- 3:38Speaker 1: she called it, so I know she's here. We spoke
- 3:40Speaker 1: to it. Told is gonna be two breaks. Is the
- 3:42Speaker 1: senior director for recruiting and Special Projects for Major League
- 3:46Speaker 1: Baseball because baseball is free. Training is here. But she's
- 3:50Speaker 1: also a record setting marathon athlete. Please welcome to Money
- 3:54Speaker 1: Making Conversations. Celestie bail Get Bardon. Are you doing now?
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm great. First of all, thank you for calling in
- 4:06Speaker 1: on my show on this Monday. I really appreciate you
- 4:09Speaker 1: because I got a lot of questions to ask you about,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, being able to balance your personal life as
- 4:15Speaker 1: a marathon runner and your professional life as a working
- 4:18Speaker 1: at the major working at Major League Baseball for sure. Now,
- 4:23Speaker 1: the interesting thing about it is that I want to
- 4:25Speaker 1: tell everybody, let me just such a tone here, because
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm writing a book called Money Making Conversations God to Success,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and one of the chapters that I have in my
- 4:34Speaker 1: book is called do not make these mistakes when I
- 4:37Speaker 1: say that, as me, you gotta have a hobby. You
- 4:39Speaker 1: should do something, spend time for yourself. And that's why
- 4:42Speaker 1: I was really interested in the interviewing you, because you've
- 4:45Speaker 1: accomplished that. Like I just really picked up a real
- 4:47Speaker 1: hobby three years ago when I started baking and so,
- 4:50Speaker 1: but you have a hobby. There's a little bit more strenuous.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Should I call it a hobby, miss Bill? Because I
- 4:57Speaker 1: called marathon hobby one of my favorite hobby. It's very
- 5:02Speaker 1: six point two miles of constant motion, that's a hobby. Now,
- 5:08Speaker 1: let's let's go back a little bit because I really
- 5:10Speaker 1: want to get into because you are a legitimate African
- 5:14Speaker 1: American record holder for this for running eight marathons on
- 5:19Speaker 1: eight different continents and each race was twenty six point
- 5:23Speaker 1: two miles correct, that's correct. I do want to let
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know. I got my I did my homework, rid
- 5:28Speaker 1: all the blogs, you know, rid all the press releases
- 5:31Speaker 1: so I could be ready for you. Now explain to
- 5:34Speaker 1: me why did you do it, though? Because that's crazy. Now,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you know that's crazy. Now I gotta be real too,
- 5:39Speaker 1: and I gotta be professional. Now when you tell me
- 5:42Speaker 1: you running eight marathons, eight days, eight different continents, the
- 5:45Speaker 1: word crazy pops up in my head. Correct, and I
- 5:49Speaker 1: own the fact that I am crazy. I've been called
- 5:53Speaker 1: crazy twenty of times and I own it now. But
- 5:57Speaker 1: your record holding crazy person though? Okay? Correct? Now when
- 6:03Speaker 1: you when you Now, let's tell us about this whole experience,
- 6:06Speaker 1: because I really want to, you know, I want to
- 6:08Speaker 1: be serious and playful at the same time, because I'm
- 6:10Speaker 1: really serious that a lot of people make mistakes, small
- 6:12Speaker 1: business owners especially, and people who work corporate jobs. It's
- 6:16Speaker 1: just any job. They're they're afraid just give them time,
- 6:20Speaker 1: the only time for themselves or time for their family,
- 6:22Speaker 1: vacation time because they just think they're gonna miss out
- 6:25Speaker 1: of something, or they can't afford it, or if they
- 6:28Speaker 1: do that, it's gonna take away from success. In another area.
- 6:31Speaker 1: How are you able to come to that that that
- 6:34Speaker 1: piece of mind for yourself or will you always like this?
- 6:38Speaker 1: You know, it's it's always been um an avenue and
- 6:43Speaker 1: outlet for me to clear my mind. Like running just
- 6:46Speaker 1: just makes me feel better. Maybe not running eight it
- 6:51Speaker 1: didn't make me feel better, but running has always made
- 6:54Speaker 1: me feel better. It allows me to clear my mind.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I talked to God while I'm running. I pray while
- 6:59Speaker 1: I'm running, and so it makes a difference. And I
- 7:02Speaker 1: think everyone should have something as an outlet. You know,
- 7:08Speaker 1: it's really correct when you say that. In college, I've
- 7:11Speaker 1: read long distance, not not that long, not that long.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I ran long distances and it and it's really an
- 7:17Speaker 1: interesting thing that you put your body through because you know,
- 7:20Speaker 1: your body is a mental process that you go through,
- 7:23Speaker 1: because when you hit certain mile points, your body starts
- 7:27Speaker 1: talking to you and you have to get through it.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Sometimes it's pain you have to get through, and sometimes
- 7:31Speaker 1: just physical disconfort you have to get through. And once
- 7:34Speaker 1: you get through that, then it's just your body just
- 7:36Speaker 1: relaxes and it just and you just can just almost
- 7:40Speaker 1: like run forever. And so but you do have those
- 7:43Speaker 1: moments of just just deep thought when you can just
- 7:46Speaker 1: when you just see life differently because there's so many
- 7:49Speaker 1: things that you are for the for the for the
- 7:51Speaker 1: first time in your life, you actually just it's almost
- 7:53Speaker 1: like meditation. Correct correct for sure and when. Now, Now
- 7:59Speaker 1: here's the thing that got to me about the twenty
- 8:01Speaker 1: six point two miles in eight days, eight different continents
- 8:05Speaker 1: is the recovery time. Let me let me reach everybody
- 8:08Speaker 1: what the recovery time is when you run a marathon. Generally,
- 8:12Speaker 1: it takes a minimum two to three weeks for the
- 8:15Speaker 1: body to recover from the strain of running twenty six
- 8:18Speaker 1: miles three five yards. Return too quickly and you increase
- 8:23Speaker 1: your risk of injury. Some experts suggest resting one day
- 8:27Speaker 1: for every mile you run in the marathon. Thus twenty
- 8:30Speaker 1: six days of no hard running or racing. That's what
- 8:35Speaker 1: they suggest, Miss Bail, I want everybody to hear that.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Now every mile that you run, you're supposed to arrest
- 8:45Speaker 1: one day. I'm trying to figure out because you you're
- 8:50Speaker 1: a different continents, so you're flying, probably doing trains, probably
- 8:54Speaker 1: doing cab rides. So so I just don't wanna I
- 8:57Speaker 1: just don't want to fluff this off. Now, if any
- 9:00Speaker 1: abouty want to google her name is c E l
- 9:03Speaker 1: E s t E. Bailee Marathon run up. Because I
- 9:07Speaker 1: think people won't believe this unless they verified, and this
- 9:11Speaker 1: just verifiable information. When you pull a part name, it's
- 9:14Speaker 1: gonna say African American Marathon record holder. Correct. Correct, It's
- 9:21Speaker 1: gonna have a picture here of her underneath the underneath
- 9:24Speaker 1: this uh this finish line and the snow on the ground. Okay, okay, okay,
- 9:32Speaker 1: let let let's tell everybody I know this is this.
- 9:35Speaker 1: This is so fun talking to you about this. Okay.
- 9:38Speaker 1: She started the Eight Continent Marathon and Auckland that's Awkland right,
- 9:43Speaker 1: New England, New Zealand in January. The next stop was
- 9:47Speaker 1: Australia Oceana on the four, and then when she went
- 9:52Speaker 1: to Asia on the five. Then you when you went
- 9:55Speaker 1: to Africa on January six. Then on seven she was
- 9:59Speaker 1: in Europe, and then she was back to North America
- 10:03Speaker 1: in New York, New York City's Iceberger International Marathon on
- 10:07Speaker 1: then she went to Chile in South America for the
- 10:11Speaker 1: twenty ninth, and then she wrapped it up January in Antarctica. Correct, Now,
- 10:19Speaker 1: my friend, how do you feel? Now you know I'm
- 10:25Speaker 1: actually back to novel. I feel good. I you know,
- 10:28Speaker 1: it only took me a couple of days to really
- 10:32Speaker 1: get back to normal in terms of the recovery physically. Um,
- 10:36Speaker 1: the sleep deprivation took a little a little longer, like
- 10:38Speaker 1: a week. How many how many hours were you able
- 10:41Speaker 1: to sleep in between races? Because to travel? Travel was terrible,
- 10:48Speaker 1: And travel was the piece of it that I didn't
- 10:50Speaker 1: really totally factor in because I had run five marathons
- 10:54Speaker 1: in five states back to back twice, and so I
- 10:57Speaker 1: felt like I thought like I knew what I was into,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and that travel piece totally made it different. So I
- 11:04Speaker 1: didn't sleep very much between the first four races. Um,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I normally can sleep on the plane like with no problem.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But I couldn't sleep. I think, you know, the anxiety,
- 11:14Speaker 1: the nerves, you know, I just couldn't sleep. And so
- 11:18Speaker 1: I felt like the first flour I was zombie running
- 11:22Speaker 1: absolutely absolutely. I want to We're gonna, we're gonna continue
- 11:25Speaker 1: this conversation, but I want to because we want to
- 11:26Speaker 1: talk about you raising money for play like a Girl.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And also we were talking about your your real job
- 11:32Speaker 1: that guests afford you to run a marathon in every
- 11:35Speaker 1: state he's run a marathon in every state. I don't
- 11:38Speaker 1: want to I don't want to gloss over that. This
- 11:40Speaker 1: young lady is special, especial in a lot of ways
- 11:43Speaker 1: because she's learning to balance. And that's what why I
- 11:46Speaker 1: have on the show to talk about that balance that
- 11:48Speaker 1: a lot of people miss balanced socially, balanced personally, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: it's also making her to have a I feel a
- 11:54Speaker 1: comfortable life. I'm on the phone with Celeste Bill. She's
- 11:57Speaker 1: a senior director over Major League Baseball and she's an
- 12:00Speaker 1: African American marathon record holder. And I consider you very
- 12:05Speaker 1: special and I appreciate you coming on my show, and
- 12:07Speaker 1: we'll get we'll get in more detail in a few
- 12:09Speaker 1: more minutes. We'll be right back with more from Rashan

- 13:20Speaker 1: to yourself who calls Rushan shell Rickie smiling, You got
- 13:23Speaker 1: to get out of your own city and leave in
- 13:26Speaker 1: order to grow, because a fish don't get bigger as
- 13:28Speaker 1: long as inside of that fish boat. Just get bigger
- 13:32Speaker 1: when you put it in a punt. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 13:34Speaker 1: please bucking the phone. The one and only Charlie Wilson.
