- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things in the stuffing good it sEH to
- 0:25Speaker 1: movie together for stay. I don't join Jo. You gotta turning, you,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. You haven't got
- 1:44Speaker 1: to turn them out to turn water to the water.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Go come come on your thing. Huh. I shall will
- 2:03Speaker 1: a good manding everybody. You're listening to the voice, come on,
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only. Steve Harvey, I got
- 2:11Speaker 1: a radio show, just trying to give God some back,
- 2:17Speaker 1: just some back of what even gave me, just a portion,
- 2:21Speaker 1: you know. Just I'm just trying, man to to show
- 2:26Speaker 1: some type of gratitude for all his blessings. I'm just
- 2:30Speaker 1: trying to, man, just just get it right sometimes, you
- 2:36Speaker 1: know what I mean. I mean, man, you just can't
- 2:38Speaker 1: do what you want to do and just live wrong
- 2:40Speaker 1: all the time. Man, you got it at one point
- 2:42Speaker 1: in time, Steve, come home. Man, come on, man, you
- 2:45Speaker 1: could do better. I know you can. You know saying,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and you know what I had to do. I had
- 2:50Speaker 1: to stop saying I'm gonna try to do better, and
- 2:53Speaker 1: I just had to say, hey, man, I'm going to
- 2:55Speaker 1: do better. You know, trying it's just to put forth
- 2:59Speaker 1: in that and then if it don't work, well okay.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But if you make up in your mind that I'm
- 3:04Speaker 1: going to do something, then trying isn't enough. It's getting
- 3:08Speaker 1: it done is the only thing that matters. Sin It's
- 3:10Speaker 1: the difference between doing and trying. We're gonna try to
- 3:14Speaker 1: win the game or we're gonna go out here to
- 3:16Speaker 1: win the game. Now, trying to win the game means
- 3:18Speaker 1: that you could lose. But when you got in your
- 3:21Speaker 1: mind made up, most athletes will tell you that they
- 3:24Speaker 1: go out there with the full intent and purpose of
- 3:27Speaker 1: winning and winning. Only see they don't put the second
- 3:31Speaker 1: place finish on the cover Sports Illustrated. Second place don't
- 3:34Speaker 1: get you there. You got to win. And now take
- 3:38Speaker 1: it out of the scope of athletics, but keep it
- 3:40Speaker 1: in that type of type of analogy in life. Man,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you just want to you want to win in life,
- 3:45Speaker 1: don't you. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 3:47Speaker 1: don't you want to be on the cover of Sports
- 3:49Speaker 1: Illustrated the life. Don't you want to be recognized for
- 3:53Speaker 1: your hard work? Don't you want, you know, to be
- 3:56Speaker 1: recognized within the bonus structure down at your job. Don't
- 3:59Speaker 1: you want to have your plaque up on the wall
- 4:02Speaker 1: down at your job? I mean most people do. Some
- 4:04Speaker 1: people could care less. Some people don't care about looking
- 4:07Speaker 1: good or being their best. And that's cool. But I
- 4:09Speaker 1: ain't talking to them though. I'm talking to you. I'm
- 4:11Speaker 1: talking to those of you who want to be the
- 4:14Speaker 1: best you can be. You know, people kill me when
- 4:17Speaker 1: they're getting mad at people here and he Brown knows
- 4:20Speaker 1: and he hall up on an employee of them. All. Man,
- 4:23Speaker 1: the dude doing his job to the best of his ability,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and he getting recognized for it. What they got to do?
- 4:27Speaker 1: It all that you're talking about because you ain't up there.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It's amazing, man, how people describe other people's success. He's
- 4:33Speaker 1: so lucky, lucky? Hey man, don't they kind of get
- 4:37Speaker 1: you a little bit when people call you lucky when
- 4:39Speaker 1: let me tell you what luck really is, y'all. Luck
- 4:42Speaker 1: is when hard work bumps up into opportunity. Some people
- 4:46Speaker 1: call that luck. But hold on, let's let's think about this.
- 4:50Speaker 1: If you wasn't working hard, an opportunity presented itself, what
- 4:54Speaker 1: would you call that? But see, when you've been working hard,
- 4:57Speaker 1: an opportunity presents itself and it bumps up into each other.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Now people want to call that luck, But hold up here,
- 5:03Speaker 1: go to part though to day, ain't paying no attention
- 5:04Speaker 1: to Yeah, that opportunity came by, But if you had
- 5:07Speaker 1: not been working hard and the hard work had not
- 5:10Speaker 1: ran up in the opportunity, what would you have? No, sir,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it's not luck, it's work. It is work because as
- 5:16Speaker 1: a scripture that says, faith without works is dead. But
- 5:21Speaker 1: my mama was a Sunday school teacher. She taught me enough. Though.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Now I know different between right and wrong, just like
- 5:26Speaker 1: you do. You ain't gotta you know. Itcused me when
- 5:30Speaker 1: people write a strawberry letter? Am I wrong for this?
- 5:32Speaker 1: You know? Good? Well, look at let's read your letter?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Are you wrong for this? You know you're wrong? What
- 5:37Speaker 1: you don't need that's to be telling, you know? But
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna do this anyway. Well, see, go ahead, though,
- 5:42Speaker 1: do what you want to do. But you know what, y'all,
- 5:45Speaker 1: here's the best advice I can give you. This is
- 5:47Speaker 1: what I really came to talk about this morning, but
- 5:50Speaker 1: I got sidetrack because I listened get out of your
- 5:54Speaker 1: own way. So many of us are blocking our home blessings.
- 5:58Speaker 1: We just in our own own way. We are in
- 6:02Speaker 1: our own way. And one of the most dangerous ways
- 6:05Speaker 1: you can get in your way is to do it
- 6:08Speaker 1: your way, to get it figured your way, and to
- 6:12Speaker 1: lock in on your way and just the way it's
- 6:14Speaker 1: got to go. Do you know how many people are
- 6:17Speaker 1: blocking a blessing? Do you know how long I blocked
- 6:20Speaker 1: mine with that mindset? Right there? Look, because it's the
- 6:24Speaker 1: way you do it, Do you think that make it
- 6:26Speaker 1: the right way? You think jazz, because you'd have thought
- 6:29Speaker 1: on it long and hard, and that's what you really want.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Do you really think that your way is the right
- 6:34Speaker 1: way or could that be a better way? See? Until
- 6:37Speaker 1: I started listening to God and started paying attention to
- 6:40Speaker 1: his way, man, I was spending my wheels. Man, I
- 6:44Speaker 1: was out here so determined this is how I was
- 6:46Speaker 1: going to do it. But you know I had to
- 6:48Speaker 1: learn how to get out of my own way because
- 6:50Speaker 1: just because I could do it my way didn't mean
- 6:53Speaker 1: it was the right way. I had to get out
- 6:56Speaker 1: of my own way. Just get out your way, man, Now,
- 7:02Speaker 1: what what does that mean? That means, See, set your goals.
