling me about then.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Y'all supposed to be a ministry to help people before
- 27:23Speaker 1: they live. Word what it is. But you talk about
- 27:25Speaker 1: sleeping with my wife. You got an illness, But something
- 27:28Speaker 1: must be wrong with your ain't talking about missing with
- 27:31Speaker 1: man wife? Ain't nobody don't even know? I think what
- 27:32Speaker 1: your wife wants. I'm gonna there ain't gonna people the
- 27:34Speaker 1: tool y'all. At least you would have helped me before.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I love. I can't help you with nothing. And let
- 27:39Speaker 1: me tell you something. I'm not the preacher, I'm not
- 27:42Speaker 1: the past I'm not the deacon, I'm not none of them.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But if you mentioned my wife, you're gonna know who
- 27:47Speaker 1: I am. I'm gonna be the undertaker. Do you understand?
- 27:50Speaker 1: I here what you say. But I got one more
- 27:52Speaker 1: thing I need to tell you about who I am.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Who asked you? Isn't it to go ahead? Let me
- 27:57Speaker 1: head this is you talk from Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Your wife, Linda, y'all me the phrase, no y'all tell
- 28:06Speaker 1: me to pay you. Y ain't recording this is it's
- 28:15Speaker 1: recording every last bit of hammers last ain't gonna hear
- 28:20Speaker 1: this is? Oh god, I got one more thing. What
- 28:27Speaker 1: is the baddest and I mean the radio show in
- 28:31Speaker 1: the land, Steve Harvey Morning Show. Do I make y'all proud?
- 28:35Speaker 1: It's all I want to do? That's yeah, that one
- 28:38Speaker 1: was pretty stupid a proud but you are the But
- 28:45Speaker 1: you know who I love the most. His reaction when
- 28:49Speaker 1: he found out who you was talking about, my wife.
- 28:55Speaker 1: The transition was immediate. It wasn't It wasn't no wait
- 28:59Speaker 1: a minute, male, no, it was He turned and spun
- 29:02Speaker 1: immediately with those pastors profanity immediately. Entertainment and national news
- 29:11Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour. Right after this,
- 29:14Speaker 1: you're listening to Dave Harvey Morning Show. Coming up in
- 29:19Speaker 1: about four minutes. Miss Anne will tell us more about
- 29:22Speaker 1: the charges on all four of the former Minneapolis police
- 29:25Speaker 1: officers and the murder investigation of George Floyd. Also in
- 29:28Speaker 1: trending news, President Obama personally thanked protesters and urged young
- 29:33Speaker 1: African Americans to feel hopeful. Take a listen now. I
- 29:37Speaker 1: want to speak directly to the young men and women
- 29:39Speaker 1: color in this country who has planned us so eloquently
- 29:44Speaker 1: described had witnessed too much violence and too much to that,
- 29:48Speaker 1: and too often some of that violence has come from
- 29:53Speaker 1: folks who were supposed to be serving and protecting you.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I want you to know that you matter. I want
- 30:00Speaker 1: you to know that your lives matter, that your dreams matter.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And when I go home and I look at the
- 30:04Speaker 1: faces of my daughter Sasha and Malia, and I look
- 30:07Speaker 1: at my nephews and nieces, I see limitless potential that
- 30:11Speaker 1: deserves to flourish and thrive. And you should be able
- 30:14Speaker 1: to learn and make mistakes and live a life or
- 30:17Speaker 1: joy without having to worry about what's going to happen
- 30:19Speaker 1: when you walk to the store or go for a job,
- 30:21Speaker 1: or are driving down the street or looking at some
- 30:26Speaker 1: birds in a park. And so I hope that you
- 30:29Speaker 1: also feel hopeful, even as you may feel angry, because
- 30:34Speaker 1: you have the power to make things better, and you
- 30:36Speaker 1: have helped to make the entire country feel as if
- 30:41Speaker 1: this is something that's got to change. You've communicated a
- 30:44Speaker 1: sense of urgency that is as powerful and as transformative
- 30:49Speaker 1: as anything that I've seen in recent years. Wow, and
- 30:55Speaker 1: that ladies in jails the President how it's supposed to
- 30:59Speaker 1: be ill. If you're in a leadership capacity and you
- 31:08Speaker 1: don't have that type of sensibility right there, then you're
- 31:13Speaker 1: lacking in a major quality that would make you inadequate
- 31:18Speaker 1: or a meaningful leader. And that's what's missing in this country.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Because I've noticed President Trump. He used to give a
- 31:27Speaker 1: news conference every day when when the COVID was running pandemic.
- 31:33Speaker 1: But then what happened was, as he saw he couldn't
- 31:37Speaker 1: beat this invisible enemy, and that death toll kept climbing
- 31:40Speaker 1: up behind him and under him, he got off TV.
- 31:43Speaker 1: He ain't mentioned COVID since. So what he had to
- 31:47Speaker 1: do was he had to find a visible enemy. And
- 31:50Speaker 1: again it was us, just like it was Colin Kaepernick,
- 31:54Speaker 1: and his visible enemy became us. And so now guess what.
- 31:58Speaker 1: He has not opened his mouth to say anything about
- 32:02Speaker 1: social injustice, equal rights, unfair treatment. He made that call
- 32:08Speaker 1: to the Floyd family, but that's because they told him
- 32:11Speaker 1: that was it. He hasn't spoken to the protesters to
- 32:15Speaker 1: give them hope, clarity, and then he waited on the
- 32:19Speaker 1: right time to come up with another enemy. And guess
- 32:23Speaker 1: what it is the protesters that are burning and looting,
- 32:27Speaker 1: and now he wants to call himself the law and
- 32:30Speaker 1: order president. That's what he attaches himself to is the
- 32:35Speaker 1: negativity versus what we just heard from a person who
- 32:39Speaker 1: understands real leadership because he understood real service. If you've
- 32:46Speaker 1: never been a great servant, you can never be a
- 32:49Speaker 1: great leader, That's true. Did you see? But what about
- 32:55Speaker 1: the people on social media? This guy tweet? Look at
- 32:58Speaker 1: President Obama? Now you're just showing off all the subject
- 33:00Speaker 1: and berb agreement sentences. And we miss you, President Obama,
- 33:09Speaker 1: We really really miss you, really vocabular great, all right,
- 33:18Speaker 1: mane let's move on. Time for today's headlines. Please, ladies
- 33:22Speaker 1: and gentlemen. Miss Anne Trip, thank you, thank you very much,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and here we go. You know, as rumored, prosecutors in
- 33:28Speaker 1: Minnesota did up the charges against Derek Chauvin, the white
- 33:32Speaker 1: now X Minneapolis cops scene on video kneeling on mister
- 33:35Speaker 1: George Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes, three of
- 33:38Speaker 1: those minutes after the unarmed black man had stopped moving,
- 33:41Speaker 1: and State Attorney General Keith Elson says that The video
- 33:44Speaker 1: of Floyd's horrific broad daylight murder has resulted in worldwide outrage.
