- 2:04Speaker 1: morning everybody, y'all listening to the voice come on dig
- 2:08Speaker 1: me naw one and only Steve Harley got a radio show.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I was. I had my head down and it was
- 2:17Speaker 1: thinking of what I wanted to say this morning. But
- 2:21Speaker 1: it kind of, uh, it's kind of be something I've
- 2:25Speaker 1: lived for a long time, and you know, for a
- 2:30Speaker 1: long time, you know, I had a lot of faith
- 2:32Speaker 1: in people. You know. It's strange too, because you know,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you know, my mother was a Sunday school teacher, so
- 2:39Speaker 1: of course I grew up around it, knowing the scriptures
- 2:43Speaker 1: and things like that. Not not a lot of them,
- 2:45Speaker 1: but you know, the ones I retained. But having her
- 2:50Speaker 1: as a mother was was a huge help and understand
- 2:53Speaker 1: about faith. But even with that, as I grew up,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I began to put a lot of faith in people.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And you know, I figured, you know, just like everybody else,
- 3:04Speaker 1: you know, man if I could just meet this person,
- 3:07Speaker 1: or if I could just sit down with that person,
- 3:10Speaker 1: or man if I could just get this person to
- 3:12Speaker 1: hear my ideal, or man if if this person could
- 3:16Speaker 1: hear my track, or man if I could just get
- 3:19Speaker 1: this in the hands or somebody in the know. I was,
- 3:23Speaker 1: like everybody else, I thought that way. You know, I
- 3:25Speaker 1: actually thought that if I could get in a certain
- 3:28Speaker 1: situation with a certain person, that if a certain person
- 3:31Speaker 1: were to meet me, that you know, it could change
- 3:35Speaker 1: everything for me. Oh man, Oh how wrong I was?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Oh how wrong I was? How long did I spend
- 3:44Speaker 1: feeling that way? And how many of you out there
- 3:47Speaker 1: possibly have felt that way before? You know, like even
- 3:50Speaker 1: in a relationship, this is the person for me, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: you know, you just lay claim to that, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: not necessarily being a fact, but you just lay claim
- 3:58Speaker 1: to it. This is the person for me, This is
- 4:01Speaker 1: the person that I want to spend the rest of
- 4:03Speaker 1: my life with. You know. Sometimes, you know, we just
- 4:05Speaker 1: lay claim to stuff and it's not always what's in
- 4:08Speaker 1: our best interest or it's not always a fact, it's
- 4:11Speaker 1: just what we decided we want it. And I was
- 4:14Speaker 1: guilty of that, just like anybody else. And I spent
- 4:17Speaker 1: a lot of years in my life putting faith in people. Man,
- 4:21Speaker 1: if I could tell you anything this morning, it's to
- 4:24Speaker 1: stop putting your faith in people and put your faith
- 4:27Speaker 1: in God where it counts the most. I mean, you
- 4:30Speaker 1: can get something out of this one. See, here's a
- 4:33Speaker 1: deal about a relationship with God. It's the same all
- 4:37Speaker 1: the time. He never changes. His word is one absolute.
- 4:42Speaker 1: His word doesn't have loopholes in it, none of that.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It's this is what it is. He's very clear. Now,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you can deviate off your end at a bargain, but
- 4:53Speaker 1: it don't stop what he says from being true. But
- 4:57Speaker 1: if he asked you to do something, if God asks
- 4:59Speaker 1: you to to be a certain way, to do a
- 5:01Speaker 1: little something a certain way, and you don't do it
- 5:03Speaker 1: that way, then you know you could still possibly get
- 5:08Speaker 1: by for a while. But don't you understand that his
- 5:12Speaker 1: end of the deal stays the same, and as long
- 5:14Speaker 1: as you're not doing it the way you're supposed to,
- 5:16Speaker 1: the results are not going to be what you wanted
- 5:19Speaker 1: to be. And I did this for years and years
- 5:21Speaker 1: and years, and I counted on people and you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I got myself in a lot of situations, and I
- 5:28Speaker 1: got out one a dire situation that I'd been in
- 5:31Speaker 1: for a number of years. But he had protected me
- 5:33Speaker 1: from years prior to that. I didn't even know what
- 5:35Speaker 1: was going on, and then he made it away. It
- 5:38Speaker 1: made me aware of the problem. And then, man, lord
- 5:42Speaker 1: ha mercy, I was in a dismal situation. And then
- 5:45Speaker 1: at the end of the year, I was free, free
- 5:48Speaker 1: from it all. But it was a decision that I
- 5:51Speaker 1: had made that led up to that, and in going
- 5:55Speaker 1: through that process, I had to learn something. Man. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: learned a lot about people. See, if you want to
- 6:01Speaker 1: learn about your friends, if you want to learn about
- 6:04Speaker 1: your people people around you, get yourself in some trouble,
- 6:08Speaker 1: get yourself in a situation. Oh man, you start looking around. Man,
- 6:13Speaker 1: the field get real clear when you're in trouble. The
- 6:16Speaker 1: field clear is out when you're in doubt, when you
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't know what to do, when you need help it
- 6:22Speaker 1: get real clear on the play and field. Then don't it. Ah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But when things is going right, it's time for a party.
- 6:28Speaker 1: We throw on a celebration. We were gonna We're gonna
- 6:32Speaker 1: do one down here. Oh man, there's plenty of people
- 6:34Speaker 1: on the field. But but but get yourself in a situation.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You find out rather quickly that old no, old no,
- 6:42Speaker 1: everybody ain't here. And that's when I started learning. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I had to start learning this for
- 6:48Speaker 1: real until I finally got it to stop putting my
- 6:51Speaker 1: faith in people and put all the mine in God
- 6:54Speaker 1: where it counts the most. Now is that to say
- 6:57Speaker 1: that there are people that you can't trust. No, that's
- 6:59Speaker 1: not what I'm saying. I ain't say you can't trust him,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but you can't dump your faith in him. I got
- 7:05Speaker 1: it all riding on what he say. I got it
- 7:08Speaker 1: all riding on what she say. Na, Na, No, I
- 7:15Speaker 1: hear you saying it. But I'm gonna keep my own
- 7:19Speaker 1: this situation because I hear you saying it. But I'm
- 7:22Speaker 1: gonna take this faith of mine and instead of putting
- 7:25Speaker 1: it in people, I'm gonna put it in God where
- 7:27Speaker 1: it counts the most. Because his word is absolute. What
- 7:31Speaker 1: he say he gonna do, he gonna do what he say.
- 7:33Speaker 1: He's not gonna tolerate. He's not gonna tolerate. Now, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: can make it, You can make it tolerable for yourself,
- 7:39Speaker 1: but he's not gonna tolerate it. And that's just the
- 7:41Speaker 1: end of the line. And so you know, I'm wondering
- 7:44Speaker 1: how many people out there find themselves in a situation
- 7:47Speaker 1: like me, or maybe you've gotten yourself in a situation
- 7:50Speaker 1: because you put your faith in some people and now
- 7:52Speaker 1: you wound up in a different type of situation. Now,
- 7:55Speaker 1: let me ask you, whetting people, at the only one
- 8:01Speaker 1: that I found when I was in my deepest trouble,
- 8:04Speaker 1: when me and my wife were in our darkest situation,
- 8:07Speaker 1: was God. It is the only one, was the only
- 8:11Speaker 1: one who was just right there, right there, all the
- 8:14Speaker 1: way through. Now, let me explain something to you. Because
- 8:21Speaker 1: you have this relationship with God, it does not mean,
- 8:25Speaker 1: it does not mean now that it won't get it
- 8:27Speaker 1: won't still be a situation, you understand. But what He
- 8:32Speaker 1: will do is protect you during that period. He'll cover
- 8:37Speaker 1: you during that period that it is a situation. He
- 8:41Speaker 1: will give you the strength to overcome the situation when
- 8:44Speaker 1: it turns into a situation. Then when he cracks it
- 8:48Speaker 1: open for you and the sun is bright and shining,
- 8:51Speaker 1: what he don't want you to do is when he
- 8:53Speaker 1: gets sunny again, to forget about him who was there
- 8:56Speaker 1: when it was dark for you. See, I used to
- 8:59Speaker 1: do that too, you know. I was Oh, man, I
- 9:02Speaker 1: did it. I'm telling you right now, I did it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But I'm telling you man, when I learned a very
- 9:08Speaker 1: serious lesson and I watched some people I thought were
- 9:11Speaker 1: friends of mine just sort of casually remove themselves from
- 9:17Speaker 1: the situation, then I said, okay. Me and Margie looked around.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We said, okay, it's just me, you and God. And
- 9:24Speaker 1: when we started conducting ourselves accordingly. So when it's sunny
- 9:29Speaker 1: for us, we remember God. We stay prayerful, we keep
- 9:33Speaker 1: talking to him. We thank him for the sunshine, we
- 9:36Speaker 1: thank him for the dark days that he allowed us
- 9:39Speaker 1: to do, who allowed us to survive it and turn
- 9:41Speaker 1: it into sunny days. And we talked to him constantly
- 9:44Speaker 1: to protect us of our future enemies. And that's what
- 9:47Speaker 1: the deal is. So if I was everybody, I would
- 9:50Speaker 1: stop putting your faith in people and put your trust
- 9:53Speaker 1: in God where it really does count the most, It
- 9:55Speaker 1: really really does. You're listening to, ladies and gentlemen, we
- 10:03Speaker 1: are here in this morning time. It is a time
- 10:07Speaker 1: for gratitude. It is a time to say out loud,
- 10:12Speaker 1: however you choose to say it. But please start your
- 10:16Speaker 1: day by saying thank you. I appreciate it. I shall
- 10:21Speaker 1: do appreciate another day that you have given me with
- 10:25Speaker 1: whatever measure of help you may have, the fact that
- 10:28Speaker 1: you are here means that you are still on time,
- 10:32Speaker 1: in time, and in some measure of health, and for
- 10:35Speaker 1: that alone you ought to be grateful. This is Steve
- 10:38Speaker 1: Harper Morning Show. Make no mistake about this now. And
- 10:42Speaker 1: if you don't like the way that show started right there,
- 10:44Speaker 1: it's something wrong with you. How can you not be
- 10:49Speaker 1: okay with saying thank you when you didn't have nothing
- 10:53Speaker 1: to do with waking yourself up this morning? It was
- 10:58Speaker 1: not your alarm clock. Do you understand that, you know
- 11:01Speaker 1: a lot of people's alarm gonna go off this morning
- 11:03Speaker 1: and they're not gonna They're not gonna answer it. A
- 11:07Speaker 1: lot of people alarm clock will go off this morning
- 11:10Speaker 1: and they will not answer you. You heard George, You

