- 0:00This shit ain't nothing to me, man. This is Boxing
- 0:03Before Dark. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Back. Back.
- 0:06Back. Back. Back. Before. Before. Before. Before.
- 0:11Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing Before Dark. This
- 0:15is Boxing Before Dark. Yes. Boxing before dark.
- 0:35The hands are rubbed. The shoulders are popped.
- 0:39It's time to get this bitch rolling. I'm joined
- 0:42by Shanada. Is that what you go by? I don't know.
- 0:47Shanada, Shanada. Doesn't matter. Same shit.
- 0:50Yeah. So, we're here to talk fucking boxing.
- 0:55And boy, oh boy, is there plenty of it. By the
- 1:00time this comes out, it will have already happened.
- 1:07As we are recording, it has not happened yet.
- 1:13So we can't talk about it, even if we wanted
- 1:17to. I'm just going to say I called it. What I
- 1:22called, I'm not sure, but I called it. Thinking
- 1:32on how we've talked about the fight previously,
- 1:34I'm hoping that you didn't call it. Yeah, well,
- 1:40we don't know which fight I'm talking about yet.
- 1:42Yeah, it. There's only one it, I thought, for
- 1:49the weekend, but there's two. That's right. Well,
- 1:53maybe it's that Mbili isn't as good as everyone
- 1:55thinks. Who knows? Or Lester Martinez is actually...
- 1:59The fucking bee's knees. Roblox buff, baby. All
- 2:04right. Well, we can't talk about it because it
- 2:07hasn't happened yet. So sucks to suck for us.
- 2:13You know what is happening? Isaac Cruz versus
- 2:15Lamont Roach. Man, that's actually a really solid
- 2:19fight. I was surprised. I expect Lamont Roach
- 2:23is going to take this one pretty easily. Yeah.
- 2:27You never know, though. I mean, Isaac Cruz is
- 2:31never going to just lay down and die. The little
- 2:33pit bull will keep coming. He should change his
- 2:37name to Stafford. Staffordshire. Terrier? Yep.
- 2:43Terrier does fit him. Probably better than pit
- 2:47bull, but... I don't know. I think this will
- 2:50be fun. I don't know if it goes the whole distance,
- 2:53and I kind of agree. I lean towards Lamont Roach,
- 2:56but... I think it should be fun. If Lamont Roach
- 3:02was able to tame Tank the way he did, then I
- 3:06don't see Isaac Cruz offering him anything, any
- 3:09serious problems. What, tenacity? Is that it?
- 3:13Well, I mean, there will be more punches coming
- 3:17Roach's way. True. Tank's not a high output guy.
- 3:20True. So tenacity and output and Tank kind of
- 3:28quit. Like... Isaac's not gonna quit. He's not
- 3:32going to take a knee that's not a knee and ask
- 3:35his corner to wipe his eyes for him. I don't
- 3:39know. I think it'll be fun. You said the trigger
- 3:45word. The trigger phrase. A knee that's not a
- 3:48knee. Wipe my face. I'm getting fucking steamed
- 3:51again. You fucking lost that fight, buddy. You
- 3:56lost. 100 % Tank lost that fight. You lost that
- 3:59fight, dude. You got bailed out. The fuck out
- 4:03by video replay not working that they didn't
- 4:08fucking need. Like, you did not need replay on
- 4:11that. Knees are knees. That was not... Oh, did
- 4:20he maybe touch? No, he straight up did it. Yeah.
- 4:25Isaac Cruz, Lamont Roach. Yeah, you're right.
- 4:28You've painted this into a better light. I'm
- 4:31still favoring Lamont Roach. Too clever, I think.
- 4:40Yeah, I think Roach is a better boxer. Yeah.
- 4:45But... Good boxers have been beaten by output
- 4:50and tenacity before. Is that what happened to
- 4:56AJ when he fought Andy Ruiz? It kind of is, actually.
- 5:01That's a good segue. Excellent fucking transition
- 5:04point. Go me. AJ is out until at least mid -2026,
- 5:09is what they're saying. And you said it's not
- 5:14an injury, it's a choice. Yes. All of his contract
- 5:19situations have been falling through. and I think
- 5:23it's been messing with his mental, so he's kind
- 5:25of taking a break. Yeah, honestly, I think AJ
- 5:31needs to really, really consider just retiring.
- 5:38Become a Beats brand ambassador full -time. Is
- 5:43that what he... He always wears them, yeah. Oh,
- 5:48okay. Fair enough. Prep your things you like.
- 5:54If you like it. If you like them, then go ahead.
