- 0:10Speaker 1: Ah, I sure will. Good onring everybody you are listening
- 0:15Speaker 1: to the voice, Come on, dig me now, one and
- 0:17Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey, Oh yeah, man, got a radio show.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Do you understand that I'm telling you? God been big
- 0:25Speaker 1: in my life. I'm not gonna kid you. I'm telling you,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and He'll do the same thing for you.
- 0:31Speaker 2: God.
- 0:32Speaker 1: God is a gentleman, you know. I want to I
- 0:34Speaker 1: want to point that out to you. God is an
- 0:37Speaker 1: absolute gentleman. He will not come in unless he's invited.
- 0:44Speaker 1: He don't just barge into your life. He gives us
- 0:48Speaker 1: the power of choice.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 0:51Speaker 1: If you say you got it, I don't need you,
- 0:53Speaker 1: he lets you have it. If you say I need you,
- 0:57Speaker 1: come see about me.
- 0:58Speaker 2: He right there. It's just a real simple thing, man.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So always say to people this, if you've gotten yourself
- 1:07Speaker 1: into something, and please know I have.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I I was stuck.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I thought a couple of times, well might not make
- 1:19Speaker 1: it past this one.
- 1:21Speaker 2: But then if I don't make it past it, what's
- 1:23Speaker 2: gonna happen?
- 1:25Speaker 1: And then I held on to this little thing that
- 1:27Speaker 1: my mother kept talking to me about. She said, sometimes
- 1:31Speaker 1: some when you ain't got nothing else in you, just hope,
- 1:35Speaker 1: she said, just hope it'll be all right, you know.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And what I've learned in my life is that hope
- 1:41Speaker 1: is the beginning of faith. Hope is just is their
- 1:46Speaker 1: possibility out there for me. I show hope, something happened.
- 1:54Speaker 1: See hope. Hope is okay, man, Because like I say,
- 1:59Speaker 1: for me the where I've lived my life, hope was
- 2:01Speaker 1: the beginning of faith. It was just the idea. It's
- 2:05Speaker 1: just the thought that something could change for me, that
- 2:08Speaker 1: something could be a little bit different from me, that maybe, man,
- 2:12Speaker 1: just maybe for some reason, I could be saved, I
- 2:17Speaker 1: could be rescued, things could turn around, it could hit
- 2:21Speaker 1: any other direction. Maybe I could quit messing up. Maybe
- 2:25Speaker 1: somebody will forgive me, Maybe somebody will just say all right.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't know, but I can't count the times I've
- 2:32Speaker 1: been in that position. But then once I hope a
- 2:36Speaker 1: little bit, and then I remember also my mother, because
- 2:38Speaker 1: she was a Sunday school teacher, she taught me the
- 2:41Speaker 1: most valuable lesson I've ever learned in my life. Nothing
- 2:45Speaker 1: has been greater in my life than my faith. She
- 2:48Speaker 1: taught me to pray. Mama used to say, when it
- 2:50Speaker 1: get real, dog for your son, prayer change his things.
- 2:54Speaker 1: She say, when you seem like you lost and you
- 2:57Speaker 1: can't find your way, stop and pray, she said, because
- 3:02Speaker 1: prayer change is things. You know, when you get a
- 3:05Speaker 1: point in your life when you've done all you can
- 3:06Speaker 1: do and you can't do no more and you just
- 3:08Speaker 1: don't know what to do next, she says, stop son
- 3:12Speaker 1: pray and combine that prayer with that hope that you got,
- 3:18Speaker 1: she said, because that hope is the beginning of faith,
- 3:22Speaker 1: she said. If you pray just hoping, she's saying, to
- 3:25Speaker 1: God come through for you. That'll give you confidence that
- 3:28Speaker 1: he can do it again. And then after a while
- 3:31Speaker 1: you quit hoping, she's saying, you start believing, she said,
- 3:34Speaker 1: And that's when you're on to something if you can
- 3:37Speaker 1: turn that hope into belief, that hope into faith, the
- 3:42Speaker 1: ability to believe in something that you can't see. But
- 3:46Speaker 1: the key though the faith is you're believing in something
- 3:49Speaker 1: that you can't see. See hoping a little bit different
- 3:53Speaker 1: from me now, I'm pretty sure, like I say, oftentimes
- 3:56Speaker 1: to tell a lot of people who can explain this
- 3:58Speaker 1: thing a lot better than I can to you. But
- 4:00Speaker 1: just from my side of it being as real as
- 4:03Speaker 1: I can be, richer see hope helps. Man, If you
- 4:07Speaker 1: ain't strong enough to have faith, have hope, and then
- 4:10Speaker 1: if you pray with some hope and God answers your prayer,
- 4:14Speaker 1: then that hope gains a little confidence, and after a
- 4:18Speaker 1: while that confidence becomes faith. Now the ain't just hoping,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but I'm believing. I'm believing in something that I cannot see.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Faith has been the key to my entire existence, even
- 4:35Speaker 1: when I didn't have any It was faith, as I
- 4:39Speaker 1: look back on it, that has gotten me here, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: not just faith, but my faith.
- 4:46Speaker 2: See, you will only get to.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Where you're going in your life based on it your faith.
- 4:53Speaker 2: See.
- 4:54Speaker 1: A lot of people get the word faith confused, like
- 4:56Speaker 1: what's your faith? And then they start going down this
- 4:59Speaker 1: whole list of all these different religions out here. But
- 5:02Speaker 1: really an essence, man, when I talk to people about faith,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I'm talking to you about your your belief. How much
- 5:12Speaker 1: do you believe in the unseen? How much do you
- 5:15Speaker 1: believe in the things you can't see? How much do
- 5:18Speaker 1: you believe in the impossible? How much do you believe see?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Because faith is the belief in things that you cannot see.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Faith is the core of all that is happening to
- 5:36Speaker 1: me today. It is the faith that I have in
- 5:39Speaker 1: my relationship with God that enables me to just oftentimes,
- 5:45Speaker 1: if I stay on the right course and believe a
- 5:48Speaker 1: certain way and act a certain way, his blessings just poor.
- 5:55Speaker 1: They just come, and it comes in a lot of
- 5:58Speaker 1: little ways to I've started to notice, see, it ain't
- 6:01Speaker 1: just a lot of people think blessings is money, and nah, man,
- 6:04Speaker 1: that ain't it. It's coverage. It's every time my plane
- 6:09Speaker 1: lands safe. It's every time they predict bad weather and
- 6:13Speaker 1: I get up in the sky and it don't be
- 6:15Speaker 1: no bad weather. You know, this or this is favor.