- 33:48Speaker 1: We're here today because George Floyd is not here. You
- 33:52Speaker 1: should be alive, but he's not. About nine days ago,
- 33:55Speaker 1: the world watched Toloyd. There is very last words. I
- 33:59Speaker 1: can't breathe as he pled for his life. The world
- 34:01Speaker 1: heard Floyd call out for his mama and cried out,
- 34:04Speaker 1: don't kill me. Chauvin's now charged with second degree murder,
- 34:07Speaker 1: which carries up to forty years in prison. And the
- 34:10Speaker 1: other three officers and they also fired, but they were
- 34:13Speaker 1: on the scene that day. They're accused of aiding and
- 34:15Speaker 1: abetting murder. So actually if they were convicted on that charge,
- 34:18Speaker 1: they would also face as much or up to forty
- 34:21Speaker 1: years in prison. By the way, Chauvin still faces the
- 34:23Speaker 1: charges that were slapped on him last week. That was
- 34:26Speaker 1: third degree murder and second degree manslaughter. The AG is
- 34:29Speaker 1: recommending bail for each of the ex cops to be
- 34:32Speaker 1: set at a million bucks. By the way, a memorial
- 34:34Speaker 1: service is being held in Minneapolis this afternoon for the
- 34:36Speaker 1: late George Floyd. The Reverend Al Sharpton is to deliver
- 34:39Speaker 1: the eulogy. Looks like President Trump mean while just itching
- 34:42Speaker 1: to send the US Army into American cities to quell
- 34:45Speaker 1: the unrest that has resulted from George Floyd's murder. However, surprise, surprise,
- 34:49Speaker 1: Defense Secretary markat Esper going against him. He says a
- 34:53Speaker 1: military should only be deployed under the most dire circumstances,
- 34:56Speaker 1: which he says is not this situation. Option to use
- 34:59Speaker 1: acted duty forces in a law enforcement role should only
- 35:02Speaker 1: be used as a matter of last resort and only
- 35:04Speaker 1: in the most urgent and dire of situations. We are
- 35:08Speaker 1: not in one of those situations now. I do not
- 35:12Speaker 1: support invoking the Insurrection Act, and amazingly he's gone even further.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I want to extend the deepest of condolences to the
- 35:19Speaker 1: family and friends of George Floyd from me and the Department.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Racism is real in America and we must all do
- 35:27Speaker 1: our very best to recognize it, to confront it, and
- 35:30Speaker 1: to eradicate it. That was a Secretary of Defense. Italy,
- 35:33Speaker 1: the first Western country to be hit by the coronavirus,
- 35:36Speaker 1: has now become the first European country to fully reopen
- 35:39Speaker 1: its international borders. Italy has also dropped its fourteen day
- 35:42Speaker 1: quarantine requirement for foreign folks coming in. However, it's EU
- 35:46Speaker 1: neighbors not doing the same exact, not yet anyway, Austrian
- 35:49Speaker 1: Switzerland maintaining border checks with Italy for now. Delta Airlines
- 35:52Speaker 1: has announced it intends to maintain social distancing on all
- 35:55Speaker 1: of its flights through the end of September. That'll mean
- 35:58Speaker 1: that middle seats will be blocked off while capping the
- 36:02Speaker 1: number of people in the hope in the cabin, you know,
- 36:04Speaker 1: just generally flying planes that are about sixty percent full.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening
- 36:10Speaker 1: to the Steven Show. So Steve, on this break, let's
- 36:14Speaker 1: try to make people laugh. Okay, that's what you're the
- 36:17Speaker 1: best at. Ever this We're going to do a quick
- 36:20Speaker 1: fast round of ass the clo. Okay, all right. You
- 36:23Speaker 1: can submit your questions to Steve at Steve Harvey FM
- 36:26Speaker 1: dot com. That's to the clo. This one. Steve is
- 36:28Speaker 1: from Jewel in Norfolk, Virginia. Jewell says, I've been married
- 36:32Speaker 1: for only three years and my husband has one flaw
- 36:35Speaker 1: that irks me. Whenever we're out. I can be in
- 36:38Speaker 1: the middle of a conversation and he's staring at a
- 36:41Speaker 1: woman with a nice body walking by. He also will
- 36:45Speaker 1: smile and nod his head at a woman if he
- 36:47Speaker 1: gets her attention. He says he's from the South and
- 36:50Speaker 1: that's how men and women greet each other. It really
- 36:52Speaker 1: messes up my self esteem when he does it. How
- 36:55Speaker 1: can I get him to stop this? Well, I mean
- 36:58Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know how to tell you to
- 37:00Speaker 1: stop it. But let's talk about what you just wrote
- 37:02Speaker 1: in First, you said what irks me is I could
- 37:05Speaker 1: be in the middle of a conversation. What is these
- 37:08Speaker 1: conversations about? Because obviously he ain't paying attention. Oh okay, no, no, no,
- 37:15Speaker 1: listen to me. I'm not no, I'm not saying she's
- 37:17Speaker 1: doing anything wrong. I want you just statement but you're
- 37:21Speaker 1: boring ass conversation and then can come to this chick. Now.
- 37:27Speaker 1: The other reason, and the real reason is the reason
- 37:31Speaker 1: he does it repeatedly is because there are no consequences
- 37:34Speaker 1: for doing it. All it do is irk you. You
- 37:39Speaker 1: he has no consequences and you be in irk. Guess
- 37:42Speaker 1: what he hadn't told you. I'm from the South. We gentlemen,
- 37:45Speaker 1: we speaks to women. Okay, how you doing? Man? The
- 37:50Speaker 1: truth is hell. No, I'm telling you that's what he
- 37:54Speaker 1: hadn't told her. And if you're englant enough to go
- 37:57Speaker 1: with that, we from the South. Everybody on this from
- 38:00Speaker 1: the South. But we got wives. Man, We're gonna go
- 38:04Speaker 1: STU that I'm Marjorie walking out. Margie from South too,
- 38:08Speaker 1: that's the damn problem. Call her from the South. That's
- 38:12Speaker 1: the other damn problem. That's Sherlan Country. Add from the
- 38:16Speaker 1: South because she really from Marginsa Chicago, Thank you people,
- 38:23Speaker 1: wasn't from Chicago. All the people from Arkansas? My mom?
- 38:30Speaker 1: How do get Arkansas? All? Right? Here we go with
- 38:34Speaker 1: another question? Uh. This is from Sarah and uh Terrell, Texas.