- 13:38Speaker 1: So many people have really been trying to get me
- 13:40Speaker 1: to do a gospel record for so many years, and
- 13:42Speaker 1: I have been promising God that I would, I would
- 13:44Speaker 1: shout him out to do something, you know, and that
- 13:50Speaker 1: goes my baby. Come on, man, put a little Jesus
- 13:52Speaker 1: in your song. Come on, brother, miss Patty little ball
- 13:55Speaker 1: and you know what, I'm gonna be doing concerts and
- 13:58Speaker 1: little clubs. Thank you? What's your trio? So that I
- 14:02Speaker 1: can touch you when I'm sitting with my hands. Thank you?
- 14:04Speaker 1: See I told you be there Every Monday, ten am
- 14:07Speaker 1: the New Besy Love and Naty Money Making Conversation. She's
- 14:11Speaker 1: on the phone or my guest senior director for recruiting
- 14:14Speaker 1: in special projects for Major League Baseball. She's also a
- 14:17Speaker 1: record setting marathon athlete. Uh, welcome back to money making Conversations,
- 14:22Speaker 1: Ms celest Bill. Now, play like a girl. What exactly
- 14:26Speaker 1: is that organization that you really ran to raise money for?
- 14:30Speaker 1: What exactly is that organization? Yeah? So play like a girl.
- 14:34Speaker 1: They set out to encourage girls to continue to play sports. Um.
- 14:40Speaker 1: They believe that girls that play sports can do anything.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And I truly believe that is the case. Um, sports
- 14:48Speaker 1: bills confidence and you know, learning teamwork and there's so many,
- 14:54Speaker 1: so many skills that you learn through participating in sports.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And say so they not only introduced sport to some girls,
- 15:02Speaker 1: they try to make sure that that girls keep split,
- 15:06Speaker 1: keep playing sports throughout their lives. Um, and so it's
- 15:10Speaker 1: a great organization. UM. I connected with play like a
- 15:13Speaker 1: girl because I resent, you know, I played sports. I'm
- 15:17Speaker 1: you know, I'm the only girl of five children. I've
- 15:20Speaker 1: got four brothers, and UM, I grew up as a
- 15:24Speaker 1: tomboy playing sports, playing basketball, and so I know the value. Um,
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's the reason why I wanted to be in sports
- 15:31Speaker 1: and in place, you know, work in sports. And so, UM,
- 15:36Speaker 1: it's a it's a fantastic organization. UM that's only scratching
- 15:40Speaker 1: the surface in terms of what they're doing. And I
- 15:42Speaker 1: actually just got voted onto the board board of directors
- 15:45Speaker 1: this past week. Well, you run eight continent, who's gonna
- 15:48Speaker 1: chase you off? You know, you track anybody down? Get
- 15:54Speaker 1: my heads thought, okay, heads thought, okay, rishaw. When I
- 16:00Speaker 1: catch you're gonna be problems. Now, gonna be problems. Now
- 16:03Speaker 1: when I pass you up, gonna be more problems. Because
- 16:06Speaker 1: because you know your whole background I'm looking at you
- 16:08Speaker 1: have a bachelor's de grid Exercise and Sports Science for
- 16:11Speaker 1: the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. So you've always been
- 16:14Speaker 1: associated with that, the physicality I want to say, of
- 16:18Speaker 1: being an athlete. Correct, and would that help you? Did
- 16:23Speaker 1: that help you in the marathon? Because we wanted to
- 16:25Speaker 1: talk about this because when I was reading your blog,
- 16:27Speaker 1: you know you didn't have some difficult days. You know
- 16:30Speaker 1: I had a lot of But no, no, no, don't
- 16:33Speaker 1: you jump out of here, because I've been asking you
- 16:35Speaker 1: these questions. You've been giving me one answers. You know,
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yester fight great, I loved it. Now I'm talking about
- 16:42Speaker 1: difficult day. Oh yes, you have some horrible days. Well, well,
- 16:47Speaker 1: well you've been easing this little conversation then, like this
- 16:49Speaker 1: has been like a you know, easy money. But I
- 16:53Speaker 1: know I read it twenty six days. You have to
- 16:57Speaker 1: have recovery time. So when you hop what went I
- 17:02Speaker 1: have made a mistake that might have been the first one. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I I struggled. I struggled a lot. Um. I actually
- 17:17Speaker 1: got sick on the way to New Zealand. Um, you know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: like threw up on the plane and I was concerned about,
- 17:24Speaker 1: you know, getting to hydrated, and that's what happened in
- 17:27Speaker 1: the second and third races. Um. You know, I it
- 17:32Speaker 1: was really really hot. You know it was in the nineties,
- 17:35Speaker 1: um with terrible humidity, and UM, yeah, I struggled. I
- 17:42Speaker 1: thank God for getting me through every single week. Congratulations.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I enjoyed here in this party of life. Continue to
- 17:50Speaker 1: do the whole people are here this and realize that
- 17:53Speaker 1: when I'm trying to emphasize to everyone that you can
- 17:56Speaker 1: I've worked at IBM, I've worked up small businesses and
- 17:59Speaker 1: I'll always had that difficulty of balancing it. And I
- 18:03Speaker 1: feel that you're you're blessed in a way to have
- 18:06Speaker 1: understood the process the importance of it. Because in Major
- 18:09Speaker 1: League Baseball, you know, you know from Houston, so the
- 18:12Speaker 1: Houston Astros or the World champions. And I'm proud to
- 18:16Speaker 1: say and we will and we will repeat, we will repeat. Okay,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I want to put that out in public to Oliver America.
- 18:23Speaker 1: The Houston nastroals will be repeating and and I and
- 18:26Speaker 1: I bring that up because you know, you're you're your
- 18:28Speaker 1: your minority and you and you work for our sport
- 18:31Speaker 1: that that you know that that isn't considered a minority
- 18:34Speaker 1: sport other than international players. So, and you're in charge
- 18:39Speaker 1: of recruiting and special projects from Major League Baseball, explain
- 18:42Speaker 1: to us exactly what that what does that mean? As
- 18:45Speaker 1: the senior director. Yeah, so I run the recruiting team
- 18:49Speaker 1: for um, the league, and so I recruit and my
- 18:53Speaker 1: team recruits, uh, engineers, attorneys, finance professionals, you name it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: That acts staffed the league offices and so um. You know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: we hire a lot of engineers because there's a lot
- 19:06Speaker 1: of technology behind baseball and metrics. Yes, yes, and so
- 19:13Speaker 1: we has changed baseball. Metrics has changed baseball the way
- 19:16Speaker 1: Jeff Luna of the Houston Natural We absolutely brought that
- 19:20Speaker 1: over from the St. Nolis Cardinals. If you want to
- 19:21Speaker 1: follow baseball, you know, people are looking at the very
- 19:24Speaker 1: rotation of a baseball, the spin of a baseball, to
- 19:28Speaker 1: effect whether you're going to be a long term contract
- 19:30Speaker 1: or you're going to be a released pitch or relief
- 19:32Speaker 1: pitch or starter. So you know, because so you're just
- 19:35Speaker 1: saying that they hear the word engineer or sociary baseball,
- 19:39Speaker 1: who would think that you there their their job opportunities
- 19:42Speaker 1: at the Major League Baseball waiting for you to consider
- 19:45Speaker 1: correct exactly exactly. And one of the one of the
- 19:49Speaker 1: programs that we've recently connected to and put in place,
- 19:54Speaker 1: it's All Star Code UM. Allstar Codes an organization that
- 19:58Speaker 1: UM they're in the process of developing young engineers UM
- 20:01Speaker 1: black and Latino males and it's a fantastic organization that
- 20:05Speaker 1: UM we partner with for the last two years. UM.
- 20:08Speaker 1: They're looking to place these kids. They teach these kids
- 20:13Speaker 1: how to code on site in different organizations and you know,
- 20:18Speaker 1: with the with the thought process that they'll go into
- 20:20Speaker 1: computer science and they'll go to go into computer engineering,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and that they'll become the next face of technology within Google,
- 20:27Speaker 1: within Facebook, within Major League Baseball. UM. It's one of
- 20:31Speaker 1: it's one of the i'd say most favorite things that
- 20:34Speaker 1: that we're doing UM from a recruiting standpoint. Now, I'm
- 20:38Speaker 1: I with you go to I got I got the
- 20:41Speaker 1: app for Major League Baseball because the Astros are the
- 20:44Speaker 1: world champions. Okay, you know, you know I got just
- 20:48Speaker 1: to be real with you know, I'm about information. Now.
- 20:50Speaker 1: You know, I'm I'm a fan. I'm a Bandwagon fan,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but I'm a fan and so so what you do
- 20:56Speaker 1: is the interactive media you're coming they manage is the
- 21:00Speaker 1: official league site of all the thirty clubs. Correct, So
- 21:03Speaker 1: there's a lot of information. You know, Baseball has always
- 21:07Speaker 1: been probably the one sport that historically, you know, just
- 21:13Speaker 1: just just mind information. You know, you want to know
- 21:16Speaker 1: what Ty Cobb did, You don't want to know the
- 21:18Speaker 1: stoler base It is probably the most detailed sport in
- 21:22Speaker 1: the history of all sports when it comes to information
- 21:25Speaker 1: and backloging it and keeping a strong historical data. Correct.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And when you do all that stuff, you're the leader.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Your leader. And so so with that being said, when
- 21:36Speaker 1: you mentioned these programs about the Major League Baseball getting
- 21:39Speaker 1: behind you know, minorities and giving them, uh these doors
- 21:43Speaker 1: to open up and to participate in this for everybody
- 21:45Speaker 1: as well. But how can one how can one learn
- 21:49Speaker 1: about these programs? Because you have the major League Baseball
- 21:52Speaker 1: dot com site, are the other sites that they can
- 21:55Speaker 1: go to to find out more how they can get
- 21:57Speaker 1: involved with the job opportunities that are available at Major
- 22:00Speaker 1: League Baseball? So our you know, our career site. Of course,
- 22:04Speaker 1: there's always a great site UM LinkedIn. I always have
- 22:08Speaker 1: UM instead of my bio and who I am I
- 22:11Speaker 1: always as my summary, have the jobs that we're that
- 22:14Speaker 1: we're recruiting for linked in, they can, they can contact you. Correct, Absolutely,
- 22:22Speaker 1: that's hot. So so because that's actually that's how we
- 22:25Speaker 1: started talking. Okay, LinkedIn exactly started messaged ms Bell said
- 22:31Speaker 1: would you like to be on my show? She said fantastic?
- 22:34Speaker 1: And I went, we're friends. We're friends. And so that's
- 22:38Speaker 1: why I'm just letting everybody know how LinkedIn really really works,
- 22:40Speaker 1: because I had a LinkedIn expert on my show last
- 22:44Speaker 1: week and he was talking about really linked in. It
- 22:46Speaker 1: is like it's like, you know, employment opportunities, you were
- 22:49Speaker 1: you're concerned about career opportunities, things you can go with
- 22:52Speaker 1: your career and get jobs and and meet people in
- 22:55Speaker 1: the same or like minded feels. That's what LinkedIn is available.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Have you found that using LinkedIn has been effective in
- 23:01Speaker 1: your recruiting needs? Absolutely? We use that. That's like one
- 23:05Speaker 1: of our primary sources in terms of recruiting. Yeah. Okay,
- 23:08Speaker 1: So now there's another step in this whole conversation. So
- 23:12Speaker 1: how does one if they're listening it to my show
- 23:14Speaker 1: and they all linked in, how does one do they
- 23:17Speaker 1: just direct message you? Or how does how does that work.
