- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome it as Verdict with Center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson
- 0:04Speaker 1: with you. It's so nice to have many of you
- 0:05Speaker 1: listening on the radio as well to this show. And
- 0:08Speaker 1: as a reminder, this show, if you like it, you'll
- 0:11Speaker 1: love the podcast and the Center and I do three
- 0:12Speaker 1: days a week. You can grab it for free wherever
- 0:15Speaker 1: you get your podcasts. Senator, We've got a lot to
- 0:18Speaker 1: talk about in this show, including something that we were
- 0:21Speaker 1: worried about and have been talking about for years, and
- 0:24Speaker 1: that was the number of terrorists that we were afraid
- 0:29Speaker 1: were being let into this country with our wide open
- 0:31Speaker 1: southern border under the Biden administration. The number that we're
- 0:35Speaker 1: now being warned about is one that I even would
- 0:38Speaker 1: not have guessed worst case scenario. And now the Trump
- 0:42Speaker 1: officials are saying there are a lot of known and
- 0:45Speaker 1: suspected terrorists in the US.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Well, that's exactly right. The Trump administration testified before Congress
- 0:52Speaker 2: that eighteen thousand known and suspected terrorists are in the
- 0:58Speaker 2: United States because Joe Biden the Democrats let them in.
- 1:01Speaker 2: We're going to break that down. The threat that poses
- 1:03Speaker 2: to national security, the threat that poses to our families.
- 1:07Speaker 2: We're also going to talk about an order and executive
- 1:10Speaker 2: order that the President issued today. He issued an order
- 1:14Speaker 2: protecting AI, ensuring that America wins the race for AI
- 1:19Speaker 2: and beats China. We're going to break that down for
- 1:21Speaker 2: you as well. And finally, we're going to talk about
- 1:26Speaker 2: legislation that I have in the Senate to designate the
- 1:29Speaker 2: Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. I think it is
- 1:33Speaker 2: incredibly important. President Trump has led on this, and there
- 1:36Speaker 2: was a battle in the House of Representatives where unfortunately
- 1:40Speaker 2: they gutted the legislation. We need to designate the Muslim Brotherhood.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We're going to talk about that as well.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is incredible stories and we're going to
- 1:48Speaker 1: have all the details for you in just a moment.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I also want to talk to you about an incredible
- 1:52Speaker 1: opportunity that is something that I am so excited about
- 1:56Speaker 1: at Hillsdale College, and it's you getting to take incredible
- 2:00Speaker 1: courses for free. There is so much confusion in the
- 2:04Speaker 1: world today that it can be hard to find clarity
- 2:08Speaker 1: and truth. And there is a new Hillsdale College miniseries
- 2:12Speaker 1: on colonial America, and it offers a powerful reminder that
- 2:17Speaker 1: the first Americans were searching for the same things. They
- 2:20Speaker 1: believed in faith and reason, and they revealed God's design
- 2:24Speaker 1: for the world, and that understanding became the foundation for
- 2:28Speaker 1: their courage and our freedom. It is an incredible stirring
- 2:32Speaker 1: look at the ideas that we still hold as a
- 2:35Speaker 1: country and really hold us together as a nation today.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now a new Hillsdale College miniseries on Colonial America offers
- 2:44Speaker 1: you a fresh way to think about the holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and it is a great moment to spend with your
- 2:52Speaker 1: kids and your grandkids as well. Now they're offering this
- 2:56Speaker 1: for free, and on top of that, they are all
- 3:00Speaker 1: so offering more than forty other free online courses, including

- 3:06Speaker 1: Book of Genesis, the Rise and follow the Roman Republic.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And you can go even deeper on the American founding
- 3:14Speaker 1: and the Constitution with a constitutional class that I'm taking
- 3:17Speaker 1: right now that is phenomenal and it's all for free.

- 3:39Speaker 1: take advantage of all the forty online classes right now.
- 3:43Speaker 1: All right, so let's get to this first big story center.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And again it is a headline that when I saw
- 3:49Speaker 1: it earlier day, I actually was terrified because Trump officials
- 3:55Speaker 1: are warning eighteen thousand, not eighteen hundred, eighteen thousand known
- 4:01Speaker 1: and suspected terrorists or in the US, they're blaming Joe
- 4:04Speaker 1: Biden also for the attack on the National Guard, and
- 4:08Speaker 1: this is their warning of just how bad it actually is.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That's exactly right. This is dangerous. So here's what the
- 4:14Speaker 2: New York Post has reported. Quote as many as eighteen
- 4:18Speaker 2: thousand terrorists entered the US during the Biden administration. National
- 4:22Speaker 2: counter Terrorism Center Director Joe Kent revealed during a House
- 4:25Speaker 2: committee hearing on Thursday. So far, NCTC has identified around
- 4:31Speaker 2: eighteen thousand known and suspected terrorists that the Biden administration
- 4:37Speaker 2: let come into our country. Can't testified before the House
- 4:40Speaker 2: Homeland Security Committee. These are individuals who, under normal circumstances,
- 4:46Speaker 2: would never be allowed to enter our country because of
- 4:48Speaker 2: their ties to Jahati groups like ISIS and al Qaeda.
