- 0:00Speaker 1: I hope you had a fabulous Fourth of July with
- 0:02Speaker 1: you and your family celebrating America's birthday. And the White House,
- 0:07Speaker 1: I don't know how much celebrating they were doing because
- 0:09Speaker 1: they've got some serious problems. Now they have now been
- 0:12Speaker 1: busted lying to you about the president's medical attention. In fact,
- 0:19Speaker 1: he did see a doctor after the debate. That is
- 0:22Speaker 1: what we've been told after the White House lie. How
- 0:26Speaker 1: do we know this because Biden told the governors who
- 0:29Speaker 1: came and met with him that, in fact, he did
- 0:31Speaker 1: receive a medical check up. This now coming from Politico.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Biden tells governors this is their actual headline. He got
- 0:39Speaker 1: a medical a checkup. Two governors also expressed concerns over
- 0:42Speaker 1: whether the president could still carry their blue leaning state.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So this is all about saving themselves.
- 0:49Speaker 1: President Joe Biden on Wednesday evening told more than twenty
- 0:51Speaker 1: Democratic governors in a private meeting that he underwent a
- 0:54Speaker 1: medical checkup after last week's debate and it's fine that,
- 0:57Speaker 1: According to three people with knowledge of the discussion, During
- 1:00Speaker 1: an hour long meeting prompted by intensifying concerns about his
- 1:03Speaker 1: health and political viability, one governor asked Biden by his
- 1:07Speaker 1: physical condition. The President mentioned having had a check up
- 1:10Speaker 1: in recent days and serted that he remains in good health,
- 1:13Speaker 1: knocking on wood for effect. According to two people that
- 1:16Speaker 1: were there, yes, so that happened now. That statement, in
- 1:21Speaker 1: a hastily arranged White House meeting that saw nearly a
- 1:24Speaker 1: dozen governors travel to DC while others participated virtually, came
- 1:28Speaker 1: just hours after the White House Press Secretary Jean Pierre
- 1:32Speaker 1: sidestep direct questions from reporters who asked if he had
- 1:35Speaker 1: been examined since the debate, saying this, the President has
- 1:40Speaker 1: regular annual physicals, and we released it through a report,
- 1:45Speaker 1: a thorough report. We're going to continue to do that. Again,
- 1:49Speaker 1: that's not the question that was asked. Biden's remarks, according
- 1:53Speaker 1: to a person familiar with the president's schedule, was in
- 1:56Speaker 1: reference to a short check up by a White House
- 1:59Speaker 1: physician days following the debate due to quote, lingering symptoms
- 2:03Speaker 1: from his cold. The exam, that person at it was
- 2:06Speaker 1: brief and did not include any major tests. Now, Democrats
- 2:12Speaker 1: are coming forward now and they are saying it is
- 2:15Speaker 1: time for him to step down.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Again.
- 2:19Speaker 1: They're saying this Democratic representative Huffman said, quote we should
- 2:24Speaker 1: announce our presidential ticket after the Republican convention so we
- 2:28Speaker 1: know what we're running against, implying that Joe Biden is
- 2:32Speaker 1: absolutely not going to be their pick. CNN also says
- 2:37Speaker 1: this that Biden told Democratic governors he needs more sleep
- 2:42Speaker 1: and to stop scheduling events after eight o'clock at night.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So again the President being a complainer in chief when
- 2:49Speaker 1: meeting with the governors.
- 2:51Speaker 3: We have new details coming in this afternoon on President
- 2:53Speaker 3: Biden's ongoing fight for his political future. Sources tell CNN
- 2:57Speaker 3: and the President told Democratic governors during yesterday's White House
- 3:01Speaker 3: meeting that he needs more sleep and he plans to
- 3:04Speaker 3: stop scheduling events after eight pm. That meeting was an
- 3:07Speaker 3: attempt to reassure Democratic leaders that he could win reelection
- 3:11Speaker 3: and serve out another term. His campaign faces a critical
- 3:15Speaker 3: test in the next forty eight hours Tomorrow, President Biden
- 3:18Speaker 3: is that hit the campaign tr and then we'll see
- 3:20Speaker 3: him in his first televised interview since the debate today.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Now, this first interview that he's going to do has
- 3:27Speaker 1: now been changed to a prime time event with George
- 3:30Speaker 1: Stepanopolis at eight o'clock Eastern on Friday night.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It is not going to be live. What does that mean.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It means that they can protect the president with editing. Now,
- 3:42Speaker 1: let's talk about the money drawing up for the president
- 3:45Speaker 1: as well. Donald Trump's campaign raised three hundred and thirty
- 3:48Speaker 1: one million in this year's second quarter, and it smashes
- 3:53Speaker 1: what Biden has brought in and the money apparently is
- 3:57Speaker 1: completely drying up. Barbara Boxer slamming Democrats by the way,
- 4:01Speaker 1: calling for Biden to stepped down. They're on TV for
- 4:05Speaker 1: their five minutes of fame as it's clear that a
- 4:08Speaker 1: civil war has broken out within the Democratic Party.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Art Senator, you said, give Biden two weeks to fix
- 4:16Speaker 4: his ailing campaign. It has now been a full week
- 4:19Speaker 4: since the debate. We haven't even seen a TV interview
- 4:22Speaker 4: or press conference yet. That's not going to come until
- 4:24Speaker 4: tomorrow and next week, respectively. Is he moving too slow
- 4:28Speaker 4: on his reset?
- 4:30Speaker 5: No, I meant two weeks from now. The article you're
- 4:33Speaker 5: quoting was run today two weeks. I agree with Debbie Dingle.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I disagree with these members who are coming on TV
- 4:41Speaker 5: for their five minutes of fame and pushing out a
- 4:44Speaker 5: man who has been one of the greatest presidents since
- 4:47Speaker 5: FDR and by the way I say, because there are
- 4:51Speaker 5: two schools of thought. My school of thought is show
- 4:54Speaker 5: us the comeback. You've done it your whole life, mister president.
- 4:58Speaker 5: You've come back from personal losses, you've come from political losses.
- 5:02Speaker 5: And here's the thing about these members and folks who
- 5:04Speaker 5: are coming on your station and a lot of your
- 5:07Speaker 5: experts pushing this man out right now before he has
- 5:10Speaker 5: a chance.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Is this.
- 5:13Speaker 5: We know that Donald Trump is the truth thread here.
- 5:18Speaker 6: We know because he.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Talked thirty lies in ninety minutes. That's what he put
- 5:25Speaker 5: out there, thirty lies. He refused to accept the results
- 5:29Speaker 5: of the election. He's already going after Liz Cheney and
- 5:32Speaker 5: saying she's guilty of treason, which, by the way, the
- 5:36Speaker 5: penalty for that is murder.
- 5:39Speaker 6: It goes on and on.
- 5:40Speaker 5: He also said at the debate that Democrats would kill
- 5:44Speaker 5: babies after they're born. And everybody's focused on, you know,
- 5:50Speaker 5: Joe Biden. And last point, how many times did we
- 5:53Speaker 5: some Trump fall asleep at his own criminal trial where
- 5:58Speaker 5: he was found guilty of four counts and also liable
- 6:02Speaker 5: for sexual assault in another courtroom against Egen Carroll. So
- 6:06Speaker 5: please spare me. You're five minutes of fame. Give this
- 6:10Speaker 5: man a chance to pick himself up. He's done it
- 6:13Speaker 5: so many times.
