- 0:26Speaker 1: That's what we do with Money Making Conversations. Welcome to
- 0:29Speaker 1: the ride. My guest, Jody Watley, Miss Jodie Rockley is
- 0:33Speaker 1: a Grammy winning, trend setting, pioneering music, video, fashion, and style.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Jody is listening on Billboard's Top sixty Hot one hundred
- 0:41Speaker 1: Female Artists of all time. She's top twenty five dance
- 0:44Speaker 1: artists of all time. She became the first artist to
- 0:47Speaker 1: release a million selling video, Dance to Fitness, which had
- 0:50Speaker 1: not been achieved by black woman or musician. She was
- 0:54Speaker 1: the first woman of color to play Rizzo on Broadway
- 0:56Speaker 1: and to hit musical Greece. She's an entrepreneur. She has produced,
- 1:00Speaker 1: She's releasing her own music. She's on the show to
- 1:02Speaker 1: talk about being an artist during the pandemic time and
- 1:04Speaker 1: coping with the work stopics. Miss Jordie Watty is finding
- 1:07Speaker 1: her sanctuary. That's what I found this on the I
- 1:10Speaker 1: was just doing our research and found it. And Miss
- 1:12Speaker 1: Jodie Watty finding her sanct You were in the kitchen, amiss,
- 1:14Speaker 1: all these uncertain pandemic times. She out there, she out
- 1:18Speaker 1: there clicking dishes and pots and payers and over a
- 1:21Speaker 1: hot stove, you know, like like she in the South
- 1:24Speaker 1: or somewhere. Please walk with the money made conversation, Miss Jody?
- 1:28Speaker 1: What hey? Where is introduction? You know? After that, I
- 1:34Speaker 1: feel like a boxer about to go in the ring.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Hey Jody, you know, here's a funny point about Jody.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And she was laughing so low. She was just laughing
- 1:45Speaker 1: so low, and then she just opening this middle interview,
- 1:48Speaker 1: She's gonna start laughing. Introduction's gonna just laughing at the store.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I love to thank you, and I'm so excited to
- 1:56Speaker 1: be talking to you. Well, I'm excited to be talking
- 1:59Speaker 1: to you off court. You know, a fan of your music,
- 2:01Speaker 1: fan of your talent. You're a beautiful person and uh
- 2:04Speaker 1: that watch you and danced dance with you so many
- 2:08Speaker 1: years on the dance floor, so this feels like okay,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know, okay, you know the music is still great, Jody,
- 2:15Speaker 1: but you know, music back in the day, I can
- 2:18Speaker 1: remember exactly where I was at on certain songs and uh,
- 2:22Speaker 1: you know, and that's where I can get kind of
- 2:25Speaker 1: missing the day because you know, you're throwing the music
- 2:27Speaker 1: videos in there, so you kind of go back to
- 2:29Speaker 1: the video before you go back to the moment when
- 2:31Speaker 1: you was on that in that in that basement party,
- 2:34Speaker 1: you know, just getting sweat, not enough like to see
- 2:37Speaker 1: when you're dancing with you know, but you're they're just dancing,
- 2:41Speaker 1: you know that. And that is something about music, and
- 2:45Speaker 1: it's true. It's so associated with growing up and memories
- 2:50Speaker 1: and you know, just in so many ways and you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: good time, bad time, uh and and between times and
- 2:58Speaker 1: so you know, my music, uh, it is a blessing
- 3:01Speaker 1: because it spans so you know, continuing on. But you
- 3:05Speaker 1: know it represents um, you know, always a good time
- 3:09Speaker 1: for people and that makes me happy. But what makes
- 3:11Speaker 1: me happy is that she and a person who you know,
- 3:15Speaker 1: has has to sustain career relevance in this entertainment business
- 3:18Speaker 1: because I've been in it, you know, for a long time,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and being in it, you know, trying to stay because
- 3:24Speaker 1: it's such a hard business because you can get and
- 3:26Speaker 1: the discrimination happens, or ages and happens, sexism happens, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: you know all those things, well you know, who is
- 3:33Speaker 1: she or what has she done later? What has he
- 3:35Speaker 1: done later? What have they done lately? That really permeates
- 3:39Speaker 1: really big in the entertainment game. It's kind of sad
- 3:42Speaker 1: because of the fact that there's so much uncertainty in entertainment.