- 38:40Speaker 1: She says, I am a forty four year old woman
- 38:43Speaker 1: dating a thirty six year old man, and a woman
- 38:47Speaker 1: called me recently and said she has been having unprotected
- 38:50Speaker 1: sex with my man. My man acted shocked and said
- 38:53Speaker 1: it's his crazy ex playing games. Needless to say, we
- 38:56Speaker 1: haven't had sex since I got the call. It called
- 38:58Speaker 1: his X and invited her over so we could talk,
- 39:01Speaker 1: but she swears she didn't call me. Should I keep
- 39:03Speaker 1: trying to get to the bottom of this mess or
- 39:05Speaker 1: tell this man to go find someone his age to
- 39:08Speaker 1: play with you call somebody to come. Want to get
- 39:12Speaker 1: to the bottom of it, Steve, Well, the lady said
- 39:14Speaker 1: she didn't have sex, would he, So she's just supposed
- 39:17Speaker 1: to take her word? All right, we gotta go. Coming
- 39:20Speaker 1: up next to Saints quarterback Drew Brees is in hot water. Wow,
- 39:25Speaker 1: we'll talk about what he said my rootball team. Don't
- 39:29Speaker 1: be saying super stupids right after this. You're listening to
- 39:33Speaker 1: show Well, Carla, your husband. I'm sure he's in a
- 39:38Speaker 1: funk right now, but oh he's furious. Yeah. NFL Saints
- 39:43Speaker 1: quarterback Drew Brees is facing a lot of backlash. During
- 39:46Speaker 1: a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Drew said that he
- 39:50Speaker 1: viewed kneeling during the national anthem. He thinks it's disrespectful
- 39:54Speaker 1: to the flag. Take a listen. I will never agree
- 39:57Speaker 1: with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of
- 40:01Speaker 1: America or our country. Let me just tell you what
- 40:04Speaker 1: I see or what I feel when the national anthem
- 40:07Speaker 1: is played, and when I look at the flag of
- 40:09Speaker 1: the United States, I envision my two grandfathers who fought
- 40:13Speaker 1: for this country during World War Two, one in the
- 40:16Speaker 1: army and one of the marine Corps, both risking their
- 40:19Speaker 1: lives to protect our country and to try to make
- 40:22Speaker 1: our country and this world a better place. So every
- 40:26Speaker 1: time I stand with my hand over my heart looking
- 40:29Speaker 1: at that flag and singing the national anthem, that's what
- 40:32Speaker 1: I think about, And in many cases it brings me
- 40:34Speaker 1: to tears thinking about all that has been sacrificed, not
- 40:37Speaker 1: just those in the military, but for that matter, those
- 40:40Speaker 1: throughout the civil rights movements of the sixties and everyone
- 40:44Speaker 1: and all that has been endured by so many people
- 40:47Speaker 1: up until this point. And is everything right with our
- 40:50Speaker 1: country right now? No, it's not. We still have a
- 40:53Speaker 1: long way to go. But I think what you do
- 40:55Speaker 1: by standing there and showing respect to the flag with
- 40:57Speaker 1: your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It
- 41:00Speaker 1: shows that we are all in this together. We can
- 41:03Speaker 1: all do better, and then we are all part of
- 41:05Speaker 1: the solution, always all been in this together. That's the
- 41:10Speaker 1: first time in my lifetime I've seen us close to
- 41:14Speaker 1: being all in this together. So he can stop that.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Regardless of what your granddaddy did, yo, man, but man,
- 41:21Speaker 1: if my answers didn't build this country, your granddadd wouldn't
- 41:24Speaker 1: have nothing to lean on. We started this, We started
- 41:29Speaker 1: this and it has nothing to do with the flat
- 41:32Speaker 1: I mean really it just see Drew, if what you
- 41:38Speaker 1: were saying. First of all, you on Yahoo Finance, how
- 41:42Speaker 1: you ended up talking about kneeling, I don't even know
- 41:45Speaker 1: the guy asked him. The question was asked, but asked.
- 41:48Speaker 1: But you, Drew Breese, God hoodwink and and and faith,
- 41:54Speaker 1: just like everybody else, when you allowed this president to
- 41:58Speaker 1: fluch am changed in narrative of what them brothers was
- 42:01Speaker 1: on their knees about it in the first place, which
- 42:04Speaker 1: is why we're in the streets again now because you
- 42:07Speaker 1: flipped the script when he got on his knees and
- 42:09Speaker 1: the football players. I want to bring something to your
- 42:12Speaker 1: attention of Drew Brees. Football owners were coming down on
- 42:17Speaker 1: the field, locking arm in arm with their players until
- 42:22Speaker 1: the narrative got flipped in change. And then those sponsors
- 42:26Speaker 1: who have their names on that stadium started saying, you
- 42:30Speaker 1: can't go down there and support these guys because our
- 42:33Speaker 1: president has changed the narrative. But at first, Drew, we
- 42:37Speaker 1: had a lot of support coming from Jerry Jones, Arthur
- 42:40Speaker 1: Blanks and a lot of NFL owners. You have been hoodwinked,
- 42:46Speaker 1: and you actually believe that that's why Colin and Allen
- 42:49Speaker 1: brothers was on their knees. It was not to disrespect
- 42:52Speaker 1: the flag or the military. So let me give you that.
- 42:56Speaker 1: So when you look at the American flag with your
- 42:58Speaker 1: hand over your heart, you see your grandfathers who fought
- 43:00Speaker 1: and died for this country. Well, when I see the flag,
- 43:05Speaker 1: I see a country that has a constitution that does
- 43:10Speaker 1: not allow us to participate in it. I see a
- 43:14Speaker 1: flag that has a constitution that says everyone has the
- 43:18Speaker 1: right to the inaliable right of freedom and happiness, except
- 43:22Speaker 1: black people. Because we can't go to church, play our
- 43:26Speaker 1: music by skittles, drink iced tea, sell cigarettes, we can't
- 43:31Speaker 1: go to the school, we can't write a bad check,
- 43:34Speaker 1: we can't job, we can't do a damn thing without
- 43:37Speaker 1: getting killed for it. So when when we're looking at
- 43:41Speaker 1: the flag and we hit the national anthem, they're not
- 43:45Speaker 1: singing to us, and the words they're not ringing real
- 43:50Speaker 1: clear with us. Now, it's just a great country. Yeah,
- 43:55Speaker 1: But like you just said, it's got a long way
- 43:57Speaker 1: to go and it's got something wrong with it. And
- 44:00Speaker 1: we're still writing we're still fighting for civil rights. Twenty
- 44:06Speaker 1: YEA in the huddle, and that and that, and that
- 44:09Speaker 1: we got a long way to go. You just said, well,
- 44:12Speaker 1: damn it, we tired of going. When is we gonna
- 44:15Speaker 1: get there? Were tired of it being a long way
- 44:18Speaker 1: to go. We've been slaved for four hundred years? How
- 44:20Speaker 1: much more long have we got to wait for? Y'all?