- 6:20Speaker 1: These are blessings that get poured out to me. Somebody
- 6:23Speaker 1: call me and offer me something, not money, but an opportunity,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you know. Somebody say, hey, man, I don't know, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: I sent this to you.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I thought you might be interested in it.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Somebody will send me a scripture, or somebody will send
- 6:38Speaker 1: me something that's favor, and it always comes at a
- 6:43Speaker 1: time when I need it the most. That's favor that's
- 6:47Speaker 1: pouring out blessings.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm also the recipient of a lot of other blessings too.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You know, I've been blessed with health, that's amazing blessing.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Man.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I've been blessed with a spirit of not quitting. I've
- 7:02Speaker 1: been blessed with the ability to shoulder huge amounts of responsibility. See,
- 7:09Speaker 1: blessings come a lot of ways. But once you tie
- 7:13Speaker 1: in to God, once you tie in and you start
- 7:17Speaker 1: doing the best you can do, and you start asking
- 7:20Speaker 1: for Him to make you a better person, to help
- 7:23Speaker 1: shape and mold you into the kind of man or
- 7:27Speaker 1: person that he wants you to be. You be amazed
- 7:30Speaker 1: what God can do with you. Man, if you just
- 7:32Speaker 1: invite me in and allow him to be a part
- 7:35Speaker 1: of your life. I mean, what you got to lose
- 7:38Speaker 1: out there? Come on, if you're sitting in the cell
- 7:40Speaker 1: this morning, why would you not change? You have a
- 7:44Speaker 1: chance to turn your life around with a relationship with God.
- 7:47Speaker 1: What you're waiting on? Are you gonna just keep doing
- 7:49Speaker 1: it like that?
- 7:50Speaker 2: Huh? Really?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Come on, man, why would you do that to yourself?
- 7:56Speaker 1: Why would you not allow God to be a part
- 7:58Speaker 1: of your life the way he wants you to be.
- 8:01Speaker 1: God got some big plans for you. If he didn't,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you wouldn't keep waking up.
- 8:05Speaker 4: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Here I am and here I be. You are listening
- 8:17Speaker 1: in to Steve Harvey is.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Moaning time it's early, we rise.
- 8:23Speaker 1: We ain't got this the other time. All of these
- 8:29Speaker 1: verses ain't got to rhyme, because that ain't what I
- 8:33Speaker 1: do at this time. It's early, it's morning, and here
- 8:39Speaker 1: I am for you who come on everybody and watch
- 8:44Speaker 1: what we do.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's the Morning Show.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Hey yeah, it's the Morning Show.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Hey yeah. Last time, it's the Morning Show.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Hell yeah, a lie, it's the Morning showy hey yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Charlie Strawberry calling for real.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Junior kre Space, the magnificent nephew, very confused with his looks.
- 9:17Speaker 2: He top top top up.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Yeah, good morning, Tuesday, Tuesday.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Yes, yes, we got with him last summer. You know
- 9:31Speaker 5: what you just did right there, that's that's talent. You
- 9:34Speaker 5: know how you did that was talent right there, that's talent.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It's it's just gift you. Yeah. Yeah, no, it's not.
- 9:41Speaker 2: It's the whole thing. Oh no, no, no, it's not
- 9:43Speaker 2: the same. It's it's the nerve.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Enlightened me.
- 9:50Speaker 1: It's the nerve to sing in that tone first thing
- 9:53Speaker 1: in the morning without asking nobody. That's what that's what
- 9:57Speaker 1: the talent comes in the nerve of you.
- 10:02Speaker 6: So when is a good time, because I need to
- 10:05Speaker 6: probably take this advice. When it's a good time to
- 10:07Speaker 6: tell somebody they have no talent in the Pacific field.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Well, I try to make it a point to notify
- 10:14Speaker 1: people of that on a daily basis. I try not
- 10:18Speaker 1: to let her day go by without telling somebody to stop.
- 10:22Speaker 7: This.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Ain't what you do? You know now, I'm not a
- 10:25Speaker 1: troll or anything like that on the Internet. I choose
- 10:28Speaker 1: to let people live their life. But if you come
- 10:30Speaker 1: into my personal space thinking that you have a particular
- 10:35Speaker 1: skill set, and I recognize that you don't, but you
- 10:38Speaker 1: continue to come over to my house and my space
- 10:42Speaker 1: with it, I must stop you because, see, someone, I
- 10:47Speaker 1: am not the Church. The church says come as you are,
- 10:52Speaker 1: and God loves you just the way you are. Clearly
- 10:56Speaker 1: I am not the Lord. I don't love you just
- 11:01Speaker 1: the way you are. I love you if you fix
- 11:03Speaker 1: a couple of things first. But yeah, don't, I don't
- 11:09Speaker 1: do that. I don't love you just the way you are. No,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you got to fix a couple of things before you
- 11:16Speaker 1: come back over here. So you know, if you come
- 11:19Speaker 1: over to me and you're a little strong. I stand off.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I say, hey, may you need to do something which self?
- 11:26Speaker 1: And then I had him. You know, a pack with
- 11:29Speaker 1: cologne on it, old spice, deodoran you know.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I had. I don't just tell you, I will give
- 11:36Speaker 2: you a waiter.

- 12:36Speaker 7: We're gonna need you to know a few things about
- 12:37Speaker 7: the church if you're gonna be sitting up in here.
- 12:39Speaker 7: All right, white folks and listen to the Steve Hard
- 12:42Speaker 7: Morning Show, pay attention. This is a quiz. This is
- 12:45Speaker 7: how you fit in when you go to a black church.
- 12:47Speaker 7: All right, cat dog, if you would.
- 12:50Speaker 3: This is Grant. He Hey, great, this is brother Lewis Finley.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I'm calling from Mouth Sign Missionary Baptist Church. You and
- 12:58Speaker 3: your wife just joined the couple of weeks ago, Am
- 13:01Speaker 3: I right? Absolutely? Yes? Okay, So now listen. I wanted
- 13:07Speaker 3: to reach out to you. I know you guys have
- 13:09Speaker 3: started the uh the orientation and from my understanding you
- 13:13Speaker 3: you finished one one class of orientation. You got three
- 13:16Speaker 3: more to go?