- 3:47Speaker 1: How did mentally from a mental standpoint, how have you
- 3:50Speaker 1: been able to cope with that? Jody? You know, I
- 3:54Speaker 1: think throughout my life I'm very focused. I've always been
- 3:59Speaker 1: a person that UM has tried to have balance in
- 4:04Speaker 1: my life, which is very important in any profession. And UM,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know, never get too highs at the highs and
- 4:11Speaker 1: too low at the lows. And you know, it's always
- 4:15Speaker 1: been important for me to UM, to be authentic and
- 4:19Speaker 1: what I do, uh, to learn the business because I
- 4:22Speaker 1: think a lot of people get messed up getting in
- 4:25Speaker 1: the entertainment industry and I did started as a teenager.
- 4:29Speaker 1: But I've always been business minded. I mean when I
- 4:32Speaker 1: was in junior high school. Um, I would I had
- 4:36Speaker 1: I call him side hustles. I was so close for people,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'd make pillows at my dad's church, or fry fish
- 4:44Speaker 1: and and bake cupcakes to make money. We're gonna chicken
- 4:52Speaker 1: and all that little bit later. Don't behind this stuff earlier,
- 4:57Speaker 1: So I understand. So my journey has always been and
- 5:00Speaker 1: I think that really has helped me sustain in this business.
- 5:03Speaker 1: The uncertainty is because I've never been afraid of the work,
- 5:08Speaker 1: never been afraid to say no, um, and very meticulous
- 5:13Speaker 1: about what I do. And so if someone has I'm
- 5:17Speaker 1: not just enough, I'm not that enough, it never really
- 5:21Speaker 1: faces me. And I think it's important in life that
- 5:23Speaker 1: you have to believe when no one else believes, and
- 5:29Speaker 1: to keep doing the work in find ways to get
- 5:33Speaker 1: it done. If if doors, I mean doors have closed
- 5:35Speaker 1: on me, and I've opened new doors for myself because
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm continuing to do the work, you know, um, And
- 5:42Speaker 1: it's very important and it really is important because really,
- 5:46Speaker 1: when I look at your career, you know, because you've
- 5:48Speaker 1: had success in a group okay Salama, and then you've
- 5:51Speaker 1: had tremendous success as an individual artist talk about working
- 5:56Speaker 1: with people and then the burden of being a solo artist.
- 6:00Speaker 1: There are different different things. That's a task when you
- 6:03Speaker 1: buy yourself and you don't have nothing that nobody to
- 6:06Speaker 1: lean on but yourself, and the decision and the appearances
- 6:09Speaker 1: all on you. So talk about the success in a
- 6:11Speaker 1: group and the success as a solo artists just from
- 6:14Speaker 1: an entertainment standpoint, so people can understand the difference. Well,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you know, being in a group, being the only girl
- 6:20Speaker 1: in the group and not actually being protected was very
- 6:24Speaker 1: challenging for me, and you know it made me um.