- 6:15Speaker 6: Joe Woodie.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Now, I love this, by the way, because that's Barbara Boxer, right,
- 6:18Speaker 1: She's dug in for him. She's one of the old guards.
- 6:21Speaker 1: She's the one that's saying this. But Debbie Dingle said,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and I'm going to play this for you a little
- 6:25Speaker 1: bit later with my conversation I'm going to have with
- 6:27Speaker 1: Center Cruz about this. She said, Biden is a is
- 6:30Speaker 1: in a bubble wrap interview with Stepanopholis, and one interview
- 6:35Speaker 1: quote won't fix this. David Jolly said, the one person
- 6:39Speaker 1: Trump doesn't want to run against this Gavin Newsom. As
- 6:41Speaker 1: they're already moving on to who's going to replace him.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Over at MSNBC. They're acting like Joe Biden is gone.
- 6:47Speaker 7: On the other side of this equation, of course, is
- 6:50Speaker 7: the Trump campaign.
- 6:51Speaker 8: What scenarios do you think that they are preparing for
- 6:53Speaker 8: right now?
- 6:54Speaker 9: I look, they hope Joe Biden stays in because they
- 6:56Speaker 9: see him as weak, and then they want to run
- 6:59Speaker 9: against Kamala Harrer. But I think that they should be
- 7:02Speaker 9: very careful here because I do think there's an opportunity
- 7:05Speaker 9: for Joe Biden and the Democrats to have a very
- 7:08Speaker 9: unifying week. First of all, it's inevitable something has to break,
- 7:11Speaker 9: the fever has to break.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So either Joe.
- 7:13Speaker 9: Biden coalesces all the Democrats this week and says we're
- 7:16Speaker 9: going forward as a unified Democratic party and you are
- 7:20Speaker 9: sticking with me, or he makes another decision but also
- 7:23Speaker 9: creates a very unifying moment for national Democrats and frankly
- 7:26Speaker 9: for the nation as well, about a new chapter of
- 7:29Speaker 9: democratic leadership. Hollywood could write this script ally for the
- 7:33Speaker 9: next week, but look, who do they want to run
- 7:36Speaker 9: against it?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Look?
- 7:37Speaker 9: I would also say Joe Biden one tool he hasn't used,
- 7:40Speaker 9: the greatest tool he has is an address to the nation,
- 7:43Speaker 9: because this is not just a political question. We talk
- 7:45Speaker 9: about it as a political question for November, but this
- 7:48Speaker 9: is a question for right now. And if Joe Biden
- 7:50Speaker 9: can reassure the nation it begins to answer the questions
- 7:54Speaker 9: about November, they could decide whether or not to do that.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I mean, they are all over the place now.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I believe that there's one other aspect of this that
- 8:03Speaker 1: must be brought up, and that's this. I believe we're
- 8:06Speaker 1: witnessing right now, one of the biggest political cover ups
- 8:11Speaker 1: in history of this country. That all these people around
- 8:15Speaker 1: the president have been covering for an incapacitated president of
- 8:18Speaker 1: the United States of America. This is, by the way,
- 8:21Speaker 1: why we have the twenty fifth Amendment. This is why
- 8:23Speaker 1: you have a cabinet. Okay, And I'm sorry. It's a
- 8:29Speaker 1: moment in history that I think we're going to look
- 8:31Speaker 1: back on and we're going to realize that that everyone
- 8:35Speaker 1: around the president was covering for him, was lying for him,
- 8:41Speaker 1: was protecting him, and insulating him and bubble wrapping him.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Is that, one Democrat said a moment ago, and so
- 8:49Speaker 1: I look at this. This is a moment that the
- 8:53Speaker 1: Democratic Party created. Now, even NBC's Allen said this on
- 8:58Speaker 1: TV about the moment we're in now.
- 9:00Speaker 10: Listen, Jonathan starting with you on this. Now that we're
- 9:04Speaker 10: seeing he's getting back on the road, he is going
- 9:06Speaker 10: to be in Wisconsin, business as usual. Certainly this week
- 9:10Speaker 10: has not been business as usual.
- 9:14Speaker 11: Yeah, this has been the worst week in a presidential
- 9:16Speaker 11: campaign that I can remember in my lifetime. Not only
- 9:19Speaker 11: did he have the debate to bacle, but the effort
- 9:22Speaker 11: to clean it up has been miserable. At best you
- 9:25Speaker 11: hear the arguments for why he didn't do well at
- 9:29Speaker 11: the debate, that he had a cold, that he was
- 9:31Speaker 11: traveling in Europe, he'd been back in the United States
- 9:33Speaker 11: for twelve days. I don't think any American thinks that
- 9:36Speaker 11: they want a president that is home from twelve for
- 9:39Speaker 11: twelve days from foreign trip and still not quite himself
- 9:43Speaker 11: from the jet lag. So the White House messaging has
- 9:47Speaker 11: been difficult. In the deed yesterday, as you pointed out,
- 9:51Speaker 11: at one moment, Korean John Pierre said he hadn't been
- 9:53Speaker 11: checked out for it by a doctor, than Biden said
- 9:55Speaker 11: he had been checked out by a doctor. One of
- 9:57Speaker 11: those things is true, one of them is not. Right now,
- 10:00Speaker 11: his White House has a credibility problem. He has a
- 10:02Speaker 11: credibility problem, and I need to make sure that whatever
- 10:05Speaker 11: they're saying is actually true and transparent. He is going
- 10:09Speaker 11: to try over the course of the next several days
- 10:12Speaker 11: to show a different version of himself than people have
- 10:14Speaker 11: been seeing over the last week, but he is in
- 10:17Speaker 11: making a mistake. This is a crisis moment for the
- 10:20Speaker 11: president and his party.
- 10:22Speaker 1: They are ready to be done with him, They're ready
- 10:24Speaker 1: to move on to Kamala. I think she's probably the
- 10:27Speaker 1: front runner right now, even though the polls say she
- 10:29Speaker 1: could still be beat. The only person the polling that
- 10:31Speaker 1: shows they would take a lead against Donald Trump would
- 10:34Speaker 1: be a name that I've said here several times, Michelle Obama.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I want to get into my conversation about what is
- 10:42Speaker 1: next when it comes to Biden campaign and what Democrats
- 10:45Speaker 1: are doing. And we're going to break all this down
- 10:48Speaker 1: with Senator Ted Cruz. We were doing our podcast Verdict.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Take a listen. I mentioned a moment ago that this
- 10:54Speaker 1: White House is floundering on a level I didn't even
- 10:58Speaker 1: know was imaginable in their re responds to this debate.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And every time you think they can't get any worse,
- 11:04Speaker 1: they then do something that is even more incompetent. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: the response I want to play for you center this.
