- 0:00John chapter 2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of
- 0:04Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there, and both Jesus and
- 0:07his disciples were invited to the wedding.
- 0:09When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him,
- 0:12they have no wine. And Jesus said to her, woman,
- 0:15what does that have to do with us?
- 0:17My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the servants,
- 0:21whatever he says to you, do it now.
- 0:23There were 6 stone water pots set there for the Jewish custom
- 0:26of purification, containing 20 or 30 gallons each.
- 0:30Jesus said to them, fill the water pots with water.
- 0:33So they filled them up to the brim.
- 0:35And he said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the head
- 0:37waiter. So they took it to him.
- 0:40When the head waiter tasted the water which had become wine and
- 0:43did not know where it came from, but the servants who had drawn
- 0:46the water knew. The head waiter called the
- 0:48bridegroom and said to him, Every man serves the good wine
- 0:511st, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the
- 0:54poorer wine. But you have kept the good wine
- 0:57until now. This beginning of his signs
- 1:00Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory, and his
- 1:04disciples believed in Him. After this he went down to
- 1:07Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples,
- 1:10and they stayed there a few days.
- 1:12The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to
- 1:15Jerusalem, and he found in the temple those who were selling
- 1:17oxen and sheep and doves and the money changers seated at their
- 1:20tables. And he made a scourge of cords
- 1:23and drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep and the
- 1:26oxen, and he poured out the coins of the moneychangers and
- 1:29overturned their tables. And to those who were selling
- 1:31the doves, he said, take these things away.
- 1:33Stop making my Father's house a place of business.
- 1:37His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house
- 1:40will consume me. The Jews then said to him, What
- 1:43sign do you show us as your authority for doing these
- 1:45things? Jesus answered them, Destroy
- 1:47this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
- 1:50The Jews then said it took 46 years to build this temple, and
- 1:55will you raise it up in three days?
- 1:57But he was Speaking of the temple of His body.
- 1:59So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered
- 2:02that He said this, and they believed the Scripture and the
- 2:05Word which Jesus had spoken. Now when He was in Jerusalem at
- 2:08the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name,
- 2:12observing His signs which He was doing.
- 2:14But Jesus on His part was not entrusting Himself to them, for
- 2:17He knew all men, because He did not need anyone to testify
- 2:20concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.
