- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, But come
- 2:06Speaker 1: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got
- 2:09Speaker 1: a radio show. Well, I gotta tell you something, everybody,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and this is great news for everybody that I'm share
- 2:20Speaker 1: something with your principle of becoming successful at whatever level
- 2:26Speaker 1: you choose. It can be successful in the relationship, successful
- 2:31Speaker 1: in the family. Successes may be considered to you becoming
- 2:36Speaker 1: a homeowner. It could be being dead free. Your ideal
- 2:41Speaker 1: success could be sixty thousand a year, fifty thousand a year,
- 2:46Speaker 1: one hundred thousand dollars a year. Doesn't matter if you're
- 2:50Speaker 1: considering it, if you're wanting it, if you have a
- 2:54Speaker 1: desire to become successful. I want to share with you
- 2:57Speaker 1: the very beginning of that. If no one's ever done it,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I'm going to say the beginning of it today see
- 3:06Speaker 1: scripture makes it very clear for us you don't The
- 3:13Speaker 1: only thing you need to become successful is already inside
- 3:16Speaker 1: of you. It's not an external need. God wouldn't do
- 3:21Speaker 1: that to you. He puts the core basis of everything
- 3:26Speaker 1: you need inside of you. So if you discover it,
- 3:31Speaker 1: if you tend to it, nurture it, fertilize it, and
- 3:36Speaker 1: water it, it grows, it branches out. Then it reaches
- 3:41Speaker 1: out externally and it starts grabbing things outside of there
- 3:44Speaker 1: to make it even bigger, stronger, better, last longer. But
- 3:48Speaker 1: in the very beginning, you don't need anything. It's all
- 3:52Speaker 1: within you. And if you cultivate your relationship with God,
- 3:57Speaker 1: it comes out, it flourishes. Now, let me tell you
- 4:02Speaker 1: that thing that I'm talking about is a God given
- 4:05Speaker 1: gift that He has given to all of us. We
- 4:07Speaker 1: all possess it. It is all within us, and everybody
- 4:12Speaker 1: has a gift. Had somebody told me what I know
- 4:16Speaker 1: now back then, I would have saved myself tons of mistakes.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I just didn't know the principles. I had to learn
- 4:21Speaker 1: them all well. One of the principles of becoming successful
- 4:25Speaker 1: is your mind set You got to get your mind
- 4:30Speaker 1: right now. This mindset is simply a decision that you
- 4:35Speaker 1: can make. I can't get it for you. I can
- 4:39Speaker 1: tell you what to do, but you got to make
- 4:42Speaker 1: the decision. You just listening have to decide. You know what,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna go on and get at it. I'm gonna
- 4:47Speaker 1: stop renting. I'm gonna become a homeowner. You know what
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna do. I'm gonna stop living check to check.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna put a budget together. I'm gonna stop
- 4:58Speaker 1: stepping out on my family. I'm gonna go home. I'm
- 5:01Speaker 1: gonna get it together. I'm gonna stop using you when
- 5:05Speaker 1: you make these decisions. That's correcting your mindset. Now. The
- 5:09Speaker 1: closer connection you have with God, the more help you
- 5:12Speaker 1: get sustaining the mindset. How many times have you started
- 5:16Speaker 1: to do something and you stopped? How many resolutions have
- 5:19Speaker 1: you made at the New Year and stop by February?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Over by me at January? Done in March? Because if
- 5:29Speaker 1: you don't have a clear connection with your creator to
- 5:32Speaker 1: help you carry out the other force out there, that
- 5:35Speaker 1: evil force is designed to get you not to reach
- 5:39Speaker 1: your goals, get you not to come to resolution, with
- 5:42Speaker 1: whatever the resolutions are you made so he can So
- 5:45Speaker 1: you can consider yourself not worthy or failure or unable
- 5:50Speaker 1: to do something. But the more things you are able
- 5:52Speaker 1: to accomplish, the greater your confidence goals grows. So we
- 5:56Speaker 1: got to get your mind set together. Your mindset is
- 5:59Speaker 1: a decision that you have to make. When you make
- 6:01Speaker 1: the decision, you can begin the process. Your mindset is
- 6:05Speaker 1: also a will of yours, a will along with the decision,
- 6:10Speaker 1: a will, a willingness to do right, a willingness to change,
- 6:16Speaker 1: a willingness to be better. It's going to then cause
- 6:22Speaker 1: you to have to make a decision to make a
- 6:24Speaker 1: change of direction. Don't go where everybody else going. You
- 6:28Speaker 1: got to go your way now. You can't follow the crowd.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You got to take a less travel path. You cannot
- 6:36Speaker 1: do this without changing your direction. You can't keep hanging
- 6:39Speaker 1: with the people you've been hanging with if you want
- 6:41Speaker 1: to be different because they're not. Then you have to
- 6:45Speaker 1: develop an obligation to yourself. You've got to say, you
- 6:50Speaker 1: know what for me and my family. If you don't
- 6:53Speaker 1: have a family for me, I owe it to myself.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I have an obligation to myself to be the best
- 6:59Speaker 1: meat that can possibly be, to be the best self
- 7:03Speaker 1: that I can possibly be, To be the best father,
- 7:07Speaker 1: the best man, the best husband, the best wife, the
- 7:11Speaker 1: best mother, the best daughter, the best son, the best student,
- 7:15Speaker 1: the best employe, the best owner. You have an obligation
- 7:20Speaker 1: to yourself to give yourself a shot at the best
- 7:24Speaker 1: life you can. That's an obligation. You owe that to yourself.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Why would you not live the best life that you
- 7:31Speaker 1: possibly could. You have an obligation to yourself. Why would
- 7:35Speaker 1: you teat yourself like that? Why would you take yourself
- 7:39Speaker 1: and never allow yourself to see the goodness that's already
- 7:43Speaker 1: in you, to have the abundance that's been promised to you,
- 7:47Speaker 1: to go and explore all the riches out there that's