- 4:52Speaker 2: He said, Yet the Biden administration not only let them
- 4:55Speaker 2: into our country and in many cases facilitate their entry
- 4:58Speaker 2: into the country, just like the entry of the Afghan
- 5:01Speaker 2: terrorists who committed the terrorist attack here just before Thanksgiving,
- 5:06Speaker 2: killing one of our National Guards member and wounding another.
- 5:10Speaker 2: The FBI foiled other ISIS terrorist attack in Michigan and
- 5:14Speaker 2: New Jersey earlier this year. A self described MAAS operative
- 5:19Speaker 2: also infiltrated the ranks of the US Air Force in
- 5:22Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, and later planned to carry out a
- 5:25Speaker 2: pipe bomb attack with two others before he was thwarted.
- 5:28Speaker 2: In April, before Trump took office, a suspected ISIS terrorist
- 5:33Speaker 2: mowed down and shot New Year's revelers on Bourbon Street
- 5:38Speaker 2: in New Orleans, killing fourteen people. Kent pointed out in
- 5:42Speaker 2: the House Hearing that the accused National Guard shooter, Ramanala Lachanwal,
- 5:49Speaker 2: was just one of eighty eight thousand Afghans, and its
- 5:53Speaker 2: counter Terrorism Office has since identified two thousand of that
- 5:57Speaker 2: group of the eighty eight thousand who have eyes to
- 6:00Speaker 2: terrorist organizations. Another Afghan national was arrested and charged this
- 6:05Speaker 2: month for threatening to carry out a suicide bombing before Thanksgiving.
- 6:10Speaker 2: While a third was collared in Virginia on December third
- 6:13Speaker 2: for providing weapons to his father, an ISIS K commander.
- 6:18Speaker 2: The Post first reported a fourth was led into the
- 6:21Speaker 2: US by the Biden administration and later scheme to carry
- 6:24Speaker 2: out an ISIS inspired Election Day terror attack last year.
- 6:29Speaker 2: All five, including Lackhunwal, entered the country as part of
- 6:34Speaker 2: the eighty eight thousand that received expedited vetting to settle
- 6:38Speaker 2: in the US under President Joe Biden's Operations Allies Welcome program.
- 6:43Speaker 2: An official from the Office of the Director of National
- 6:46Speaker 2: Intelligence told the Post that hundreds of other ISIS affiliated
- 6:51Speaker 2: migrants are roaming the country, including four thousand from a
- 6:56Speaker 2: Central Asian smuggling network and six hundred Tajiks and Uzbeks.
- 7:02Speaker 2: The NCTC has also identified hundreds of MS thirteen trender
- 7:07Speaker 2: Aragua and Cinelota cartel members and notified immigration and customs
- 7:12Speaker 2: enforcement to prioritize their arrests and deportations. The official added. Stunningly,
- 7:18Speaker 2: Kent claim in the hearing that the remaining sixteen thousand
- 7:22Speaker 2: with terror ties who didn't originate from Afghanistan doesn't even
- 7:27Speaker 2: include migrants who came here illegally through the open border.
- 7:31Speaker 2: The Trump administration recently warned Americans that the US was
- 7:34Speaker 2: at quote heightened risk of terrorist attacks. Kent said, noting
- 7:38Speaker 2: risks from quote terrorists pretty much of all stripes, but
- 7:42Speaker 2: in particular from ISIS and from al Qaeda. This is
- 7:47Speaker 2: dangerous and this is what unfolded the last four years
- 7:50Speaker 2: of the Biden administration.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Centaer, I want to play for you the NCTC Director
- 7:56Speaker 1: Joe Kent and what he had to say about this.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 8:01Speaker 3: We've made significant progress under President Trump's leadership. We have
- 8:05Speaker 3: the jihads of ISIS and al Qaeda on the run
- 8:08Speaker 3: in Iraq and Syria thanks to the decisive action and
- 8:11Speaker 3: the strikes that we've taken there recently since President Trump
- 8:14Speaker 3: took office in January. However, we have a persistent threat
- 8:17Speaker 3: from the individuals that were allowed into this country by
- 8:21Speaker 3: the previous administration. The number one threat that we have
- 8:23Speaker 3: right now, in my view, is the fact that we
- 8:26Speaker 3: don't know who came into our country in the last
- 8:29Speaker 3: four years of Biden's open borders. What we have identified
- 8:33Speaker 3: is alarming, and I want to share that with you today.
- 8:36Speaker 3: We just recently put out a warning warning of the
- 8:38Speaker 3: heightened risk of terrorist attacks posed to the homeland by
- 8:42Speaker 3: terrorists pretty much of all stripes, but in particular from
- 8:44Speaker 3: ISIS and from al Qaeda.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Well let's just pause there and we'll play the second
- 8:49Speaker 1: part in a moment. But sentater your reaction to there
- 8:52Speaker 1: has now been put out a warning for a ISIS
- 8:57Speaker 1: al Qaeda type attack in the US. Know why the
- 9:00Speaker 1: national news is not covering this that they're saying, Hey,
- 9:03Speaker 1: we have a height in the work. This is saying
- 9:06Speaker 1: we're very concerned about this is now being said, and
- 9:09Speaker 1: I still haven't seen this on the news anywhere.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Well, the massive national security threat we face. Over four
- 9:16Speaker 2: years of the Biden Harris administration, we saw over twelve
- 9:21Speaker 2: million people coming to this country illegally, a massive invasion.
