- 2:02Speaker 1: I show will good morning everybody. Y'all listening to the
- 2:05Speaker 1: VARs come on dig me not wanting on it. Steve
- 2:08Speaker 1: Harvey got a radio show, Man on man on man.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Grateful for it comes through a huge amount of responsibility.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I didn't really know I was gonna have to be
- 2:19Speaker 1: this responsible, you know. Um, can I share something with y'all?
- 2:23Speaker 1: I started out to Finally I had gotten on track
- 2:27Speaker 1: and was able to see a way to even pursue
- 2:32Speaker 1: my dream. It has been a long, a long trip
- 2:36Speaker 1: that I've been on, and I've gone through so many
- 2:38Speaker 1: phases of it. It is rewarding along the way to
- 2:43Speaker 1: accomplish your dreams. What I'm saying is this, let me
- 2:47Speaker 1: let me put it together, because I got so much
- 2:49Speaker 1: running through my head right now. You know it's it's
- 2:52Speaker 1: one thing to accomplish your dream, but there's joy in
- 2:56Speaker 1: the process of achieving it. See, some people are so
- 3:02Speaker 1: caught up in the goal, the final goal, that they
- 3:07Speaker 1: find no joy, no enjoyment in the process. If you
- 3:13Speaker 1: have found what it is you want to do and
- 3:18Speaker 1: you strike out on that journey, please understand you are
- 3:23Speaker 1: far more blessed than the average person to know what
- 3:27Speaker 1: it is you really want to do, to find your
- 3:31Speaker 1: work in life, your purpose, to find out what direction
- 3:36Speaker 1: you want to go in is such a blessing. The
- 3:39Speaker 1: average person, if you sit down and talk to them,
- 3:42Speaker 1: oftentimes don't have their life on track. And it'd be
- 3:46Speaker 1: some people that you're looking at you think God it
- 3:48Speaker 1: going on because of their appearance, their swagger, or they
- 3:53Speaker 1: walk like it, they talk like it, they look like it.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But if you sit down and talk to the average person,
- 3:58Speaker 1: the average person man does not know what their purpose is,
- 4:04Speaker 1: has not discovered what they want to do, and have
- 4:07Speaker 1: no idea how to get that. If you are on
- 4:10Speaker 1: the other side of that, if you understand your purpose,
- 4:14Speaker 1: if you have an idea of what you want to be,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and you are on your way there, you are truly blessed,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and in that blessing, you must recognize it as a blessing.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You must recognize the fact that you are on the
- 4:31Speaker 1: right side, and that there should be a sense of
- 4:34Speaker 1: accomplishment and a feeling of pride in you that you
- 4:38Speaker 1: are on track to accomplish your goal. See what used
- 4:42Speaker 1: to happen was sometimes I used to keep my nose
- 4:45Speaker 1: so on the grindstone that I wouldn't even look up
- 4:49Speaker 1: and realize. Man, hey, man, I know you're trying to
- 4:53Speaker 1: get here, but Steve, hold on, man, can't you see
- 4:56Speaker 1: what you've done so far? Can't you find just some
- 5:00Speaker 1: in the process. See, a lot of us lose the
- 5:03Speaker 1: joy of the blessings God has given us because we're
- 5:06Speaker 1: looking at the end. Talbot, I ain't there yet. You
- 5:09Speaker 1: on your way. I'm gonna give you an example. I
- 5:13Speaker 1: had a friend who told me that they wanted to
- 5:16Speaker 1: be a million now, and they asked me some questions
- 5:19Speaker 1: and I told him, so they started the process, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: I am telling you, this dude works extremely hard. So
- 5:30Speaker 1: about a year later we were talking. He had found
- 5:34Speaker 1: this business, he had set his goal, and he was
- 5:40Speaker 1: working towards him. Then about two years later I ran
- 5:44Speaker 1: up into him again. We were talking about it and everything.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It's a man, really really appreciate the advice. He said, Man,
- 5:50Speaker 1: but this is all jacked up, man, because I still
- 5:54Speaker 1: ain't made that million I was talking about. I said, well, hey, man,
- 5:57Speaker 1: just just keep at it. It's coming. He a, man,
- 6:00Speaker 1: keep at it. Man. You know how long I've been
- 6:02Speaker 1: doing this? Been two years now. And I didn't say
- 6:06Speaker 1: that to him, but I said to myself, yeah, two years.
- 6:09Speaker 1: He said, Man, I've been grinding so long. Man, it's
- 6:11Speaker 1: just it ain't having it from me. I said, wait
- 6:14Speaker 1: a minute, man, hold on, hold on. I said, about
- 6:17Speaker 1: how much you're making right now a year, man, about
- 6:20Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty thousand. I quit breathing. I said, well,
- 6:26Speaker 1: my man, two years ago you didn't have a clue.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Two years later, you're making a quarter of a million dollars.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I say, Man, do you understand how blessed you are?
- 6:40Speaker 1: I said, man, your family was about to get put
- 6:43Speaker 1: out two years ago. You don't bought a house? Yeah, man,
- 6:48Speaker 1: but this ain't the house. I really won't. Ohoa Pardner,
- 6:51Speaker 1: WHOA I got that? I got that house. You really
- 6:55Speaker 1: won't make Mike call five eight million. I don't know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: but man, y'all gott a high house. You're making the payments,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you driving. You ain't out no more? I said, holder. Man,
- 7:04Speaker 1: you got to stop. I said, you got to stop.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I said, man, because right now, man, you you coming
- 7:08Speaker 1: across as real ungrateful to me. And so he said, man,
- 7:11Speaker 1: why are you tripping like that? Man? Man, you act
- 7:14Speaker 1: like don't nobody want to have nothing but you? I said,
- 7:16Speaker 1: whoa man, where are you going with this conversation? I said, Oh,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I didn't come to you. I just came to you
- 7:20Speaker 1: and ask you how you doing. And I'm trying to
- 7:23Speaker 1: point out to you that the journey that you started on,
- 7:27Speaker 1: that you are on your way, and you are in
- 7:29Speaker 1: the process of accomplishing your goals. And can you not
- 7:32Speaker 1: feel some joy and some pleasure in your accomplishment. Quit
- 7:36Speaker 1: tripping on the fact that you ain't made a million yet.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You on your way. You don't went from your He thought,
- 7:42Speaker 1: this dude was making fifteen thousand dollars a year. You
- 7:44Speaker 1: making quarter of a million dollars in two years. May
- 7:46Speaker 1: come on, man, can't you see? Can't you see? So
- 7:50Speaker 1: he said? Eventually a man I kind of see what
- 7:53Speaker 1: you're saying. But that ain't about nothing to me because
- 7:55Speaker 1: I ran up into him a year and a half later.
- 8:00Speaker 1: How you're doing, man, Man, I showed, wish I'd appreciate
- 8:04Speaker 1: it my life when I had it like that? I said,
- 8:06Speaker 1: what you mean, had it like that? Man? Just fell
- 8:09Speaker 1: on some hard times? Man, I'm right back why I was.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And then we talked. I said, hey, man, don't worry
- 8:15Speaker 1: about it. I said. Once you know how to accomplish something,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I said, you just reapply the same principles and start
- 8:20Speaker 1: on over again. Man, you know how hard it is
- 8:23Speaker 1: or be to start over. Okay, my man, hold up, partner,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you can't do yourself like this again. First you wasn't
- 8:29Speaker 1: grateful for what you had. Now you're looking at the
- 8:31Speaker 1: fact that you might have to start over, and you
- 8:33Speaker 1: know how hard it is to start over. Maybe God said, okay,
- 8:38Speaker 1: you ain't happy with this? Okay, didn't handle it your way?
- 8:42Speaker 1: You obviously ain't happy with the way I'm bringing it
- 8:44Speaker 1: into your life. You want to handle it your weight,
- 8:46Speaker 1: Go ahead and handle it, because he will let you
- 8:48Speaker 1: have it your way. Can I tell you that he
- 8:51Speaker 1: will let you do it exactly the way you want
- 8:53Speaker 1: to it, because he gives us all the power of choice.
- 8:55Speaker 1: So then maybe he said, Okay, you don't appreciate the
- 8:58Speaker 1: way I'm doing it. You don't the favor I'm showing you.
- 9:01Speaker 1: You think it's take it too long. I'm gonna let
- 9:03Speaker 1: you do it your way. I'm not gonna turn my
- 9:05Speaker 1: back on you. I'm just gonna let you do it
- 9:07Speaker 1: your way. Just just say. Maybe he said that, and
- 9:10Speaker 1: now he right back where it was. So what I
- 9:12Speaker 1: try to get the young cat to understand was, man,
- 9:16Speaker 1: appreciate your life for what it is, because like life,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Jenny's got that song that he got out off this album.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Still I still believe it could have been worse. And
- 9:26Speaker 1: now that it is worse, what's on your mind now, folks,
- 9:31Speaker 1: if you are on that side of life where you
- 9:33Speaker 1: have figured out what you want to do, you know
- 9:35Speaker 1: how you're gonna get that, and you know your purpose.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You're accomplishing what the majority of people never ever do.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So be grateful for your process. Don't tumble yourself, don't
- 9:45Speaker 1: throw yourself off to cliff. It's gonna be all right.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Success takes a measure of time. It is not easy.
