- 1:22Speaker 1: is performing on the and he's also performing on the
- 1:25Speaker 1: fifty one annual gm A Dove Awards, which were on
- 1:29Speaker 1: October on tv N. Please welcome to Money Making Conversation,
- 1:33Speaker 1: my man, Jonathan McReynolds. How are you doing pretty good? Hey? Jonathan?
- 1:39Speaker 1: For Steve Harvey. Now, for many years, man, we did
- 1:42Speaker 1: celebration of gospel and BT, and we saw the evolution
- 1:46Speaker 1: of gospel music. Uh, I like to believe you know that,
- 1:51Speaker 1: uh that became and I don't want to use this wrong.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You know how the star power of gospel music grew
- 2:01Speaker 1: and grew. And am I saying that name correctly? Because
- 2:05Speaker 1: I felt that with social media, you guys became uh
- 2:09Speaker 1: venue acts, arena acts, and where you were initially was
- 2:14Speaker 1: just regulated to church church venues and so and it
- 2:19Speaker 1: was it was amazing watching that because of the fact
- 2:21Speaker 1: that you know, people will come in and and direct
- 2:27Speaker 1: carpets and all that, and it was it was how
- 2:29Speaker 1: is your role in watching that growth? What changes have
- 2:33Speaker 1: you seen? What do you think it has been the music,
- 2:35Speaker 1: the style of music, or social media that has led
- 2:39Speaker 1: to that tremendous growth in the brand of gospel music
- 2:43Speaker 1: that we're here today. Well, now, I think it starts
- 2:47Speaker 1: off with just the music. Man. When you have you know,
- 2:49Speaker 1: the Kirk Franklins of the world that you know, they
- 2:52Speaker 1: have released music that you know, might have started in
- 2:55Speaker 1: the church and might have been you know, meant for
- 2:58Speaker 1: you know, gospel music listen us, but they crossed over
- 3:01Speaker 1: and became you know, big songs, just you know, not yet.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Marvin Stapp never would have made it. Elona Adams over
- 3:12Speaker 1: to my Heart, I need you now, I'm smoking North,
- 3:15Speaker 1: all of that stuff. But Mary Job, come on, man,
- 3:17Speaker 1: don't don't do it like that this early an interview,
- 3:20Speaker 1: an interview never would have made it. Man made Yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 1: all those songs. Uh, they really just created a bigger
- 3:31Speaker 1: platform for our generation. Uh So now we're not even
- 3:35Speaker 1: just looking at Okay, you know what Sunday service. Can
- 3:37Speaker 1: we sing it? No, we are. We're thinking of Hey,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you know, we can go into these big venues, theaters,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we can do club tours. It doesn't matter where we are.
- 3:46Speaker 1: We bring the same thing. We're gonna bring the same atmosphere,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the same music. It doesn't matter where we are. But
- 3:52Speaker 1: when we go to these different places, Uh, it allows
- 3:55Speaker 1: people whether they were in church every Sunday or visit
- 3:59Speaker 1: just don't still in Mother's Day or they haven't been
- 4:02Speaker 1: to church in teen years, they all come to hit
- 4:04Speaker 1: the music. And so it's just been really an amazing
- 4:07Speaker 1: time to live in and do gospel because, yeah, the
- 4:11Speaker 1: platform and what we can do with this music is
- 4:14Speaker 1: absolutely bigger. And I had the credit you know those
- 4:16Speaker 1: incredible artists that I just mentioned, and Mary Mary and
- 4:19Speaker 1: many more. Uh that really just you know, changed the
- 4:22Speaker 1: game for us. You know, it's really all those names
- 4:25Speaker 1: very familiar with it. I know that I'm from Houston, Texas,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and Kirk Franklin is from from Dallas for Worth area.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And I remember when his first hit Talk came out,
- 4:36Speaker 1: which he celebrated anniversary on recently. Um then that changed,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you know. I remember I was doing a comedy concert,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Steve was headlined. We sold out the music hall and
- 4:44Speaker 1: j Anthony Brown was on this show and I played
- 4:47Speaker 1: that song right before we started our comedy show, Why
- 4:49Speaker 1: are We sing? Why are We seeing? And uh, and
- 4:53Speaker 1: it was just a breakthrough song. And you know, Mary
- 4:56Speaker 1: and Mary, you know, uh change Shackles on your Feet
- 5:00Speaker 1: was a dance floor hit, you know. And then Kirk
- 5:03Speaker 1: Franklin came back with Stump that was a dance floor hit.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And so all this music, you know, we're in a
