- 1:49Speaker 4: Look, come.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Come on, you'll think, huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You're listening to the voice, Come on, DIGNI now one
- 2:09Speaker 2: and only Steve.
- 2:09Speaker 7: Harley got a radio show. Here we go today. I
- 2:15Speaker 7: think I have something for a lot of people today,
- 2:17Speaker 7: at least I hope I do. And this is about
- 2:21Speaker 7: on your journey, And this is about something that happens
- 2:25Speaker 7: to us all. I mean, what happens to all of
- 2:30Speaker 7: us from time to time when we get discouraged, What
- 2:35Speaker 7: happens to all of us when we feel like quitting,
- 2:39Speaker 7: What happens to all of us when we have that
- 2:42Speaker 7: turnback moment, What happens to all of us when it
- 2:47Speaker 7: don't seem like it's going to pan out. Because I
- 2:51Speaker 7: want you to understand something that everyone, every single living soul,
- 2:56Speaker 7: has those thoughts about something at some point in their life.
- 3:02Speaker 7: I mean, you know, look, I've oftentimes been discouraged about
- 3:06Speaker 7: things not happening as fast as I like them. All
- 3:11Speaker 7: things don't pan out the way I would like for
- 3:14Speaker 7: them to have panned out. I mean, it's so many
- 3:18Speaker 7: ways to get discouraged. But what my encouragement to you
- 3:25Speaker 7: is when discouragement comes is understand this. It is a
- 3:32Speaker 7: part of the growth process. It is a test. It
- 3:39Speaker 7: is a test of your faith. How bad you want it,
- 3:45Speaker 7: do you really believe? That's all faith is is, simply,
- 3:51Speaker 7: and I've said this how many times. Faith is the
- 3:54Speaker 7: belief in things that you cannot see. So when discouragement comes,
- 3:59Speaker 7: set back comes, it is a test of your faith.
- 4:03Speaker 7: At least it's been that way for me. Now other
- 4:06Speaker 7: people can explain it another way. I'm not other people.
- 4:09Speaker 7: I can only give it to you the way it
- 4:11Speaker 7: has come to me and throughout my life, and man
- 4:13Speaker 7: o man or man discouragement sometimes it's tough to deal
- 4:18Speaker 7: with because it seems at times when you are discouraged
- 4:24Speaker 7: that is so absolute that this means the end, and
- 4:31Speaker 7: if you allow it to set in, it can be
- 4:35Speaker 7: just that the end of you, when merely merely it
- 4:39Speaker 7: was a test, that's all it is. But the majority
- 4:43Speaker 7: of people that I know who are not successful or
- 4:48Speaker 7: who have told me the story of how they gave up,
- 4:51Speaker 7: it was because at a moment of discouragement that they
- 4:56Speaker 7: allowed it to set in and it became so engulfing
- 5:01Speaker 7: that it became the reason why you shouldn't finish. And
- 5:04Speaker 7: then they started justifying it with hit the one that
- 5:07Speaker 7: I hate to hear. Well, if it's God's will, excuse me.
- 5:13Speaker 7: If it's God's will that you fail. If it's God's
- 5:17Speaker 7: will that you're not successful. If it's God's will that
- 5:23Speaker 7: you lay down and give up, it's God's will that
- 5:27Speaker 7: you allow yourself to amount to, not to not reach
- 5:31Speaker 7: your potential. That's God's will. That's not the God I know.
- 5:37Speaker 7: That's not the God I served, That's not the God
- 5:40Speaker 7: I've read about. That's not the God I believe in.
- 5:43Speaker 7: I'm sorry. I just my mother always taught me something
- 5:47Speaker 7: that he didn't bring me this far.
- 5:48Speaker 2: To leave me. I just don't believe that, not for
- 5:53Speaker 2: a second.
- 5:55Speaker 7: Now have I convinced myself for some things, yep? Have
- 6:00Speaker 7: I allowed the devil to come into the picture and
- 6:02Speaker 7: paint a different one from it? Yep, yep, I've done
- 6:06Speaker 7: all of that, But you can't blame that on God. Now,
- 6:09Speaker 7: come on, So when discouragement comes, try to look at
- 6:17Speaker 7: it if you can, as a test of your faith,
- 6:21Speaker 7: and you merely have to pass the test. It could
- 6:25Speaker 7: be for a day, a half a day, a few hours,
- 6:28Speaker 7: a week, a few weeks, it don't matter. Don't nobody
- 6:31Speaker 7: know how long the test period is. Your job is
- 6:34Speaker 7: to keep the faith and keep moving. Keep the faith
- 6:38Speaker 7: and keep moving, keep working, keep believing, keep hope alive.
- 6:44Speaker 7: That's your job. If you do that, that's how you
- 6:48Speaker 7: pass the test. It could be over tomorrow, it could
- 6:51Speaker 7: be over in two weeks, it could be over in
- 6:53Speaker 7: a month.
- 6:53Speaker 2: You don't know.
- 6:54Speaker 7: But all you got to do is wake up and
- 6:57Speaker 7: keep the faith and fight the discouraging feel And how
- 7:00Speaker 7: do you do that?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Steve? Now here we go.
- 7:03Speaker 7: This is the part I know about for show because
- 7:06Speaker 7: how many times I've had to fight off discouragement in
- 7:10Speaker 7: order to get to where God wanted me to be.
- 7:14Speaker 7: What do you do when you become discouraged? Well, I
- 7:19Speaker 7: think of the outcome. When I get discouraged about a task,
- 7:23Speaker 7: I think about the outcome. Man, what would it be like,
- 7:27Speaker 7: if I were to complete the task, what would it
- 7:30Speaker 7: be like?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Man?
- 7:31Speaker 1: What would the outcome be for me if I hung
- 7:34Speaker 1: loan in there? If I didn't give.
- 7:36Speaker 7: Up, If I imagine, I imagine if I don't quit.
- 7:42Speaker 7: I imagine if I don't give up, what would it
- 7:46Speaker 7: be like? Man, Suppose everything I'm hoping for comes true.
- 7:52Speaker 7: But if I don't quit and give up, that might
- 7:54Speaker 7: just be the case. I start talking to myself like that,
- 8:00Speaker 7: think of what the upside is. What's the upside to
- 8:03Speaker 7: stay in with it? You see, all this is the
- 8:06Speaker 7: same thing. I'm just giving you different ways to look
- 8:09Speaker 7: at it. I'm saying the exact same thing over and over.
- 8:11Speaker 7: But I'm just trying to find the switch that connects
- 8:14Speaker 7: in your mind where you can say, Okay, man, I'm
- 8:17Speaker 7: gonna hang in there. Because if you think of the
- 8:20Speaker 7: outcome and the outcome is appealing to you, if you
- 8:23Speaker 7: imagine what it would be like if you don't give
- 8:26Speaker 7: up or you don't quit, if you think only of
- 8:30Speaker 7: what the upside is to stay in with it, And
- 8:34Speaker 7: then I go, where can this lead to? If I
- 8:38Speaker 7: stay with it, man, and the outcome comes true? What
- 8:42Speaker 7: else could that lead me to? Because I mean, there's
- 8:46Speaker 7: always more to it. So where else could this lead
- 8:49Speaker 7: me to? What are the possibilities?
- 8:53Speaker 4: Man?
- 8:54Speaker 7: What are the limitless possibilities? What could God possibly have
- 8:59Speaker 7: in store for me? If I just hang in there,
- 9:01Speaker 7: if I pass this test of faith? If I just
- 9:05Speaker 7: pass this test, now, it ain't gonna be the only one.
- 9:08Speaker 7: But you gotta get past this one. No, then you
- 9:11Speaker 7: gonna hear the smooth plane. Then it's gonna be another one.
- 9:14Speaker 7: It's gonna be another one. Life ain't nothing but a
- 9:17Speaker 7: series of tests.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Man.
- 9:20Speaker 7: Man, when you're thinking about giving up, when you're discouraged,
- 9:24Speaker 7: think of the outcome. Imagine what it would be like
- 9:28Speaker 7: if you don't quit, if you don't give up, what's
- 9:30Speaker 7: the upside to staying with it? Where can this all
- 9:34Speaker 7: lead to? What can this get you to? If you
- 9:38Speaker 7: do this and you get to where you think you
- 9:40Speaker 7: want to be? Oh my god, what's after that? What
- 9:44Speaker 7: are the limitless and endless possibilities of holding on to
- 9:49Speaker 7: your faith?
- 9:50Speaker 2: What could really be out there for me?
- 9:52Speaker 8: Man?
- 9:52Speaker 2: If I just pass this test, you gotta talk yourself
- 9:56Speaker 2: into hanging in there.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 17:08Speaker 2: Be me free, bad than a mother? Stop right there?
- 17:15Speaker 7: Mother is the beginning over one of my favorite words. Read,
- 17:23Speaker 7: I hear you saying, let me hear you play us
- 17:28Speaker 7: when you.
- 17:28Speaker 10: See me here like you know me. I keep a