- 7:09Speaker 1: That means have your dreams. That I'm saying, set your goals. Man,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I ain't saying don't set goals. Listen to me. Set
- 7:16Speaker 1: your goals. What is it you want to happen? What
- 7:19Speaker 1: is it you like to have? What is it you
- 7:21Speaker 1: like to be? What are you aspire to? Set your
- 7:24Speaker 1: goals and set your dreams. Now, take your goals and
- 7:29Speaker 1: your dreams to God and ask God to show you how. Man,
- 7:35Speaker 1: you can save yourself a lot of pain. Listen to
- 7:38Speaker 1: somebody who did it his way for so long. And
- 7:42Speaker 1: when I finally got out of my way, out of
- 7:45Speaker 1: my own way. When you've heard old people say let
- 7:48Speaker 1: go and let God, you've heard them say that I didn't.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I didn't get it, but I got it. Now let
- 7:55Speaker 1: go and let God. And it's amazing little saying. Though
- 7:58Speaker 1: now you know you may not get it now. It
- 8:00Speaker 1: took me a bunch of years to get it too.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But when I took my goals and my dreams and
- 8:06Speaker 1: my vision to God and I said, God, this is
- 8:09Speaker 1: what I hope for, this is what I aspired to,
- 8:11Speaker 1: this is what I want to be, this is why
- 8:13Speaker 1: I would love to get to. Then I said, help
- 8:16Speaker 1: me show me how. Point me in the right direction.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Let me follow your footsteps, guide me and give me
- 8:24Speaker 1: a spirit of discernment. Show me who wrong? Because I
- 8:27Speaker 1: meet people every day. Ain't up to no good with
- 8:29Speaker 1: me every single day. Oh man, Man, I can't believe
- 8:34Speaker 1: I run up into you. Man, the Lord told me
- 8:36Speaker 1: something's gonna happen to me today. Well, see, I talked
- 8:39Speaker 1: to him every day. He did not mention you to me.
- 8:43Speaker 1: He ain't said nothing to me. He didn't tell me
- 8:45Speaker 1: what's gonna happen in mind. Now, I don't mean it
- 8:46Speaker 1: can't happen because I'm open to it. So really, man,
- 8:51Speaker 1: I'm and and please no, I'm listening it as well
- 8:54Speaker 1: as I've ever listened before. But but get yourself together, though,
- 8:58Speaker 1: see no, your goals and your dreams, and then let
- 9:00Speaker 1: God show you how to do it. He'll do it.
- 9:03Speaker 1: You know. It's so important everybody, that you get focused,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that you aim for something, that you dream of something,
- 9:10Speaker 1: that you aspire to something. But it's the most the
- 9:13Speaker 1: best thing you can do. After you do all that, Man,
- 9:16Speaker 1: get God involved in it. Man, talk to him. I mean,
- 9:19Speaker 1: why would you not what you got to lose. You
- 9:21Speaker 1: ain't got to go down there and make no big
- 9:23Speaker 1: scene and run laps around the church and run up
- 9:26Speaker 1: there and throw yourself on the altar and scream and
- 9:29Speaker 1: flip over and throw money in the air. You ain't
- 9:31Speaker 1: got to do that. This you and God, man, This
- 9:33Speaker 1: you and God. You know you got to serve and
- 9:36Speaker 1: praise him the way you do it. You gotta let
- 9:38Speaker 1: nobody else tell you high's done. It's a personal relationship.
- 9:42Speaker 1: People kill me if you don't do it this way.
- 9:43Speaker 1: If you don't come here to this church and you
- 9:45Speaker 1: don't run around in this circle, and you don't get
- 9:47Speaker 1: flipped in and you don't, Hey, man, you better go
- 9:49Speaker 1: have a relationship with God. See what that's about. You understand?
- 9:52Speaker 1: Nobody throw you off with all that? All right, all right,
- 9:55Speaker 1: y'all talk to him. He loved to hear from you. Today.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening morning ladies and gentlemen. Good morning, boys and girls. Man,
- 10:05Speaker 1: have your attention please today's show. It's dedicated to all
- 10:11Speaker 1: Paltry employee churches, KFC, Popeye, al Poo, Local and Tropical
- 10:27Speaker 1: Delight that's Florida. Things like oh and wing Stop. Even
- 10:33Speaker 1: though they don't do four chicken parts. You are in
- 10:37Speaker 1: the paltry distribution. Big congratulations to all of you. Today
- 10:42Speaker 1: we're dedicating today's show to all poultry employees of all kinds.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you for the joy that you've given up.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Thank you for the motivation, thank you for the way
- 10:55Speaker 1: I feel sometime when I'm driving down the street and
- 10:57Speaker 1: I see that sign put in me, to me, this
- 11:01Speaker 1: is for the chicken lover in you. Yeah, this is
- 11:07Speaker 1: for the wing. This is for the wing and you, dude, dude,
- 11:15Speaker 1: this is for the wing. This is for the wing,
- 11:18Speaker 1: and you will make a song out of it, because
- 11:23Speaker 1: that's that's my soul. Boy. Yeah, we are authentic soul.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Bro song right there, we go right in it. Name it,
- 11:30Speaker 1: sing it, we deeply name first and sing it. Don't
- 11:35Speaker 1: committed love soul. You would never let it die. Have
- 11:40Speaker 1: no reason to buy a new Seaton name it sang it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's deep right there. No, no, no, no reason to
- 11:46Speaker 1: buy a new hell playing albums. Dog down loaded nothing.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Now they got turntables, five little singing in the middle
- 12:00Speaker 1: with the little thing with the look. Man, I just
- 12:04Speaker 1: downloaded common Commodores and followed you, Yeah, what's your favorite commodores? Jam?
- 12:12Speaker 1: It may sound funny, man, I just can't man. The pain.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'm leaving you to my room, seems to me. Girl.
- 12:29Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. I can't and every damn
- 12:34Speaker 1: you see your big stone that I buy room? Yeah? Yeah, yeah?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Do you know about WAMIs my favorite commodore song? No One?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Maybe just the food dream of Yeah, but I don't care, yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: because I know my happiness is waiting for me somewhere.
- 13:14Speaker 1: M I'm searching for that seal Lion Cris runs that
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'll never see. Well, I wish the way they called
- 13:34Speaker 1: coming up something funny? They who coming up? Don't you're
- 13:43Speaker 1: listening show? All right? It is time now to start
- 13:47Speaker 1: your morning off with the nephew and run that break back.
- 13:50Speaker 1: What you got for us? Nef but cheeks? What crazy?
- 13:55Speaker 1: That's the name of the prank butt Cheeks. Okay, let's
- 13:58Speaker 1: do it. Hello, I'm trying to reach Carmen. Miss miss
- 14:02Speaker 1: Carmen Uh. This is a natuh my master's call. I'm
- 14:08Speaker 1: the principal at the high school where your daughter goes.
- 14:10Speaker 1: This is mister Porter. Porter. How are you doing today?
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm fine? Is everything good? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, every