- 6:00Is that like Beats by Dre? Yes. They're expensive.
- 6:06They are. And they're not very good. I don't
- 6:10know if they're good. I just know they're expensive.
- 6:13I did a side -by -side. They're not very good.
- 6:17Fair enough. I got my electrical taped up pair
- 6:24that was a present because I'm too cheap to buy
- 6:26nice headphones. Nah. What are mine? They're
- 6:30Jubels, I think. I actually do really like them.
- 6:34Oh, if they work. They get the job done. And
- 6:37they sound good. Speaking of sounding good, the
- 6:44Oli Act, the changes to the Oli Act have been
- 6:47dropped. Dot, dot, dot. For now. For now. With
- 6:52Mr. Burns doing the little finger thing. Yeah.
- 6:57Excellent that he does. They're gone for now.
- 7:02Do you know why they've stopped? So they did
- 7:06get Congress or whatever to... Sorry, I need
- 7:11to start at the beginning. The fighters... league
- 7:15that's not what they're called the representatives
- 7:17of the fighters that last time we were talking
- 7:21about how they were never actually given the
- 7:23the sort of changes to read themselves and it
- 7:28had just been approved by the the group uh those
- 7:33guys actually did fight back uh i think it was
- 7:36is it ronda rousey's mom or holly holmes mom
- 7:40someone's mom who was also a judo person is on
- 7:47that board and really kind of spearheaded it
- 7:49being like there's been so much pushback from
- 7:54fighters from fans from everyone you can't say
- 7:57that we have approved this like it's so not approved
- 8:02so when the group pulled their approval congress
- 8:08did whatever they do they didn't They stopped
- 8:13the vote, I think. Like, they... I don't know
- 8:17how the government works very well, but they
- 8:19said that it needs to be revisited before they
- 8:21vote on it. So it sounds like it was in committee,
- 8:28and it was going to be voted out of committee
- 8:33to go to the floor, but because the... fighters
- 8:39association or whatever said no there's there
- 8:45it's it's gonna stay in committee while it's
- 8:48being reviewed by the fighters association right
- 8:52okay that's much more coherent than what i was
- 8:56saying that's just what it sounds like i'm not
- 8:59a hundred percent if that's what's happening
- 9:03That's my understanding, but like I said, I don't
- 9:05really understand how any government works, especially
- 9:07not the American one. But it's been paused, basically,
- 9:13and it's going for further review, which is good,
- 9:18because as far as I could find, they hadn't actually
- 9:22let any of the fighter representatives read the
- 9:25damn thing before they approved it. I think this
- 9:31is good. And hopefully it just gets fucking axed
- 9:36altogether. Or changed in a way that actually
- 9:39helps fighters. The minimum pays would not be
- 9:42a bad thing. No, that's not bad. If that's all
- 9:45it is. If it gets changed to we're adding minimum
- 9:50pays and some sort of retirement fund or emergency
- 9:55health fund or something, that would be great.
- 9:59But that's not what they're trying to do. I can
- 10:04only hope that this causes the pendulum of the
- 10:09OLLIAC to swing back and start to target MMA
- 10:14fighters as well. And it just completely fucks
- 10:18the UFC up. That would be amazing. Oh, God. I
- 10:21just got a hate boner thinking about that. If
- 10:25the changes actually just become, oh, we're going
- 10:28to make this combat sports and not just boxing
- 10:31and UFC has to have real, like, promoters and
- 10:35managers that are separate people, that would
- 10:38be fucking amazing. Yeah, I think UFC might become
- 10:44a little bit more likable as an organization
- 10:46if they were to work that way. Well, and people
- 10:50would get fucked less. Yeah. Maybe. It's not
- 10:54like people don't get fucked over in boxing either,
- 10:56though, but less. It doesn't seem to happen as
- 11:01badly. Unless you sign with Don King, which is
- 11:05kind of your own fault at this point. Yeah, if
- 11:07you're signing with Don King in the year of our
- 11:10Lord 2025, you need some help. And Don King is
- 11:16not going to give you any. No. Let me skip this
- 11:20Lance Pugmire thing to go to Dana White. It's
- 11:25all connected anyways. Alright, cool. So Dana
- 11:28White has been having a pretty rough week with
- 11:34the media. And it is awesome. Glorious. Absolutely
- 11:41fucking amazing. So So far, my favorite interview,
- 11:47and she will never get an interview again, has
- 11:50been Amber Dixon. And I spelled her name wrong
- 11:52here. It's with an X. She just called Dana White
- 11:59out on all his bullshit. It was great. I haven't
- 12:03been able to find her full interview on its own,
- 12:08but the Pro Box guys, boxing scene, was talking
- 12:12about it on their YouTube channel. And the parts
- 12:16they showed, it was great. She called them out
- 12:19on everything, asked them about how important
- 12:21it is that the OLLI Act get changed so that TKO
- 12:26can get into boxing. And Dana just completely
- 12:28deflected that to look how much money we made
- 12:31with UFC, which is completely unrelated to the
- 12:35fucking question. And then she was talking about
- 12:39fighter pays. asked him why UFC guys get paid
- 12:43so much less, and he's like, well, do they? Do
- 12:47they get paid less? And she's like, I don't know.