- 7:52Speaker 1: available to you. And but one of the worst ways
- 7:58Speaker 1: that you can rob yourself of the joy of your
- 8:01Speaker 1: obligation is to keep comparing yourself to somebody else. Because
- 8:04Speaker 1: guess what, Man, that ain't your life. You ain't jay
- 8:09Speaker 1: Z and Beyonce, you're not You're not Oper Instead, man,
- 8:13Speaker 1: that's not who you are. Quit looking around at everybody else.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That comparison of everybody else to keep you broken, It'll
- 8:21Speaker 1: keep you unhappy. You won't even be able to be
- 8:24Speaker 1: grateful for what you have because you steady talking about
- 8:26Speaker 1: what you don't have. That's not the way, man. You
- 8:29Speaker 1: have an obligation to yourself to be the best you
- 8:32Speaker 1: you can be, not the best them. You're not them.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Stop trying to be them. Be the best you. It's cool.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You got a nice little house. That's cool. You know
- 8:42Speaker 1: how many big houses is empty and feel with hate
- 8:46Speaker 1: and resentment. I'd rather have a smaller house feel with
- 8:50Speaker 1: joy in it than to go to a big man.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Prince got a line in a song that says, I
- 8:56Speaker 1: realized in its best disguise, or pretty house don't make
- 9:01Speaker 1: a home man. Don't you know I know how true
- 9:05Speaker 1: that is? So I'm just trying to tell you now.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Another part of the mindset is taking dead aim at
- 9:16Speaker 1: your life's goals and ambitions. What are they? What are
- 9:20Speaker 1: your goals and your visions? What do you see for yourself?
- 9:24Speaker 1: What do you dream about? If you knew you couldn't
- 9:27Speaker 1: fail at whatever it is you were attempting, what would
- 9:29Speaker 1: you go attempting? See? That's what we need to be after.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It's a mindset, y'all. It's a decision it's a will,
- 9:38Speaker 1: it's a change of direction. It's an obligation to yourself.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It's taking dead aim at your life's visions and goals.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Come on, man, you got to get your mind wrapped
- 9:47Speaker 1: around this thing. You owe it to yourself to live
- 9:50Speaker 1: the best life you can be. Come on, man, talk
- 9:53Speaker 1: to God. God got something for you. You just gotta
- 9:55Speaker 1: check in with him. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen, without
- 10:03Speaker 1: further ado, it is time. It's moaning time. Come on, no,
- 10:10Speaker 1: we gather today six o'clock or so. M hm. That's right.
- 10:19Speaker 1: With uh intentions of eye lightening, intentions of uh comma
- 10:29Speaker 1: comma deicalness. We come to you with intention informatization. We
- 10:39Speaker 1: are healed in the moaning time. In spite of the
- 10:45Speaker 1: crisis that's going on around the world, we that are
- 10:51Speaker 1: here are blessed and highly favored. Right walking that walk, yes, hawking,
- 11:00Speaker 1: that talk yeah, and jay walking when I walk. Sermons
- 11:08Speaker 1: ain't gotta have no meaning. They just got to sound
- 11:12Speaker 1: like his wom I say, look at hill, welcome to
- 11:19Speaker 1: the bad is moaning short you the lad I know
- 11:27Speaker 1: there as others, But then his invitations I know it.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Folks with reggio shows. Yeah, but they ain't got us
- 11:36Speaker 1: with it. I know of some shows. I think it's
- 11:42Speaker 1: pretty good. My damn self a radio and I had
- 11:50Speaker 1: turned to one station, Come on, I would pick the
- 11:54Speaker 1: same one that you just picked. Yeah, I know you
- 11:59Speaker 1: picked it because I'm on it and you hear me.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Like I said, other choices, But why make the wrong
- 12:09Speaker 1: choice every day? That's right, that's right. I'm knowing that
- 12:14Speaker 1: we are healed and they are there. Come on, ladies
- 12:18Speaker 1: and gentlemen, let me introduce him to a man with
- 12:23Speaker 1: a large note grade, big old lips face has grown
- 12:32Speaker 1: in with over years, mustache world famous, got more more credits,
- 12:48Speaker 1: uh than than Equifax. He he has told more jokes
- 12:58Speaker 1: than these other race of your shows have attempted. Yes,
- 13:04Speaker 1: ain't nobody on any morning more funny, didn't be? And
- 13:08Speaker 1: when I come back, I'm gonna introduce me to you
- 13:12Speaker 1: and the rest of the morning crew. There you standing by.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But I then took off down the road of foolishness,
- 13:23Speaker 1: and I didn't know how to get off. Sometime when
- 13:26Speaker 1: you go down the road of foolishness, it ain't no exit.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So we on the road and I'll be back at
- 13:33Speaker 1: the bottom of the hour in the name or Steve
- 13:37Speaker 1: Harbin moaning show. We'll be right back right you're listening
- 13:47Speaker 1: right now, it's time for the nephew to run that
- 13:49Speaker 1: prank back. Are your lights on? Sound pretty simple? Cat dog,
- 13:55Speaker 1: give you for it, Harby. Hello, Hello, I'm trying to
- 14:00Speaker 1: reach out. Who's calling this this? They called me Pepper
- 14:05Speaker 1: I live. I think I actually live in an apartment
- 14:08Speaker 1: behind you. I think my my apartments are up against
- 14:11Speaker 1: each other. But you are you in in Uni? Who
- 14:15Speaker 1: want to know? Actually, I'm want to know. I'm calling you.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I got a little bit of a problem. I actually
- 14:19Speaker 1: live in, uh which is the apartment that that's our
- 14:24Speaker 1: apartments are backed back with each other. And I don't
- 14:29Speaker 1: know harm Man, but you are right, Yes, okay, here's
- 14:33Speaker 1: here's what's going on. It took me a long time
- 14:35Speaker 1: time to figure this out. But when you come home
- 14:38Speaker 1: in the evening and you turn your life down, my
- 14:42Speaker 1: my oven and stove come on, and I'm talking about
- 14:46Speaker 1: every out on my stove is on and burning hot.