- 6:28Speaker 1: You know, again, I had to be tough, I had
- 6:30Speaker 1: to carry myself in a certain way being a woman
- 6:33Speaker 1: in the business. If you're not kind of flighty or whatever,
- 6:37Speaker 1: you know, you get labeled things that aren't always very flattering.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But again it's like I know who I am and
- 6:46Speaker 1: I learned learned from it. So going solo actually has
- 6:50Speaker 1: never been a burden. Actually it's been such a blessing
- 6:53Speaker 1: because I get to do I get to own it
- 6:57Speaker 1: and to be in control of it and take people
- 7:00Speaker 1: to work with and not just do what I'm told,
- 7:03Speaker 1: but to really craft. I've been able to really craft,
- 7:07Speaker 1: uh my own niche as an artist. For you know,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I've been a solo artist now for over thirty five years,
- 7:14Speaker 1: um and seven years before that and Shalo Marso I've
- 7:18Speaker 1: been you know, on this, on this journey. But then
- 7:22Speaker 1: a solo I like, I like running my own business,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I really do, and so it's a joy. It's like,
- 7:27Speaker 1: you know, it's a lot of responsibility picking you know,
- 7:30Speaker 1: musicians and producers and um, but I'm about the business
- 7:34Speaker 1: and so so I enjoy all the aspects of this.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But you're live performer, and we know the value of
- 7:41Speaker 1: being a live performer. And the downside was the pandemic
- 7:46Speaker 1: they are nobody saw our comming. I knew. I didn't
- 7:48Speaker 1: see it coming, and not to the extreme when they
- 7:51Speaker 1: talk about shut down, you know, because that really doesn't
- 7:53Speaker 1: hit you what they're talking about until it actually happened.
- 7:56Speaker 1: What does that mean shut down when you're talking about
- 7:58Speaker 1: venus or close? Was they're talking about, you know, restaurant
- 8:02Speaker 1: your clothes? And how did that whole process in your mind?
- 8:07Speaker 1: How was it starting the process as being just what
- 8:10Speaker 1: they're talking about shutting Now? How did that whole process
- 8:12Speaker 1: work for you? Because I'm jiousing it freaked me out. Okay,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I think it's it had to freak all of us out,
- 8:19Speaker 1: and I think, you know, at first, actually, to be
- 8:22Speaker 1: honest with you, one of the first things that I
- 8:24Speaker 1: thought about was, I'm glad I've always lived below my
- 8:28Speaker 1: means and above my means because you know, I'm glad
- 8:34Speaker 1: that I'm a songwriter. And I thought, you know, God,
- 8:36Speaker 1: thank god I'm a songwriter, because I'm really going to
- 8:39Speaker 1: be living off my royalities now because there's not gonna
- 8:41Speaker 1: be any concerts. And you know, two months into it,
- 8:46Speaker 1: I went through a moment where I felt kind of that,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you know, because I like to hustle bus I love
- 8:53Speaker 1: performing and just you know, having this moment of pause.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I've always taken time off here there, but to actually
- 9:01Speaker 1: be forced into it um and so we're trying. What
- 9:05Speaker 1: I've really done is trying to find new ways to
- 9:08Speaker 1: keep myself busy, create some new revenue streams for myself.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And it's very important to again is not be defeated
- 9:19Speaker 1: by the situation, to find ways to make things happen.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And so you know, that's what I've been doing. Well,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you know, not to understanding that you have some facial masks,
- 9:28Speaker 1: are they out now they're coming out. Yeah, I have well,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I've had an online bouchique for about twenty years now
- 9:35Speaker 1: and uh I have you know, different merchandise coming in
- 9:38Speaker 1: all the time. And facial masks are one of the
- 9:41Speaker 1: new items. Um and um you know those came as
- 9:45Speaker 1: a result of the pandemic. You know, you gotta jump
- 9:48Speaker 1: on stuff. I give a portion of the proceeds defeating America,
- 9:52Speaker 1: so it's for a good cause. Um. You know I've
- 9:55Speaker 1: got sanctuary candles and uh room stray man um and
- 10:03Speaker 1: you know, and then the music. My current song is
- 10:05Speaker 1: the Healing and it's a timely song. Um. I got
- 10:08Speaker 1: Jodi Whitley coopering, so you know, okay, what you ain't
- 10:13Speaker 1: gonna do take on my show. Now, I started with
- 10:15Speaker 1: the facial man. Now you have to WHOOPI read now
- 10:18Speaker 1: it's it's a it's a method to this madnic when
- 10:20Speaker 1: you come on money and make conversation. We got to
- 10:22Speaker 1: talk about each one so it could be clearly heard.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Miss wait, I see, I see right now. We're gonna
- 10:29Speaker 1: have a great relationship, but we're gonna learn to make
- 10:31Speaker 1: money roushan wait okay, slow and effectively, Okay, because what
- 10:37Speaker 1: we're gonna do. First, we're gonna you know, we're gonna
- 10:39Speaker 1: put the mask out right now, are yeah? Okay, cool?