- 12:50You guys don't report the pay, and neither does
- 12:52boxing in Nevada anymore. And he's like, well,
- 12:56you can talk to the fighters. You can ask them.
- 12:58I haven't told them they can't talk about it.
- 13:01But he kind of has. Anybody in the UFC who talks
- 13:04about pay and stuff, they just get blackballed.
- 13:07Yeah, they absolutely do. So, yeah, legally they
- 13:11can talk about it, but they know it's going to
- 13:13screw their career. And he was trying to say
- 13:17that, well, we have fighters that make the crazy
- 13:20amounts of money, like Conor McGregor. And Amber
- 13:23Dixon's like, yeah, in a boxing match. Yeah,
- 13:26against Floyd in a boxing match. Yeah. So, great
- 13:30interview. I actually, I knew of Amber Dixon,
- 13:35but I hadn't seen any real clips that made me
- 13:39particularly like her more than other reporters.
- 13:42But I am now a fan because she made Dana White
- 13:45look like an idiot and she didn't back down like
- 13:49some other people do. I am now an Amber Dixon
- 13:52fan. I'm going to play the bit here. I've heard
- 13:58a hundred million. Probably. No one in the UFC
- 14:01has ever made that as a base purse. Conor McGregor?
- 14:04$100 million, but that was against Floyd in a
- 14:07boxing match. That's right. What about Crawford?
- 14:11Oh, man. So she kind of sets him up, too. She
- 14:16says, oh, so Conor McGregor made $100 million.
- 14:20He's like, yep, that's right. Conor McGregor
- 14:22did. And then she said, in a boxing match. Okay,
- 14:25got it. And then he kind of turns a little red.
- 14:30Yeah, you tomato face piece of shit. Yeah. Take
- 14:34that. So that was the first one I saw. But he's
- 14:39been just fucking getting it all week. And they've
- 14:42started banning people from the press conferences
- 14:44already. So boxing scene, Lance Pugmire banned
- 14:49from the press conference. He was given his press
- 14:53passes and everything, and, like, the day before,
- 14:56after he had already flown out, they pulled it.
- 15:01And the Canelo Crawford press conference, a couple
- 15:06people stood up and asked Dana some very, very
- 15:09pointed questions, and he was not happy. I'm
- 15:16loving it. I'm loving that the boxing media isn't
- 15:18just, like, letting everything slide. and kissing
- 15:22his ass yeah i mean there are a few people doing
- 15:26that and it's fucking cringe as hell but yeah
- 15:31like max kellerman i did see his bit at the end
- 15:35where he was just like slurping on dana and turkey
- 15:38oh jesus man what are what are you doing it was
- 15:46fucking bad used to be a voice for the sport
- 15:50And now you're not. I never liked Max Kellerman,
- 15:55and now I actively dislike him. Like, it's getting
- 15:58close to I fucking hate him. He's so not... He
- 16:04has no integrity in his media stuff. He just
- 16:07kisses whoever's ass he's told to. Unlike LVX
- 16:22Media. Yeah, we're called Lux because we are
- 16:28the light in this dark fucking abyss that is
- 16:31boxing media landscape. Very poetic. I'm really
- 16:36good at this. I can tell. Alright, so you got
- 16:47on here Provox. Oh, this was for me for the recaps.
- 16:53Sorry, we don't need to talk about this. Yeah,
- 16:56I kind of guess. That was a whole week ago and
- 16:59I would forget. Well, if that's the case, let's
- 17:07get into the recaps. A few weeks behind. As is
- 17:15our usual, our reviews are always timely. Or
- 17:20our previews are always timely. Me mixing up
- 17:23reviews and previews, the words, is always timely.
- 17:27Because it always happens. Right. So, we're going
- 17:35to reach back to Eye of the Tiger on September
- 17:374th. Did you catch this? I did watch this, yes.
- 17:43Yeah. Oslis. It's two S's. On the Instagram,
- 17:52you were... What did you use to... What did you
- 17:58change his name to? Osley... I glaze his ass.