- 14:51Speaker 1: How do you know? That's because when I turned my
- 14:53Speaker 1: life home, I just I mean, I didn't figure it out.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It just seemed like every time I mean, I hear
- 14:58Speaker 1: you when you close your door, and every evening I'm like,
- 15:02Speaker 1: why is my oven and my stove coming on? And
- 15:05Speaker 1: I'm taking about my whole kitchen, just hunting degrees in there.
- 15:08Speaker 1: But I under stove being on like that. Okay, did
- 15:11Speaker 1: you call maintenance? From my understanding, I'm on the listen.
- 15:14Speaker 1: They're not gonna get to me for a couple of
- 15:16Speaker 1: days now, so I'm not I'm asking you, miss you're
- 15:19Speaker 1: on mind to not have your lights on until they
- 15:22Speaker 1: come get this pix. Okay, So you asking me not
- 15:26Speaker 1: to turn on my lights for three or four days,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and you know, to sit in the dark. Well, I'm
- 15:30Speaker 1: just saying it's it's only gonna be for a couple
- 15:32Speaker 1: of days. I know it's a little bit of an inconvenience,
- 15:33Speaker 1: but I mean I can't be over here in the house,
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know, damn about to burn down. Are you listening
- 15:38Speaker 1: to what you're saying? You're asking me to sit in
- 15:40Speaker 1: the dark. You know, I got a baby. I can't
- 15:42Speaker 1: sit in the dark. Okay. I mean, y'all have any
- 15:44Speaker 1: camels or something y'all can work with or something like that. Um,
- 15:47Speaker 1: I have to give my baby food milk. I mean really,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you want me to sit in the dark, and you
- 15:53Speaker 1: don't want me to turn anything on. You know, I
- 15:55Speaker 1: gotta feed my baby. I understand, and and and much
- 15:58Speaker 1: respect to you and child, much respect. But what I'm
- 16:02Speaker 1: trying to explain to you is, I mean, we have
- 16:04Speaker 1: to look at the big hazard here. The bigger hazard
- 16:06Speaker 1: is is that I'm over here with fire on. Okay,
- 16:09Speaker 1: First of all, where you getting this wee from? I
- 16:12Speaker 1: am I involved in your situation. I am nothing the
- 16:15Speaker 1: one that's going on in your house. Your license patched
- 16:17Speaker 1: in some kind of way to my oven and stove. Okay,
- 16:20Speaker 1: but I still I don't have anything to do with that.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You know, you need to call management whatever. But I
- 16:27Speaker 1: don't have anything to any with that. And I want
- 16:29Speaker 1: to know, how do you know when I get home
- 16:31Speaker 1: and turn on my lights? I mean, like, are you
- 16:33Speaker 1: looking at my window or something? Are you a peeping tongues?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Do I need to call nine one one? You don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: need to call nobody on me. Now, what we need
- 16:40Speaker 1: to get somebody over here and fix this other into
- 16:41Speaker 1: the stove. That's what we got to get done. But
- 16:43Speaker 1: until it end right now, you can't turn them lights off.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Oh I'm turning on my life. I mean, I know
- 16:51Speaker 1: you ain't trying to regulate what I do in my house.
- 16:53Speaker 1: For listen, I'm gonna tell you, just like this here,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna need you to keep them lights off until
- 16:57Speaker 1: meeting this get over here in two days. Now. If
- 17:00Speaker 1: if if I see this stove come on and all
- 17:03Speaker 1: these our eyes on this on this stove come on,
- 17:07Speaker 1: then I'm gonna come over there and we're gonna have
- 17:09Speaker 1: to direct to fire the problem. But I cannot have
- 17:11Speaker 1: this coming on now. I'm not no, I'm not, no,
- 17:15Speaker 1: I am not. I'm telling you not to turn the
- 17:18Speaker 1: lights off. That's what I'm asking you to do. Well,
- 17:20Speaker 1: I can't sit in the dark and I'm gonna turn
- 17:22Speaker 1: on my lights. So you know you're gonna have to
- 17:24Speaker 1: deal with it. No, I'm not going to deal with it.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You're gonna have to actually turn the lights off. Now,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I understand. Do you have somewhere you can go stay?
- 17:31Speaker 1: To me? Do you have somewhere you can go stay?
- 17:33Speaker 1: I'm not leaving my house. I don't have a problem.
- 17:35Speaker 1: You and the one with the problem. I'm not going
- 17:38Speaker 1: to leave here and then you turn it on and
- 17:40Speaker 1: then over here and knock on my door. You think
- 17:42Speaker 1: you see firing your stove, You're gonna see some fire.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I can show you some fire. Okay, listen, I'm trying
- 17:47Speaker 1: where you do as calmly as I can. Okay, I'm
- 17:49Speaker 1: trying to work with me calmly. Okay. The only thing
- 17:51Speaker 1: you're doing right now is you're trying to tell me
- 17:53Speaker 1: what to do and run my household. Okay. If you're
- 17:55Speaker 1: not gonna work with me, then this is what I'm
- 17:57Speaker 1: gonna do it. I already found out where the break is.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I just go and just turn all the power off
- 18:02Speaker 1: so you don't have your power wall it off. Wait
- 18:04Speaker 1: a minute, what n You can't turn my break off?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Are you crazy? I got to do what I got
- 18:09Speaker 1: to do. I can't start no far right? You get
- 18:12Speaker 1: my phone number anyway? I mean, how you know my name?