- 23:21Speaker 1: M hm, you know, direct message and if let's say
- 23:25Speaker 1: a lot of times, if you don't have a connection, um,
- 23:29Speaker 1: you may have to use like LinkedIn mail. But there's
- 23:34Speaker 1: a way around that. You know. If you go to
- 23:36Speaker 1: someone's profile and you see that they're part of a group,
- 23:39Speaker 1: join that group, you know, so that you can you
- 23:43Speaker 1: can direct message them through the group, you know, because
- 23:47Speaker 1: you're a part of the same group. UM. So if
- 23:50Speaker 1: you don't have a connection of some kind, find the connection. Well,
- 23:54Speaker 1: there's all about if you want something, find a way
- 23:56Speaker 1: to get it, you know, so exactly forever opportunity that
- 23:59Speaker 1: I instead of working for Major League Baseball to be
- 24:01Speaker 1: a huge opportunity. You gotta learn to work and learn
- 24:04Speaker 1: to put the time in. And I found that it's
- 24:06Speaker 1: amazing what you're doing with your life. And uh, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 1: keep winning and keeping Thank you for coming on my show.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Thank you for sharing information about job opportunities to Major
- 24:14Speaker 1: League Baseball that people would even think about doing it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: You know, I'm on the phone. She's the same director
- 24:19Speaker 1: for recruiting their special projects from a League's Baseball and
- 24:22Speaker 1: more importantly, more importantly, she's an African American record holder
- 24:29Speaker 1: for marathon. She ran eight marathon that's twenty six point
- 24:32Speaker 1: two miles, eight days, eight continents. On top of that,
- 24:35Speaker 1: she's running a marathon in every state of this country.
- 24:39Speaker 1: She's amazing. Um, can we be friends and you call
- 24:42Speaker 1: me back and keep me posting because I gotta call.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna call you. We're gonna talk again a lot,
- 24:47Speaker 1: because you know, Astro's gonna run away and set records,
- 24:50Speaker 1: so I be's basically gonna call you. Just give me
- 24:52Speaker 1: some bragging fact. I just called you say what's the
- 24:54Speaker 1: record now? So let's what's the record? Now? Tell your
- 24:58Speaker 1: team and Major leagu Baseball. We got a big fan here.
- 25:01Speaker 1: If you ever need me, I'm there for you. Guys.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Keep winning, Akank, you appreciate you. You're fantastic. We'll be

- 26:23Speaker 1: marketing company committed to recognizing the young, successful, and empowered.
- 26:28Speaker 1: That's what RICE stands for. R y s E. The
- 26:31Speaker 1: company is based in the Lanta, Georgia. Atlanta, Georgia. Please
- 26:34Speaker 1: welcome to Money Making Conversations. My good friend j Jackson, Hey,
- 26:39Speaker 1: how you doing that? At a long times. So we
- 26:41Speaker 1: talk my friend, how you doing doing well? Man? Happy
- 26:45Speaker 1: New Year? Happy New Year? Happy. We can't revitate some
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a little moment here now. You cannot
- 26:51Speaker 1: be calling me and talking to me in February. Would
- 26:54Speaker 1: Happy New Year? We have a relationship, j You can't
- 26:58Speaker 1: tell me Happy New Year February. Man, you can't do
- 27:02Speaker 1: me like that, brother, keep doing me like this. You
- 27:04Speaker 1: are right about my friends. We're gonna do some badness. Absolutely,
- 27:11Speaker 1: We're gonna talk a little bit about that as well.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I know. So for first, listen to everybody know what
- 27:15Speaker 1: it incites me about our relationship and what you're doing.
- 27:18Speaker 1: But even without me, you know. And it's called Rise TV.
- 27:21Speaker 1: What exactly is Rise TV? Man? Roy TV is a
- 27:27Speaker 1: a video streaming service, uh for the urban community. Man.
- 27:31Speaker 1: So if you're if you're familiar with Netflix, uh, then
- 27:34Speaker 1: you we're are Netflix, but we target the urban community.
- 27:38Speaker 1: So we focused on programming that includes movies and series
- 27:43Speaker 1: and documentaries all created by urban filmmakers. Now with that
- 27:48Speaker 1: being said, because uh, is there a fee to subscribe
- 27:52Speaker 1: to Rise? Is that monthly fee? Absolutely? It is a
- 27:55Speaker 1: subscription based service. So it is very much, very much
- 27:58Speaker 1: like Netflix, but but we focused on on a niche market.
- 28:02Speaker 1: So yes, it is a subscription based service because as
- 28:05Speaker 1: we can see beause because I see to say, it's
- 28:08Speaker 1: like our stories, our oars, our time Rise TV. Now
- 28:13Speaker 1: now let's go, let's let's go. You know when a
- 28:15Speaker 1: guy like you, you know, listen, who is this guy
- 28:18Speaker 1: he's just gonna start, He's gonna compete with Netflix. We
- 28:20Speaker 1: all know, letflix, you can't compete with Netflix. Let's go ahead,
- 28:24Speaker 1: a little history about it, because you had you started
- 28:26Speaker 1: in Florida, correct, with the My Rise really came for
- 28:30Speaker 1: the name of your magazine. Correct, absolutely, So we started
- 28:34Speaker 1: off as a as a magazine. We started there as
- 28:36Speaker 1: a traditional magazine company. We had a print publication, and
- 28:39Speaker 1: then we evolved into the digital space as we saw
- 28:42Speaker 1: the digital evolution taking place, and uh, digital just a great,
- 28:47Speaker 1: great medium because it's the reach of it. And so
- 28:50Speaker 1: we began to really understand that core market. We we
- 28:53Speaker 1: always have targeted the urban demographic just because that was
- 28:56Speaker 1: a lane that we understood and anytime you're in media,
- 29:00Speaker 1: you want you can't be all things to all people.
- 29:02Speaker 1: So we we knew our market very well. We studied
- 29:05Speaker 1: our marketing, and so that is origins of where we
- 29:08Speaker 1: where we came from and and so so when you
- 29:12Speaker 1: sit around, this is all about content. And you know,
- 29:15Speaker 1: you hear him out there, and I just want to
- 29:16Speaker 1: slow everybody it down. You know. The reason that excites
- 29:19Speaker 1: me about any because he's an entrepreneur, he's a small
- 29:21Speaker 1: business owner getting into a very competitive field. There's content
- 29:25Speaker 1: driven because you know, Netflix is about you. You're going,
- 29:29Speaker 1: I'm teasing. I go on Netflix and I go, okay, well,
- 29:32Speaker 1: well nothing to watch, you know, and then they got
- 29:34Speaker 1: ton of things for me to watch. And I was
- 29:36Speaker 1: looking at last night, going I'm just going through it.
- 29:40Speaker 1: But I'm saying it's nothing to watch. But I'm going
- 29:43Speaker 1: through all these options, you know what I'm saying. It's
- 29:45Speaker 1: like it's crazy, you know, going like, okay, okay, I
- 29:48Speaker 1: saw Stranger Things, I saw The Defenders, I saw Punisher,
- 29:53Speaker 1: I saw Jessica Jones, I saw There Therevil okay, and
- 29:57Speaker 1: I just I just saw this new series called All
- 30:00Speaker 1: a Carbon, which is really good. So so that's me,
- 30:03Speaker 1: you know, that's me Rishan, you know, just sitting at
- 30:06Speaker 1: the house, you know, and I'm a guy. I was
- 30:09Speaker 1: sit up there and I will Binge. You know, I
- 30:12Speaker 1: started six o'clock on six pm on Friday night and
- 30:17Speaker 1: be wide awake and four am on Saturday morning. Still watch.
- 30:22Speaker 1: But let me let me let me add this in Rashana. Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 1: I know you use the term competing with Netflix, but
- 30:28Speaker 1: I always say we we don't see ourselves that as
- 30:31Speaker 1: necessarily competition with Netflix, because here's the thing, man, here,
- 30:35Speaker 1: here's the thing man. One thing that we truly believe in,
- 30:38Speaker 1: the one thing that we understood when we did the
- 30:40Speaker 1: magazine and everything evolving from that, is that people of
- 30:44Speaker 1: color want to see here and understand themselves through the
- 30:48Speaker 1: images that they see on the screen and on television.
- 30:51Speaker 1: You want to see images that reflect them. That's why
- 30:54Speaker 1: we see Black Pather being so successful among our community
- 30:58Speaker 1: and how we embrace sit and dressing up and to
- 31:01Speaker 1: go see it because it was something that we could
- 31:03Speaker 1: relate to. And so one of the things that I
- 31:05Speaker 1: started seeing as we were in the digital media space
- 31:08Speaker 1: was and I kept coming across all of these great
- 31:10Speaker 1: content creators, black creators or people that were creating content
- 31:15Speaker 1: target that our demographic that could not land distribution. And
- 31:19Speaker 1: I tell you, Rashan, I know you go to the
- 31:21Speaker 1: to the film festivals in all of these places, and
- 31:23Speaker 1: you see this great content that exists out there that
- 31:27Speaker 1: never sees the light of day beyond the film festivals.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And so that was what we said we wanted to
- 31:33Speaker 1: focus on, is those creators who could you are creating
- 31:36Speaker 1: that content that connects with the market that doesn't even
- 31:40Speaker 1: know that content exists. So so that's the lane that
- 31:43Speaker 1: we play in. And we focused on the niche because
- 31:45Speaker 1: we say Netflix targets the masses, but when you look
- 31:48Speaker 1: at their library of content, less than one percent of
- 31:51Speaker 1: their original content is created and market or targeted towards
- 31:57Speaker 1: our demographics. So that's kind of the lane that we play,
- 32:00Speaker 1: is that carving out that coordinache and that's why why
- 32:04Speaker 1: we're excited about what we do. Well, I'm excited because
- 32:07Speaker 1: of the fact that you know, first of all, you
- 32:09Speaker 1: make an attempt to do it, and that's the first
- 32:11Speaker 1: step in trying to give us options as options. And
- 32:15Speaker 1: you know, you have TV one, which I'm very proud of,
- 32:17Speaker 1: your BT which I'm very proud of. You know, if
- 32:20Speaker 1: New TV is out there, I think they're doing a
- 32:22Speaker 1: similar launch as you're trying to do. But the bottom
- 32:25Speaker 1: line is that being able to get those subscribers to
- 32:28Speaker 1: to to be there every every day. How do you
- 32:32Speaker 1: build that momentum? How what is the plan in place
- 32:34Speaker 1: for that? And you know, and I'm not trying try
- 32:36Speaker 1: trying to put you on the spot, just talking about
- 32:38Speaker 1: how people are finding your brand and how people are
- 32:41Speaker 1: and how I can help you, you know, promote your brand.