- 11:10Speaker 1: This is the White House Press secretary floating the idea
- 11:13Speaker 1: that the reason why Joe Biden had a bad night
- 11:15Speaker 1: the other night is that he was suffering from jet
- 11:19Speaker 1: lag almost two weeks, fourteen days after traveling. Here is
- 11:25Speaker 1: the White House Press secretary trying to sell this to
- 11:27Speaker 1: the American people.
- 11:29Speaker 12: Okay, thank you.
- 11:31Speaker 13: There's no question that international travel can be rigorous. I
- 11:33Speaker 13: think the confusion is that he's still suffering from the
- 11:36Speaker 13: effects of that nearly two weeks later. So can you
- 11:40Speaker 13: articulate a little bit about like, do you guys usually
- 11:43Speaker 13: have accommodations for him after he does a trip that
- 11:46Speaker 13: he's going to have jet lag for that long a
- 11:49Speaker 13: period of time.
- 11:50Speaker 6: So can you can you when you say two weeks later,
- 11:52Speaker 6: what do you mean the debate?
- 11:53Speaker 13: He arrives back in the United States twelve or thirteen
- 11:56Speaker 13: days before the debate, So his explanation for a quar
- 11:59Speaker 13: debate for form jetlag.
- 12:01Speaker 12: So what I want to say is it's the jet lag.
- 12:04Speaker 6: And also the cold.
- 12:06Speaker 12: Right. It is the two things, and that occurred, and
- 12:11Speaker 12: you all heard it in his voice when he did
- 12:13Speaker 12: the debate, right, And it is not even something that
- 12:16Speaker 12: we shared ahead of time.
- 12:17Speaker 6: You heard it in his voice and we confirmed it.
- 12:20Speaker 12: And I think that's important to note as well, like
- 12:22Speaker 12: it is the jet lag and the cold. But I
- 12:25Speaker 12: want to be really I want to be really clear here.
- 12:27Speaker 12: This is not an excuse, right, this is not an excuse.
- 12:30Speaker 12: You all asked for an explanation, and we get we're
- 12:32Speaker 12: giving it an explanation.
- 12:33Speaker 6: It is not an excuse.
- 12:35Speaker 12: I don't want that to be the leading piece of
- 12:38Speaker 12: this asked for the only reason we're sharing this because
- 12:41Speaker 12: it was asked of me here and the President certainly
- 12:43Speaker 12: wanted to give an explanation himself, and that's what he
- 12:46Speaker 12: did yesterday. We want to We understand that it wasn't
- 12:50Speaker 12: his best night.
- 12:51Speaker 6: It wasn't a great debate.
- 12:53Speaker 12: We understand that, and we understand what supporters saw, what
- 12:57Speaker 12: the American people saw, and what you all saw, and
- 12:59Speaker 12: so we wanted to give an explanation. So I don't
- 13:02Speaker 12: want to get into this or are you giving this
- 13:05Speaker 12: excuse that excuse, We're giving.
- 13:07Speaker 6: You what our explanation was.
- 13:09Speaker 12: We want to continue to make sure that we do
- 13:13Speaker 12: everything that we can to deliver for the American people.
- 13:16Speaker 6: That's what we're going to continue to.
- 13:17Speaker 14: Also want it.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I mean, Senator, you hear this. It's no excuse.
- 13:21Speaker 1: We're just you ask So we're just telling you, fourteen
- 13:23Speaker 1: days after international travel, the president was suffering from jetwag.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So there's the story.
- 13:30Speaker 12: You know.
- 13:30Speaker 15: I got to say every time I hear Kaarin John Pierre,
- 13:33Speaker 15: I think she is the opposite of William Jefferson Clinton.
- 13:37Speaker 15: William Jefferson Clinton, you'll recall was referred to as an
- 13:41Speaker 15: unusually good liar, that he could lie and it was believable,
- 13:45Speaker 15: and he'd bite his lip and he'd you know, pointed,
- 13:48Speaker 15: push his thumb together, and you just you believed he
- 13:51Speaker 15: felt your pain. He could lie better than anyone. I
- 13:55Speaker 15: think Karee John Pierre is an unusually bad liar. Like
- 14:00Speaker 15: when she does it, it's laughably false. One of the
- 14:04Speaker 15: things if you're going to be in a job as
- 14:06Speaker 15: a media hack and trying to spin people, typically you
- 14:10Speaker 15: learn not to tell just brazen lies that are absurd.
- 14:14Speaker 15: When Kareem John Pierre stood in the White House press
- 14:17Speaker 15: briefing room and said, you know, people are not just
- 14:20Speaker 15: coming across the border. It's not happening. They're not walking
- 14:22Speaker 15: across the border. It doesn't happen. That was such a
- 14:26Speaker 15: wild lie. Literally every reporter could pull up on their
- 14:28Speaker 15: phone videos of it happening while she was talking. That's
- 14:32Speaker 15: a bad lie here. This jetlag thing is a really
- 14:36Speaker 15: bad lie. Like anyone who's actually flown internationally. Look, jetlag
- 14:41Speaker 15: is a si thing. It's a reasonable thing. You feel
- 14:44Speaker 15: it a day maybe two when you fly from one
- 14:48Speaker 15: place to the other. You know, he was in Europe.
- 14:49Speaker 15: He was there for Normandy. I was there for Normandy.
- 14:53Speaker 15: I got to say the idea that I'd be complaining
- 14:55Speaker 15: now you know, I've still got jetlag because several weeks
- 14:57Speaker 15: ago I was in Europe. That's just obviously stupid. And
- 15:03Speaker 15: they don't want the explanation to be the explanation that
- 15:06Speaker 15: every person with eyeballs and common sense saw, which is
- 15:09Speaker 15: this is an old man who's suffering from dementia. That's
- 15:13Speaker 15: the answer. And so well, you know he wasn't a
- 15:15Speaker 15: plane a few weeks earlier. Let's call it jetlag. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 15: maybe people out there are dumb enough to believe that.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Well, and they went on TV like a full court
- 15:23Speaker 1: press to try to sell this at the White House.
- 15:26Speaker 1: This was another one of their interviews outside of Jean Pierre,
- 15:29Speaker 1: where they're like, all right, guys, everybody got on TV
- 15:31Speaker 1: and sell that the President is jet lagged.
- 15:33Speaker 7: Apparently, the President apologized to everyone in the room saying,
- 15:37Speaker 7: this is not an excuse, but it is an explanation,
- 15:40Speaker 7: and he blamed the extensive foreign travel that he did
- 15:43Speaker 7: and the lead up to the CNN debate for his
- 15:46Speaker 7: poor performance. Just a reminder for everyone, he did go
- 15:49Speaker 7: to France for the D Day anniversary, and then he
- 15:51Speaker 7: turned right back around and went to Italy for the
- 15:53Speaker 7: G seven summit, and he told the room, I didn't
- 15:56Speaker 7: listen to my staff, so the suggestion there being his
- 15:59Speaker 7: staff did not think this was a good idea. And
- 16:01Speaker 7: then he apparently said, I almost fell asleep on stage.
- 16:06Speaker 7: I just want to unpack this new explanation for a second,
- 16:09Speaker 7: as the explanation for why his debate performance was so bad.