- 18:14Speaker 1: My number? Artist? You know what? I'm about to come
- 18:17Speaker 1: home and he's gonna put the foot up your I
- 18:20Speaker 1: don't care if he put your in the of it
- 18:22Speaker 1: and we set you up on fire. What you're talking about,
- 18:25Speaker 1: You're gonna damn turn the break off? Let me. I'm
- 18:28Speaker 1: trying to tell me and prevent a far for the
- 18:30Speaker 1: whole complex. And you're up and there trying to commit
- 18:33Speaker 1: h This is like arsen for you to turn that on.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I don't give a you don't want you already got
- 18:38Speaker 1: a problem. So I'm just gonna ask field to the fire.
- 18:40Speaker 1: You call me and again, I want to know how
- 18:42Speaker 1: you got my num. Look, I'm not going to city.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Didn't go on in this little small turn. The mis
- 18:47Speaker 1: man is that we got a problem with show switch
- 18:50Speaker 1: when you turn it on, my hanger problem got all
- 18:53Speaker 1: the on the stove. That the problem is about to
- 18:56Speaker 1: be a bigger problem when my man come over there
- 18:58Speaker 1: put a foot up your I don't know who the
- 19:00Speaker 1: do you? Thank you, but it's about to be on.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I don't know how you got my number, but you

- 51:57Speaker 1: haven't done any well? You know Steven is here. He
- 52:01Speaker 1: don't let me introduce the letter though. More Shut up,
- 52:03Speaker 1: I don't need all that. That's for surely shut your
- 52:06Speaker 1: ignorant ass. Well, she back, and you did it, so
- 52:09Speaker 1: can we do the letter now? You're happy to he
- 52:14Speaker 1: hate I did. It's a lot going on, all right,
- 52:19Speaker 1: something like me, My uncle do not like me. He
- 52:23Speaker 1: loves you though, he loves you, Yeah, all right, subject
- 52:27Speaker 1: Her family is gathering for y'all. Both of y'all are correct?
- 52:33Speaker 1: What your uncle and he do not like you? See that?
- 52:36Speaker 1: But he loves you, all right? Yeah, I love you.
- 52:40Speaker 1: The deaf boy ain't gonna let nothing happen to you.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Do not particularly care for you. All right, here we go,
- 52:49Speaker 1: just Steven Shirley, It's yes, it is. I grew up
- 52:54Speaker 1: in a two parent home, and both of my parents
- 52:56Speaker 1: earned college degrees and worked hard to provide a good
- 53:00Speaker 1: life from me and my siblings. And I have a
- 53:02Speaker 1: college degree as well. And I've been married for over
- 53:05Speaker 1: twenty years to a great woman, and we have two teenagers.
- 53:10Speaker 1: My teenagers are well mannered and really smart kids. So
- 53:14Speaker 1: here's my problem. I met my wife in college and
- 53:17Speaker 1: fell in love with her, but I cannot stand her family.
- 53:22Speaker 1: They are, for lack of a better term, ghetto. I
- 53:25Speaker 1: must admit that as my kids grew up. I limited
- 53:29Speaker 1: their access to my wife's side of the family, but
- 53:32Speaker 1: I had to be careful so I wouldn't offend my wife.
- 53:35Speaker 1: These people are hood and they have a cookout for
- 53:38Speaker 1: every occasion. They all live on the same street in
- 53:42Speaker 1: five or six mobile homes, so they always are down
- 53:46Speaker 1: to party, play cards, drink, get all loud, and act
- 53:50Speaker 1: a fool. These kids are always part of their kids
- 53:55Speaker 1: are always part of the festivities, and when my children
- 53:57Speaker 1: were younger, my wife wanted our children and to get
- 54:00Speaker 1: to know their cousins. That didn't last long because the
- 54:03Speaker 1: hood cousins started teasing my children about the way they
- 54:07Speaker 1: speak and how they carried themselves. One of my sons
- 54:10Speaker 1: will be graduating from high school soon and my wife
- 54:13Speaker 1: has a party plan for him. She wants to invite
- 54:17Speaker 1: her entire family to the party that's in our community
- 54:21Speaker 1: center in our neighborhood. I have politely reminded her how
- 54:26Speaker 1: much of a fiasco it might be, but she is
- 54:29Speaker 1: dead set on having her family included. I can already
- 54:33Speaker 1: imagine a dice game jumping off by the pool if
- 54:36Speaker 1: her uncle comes. I don't want to be disrespectful, but
- 54:40Speaker 1: I need to put my foot down and set some
- 54:42Speaker 1: ground rules. Stephen Shirley, how can I make this party work? Wow? Well? First, first, first,
- 54:50Speaker 1: no alcohol. I have to say that, no alcohol, because
- 54:54Speaker 1: that's when the stuff jumps off. No alcohol, okay, none,
- 54:58Speaker 1: don't have any. They're gonna be mad. But you can't
- 55:01Speaker 1: have any alcohol because they get that in them and
- 55:04Speaker 1: it's just no telling. You might want to have some
- 55:08Speaker 1: security around, some playing close security, you know, let them
- 55:12Speaker 1: mingle through the crowd and everything, because you know that's
- 55:15Speaker 1: in case something does go down. You know. In the meantime, though,
- 55:20Speaker 1: I gotta tell you this. I gotta tell you this.
- 55:22Speaker 1: She gave us a lot of information in your letter.
- 55:24Speaker 1: You know about you graduating from college. You and your
- 55:26Speaker 1: wife have been together for twenty years. She's a great woman.
