- 1:44Speaker 6: turn mouth.
- 1:45Speaker 7: Turn out the water the mon jo.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Look, come on, come on, you think I sure will?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you all listening to the voice? Come on,
- 2:07Speaker 2: dig me now one and on. Is Steve Harvey got
- 2:10Speaker 2: a radio show? Yeah?
- 2:12Speaker 8: Man boy, God has been good to me. Man, I
- 2:17Speaker 8: can't really count at all. You can't either, You know,
- 2:20Speaker 8: it's all in perspective. You really can't count all that
- 2:23Speaker 8: God has done for you if you look at every
- 2:26Speaker 8: little thing. It's unbelievable. The things He's done for us.
- 2:31Speaker 8: How many times you know, we got through something without
- 2:34Speaker 8: even talking to him about it. He just he just
- 2:36Speaker 8: blessed us with it. How many you know? It's just
- 2:39Speaker 8: it's so much that the fact that you wake up
- 2:42Speaker 8: in the morning, the fact that you still have a
- 2:44Speaker 8: place to stay, the fact that you know may be
- 2:47Speaker 8: struggling out here, but guess what, you still going to work.
- 2:49Speaker 8: You know, you live in check to check. But you're
- 2:52Speaker 8: making it all. You got all the plates spinning. You know,
- 2:55Speaker 8: it's hard. You got a lot of plate spinning, but
- 2:57Speaker 8: you keep him up there somemer every now and there
- 2:59Speaker 8: in one break, but he put two more back up
- 3:01Speaker 8: there to look a little bit better, and you got
- 3:02Speaker 8: to get to spending them so it all works.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And then you got a lot.
- 3:07Speaker 8: Of people who just can't seem to mentally put it
- 3:11Speaker 8: together as to you know, why their life isn't in
- 3:16Speaker 8: a position that they wanted to be. We talk about
- 3:18Speaker 8: this oftentimes, but I don't want to try another angle
- 3:21Speaker 8: with you to day.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You know, maybe it's you. Have you ever thought about that,
- 3:28Speaker 2: Maybe it's you.
- 3:31Speaker 8: Maybe it's no external force that's at fault, like you
- 3:34Speaker 8: keep making the excuse to be You know, so many
- 3:38Speaker 8: people out here, Well, if this hadn't ha done this,
- 3:40Speaker 8: if he hadn't have done that, if she hadn't have
- 3:42Speaker 8: done that, I would have been further along. I wasted
- 3:46Speaker 8: all my time, my years with this man, and he
- 3:49Speaker 8: did this, and I could have been here, and I
- 3:51Speaker 8: could have been there, and this woman she did this
- 3:54Speaker 8: to me, And if she hadn't have.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Done that, I could have been here and I could
- 3:58Speaker 2: have been there. Maybe it's you.
- 4:02Speaker 8: Maybe it's not really that external force that you keep
- 4:05Speaker 8: making it out to be. See, I've done this to
- 4:09Speaker 8: myself before. Once again, I'm talking to you about something
- 4:14Speaker 8: I know about. I've done this to myself before. I've
- 4:18Speaker 8: had the reason I wasn't where I wanted to be.
- 4:22Speaker 8: I had it figured out as some external force. I
- 4:27Speaker 8: had worked it out in my mind. Clearly it wasn't
- 4:30Speaker 8: me because of so and so, or if this hadn't happened,
- 4:35Speaker 8: and if they hadn't have done this, I would have
- 4:37Speaker 8: been further along up the road. That's what I was saying.
- 4:41Speaker 8: But hold on, man, boy learned a valuable lesson.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Man.
- 4:45Speaker 8: See, if you don't ever let it go, it's gonna
- 4:51Speaker 8: be hard for you to go. If you don't ever
- 4:57Speaker 8: let it go, it's gonna be hard for for you
- 5:00Speaker 8: to go. I was listening to Bishop td Jake's one day,
- 5:04Speaker 8: and I heard him say, you can't drive your car
- 5:10Speaker 8: if you gonna keep looking in the rear view mirror.
- 5:14Speaker 8: You go outside and try that. Try to drive your car,
- 5:17Speaker 8: but keep your eye in the rear view mirror. All
- 5:21Speaker 8: you looking at is where you're being all you're looking
- 5:24Speaker 8: at in that rear view mirror is where you passed
- 5:27Speaker 8: or should have passed, something you should have moved on from.
- 5:31Speaker 8: All you're doing is looking in that rear view mirror
- 5:33Speaker 8: at what happened back now. If you don't stop looking
- 5:38Speaker 8: in the rearview mirror, you're gonna crash your car over
- 5:42Speaker 8: and over and over again. All you got to slow
- 5:46Speaker 8: it down so bad in order for you to keep
- 5:50Speaker 8: looking in that rear view mirror. If you don't learn
- 5:55Speaker 8: to let it go, it's gonna be hard for you
- 5:59Speaker 8: to go forward because you keep reviewing the past.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The past is the past, and I know it's hard.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Man.
- 6:08Speaker 8: I watched a show and this lady said, well, I
- 6:11Speaker 8: just can't ever forgive them for that, or guess what,
- 6:15Speaker 8: guess what God may have.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Already forgiven that person.
- 6:20Speaker 8: That person may be extremely remorseful, could have gone to
- 6:24Speaker 8: God and got in forgiveness for it years ago. But
- 6:29Speaker 8: you you sit here and you keep hanging on to
- 6:32Speaker 8: the back. I can't ever forgive that. Then I heard
- 6:37Speaker 8: Bishop Jakes come on the show one time and say
- 6:39Speaker 8: something that really really struck home. You keep drinking the poison,
- 6:44Speaker 8: waiting on your enemy to die.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He said that.
- 6:50Speaker 8: I just shook my head and went, wow, you drinking
- 6:54Speaker 8: the poison.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Waiting on your enemy to die. Revenge is poison to you.
- 7:03Speaker 8: You know, if hatred is poison to you. Unforgivingness, when
- 7:09Speaker 8: you won't forgive a person, that person could be going
- 7:13Speaker 8: on with they life made the right with God. Don't
- 7:16Speaker 8: know how you feeling. They skipping through life. Now you
- 7:19Speaker 8: make adjustments every time you see them. And it takes energy. Man,
- 7:23Speaker 8: it takes so much energy to hate. It takes so
- 7:26Speaker 8: much energy not to forgive to Now they come in
- 7:30Speaker 8: the room. You got to avoid them. Stay over here,
- 7:33Speaker 8: Oh here they come. Now you got to make a
- 7:35Speaker 8: situation over here. They come into the house his family reunion.
- 7:38Speaker 8: Oh oh, here they come. Or where they gonna be
- 7:40Speaker 8: in the basement. I'm going to be on the third floor.
- 7:42Speaker 8: I want to go out here and get some barbecue.
- 7:44Speaker 8: She out there at the barbecue, staying, Oh lord, I
- 7:46Speaker 8: don't want a barbecue. I just eat to take a
- 7:48Speaker 8: set of people, man, take themselves all out of position,
- 7:52Speaker 8: trying to make adjustments, when if you it would simplify
- 7:56Speaker 8: your life, if you would let just let it go.
- 8:00Speaker 8: Maybe you ain't where you need to be because of them,
- 8:02Speaker 8: external forces altogether. Maybe you not where you need to
- 8:07Speaker 8: because of you, because you won't let it go, you
- 8:11Speaker 8: won't move forward. Look at this, ladies. Let's say you've
- 8:15Speaker 8: been in a situation with a man for years. It
- 8:19Speaker 8: didn't work out. For whatever the reason, it just didn't
- 8:21Speaker 8: work out.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I got what you say he did.