- 13:17Speaker 2: Is that right? Yes?
- 13:19Speaker 3: All right, all right, all right. So first of all,
- 13:21Speaker 3: I want to say welcome to not out Sign that
- 13:24Speaker 3: and and I hope you are enjoying yourself. I know
- 13:27Speaker 3: that you and your wife are a mixed couple. You
- 13:30Speaker 3: you're a Caucasian and she's she's black. Are you Are
- 13:34Speaker 3: you liking the church so far?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Grant? Absolutely, we really are enjoying it.
- 13:40Speaker 8: We completed our first orientation and uh yeah, so far,
- 13:44Speaker 8: we're really enjoying it.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, did I catch at a bad time? I
- 13:48Speaker 3: am at work right now, but it's okay. I've got
- 13:50Speaker 3: a couple of I've got a couple of minutes, Okay, Okay.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I just wanted to call you, man. I was worried
- 13:55Speaker 3: I know you because I don't think you know this,
- 13:57Speaker 3: but you are the first cart Pasion to join our church,
- 14:02Speaker 3: and I just want to make sure you kind of
- 14:04Speaker 3: knew the language and and just just kind of knowing
- 14:09Speaker 3: what the Black Church is all about. And there's certain
- 14:11Speaker 3: sins and different things I think you should know so
- 14:15Speaker 3: that you know. I just don't want you to say
- 14:17Speaker 3: that the wrong thing while you at the church, if
- 14:19Speaker 3: that makes sense, Okay, Okay, So what I wanted to do,
- 14:24Speaker 3: like I wanted to give you a little Black Church
- 14:27Speaker 3: quiz so you can kind of maybe if you could
- 14:31Speaker 3: let me know where you are, you know, if you're
- 14:34Speaker 3: on a lower level or a high level as far
- 14:36Speaker 3: as being knowledgeable about the Black Church, like feel this
- 14:40Speaker 3: blank in for me, grant and if you don't matter,
- 14:42Speaker 3: I just want to take a liberty of time and
- 14:44Speaker 3: I let you get back to work. But First of all,
- 14:47Speaker 3: give a blank to God. What would go in that blank?
- 14:52Speaker 3: Right there?
- 14:53Speaker 8: First of all, give a blank to God.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Now all I can think of something has give thanks
- 14:59Speaker 2: to God.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Uh No, see that's wrong. See that's wrong. See see
- 15:04Speaker 3: what it is is. First of all, give a honor
- 15:06Speaker 3: to y'all. All right, remember that. First of all, give
- 15:09Speaker 3: an honor to God. You got that? Okay, yes, yes, okay.
- 15:13Speaker 3: First of all, give an honor to God, who is
- 15:16Speaker 3: the blank of my life? What? What? What? What goes
- 15:20Speaker 3: in the blank? First of all, give an honor to God,
- 15:22Speaker 3: who is the blank of my life, the love of
- 15:27Speaker 3: my life. No, no, see that's that's that's that's wrong.
- 15:31Speaker 3: First of all, give an honor to God, who is
- 15:34Speaker 3: the head of my life. Did you do you share that?
- 15:38Speaker 3: I'm sorry, okay, I just are you sure?
- 15:41Speaker 2: Are you sure about that?
- 15:42Speaker 3: Oh? I'm definitely sure about mine. Don't don't don't. What
- 15:45Speaker 3: I don't want you to do is question what I know.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I'm from the Black Church. I know you.
- 15:49Speaker 2: No, I wasn't.
- 15:50Speaker 8: I wasn't questioning you, sir.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I wasn't question. I'm sorry. I just always heard it
- 15:53Speaker 3: that way. But okay, So so I'm trying to give
- 15:57Speaker 3: you the understanding of knowing what the Black Church is about.
- 16:00Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, I understand.
- 16:01Speaker 8: I'm just I appreciate you.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I apologize.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Now, look, I don't know these answers obviously, but I've
- 16:10Speaker 4: got a meeting.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I got to get to here in a minute.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Like this, I'm curious if everyone in the.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Church gets these stone calls. Well wait a minute, wait
- 16:16Speaker 3: a minute, grand I know what you have a meaning,
- 16:17Speaker 3: But what's more important your meeting or knowing your position
- 16:22Speaker 3: at the Black Church? What what's more important?
- 16:25Speaker 8: I really don't have time for this right now.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I can't believe it's actually happening.
- 16:28Speaker 8: Like, does your pastor even know that you're calling you
- 16:31Speaker 8: right now?
- 16:32Speaker 3: Well? No, I took the liberty of myself. What I
- 16:34Speaker 3: realized you was Caucasian, that I would call and try
- 16:37Speaker 3: to help you so you would know what to do
- 16:40Speaker 3: when you're in the Black Church, when people are saying
- 16:42Speaker 3: certain things you Okay, okay, Grant, if you don't man,
- 16:46Speaker 3: just do this for me, Grant, Like, do you know
- 16:49Speaker 3: what hooping is?
- 16:50Speaker 4: Hooping?
- 16:52Speaker 7: Like?
- 16:52Speaker 8: Who's a hooping?
- 16:53Speaker 3: H No, Cooping is when the past that is at
- 16:56Speaker 3: the end of his sermon, so listen to this. Oh no,
- 17:02Speaker 3: got him do that fun? If you would grant? Oh hello,
- 17:11Speaker 3: oh god, oh my no, no, no, come on you
- 17:16Speaker 3: wit me? Oh no, no, got him go.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I can't believe I'm doing this.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Oh lo yeah, oh god, oh mighty. Okay, Greg, do
- 17:36Speaker 3: you think maybe it's possible that means you could have
- 17:39Speaker 3: some sessions before you come back to the church and
- 17:43Speaker 3: I can prepare you more. Hey man, let's listen.
- 17:46Speaker 2: You have caught me at a really bad time, and
- 17:48Speaker 2: I'm quite honestly just so frustrated.
- 17:51Speaker 8: Like I've never heard of a quiz like this.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I'm really offended to be, Like, do you guys not
- 17:56Speaker 2: want me.
- 17:56Speaker 8: To go here church anymore? Like, as matter of fact,
- 17:59Speaker 8: you should be calling my wife right now.
- 18:02Speaker 4: She's black.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Well, she should already know the coolest questions you the
- 18:06Speaker 3: ones don't know who I'm gonna call her? I said,
- 18:09Speaker 3: call you.