- 55:29Speaker 1: You fell in love with her. Your kids are great.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Their hood cousins make fun of them and everything. I
- 55:35Speaker 1: just say, in the meantime, this is a teenage party,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you know. Remind people of that, so it should be
- 55:41Speaker 1: okay because it's for the teenagers. As long as a
- 55:43Speaker 1: grown folks don't act to fool the adults. Just have
- 55:47Speaker 1: to behave You love your wife. You said that you
- 55:51Speaker 1: love your wife. You fell in love with her, and
- 55:53Speaker 1: you don't want to offend her, So please please be
- 55:56Speaker 1: mindful of that. You know that these are her folks.
- 55:58Speaker 1: She wants them to be included, She loves them, and
- 56:02Speaker 1: really she wants them there. So I mean hood or not,
- 56:06Speaker 1: ghetto or not as you call it, they're gonna. They're
- 56:09Speaker 1: gonna be there because this is what the wife that
- 56:11Speaker 1: you love wants. So no alcohol and a little bit
- 56:14Speaker 1: of security might help you, Steve. Well, how many minutes
- 56:17Speaker 1: I got here before I get started on this. I
- 56:21Speaker 1: just wanted to say that I completely and totally disagree
- 56:27Speaker 1: with everything Shirleys said. Your damn children need these people, Yes,
- 56:36Speaker 1: they do. Try to give a damn both my parents
- 56:39Speaker 1: and college degree. My mom and daddy ain't ever ain't
- 56:42Speaker 1: My dad ain't even finished elementary school. My mama got
- 56:47Speaker 1: a high school diploma, that's it. Ain't. None of my
- 56:50Speaker 1: brothers and sisters been in no college, that's it. I
- 56:53Speaker 1: went funk right out. I got a college degree as well.
- 56:57Speaker 1: I've been married over twenty years with everybody gonna make
- 57:00Speaker 1: it twenty years hip hip, hooray for you, partner. I'm
- 57:06Speaker 1: just gonna tell him what because you know you think
- 57:09Speaker 1: he's somebody. Yeah, you got these two teenagers. They well
- 57:13Speaker 1: mannered and really smart kids. They book smart, they ass
- 57:17Speaker 1: ain't street smart. Stupid ass need to get with these
- 57:20Speaker 1: cuss and show them how to handle themselves out there
- 57:22Speaker 1: in life. You got a family that's got five mobile
- 57:27Speaker 1: parks down the street from each other, all of them
- 57:29Speaker 1: in trailer home. He needs to know these people because
- 57:32Speaker 1: something could pop off. You need them people, are you
- 57:37Speaker 1: mad and stuff? You don't want them around there for
- 57:39Speaker 1: lack of better turn. They get on everybody on the
- 57:42Speaker 1: morning show from damn get on. It's a lot of
- 57:46Speaker 1: good in the hood. But you think because you got
- 57:50Speaker 1: this little degree, oh you think your ass is somebody?
- 57:54Speaker 1: You special where you ain't. You're mad at him? Yeah? Him, Yeah,
- 57:59Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you whip when you come back. Yea, yeah,
- 58:02Speaker 1: sitting up here because he got a little punkad degree.
- 58:06Speaker 1: All right, listen, Steve, hang onto that two of your self.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Your response coming up in twenty three minutes after the
- 58:13Speaker 1: our Today's Strawberry Letters subject her family is ghetto. She
- 58:16Speaker 1: doesn't know it. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 58:20Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, come on, let's recap
- 58:25Speaker 1: today's strawberry letter, which you are so mad about the subject.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Her family is ghetto and she doesn't know. Ye tell
- 58:33Speaker 1: me so damn. Most ghetto people don't know. They get
- 58:36Speaker 1: off cause they from the ghetto. That's just where they from,
- 58:40Speaker 1: That's just where they live. Now, you sitting have been
- 58:43Speaker 1: here because both your parents got college degree, work hard,
- 58:46Speaker 1: you and your siblings. You mad twenty great woman to teenage.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Both y'all got degrees. You met in college. But you
- 58:54Speaker 1: can't stay in her family. Well, her family probably can't
- 58:57Speaker 1: stay in you either. Your bushy ass coming over. See there,
- 59:02Speaker 1: there are a lot of they lack for a better turn. Yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 1: hit them. His snobby ass sitting up in here. You
- 59:10Speaker 1: don't like nothing they do down there, so I'm gonna
- 59:12Speaker 1: tell you about him. I must admit that as the
- 59:14Speaker 1: kids grew up, I limited their access to my wife's
- 59:17Speaker 1: side of family, but I had to be careful not
- 59:19Speaker 1: to feedom these peoplehood They see you think your kids
- 59:22Speaker 1: is well mannered and smart kids, but they don't got
- 59:25Speaker 1: no streets smart you know what I mean in stupid
- 59:28Speaker 1: ass book, smart people. I know Bill Gates ain't got
- 59:34Speaker 1: a college degree. Hold on let me show you. So
- 59:36Speaker 1: let's get it rid of them. We're talking about college greed.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Timmy got a college degree. Oh my don't have a
- 59:44Speaker 1: college degree. Now, which one us you want your kids
- 59:47Speaker 1: to be? Timmy got a college degree. I ain't who
- 59:52Speaker 1: you want your kids to be, probably neither one of us.