- 13:26Speaker 1: me what I do to others. Okay, but wait a minute, Steve,
- 13:30Speaker 1: of course you want to be with her. That goes

- 16:36Speaker 1: I never liked the hell of getting on the box anywhere.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I told the wild ass, I say, you know, you're
- 16:41Speaker 1: gonna piss a lot of black people off when the
- 16:43Speaker 1: bandanna and everything talking about some slf and pancakes. Good
- 16:48Speaker 1: thing we got it off in time for black history.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Changed it till what there's a white woman on the box? Now,
- 16:55Speaker 1: oh god, what car? Uh? No, man, it's a pearl.
- 17:06Speaker 1: The Pearl Milling Company, Pearl Milling Company. They put a
- 17:11Speaker 1: pearl bailey on a pancake. No, well, why not? They're

- 17:43Speaker 1: the Pearl Milling Company, you know, they they're the ones
- 17:45Speaker 1: who created it in the first place. Where as they're
- 17:48Speaker 1: taking uncle being off the rice. Yah, perhaps yes, uh,
- 17:55Speaker 1: they're gonna put a white man on the rice, and
- 17:56Speaker 1: they're gonna put a white woman on the pancake, and
- 17:59Speaker 1: a come, they're gonna close what white man? You don't
- 18:05Speaker 1: know how to make? Right? Have you? Ever heard a
- 18:11Speaker 1: white man. I'm just asking Butterworth, there's butter work out here.
- 18:18Speaker 1: She might be stepping down. Well, you know it's Butterworth.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I didn't know that was that fictitious boyster. Where are
- 18:29Speaker 1: you looking for? And that's what's a pancake lady? What's cool? Sister?
- 18:37Speaker 1: Because I take missus Ja Mama, Jamama Jack, Mama Jamma Jack.
- 18:44Speaker 1: That's her sister, Butterworth. They all got in the pancake
- 18:49Speaker 1: business at the same time black history. I didn't know
- 18:53Speaker 1: she didn't things. You don't know. I know because I
- 18:55Speaker 1: know these people. Yeah, how did you mean an' jr? Mima?
- 19:01Speaker 1: I made ain't Jemima. We was down there at we
- 19:04Speaker 1: was in a cooking contest, and uh they he had
- 19:08Speaker 1: a white man back of her. You know. So she
- 19:11Speaker 1: had a whole kitchen and everything, you know, just just
- 19:14Speaker 1: turning out products. And she just turned out more products
- 19:18Speaker 1: than the rest of us. And then they gave her
- 19:20Speaker 1: own pancake mix. And then they told her they took
- 19:23Speaker 1: the pancake mix and just made her the face. Then
- 19:26Speaker 1: she wouldn't got a fat ass system. That's how they
- 19:28Speaker 1: came up with the said for the word butter word Butterworth.
- 19:33Speaker 1: All right, now, now we can Her name is Bathesma,
- 19:38Speaker 1: but so they called a Butterworth. Oh this ain't funny
- 19:44Speaker 1: to call it. Oh you go, I see you're preping
- 19:48Speaker 1: your little lips something because you don't like to hear
- 19:50Speaker 1: the truth about history. Oh that's the truth. And if
- 19:57Speaker 1: he's Titian, then who was? I'm pissing out? Stay with us?

- 22:39Speaker 1: that gift card should really be for my wife, and
- 22:42Speaker 1: I was trying to see it. Maybe if you get

- 22:48Speaker 1: Oh okay, so you said you said my wife flowers
- 22:52Speaker 1: for Valentine's Day? Right, yeah? Yeah, But that that's not
- 22:55Speaker 1: the key. The key is that it's a gift card
- 22:58Speaker 1: in there that I need. You know, accidentally sent a
- 23:01Speaker 1: gift card and my wife. You just want the flowers
- 23:04Speaker 1: to go to her. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

- 23:11Speaker 1: that's cool man. I'm this happens and we make mistakes
- 23:14Speaker 1: all the time. How about this, how about you come
- 23:16Speaker 1: on over and I will be more than happy to
- 23:19Speaker 1: give you the gift card because I'm sure you know
- 23:21Speaker 1: if you send with the flowers all, I'll just have
- 23:23Speaker 1: to hand those that the gift card over to you,
- 23:25Speaker 1: ain't and probably a nice uh speeding to you, stupid mother.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Why enough would you ever call me about this? Hey man?
- 23:34Speaker 1: And I didn't expect I didn't expect all this, Alvin,
- 23:36Speaker 1: is it out hostility? Hey? Bro? All I'm trying to
- 23:41Speaker 1: do with Like I said, I said, I ain't your bro.
- 23:44Speaker 1: What do you mean you're doing? You didn't think there's
- 23:46Speaker 1: gonna be host You send my good white flowers? Mother,
- 23:49Speaker 1: But how do you even know my wife? How do
- 23:50Speaker 1: you know trash? How do you know trait? I work

- 23:55Speaker 1: You work with her? Okay, good, you don't work I
- 23:57Speaker 1: don't work with her. I don't work for her company
- 23:59Speaker 1: at all. But my you know, my floor is on
- 24:01Speaker 1: a different floor. I work in a different company, but
- 24:03Speaker 1: she works she works in the same building. So yeah, dude,
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get the gift card. Man. I
- 24:08Speaker 1: ain't even trying to trip dude, I ain't. So let me.
- 24:12Speaker 1: So you sent some flowers when the flower's gonna be here.

- 24:26Speaker 1: and I will give the flowers a tresh and I
- 24:28Speaker 1: will give you the gift cards. And you mentioned if
- 24:31Speaker 1: I was half flack or half white, and I'll go
- 24:34Speaker 1: ahead and let you know that both sides are gonna
- 24:37Speaker 1: beat your mother, because you're gonna be the most ignorant
- 24:40Speaker 1: mother I've ever met in my guy Like, I don't
- 24:43Speaker 1: care if you're green, blue, yellow, lavender, I don't know

- 25:01Speaker 1: treds to you guys wanting for the lunch or you know,
- 25:03Speaker 1: maybe a movie or I mean, how much how much
- 25:06Speaker 1: time have you spent with my wife? I ain't, I ain't,
- 25:09Speaker 1: I ain't spend no time with her? Why are you
- 25:11Speaker 1: set her that? What do you mean you ain't spend
- 25:13Speaker 1: no time with it? How you you seem to know
- 25:15Speaker 1: all about her? You haven't gone out one time with

- 25:24Speaker 1: them your bulls her? Is that what I didn't? Actually
- 25:27Speaker 1: I didn't actually dentally send the flower. I sent him
- 25:29Speaker 1: because I wanted her to have. She's a pretty she's
- 25:31Speaker 1: a pretty lady. I wanted her to have the flowers,
- 25:34Speaker 1: but I didn't want her to but I didn't want
- 25:35Speaker 1: her to have my wife's gift card? Though? What did
- 25:37Speaker 1: you think I was gonna be there? How did you think?
- 25:39Speaker 1: How did it in your fucking crazy bulls mine? Did
- 25:43Speaker 1: you think this this was gonna be? Okay? What if
- 25:45Speaker 1: I called you right now, I'm like, hey, I set
- 25:47Speaker 1: your wife? Can you send it back to me? How
- 25:51Speaker 1: would you feel if I did the same to you? Well,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I mean, you're talking about something different from flowers, and
- 25:56Speaker 1: that seems that sounds like a little bit offensive. Don't
- 25:58Speaker 1: you think? Oh, oh, that's defensive. Yeah, man, you know,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Albert. You're is Albert. It's not Albert, it's Albert.