- 8:25Speaker 8: I got what he did, I got he all of that, YadA,
- 8:28Speaker 8: YadA YadA. When you get through, did not God get
- 8:33Speaker 8: you through it? Did not he allow you to survive it.
- 8:39Speaker 8: I got you, got some cuts on you, I got
- 8:42Speaker 8: you been a little bit bruised. But did he not
- 8:45Speaker 8: get you through it? So, now that he's freed you
- 8:49Speaker 8: from it, now he done went on. He got a
- 8:50Speaker 8: whole nother family over there somewhere. Now, he trying to
- 8:54Speaker 8: make it right because maybe he learned the mistake he made,
- 8:57Speaker 8: and now he trying to be a better man.
- 8:58Speaker 2: He just trying to get it right now.
- 9:01Speaker 8: But you sitting there holding on to it, you drinking
- 9:04Speaker 8: the poison, waiting on your enemy to die. So now,
- 9:07Speaker 8: instead of you enjoying the blessing of finally being free
- 9:10Speaker 8: from a situation that was not healthy for you, you create
- 9:13Speaker 8: an even more unhealthy situation in your mind, by hating,
- 9:18Speaker 8: by having revengeful thoughts, by hoping he fall on his face.
- 9:23Speaker 8: Maybe you even doing something to the other situation to
- 9:25Speaker 8: make sure they struggle. Oh man, you drinking the poison,
- 9:30Speaker 8: waiting on your enemy to die. Maybe you ain't where
- 9:32Speaker 8: you ought to be in life, not because of your
- 9:35Speaker 8: external forces, but maybe it's you. If you don't let
- 9:40Speaker 8: it go, it's gonna be hard for you to go.
- 9:44Speaker 8: You can't keep driving your car looking in the rear
- 9:47Speaker 8: view mirror. Come on, man, Forgiveness is not for the
- 9:53Speaker 8: other person. Forgiveness is for you.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:01Speaker 8: I've got sunshine on a cloudy day when it's called outside,
- 10:06Speaker 8: I get the month of May. Well, I guess you say,
- 10:11Speaker 8: what can make me feel this way? I'll tell you
- 10:15Speaker 8: what it is. My girl, my girl, I'm talking about
- 10:21Speaker 8: my girl, my girl. Those were the types of lyrics
- 10:28Speaker 8: that were written in a time where men expressed their
- 10:33Speaker 8: sincere and obvious love for women. Something has happened in
- 10:38Speaker 8: our music. That's why I don't buy none of it.
- 10:43Speaker 8: This message this morning to my sons and daughters to
- 10:46Speaker 8: keep wondering why I won't download nothing new, cause y'all
- 10:51Speaker 8: ain't talking about a damn thing. If I got some
- 10:57Speaker 8: time to listen to music, I want to here. I've
- 11:01Speaker 8: got sunshine on a cloudy day. He boom, boom, that's
- 11:09Speaker 8: what I want to hear. I don't want to hear

- 11:14Speaker 8: this thing.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Somebody's shot me. I got fourteen times to.
- 11:17Speaker 8: Get yeah, yeah, great, great, great, we're in the club.

- 11:43Speaker 8: a woman in your life. Man, just give him some
- 11:46Speaker 8: credit to her. Tell her what she really mean to you.
- 11:49Speaker 8: Tell her you ain't gonna do.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Good without it.
- 11:51Speaker 8: Don't hurt it, don't hurt. I'm telling you that's the
- 11:53Speaker 8: truth really, because if you if you think you can
- 11:56Speaker 8: make it without women, I got news for you, man,
- 11:59Speaker 8: This whole old thing ain't worth a loted die without them.

- 21:59Speaker 11: It is for Steve's favorite segment, asked the CLO Chief
- 22:03Speaker 11: Love Officer, Steve Harvey, ready for your love questions, and
- 22:08Speaker 11: this one is from Corey in Orlando. Corey writes him
- 22:11Speaker 11: thirty three and my older brother is thirty seven. He's
- 22:14Speaker 11: coming to town for the holidays and he wants to
- 22:16Speaker 11: bring a female that's not his girlfriend. I told my
- 22:19Speaker 11: parents that they shouldn't allow him to do it, but
- 22:22Speaker 11: my dad said it's fine. His girlfriend stuck by his
- 22:25Speaker 11: side while he was in law school and helped him
- 22:28Speaker 11: out financially. Now that he's passed the bar, he's parading
- 22:32Speaker 11: around this little white attorney he works with. Should I
- 22:35Speaker 11: confront him or avoid family time with him.
- 22:38Speaker 8: Wow, well bruh oh that's you know. Look man, your
- 22:50Speaker 8: brother gets to make the decisions for his life what
- 22:53Speaker 8: he want to make. He's bringing somebody else at dinner
- 22:57Speaker 8: and it ain't his girlfriend, now, I mean, I mean, okay, Sureley,
- 23:03Speaker 8: did they say this was for Christmas?
- 23:05Speaker 1: For the holidays?
- 23:06Speaker 4: Uh?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Huh? So now let me ask you a question.
- 23:09Speaker 8: How do you leave your girlfriend at home for the
- 23:12Speaker 8: holidays and bring another girl? Have you ever thought, younger brother,
- 23:17Speaker 8: that the girlfriend ain't in the picture?
- 23:19Speaker 7: No more?
- 23:21Speaker 2: Could that be?
- 23:22Speaker 8: Because when you do, you ain't coming around for the holidays,
- 23:25Speaker 8: and you bringing one over for the holidays, that's a change.
- 23:30Speaker 8: You got another problem cause the girl white. That's because
- 23:35Speaker 8: you wrote that in the letter. Yeah, that's what's really wrong.
- 23:39Speaker 8: And the sister helped him out. But that don't mean
- 23:41Speaker 8: you got you get that. That doesn't mean that don't
- 23:43Speaker 8: mean you're gonna make the whole cut, you know now,
- 23:46Speaker 8: I know it be out that Well, that's the one,
- 23:48Speaker 8: that's that what you want? That ain't the one you like?
- 23:52Speaker 8: Now the problem is he bringing his white girl over.
- 23:56Speaker 8: You got a problem. You to know your parents not
- 23:58Speaker 8: to let him do that. He thirty seven. Your daddy
- 24:00Speaker 8: has said, let him do what he want to do,
- 24:03Speaker 8: and brouh, it's your brother's business.
- 24:06Speaker 2: I would avoid. Yeah, there you go. Probably the White House.
- 24:14Speaker 8: He heard the song and he's having it and obviously
- 24:19Speaker 8: been dreaming about it, just like the song. So now welcome.
- 24:24Speaker 8: You know you saw the movie Guess who's coming to dinner?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Well, he wants to confront his brother or a boy family.
- 24:35Speaker 8: Ain't no confront your brother about what? That's your brother,
- 24:37Speaker 8: business man? You bring who you want over for holidays?
- 24:40Speaker 2: Quit tripping? He your brother, all right?
- 24:44Speaker 11: Moving on Derees and little Rock says, I listened to
- 24:47Speaker 11: you guys online and you have said that men and
- 24:49Speaker 11: women cannot be best friends unless sex is involved.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I want clarification because I've had him.
- 24:56Speaker 2: What I said, go ahead.
- 24:59Speaker 11: I've had that male best friend for almost ten years,
- 25:02Speaker 11: and now that he is divorced, he wants to stay
- 25:05Speaker 11: overnight at my house on the weekends. I am not
- 25:07Speaker 11: attracted to him at all. Do you think he's trying
- 25:11Speaker 11: to sleep with me?
- 25:11Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 25:14Speaker 2: What you think?
- 25:15Speaker 4: What? Ever?
- 25:16Speaker 2: What's your money?
- 25:17Speaker 8: Asked to spend a night at your house? For his hotels?