- 17:52Speaker 7: see me, appreciate.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Like you know me. That's right.
- 18:01Speaker 7: Keep a dollar worth of dimes has been interpreted two ways.
- 18:07Speaker 7: A more modern interpretation was I keep a dollar worth
- 18:11Speaker 7: of dimes.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Dimes.
- 18:13Speaker 7: Being a fine woman has been described sometimes as dimes.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I keep a dollar worth of dimes. That means ten
- 18:26Speaker 2: of them.
- 18:28Speaker 7: All school interpretation was I keep a dollar worth of dimes.
- 18:35Speaker 7: Pay Phones used to be a dime to make a call. Ah,
- 18:40Speaker 7: I kept a pocket full of dimes.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Because pim ain't he's in. Somebody gotta do it, somebody
- 18:49Speaker 2: ain't gotta do it.
- 18:50Speaker 7: And if you ain't got no dimes, hard to be
- 18:53Speaker 7: a pimp. Weren't no cell phones back then.
- 18:57Speaker 2: You need a dollar worth of dime.
- 18:59Speaker 10: Read up for all you chicks in the club who
- 19:05Speaker 10: know how to cut a rust?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Stop right there?
- 19:08Speaker 7: Anybody out here know how to damn read Yeah, if

- 19:27Speaker 10: I'm ready to be bad. Stop right now. Yeah, ye
- 19:33Speaker 10: were about to bring it up? Yes up, sister, What
- 19:37Speaker 10: the whole thing is that? Get at me?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I say, get at me? Yes, best preach get at me? Amen,
- 19:48Speaker 1: they shake it.
- 19:50Speaker 3: M s.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Well what your mama gave you birthday?
- 20:02Speaker 3: Girl?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Over that moment?
- 20:04Speaker 11: Like I like it?
- 20:07Speaker 3: I like this sermon.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Oh what is the last part?
- 20:12Speaker 3: Deacon?
- 20:12Speaker 2: One more time?
- 20:13Speaker 10: Read uh uh and saying, work me baby, taking it
- 20:18Speaker 10: the way I like, I'm gonna start right there.
- 20:21Speaker 12: Work me, work me, put me the task, work me,
- 20:31Speaker 12: make me do.
- 20:32Speaker 7: Something he work me, roll my eyes back in my head,
- 20:38Speaker 7: work me, make me blow slob outside of my mouth.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Work have mean looking for stuff all in the back