- 14:16Speaker 1: every everything is everything is fine? Now your daughter is
- 14:19Speaker 1: tenth grade Crystal, right, correct, Okay, okay, I want to
- 14:24Speaker 1: make sure I'm you know, we got so many kids
- 14:25Speaker 1: with the same names. I wanted to make sure I
- 14:27Speaker 1: had the right person. Um, so here's the issue. You
- 14:30Speaker 1: say your name was Nate. Yeah, okay, Nate. What were
- 14:34Speaker 1: the problem we're having here at the school is I
- 14:36Speaker 1: don't know if you are aware of it, but when
- 14:38Speaker 1: your your wife drops Crystal off at school, we've got
- 14:42Speaker 1: the parents as well as some of the teachers. They're
- 14:46Speaker 1: they're complaining about what she's uh, what she's wearing. What
- 14:50Speaker 1: your wife is wearing? Yeah, what she's wearing when she
- 14:53Speaker 1: drops the kids off. Evidently her clothes are very skimpy
- 14:57Speaker 1: and her butt checks her but cheeks her out. You know,
- 15:00Speaker 1: I don't know if she's I haven't actually seen her,
- 15:04Speaker 1: but I've been getting these reports from uh, we've been
- 15:07Speaker 1: getting that's a little strange to me. I'm typically at work. Uh,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what she's wearing. I'm I'm
- 15:13Speaker 1: gonna have to talk to her later on today. Okay, Well,
- 15:17Speaker 1: what I was gonna suggest is, uh, you know, I
- 15:21Speaker 1: actually I thought I was calling her phone. I didn't
- 15:24Speaker 1: know I was. I was gonna get you, but what
- 15:26Speaker 1: I wanted to do is get her to come up
- 15:29Speaker 1: here so I can see what she wearing. You know.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, I think I got this handle.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Due I can take care of it. Well well, well,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be better for both of us,
- 15:39Speaker 1: like if I was able to see her uh in
- 15:42Speaker 1: the and let her look look player, look, look I
- 15:45Speaker 1: got it, my daughter. This is not even really concerning
- 15:49Speaker 1: my daughter. This is uh you know, this is this
- 15:52Speaker 1: is above that. Take radelet let me handling. So um.
- 15:55Speaker 1: You know, you know my daughter going to Principal's office
- 15:58Speaker 1: is one thing. I'll be on top of that, but
- 15:59Speaker 1: I'm definitely on top of this. So so, like I said,
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think I got this handle right now. What now,
- 16:04Speaker 1: your wife, Carmen, is she there? Uh? Yeah, okay, I mean,
- 16:10Speaker 1: is there anyway I can talk to her? No? Like
- 16:12Speaker 1: I told you, I think I think I got this one.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I could take care of this. Um. And you know,
- 16:19Speaker 1: my thing is, I've already told you that three times.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I don't know we're really going with this. You know,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna talk to her and get the
- 16:26Speaker 1: situation situation rectified soon as I can. Okay, but we
- 16:30Speaker 1: don't don't. You don't need to You don't need to
- 16:32Speaker 1: see her, you know, talk to her or another being
- 16:34Speaker 1: the principle here at the school, sir. Uh Like I said, um,
- 16:39Speaker 1: you know, I'm just trying to, you know, handle the
- 16:41Speaker 1: school and orderly fashion and make sure that all things
- 16:44Speaker 1: are taking care of around here and we have no
- 16:46Speaker 1: issues and no problems. So what I whatever, play, you're
- 16:49Speaker 1: not talking to my daughter, You're talking to me. I'm
- 16:50Speaker 1: I'm I'm I'm I'm a husband, I'm a father. I'm
- 16:53Speaker 1: telling me when I tell you I gotta handle, I
- 16:55Speaker 1: got a handle. I understand it. If I have to
- 16:58Speaker 1: handle my school though, you understand that I have to
- 17:01Speaker 1: have much school, I will drop my door off myself. Okay,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I understand that. What No, I mean, do I need
- 17:06Speaker 1: to come up there and talk to you? No? I
- 17:08Speaker 1: need your wife to come talk to me. I need
- 17:10Speaker 1: to see what she'd be wearing. I don't need to
- 17:11Speaker 1: talk to my wife. Little player. Do you have a wife, Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 1: I have a wife. Became of my office. But what
- 17:17Speaker 1: what what do you? What do you? What are you?
- 17:18Speaker 1: What are you talking about? No? What are you talking
- 17:20Speaker 1: about that? My wife needs to come and and and
- 17:22Speaker 1: so you can inspect her outfit. I'm not playing that
- 17:25Speaker 1: game player, I'm not We're not doing that. Okay, I
- 17:27Speaker 1: need to see what your wife be wearing when she's
- 17:29Speaker 1: dropping these keys yourself phone, I send your picture. Hey man,
- 17:33Speaker 1: a man, I think we must have gone down the
- 17:35Speaker 1: wrong street. But yeah, no, we do definitely down the
- 17:38Speaker 1: wrong boulevard on this one. Players. Okay, let me let
- 17:40Speaker 1: me just make it very clear to you, my wife
- 17:43Speaker 1: you're seeing in the office and all that. Maybe we
- 17:45Speaker 1: can come up to you to morrow. It's gonna be
- 17:47Speaker 1: me and her. No, he's not coming up to the
- 17:49Speaker 1: principal's office. You don't need to do it. But we
- 17:50Speaker 1: don't have a problem with you. We just need her.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I just need to see you. You're gonna have a
- 17:56Speaker 1: problem with me. We keep going down this role right now, okay. So,
- 17:59Speaker 1: so it's okay for her to have her butt cheeks
- 18:02Speaker 1: out when she dropped the kids off, But as soon
- 18:04Speaker 1: as I want to have her come out of office
- 18:05Speaker 1: for a meeting about this situation right now, right now,
- 18:08Speaker 1: you he said, you claiming her but cheass out like
- 18:12Speaker 1: seass out right now? You out of pockets? Okay, No,
- 18:15Speaker 1: it was out of pocket. When she pulled up and
- 18:17Speaker 1: got out the car and her butt was out of pocket.
- 18:19Speaker 1: That's when it was out of pocket. So so what
- 18:21Speaker 1: you can't do, Nate, be mad at me by what
- 18:23Speaker 1: your wife then put on and wall up into the school. Look, man,
- 18:27Speaker 1: like I said, I'm I'm gonna do what I gotta
- 18:29Speaker 1: do on this on this end, your end is to
- 18:31Speaker 1: handle what's going on in your school. Wellever Denny, You're
- 18:34Speaker 1: not handling that end over there. So that's why I'm
- 18:37Speaker 1: stepping up as the principal of the school saying I
- 18:39Speaker 1: need to have a meeting, a private meeting with your
- 18:41Speaker 1: wife so when her and I can talk about what
- 18:44Speaker 1: she's wearing. Look, man, I haven't told you several times
- 18:48Speaker 1: her coming up there on her own, it's not gonna happen.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So this is where we at right now. You know
- 18:52Speaker 1: what you're gonna happen. So what So what you're saying,
- 18:56Speaker 1: you what's gonna happen tomorrow? I'm gonna come up there
- 18:59Speaker 1: drop my daughter to come see you. So you're coming