- 16:13Speaker 7: I find it a little bit puzzling, and frankly, I'm
- 16:16Speaker 7: not sure that a lot of people are going to
- 16:17Speaker 7: find this reassuring. If anything, some folks might hear this
- 16:21Speaker 7: and be even more concerned. Yes, there were two foreign
- 16:25Speaker 7: trips in the lead up to the June twenty seventh
- 16:28Speaker 7: CNN debate, but he returned from Italy on June fifteenth.
- 16:31Speaker 7: The debate again was on June twenty seven, so we're
- 16:34Speaker 7: talking about roughly twelve days in between when he was
- 16:37Speaker 7: back in the States. And remember a part of those
- 16:40Speaker 7: twelve days, about a full week, he actually spent with
- 16:43Speaker 7: his advisors at Camp David for the sole purpose of
- 16:46Speaker 7: really focusing on debate preps. So why is the president
- 16:50Speaker 7: falling asleep on the debate stage at the hours of
- 16:53Speaker 7: nine pm.
- 16:54Speaker 6: To ten thirty.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I can't believe by the way that CNN saying that
- 16:59Speaker 1: they have all turned on him, like they have just
- 17:01Speaker 1: completely turned on him. With Mjlee, they're saying, I find
- 17:03Speaker 1: it a little bit puzzling that this guy's at Camp
- 17:07Speaker 1: David for a whole week and you've done debate prep.
- 17:09Speaker 1: So let's pull back the curtain on that. When you've
- 17:11Speaker 1: done your most vigorous debate prep, Senator, and I've been
- 17:14Speaker 1: blessed to be in several different debate preps for different
- 17:17Speaker 1: major races, it doesn't last twelve hours a day now,
- 17:20Speaker 1: the ones I've done certainly not for seven days straight.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's usually two or three hours of intense debate prep
- 17:25Speaker 1: and then you take a legit break.
- 17:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 15: Look, and I've never done a week of debate prep.
- 17:30Speaker 15: Typically what I do debate prep, it is one to
- 17:31Speaker 15: two days. Is what's involved.
- 17:34Speaker 12: You know.
- 17:34Speaker 15: The irony of the of their jet lag explanation is
- 17:37Speaker 15: the fact that we know he spent a week at
- 17:39Speaker 15: Camp David where the only thing on the plate was
- 17:42Speaker 15: getting ready for debate prep, and I am certain he
- 17:46Speaker 15: slept a lot of hours that week and listen he should.
- 17:50Speaker 15: One of the things I do for debate prep. You know,
- 17:52Speaker 15: you know there's studies that have been done. This is
- 17:54Speaker 15: something when I was arguing cases at the Supreme Court,
- 17:57Speaker 15: I looked at there were medical studies that are done
- 18:00Speaker 15: that show the more sleep you get, the faster your
- 18:05Speaker 15: brain thinks, the faster your neurons fire. Before a Supreme
- 18:09Speaker 15: Court argument, I used to the night before try to
- 18:13Speaker 15: get nine to ten hours sleep, which is a lot
- 18:15Speaker 15: more sleep. I typically get six to seven hours sleep
- 18:18Speaker 15: a night before a Supreme Court argument, I would try
- 18:22Speaker 15: to get nine to ten hours sleep a night and
- 18:24Speaker 15: I'd do that both the night before the argument, and
- 18:27Speaker 15: I'd do that two nights before the argument the reason
- 18:30Speaker 15: two nights before the argument. Years ago in college, I
- 18:34Speaker 15: used to teach at Princeton Review the test prep class
- 18:39Speaker 15: that helped students. I taught the SAT and I taught
- 18:41Speaker 15: the l SAT. And when I was teaching at Princeton Review,
- 18:45Speaker 15: we would teach teach students to do the same thing,
- 18:47Speaker 15: get a ton of sleep the night before your exam,
- 18:50Speaker 15: and get a ton of sleep two nights before your exam.
- 18:53Speaker 15: Because there's scientific studies that show the sleep you get
- 18:57Speaker 15: two nights before an event affects your brain speed. And
- 19:00Speaker 15: what I found in Supreme Court arguments is that if
- 19:03Speaker 15: I had two nights of supercharging sleep, nine to ten
- 19:07Speaker 15: hours of sleep, two nights in a row, that when
- 19:09Speaker 15: I'd stand up there for the argument at the podium,
- 19:13Speaker 15: my brain was a half second faster, a half second
- 19:16Speaker 15: quicker to respond to a question, to think about a
- 19:18Speaker 15: line of argument, to anticipate where the other side was going,
- 19:22Speaker 15: to anticipate where a justice was going. When I'd prepare
- 19:25Speaker 15: for political debates, I do the same thing. I try
- 19:27Speaker 15: to have two nights of nine to ten hours sleep
- 19:31Speaker 15: the two nights before, and it makes a real difference.
- 19:33Speaker 15: Your brain is fast and quick. Biden had an entire
- 19:37Speaker 15: week where he could sleep. He could have slept twelve
- 19:40Speaker 15: hours a day every day for a week. And so
- 19:42Speaker 15: the idea that they're saying, well, yeah, but two weeks earlier,
- 19:45Speaker 15: he was on a plane, So it's jet lag. Nobody
- 19:49Speaker 15: who's ever flown an airplane believes that.
- 19:52Speaker 1: There's also this big interview that's about to take place,
- 19:54Speaker 1: and it's become actually even bigger since when you and
- 19:58Speaker 1: I mentioned it, there is George Stepanopolis and I think
- 20:01Speaker 1: we should remind people who he is. He is a
- 20:04Speaker 1: hardcore lefty that acts like he's now some sort of journalist,
- 20:07Speaker 1: even though he was best known for defending Bill Clinton
- 20:10Speaker 1: and giving Bill Clinton some of the best spin lines
- 20:12Speaker 1: in history.
- 20:13Speaker 2: It's the friendliest person.
- 20:14Speaker 15: Look, he was basically Kareem John John Pierre for Bill Clinton. Yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 15: he was a press staffer. He was a comm staffer.
- 20:21Speaker 15: He was in the White House. He was on the
- 20:22Speaker 15: Clinton White House staff. I think his title is communications director,
- 20:26Speaker 15: So he wasn't actually the press secretary, but he was
- 20:28Speaker 15: the press flack. He was the person. He was the Jensaki.
- 20:31Speaker 15: He was the one who was in charge of communications
- 20:34Speaker 15: for Bill Clinton for years. He was very close to
- 20:37Speaker 15: Bill Clinton, and then he jumped over. As many dem
- 20:41Speaker 15: communication hacks do, they leave that role and they jump
- 20:44Speaker 15: over and they become like Jensaki, they get their own show. Well,
- 20:48Speaker 15: George Stephanopoulos went from being the official spokesperson for the
- 20:52Speaker 15: Democratic president to being at abs ABC acting as effectively
- 20:58Speaker 15: the official spokesperson for the Democrat press.
- 21:01Speaker 1: And he's the guy that's going to get this interview.