- 20:51Speaker 7: Work me, got mind, roll back, work me, work me, baby,

- 21:02Speaker 2: I like to get work on. I like thats happening

- 22:48Speaker 9: I said, yes, yes I was. Why is he so
- 22:52Speaker 9: concerned about what I'm talking about?
- 22:55Speaker 7: Well, if you're talking about him, he gonna be concerned. Listen,
- 23:00Speaker 7: just say the first time you've talked about he's overheard
- 23:04Speaker 7: some other stuff. He heard some stuff and when yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 7: is he.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Just knows he or is he just concerned what she's
- 23:10Speaker 1: talking about?
- 23:11Speaker 7: It now here hustling because he'll find out some stuff.
- 23:14Speaker 7: He's overheard some stuff he didn't know about his son.
- 23:18Speaker 7: He made me so sick, she said, he.
- 23:25Speaker 2: And all e com said, oh really, it's going down
- 23:29Speaker 2: like that. So yeah, yeah, it's all all right, there's
- 23:32Speaker 2: nothing you can do about it.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Okay, moving on to friends, You.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Got a cellphone? Walk off?
- 23:38Speaker 9: Okay, yeah, well she said she whispers and stuff. But anyway,
- 23:43Speaker 9: moving on to friends in Jersey City. Friend says, I'm
- 23:46Speaker 9: married and my wife and I have two kids. I
- 23:49Speaker 9: also have a grown daughter from a previous relationship, and
- 23:52Speaker 9: she needs a place to live. My wife doesn't want
- 23:56Speaker 9: her at the house, and it is putting me in
- 23:58Speaker 9: an awkward position.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What do I tell my daughter?
- 24:02Speaker 2: Wow, why don't you just help her get a place
- 24:05Speaker 2: to live? Yeah, why don't you get back?
- 24:09Speaker 7: Okay, that's your only solution now if you can't afford
- 24:12Speaker 7: to do that, when you had to go to your wife,
- 24:16Speaker 7: your wife don't want her here because that's another relationship
- 24:20Speaker 7: and she has to be reminded of what you did
- 24:22Speaker 7: in the past, even even if you did it before
- 24:25Speaker 7: you met her, even if this was a relationship before
- 24:28Speaker 7: you even knew your wife. She just don't want it
- 24:31Speaker 7: up in the house. She may not be comfortable with
- 24:33Speaker 7: the girl. That depends on how old the girl is.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, he didn't say, He just said she
- 24:40Speaker 1: was grown. I have a grown well she grown.
- 24:42Speaker 7: You know, they might not have a good relationship, and
- 24:45Speaker 7: then you can't expect me. You can't put your wife
- 24:47Speaker 7: out like that. Now, I understand you. I've been in
- 24:50Speaker 7: one of them situations similar to that too, where the
- 24:54Speaker 7: grown kid wanted something.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And my wife didn't. Yeah, the white blowed.
- 25:02Speaker 9: I just want to say that, all right, all right, friends.
- 25:09Speaker 9: Moving on to Evelyn in Savannah. Evelyn says, my boyfriend
- 25:14Speaker 9: and I are celebrating twenty years of dating and his
- 25:18Speaker 9: family is not celebrating with us because they're all so
- 25:21Speaker 9: called Christians that think we should be married. Why are
- 25:24Speaker 9: they being judgmental and trying to ruin our special celebration
- 25:28Speaker 9: twenty years of dating?
- 25:30Speaker 2: We're so special about it?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty years?
- 25:32Speaker 2: What y'all celebrate? Y'all just stay together for twenty years?
- 25:38Speaker 1: Not marriage, but dat dating? Twenty years of dating? What
- 25:43Speaker 1: a married? Yeah, that's the question.
- 25:47Speaker 2: It's you want to go to the movies with me?
- 25:54Speaker 1: That's probably what.
- 25:55Speaker 9: Her family's thinking too, And she thinks they're being judgmental
- 25:58Speaker 9: because they're not married and trying to ruin their celebration.
- 26:03Speaker 7: Listen to me, you had a celebration between the two
- 26:07Speaker 7: of y'all, stop expecting people to feel the way you
- 26:10Speaker 7: feel to say nothing to said, don't make no really,
- 26:14Speaker 7: you know you we've been together twenty years. Why y'all
- 26:17Speaker 7: not married.
- 26:20Speaker 2: By just dating?
- 26:22Speaker 9: Maybe they don't, she didn't say it. Maybe they're not
- 26:25Speaker 9: the marrying kind obviously after twenty Yeah, do.
- 26:30Speaker 10: They let it go?
- 26:32Speaker 1: She didn't say they They've been dating for twenty years.
- 26:37Speaker 9: That's all the information we have, and they want their

- 27:03Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty years.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Man, you stop expecting people to be happy for you
- 27:07Speaker 2: for what?
- 27:09Speaker 7: Because lady, he has convinced you that what you all
- 27:16Speaker 7: have is great the way it is, Yeah, because you
- 27:18Speaker 7: all have had this marriage conversation, it's no way you
- 27:21Speaker 7: have it.
- 27:22Speaker 2: And what he's done is he's told you what we
- 27:25Speaker 2: have is great. Why would we mess that up? Oh,
- 27:29Speaker 2: we don't need no piece of paper to define our love.
- 27:37Speaker 7: You've had this conversation twenty years with the person of
- 27:40Speaker 7: dating the subject of marriage has come up more than ten.
- 27:45Speaker 9: Times twenty years of dating. Wow, that's a lot of dates.
- 27:52Speaker 9: What a lot of days twenty years?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Wow? All right, olive garden right there?
- 28:07Speaker 1: Hey, grand sticks unlimited after twenty years? Yeah, all right,
- 28:16Speaker 1: last one.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Steve H.
- 28:18Speaker 9: Mackenzie in Beaumont writes, I had a wild night recently
- 28:23Speaker 9: and had sex in the bathroom of a club with
- 28:25Speaker 9: a random guy. I ran into him the other day
- 28:28Speaker 9: and he was happy to see me, but I barely
- 28:31Speaker 9: remembered him. He asked me to go out. Does he
- 28:34Speaker 9: want a date or just sex? Well, come on, carve
- 28:39Speaker 9: both both?
- 28:42Speaker 1: Would you wrap.
- 28:51Speaker 10: Well?
- 28:51Speaker 2: Of course he wants, of course.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, in the bathroom at a club.
- 29:00Speaker 2: That's when it's good though.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Hang on, did you say anything out of your mouth?
- 29:09Speaker 3: No filtering, no idea.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I'm talking about it.
- 29:13Speaker 10: I'm talking about way everything, everything in the auto, many
- 29:15Speaker 10: everything going off, the tilet flushing back, I said, man,
- 29:19Speaker 10: paper running out of that machine, the water coming on
- 29:21Speaker 10: on the foxyboy, there's a lot happening up in there.
- 29:23Speaker 1: KD too much.
- 29:25Speaker 9: The bathroom attended is in the air with peppermans.
- 29:31Speaker 2: So what do you think?
- 29:32Speaker 1: Steve says he wants a date.
- 29:35Speaker 2: We want to have sex?
- 29:36Speaker 3: What what?
- 29:37Speaker 2: What's what y'all ain't got y'all ain't got no memories.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Right, they haven't been together twenty years. You don't even
- 29:47Speaker 1: know your last name?
- 29:50Speaker 3: Right?
- 29:51Speaker 2: Or yeah?
- 29:52Speaker 7: Right?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 29:54Speaker 9: She barely remembered him when he when she's ran into him,
- 30:00Speaker 9: he remembered her.