- 23:09Speaker 1: He got very mad and put me out, but my
- 23:12Speaker 1: wife stayed. I'm at my brother's house now, and I'm

- 24:10Speaker 1: you thought that was fitting the fly man, you got
- 24:13Speaker 1: real comfortable. I don't see how you thought that y'all

- 24:42Speaker 1: Carolina says, I'm a forty year old single female and
- 24:47Speaker 1: I've been dating online for a while, but I finally
- 24:50Speaker 1: met a guy that I clicked with and we went
- 24:52Speaker 1: on a few dates. I live in a small town,
- 24:54Speaker 1: so luck would have it. I ran into the guy
- 24:56Speaker 1: at home Goods. I gave him a quick hug, and
- 24:59Speaker 1: his body language was off. A woman was with him
- 25:03Speaker 1: and I didn't see her. He told her I was
- 25:06Speaker 1: a new coworker, and I just went with it. I
- 25:09Speaker 1: researched to social media and found out he's married. I
- 25:13Speaker 1: think she should know about me? Should I slide into her? Dms, Huh,
- 25:19Speaker 1: you think she should know about you? Why? I think
- 25:24Speaker 1: you found out all the information I think you need
- 25:26Speaker 1: to know about her? Now? Y'all only went on one date?
- 25:30Speaker 1: Is that what she's saying? Sherley, Huh, Well, she's been
- 25:32Speaker 1: dating online, but yeah, they went on a few dates. Actually, okay,
- 25:38Speaker 1: they went on a few dates. Now I think she
- 25:41Speaker 1: should know about you. No, I think you should know
- 25:43Speaker 1: about her and go on about your business. See, I
- 25:48Speaker 1: don't know why people think that it's your job to report.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Don't you know you ain't got to do that. Well,
- 25:55Speaker 1: you know, they're hurt so that they want to lash out.
- 25:59Speaker 1: That's what that is. Hurt people, hurt people. Yeah, she

- 26:08Speaker 1: but but sister, when she finds out about you, guess
- 26:12Speaker 1: what it changes nothing. You have already decided you're not
- 26:18Speaker 1: gonna see him no more. You've already decided he's a dog, right,
- 26:23Speaker 1: So not guess what you telling her that you're not
- 26:27Speaker 1: gonna see him anymore? And he's still a dog. Right.