- 9:52Speaker 1: If success were easy, everybody would be successful. You're listening
- 9:57Speaker 1: to ladies and gentlemen might have your undivided attention. Please.
- 10:05Speaker 1: That is something about to go down that I need
- 10:09Speaker 1: to share with you. It's called the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:13Speaker 1: In the words of nephew Tommy. B ye ready. Don't
- 10:18Speaker 1: know whether he does that or why he says that,
- 10:20Speaker 1: but I thought i'd used it today. Felt good. Be
- 10:22Speaker 1: ye ready. It's the pronoun that we're going with. This's
- 10:26Speaker 1: not a pronoun, nor is it. Why am I using
- 10:28Speaker 1: English lessons today when I don't know none. All I
- 10:33Speaker 1: know is I before ye except at the sea. That's
- 10:35Speaker 1: the only thing I remember, and that's called it Ryan.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I is sometimes why I remember that, But I don't
- 10:42Speaker 1: never remember that one because every time I see your
- 10:44Speaker 1: name has got a wire on it, I say, ye, thanks, jentleman.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry. Welcome back, Steve. Yeah, back back back again, Califarell,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Hey Steve, what's happening, so girl Junior morning? Ump'm me
- 11:00Speaker 1: a dog Yeah? Yeah, Nephew Tommy, Oh, get doggie dog
- 11:05Speaker 1: top of the morning, Aggie, Doggie? Doghk me delay that? No?
- 11:11Speaker 1: I hit my button? My bad? You mean Doggie doggie,
- 11:16Speaker 1: dog not. I will say this thought. I'm back, but
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm very sore and uh stealing some pain. But I'm
- 11:27Speaker 1: pushing through because the God I said made me a lion.
- 11:32Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, the healer, healer, healer? And what were
- 11:36Speaker 1: the men you were on that you told us about earlier?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oxy mo name? I love God. Now what is y'all
- 11:51Speaker 1: doing to the meat over there? Steve? Focus? Focus? You
- 11:55Speaker 1: come at the early? Wow? This early? I start, Hey,
- 12:01Speaker 1: when I'm at the ranch for these bars. I started
- 12:03Speaker 1: barbeque in the moment I wake up. I bothered you
- 12:08Speaker 1: all day. It's six o'clock the five hat already, dog,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I've been up. I made this five. I'm making the
- 12:18Speaker 1: fire in the dog this morning. Yeah, dog, I come
- 12:22Speaker 1: to be country. I praised God for this dog. I
- 12:28Speaker 1: wish I wasn't doing the radio show because I'd be fishing. Okay,
- 12:31Speaker 1: what you doing the radio show? Yeah? I'm mad about it. Well, Steve,
- 12:37Speaker 1: you were missed. People love you, they want to hear you.
- 12:41Speaker 1: They miss you were missed. What happened? Yeah, tell us
- 12:45Speaker 1: about it. I had surgery. I had hernia surgery, and
- 12:49Speaker 1: I wasn't anticipating the swelling and the pain. I really
- 12:53Speaker 1: wasn't because you know, when I got out the hospital
- 12:56Speaker 1: on Monday, I went straight to the Four Seas Sasons
- 13:00Speaker 1: to have lunch because I was stealing a hospital medication
- 13:03Speaker 1: and I could walk. Boy, let me tell you something
- 13:06Speaker 1: that evening when that hospital medicine wall. Yeah, boy, I
- 13:10Speaker 1: was trying to I had everybody down that Drew still
- 13:12Speaker 1: buying that oxy moron. Okay, cotton, I don't take stuff
- 13:17Speaker 1: with the word cotton in it. I've been boy cotton
- 13:20Speaker 1: cotton every since. Like, okay, surgery. That didn't ring a
- 13:27Speaker 1: bell to you that you should, you know, take it
- 13:29Speaker 1: easy a little bit. They told me, all right, hang on,
- 13:33Speaker 1: hang on to that thought. We gotta take care of
- 13:35Speaker 1: some things right here. Coming up at thirty two after
- 13:37Speaker 1: the hour, trending political news, and we'll get back to
- 13:40Speaker 1: Steve's story that's coming up right after this. You're listening
- 13:44Speaker 1: to show, all right, Steve. Before we get to the
- 13:48Speaker 1: rest of your surgery story, we gotta tell you this
- 13:51Speaker 1: and trending political news. During a meeting in the Oval Office,
- 13:54Speaker 1: President Trump told George Stephanopolis of ABC News that he
- 13:58Speaker 1: wouldn't necessarily alert the FBI if approached by a foreign
- 14:03Speaker 1: country with information on the twenty twenty election, opponents simpone.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Don't let you down at all. History is repeating itself,
- 14:14Speaker 1: isn't it? The president? The President said, it's not an interference.
- 14:19Speaker 1: They have information. I think i'd take it. Take a
- 14:22Speaker 1: listen your campaign this time, right, if foreigners, if Russia,
- 14:26Speaker 1: if China, if someone else offers you information on opponent,
- 14:28Speaker 1: should the accept or should they call the FBI? I
- 14:31Speaker 1: think maybe you do most I think you might want
- 14:34Speaker 1: to listen. I don't. There's nothing well worth listening. If
- 14:37Speaker 1: somebody called from a country Norway, we have information on
- 14:42Speaker 1: your opponent, oh, I think i'd want to hear. If
- 14:45Speaker 1: you want that kind of interference in our elections. It's
- 14:47Speaker 1: not an interference. They have information. I think i'd take it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: If I thought there was something wrong, I'd go maybe
- 14:52Speaker 1: to the FBI, if I thought there was something wrong.
- 14:55Speaker 1: But when somebody comes up with APPA research, right, they
- 14:58Speaker 1: come up with APPA research, Oh, let's call the FBI.
- 15:01Speaker 1: The FBI doesn't have enough agents to take care of it.
- 15:04Speaker 1: But you go and talk honestly to Congressman. They all
- 15:07Speaker 1: do it. They always have, and that's the way it is.
- 15:10Speaker 1: It's called oppo research. It's called collusion. That's what it's called.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's you. Yeah, he is. The sad part of this
- 15:25Speaker 1: is the Republican Party will act like this is normal. Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 1: The danger of Donald Trump getting another four years will
- 15:36Speaker 1: be he would change the way politics is viewed and
- 15:40Speaker 1: handled worldwide. Allies won't take America's word for nothing. It
- 15:47Speaker 1: would just be chaotic because the way this dude leads.
- 15:50Speaker 1: We can't take four more years of the division that
- 15:53Speaker 1: he's created in this country. The sad part of it
- 15:55Speaker 1: is there are so many Republicans that's going, you know what,
- 16:00Speaker 1: He's just fine, but you cannot hear this type of
- 16:03Speaker 1: thing and think this is who you want. I don't understand.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The Republican Party is supposed to be the moral party,
- 16:10Speaker 1: the GOP, the party of morality and religious and upholding
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Constitution. And you let this guy make all these
- 16:19Speaker 1: types of statements that borderline on damn near treason, collusion
- 16:24Speaker 1: or whatever you want to call and they okay with it,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and you have to go why why is it okay?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Because if I'm President Obama had done any of this, please,
- 16:38Speaker 1: any of this, please? Please? Any are you kidding me? Man?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Any of this. Yeah, he couldn't even entertain the thought
- 16:47Speaker 1: of doing any of this. Russia. I don't give a
- 16:53Speaker 1: damn if it is Norway. Yeah, Russia, he yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 1: well Norway probably might not have enough, but so Russia
- 17:06Speaker 1: had it. You're saying the same thing, all right, Okay,
- 17:09Speaker 1: enough about him. Back to your surgery. That was way
- 17:11Speaker 1: more interesting. Yeah, yeah, is truly unfair. Yeah, why he's
- 17:20Speaker 1: not the god? No, no, you were. My surgery was
- 17:24Speaker 1: a success, right, yeah, man's the swelling and the sore.
- 17:29Speaker 1: This was a little bit more than I had bargained for.
- 17:31Speaker 1: You know, I'm used to bouncing right back. It's been
- 17:35Speaker 1: a little bit more challenging than I thought. And uh
- 17:38Speaker 1: but I'm fine. You know, God is good. But coming
- 17:43Speaker 1: out of anesthesia, I probably ain't who you want. My
- 17:48Speaker 1: wife said Steve, I had to go in there. In there,
- 17:53Speaker 1: she said, it was six doctors standing around you. She said,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I don't even remember that. She said. Steve told all
- 17:59Speaker 1: of y'all get out of my face. Where my wife.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I will all y'all out my face? Where my wife?