- 26:17Speaker 1: of my can life? Come visit me. He sent the
- 26:20Speaker 1: flowers to the house, right, I got the address that
- 26:23Speaker 1: Tommy gave me. Who the is Tommy? He the one
- 26:27Speaker 1: gave me the address he once told me, Tommy, Come,
- 26:30Speaker 1: how about you and Tommy come over to the house.
- 26:32Speaker 1: We'll have a we'll have a guys that I'll put

- 26:41Speaker 1: a hostility when somebody's showing your wife's No, there's no
- 26:44Speaker 1: hostility whatsoever that you hear hostile. I just invited you

- 27:08Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This is not to
- 27:11Speaker 1: see Harry Morrish. This is nephew timme me baby, come home, Bryce.
- 27:18Speaker 1: This is Nephew timing from the Steve Harvey morn Show.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Your wife Trish got me to prank phone call you

- 27:54Speaker 1: gotta tell me, Bryce, what is the baddest and I
- 27:56Speaker 1: mean the baddest radio show in the land above the
- 28:00Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Bay And now you have it, ladies and gentlemen.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Stupid and it's best gift car It's best. Yeah that's
- 28:12Speaker 1: what he said too, Yeah about I love him? Man,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Why don't you come on over him? Because you asked
- 28:26Speaker 1: me was I'm bixed? Right? And the black and the
- 28:29Speaker 1: white side, both of them gonna kick your okay, so
- 28:36Speaker 1: you bought my wife some flowers though, right, okay, okay,
- 28:39Speaker 1: and you put you up a gift card. Okay. Hey, hey,
- 28:43Speaker 1: hey man, what's with all the hostility? All right? We
- 28:48Speaker 1: got national and entertainment news at the top of the hour.
- 28:52Speaker 1: You're listening to show. We're all still so sad to
- 28:58Speaker 1: hear about the passing of Supremes founder Mary Wilson. Mary
- 29:03Speaker 1: died suddenly Monday Monday evening at her home in Las Vegas.
- 29:07Speaker 1: According to her longtime friend and publicist Jay Schwartz, she
- 29:11Speaker 1: was seventy six years old. Mary, along with Diana Ross
- 29:15Speaker 1: and a late Florence Ballard, co founded the Supremes and
- 29:18Speaker 1: a Detroit housing project when they were just fifteen years old.
- 29:22Speaker 1: This was back in the sixties. While Diana and Florence
- 29:26Speaker 1: left the group, Mary stayed until the end. In nineteen
- 29:29Speaker 1: seventy seven, Diana Ross everyone had something to say, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: Barry Gordy, Motown founder, released a statement saying I was
- 29:38Speaker 1: extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of
- 29:41Speaker 1: a major member of the Motown family, Mary Wilson of
- 29:44Speaker 1: the Supremes. The Supremes were always known as the Sweethearts
- 29:48Speaker 1: of Motown. Mary, along with Diana and Florence, came to Motown.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Like I said, back in the early sixties after an
- 29:55Speaker 1: unprecedented string of number one hits, television and nightclub bookings.
- 30:00Speaker 1: They opened doors for themselves, the other Motown acts and
- 30:03Speaker 1: so many more. Man. Yeah, I mean you know, Dinna
- 30:07Speaker 1: Ross and the Supremes was the original girl group girl group. Yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 1: because before them that were female acts in groups. But
- 30:18Speaker 1: I think I think, well, in my lifetime, the Supremes
- 30:23Speaker 1: was the first one to get out there on a
- 30:26Speaker 1: national level. It was doing TV, Ed Sullivan and all
- 30:30Speaker 1: of that. Yeah. Yeah, they were right where the first Yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 1: and then they were next level though girl group. They
- 30:39Speaker 1: were so fabulous and beautiful and that spawned all of
- 30:44Speaker 1: these in vogue. Yeah, that's w child, the girls emotions,
- 30:54Speaker 1: that name emotions. Yea, let me tell you something. The girls,
- 31:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, thank god, thank you. Quit playing with them now,
- 31:04Speaker 1: the Jones girls, all of yeah, all of the girls.
- 31:07Speaker 1: You've gone. Girls. Don't make me love somebody else. Keep
- 31:12Speaker 1: on you keep her treating me the way you don't
- 31:15Speaker 1: do it. I don't want to do it. Man. Yeah,
- 31:20Speaker 1: baby loves stuffing the name of love. Where did my
- 31:23Speaker 1: love go those? H Yeah? Absolutely. Mary Wilson leaves behind
- 31:29Speaker 1: a daughter, a son, and seven grandchildren. In addition, she
- 31:33Speaker 1: survived by a sister, a brother, cousin, three grandchildren, and
- 31:37Speaker 1: a great grandchild. Our deepest condolences going out to the
- 31:40Speaker 1: Wilson family. Yeah, but you're right, Steve. The Supremes, they
- 31:47Speaker 1: they broke barriers. You know. It was yeah, because I
- 31:53Speaker 1: love the Temptations so much, so I used to just
- 31:55Speaker 1: love they at the same time they was Motown, yes, sir, Yeah, yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 1: but see Motown had a stand. Yeah, you had to.
- 32:12Speaker 1: When you signed with Barry Gordy, they taught you how
- 32:16Speaker 1: to be a star. You know, you had to follow rouge.
- 32:19Speaker 1: You had to you had to do things the Motown way.
- 32:23Speaker 1: You had to dress a certain way, to a certain
- 32:25Speaker 1: kind of way to do interviews, choreography. Because they met kings. Yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 1: they met kings and queens. You know they really you know,
- 32:35Speaker 1: they were all over in England with the Queen and
- 32:38Speaker 1: all that stuff. So they had to know, you know,
- 32:40Speaker 1: proper protocol and all of that. So yeah, they don't
- 32:44Speaker 1: make a woman. Well, it's time for news. Everybody here,
- 32:50Speaker 1: it is miss and Trip. Thank you very much, everybody.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Good morning. Former President Donald Trump's second in peachment trial
- 32:58Speaker 1: gets underway later today after a Republican senators joined with
- 33:01Speaker 1: the Democrats in deciding that it is constitutional try the
- 33:05Speaker 1: final president on charges of inciting insurrection. On January sixth,
- 33:09Speaker 1: Democratic impeachment manager and Congressman Joan A. Goose said he
- 33:12Speaker 1: was there. What we experienced that day, what our country
- 33:17Speaker 1: experienced that day is the framer's worst nightmare come to life.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Presidents can't inflame insurrection in their final weeks and then
- 33:27Speaker 1: walk away like nothing happened. And yet that is the
- 33:30Speaker 1: rule that President Trump asks you to adopt. Trump's legal
- 33:34Speaker 1: team argued that, well, whatever the President said, even if
- 33:37Speaker 1: it might have been a little reckless, that it only
- 33:40Speaker 1: amounted to free speech. But impatient manager and Congressman Davis
- 33:43Speaker 1: Cicillini said that free speech is one thing. This situation
- 33:47Speaker 1: was something different. Plenty of other politicians have used strong language,
- 33:50Speaker 1: but Donald J. Trump was president of the United States,
- 33:54Speaker 1: and he said that made a big difference. The final
- 33:57Speaker 1: Senate vote was fifty six to forty four in favor
- 34:00Speaker 1: of starting. The trial is going to start at around
- 34:02Speaker 1: noontime today Eastern time. Both sides will get each of
- 34:05Speaker 1: them will get sixteen hours like two days, basically low
- 34:08Speaker 1: over two days to make their case for conviction or acquittal.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Donald Trump was reportedly not watching the proceedings when he
- 34:15Speaker 1: was asked earlier he's not watching. He's not watching, But
- 34:17Speaker 1: of course he was, and he says he's very very