- 44:22Speaker 1: Pull it together, man, miss me. All right, we'll have
- 44:26Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 44:29Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at
- 44:33Speaker 1: the top of the hour above. Four minutes after. It's
- 44:36Speaker 1: my strawberry letter for today. Subject my man treats me
- 44:40Speaker 1: like an afterthought. We'll get into that, but right now,
- 44:42Speaker 1: nephew Tommy is here with today's prank phone call. What
- 44:45Speaker 1: you got for us? Nap parasites? Oh yeah, that sounds
- 44:50Speaker 1: like a science class. Sound scientific? Yeah, parasites. That's what
- 44:55Speaker 1: it's like. Prank anybody about anything. I'm thinking, I'm supposed
- 45:02Speaker 1: to parasite. Let's go, cat dog is Hello, Hello, I'm
- 45:06Speaker 1: trying to reach a Brian Brian. Yeah, yeah, Hey Brian,
- 45:10Speaker 1: this is doctor Jacob. How you doing today? Yeah, yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 1: I'm doing I'm doing Okay, listen, you actually came in,
- 45:17Speaker 1: uh maybe like two and a half weeks to go
- 45:19Speaker 1: here to my office and got a physical for for
- 45:22Speaker 1: life insurance. Yeah yeah, yeah, right right, yeah, everything okay, well, yeah, yeah,
- 45:26Speaker 1: everything's gonna be pretty good. I'd like to see if
- 45:28Speaker 1: I can get you to come in and I you know,
- 45:31Speaker 1: everything's gonna be fine. But I got a small procedure
- 45:34Speaker 1: we'd like to do to actually, uh, you know right now,
- 45:37Speaker 1: you're not approved for your life insurance to do until
- 45:39Speaker 1: this procedures done, So if you don't mind coming in,
- 45:42Speaker 1: we'd we'd like to get you jaking Cara. When can
- 45:45Speaker 1: I schedule you to come in like maybe tomorrow or
- 45:48Speaker 1: the following day? Yeah? What what kind of procedure is? Well, actually,
- 45:51Speaker 1: I don't know if you've heard of it. This is
- 45:53Speaker 1: an ochayostrom me, No, I got something? What's that? What's that?
- 45:59Speaker 1: So it's got something with you? Whatn't that? I'm doing
- 46:01Speaker 1: my eyes? I ain't heard what's that? No? No, okayosh
- 46:04Speaker 1: for me, has nothing to do with the eyes, No,
- 46:06Speaker 1: nothing at all. We found a little bit of parasites
- 46:10Speaker 1: in a particular area, and what we want to do
- 46:12Speaker 1: is make sure we just remove it completely and you'll
- 46:15Speaker 1: be fine. You'll get your life inserace, you're in, your
- 46:18Speaker 1: family will be great. So can I get you to
- 46:19Speaker 1: come in tomorrow maybe Thursday afternoon? And fine? What area
- 46:24Speaker 1: I found the parasite in? Actually one of your testicles
- 46:27Speaker 1: has some parasites. So what we're gonna do is what's
- 46:30Speaker 1: called a okayoshtra mey and okayosh for me is actually
- 46:33Speaker 1: removing that testicle completely and then everything gonna be fine.
- 46:37Speaker 1: It's all confined and we'll be able to remove it.
- 46:40Speaker 1: You'll be on your way, you'll get your life insurance
- 46:42Speaker 1: and everything will be fine. Okay, Like I said, can
- 46:44Speaker 1: I get can I? Can I get you to come
- 46:45Speaker 1: in tomorrow? What my testicle? Well, only one, only one
- 46:51Speaker 1: and it's not going to take long. It's a thirty
- 46:53Speaker 1: minute procedure. But we want to get you to come
- 46:55Speaker 1: in tomorrow or the next day. Can we get you
- 46:57Speaker 1: to what they are you available? I just want to
- 47:00Speaker 1: say the routine, sis, how I got to remove a
- 47:02Speaker 1: test sir? You know what, oftentimes when people come in
- 47:05Speaker 1: for life insurance, these type of things happen. So we
- 47:08Speaker 1: want to get you in and get it out as
- 47:10Speaker 1: quickly as possible. Man nah man I wasn't for a
- 47:13Speaker 1: routine physically. Maybe I wasn't supposed to be checking all
- 47:16Speaker 1: this extra stuff. Man, I get a parasite, man, and
- 47:18Speaker 1: my testical. I don't remove a testicle. Man, I'm twenty five. Man.
- 47:22Speaker 1: My wife, Man, I know kids, and they were trying
- 47:23Speaker 1: to be like I got to move a testicle. Let
- 47:25Speaker 1: me say this to you, Brian, You're gonna be completely fine.
- 47:27Speaker 1: You'll be able to create children. You'll be able little
- 47:30Speaker 1: normal life. You know, You'll just be um. You won't
- 47:33Speaker 1: have all of them, but you'll have enough to create children.
- 47:36Speaker 1: You understand. Nah, Man, I can't Nah, I ain't gonna.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I can't come in for that, Nah, Sir. Is there
- 47:42Speaker 1: any way I can get you in tomorrow or tomorrow
- 47:44Speaker 1: afternoon or the Thursday afternoon so we can kind of
- 47:47Speaker 1: get this thing taken care of and we can get
- 47:49Speaker 1: you moving on your way and people can get the
- 47:51Speaker 1: life insurance papers together and so forth. Nah. Man, Man,
- 47:55Speaker 1: we ain't rescheduling now. I need a second or third
- 47:57Speaker 1: opinion on that. And he's talking about taking we want.
- 48:00Speaker 1: We ain't rescheduling nothing, man, I'm gonna need to see
- 48:02Speaker 1: another doctor. Man, It's some sir, Sir you can go

- 48:29Speaker 1: all over. You know what a big balling shot calling? Man?
- 48:33Speaker 1: I told you, Man, I ain't ain't going in for
- 48:35Speaker 1: none of that. Man, I'm supposed to tell my wife. Man,
- 48:37Speaker 1: this this ain't cool. Man, I ain't going in for that. Man.
- 48:39Speaker 1: I'm rescheduling it. Man, you're rechl What do you mean
- 48:41Speaker 1: you're rescheduling? Sir? What we getting? I'm getting another opinion.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I ain't going in for this, okay, But I'm trying
- 48:46Speaker 1: to make you a big baller shot caller. You know, man,
- 48:49Speaker 1: what what is your name are? You're supposed to be
- 48:51Speaker 1: a doctor. You're even making a little jokes man, you're
- 48:53Speaker 1: doing a little play on words. Man. It ain't even funny. Man.
- 48:55Speaker 1: I'm calling insurance funny, telling they get me doctor. But
- 48:59Speaker 1: you think it's funny, ain't it Ain't funny man. You
- 49:01Speaker 1: know you're making a little chit. Man. Ain't funny man.
- 49:03Speaker 1: I mean we're thinking a thin man. I'm forgetting all
- 49:05Speaker 1: of the work that we got, the blood work, the
- 49:07Speaker 1: year and word they're complete physical. That's when we didn't
- 49:10Speaker 1: realize that you had parasites in a particular area. So
- 49:14Speaker 1: what we're trying, I'm not. I don't mean I turned
- 49:16Speaker 1: to make the light of make humor in it just
- 49:18Speaker 1: to make you feel a little bit more comfortable. I apologize,
- 49:21Speaker 1: all right. That ain't funing man. You want to losing.

- 49:30Speaker 1: me I gotta come in to remove a testicle. Man.