- 59:55Speaker 1: But if you had to pick one, what you pick history?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: For the ass, that's all I'm asking. You got a
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: college degree. Ain't got a damn brain in his skull.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: So much for your little damn college degree. They have
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: a cookout for every occasion. They live on the Stame
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Street in five or six mobile homes. They always down

- 1:01:04Speaker 1: don't know how to play tongue. You can't shoot no
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: damn pool. My wife want our children to get they
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: know their cousins because your wife is right, because she
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: know you ain't taught them a damn thing and set
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: up here and taught them all that book knowledge and
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: all that, and they talk. They're getting their ass whipped
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: every time they go to the playground. What I'm telling
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: you what it sounds, this is what I'm reading in
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: the letter. I'm reading all this in the letter. Your
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: wife want them to know their cousins because they damn
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: dad is soft. They didn't last long casting hood cousins.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: They want them to come over and could start teasing
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: your children about the way they speak and how they
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: care themselves. They ain't the last time they're gonna hit this.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: The hood cousins was getting them ready for life. Why
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: are you mad because they're sitting up in here and
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: not not not honoring the value of these hood cousins.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: It's good in the hood. You need to let these
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: hood tease your kids about the way they speak. They
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: probably speak real properly, just like your hands. One of
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: my sons we graduated from high school. My wife got
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: a party playing. She want to invite her and tie
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: party to the five family to the party that's in
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: our community center in our neighborhood. Oh oh, I see
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: you live in a complex that's got a community center.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Oh now you're gonna oh you scared. The hood people
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: gonna come over that starts squimming with all his clothes
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: on and stuff like that, Gonna bring up grill out there,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: because you know, we travel with grills in our car.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I had a grill in my car till I was
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: thirty four years old. Sorry to mention, Yeah, kept a
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: grill in my car. Charcoal light of fluid too, and
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: a fishing rod. Hell yeah, hey, never know when I
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: run across the lake. I need some need. I was homeless,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: I ain't on time to do them this punk ass letter,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: and you were sitting up in here. I politely remind
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: her how much your fiasco it'll be if I invite
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: them people over that. But she dared sit on having
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: her family included. I can imagine the dice game jumping
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: off by the pool. If they uncle come hold on,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: like to shoot dice? Oh hell, I'm no. I know
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: you ain't say we can't shoot dice. We can't shoot dice.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: We at the swimming pool. People don't swim, so what
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: else they gonna do? Your uncle can't swim. He got
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: some dice were standing around. Ween't do it? And then
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: you hold on shut we're shooting dice. I don't want
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: to be disrespectful. I need to put my foot down.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: You can kick the dice. Put your foot down. If
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: they roll you kick it forward, hit point. You can
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: kick the dice. Get a rethroat fabe. I need to
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: make some ground. Why can I make this party work?
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Your ass don't go now what you wanna ask? So
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: you're rolling around with a fishing pole because you get hungry,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: so you'll go get some fish and then catch it
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: and bring it back and cooking on the grill that's
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: in your car. No, I take it up to the
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: rest area because they got some cassine grills already dug
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: into the ground. We threw parties my brother. My brother
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: still got card parties at his house where my oldest
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: brother died. We stopped for six months because we was morning.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: But we're back now, thank you, Simon Son. Today's strawberry
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: letters on Instagram and Facebook coming up in forty six
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. That's why the majority of my
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: friends ain't got no damn colleague. Okay, we'll be back.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: You're listening show what's the biggest light you ever told?
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Tell me? He started off my oldest son when he
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: was younger, he wanted to go to PG thirteen movies.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I always knew it was gonna be something that he
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: didn't need to see, so he didn't know. But I
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: would tell him, hey, do you know what PG thirteen means?
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: He's like no, I say that means only thirteen people
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: can go in the movie. So when I when we
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: would get there, I say, it's already twelve people in there.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: We can't go in there. It's too late, and he
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: would be like, Wow, we don't never get him Timinge Pg.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Thirteen Movies, We're gonna have to go see a g movie.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: We're gonna go see a gae. We'd be all up
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: in line, king, we're not going to see your mama
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: ain't gonna be mad at p. Thirteen. All right, come on,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: what I need to make sure that my mama hated listening? Uh? Man,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I was at football sixteen years old. Huh, and my
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: mama let me take a truck to practice, and you know,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: have to practice my boy getting the truck we're driving back.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: I took my mama brand new blazer and backed it
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: and got it stuck on the side and then it
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: the whole left side on a school bus. Ah. My
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: boys said, Man, I can't let you go back home
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: with the truth. You got to say that bus backed
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: in the youth. Boy, he said, you can't walk in
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: mama brand. He got this tag still on it. It
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: ain't no license plate. Man. I walked in there, Mom
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: and said, what happened to that trunk? And my boys
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: went talking. We was just buttling up our seat belts
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: and they know a school bus hit up. My mama
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: bought that for about two months. Uh, she said, she said,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: why you ain't getting no case? Right? I got as
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: I see that sixty. I was fast after that. I
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: come on, see the big you've ever told last one?