- 26:50Speaker 1: want to Yeah, she doesn't want to break up with
- 26:53Speaker 1: this guy. I mean, I know he's married, but she
- 26:55Speaker 1: doesn't want to break up with them. I don't believe
- 26:58Speaker 1: she does. And I believe she also wants to hurt him,
- 27:02Speaker 1: you know, and get revenge. Okay, Well, let me explain
- 27:06Speaker 1: something to you. She's not once you seek the revenge,

- 32:36Speaker 1: all right, nephew, you're the newest to marry in the group.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Can you be friends with an X if we're still

- 32:48Speaker 1: only to you? I think I mean we should doing it?
- 32:51Speaker 1: Then you we might well still be friends. If we're

- 33:45Speaker 1: where disowning him is just the best way to handle it,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you know. I look, when he says something so damn stupid,
- 33:51Speaker 1: Why do I have to stop him? I'll do nothing
- 33:54Speaker 1: but be stopping him all damn day. Though. Okay, but
- 33:57Speaker 1: you say some some of it, you gotta go. I
- 34:00Speaker 1: say stuff that makes sense, it's just you don't want
- 34:03Speaker 1: to digest it. Well, the thing that's really got me
- 34:08Speaker 1: is that, out of all of you guys, Jay is
- 34:11Speaker 1: the only one that can remain friends with his ax

- 44:08Speaker 1: iw many years ago, y'allre passed. It was about five
- 44:11Speaker 1: years ago. Okay, listen, I'm over here at the funeral home. U.
- 44:17Speaker 1: My sister just passed away, and U they gave me
- 44:21Speaker 1: your phone number? Did you guys? We're going through a
- 44:24Speaker 1: little bit of a situation here, did you guys? Aren't
- 44:27Speaker 1: have you know? Your aunt was a heavy set woman?
- 44:29Speaker 1: Is that right? Okay? Now they had to did they
- 44:33Speaker 1: have to put her in a in a? Did they
- 44:35Speaker 1: have a bill of a special casket for her? Yeah? Okay,
- 44:39Speaker 1: that's what we're kind of going through with my sister.
- 44:42Speaker 1: We ordered a special casket for for for my sister,
- 44:47Speaker 1: and I'm assuming this is the same thing that you
- 44:50Speaker 1: guys went through. I called several of her, her children,
- 44:53Speaker 1: but I wasn't able to get in touch with anybody.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But the funeral home actually had your name on file
- 44:58Speaker 1: as well, so they gave me your number where I
- 45:00Speaker 1: will be able to talk to you. Is that is that? Okay? Yeah,
- 45:04Speaker 1: that's okay. You can speak to me. But you know,
- 45:07Speaker 1: let's seeks to leave a problem. Well, listen, the funeral
- 45:11Speaker 1: is actually in two days and we ordered one of
- 45:15Speaker 1: those special caskets, but it doesn't look like it's gonna
- 45:18Speaker 1: be in for another week, so you know, it's almost
- 45:22Speaker 1: like we're gonna we're gonna we're not gonna have a
- 45:23Speaker 1: casket for her um, you know, for the funeral, and
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know, like I said, the funeral home told us
- 45:30Speaker 1: about you know that you guys, who are the last
- 45:32Speaker 1: ones that ordered a casket of that size? And you know,
- 45:36Speaker 1: me and the rest of the family has been you know,
- 45:38Speaker 1: we've been trying to figure out what to do and
- 45:40Speaker 1: what to do. Do you think it's any way possible
- 45:44Speaker 1: we can borrow the casket that your Ain't is in,
- 45:49Speaker 1: and then when the casket comes in that we ordered,
- 45:52Speaker 1: we can put her in that casket and put her
- 45:55Speaker 1: back down to rest like she's always been. Do you
- 45:58Speaker 1: think that's excuse me? Hello? Hello, you think you repeat yourself?
- 46:05Speaker 1: What exactly are you asking me? Well, what I'm saying is,
- 46:08Speaker 1: do you think we can bar your ain't casket because
- 46:12Speaker 1: you know, the fuel is in two days and the
- 46:14Speaker 1: casket is not gonna be in in order for us
- 46:17Speaker 1: to be able to bury her in a in a
- 46:19Speaker 1: casket for you know, to accommodate her size. That's what
- 46:22Speaker 1: I'm asking. What kind of that you're talking about? First
- 46:26Speaker 1: of all, who is this? Okay, No, my name is Larry,
- 46:30Speaker 1: Like I said, my name is Larry I got you.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I got you guys. Like I said, I tried to
- 46:33Speaker 1: call some of her kids, but nobody ever picked up
- 46:36Speaker 1: when I called. Yet her niece's number a file too.
- 46:41Speaker 1: You you are her niece, Vicky, right, Yes, I am. Okay,
- 46:46Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. Do you think that maybe you
- 46:48Speaker 1: can talk to the children and see if we can
- 46:50Speaker 1: maybe used that particular casket? Okay, wait a minute, what
- 46:55Speaker 1: the talking about this? The first of all, who who
- 46:58Speaker 1: is this? You? You gotta be losing your mind if
- 47:01Speaker 1: you think I'm gonna let you dig up my any
- 47:04Speaker 1: so just to bury your snufts. But I understand where
- 47:07Speaker 1: you're coming from. But what I'm trying to say is
- 47:09Speaker 1: that we don't have a casket big enough and they were.
- 47:11Speaker 1: They let us know that you guys were the last
- 47:14Speaker 1: ones that had a casket that you know I'm gonna
- 47:17Speaker 1: do with us? That's you don't true stuff figuring out
- 47:20Speaker 1: have you show no? No? Well, okay, first of all,
- 47:24Speaker 1: what I'm trying to do is this the family been
- 47:26Speaker 1: grieving pretty hard, and I just wanted to make sure
- 47:29Speaker 1: that the funeral will be right, and it ain't gonna
- 47:31Speaker 1: be right, and we don't have that We don't think
- 47:33Speaker 1: my family gonna feel digging any up. I'll show they
- 47:37Speaker 1: don't call me with this. Who is the funeral home
- 47:41Speaker 1: that gave you my number to ask me to use
- 47:45Speaker 1: the casket so you can bury your sister. Who is
- 47:47Speaker 1: the name of that person? I can't remember, but it
- 47:49Speaker 1: was it was It was a guy. The funeral director
- 47:52Speaker 1: let me know that you guys had went through a
- 47:54Speaker 1: situation where you had to bury your your your your art.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Like I said, I tried to call what's your name again?
- 48:01Speaker 1: My name is Larry, Okay, Larry. This is this is
- 48:03Speaker 1: a stupid I don't know what give you my phone
- 48:06Speaker 1: number to call me asking you just dun't. Can't you
- 48:09Speaker 1: believe her? They call here asking me so can dig
- 48:13Speaker 1: up so they can bury the faster Here's don't have
- 48:18Speaker 1: a casket? Hello, No, no, whatstand that's your fault? No,
- 48:22Speaker 1: I understand, it's not your fault. What I'm trying to
- 48:24Speaker 1: say is what y'all show some sympathy and some love
- 48:27Speaker 1: for me and my family going through because we don't
- 48:30Speaker 1: have a casket. Like I say, my tuster my sister
- 48:33Speaker 1: was was you know? Was it? If the heavens was
- 48:34Speaker 1: a hell time? You know, my condoleses go out to
- 48:38Speaker 1: you and your family. You know I'm trying to be
- 48:40Speaker 1: as reserved as I can with this whole situation. But
- 48:44Speaker 1: do you understand what kind of stupid you're asking me
- 48:47Speaker 1: right now to actually dig up my unt whose armed,
- 48:50Speaker 1: who's been and what out for fun years? To bury
- 48:54Speaker 1: your sister? Because let me let me ask you this,
- 48:59Speaker 1: if like this with you that you ain't ain't gonna know,
- 49:03Speaker 1: she ain't gonna know with you, for you to say
- 49:07Speaker 1: to me what don't know? But you're stupid? What you're
- 49:12Speaker 1: talking on you smoking crack? What don't know? I don't know? More?
- 49:16Speaker 1: First of all, you know what I First of all,
- 49:19Speaker 1: I appreciate you trying to work with me, but I
- 49:21Speaker 1: want to say this is you. You don't even have
- 49:23Speaker 1: the authority to make that decision if you give me
- 49:25Speaker 1: one of the numbers to one of your cousins. Because
- 49:29Speaker 1: I was really trying to be nice and be calm.
- 49:32Speaker 1: But guess what, we're not doing this stupid. I'm trying
- 49:35Speaker 1: to be nice to you and tell and trying to
- 49:37Speaker 1: help you out, but no, you want me to get
- 49:38Speaker 1: ignorant and ask stupid with you. I was trying to
- 49:41Speaker 1: be nice and sympathetic. But we're not doing it. I'm
- 49:44Speaker 1: not giving you the number. I got the authority to
- 49:47Speaker 1: tell you right now. No, we're not digging up, so
- 49:50Speaker 1: you can bury yourselufs to fair. Okay, so so so
- 49:54Speaker 1: so so, that's just it. I can't talk to now,
- 49:57Speaker 1: that's it. No, you ain't talking to know, but you're
- 49:59Speaker 1: talking to me. Okay, I got I got, I got
- 50:01Speaker 1: something else I need to tell you though, I need.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I need to tell you something else or you listen
- 50:05Speaker 1: tell me. I want to tell you this. This is
- 50:08Speaker 1: nephew Tommy from the Steve Harby Morning Show. Vicky yr