- 18:03I glaze his ass. Yeah. Oh, that's fun. I was
- 18:11thinking of who is it in the Discord that fucking
- 18:13loves Osleys. Oh, Big Bud, I think. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:19That should be Big Bud's tagline. I'll glaze
- 18:22his ass. He looked pretty damn good. He did look
- 18:28good, actually. We have to do a little glazing.
- 18:31Yeah, he was actually really solid. He was pretty
- 18:35much in control from the very beginning, and
- 18:37it looked like Shishkin kind of quiet quit in
- 18:45round five. Four or five? But, like, Iglesias
- 18:54got him out of there. He might have switched
- 18:57into survival mode, but it didn't work. Yep.
- 19:05Somebody was saying that Shishkin gave William
- 19:09Skull a really hard fight, and so therefore one
- 19:13should be careful about... Betting the house
- 19:16on Iglesias? That was funny. In hindsight. That
- 19:22was not good advice. I have seen a couple people
- 19:27saying because Shishkin had such a good fight
- 19:31with Skull and Iglesias knocked him out that
- 19:34Iglesias should fight Canelo. They're doing the
- 19:39triangle theory of boxing. If Iglesias should
- 19:42fight anybody, it should be Skull. Right now.
- 19:46No. To complete the triangle. Yeah, but nobody
- 19:49wants to see that. No, not at all. It's just
- 19:53triangle theory playing it out to its illogical
- 19:57conclusions. Yeah, I... I don't think Canelo's
- 20:03gonna fight him. But I also don't know if Iglesias
- 20:06is ready for Canelo anyways. I don't think so
- 20:09either. Canelo's... He's a mystery right now.
- 20:14He's been fighting such bad competition. It's
- 20:18hard to tell if he's washed or not. Moving to...
- 20:29Speaking of washed. Yeah, Wasserman at the Three
- 20:34Arena in Dublin, Ireland. Mickey Conlin gets
- 20:37the stoppage in four. Jack Bateson Conlon needs
- 20:44to not box anymore yeah he should promote with
- 20:49his brother and his dad make it a family affair
- 20:55more of a family affair yeah I don't think we
- 21:02can take anything away from this fight like Mickey
- 21:06Conlon still has a glass jaw I for the If you're
- 21:11an audio -only, which that's what this is, this
- 21:13audio -only, I did a big shrug with, like, a
- 21:16snarled lip. Like, meh. As far as, like, what
- 21:22can we take away from this? Yeah. Mickey Conlin
- 21:26still knows how to box, but if he ever gets hit,
- 21:28it's game over. Yeah, if he decides to venture
- 21:33any closer to page one... On BoxRec, then he's
- 21:38going to run into some problems. Yeah. Which
- 21:44is too bad. I wanted Mickey Conlon to be good.
- 21:47I just liked his persona, but... Who was it really
- 21:54cracked him? It was Lee Wood, wasn't it? I think
- 21:56so. Yeah. Moving to ProBox. At the Care First
- 22:08Arena in Washington, D .C. Yeah, okay. This is
- 22:14the one. There was two really weird stoppages.
- 22:19Fuck, and I didn't write down... This is why
- 22:23I tried to take notes and I fucked it up. I know
- 22:26the Sagawa fight was a really weird stoppage
- 22:29where they stopped it in between... The ref stopped
- 22:32it, like, in between rounds, almost. Almost.
- 22:38Well, I mean, kind of technically, the belt had
- 22:42gone. He had been waving it off already. He was
- 22:47actively stepping in to break the fight. Yeah.
- 22:53It was just a bit of a weird stoppage. I don't
- 22:56think it was a bad stoppage. Sagawa was just
- 22:59beating the pants off of that guy. Absolutely.
- 23:03I love Sagawa. I will glaze him all fucking day.
- 23:09I was telling the guys in the Discord that he
- 23:12was fun. And they're like, he's some fucking
- 23:14unknown guy from Uganda? Yeah. And I was like,
- 23:20it doesn't matter. He's fucking entertaining.