- 32:44Speaker 1: And that's why I got you on the show. Absolutely absolutely, Well,
- 32:48Speaker 1: here's the thing. The core thing is is really focusing
- 32:51Speaker 1: on who the target market is that we want to
- 32:54Speaker 1: deliver this to. Who do we feel like the commune
- 32:57Speaker 1: connects with this the most? And then we's from being
- 33:00Speaker 1: in those places marketing the show's marketing the different things
- 33:04Speaker 1: that we have on the on the platform in those places.
- 33:07Speaker 1: If our market target market is on Instagram, then we're
- 33:11Speaker 1: going to be marketing those shows on Instagram. If our
- 33:13Speaker 1: target market is at the College Champions and we want
- 33:16Speaker 1: to be at the College Champions, is letting them know, hey,
- 33:18Speaker 1: this is a new show we're adding, and this is
- 33:20Speaker 1: a lead series that we're attempting to add. What do
- 33:23Speaker 1: you think about this? And really really being in those
- 33:25Speaker 1: different places. If our core target market is listening to
- 33:28Speaker 1: the John McDonald's show. Then we want to be in
- 33:31Speaker 1: them telling them saying, hey, go to on the Rise
- 33:34Speaker 1: dot TV and check us out and and let us
- 33:38Speaker 1: know what you're looking for. Let us know what's in
- 33:40Speaker 1: the marketplace that you don't see that you would like
- 33:43Speaker 1: to see, and maybe we can work to work with
- 33:46Speaker 1: some creators to create that stuff. And so it takes time,
- 33:49Speaker 1: rashin and certainly is not something that happens overnight. We see,
- 33:52Speaker 1: you know, certainly TV one and d G and the
- 33:55Speaker 1: traditional media space for those companies have built over time
- 33:58Speaker 1: and some time is taking what they've been doing in
- 34:01Speaker 1: the cable TV market and now transitioning to the streaming
- 34:05Speaker 1: market where we see, you know, numbers are clearly clearly climbing.
- 34:10Speaker 1: It's amazing how you see, you know, because Netflix was
- 34:13Speaker 1: just was just sitting out there. You know, we're just
- 34:15Speaker 1: sitting out there, and you know, and Netflix, let me
- 34:19Speaker 1: just answer to this everybody, it's not television. Netflix. It
- 34:22Speaker 1: gets confused because you know, it's being nominated for Emmies,
- 34:25Speaker 1: But in the traditional format of what it is, it's
- 34:28Speaker 1: not television because you streaming, you stream it and so
- 34:31Speaker 1: you're not tied to a network. But but they win.
- 34:35Speaker 1: And all the reason I'm bringing up Netflix in the
- 34:37Speaker 1: conversation is to give people a comparison to exactly what
- 34:40Speaker 1: you're trying to do, but you're doing it from an
- 34:42Speaker 1: from a unique marketing standpoint. But they win because like
- 34:46Speaker 1: I have a remote, one of my remote on my TV,
- 34:49Speaker 1: it has Netflix right there right now. I can't help
- 34:55Speaker 1: but okay, out of curiosity, I might push it one day,
- 34:59Speaker 1: which I did. Then it goes me. Okay, you give
- 35:03Speaker 1: me an adult kid or other or if I want
- 35:07Speaker 1: to set it up for my wife or my daughter,
- 35:09Speaker 1: they can have their own little Netflix channel, you know.
- 35:12Speaker 1: So when I look at what you're doing, you're doing
- 35:15Speaker 1: the same thing. Jay was Rise as r y s
- 35:19Speaker 1: E Ride. You have an app you can download. I'm
- 35:23Speaker 1: just letting everybody know that there is something fantastic that
- 35:26Speaker 1: you're building and Rise TV and people need to get
- 35:29Speaker 1: on board man, absolutely, And I'll tell you, I thank
- 35:34Speaker 1: you for that. And we're too launching on the rocal device.
- 35:37Speaker 1: But you know, it's collaborating with people like you were
- 35:40Speaker 1: shy and I'll tell you you are in this space,
- 35:42Speaker 1: have been in this space for a number of years.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You have a number of resources you know, you understand
- 35:48Speaker 1: the people that we are trying to help. Even with
- 35:51Speaker 1: the context at the point, you understand those individuals, man,
- 35:54Speaker 1: and so you you certainly get it. So I thank
- 35:57Speaker 1: you for your time, your your your energy, your forces,
- 36:00Speaker 1: and just everything that you've been doing to to really
- 36:03Speaker 1: help us Catafornia. Yes, we gotta circle back around, man,
- 36:06Speaker 1: but we will. But now here's the deal, man, here's

- 45:15Speaker 1: doing today? Great? Well? Great? You know I always call it.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I think it like every quarter I gotta call and
- 45:20Speaker 1: check on you. You know, you used like a baby's
- 45:23Speaker 1: sister to me, and you're definitely a baby's sister in
- 45:26Speaker 1: the entrepreneur field because as an entrepreneur, you know you
- 45:29Speaker 1: just your business been here for almost a year. Right,
- 45:33Speaker 1: liver over your congratulations cover some fake applause or okay,
- 45:37Speaker 1: technology are not working, just me by myself. So being
- 45:40Speaker 1: in business, I wanted to bring you on the show
- 45:42Speaker 1: because you know, everybody wants to get in business, and
- 45:45Speaker 1: you think you have a great plan out there. So
- 45:48Speaker 1: let's first, let's let's tell everybody about what your business is,
- 45:51Speaker 1: and also your product line which I use. That's the
- 45:54Speaker 1: de bump remover. So tell everybody about your product line. Okay.
- 45:58Speaker 1: So the company has called Chamelia Elise. It's an all
- 46:01Speaker 1: natural skin care system for people who have hairs, razor, bumps, acne.
- 46:06Speaker 1: And then I recently added a few extra products for
- 46:09Speaker 1: stretch marks and um sell you like control. So I
- 46:14Speaker 1: have just been making sure that people are educated on
- 46:17Speaker 1: how to get rid of the bumps. And then I
- 46:20Speaker 1: recently opened a spa for our one year anniversary, we
- 46:23Speaker 1: opened a spaw downtown and in April, I am launching
- 46:27Speaker 1: Houston's first body Wrap school, so I'm teaching more on wellness,
- 46:31Speaker 1: um and weight loss as well. You said body what school?
- 46:35Speaker 1: Body wrap? So it's for infrared weight loss rep And
- 46:39Speaker 1: I go in there. Okay, now now you really you
- 46:43Speaker 1: always got something different going on, Lensley. Now you're gonna
- 46:47Speaker 1: wrap me up like a mummy. So I do those. Yeah,
- 46:51Speaker 1: that's contra wrapping. I do those, but I also do
- 46:54Speaker 1: infrared wraps, which are you go into it like a
- 46:57Speaker 1: sauna bed something that ll cool J just talked about
- 47:01Speaker 1: it on Ellen's So it's a sweat detox and it
- 47:04Speaker 1: helps you burn body that Okay, how does that work? Now?
- 47:07Speaker 1: This sounding I perked up in my chair. I didn't
- 47:10Speaker 1: know anything anybody when I'm gonna get that fly though, Lindsay, see,
- 47:12Speaker 1: I'm madaging that I'm gonna be trying to lose weight
- 47:15Speaker 1: during the cut, losing the pound to day and you
- 47:18Speaker 1: mean I just come lay on a bed and you
- 47:20Speaker 1: just just be my way to way that's what you're
- 47:24Speaker 1: talking about. Well, it's I mean basically, you're sweating it out,
- 47:27Speaker 1: so it's bringing your body to courts temperature up and
- 47:30Speaker 1: helping you to burn calorie basket. You burned between nine
- 47:33Speaker 1: hundred twelve hundred calorie processions. So yeah, that's in my
- 47:36Speaker 1: spot now. So you're definitely gonna have to come check
- 47:38Speaker 1: it out, because first of all, I owe you a visit.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Last time he's Shawn, I said, I'm gonna come by
- 47:43Speaker 1: on Friday, didn't show up? Did show up? Did show up?
- 47:47Speaker 1: So something bad to say? I didn't show up? But
- 47:50Speaker 1: now you got this machine. It means I could eat
- 47:52Speaker 1: one Crispy Creed donut going there and you're knocking out
- 47:56Speaker 1: with one bed session. Maybe I would say maybe one though,
- 48:04Speaker 1: this is this is fantastic. So let's let's talk about
- 48:06Speaker 1: the location of the spa because the show plays back
- 48:10Speaker 1: on our heart radio podcast and this give us some
- 48:12Speaker 1: phone numbers and some websites because you're fantastic and I'm
- 48:15Speaker 1: really a big fan of what you're doing in Houston
- 48:17Speaker 1: with your spa and with your skin care products. Well,
- 48:20Speaker 1: thank you so much. So we are located in downtown Houston,
- 48:24Speaker 1: next to House of Loess twelve oh one fan in
- 48:27Speaker 1: Street one seven. We're open Monday through Saturday ten to seven,
- 48:33Speaker 1: and for any of the spat services, of course, you
- 48:35Speaker 1: can go to the website, which is Camelia at least
- 48:37Speaker 1: dot com and then you can also call me at
- 48:40Speaker 1: A three two three eight four four six zero eight.
- 48:45Speaker 1: So so now what you gotta do now is now
- 48:47Speaker 1: you gotta give me a social media banner so we
- 48:49Speaker 1: can post it on money Making Conversation and drive traffic
- 48:52Speaker 1: to your business. Now, would be even better is if
- 48:55Speaker 1: I'm laying in one of those those little sweat beds.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna call it a sweat bed, and you take
- 48:59Speaker 1: a picture of me and then we posted they were
- 49:01Speaker 1: really gonna drive some business over there. Yes, that would
- 49:05Speaker 1: be excellent. Well, this is fantastic. So when you've been
- 49:09Speaker 1: in business for a year, any highs and loads that
- 49:11Speaker 1: you want to tell any of our our our listeners
- 49:14Speaker 1: about who are trying to get in business experiencing it.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Some of the things that you missed that you thought
- 49:19Speaker 1: you were aware of when you was planning out everything,
- 49:21Speaker 1: putting the budget together. Um, I think I was not
- 49:25Speaker 1: putting enough of a marketing budget together. So that was
- 49:28Speaker 1: one thing I had to learn, because you do, you
- 49:30Speaker 1: have to pay for ad space, you have to pay
- 49:32Speaker 1: for social media. UM, it's you know, it just can
- 49:35Speaker 1: be challenging to get everything out there on your own.