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: You got so many, he said, I have an end
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: of this pool to choose. I was at ball my
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: daddy station wagon one time. I was taking this girl
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: out on the date in my church choir. But I
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: wanted to be with it in the car. And so
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: what I did was I stopped at the drug still
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: on bought some Ponds cold cream. That was trick me
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: and the fellas used to use back in the day.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: You put Ponds cold cream on the windows. It make
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: it you know, you can't see in the window. And uh,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: I put the Ponds cold cream on the window. Oh,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I got down to pick up. And when I went
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: and picked up, and she came and got in the
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: calm in the station wag, and I bagged out. I
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: couldn't see a damn thing, and I hit my daddy's
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: offender on the fence and toe the head light out.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Can't get cream off no window. Yea, you can get
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: off the window. You can't get it out to crack
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: where the window meets the post. All right, thank you guys,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you're listening. All right. So guys, here's a question for you.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Do you have a hiding place in your home to
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: just have a few minutes alone? You know? I mean
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: everybody should have someplace, some little getaway place that they
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: can have some knee time. For instance, some women like
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: to have what they call a she shed or a
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: small room that they can read in or just chill in.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I you know what, I love the bathroom. Men usually
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: go into the garage or their man cave or the
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: basement or someplace. Uh. Do you take an extended break
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: in your home hiding place? Do you do it every day?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Is the question? Or does your family know not to
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: disturb you when you're in your favorite room or you're
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: hiding place. Come on, Steve, I know you take time
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: for yourself. Yeah, I've always done that. I go, I
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: go to San Diego. You lead a house, Yeah, get
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: the hell out. Can't follow me down there, Damn grandkids
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: know how to use the elevating everything. I'll be damned.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I'm going to San Diego. It's beautiful there. I don't
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: care if it is. They're not there. Clearly you got
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: one yeah, I love. I will be in my bathroom
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: for our words, in the bathroom and the bat because
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: I have a TV in there, and you know I
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: do my makeup, you know. Yeah, I don't mean the water.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: You don't meant no, no, no, my time in the bathroom. No, no, no,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: not there. I just out of part. Yeah, that's a separate,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: rich man. I got my TV right in front of
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the toilet and a computer. Now that's how you go
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: from Now, that's how you don't miss. Nothing goes when
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: I'm watching the game, I just get um going in
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: the bathroom. It's on the wall right in front of you. Yeah,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I ain't done that up a little high where you
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: can keep your head of you don't want to look
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: even keep your head of. Be digestive, tracking more open,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: the slight little What about you tell me I'm in
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: my theater. I can get away from the theater. Do
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: you hear that, rich ass? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, you said
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: a rich ass statement. And I ain't saying that. You said,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: my kids on my grand baby's on the elevator. I
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: ain't saying nothing about your elevating in your house. And
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I ain't even know you're saying I was going because
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I ain't gonna go ahead. Teeth rooms in this shot.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I thought I had it limited. Okay, all right, well
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: y'all pass his elevator on my theater. Hey, junior, which
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: one of your rooms in your house is your theater? Yeah,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: let's hear from the poet. But then what I had
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: to do is take some some drapes and put them
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: on the side of the TV. Make my ass to
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: thee with promoting. I'm gonna make a fiater. Hold on,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: y'all come out to kitchen. Drapes gonna catch you. I'm
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: gonna make a fill that boy. That Paula must be nice.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I ain't be. I'll go to my theater. That nothing.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I can't say nothing. How many seats in the theater?
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I'm not telling so many. They can't find him in there.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Y'all shut up, Steve, go down front, see if he down. Now,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I've gonna take my head down and looking the brock
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: and and see where down. You ask me where I
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: go to get away? That's all I said. Man, Well,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: the Lord is still blessing blessing you. Man. I didn't
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: even know I'm saying. If you're talking to you like
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: you have one I got changed. How I talked to you?
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: How are you talking to him at front? Like? He hand?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: No theater? Now he got a thing I gotta changed.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I talked to him. Man, miss the nephew. Now, hey,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: miss nephew? What time you go down to the then? Head?
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: So Stephen, case you don't make it to San Diego?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: What what room in your home do you go to?
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Where do you go? I go all the way down
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: to the basement. What's done? Done? Then? Just a little man?
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Case you about god? Oh okay, all right, Steve, who
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: all right? Coming up more of today's trending stories on
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and we'll be back in
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: twenty minutes after the hour, right after this. What yeah,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: you're listening to show? How many friends do you guys have?
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I'm not talking about social media friends. I'm talking about
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: real friends. Now. According to a new survey, the average
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: American has about sixteen friends. Of these sixteen friends, yeah yeah,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: they got no damn sixteen, Steve. This is according to
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: a new survey. Yeah yeah, and they say of these,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: they say, of these sixteen friends, three were described as
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: friends for life, five were people they really liked and
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: would hang out with one on one, and the other
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: eight were people the respondent said they liked but would
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: not spend time with them one on one. The survey
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: also found that the average American adult has made a
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: new friend hasn't made a new friend in five years.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Because Steve, I got to ask you. It begs the question,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: how many friends, real friends do you have? Sixteen or less?
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: Probably got five? Five? You can kind them on one hand.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Two friends, Yeah, I'm talking about ride or did don't
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: give a damn less go top? Five? Yeah, I'm talking
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: about well with it? Five Maybe hard to make new
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: friends at the and I ain't made a friend in
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: five years? How well at work? At work, Steve, that's
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: where you are all the time? Friends you got? Tommy,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: I always say three sage, all right, we'll be back.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: We'll pick this conversation up when when we come back
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: at thirty three after the hour you're listening to show.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: All right, Steve, we were talking about how many friends
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: do we have. There's a new survey and it says
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: that the average American has about sixteen friends. Of those sixteen, well, well,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: this is how they break it down. Three were described
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: as friends for life. Three you have for life. Five
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: were people you really liked and you would hang out
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: with one on one, and then the other eight were
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: people the respondents said they liked, but they wouldn't spend
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: time with them one on one. Then does not your friend? Yeah,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: and then they say the average American adult hasn't made
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: a new friend in five years. And you know why,
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: you don't have time to learn nobody else. Oh I
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: didn't learn you. Yeah. Yeah, and there's a there's a
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: trust factor. Yeah right, I can't believe. Yeah, you get quiet.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: I noticed you get quiet. But it was right, he
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: was on point. Yeah, you ain't got damn to learn nobody. Man.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: But it sounds like with this group right here, we
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: don't use that term loosely, like when I call you
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: a friend. Yeah, come on, yeah, yeah, I can count
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: on you no matter what. Yeah, that's five of them
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: dudes in my world. I'm sixty two years old. And
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: it's about loyalty too. It's about and and and my
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: good ones didn't die. Yeah that's what's cold. Look, I know,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: like my friends for life, Butcher Ricardo, So you know
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: you look at Butcher Ricardo. I've been friends with Manny
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: since I was four. My best friend from from college
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: is Marvel is Marvin Horton. We steal boys do ride. Yeah,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I'm talking about Biggie Wig Okay and Blue I'm talking
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: about man, dudes that to walk off the edge for you. Yeah,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Biggie Wig and Blue Brue. Yeah, they walk off the
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: edge for you. Man. Yeah, that ain't no lie. Ricky
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Lewis good ask brother to man. But I got duds
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: that I call like like Steve Perry, doctor doctor Perry.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Oh this is my dude, man, he could he climb
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: down and hold it? Yeah? What do you call that
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: group that's after friends? But they still cool with you?