- 23:24And I think I made a couple Sagawa fans out of
- 23:28them by the end of that fight. Or he made a couple
- 23:30Sagawa fans by the end of that fight. I'm going
- 23:34to say you did it. It was all me. You primed
- 23:37him. I am his best cheerleader. It was a really
- 23:42fun fight. It was. He's always high action. Good
- 23:47output. great engine and he's everything i like
- 23:51he gets hit so it's exciting i think he's gonna
- 23:55gonna go on the pro box rebuild circuit for a
- 23:59little bit i hope so because he's like you said
- 24:02he's really fun and he seems like he seems like
- 24:05a really good dude so seems like a it would be
- 24:08deserving for him to get get his career rehabbed
- 24:11and then get pushed up to get another title shot
- 24:15Yeah, he is 34, so they can't rehab him for too
- 24:19long. I forgot about that. But I think he would
- 24:28do fine in a world title fight right now. I don't
- 24:33know if he beats. I mean, 126 isn't that deep
- 24:38right now. No, but the top is really heavy. Yeah.
- 24:46I think he'd do fine. I don't know if he could
- 24:49get a belt, but I don't think he would be out
- 24:51of place. If you know what I mean. Yeah. So,
- 24:57Angelo Leo. Leo Sagawa would be a good fight.
- 25:03Yes. Stephen Fulton. He's moving up. But I think
- 25:09he pieces up Sagawa, unfortunately. Yeah. He
- 25:12probably just outboxes him. And Nick Ball? Ball
- 25:20versus Sagawa would be a fucking fireworks fight.
- 25:25Yeah, someone who's going to stand and trade
- 25:27with Nick Ball. That would make it worth his
- 25:31while, I think. And honestly, I don't know who
- 25:35wins that one. I would consider that a pretty
- 25:3850 -50 fight. Wow. That is some faith in Sagawa.
- 25:43You think not? I just don't have as much faith
- 25:45in Nick Ball as everyone else seems to. I don't
- 25:49really either. Where's Drip? We need somebody
- 25:53to sing Nick Ball's praises. We need a ball glazer.
- 26:01That works on multiple levels. Excellent. And
- 26:06Rafaela Spinoza. then no no no that's bad again
- 26:14i i think leo would be a good one yeah i i just
- 26:19think sagawa deserves his shot i think he's he's
- 26:23put in the work who did he get his shot against
- 26:26before carrington and i think he beat bruce carrington
- 26:31yeah because i was gonna i was gonna say i remember
- 26:34it being a really like scrappy fight And if it's
- 26:38Bruce Carrington, I would like for him to lose.
- 26:44Glenn Feldman had it a draw. And the other two
- 26:48had it 97 -93 for Shushu. But I just don't think
- 26:53it was that far. I think Sagawa just... How do
- 27:00I put it? It wasn't a robbery. I think it's just
- 27:03the judges didn't like his style. But it's also
- 27:10Bruce Carrington, New York fighter in New York.
- 27:16Yeah. So I think it was a little bit of home
- 27:20cooking, but not an outright robbery. Yeah. If
- 27:23that makes sense. Yeah, that makes sense. But
- 27:26I think Sagawa looked good in that fight too.
- 27:28I don't think that should really bar him from
- 27:31another chance. Like he didn't look completely
- 27:34outclassed. And that was not for any real titles.
- 27:40It was just for regional stuff. Yeah. I don't
- 27:48know. I'm a fan. Everybody should watch him.
- 27:51Especially when he's free on Probox. But then
- 27:57the main event also had a weird stoppage, didn't
- 28:00it? There was two. Or was it the one before this?
- 28:03Was it Valenzuela? It was not the main event.
- 28:06No, because that went to decision. Okay, the
- 28:09Torres -Cardoso stoppage was also weird. Same
- 28:15sort of thing. It was, like, right at the bell
- 28:19that they waved it off. And, like, not, again,
- 28:25not a bad stoppage, just a weird stoppage. The
- 28:29timing on both of them was pretty strange. Like,
- 28:33they... My memory's so shit. There was a knockdown
- 28:39at the end of the round, and the guy stood up
- 28:42and made the count, and the bell went, and then
- 28:44the ref waved it off. Instead of giving him his
- 28:48one minute in the corner. Yeah, that's right.
- 28:53Now, again, it wasn't a terrible stoppage, but,
- 28:57like, nine times out of ten, they give the guy
- 29:00his minute, let him come out, and then stop it
- 29:03next time he gets knocked down. Yeah. Give them
- 29:07the minute. Yeah, they just... And again, I'm
- 29:11not even particularly mad about the stoppage.