- 49:37Speaker 1: So I would say, make sure you have a marketing
- 49:40Speaker 1: budget ready to promote yourself. Um. And as far as
- 49:44Speaker 1: the highs, I mean, you know I told you before
- 49:46Speaker 1: I had Umlim Thug and a few other celebrities that
- 49:50Speaker 1: were so supportive of my startup. And then also the
- 49:54Speaker 1: retail location I won through a pitch competition, So I
- 49:57Speaker 1: would definitely say pitch competitions are great. Yes, you want
- 50:02Speaker 1: to pitch your conferensation in Houston called liftoff Houston, where
- 50:05Speaker 1: the first price was ten thousand dollars and they do
- 50:08Speaker 1: it every year. If you're listening in Houston, Texas, you're
- 50:10Speaker 1: a small business owner who has not established your business yet.
- 50:13Speaker 1: It's a great opportunity that I hosted this year. Uh
- 50:16Speaker 1: and I planned on hosting again. They got to run
- 50:19Speaker 1: me off because when I like something, I don't like
- 50:21Speaker 1: to walk away from it. But more importantly, you're a
- 50:24Speaker 1: small business owner and you and you win in right
- 50:26Speaker 1: now and and and the in the city that was
- 50:28Speaker 1: hit with a severe herricade, and I really really appreciate
- 50:31Speaker 1: and understand your success. And you've got my support, so
- 50:34Speaker 1: I always know. I just need that banner from you, Okay,
- 50:36Speaker 1: And I'm not kidding. I need that banner this week
- 50:39Speaker 1: so we can start posting and helping you promote and
- 50:41Speaker 1: guess what it will be for free from Rushan McDonald. Okay, Well,
- 50:45Speaker 1: thank you so much. You keep winning and I'm glad
- 50:49Speaker 1: and we're like said the next quarter, I'm gonna call.
- 50:51Speaker 1: We're gonna check on you and see how you're doing
- 50:53Speaker 1: and keep pushing your brand. And I'm a fan girl,
- 50:56Speaker 1: and you keep winning down in Houston, Texas. Okay, thank
- 50:59Speaker 1: you so much. You have a great day already. We'll
- 51:04Speaker 1: be right back with war from Rashan McDonald and Money
- 51:07Speaker 1: Making Conversations. Welcome to Money Making Conversations. It's the show
- 51:15Speaker 1: that she has the secrets of success experience firsthand by
- 51:17Speaker 1: marketing and Brandon expert Rashan McDonald. I will know he's
- 51:20Speaker 1: giving me advice to many occasions. In the case you
- 51:22Speaker 1: didn't notice, I'm not broke. You know. He'll be interviewing
- 51:26Speaker 1: celebrity CEOs, entrepreneurs and industry decision makers. It's what he
- 51:29Speaker 1: likes to do. It's what he likes to share. Now
- 51:32Speaker 1: it's time to hear from my man, Rashan McDonald money
- 51:35Speaker 1: Making Conversations. Here we come. Yes, this is Rashan McDonald
- 51:39Speaker 1: giving Sexy VARs with Sean McDonald host the Money Making Conversations.
- 51:44Speaker 1: My next guest is a female fitness entrepreneur. She's on
- 51:47Speaker 1: the phone right now. Celebrity health coach created a what's
- 51:51Speaker 1: a feeling athletic wear, which is inspired from the eighties.
- 51:54Speaker 1: You know, I got to talk about that because I
- 51:56Speaker 1: was a fitness instructor in the eighties, So we gotta
- 51:58Speaker 1: talk about that. And it's just a great new book
- 52:00Speaker 1: that I want to talk about in our first break.
- 52:02Speaker 1: It's called The Right Fit Formula. Please welcome from Los Angeles, California,
- 52:07Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations Christine Lucid. Hello, there you go, girl,
- 52:16Speaker 1: you go. That's the energy. I wouldn't need it. I've
- 52:17Speaker 1: been I've been waiting. Do you all wanted Christine energy
- 52:22Speaker 1: for you? Well, that's great because you know the thing
- 52:24Speaker 1: about it, because you're a motivator, right, a trainer, a
- 52:27Speaker 1: fitness person, because everybody doesn't want to do you know,
- 52:31Speaker 1: it's kind of interested. We want to do what you're
- 52:33Speaker 1: what you're pitching, but we really don't want to do
- 52:36Speaker 1: what you're pitching. When it comes to you gotta we
- 52:39Speaker 1: gotta weight train, you gotta lose weight. You gotta find
- 52:41Speaker 1: out what you want. And that's why I liked about
- 52:43Speaker 1: this book because that that's coming out because I've been
- 52:45Speaker 1: reading everything the body did my homework. Because you can't
- 52:47Speaker 1: buy it right now. The book is called The Right Fit.
- 52:50Speaker 1: I'm on the phone with Christine. Her last name is
- 52:52Speaker 1: spelled l U s I t A as l U
- 52:56Speaker 1: s I t A, and she has a book called
- 52:58Speaker 1: The Right Fit Form learn and tell everybody about this
- 53:03Speaker 1: book before I go in more detail. I don't want to.
- 53:05Speaker 1: I want I want to break break with you telling
- 53:06Speaker 1: us first. And then I got all my questions. You
- 53:09Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, all my questions, but I'm not
- 53:10Speaker 1: going to give away the book though, good, good, We'll
- 53:15Speaker 1: give away a little bit. Here's the thing you said
- 53:17Speaker 1: it exactly. What is corrupt is we really want to
- 53:22Speaker 1: reach our goals, but we don't really want to because
- 53:26Speaker 1: it's been so hard for us right until now, because
- 53:32Speaker 1: we have been trying to chase somebody else's version of perception,
- 53:37Speaker 1: some celebrity we admire, coworker, a friend, or a family.
- 53:42Speaker 1: And that's the wrong approach because when you chase after
- 53:47Speaker 1: what worked for someone else, it's no longer easier. It's
- 53:50Speaker 1: a struggle, and nobody wants to struggle in anything that
- 53:54Speaker 1: they do. And we've got to have um are. We've
- 53:59Speaker 1: got to be in a I'm meant to what works
- 54:01Speaker 1: for us in order in order for it to be easier,
- 54:06Speaker 1: which is why I created the Right Formula, which is
- 54:10Speaker 1: to help everybody finds their true right fit that honors
- 54:14Speaker 1: their uniqueness, that honors their individuality, and that's really geared
- 54:19Speaker 1: and based off of their personality, their lifestyle, what works
- 54:24Speaker 1: for them, what feels good to them. Because the truth is,
- 54:28Speaker 1: if it doesn't feel good, it doesn't matter because you're
- 54:31Speaker 1: never going to stick with it, That's absolutely the truth.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Or you want stick to you want, you won't stick
- 54:38Speaker 1: to it a long time. And so so when I
- 54:40Speaker 1: was here's the thing that this is why I liked
- 54:42Speaker 1: the book. First of all, I haven't ready yet, but
- 54:44Speaker 1: this is why I like the cover. On the cover,
- 54:47Speaker 1: she's leaping with a cupcake in I Hate You Gotta
- 54:51Speaker 1: Love a book that talks about weight law and the
- 54:54Speaker 1: star and the author is holding the cupcake because I'm
- 55:03Speaker 1: saying you can have your cake and losely. When I
- 55:09Speaker 1: saw that, we went on Amazon. You know, I was
- 55:12Speaker 1: trying to download you can't. So you can pre order
- 55:14Speaker 1: the book right now. Yeah, it's coming out in two weeks,
- 55:16Speaker 1: so pre ordering, get your ordering right now. See, I'm
- 55:19Speaker 1: on top of my game with your Christine, you know,
- 55:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna top of my game trying to sell you
- 55:22Speaker 1: some books. Now, when your book come out, we're gonna
- 55:24Speaker 1: come back on. We're gonna go through word by word
- 55:27Speaker 1: and let everybody know. And I'm probably gonna have my
- 55:29Speaker 1: right fit formula died, playing down pad and everything. I'm
- 55:33Speaker 1: gonna be probably I wait, two old five right now,
- 55:37Speaker 1: two on four right now, I'm probably gonna be a
- 55:39Speaker 1: by the end of your one fifth. All these times
- 55:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna do because I enjoy I enjoyed listening to
- 55:47Speaker 1: people like you who motivate, who engage people, because that's
- 55:50Speaker 1: what you do correct not too right, And and the
- 55:53Speaker 1: whole goal of that, I mean, the cover of the
- 55:56Speaker 1: book was really to show you, guys that life is
- 55:59Speaker 1: about that leans. Nothing works if you're ever going to
- 56:02Speaker 1: restrict yourself and you can have it all. You can,
- 56:05Speaker 1: like I said, have your cake and lose weight too,
- 56:08Speaker 1: because that's what life is meant to be a balance.
- 56:12Speaker 1: And every single chapter in the book is broken down.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Let's face it, Rachan, there are certain obstacles that everybody
- 56:21Speaker 1: will face on a journey to lose weight and live healthier.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Nobody is immune to these obstacles, whether it's learning to balance,
- 56:32Speaker 1: whether it's learning to um uh who's looking for, Whether
- 56:38Speaker 1: it's learning to manage your time or find more energy
- 56:42Speaker 1: or clear the clutter out of your life, or to
- 56:45Speaker 1: learn how to make goals that you can rock. Whether
- 56:49Speaker 1: it's learning how to quiet down that self inner critic,
- 56:53Speaker 1: you know, whether it's learning to find workouts that actually
- 56:56Speaker 1: feel good to your body, whether it's learning to foods
- 57:00Speaker 1: that you love. The problem is is anyone who's ever
- 57:03Speaker 1: tried to lose weight definitely knows um the obstacles that
- 57:08Speaker 1: you'll see, but awsolutely excuse me the pain that happens.
- 57:13Speaker 1: And there's disconnection. I mean, do you know anyone who's
- 57:16Speaker 1: going on a weight loss plan and said, m I
- 57:19Speaker 1: love what I'm eating? Right? No, right, in fact, I'm
- 57:24Speaker 1: agreeing with your dad. You have these plans out there
- 57:26Speaker 1: that really frustrate you, you you know, and they almost you know,
- 57:30Speaker 1: if you stick with it. I've done them all, the
- 57:32Speaker 1: crazy you know, the lemon the lemon diet, you know
- 57:35Speaker 1: that you know you just drinking, you just eat lemons,
- 57:38Speaker 1: the popcorn die I've done all a little quick crazy,
- 57:43Speaker 1: you know, I've done them all, you know, But like
- 57:45Speaker 1: I said, you know, because you know you're gonna ride
- 57:47Speaker 1: If gimmicks say quick, you're gonna ride gimmicky. And that's
- 57:50Speaker 1: what your book is saying. This book is not about gimmick.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Is a boy finding your right lane to losing weight
- 57:56Speaker 1: and a healthy lifestyle. That's what I took away in
- 57:59Speaker 1: doing our research on the book. Is about is about you.
- 58:03Speaker 1: The dot is important, but it's also about looking inside yourself,
- 58:08Speaker 1: your faith, you where you in your life, get all
- 58:11Speaker 1: that balance correct. And I thought that was a really
- 58:13Speaker 1: interesting approach that you've taken with this book. Thank you.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I really wanted to build the person reading it. First
- 58:21Speaker 1: of all, I wanted it to be a totally narcissistic book.
