I'm thinking today of Matthew 27 2 and it says and

They bound him and that him is Jesus and they led him away and delivered him to pilot the governor

In this moment when Jesus was arrested the Pharisees and the Sadducees were finally united

Jesus has this way of uniting people when they stand against him

Doesn't matter what their differences are

They realize that Jesus is more a threat to their way of life than anyone else and they will stand

United against Jesus or against Christians because they don't want to let Jesus do what Jesus wants to do in their wickedness

They found a mutual enemy. They bound their enemy. They tortured him

They found him guilty despite the illegal nature of their proceedings and they sent him to pilot so that he could be crucified

It was wrong

Facilitated by the wickedness of men but it was Jesus who willingly laid down his life for us

Now we live for him who died for us your enemies may unite against you

But in doing so they sear they seal their ultimate defeat

Doesn't matter what enemy you're facing today in Christ. You will be victorious