- 21:03Speaker 1: We now have word that this they've decided to change
- 21:07Speaker 1: this interview to a quote prime time special on Friday
- 21:13Speaker 1: night to save in essence. I think his presidency and
- 21:17Speaker 1: Democrats aren't even buying that. MSNBC and one of the
- 21:21Speaker 1: hardcore lefties out there, Debbie Dingle, she said this on
- 21:25Speaker 1: MSNBC on July fourth.
- 21:28Speaker 8: They've been after Joe Biden all week. So he's got
- 21:32Speaker 8: one thing to do, which is to get up and
- 21:34Speaker 8: go out to prove to people that he can do
- 21:36Speaker 8: the job. We'll do the job, and has the stamina.
- 21:39Speaker 8: Took too long to make some of the phone calls.
- 21:40Speaker 6: He shut up.
- 21:41Speaker 8: I think he's in a bubble wrap. I'm inn of
- 21:43Speaker 8: the senior's staff, and I think he's starting to do
- 21:47Speaker 8: what he has to do.
- 21:48Speaker 2: One interview tomorrow, he's not going.
- 21:50Speaker 16: To fix this.
- 21:51Speaker 1: One interview tomorrow is quote not going to fix this.
- 21:55Speaker 1: This is one of the most extreme lefties on MSNBC
- 21:58Speaker 1: saying that.
- 22:00Speaker 15: Well, and listen. One of the most revealing things that
- 22:02Speaker 15: ABC interview is taped. It's not live. If they were
- 22:07Speaker 15: real journalists. You know what ABC should do. You know
- 22:09Speaker 15: what George Stephanopholis should insist on doing. The debate was live.
- 22:13Speaker 15: Let's have this interview be live. The American people need
- 22:16Speaker 15: to see how you answer real time, which means we ABC,
- 22:20Speaker 15: We're not going to edit out when you stare blankly
- 22:22Speaker 15: out at the wall and don't know what I say.
- 22:24Speaker 15: We're not going to edit out when you stumble. The
- 22:26Speaker 15: fact that it is taped means that George Stefanopolis can
- 22:30Speaker 15: go in and say, okay, oh, this exchange looked really
- 22:32Speaker 15: bad for Joe Biden. Let's cut that out.
- 22:34Speaker 12: Hmm.
- 22:35Speaker 15: Okay, he's staring off at the ceiling and doesn't know
- 22:38Speaker 15: what's going on. Let's definitely not air that. And let's
- 22:41Speaker 15: find snippets where he seems kjin and let's piece them together. Now,
- 22:46Speaker 15: if George Stephanopolis was wearing his hat as Democrat Operative
- 22:51Speaker 15: putting together a TV campaign for Biden, that would be
- 22:55Speaker 15: a reasonable thing to do. But he's at least pretending
- 22:58Speaker 15: to be a journalist. The SEA is pretending to be
- 23:01Speaker 15: an actual news organization, and so anyone who actually cares
- 23:06Speaker 15: about journalism or news should insist the thing be live.
- 23:09Speaker 15: Let the American people see how he acts in real time.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Let's take a step back from this, and I want
- 23:15Speaker 1: to ask you another question. You and I actually haven't
- 23:17Speaker 1: even talked about this yet so I'm I'm genuinely intrigued
- 23:21Speaker 1: to know what you think, and that is, are we
- 23:24Speaker 1: going to look back weeks, months, years from now, and
- 23:29Speaker 1: are we going to look at this moment in history
- 23:31Speaker 1: and say, was this the biggest political cover up in history?
- 23:37Speaker 1: That we had an incapacitated president, that the American people
- 23:42Speaker 1: were sheltered from, that the White House was covering for
- 23:46Speaker 1: and lying for, that the media was covering for and
- 23:49Speaker 1: lying for. I go back to November, Okay, not that
- 23:52Speaker 1: long ago. White House pres seretory Jean Pierre said this
- 23:55Speaker 1: to the American people.
- 23:57Speaker 12: I would put the President's DaMina Present's wisdom ability to
- 24:01Speaker 12: get this done on behalf of the American people against anyone,
- 24:07Speaker 12: anyone on any.
- 24:08Speaker 6: Day of the week.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I mean that was that was November, Senator, And I
- 24:12Speaker 1: think this is one of the biggest.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Progress that she's a really bad witness.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yeah, she is a really bad liar, But I mean
- 24:18Speaker 1: this is this is one of the biggest political cover
- 24:20Speaker 1: ups I've ever witnessed.
- 24:22Speaker 15: You know, yes, and no, of course it's a cover up.
- 24:26Speaker 15: Of course everyone is complicit in. And of course the
- 24:28Speaker 15: Democrats all know and they're lying. Of Course, the media
- 24:31Speaker 15: all know and they're lying. But at the same time,
- 24:34Speaker 15: it's not a cover up anyone whose head is not
- 24:37Speaker 15: plunged into the sand. You knew before the debate last
- 24:41Speaker 15: week that Joe Biden was mentally incapacitated. You knew that
- 24:44Speaker 15: it was obvious. Anyone who's ever had an elderly relative,
- 24:50Speaker 15: a loved one, dealing with dementia, dealing with Alzheimer's, You've
- 24:53Speaker 15: seen that distant look, that shuffle, that look of confusion.
- 24:57Speaker 15: We see that every week. It's obvious. Look, We've never
- 25:00Speaker 15: seen a president do what Joe Biden does, which is
- 25:02Speaker 15: not talked to anyone in the Senate. In three and
- 25:06Speaker 15: a half years, I've had no conversations with Joe Biden.
- 25:09Speaker 15: He has had no conversations with virtually any Republican senator.
- 25:13Speaker 15: We sit around at lunch and talk about how weird
- 25:15Speaker 15: that is, because a major part of the job being
- 25:19Speaker 15: in the Senate is dealing with the president, working with
- 25:21Speaker 15: the president. You know, just over a month ago, I
- 25:27Speaker 15: passed the FA Reauthorization Bill. That is a huge bill,
- 25:31Speaker 15: one hundred and ten billion dollars investment in infrastructure, in
- 25:36Speaker 15: safety for aviation, enhancing safety for the flying public, hiring
- 25:41Speaker 15: new air traffic controllers to keep people safe when they fly,
- 25:45Speaker 15: investing billions in airports, putting collision detection technology on runways
- 25:50Speaker 15: to keep people safe, also expanding competition. Just Texas alone,
- 25:55Speaker 15: hundreds of thousands of jobs depend upon aviation. We have
- 25:59Speaker 15: made major airlines based in Texas. Millions of jobs depend
- 26:04Speaker 15: indirectly on aviation. It was a huge bipartisan victory. I
- 26:08Speaker 15: was the lead author along with Maria Cantwell. We passed it.
- 26:12Speaker 15: We passed it on the floor of the Senate eighty
- 26:14Speaker 15: eight to Ford. Includes within it, finally, finally, finally, a
- 26:18Speaker 15: direct flight from San Antonio to Reagan Washington National Airport,
- 26:23Speaker 15: something San Antonio that entire community has been fighting for
- 26:26Speaker 15: for twenty years. That was a victory I wrote into law,
- 26:30Speaker 15: and we want it now. You know what would normally
- 26:33Speaker 15: happen when you pass major bipartisan legislation.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I'm assuming you'd say the President might get in contact with.