- 18:10Speaker 8: I am at work right now.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I have a meeting to get to in just a minute.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I don't know what you're doing.
- 18:15Speaker 3: And I hold on a second, I have got to
- 18:17Speaker 3: close my office door. This is so embarrassing.
- 18:20Speaker 8: I have never ever received a phone call like this
- 18:23Speaker 8: in my life.
- 18:24Speaker 4: And you better be lucky. I mean, I want to
- 18:27Speaker 4: talk to your pastor.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I am going to talk to him next Sunday.

- 45:47Speaker 2: How you doing? Listen? My name is Simmons. I was
- 45:51Speaker 2: I don't know how to uh oh man.
- 45:54Speaker 7: My wife and I evidently go to the same uh
- 45:58Speaker 7: fertility specialist that you and your wife go to.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Doctor. Doctor. You know, are you familiar with doctor?
- 46:04Speaker 8: I'm familiar with doctor, but that's supposed to be confidential.
- 46:08Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm aware of that as well, Sir. My wife
- 46:10Speaker 7: is out on business right now. She's she's gone for
- 46:13Speaker 7: I won't be back until Tuesday. But I got a
- 46:16Speaker 7: call today, a very disturbing phone call, and wanted to
- 46:20Speaker 7: you know, I looked your number up. They did tell
- 46:21Speaker 7: me what was going on, and kind of wanted to let.
- 46:24Speaker 8: You make somebody told you my number you got You
- 46:26Speaker 8: got my number from somebody.
- 46:28Speaker 2: No, I looked up your number.
- 46:29Speaker 7: Uh here here it is in that show My wife
- 46:34Speaker 7: and I evidently you and you and your wife have
- 46:37Speaker 7: been going through the same type of problems of trying
- 46:38Speaker 7: to get pregnant and so forth and so on, and uh.
- 46:42Speaker 7: From my understanding, your wife is what four or five
- 46:45Speaker 7: months pregnant.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 46:47Speaker 8: Ye wait a minute, ye, my wife is exactly five
- 46:50Speaker 8: months pregnant. But I'm still confused on how you're getting
- 46:52Speaker 8: in touch with me and what this has to do
- 46:54Speaker 8: with me. Well, I mean, all that stuff that we've
- 46:56Speaker 8: gone through is totally confidential, and I'm kind of offended
- 46:59Speaker 8: at you're.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I understand that.
- 47:01Speaker 7: Well, what's what's happening is I got a phone call
- 47:04Speaker 7: from the doctor's office today. It seems like there's been
- 47:06Speaker 7: a huge mistake by the doctor's office. Evidently your wife
- 47:11Speaker 7: has been artificially inseminated with my seed. And I was
- 47:19Speaker 7: what I mean, I'm just as disturbed as you are.
- 47:22Speaker 7: You know what I mean, because I mean, me and
- 47:24Speaker 7: my wife are you know, my wife is too much pregnant.
- 47:26Speaker 8: And finally, how could they do something like that? I mean,
- 47:29Speaker 8: that doesn't make any sense, sir.
- 47:32Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 47:33Speaker 7: All I know is is that you know, I hate
- 47:36Speaker 7: to use the expression, but I'm I'm I'm your wife's
- 47:40Speaker 7: baby's daddy.
- 47:42Speaker 2: And and.
- 47:44Speaker 8: No, okay, wait a minute, no, no, no, no, so mixed
- 47:50Speaker 8: that that doesn't happen, no way.
- 47:53Speaker 7: So I'm trying to make sure I bring the news
- 47:55Speaker 7: to you and see if there's anything that we can
- 47:56Speaker 7: do to I mean, I mean, after being five months pregnant,
- 47:59Speaker 7: it's kind of hard to direct to find a problem.
- 48:01Speaker 8: So okay, and I want this to sound rude, and
- 48:03Speaker 8: I want to sound wrong. You said, baby daddy, are
- 48:06Speaker 8: you black?
- 48:08Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah black.
- 48:11Speaker 8: And my wife is gonna have a black baby.
- 48:13Speaker 7: Well yeah, your wife is gonna have a black baby.
- 48:15Speaker 7: But what I want you to know is I'm not
- 48:17Speaker 7: paying no down support that's.
- 48:19Speaker 8: What about child support? And my wife is having some
- 48:23Speaker 8: other black dude's kid. Are you crazy?
- 48:26Speaker 7: No, I'm not, No, I'm not out of my mind.
- 48:29Speaker 7: I'm just saying I didn't lay it down and conceive
- 48:32Speaker 7: a child with your with your wife, so I'm making
- 48:35Speaker 7: sure I'm not going to be paying the child support.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Man.
- 48:38Speaker 8: I'm not even worried about the child support. I don't
- 48:41Speaker 8: pay the child support. I'm worried about some doctor making
- 48:45Speaker 8: a huge mistake. And and oh my god, we're gonna
- 48:50Speaker 8: have a black baby. I can't believe that. This is unbelievable.
- 48:53Speaker 8: It's unbelievable, and I can't believe you call my house,
- 48:58Speaker 8: give me the doctors, should give me this.
- 49:00Speaker 3: What don't you want it?
- 49:01Speaker 7: It doesn't matter who gives you the news, as long
- 49:03Speaker 7: as you get the news. Now what I want you
- 49:05Speaker 7: to do with this? Please don't be giving the baby
- 49:08Speaker 7: no white names and stuff.
- 49:12Speaker 8: I can't believe that you're so this is incredible, incredible.
- 49:16Speaker 8: Oh my gosh, call me. I'm trying to give me
- 49:21Speaker 8: the I'm ready to go crazy. This is crazy.
- 49:24Speaker 7: Okay, this, this is this is no reason to be violent, sir.
- 49:28Speaker 7: You see what I'm saying this already.
- 49:30Speaker 8: You're worried about me, about paying child support and talking
- 49:33Speaker 8: about your seed and and your baby's daddy. You know, Oh, man,
- 49:38Speaker 8: this this is bringing the best out of me. I
- 49:39Speaker 8: can promise you. Unbelievable man.
- 49:43Speaker 7: Let me let me ask yourself, Sir, do you think
- 49:45Speaker 7: you may need angle management? I mean, you're not gonna
- 49:49Speaker 7: are you gonna? You're not gonna. You're not gonna beat
- 49:51Speaker 7: my child?
- 49:52Speaker 2: Are you?
- 49:55Speaker 8: Old?