- 51:10Speaker 1: don't understand that that woman already has been laid the rest,
- 51:13Speaker 1: so it's not like we're messing up her funeral. Yeah,
- 51:17Speaker 1: where's the love? O? Man? Somebody got it bad? What
- 51:24Speaker 1: you're listening to? Somebody go whip you really bad. You're
- 51:28Speaker 1: talking about digging on black people. See that's that line
- 51:32Speaker 1: step Yeah. See you did that with that other brother
- 51:35Speaker 1: one time, when you something about digging up. He's a man.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I just got to people to stop crying. Last I'm

- 52:25Speaker 1: up and hold on tight. We got it for you here.
- 52:27Speaker 1: It is rob every letter subject. I'm doing wifey things
- 52:31Speaker 1: without a ring. Dear Stephen Shirley, My boyfriend and I
- 52:34Speaker 1: have been dating for three years and we moved in
- 52:37Speaker 1: together with a plan to get married and start a family.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I'm thirty years old and he is twenty five. After
- 52:43Speaker 1: a year and a half of living together, he bought
- 52:46Speaker 1: me an engagement ring, and I've found out because he
- 52:48Speaker 1: was dropping hints about it. Then one day in November,
- 52:52Speaker 1: he admitted to me that he had bought the ring,
- 52:54Speaker 1: but he's not as happy in this relationship as he
- 52:57Speaker 1: should be. He told me that he's having doubts about
- 53:00Speaker 1: marrying me. I asked him what made him feel that way.
- 53:04Speaker 1: He told me that a minor things, but I needed
- 53:07Speaker 1: to work on them before we got engaged. He told
- 53:10Speaker 1: me that he would like for his dinner to be
- 53:12Speaker 1: ready when he gets home on the days that I'm
- 53:14Speaker 1: off work. He says he does not want me to
- 53:17Speaker 1: wait until he gets home to ask what he would
- 53:20Speaker 1: like to eat. He also said that I don't send
- 53:23Speaker 1: him as many nudes as I used to. I told
- 53:26Speaker 1: him I could work on the cooking thing, but I
- 53:29Speaker 1: stopped sending new picks to him because I had gained
- 53:31Speaker 1: a few pounds and wasn't feeling very sexy most days.
- 53:35Speaker 1: He said, other than that everything was fine with us.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I couldn't help but think there was something more that
- 53:40Speaker 1: is bothering him. He has made a few other suggestions
- 53:43Speaker 1: to me about things I should do to make him
- 53:46Speaker 1: feel like the man of the house, and each time
- 53:48Speaker 1: he says they will make me a better wife. While
- 53:51Speaker 1: I'm not playing the role of wife without a ring
- 53:54Speaker 1: on my finger, and he does not understand that I've
- 53:57Speaker 1: been walking on eggshells to keep him happy because I
- 54:00Speaker 1: want my ring and I want to marry him. As
- 54:04Speaker 1: time goes by, I'm starting to have a change of heart.
- 54:07Speaker 1: I'm doing wifey things without a ring. I feel like
- 54:10Speaker 1: he's up to something and he's playing games because he's
- 54:13Speaker 1: not ready to commit. Should I give him an ultimatum
- 54:15Speaker 1: or should I be patient and let things progress? Well,
- 54:19Speaker 1: I mean, it depends on, really, really what you want
- 54:21Speaker 1: you say you want your ring and you do want
- 54:23Speaker 1: to marry him, So I say, do what you feel,
- 54:26Speaker 1: and you feel something. You say he's having doubts and
- 54:30Speaker 1: you think he's playing games and he's not ready to commit.
- 54:32Speaker 1: That could be what it is. I mean, he could be,
- 54:35Speaker 1: you know, getting cold feet, or deciding since you guys
- 54:37Speaker 1: are living together, that he doesn't have to marry you.
- 54:41Speaker 1: He can get you to do all these things without
- 54:44Speaker 1: you know, the benefit of marriage or whatever. I mean.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I agree with you. You shouldn't be doing wifey things
- 54:48Speaker 1: without the benefits. So how about this, Why don't you stop?
- 54:51Speaker 1: Why don't you stop doing those things? That means a
- 54:56Speaker 1: lot of things. It could mean moving out, It could mean,
- 54:58Speaker 1: you know, you guys separate for a while. It could
- 55:00Speaker 1: mean putting him out. But if you truly want to
- 55:04Speaker 1: marry him and you want your ring, do you want
- 55:07Speaker 1: just want the ring and the marriage or do you
- 55:10Speaker 1: I mean the wedding or do you really know what
- 55:12Speaker 1: it takes to be a you know, to be married
- 55:14Speaker 1: to him? Him telling you wait a minute, is this
- 55:18Speaker 1: the nineteen fifties? I want my dinner ready when I
- 55:21Speaker 1: get home, girl, Please, I want my dinner. Who are
- 55:27Speaker 1: you talking to Yeah, you know, uh anyway, you know
- 55:37Speaker 1: you're you're thirty, he's twenty five. It sounds like, um,
- 55:41Speaker 1: you know, he's a little more old school and older
- 55:44Speaker 1: than his years allowed than his twenty five years. So
- 55:49Speaker 1: I just say this, if you really, if that's really
- 55:52Speaker 1: what you want from this man, sounds like he's starting
- 55:54Speaker 1: to take this whole living together arrangement for granted. So
- 55:58Speaker 1: you're gonna have to make a move. You're gonna have
- 56:00Speaker 1: to make a move if that means giving him him
- 56:02Speaker 1: an ultimatum, look, marry me or I'm out or getting
- 56:05Speaker 1: you know, let's get engaged. You probably never should have
- 56:08Speaker 1: moved in with him without becoming engaged and having a
- 56:11Speaker 1: date and all of that. So now you got a
- 56:14Speaker 1: backtrack and do that to make to let him know
- 56:17Speaker 1: that you're serious about what you want, and then after
- 56:20Speaker 1: that you'll see how it goes. But yeah, you're probably
- 56:23Speaker 1: gonna have to make a major move like leave to
- 56:25Speaker 1: get what you want. Steve, you know what, I feel
- 56:30Speaker 1: sorry for this lady because this is so atypical. I
- 56:33Speaker 1: know exactly what this is. So let me put you
- 56:36Speaker 1: on game. Glad you called uncle Steve. I know exactly
- 56:39Speaker 1: what's happening your boyfriend y'all been dating for three years,
- 56:42Speaker 1: moved in together with the plan and getting marriage to
- 56:44Speaker 1: the I'm thirty twenty five. Pumped a brakes. That's part
- 56:48Speaker 1: of the problem right there. You're a little bit older.
- 56:51Speaker 1: You have a biological clock ticking. A man has no
- 56:54Speaker 1: biological clock. He has a financial clock, and at twenty five,
- 56:58Speaker 1: neither one of those have gone off yet. This is truth.
- 57:03Speaker 1: His financial clock hasn't gone off yet, and he doesn't
- 57:06Speaker 1: have a biological clock. Your biological clock is going crazy.
- 57:12Speaker 1: So now you've moved in a man, moving in with
- 57:15Speaker 1: a man that has different ideals than you do. You've
- 57:18Speaker 1: heard that he was gonna he bought you an engagement ring.
- 57:21Speaker 1: You find out because he was dropping hits. One day
- 57:23Speaker 1: in November, he admitted to me that he had bought
- 57:25Speaker 1: the ring, but he wasn't happy with the relationship as
- 57:27Speaker 1: he should be. He told me that he's having doubts
- 57:30Speaker 1: about married me. That Shirley has absolutely correct. It's called
- 57:34Speaker 1: cold feat. I asked him what made him feel that way.
- 57:37Speaker 1: He told me that there were minor things, but I
- 57:39Speaker 1: needed to work on them before we got engaged. He
- 57:43Speaker 1: told me that he would like for his dinner to
- 57:45Speaker 1: be ready when he gets home on days that I'm
- 57:48Speaker 1: off from work. He says, he doesn't want me to
- 57:50Speaker 1: wait till he gets home to ask him what he
- 57:52Speaker 1: would like to eat. Let me show you exactly how
- 57:55Speaker 1: minor that is. Here's a guy that expects you to
- 57:59Speaker 1: have dinner ready when he gets home on the days
- 58:02Speaker 1: that you're off work, which means you have a job. Also,
- 58:07Speaker 1: he doesn't want to wait until he gets home to
- 58:10Speaker 1: ask him what he would like to eat. So he
- 58:12Speaker 1: thinks he proposed to walk in the house at twenty five,
- 58:15Speaker 1: slide his ass up on the table and jest STARTI, well,
- 58:18Speaker 1: what are you supposed to do? Guess what he wants?
- 58:22Speaker 1: So you did a very decent thing to ask him
- 58:24Speaker 1: what he wants. He also said that you don't send
- 58:27Speaker 1: as many nudes as I want as you two used to.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I could work on the cooking, but I'll stopped sending
- 58:32Speaker 1: new picture to him because I gained weight. No, you
- 58:34Speaker 1: stop sending new picture to him because y'all lay together. Heir,
- 58:39Speaker 1: he every night he seen him the hair. You need
- 58:42Speaker 1: a picture off? This is stupid. Hey, I'll be back.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I got the rest of him. Okay, hang right there, Steve.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Part two of your responses coming up at twenty three
- 58:51Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. Subjects of today's Strawberry Letter, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 1: doing wifey things without a ring. We'll be back right
- 58:58Speaker 1: after this. You're listening show, all right, Steve, Come on,
- 59:03Speaker 1: let's recap today's Strawberry Letters. Subject I'm doing wifey things
- 59:07Speaker 1: without a ring. Oh, this is such an easy letter
- 59:12Speaker 1: for me, because boy, lady, I feel for you. Thirty
- 59:14Speaker 1: years old, he twenty five bought the engagement ring. Then
- 59:18Speaker 1: he admitted that he had bought the ring, but he
- 59:20Speaker 1: wasn't happy in the relationship. He was having doubt. Shirley,
- 59:23Speaker 1: nailed on the head as called cold feet, asked him
- 59:26Speaker 1: what made him feel that way. He told me some
- 59:28Speaker 1: minor things I needed to work on before we got engaged.
- 59:32Speaker 1: So he told us he wants his dinner to be
- 59:35Speaker 1: ready when he get home on days that I'm off work,
- 59:38Speaker 1: and like I said earlier, which means that she works too.
- 59:41Speaker 1: But he says he don't want to wait till he
- 59:43Speaker 1: getting home for you to ask him what he want
- 59:45Speaker 1: to eat? Well, what is she supposed to do? Dog?
- 59:47Speaker 1: Guess what you want? That's the cool thing to do.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Then he said, you don't send as many new pictures
- 59:54Speaker 1: as I used to. I told him I could work
- 59:56Speaker 1: on the cooking, but I stopped sending the new picture
- 59:58Speaker 1: to him because I gained a few pounds of one
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: feeling sexy most of the days. Hold on, lady, you
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: live with him. It's why you're not sending as many nudes.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: He dare every night. Take your own. Damn, you're tripping
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: with me. Fon, doc See, lady, he has turned this
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: thing around on you. And what he's done is the
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: reason he doesn't understand what you're saying to him is
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: because you're not helping him understand. You so desperately want
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: this ring that you've allowed this man to turn this
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: into all one sided request. Everything is what he won't
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: you to do. What he won't pitchers, he won't cook it,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: he won't fool he said. Other than that, everything was fine.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I couldn't think, But that was he said that I
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: couldn't think, But that was something more than that bothered him.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: He made a few others, suggesting me about things I
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: could do to make him feel more like the man
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: at the house. Wait a minute, Wait a minute. First
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: of all. The dude is not understanding this because you're
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: not helping him understand all this is is a bunch
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: of one sided requests. You can't be totally one completely
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: or during this boy. It's something wrong with him, but
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: you ain't making no request of him. Your desperation for
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: this ring is allowing you to let this man make
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: all what's wrong with you ain't nothing wrong with him.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: He perfect. So you are trying to be engaged to Christ.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: That's the only thing I can think of, because that's
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: the only perfect person out there ever lived on this earth,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: and he's not here yet. So now why you got
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: this boy propped up like he all of that? Wouldn't
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: think now? Now you walk around on eggshells to keep
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: him happy? What keep him happy? Here's the line in there.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: You got to do some things to make him feel
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: like the man at the house. That's not your job.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: If he is the only man in the house and
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: he don't feel like the man of the house, then
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: what inadequacy does he have? If he don't feel like
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: the man at the house. It's because you must be
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: doing a lot of stuff that he no he should
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: be doing. But he got all these requests heaped on you, lady.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: As time goes by, I'm starting to have a change
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: of heart, and you should. I'm doing wifey things without
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: a ring. I feel like he's up to something and
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: he's playing games because he's not ready to commit. He
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: ain't ready to commit. He's not going to commit. And
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: he got you thinking that the reason he's not gonna