- 9:25Speaker 2: It is the highest rate of illegal immigration in our
- 9:28Speaker 2: nation's history. We also saw more than two million god aways.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Now why did god aways matter? God Aways are the
- 9:36Speaker 2: people that did not turn themselves in. Of the twelve million,
- 9:40Speaker 2: roughly ten million of them, when they came across they
- 9:43Speaker 2: went and looked for border patrol. They turned themselves in.
- 9:46Speaker 2: The god aways are much much more likely to be criminals,
- 9:51Speaker 2: to be murderers, to be rapists, to be child molesters,
- 9:53Speaker 2: to be gang members, to be terrorists. That two million
- 9:57Speaker 2: that are god Aways is the most concerning population that's
- 10:02Speaker 2: coming into this country. By the way, Biden and the
- 10:04Speaker 2: Democrats did not care at all. They did not go
- 10:07Speaker 2: after the Godaways. They literally imported two million potential criminals
- 10:11Speaker 2: into this country. Now there's a smaller subset of those
- 10:16Speaker 2: who we have evidence they are likely terrorists. The Trump
- 10:20Speaker 2: administration is now telling us that is eighteen thousand people
- 10:25Speaker 2: who we believe are likely terrorists. That is dangerous and
- 10:30Speaker 2: it really underscores the urgency with which the Trump administration
- 10:33Speaker 2: is going after and arresting and incarcerating and deporting those
- 10:39Speaker 2: who are terrorists, those who are murderers, those who are rapists,
- 10:43Speaker 2: those who are child molesters, those who are gangbanriors. That
- 10:47Speaker 2: if you want to protect our families, if you want
- 10:49Speaker 2: to protect our kids, that is massively, massively and important,
- 10:54Speaker 2: and it actually explains why the Democrats in the media
- 10:57Speaker 2: are losing their mind because they don't want these criminals arrested.
- 11:02Speaker 2: This is front and center a massive issue for the country.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's more of what the NCTC director Joe
- 11:11Speaker 1: Kent was saying in the second part of his warning,
- 11:13Speaker 1: take a listen for everybody out there, and again ask
- 11:15Speaker 1: yourself this question. Why are you probably only hearing this
- 11:17Speaker 1: audio for the very first time or even about this
- 11:19Speaker 1: story on this show? How is this not leading the
- 11:23Speaker 1: nightly news? Keep listening.
- 11:25Speaker 3: NCTC has been crunching the numbers and going through the
- 11:28Speaker 3: sheer volume of known and suspected terrorists that are in
- 11:31Speaker 3: the country that came in under the Biden administration. So far,
- 11:35Speaker 3: NCTC has identified around eighteen thousand known and suspected terrorists
- 11:40Speaker 3: that the Biden administration let come into our country. These
- 11:43Speaker 3: are individuals who, under normal circumstances would never be allowed
- 11:47Speaker 3: to enter our country because of their ties to Jihati
- 11:50Speaker 3: groups like ISIS and al Qaeda. Yet the Biden administration
- 11:53Speaker 3: not only let them into the country and in many
- 11:55Speaker 3: cases facilitated their entry into the country, just like the
- 12:00Speaker 3: entry of the Afghan terrorists who committed the terrorist attack
- 12:03Speaker 3: here just before Thanksgiving, killing one of our National Guard
- 12:06Speaker 3: members and wounding another. That Afghan was brought into the
- 12:09Speaker 3: country as a group of over one hundred thousand Afghans
- 12:13Speaker 3: who were brought here during the disastrous withdraw from Afghanistan.
- 12:17Speaker 3: These individuals, despite what has been reported, were not vetted
- 12:21Speaker 3: properly to come into the United States. The individual terrorists
- 12:25Speaker 3: who committed the attack in DC, he was vetted to
- 12:28Speaker 3: serve as a soldier in Afghanistan. The Biden administration essentially
- 12:33Speaker 3: used his tactical level vetting as a ruse to bring
- 12:37Speaker 3: him here and to bring him into our communities. And
- 12:39Speaker 3: we've seen the tragic results of that. Now that Afghan,
- 12:42Speaker 3: that attacker, that terrorist is just one of eighty eight thousand.
- 12:46Speaker 3: We've identified two thousand of that group of eighty eight
- 12:49Speaker 3: thousand who have ties to terrorist organizations. We're working right now,
- 12:53Speaker 3: hand in hand with DHS and with the FBI to
- 12:56Speaker 3: run down this two thousand, the Afghans who came here
- 12:59Speaker 3: under allies welcome who have ties to terrorist organizations, and additionally,
- 13:02Speaker 3: the other sixteen thousand individuals or ties to terrorist organizations
- 13:06Speaker 3: that Biden let into our country.