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. But you're not in that
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: top You're not in that five. Well maybe it's levels
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: of friends. Yeah, I think I still friends, right, I
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: think that. I think that, And that's what they were saying. Uh.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Some people are with you ride or die, and then
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: others are I know, spend time with them one on one,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, I think they're different levels of friendship
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: because I mean, you know, I call them like New
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: York like short for New York a n y K.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: That's what I call. Just put them in the n
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: y K group, like New York, York. Um, all right,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: well we'll be back with more of the Sea Harvey
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Morning Show, I know, coming up at forty nine after

- 1:17:12Speaker 1: You're listening to show Dave. We're here at the last
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: break of the day. Just one more thing. You're closing remarks,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: What do you have for us today? Well, I think
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: I should talk about dreams because it's such a major
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: component to your success. Dreams are such an important component
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: to success. You can't underplay dreams. See, let me tell
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: you something. Education is necessary for certain fields and professions.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: You want to be a doctor, a lawyer, a dentist,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: a pilot, a scientist, a teacher. Education is so necessary
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: for many professions in this world. But there is nothing,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: and I repeat, there is nothing more important than your dreams.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Your dreams have value. Your dreams wake you up in
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: the morning. The dreams give you hope. You know, I'm
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: not saying education doesn't do that. But education don't wake
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: you up in the morning. It's what you dream and
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: hope or becoming with the education that wakes you up.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: It is your dream that causes you to even get
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: an education. If you want to fly a plane, and
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: that's your dream. Your dream will cause you to do
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: the things necessary to accomplish the dream. That's why I
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: tell people educators in all, if we spent more time
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: talking to our children and school system about their dreams
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: and visions, we can reduce the dropout rate. But what
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: we're doing is we keep talking to kids about the education,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and we're not talking about the kids for the reason
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: for the education. You gotta get your education because you
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: gotta finish school. Finish school for what we have got
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: to take time out to talk about their dreams and visions.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I tell parents all the time, if you're not talking
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: to your kids about dreams every ninety days, that's a mistake. Man,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: that's a mistake because young people change more often than
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: you think. But if you're not revamping your dreams every
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: ninety days as an adult, you're making a mistake because
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: guess what you change Also now you know may not
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: change as often as your children because you become a
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: little bit more subtle when you're older. But you've got
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: to refurbish these dreams. You gotta dust them off. You
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: gotta keep reminding yourself or what the purpose is, because
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: the dream provides you wake up in the morning because
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: of what you dream to be. You get excited when
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: the lawn clock get all goes off because of what
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: you dream to be. Man, don't let nobody fool you. Now,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: listen to me. I'm gonna say this again. Education is
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: important and it's critical to certain things in life, but
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: you can actually make it in this world without one. Now,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: do you need to have some basics under your belt?
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I strongly suggest you do. And I'm not saying at
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: all that you don't need school because you do. School
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: offers you a way to become well rounded. That's the
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: thing that school does for you a great deal. It
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: not only educates you, it gives you social skills. It
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: teaches you how to be well rounded. It teaches you
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: tow to adapt, It teaches you the tool of memorization.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: So I'm not knocking it at all. But what I
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: am saying to you, if you are like me in
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: any way and you just not a school person, what
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: you're gonna do, You can still be something. If you've
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: blown your education opportunity in life, you can still be something.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: If you just don't feel like you can do school again,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: you can still be something. Because the scripture says, a
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: man without a dream or vision shr parish. I'm old
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: the Bible inside out. I don't know if I didn't
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: go to theology school anything, so I can't quote it
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: like people can oftentimes. But I don't really don't recall
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: ever going to Sunday School or any service I've ever
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: been to and read a scripture about how necessary your
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: education was. But I have seen repeatedly that a man
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: without a dream or vision shall parish. See the reason,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: You'll die without the dream of the vision, because without
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: the dream of the vision, you'll give up hope. You've
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: heard so many people saying, keep hope alive, because it's necessary.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: The dream, the vision. What you see for your self,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: your hope for tomorrow, that impossible thing that nobody else
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: can see except you, that thing that floats around in
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: your imagination, that keeps pushing you to make you think
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: that's something out there other than this. For me, if
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: you wake up in the morning and you keep saying
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: yourself mad, that's got to be more to my life
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: than this. That's cause it is. That's because it is.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Your visions and dreams are out there. And let me
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: tell you something else. You got to make your dreams
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: and visions so big, so big that it causes you
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: to overcome all of your fears. See, the fear of
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: failure is the number one cause of failure in this
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: country because people are afraid to fail. But you have
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: to have dreams and visions so big that it just
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: overcomes all of your fears. You've got to want something
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: so big, so dynamic to happen in your life. Man,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: that you've got to make this happen, and the fear
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: is secondary to all of it, and it will cause
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: you to push through. You've got to dream of something
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: so outstanding that an order for it to have to
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: in order for it to happen, you absolutely have to
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: have God's help. If you're dreaming of only stuff that
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: you can accomplish yourself, I got news for you. If
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: you ain't dreaming big enough, start dreaming big, increase your dreams.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: They would change your life. It would change your perspective,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: It would cause your hope to grow. All right, those
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: are my closing remarks. All right, Steve, all right, yes