- 34:20Speaker 1: He said to be very, very angry and very I mean,
- 34:22Speaker 1: like angry is like a mild word to describe how
- 34:24Speaker 1: he apparently feels. President Biden, meanwhile, is said not to
- 34:27Speaker 1: be paying attention to the impeachment travel but rather knuckling
- 34:30Speaker 1: down on his quote American rescue plan. The President still
- 34:33Speaker 1: holding firm on wanting struggling Americans to get fourteen hundred
- 34:36Speaker 1: dollar COVID stimulus checks. He wants to make sure he
- 34:38Speaker 1: keeps it to middle class people and not rich people.
- 34:42Speaker 1: The National Transportation Safety Board says that pilot error was
- 34:46Speaker 1: responsible for the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter,
- 34:50Speaker 1: and six other people last year. The NTSB says the
- 34:53Speaker 1: pilot was prohibited by federal regulations to penetrate the cloud.
- 34:57Speaker 1: He wasn't supposed to do that, but the pilot, they said,
- 34:59Speaker 1: intended to go up and over the clouds. He said
- 35:02Speaker 1: he was going to do that, but he apparently he
- 35:03Speaker 1: became disoriented once he got in the clouds and ended
- 35:06Speaker 1: up crashing into a hillside below in Ohio and now
- 35:09Speaker 1: fired white Columbus police officer claiming innocence and a point
- 35:13Speaker 1: blank killing of an unarmed black man named Andre Hill.
- 35:16Speaker 1: The judges said bail for this cop or former cop
- 35:19Speaker 1: at three million dollars. A court record show Adam Coy,
- 35:21Speaker 1: charged at one count each of murder and felonious, has
- 35:24Speaker 1: sold two counts of dereliction of duty. And it was
- 35:27Speaker 1: Mary Mary Wilson yesterday and sad news. We've also lost
- 35:31Speaker 1: boxing champ Leon Spinks, who'd been fighting prostitate and other
- 35:34Speaker 1: cancers for months. You know, he beat Muhammad Ali for
- 35:37Speaker 1: the championship back in nineteen seventy eight. It was an
- 35:45Speaker 1: incredible upset. Leon Spinks, though, was only sixty seven years old.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Now back to Steve Harvey warning show. You're listening to
- 35:52Speaker 1: Steve Harvey show. All right, here's an update on Tethica Brown.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Remember Tethica Brown. She's the woman who put gorilla glue, yes,
- 36:02Speaker 1: gorilla glue in her hair to slick it down because
- 36:06Speaker 1: she didn't have any more of her spray that she
- 36:09Speaker 1: normally uses. She's getting help now. Well, she finally cut
- 36:15Speaker 1: off her ponytail, but her scalp keeps hardening, and so
- 36:23Speaker 1: here's some good news in this story. She's meeting with
- 36:25Speaker 1: a Beverly Hills doctor who says he can remove the
- 36:29Speaker 1: rest of the gorilla glue off her hair. Tessica also
- 36:33Speaker 1: spoke to TMZ about her haters, saying she put her
- 36:36Speaker 1: ordeal on social media to cash out and to chase
- 36:40Speaker 1: Cloud take a listen, and they got some people out
- 36:44Speaker 1: there saying, oh, well she did this for cold. I
- 36:47Speaker 1: wouldn't have never put this on my head. Oh well,
- 36:49Speaker 1: let's see, I mean the followers. I guess never. I
- 36:52Speaker 1: put it on social media to get help. That was it.
- 36:55Speaker 1: That was it. I didn't think for one second. I
- 36:57Speaker 1: look get up the next morning and that many people
- 37:00Speaker 1: looked at this. Never never thought it was gonna get
- 37:02Speaker 1: this far. Well, I believe that. I mean, she she
- 37:07Speaker 1: wanted to Yeah, she wanted to help people. Don't do
- 37:09Speaker 1: this at home. Yeah, she wanted to help people. She
- 37:12Speaker 1: wanted to get help. She well, she said in that
- 37:15Speaker 1: particular moment, in that interview, which was with TMZ, that
- 37:18Speaker 1: she wanted to get help. She wanted suggestions and people
- 37:22Speaker 1: to you know, maybe this could work or that could work.
- 37:25Speaker 1: She was desperate. Of course, I'm okay with her doing
- 37:29Speaker 1: this video. I don't believe she did it far attention
- 37:33Speaker 1: that you you can't because she could not help. Nobody
- 37:36Speaker 1: gonna put themselves out there like that trying to get
- 37:38Speaker 1: no followers. I believe a young sister, you know, and
- 37:41Speaker 1: and she looked in pain. But but like I said,
- 37:44Speaker 1: you know, you ain't got to put this on here
- 37:46Speaker 1: to tell nobody to try to the house, you know,
- 37:48Speaker 1: I want to find something to do permanently to my
- 37:50Speaker 1: mustash ain't got to worry about it no more. But
- 37:53Speaker 1: it won't be in home depot, right. Yes, I won't
- 37:59Speaker 1: go down the dude dude to do that because that's
- 38:02Speaker 1: not as sallis. Now. If there is a product called
- 38:05Speaker 1: Gorilla Snot, yes, it is a hair product. Yeah, that's
- 38:10Speaker 1: that's at home. Yeah, yeah, that's in the hair eye. Yes. Yes,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I don't want to buy nothing with snot in the title.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't want that. It's just a really
- 38:21Speaker 1: don't it's well, I don't want to buy nothing with
- 38:26Speaker 1: glue and the title you did at my head? Yeah,
- 38:34Speaker 1: coming up in thirty four minutes after the hour, a
- 38:37Speaker 1: quick round of ask the Cllo right after this. You're
- 38:40Speaker 1: listening to show, all right, Steve, it's time. Now we're
- 38:46Speaker 1: gonna do a quick round of ask the Clotty, sir.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Let's works all right. This one is from anonymous in Brooklyn.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I am a thirty eight year old man and I'm
- 38:57Speaker 1: dating a thirty six year old divorce woman. We've been
- 39:01Speaker 1: dating two months and we had an m depth conversation
- 39:05Speaker 1: recently about our past. She asked me how many sexual
- 39:09Speaker 1: partners I've had. I was honest and told her my number.
- 39:14Speaker 1: She told me she's been with nine men. She told
- 39:20Speaker 1: me she got married in twenty two at the age
- 39:22Speaker 1: of twenty two, and her husband was the first man
- 39:25Speaker 1: she'd ever been with and she never cheated on him.
- 39:28Speaker 1: She's been divorced four years, so that means she's had
- 39:33Speaker 1: sex with eight men in four years. Done. Girl, That
- 39:37Speaker 1: seems a bit excessive to me. Isn't her body count
- 39:42Speaker 1: too high? I have said this to women. It's too
- 39:47Speaker 1: late for a minute, but I have told women this
- 39:49Speaker 1: number when a man asked you how many sexual partners
- 39:55Speaker 1: you have had, and you have to give a number.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Your maximum number is three dot. Don't give a damn
- 40:07Speaker 1: if you work at Magic City in the back room,
- 40:13Speaker 1: whatever happening back there in the in the back room,
- 40:19Speaker 1: and you having conversations after the dance is over, I
- 40:22Speaker 1: don't care what. I don't give a damn if you
- 40:25Speaker 1: work after massage Paula doing way more than massage. When
- 40:30Speaker 1: a man asked you, what is your number? Your max
- 40:33Speaker 1: is three two two very bad mistakes you made a
- 40:38Speaker 1: marriage and one more and you regret it deeply. If
- 40:43Speaker 1: you're twenty five, that's your number. If you thirty five
- 40:47Speaker 1: three forty five three three, don't not have no honest
- 40:53Speaker 1: ass conversation, No man you've been with, no damn nine man,
- 40:57Speaker 1: shut your ass up. And I don't know how dog, well,
- 41:01Speaker 1: I don't know what number he gave her, but it
- 41:04Speaker 1: was way more than nine, which is what made her
- 41:06Speaker 1: comfortable saying that right exactly. Oh well, let me call
- 41:13Speaker 1: it because you know, because like, okay, like you just