- 49:56Speaker 3: Man?
- 49:58Speaker 8: You know how to push man's butt. I can promise you. Man,
- 50:01Speaker 8: that's crazy. No, I ain't gonna beat nobody's baby.
- 50:03Speaker 7: I don't want you being violent to me and your
- 50:07Speaker 7: wife's baby.
- 50:11Speaker 8: Spin this thing around? Un where do you live?
- 50:14Speaker 3: Man?
- 50:14Speaker 8: Who does this?
- 50:16Speaker 4: Okay?
- 50:17Speaker 8: Is this because I'm man? This is crazy?
- 50:20Speaker 7: Well, here's what I'm gonna ask you. Do you think
- 50:22Speaker 7: you might want to be the godfather to the child.
- 50:27Speaker 8: To my own kid?
- 50:28Speaker 3: No?
- 50:29Speaker 8: I guess it wouldn't be my kid because me and
- 50:32Speaker 8: your wife's child. You don't you say that you're crazy?
- 50:36Speaker 8: Don't you say that? Say that that drives me even
- 50:40Speaker 8: thinking about something like that.
- 50:41Speaker 3: It's me talk about something like that.
- 50:43Speaker 8: But it's me and your wife's chea. So don't you
- 50:47Speaker 8: even talk like that. You're crazy. I'll tear a hole
- 50:51Speaker 8: in your head. Don't you talk like that?
- 50:53Speaker 2: Okay, okay, you're gonna tell a hold and who hey?
- 50:55Speaker 8: You in your head? You crazy?
- 50:58Speaker 3: How me up?
- 50:59Speaker 7: This is the kind of thing I don't want my
- 51:02Speaker 7: child around this time, This type of talk, this type
- 51:05Speaker 7: of violence. See your white folks get mad and want
- 51:07Speaker 7: to kill everybody in the room. Don't you kill who
- 51:09Speaker 7: you mad at? Why do y'all do that?
- 51:12Speaker 8: You? You this? Man?

- 54:46Speaker 3: Now.
- 54:46Speaker 6: Ladies, jentlemen, it's time for the Strawberry Letter with my
- 54:48Speaker 6: good friend Shirley Strawberry.
- 54:50Speaker 4: Thank you, my good friend, Junior. Subject. I can tell
- 54:53Speaker 4: by the smells this Stephen Shirley. I've been married for
- 54:57Speaker 4: almost forty years. I have a thirty eight year old
- 55:00Speaker 4: son that has moved back into my house, and my
- 55:02Speaker 4: husband is overjoyed to have a running buddy. They're out
- 55:06Speaker 4: from sun up to sundown on Saturdays, and I was
- 55:09Speaker 4: cool with it at first, until one of my son's
- 55:12Speaker 4: friends approached my husband and I at the grocery store recently.
- 55:16Speaker 4: His name, her name is Muriel, and she's got a
- 55:20Speaker 4: small restaurant that a lot of single men and women
- 55:22Speaker 4: hang out at, eating, drinking and carrying one I didn't
- 55:26Speaker 4: know that my husband was hanging out at Muriels until
- 55:29Speaker 4: I smelled her. She smelled like she had been in
- 55:32Speaker 4: a kitchen and then sprayed some cheap body spray over
- 55:35Speaker 4: the grease smell in her clothes. That is what my
- 55:39Speaker 4: husband smells like when he comes home, comes in late
- 55:42Speaker 4: at night with our sons. I asked her how things
- 55:45Speaker 4: were going down at the restaurant and she said things
- 55:47Speaker 4: are going great and looked at my husband. I stayed
- 55:52Speaker 4: tight lipped until we got.
- 55:53Speaker 2: In the car.
- 55:54Speaker 4: I asked if he'd been hanging out at her place,
- 55:56Speaker 4: and he said it's a place for our son's friends,
- 55:59Speaker 4: not an old man, and like him. His clothes sure
- 56:02Speaker 4: does smell like he's been to Muriels a few times,
- 56:05Speaker 4: and he even had a little of Muriels fragrance on
- 56:08Speaker 4: his shirt before. He couldn't possibly be messing around with
- 56:12Speaker 4: Muriel because she is not a petite woman. He's five
- 56:16Speaker 4: to nine and Muriel is a tall woman. I could
- 56:19Speaker 4: not get the truth out of my husband nor my son.
- 56:22Speaker 4: My son said he hangs out there sometimes, but his
- 56:25Speaker 4: dad is never with him. I asked him where his
- 56:28Speaker 4: dad is while he's hanging out at Muriels and he
- 56:31Speaker 4: said he didn't know. I am too old to be
- 56:35Speaker 4: driving by Muriels looking around for my husband. If nothing
- 56:38Speaker 4: is going on, why does he smell like a cafe?
- 56:43Speaker 4: Why won't they tell me the truth? Okay, sys, now
- 56:46Speaker 4: you know that's not happening. You know that's not going
- 56:49Speaker 4: to happen. The truth. Uh uh sorry, ma'am, but he's
- 56:53Speaker 4: not going to tell you the truth because he can't,
- 56:55Speaker 4: He won't, he ain't, he refuses to. He wants to
- 56:58Speaker 4: keep on cheating, on and on and on whatever he's
- 57:02Speaker 4: been with Muriel, because he knows how you will react.
- 57:04Speaker 4: He's never gonna admit that. Okay, he's never gonna admit that,
- 57:07Speaker 4: because he knows you're gonna go off on him. You'll
- 57:10Speaker 4: be mad, you'll be hurt, you'll be customed, you'll be angry,
- 57:12Speaker 4: you'll be upset, devastated, betrayed, want to leave, and want
- 57:15Speaker 4: to kill him, all of those things. So many many
- 57:18Speaker 4: reasons why he won't tell you the truth. You know,
- 57:21Speaker 4: cheating and lying go together. You know, you usually don't
- 57:24Speaker 4: do one without the other, and you usually don't have
- 57:29Speaker 4: one without the other. Or that would be some sort
- 57:31Speaker 4: of open relationship. If he told you the truth, you
- 57:34Speaker 4: know that he was sleeping with Muriel, then you know
- 57:38Speaker 4: that's like an open relationship. He's letting you know what
- 57:40Speaker 4: he's doing. Okay. I just think you know he's a
- 57:44Speaker 4: typical cheater who wants his cake and eat it too.