- 26:39Speaker 15: You, you'd have a signing ceremony. In a typical normal
- 26:44Speaker 15: functioning administration when there's big bipartisan legislation, the next step
- 26:50Speaker 15: is the White House contacts you and says we're going
- 26:52Speaker 15: to have a signing ceremony, the signing ceremony, you go,
- 26:55Speaker 15: both the Democrats and Republicans who are the authors of
- 26:58Speaker 15: the bill, go and the president and it signs the
- 27:00Speaker 15: bill into law in the Oval office, and there are
- 27:03Speaker 15: people there'd be in this instance, you would have people
- 27:05Speaker 15: from the airlines there. You'd have people from airports there,
- 27:09Speaker 15: You'd have the pilots unions there, you'd have the flight
- 27:11Speaker 15: attendance unions there, you'd have everyone impacted by the bill
- 27:15Speaker 15: there in the Oval office. I've been to a lot
- 27:17Speaker 15: of signing ceremonies. It's pretty typical. You know what the
- 27:20Speaker 15: Biden White House said.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Well, I wouldn't even be surprised. They didn't even know
- 27:23Speaker 2: you guys were doing it.
- 27:25Speaker 15: Oh no, no, they knew. They knew. And Biden signed the
- 27:27Speaker 15: bill when it came over. He signed it into law.
- 27:31Speaker 15: But there was no ceremony. And the reason there's no
- 27:33Speaker 15: ceremony they cannot have him interact with other people because
- 27:38Speaker 15: it is blazingly obvious this man is incapacitated. That has
- 27:43Speaker 15: been the way the administration is operated from day one.
- 27:46Speaker 15: They don't do signing ceremonies like other administrations. They hide
- 27:50Speaker 15: him and so yes, it's a cover up. But at
- 27:54Speaker 15: another level, no, it's not really a cover up because
- 27:57Speaker 15: everybody knows the thing that is stuff cutting ben. On
- 28:01Speaker 15: the Democrat side of the aisle, nobody cares. I have
- 28:05Speaker 15: yet to speak to a single Democrat senator or a
- 28:08Speaker 15: single Democrat House member who's expressed genuine concern that the
- 28:13Speaker 15: commander in chief does not know what type of day
- 28:16Speaker 15: it is, that the commander in chief can't find his
- 28:20Speaker 15: way out of a locked box. I haven't heard any
- 28:24Speaker 15: concern from a single Democrat that America is much less
- 28:29Speaker 15: safe because our commander in chief is mister Magoo. He
- 28:33Speaker 15: is a confused individual with serious disabilities who is not
- 28:41Speaker 15: able to handle a difficult situation. Look when you see
- 28:44Speaker 15: the g eight leaders gather together and Joe Biden starts
- 28:48Speaker 15: wandering off and the Italian Prime Minister has to go
- 28:52Speaker 15: and grab his hand and lead him back. That's not good.
- 28:56Speaker 15: It's not good for the American president to be treated
- 28:59Speaker 15: as the elderly uncle everyone needs to take care of
- 29:03Speaker 15: and cut his food for and make sure they're no
- 29:05Speaker 15: big pieces so that he can we can steer the
- 29:09Speaker 15: airplane into the mouth. That is horrible for America and
- 29:13Speaker 15: frustratingly ben No Democrat cares. The only reason anyone's discussing
- 29:17Speaker 15: this now is suddenly on the debate, the American people
- 29:21Speaker 15: saw it, and the Democrats are afraid they might lose.
- 29:24Speaker 15: If they didn't think they were gonna lose, every Democrat
- 29:26Speaker 15: would say, stick with him forever, We're great, doesn't matter
- 29:30Speaker 15: if the president is competent or not.
- 29:33Speaker 1: One Democrat that went on TV, I guess he's like
- 29:36Speaker 1: the sacrificial lamb is representative Democratic Representative Dan Goldman. He
- 29:42Speaker 1: said this about the president trying to reassure Americans he's
- 29:45Speaker 1: really fine, there's no cognitive decline.
- 29:47Speaker 14: And the people who are with him every day have
- 29:50Speaker 14: indicated as well that it was an aberration, that it
- 29:53Speaker 14: is an anomaly, and if that is the case, then
- 29:57Speaker 14: we will see that, and we will see that over
- 29:59Speaker 14: the next week, and he will restore our faith and
- 30:02Speaker 14: confidence in his fitness.
- 30:04Speaker 16: And then everything else between the two of them cuts
- 30:07Speaker 16: in favor of Joe Biden. So people are right to
- 30:10Speaker 16: have some concerns after that performance. And I don't think
- 30:13Speaker 16: there's any excuse that Joe Biden offered. I think he
- 30:17Speaker 16: was trying to explain how he had such a poor performance,
- 30:23Speaker 16: But he's accepted it, he's owned it, he's acknowledged it
- 30:26Speaker 16: as we all have. And what we need to see
- 30:29Speaker 16: from him is that vibrant and whip smart president that
- 30:33Speaker 16: we have had for the last three and a half years.
- 30:36Speaker 1: And the people, I mean, you listen to him, and
- 30:38Speaker 1: then you go to the facts. Biden's post debate checkup
- 30:42Speaker 1: actually contradicts what the White House said. They have now
- 30:47Speaker 1: confirmed that, and President Biden confirmed And again I'm quoting
- 30:52Speaker 1: reports coming out of the White House to the Democratic governors.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Remember they had this nine to one to one, you know,
- 30:56Speaker 1: all hands on deck meeting with Democratic governors to try
- 30:59Speaker 1: to reassure them that he had a medical checkup following
- 31:02Speaker 1: the president of debate, despite earlier statements from the White
- 31:05Speaker 1: House pres secretary on multiple occasions that he had not
- 31:08Speaker 1: received any medical exam since February.
- 31:10Speaker 2: We played some of that in the last show.
- 31:12Speaker 1: The White House later clarified that Biden was seen by
- 31:15Speaker 1: a doctor for a brief quote brief checkup due to
- 31:19Speaker 1: the lingering symptoms from a cold, which did not include
- 31:22Speaker 1: any major tests. So even when they lie to you,
- 31:26Speaker 1: they still can't. They're now lying to either the governors
- 31:29Speaker 1: or the American people, or they're just lying about all
- 31:31Speaker 1: of it.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Your thoughts.
- 31:33Speaker 15: Yeah, look, the cold is nonsense, the jet lag is nonsense.
- 31:36Speaker 15: Everyone knows that the issue is that he's too old
- 31:40Speaker 15: and he's suffering from dementia. That that is blazingly true.
- 31:44Speaker 15: They're trying to distract from this. Look, I'll give you
- 31:47Speaker 15: a sense of how bad it is. Even the Praetorian Guard,
- 31:51Speaker 15: even the most zealous defenders of Joe Biden, the Democrats,
- 31:55Speaker 15: and by that I mean the New York Times, even
- 31:58Speaker 15: there turning on her. On Wednesday of this week, The
- 32:02Speaker 15: New York Times wrote a story, the headline of which
- 32:04Speaker 15: is Biden tells allies he knows he has only days
- 32:08Speaker 15: to salvage candidacy. Here's what The New York Times wrote.