- 30:22Speaker 2: Look and be quiet.
- 30:25Speaker 9: Coming up at the top of the hour, we'll have
- 30:27Speaker 9: some entertainment news for you right after this.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You're listening Hardy Morning show.
- 30:37Speaker 9: Well, guys, for the first time in history, in the
- 30:39Speaker 9: history of reality shows, we saw a mother, Jackie Christie,
- 30:44Speaker 9: swing on her daughter on camera. This was on last
- 30:48Speaker 9: week's episode of Basketball Wives. I don't know if you
- 30:51Speaker 9: guys saw this.
- 30:52Speaker 1: There's been a.
- 30:53Speaker 9: Very shaky relationship between Jackie Christy and her children. Jackie
- 30:58Speaker 9: is a wife of legendary NBA player Doug Christie. Jackie
- 31:01Speaker 9: and Doug's daughter, Chantelle is on the show now and
- 31:05Speaker 9: Chantelle's main storyline is trying to make amends with her
- 31:08Speaker 9: Mom Jackie. The relationship between Jackie and Chantell went from
- 31:12Speaker 9: heated to explosive and turned into a physical altercation in
- 31:17Speaker 9: a hotel room in Hawaii. We could see Chantelle push
- 31:20Speaker 9: Jackie off of her, and then Jackie lunged at her
- 31:23Speaker 9: daughter with closed fists and it looks like she punched Chantell.
- 31:28Speaker 9: Security came in then and pulled the ladies apart. Afterwards,
- 31:31Speaker 9: Jackie called her husband to tell him what happened. And
- 31:34Speaker 9: of course we'll have to tune in to Basketball Wives.
- 31:37Speaker 9: Their season finale is tonight to see how it ends.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I saw mom. Yeah, Chantell had a broken nail. Yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 1: more than daughter.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yeah, they've had a really I know, a whole.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Lot of black men left taste out there teas mouth.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I'm on camera, off camera in front of people.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Out in the grocery store at leash kard wish there
- 32:00Speaker 8: was one wait what happened? But at least Carroll hit me,
- 32:04Speaker 8: y'all did y'all wouldn't y'all.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Be come to my rescue?
- 32:07Speaker 1: There was no outrage, That wasn't nothing. Who was in
- 32:11Speaker 1: the grocery store? But you need to get out of
- 32:15Speaker 1: the show.
- 32:16Speaker 13: The check out line number three should have did something.
- 32:19Speaker 13: She didn't even take that hit, that's all she did.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Quit the scanning and jump of her.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Help me, help you see me?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a lot.
- 32:31Speaker 5: It was.
- 32:32Speaker 1: It was a lot to see them going at it
- 32:34Speaker 1: like that all. You know, for that amount of time,
- 32:38Speaker 1: you need to get off reality TV if you and
- 32:40Speaker 1: your child are on camera.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Low.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that was too much for the family. It really
- 32:46Speaker 1: is too much. And Jackie has been on the show
- 32:48Speaker 1: for a long time and her daughter just came on
- 32:50Speaker 1: this season.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 7: I just have a problem with people disrespecting their brothers.
- 32:57Speaker 7: I just have a problem with that.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I mean, you know, mad Yeah, a mother. Look, mothers
- 33:04Speaker 2: aren't perfect people. I get that.
- 33:06Speaker 7: I get that, but there's a certain amount of grace
- 33:10Speaker 7: that they should be given. Yeah, because they gave you life.
- 33:15Speaker 7: They gave you life, and a lot of these kids
- 33:18Speaker 7: don't even really realize it's sacrifices that their mothers have
- 33:23Speaker 7: made for them to even be in a position to
- 33:25Speaker 7: be they that they in.
- 33:26Speaker 1: They forget all of that, and that's part of it, Steve.
- 33:29Speaker 9: With these two ladies, the daughter is complaining that the
- 33:33Speaker 9: mother hasn't been there for her, you know, since childhood
- 33:37Speaker 9: and all that so she's bitter about that. She's hurt
- 33:39Speaker 9: because of that, and it's playing out on camera now.
- 33:42Speaker 9: She came on the show and it just exploded. You know,
- 33:46Speaker 9: we didn't even know all of this.
- 33:48Speaker 2: It's gonna take a lot to fiction. It's gonna take
- 33:51Speaker 2: a lot to Steve.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 2: They swinging on your mam and your mama swinging on you.
- 33:59Speaker 9: It's bad enough with they fight amongst themselves, the women,
- 34:02Speaker 9: and now you've got families going at it.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Well anyway, Yeah, I.
- 34:06Speaker 13: Just feel like there's way too much thought.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I think we are.
- 34:10Speaker 1: That's thought tonight.
- 34:14Speaker 2: When she hit me, y'all didn't do nothing.
- 34:16Speaker 8: I was looking at the name tag it said Cheryl,
- 34:19Speaker 8: and I was looking at Snickers the next moment.
- 34:21Speaker 2: It was quick.
- 34:23Speaker 1: It was so fast, y'all.
- 34:26Speaker 13: So I cannot understand.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I can't anyth get it to me.
- 34:31Speaker 1: All Right, we're gonna move on.
- 34:33Speaker 9: Despite Tyler Perry being a billionaire, we all know he is,
- 34:36Speaker 9: he opened up about firing his aunt that wasn't taking
- 34:40Speaker 9: her job seriously. Tyler did an interview with Kirk Franklin
- 34:44Speaker 9: uh and when talking about working with family, Tyler said
- 34:47Speaker 9: his aunt would always call asking him for money, so
- 34:51Speaker 9: he offered her a job and she took it, but
- 34:53Speaker 9: she didn't take the job seriously, Tyler said, quote, she
- 34:56Speaker 9: wouldn't come to work. So I'm like, okay, well you
- 34:59Speaker 9: got to go. You want me to hand you the money,
- 35:02Speaker 9: but you don't want to work for it. See that
- 35:04Speaker 9: doesn't work for me. So Steve, you agree with that?
- 35:07Speaker 9: How Tyler hands on situation with his aunt Tommy get
- 35:11Speaker 9: along with family?
- 35:14Speaker 2: No, it's I mean, it's just one hundred percent, y'all.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It's people.
- 35:18Speaker 7: People are because you have money that you should just
- 35:20Speaker 7: give it to them with no forethought to what it
- 35:24Speaker 7: took for him to have the money.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Tyler go to work all the time. Yeah, Tyler at work,
- 35:30Speaker 2: he busy.
- 35:33Speaker 14: Now you.
- 35:35Speaker 7: Want some money, He give you a chance to take
- 35:38Speaker 7: care stuff. Now you don't want to do that?
- 35:40Speaker 2: Bye?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's what happened. Yeah, it was a really
- 35:45Speaker 1: good episode.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I fired a relative before closer than an aunt too.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Mean he hired you.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Back in the close?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Halla, what about today?
- 36:05Speaker 9: La?
- 36:09Speaker 2: Finally he used to miss a lot of Mondays though, Yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 2: still does. Yeah. Finally.

- 48:00Speaker 11: So yes, I've been doing this for over ten years.
- 48:02Speaker 11: But I'm a little confused as to why you're calling
- 48:07Speaker 11: about this time. I'm just a little to confused. I
- 48:09Speaker 11: don't know who you are. You say that if I
- 48:11Speaker 11: see your face. I may know you, but I what
- 48:14Speaker 11: what does this have to do with anything? Is how

- 48:45Speaker 1: Did she get me?
- 48:46Speaker 13: No?
- 48:46Speaker 10: That's what I'm getting at. So, so you know, you
- 48:49Speaker 10: know my you know, my honest is death. You know
- 48:51Speaker 10: she's hearing any pay you know that right?
- 48:53Speaker 3: Okay?
- 48:53Speaker 14: Yes, okay.
- 48:55Speaker 2: So so here's a problem.
- 48:57Speaker 10: I ain't Murderer is telling us that you not doing
- 49:00Speaker 10: the sign language right, doing the service and like you're
- 49:04Speaker 10: missing some things in the scripture.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Or something.
- 49:08Speaker 11: That's incorrect. I've been doing this for a very long
- 49:12Speaker 11: time and I know what I'm doing. So how you
- 49:14Speaker 11: so she told you for me to tell me that
- 49:16Speaker 11: I'm not doing this outline correctly.
- 49:18Speaker 2: That's what let me say.