- 49:32Speaker 1: We had to run tests on you, sir. We got
- 49:35Speaker 1: test back when you do have the parasites, and what
- 49:37Speaker 1: we want to do is make sure we're get them
- 49:39Speaker 1: completely cleared out. The only way I can clear that
- 49:42Speaker 1: out is to remove that testicle. He's man, it's the man.

- 50:07Speaker 1: no parasse man, Brian, let me make you understand something
- 50:10Speaker 1: clearly here. It's my job as a physician that if
- 50:13Speaker 1: the patient doesn't come to me, it's my job to
- 50:15Speaker 1: come to you and extract the problem. You're leaning towards
- 50:19Speaker 1: me having to come to your home and extract the problem. Man,

- 50:51Speaker 1: ain't gonna I ain't gonnas not something that's transmitted. It
- 50:57Speaker 1: doesn't come from another another human being. It just developed
- 51:00Speaker 1: in one out of every three or four million people.
- 51:03Speaker 1: You actually have it, Brian, I got it extracted from you.

- 54:16Speaker 1: is Strawberry Letter. Thank you, nephew. Subject my man treats
- 54:21Speaker 1: me like an afterthought. Dear Stephen Shirley. I've been in
- 54:24Speaker 1: a relationship for almost two years, and when I think
- 54:27Speaker 1: about the things this man has shown me sexually and mentally,
- 54:31Speaker 1: I am floored. He literally takes my breath away. But
- 54:37Speaker 1: there are a few problems with our relationship. We've never
- 54:41Speaker 1: spent a night together, and I've never met his family
- 54:45Speaker 1: except for his twin daughters and their mother. What except
- 54:51Speaker 1: for his twin daughters and their mother. It was a
- 54:53Speaker 1: quick high and by when we ran into them at Target.
- 54:57Speaker 1: We were not together on our one year anniversary because
- 55:02Speaker 1: of his job. You got it now. I didn't see
- 55:06Speaker 1: him on Valentine's Day because he had his daughters that night.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I saw him the next day and he gave me flowers.
- 55:13Speaker 1: His birthday is three days before Christmas, but I didn't
- 55:16Speaker 1: see him until Christmas Eve because his grandparents were in town.
- 55:20Speaker 1: There was nothing on Christmas Day, and he went to
- 55:23Speaker 1: church for New Year's Eve without me. Then he came
- 55:27Speaker 1: over for a few hours on New Year's Day to
- 55:30Speaker 1: make up for it. I don't discuss how I feel
- 55:32Speaker 1: about things for fear of running him off, because he
- 55:35Speaker 1: told me his ex girlfriend nagged him a lot. He
- 55:39Speaker 1: is always busy if I asked to see him. If
- 55:41Speaker 1: I asked to see him, but when he calls me,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I will drop everything to be with him. I don't
- 55:47Speaker 1: know why he's acting this way, and I pray it's
- 55:49Speaker 1: not what my subconsciousness telling me it is. In his defense,
- 55:53Speaker 1: he does work extreme hours. He has his kids every
- 55:57Speaker 1: other weekend, and he likes to chill with his boys too. Unwind,
- 56:01Speaker 1: I offered to cook dinner at his house so we
- 56:03Speaker 1: could have a heart to heart, and he said he
- 56:05Speaker 1: still needs to buy furniture and fix his place up
- 56:08Speaker 1: before I can come over. I need him to make
- 56:11Speaker 1: me a priority in his life. How can I get
- 56:13Speaker 1: this through to him? Has our relationship run its course?
- 56:17Speaker 1: He'll never make you a priority. He'll never do that
- 56:21Speaker 1: because guess what, he already has a priority in his life. Okay,
- 56:26Speaker 1: he has a priority. You should have titled and titled
- 56:29Speaker 1: this letter for two years I've been in a relationship
- 56:32Speaker 1: with a married man, because that's what it is. I mean,
- 56:35Speaker 1: think about it. You never ever get holidays. You don't
- 56:39Speaker 1: get Christmas. You don't even get his birthday, which is
- 56:41Speaker 1: three days before Christmas. You don't get New Year's Eve,
- 56:44Speaker 1: you don't get New Year's Day, well, you get a
- 56:46Speaker 1: couple of hours when he decides to come over. You
- 56:50Speaker 1: don't get Valentine's Day, that's the day for lovers. You
- 56:53Speaker 1: don't get anything. And he played you so hard. He
- 56:56Speaker 1: told you his ex girlfriend nagged a lot. So now
- 56:59Speaker 1: you're air. You said you're scared of running him off.
- 57:02Speaker 1: You're scared to tell him how you feel and what
- 57:06Speaker 1: all of this means to you, and why doesn't he
- 57:08Speaker 1: spend more time with you, and what's going on. You're
- 57:10Speaker 1: scared to bring up how you feel. He puts you off.
- 57:14Speaker 1: He's always too busy for you. He's got the kids
- 57:18Speaker 1: every other weekend, or he's going out with his boys.
- 57:21Speaker 1: You can't even go over his house because he doesn't
- 57:23Speaker 1: have any furniture, really, and you make excuses for him
- 57:27Speaker 1: at every turn. You have to stop this talking about
- 57:30Speaker 1: in his defense, he's very busy, yeah, busy with his
- 57:34Speaker 1: wife and family running away from you. You have to
- 57:36Speaker 1: stop all of this. You got to stop seeing him.
- 57:39Speaker 1: You have to stop answering his call, stop calling him,
- 57:42Speaker 1: stop everything all of the above, because you already know
- 57:46Speaker 1: what's going on. You said it. You're subconscious. You don't
- 57:48Speaker 1: want it to be what you're subconscious is telling you
- 57:51Speaker 1: that it is. Well, that's what it is. Listen to you,
- 57:53Speaker 1: self conscious, all right? Please please don't be stupid on this.
- 57:58Speaker 1: I mean, don't be don't be get yourself together. Listen
- 58:02Speaker 1: to your head and not your heart. In this situation,
- 58:06Speaker 1: the man has a wife. Steve, I just wow, I
- 58:12Speaker 1: know how long have we been doing these letters? Yeah?
- 58:15Speaker 1: How obvious does it have to be? Yeah? How many
- 58:19Speaker 1: times have we given advice on this subject? Right here?
- 58:24Speaker 1: You say my man treats me like an afterthought. That's caused,
- 58:28Speaker 1: that's what you are. See. You solved that the answers
- 58:32Speaker 1: in the letter. I've been in relationship for two years
- 58:37Speaker 1: and now hear what you hear? You hear the glory
- 58:39Speaker 1: of it. When I think about the thing this man
- 58:41Speaker 1: has shown me sexually and mentally, I'm floyed. Why well,
- 58:44Speaker 1: let's talk about what he didn't showed you. We don't
- 58:47Speaker 1: know what he's doing sexually, but obviously you sprung. He
- 58:50Speaker 1: literally takes my breath away. Now here go to letter.