- 25:22Speaker 8: He can stay in his house. Now, what I did
- 25:25Speaker 8: not say is you can't be best friends without sex involved.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I didn't say that.
- 25:32Speaker 8: I said it's hard for a man to be best
- 25:36Speaker 8: friends with the woman he's attracted to. Thus, this man
- 25:40Speaker 8: is attracted to you, and now that he got a divorced,
- 25:43Speaker 8: he don't want to be your friend no more.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He want to sleep with you.
- 25:47Speaker 8: He want to slumber party. Yeah, not damn at all. Okay,
- 25:52Speaker 8: then now we have a problem. But I told you
- 25:55Speaker 8: how men are. I didn't tell you how women are.
- 26:00Speaker 8: I said, if a man is attracted to you, he
- 26:03Speaker 8: will lay and wait till there's a crack in the door.
- 26:06Speaker 8: He got a divorce, he thinks that's the crack in
- 26:09Speaker 8: the door. Now all of a sudden, y'all, friendship, he
- 26:11Speaker 8: won't sleep with you now here. That's what I said,
- 26:15Speaker 8: and what I stand by what I say, And all
- 26:17Speaker 8: these men out here, no, man, I have very attractive
- 26:20Speaker 8: women that I'm not.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but you would if you could. Dog. So
- 26:23Speaker 2: now listen in that conversation.
- 26:25Speaker 8: Next question, Shirley, all right, Monete, I said that old ass.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I know what I'm talking about.
- 26:34Speaker 11: Monette in Greenville says, my mother and I have dated
- 26:37Speaker 11: the same man in the past, and now he's married
- 26:40Speaker 11: to a lady we go to church with. I don't
- 26:42Speaker 11: talk to my mother anymore, and I don't fool with
- 26:45Speaker 11: this woman. I want to know why he felt the
- 26:47Speaker 11: needs cheat on me with my mom and then this
- 26:50Speaker 11: older lady at the church. I could see if it
- 26:52Speaker 11: was a sugar mama situation, but it wasn't. Why did
- 26:55Speaker 11: he feel like she should be a better wife than me?
- 26:58Speaker 1: It's eating at me? So do I get closure?
- 27:02Speaker 8: Wow, you're not gonna get no closure from him. You
- 27:05Speaker 8: need closure with yourself, you and your mama. Dating a
- 27:08Speaker 8: man with hoosh tendencies, a man with holish tendencies has
- 27:12Speaker 8: dated you, your mama and now another woman at the church.
- 27:16Speaker 2: What what is it? You need closure home? Y'all?
- 27:19Speaker 8: Was all attracted to a wish man, not a man
- 27:23Speaker 8: that took his act somewhere else. He don't want you,
- 27:28Speaker 8: and why would you want him? He then slept with
- 27:31Speaker 8: your mama and the other woman.
- 27:33Speaker 2: At the church. And I can promise you it's some more.
- 27:36Speaker 2: He's married at church.
- 27:39Speaker 8: It's okay, it's some more. You pull off a stunt
- 27:43Speaker 8: like this, it's because.
- 27:44Speaker 2: You're good at it. It's some more. Why am I
- 27:48Speaker 2: not good enough?
- 27:49Speaker 7: You?
- 27:49Speaker 2: You dodged a bullet?
- 27:51Speaker 8: Yeah, be grateful, man, lady, Come on, give yourself breaks.
- 27:58Speaker 1: He's married anybody?
- 28:00Speaker 2: What church? Y'all go to? Man? Great?
- 28:06Speaker 8: Anybody been to the passes office about this? What's happened?
- 28:10Speaker 8: He ain't nobody pulled into the office about this one?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Right here?
- 28:13Speaker 8: Y'allly had no church counseling? Is just pop it off? Passages?
- 28:18Speaker 2: Man him?
- 28:19Speaker 8: How many times he'dn't married him?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Alright, let's go on, all right.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Jeanette in Michigan.
- 28:26Speaker 11: Says, I'm fifty seven years young and I have a
- 28:29Speaker 11: weight loss surgery and I got a nose job. I
- 28:32Speaker 11: was dating a man that didn't mind my weight and
- 28:34Speaker 11: said he loved my big old nose. Now that I've
- 28:37Speaker 11: healed a bit, I tried to rekindle the flame with him,
- 28:40Speaker 11: but he said he's only attracted to big girls. I've
- 28:43Speaker 11: done online dating and I had a blind date. But
- 28:45Speaker 11: nobody turns me on like my ex. If it's real love,
- 28:49Speaker 11: why does size matter? Is he making up excuses because
- 28:53Speaker 11: he's moved on?
- 28:54Speaker 15: Wow?
- 28:56Speaker 8: He making up excuses because he liked what he liked.
- 29:00Speaker 8: He like them thick. You done lost weight. He like thick,
- 29:05Speaker 8: big nose women wide. No, now you the wild weight
- 29:10Speaker 8: and got your damn nose cut down. Now he theem
- 29:15Speaker 8: went from Dayton Nail Carter to Michael Jackson.
- 29:17Speaker 2: He don't want that. And she put that nose back
- 29:21Speaker 2: on the old Okay.
- 29:24Speaker 8: You know how they put the makeup on your nose
- 29:29Speaker 8: to make it look thinner. Uh huh, yeah, he was
- 29:32Speaker 8: probably wide in that brushstroke out a little bit and
- 29:34Speaker 8: try to make your nose look wider.
- 29:37Speaker 1: We just forget about it to move on. But as
- 29:40Speaker 1: long as you feel good about yourself, mister.
- 29:44Speaker 8: Steve Martin Marty show man.
- 29:47Speaker 1: But I got his old wratchet behind.
- 29:50Speaker 10: I won't let me spend none of my money, he said.
- 29:53Speaker 10: My goal is to have my money outlive me. What
- 29:58Speaker 10: would I die.
- 29:59Speaker 15: The money died.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Live, Poe and die rich.
- 30:04Speaker 10: I'm looking for a casket with a pocket in it
- 30:06Speaker 10: right now.
- 30:07Speaker 9: I don't left these raffles account.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Because they get to spend all day.
- 30:10Speaker 11: Well, all of us here at the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 30:18Speaker 11: we can hardly wait till till Christmas. Most of us write, uh,
- 30:22Speaker 11: except for you know who bitter man slash the Grinch.
- 30:26Speaker 11: We call him the Grinch around Christmas. Anthony Brown, Steve
- 30:29Speaker 11: is here your friend.
- 30:30Speaker 8: Now.
- 30:31Speaker 1: This is his segment. He's calling it Evil Things to
- 30:35Speaker 1: Do for Christmas.
- 30:38Speaker 19: Because I don't know why I have been dubbed the
- 30:41Speaker 19: evilish one on this show because I'm.
- 30:43Speaker 8: Not the evil.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But you only want Yeah, you are Jay, not the evilist.

- 31:16Speaker 2: That's so much fun. Bring a lunch, just bring won't
- 31:20Speaker 2: make it.
- 31:21Speaker 19: Yeah, the best part of the when of the guy
- 31:23Speaker 19: who works at his sun gotta go back inside you.
- 31:26Speaker 19: That's the best fun. That is the best even last
- 31:31Speaker 19: thing to do for the holidays. Load up four or
- 31:34Speaker 19: five baskets, load the man you're gonna shop and you'll
- 31:38Speaker 19: walk out and leave them because you know somebody got
- 31:40Speaker 19: to put that stuff back down.

- 40:42Speaker 2: Like what I like?
- 40:45Speaker 4: Yo? Yo?
- 40:45Speaker 3: What's up to Shah? Homie ice cube?