- 58:24Speaker 1: It's finally time it's about you. Right, you are the
- 58:27Speaker 1: trend in two thousand and eighteen forgets the trend. You're
- 58:30Speaker 1: the trend, and finally we need that because if it
- 58:33Speaker 1: isn't completely in a hundred percent about you, isn't going
- 58:36Speaker 1: to be authentic, and it's going to be very difficult
- 58:39Speaker 1: for you to sushame. And I understand that so well
- 58:43Speaker 1: because I've had a personal journey. I've lost thirty pounds
- 58:47Speaker 1: ten times in my life, and I know that every
- 58:50Speaker 1: single time that I did. I was working out to
- 58:53Speaker 1: James fond of Tejan now that area era, I love her.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I love the eighties. I'm gonna talk about that next break.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Tell you right now the vine. I love the great vibe.
- 59:13Speaker 1: But that's the thing I mean, there's a disconnection from
- 59:17Speaker 1: the thing is is trying failing, trying failing, right, that's
- 59:21Speaker 1: the that's the pattern and the cycle of the yo
- 59:23Speaker 1: yo dieter. And anyone knows the pain that comes on that.
- 59:26Speaker 1: How many times have we said I'm gonna start mondation right,
- 59:31Speaker 1: But if we're keeping it real is that that is
- 59:34Speaker 1: never gonna last. And that builds a complete disconnection to
- 59:37Speaker 1: who we are because now we forgot what's really important
- 59:41Speaker 1: to us, because we're identified with you know, being a
- 59:44Speaker 1: chronic dieter or thinking that we're a failure, when the
- 59:47Speaker 1: truth is that's the complete opposite that trying and failing.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Trying and sailing for most of us is showing that
- 59:53Speaker 1: we've got resiliency and we need to learn how to
- 59:56Speaker 1: use our inside strength to work for our that self.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: And that's what every chapter in the book is. It
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: it's dedicated to making you um see your values because
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: the truth is, you've got to value yourself because it's
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: really hard to change something that you don't value. That's important.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I'm on the phone with Christine. She's the author of
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a book that I'm gonna buy called The Right Fit Formula,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: and it's the book about let me just read this,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: a little lying about it said, and this highly relatable
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: and easy to follow guy. Christine shows you how to
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: achieve your version of personal success, which you were just
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: talking about having a battle for years with the endless dieting,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: which you and I both just mentioned about all these little, crazy,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: gimmicky diets that we drop on. Christine has created a
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: unique and individualized weight loss transformation system for people, for
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: people exactly like you, which is me and anyone else
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: who's listening, who have no time, tons of stress, and
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: a constant battle with the mirror and the scale. Wow,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: and it's everybody listening right now, because you know I
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: got that angle though, Christine, I got that angle where
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I look good though. You know I got that. But
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: if I could just walk down the street like that,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: people think I'm weird, but I look good from the side, y'all,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I look good, but I can't hold that pose you know,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: my knees kind of being at a certain angle, and
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I've been back. I got my arms that admit I'm
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: sexy right there. I'm sexy right there, big time looking good.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: That's right. Everybody got that pot, everybody got that pose.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: But you're talking about not posing, just really living a
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: normal life and being able to win with it. That's
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: what you're talking about. That's right. I'm tired of people
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: having to hide. I'm tired of us having to all
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: wear black clothes. You know how many times someone asked
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: me in my life time if I was pregnant just
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: because I had a couple of extra pounds on me. Mistake,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: made the mistake, the please don't make that mistake of
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: a message to all men. Never asked a woman if
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: she is pregnant with my She looked at me, didn't
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: speak to me for several days, call me stupid by
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: four or five times, and I was ground felt. I
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: was probably the quietest did I ever had my life
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: with my wife. She was doing all the talking. She's
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: doing all the talking. I wanted to get. I wanted
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: a plan that was a keep it real plan, And
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: right now there is so much diet confusion out there,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: wus time. Did you know that there's over diet books
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: released a year and guess what, America is still failing.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: And it's not for a lack of diet information out there. God,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: we've got enough diet plan for the next twenty years.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: The problem is that it's we're missing the most important ingredient,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: which is you. It's got to be completely about you
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: otherwise it's not going to work. And that's the approach
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I'm talking about here. Well, I'm on the phone. We're
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: gonna come right back in a couple of minutes, uh,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: with a break, because I I want to talk about
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: your nutrition. I want to talk about you an entrepreneur.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I want to talk about your clothing line, and more importantly,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: just you in general, because your energy is so fantastic
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: and I know that to keep it there is a
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: special a special being that you've gotten to. We'll be
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: back with more with my good friends. He's calling from

- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Because a fish don't get bigger as long as it's
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: inside of the boat, get bigger when you put it
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: in a poet. Ladies and gentlemen, please blocking the phone.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: The one and only Charlie Wilson. So many people have
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: really been trying to get me to do a gospel
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: record for so many years, and I have been promising
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: God that I would, I would shout him out to
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: do something, you know, and burn my baby. Come on, man,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: put a little Jesus sing them song comes Patty little bell,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: and you know what. I'm gonna be doing concerts and
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: little clubs. Thank you, Thank you for you so that
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I can touch you when I'm singing with my hand.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Thank you. See I told you be there every Monday,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: ten am the noon. Bisy love of Naty, money making
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: conversation cool. I'm back, Roshan mcdonne. I'm back to talk
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: to my good friend. She's calling from Los Angeles. She's
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: promoting the book and other things called The Right Fit Formula,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: and on the cover, like I told her, she's jumping
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: up and down with a cupcake in her hand. That
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: inspired me to say, this is the book for me
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: to read about weight loss. But more importantly, it's a
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: book about you know your life, where you're going, you
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: know what works for you, and not so much as
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: throwing an idea and you're supposed to run with it.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: But anytime you have a person who puts out these books,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: let me just tell you a little bit more background
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: about it about her so we can just get in
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: detail on this break about it. She's a behavioral change
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: specialist with an emphasis on everyday health. As a naturally
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: certified nutrition and mindfulness educator, She's a regular contributor to
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: the national media, including to Theday Show which we all watch,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Extra TV which we all watch, Steve Harvey, What y'all Know,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I Know, Inside Edition, ABC News, and CBS News. She
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: lives happily with her husband and her adorable boxer Lily
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: and Los Angeles, and is the creator of what A
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Feeling Active Where, which is an eighties inspired custom. At
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: at Least your Brain If you called at least your
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: brain is a word you made up there, It's okay,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: cool now now, because I wanted I want everybody to
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: know that, because you know, when you write these books,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: some people don't have the resume to write a book
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: and because they can get popular and then people put
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: their name on the book. And that's what you were
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: talking about. A lot of people out there right, Celebrities
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: write these books and all these things, and they're not
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: tied to an expert that will give any credibility that
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: they just said, I lost the weight, and then you
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: can lost the way through. You can lose the weight
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: to saying well, I lost the weight. But you're trying
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: to talk about consistency, talking about lifestyle. You're talking about
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: long term care. You're talking about a five week program
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: or one week program. You're talking about a lifestyle change. Correct,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: that's right. This is a health and this is a
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: retirement plan for your health and well being, because that's it.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: And nobody knows that better than I do. Because not
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: only am I writing about this, and not only do
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I do this for her career for the last sixteen years,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: and I've lived this journey myself. I know the pain,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I know the struggle, I know the obstacles, but then
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I also know the tool. No, I love your energy.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I love your energy. I can tell you that TV,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: because you know when you do TV, you gotta keep
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: that level of energy up at a certain time because otherwise, Lord,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: it won't bring you back. Boy, she was for for
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: athletic person. She wasn't really energetic. Now, I ainbody gonna
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: lose weight whenever, So let's talk about this athletic I
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: know they won't. They won't, and I appreciate that. That's
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: why you will be. I'm a fan of you, and
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: you will be back on my show anytime you reach
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: out my book coming out. Can you post this on
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: your social media? Hey, yeah, you're my girl. We're gonna
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: get this role a little money making conversation. So here's
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: the deal. Um there activewear, because I'm gonna be honest
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: with you. Are in the eighties, I was a fitness instructor,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: all right. I was a fitness instructor. I wore the
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: leg waggy leg warmers. I had to type. I'm gonna
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: tell you something. If anybody remember the movie Perfect, I
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: looked just like John Travolta. I had I had the
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: little I had spand Dex whatever whatever the legs on.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: I had my little my little tank top on. I
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: had my head band around my throw. Girl, you couldn't
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: say nothing to me. That didn't say that boy was hot.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: He was hot. But here's the funny think about those
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: classes that at the beginning of each month, that first
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: week packed packed. You couldn't even you couldn't even stand
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: in the room next to the body was so packed,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying That the second week, oh,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: they started dropping off. By that fourth week, if you
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: started with fifty, you had by ten people left. And
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: that's what you're talking about because they came in, you know,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: it didn't fit their schedule or lifestyle change, or or
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: they realized that I'm not gonna I'm not gonna put
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: this all in. This is not something I want to do.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: This is a lot harder than I thought. And you're
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: talking about Rashwan not saying that that what I was
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: doing was a gimmick, but it wasn't for everybody. And
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: that's what the right Fit formula is all about. Guinea
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: people in a weight lost lifestyle that fits them on
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: a daily basis. That's exactly an alignment to who they are.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Dr Phil and Oprah would never be in the same
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: workout class ever. Open would be high fiving pointing out
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: something good about people, and Dr Phil will be like
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: you're gonna tell me to do what wearing down his mustache,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: you know, Steve, Steve, he'll work out, but he won't
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: do it on TV. He's gonna keep that suit on,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you know, keep that suit on. He ain't gonna figure out.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: He would never take that suit. He get down to
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: a vest. That's about as close as he's gonna get
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: to work it out. And when you do, and when
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you look at this book, just let's talk about these
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: eighties fashionist active where so we can get a visual
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: on exactly, and also the website that we can go
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: and actually look and make purchases. Because you got me,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: because every time I tell my wife, you know, I was,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: you know, when we were dating, when I was doing
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the the fitness classes and everything. So she laughs at
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: me whenever I bring it up, you know, and when
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I when I said grape fine, she knows I know
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. When I said great, great Christine,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: oh yeah, you know, yeah, I'm doing it right now.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Did you know the Grapevine that was the ultimate fitness Steff,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: that was the ultimate fitness staff Now you know you
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: did the Running Man? Come on now, come on now,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: the Butterfly. You now talk about talk about the fitness,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: the fitness. Look, what do you have to offer? How
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: many options? And all those good things good? You know,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: for me, the whole the whole concept of what a feeling.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: It's the tie into the eighties, okay, and nothing to
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: me is better than that, um Er and I and
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: and I had been trying to find um clothes that
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: fit me forever and and like I talked about either
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: I looked like Betty Boop it was too small or
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: big like Pope Francis, you know. And I was spending
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: so much money, time effort because a lot of this
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: athletic were they made for really tall people. They forget
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: about the five three people. Um And so I decided,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: you know, I wanted to make a brand that made
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: every woman feel good in her body and in her clothes.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: And so that's why I wanted to blend what I
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: felt was so important, which is a total eighties chick
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: like off the shoulder cheese body called Hello Bendy Lacker spirit.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: And I wanted it to be colorful because too many
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: women are we're hiding our bodies, because we're ashamed of
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: our bodies, because we have as a couple of extra
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: pounds and this is the time no more two thousand
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: and eighteen, no more. So this is a a blend
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: of all of that keeps up you know, sexiness, blastmans
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: alive with some modern minds hot colors to make you
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: sheep today. And I also wanted to make it affordable,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: and I wanted to make it a mix and match
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: palette so you could have these pieces from years to come.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: So if you go onto my website, Christine Lucida dot com,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: you can go and shop on there now. It's being
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: launched in three weeks, so hang tight, you'll see you'll
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: see a little whole placeholder on there three weeks. I
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: promise you it'll be something that you'll never forget. You'll
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: love these pieces. And the whole greatest thing about my
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: weather feeling athletic wear is not only is it meant
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to look at and feel good roch, but the truth
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: is I want to do good in the world, and
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: a portion of every sale will get to go to
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: one of your favorite charities, and I give you options
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: on their pick you want your percentage to go to.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: That's awesome, That's really really awesome, and I respect that
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: you give back because that's what this show is about.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: This show is about money making. Conversation has been built
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: to give back. It is like a national mentory metor
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: show about the give also free promotion give people. The
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: plug is something tied to comment on my show. I