- 57:46Speaker 4: If you're in a restaurant, sometimes the smell might get
- 57:50Speaker 4: in your clothes, depending on what's on the menu. I'll
- 57:53Speaker 4: give you that, but that does not explain Miss Muriel's
- 57:56Speaker 4: perfume on him, her fragrance. Like you said, he had
- 58:00Speaker 4: to be in close contact with her. But here's the thing.
- 58:03Speaker 4: If you're waiting for him, waiting around for him to
- 58:05Speaker 4: tell you the truth, forget it. That's not gonna happen
- 58:08Speaker 4: from him or your son. They're thinking, Steve's right now,
- 58:11Speaker 4: So do you? I say, trust your instincts. Okay, if
- 58:14Speaker 4: it looks like a duck and smells like a duck
- 58:17Speaker 4: in this case, you already know what's up. Steve.
- 58:21Speaker 2: It's so much to unpacking this lesson.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Yeah, first of all, I've been married for almost forty
- 58:29Speaker 1: years and got a thirty eight year old son. Let's
- 58:34Speaker 1: just say they got married at twenty. Okay, they had
- 58:42Speaker 1: a child two years later. Let's just say that that
- 58:48Speaker 1: means that the woman is sixty. Now you're thirty eight
- 58:54Speaker 1: year old. To move back in the house with y'all,
- 58:56Speaker 1: you got a running mate, and if they hang out
- 58:58Speaker 1: all the time. And then one of your friends approached
- 59:01Speaker 1: you all at the grocery store. The friend happened to
- 59:03Speaker 1: be a woman named Miriam who's got a restaurant that
- 59:07Speaker 1: a lot of single people hang out at, eating, drinking
- 59:10Speaker 1: and all that.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Now you say, I.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Didn't know that your husband, your husband was hanging out
- 59:15Speaker 1: at Muriels until I smelled her. Oh lord, So now
- 59:24Speaker 1: we got a marriage hanging in the balance based off
- 59:29Speaker 1: your skills as a blood hound?
- 59:33Speaker 10: Boy?
- 59:33Speaker 1: Ain't this letter taking an ignatic turn right here?
- 59:38Speaker 2: See?
- 59:38Speaker 1: Women, I respect you all for you all forensic skills,
- 59:44Speaker 1: and I respect you all for you all's intuition. I
- 59:46Speaker 1: really do. I don't think there's none greater. But this
- 59:50Speaker 1: whole letter is based on smell that what is here? Now,
- 59:55Speaker 1: I'm gona struggle with this one with you a little bit.
- 59:57Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you. She got some restaurants
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: single men hangout. You didn't know your husband was hanging
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: out the Murrors until I smelled her. She smelled like
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: she had been in the kitchen that sprayed, cheap bodies
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: sprayed over the grease, smelled in her clothes, dark going it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: That is what my husband smelled like when he come
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: home late at night with our sons.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Dum dune done what.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: You matching smells? See?
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Now, if your husband and Muriel was right next to
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: each other, smelling just like each other at the same time.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I got you, but these are never they together with
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: the same smell. Oh, lord, lady. I asked her how
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: things were going down in her restaurant. She said, things
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: are going great, and then looked at my husband. They
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: going great. Oh she knows you're down there. There's a
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: way out.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Of this for him. See.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: But then we got to deal with some other the
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: facts too, lady.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: So I'll be right, all right, Hang on, Steve. Part
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: two of your responses coming up at twenty three minutes
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: after the hour. The subject of today strawberry letter. I
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: can tell by the smell. All right, we'll get back
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: into it right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Shows.

- 1:01:54Speaker 4: strawberry letter. I can tell by the smell I want
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: to see you weasel and wiggle your way out of this.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Come on, Well, he's been married forty years, got a
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: thirty eight year old son.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: He'd moved back into the house with the husband.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: They hang out a lot, and everything was cool with
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: y'all hanging out until one of your son's friends came
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: and saw you and your husband at the grocery store.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Her name was Muriel. She got a small restaurant that
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: a lot of single people hang out at me And
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: then you didn't know that your husband was hanging out
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: at Muriels until I smelled her. She smelled like she
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: had been in the kitchen and sprayed. Somebody spray over
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: the grease smell in her clothes. That is what my
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: husband smells like when he come in late at.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Night with our son.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Okay, lady, So, now, wh like I said, you got
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: a marriage that's hanging in the balance based on smells.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: So I asked her how things was going down at
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: a restaurant. She said, things was going great, and then
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: looked at my husband. I stayed tight lipped. Now this
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: is the pro that women are felas. I stayed tight
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: lipped until we got in the car. Wo that car
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: was crowded when they got in there. Oh, that car
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: was crowded when they got in that car. I asked
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: if he'd been hanging out at her place, and he said,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: that's a place for our son's friends. What I'm doing
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: down there, girl, don't go down there. Let my son
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: be down there at that place. Not an old man
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: like me. His clothes should do smell like. He's been
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: the Murial a few times, and he's even had a
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: little Murial's fragrance on his shirt before. Okay, now, lady lady,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: hold on, now you mean you never mentioned a female
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: fragrance on his shirt before today. If you thought it
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: was a female fragrance on that you didn't say nothing.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Then See, I'm this wid a little bit confused. I
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: think her mine is playing tricks on her a little bit.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: He couldn't possibly be messing in out here what she
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: goodn start losing it. He couldn't possibly mess around with
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Muriel because she's not a petite woman.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: He fired nine and Muriel is a tall woman.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Now this is where when Tommy's not here, I take
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: full advantage of the situation. It's because we have somebody on
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: our show five nine and and you know, and most
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: women to him is not petit.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Because he's petit.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Your husband is the same size as Timmy. He fired nine.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: And Muriel is a tall woman. You know, if you
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: find nine lot of tall women in your life. I
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: rarely meet tall women myself personally. But you know I
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: ain't no little petite man. I could not get the
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: truth out of my husband nor my son. What truth
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: what you want him to say? Yeah, I was back
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: in the kitchen wh Marylyn. We was hugging so tight
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: that to smell from her restaurant and fragrances on my shirt.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: You think you finna get that truth. My son said
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: he hangs out there sometimes, but his dad is never
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: with him. That's a true statement, because if his dad
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: is at the restaurant, he's not with him, because your
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: boy be out there in the front with the single people.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: But your son ain't the best judgment either, because he
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: didn't just move back into the house at thirty eight,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: so he ain't doing all that good. Like father, like son.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: This is a mess, hot mess.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: I am too old to be driving by Muriels looking
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: around for my husband. If nothing is going on, why
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: does he smell like a cafe? Well, let me tell
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: you something. Do I think he's been down there?