- 41:38Speaker 1: It's a lot of stuff stay in the dog, and

- 41:53Speaker 1: in DC. I'm a fifty two year old single woman
- 41:56Speaker 1: and I recently had sex with my brother in law.
- 41:59Speaker 1: He walked the end or my sister having sex with
- 42:04Speaker 1: their manny at home, and then he came running to
- 42:08Speaker 1: my house to tell me what happened. We had a
- 42:11Speaker 1: few drinks, he got touchy feely, and then we had sex.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I felt terrible and I told my sister everything. She
- 42:19Speaker 1: said she didn't care. I told my brother in law
- 42:21Speaker 1: to stay away from me, but he won't stop begging
- 42:24Speaker 1: for more. My best girlfriend told me that if the
- 42:27Speaker 1: sex was good and my sister doesn't care, then definitely
- 42:32Speaker 1: go back for seconds. What do you think that's some
- 42:35Speaker 1: bad advice? Wow? Okay, I don't know who your girlfriend is,
- 42:39Speaker 1: but you feel weird because you're sleeping with your sister's husband.
- 42:46Speaker 1: You wasn't supposed to do it. In the first place.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I don't care what Two wrongs don't make it right

- 42:59Speaker 1: wife's sleeping the manny? Why why? First of all, if
- 43:03Speaker 1: I come in the house, nanny is a man nanny man.
- 43:08Speaker 1: If I walk in the house and my wife's sleeping
- 43:10Speaker 1: with the manny, it's gonna be hard for me to
- 43:13Speaker 1: do anything. You can interview me downtown behind that glass.
- 43:17Speaker 1: But yeah, it's gonna be all type of yellow tape around.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Is damn how choking. They're gonna be picking shells out
- 43:24Speaker 1: of plywood. They're gonna be picked man far to two

- 45:07Speaker 1: And if you don't mind. I know it's a little
- 45:10Speaker 1: different type of question, but if you don't mind, how

- 45:23Speaker 1: have him in our custody. Him where we have him
- 45:26Speaker 1: in our custody right now here our headquarters at HPP.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So what heck? What is what is then? HPP? Ma'am?
- 45:33Speaker 1: HPP is Husband Protection Program? Husband protection? I've never I've
- 45:40Speaker 1: never heard of such a thing. Why why is he there? Well?
- 45:43Speaker 1: The problem we have and we've been getting some actual
- 45:45Speaker 1: complaints or whatnot, and not necessarily from him, but that
- 45:49Speaker 1: you've been bullying your husband. Okay, you know what. I'm
- 45:52Speaker 1: at my job and I'm gonna need you to hold
- 45:53Speaker 1: all one second so I can go in here. What
- 46:00Speaker 1: what what did you say? Have you and uh Sean
- 46:03Speaker 1: had any arguments at all lately? How we had we're married?
- 46:07Speaker 1: Have we had arguments? Of course, you had arguments? What
- 46:09Speaker 1: what does guy have to do with anything? Have you
- 46:11Speaker 1: guys had any altercation? Any altercation. Yes, what kind of altercations?
- 46:16Speaker 1: Have you been bullying your husband in a physical way?
- 46:19Speaker 1: How I've been bullying him? Bullying him? You've been have
- 46:23Speaker 1: you been happened to bullying him? For somebody to turn
- 46:27Speaker 1: in and give us some who? Who? Who? Who? You
- 46:31Speaker 1: need to talk to him? I can't put him on
- 46:34Speaker 1: This is what I'm talking about. When this is we're
- 46:35Speaker 1: talking about. You called me at my gas put off
- 46:38Speaker 1: like an htt crash and thenbody turn somebody in for
- 46:41Speaker 1: some arguments. We're married. Who do you freaking know who's
- 46:44Speaker 1: married and does not argue? I understand you mad, but
- 46:47Speaker 1: it is my job to protect husbands that are getting
- 46:50Speaker 1: bully fight and wise. This is okay, Let me speak
- 46:57Speaker 1: to him. I'm not at liberty and let you speak
- 46:58Speaker 1: to him right now. To you what you're not And
- 47:00Speaker 1: it was bullying me as well, and I'm trying to
- 47:02Speaker 1: bully you. I want to know what coming old? And
- 47:04Speaker 1: why do you calling me? And my dad was some
- 47:06Speaker 1: crap about him being at some headquarters with ahppy app
- 47:09Speaker 1: isn't a hunt of AHPP and my husband's I need
- 47:11Speaker 1: protecting from anybody's sucking that make it is a husband
- 47:13Speaker 1: protection program you've been bullying your husband. You've been using
- 47:17Speaker 1: bad language with y'all. Got to tuck him. My husband
- 47:25Speaker 1: when he said I do, he said I do. That's
- 47:26Speaker 1: whatever she said to me. Whenever he talks about how
- 47:28Speaker 1: iris he said this, and never he gets and if
- 47:30Speaker 1: he has the problems with arguing me, sitty to start
- 47:32Speaker 1: his craft and he won't being an argument and you
- 47:34Speaker 1: tell him that, you see, this is what we're talking about.
- 47:37Speaker 1: This is why he's been picked up today and brought
- 47:39Speaker 1: into our custody so that he would be definitely protected
- 47:42Speaker 1: from you. You know what if he needs a protection
- 47:44Speaker 1: and he's in your custody, as you can keep him there.
- 47:46Speaker 1: How that, Well, here's what we're gonna do. Somebody's gonna
- 47:49Speaker 1: be picking you up, bringing you in so we can
- 47:50Speaker 1: have a conversation. Bringing me now there. What what do
- 47:54Speaker 1: you think this is? We're bringing you in so we
- 47:56Speaker 1: can have a conversation with you. Let me explain something
- 47:59Speaker 1: to you, ma'am. We will be bringing you in having
- 48:01Speaker 1: a conversation. What are you ringing the shot with you?
- 48:04Speaker 1: You're gonna be coming in and you're gonna do it
- 48:07Speaker 1: company where we go anywhere anybody want to are you
- 48:10Speaker 1: physically or mentally abusing your husband. You know what, you
- 48:13Speaker 1: don't have to pick me up? Tell me where you
- 48:14Speaker 1: I will come to you want to pick me up,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I will. I will come down there. I will hand
- 48:17Speaker 1: you you in him. At the same time you tell
- 48:19Speaker 1: me where you as out? We ain't. I'm going to
- 48:22Speaker 1: ask you a serious question. Is it sounds like a
- 48:24Speaker 1: consequence of he doesn't listen to you. They see a consequence?
- 48:27Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, what are you doing? Are you're
- 48:29Speaker 1: treating your husband like a child? What are you doing
- 48:31Speaker 1: to him? I asking like a pill? You treat you
- 48:33Speaker 1: like a chat. If he's the problem with how I
- 48:35Speaker 1: see him, you talk to him about he asks. Let
- 48:37Speaker 1: me ask you something, miss Morgan. What do you do
- 48:39Speaker 1: for a letter ahead of secharity at this building and
- 48:42Speaker 1: about to cross the charity on me because I'm loud
- 48:44Speaker 1: in this room? Because you're head of security, so you
- 48:47Speaker 1: don't know all about putting people in choke calls and
- 48:49Speaker 1: and how to apprehend the person. Don't that is my job? Yes?
- 48:52Speaker 1: I did? So are you doing that at home? What?
- 48:55Speaker 1: I'm not gonna tell you again? I don't harm that
- 48:58Speaker 1: man in any way, nor I ever. What I ever,
- 49:01Speaker 1: nor has he needs. He needs to get him behind
- 49:04Speaker 1: in his car and got to work. We have builds,
- 49:06Speaker 1: some things. Don't have time for this crack. I got
- 49:08Speaker 1: one more thing I need to say to you. Are
- 49:09Speaker 1: you're listening? You have nothing to say to me, but
- 49:11Speaker 1: did you want to put my husband it's trying to
- 49:13Speaker 1: Let me talk to him about this, Shan, sit down,
- 49:16Speaker 1: sit down, Sean, get him hitting him the phone. Let
- 49:19Speaker 1: me talks. I need to understand what had I got it.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Let me finish the talk conversation with Okay, no, you
- 49:25Speaker 1: don't need to sindish. Let me finish on his phi
- 49:27Speaker 1: on the phone. Hello, I have one more thing to