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: commit because it's all your fault. He the one don't
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: feel like the man at the house. What they got
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: to do with you? So here we go. Start cooking
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: what he wants him, Cyril beca, have a bowl of
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: lucky charms. Wain't on his ass when he comes in
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: the house. I tell you what, cook old ass food
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: for it, real old ass food. Make him feel like,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: you know, a man's man. Have some chicken feet and
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: just and just crock pot with none but beans and
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: rice in it, corne bread, old ass meals coming to
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: the house, having some fried spam sitting there with some
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: tripe and some scrambled eggs. Cooking some real old ass
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: grown man near like it's coming there with some hot water,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: corn bread and and just some red eye graving, no
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: damn meat. Let's make a pot of gravy, Give him
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: a straw tell him that what we're eating today, tell
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: him gravy, old country ass meal, Come home, ain't number
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: damn just a bowl of slough a, yeah, just come in.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: There ain't nothing but some greens. Jess Greene, all that
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: on smoked turkey. Damn that ham hawk, Yeah Greene with
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: a big ass hawk in it, bowler limeal beans, my
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: feet in his ass like an old ass, mats blood pressure, lady,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: that's all. There's nothing wrong with you. It's something wrong
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: with him. Yeah, it's not you. And the second thought
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: you're starting to half is because you're starting to realize
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: you're walking on eggshells in your own house. That little
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: boy ready to get married, and you're gonna marry somebody
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: that think he ain't a man because he's messed up
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: about your age anyway, because his mama has said a
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: couple of things about it. Gonna send him on pack
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: a lunch next time you go, got buy him a
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: lunch box with superhero. All right, come home, have a
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: happy meal waiting on his ass. But your comments today
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Strawberry letter and Steve Harvey f m on Instagram and Facebook,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: And don't forget to check out the Strawberry Letter on
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: the podcast on demand. You're listening to show. All right, guys,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: it is time for ask Steve. We have a question. Yeah,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: now listen to this. Yeah a a one question one?
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah. This from well, this is from a
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: twenty two year old. This is from a millennial. So
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: um and his name is also Steve, your namesake, he says, Hi,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: mister Harvey, I work full time and I'm currently in
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: school to become a psychiatric mental health nurse. My faith
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: is strong and I know that with God, anything is possible.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: So my question to you is, on your path to
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: become an entertainer, did you ever doubt yourself, think your
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: dream was too big, or think about giving up? And
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: how did you strengthen your connection to God and never
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: lose hope that your prayers and hard work would pay off.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: That's a great question, well from no matter who you are,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: we're human, and you're gonna have moments of doubt because
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: it's so difficult to make a success of yourself. So
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: there's gonna be times, man, what you're gonna be faced
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: with the man that I make the right move Man,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: it's this working man. Ever is it gonna change. Is
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: it gonna get better? I mean, you know I'm living
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: in that calm going Man. Is it gonna get better?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Man that I make the right move? Man? Should I
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: go back home? Man? I mean, you know you're gonna
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: have doubts along the way. Sometimes you're gonna doubting, or
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: let me say it to you this way, it's gonna
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: be so daunting at times that you're gonna be faced
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: with some things that appear to be insurmountable. But here's
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: what I always had to do. Whenever I got to
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: moments like that, I thought of the ultimate dream that
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I had for myself and my family. What am I
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: really shooting for? And I think what people have to
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: do is you have to be conscious of the size
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: of your dreams. You have to have dreams so big
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: that not getting your dream is unacceptable because the consequence,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: the alternative, the alternative to not receiving your dreams is unacceptable.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: And you've just got to dreams so big that your
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: dreams are bigger than whatever problem you're having. So dreaming
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: big is not the problem, because God is all out
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: there in them big dreams. God is going to make
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: your dream come true. Business So I want you to
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: just stay. You have to stay prayerful man. Throughout the journal.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Prayer changes things, and prayer gives you a relationship with
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: your creator that allows you to have the strength that
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: you don't have in your weakest moments, allows you to
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: be your strongest because it connects you closer to him.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Your weakness is where he gives you the strength. Hey, man,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: go ahead, all right, Steve, you're listening. So um, I
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: gotta ask you, guys, because we've all done this, what
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: was your most embarrassing text that you've ever sent to
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: someone by accident? We've all done this. Uh, you know
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: there's nothing right worse than you're writing a private text
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: to someone personal text and sending it to the wrong person.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: That is why I do not do group texts. Yeah,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: so if you don't, you would not respond on at
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: all because I'll forget to turn it off and fairly's
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: response comes back single it is nobody else on it,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: And I know what a good text. But so so, Junior,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: have you ever asked, Oh, yeah, you need to understand
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: last names. If the two people got the same last name,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: pick the right one. Because I sent a text to
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: my sister said my MoMA, get on my damn nerve,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: send it right to my mom. Oh, I get so
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: your damn nerves. That's what I do. That's what I do.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I should have known that it was really really a
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: rough week. Yeah, yeah, yeah it was. Yeah. Yeah. Telicia's
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: space and Alicia's space is really close. Yeah that's close. Yeah.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: And I spent Celicia. I should have. Man, i's going
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: for Tell me, I know you sent some necking pictures
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: to somebody before you were married. I know you did, Shirley,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: how do I paint this? Okay, let me try to
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: walk this thing Lando. Okay. Jack went on whole way
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: home and said, find us something to eat, you know,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: find you know, can't. Let's see if we got something
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: there to cook to eat? You know this one this
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: you just got your phone to take pictures and all that,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: so you know you're just trying stuff. I put myself
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: in a hot dog bun with relish and mustard and
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: took the picture and called myself sinning as saying wait
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: till you get home and get this foot loan. And
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I hit sin and did not know man I hit
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: the wrong damn Jackie, and he oh that was Jack.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: You heard what he said, Steve, uncle jacket, get your nephew.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: You can give us the response back. He's still alive.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: That's a good that's a good sign. But what did
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: the wrong Jackie say? Yeah, you got the wrong jacket
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: and you know it was a friend of the family
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: jacket Like when you get home, you're gonna get this
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: foot loan. You got the wrong jacket. God, but where
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: did you Where did you find Where did you find
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: the baby? Hot dog? Bummers? Shut up? Don't go along
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: with him. No, I've seen him at Wedd's but I
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: just didn't never know where to get him. Yeah, you
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: know from Vienna Sausages. The worst text ever said all
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: about five six years ago. And we're in this group
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: text me Rashawn, a couple other people and the executive
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: producer of the show. So the last text had came
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: from Rashawn. So my executive producer is talking to me,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: and she's a woman, and she's right in my face
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: and she just talking to me and she was so
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: close to my face. I picked my phone up and
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: just text back to Rashawn a man, come get her out, yo.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: In words face she too damn close. Seeing I'm thinking
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I'm just sending it right back to Rashawn. It's in
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: the group text. He got it too. She two inches
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: from my face. Her phone dings. She looks at it.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: It says, oh really. Sean is running from the back
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: of the bus trying to stop her from looking at
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell happened. It's too late, dog.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: I said that about her. It was right, she was
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: right there. I heard her phone go ding, I went
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: she getting a text too, coming out more. I'm Today's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: trending stories on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. We'll be