- 49:26Speaker 10: us what was going on. You know. We then went
- 49:30Speaker 10: to one of the deacons and asked him, you know,
- 49:31Speaker 10: is that way we can uh have a meeting, you know,
- 49:34Speaker 10: with with with Sister Laurence so we can try to
- 49:36Speaker 10: get this taken care of and talk about it. He said, well,
- 49:39Speaker 10: won't you just won't you just call and y'all can
- 49:41Speaker 10: just work it out. And and that's how I'm calling
- 49:45Speaker 10: you now. I hope you I don't know if you're
- 49:47Speaker 10: at work or whatever. I apologize, but I'm just trying
- 49:49Speaker 10: to get to the bottom up.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Now, let me go and say this. If I ain't.
- 49:52Speaker 10: Murders say that you ain't signing right, then MI AINTI
- 49:56Speaker 10: ain't lying. That means your excuse me, that means you
- 49:59Speaker 10: ain't signing right.
- 50:02Speaker 11: Really, so the pastor couldn't come to me, but he
- 50:05Speaker 11: but you figured you would just call me and tell
- 50:08Speaker 11: me that your auntie says that I'm doing incorrectly. That
- 50:11Speaker 11: doesn't make sense to me. How does she tell you
- 50:13Speaker 11: that did she sign it to you?
- 50:15Speaker 10: She signed language to her daughter. Listen, you ain't got
- 50:18Speaker 10: to worry about who she's signing too. What you need
- 50:21Speaker 10: to worry about is getting your getting your stuff together
- 50:24Speaker 10: all right, and learning how to do this the correct
- 50:26Speaker 10: way so that my Aintie can get You know, Miainti
- 50:29Speaker 10: needs to be getting the word like everybody else getting
- 50:31Speaker 10: the word, but she not getting it because you the
- 50:33Speaker 10: word is getting lost in your hands.
- 50:36Speaker 11: All I'm hearing is your voice is getting very loud
- 50:39Speaker 11: and you need to match my tone. Young man. Okay,
- 50:41Speaker 11: let's start with that. What I mean, where's that match
- 50:48Speaker 11: my tone? Because you're getting very loud and I can't
- 50:51Speaker 11: hear through all of that. All right, Okay, okay, I
- 50:55Speaker 11: this situation you called my phone? Correct. You have the
- 51:00Speaker 11: problem that you're discusting with me, but you're getting more
- 51:02Speaker 11: angry than anything else. How am I going to resolve
- 51:04Speaker 11: this problem? I am trying to be a course.
- 51:07Speaker 10: The where you resolved this problem is carryos back to
- 51:10Speaker 10: science school so you can learn what you need to
- 51:12Speaker 10: so my Anie can get the word. Mine Ainty can't
- 51:14Speaker 10: get the gospel because you messing it up.
- 51:17Speaker 11: God anointed me to do style language at that church,
- 51:21Speaker 11: and I've been doing it for a long time and
- 51:23Speaker 11: I will continue to do so. So don't call my
- 51:26Speaker 11: phone telling me that I'm not doing something right?
- 51:28Speaker 3: You know?