- 5:08Speaker 1: club drinking and for negling, but we're out there dancing,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and I like to believe soaking in the word but
- 5:17Speaker 1: also dancing to the word. And that's that to me,
- 5:20Speaker 1: was really a strong transition because you know, nothing negative.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But you know, up to that point, gospel music wasn't
- 5:26Speaker 1: perceived as a social music. It was perceived as church music.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And when they started, when I do give a lot
- 5:36Speaker 1: of credit to Kirk because he transitioned and made it
- 5:40Speaker 1: a crossover hit, a phenomenal hit, not just a baby hit.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Phenomenal hit. And God's Property was out there doing things
- 5:48Speaker 1: and touring on doing plays and all those good things.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So but when I look at your talents today, Jonathan,
- 5:54Speaker 1: because social media plays a big role in who you are,
- 5:57Speaker 1: tell us how you use it, because it creates a
- 5:59Speaker 1: lane independence for you that ten years ago was not available. Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I think that's the big ship that we're seeing. Even
- 6:07Speaker 1: though labels are still important and are still relevant, and
- 6:11Speaker 1: you know, we're blessed, you know that labels have much
- 6:14Speaker 1: bigger pocice than we normally would have because when we
- 6:16Speaker 1: were starting off, uh, you know, social media still gives
- 6:19Speaker 1: us that opportunity to reach directly to you know, the crowd,
- 6:24Speaker 1: directly to fans, directly to people, directly directly to other
- 6:27Speaker 1: believers and even pastors and everything. They can see what
- 6:31Speaker 1: we're doing, what we're releasing, what we're working on, even
- 6:34Speaker 1: if they haven't seen the official promotion you know from
- 6:38Speaker 1: the label that they haven't heard the official radio single yet,
- 6:41Speaker 1: they can still see, you know, kind of firsthand what
- 6:44Speaker 1: we are and what we're working on. And so I
- 6:47Speaker 1: think social media definitely allows us to do more. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: even back in you know, Kirk Franklin, you know when
- 6:55Speaker 1: he was changing the game. You know, it was pretty
- 6:58Speaker 1: simple then, it was kind of when not simple, but
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's kind of straightforward, you know, you re Lisa record. Uh,
- 7:03Speaker 1: you know, it gets on the radio whatever. You know,
- 7:06Speaker 1: hopefully it hits and gets the number one on the
- 7:09Speaker 1: radio chart and then maybe we'll do some gigs around it.
- 7:13Speaker 1: But now, I mean, there's so much more we can do.
- 7:15Speaker 1: We got you know, we can uh we can do tours,
- 7:18Speaker 1: we can do contests, we can do uh hashtags and
- 7:22Speaker 1: just have you know, trendy things. I was actually nominated
- 7:25Speaker 1: for a Grammy for a song that wasn't even a single,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but because it had such a viral uh nature to it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I mean people all the way from you know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: pop stars and Disney and you know, Escape and all
- 7:40Speaker 1: these other people, they were singing this song, singing this
- 7:43Speaker 1: run and it was it became so viral that it
- 7:47Speaker 1: actually had impact on the Grammy, even more so than
- 7:50Speaker 1: the radio single that went number one. And so it's
- 7:53Speaker 1: just a different day where you have there's there's less rules, uh,
- 7:57Speaker 1: And the whole point is just to make something that
- 8:00Speaker 1: really speaks to the people, speaks to the culture, and
- 8:03Speaker 1: you'll win. Now you're doing your latest singing moving on
- 8:06Speaker 1: featuring Malley music. That's my man, That's that's my man.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Right now, how did you guys get together on this single.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Hey man, Honestly, we've known each other for a very
- 8:17Speaker 1: long time. I've had to remind him that a long
- 8:20Speaker 1: time ago, I used to sing with a group uh
- 8:23Speaker 1: five guys. It was like, it's like, uh wait, wait,
- 8:26Speaker 1: wait wait singing with a group. WI what were y'all doing?
- 8:29Speaker 1: That sound like? Right? That's how like new addition right there?
- 8:34Speaker 1: That's how like new addition for gospel? Close? It was close.