- 58:54Speaker 1: We've got some problems though I've never spent a night,
- 58:57Speaker 1: We've never spent a night together, and I've never met
- 59:01Speaker 1: his family. What two years and you ain't been over
- 59:05Speaker 1: his house? And later on in the letters say because
- 59:08Speaker 1: he ain't got no furniture. Who take two years to
- 59:12Speaker 1: get a couch? A couch? Who have got this place?
- 59:19Speaker 1: And in two years ain't got a couch, ain't got
- 59:23Speaker 1: no damn bad, ain't got a TV? Who been a
- 59:27Speaker 1: day house for two years? Without no damn cable and
- 59:31Speaker 1: somewhere that sick. Where do he eat when he at home?
- 59:35Speaker 1: What do you mean he don't have furniture? Listen to me,
- 59:38Speaker 1: and I've never met his family except for his twin
- 59:42Speaker 1: daughters and named mother. And it was a quick hind
- 59:45Speaker 1: by we ran into them and talking. That was an accident.
- 59:49Speaker 1: That was a damn accident. He damn show wasn't intended
- 59:53Speaker 1: for you to meet them then, but you did. We
- 59:56Speaker 1: were not together on our one year anniversary. That's because
- 59:59Speaker 1: y'all don't have anniversary. What you what is you making up?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Y'all don't have anniversary because of his job. I didn't
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: see him on Valentine's Day, that cause you ain't his Valentine.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna just give it to you because he had
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: his daughters that night. Who'll spend Valentine's with the damn kids? Right,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: We're supposed to be having sex on Valentine's Day? What
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: is your kids in here? For? Kids? As waving the
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: dog crazy, I got the rest of it for you
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: when I come back, Steve, I'm not even puting no
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: punches with this, please jem Well that part two of
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Steve's responds coming up at twenty three minutes after the
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: hour you're listening show. All right, Steve, come on, let's
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: recap today's strawberry letter. My man treats me like an afterthought.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Well that's caused you all, and it's all in the
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: damn other than when y'all having this crazy ass sex
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: where you didn't learn so much you on the floor.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: So now he literally takes my breath away. But then
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: we got some problems. She ain't never spend the night
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: at the man's house two years? Why? Because he say
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: he don't have no furniture yet. My question he is,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: who ain't bought a couch in two years? Where do
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: he eat when he at home? He just standing in
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the middle of the floor with some containers. I've never
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: met his family except for his twin daughters and their mother.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: And it was a real quick hiding by. We ran
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: into them at Target. That was a damn accident. We
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: were not together on our one year anniversary. That's because
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: y'all don't have anniversaries. I'm just going over what I
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: went over and then I'm gonna get to the rest
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: of it. Because of his job, I didn't see him
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: on Valentine's day. No, that ain't cause his job because
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: you didn't see him on Valentine's Day, because you ain't
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: as Valentine. Because he had his daughters that night. Who
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: the hell spend Valentine Night with their kids, even if
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: it's my week of custody. Somebody for the watch their
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: ass on Valentine's Night because I got to go see
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: somebody naked with a dipper on with a bowling arrow Cupid.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I didn't played Cupid on Valentine's Day. I didn't jumped
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: out the closet with a dipper. You have a long
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: time ago, y'all ain't know me then I was young.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: I had the body for that dipper. I saw him
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: the next day and he gave me flowers. You know
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: why you got flowers because he spent all the money
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: on the person, the candy on the other girl. And
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: anybody can give you flowers, that's just stop. They sell
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: them on the corner. His birthday is three days before Christmas,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: but I didn't see him until Christmas Eve because his
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: grandparents was in time. Wow, who need four days with
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: some old ass people to say marry Christmas? Who needs
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: full damn days with some old people to say Mary Christmas.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Then there was nothing on Christmas Day, as John. No, No,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: that's where you're wrong. Oh, Christmas Day was popping. It
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: was it was family woman, Christmas was lit. It just
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: wasn't with you, because who can leave their house on
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Christmas Day? And why would he not come up to
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: your house on Christmas Day? He got no damn front
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of you. He didn't even got no nothing to sit
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: on and look at the damn lights on the tree.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Everybody like putting their tree up, getting a cup of
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: car feels some hot chocolate looking at the tree. They
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: dreamed it having fun. That's the purpose of a treat Christmas. Yeah,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: that was nothing on Christmas Day. And he went to
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: church on New Year's Eve without me. That man was
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: not in church on New Year's Eve. He was just
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: without you. He told you he went to church on
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: New Year's Eve. His ass ain't go to church on
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: New Year's Eve. Then he came over for a few
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: hours on New Year's Day to make up for it. Oh,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I bet that's when y'all was in the flow having
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: some of that mind blowing set. I don't discuss how
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: I feel about things for feel running him off because
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: he told me. His ex girlfriend nagged him a lot.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: You know why, because she was trying to figure out
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: how the hell you gonna come over because he had
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: he ain't had no furniture in this apartment for about
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: eight years. She weared his ass the deathbout coming over
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: and she had never spent the night over there. Okay,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: he's always busy. If I asked to see him, but
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: when he calls me, I drop everything. I don't know
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: why he's acting this way. What You've been with him
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: two years and you don't know why he acted in
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: this way. He can't act no other way. He got
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: a family, He got family, He can't act no other way.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I pray is not what my suspicion is telling me.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: It is stop praying for something God gives you to
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: protect you. You have this thing called intuition. It's telling you.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Now you want to call it yourself conscious. I'm prayer
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: is not what my self conscious is telling me. It's
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: your intuition and it is telling you that. And God
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: gives it to women to protect them. And all of
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: women out there listening know every time they go against
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: what their intuition tells them, they pay for every woman
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: has done it true. Now in his defense, he does
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: work extreme hours. What is here for as fighter? Come over?
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: What job he got where he won? For stream hours?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: What is he in the UFC? What is extreme hours?