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: don't have any gimmicks. You call me and you is
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: gonna pop up or your mail box later on. No,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: this is about your brain. And I say that you
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: have a book coming out, so I need a social
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: media banner for that. You do when it's when it's active,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: where eighties come out. I need a social media banner
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: for that so I can post it, so we can
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: let people know and have fun with life. And that's
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: why I enjoyed this show. I'm having fun with you,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: and I hope you have in the same amount of energy,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: positive energy that I'm giving to you because I'm a
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: fan and you should keep winning me. Because you're an
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: entrepreneur and you're willing to get up and promote your
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: brand and let the world know that you're special. I
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: love that and I love your energy as well. Not
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: to You're right. Life it's about feeling good and like
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I said before, if it doesn't feel good, it doesn't matter.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: That's my whole philosophy for life. On any projects I
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: take on as an entrepreneur, as any foods that I
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: eat and workouts that I do, I apply that one
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: simple philosophy. Do what feels good with my friend. You
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: got up for me. I hope, I hope. I I
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: sold you. I sold you in the brand of Rushan

- 1:17:54Speaker 1: it's a great one, uh, to show. I've inviewed so
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: many people today on press is this day. That means
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: either they off work or I just lined up a
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: lot of guests. I'm about to look at my talent
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: bookers because they put I've been talking about behind though.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: You know, on the show the day we had Celeste Bail,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: she's a record setting marathon runner eight continents, eight marathons
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: in eight days. Let me tell you one more time.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Eight continents, eight marathons, eight days at twenty six point
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: two mile marathons and she did it eight days in
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: a row. She's also which I think is fantastic, is
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: she's balanced her life because she's also the senior director
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: of recruiting. I mean she hires people from Major League Baseball.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: That's the amazing part about that type of relationship and
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: how we win and we're gonna win big with that.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: So we're gonna keep doing it and making it happen.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: So also on the show, we had my man, uh,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Jay Jackson, founder of the new streaming network Rise, and
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Lindsey Brantley, who owns a new spa and healthcare product
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: line in Houston, Texas. It's amazing amazing, amazing, and we're
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: gonna make it happen. So we're gonna, as I call it,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: what happened. Okay, cool, already, y'all got all these sad
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: faces off. A man, let me no no oh boy
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: walking around here all sad everything. We're good. Uh. I
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: gotta watch my staff, man, you can't. You can't watch
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: their faces. They're they're running you crazy. My next yest,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: he's on the line, and I'm happy because, guess what,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: I could not have picked the more appropriate time to
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: book my next guest because the movie Black Panther has
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: been destroying all box office records. He's the founder, the
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: very popular and I know it's popular because I've been
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: knowing about it for years and had the pleasure of
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: attending the American Black Film Festival. Please welcome to money
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: making Conversation. Jeff Friday, Hello, my man. How you doing,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: my friend, man, I'm doing wonderful. You're not always staying
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: there in the same zone, but I'm doing particularly well
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: a day that's mine. Come on, brothers, my brother's movie
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Severn box office on one of my young young brothers
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: from the past. Come on, ye talk, Jeff talk, Jeff,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: Come on now you're been screaming about this. You've been
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: telling everybody, this is a great day in Hollywood. Brother.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: We call it black power on screen. That's exactly what's
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: going on when you look at what's happening in television
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: right now. We got about nine or ten great black
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: shows on TV. And now we're in drama, scoms, and
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: we got black His Queen, Share her Everything everything you
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: can say, power, Insecure, power, Marie shows. So now we're
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: dominating the box office. And what what this shows, it's
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: just the power of the black image, man. So you know,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: for you, throughout our history, particularly entertainment, the institution has
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: been suppressed in the black image, give you one dimensional
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: images what they think black life is supposed to be.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: And now, for the first time, really in my professional life,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: we have we have the full range of black people,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: black black experience on various screens, big and small. And
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: it's a wonderful time, brother. And and let's Black Panther Magestion.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: You have never seen a movie of this magnitude with
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: black kings and queens and black empowerment and black people
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: doing supernaturalistic scenes. And it's wonderful, man. So we just
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: gotta keep this going, and we will. We will because
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: you've been, because you've been champion this, you know, And
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: that's why I wanted to That's why I said, I
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: couldn't have picked up better time to interview you because
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: of the fact that this is what you've been championing.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: I've been big time sponsors coming to your Aca Poco
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Film Festival and now in Miami, you've been, You've been,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: this has been your thing, time, your your engagements together.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: You know what what what is the growth of the
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: American Black Film Festival. Well, this is the twenty second years,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: as you know, and uh, you know, we started, like
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: you just said, back in ac Poco, Mexico and there
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: was nine d of us. I just saw Kenny Edmonds
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago in l a and he
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: was like what year was because he was at the
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: very first year and what it was that I said,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: it was nine twenty two years ago. You know. There
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: there are people at the festival now that weren't born
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: when we started. But but it's just a testament to
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the black community. I mean, we always talk about, you know,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: what we don't do right as a community. We don't
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: support each other, We don't you know. We don't economic
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: we don't support black business, we don't support each other's work,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: we don't encourage each other. But you know, I will
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: say for me personally, it's been a labor love because
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: we've been able to show the world that black people
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: do support each other. Yes, we could listen. You wouldn't believe, Chelle.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: People asked me, why do you need a Black film festival?
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: So now I just say Ryan Coogler, they said, they
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: said to hup. You know. So bottom line is, we've
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: been doing this a long time and twenty two years.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: It's a long this that's two decades of this man.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: And it only works. It only works because people care
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: about it, you know, celebrities and and and in the
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: in the movie going community around the country. I mean, now,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: we started ninety people in ven Now we have nine
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: thousand people who come to congratulationship gulationship like this. This
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: is a community effort. We're gonna share the credit. And
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna tell you something because
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: you know, because I know it's been a journey. Because
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: you know, when when I was producing and created the
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Neighborhood Awards, you know, you had to have celebrities, and
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: that was a period man where you know, it was nothing.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: But you know, the blacks that were on TV were
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: reality show stars, you know, and they were not putting
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: forth the best image, you know, fighting throwing glasses at
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: each other. And I had a part time booking the
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Neighborhood Awards because I had sponsors, and so sponsors not
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: gonna want to be tied to somebody who's acting to
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: food on TV. And so when I see what's happening now,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: you know, and that kind of I think he kind
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: of started with Blackish, you know a little bit, and
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: then you know, and now the momentum is like just
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: gotten out there and there's such a pause of the way.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: But I love the fact that when I look at
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the name was sa Ray, who's the star of Insecure?
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: When I look at the names like Pete Chapman and
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: then of course Ryan Coogler, will you just mentioned. I
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: love the fact that I was just talking to a
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: friend of mine last night, the fact that he did
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Creed and Michael B. Jordan's was the star of Creed
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: and he carried him over the Black Panther. But before that,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: before that, it did Fruit Fell Station, oh yeah, I
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: know from was the Star, that from you and and
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: and that's how and that's how it's been working in
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: the in the in the in the industry. You know,
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: they get opportunity, they work with us, you know, Steven
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Spielberg and he carries him to the next movie and
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: they and they work. Any who we're honoring next week
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: has done it. She did a whole season of Queen
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: Sugar with Black with women as director. Because the other
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: issue we have in our business is, you know, kind
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: of like the marginalization of the work of women, you know,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: just like they do of African Americans and Matinos. So
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: there's some serious you know, it takes about It takes
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: people with a vision, and it takes people who are
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: game changes and people who think beyond themselves. And that's
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: all of this is. And when you said Steven Spielberg, yes,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: they do do it, and and and they proudly do it.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: And I and I so I congratulate them because they
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: bring each other to the party. And what we've done
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: historically is we get in the party and get so
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: glad that we're there, we forget about, you know, like
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: you go to you go to a club and they
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: let you in and you forget about your boys outside.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: But that's about you know, so metaphorically Hollywood the club.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: And when we get in the club, we gotta go
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: back to the door and say, yo, I'm not going
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: into my boy can't coming. And that's what people like
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: like Able Duven they have done, and that's what you
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: know Ryan's done, because it's not just about Michael B.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Jordan on on the front of in front of It's
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: about the cruise they hired. Because when you look at
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: a movie, it might be three hundred people who get
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: a check to get paid the work on the movie,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: only ken only ten are in front of the camera.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: What about the two ninety people who you don't know,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: who have families, who have families too. That's amazing, that's
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: amazing that you gotta think about the This isn't this
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: isn't a business for fund This is about money. There's
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: some heavy economics around entertainment. And if you're going to
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: be at the forefront of this fight, you gotta bring.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: You gotta go back to the front door, and you
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: gotta let your boys, you know, or go open the
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: back door, let them and whatever joy you go to,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: you gotta let someone you got gotta let your people
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: participate in be a part of this. If you got
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: two events coming up here, you got two events coming up.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: One is February that's in Los Angeles, and you have
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: the other one your Your Film Festival, which is June
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: thirteenth through thee in Miami. Tell us about the first
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: the Honors award for a b f F Honors on February.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: So Honors is like, um, it's a celebration of people
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: who are already kind of made it, you know, hoss,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Like our Golden Globes, you have it every February doing
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Black History Month. This year we're honoring Abra duven A,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Billy d Williams, Amari Hartrid from Power, and Tiffany Haddish
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: uh and also the show Martin. We have we have
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: a Classic Television Show Award that we're given to the
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: show Martin Launge a T shirt to Cheating and Note
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: and that whole crew. So that's kind of like a
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: black Golden Globes. And that's to celebrate people that are
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: already working. Then the festival, which is nearly due to
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: My Heart, is where it all began. I think the
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: festival is in June in Miami, June thirte to the seventieth.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: That this is the one We need everybody to come
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: down because the festival is where people like Will Packer,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: who produced Girls, Trip and Ride Along and probably I
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: think his total box office grows now it's about eight
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: hundred billion dollars. Now, that's where he got his start.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: And that's where Ryan Coogler and Lisa Ray and all
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: the people that you know and you'd love to do,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: that's kind of where they started, you know. There there.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: It's got to be an entry point. And what we
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: tried to do for twenty two years is provide an
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: entry point for talented black people to work and succeed
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: in Hollywood. And it's working. And it only works that
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: people come nine thousand, the best nine thousand people you
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: ever want. You know, I'm telling you it's it's a
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: love fest. It's black people are beautiful, they're positive. Everybody's working,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: and everybody's not in entertainment. I would say one really
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: important thing, you don't have to be black to come,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: and you don't have to be an entertainment to come.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: It is a multi cultural crowd and everybody is not
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: an actor about half the people might be in the
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: other half of the people are teachers and doctors and
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: lawyers and priss assists and all types of things, you know,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: And so it's just a great it's a great experience,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: and we keep getting bigger, and I just want to
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: encourage everybody to really come down because that's where this
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: whole face starts out in Miami. And you, well, my man,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: you you send me some banners. I'm promoted for you.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: I wanted to get you on the show to get
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: this out here, man, And I'm a fan. Just the
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: first time we've ever actually talked person to person. We've
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: seen each other passing. But I'm a fan, and so
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: I will support you when you don't even know about it. Okay,
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: So send those banners to me and let's pack the places.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I don't want to give a stat about when you
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: said the diversity of the attendance Black Panthers audience break
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: down was black. They're just seven percent white, eighteen percent Latino,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: five percent Asian. That lets you know that when you
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: go to the American Black Film Festival, it's gonna be
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: the same level diversity. Have a good time. Thank you
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: for calling. Thank you so much. And good luck to show.