- 10:42Speaker 1: They are, they are available, Okay cool. So what we're
- 10:46Speaker 1: gonna do is we gonna get a little post a
- 10:49Speaker 1: picture with you with the mask, and we're gonna put
- 10:51Speaker 1: it on my social media this week. Okay, put that
- 10:54Speaker 1: it was over to me, okay, because I got eight
- 10:56Speaker 1: hundred Facebook following and any percent of my women Okay,
- 10:59Speaker 1: because my bacon don't ain't because they love me. They
- 11:02Speaker 1: just love those cakes. I'll be bo. So so so
- 11:07Speaker 1: we're gonna put that in. Then next Wednesday, my newsletter
- 11:11Speaker 1: comes out and then there's ninety thousand fan club subscribers
- 11:16Speaker 1: to that. So we're gonna drop the facial facial mask
- 11:19Speaker 1: in that. Okay, So we're gonna so that's the face.
- 11:21Speaker 1: That's how that's how you do business. When you come
- 11:23Speaker 1: on money making conversations, we ain't no hurry to make money,
- 11:28Speaker 1: which about relationships. That's how we lasted this long because
- 11:30Speaker 1: the relationship the about five and dead people that ain't us,
- 11:35Speaker 1: that ain't a we're long we're long term, long term.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So so then you then you talked about these candles.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Talk about these candle come tears them. Are these the
- 11:44Speaker 1: big fat candles that you can put it in your
- 11:47Speaker 1: in your bathroom while you're taking up a bathroom when
- 11:50Speaker 1: you outside reading the book? What type of countles are they?
- 11:54Speaker 1: So the sanctuary can't be the glass the big candles
- 11:59Speaker 1: those sold out. So the new shipment of candles are trumps,
- 12:05Speaker 1: their tens, travel tens. So you know it's very compact, uh,
- 12:11Speaker 1: the luxury soy candles, but they are they're not the
- 12:15Speaker 1: big oversized glass one this one because these are easier
- 12:20Speaker 1: to ship right. Well okay, so now that's sold out,
- 12:23Speaker 1: you say, right, the new travel tens those just arrived today. Okay, cool.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So so so we can put that on social media too, yeah, okay, cool.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So you old me every time. I don't think you're
- 12:38Speaker 1: calling money make conversation just to have a money make conversation.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You're not making their money because you got you know
- 12:44Speaker 1: what say to miss miss Jody Whiteley. You was saying
- 12:47Speaker 1: miss r Whiteley. So so we got there, we got
- 12:51Speaker 1: the facial mask. We just got a new shipment of
- 12:54Speaker 1: sanctuary candles in gott to do a banner for that.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So this Talco have we gotten to the be arranging,
- 13:00Speaker 1: then got today yet right, no, I'm flowing down. Okay,
- 13:10Speaker 1: learned quick learner, and you know you gotta listen to people. Okay. Now,
- 13:18Speaker 1: so now let's talk about the music song Healing. Let's
- 13:21Speaker 1: talk about that. What you know, I know, you have
- 13:24Speaker 1: a racial unrest, pandemic is over the avertly affecting the
- 13:28Speaker 1: African American community. We have an election here that uh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: it's just emotionally charging this The country in the world
- 13:36Speaker 1: is watching. And so when I hear a song called healing,
- 13:40Speaker 1: tell us what the story behind it and what you're
- 13:43Speaker 1: trying to achieve with what your music, who you're trying