- 8:41Speaker 1: We had some of the same moves sometimes there you go.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But we were singing. We were singing gospel, and he
- 8:48Speaker 1: actually was doing a concert and we were we were
- 8:52Speaker 1: we were like opening for him at his concert. He
- 8:55Speaker 1: actually pointed me out during his set. He pointed me out,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and he played for me, like in front of everybody.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And you know, I think from then on, um God
- 9:04Speaker 1: was obviously speaking to him and letting them know that
- 9:06Speaker 1: he's gonna do something special with me, even outside that group.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And sure enough, ten years later, man, we're working together.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I mean, that's my friends throughout, and we decided it's
- 9:16Speaker 1: about time that we actually did something together, and uh,
- 9:19Speaker 1: moving on is our baby, man. So I'm just really
- 9:22Speaker 1: proud of it. Bro. Yeah, I'm gonna dropped that because
- 9:24Speaker 1: I hit him on the show Man fell in Love
- 9:26Speaker 1: What to Do Man? And I like to believe that
- 9:29Speaker 1: he impacted me and I impacted him. That's why I
- 9:31Speaker 1: found it money making conversations, to be able to talk
- 9:34Speaker 1: to the behind the scenes concepts of why people are
- 9:36Speaker 1: great and then share those values on my show and
- 9:39Speaker 1: hopefully inspired people to see that they can do it too.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And so when I look at you, you know you
- 9:44Speaker 1: know you gospel now you you've been on TV. How
- 9:47Speaker 1: has the impact of being a judge because I've been
- 9:51Speaker 1: on Sunday's Best because that's a tricky roll the plate
- 9:56Speaker 1: because you have to be constructive but not what they
- 10:00Speaker 1: say damaging the people and they're getting them to the
- 10:05Speaker 1: next level. How had do you did? One season? What did?
- 10:08Speaker 1: What did you do? Did you make any changes to
- 10:10Speaker 1: your style of second season? Jonathan? Nah? You know, now,
- 10:16Speaker 1: I would say that this second season, Uh, they showed
- 10:19Speaker 1: a lot more of our deliberation and so people really
- 10:22Speaker 1: got a little more mad than normal than the first time.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But yeah, I think that I've actually enjoyed it, you
- 10:30Speaker 1: know it kind of I always love special things that
- 10:33Speaker 1: that kind of bring you outside of just the normal,
- 10:35Speaker 1: you know, recording and performing. So I really enjoyed it. Man, honestly,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know, you just have to at the end of
- 10:41Speaker 1: the day, Uh let it out at the end of
- 10:44Speaker 1: the day, the case sing, you have to tell about
- 10:46Speaker 1: it at the end of the day, you know, and
- 10:49Speaker 1: that you can. As I was talking to Jesse Collins
- 10:51Speaker 1: who was the producer, Jess, yeah, he was just like, man,
- 10:57Speaker 1: gospel fans are the hardest fans ever. I mean, you
- 11:00Speaker 1: you would think that these people couldn't sing if you
- 11:03Speaker 1: look at Twitter, you know what I'm saying, And they
- 11:05Speaker 1: are great. You know, They're just not everybody's favorite. And
- 11:08Speaker 1: so at the end of the day, we no matter
- 11:10Speaker 1: how hard the judges are, regular people they probably can't sing,
- 11:14Speaker 1: are still gonna be even harder. And so I think, uh,
- 11:18Speaker 1: they all are a lot of the concessions. You know,
- 11:20Speaker 1: I can still talk to They still d n me
- 11:22Speaker 1: from time to time, They still fill me in, still
- 11:25Speaker 1: ask me for advice and help on certain things. So
- 11:27Speaker 1: I think, you know, it's all love. They understand you
- 11:30Speaker 1: know that, you know, we have to be critical, but
- 11:32Speaker 1: we just wanted to make them better. And over the
- 11:35Speaker 1: time you see how they become not just singers, because
- 11:38Speaker 1: church is full of singers. But as you were talking about,
- 11:41Speaker 1: because the industry that general has expanded so much because
- 11:44Speaker 1: of people like Kirk and Marvin and Mary, Mary and
- 11:47Speaker 1: yourself and yourself, you know, I cannot do now, you know,
- 11:53Speaker 1: play down what you do, okay, because if you're play
- 11:56Speaker 1: an important role because of the fact that you are
- 12:00Speaker 1: decision maker, you're defining people's careers and and also people's voices.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And then when it comes to gospel in music, the
- 12:07Speaker 1: problem that church people because I was I've done children
- 12:10Speaker 1: with Steve Harman. Now we did a tour with Kurt Franklin,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and I went out there and they were telling me
- 12:15Speaker 1: you need a you need to market on church radio station.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I go, that's where the church people at. And I
- 12:20Speaker 1: wasn't selling no tickets. I was. I was on all
- 12:22Speaker 1: the church of quote unquote church radio stations. When I