- 40:47Speaker 19: Wishing everybody a happy holidays from my family to yours
- 40:51Speaker 19: and the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 40:53Speaker 2: What up Steve?
- 40:57Speaker 11: It is time once again to check Steve's voicemail. These
- 41:00Speaker 11: calls we're going to continue him eight seven seven twenty
- 41:03Speaker 11: nine Steve, and Steve, we have a lot of messages
- 41:06Speaker 11: about yesterday's Strawberry letter. Remember it was called too Good
- 41:09Speaker 11: to be True. It was about a woman who was
- 41:11Speaker 11: dating a man for about a month and he took
- 41:13Speaker 11: her to his high school reunion. At the reunion, he
- 41:16Speaker 11: ate some bad tuna. She warned him about this tuna,
- 41:20Speaker 11: telling him it didn't smell right, but he didn't listen
- 41:23Speaker 11: ate it anyway. He got sick and while at home
- 41:26Speaker 11: he asked her to stay with him. She said no
- 41:28Speaker 11: and suggested that he go to the er, and she left.
- 41:32Speaker 11: The next day she called a check on him. He
- 41:34Speaker 11: told her basically he didn't want to see her again.
- 41:37Speaker 11: This is from Sophia in New Orleans.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Good morning, Steve.
- 41:42Speaker 13: This is Sophia from New Orleans. I'm writing to work
- 41:46Speaker 13: and I'm listioning to the Steed Harvey Morning Show. I
- 41:50Speaker 13: just heard part one of the Strawberry letter, too Good
- 41:54Speaker 13: to be True, and I'm with you one hundred percent, Steve,
- 42:00Speaker 13: because young lady does not know how to take care
- 42:03Speaker 13: of a man. She should have stayed with him, she
- 42:07Speaker 13: should have taken.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Him to the hospital.
- 42:10Speaker 13: She blew it, and she doesn't deserve the good man
- 42:14Speaker 13: that she claimed to have had the opportunity to share
- 42:19Speaker 13: one month with.
- 42:21Speaker 1: She killed it.
- 42:23Speaker 13: You guys, keep doing what you're doing and have a
- 42:27Speaker 13: blessed day.
- 42:29Speaker 8: You know, I agree with you say, because you know what, man,
- 42:31Speaker 8: it don't hurt to care about a person. He was
- 42:34Speaker 8: sick as hell. He wasn't trying to sleep with the girl.
- 42:37Speaker 8: He said, just would you stay with me? She said no,
- 42:41Speaker 8: if you that's it, go to the er. Okay, cool,
- 42:44Speaker 8: here this man trying to find somebody to ride with.
- 42:47Speaker 2: You know, it's just a simple test. You could have said.
- 42:50Speaker 8: She could have said, hey, listen, I will stay with you,
- 42:52Speaker 8: but I'm gonna stay here on the sofa and if
- 42:53Speaker 8: I hear you need anything, I'm here for you.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Now.
- 42:55Speaker 8: That would have made a dude feel one hundred percent better.
- 42:58Speaker 8: But oh no, uh, that's said go to the er.
- 43:01Speaker 8: I'm bouncing deuces. Okay, cool, Okay, clearly you ain't what
- 43:06Speaker 8: he needs.
- 43:06Speaker 2: He just worked. Okay, that's just a sickness, and let's
- 43:09Speaker 2: get I tell.
- 43:10Speaker 8: This praise the helper out and read out of money.
- 43:17Speaker 8: Br br If you ain't there, If you you you
- 43:21Speaker 8: That's why I tell people about relationships.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Let your relationship got to be tested.
- 43:26Speaker 11: Go ahead, we have another one from Houston. Her name
- 43:30Speaker 11: is Marie. Let's see what she says.
- 43:31Speaker 20: Hey, Steve and the crew, this is Marie from Houston, Texas.
- 43:35Speaker 20: I'm calling about the strawberry letter the guys did Tuesday.
- 43:40Speaker 20: He turned out he was too good to be true.
- 43:42Speaker 20: Shirley's like, you know, well you too, let it go.
- 43:46Speaker 20: And then Steve just went in on this woman because
- 43:49Speaker 20: she wouldn't stay with the man. Baby who wasn't you know,
- 43:53Speaker 20: thoughtful enough, wasn't smart enough to list of it. She
- 43:55Speaker 20: told him the tuna fish was bad. He didn't listen.
- 43:59Speaker 20: He scarfd down and held a bunch of them anyway,
- 44:02Speaker 20: which is why he wound up being in the bathroom
- 44:04Speaker 20: for a long damn time.
- 44:06Speaker 1: And then he's.
- 44:07Speaker 20: Mad because she wouldn't stay overnight with him and baby him,
- 44:10Speaker 20: and Steve's all on the on the woman, ting about
- 44:12Speaker 20: that's why you that's probably why you ain't got nobody now. Well,
- 44:15Speaker 20: first of all, she had him, and secondly he was
- 44:19Speaker 20: singled who thirty eight years old, no kids, never married,
- 44:23Speaker 20: so that's a that's a bad thing for her to
- 44:27Speaker 20: like still be single at that point, but not for
- 44:30Speaker 20: him as some double standard. Steve, he didn't have no
- 44:33Speaker 20: damn body either before he started dating her the month before.
- 44:37Speaker 20: And I kind of I tried with the woman. She
- 44:39Speaker 20: didn't feel like staying there and been days that damn
- 44:42Speaker 20: long you're talking about, get some super so she didn't
- 44:44Speaker 20: feel like it. And if he's out because of that,
- 44:47Speaker 20: oh well, he sounds like a big old man.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Baby.
- 44:49Speaker 20: If he just listened to her about the dad tuna
- 44:52Speaker 20: fish tip began with his ass, wouldn't have gotten food poisoning. Noting, Steve,
- 44:57Speaker 20: you look too hard on her. Damn him, you know,
- 45:01Speaker 20: is his ass thirty eight, never been married and stuff,
- 45:04Speaker 20: and it sounds like too big of a prize the
- 45:05Speaker 20: damn self.
- 45:06Speaker 8: Bye, guys, and baby, I one hundred percent. I one
- 45:14Speaker 8: hundred percent agree with you too.
- 45:17Speaker 1: That's right. Give baby, Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 2: You said what you said. That's fine. That's how you
- 45:23Speaker 2: want to view it. That's how you can view it.
- 45:24Speaker 8: But now, ain't nobody got nobody now, damn And you know,
- 45:27Speaker 8: dudes don't listen. Good Yeah he should have listened, but
- 45:31Speaker 8: he didn't, now you know. But then you know she's
- 45:33Speaker 8: sitting up here, she's gonna walk away from good ass man,
- 45:35Speaker 8: over that right there, y'all keep.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Doing it like this, you ain't gonna have nobody.
- 45:40Speaker 8: All right, coming right, it's off the blocks for Dayton.
- 45:45Speaker 11: Well, you're not in today's prank phone call. Right after this,
- 45:50Speaker 11: you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up
- 45:54Speaker 11: at the top of the hour, right about four minutes after.
- 45:56Speaker 11: It's my strawberry letter for today, and the subject is
- 45:59Speaker 11: is ex wife got a real Christmas tree?
- 46:03Speaker 2: Oh?
- 46:03Speaker 1: Hell, we'll talk about that and a few uh.
- 46:11Speaker 11: Well, get into that just a few because right now
- 46:13Speaker 11: the nephew is here with today's prank phone call.
- 46:16Speaker 1: What you got for us today, nephew?
- 46:18Speaker 2: A wedding and a funeral? That's too much.
- 46:23Speaker 21: A wedding and a fun trying trying me today with him,
- 46:31Speaker 21: They trying try a.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Wedding.