- 13:46Speaker 1: to reach with the healing? I mean, you know, because
- 13:52Speaker 1: my music has progressed so much over the years, and
- 13:54Speaker 1: I wrote this song before the pandemic came out, came about,
- 14:00Speaker 1: and really I wanted to do a song to remind
- 14:03Speaker 1: people to no matter what's going on in the world,
- 14:05Speaker 1: never let anyone jim your life, your wattag, the wattage
- 14:09Speaker 1: lived within you, and to encourage people to live in
- 14:14Speaker 1: and now because now it's what we have and what
- 14:17Speaker 1: we make of life. And it's a dance room because
- 14:21Speaker 1: I know people like Ms Jodie. Part of my brand
- 14:23Speaker 1: is the dancing, but it's an inspirational song and it
- 14:26Speaker 1: just so happened that the pandemic hit and then you
- 14:29Speaker 1: know a black Lives Matter and everything, and so it
- 14:33Speaker 1: was one of those things to me, the universe had
- 14:36Speaker 1: the ultimate timing, uh in me putting it out. And
- 14:41Speaker 1: when you how does the how is the music being
- 14:43Speaker 1: distributed to streaming and work work work platforms. It's on
- 14:47Speaker 1: all digital platforms and streaming services, so you can download
- 14:51Speaker 1: it from iTunes or you can stream it listen to
- 14:55Speaker 1: it on Spotify, Apple Music. And also you know YouTube
- 15:00Speaker 1: of course, and and I do have a Jodie Whitley
- 15:03Speaker 1: YouTube channel. No, no, I don't know that channel. I
- 15:09Speaker 1: know a Miss Jodie Watterley YouTube channel. I don't know
- 15:12Speaker 1: Jodie Wattley YouTube child. That must be that must be
- 15:15Speaker 1: like a knockoff. That must be a knocker because I'm
- 15:17Speaker 1: saying I only talking to Miss Jodi wat This is
- 15:20Speaker 1: Miss Jordi Watley YouTube channel line I'm promoted in now
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'm just gonna throw the miss in front. That's how
- 15:25Speaker 1: I met you. That's how I met you. I love
- 15:28Speaker 1: talking about you now let's get to the hoop ear
- 15:31Speaker 1: ring rings. Now, who thought of this idea? And it
- 15:38Speaker 1: sounds so much fun? Talk about the hoop the rings, Well,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you know it's a Jodie Whitley signature. The jumbo hoo
- 15:45Speaker 1: bearings have been since my so little debut for a
- 15:49Speaker 1: New Love and people, Yeah, a journey. If you saw
- 16:00Speaker 1: me doing some bad dance and moves, you know that
- 16:02Speaker 1: the old man moved. You know, I really think I've
- 16:04Speaker 1: still got it going on. But obviously if you saw me,
- 16:06Speaker 1: you go, Okay, stop, you really need to stop trying
- 16:11Speaker 1: to dance to that something like that. I just had
- 16:14Speaker 1: to let you know that I was doing some bad
- 16:16Speaker 1: things over here, acting like I still had the skill set.
- 16:18Speaker 1: But I don't so the hoopiere rings because it's not
- 16:22Speaker 1: so much fun. First of all, Miss Joy. Yeah, I'm
- 16:25Speaker 1: enjoying this anyway because your energy is just on fire.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And and and we let me just tell you something.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You know, we we live in a stressed time because
- 16:33Speaker 1: of the fact that we um and I said that earlier,
- 16:38Speaker 1: we are talking about the election coming up, and it's
- 16:41Speaker 1: just great fear, you know, as as a black man,
- 16:44Speaker 1: you know, as a black person in general, but the
- 16:48Speaker 1: police has not been uh throughout our lives, not something recently.