- 13:09Speaker 1: This wasn't an accident, and I think that's part of
- 13:12Speaker 1: this story center, is this was done deliberately. This wasn't
- 13:16Speaker 1: an oversight. It was we're asleep at their wheel and
- 13:20Speaker 1: we just didn't realize what was going on. This was
- 13:25Speaker 1: done in a way that they knew was a problem,
- 13:28Speaker 1: and they knew the problem was getting bigger and bigger,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and they didn't care what happened to average Americans.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, look, the sheer quantity eighteen thousand known and suspected terrorists.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It'd be one thing if the Biden administration in four
- 13:44Speaker 2: years they let in a dozen known as suspected terrorists,
- 13:48Speaker 2: one hundred known as suspected terrorists. That would be concerning.
- 13:51Speaker 2: One terrorist could kill hundreds or even thousands of Americans.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You and I would not be happy if they let
- 13:58Speaker 2: in a dozen or one hundred, eighteen thousand, Holy cow, Yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 2: I mean that is a massive failure of our national
- 14:07Speaker 2: security apparatus. That is a massive failure where the Biden administration,
- 14:12Speaker 2: the Democrats prioritized politics. Let everybody in. It doesn't matter
- 14:18Speaker 2: where they're coming from. It doesn't matter if they're all
- 14:20Speaker 2: kind of terrorists. It doesn't matter if they're Hesbala, it
- 14:22Speaker 2: doesn't matter if they're Hamas, it doesn't matter if they're
- 14:25Speaker 2: objective in coming to America is to come to DC
- 14:28Speaker 2: and to shoot National guardsmen. Because they are radical America
- 14:33Speaker 2: hating terrorists, we will let them in because we think
- 14:36Speaker 2: one day they will have the right to vote, maybe immediately,
- 14:40Speaker 2: maybe in time, and they'll vote for Democrats. And so
- 14:43Speaker 2: if American citizens are murdered, the Democrats were willing to
- 14:47Speaker 2: do that. Yeah, that is It's staggering and it's indefensible.
- 14:52Speaker 1: For the next sixty seconds, can you hit pause on
- 14:55Speaker 1: your life and just think about this. Every day, millions
- 14:58Speaker 1: of children face a rushing reality, a constant defeating message
- 15:03Speaker 1: echoes and their empty stomachs and their desperate eyes. It
- 15:06Speaker 1: is that you don't matter. Poverty doesn't just steal food
- 15:09Speaker 1: and shelter. It steals hope, dignity, and the fundamental belief
- 15:13Speaker 1: that they are loved. But there's another message, one of

- 15:44Speaker 1: child a future, give them hope. Visit Compassion Dot com today,
- 15:49Speaker 1: that's Compassion dot Com. You may have heard about AI.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's pretty impressive what it can do, but there also
- 15:57Speaker 1: has to be framework around it and making sure that
- 16:00Speaker 1: it is a way for us to use the tools
- 16:02Speaker 1: and also keep people safe. There's a lot of concern
- 16:06Speaker 1: with AI also when it comes to who's going to
- 16:09Speaker 1: be leading in the industry. Is it going to be
- 16:11Speaker 1: the United States or China? And what does AI look
- 16:15Speaker 1: like if they're the leader, and how can they manipulate
- 16:19Speaker 1: everything through AI center. This is something that we've talked
- 16:22Speaker 1: about on this show a lot. I think we've led
- 16:25Speaker 1: on this topic. It's an important one because it is
- 16:29Speaker 1: a race I describe the other day on TV as
- 16:32Speaker 1: this is no different than the race of the Moon
- 16:34Speaker 1: with Russia, the race to the moon with AI and China.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Whoever gets there first is probably going to win and
- 16:39Speaker 1: own it. And this is a really really important subject
- 16:44Speaker 1: right now. And it's also when I think that deals
- 16:45Speaker 1: with national security.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So the single most important economic battle we have in
- 16:50Speaker 2: this country right now is the race for AI. This
- 16:54Speaker 2: is going to transform the world. We may not like it,
- 16:57Speaker 2: but it's going to happen. The binary choice is does
- 17:02Speaker 2: America win or does China win. Look, whoever wins the
- 17:07Speaker 2: race for AEI, the values of that country will define
- 17:11Speaker 2: the characteristics of AI. If you want AI to be
- 17:15Speaker 2: defined by the values of China, if you want it
- 17:18Speaker 2: to be surveillance and control and propaganda and the communist
- 17:23Speaker 2: government controlling every thing you think, then you want China
- 17:27Speaker 2: to win. If you want it to be free speech
- 17:30Speaker 2: and free enterprise and individual rights, then you want America
- 17:33Speaker 2: to win. And this is you think back to the
- 17:36Speaker 2: nineteen nineties. The battle for the Internet was a massive battle.
- 17:41Speaker 2: America won the battle for the Internet. We prevailed. This
- 17:46Speaker 2: battle of AI is more consequential than the battle for
- 17:49Speaker 2: the Internet. Today, President Trump signed an executive order seeking
- 17:54Speaker 2: to ensure a consistent national standard of rules for AI.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Stop Gavin Newsom and HOCl and JB. Prisker and on
- 18:05Speaker 2: all these left wing democrats in the States from putting contradictory, burdensome,
- 18:11Speaker 2: inconsistent rules on AI that ends up crippling American AI
- 18:16Speaker 2: and letting China win. I want you to listen to
- 18:18Speaker 2: Presidency talked about this today.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Well, thank you very much. We have a big signing
- 18:23Speaker 4: right now, and we have a tremendous industry where we're
- 18:27Speaker 4: leading by a lot. It's the AI artificial intelligence. I
- 18:31Speaker 4: always thought it should be SI supreme intelligence, but I
- 18:35Speaker 4: guess somewhere along the line they decided to under word
- 18:38Speaker 4: artificial and that's okay with me. That's up to them.
