Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. There's a whole lot
- 0:04Speaker 1: of Oscar buzz swirling around George Clooney and his upcoming
- 0:07Speaker 1: movie The Midnight Sky that he directs and stars him
- 0:10Speaker 1: largely because of his portrayal of the complex lead character, Augustine,
- 0:13Speaker 1: who's not exactly big on social graces but finds himself
- 0:16Speaker 1: as one of the last people on earth along with
- 0:18Speaker 1: a young girl, and George was able to tackle the
- 0:20Speaker 1: role with confidence because of a lesson he learned from
- 0:22Speaker 1: playing Dr Doug Ross on The R. He tells, righty,
- 0:25Speaker 1: as an actor, I love the story because you can
- 0:27Speaker 1: never go wrong if it's you and a kid. I
- 0:30Speaker 1: played a pediatrician on The R. I was a womanizer
- 0:32Speaker 1: on the show and a drunk. But if at the
- 0:34Speaker 1: end of every episode, I was like, don't mess with
- 0:36Speaker 1: that kid, I could get away with anything. This film
- 0:39Speaker 1: gives me an opening as an actor to not have
- 0:41Speaker 1: to make this guy necessarily likable, protect the girl and
- 0:44Speaker 1: everything else could be unhappy or angry. Midnight Sky, Netflix, December.
- 0:49Speaker 1: That's direct from Hollywood