- 18:08Speaker 1: She said, Steve. Marjorie told me. Margie says, Steve, I
- 18:11Speaker 1: have no doubt that you love me. It was talking
- 18:14Speaker 1: to the people so crazy, she said, And then you
- 18:16Speaker 1: just held me for really, Stephen, I kid you, not
- 18:19Speaker 1: ten straight minutes. You wouldn't that, baby, I don't remember
- 18:24Speaker 1: none of that. She could. Man, it was nice though.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I told her anesthesiologists. I said, right before you to
- 18:35Speaker 1: administer the drug, I want you to tell me you're
- 18:37Speaker 1: putting it in. She said, Okay, she said, was talking
- 18:40Speaker 1: about the minister the drug. I said, do you know Jesus?
- 18:43Speaker 1: She said, yes, I do. I said, let him use you. Huh.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I say that to all my doctors. Yeah. If you
- 18:50Speaker 1: don't know Jesus, you find somebody else to do this. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: right now. I don't want you to get me wrong.
- 19:03Speaker 1: If it's a Jewish doctor, I'm fine with that. I
- 19:05Speaker 1: don't want anybody to misunderstand that I'm saying. If you
- 19:10Speaker 1: but I'm just talking about God really and accepting faith. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 1: if you're a Muslim, but do you believe in God?
- 19:18Speaker 1: I need you to have some faith in God. You're
- 19:19Speaker 1: somebody greater than you. And I just asked all of him,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know, just let him use you, and he always do.
- 19:26Speaker 1: That's my prayer for I go in and it works
- 19:29Speaker 1: and I'm back and I'm I'm out here today as
- 19:31Speaker 1: the day that we get started with the boys. I
- 19:34Speaker 1: got two hundred and forty boys at the camp. I
- 19:37Speaker 1: just added another young man from a foster care program
- 19:40Speaker 1: who couldn't get in the program. He's out of foster
- 19:43Speaker 1: care at eighteen right, but he's nineteen years old and
- 19:48Speaker 1: he wanted to come to the camp. But the rule
- 19:50Speaker 1: is you have to be eighteen. But I accepted him
- 19:52Speaker 1: yesterday at the golf tournament because he came out to
- 19:54Speaker 1: the golf tournament. He just wanted to meet me. He
- 19:56Speaker 1: said he never had a minta and he wants a minute.
- 19:59Speaker 1: So I put him in the CA camp anyway for today,
- 20:02Speaker 1: so he'll be down there to dates. I added another
- 20:05Speaker 1: boy last week from the Family Feud audience, fifteen year
- 20:10Speaker 1: old kid. I was talking to him, he said, man,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I always wanted to meet you. I said, how is
- 20:13Speaker 1: your mom? But she's at work. My guardian bought me.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I said where your dad? He said, who's that? I said,
- 20:20Speaker 1: you don't have a father. He said he don't love
- 20:23Speaker 1: me and he just busted out crime. So I said
- 20:26Speaker 1: he had the camp, so he'll be at the camp today.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Those are the things we're doing. Man. Yeah, man, this
- 20:32Speaker 1: is your man. You love this Besides Christmas, this is
- 20:35Speaker 1: your favorite. This really is. Yeah, you're working through Look

- 27:09Speaker 1: tell you what. I'll tell you what. Let me say
- 27:11Speaker 1: this right here. I'm gonna say this right here to

- 27:54Speaker 1: it's any other dog you got up in the place,
- 27:56Speaker 1: please believe that dog is gonna get right along with
- 27:59Speaker 1: your Okay, well, I got I got one more value
- 28:04Speaker 1: to say to me because you took a little too
- 28:06Speaker 1: far flying with me and a dog. Now you're trying
- 28:09Speaker 1: to talk about what's going on in my household and
- 28:11Speaker 1: my wife. Please believe nineteen seas where you about to
- 28:14Speaker 1: find me? Let me tell you who else up here
- 28:16Speaker 1: in nineteenth seat is waiting on me all I'm about

- 28:23Speaker 1: to know who else in here? Man, So I'm gonna
- 28:26Speaker 1: tell you this here, Nephew Thomment from the Steve Harpin
- 28:28Speaker 1: Morning Show is up in here in nineteenth safe. What
- 28:33Speaker 1: the hell, nephew, this nephew, Timmy god, man, you got
- 28:44Speaker 1: me cousin and my mom gonna be listening to this station.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Your neighbor Gerald got thank you about the neighbor times. Man,
- 28:55Speaker 1: Hey man, you gotta tell me this baby, what's the
- 28:58Speaker 1: baddest radio station in lane? The Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 29:02Speaker 1: and Nephew, time is crazy. I can't believe all right,
- 29:12Speaker 1: thank you nephew. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 29:15Speaker 1: Entertainment News right after this. You're listening to show, all right.
- 29:22Speaker 1: In today's entertainment news, Kiba Gooding Junior will turn himself
- 29:26Speaker 1: into NYPD today for allegedly groping a woman in a
- 29:30Speaker 1: New York nightclub, but on camera, he insists he did
- 29:33Speaker 1: nothing wrong and there's hard evidence to prove it. Now.
- 29:36Speaker 1: According to TMZ, Cuba is expected to be booked for
- 29:40Speaker 1: a misdemeter charge of forcible touching. Cuba says the calm
- 29:44Speaker 1: the claim that he grabbed a woman's breast Sunday night
- 29:46Speaker 1: at Magic Our rooftop bar and Lounge in Manhattan is
- 29:50Speaker 1: absolutely untrue. He says he was there partying with friends
- 29:54Speaker 1: and pose for pictures with fans, but says no one
- 29:57Speaker 1: was touched inappropriately, but not even by accident. Huba says
- 30:02Speaker 1: there's also surveillance video that will show he's innocent and
- 30:05Speaker 1: he will trust the system, all right. So you know
- 30:09Speaker 1: what's troubling is you can make this accusation and they
- 30:14Speaker 1: just issue a warrant for your arrest. That's what it looks, right. Well,
- 30:18Speaker 1: he turned himself into he's cooperating with the investigation with
- 30:23Speaker 1: the special victim junin so and if he says he
- 30:26Speaker 1: has surveillance video, well the club does where he was,
- 30:30Speaker 1: they have surveillance videos. So he's gonna wait, he says,
- 30:33Speaker 1: that's gonna prove him innocent. But here's what the troubling
- 30:37Speaker 1: part of it is. If they find a man innocent
- 30:41Speaker 1: and a man is not guilty or a woman is
- 30:45Speaker 1: not guilty of a crime, and they were accused of
- 30:49Speaker 1: the crime, and they find out that the woman or
- 30:53Speaker 1: man was not guilty of it, the person who accused him,
- 30:57Speaker 1: they get to just walk away. There's no penalty if
- 31:01Speaker 1: you accuse a person and it comes to find out
- 31:04Speaker 1: that they're innocent, and that that's troubling. Man, that's troubling,
- 31:10Speaker 1: you know. And I'm not saying that because I'm friends
- 31:14Speaker 1: with Cuba and I liked the brother, but I'm just
- 31:16Speaker 1: saying as as he as it bears out, Let's suppose
- 31:20Speaker 1: that they find out through surveillance footage that he is innocent. Now,
- 31:27Speaker 1: if he guilty, he got to pay, right, But if
- 31:31Speaker 1: you're innocent, what happens to the person who made the accusation. Dude,
- 31:38Speaker 1: what happens to them? Well, yeah, we have to wait
- 31:43Speaker 1: and find out. Definitely my bad Cuba. Yeah, I don't
- 31:49Speaker 1: do it. Hopefully it'll be more than that, but you know, yeah,
- 31:53Speaker 1: based on past situations, it won't be. But hopefully this
- 31:57Speaker 1: didn't happen, and if it did, you know, like, let
- 32:01Speaker 1: justice take its course. Um and other entertainment Knews Steve,
- 32:05Speaker 1: we all knew that this couldn't be real. Justin Bieber
- 32:08Speaker 1: says a challenge he threw down for Tom Cruise it
- 32:10Speaker 1: was just a joke. On Sunday, Justin sent out a
- 32:14Speaker 1: very bizarre tweet asking UFC head Dana White to set
- 32:18Speaker 1: up a rumble in the octagon. He even suggested to Tom, listen,
- 32:22Speaker 1: if you don't take this fight, you're scared. But yesterday
- 32:25Speaker 1: Justin Bieber admitted that Tom Cruise, uh, you know who's
- 32:28Speaker 1: fifty eight, Uh, would would kick his butt. He added
- 32:32Speaker 1: that if Tom had accepted the challenge, he'd have to
- 32:35Speaker 1: get in some really good shape. So why did he
- 32:37Speaker 1: send out the tweet in the first place, people are asking, Well,
- 32:40Speaker 1: he just finished watching an interview with Tom Cruise and
- 32:43Speaker 1: had the Hollywood Star on his mind. So he had
- 32:45Speaker 1: Toms on his mind. Yet he must seen him run
- 32:48Speaker 1: in Michigan. Yeah, and he does all his own stunts. Yeah, yea.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Well you know at fifty eight, that's really good after
- 32:56Speaker 1: you get through smoking weed. Any well, you see that
- 33:02Speaker 1: tweet right after that? Yeah, what didn't mean that? All right, Steve,
- 33:16Speaker 1: let's get to the headlines, please, ladies and gentlemen. Miss
- 33:21Speaker 1: Ann trip. Thank you very much, Steve. Thanks everybody out there.