- 46:41Speaker 8: But I like the way he gave me, had the
- 46:44Speaker 8: call he got because he didn't have win all in
- 46:47Speaker 8: the back of his throat wind.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Playing man, let's go care. I'm not gonna say it again.
- 46:59Speaker 4: I'm trying Ryan, Ryan, how you doing. Hey, I'm good.
- 47:02Speaker 4: I'm thinking this is Josh Josh over at thee I'm
- 47:05Speaker 4: one of the officials at the church where you guys
- 47:07Speaker 4: are getting married tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, how you doing, man?
- 47:11Speaker 4: I want to thank y'all for that too, man. We
- 47:13Speaker 4: we'll appreciate it sure here.
- 47:14Speaker 12: Well, we definitely hope to make you a member here
- 47:16Speaker 12: sooner or later since you guys are getting married.
- 47:18Speaker 4: You know, hey, man, you know I'm trying to get
- 47:20Speaker 4: this work schedule changed up. You know what I'm saying.
- 47:22Speaker 4: They got me working on Sundays now, man, So as
- 47:25Speaker 4: soon as I tweak at a mood at around a
- 47:27Speaker 4: little bit, I'll be there.
- 47:28Speaker 12: Okay, listen, we have a bit of a situation that's
- 47:31Speaker 12: come up. We had some problems and miscommunication and it's
- 47:34Speaker 12: definitely been on the outside.
- 47:36Speaker 4: They had your name Ryan down here with your phone
- 47:39Speaker 4: number as well as you as soon to be wife Sonya.
- 47:42Speaker 4: They had her name here, but we didn't want to
- 47:44Speaker 4: call her with if we wanted to just reach out
- 47:46Speaker 4: and talk to you and see if it just make
- 47:48Speaker 4: you aware of what was going on. Okay, what's going on? Man,
- 47:52Speaker 4: there's been a mix up on on scheduling. I don't
- 47:54Speaker 4: know if you know su the older make she passed
- 47:57Speaker 4: away a week ago, and you're not you're not a
- 48:00Speaker 4: member of the church, so you wouldn't know it. But
- 48:01Speaker 4: she's one of the one of the oldest members here
- 48:04Speaker 4: at the church. It's the older may passed away. And
- 48:07Speaker 4: what's going on? Is you all's wedding is tomorrow at
- 48:11Speaker 4: twelve o'clock, right, but the actual funeral is at three
- 48:16Speaker 4: o'clock here at the church. Okay, uh began, Brother Josh, Josh, Okay,
- 48:23Speaker 4: look here, brother Josh. Hey, man, we we already got
- 48:27Speaker 4: this thing in motion. Man, we didn't stand down. They
- 48:30Speaker 4: have mere two hundred invitations. Man, I mean, blessed us
- 48:33Speaker 4: so old man, and and I understand that, but but
- 48:36Speaker 4: but I mean, you know, she's there's no way we
- 48:39Speaker 4: could have moved it around.
- 48:40Speaker 12: Now the figures problem.
- 48:41Speaker 4: The funeral home is bringing the casket first thing in
- 48:44Speaker 4: the morning. So what I want what I wanted to
- 48:46Speaker 4: make you aware of. And I don't want you to
- 48:48Speaker 4: tell you why this, but the actual casket will be
- 48:51Speaker 4: in the Saint Arear, but we will have it come rollo.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Hold on, man, are you serious? I look at him. Hey,
- 48:57Speaker 4: y'alln't need to move this around. I don't know what
- 48:59Speaker 4: y'all gonna do. Y'all have a fellowship all in the
- 49:01Speaker 4: back or something.
- 49:02Speaker 12: Like that, Ryan. The only place we can actually put
- 49:06Speaker 12: the cask in it if we didn't put it there,
- 49:08Speaker 12: is in the actual room that you'll as soon to
- 49:10Speaker 12: be wife would be changing in. That's the only place.
- 49:14Speaker 4: My wife, say, could have changed no room with no
- 49:16Speaker 4: dead body, you kidding? And you know what, I understood that.
- 49:20Speaker 4: That's the first thing I thought of it. I thought,
- 49:22Speaker 4: I said that, just put the casket the way it
- 49:24Speaker 4: goes for the and we're gonna cover it up and
- 49:27Speaker 4: see basically you actually get in. Wow, I can't even
- 49:31Speaker 4: believe you call it. What did the man look at
- 49:33Speaker 4: the excuse my french man? Yeah, I know I need
- 49:36Speaker 4: to get back into church, I really do. But right now, Doug,
- 49:39Speaker 4: this ain't going down like this man. Now, we didn't
- 49:41Speaker 4: already pay the money. First of all. First of all,
- 49:45Speaker 4: you know, I don't even feel like she may to pay,
- 49:48Speaker 4: you know, to to hold no wed and over and
- 49:50Speaker 4: hunt her to where she pay tithes at. That's that's
- 49:52Speaker 4: the first thing. You know. I ain't like that from
- 49:54Speaker 4: the jumping, but I wouldn't head when winning because she
- 49:56Speaker 4: want her pastor to marry us. And now you got
- 49:59Speaker 4: the nerve to tell me it's how we arrange something
- 50:01Speaker 4: that funeral will happen the same day as my wedding,
- 50:04Speaker 4: and my wife got to get dressed in the room
- 50:06Speaker 4: with a dead body.
- 50:07Speaker 12: Well, we're not gonna put it in that bro. Like
- 50:09Speaker 12: I say, I'm putting that body first thing in the morning.
- 50:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna put that body in the right there in
- 50:14Speaker 4: front of the fullpit, and we're gonna cover it. Now,
- 50:18Speaker 4: what you're getting out of it is you're getting more flowers,
- 50:20Speaker 4: because there's gonna be flowers from the funeral. So I'm
- 50:23Speaker 4: thinking that's probably gonna be a little bit of a perk.
- 50:25Speaker 4: But I just wanted you to they don't wear it.
- 50:27Speaker 4: It's probably gonna be more people than you think because
- 50:30Speaker 4: some of the people that's gonna be at their wedding
- 50:32Speaker 4: it's really for the funeral. A hold on, man, are
- 50:35Speaker 4: you serious right that? I mean, look here, doctor, I
- 50:38Speaker 4: then paid for the wedding that happened at this church. Man, okay,
- 50:42Speaker 4: And no disrespect to the lady that is past, God
- 50:45Speaker 4: bless her family. I ain't planning to not putting no
- 50:48Speaker 4: dead body, having no funerals at my wedding. Man, that's crazy.
- 50:53Speaker 4: I'm gonna come down there church, too, sir. She's a
- 50:56Speaker 4: member of the church too. I don't give it. I
- 50:58Speaker 4: don't be no member of the church.
- 50:59Speaker 19: Man.
- 51:00Speaker 4: I ben paid for this win and it's gonna happen tomorrow. Man,
- 51:03Speaker 4: you my fixing and putting no dead body at my wedding.
- 51:07Speaker 4: What's right? Right?
- 51:11Speaker 12: I mean no difference.
- 51:12Speaker 4: But the woman has passed. She is not gonna get up.
- 51:16Speaker 4: I mean, what what is the town? The problem is? YO?
- 51:19Speaker 4: Calls me with this man the day before my wedding.
- 51:21Speaker 4: We didn't schedule there six months ago. I gotta spend
- 51:24Speaker 4: twenty five thirty thousand dollars on this wed.
- 51:26Speaker 15: Okay, and I do gonna tell me that we got
- 51:28Speaker 15: to show.
- 51:28Speaker 4: I will wed with a tremble. But the hell is
- 51:30Speaker 4: wrong with you? Man?
- 51:31Speaker 15: You man something?
- 51:32Speaker 4: Do you want to have your wedding at this church?