- 32:12Speaker 15: By the way, this is not an editorial, This is
- 32:13Speaker 15: a news story. President Joe Biden has told key allies
- 32:17Speaker 15: that he knows the coming days are crucial and understands
- 32:19Speaker 15: that he may not be able to salvage his candidacy
- 32:22Speaker 15: if he cannot convince voters that he is up to
- 32:24Speaker 15: the job. After a disastrous debate performance last week. According
- 32:28Speaker 15: to two allies who have spoken with him, Biden has
- 32:31Speaker 15: emphasized that he is still deeply committed to fight for
- 32:33Speaker 15: his reelection, but understands that his viability as a candidate
- 32:38Speaker 15: is on the line. The President sought to project confidence
- 32:42Speaker 15: Wednesday in a call with campaign staff, even as White
- 32:45Speaker 15: House officials were trying to calm nerves inside the ranks
- 32:49Speaker 15: of the Biden administration. Quote, no one's pushing me out,
- 32:53Speaker 15: Biden said in the call, I'm not leaving. Vice President
- 32:56Speaker 15: Kamala Harris was also on the line. Quote, we will
- 32:59Speaker 15: not back down. We will follow our president's lead. She said.
- 33:02Speaker 15: We will fight and we will win. Rah rah rah. Still,
- 33:06Speaker 15: Biden allies said the President had privately acknowledged that his
- 33:10Speaker 15: next few appearances heading into the July fourth holiday weekend
- 33:14Speaker 15: must go well, particularly in an interview scheduled for Friday
- 33:17Speaker 15: with George Stephanopolos of ABC News and campaign stops in
- 33:21Speaker 15: Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Quote, he knows that if he has
- 33:25Speaker 15: two more events like that, we're in a different place
- 33:28Speaker 15: by the end of the weekend, said one of the allies,
- 33:30Speaker 15: referring to Biden's halting and unfocused performance on the debate.
- 33:34Speaker 15: That person who talked to the President in the past
- 33:36Speaker 15: twenty four hours spoke on the condition of anonymity to
- 33:39Speaker 15: discuss a sensitive situation. The accounts of his conversations with
- 33:44Speaker 15: allies are the first indication to become public that the
- 33:48Speaker 15: president is seriously considering whether he can recover after a
- 33:53Speaker 15: devastating performance on the debate stage in Atlanta last Thursday.
- 33:57Speaker 15: A new poll from The New York Times in Siena
- 33:59Speaker 15: College show the former president Donald Trump now leads Biden
- 34:03Speaker 15: forty nine to forty three percent among likely voters nationally,
- 34:07Speaker 15: a three point swing towards the Republican from just a
- 34:11Speaker 15: week earlier before the debate. This is they're terrified. And
- 34:16Speaker 15: note they're terrified about one thing. They think Biden's going
- 34:21Speaker 15: to lose. If they thought a mentally incompetent person was
- 34:26Speaker 15: going to win, they'd be fine. But they're terrified that
- 34:29Speaker 15: there are at least some people who say, gosh, maybe
- 34:32Speaker 15: the commander in chief should should be aware of what's
- 34:36Speaker 15: going on around it.
- 34:39Speaker 2: So let me ask you this.
- 34:41Speaker 1: In the poll numbers that you just mentioned also connect
- 34:44Speaker 1: to some other polls that have come out, and that
- 34:47Speaker 1: is they're pulling every name against Donald Trump. There is
- 34:51Speaker 1: only one name right now that in the polling shows
- 34:55Speaker 1: that it could that they could quote beat Donald Trump.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That is the that you gave nine months ago that
- 35:03Speaker 1: we've been talking about ever since. In Michelle Obama, there
- 35:06Speaker 1: have been pretty queer messages coming from her camp. She's
- 35:10Speaker 1: not interested. And then the next person that everyone now
- 35:14Speaker 1: seems to be thinking is probably the one that would
- 35:16Speaker 1: replace them is Kamala Harris. And that's just from the
- 35:21Speaker 1: money aspect of things. She's the one that can use
- 35:23Speaker 1: the money they've raised. She's the one that's already set
- 35:26Speaker 1: up to just keep walking forward. The same team would
- 35:28Speaker 1: be there, the same campaign manager, all the staff is
- 35:32Speaker 1: around there, So she would be the quote easiest choice.
- 35:36Speaker 1: You look at this, it doesn't say she could win,
- 35:40Speaker 1: But is she the front runner or is it Michelle Obama?
- 35:43Speaker 2: Or who is it? In your opinion?
- 35:45Speaker 15: Look, I still think it's Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is
- 35:48Speaker 15: the only candidate the Democrats could push Kamala aside, for
- 35:53Speaker 15: they know Kamala is a terrible candidate. They're really scared.
- 35:57Speaker 15: They don't want her at the top of the ticket.
- 35:59Speaker 15: But they're bean counters. The way their party is, whatever
- 36:03Speaker 15: your race, whatever your gender, whoever you are, that is
- 36:06Speaker 15: the dominant feature about you. It matters more than anything else.
- 36:09Speaker 15: The people who talk about putting Gavin Newsom in and
- 36:13Speaker 15: pushing Kamala aside, the Democrat Party would would would spontaneously
- 36:18Speaker 15: explode if they pushed a black woman aside for a
- 36:23Speaker 15: rich white man. They're not going to do that. There
- 36:27Speaker 15: is the number of people who can push Kamala aside
- 36:30Speaker 15: in the Democrat Party. It is a set of one,
- 36:32Speaker 15: and the only one is Michelle Obama. She too is
- 36:35Speaker 15: an African American woman. She could push Kamala aside. Look
- 36:40Speaker 15: the polling we've seen where there's a poll that came
- 36:42Speaker 15: out this week that showed Michelle Obama with a double
- 36:46Speaker 15: digit lead over Donald Trump. She would be a very
- 36:50Speaker 15: very dangerous candidate if it's not Michelle Obama. If Michelle
- 36:55Speaker 15: says no, she might. I hope she says no. You know,
- 36:58Speaker 15: I want to speak directly to mill Hey, you're really rich.
- 37:01Speaker 15: You're enjoying the life of a movie star. Private jets
- 37:03Speaker 15: are fun, the Hamptons are fun. You're palide around with
- 37:07Speaker 15: people who are famous, with rock stars. You don't need
- 37:10Speaker 15: to go to work. You don't need to bother yourself
- 37:12Speaker 15: with pushing a Marxist agenda to destroy America. Leave it
- 37:16Speaker 15: to others to destroy America. You and your family have
- 37:19Speaker 15: done enough to damage the world. Enjoy the life of
- 37:23Speaker 15: a gazillionaire. I don't know that my pitch is persuasive,
- 37:26Speaker 15: but I hope it is because it would be very
- 37:27Speaker 15: good if she decides not to run. If she does
- 37:31Speaker 15: decide not to run, then I think the person that
- 37:34Speaker 15: replaces Biden probably is Kamala because I don't think anyone
- 37:37Speaker 15: else can. I think Kamala is a really weak candidate.