- 18:41Speaker 4: It's a massive industry. We're leading China, We're leading everybody
- 18:46Speaker 4: by a tremendous amount. Where the electricity is being built
- 18:50Speaker 4: by them in every plant they're building the electricity. We're
- 18:52Speaker 4: getting them rapid approvals, but they're spending trillions of dollars
- 18:57Speaker 4: and they can't. Basically says a couple of other things
- 19:01Speaker 4: that are less important, but one of the things it
- 19:03Speaker 4: has is you have to have a central source of approval.
- 19:06Speaker 4: When they need approvals of things, they have to come
- 19:09Speaker 4: to one source. They can't go to California, New York
- 19:12Speaker 4: and various other places like Illinois with Pritzker, who's you know,
- 19:16Speaker 4: a totally unreasonable person, and they have to have you know,
- 19:19Speaker 4: they're putting all this money in. It's a big part
- 19:22Speaker 4: of the economy and there's only going to be I
- 19:24Speaker 4: think one winner here. I don't know if anybody agrees
- 19:27Speaker 4: with that. I think most people agree, but there's only
- 19:29Speaker 4: going to be one winner here, and that's probably going
- 19:31Speaker 4: to be the US or China, and right now we're
- 19:35Speaker 4: winning by a lot. China has a central source of approval.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I don't think they have any approval to just go
- 19:40Speaker 4: and built. But people want to be in the United
- 19:42Speaker 4: States and they want to do it here, and we
- 19:44Speaker 4: have the big investment coming. But if they had to
- 19:47Speaker 4: get fifty different approvals from fifty different states, you can
- 19:49Speaker 4: forget it because it's not possible to do especially if
- 19:52Speaker 4: you have some hostile All you need is one hostile
- 19:55Speaker 4: actor and you wouldn't be able to do it. So
- 19:58Speaker 4: it doesn't make sense. I didn't have to briefed on this.
- 20:00Speaker 4: By the way, this is real easy business. I mean,
- 20:02Speaker 4: this is simple, so we're very happy with that. But
- 20:05Speaker 4: this is about something a little bit different. We want
- 20:08Speaker 4: to have one central source of approval, and we have
- 20:12Speaker 4: I think great Republican support. I think we probably have
- 20:16Speaker 4: Democrats support too, because it's common sense. I mean, you
- 20:18Speaker 4: can't go to every time you make a change, and
- 20:20Speaker 4: it could be a very reasonable change, you still won't
- 20:23Speaker 4: get it approved if you have to go to fifty states.
- 20:26Speaker 4: So this centralizes it and it's something which the people
- 20:30Speaker 4: will behind me, the very distinguished people, all but Tim
- 20:35Speaker 4: Cook just left of Apple and spoke to all of
- 20:38Speaker 4: the big companies, great companies, and they won't be able
- 20:42Speaker 4: to do this. This will not be successful unless they
- 20:45Speaker 4: have one source of approval or disapproval. Frankly, you could
- 20:49Speaker 4: have disapproval too, but it's got to be one source.
- 20:51Speaker 4: They can't go to fifty different sources.
- 20:54Speaker 1: This seems to be a core point of what the
- 20:56Speaker 1: President and what you were trying to accomplish, which is
- 20:59Speaker 1: that one source, because otherwise it would be impossible to
- 21:02Speaker 1: grow AI and to deal with it the way that
- 21:05Speaker 1: we need to deal with it if you didn't have
- 21:08Speaker 1: this kind of one standard across the board.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Look, AI is transformational. Think back to the nineteen nineties.
- 21:15Speaker 2: The nineteen nineties, Bill Clinton was president and the Internet.
- 21:20Speaker 2: It was the dawn of the Internet, and we made
- 21:23Speaker 2: a choice. America made a choice to do a light
- 21:26Speaker 2: touch regulatory approach to the Internet, and we ended up
- 21:29Speaker 2: winning that race. America dominates tech, We dominate the Internet.
- 21:34Speaker 2: It produced hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jobs
- 21:38Speaker 2: in the United States. That was incredibly consequential. AI is
- 21:42Speaker 2: the same point and Ben, I'll say, Look, I understand
- 21:45Speaker 2: people across the country. They're nervous about AI. They're afraid.