- 16:52Speaker 1: We've always had concerns when we got pulled over, especially
- 16:55Speaker 1: at night. And so unfortunately for George Floyd, like white
- 17:00Speaker 1: well see it for the first time or acknowledge it
- 17:03Speaker 1: being stunned. Okay, yeah, and really it was eight minutes.
- 17:08Speaker 1: They didn't stopped because I like it when I see
- 17:11Speaker 1: white people out there protesting for for my carse yes,
- 17:15Speaker 1: I and I agree with you because I think that
- 17:17Speaker 1: will make the ultimate difference because like you said, we
- 17:20Speaker 1: were used to this unfortunately, but it's gonna take white people,
- 17:26Speaker 1: um to get involved. So seeing them out there protesting
- 17:30Speaker 1: and you know, I mean, you know, painting Black Lives
- 17:34Speaker 1: Matter on their cars and businesses and everything. But we
- 17:38Speaker 1: really do need um some change here, and um you know,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but they that was a big difference because I've never
- 17:44Speaker 1: seen that many um you know, that diversity and so
- 17:50Speaker 1: that yeah, I was I was stunning myself. Okay, Okay,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you know when you when you see it march, you know, okay,
- 17:57Speaker 1: white people, white people walking by the camera, white people,
- 17:59Speaker 1: white people, black white people, white people, black black white people,
- 18:02Speaker 1: white people. We need this. We need this because because
- 18:07Speaker 1: because of the fact that it's not it doesn't become
- 18:10Speaker 1: like these horrible black people out here tearing up our cities.
- 18:13Speaker 1: These horrible black people, you know, you have to be
- 18:15Speaker 1: fearful of them. You know, lock your doors, don't let
- 18:18Speaker 1: them in your neighborhood. They're going to tear up your city.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And that's what that's what was gonna happen without their participation.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And so because I because I could, I can see
- 18:26Speaker 1: you an iconic individual because of the fact that when
- 18:29Speaker 1: you these hoop ear rings, when you can take a
- 18:31Speaker 1: signature piece like a hoop ear ring, you know, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: then and then the people recognize as a style and
- 18:38Speaker 1: then you said, you know, I'm gonna make this a
- 18:39Speaker 1: fashion moment and then people buy it. How does that
- 18:43Speaker 1: make you feel? I mean, I feel very empowered by that.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And um, you know, as a black woman, it's you know,
- 18:52Speaker 1: um to the part of you know, other black artists
- 18:58Speaker 1: that trans that really transmitt being on the music and
- 19:03Speaker 1: so to be in that category of style icon or
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, things of that nature. Um, it's a good
- 19:10Speaker 1: ceiling because it's like it's it's me. It's a part
- 19:14Speaker 1: of who I am and bringing great style and class
- 19:18Speaker 1: has been always very important to me. Now, let's let's
- 19:22Speaker 1: get the real deal. Now. When I've been waiting on
- 19:26Speaker 1: the kitchen talk, she dropped a little you know, when
- 19:30Speaker 1: I was in junior high. You know, fry fish, she
- 19:33Speaker 1: makes some cupcakes and all that stuff. She she was
- 19:36Speaker 1: just setting us up that she didn't just start cooking
- 19:38Speaker 1: last week, or she didn't just start cooking during the pandemic,
- 19:42Speaker 1: just like act like she don't have nothing to do.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I've been cooking to the middle school. Yeah, okay, cool.
- 19:48Speaker 1: So uh you know, I'm If anybody knows anything about me,
- 19:52Speaker 1: Joda is that I'm a foodie. I love food. I
- 19:56Speaker 1: will eat my dessert for I eat my meal in public?