- 57:20Speaker 2: you here. It is a Strawberry letter.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Thank you, nephews. Subject my ungrateful young employee. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 57:27Speaker 9: I'm a relatively successful entrepreneur and I have had a
- 57:30Speaker 9: lot of help along the way. I believe in returning
- 57:33Speaker 9: the favor and helping other minorities advance any way I can.
- 57:37Speaker 9: To that end, About a year ago, I hired a
- 57:39Speaker 9: twenty six year old black female that graduated at the
- 57:42Speaker 9: top of her class. I set her up with an
- 57:44Speaker 9: excellent starting salary and her own office. I noticed she
- 57:48Speaker 9: was not much of a team player and worked better alone,
- 57:51Speaker 9: and that was fine with me because she was very
- 57:53Speaker 9: smart and didn't need a lot of directions at times.
- 57:57Speaker 1: I noticed that.
- 58:00Speaker 9: She lacks the emotional intelligence that is required in business,
- 58:04Speaker 9: and it was hard for her to keep her game
- 58:06Speaker 9: face on when she got flustered. Despite that, she's one
- 58:09Speaker 9: of my best employees, so I added her to a
- 58:12Speaker 9: global teams meeting that we have had weekly. I've impressed
- 58:16Speaker 9: with how much she's advanced in one year, and so
- 58:19Speaker 9: is the team. On the video call, one of our
- 58:22Speaker 9: biggest investors acknowledged her as the newest member and congratulated
- 58:27Speaker 9: her for being the youngest person to ever join the team. Surprisingly,
- 58:31Speaker 9: she replied, I appreciate that, but I've been doing way
- 58:35Speaker 9: more than I was hired to do, and I'd like
- 58:37Speaker 9: to discuss an increase in salary and a promotion. The
- 58:40Speaker 9: call got quiet, and everyone looked uneasy. She's been with
- 58:45Speaker 9: me for one year and she was awarded the highest
- 58:47Speaker 9: entry level salary of anyone. I broke the silence by
- 58:51Speaker 9: telling her that we'd have to discuss that later. I
- 58:53Speaker 9: was appalled at her attitude and I would love to
- 58:56Speaker 9: get her viewpoints on this? Do I allow of you
- 58:59Speaker 9: points I would love to get. I'm sorry, I would
- 59:01Speaker 9: love to get your viewpoints on this. Do I allow
- 59:03Speaker 9: her to grow with my company or turn my focus
- 59:06Speaker 9: to one of my male interns that always has a
- 59:09Speaker 9: great attitude and is willing to learn. Please advise, this
- 59:16Speaker 9: is not personal, right, this is business. You said yourself.
- 59:19Speaker 9: She's smart, she graduated at the top of her class,
- 59:22Speaker 9: she's one of your best people at the job.
- 59:25Speaker 1: How is she ungrateful?
- 59:27Speaker 9: Can you not afford to give her a raise? I
- 59:29Speaker 9: know you said you were relatively successful. I mean, but
- 59:32Speaker 9: can you not afford to give her one? If she's
- 59:34Speaker 9: deserving and a promotion that she asked for?
- 59:37Speaker 13: Is that it?
- 59:38Speaker 9: If it is, I think you should say that because
- 59:41Speaker 9: I say, let her be great and don't get mad
- 59:45Speaker 9: because she believes she deserves a raise.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I mean, she is who she is.
- 59:49Speaker 9: Her timing might be a bit off because you're judging
- 59:51Speaker 9: how long she's been at the company and what you've
- 59:53Speaker 9: done for her already, meaning you gave her a big
- 59:58Speaker 9: entry level starting to salary. But it sounds to me
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: like she understands her value and her worth to this company,
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: and she wants to be compensated for it. I'm not
- 1:00:07Speaker 9: sure why you're so upset that she wants a raise.
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: I think you said she's a valuable employee. You said
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: that throughout the letter. She's young and.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Hungry, she wants to get paid.
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: You can talk to her and tell her this shouldn't
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: have been discussed at that time if you like. But
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: I like her confidence, I like her boldness, I like
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: her fearlessness. Every company I think needs people like this.
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: I think you should celebrate her, Like you said, get
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: her viewpoint, get well, you said, get our viewpoints on this.
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: But see where her head is too on this situation.
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: Why she picked that moment to say it? You know,
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: but I don't think there's a law against asking for
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: a raise. And the alarming thing in the.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Letters that you said, should you turn your focus.
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: On your mail interns that always have a great attitude
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: and are willing to learn.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: What does that have to do with anything?
- 1:00:59Speaker 9: Are you upset that she a female and she asked
- 1:01:01Speaker 9: for a raise? I mean, really, what are you really
- 1:01:04Speaker 9: saying here, Steve? I think she deserves everything she should get.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: Steve, My question is simple. My ungrateful young employee. Is
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: this a woman writing the letter or a man?
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I assumed it was a man's but it might be
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: a woman.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: See I thought it was a man too.
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: So now let me give you a peek inside the
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: mind of a man, because if this is a man,
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: which I thought it was too, something else is going
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: on here. See I read between the lines. Your successful
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: entrepreneur had a lot of help. Long a way you
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: return to favor and all this helping minorities any way
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: you can. About a year ago, you hired a twenty
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: six year old black female that graduated at the top
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: of a class. You set up with an excellent starting salary,
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: her own office. I noticed she was not much of
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: a team player. Okay, that's usually not good. She worked
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: better alone, and that was fine with me because she's
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: very smart and didn't need a lot of direction.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Okay, so you let that go at times. And here's
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: the key to this whole letter.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: I noticed that she lacks the emotional intelligence that is
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: required in business, and it's hard for her to keep
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: her game face on when she's flustered. Okay, she's young,
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: but you gave her her own office. You gave her
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: this grace salary. She twenty six, So what was it?
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Dog?
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: So now you know I'm just watching you now. Despite
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: all of that, she's one of the best employees. So
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: you added to her to a global team meeting we
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: had weekly. She's advanced. You impressed by the advance on
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: one video called one of our biggest investors, acknowledged her
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: newest member, congratulated her for being the youngest person ever
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: joined the team, and then she replied, I appreciate that,
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: but I've been doing way more than I was hired
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: to do it. I'd like to discuss an increase in
- 1:03:00Speaker 7: salary and promotion and the problem.
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: Call hang on Part two of your responses coming up
- 1:03:07Speaker 9: at twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's subject my
- 1:03:10Speaker 9: ungrateful young employee. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey, it's your girl,
- 1:03:23Speaker 9: Shirley Strawberry. You know, mornings just aren't complete without a
- 1:03:27Speaker 9: McDonald's breakfast. Have you heard about the new spicy sausage
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: McMuffin with egg It's got a creamy red pepper heat. Hmm.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I've got to try that.
- 1:03:37Speaker 9: I'm thinking it would hit just right with my morning coffee,
- 1:03:40Speaker 9: and there's nothing like that rush of making it to
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: McDonald's in time for breakfast. Swing by and make your
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: morning at McDonald's Morning Bada Da Da da at participating
- 1:03:49Speaker 9: restaurants for a limited time only. All right, Come on, Steve,
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: let's recap today's Strawberry Letters. Subject my ungrateful young employee.
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: So last a woman who wrote the letter that we
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: just learned this on the commercial break from people who
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: pull the Strawberry letter. So it's a woman, which don't
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: change much. You hide this black female. You've been a
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: successful entpreneur. You try to give back the minority to
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: help her move along. You hide his sister, twenty six
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: year old black female graduate top of her class, You
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: set up with an excellent starting salary in her own office.
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: Know that she wasn't much of a team player. She
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: worked better alone and was fine because she's very smart
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: and don't need a lot of direction.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: That's what you said. But to me, here is again
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: the whole meat behind this letter.
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: At times I noticed that she lacks the emotional intelligence
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: that is required in business, and it's hard for her
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: to keep her game face on when she gets flushed.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: A typical sign of a young person.
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: She's young, she young, she don't know the game face,
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: she lacks the emotional business intelligence. Okay, I got it now.
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: Despite that, she's one of your best employees. Okay, so
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: obviously you need some more employees. So I added her
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: to a global team meeting that we had weekly. You
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: were just impressed with how much she's advanced in one year,
- 1:05:15Speaker 7: and so is the team. Everybody's impressed with her. But
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: on the video call, one of your biggest investors acknowledged
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: her as the newest member and congratulated her for being
- 1:05:24Speaker 7: the youngest person ever joined the team.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: And this was her response.
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: You say, surprisingly, I appreciate that, but I've been doing
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: way more than I was hired to do, and I
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: like to discuss an increase in salary and the promotion.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Carl got quiet. Everybody looked uneasy.
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: You know why because this person that lacks the emotional
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: intelligence that is required in business, and it's hard for
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: her to keep her game faced on when she flustered.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: She flustered and frustrated after year working and now she
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: let it blurt out on the global team call. That's
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: how you thought it was the best way to get
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: a raise. Are you kidding me? You put everybody on
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: the phone call uneasy. She has been with me for
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: one year and she was awarded at the highest entry level.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Salary of anyone.
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: And then you broke the silence by telling her that
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: we'd have to discuss that later. And you know why
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: you had to tell her because then you say I
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: was appalled at her attitude. Well why you surprised? You
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: said that she lacks the emotional intelligence that is required
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: in business, and it's hard for her to teep her
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: game face on when she gets flustered. She got flustered,
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: she cracked. She figured, now I'm asked for a raise
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: right after these compliments on.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: The global team. That's stupid.
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: See this lack of emotional intelligence and business is how
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: you make business. Because what I've learned in business is
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: not always the smartest people. It's the best people to
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: work with. She don't work well with others. She works
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: best by herself. You know, I can't have this crazy
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: person talking in big meetings for me because they don't
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: work well with others. And then she blew it. Now
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: she says, I would love to get your viewpoint on this.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: Do I allow her to grow with my company, or
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: turn my focus to one of my male interns that's
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: always has a great attitude and willing to learn. I
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: don't think it's a matter of turning your attention to anybody.
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: I think your determination has to be is this person
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: worth continuing on with? First of all, I would point
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: out to her the absurdness and the ridiculousness of you
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: popping off at a global meeting asking for a raise.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: You're selfish?
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Hey, Steve, I want to ask you a question. When
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: is a good time to ask for a race?
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: It is when you're not on the global team. Come.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like there's ever a good time. That's
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: my point.
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: It's any times a good time to ask for a raise.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: If you ask for an appointment to see your boss,
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: you have every right to go and ask for a race.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: I ain't knocking.
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: I ain't knocking her wanting to raise. I'm knocking the
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: way she went about doing it. You do that in
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: corporate America. Shut a meeting for your selfish? Are you stupidole?
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: But no, wait a minute, are you stupid?
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: And now.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: You done threw out this here in front of everybody else? Like,
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: ain't nobody else.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: At the comedy working hard.
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: So now you got people looking at you sideways, but
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: she don't care because she don't work well with others.
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: Look pull up to the side and say, listen, there
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: all know Raises. At this point you were given the
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: highest entry levels and you've only been here for a year.
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: This is where the company is right now. And I
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: understand something now, you have to you have to put
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: your time in. Sometimes young people want it all right now. Now,
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: this woman that built this company, she ain't got no idea,
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: no idea how long it took to bill. And I'm
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: gonna tell you from first hand experience what I can't
- 1:09:23Speaker 7: stand doing. And I've been working in building my company.
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: You come in because you see me making this. You
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: want this too? Well, that ain't how to work.
- 1:09:31Speaker 13: Homie gets paid what they're working.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: No, I don't think that.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: All right with you.