- 12:25Speaker 1: went back to R and B stations, Jonathan, I started
- 12:29Speaker 1: selling tickets. So that lets me know that you can't
- 12:32Speaker 1: define that audience. You can't sometimes you can't even locate
- 12:35Speaker 1: that audience because they all have values that that that
- 12:39Speaker 1: that can can can mislead you into saying this is
- 12:42Speaker 1: where they're at. And so when you're dealing with church
- 12:44Speaker 1: church songs, you know, just because they can't sing, people
- 12:48Speaker 1: feel their church music. You know, that might be tied
- 12:51Speaker 1: to a happy moment or a dark moment in their life,
- 12:54Speaker 1: or somebody wasn't sick. And so so when they hear
- 12:57Speaker 1: somebody singing it and in their minds when they heard it,
- 13:02Speaker 1: that's what's gonna stay with them forever. And so that's
- 13:04Speaker 1: why they're so hard when it comes to church music,
- 13:06Speaker 1: because church music is different. I can I can hear
- 13:09Speaker 1: a different version of a Marvin Gay song, and I'm
- 13:12Speaker 1: cool with it both. Yeah, come on now, but don't
- 13:16Speaker 1: but don't mess up my church. Come on, come on,
- 13:19Speaker 1: come on, come on now, come on. And that I mean,
- 13:22Speaker 1: that's a good point, absolutely, and that that's why that's
- 13:25Speaker 1: why when I look at you, man, I mean, I'll
- 13:27Speaker 1: be checking you out, man, because you know, my boy
- 13:28Speaker 1: Curt and everybody and Jesse's doing the production over that BT.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I've always been a big fan of what they're doing
- 13:34Speaker 1: for the Gospel Lane because of the fact that you know,
- 13:38Speaker 1: we all know that these type of shows aren't always
- 13:40Speaker 1: the best both watch shows, but they need it. Man,
- 13:43Speaker 1: They're necessary because they feel a vore and they also
- 13:47Speaker 1: allow us to share in a I call the good
- 13:49Speaker 1: food eaven. Good food. You always want to do a
- 13:52Speaker 1: good food for your soul, and that's what good church
- 13:54Speaker 1: gospel shows are. And so with with you being a judge,
- 13:58Speaker 1: has it helped your brand? From a social standpoint or
- 14:01Speaker 1: from a marketing standpoint? You're walking into airports, people recognize
- 14:05Speaker 1: you're going to see say my man J Jay. Oh yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: I mean it's great because you know, honestly, because of
- 14:15Speaker 1: the way my music is. And honestly, you you're saying that,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you know, back in the day or back when you
- 14:21Speaker 1: guys are touring with Kurt, you know, you would see
- 14:24Speaker 1: that the church folks and people I wanted to come
- 14:25Speaker 1: to the concerts sometimes they're listening to the R and
- 14:27Speaker 1: B stations even even it's even more spread out now
- 14:31Speaker 1: you think you kind of knew, you don't. You can't
- 14:34Speaker 1: even track Black people now run all over the place,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So so you know, bringing
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, when you when you get to do the
- 14:44Speaker 1: type of music that I do. And I've been actually
- 14:46Speaker 1: touring clubs and venues. I haven't toured a church in
- 14:50Speaker 1: a very long time, you know, as far as um,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know, just going from from church to church. So
- 14:55Speaker 1: the thing is we have to we get to find
- 14:57Speaker 1: people in different places. But Bet Sunday Best that was
- 15:01Speaker 1: still kind of a hub for a different generation, like
- 15:04Speaker 1: maybe an older generation, people that you know, before everything
- 15:08Speaker 1: got all chaotic, you know, before before we started spreading out,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and and you know, our generation, we we barely went
- 15:15Speaker 1: to church growing up, you know what I'm saying. But
- 15:17Speaker 1: the generation that really did um, you know, they're still
- 15:20Speaker 1: watching Sunday Best. And those of the UH, they'll they'll
- 15:23Speaker 1: they'll they'll call me young Buck in the middle of
- 15:26Speaker 1: you know, the airport, young Buck, because that's what Kirk
- 15:28Speaker 1: calls me. I know that, I know that's where they
- 15:31Speaker 1: got it, you know, and they watch. I love Kirk
- 15:34Speaker 1: Franklinan he could do no wrong with me. Man. That
- 15:35Speaker 1: brother man is so special to me. And you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: I the thirteen years we did UH celebration the gospel
- 15:43Speaker 1: that bread that Steve's Harvey is so deep in the
- 15:46Speaker 1: black community. So I know how loyal black people are.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And so you're getting a base, Jonathan that is loyal
- 15:54Speaker 1: for you will follow you to your grave and pray
- 15:58Speaker 1: for you when you're sick, and sell a brate you
- 16:00Speaker 1: your success. And that's what you really want when you're
- 16:03Speaker 1: talking about your brand and building your brand. And then
- 16:06Speaker 1: from an educational standpoint, you have a master's and what now?