- 19:58Speaker 1: Are you taking to the fine out and strong? I go,
- 20:01Speaker 1: excuse me, excuse me, give me my desert. Men and
- 20:06Speaker 1: people have looked at me strange and go or you
- 20:08Speaker 1: did that stuff. I needs to know what I'm gonna
- 20:12Speaker 1: get right now, and so so talk about this whole
- 20:15Speaker 1: the early stages of cooking and then cooking. Now you
- 20:18Speaker 1: know and how does how does it? Is it a
- 20:20Speaker 1: calm the calming effect for your life, for your career?
- 20:24Speaker 1: And um, you know because you know, because you know
- 20:26Speaker 1: your fitness person, wool, you probably eat a little bit
- 20:29Speaker 1: different than me because I I'll make you mad. Jody
- 20:33Speaker 1: be going because I make a lot of people mad. People,
- 20:35Speaker 1: How does he stay like that and eat like that?
- 20:37Speaker 1: I get there a lot for people. You make me sick.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I get a lot of You make me sick with Sean,
- 20:43Speaker 1: you get on my nerves, get out my face. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: I eat a double King burger with relish double cheese,
- 20:51Speaker 1: uh with large fat fries and a large strawberry shake,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and won't miss a beat if that's a fat that's
- 21:04Speaker 1: a fat burger for people who knew. She knew exactly
- 21:07Speaker 1: what I was talking about. I did. In fact, it's
- 21:11Speaker 1: funny you should mention fat burger because the original uh well,
- 21:15Speaker 1: used to the popular one used to be in l
- 21:18Speaker 1: a last end in the kind of the Beverly Hills area,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and it used to be the spot people would go
- 21:26Speaker 1: there and parked out there on the weekend. Mean it
- 21:29Speaker 1: was the best. Uh So, yeah, I know about that burger.
- 21:34Speaker 1: She didn't break. She didn't break. Try when I started
- 21:36Speaker 1: rattling off that men, Yeah, yeah, that's a king Bourbon,
- 21:39Speaker 1: that's double king right there. Yeah, Yeah, come a large
- 21:45Speaker 1: fat She said, he ye he talking about he talking
- 21:47Speaker 1: about fat burger right there, Lord strawberry shake yeppy, Yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 1: he really on point when everything he said right there,
- 21:53Speaker 1: he has not stun He is truly a guy who's
- 21:56Speaker 1: been in fat burgers. And I you know, I love
- 22:01Speaker 1: I love food. Um, you know, I started cooking and
- 22:04Speaker 1: junior high the necessity initially because my mom and dad
- 22:08Speaker 1: split up and when I was did with my dad, um,
- 22:12Speaker 1: somebody had to do the cooking. So my mom was
- 22:15Speaker 1: a good so I just kind of remember things that
- 22:17Speaker 1: she made and uh and so you know, growing up,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I've always enjoyed cooking. It's relaxing, um, you know, like
- 22:25Speaker 1: since I've been in entertainment for you know, most of
- 22:28Speaker 1: my life since a teenager. So it's always a treat
- 22:31Speaker 1: to make a home cook meal being home and people
- 22:34Speaker 1: look at me and say, oh, she probably can't cook. Absolutely.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You know, you're attractive, you know everything. Yeah, everybody don't
- 22:44Speaker 1: know you have to you know, you don't look like
- 22:46Speaker 1: you did have bad days. You know for people look
- 22:48Speaker 1: people looking at they make assessments of you. You know
- 22:51Speaker 1: what you didn't cook? Look at that. You know, the
- 22:54Speaker 1: second time around, you know what I'm saying. That's right,
- 22:58Speaker 1: you know, you know she has somebody because of h
- 23:03Speaker 1: But I love to cook, cook, and I love to bake.