- 21:49Speaker 2: They don't want AI to come take their jobs. They
- 21:51Speaker 2: don't want AI to render them irrelevant. They don't like
- 21:54Speaker 2: the technology. And I get that that's not a crazy
- 21:56Speaker 2: thing to think. Yeah, but look my view, lud eyed,
- 22:01Speaker 2: I don't think the fact that you're nervous about technology
- 22:04Speaker 2: can make it go away. As much as you might
- 22:08Speaker 2: be worried. Listen, I'll readily admit if there were a
- 22:11Speaker 2: button in front of me right now to destroy every
- 22:13Speaker 2: cell phone in the world, I'd push that button because
- 22:16Speaker 2: I think cell phones are a portal. You know, I'm
- 22:18Speaker 2: a dad. I've got two teenage girls. Cell phones are
- 22:22Speaker 2: a portal to every evil force in the world at
- 22:25Speaker 2: our kids. But we don't live in that world. AI
- 22:28Speaker 2: is here, it is coming. We have a binary choice.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Does America win it or does China win it. I
- 22:35Speaker 2: want you to listen to what I had to say
- 22:37Speaker 2: with President Trump in the Oval to day give a listen.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Ted Cruz has been a very strong advocate of common
- 22:43Speaker 4: This is common sense. I mean, I think it's nothing
- 22:45Speaker 4: one of the common sense.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Please say, listen, this is the single most important economic
- 22:51Speaker 2: question in the country and in the world. Who wins
- 22:54Speaker 2: the race for AI. You look back to the nineteen nineties,
- 22:58Speaker 2: there was a similar inflation point with the beginning of
- 23:01Speaker 2: the Internet, the dawn of the Internet, and Bill Clinton
- 23:04Speaker 2: was president at the time. He signed an executive order
- 23:06Speaker 2: just like you're doing, that put into law a light
- 23:10Speaker 2: touch regulatory approach to the Internet, and the result was
- 23:14Speaker 2: incredible economic growth in jobs in the United States. The
- 23:19Speaker 2: same time, the European Union took a very heavy handed
- 23:22Speaker 2: regulatory approach. Here's an amazing statistic, mister President. In nineteen
- 23:27Speaker 2: ninety three, the US economies in Europe's economy were virtually
- 23:31Speaker 2: identical in size. Today, America's economy is more than fifty
- 23:35Speaker 2: percent larger than Europe's and the two drivers of that
- 23:39Speaker 2: are tech and the shale revolution. It transformed this country,
- 23:43Speaker 2: and AI is the same thing. It's a race, and
- 23:46Speaker 2: if China wins the race, whoever wins, the values of
- 23:50Speaker 2: that country will affect all of AI. We don't want
- 23:55Speaker 2: China's values of surveillance and centralized control by the communist
- 23:59Speaker 2: govern governing AI. We want American values of free speech,
- 24:03Speaker 2: of individual liberty, of respecting the individual. So this executive order,
- 24:07Speaker 2: I believe is a tremendously important Thank you for your leadership.
- 24:10Speaker 1: You know, Senator, Just to underscore how important this is
- 24:14Speaker 1: and what you just described there. Even Donald Trump on
- 24:17Speaker 1: True Social said, the Wall Street Journal has another ridiculous
- 24:20Speaker 1: story today that China's dominating us in the world on
- 24:24Speaker 1: the production of electricity having to do with AI. They're wrong.
- 24:28Speaker 1: As usual, every AI plant being built in the United
- 24:31Speaker 1: States is building its own electric generating facilities. The approvals
- 24:36Speaker 1: are being given carefully but very quickly a matter of weeks.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Any excess electricity being produced is going to go to
- 24:44Speaker 1: our electric grid, which is being strengthened and expanded for
- 24:47Speaker 1: the purpose for other purposes than AI. Like this is
- 24:52Speaker 1: not just moving forward and protecting us and going to
- 24:55Speaker 1: this race with China. Who's going to be in charge
- 24:58Speaker 1: of it, who's going to be the best at it?
- 25:00Speaker 1: But this is also building American infrastructure and a lot
- 25:03Speaker 1: of American jobs are actually going to be created out
- 25:06Speaker 1: of this as well.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Well.
- 25:08Speaker 2: This is a common sense principle. We should be the
- 25:10Speaker 2: party of jobs. AI. It's going to produce disruption. It's
- 25:15Speaker 2: part of the reason people are scared of it. But
- 25:17Speaker 2: it's also going to create millions of jobs. And the
- 25:21Speaker 2: simple question we want to ask is who do we
- 25:23Speaker 2: want to win? Do we want a world where China
- 25:27Speaker 2: wins ai AI is coming. You may not like it,
- 25:30Speaker 2: you may be scared about it, you may not know.
- 25:33Speaker 2: And I get it's easy to say. Listen, I wish
- 25:37Speaker 2: nuclear weapons didn't exist. If there were a button to
- 25:41Speaker 2: make every nuclear weapon disappear, I push that button. But
- 25:44Speaker 2: they do exist, and if they exist, I want to
- 25:47Speaker 2: make sure America has the best and is able to
- 25:51Speaker 2: deter someone attacking US. AI is similar. And I got
- 25:55Speaker 2: to say President Trump is being bold, He's being visionary,
- 26:00Speaker 2: understands that if we win or lose this, this is
- 26:04Speaker 2: the economic battle of the twenty first century. And I
- 26:08Speaker 2: was really proud I stood side by side with Donald
- 26:10Speaker 2: Trump saying America is going to win the race for AI.