- 33:25Speaker 1: This is a trip with the news. Here we go
- 33:27Speaker 1: on Capitol Hill. The House Oversight Committee is voted to
- 33:30Speaker 1: hold Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary William Ross
- 33:35Speaker 1: in contempt of Congress for failing to turn over subpoena documents. However,
- 33:39Speaker 1: President Trump he's using his executive privilege in connection with
- 33:43Speaker 1: request for those documents. The ones that we're talking about
- 33:46Speaker 1: actually are related to his administration's recent decision to add
- 33:50Speaker 1: a question about citizenship to the upcoming census form. The
- 33:53Speaker 1: upcoming census form will say are you a citizen of
- 33:56Speaker 1: the United States? It's never said that before. Even so,
- 33:59Speaker 1: though President Trump says he doesn't understand really what all
- 34:01Speaker 1: the fuss is about, I think it's totally ridiculous that
- 34:04Speaker 1: we would have a census without asking, But the Supreme
- 34:07Speaker 1: Court is going to be ruling on it soon. I
- 34:10Speaker 1: think when a census goes out, you should find out
- 34:12Speaker 1: whether or not and you have the right to ask
- 34:14Speaker 1: whether or not somebody is a citizen of the United States.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Tom says he expects the matter to be ultimately decided
- 34:20Speaker 1: by the courts. Democrats are against a census question because
- 34:23Speaker 1: they say it's a way to frighten minorities into not
- 34:26Speaker 1: taking part in the system. If you don't say that
- 34:29Speaker 1: you acknowledge five people in this house or whatever, or
- 34:32Speaker 1: you have four people in your home, well you get
- 34:34Speaker 1: less representation in Congress and stuff like that. Also, you're
- 34:37Speaker 1: more hesitant to a vote. And one of the there
- 34:40Speaker 1: is a word that there was a Republican status who
- 34:43Speaker 1: said that to have a a census question that said
- 34:47Speaker 1: citizenship would also make things better. They say for white people.
- 34:52Speaker 1: They use that term, that would be better for whites
- 34:54Speaker 1: in this country. The wife of former Red Sox slugger
- 34:57Speaker 1: David Ortis says that he's continued to recover after being
- 34:59Speaker 1: shot in the back in a bar in his native
- 35:01Speaker 1: Dominican Republic However, he's listed in guarded condition and is
- 35:05Speaker 1: expected to remain in intensive care for the time being
- 35:07Speaker 1: because once he got here from the Dominican Republic, once
- 35:10Speaker 1: he got to Boston, he was also and he also
- 35:13Speaker 1: went again and underwent another surgery. There's no word now
- 35:17Speaker 1: out of the dr about that. There's a total of
- 35:20Speaker 1: six suspects, however, under arrest in the Dominican Republic in
- 35:23Speaker 1: connection with Ortiz's attempted murder, including they say the alleged shooter.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Still no word of emotive, but they say the alleged
- 35:29Speaker 1: shooter got seventy eight hundred dollars to shoot Rui the
- 35:32Speaker 1: Ortiz in the back. This is sad. The New York
- 35:35Speaker 1: Times says it turns out that the master recordings of
- 35:37Speaker 1: some of the greatest musicians in American music history were
- 35:40Speaker 1: destroyed in a fire that ripped through Universal Studios back
- 35:43Speaker 1: in two thousand and eight. They're just admitting it now.
- 35:45Speaker 1: The report says the recordings were in a vault which
- 35:48Speaker 1: included about a half a million songs, some dating back
- 35:50Speaker 1: as far as the nineteen forties, and the master recordings
- 35:53Speaker 1: lost includes the works of Billy Holliday, Lewis Armstrong, Chuck Berry,
- 35:57Speaker 1: Wretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, so many other great singers. It's
- 36:00Speaker 1: just gone looks like a drug suspect in Florida says
- 36:03Speaker 1: that the old adages is playing there's a nose on
- 36:05Speaker 1: your face is wrong. Insist that the white powder up
- 36:08Speaker 1: and around his nostls was not his cocaine. I guess
- 36:11Speaker 1: he thought it was fairy dust. Now back to the
- 36:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening and trending sports news.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Game six of the NBA Finals tonight, Junior, What you got,
- 36:23Speaker 1: what you're thinking? What was on your mind? You know?
- 36:25Speaker 1: U h, Tommy Katie had surgery, so let's you know,
- 36:28Speaker 1: let's go ahead and knocking those he did have certain
- 36:30Speaker 1: it was successful on his achilles tendon. You know, said
- 36:33Speaker 1: he gonna be out for about eight to twelve months
- 36:35Speaker 1: or so. So really, yeah, man, you know he's gonna
- 36:39Speaker 1: miss prout of another season. He's gonna miss an NBA season.
- 36:41Speaker 1: You know, Kawhi Letter had the same injury he did.
- 36:44Speaker 1: That's yes, Kawhi had the exact same injury. So he's
- 36:47Speaker 1: gonna be out, but he's still gonna probably sign somewhere
- 36:49Speaker 1: and he's probably gonna get a mac deal anyway. He's
- 36:52Speaker 1: just that good. Yeah, year on him. Yeah, waiting, you're
- 36:56Speaker 1: waiting year for him to come back for Game six?
- 36:58Speaker 1: Is tonight? Any any suits, any thoughts? Yeah, I'm pulling
- 37:03Speaker 1: for Golden State. And you know why I'm pulling for
- 37:06Speaker 1: Golden State now, because when Katie went down and the
- 37:09Speaker 1: crowd started cheering that, that ticked me off. Man. Now
- 37:14Speaker 1: the players to the players on the raptors came but
- 37:20Speaker 1: you don't clap for that? What's wrong with y'all? And
- 37:23Speaker 1: they were very you know, because they feel they they
- 37:26Speaker 1: to catch. That's actually an arena that goes to war.
- 37:29Speaker 1: They don't want nobody to go down like that because
- 37:32Speaker 1: it could be down. But after Toronto, after the Canadians
- 37:37Speaker 1: did that and booled and cheered that, brother, I said,
- 37:40Speaker 1: cam through, let's going back to Golden State. Let's warm
- 37:43Speaker 1: the ass. Let's head on up north and cook them.
- 37:47Speaker 1: And I said, oh wait, wait see, let Junior tell
- 37:51Speaker 1: him what Quake said, said he understanding the family. When
- 37:55Speaker 1: you've been cheering for a losing franchise for that low Hell, yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 1: you're supposed to leave, said, we ain't won ever. We
- 38:04Speaker 1: finally out and then the best playoff go down. We
- 38:07Speaker 1: got a better chance. Shire Ship say that. He said,
- 38:16Speaker 1: if an old lady eighty eight years old, she a
- 38:18Speaker 1: cowboy Frian, I'll push her to doctor Chai. I push
- 38:21Speaker 1: your dough that he's out do because if she get
- 38:24Speaker 1: that building, she don't give more inspiration. Got all that
- 38:31Speaker 1: I don't kill. Yeah, they were wrong, they know they
- 38:35Speaker 1: were wrong. Her own golden stay warm and don't let
- 38:40Speaker 1: Steff get hot off the gate. I'm telling it gonna
- 38:42Speaker 1: be tough. If him and Clay get to him, it's
- 38:45Speaker 1: going to go down. And Drake gonna not say nothing
- 38:49Speaker 1: to Draymond. Don't say nothing. No for sure, No Raymond can't,
- 38:56Speaker 1: he can't get none. He gonna be nice. He gonna
- 38:58Speaker 1: be out if if he won't be playing games, even
- 39:01Speaker 1: if you get another tich, he good. All right? So
- 39:04Speaker 1: coming up next step thirty four after the hour, time
- 39:07Speaker 1: to talk about the mentoring camp. Steve. We talked to
- 39:10Speaker 1: touchdown a little bit already, but we're gonna kick off
- 39:12Speaker 1: of this. Is it kicking off the Steve and Marjorie
- 39:15Speaker 1: mentoring camp this week in Georgia. Steve is there. We'll
- 39:18Speaker 1: talk about it right after at three you're listening show. Well.
- 39:26Speaker 1: This week kicks off the Steven Marjorie Harvey Mentoring Camp.