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I do. Do I think you've been
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: in the kitchen? Yeah?
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: But if it's a small cafe, the food sent probably everywhere, right,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: so he would necessarily had to go in the back.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Muriel owns the restaurant. She come out and hug all
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: the customers. You hug with five nine he little bitty man,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: big mrld And put on round and put everything on
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: his He didn't have on when he came in there,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: because when he hugged her, fragrance is all in the
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: top of his hair.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Big mrld.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: And put him up under one of her breasts and
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: got him in the head like, and hugged him.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: And he liked that.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And he come home every night with that smell on him.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: That could be all that is. I don't think they
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: seeing each other, none of that. If nothing is going on,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: why does he smell like?
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Why won't they tell me the truth? Now, let's just
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: deal with this right here. Why would he tell you
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: the truth?
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Because the truth matters.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: See, no, girl, the truth will all the smell fitna
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: get him a divorce. She finish start driving by murals
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: in the car based on some older detection skills she
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: has as a bloodhound.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: Well, if he ask you this, what if he was,
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: if he wasn't calm down, if he wasn't doing anything,
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: why didn't he just say, yeah, I hang out with
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: at muriels. Why didn't you just say that?
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: No, you don't want to do that because that's too much. Now.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: So, no, I ain't been down I don't know why
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: would I hang out there? He didn't say he wouldn't
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: down there. He listened to me, Yeah he said no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: no no, that's not what he said.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: Okay, what he saying.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Let me see.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you the quote. He did not lie.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: He did not lie. He did not give her all
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: the information. He said, it's a place for our son's friend,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: not an old man like me.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: They ain't say. He ain't say he ain't been down there.
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Uh, but she can smell that he's been down there,
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: all right. Lady comments on Today's Strawberry Letter on Instagram

- 1:10:48Speaker 1: didn't know they had him on the rock. He thought
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: he's doing a photo shoot in the backyard. Something that
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: doesn't God, he didn't.

- 1:11:30Speaker 1: never seen Stevie with a dog or he ain't never fail.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: It's just blind to me. You don't never seen running

- 1:11:54Speaker 4: I told hey, we're moving on.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: You know what, Brother Milton, be witty, but.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Rich On Facebook,
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Steve writes, Hey, Steve, about two years ago my mom
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: passed away and that was devastating for all of us. Now, however,
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: it sure looks like my pops has bounced back as
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: of late. He's been out and about with a way younger,
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: fine woman that can't be more than twenty five years
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: old at the age of sixty eight. I can't blame
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: my pops for shooting his shot and scoring, and he's
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: done pretty well taking care of his money all that said,
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Pop said he's bringing over his new boot for Christmas. Now,
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: my sisters are not happy about her, and they said
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: she is going to blank around and find out. But
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: I just want to tease you. But I just want
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: to keep the peace for Christmas. And oh what gift
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: should I give her?
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Well, probably need to get a helmet because but.
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: This is this make Daddy proud though? Now I don't
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: don't hurt daddy feelings. Well, the girls don't care. The girls.
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: First of all, two problems here you ain't they mama?
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: And number two, why do you want our daddy and
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: you younger than us?
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Yes, they probably gonna be about the same age because
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: you know he's forty three years older, so chances are
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: these kids is older than her. Yeah, the girl, she
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: gonna feel the raft man, Yeah, all the people his
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: age is sick. Yeah, he wants something on And what does.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: She want with him?
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: His money?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Mm hmm Yeah, because he's even have done good by hisself,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: and you know he probably kept himself in shape, and
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: you know he gonna bring the girl by for Christmas.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Ain't nothing y'all can do about it.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: They just gotta do.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're gonna mess up your relationship with your
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: father because you're gonna make him have to pick between y'all,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: and he's gonna go with this young girl.
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: Now mm hmmm.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: All you gotta do is treat a pleasant.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, just be kind.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: You do look like if you want to get a gift,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: get us some get up backpack.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: What kind of gift?
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: Well, it's just wonder woman. You don't get us some character.
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: Give's some sneakers with some lights on them.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: That's all right, some fresh note books.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: I think we might have time for one more. My
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: parents always encouraged me to work hard for what I wanted.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Over the weekend, my sister and I were talking about
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: Christmas plans and talking about tightened budgets for the holidays
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: when she blurted out, thank god Mom and Dad took
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: care of school for me. I was like, what, While
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: I'm not hurting financially and am happy where I am
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: in life, but but come on, I worked my behind
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: off to go to college God loans and and finally
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: close to paying them off, and my parents just paid
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: for my sister's college education. I'm mad about this. So,
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Uncle Steve, I can't decide if it makes me angry
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: or hurts my feelings more. Do I bring it up?
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: No, you don't have to bring it up. Your parents
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: knew that your sister wasn't you. If your parents treated
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: all their children equally in the same your sister probably
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: wouldn't even be in college because your sister don't have
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: the same makeup that you have.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: And they recognized that and so they did hat it
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: for it, right, you.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Know, just understand and thank God that you are who
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: you are, and don't and don't and don't and don't
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: get mad because your blessing is you had the skill
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: set in the mindset to do it. Now you're gonna
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: block your blessing by Hayden because she got because because
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: they paid for her what so mm hmm, she is
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: not you and recognize it.
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: They both have a college education. Yeah, that's the blessing too.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: You know, you.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Almost got these loans paid off and you did it yourself.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: That's an accompaniment.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: So instead of being mad at your parents, be proud
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: of yourself. Thank God for Thatddy brought you through. Wow,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: it's amazing how people block the blessing by looking at
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Instead of looking at what you have, you focus on
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: what you don't have.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Yeah, blessing, good part, right, great advice, thank you, So
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: don't bring it up. Please. Coming up at twenty minutes
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: after the hour, we'll have more of the Steve Harvey
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: Morning Show right after this. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: Harvey Morning Show. All right, So here's the question for you.
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: Did you follow your childhood dream?
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: According to a new survey by Vetti, that's ZiT y,
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: probably not. The survey found that more than two thirds
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: of those who had a dream job picked out as
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: a kid didn't end up making that dream come true.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: For male respondents, becoming a professional athlete top the list
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: at seventeen percent, while twenty two percent of women wanted
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: to become teachers. The age in which reality started to
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: sink in for Americans was fifteen years old when they
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: got their first jobs. The top childhood dream jobs of
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: Americans include doctor, teacher, veterinarian, musician, movie star, professional athlete, artist, etc.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: So did you follow your dream job since your childhood
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: or what? That's the question.