- 16:09Speaker 1: What's your masters in difficult Studies? Yeah? And and and
- 16:14Speaker 1: so you're professor at Columbia College. Tell me how are
- 16:17Speaker 1: you marrying all these different lanes and and and still
- 16:21Speaker 1: be a good looking guy? You know, because in the end,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you're still a good looking guy. Man, let's gonna be real. Now,
- 16:27Speaker 1: you're good looking guy. Not a lot of things going
- 16:28Speaker 1: on in your life, now, you know, how are you
- 16:31Speaker 1: juggling all these balls up there? It's definitely juggle, definitely tough.
- 16:37Speaker 1: So but I love it, man, me as I grow stronger, yes, sir,
- 16:40Speaker 1: because I mean it's crazy. Man. I love all those lanes, man,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I love I love the different looks, you know. I
- 16:46Speaker 1: love being a jun professor at Columbia. That's one Actually,
- 16:50Speaker 1: that's probably one of the favorite parts of my life.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I took off of this semesters of a tour, but uh,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you know that's really um. One of my favorite things
- 16:59Speaker 1: do is to just a a matter of fact, I've had
- 17:01Speaker 1: to choose between singing and teaching. Unless the Lord told
- 17:04Speaker 1: me something different, I probably would choose teaching. So it's
- 17:07Speaker 1: just really uh, you know, one of my favorite parts.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And you know all of that, Man, it keeps me,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you know, uh, it keeps you. You know the Bible
- 17:16Speaker 1: and Ecclesiastics that says invest in seven ventures even eight
- 17:20Speaker 1: because you don't know what disaster will come upon the land.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Basically you don't know which one of these things are
- 17:25Speaker 1: gonna succeed, you know what I'm saying, So don't don't
- 17:28Speaker 1: put all your eggs in one basking. So I really appreciate,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you know, just kind of diversifying, not just with money,
- 17:35Speaker 1: but just with my enjoyment in life and my fulfillment
- 17:38Speaker 1: that it doesn't always have to all come from music
- 17:41Speaker 1: and singing. There's something that comes from teaching. There's something
- 17:44Speaker 1: that comes from my nonprofit, which is the laz Nation,
- 17:47Speaker 1: which is really even more teaching just about wisdom and
- 17:50Speaker 1: more spiritual things. Uh, those are the things that really
- 17:53Speaker 1: keep me fulfilled. Um, and you know diversifies my life. Well,
- 17:58Speaker 1: you know, first of all, you know us in the
- 18:00Speaker 1: game out of thirty tho dollars in scholarship. We're gonna
- 18:02Speaker 1: go there, but there's non properly. Listen, let's tell everybody
- 18:05Speaker 1: what he does. He speaks it and he does it
- 18:07Speaker 1: at the same time. But you have an up comic
- 18:10Speaker 1: performance coming up in the fifty first Annual Double Awards.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Tell us about that. It's October thirty on TB And
- 18:15Speaker 1: another big branding moment for you when when I talk
- 18:18Speaker 1: about money man conversation, it's about branding, it's about marketing.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's about doing the things to keep your platform moving forward.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You have great relationships with a man music you got,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you know Kurt Franklin, you know, you're you're you're teaching
- 18:30Speaker 1: in college, you're touring in clubs. You have two back
- 18:34Speaker 1: to back season on Sunday Bess and now you have
- 18:37Speaker 1: the Double Awards. That really it's what you what you're
- 18:41Speaker 1: trying to do. You're trying to be a model for success.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Does that sounds good when you've listed like that? Thank you? Well.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Remember I'll just repeating when I know about you and
- 18:51Speaker 1: I brought you on the show because you got it
- 18:53Speaker 1: going on. When I started saying and that's what I
- 18:55Speaker 1: wanted people understand is that sometimes people are pigeonhole. You, Oh,
- 18:59Speaker 1: you can't do this. You're only supposed to do this.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And I say to anybody, if you're there twenty four
- 19:04Speaker 1: hours in a day, learn to take advantage of each hour.