- 1:12:50Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, So do you guys love
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: spicy food? I don't like hot. I don't like hot

- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Frank's Red Hot Sauce, people who like things hot see
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: themselves as hot and more attractive than others. Is that true? See?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I see myself as spicy. I don't see. I think
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: I'm spicy. I don't know I'm really necessarily hot. I
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: don't think it's hot, but I think I'm very spicy. Uh.

- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I mean everything. You never know what New Orleans. Now,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: I'm like, well that's what I say. Everything has to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: be spicy. Yeah. So does he think he's hot? Okay,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: well he just he does. He just proved our point.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Then the point of the story. He just proved it.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: The survey also showed that the hot people see themselves
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: as adventurous, creative, and confident too. So does that describe
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Tash absolutely Junior? Hot or spicy? Oh no, I'm I'm spicy.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: I'm spicy. You know. I can't do like that. Yeah.

- 1:14:21Speaker 1: have flavored in the spicy. Yes, that's the thing. I
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: like that hot with my my phone. Fine, give me
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: some water. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that.

- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, man, I'm gonna grow my own would fool man.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: I would think since you like clothes so much, you
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: would like to sew your own clothes if you kind
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: of wearing that ragged ass man clothes my sister used
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: to make me. I'm not Oh you've had that experience. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: my sister to make my cape from I went to

- 1:16:49Speaker 1: All right, we'll just coming off, beads all in the floor,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: feathers falling off, all of that. Would you rather nosy
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: neighbors or would you rather noisy neighbors? M I'm gonna
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: go with beat up Yeah, I'd rather have noisy neighbors
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: just going over there and make some noise. I can
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: deal with that quick yeahing all through asking question. I
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: can't stand that that health was day next to me
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: was both noisy and old, asked German woman. Just a
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: hateful ass Oh I remember her? Yeah, she's so trifling.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I couldn't stand this woman. Man, man, Marge was over
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: at the other house. She forgot she hated us. Hi
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: guys off, Yeah, she got to mention now she forgot
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: she hated us. Thank you guys coming up. It is
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: our last break of the day, and we'll close out
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the show with the one and only Steve Harvey right
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: after this. You're listening show, right, Steve. Here we are
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: last break of the day. Boy, oh boy, what a
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: day it has been. Oh my goodness, Um, but a
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: great day. A great day, all of been good. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: all right, Steve, you can take us home with some
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: closing remarks. Well, here's here's something I want to share.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: I've really gotten into this mode of sharing some of
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: the things I've learned this year when I was when
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I've started doing these morning meditations. And I just started
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: it this year, everybody, So I'm not like now, I've
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: been doing this for years anything. I just started it
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: this year and it's probably been one of the best
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: changes that I've bought about myself mentally spiritually for just
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: to have the right state of mind to continue up
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: the road. And I just want to talk to you
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: all about about your relationship with God. And once again,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: this is not that I'm an expert that just because
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: trust and believe I'm not. I'm growing every day with this.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: I'm learning, but I'm in a sharing mode of trying
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: to share you what I've learned, so you don't feel
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: like you don't want out there tripping on this thing,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: because I have too. And so I just want to
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: talk to you about what happened to me when I
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: just started to give God a bigger presence in my life.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: And I want you all to listen to this. If
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: you're on the outside like I was, or you borderline
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: like me, if you gave God a bigger presence in
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: your life, what could happen if you just gave him
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: a chance. I just want to throw this out there,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: just what could happen if you would just give him
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: a chance to have just a bigger presence in your life.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Because what it did for me, man, it just it
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: brightened up some of the dullness of my great days.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: You know, I have some days man, while felt overworked, overstressed,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: the monotony, it over it all. You know, when you
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: when you give God a chance, God can put a
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: sparkle in the routine of your daily life. Because see
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: what happens is and I found this to be true
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: in my situation and maybe some of you can relate
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: to this. You gotta repeat so many tasks day after day,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: you know, it just gets monotonous. You got it. You
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: go to work at the same time, you drive the
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: same route. You got the same task at your job.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: You work around the same people, you said, at the
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: same cubicle or the same station. You work in the
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: same route. You know, you drive the same way to
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: work and take the same amount of time. You listen
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: to the same music. This monotony, this monotony can oftentime
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: dull your thinking and when you're when when you get
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: monotonous in your thinking, it does it and in your
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: mind and slips into neutral. So you know, you know
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: what I mean, when your mind isn't stimulated, when your
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: mind slips into neutral because the monotony, you can do
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: it with your ass sleep. You don't need to even
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: think about it. You know your way to work, you
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: know the way home. You ever noticed you'd be driving
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you just know that this is
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: your exiting just monotonous. Your mind can slip into neutral. Well,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: when your mind isn't neutral, it becomes unfocused, and then
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: it's vulnerable to the world. It's vulnerable to the devil.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: You remember, old people used to say the idle mind
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: is a devil's playground. This is what it's talking about.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: And when your day to day task become monotonous, your
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: mind can slip into neutral and all of a sudden
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: and idle mind is the devil playground. And then that
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: just pulls your thoughts downward. And as your thinking process
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: start to deteriorate because it is monotony has become so mundane,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: you become confused about a lot of stuff and you
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: feel like you ain't got no direction. But the best way,
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the best remedy to refocus your mind is that relationship
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: with God. You need God, man, you really do. And
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: I ain't. I ain't talking like I've had him my
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: whole life, even though he's been around me. My Mama
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: raised me in the church. I sleep it off, I
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: was doing my thing. But man, in the total realization
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: of it, on the real, just on the low low,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: you need God, man, you really do. He offers you
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: guide and saying companionship, and it can clear up a
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: lot of stuff for you. Man. And look, I ain't
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: trying to tell you, man that you got to become
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Bible thumping off or you know, or what to have
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: people thinking of you as a holy role or something
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: like that. And I've noticed what you're running from because
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I try to duct the terminology myself and that labels
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: that people put on you. But man, don't trip on that.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: Don't trip on that. I'm telling you, man, go farm
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: yourself in relationship with God, it becomes so helpful to you.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: What would happen if you just gave God a chance?
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Let me just think about it, man, if you made
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: more room in your heart for God, what could possibly happen?
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: I mean, look, you got so much that's going on
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: in your life, so many challenges and barriers and things
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: that you up against, and so much indecision and confusion
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: and wanting to know your beck, your next move. Well,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: why don't you try this? Man? Why don't you sit
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: down and just tell God that you really need it,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: that you really need some help, and you really need
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: a companion, and you would love to have his advice
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: and his counseling. You ain't got to go nowhere to
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: do that. Man, You could just do that today, But
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: it would slow down some of this tripping. I'm telling you, man,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: God performs miracles all the time. God make dreams come true.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: What would happen if you just gave him a chance,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Open up your heart a little bit, man, Make God
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: a greater presence in your life. Man, and he could
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: do some miraculous things. From All you got to do
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: is ask he don't ever walk away from people are
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: seeking him. Okay, talk to God, He'd love to hear