- 1:11:07Speaker 16: at and play on the football team. But football get directly.
- 1:11:15Speaker 15: Is this a point.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Going you out. I'm going back to play football in
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: college because they're paying players.
- 1:11:23Speaker 13: Directly make the team.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: You can't run?
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: What look at me?

- 1:11:39Speaker 8: But the fact of the matter is they're paying players directly.

- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Players your radio hosts at a comedian.
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: Yeah, but I'm going to play football now and get
- 1:11:52Speaker 8: another check talks about getting checks like I feel will
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: get another check now. My number gonna be eighty nine.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: That's me, you me?
- 1:11:58Speaker 7: How is that?
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Wise?
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: You?
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: That's the temperature you want it to be. That that's wrong,
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: till me, that is very wrong.

- 1:12:09Speaker 1: And that's so true. But you're getting a check coming straight.
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: So if they're gonna pay players, I might as well
- 1:12:16Speaker 8: go get this extra check now.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I'm probably not gonna get on the field. I probably not.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: What would they pay you? But listen to what you saying.

- 1:13:34Speaker 13: No self esteem.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: But they look at your birthday, they're gonna be struggling.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Jor call sure.
- 1:13:43Speaker 13: Thank you for letting me go ahead and be on
- 1:13:45Speaker 13: team that they're paying people.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: It's just a different check.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, the last time tackles.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: All right, Oh that's over forty years with Silk or Sell.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Thank you, Junior.
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: Coming up at the top of the hour, a mom
- 1:13:59Speaker 9: is upset because her ex's girlfriend is around her kids.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this. You're listening to
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:14:12Speaker 9: All right, So this is from Alika in Toronto. And
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: Melika says, I'm getting the kids ready for school and
- 1:14:18Speaker 9: ironing out the schedule with my ex husband, who I
- 1:14:21Speaker 9: normally have a great co parenting relationship with. He's got
- 1:14:24Speaker 9: a new girlfriend and he told me that she will
- 1:14:27Speaker 9: be able to pick the kids up this year because
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: his work schedule changed. That doesn't work for me, And
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: he said, I'm jealous. I don't want a stranger transporting
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: my children. Am I wrong for how I feel?
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: No, you ain't wrong. You'll know this woman.
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: He introduced her to you. You don't let people pick
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: up your kids? What's wrong with him?
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: You owe this woman. This woman had these children. She
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: makes that decision, not you, Pardner. Trust me when I
- 1:14:59Speaker 7: tell you no, she ain't wrong for that. Her kids
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: them her babies. She manufactured all of them in her body.
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: She ain't picking up nobody. Drive down there, see what have.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Pull?
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: You called?
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: And but he immediately went to she's jealous.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: She ain't jealous.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Dog, She's a mother that's right protective of her.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: You're you're stupid. You'd never introduced this woman. You didn't
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: discuss this with your wife. You called your wife and
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: told her she gonna be picking the kids up from now.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: No, she not no, what.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Not my babies?
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: We we if her name ain't even fit to be
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: on the list? Dog?
- 1:15:47Speaker 9: Who is she?
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:15:49Speaker 9: All right, we do have time for another one. This
- 1:15:51Speaker 9: is from Shiva and Knoxville. She says, I have a
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: problem with my husband walking around the house with his
- 1:15:57Speaker 9: hand in his underwear. My son is picking up the
- 1:16:01Speaker 9: bad habit, and it's just so nasty to me. My
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: husband does it, and then he touches the remote, and
- 1:16:07Speaker 9: he touches other stuff without washing that hand that's always
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: in his underwear. He said, it's a habit that he
- 1:16:14Speaker 9: can't stop.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: Is this habit we all do it?
- 1:16:20Speaker 13: I was just about to say I didn't see nothing
- 1:16:21Speaker 13: wrong with it.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: We're laying on the couch watching TV.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: We do it.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: I don't do that. What, Yes, Steve Junior. I don't
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: y'all y'all do this. You don't take no baths, y'all.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: I'm different. You take your hole yourself. That's another line.
- 1:16:50Speaker 8: I'm scratching my thigh right now. Just man stuff, She says.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: It's not a day go by.
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: You have not held yourself. No more turning to TV.
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: I'm not coming to your house, no more turning the TV.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I don't want you over here, no way. I got
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: news for you. Matter of fact.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: So now when you go Steve's house, he's gonna.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Say something so stupid right now that we ain't gonna
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: This is crazy.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Yes, leave you. I'm telling you right now. I don't
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: touch my phone no more. I'll be looking at that Instagram.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Keep your hand off the microphone right now.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: I got to do for you.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Pott gross.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Stop picking up my pens. Yes, stop and on that too.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: For to put herself on everything and the house.
- 1:17:52Speaker 9: She just wants him to wash his hands after he
- 1:17:55Speaker 9: walks around with his hands in his underwear all the time.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Out of sizer watch.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: My aunt ain't y'all don't understand.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: No, we don't. Women don't do this.
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: No item is one of the cleanest items on your body.
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: It's exposed to the least amount of stuff.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Okay, and I know you're trying to make a point,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: but since trying to intellectualize it.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna take your nasty hands and put them
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: in there.
- 1:18:29Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: Please, ain't nobody hearing that?
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: So if you go over your uncle's house, you don't
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: touch your I ain't going over there, no more.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Not walking around like you.
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: Have never touched yourself. Well, I can understand, I have to,
- 1:18:43Speaker 7: so it's not an option for me.