- 53:18Speaker 1: be reading your letter live on the air, just like
- 53:20Speaker 1: we're going to read this one right here, right now.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Buggle up and hold on time. We got it for
- 53:26Speaker 1: you here. It is the Strawberry Letter subject, He's too
- 53:31Speaker 1: bougie for my church. All right, Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm
- 53:35Speaker 1: a forty six year old woman, and I need your advice.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I'm dealing with the man i'm dating. He was the
- 53:40Speaker 1: first in his family to graduate college and now he
- 53:43Speaker 1: is a successful doctor with his own private practice. I'm
- 53:47Speaker 1: a doctor too, and I work in a public health clinic,
- 53:50Speaker 1: which is not in the safest community. My boyfriend loves
- 53:54Speaker 1: to joke about me working in the hood. He is
- 53:57Speaker 1: opinionated and arrogant at times, and to dry it was
- 54:00Speaker 1: me crazy. I should have known better, but I took
- 54:03Speaker 1: him to my parents' church anniversary service last week and
- 54:06Speaker 1: it did not go well. I drove and picked him up,
- 54:10Speaker 1: and as I turned into the neighborhood, he asked why
- 54:13Speaker 1: we were heading to the ghetto. He saw the church
- 54:16Speaker 1: and commented that he should not have worn an expensive
- 54:18Speaker 1: suit and shoes, and he hopes no one breaks in
- 54:21Speaker 1: my car while we're inside. I rolled my eyes at
- 54:24Speaker 1: him and told him to chill. During the service, one
- 54:28Speaker 1: of the older members of the church read a Bible
- 54:30Speaker 1: verse and my man corrected him under his breath. An
- 54:34Speaker 1: older lady motion for my man to be quiet. Then
- 54:37Speaker 1: pastor spoke and he started mispronouncing names from the Bible
- 54:42Speaker 1: and hollering and sweating, and my man chuckled out loud
- 54:45Speaker 1: several times, and I had to nudge him to stop.
- 54:49Speaker 1: At the end of the service, the pastor came to
- 54:51Speaker 1: say hi to me, and he said he couldn't wait
- 54:53Speaker 1: to meet the rude person I brought with me. My
- 54:57Speaker 1: man didn't mind being called rude, nor did he try
- 55:00Speaker 1: to be polite. He told pastor the church needs to
- 55:03Speaker 1: get security for the parking lot and only let members
- 55:06Speaker 1: that can read well do the scriptures and announcements. He
- 55:10Speaker 1: embarrassed me so badly that I almost broke up with him.
- 55:14Speaker 1: What's funny is that he's from the worst hood in town.
- 55:18Speaker 1: So why why is he like this? Is this something
- 55:22Speaker 1: he can change? Well, you know right now reading this letter,
- 55:28Speaker 1: the only thing he needs to change is you. I mean,
- 55:31Speaker 1: you need to wake up and realize that you can
- 55:33Speaker 1: do much better than this guy. And it's always these
- 55:36Speaker 1: kinds of guys, you know, they forget where they come from. You.
- 55:40Speaker 1: I think they're better now because he's a doctor in
- 55:43Speaker 1: doing well and all of that. So now he's looking
- 55:46Speaker 1: down at everyone else. I mean, why would he go
- 55:48Speaker 1: to church and embarrass you like that and be rude
- 55:51Speaker 1: to the pastor and correct every I mean, who does
- 55:53Speaker 1: he think he is? And in a relationship the priority
- 55:59Speaker 1: should be you. Okay, you should be a priority. He
- 56:03Speaker 1: acts as if you and whatever you got going on
- 56:06Speaker 1: is just so beneath him. You know why am I here?
- 56:09Speaker 1: Oh you need security? Why are we going to the hood? Well,
- 56:13Speaker 1: that's where you came from. Something worse than this. Okay,
- 56:17Speaker 1: you're a doctor too. I just want you to remind
- 56:20Speaker 1: you that you are a doctor too, and you don't
- 56:23Speaker 1: act like that. His problem, like I said, is he
- 56:26Speaker 1: forgot where he came from, and instead of trying to
- 56:28Speaker 1: help the community and being a shining example to them
- 56:31Speaker 1: of you can get out, you can become a doctor.
- 56:33Speaker 1: You can, you know, and maybe going back and helping
- 56:35Speaker 1: some of the people in the community, you know, do something.
- 56:40Speaker 1: He's looking down on them, he's being rude to them,
- 56:42Speaker 1: he's turned his back on them, he's being nasty to them,
- 56:45Speaker 1: and he's making the slide snide remarks and comments to you.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I don't know how you can put up with this.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I'm sure you can do better. And you know, he
- 56:56Speaker 1: needs to just move on. I just think he needs
- 56:58Speaker 1: to move on. You need to let him go and
- 57:01Speaker 1: let him know why you're letting him go. Wow, let
- 57:07Speaker 1: me just start by This doctor that you're dating is
- 57:14Speaker 1: atypical of what happens. See, a lot of people think
- 57:20Speaker 1: that their current position removes them from their former past.
- 57:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that again. There are a lot of
- 57:32Speaker 1: people who think that their current position in life removes
- 57:37Speaker 1: them from their past. The problem that they fail to
- 57:44Speaker 1: realize it. When you become successful, it is your past.
- 57:50Speaker 1: It is that that you were that helped you become
- 57:54Speaker 1: who you are. See, let me explain something to you.
- 57:57Speaker 1: If it wasn't for the Hood, there's no way I'm
- 58:02Speaker 1: in the position I'm in today if it wasn't what
- 58:05Speaker 1: the Hood taught me and showed me, that's no way
- 58:10Speaker 1: I'm who I am today because that Hood gave me
- 58:15Speaker 1: the fiber, the starch, the grit, the guts, the fight
- 58:22Speaker 1: to fight this other war on the other side of
- 58:25Speaker 1: the world that I've been on. Now, this is the
- 58:27Speaker 1: serious part that I'm giving you about this letter. You,
- 58:31Speaker 1: there is no Steve Harvey without wanted to love he.
- 58:35Speaker 1: He don't exist. He doesn't exist. My former self a character,
- 58:44Speaker 1: an image of me that was created in the past
- 58:47Speaker 1: that helped me survive who I was. Well, that thing
- 58:51Speaker 1: right there, it's very reason I got to be who
- 58:54Speaker 1: I am. See, And that amazes me how people get
- 58:58Speaker 1: bullshie like that and all that they try to lead
- 59:01Speaker 1: that from behind. You can't run from what you were.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I embrace it. So that's the serious part of the letter. Now,
- 59:09Speaker 1: do you have a problem with this man? Yes? Yeah,
- 59:13Speaker 1: Are you gonna be able to fix him? Probably not?
- 59:16Speaker 1: Now can you stomach him? I don't know. I don't know.
- 59:22Speaker 1: It don't sound to me like you like him, because
- 59:24Speaker 1: don't nobody reading this letter like him? I know, I
- 59:28Speaker 1: don't now. When we come back after the break, I'm
- 59:35Speaker 1: gonna give you a demonstration of what happened at the
- 59:39Speaker 1: church that through it. All right, thanks, and ask Deacon
- 59:44Speaker 1: deaf Jam to join me because I can tell you
- 59:47Speaker 1: what happened. We'll have part two of Steve's response coming
- 59:51Speaker 1: up with twenty three minutes after He's too Bushee from
- 59:53Speaker 1: my church. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 59:56Speaker 1: You're listening to morning show, all right, I'm on Steve.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Let's recap today's strawberry letter. He's too bushy for my
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: church is the subject. This girl, forty six year old woman,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: done dealing with this man. His first family to graduate
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: college and he's successful, doctor, got his own practice. She's
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: a doctor too, but she works in the hood. He
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: always joking her about working in the hood, and he
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: didn't forgot who are here from? Like I said, a
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: lot of people think that they current position in life
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: removes them from their prior life, of their past. When
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: people don't realize it is your past. It's how you
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: got where you are in the first place. If it
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: wasn't from the conditions of the hood that I lived in,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I don't get to be successful because I wouldn't have
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to fight the start I didn't, I wouldn't have a
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: tough skin I got. You know, when they talking about me,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: when they make it fun of me, when they behind
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: my back, when they stabbing, when they jump on me
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: for no reason, when they when they come out to
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: bushes see see see it's see see what mess people
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: up to see social media At the first set of
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: bushes out of had somebody to jump out on me
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: on see so see so se se se see even
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: though social media is new, it's new level, new devil.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: But he's the same bushes though see Herman will Herman
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Wilson jumped on me from behind the bushes first time.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Every time I walked past bushes, Herman Wilson, and I
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: look for people behind the bushes now, so when they
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: jump on me, I got what it takes. It's a
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: whole lot from my past. But now what happened was
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you picked your man up and you took him the church.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: And as you turned into the neighborhood, they asked why
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: he was heading to the ghetto. He saw the church
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: and commented that he he shouldn't have worn expensive suit
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: and shoes. And hope don't nobody bringing his car while
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: he inside. You roll your eyes at him, told him chill,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: and they did. She passes your mama and them past anniversary.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: So you know, they had little sheets over the two
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: chairs up front. You know the usher boy wolf White.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: You know your little hood church. They decorated it best
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: they could, but there ain't a lot of money, we
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: get it. Some one of the older members of the
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: church read a Bible verse, and my man corrected him
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: under his breath. Gods, Deacon Jeff Damn, want you to
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: help me out. Yes, we are reading from the book
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: of Joel round the Book of Joe where it says
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: he was sus sus squattle by the whel and as
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: he laid in the underbelly or the whel it must
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: have it must have stinken that huh you're feeling. And
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I guess I'm assuming that the whirl regurgitated him back
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: up on the beach, and when he got up on
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: the beach, he was faced with temptation. Called some girls
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: on the beach with bikini's own can you see what
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I'm seeing? And I'm standing. But that's why the temptation
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: that was on that beach is the same temptation that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: followed them into the wilderness for forty years. Jonah Job
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: was in the belly of the will A lot of
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: people think it was Jonah, but they called him Job.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: For Sean Job is the same person. Now her boyfriend
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: corrected that it's Jonah was in the well. Joe had
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: boils and was tested by Satan. That was there was
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: no desert for him the forty years. That's what he's
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: just corrected him. But now here we go, this is what.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: And then the pastor spoke and started mispronouncing names from
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: the Bible, and hollyand and sweat did and your man
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: started laughing. Let us go, Deacon, read a verse from
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the Bible, please, Daniel. Daniel went down to the lions den,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: and we're reading from the Book of I don't know,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I just knew that Daniel down in the lions Den.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: We must be reading from the book of Dannelle. Come on, now,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: from the Book of dan I yale read, man, I'm
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: not in the book. I changed book. Well, I go
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: ahead and change fun I follow all right. I read
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: something from from a thepalonass. Yes, nobody preaching that numb over. Okay,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: that's a Loonians. Well then if you don't want to
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: read from that, read from ex sold Us. That would
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: be Exodus. I think you don't. You don't correct me.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: You must thank you the doctor in this letter. Now now, now,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I just know I'm here for you. And I read
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: from the second book in the Bible right behind Jenias
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: read from do that day. I runner stuck on. I'm
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: still stuck on Jenias. I've got to find that. Indeed,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: I want Yrl to get ready to turn to first
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Clo Clo, ride first rocks. Okay, I'm gonna say this.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I know that the doctor's over there saying a lot.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: But we gonna have to start having no baby. And
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: then we're gonna turn to the Brook of Proverbs. We're