- 19:06Speaker 1: That's what I tell people. So, now, if you're struggling
- 19:09Speaker 1: saying I'm not a morning person, there are people out
- 19:11Speaker 1: there who get up in the morning and do things
- 19:13Speaker 1: while are you sleeping. And that's the type of person
- 19:15Speaker 1: I see you as. Jonathan. Your person is saying God
- 19:18Speaker 1: has given me the ability to wake myself up, breathe,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and move forward physically with no restraints. You know, I'm
- 19:26Speaker 1: not I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say I'm not. I'm
- 19:28Speaker 1: not always a morning person, but I'm definitely i'll stay
- 19:31Speaker 1: up all night until it's done person too. So well,
- 19:34Speaker 1: you know what you gotta if you put, if you
- 19:37Speaker 1: push it morning before you get up, you gotta get
- 19:39Speaker 1: some sleep to get back up. So I ain't gonna
- 19:43Speaker 1: get mad at you're donating. So so tell us about
- 19:45Speaker 1: the TV and experience that you're gonna do with the
- 19:48Speaker 1: Dove Awards on October thirties. Yeah, man, I'm excited about it. Man.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You know, Jim has always supported me, and my music
- 19:55Speaker 1: gets kind of a platform that uh, you know, it
- 20:00Speaker 1: is best to kind of diversify the the Christian music experience.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I mean, we got some stuff over in gospel, but
- 20:07Speaker 1: you know that CCM, there's that worship music. Uh, that's
- 20:10Speaker 1: hip hop. You know, there's bluegrass. You know what I'm saying.
- 20:14Speaker 1: There's a whole bunch that that falls under Jesus music.
- 20:18Speaker 1: And so they do they do what they can to
- 20:21Speaker 1: kind of show and platform all those different things. And
- 20:24Speaker 1: so I'm honored man that they that they brought me
- 20:26Speaker 1: on the show. Uh. It's proven to be a real good,
- 20:29Speaker 1: um meeting ground for a lot of different cultures, especially
- 20:33Speaker 1: in these crazy times uh times of protests and you know,
- 20:37Speaker 1: just kind of racial tension and all the other stuff.
- 20:40Speaker 1: It's been a really good platform to kind of talk
- 20:43Speaker 1: about things, uh from a like minded space, you know, saying,
- 20:47Speaker 1: but brings us together at the very least as Jesus,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you know. So, uh, we have been able to have
- 20:53Speaker 1: real good conversations. And then yeah, I'm gonna sing and
- 20:56Speaker 1: it's gonna be really dope. I like the way that
- 20:59Speaker 1: they're positioning the whole old thing. It's really just tell
- 21:01Speaker 1: the story of of of racial tension and unity, but
- 21:07Speaker 1: how the church to do something about it. I tell
- 21:09Speaker 1: you I just had Lacuix on the show. We talked
- 21:10Speaker 1: about them about Travis Green has been on the show.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Mardin music. We just talked about. He's doing the song
- 21:15Speaker 1: the single with You that's moving on, there's out now.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And now Jonathan mc reynolds, I'm gonna thank you for
- 21:22Speaker 1: coming on the show. Man, Grammy nominative, Steller war winning
- 21:24Speaker 1: all this songwriter, producer, you know, all around. Uh, he
- 21:29Speaker 1: got twenty four hours a day. And I'll tell you
- 21:30Speaker 1: this young man. He may not be a morning person,
- 21:32Speaker 1: but when he goes to sleep, he's tired. And just
- 21:34Speaker 1: let you know he ted definitely tired. Hey, John, thanks
- 21:39Speaker 1: for coming on the show. But I thank for coming
- 21:41Speaker 1: on show. I'll be a good time man. I know
- 21:43Speaker 1: it's the first time we've interviewed you on the show.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I always know these doors are open, man, when people
- 21:47Speaker 1: come on the show. Man, I put your brand out
- 21:49Speaker 1: that brother, with social media, newsletters, all kinds of things,
- 21:52Speaker 1: because your brand needs to be recognized as a true
- 21:54Speaker 1: success story. My friend. Okay, thank you, man, I can