- 51:35Speaker 4: I paid for the what you mean wrong? I'm having
- 51:37Speaker 4: a wedding, okay. I tell you what. Let the body
- 51:40Speaker 4: up in the marning. I rolled in the right up
- 51:41Speaker 4: the street planning. Y'all just stay out there in the
- 51:43Speaker 4: front and and and throw for hours like throwing rice.
- 51:46Speaker 4: But we're gonna have a wedding. It's out the same
- 51:49Speaker 4: Jerry Tomorrow I promise you that I can't. I cannot
- 51:52Speaker 4: assure you that it won't be I have no other
- 51:54Speaker 4: place to put the body. Okay, well, I'll bet you'll
- 51:56Speaker 4: find somewhere to put it. If I get that a mark,
- 51:59Speaker 4: it's a body. Now, there's gonna be a couple of
- 52:00Speaker 4: boudies in there. And ain't you got two choices? To
- 52:03Speaker 4: move the funeral or to rembursity back. It's thirty thousand
- 52:07Speaker 4: dollars out of our respend. Those are the two choices
- 52:09Speaker 4: I want to hear about it. Meet me at the
- 52:10Speaker 4: front door to night with a thirty thousand dollars cashier check,
- 52:13Speaker 4: or we say to have this wedding up in there
- 52:15Speaker 4: tomorrow morning. You heard me. I ain't playing. I ain't
- 52:18Speaker 4: playing at all, no joke. What's wrong with child? Man?
- 52:21Speaker 12: You can do something else, man, I understand that I
- 52:25Speaker 12: don't want to know.
- 52:25Speaker 4: More from you. Man, all I'm saying is it's gonna
- 52:28Speaker 4: be a wedding at this church tomorrow without saying dead body.
- 52:32Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying.
- 52:32Speaker 12: To push it to the band, man, there's one more
- 52:36Speaker 12: bit of an issue that I need to tell you.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Also, what can be worse than a dead body. What
- 52:40Speaker 4: issue can be worse than dead body at my wedding? Man?
- 52:43Speaker 4: The issue is there that is worse than the dead
- 52:45Speaker 4: body is? This is next few time and from the

- 53:07Speaker 15: then got leave to get the best beat down possible.
- 53:16Speaker 4: Man, I'll telling you, hey, one more question.

- 56:13Speaker 10: time for a strawberry little My friend Shirley Strawberry.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Thank you, my friend Junior. It's subject.
- 56:21Speaker 11: What happened his ex wife got a real Christmas Tree
- 56:25Speaker 11: is the subject of this letter for today. Dear Stephen, Shirley,
- 56:29Speaker 11: I'm on my second marriage and there's an issue in
- 56:32Speaker 11: my marriage. My husband was married for eighteen years and
- 56:35Speaker 11: he's got two daughters and joint custody of them. I
- 56:38Speaker 11: have a daughter that lives with us. We've blended the
- 56:41Speaker 11: family nicely, and his daughters are sweet to my daughter,
- 56:44Speaker 11: but they like to remind her that their father is
- 56:47Speaker 11: not her father. My husband is not good at setting
- 56:50Speaker 11: boundaries for his ex wife.
- 56:52Speaker 1: When we started dating, he let me know.
- 56:55Speaker 11: That he and his ex are friends and whatever he
- 56:57Speaker 11: does for her is for his daughter. I can accept that,
- 57:01Speaker 11: but when it gets to be too much, I stepped
- 57:03Speaker 11: in to help him set boundaries. The other day, he
- 57:07Speaker 11: told me that since his ex wife and the girls
- 57:10Speaker 11: moved into a new house, he wanted to buy his daughter's.
- 57:13Speaker 1: A nice Christmas tree.
- 57:15Speaker 11: I was against it, but then I realized his daughter's feelings.
- 57:20Speaker 11: Then I considered his daughter's feelings and I agree to it.
- 57:23Speaker 11: We got a little seven foot artificial tree out of
- 57:26Speaker 11: the storage room, and I went and bought new ornaments. Saturday,
- 57:30Speaker 11: he told me he was picking up his daughters to
- 57:33Speaker 11: get a tree, and he took my daughter with them.
- 57:36Speaker 1: I wasn't invited.
- 57:37Speaker 11: Two hours after they left, my daughter posted a video
- 57:41Speaker 11: in her Instagram story and they were shopping for a
- 57:44Speaker 11: real tree. They picked a giant, beautiful, real, fluffy tree.
- 57:49Speaker 11: I had assumed they would go to Walmart and buy
- 57:51Speaker 11: an artificial tree. My daughter said they took the tree
- 57:55Speaker 11: to his ex wife's house and he set it up
- 57:57Speaker 11: for them.
- 57:58Speaker 1: He set it up for them and they decorated it together.
- 58:00Speaker 11: I was crushed because I decorated our fake tree alone
- 58:04Speaker 11: while they were gone. My husband always justifies things by
- 58:08Speaker 11: saying that his daughter shouldn't suffer because he left their mother.
- 58:12Speaker 11: Does he do it out of guilt? Will his ex
- 58:14Speaker 11: wife be forever a part of our family?
- 58:17Speaker 7: Well?
- 58:18Speaker 1: Yeah, in a sense.
- 58:20Speaker 11: She may not be a part of your family, Okay,
- 58:22Speaker 11: but she is the mother of your husband's daughters, and
- 58:26Speaker 11: those are your stepdaughters. So the ex will always be
- 58:30Speaker 11: in your life somehow, Okay, as long as you know
- 58:33Speaker 11: she's got the daughters and everything.
- 58:36Speaker 4: You know.
- 58:37Speaker 11: My issue is with you, though, really, I mean this
- 58:39Speaker 11: is kind of petty. You're worried about a Christmas tree here.
- 58:43Speaker 11: I think you're saying it's about that, but what it
- 58:45Speaker 11: really is is that you don't want your man over there,
- 58:48Speaker 11: and you don't want him over there doing stuff for them,
- 58:50Speaker 11: like putting up the tree as a family. I think
- 58:53Speaker 11: you're jealous when where this is concerned. But I'm telling
- 58:57Speaker 11: you don't be insecure. Because he still wants to spend
- 59:00Speaker 11: time with his daughters. That means he's a good dad. Okay,
- 59:04Speaker 11: he's right. He left their mom, not his kids, so
- 59:07Speaker 11: he wants to continue to show up in their life
- 59:10Speaker 11: for them as their father. He and the ex don't
- 59:13Speaker 11: have anything going on. I mean, if you guys can
- 59:16Speaker 11: afford it, why don't you, You know, if there's something
- 59:19Speaker 11: wrong with your tree, why don't you and your husband
- 59:22Speaker 11: and the girls go out and get a tree.
- 59:24Speaker 1: You didn't have to stay.
- 59:25Speaker 11: There and decorate the tree by yourself. You could have
- 59:27Speaker 11: waited until they came home and you guys could have
- 59:30Speaker 11: done it together. You know, he just went with the
- 59:33Speaker 11: girls to get a new tree. You need to talk
- 59:36Speaker 11: to him if you have a problem with how he's
- 59:38Speaker 11: moving right now. But he sounds like a father who's
- 59:40Speaker 11: just trying to do the right thing to me. As
- 59:43Speaker 11: crazy as that all seems, it sounds. Yeah, I don't
- 59:46Speaker 11: have a problem with this.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Steve, Well, it's a twofold situation.
- 59:52Speaker 8: In my eyes, he's being a good dad and he's
- 59:55Speaker 8: being punished for that.