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: gonna read from Proverbs and be the end of the book.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: And then we're gonna and then We're gonna close out
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: with peace psalms and that ought to do it for
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: that will be all to date post you're comments und today,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter and Steve Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Junior Sports Talk coming up in forty six minutes after
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: the hour right after this, I think you'll buy. But
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: different than man you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: All right, Junior is here with sports Talk. When you
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: got Junior? Okay. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the Kansas
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: City Chiefs in the Super Bowl drew a total audience
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: of ninety six point four million viewers. The most watched
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Super Bowl was in twenty fifteen the New England Pages
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: in the Seattle Seahawks. That game drew one hundred and
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: fourteen point four million viewers. So CBS said Sunday Super
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Bowl Championship was the most livestream NFL game, averaging five
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: point in seven million viewers per minute, and that was
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: up sixty five percent from last year's Super Bowl. So
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: it's pretty question. Yes, sir, y'all still hal DeShawn. Yeah,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: that's the next thing I want to talk about. Two.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to say this because this is something
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: that causes me. How Come when it comes to black
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: players that quarterback position, how come they always have a
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: comment about they need to stay with their team. I
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: don't really like that. I know the shawan trying to
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: lead to Houston UM Texas, but he has a right
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: if he don't like the team he owned, just like
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Jared Golf and Matthew Stafford didn't like the team they
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: was on. Hear no problem out of that when he
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: got drafted refused to team. So I don't really appreciate
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: the comments that Dick Bremill and Brett Farr made about
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson. Man, I know he on my team. Well
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: they would say that because you know he just needs
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: to stay and play. There's no this whole this whole world.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Oh that's along the lines of shut up and drink. Yeah,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: but hold on, fab, didn't you want out of Green
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Bay and we went to Minnesota? Okay? I just want
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: to make sure now we're talking the same thing, because
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: even if he is uncomfortable, I mean, we gave him
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: reason not to feel comfortable us to mean, we gave
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: away the Andrea Hopkins. Oh that ain't all you know.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: The year before that we get Let we let the
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: jail clowney walk out back up, you know, and then
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: j J watch stay hurt. Yeah, and the new Folk
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: games y'all won. Y'all ain't win fo Ye not helping out.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: So you know with the Browns, the Browns every year,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: I know when they won't out, I know on their face.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: But right is right and wrong and wrong. Now all
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: you gotta doing the music, you know how many'm gonna
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: be out. There were on the football feeling they don't
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: even bucklela chanze trap no, because it's one thing they
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: said that you know, like they talk about now. You know,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: when he was doing what they wanted to do, his
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: character was fine. He was a great guy. He was
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: a team player, he was a leader. The minute he
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: won't out, Now that's a problem that he ain't got
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: the same character. Well, you know, people a good character
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: when they get done wrong, they don't want to talk
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: to nobody. That don't make a person. Junior Jalla two
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: games next year and who is our backup? Right? Good point?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: All right, coming up, we'll have some love advice from
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: the CLO. Right after this. You're listening to Stow passing
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: on big plans for a night on the town in
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: favor of a quiet night on Valentine's Day night at home.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Lots of us are this year because of course, of
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: the pandemic, but that doesn't stop us from being romantic.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: It doesn't mean, you know, you can't do something really
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: special for your your lover. All week, our chief love Officer,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Steve Harvey is here to give us tips how to
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: create Valentine's Day romance and that ambiance we love on
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: a budget. Okay, well, Steve, we want to talk about, Uh,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: put some honey on the thighs and lick it all. Oh,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I just any particular honey. So that's cheap honey, ain't honey,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: can't cost it? Mother and I moti pote dolls a bottle.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: You ain't it ain't gonna really good. I just saw
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: honey food nobody. So one more time, Steve, do what now?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I just said, get some honey, put it on the
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: thighs and nick it all. Any more questions? Well way,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: that wasn't a question here. That was a vone bonus.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: And if you allergic the honey deal with you just
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: take the half because its a drill and fight through it.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: I know you have a love question for our clo junior. Well,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to figure like you know, like
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: bad room stuff, you know, like the candles that you
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: know is there's certain candles we get because you want
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: to put wax on somebody, how we yeah, yeah, you
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: might want to do what you want. You can't get
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: the ones down in Walgreens. What I'm saying what you
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: want to do is you want to get they call
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: who are you? Chrisco candles? Chrisco candles and most chelfs
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: know how to make them. So you've got if you
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: can get your hands on the shelf that I got
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: a little extra Chrisco. Just drop a wick down in
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: it and you got you gonna do it? You know
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Candle, get some Chrisco. Chrisco candles, you
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: know what I mean? Okay, tell me, come on, I
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: know you have one. Okay, how do you let the
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: hall time? I'm sorry, how do you let the happy time?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: You know these are for the me and that's trying
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: to last hour and a half. How do you take
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: us through that? How do we last hour and a half?
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: But now that's gonna require that you go no, no, no, no,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: really now, you you got to really focus to last
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: for hour and a half. And it can't all be
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: built around it, just one activity that we're famous for.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: It's gonna you're gonna have to work on the events
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: that occur leading up to it. I want to call
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: it something else since Shirley it this ain't your segment
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: and you just got your damn internet working. Soup all
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: in the damn segment now a minute ago, zoom withn't
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: even working. Okay, But I'm just telling you there's some activity.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: You got to get a lot of pre pre show game.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: It's like a super Bowl. You know you gotta have
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: coin toss. Yeah, you gotta gotta have somebody saying the
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: national anthem. No, you got you got a plane fly overhead.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: You know you gotta got it. You gotta have a
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: color guard, come out with the flags, walking pass and
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: you know you gotta do all that. You know, you
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: gotta come over the pama, a couple announcements. You gotta
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: treat it like the super Bowl, super bowlers build up.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: It's two weeks before what's gonna happening? How are we
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: gonna do it? And what out betting? All this here?
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: And you gotta talk, and you gotta run bath watering.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: You gotta throw pedals in the flowing you know, you
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: got the vacuum, hearts in the carpet. You know, you
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: got the being there, you know, you know, I mean
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta light candles all over the house
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: without burning it down. It's dogging and not. That's about
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: an hour. That's about it. I'm just trying to get
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: your two out. And then you got ten minutes and
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: just hard loved it. Yeah, okay, can hard minutes? All right? Look,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: thank you tied. After that, we'll be back in twenty
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: minutes after roll Pedagan stuff on the ye you're listening to,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: all right, Steve Carla has a question. We have some
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: questions where you go, okay, so what about some Valentine's
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Day advice for a single person, single person, you know,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Mississippi Monica. Just quickly something quickly, well just real quick,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: you know. Then Valentine's Day for you, it's just gonna
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: be like another day. It's just Sunday, you know. Yeah,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: find Joel Oldstein on TV or something. You know, can
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: you buy yourself againt? What about sport? You can buy
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: yourself a gift? It ain't gonna be the same thing. Though,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: it ain't gonna be the same you know, you can
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: put it in a box too and say this is
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: from someone who loves me very much. If yeah, yeah,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: that didn't really no good ass suggestion, but go ahead, though,
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: I think Valentine's Day as a time to remind yourself, well,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: you know, look yourself. Yeah, you do have to love yourself,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: but not every year though. You do want somebody, you know,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: PRIs said, I just want to be somebody. Somebody. Valentine's
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Day can be. It could be hard, but everybody, everybody's
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: not in love on this day, and it's just a
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: day of love. Love yourself, love your friends, you know,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: you know, give with some of your other friends, and
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: y'all do something on Valentine's Day. Single people know other
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: single people, you know, get together and go you know,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: well you can't get together no more. Zoom have a
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Valentine Zoom party, the wine gathering on this one, aren't you. Yeah,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: all right, we'll have happened thirty three minutes after the