- 39:30Speaker 1: The mission of the camp is to teach young men
- 39:32Speaker 1: principles of manhood and of course, to create responsible leaders. So, Steve,
- 39:37Speaker 1: we got to ask you, how excited are you? And
- 39:40Speaker 1: are you ready? Yeah? Man, it's just so, it's a
- 39:44Speaker 1: very all it's important thing. Man. I love these boys.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I love the changes I see in their lives. Some
- 39:51Speaker 1: tremendous stories. The kids sending me a picture today. Oh
- 39:56Speaker 1: not nick Yo, it's my cat's name. He He was
- 40:00Speaker 1: on top of the plaque at Morehouse with his graduation
- 40:02Speaker 1: hat on. He said, mister Harvey, we did it. No,
- 40:06Speaker 1: because I helped him through school. Yeah. And he said,
- 40:09Speaker 1: mister Harvey, we did it. And a boy sitting on
- 40:12Speaker 1: top of the More House signed with his graduation cap on.
- 40:15Speaker 1: He graduated from Morehouse. That's just another little dude that's
- 40:18Speaker 1: been coming to the program for years. Accomplishment told you
- 40:22Speaker 1: about the young cat that's up doing the closing remarks
- 40:25Speaker 1: on Sunday. This young man got his call into the
- 40:30Speaker 1: ministry eight years ago at sixteen years old. He got
- 40:35Speaker 1: called by God to the ministry. He's a minister in LA.
- 40:38Speaker 1: He does pop up shops for millennials and he's doing
- 40:42Speaker 1: the closing ceremony. He surprised me at the camp and
- 40:45Speaker 1: then I got another cat that does all the pictures
- 40:47Speaker 1: for the camp. He came up yesterday. We surprised him
- 40:51Speaker 1: paying for his last year of college because he wasn't
- 40:53Speaker 1: gonna be able to go, so we just took it
- 40:56Speaker 1: over and paid for his final year of college and
- 41:00Speaker 1: so he could go to school. It's just a lot
- 41:02Speaker 1: of lives, man. Now he gets changed with these boys,
- 41:05Speaker 1: you know. And let me encourage everybody. You don't have
- 41:09Speaker 1: to be famous or wealthy to change your boy's life.
- 41:12Speaker 1: You just have to be able to sit him down
- 41:14Speaker 1: and tell him about manhood. That's all they want to know.
- 41:17Speaker 1: They just want to know how to be men, and
- 41:19Speaker 1: if you can show it to him, it can change
- 41:21Speaker 1: their life. I love it. Great program, exciting. Well right
- 41:27Speaker 1: now I'm bob your cure so of the morning though,
- 41:33Speaker 1: why I'm doing just doing chicken and salmon right now? Okay, okay, okay,
- 41:41Speaker 1: but who you're cooking? Fun thought? Sounds like himself? Who
- 41:47Speaker 1: all want to come through here? Oh? Okay, my son
- 41:51Speaker 1: is here beaty here, boomerang here, that's five people that
- 42:00Speaker 1: dude from making you got some earl camels? Dog couldn't
- 42:05Speaker 1: find none. Man, But do you still eat that? Steve? What?
- 42:13Speaker 1: I know? That's what I wanted him to say. What
- 42:19Speaker 1: I don't know your restrictions at the rant? What else
- 42:26Speaker 1: do you throw out the window when you get to
- 42:28Speaker 1: the rant? Do you cuss down there much? No? Not
- 42:32Speaker 1: that much? Just air and describe your outfit, Steve looking
- 42:39Speaker 1: like Indiana Jones down there? Got he got that knife?
- 42:45Speaker 1: I put the knife phone as soon as I finished radio. Yes,
- 42:48Speaker 1: both of them for the boys, you know, for the boys. Yeah,
- 42:54Speaker 1: what do you mean? Well, you're not whipping me, Steve?
- 43:00Speaker 1: You think they're gonna try you crazy? I'm not gonna
- 43:05Speaker 1: stab you, dad. It's a deterrent, right, right. You see
- 43:08Speaker 1: these knives, you just go jump on somebody else, fall
- 43:11Speaker 1: back who they jump on? They just ain't gonna be
- 43:14Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah No. The knives
- 43:16Speaker 1: ain't for stabbing nobody. It's a deterrent. Yeah. No, I
- 43:19Speaker 1: like insurance. You don't really need insurantil you diting? Right?
- 43:24Speaker 1: So do you have on camouflaged khaki's jeans what today.
- 43:29Speaker 1: It's all khaki right now, I probably yeah, I'm probably
- 43:31Speaker 1: gonna go change into some camel huh, you know, and
- 43:34Speaker 1: some assid shirts. And you know, I got some Columbia shirts,
- 43:37Speaker 1: my fishing shirts. I supposed to go fishing with my
- 43:40Speaker 1: buddy today, brass or bass pro. Come down here, kindle,
- 43:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, comes down, Probably go fishing with him today.
- 43:47Speaker 1: A little hard for me to sit on the boat
- 43:49Speaker 1: right now, because I got a squat to get down
- 43:51Speaker 1: on the boat. That ain't so bad, but it's getting
- 43:54Speaker 1: up though. At the hell. Oh yeah, I'm going ahead
- 43:57Speaker 1: and take two more than oxy morone. Stop saying that
- 44:05Speaker 1: we gonna go all right, listen, nephew, tell me is
- 44:09Speaker 1: up next with the prank phone call that's coming up
- 44:11Speaker 1: right after this crazy you're listening to show coming up
- 44:17Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, right about four minutes after.
- 44:21Speaker 1: It's my strawberry letter for today, the subject I'm not
- 44:23Speaker 1: letting him go without a fight. All right, okay, but
- 44:28Speaker 1: right now the nephew is in the building with another
- 44:31Speaker 1: ignorant prank phone call. What do you have for us today, nephew,
- 44:35Speaker 1: surely we're gonna call the preacher's wife today. The preacher's wife.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, it's it's tank calling it. I
- 44:46Speaker 1: just started delving into a little bit. It's time people,
- 44:56Speaker 1: the preacher's wife. I'm not feeling to do this failing
- 45:04Speaker 1: because I know I ain't gonna win the preacher's wife.
- 45:07Speaker 1: It is Hello. Hello, I'm trying to reach a Sister
- 45:12Speaker 1: Angela or Sister Angela. Please, how you doing. My name
- 45:16Speaker 1: is Brother Clayton. I'm calling you from our greatest Baptist church.
- 45:19Speaker 1: How are you doing this morning? Oh? I'm fine, I'm fine. Yeah, listen,
- 45:25Speaker 1: I know that your husband, Reverend Jonathan, is actually one
- 45:30Speaker 1: of the candidates that we may be choosing to be
- 45:32Speaker 1: our pastor since our past pastor has stepped down. Yes, yes, yes,
- 45:37Speaker 1: I'm very proud of my husband. I think you'll make
- 45:40Speaker 1: a very good candidate. As a matter of fact, here
- 45:43Speaker 1: at the church, we've been asking a lot of the
- 45:45Speaker 1: deacons and assistant ministers here have been asking different questions,
- 45:52Speaker 1: different things that they would be doing once they became pastor.
- 45:55Speaker 1: You know, like your first one hundred days, what would
- 45:57Speaker 1: you try and change here at the church or try
- 45:59Speaker 1: and make better so to speak? Yet, but what my
- 46:02Speaker 1: husband he's not here right, now that you need to
- 46:04Speaker 1: speak to him. No, not right now. What we decided
- 46:07Speaker 1: to do, Uh, since Angela is actually called the wives
- 46:11Speaker 1: and ask them a few questions. Oh, okay, that's a
- 46:14Speaker 1: little different. Sure, and we don't we don't want to
- 46:17Speaker 1: take up too much of your time. You know a
- 46:19Speaker 1: lot of times. Uh. If a pastor is stressed at home,
- 46:24Speaker 1: nine times out of ten, he's likely to be stressed
- 46:27Speaker 1: at the church. So I guess, my, my, My biggest
- 46:31Speaker 1: question to you is is your husband stressed at home? Uh? No,
- 46:38Speaker 1: not that I know of. He eats regularly, he's on
- 46:42Speaker 1: a good diet. You know, he goes to the doctor regularly.
- 46:45Speaker 1: He gets his physical um pretty good. At home. I
- 46:49Speaker 1: don't have a reason to believe that he's stressed. He
- 46:52Speaker 1: certainly hasn't brought anything to my attention. Okay, No, I don't,
- 46:55Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't, I don't. I don't
- 46:57Speaker 1: think you follow me, Sin, Since angel what I'm saying
- 47:00Speaker 1: is he's stressed behind closed doors? Is he stressed in
- 47:06Speaker 1: that fashion? Um? I'm not. I'm not too sure I
- 47:11Speaker 1: follow you. You say behind closed doors? What exactly did
- 47:14Speaker 1: you mean by that? Is he is he stressed? In
- 47:20Speaker 1: y'all's relations Is he stressed? Are you asking me about
- 47:24Speaker 1: my personal business? Brother? Well, what I'm saying is if
- 47:27Speaker 1: he's stressed at home, he'll be stressed at the church.