- 37:42Speaker 15: She is a very unpopular vice president. There's a reason
- 37:47Speaker 15: when she ran for president in twenty twenty she got
- 37:50Speaker 15: zero delegates. She couldn't even make it to Iowa and
- 37:53Speaker 15: get any support. But if she becomes the nominee, they
- 37:59Speaker 15: probably probably plug someone in there as a VP to
- 38:03Speaker 15: try to balance it. It wouldn't surprise me to see
- 38:05Speaker 15: I could see Gavin Newsom as a VP to either
- 38:09Speaker 15: Kamala Harris or to Michelle Obama. I think Gavin Newsom
- 38:12Speaker 15: is very much on the VP train. I could see
- 38:16Speaker 15: a Gretchen Witmer, the governor of Michigan, as a VP
- 38:20Speaker 15: to either one of them, as well both of those.
- 38:22Speaker 15: I think are real possibilities. But at the end of
- 38:25Speaker 15: the day, I think the only two nominees who have
- 38:29Speaker 15: a credible chance replacing Biden or Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris.
- 38:34Speaker 15: And if I were a Democrat, I'd be all in
- 38:36Speaker 15: on Michelle because the polling shows she wins and Kamala loses.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Final two questions for you.
- 38:43Speaker 1: One, when do you think the media has to stop
- 38:47Speaker 1: this onslaught of attacks on the president because they're going
- 38:49Speaker 1: full court press is in another week and then they
- 38:52Speaker 1: got to dial it back in case he does continue
- 38:55Speaker 1: to be the nominee, they can't push him out. And
- 38:58Speaker 1: number two, how important is this is prime time taped
- 39:02Speaker 1: interview Friday night for Joe Biden's future?
- 39:08Speaker 15: Well, I mean, let me start with number two. The
- 39:11Speaker 15: interview on Friday is very important. If he goes and
- 39:15Speaker 15: just craps the bed, that could be fatal. I think
- 39:21Speaker 15: ABC and Stephanopoulos are going to do everything they can
- 39:24Speaker 15: to prevent that from happening. I think they're going to
- 39:26Speaker 15: edit the heck out of the interview. They should run
- 39:30Speaker 15: it live, and anyone who cares like ABC should be
- 39:33Speaker 15: embarrassed about itself that it's not running it live. Because
- 39:37Speaker 15: their editing will be designed to create a false impression,
- 39:41Speaker 15: to protect Joe Biden, to turn it into a campaign video.
- 39:45Speaker 15: If they're a real journalistic outlet. You know when I
- 39:47Speaker 15: do interviews, I do them live, and if I say
- 39:50Speaker 15: something dumb, you know what, the camera catches it and
- 39:53Speaker 15: all the world can hear. And it's not ABC's job
- 39:57Speaker 15: to be doing the pr and damage control for the Democrats,
- 40:01Speaker 15: but that's what they're doing. I think the interview matters
- 40:04Speaker 15: a lot. I also think it's interesting you're seeing Democrats
- 40:09Speaker 15: publicly breaking ships. So Lloyd Doggett, very liberal Democrat from Austin, Texas,
- 40:15Speaker 15: became the first Democrat member of Congress to say the
- 40:17Speaker 15: president should step aside. Two others, Jared Golden and Maine
- 40:23Speaker 15: and Marie Gluosen camp Perez of Washington, both Democrats, both
- 40:29Speaker 15: said they believe Biden will lose in November. That's significant
- 40:33Speaker 15: that you're seeing elected Democrats coming out saying that. Another one,
- 40:40Speaker 15: Seth Moulton, another Democrat from Massachusetts, raised real questions about
- 40:45Speaker 15: whether Biden can win. He said, quote, I deeply respect
- 40:49Speaker 15: President Biden and all the great things he's done for America,
- 40:51Speaker 15: but I have grave concerns about his ability to defeat
- 40:54Speaker 15: Donald Trump. Winning will require prosecuting the case of the
- 40:58Speaker 15: media in town halls and at pain stops all over
- 41:00Speaker 15: the country. President Biden needs to demonstrate that he can
- 41:04Speaker 15: do that. The unfortunate reality is that the status quo
- 41:08Speaker 15: will likely deliver us President Trump. We're seeing that happening
- 41:13Speaker 15: more and more and more.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Now.
- 41:14Speaker 15: Your first question was how long will the media continue
- 41:18Speaker 15: to attack? Listen on the debate night, I predicted if
- 41:21Speaker 15: this is gonna happen, it's gonna shake out in twenty
- 41:24Speaker 15: one days. So we're a week into it. I think
- 41:27Speaker 15: we have two more weeks ahead of us. We will
- 41:30Speaker 15: go into the Republican Convention in two weeks. I think
- 41:32Speaker 15: we'll know what happens by then. A final point in
- 41:36Speaker 15: one that has not been discussed a great deal. I
- 41:39Speaker 15: think all of this drama impacts President Trump very significantly,
- 41:43Speaker 15: and in particular, it impacts his vice presidential choice. Trump
- 41:50Speaker 15: is in the middle of presumably picking who he wants
- 41:52Speaker 15: to be VP. Lots of names have been floated, there
- 41:55Speaker 15: are lots of short lists, lots of things discussing. Well,
- 41:58Speaker 15: normally when you're picking a VP candidate, you know who
- 42:01Speaker 15: your opponent is you know what you're fighting against. In
- 42:05Speaker 15: this instance, it's a very difficult situation for Trump because
- 42:11Speaker 15: the kind of VP he might pick if he's running
- 42:14Speaker 15: against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could be a very
- 42:18Speaker 15: different VP than if he's running against Michelle Obama. I
- 42:22Speaker 15: think right now the Trump team is feeling incredibly confident.
- 42:26Speaker 15: I think they think they're gonna win, They're gonna beat
- 42:28Speaker 15: Joe Biden. I think they're feeling on top of the world.
- 42:30Speaker 15: I can tell you if the news broke tomorrow that
- 42:34Speaker 15: Biden was not the nominee anymore and it was gonna
- 42:37Speaker 15: be Michelle Obama, the Trump team, if it were not
- 42:40Speaker 15: at a major emergency mode level of this is serious,
- 42:47Speaker 15: then they'd be misreading the situation because Michelle Obama's the
- 42:50Speaker 15: Democrat nominee is incredibly dangerous and that could easily impact
- 42:55Speaker 15: the vice presidential nominee. So, for example, if it's Michelle Obama,
- 43:00Speaker 15: maybe Trump picks Tim Scott, deciding that he wants to
- 43:03Speaker 15: go fight and fight more aggressively for African American votes.
- 43:06Speaker 15: That's one possible consideration that maybe that's a little bit
- 43:10Speaker 15: less of a consideration. If Joe Biden is at the
- 43:12Speaker 15: top of the ticket, so there are complicated, complicated chess
- 43:17Speaker 15: moves that are playing out right now because of the
- 43:21Speaker 15: uncertainty of who's going to be the nominee.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Make sure you share this with your family and friends
- 43:28Speaker 1: on social media wherever you are in social media right
- 43:32Speaker 1: It's a five star review and I will see you
- 43:34Speaker 1: back here tomorrow