- 26:14Speaker 2: We're going to beat China. That is massively important for
- 26:17Speaker 2: jobs in America.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Hey, I just want to take a moment and talk
- 26:21Speaker 1: to you about an amazing offer that is happening right

- 28:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Finally, Senator, I love doing this show because we get
- 28:03Speaker 1: to bring attention and actually get our listeners involved. The
- 28:07Speaker 1: next subject we're going to be talking about is one
- 28:09Speaker 1: where I would say to everyone listening. This is when
- 28:12Speaker 1: you say, I'm going to take a moment, I'm going
- 28:14Speaker 1: to send an email, I'm going to call my center,
- 28:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna call my congressman. This is something you've been
- 28:20Speaker 1: working on. We've been talking about a lot, and it
- 28:23Speaker 1: deals with the Muslim Brotherhood bill, and I want you
- 28:27Speaker 1: to give this update because it's important and a lot
- 28:29Speaker 1: of people that listen to Eric, they say, hey, what
- 28:31Speaker 1: can I do? How can my voice be heard? This
- 28:33Speaker 1: is a perfect example of where your phone call can
- 28:36Speaker 1: make a big difference.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Absolutely, so, Look, the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization.
- 28:41Speaker 2: It is one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations on
- 28:44Speaker 2: the planet. I have been fighting for literally ten years
- 28:49Speaker 2: for the United States to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as
- 28:52Speaker 2: a terrorist organization. In the first Trump administration, I came
- 28:57Speaker 2: incredibly close. I almost got the Trump administration to do it.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Here's what defeated me. So there's a global umbrella group,
- 29:06Speaker 2: the Muslim Brotherhood, and there are a bunch of affiliates
- 29:10Speaker 2: that are in different countries. And there were deep state
- 29:14Speaker 2: State Department operatives who argued against what I was trying
- 29:17Speaker 2: to do in Trump want, and the argument they use
- 29:20Speaker 2: that prevailed is they said, well, look, not every single
- 29:25Speaker 2: affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood can we prove as a
- 29:28Speaker 2: terrorist organization. Some of them clearly are, but others of
- 29:32Speaker 2: them there's not clear and irrefutable evidence that they're engaged
- 29:36Speaker 2: in terrorism. That's what defeated my effort. Trump won. So
- 29:40Speaker 2: here's what I've done Trump too. I said the previous
- 29:44Speaker 2: efforts were top down. They were designate the global Muslim
- 29:48Speaker 2: Brotherhood and then designate all their affiliates. They argued, some
- 29:53Speaker 2: of the affiliates may not be terrorists. I don't buy that,
- 29:56Speaker 2: but it was an argument, and it was an argument
- 29:58Speaker 2: that was successful. In So in Trump two, I inverted
- 30:04Speaker 2: the entire approach. I said, all right, let's rather than
- 30:06Speaker 2: being top down, let's start bottom up. And so I
- 30:10Speaker 2: filed legislation that directed the administration designate every Muslim Brotherhood
- 30:16Speaker 2: affiliate that there is clear and unequivocal evidence their terrorist organization.
- 30:21Speaker 2: So for example, Hamas Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine,
- 30:26Speaker 2: so there is no dispute Hamas is a terrorist organization.
- 30:29Speaker 2: So that that is an easy example of a Muslim
- 30:32Speaker 2: Brotherhood affiliate that is indisputably terrorist. My legislation says designate
- 30:39Speaker 2: the affiliates, and then it says designate the global Muslim
- 30:44Speaker 2: Brotherhood for providing money, for providing material assistance to the
- 30:51Speaker 2: affiliates that are indisputably terrorist organizations. So I filed that legislation.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I've been pressing the Trump administration. President Trump stepped in
- 31:00Speaker 2: and he announced that he was in designating the Muslim
- 31:05Speaker 2: Brotherhood's terrorist organization, not the global but the individual affiliates.