- 29:13It's just weird. And it's weird that they had
- 29:15two at the bell like that in the same card. Back
- 29:19to back. They are in the DC swamp. All sorts
- 29:25of corruption and fuckery going on. I mean, it
- 29:29worked for me because I had Torres in the pick
- 29:31league. Yeah. Pro box is always good. I don't
- 29:40think we've really talked about any super weird
- 29:43decisions and stuff on pro box. No. But these
- 29:47two stoppages were just weird. Again, not even
- 29:49bad, just weird. Yeah, yeah. I don't really have
- 29:56a whole lot to add to it. You described them
- 29:59both pretty perfectly. Like the Sagawa one. It
- 30:05was an almost similar situation, just Sansa knocked
- 30:09down. So I guess that would make it a little
- 30:12stranger without the knockdown beforehand. Yeah,
- 30:21I don't know. Again, they're not bad. I think
- 30:24both those guys were getting stopped anyways,
- 30:26if they let him come back out. But it's just
- 30:29weird that they were both at the bell. Yeah.
- 30:33They did talk, the commentators did talk about
- 30:37how Acosta's corner should have stopped it the
- 30:42round before and stuff. And how the ref was kind
- 30:45of trying to get them to throw in the towel.
- 30:50So maybe that's why he stopped it, because he
- 30:53knew the corner wouldn't. And we've talked about
- 30:55that before, where the fighters have to really
- 30:58trust their corner to save them. So maybe the
- 31:02ref decided that the corner wasn't, yeah, they
- 31:06weren't doing their job properly and he stopped
- 31:09it for them, even though it was a little weird
- 31:11for the ref to stop it. And I'm okay with that.
- 31:15It's just a weird talking point, I guess. Well,
- 31:25in the main event, little, I don't know if this
- 31:28is high strangeness. But the hometown guy loses
- 31:32on points. 95 to 94. So with a knockdown, somebody
- 31:39scored it a fucking draw. I'm not sure what you
- 31:42were watching, Paul Wallace. But that's a pretty
- 31:49rough scorecard to turn in. Yeah, it was not
- 31:54that close. No, not even a little. 96 to 93.
- 31:596 -4 with a KD. Even that feels a little bit
- 32:04closer than it really was. But... But the right
- 32:11guy won in the end, I guess. The takeaway is
- 32:21Pro Box is still good. That was a good card.
- 32:25They had a couple less good cards lately. They're
- 32:28back on the train. Pro box, good. Let's move
- 32:38to match room at the Rainton Meadows Arena. Pat
- 32:44McCormick retires. Miguel Parra. Troy Williamson
- 32:50stops. Mark Dickinson in the ninth. Oh, the retirement
- 32:55was after the ninth, so. Or after the 8th, excuse
- 32:59me. And Sandy Ryan gets a UD. Our boy Cameron
- 33:06Wong gets a scoring referee points decision.
- 33:14I hate that. If you're trying to score in referee,
- 33:19you're doing a shit job of both things usually.
- 33:22Or at least one of those things. It can't be
- 33:28that expensive to pay one judge. To have a single
- 33:32judge instead of a scoring referee. Well, it's
- 33:36the same number of scorecards. Yeah, it is. Like,
- 33:44get some judge practicing. Like a low level.
- 33:49Yeah. And Leo Atang gets a stoppage in one. Congratulations.
- 33:58You get some Leo points. You get to keep the
- 34:02name. You get to keep your name. I have to admit,
- 34:06I didn't watch this card at all. It's fine. You
- 34:10didn't miss a whole lot. Brit Slop, I assume.
- 34:14Yes. This was a Brit Slop. A little disappointed
- 34:20that I assume Para is Mexican. I think so. The
- 34:25Mexican buff didn't work. Or wait, where's McCormick
- 34:30from? Yeah, he's... The Mexican buff didn't work.
- 34:35Yeah, against a very British person. Very British.
- 34:44Let's see. I finally figured out what venue this
- 34:48was at. This was at El Centro de Usos Múltiples.
- 34:55The cum center? The cum center. Oh man, being
- 35:0113 is fun. But this was in Los Mochis. They were
- 35:07very pointedly reminding us. Not related to boxing,
- 35:14but what is Mochis in Spanish? It's not ice cream.
- 35:21It's not the rice dessert? No, it's not. I'm
- 35:27not sure what it is. I think it's the name of
- 35:29a landmark. Does it look like a mochi? I don't
- 35:36know. Anyway. Eduardo Nunez versus Christopher
- 35:45Diaz. Nunez gets the UD in a very tough fight.
- 35:53Yeah, this was a fun fight, actually. Yeah, it
- 35:55was a lot of fun. Very entertaining. The scorecards
- 36:01were crazy wide, I thought. Of course they were.
- 36:06I mean, I guess it was a pretty one -sided fight,
- 36:12but 117 -109 seems quite wide. 117 -109, he got
- 36:21knocked down twice. So in the same round. So
- 36:25that's a 10 -7. So it would be 117 -111. 9 -3
- 36:32though. Either way. Yeah, 9 -3 is a little wide.