- 1:30:46Speaker 1: would shout him out to do something. But you know,

- 1:31:16Speaker 1: My next guest is a music icon, a music icon.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I've been knowing him and been playing and been praying
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: with his music for the last twenty five years, so
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: I know what he can do. He's worn over twelve grammys.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: And forty three Stellar awards and sold over ten million albums.
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: I'm included in that sale of ten million albums or
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: c d s. Please working with the money making conversation
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: the founder and CEO or for your Soul Entertainment, Kurt Franklin, Sir, Sir,
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: my man, Kurt, Kurt, A lot of things happening here.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: It's all about business because you're entrepreneur. And that's why
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: this short design I've talking about celebrities like you who
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: learned that I got success on the stage, I got
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: success in theaters, I got success in music. I can
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: success and acting, but I can generate revenue and opportunities
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: with my brand. And that's what foreshow entertainment is about, right.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: You know, it is the opportunity man to um do
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: that UM with the primary agenda of just keeping the
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: conversation of God and hope within the culture and to
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: be able to see that compassion and commerce can coexist.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: So I'm very grateful for that opportunity here, man, Thank you,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: and it's good to hear your voice again. Bro. Well
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: you know I hear your voice all the time. Kurt.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying because I I you just
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: You're just special. Man, I got I got a complimented. Uh.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: When I've had down days, your music have made me
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: uplifted me. And that's not just me. Hundreds and thousands
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: and millions of people around this world have been uplifted
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: by your music. And when I just gotta say, when you,
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: when you when you hear something like that, does it
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: put pressure on you? Oh? You just makes you feel
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: good and let you know God has put you in
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: the right direction with your life. Very humbling. And then
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: at times if you don't have the right lens on
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: that day, because you know, when you wake up every morning,
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: you may not always have the right lands on, and
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: so that maybe days when you have the wrong lean
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: zone and you can't feel pressure because you've got yourself
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: land zone. You know, it's it's very um consume with
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: you and thinking that you're the one that got you here,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: realizing that you know, it's more about you're being used
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: by God to make an impact on culture and in
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: people's lives. And so man, as I think the lords
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: of that opportunity. Man, You've always feel to me been
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: a leader in music, you know, be the leader. And
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: also I have a young voice, you know, we have
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: a generation out there. They call it the millennial generation,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: the entrepreneurship generation. Uh. When you when you speak of
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: the word of God Jesus Christ, you think of trying
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: to get that word and get it understood to the asses.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Do you find that there's a different level of music
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: tune in to the younger generation? Just it works. The
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: Kurt Franking years ago is still working today for everybody,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: you knows. I just really try to make sure that
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: my goal is authenticity. I think that awest that that
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: when the goal is authenticity, who is supposed to speak
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: to that it will find this place to that. I
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: think that sometimes you can try to start chasing certain demographics,
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: and when you start to do that, I think that
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: you begin to fail and you begin to lose your
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: own authenticity. Books. I think that that one things that
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: millennials or any generation probably responds to more than anything else.
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: It's just authenticity, and whatever that is, you'll be able
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: to develop a very core audience that will be a
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: very loyal audience. And so no matter what's happening sonically
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: with the conversation of music or or anything, when it
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: comes to the arts and pop culture, that's all about
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: what is your message? Who who are you specifically trying
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: to reach and and and when you do that, you
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: can be able to build a brand in the community
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: that will be able to follow you and to be
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: able to trust you with their that money, the time
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: and the money. That's the key, trusting you with their money,
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: because we know it's hard earned. Now you have a
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: unique partnership with Live Nation. Tell us a little bit
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: about this is the Exodus Music and Arts Festival. I'm
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: excited our in Dallas, Texas is that memorial We can
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: memorial we can Yeah, I see, I see barbecue and
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: they can bring it. Man, you know this this is
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: a area. This is a very empic moment and historic
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: moment to me because within the genre of gospel music
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: cars if you want to call an inspiration of music,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: it has never had his own coach ella, It's never
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: had its own essence music festival weekend now it's never
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: possessed that. And so are now for the first time
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: ever in history, we are going to be building our
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: own music festival. That that It's going to be built,
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: uh with a very vertical lens, you know, bringing bringing
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: up Lord to God. You know, I'm a Christian. I
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: ain't ashamed to that. I love my man. I want
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: to be one hunding about him, and I want to
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: be able to create inspirational and aspirational entertainment that people
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: can come and be inspired and and and then maybe
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: even grow at to a two or three day weekend
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: in the future where there's whether seminars, and there's classes
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: and and and there's many different things that can help
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: people be able to build, whether whether it's digital platforms
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: or our scripts and movies are different type of ideas
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: that are aspirational and inspirational in their in their their
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: their the ideology within their content. And so uh the
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: acces music in our So it's something that I'm extreme
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: excited about, men because it will be our own and
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: it will be our first and and and I appreciate
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: all the good people that Live Nation uh for the
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: brand partnership, and it's a plus. It's a plus partnership
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: there with Live Nation. You know that. Now, now here's
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: the thing about it. I would just tell you this,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Only you could pull this off, my friend, because you
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: have the charisma, you have the brand, and you have
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: the relationships. That's what this is all about. The relationship.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: Memorial we can that's perfect Memorial weekend. That's perfect. Who
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, thank you very much and and
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: you know, thank you for this opportunity for me to
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: let people know, for people to be aware and being
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: formed that we are wanting to curate an event that
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: will give them a weekend hope, a weekend of a gospel,
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: a a weekend of a message that that is not
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: something that just we We don't want to just tackle
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: your emotions. We want to be able to speak to
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: your life. Now, let's talk about the whole aspect of
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: the putting together a show like this. Are you the
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: producer or use your name is just attached to it?
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: A Live Nation holding all the production Because I just
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: want people to understand how these events come about. You
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: have a brand, you go to another big brand like
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: Live Nation. Now you have this big event that you
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: said it's a single day now, but the future is
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: for it to be a two to three day event. Yes, yes, yes,
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: um I'm going to be um. I am a I
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: am a joint owner of the intellectual product gratulation. It
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: was an idea that that there has for yes, so
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: it's a it's a fifty partnership with Live Nation be
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: curating the content, the production um, curating the talent, and
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: and and just all the perspectives that come along with
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: with with with something like we just branding out all
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: this brand be and and then I'll be performing as well. Well,
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: I know you're gonna perform. You can't have a Kurt
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: Franklin accident and Kurt Franker don't hit the stage. Now
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: that's that I'll be mad. Now let's talk about other
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: great people who'll be there, because all of them great.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Kurt Franklin, Marvin Sam, Tamila Man, come on this your show, Kurt,
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: you tell everybody let me just shut up, Tamela Man,
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: Marvin Sap, Ti Tribute, u Erica Campbell, and many more
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: to be announced. Man, but these are the ones that
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: are confirmed because the seth It's memo that weekend sold. So,
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: k Kirk, Kurt, this just one show, right, you act
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: like that was Kurt Franklin. You want show by yourself? Okay?
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Marvin sap he won't show by himself, okay. Tamla Man
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: she wants so I'm pretty sure her husband gonna show up.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: David want showbody because that's right up in the Dallas
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: area TI Tribute, one show, Erica Campbell National Radio Show,
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: and one know. So I'm just letting everybody know you
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: got a single nice performance with mega gospel stars. Thank
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: you for one ticket, one ticket, Thank you. People need
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: to understand sometimes you gotta extra sound and stuff. Kurt
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: that Kurt find cling that marvels that time, one show,
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: one ticket, all one night. You're gonna get uplifted. You're
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: gonna get spirited right out that building. I love it, man,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: And congratulations on putting this together, man, And anything I
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: can do for you know that. So you've already done it. Man.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: Let me have an opportunity to be a part of
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: your platforms and and I think that that's how we
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: celebrate sting. To be able to build intellection properties, is
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: to be able to support each other and to give
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: each other moments on the platforms that we even blessed
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: to have, to be able to lift our brothers and
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: sisters up. So I couldn't have gotten a word out there,
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: you know, without you today. So we're gonna get the
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: word out more because they're gonna be social. Eat their banners.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: This is the I'm on the phone with Kurt Franklin's
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: on the phone right now promoting the Excellus Music Festival,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: Music and Arts Festival's May twenty six and Dallas, Texas.
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: On that lineup, of course, Kurt Franklin, Marvin Sap, Tamela
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: man Ti Tripping, Eric Campbell and many more. Because they
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: just made the announcement. Now you know, I'm gonna be mote.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: That's all one show, one ticker, May twenty six, and
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: he said, you can bring your Bobby qu I'm gonna
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: be there, brother, Kurt Man. It's always great man, your owner,
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: you're curating this show, man. This is all this about,