- 47:30Speaker 1: And if he's stressed at the church, then the members
- 47:32Speaker 1: are stressed. Then the congregation is stressed. So the stress
- 47:36Speaker 1: start with you. Excuse me. If you are making sure
- 47:41Speaker 1: that he's all right at home, he's gonna be all
- 47:44Speaker 1: right at the church. I'm sorry, brother, what was your name?
- 47:48Speaker 1: Brother Clayton, Brother Clayton. I appreciate you m conducting whatever
- 47:52Speaker 1: interviews you guys need to conduct with the candidates wives.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I do think that's pretty much personal territory, and I
- 47:59Speaker 1: really don't want to for those kind of questions. It
- 48:01Speaker 1: is not personal since the Angela when so many other
- 48:04Speaker 1: people involved. See, that's why I'm asking you the question,
- 48:08Speaker 1: is your man stressed behind? I could assure you, yes,
- 48:12Speaker 1: that my husband is not stressed at home. If I
- 48:16Speaker 1: get your drift, he is not stressed behind closed doors. Brother,
- 48:20Speaker 1: and I would appreciate you if you don't call what
- 48:22Speaker 1: these kind of questions are you asking other candidates? Why
- 48:25Speaker 1: these kind of questions? Well, I was the one dedicated
- 48:29Speaker 1: to call to give you a call. And that's the
- 48:31Speaker 1: question that I decided to come up with because I
- 48:33Speaker 1: want to know if a man is gonna be stressed,
- 48:35Speaker 1: because if he's gonna have tension at the church, then
- 48:38Speaker 1: then the congregation is gonna have tension. The church is
- 48:41Speaker 1: gonna have tension, and the church cannot move forward in
- 48:43Speaker 1: the direction on with great My husband and I have
- 48:46Speaker 1: been married twenty five years, and they've been twenty five
- 48:50Speaker 1: good years. If you get my drift, Okay, he is
- 48:53Speaker 1: not stressed at home, and whatever goes on at home,
- 48:56Speaker 1: my husband has sense enough not to take it to
- 48:57Speaker 1: the church. That is not something he's going to do.
- 49:00Speaker 1: So you don't see about anybody else being stressed at
- 49:03Speaker 1: the congregation in the pulpit nowhere. Okay, we ask together
- 49:07Speaker 1: at home, and I appreciate if you don't ask me
- 49:08Speaker 1: those kind of questions, but sometimes ask me, Well, sometimes
- 49:13Speaker 1: a woman does not realize that that a husband is stressed.
- 49:17Speaker 1: You understand that there's a possible way that you don't
- 49:19Speaker 1: know that he's stressed. So how can you get Let
- 49:22Speaker 1: me get your phone. A matter of fact, let me
- 49:24Speaker 1: get your full name. What's your first name. Let's just
- 49:26Speaker 1: go with Brother Clayton right now? Could you please answer
- 49:28Speaker 1: this question? How can you guarantee that he is fully
- 49:32Speaker 1: not stressed? Brother Clayton? How calling the Lord real? Quick?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Hold on it, Brother Clayton. I'm an honorable woman. I'm
- 49:41Speaker 1: a woman who stands by my man. Okay, but you
- 49:44Speaker 1: are asking me some questions that very personal, very private,
- 49:49Speaker 1: very confidential. You are asking me questions that that a
- 49:53Speaker 1: question is the safety of my marriage? Okay, my husband
- 49:56Speaker 1: is not stressed and if I don't send him away
- 50:03Speaker 1: from my home stressed, Okay, how do you know? But
- 50:08Speaker 1: what are you doing to make sure that this is
- 50:10Speaker 1: less stress? Clayton, I'm about to end this phone call. Okay,
- 50:14Speaker 1: now if you know, we're not gonna end this phone
- 50:16Speaker 1: call until that we know we I need to know
- 50:19Speaker 1: that Reverend Jonathan is not stressed at home. They put
- 50:22Speaker 1: they assigned me to talk to you, and That's what
- 50:25Speaker 1: I'm going to do, and I'm gonna leave. He is
- 50:27Speaker 1: not stressed. I don't know who told you that the
- 50:29Speaker 1: man is not stressed. If he had to stress around you,
- 50:33Speaker 1: I bet you. I bet you he stress because you're
- 50:35Speaker 1: stressing me right now. Now, we're both stressed out. How
- 50:38Speaker 1: Can we understand that that man is not stressed. That's
- 50:40Speaker 1: the end of this conversation. Do you understand me? Give
- 50:43Speaker 1: me your full name right now, give me some intimate details,
- 50:46Speaker 1: and then I'll give you my number to cross the line.
- 50:49Speaker 1: You wait till my husband gets here. If this is
- 50:51Speaker 1: gonna cost him and Candiacy, does this so be, We'll
- 50:53Speaker 1: find another church. I'd have some choice words for you
- 50:57Speaker 1: right now, Brother Clayton. I will give you my name
- 51:00Speaker 1: right now, do you yes, I'm gonna writing right now.
- 51:03Speaker 1: The letter N N is in nancy E P. I
- 51:09Speaker 1: know how to spell N E P h e W.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Got a name? Is that nephew? Your name is nephew Clayton.
- 51:18Speaker 1: My name ain't nephew Clayton. My name is Nephew Tommy.
- 51:21Speaker 1: From the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got pranked
- 51:24Speaker 1: by your husband, Reverend Jonathan hold On, you said, this
- 51:32Speaker 1: is nephew Tommy. This is from the Steve Harvey Mourning's
- 51:39Speaker 1: your Your husband got me to prank phone call you.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Oh lord, I'm gonna killing Oh Lord, I don't mean that.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Oh trust me, trust me this morning. I can't believe
- 51:53Speaker 1: I let him. You know, thanks before Oh my God, Tommy,
- 52:00Speaker 1: I will tell you if this was twenty five years ago. Brother,

- 52:08Speaker 1: safe woman. Well listen, listen. Can I ask you one
- 52:12Speaker 1: more thing? Yes? What is the baddest radio show in

- 53:43Speaker 1: and hold on tight. We got it for you here.
- 53:45Speaker 1: It is the Strawberry Letter. I'm not letting him go
- 53:48Speaker 1: without a fight. Dear Stephen Shirley. I am a twenty
- 53:52Speaker 1: three year old woman and one of my closest friends
- 53:55Speaker 1: turned out to be a dirty skank that stole my
- 53:59Speaker 1: man who years ago. My best friend came to visit
- 54:02Speaker 1: me and we went out every night and kicked it well.
- 54:05Speaker 1: One of those nights, I introduced her to a guy
- 54:08Speaker 1: that I have a crush on. I caught the two
- 54:11Speaker 1: of them flirting with each other and I went off
- 54:13Speaker 1: on her. After we left the club, we got into
- 54:17Speaker 1: a huge fight and haven't spoken since. For years. I've
- 54:21Speaker 1: been flirting with this guy, but he never paid attention
- 54:24Speaker 1: to me. I'm beautiful and fine as hell, so I
- 54:27Speaker 1: don't understand why he hasn't pursued me. I only see
- 54:31Speaker 1: him when I go out, and he's bought me a
- 54:33Speaker 1: drink before, but that's it. Now I've lost a good
- 54:37Speaker 1: friend over this guy and he is not even interested
- 54:39Speaker 1: in me. The other day, a mutual friend of me
- 54:42Speaker 1: and my ex friend called me and said that apparently
- 54:45Speaker 1: my ex friend is dating the guy that I have
- 54:48Speaker 1: a crush on. She told me to go look at
- 54:51Speaker 1: her Facebook page. I went to her Facebook page and
- 54:54Speaker 1: there was a picture of the two of them and
- 54:56Speaker 1: the caption was I said, yes, they are engaged. This
- 55:03Speaker 1: woman stole the man of my dreams, the man I
- 55:06Speaker 1: have loved since high school. I was mad as hell,
- 55:10Speaker 1: but my friend told me I was overreacting because he
- 55:14Speaker 1: was never my man. Here is what I need your advice.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Here's where I need your advice. So I found out
- 55:22Speaker 1: the date, time location of their wedding, and I feel
- 55:25Speaker 1: like I am fully justified in my anger and I
- 55:29Speaker 1: intend to show up and act up at their ceremony.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I can't decide if I'm going to write the word
- 55:35Speaker 1: or on her car or light the wedding cake on fire,
- 55:39Speaker 1: but I'm going to do something. She ruined my life,
- 55:44Speaker 1: so I want to ruin her wedding. Please tell me
- 55:47Speaker 1: that you understand my anger. Maybe he just needs to
- 55:51Speaker 1: know how I feel since I never told him. What
- 55:53Speaker 1: should I do? Please advise. Okay, no one has ruined
- 56:00Speaker 1: your life. First of all, you're only twenty three. Okay,
- 56:04Speaker 1: you're only twenty three years old, and you are crazy. Yeah, really,
- 56:08Speaker 1: this is crazy, ridiculous. I mean, for real, if you're
- 56:12Speaker 1: thinking about doing any of the stuff you talked about
- 56:14Speaker 1: in this letter, I mean, how dare you even consider
- 56:18Speaker 1: ruining their wedding? That's so ridiculous. You are a hater
- 56:21Speaker 1: in every sense of the word. Your mutual friend was right.