- 36:37Seemed wide to me. It was a good fight. It was
- 36:45fun. Who's the other one you have here? I have
- 36:49to look at his picture. Yeah, I need to look
- 36:51at it too, because I'm not remembering who these
- 36:53guys are. Oh, this was the draw. Yes. This was
- 37:06a really fun fight, actually. This was better
- 37:08than the main event. Pedro Guevara split draw
- 37:12with Alexis Molina. I would watch those guys
- 37:20again. They should run it back. Would be a good
- 37:24one. Moving to top rank at the Binational Dome
- 37:32in Nogales. Homecoming fight for Oscar Valdez.
- 37:40He got an easy win. Clean, clear. It was what
- 37:47you'd expect from a homecoming fight. Yeah, Oscar
- 37:53looked good, but probably pretty easy to look
- 37:56good against someone that far below you. Yeah,
- 37:59not so good of opposition. It's, yeah, not that
- 38:04great. Yeah. And to go to a decision with him,
- 38:10too, that's what I thought was weird. It's like,
- 38:12you have the guy clearly outboxed. You have him
- 38:15figured out, so what's your problem? Yeah. I
- 38:21mean, Oscar's getting kind of old, isn't he?
- 38:23Yeah, he's in his 30s, I think. 34. Man. Boxing
- 38:33ancient. I mean, it kind of is, though. Yeah,
- 38:38it really is. But he could keep doing stuff like
- 38:43this, like at this level. I think he could. step
- 38:49up the level a bit still like a little bit i
- 38:53don't think he yeah i don't know about world
- 38:58titles or anything but like he doesn't need to
- 39:01be fighting whatever this guy does for a day
- 39:05job uh who's at his Oh, right. Nunez. They had
- 39:21Navarrete. They had him at the Nunez fight. And
- 39:28they did a little face -off. Oh, right. Yep.
- 39:39Nav's such a weird cat. Quite. I got... In trouble,
- 39:49not in trouble, but people were pushing back
- 39:51in the Discord when I said he dresses so slutty.
- 39:54Oh, I saw that. Nav dresses pretty slutty. He
- 39:59does. I don't know what Isaac was looking at,
- 40:04but Nav is looking like he's on the prowl constantly.
- 40:13Yeah, he has a button -up shirt with only, like,
- 40:16the bottom two buttons. The deep, deep V. Yeah.
- 40:22With the gold chains and the cowboy hats. Come
- 40:27on. And it's always black clothes, which somehow
- 40:31is the sluttiest color for boys. Black or white.
- 40:38It just is. Valdez, keep going, buddy. I mean,
- 40:51you're going to. Yeah, this fight was at 128
- 40:54for some reason. I don't know. I think they gave
- 40:58Medina. Well, I wonder if Valdez is trying to
- 41:04check and see if he can get down to 126 where
- 41:07the competition is maybe not so tough. Maybe
- 41:14not. Maybe I'm reaching. No, I don't think you
- 41:18are. Because he did look a little bit sunken
- 41:23in the face. Yeah, because what does Medina usually
- 41:30fight at? Medina usually fights at 130 as well.
- 41:40So. Between 126 and 130. And 135, actually. He
- 41:49has a few up there. It kind of seems like maybe
- 41:53Oscar was asking for the 128 limit. Maybe. Maybe
- 42:00he is looking to go back down to 126. That would
- 42:02be interesting. That would be... Yeah, that's
- 42:06something to keep an eye on. See what he does
- 42:08next. He hasn't been 126 for a very long time.
- 42:16Maybe if he's looking to not get hit in the face
- 42:18so hard. Yeah, he had a lot of hard fights at
- 42:24130. Yeah. He's not particularly big, Oscar Valdez,
- 42:29but cutting that extra four pounds might be hard.
- 42:37Moving to previews. We've got three. No limit
- 42:49on the 18th. They're doing it on a Thursday this
- 42:53time. Really did me a favor here. Australia,
- 43:00thank you. From the bottom, I only have three
- 43:06that I picked up. Brock Jarvis, quick turnaround.
- 43:10That last fight, he didn't take any. Damage anyways.
- 43:16Might as well. Liam Wilson versus Sandy Tavares.
- 43:26Give me a second here. Alright. It really is
- 43:31a dude named Sandy. That's not that uncommon.
- 43:36I was just thinking about it. There's been a
- 43:39lot of baseball players that have been named
- 43:41Sandy. It's usually short for Alexander. Get
- 43:47shortened to Xander and then Xandy. Xandy, yeah.