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: So he don't get no time? He working all these
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: hours and still can't buy no damn couch bed? But
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: he worked extream Our dain't brought. He has his kids
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: every other weekend and he likes to cheer with his
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: boys on wine. I like cheering with my boys online too,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: but I'd rather be soware having sake? What are you
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: talking about? I want to cook dinner at his house.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: He can't have you over there. Somebody over there already
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: cooking and they're not gonna understand you coming over because
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: that's their kitchen, right all right? I need him to
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: make me a prod in his life. He's not. How
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: can I get through to him? You can't. Is our
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: relationship run his course? You have no relationship? That's just
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: stranger letter? All right? Thank you? Steve, post your I'm
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: and so on Today's Strawberry Letter and Steve Harvey FM

- 1:07:05Speaker 1: out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand now coming up
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: at forty six minutes after the hour, our girl from
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the Talk, Cheryl Underwood. Right after this, you're listening to
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, please introduce that
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: girl from the Talk. Ladies and gentlemen, stop, holy skill,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: okay Skill Underwood. Now I'm talking about Steve Hive. Man.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I'm so proud to be in America right now. You know, wow, wow, baby,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: old hound dog Secretary of Defense, former secretary just sense maddness.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: You don't like a hound dog? Mad dog? Yeah, he
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: like a hound dog. He like he was on Petticoat Junction. Anyway,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Thank you, Tommy. When the when the secretary's plural of
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: defense turn on you, you know need have turned on
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: to twitterler. That's that's what people calling Trump right now,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: the twitter ler commander and tweets. They are turning on him. Now.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: He about to lose evangelicals because you don't play with God.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Don't be holding up a Bible upside down. That's the
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: anti Christ upside down. That junior. Go ahead, now, a man,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: do we need to testify right now? See it ain't
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: gonna go the way he thinks. And then you got
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: the Brianna Taylor thing. I'm just gonna tell you, for
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: all of y'all that know your history, that just seemed
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: like Fred Hampton black panther all the way over. Listen,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: do you need me to do? You need me to
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: say it? Shelley Scrubber every thirteen X drop the knowledge girl. Absolutely,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: And then they say, well at least they bumped it
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: up the second degree and arrested all the officers, when
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: none of that would have happened if y'all weren't out
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: there lighting up that block. Because that block is hot,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: that you got white people with baby and strollers. When
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: they bring it ye out, then it brought the baby out.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: The protests they out when wife folk get mad and
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: join us. Now we're getting somewhere. Now we're getting somewhere.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you something. All these people hollering
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: all lives matter, you don't believe that. You don't believe
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: that because you don't give equality to my life, you
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: don't give value to my life. You don't even want
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: to admit that you racist. So how can you become
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: anti racist when you won't admit you racist? And you
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: benefit from racism? And my right brothers, what need to
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: happen is we got to go back to the old
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: school where we gotta teach the origin of what happened
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: before sixteen nineteen, that some of us was free until
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: they saw how we was plotting the land and working
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: with the Indians and getting our stuff together. So then
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: they change the laws to enslave us and then bring
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: us over him, which thereby made us property, which is
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: what That's how your police force got started. Why, because
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: you needed somebody to go get your property back, which
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: is your slave, which is your police for when they
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: say officer opensee, officer opensee. Okay, let's keep it real.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: And if you won't admit that the enslavement of another
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: person had to make you superior. So that's how you
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: built everything. So you took all the land from the Indians.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: You worked the black people today because no other people
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: than black people came over here as beast of burden.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: All the rest ya I'll immigrated. Oh, we'll come right
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: after this. You're listening all right here we are Part
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: two of our Girls. Cheryl Underwood from the talk. I'm sorry,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Shirley Scrawberry. I was just so passionate about what I
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: was saying. What thank you Shirley Scrawber every thirteen X.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Shirley Scrawberry listened to me. I know, Shelly Scrawberry was
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: right off halsted, hil Well, here's the Pere's the other
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: problem that I have. I am very happy that people
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: are now understanding what the issue is. But some people
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: seem to not be understanding what the issue is. Now. Listen,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I like Drew Brees, or at least I did. I did.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Stay help me understand what the what? Yeah, state got comfortable.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Man got comfortable. What do you mean he said what
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: he really felt? What do you mean he got comfortable? Well? See,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I think the part where he made a mistake was
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: how you feel about the flag is absolutely fine. No
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: one has a problem with that. No one has a
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: problem of how you feel about your grandfather's serving all.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: That's fine. You can tear up when you see the
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: flag and you see the national enemy think of all
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: they did. That's fine. When you stuck in the part
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: about you would never eel to disrespect the flag or
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: the military shows that you got hoodwink and suckered like
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: everybody else by this president when he changed the narrative
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: so he can have a mission, yes, and all of
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: his missions, if you all pay attention to all of
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: his missions, it always got something to do with us, yep,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: because we're not the invisible enemy like COVID nineteen. And
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: every time he gets a visible enemy, it got something
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: to do with us. Yep. And what is that? Boys
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: and girls? Racism? And racism? So if you cannot face that,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: you co signing on this. And I hate to see
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: people not want to realize it. They want to say, well,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: we hold these truths to be self evident, that all
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: men are created equal. Accept us. That's what I'm talking
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: about yesterday. Yeah, that's right. And you can't make me
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: equal if you ain't made whole. What's that boys and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: girls racism? That is jun? I love you so oh
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: wait a minute, but I'm I'm gonna keep this football thing.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: I know, I gotta stay focused. I'm gonna keep this
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: football thing going. Listen, here's the problem. We all loved
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: Drew Brees, you know, and we know he made a mistake.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: He gonna have to correct that mistake because it's true. Well,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: this is how, First of all, I want the NFL,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: which is a nonprofit organization. Boys and girls, I want
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: you to know that. Okay, it's not a it's not
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: a business. It's a nonprofit organization that that generates surplus. Okay,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep it real. Go start typing. Colin Farrell's
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: gonna start typing. Then you'll figure out what it what
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: it really is. Here's the thing. So you're mad at
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Colin Kaepernick, but now something the majority of the world
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: is taking the knee because they realize why he was
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: taking the knee. And the first sorry girl getting too
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I want too. Five. Now I'm gonna tell you what
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: needs to happen. Everybody talking about what Kylin Kaepernick need
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: a job. Kyler Kaepernick needs job now. I don't know
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: if people gonna agree with me on this. I believe
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: that what he needed to do is he needed to
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: become quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, and then he needed
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: to walk out and shake hands with Kirk Cousins and
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: tell Kirk Cousins, now, sit on down while I win
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: these games and I get to the Super Bowl and
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: play against my Tampa Bay Patriots will never play professional
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: football again. But he should, Steve Harvey, he should. No,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: he had a chance. No, what you think the only
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: way he shouldn't play is if he don't want to. No, No,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: he had a chance. He missed that. Well. I think
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: he had a deal on the table and didn't take it.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: That's but this is different. Now, this is different. This
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: is a movement. That's right. This is a move movement.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: And just think I would bring the country together that
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: he run out on the field and on that first day,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: everybody taking a knee and they understand what this is
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: all about. All right, we'll have more of the Steve
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening Steve Morning Show. Steve,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: you wanted to make a point. The NFL don't old
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Colin Kaepernick an apology? Why don't Why don't you think so?