- 56:25Speaker 1: How could she steal the man of your dreams when
- 56:27Speaker 1: he was never yours to begin with. You just had
- 56:29Speaker 1: a crush on the guy. He barely gave you the
- 56:32Speaker 1: time of day. He was not interested in you, you
- 56:34Speaker 1: said that in your letter, in your own words. He was, however,
- 56:38Speaker 1: interested in your best friend. You had no claim on
- 56:42Speaker 1: this man. The only way she could have taken him
- 56:45Speaker 1: from you is if you were in a relationship with him. Okay,
- 56:48Speaker 1: that's how that works. And at last I checked, buying
- 56:51Speaker 1: you a drink at a club does not constitute a relationship. Okay,
- 56:56Speaker 1: now you're crazy. Behind has probably lost a good friend
- 56:59Speaker 1: over the foolishness. This is really crazy, and please don't
- 57:03Speaker 1: show up at her wedding. Let them have their happy day.
- 57:07Speaker 1: His family members are gonna be there. Her family members
- 57:10Speaker 1: are gonna be there, and I'm sure they're not gonna
- 57:12Speaker 1: let you write the word horror on her car as
- 57:15Speaker 1: you've suggested, or set the wedding cake on fire. Both
- 57:19Speaker 1: those ideas are just insane. Come on, stay at home.
- 57:22Speaker 1: That's my advice to you. Stay at home, Netflix and chill.

- 57:47Speaker 1: way you wanted it too. This is a letter from
- 57:51Speaker 1: a crazy person. This is a letter from a person
- 57:56Speaker 1: that requires some form of medical attention. I need to
- 58:01Speaker 1: go deep with this letter, but I can't because she
- 58:04Speaker 1: didn't go deep. Well, it was just my magine Nay
- 58:09Speaker 1: shut Waltz again running away with me. It was just
- 58:17Speaker 1: my magine name Shin running away with me. That song
- 58:26Speaker 1: popped in my head the whole time I was listening
- 58:29Speaker 1: to this letter. This twenty through ye old girl crazy, No, no,
- 58:32Speaker 1: damn back flying out of a cave in the daytime.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Why is your ass out here in the daylight? You know?
- 58:41Speaker 1: Good damn? Where are you supposed to be hanging in
- 58:43Speaker 1: the cave somewhere? You know? Flap your nutty ass out
- 58:48Speaker 1: here in the daytime. There's your word, Carl nutty? What
- 58:53Speaker 1: is wrong with her? First of all, you at a
- 58:56Speaker 1: club with your girlfriend with a guy you interested in.
- 58:59Speaker 1: You can't watch them flirting. Y'all have an argument, and
- 59:03Speaker 1: y'all ain't spoken years now. He's then you said right here,
- 59:09Speaker 1: I'm beautiful and fine as hell. So I don't understand
- 59:13Speaker 1: why he ain't pursued me. Let's take that sentence right there.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I'm beautiful and fine. That's hell, And I don't see
- 59:19Speaker 1: why he ain't pursued me. Well, let me let me
- 59:22Speaker 1: bring you down a little bit. You ain't as fine
- 59:24Speaker 1: and beautiful as you. Thank you all. Notice you said
- 59:27Speaker 1: I I'm fine. Anybody else said that? Yeah, ain't. Ain't
- 59:33Speaker 1: nobody wrote in with you? Then this ain't a group letter.
- 59:36Speaker 1: This your friend didn't write this letter in. You wrote
- 59:39Speaker 1: this letter. You're not as fine as you, Thank you all.
- 59:42Speaker 1: He met your friend and was enamored with your friend
- 59:46Speaker 1: and not you. Y'all ain't ever had a relationship. Now
- 59:49Speaker 1: you and this girl ain't spoken years. A girlfriend of
- 59:51Speaker 1: yours call you, told you gonna Facebook. It's a pitch
- 59:54Speaker 1: in them, and she said, yes, strong with you. Hang on, Steve,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: we're gonna have part two of your response coming up
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: at twenty three after the hour. Subject of today's strawberry letter.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I'm not letting him go without a fight. We'll get
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: back into it right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Let's recap today's strawberry letter. I'm not letting him go
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: without a fight. We don't have to recap nothing. This
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: nutting ass woman that's twenty three years old and wrote
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: a damn letter in talking about she was interested in
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the guy the club introduced it to her girlfriend and
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: then he started flirting with her. She cuts to him
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: out and now her and the girl ain't spoken years.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: She failed to mention that her and the dude ain't
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: spoke unless he see her at a club and buy
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: her a drink. Now, she don't understand why none of
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: this is going on, because she's beautiful and find us hell,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: but not to him. No, see, let us want what
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: we want, right. You know? Now you ain't spoken to
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: this girl. You've been flirting with this guy, but he's
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: never paid a too to me because he don't want you. If, ladies,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: if you're flirting with a guy and he ain't paying
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: no attention to you because he don't even want you,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: he don't even want to have sex with you, that's
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and at twenty some years old, that's a real wake
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: up call. You're flirting with him, he don't even pay
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: attention to you, So listen to me, young ladies, he
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: don't even want to have sex with you. But here
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: a decent guy, so he just leaving you a loan.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Plus I think he know you crazy. He got to
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: so I don't understand why he ain't pursued me. I
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: see him when I go out to the club. He
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: hadn't bought me a drink before. That's it. Now the
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: title of this letter is let me go back here.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: I'm not letting him go without a fight. You're not
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: letting who go. You ain't ever had him. See, in
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: order to let something go, you must have possession of it. See,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: ain't nobody told you that? But you've never taken posession
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: of him, so he not your Now your girlfriend calls
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: you and tells you to go on Facebook. You ain't
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: talked to this woman in years. You look up, it's
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: a picture him and her, and the picture and the
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: picture says, I said, Yes, this woman stole the man
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: of my dreams, the man I have loved since high school.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: See the man of my dreams. You were not the
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: woman of his dreams, a man you have loved since
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: high school. He ain't ever loved you. Well, it was
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: just my magination. The answer again, money anyway, he with me. See.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I like old songs because they helped. Now here's where
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I need your advice. I found out the date, time
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: and the location that they wed. I feel like I'm
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: fully justified in my anger, and I intend to show
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: up and act up at the ceremony. I can't decide
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: if I'm all right the word horror on her car
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: like the wedding cake on fire. But I'm going to
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: do something. She's ruined my life, so I want to
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: ruin her. Win. Please tell me you understand. No, we don't.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Maybe he just needs to know how I feel since
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I never told him. What should I do? All? Right? Now,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: let me just cut to the chase. I'm assuming these
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: as black people you're talking about. You're gonna go get
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: your ass with smack dab up into ass. You're gonna

- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I can give you a lot of little things. You
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: could try. Knock a knock a bouquet over. Do that
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: right there, Bust some of them trying the dishes. Clap
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: your clap to china plates together and bust them. Do
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: that right there. But don't you dad, take your half
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: ignorant ass over that and set that damn cake on fire.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: That girl, mama gonna hohop your ass, goop your ass.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: It's gonna be so many women whooping your ass because
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: you don't you deserve a ass whom I need advice.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: You don't write hole on this girl. The girl ain't

- 1:04:29Speaker 1: she ruined your what. No, you didn't have a life.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: And the reason you don't have a life because you

- 1:09:53Speaker 1: halfway house in Philadelphia and he'll remained there till October fifteenth.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: And uh, if you recall all, he married Phaedra back
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: and I think it's back in two thousand and nine,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: and they split in two thousand and fourteen, right before
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: he left for prison. They have two sons. Their divorce
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: was finalized, uh in twenty seventeen. So um. Apollo was
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: arrested in January twenty fourteen. He pleaded guilty to bank
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: fraud and identity theft. Three months later. Your brother get out,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: man and really get his life together. Man. Yeah, and
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: he ain't a bad dude. Man, I wish Apolo the

- 1:11:24Speaker 1: two left feet on this show. But I don't care.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: I love her so much. I love Gizelle. But anyway,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: she'd be damn row Tommy, I'll be like ro oh,

- 1:11:38Speaker 1: you know, Steve, they always go on a trip, so
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: they went to h New Orleans. Gazelle, you know, she's
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: the Creole queen and her family, her dad's people, a
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: lot of heritage in New Orleans and uh it was

- 1:12:23Speaker 1: ex wife, and he's moved on and she's moved on.