- 23:06Speaker 1: One of my favorite things to bake my kids. I
- 23:09Speaker 1: have a daughter and a son their young adults now,
- 23:11Speaker 1: but Thankgiving, I do uh tiny butter rolls and from
- 23:17Speaker 1: scratch with the yeast that rises that take three hours
- 23:20Speaker 1: and the whole bit. But it's always love. So I
- 23:23Speaker 1: think I love you could love into cooking like so,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I understand your passion. And and food is a thing
- 23:31Speaker 1: like music. It makes people happy too, doesn't happen? Well,
- 23:34Speaker 1: it made me happy. And I know I'm having a
- 23:37Speaker 1: fantastic time, you know, talking to you about just life
- 23:40Speaker 1: in general, because of the fact that you know, first
- 23:42Speaker 1: of all, you're an entrepreneur and your independent thinker and
- 23:46Speaker 1: uh and the part about success, I know that and
- 23:50Speaker 1: I tell people all the time, you know, being successful
- 23:53Speaker 1: in the entertainment business rough because everybody sees your can
- 23:56Speaker 1: see you. Okay, you know you've been successful it IBM,
- 23:59Speaker 1: nobody sees you. I'm not saying this name, but nobody
- 24:01Speaker 1: sees you. But when you're entertainment, they see you. They
- 24:04Speaker 1: know they might know how much money you're making. They
- 24:06Speaker 1: can they know the ticket prices, they know the size
- 24:09Speaker 1: of the venues you play, and so that takes a
- 24:11Speaker 1: mental toll on what people can perceive you being a
- 24:16Speaker 1: wanting to be a capable of producing and so so
- 24:19Speaker 1: it's important that these relationships. And I'm just gonna let
- 24:23Speaker 1: you know, Jody, I'm in your life now. Okay, So
- 24:25Speaker 1: so you know you you got stuff dropping, don't you
- 24:28Speaker 1: don't don't do don't you got no world? Said when
- 24:30Speaker 1: we shot, I forgot about you said it's gonna be
- 24:32Speaker 1: a problem between me and you, Miss Jodie Wide. I'm
- 24:34Speaker 1: just let you know, you know, around trying to shut
- 24:37Speaker 1: down your YouTube channel. That's what I'm gonna be doing that.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You know. You know this bru Shawn's trolling Jody while
- 24:45Speaker 1: on on social media. He's crazy, man, he's crazy. Is
- 24:51Speaker 1: he a sick o? Joe? I only did one interview
- 24:53Speaker 1: with I don't know what's wrong with the dude. I
- 24:55Speaker 1: just do want any of you to do. He've been
- 24:57Speaker 1: trolling Mirror because somebody's stop him. No, I'm just know
- 25:01Speaker 1: it's a joy. It's a complete joy because I wanted
- 25:05Speaker 1: to meet you and you're a person that because even
- 25:09Speaker 1: though you're behind the scenes, I want to tell you
- 25:11Speaker 1: I'm the kind of person like I like researching people
- 25:15Speaker 1: like well, who especially successful people as well? Who's on
- 25:20Speaker 1: this team? Who you know? And then again it goes
- 25:23Speaker 1: back to when I was middle and I used to
- 25:24Speaker 1: read about four models and I was like, I wonder
- 25:27Speaker 1: who who runs for my models? And I went to
- 25:29Speaker 1: the library and looked up I leaning forward. So I
- 25:32Speaker 1: like to know about people. So I've been knowing about
- 25:35Speaker 1: you for a long time. Thank you, And I have
- 25:38Speaker 1: so much respect for you. So you control me all
- 25:41Speaker 1: you like. Well, but before we go, I I don't
- 25:46Speaker 1: want to. I can't be you know, I kind of
- 25:47Speaker 1: you know, people get mad. Well, you're starting talking about
- 25:49Speaker 1: the kitchen. Didn't you just stop talking? So let's talk
- 25:51Speaker 1: about that the kitchen. What you're doing now? What's some
- 25:54Speaker 1: of your favorite meals? And because you mentioned you mentioned

- 27:12Speaker 1: your fried chickens and you know, with extra hot sauce
- 27:15Speaker 1: on it and greens with me. But you can also
- 27:18Speaker 1: have the greens without me, so you know, I so