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: The President olds Colin Kaepernick and he changed the narrative.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: The NFL didn't change the narrative. The narrative came from
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: your leadership. Stop letting this man off the hook. Okay,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: he changed the I'm not saying he didn't change it,
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: but they went with him when it changed. Thank you.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: So I feel like I owes him an apology and sold.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Does the NFL no listen to me when they change
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: the narrative. All those stadiums have titles on him. The
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: sponsors of the money. Right when they went along with
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the president, they called in the fail and said, if
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: y'all don't get off them fields with them black people,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: we're gonna pull all this money out this game that
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: started it. The owners had to get up and then
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: tell at y'all get up off this floor. I'm telling you,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: it's bigger than the NFL. It started at the top
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: and that's what's old. But we're gonna let him off
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: the hook again because we know his ass ain't gonna apologize.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I'm rolling this. It started with the president apologize. Let's
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: not forget all of them and so bees all right,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: thank you guys. That was pretty speik. You got what
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: part two Love will happen. Part two will happen and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the world is watching. So I think they gonna change.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I think change is gonna come. They are more of
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: the Sea. Harvey Morning Show three minutes form the hour
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: we were having a spirited conversation about Colin Kaepernick, the fell,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Donald Trump's role in all of this, how he was
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: the one that changed the narrative. But I don't know.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: I still think that Colin Kaepernick is owed some sort
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: of apology, Steve. I think he's old apology from the president.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: But I also think he's on old apology getting at
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: what I know it's not gonna happen to him. I'm
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: just saying what I think is right. I think he's
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: old one from the NFL, and I think it from
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: the NFL for the mere fact that they were. They
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: were on board at the beginning and uncle, like you're saying,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: they changed it immediately when when when the sponsors and
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: all of this started to happen. But since they turned
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: their back and ran with the sponsors, That's why I
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: say he deserves an apology. Right, If you put it
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: like that, I understand exactly why you're saying it the
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: business part of it now, because that is a change,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: y'all because for the first time in my lifetime, I've
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: never seen these many people outside of the African American
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: race participate in protests to help and benefit African Americans.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: See it never So it's going to be a change now.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: The NFL was following orders. These orders came from the top.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Since this has happened. Roger Goodale has been on television
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: in support of the George of Floyd Farming. He had
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: been on support and the NFL supports. The NFL has
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: tried to get on the right side of this in
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: the beginning until the President flipped the script. This is
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: bigger than the NFL. But now let me say this.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: You have not heard since Colin Kaepernick had to settlement
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: him say anything more about the NFL. He had that
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: trial that he moved, but that was on purpose, and
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: you have not heard him say anything because when you signed,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: when you take these settlements, you all you signed what's
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: called an NBA nondisclosure agreement. You are not allowed to
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: discuss the amount of Steve the reasoning, and you cannot
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: make a disparaging statement against the NFL because you got
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: your check. But can I say this just real quick, Shirley,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: let me jump in real quick, Phil, I'm gonna ask
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Steve something in Tommy as fans as the NFL sports,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: what people see is Colin Kaepernick. He kneeled during the
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: national anthem. He lost his job, he was blackballed because
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: of that. Now everyone is protesting, they're taking a knee
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: and so the average person doesn't know all of these
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: different layers of what it is. It just looks like
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: this man got fired for doing the very thing that
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: everybody is doing now and he's old an apology and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: that's what you're saying, right Tommy, when we come back,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you what I have to say about Okay,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: and uh, coming back, it'll be our last break of
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: the day. All right, we'll finish. We'll finish this discussion
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: up about Colin Kaepernick, the NFL and the president at
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: forty nine minutes after right after this you're listening to
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: all right, Steve, here we are last break of the day. Uh,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: we spent the last one half hour talking about Colin
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Kaepernick in the NFL and this apology situation. Your thoughts,
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: listen to me. There will be no apologies. See, that's
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: not the way this country works. Please stop looking for that.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: What will happen to Colin Kaepernick, though, will be much
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: greater than an apology, because now the world is seeing
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: other than when you have a guy like Drew Brees
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: make the statement, who stay who steal? Is biting on
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: the that the bullet that it was against the flag
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: and the military what Colin Kaepernick first got on his
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: knee for was the very thing that we are in
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: the streets for right now. Sir Colin Kaepernick was one
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: correct in his assessment of the problem and his lawful
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: right to protest peacefully. He didn't put a building on fire,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: he didn't throw a rock through a window. He kneeled
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: doing the national anthem to draw attention to a problem
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: about the injustice that's happening to people of color in
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: this country. What Colin Kaepernick will receive right now is
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: his just due as the person who launched and brought
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: attention to a movement. And if you think an apology
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: is better than that, you're ever so wrong. This young
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: brother with that Afro way will have pictures of him
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: for years to come of the statement that he tried
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: to make. And now the world is out there pro
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: testing for The president of Botswanna called me on the phone,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: President Eric mcquetzie and said, Steve, tell the African Americans
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: in the United States that we in Botswanna stand with them,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: that we are appalled. That is what's happening to you
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: all in America. Now Botswanna is outside of South Africa.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: Now keep in mind South Africa just got rid of
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: apartide in nineteen Africa. Africa is standing with us. What
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: is going to happen now is that it's going to
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: be a global shift in the way the world perceives us,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: in the way the world perceives America, because America has
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: been having everybody think this is just beautiful land of opportunity,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: and now the world is seeing, wow, they don't like
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: black people. Even on the TV show ninety Fiance, the
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: Nigerian mother didn't want her Nigerian son to marry the
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: white girl Lisa Be, you know, and her whole reason was,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: why do you want to go to America? They don't
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: even like black people over there. She said that on
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: ninety Day Fiance, I said, I'll be damned on a
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: reality scale everywhere and for that to happen. And now
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: the shift and the angle of what America, the other
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: side of America's being shown. And for people who keep
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: sending me messages, you rich, you a game show host,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: what you're tripping for. What I'm tripping for is because
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: this is my people. What I'm tripping for is because
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I'm a black man before I'm anything else. And there
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: ain't a day that I can wake up and not
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: be aware of the fact that I am black. I
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: can't go nowhere in this country and not have to
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: factor in the fact that I'm black. I got to
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: pay attention at all times because I'm usually the only
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: one there. Let me ask you this, Let me ask
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: you this. So Colin Kaepernick was just outcast after all
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: of that. Do you think what a statement like Drew
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Brees has made, will he be outcast? Hell? Same way. Now,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: what's gonna happen to Drew Brees is he has gotten
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: the attention now that I'm sure he doesn't want because
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: what as all the turmoil that's going on this for
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: you to make any statement that's and time? Yeah, time
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: in the heat of it? Are you nuts? Do you
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: think he worked with Tim? But people all over the
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: world know what's going on and you're right here in
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: the think of it, and you don't know, Drew Brees,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: come on and they're protesting all over the world in
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: support of us. So for you to make a statement, yeah,
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: bringing in the kneeling when the kneeling if you think
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: about it right now and correct, Colin Kaepernick was one
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: hundred percent And I think this young brother. With all
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: the bashing and beating that he took, he's being uh justified.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: He's being really placed in a place in history that
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: this boy is going to get something from this and
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: he got commercial right and that may be enough for him.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: That may be, he may he may not need an apology. No, no,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: watch what's going to happenlog Now you saw that Nike commercial.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: He got Watch what happens now? Because now the truth
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: of this young man's move is very obvious. It will
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: it will turn over. He'll make more money doing this
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: than he could ever make throwing a damn football. He
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: is safer. He want doesn't Timmy, if he wanted to play,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: he'd had to trialt in Atlanta and wouldn't have moved
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: it that he he don't. He don't want to play
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: the football. He don't want to play football. He had
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: a chance. That was it. Well, um, but you wow,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: what a spirited conversation. I mean, yeah, you know the
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: moves read. Well. Let me just say this, because you
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: know I'm married to a man from New Orleans. He's
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: just stated. For all Steve Harvey contests, no purchase necessary