- 1:12:43Speaker 1: of Sherman Sherman. You can't mention Sherman though Sherman is
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Giselle's ex man, from her from the plum, from the
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Sherman she was in. Jamal's what she has more and
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: he has too. She's dated since she's been the Moss
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: she can't date no more. Well, I don't know, you know,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I didn't know what to hear on the show was doing.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: I think he ain't hurting. A medicine is kicked in
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: one of those I see moron. If y'all don't know

- 1:15:35Speaker 1: ain't no one eighty two. All right, Well, anyway, lost
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: seventeen pounds, that damn fake. Yeah. More of the Steven
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show coming up at thirty three after the hour.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Well,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: this week kicks off to Stephen Marjorie Harvey Mentoring Camp.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: The mission of the camp to teach young men principles
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: of manhood and of course to create responsible leaders. So Steve,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: we got to ask you, how excited are you? And
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: are you ready? Yeah? Man, it's just so it's important thing. Man.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: I love these boys. I love the changes I see
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: in their lives, some tremendous stories. A kid sending me
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: a picture today he said he was on top of
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: the plaque at Morehouse with his graduation hat on. He said,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: mister Harvey, we did it. No, because I helped him
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: through school. Yeah yeah, And he said, mister Harvey, we
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: did it. And the boys sitting on top of the
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: More House signed with his graduation cap on. He graduated
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: from Morehouse. That's just another little dude that's been coming
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: to the program for years. Accent told you about the
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: young cat that's up doing the closing remarks on Sunday. Yeah,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: this young man got his call into the ministry eight
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: years ago at sixteen years old. He's a minister in LA.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: He does pop up shops for millennials, and he's doing
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: the closing ceremony. He surprised me at the camp and
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: then I got another cat that does all the pictures
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: for the camp. He came up yesterday. We surprised him
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: paying for his last year of college because he weren't
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: gonna be able to go. It's just a lot of lives, man.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Now he get changed with these boys. And let me
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: encourage everybody. You don't have to be famous or wealthy
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: to change your boys life. You just have to be
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: able to sit him down and tell him about manhood.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: That's all they want to know. They just want to
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: know how to be men. And if you could show
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: it to him, it could change their life. I love it.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Well right now I'm barbecuing so of the morning though
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: it's not crazy. Describe your outfits, Steve looking like Indiana
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Jones down there, got that NFE hunting. I'll put the
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: knife phone as soon as I finished radio, both of them.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: For the boys, you know, for the boys. Yeah, what
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: do you mean? Well, you're not whipping me. You think
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: they're gonna try you? Great, I'm not gonna stab your dad.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: It's a deterrent, right right, You see these knives, you
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: just go jump on somebody else. Yeah, you can fall
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: back who they jump on. They just ain't gonna be
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: on call. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. No.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: The knives ain't for stabbing nobody. It's a deterrent. Yeah. No,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: like insurance, you don't really need insure until you die. Right, So,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: do you have on camouflaged khaki's jeans? What today? It's
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: all khaki right now? I probably yeah, I'm probably gonna
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: go change into some camel uh huh, you know, and
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: some ascid shirts. And you know, I got some Columbia shirts,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: my fishing shirts. I'm supposed to go fishing with my
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: buddy to day. Brass or bass Pro. Come down here, Kendall,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, comes down, Probably go fishing with him today.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: All right, we're coming back with more of the Steve
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. As a matter of fact, this is
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: our last break of the day. Steve's closing remarks, you
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: don't want to miss it. It's been a good day.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: We'll be back at forty nine after the hour. Right
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: after this, you're listening Steve Show. All right, here we
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: are last break of the day on this first day
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: of mentoring camp. Steve. Yeah, and uh, you're cooking meat
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: already this year already, boys come in today. I'm not
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: bobecuing for the boys. That ain't for the boys. That's
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: oh No. I'm a mile on the hat from the
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: camp through the woods. I got to ride foe wheelers
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: to get to my place. Yeah, you got to come
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: to you walk through here at night. You you got
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: to be a special individual. If your name, last name
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: ain't Boom, I don't suggest you do that. Daniel, to
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: be exact, Daniel, there ain't no light out here. It's black. Wow. Okay,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: there's some stuff come out at night out here. Boy
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: like what like? I mean you know it's wildlife out here.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: I mean antelopes, antelope. Yeah, we're in Georgia. Where have
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: you seen a day? Like he said, a some stuff
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: those would be deal shirley, little damn antelope? What are
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: you talking about? What your talking? Just a question? Yeah,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: turn it down. Wait, wait a minute. Antelopes, y'all, y'all
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: don't sign up and the antelope play. Okay, that's they
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: say that in the song the song know what that
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: sound song is referring to Shelton. It ain't Georgian home
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: on the range. Just ain't the range, it's a ranch
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: stretches anyway, you know. Let me just say this, y'all
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: know this just in clothing. Let me say this to everybody.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: The purpose of this matter in camp is to change
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: the lives in the directions of young men. Now, you
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: don't have to be famous, you don't have to have money,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: you don't have to be any level of success. You
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: just have to know what it is to be a man.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I don't care what your job title is. I don't
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: care what your position in life is. I don't care
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: how much money you make. If you can grab one
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: boy that you see that maybe going the wrong way
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: or could just use some advice, if you're just stopping
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: and pull him to the side, man, you can make
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: a huge difference in this young man's life. Everybody can
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: be a mentor. You don't have to come to my
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: camp to be a mentor. You don't have to be
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: any of that. You don't have to do any of
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: that to be a mentor. Just grab a boy and
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: change his life. Tell him I saying, hey, look, man,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: you know how I'll stopping a lot of young dudes.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I you see him in the airport, now used to go, hey, man,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: you look like you're gonna be something. Put your pants
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: so let me talk to you. Man, A little dude
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: man just start tucking his shirt and man, Steve Harvey
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: talking to me. I see him, and tighten your belt
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: up so we can talk. He without question, he just man,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: what's your vantem? I just said, look, man, I see
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: some potential in you. What you're trying to be? Huh?
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I said, I see some potential in you. What are
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: you trying to be? I see him, and let me
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: give you a little bit advice. And I just started
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: talking to him from there. If you see a dude
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: on your block man, and he just always seemed like
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: he going the wrong way, just say, young man, kind
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: of talk to you for a minute. Listen. If you
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: ever want to talk to somebody, come by my house.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: This is my number calling you welcome. Just rang my doughbell. Man.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: I want to sit down and share some stuff with you.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: And just started talking to him about manhood. Talk to
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: him about some of the mistakes you made along the way,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: you know, tell him some of your experiences about manhood,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: about girls, about making decisions good and bad, that you
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: know that choices is always going to be in front
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: of him, and it's up to him to make the
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: right decision. You can change somebody's life by merely doing that.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: We have an obligation. We have a problem in our
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: community that only we can solve. The government is not coming,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: they're not This current administration could care less. And then
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: with the politics. Can I tell you something, No administration
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: has really cared about us, not a single one. So
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: this is a problem that we can take care of ourselves.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: But it's gonna take all of us, all us men
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: in here, to become better at it. If you are
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: a father and you are not active in your child's life,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: please man, make a phone call and start the process. Now.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: It may be some healing that's got to go on,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: it might have to be an exchange of words that's
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: got to go on. But man, at the end of
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: the day, your son, your daughter would like to know
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: that you can. They really do. So, every man that's
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: out there that's a father on this coming Father's Day,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: make a move. Make a move to be where God
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: created you to be, make a move to fatherhood. If
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: you are not active in your child's life this Father's Day,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: get active. Let that be your mission today, because if
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I could just get every father that was a father
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: to just be a daddy, I wouldn't have to spend
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: this money in this time trying to change these boys around.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Because every one of these boys got a father somewhere,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: every last one of them. So my question to you is,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: why are you fathers? Why are we now? I got man,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: that circumstances happened, and I ain't judge you. I know, man,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: that life just happens. I know sometimes man, the mother
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: makes an awful challenging to get to these children. I
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: know that. I know man, they used that you ain't
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: paid child support against you. I know that. I know.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Man and women, y'all got to stop that, man. Because
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: a man don't have the money, man don't mean he
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: ain't got the time, and he don't know something that
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: could be of value to your child. So if you
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: stop using the children as pawns, that would be a
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: great help. But fathers, take the ingnitiative. Go through her mother,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: her grandmother, but find your way back to these boards,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: find your way back to these girls. Make a difference, man.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: They deserve to know that you think of them, that
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: you level, that you sorry for the way things turned out.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: And start a relationship with your child today, for both
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: your sons and your daughters, and be a great thing
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: that would be the best fathers they give you could
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: give them. Quit waiting on somebody to give you something.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: You know they play a showing on Fathers Day. That's it, y'all.