- 1:20:36Speaker 2: Oh? Sport? Yeah?

- 1:20:56Speaker 2: that this show what a music? I can't sing a

- 1:21:09Speaker 2: He was gonna be in there for what he said.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Hena be in there for what music? Music?
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: But if you're gonna be a little drummer boy. And
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I remember when Tom was a little boy and he
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: was in the Christmas Player.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: He got mad, We're not gonna do it this year.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: We're not gonna do it.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: That's what That's what I was trying to tell him
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: every year, because I just Tim was so small. Every
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: year I made him play Baby Jesus. He look, he
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: won't be a wise man.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: That's got no.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Time be trying to explain how little man you're a
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: little boy you shouldn't be Baby Jesus. Every year and
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: then lay down in that hey, quit moving and keep
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: your face covered. You look old. Come on, sir, all right,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I want to go WHI man this year. You're not
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: gonna be no man in this plate.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: You're too short, baby jeez.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: All right, coming up in forty nine, Thank you guys
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: coming to.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Quick him and lay him in it.

- 1:23:25Speaker 4: giving holiday harmony. All right, guys, here we are last
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: break of the day. It's been a great day, Steve.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Now we need some closing remarks words, hey, wisdom for
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: you to take there.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: You know what I like to say, something encouraging the people. Listen.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Piece of advice listen keep a positive attitude. Remain positive
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: as often as much as you can. A positive attitude
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: is important, man, it is important. Listen to me your feelings.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Your feelings are a barometer of your thoughts over the
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: past period of time. Like, for example, somebody taught me
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: one time. They said, hey, Steve, if you really if
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: you find yourself in a gloomy mood, if you find
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: yourself kind of off ciner, if you find yourself feeling
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: a little despondent or troubled, all you got to do
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: is track your thoughts for the last hour and that
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: will explain your mood.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Because your mood is a barometer.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: It's like a It just tells you what you've been thinking.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: So it's imperative that you control what you think. And
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: here's the part that most people don't understand. You have
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: the power to control what you think. Now, are random
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: thoughts gonna run through your mind? Have you ever been
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: praying sometime and you wander off and start thinking about
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: something else, and you got to get back to the prayer. Yeah,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: that's gonna have You're human, Listen to me. That happens everybody.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I don't care if you the Pope, I don't care.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: If you're a priest. I don't care if you Billy Graham,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I don't care. If you're Tdj's I don't care if
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: you Creflow.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: I don't care. You are a human being.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Sometimes random thoughts will come through your mind, but you
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: can seize control of it, because your mind is yours.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: It is the most powerful tool you have.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Your mind is more important than your gift of your talent,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: because if you don't have the right mental attitude, your
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: gift of talent can go to waste. You have got
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: to get control of your thoughts. And okay, so Steve,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: how do you do that? Listen to me. When negativity
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: comes your way, get a balance on it. Now, I'm human.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: Sometimes that negative thought, I just keep running it over
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: in my head over and over and over. But I
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: got to hear them. Get rid of this man, because
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you attract things to you based on how you think.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: I've said this a million times to women. If you
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: think all men or dogs, prepare yourself to meet every
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: last one of them, because that's the thought that you're projecting.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: What we have to understand is our mental capacity. Our
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: thoughts are our.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Remote control to the universe. If you come into your
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: house and you take your remote control and you point
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: it at your TV and you press the on button
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: and you're looking at your TV, what do you expect
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: to happen? You expect your TV to come on. Guess
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: what happens? Your TV comes on? If HBO is channel
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: four hundred, and you press four to ooh, and then
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: you press select what do you expect to see on
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: your TV?
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: HBO? Guess what comes on your TV? HBO.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Do you know where they got the concept of the
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: remote from. They got it from the Bible, because the
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Bible says a man is as he thinketh. So they
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: put that thought into the micro, into the remote, and
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: you can point it at your TV and whatever that
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: remote thinks, that's what the TV becomes. Your life is
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: your television set. What you press on the button in
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: your mind is what will come up on the screen
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: in your life.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: I promise you that's what it is. It works no
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: other way.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: All of us are where we are today because we
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: thought ourselves to this position.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: You can be mad at it if you want to,
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: but you did this. You did it.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: If you sitting there in peace, you did it. If
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: you sitting there in turmoil, you did it. If you
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: have good days and bad days, which we all have,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: we did it. If you've accomplished everything you wanted to
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: accomplish in your life as because that's how you thought yourself.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: If you're working on your dreams and building your aspirations
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: and hopes it is because that's what you think about
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: doing all the time.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: That's how it works, y'all.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: And you don't have to be where you are, You
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: don't have to remain in any condition you don't like.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: All you have to do is change the way you think.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: That is the beginning of the process. It works no
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: other way. Please listen to me when I'm telling you this,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: because this is important information. You can change the whole
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: trajectory of your life with how you think. All you
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: got to do is change the way you think. It
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: is a clear cut scripture that Bible says a man
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: is as he thinking. That is a real deal.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: I was talking with a group of men one day
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: and somebody asked this group of men and said, why
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: you always talking about money. The dude said, because that's
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: what I'm trying to accomplish. He said, but there's other
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: things in life. He said, that's fine, that's fine. You
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: think about him. He said, what about family? He said,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: that's in my thought process because if I make enough money,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: I can take better care of my family. He said,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: but what about your health? He said, if I'm making
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: enough money, I could take care of my health. I
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: can get trainers, doctors, dentists, all of that, he said,
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: But why you got it all tied around money? He said,
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: young man, you have the power to think whatever you
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: want to think. He looked at him, and I don't
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: know why he said this. Out of know he said,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: He said, why you look high to me? He said,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: what that got to do with anything? He said, you
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: look high to me?
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: He said.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: The reason you look high to me, he said, because
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I've been smelling you. You smell like weed. He said,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: why you always smoking weed? He said, Brud, sir, that
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: ain't got nothing to do with what we're talking about.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: He said, you think about weed, I think about money.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: Now what you want to tada. A man is as
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: he thinks, Change the way you think, change to where
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: you live. Those are my closing remarks today. Have a
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: good one today, y'all talk to God.