- 1:25:34Speaker 2: You're getting a burger. We established that right, You're getting.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: We are Yeah, okay, let's get it. I love burgers.
- 1:25:40Speaker 9: I love burger cheese burgers, cheese burgers, gotta be cheese,
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: lots of pickles.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: Lots of pickles, and a strawberry cake. Strawberry cake. Told
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: you about that earlier. I used to like strawberry shakes.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: Too, but I probably read all that. Ain't gonna make
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: it too.
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: But I can't.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I can't do it now, can't do it now, not
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: at this big age.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: Can't do it.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: All right, you guys have some questions. See if you're
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: ready to close this out?
- 1:26:11Speaker 10: I stay ready, Okay, I got questions, I got I
- 1:26:15Speaker 10: got some friends that's going through it. So give me
- 1:26:18Speaker 10: your opinion on two relatives who have just completely fallen out.
- 1:26:26Speaker 10: And you know, us as other us as relatives looking
- 1:26:29Speaker 10: at it, watching it unfold, and we see what the
- 1:26:33Speaker 10: problem is.
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: But you know, you don't want to pick aside. You
- 1:26:36Speaker 7: don't want to make it look like even though you
- 1:26:38Speaker 7: know what's right or what's wrong?
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: What?
- 1:26:39Speaker 10: What?
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: What?
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: How do you approach it?
- 1:26:41Speaker 7: Do you leave it alone because it has nothing to
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: do with you, or do you try to at least
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: fix two family members that if this don't get fixed,
- 1:26:48Speaker 7: it's not gonna ever get fixed.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: They gonna You know, I.
- 1:26:51Speaker 7: Often had to mediate several family disputes, and it's a
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: cool thing to do. I would get involved because you
- 1:26:58Speaker 7: know something you usually what happens with these family disputes
- 1:27:03Speaker 7: is the both of the parties want to be heard
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: anybody listening, and you've got to get everybody to hear
- 1:27:10Speaker 7: what the other person is saying.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: And that's and that's what you have to do.
- 1:27:15Speaker 7: So I would get involved to try to get through
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: because there's three sides to every story. Is your side,
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: it is day side, and it's the truth. You can
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: only get to the truth by hearing both sides. But
- 1:27:28Speaker 7: when people argument, have you ever argued with somebody where
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: their whole intent.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: Is to be right?
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: That that's a frugal That's that's a frugal argument, man,
- 1:27:39Speaker 7: That's that's an argument when you're not gonna win, when
- 1:27:41Speaker 7: a person's whole goal is to be white. I have
- 1:27:44Speaker 7: this young kid that I mentor, and he messes up
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: quite often, right, and I try to straighten him out,
- 1:27:51Speaker 7: And the whole time I'm straightening him out, he telling
- 1:27:53Speaker 7: me the why he did it. Okay, man, I got
- 1:27:57Speaker 7: why you did it. And then in the why he
- 1:28:00Speaker 7: did it, it's always why he felt like he should
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: have did it that way. Okay, cool, I got that too.
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: But do you understand the consequences of your actions? What
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: you did has caused this to happen. Yeah, but I
- 1:28:14Speaker 7: was right when I said this. You know what, man,
- 1:28:17Speaker 7: My father in law said something that I've always remembered.
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: He said, just because you can do something, don't mean
- 1:28:23Speaker 7: you should. And do you know how many people may
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: do stuff because they had the right to do it,
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: but they shouldn't have did it. We live in a
- 1:28:31Speaker 7: country that's supposed to be freedom of speech. You're free
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: to say what you want to say, but should you?
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: Though all the time the answer is no. Well, I
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: got the right to say what I want to say.
- 1:28:42Speaker 7: You do, but that don't mean you should. You have
- 1:28:46Speaker 7: to practice some form of discretion. So when I see
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: two people arguing and I'm listening to him, I saw
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: some people arguing on the family feud said one day
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: we were all sitting around and these two people were
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: having this argument, and I was sitting there listening, you know,
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: and I said, hey, y'all, can I say something here?
- 1:29:03Speaker 7: I said, I don't think you all are hearing each other.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: What you said was this?
- 1:29:09Speaker 7: Now, when they said that, what did you hear? And
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: the person said something completely different from what they said?
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: I said, now tell me what you said. And then
- 1:29:17Speaker 7: the lady said what she said. And then I asked
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: the other guy, I said, now, what did you hear
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: her say?
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: This is what she said to me. I said, that's
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: not what she said.
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: So you got to get people to listen to what
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: the other person is saying and try to develop some
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: type of understanding, because if you don't, it'll just go
- 1:29:36Speaker 7: the wrong way. So to answer your question, if it's family,
- 1:29:40Speaker 7: I would try to mediate it because sometimes you need
- 1:29:43Speaker 7: an outside set of eyes and ears to be able
- 1:29:46Speaker 7: to see and hear what each other is saying and
- 1:29:49Speaker 7: present the case that way.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: But now here's the problem.
- 1:29:52Speaker 14: Though.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: We all know somebody who I don't care what you say,
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: they gonna stay right over there.
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: I know some people like that. I don't care what
- 1:30:04Speaker 7: you say to them, they gonna stay over there. I
- 1:30:07Speaker 7: don't know if it's because they just stubborn. I don't
- 1:30:11Speaker 7: know if because they just hell bent on being right.
- 1:30:15Speaker 7: And I think it's a combination of both things. I
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: have a family member right now that creates a narrative
- 1:30:23Speaker 7: to justify everything they do. And they sit there with
- 1:30:27Speaker 7: their partner and they both unify in this narrative to
- 1:30:32Speaker 7: justify their actions, and everybody else can clearly see it's wrong,
- 1:30:37Speaker 7: but they done justified it. Well, you can't win like that.
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: And then Bishop Browner, I tell you, man, that man
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: says something.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: He said, be careful of people who are victims in
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: circumstances that they created. And boy, that's a tough one
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: right there. And so I know a lot of those
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: people who are victims. All in circumstance. I had a
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: God tell me. He said, you ced me out your life.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: I said, hold up, young brother, do you not remember
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: telling me that you would never talk to me ever
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: again without the presence of an attorney. Do you remember
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: saying that to me. Now you don't turn around and
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: say I ced you out my life. You told me
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: you wouldn't talk to me without the presence of an attorney.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: So you created this situation.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: Now you're the victim, man, miss me, So mediate if
- 1:31:33Speaker 7: you can but recognize who you're talking too quickly, and
- 1:31:36Speaker 7: if you're talking to a person that ain't gonna train sway,
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: they stubborn or they gonna justify all they means, then
- 1:31:43Speaker 7: you're wasting your time.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Let it be Pray for him and move on. Those
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: are my closing remarks today.
- 1:31:49Speaker 7: If you didn't like those closing remarks, we would be
- 1:31:52Speaker 7: here willingly God's will tomorrow and you might like those.
- 1:31:56Speaker 7: Have a nice day, y'all talk to God today, he
- 1:31:58Speaker 7: would absolutely.