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: hour you're listening morning show. We're all still so sad
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: to hear about the passing of Supremes founder Mary Wilson.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Mary died suddenly Monday Monday evening at her home in
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Las Vegas. According to her longtime friend and publicist Jay Schwartz,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: she was seventy six years old. Mary, along with Diana
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Ross and a late Florence Ballard, co founded The Supremes
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: and a Detroit housing project when they were just fifteen
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: years old. This was back in the sixties. While Diana
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and Florence left the group, Mary stayed until the end.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: In nineteen seventy seven, Diana Ross Everyone had something to say,
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: and Barry Gordy, Motown founder, released a statement saying I
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the passing
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: of a major member of the Motown family, Mary Wilson
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: of the Supremes. The Supremes were always known as the
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Sweethearts of Motown. Mary, along with Diana and Florence, came
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: to Motown, like I said, back in the early sixties
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: after an unprecedented string of number one hits, um television
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: and nightclub bookings. They opened doors for themselves, the other
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Motown acts and so many more. Man, Yeah, I mean,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: you know, Dinna Ross and the Supremes was the original
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: girl group Girl group. Yeah, because before them that were
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: female acts in groups. But I think, I think, well,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: in my lifetime, the Supremes was the first one to
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: get out there on a national level. It was doing TV,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Ed's Sullivan and all of that. Yeah, yeah, they were
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: right where first and then they were next level though
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: girl group. They were so fabulous and beautiful and that
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: spawned all of these in vogue. Yeah that's w V
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: child the girls emotions, that name emotions. Yeah, let me
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: tell you something. Girls, Yeah, thank god, thank you. Quit
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: playing with them now, the Jones girls, all of yeah,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: all of the girls. Girls, don't make me love somebody else.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Keep on you keep her room treating me the way
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: you don't want to do it. I don't want to
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: do it. Jas Man. Yeah, baby loves stopping the name
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: of love. Where did my love go? Yeah? Absolutely. Mary
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Wilson leaves behind a daughter, a son, and seven grandchildren.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: In addition, she survived by a sister, a brother, cousin,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: three grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Our deepest condolences going
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: out to the Wilson family. But you're right, Stee, the Supremes,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: they they broke barriers. You know. It was Yeah, because
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I love the temptations so much so I used to
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: just love time. Yes there was motown, Yes, Sir, y
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: r I P Mary Wilson. We'll be back with our
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: last break of the day and of course some closing
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey right after
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: this you're listening to all right, Steve. Here we are
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: last break of the day, and uh we're looking for
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: some closing remarks from you, our leader, fear leader. I
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: guess I could take it in so, you know, because
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I've been a little different today. I've been more of
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: a straight at straight to the mark guy today, you know.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: So I guess my closing remarks should be more of
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: all I should not put it to you. I want
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to talk about h just how important it is for
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: everybody to just be in touch with your spiritual side,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: you know. I think, man, Look, I've grown up as
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: a person spiritually, you know, and I've really really come
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: to understand through travels and everything that there's a lot
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: of different ways that people culturally worship, and I've just
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: come to respect that more and more and more. And
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: my mother was a Sunday school teacher, and she always
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: taught me to be respectful of other faiths and other
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: people's methods, because she says, Steve, this is working for us.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: This is what we believe to be true and real,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: and don't let nobody talk you off this, She say,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: But I would not think that there's not another route
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: to where we're trying to get to, because it's other
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: sections of the world and other other other different people
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: from cultures and raised up a different way. So she said,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: as you meet these people, you have to be mindful.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Don't be so stuck on your way that you want
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: it your way of the high way. You want to
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: be so unforceful of your faith and your beliefs that
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: you don't that people get uncomfortable being around you. She
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: said that ain't your job, She said. Your job is
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: to be light, not darkness. He said you, she said,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: you don't know. Just live your life. Who are a
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: person that's living in darkness? Might say, man, how can
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: I get some of that light you got as opposed
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: to walking around passing judgment talking more, I see you
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: over there in that dark. This is the light right here.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: She said. That ain't how you do it, Just be
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: a light. And so I've always kind of managed to
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: kind of navigate myself through the world like that because
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I got friends from that's Jewish friends I have, you know,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Muslim friends. You know I have friends man all around
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: the world. Man, and that are some beautiful people. Man,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: I'm talking about kind live by the same moles, got
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: the same values I got. They love family, they love peace,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: they love God, they leave joy, they love sharing, they
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: love light, they love hope, they love kindness. They do
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: unto others of you, they would have them do unto you.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: All of that and so I become comfortable with it.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: But I think everybody that hears me should just get
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: in touch with your spiritual side. In twenty twenty one,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: make a commitment to get a little closer to God,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: because God is so necessary. Man, I just don't. I
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: just don't know how you make it without Him. I
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: really don't. Oh. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm human.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I've attempted it before. I've spent spans in my life
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: not talking to God, not pray and not not not
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: confiding any And because of his grace and mercy, he
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: allowed me to survive those moments because he loved me
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: and and he knew I knew better. And you might
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: be that person that's going through that too. You might
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: be that person that really knows that there is a
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: God and was really raised up by your grandmother or
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: your mother, and you just slid off to the left
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: or to the right and with just doing your thing.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: But you can always come back. You can always walk
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: towards the light. You can always pray. You don't have
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: to go to church to pray. You don't have to
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: go to no certain building. And here's an important thing
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: about prayer. You don't need permission. You actually can have
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: a relationship with God just yourself. Man, you should try it,
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: because if you're feeling moments of confusion, uncertainty, doubt, if
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: you feel alone, if you don't know what your next
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: move gonna be, can I tell you something. God knows
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: exactly what your next move should be, because He has
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: a plan for you, and if you talk with him,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: he'll unveil it to you. Now. I'm gonna tell you
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: right now. He's not gonna be easy. It's not gonna
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: be without opposition, it ain't gonna be without challenges or setbacks.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: But He'll be there with you the whole way. It's
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: the only explanation I have for my existence today. I
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: wish you would. Man. It's just a real simple thing,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: you know. And I ain't that dude where you know,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: look you look at me, and I'm always shouting up,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: got my hands up, praying or telling you this and
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: telling you that I'm not that, I'm not that person.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: But boy, I got a real good relationship with him though,
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: I really do, and it's personal and it gets me
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: through every crisis I've ever had in my life. If
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: you follow my career and you know me from this
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: radio show like I have fans, man who listened to
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: this radio show every day. If you know me as
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: a person, you've seen me survive something Hella hits. You've
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: seen them come for me. I've seen y'all defend me,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: the real people that really love me and know my
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: spirit in my heart. And you've watched them haters come
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: for me. And you've watched every single time he picked
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: me up, set me on solid pathways and directions, dust
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: me off and next thing you know, I'm rolling again.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: You've seen them and heard them write me off over
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: and over and over, and every time you look up,
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: I keep shining because that God I served, that merciful, forgiving, loving, understanding.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: God has promised me that he would never leave me,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: and you know what, he ain't ever in my darkest moments,
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: he has never ever left me. He has been the
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: one constant thing I can count on my entire life.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: What he's done for me, he will do for you.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: All you got to do is talk to him and
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: confide him. Get your relationship with God. He loved to
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: hear from you. Talk to him. He really would love
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: to here from m and he don't care to This