- 59:57Speaker 2: But he's doing it, and he's making a couple the
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: mistakes the way he's doing it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: You know, first of all, when y'all this is both
- 1:00:07Speaker 8: of y'all second marriage, he set this whole thing up
- 1:00:11Speaker 8: by telling you that, you know, look, but I'm gonna
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: do stuff with a daughter, and I'm gonna do stuff
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: for my daughter, and I'm gonna do stuff for her,
- 1:00:23Speaker 8: but the.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Reason I'm doing it for her is for my daughter.
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: He set all of this up with you in the
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: beginning because he's active in their life, as he should be.
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: Now you all say, you all have blended the family
- 1:00:35Speaker 8: together nicely, but the daughters are sweet to your daughter,
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: but they always remind her that ain't your daddy. They
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: do that kid's gonna be kids. They're gonna jockey for position.
- 1:00:45Speaker 8: Your husband is not good with setting boundaries for his
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: ex wife, and his ex wife is flexing because she
- 1:00:53Speaker 8: has two kids with him and she's taking advantage of it. Now,
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: let's get to the whole thing about what this letter
- 1:01:01Speaker 8: is about. His axe got a real Christmas tree. First
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: of all, when he picked up the daughter, when he
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: picked up his two daughters, and he took your daughter.
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: He took your daughter, which is his daughter, which is
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: to his biological daughters, because he wanted to get them
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: a tree because they had moved into a new house. Well,
- 1:01:28Speaker 8: now here the problem you made though when you took
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: your daughter from your new wife with you, and she
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: posted it on a story. So I'm assuming that these
- 1:01:43Speaker 8: might these might be teenage kids if they can post
- 1:01:46Speaker 8: on stories and stuff.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Wait a minute, what did you say?
- 1:01:50Speaker 11: Wait, say that one more time, Steve, about the daughters.
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: What I just wanted you to say that one more time?
- 1:01:59Speaker 11: What you said about the daughters. He has two daughters
- 1:02:02Speaker 11: with his ex. He has two daughters with his ex,
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: and then the wife had a daughter.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: The new wife has a second wife has a daughter.
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: Okay, but see that's his daughter. He has three daughters.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Now, yeah, right, right, separate them. If you separate them,
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: they will help you separate. Yes, yeah, maybe that's what
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: the deal is.
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: When I come back, I'm gonna tell you the mistake
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: he's making with this. He's a great dad, but he's
- 1:02:26Speaker 8: making a mistakes.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:02:28Speaker 11: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 1:02:31Speaker 11: twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry letter subject
- 1:02:35Speaker 11: is his ex wife got a real Christmas tree. We'll
- 1:02:38Speaker 11: get back into it right after this. You're listening Steve

- 1:03:14Speaker 11: recap today's strawberry letter. The subject his ex wife got
- 1:03:17Speaker 11: a real Christmas tree?
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Okay, So on the break, I read this letter again.
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: This married This man was married to this woman for
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: eighteen years and they got two daughters. His ex wife
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: were married eighteen years and they got two daughters. So
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: I'm going to assume that these two daughters are teenagers. Yeah,
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: because they got Instagram and they post his stories. You
- 1:03:37Speaker 8: she the woman he's married to now, who's writing this letter.
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: She has a daughter from her previous marriage. I don't
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: know how she is, but they treat her nicely. But
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: they do remind her that he's not your real daddy.
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: That's our real daddy. But they treat her nicely, and
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: you all have blend and they're sweet to the girl. Okay, cool,
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: So we got that out the way.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: The man set this up by telling you, listen, I'm
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: gonna do some things for my wife, my ex wife,
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: because we're friends.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: But everything I do for is because of the daughters.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: You.
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: Okay with that, Now let's get to what the problem is.
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: It's a Christmas tree. He the ex wife and the
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: two daughters that moved into a new house. He wants
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: to get them a nice tree for their house for Christmas. Okay,
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: So he takes your daughter, which is his daughter from
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: this marriage, Christmas tree shopping with his daughters from his
- 1:04:37Speaker 8: previous man, and he goes and buys them a real.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Christmas tree, big old fluffy tree.
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: You that went to the storage room and went out
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: there and got that little ragged ass Sears tree seven.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Feet tall in the box. Man, that's in the box
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: that you been putting up for years. And so now.
- 1:05:02Speaker 8: You bought some ornaments for the treat, some new ornaments.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: They went tree shopping.
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: You look on Instagram, your daughter the posted they bought
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: a tree. They take the tree to his ex wife's
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: house where his daughters live. They set the tree up
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: and they all decorated. Now you said earlier they went
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: Christmas tree shopping and you weren't invited. Okay, it was
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: just him and the girls. So that's cool because the
- 1:05:33Speaker 8: tree is for the girls. But it's at the ex
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: wife's house. I mean, that's what it is, so in
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: the waiters would be cool. Here's the mistake he's making.
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: You got to not make them kids feel and see
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: a difference. You've got to go above and beyond in
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: treating them the same and eat.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: This is not your stepdaughter, this is your daughter.
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: If the daughters get a real tree, everybody get a
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: real tree.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Yes see, he should have bought two real trees.
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: What he should have did because you can't make the
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: quote unquote step daughter feel step See. The reason we
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: never use the word step in our family was because
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: when you say step child, it's usually like a step down,
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: and it's like a step down from the level that
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: the regular children on that's why we never use that term.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: So now, but you can't let them see or feel
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: the difference.
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: Now, if his daughter's got a big fluffy Christmas tree,
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: he should have got a big Christmas tree at his
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: house too.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: That's the mistake he made.
- 1:06:51Speaker 8: Yes, that would that that would have cleared this whole
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: thing up.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: And bruh, that's all you got to do.
- 1:06:57Speaker 8: Everybody got to get equal and light treatment, period. And
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: you can't have your new wife feeling some kind of
- 1:07:05Speaker 8: way because you're doing all this extra stuff for your
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: ex wife, because that's how she looking at that too. Oh,
- 1:07:11Speaker 8: she got a treat. And y'all all decorate the tree together.
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: I didn't know you was gonna go over there and
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: put it up and decorate it together. I wanted to
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: surprise y'all when you came home. Y'all come home late.
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: I'd have decorated the tree by myself. And y'all asked,
- 1:07:25Speaker 8: was over there having family time?
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:07:28Speaker 8: You see why she said? You see now she gonna
- 1:07:31Speaker 8: be upset about that dog. And this is your mom,
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: because you gotta do everything equal. If you're over there
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: having hot chocolate, you got to come home have hot chold.
- 1:07:42Speaker 8: You'd then bought the Voka pound cake from naming Marcus
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: over there.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: You got to come in your house with the Voka
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: pound cake.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Okay, you know.
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: See that's what you gotta do now, brother, that's the mistake.
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: You make it, and you've got to sit your husband
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: down and say, hey, listen, we can't feel like with
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: second class citizens when it comes to special events, while
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: your ex and your biological children get all the perks.
- 1:08:13Speaker 8: So I think that's unfair. So you can do whatever
- 1:08:15Speaker 8: you want to do for them. I'm not stopping you,
- 1:08:18Speaker 8: but you needed to start doing the same thing over here.
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: See that real big fluffy tree that was beautiful, but
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: that would look good in this house too.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Yeah, they should get one, you see.
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: Because they had a new house. He feels like they
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: should get a new treat well. Well, well, and you
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: got to get to everybody else a new tree.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Though.
- 1:08:35Speaker 11: Something a thought came to my head because a lot
- 1:08:37Speaker 11: of mothers have mom guilt?
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Do dads have dad guilt as well? Is that what
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: he's dealing with dad guilt as well?
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Yeah? He said in the letter they can't pay because
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: I left.
- 1:08:51Speaker 11: Their mother, right right, I left their mother, not them.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: See.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: But then also now, so you got to be careful
- 1:09:01Speaker 8: of the Disney Dad syndrome too.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, see what you do.