- 31:09Speaker 2: And basically the Trumpet administration is following the approach in
- 31:14Speaker 2: my legislation. Now I want you to listen. This week,
- 31:18Speaker 2: a State Department official from the Trump administration was testifying
- 31:21Speaker 2: before the Senate. I questioned him on this give a listen.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Do you believe the Muslim Brotherhood poses a threat to
- 31:28Speaker 2: the national security of the United States.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Yes.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Now let's pivot away from the President's executive order to
- 31:34Speaker 2: what's happening here in Congress. As I said earlier, and
- 31:39Speaker 2: as you observed, I've been pushing to designate the Muslim
- 31:42Speaker 2: Brotherhood for more than a decade.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Now.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I've introduced legislation to do so in all but one
- 31:48Speaker 2: Congress since I was elected. This Congress, I introduced a
- 31:51Speaker 2: version of my bill, the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act,
- 31:55Speaker 2: that uses the same bottoms up approach that is in
- 31:58Speaker 2: President Trump's executive ward. It has bipartisan support in both chambers.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Last week, frustratingly, the House version of my bill was
- 32:08Speaker 2: advanced but terminally weakened by the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
- 32:13Speaker 2: They took out the designation part of the Muslim Brotherhood
- 32:16Speaker 2: Terrorist Designation Act. The Senate should do better, and we
- 32:20Speaker 2: should move the full bill on our side. Some public
- 32:24Speaker 2: reports and statements have claimed that House members, including House Republicans,
- 32:28Speaker 2: did not believe that Congress should have a role in
- 32:31Speaker 2: crafting sanctions which are to be implemented by the executive
- 32:34Speaker 2: I find that argument to be specious, and I know
- 32:37Speaker 2: the vast majority of this committee does as well, Mister Lerherfel,
- 32:43Speaker 2: I and my colleagues have implicit and explicit expectations that
- 32:47Speaker 2: executive officials will work with and, when appropriate, even defer
- 32:51Speaker 2: to this Committee on issues of foreign policy, including sanctions
- 32:54Speaker 2: and including the designation of terrorist groups. What is your
- 32:58Speaker 2: view of the role that Congris plays on these issues,
- 33:01Speaker 2: including on initiatives like mine to designate the Muslim Brotherhood
- 33:04Speaker 2: as a terrorist group.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Senator Cruz, thank you for your question. I fully respect
- 33:11Speaker 5: Congress's Article one authority and making laws, including with respect
- 33:18Speaker 5: to foreign terror organization designations or other types of designations.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Whatever legislation has passed, I will faithfully execute if I
- 33:27Speaker 5: am confirmed.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Thank you all right. Final question, one element of this
- 33:32Speaker 2: debate that continues to surprise me, and I don't think
- 33:35Speaker 2: the American people, even many people here in Congress, I
- 33:39Speaker 2: don't think they appreciate the degree to which are allies
- 33:43Speaker 2: support acknowledging and designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.
- 33:48Speaker 2: As you know, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the uae Bahrain, Kenya,
- 33:55Speaker 2: they have all already designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a
- 33:58Speaker 2: terrorist organization. These are our allies and partners in the
- 34:01Speaker 2: Middle East and Africa, and there's a pernicious narrative that
- 34:06Speaker 2: doing the same thing they've done designating the Muslim Brotherhood
- 34:09Speaker 2: will somehow alienate these partners. Describe how you would work
- 34:13Speaker 2: with our allies to counter the Brotherhood's malign activities.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Senator Cruz, thank you for that question. I can say
- 34:22Speaker 5: that in a previous capacity in the Bureau of counter Terrorism,
- 34:25Speaker 5: I led our efforts to designate the IRGC, get designations
- 34:30Speaker 5: of other countries to designate the IRGC as well as
- 34:33Speaker 5: Hisbela and Hamas, particularly in the Western Hemisphere. That approach,
- 34:38Speaker 5: it's pretty pretty intense diplomacy. It requires a lot of legwork.
- 34:44Speaker 5: I've talked with our chief submission in the Western Hemisphere
- 34:46Speaker 5: across to Australia with respect to that, and saw the
- 34:48Speaker 5: news there about four or five months ago what Australia
- 34:51Speaker 5: did with respect to the IRGC. I would template that
- 34:54Speaker 5: really and get at the Muslim Brotherhood using that diplomatic approach.
- 34:59Speaker 5: That worked. That working, and there's more work to be done.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Let me be clear, with the IRGC and his Bollah
- 35:03Speaker 5: and Hamaus, but I would template that in our efforts
- 35:06Speaker 5: with the Muslim Brotherhood.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Terrific, very helpy, Thank you, thank you, sir.
- 35:10Speaker 1: You're here, your question there, and I want you to
- 35:13Speaker 1: just explain why this is so important center.
- 35:17Speaker 2: We need to be clear eyed. We need to be
- 35:18Speaker 2: clear eyed about the threats to America. The Muslim Brotherhood
- 35:22Speaker 2: is a radical jihadist global terror network. They are funding
- 35:27Speaker 2: Jahatis in countries across the globe and we are seeing
- 35:32Speaker 2: we started this podcast by talking about eighteen thousand terrorists
- 35:35Speaker 2: coming to this country. Enter Joe Biden. These are the
- 35:38Speaker 2: Muslim Brotherhood is deliberately promoting people who are seeking to
- 35:42Speaker 2: engage in act acts of terror. They're seeking to wage jihad.
- 35:47Speaker 2: And we need to be serious and clear eyed. And
- 35:49Speaker 2: I got to say there's some Republicans that are nervous
- 35:51Speaker 2: about this, but Donald Trump is not. And his designation
- 35:55Speaker 2: was historic, and I'm continuing to work hand in hand
- 35:58Speaker 2: with him to protect American to protect the American people
- 36:02Speaker 2: against the threat of the Muslim Brotherhood, against the threat
- 36:05Speaker 2: of Johns.
- 36:07Speaker 1: That's really important. We're going to keep covering it and
- 36:09Speaker 1: we'll keep giving you updated on it. Also, don't forget
- 36:13Speaker 1: share this podcast, this show wherever you can, follow us
- 36:16Speaker 1: on social media wherever you can as well, subscribe and
- 36:19Speaker 1: get every episode of verqu with Tech Cruise wherever you are,
- 36:22Speaker 1: and if you're listening on the radio, thank you for
- 36:23Speaker 1: joining us and we'll see you back here on this
- 36:25Speaker 1: radio station next week as well