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: See the kids, you can't be Disney Dad. And then
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: all of a sudden when you go home to your family, ain't.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: No Disney right, it's just the old tree.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: Uh, you got Disney Dad mold all the way around board.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: Bro.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Yeah all right.

- 1:10:17Speaker 11: for Steve. Now you might just hear your call on
- 1:10:20Speaker 11: the air, Steve, you recently said that if you have
- 1:10:23Speaker 11: a problem with your mother, you need to try and
- 1:10:25Speaker 11: fix it. Okay, I think that was yesterday or day
- 1:10:28Speaker 11: before on the air. Well, this caller has a question
- 1:10:31Speaker 11: about what to do with a complicated mother daughter relationship.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 1:10:36Speaker 22: Good morning. So this is a comment on what you
- 1:10:39Speaker 22: said about being upset with your mom or your dad
- 1:10:41Speaker 22: this morning, and you got to have a real problem.
- 1:10:44Speaker 22: But what if your parents are the problems? My mom
- 1:10:47Speaker 22: is a narcissistsartraistic and she uses any and everything against me,
- 1:10:54Speaker 22: give him my son, to make it seem like she's
- 1:10:57Speaker 22: done it thing wrong, like I'm the bad guy because
- 1:10:59Speaker 22: of the life that I chose to live, like she's
- 1:11:02Speaker 22: applied with it. Everyone around is always put before me,
- 1:11:06Speaker 22: and I'm always doing something wrong. So how am I
- 1:11:08Speaker 22: to heal that? How am I not to have a
- 1:11:11Speaker 22: feeling against my mom? If she does those types of things,
- 1:11:14Speaker 22: it says really really thinks to me don't just want
- 1:11:16Speaker 22: to sit there and take it. I don't understand that
- 1:11:18Speaker 22: I can't do that.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Here's a deal, sister. First of all, I don't know
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: the particulars.
- 1:11:22Speaker 8: I don't know the route that you chose to go
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: that makes you be pointed out as the bad guy.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I don't know the particulars.
- 1:11:30Speaker 8: I know that little baby, as boys you got, I
- 1:11:34Speaker 8: know you really need to go back there and fix
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: it with your mom and daddy. Doesn't sound like you're nine,
- 1:11:38Speaker 8: and don't sound like you're.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: On your own.
- 1:11:40Speaker 8: But that aside from itself, let's get serious about this
- 1:11:44Speaker 8: for a moment.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Here's the deal.
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: Listen to me, people, I've heard Bishop Jake say this
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: a million times. Forgiveness is not for the other person.
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: Forgiveness is actually for you. Because you said in your statement,
- 1:11:59Speaker 8: I can't do that. How am I supposed to forget?
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: I can't do that? Well, you not forgiving a person.
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: It's like you drinking the poison, waiting on them to die.
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: So now you gotta have a reaction to your mother. Look,
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: everybody don't get great parents, you know, ma'am. Watch I
- 1:12:18Speaker 8: watched my father make a few mistakes in his life,
- 1:12:22Speaker 8: but I still loved and honored him. He was my father,
- 1:12:26Speaker 8: and it kept us in a relationship that was a
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: beautiful relationship with this mad because, as Shirley just said,
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: these people are humans. You know, you don't get to
- 1:12:36Speaker 8: you don't get to stop being human. You don't get
- 1:12:38Speaker 8: to not make mistakes. So it's really up to you. Now,
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: if you feel that horrible about it, you're gonna just
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: another thing. My daddy said to me, He said, son,
- 1:12:47Speaker 8: two things can happen in life. You can get over
- 1:12:50Speaker 8: it or you can die mad. Now you can pick
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: one of it what you want. And he said, son, just
- 1:12:58Speaker 8: go and get over it. And I know you say,
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: well I can't. Well, if you say you can't, then
- 1:13:03Speaker 8: you can't. Steve Harvey and nobody else can help you.
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: You can go to a therapist. If you saying you can't,
- 1:13:08Speaker 8: forgive her and let it go. There's nothing nobody can
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: do for you.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, she's not even trying, she's not gonna try.
- 1:13:16Speaker 8: I would just look write it off. Mom, She making
- 1:13:19Speaker 8: a mistake, that's her.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: That's it. All right.
- 1:13:22Speaker 11: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right,
- 1:13:27Speaker 11: this is from Kelvin in Montgomery.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Listen up.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:13:30Speaker 11: Kelvin says, I live in a small town and I
- 1:13:33Speaker 11: was messing around with a married woman. I started messing
- 1:13:36Speaker 11: with her when her man was locked up for firing
- 1:13:39Speaker 11: a gun within city limits and attempted murder. He served
- 1:13:43Speaker 11: eight years and he's out.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:13:45Speaker 11: I'm scared for my life because I mistakenly left my
- 1:13:48Speaker 11: apron to my uniform in this woman's car and her
- 1:13:51Speaker 11: husband saw it. I'm scared to show up at work,
- 1:13:54Speaker 11: but I can't keep telling them that I have COVID.
- 1:13:57Speaker 11: I've been laying low and I thought about relo locating
- 1:14:00Speaker 11: to Atlanta.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: What should I do? I can't fight at all.
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: You need to be rolling to Atlanta now. Well, I
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: don't even know why you're taking time to write us.
- 1:14:10Speaker 9: That don't make no damn say. You should have rote
- 1:14:12Speaker 9: us from Atlanta. That's what you should have done. Why
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: is he in jail? Why was he in jail again?
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: He fired a.
- 1:14:19Speaker 11: Gun, firing a gun within city limits and a tent murder.
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: That part, when you knew that part, what made you
- 1:14:27Speaker 9: think mess around with this woman was okay? And you
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: know you can't fight, and you forgetful. You done left
- 1:14:34Speaker 9: half your stuff in the woman car. See right there.
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: This man actually finn to go back to jail if
- 1:14:39Speaker 9: he found your behind. You need to get on down
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: to Atlanta and mix it up and get get where
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: he can't find you. But you need to get your
- 1:14:44Speaker 9: butt out of this little small town that you say
- 1:14:46Speaker 9: you live in.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: That's another thing. Stupid. Somebody mess around in small towns.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: That's stupid, and I don't do that.
- 1:14:52Speaker 11: Kelvin is in his real name. There's not a lot
- 1:14:56Speaker 11: of Calvin's, but.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: He probably that's stupid too, his name.
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: Junior.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I'll take exact what I think. No, No, don't come
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: to Atlanta. We got enough shooting down here. We don't
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: need you.
- 1:15:11Speaker 10: Don't bring your ass to Atlanta. We fine, We got
- 1:15:14Speaker 10: enough attempted murders down here.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: We don't need no more motive. No were good.
- 1:15:18Speaker 10: Stay ask in Montgomery, work it out. Photos need folk.
- 1:15:22Speaker 10: Gonna get that apron out the car. I don't care
- 1:15:24Speaker 10: if you've got to be a sleuth. If you got
- 1:15:26Speaker 10: to slide from on the slide there.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Don't open. We get that apron. But don't come to Atlanta.
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: We can.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: We fine.
- 1:15:31Speaker 10: We on the news every night with something. We got
- 1:15:33Speaker 10: a lot of light attimpted murders. You don't need no

- 1:15:39Speaker 10: I don't need no more down here.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: No, no, we said, Atlanta's clothing. Yeah, we're clothed for shoot,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: we'll run.

- 1:16:17Speaker 11: you know when she comes to get her hair done.
- 1:16:20Speaker 11: I did not agree to that. If I had known
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: she was going to try to use me, I never
- 1:16:24Speaker 11: would have asked for her help. How do I tell
- 1:16:27Speaker 11: her that she will not be taking advantage of me?