- 43:51Okay. Not weird. Just, uh... It is not a lady
- 43:58named Liam. That would be weirder. Yeah. And
- 44:07Liam Paro versus David Papat. Papat, Papo, Papit.
- 44:15Papit, probably. Is he a white guy? Papit. Oh,
- 44:20he's from France, though. Papo. Something lame.
- 44:28These look like kind of walkover fights to me.
- 44:33I don't expect any of the A -sides to lose. No,
- 44:38I don't either. But they look good on paper.
- 44:42Yeah, but the French guys never fought outside
- 44:44of France. Bruno Saras never fought out of France.
- 44:51He fought in the States once and got a split
- 44:55draw. The one time he ventured out of France.
- 45:01I don't see Paro getting Sarast. I don't either.
- 45:06I didn't see Munguia getting Sarast either. And
- 45:10where's Sandy from? He's from the Dominican Republic.
- 45:17Never fought outside Dominican. So. Yeah. I'm
- 45:25expecting A -side wins. Put him down in the pick
- 45:30league. Honestly, I don't know if Vom will even
- 45:35bother with these. I know that Liam Parrow is
- 45:38on there, so maybe the rest are. Fair enough.
- 45:45If there's not much going on, I guess. There's
- 45:50also, on the 20th, Star Boxing. A bunch of shit
- 45:56on here that I don't care about, but Mickey Scala,
- 45:58Arizona fucking prospect. Gotta help. Gotta get
- 46:03my boy's name out there. He's from Mesa. Yep.
- 46:07Not too far from where I live now. He is very
- 46:11done up in his box rec photo. Is he now? He kinda
- 46:18looks... Wow. He looks like a comic book character.
- 46:23Yeah, he really does. He looks like a superhero
- 46:26in a comic book. I guess we're gonna have to
- 46:30cheer for him now. Always have been. Team Scala.
- 46:39Scala. Is he a Scala? I don't know. Stupid joke.
- 46:47Also, Arizona doesn't have a Boston accent, so
- 46:50it doesn't make sense. Did you find a place you
- 46:56can actually watch this one, Leo? Or are we just...
- 46:59It's on the Starboxing website. nice hopefully
- 47:05they don't do another fucking pay -per -view
- 47:07they're not expensive but still like dude why
- 47:11are you doing this this is gross how how much
- 47:14like if it's more than five dollars it's too
- 47:17much it's more than five dollars that's too much
- 47:20yeah i paid for one of them just because i wanted
- 47:22to support but yeah i do like i don't think american
- 47:29um boxing has this set up but I do like that
- 47:34in Japan you can just give them like a donation
- 47:37on their website like when I buy boxing tickets
- 47:43there is a little check box and you can check
- 47:46the box what do they call them an encouragement
- 47:50award and you can just type in whatever amount
- 47:55of encouragement you want to add on to the price
- 47:57of your boxing ticket that's cool Yeah, I think
- 48:03they probably could get some money that way if
- 48:06the Americans did it. I assume it's not a thing,
- 48:12because I've never seen it with any other sport.
- 48:15I have never heard of that before, ever. It's
- 48:20very innocuous. It's not as annoying as the please
- 48:25donate to the starving children at Walmart. It's
- 48:29literally just... as you're scrolling, click
- 48:32the box or don't click the box. I never click
- 48:38the box. I'm too cheap for that. If I'm going
- 48:42to give you money, I want a t -shirt or something.
- 48:44Yeah, I want something in return. Yeah. Moving
- 48:50to Golden Boy. Last thing on our docket here.
- 48:56Best thing of the weekend. Golden Boy on his
- 48:59own. There are two fights on here. There's going
- 49:02to be more, but I haven't seen the fights listed
- 49:05anywhere else. So we've got Gabby Fandora versus
- 49:09Alexis Kubicki. Kubicki? Kubicki. I'm going with
- 49:14that. Undisputed flyweight title. And Oscar Collazo
- 49:22versus Jason Vason. That's his real name. That's
- 49:30crazy. That's how it's spelled. Jason Basin.
- 49:36Guess where he's from. Without looking. Without
- 49:40looking. Who has the weirdest names? Dominican.
- 49:46Cuban. No, good guess. Philippines. Oh. His nickname
- 49:54is Striker. That's a pretty cool nickname. Jason
- 49:57Striker Vason? Yep. He is going to get his ass
- 50:03beat. No fucking way he beats Collazo. I really
- 50:10like Oscar Collazo. Yeah, he's really exciting.
- 50:13I don't think anybody beats him anywhere close
- 50:16to his weight class. Which, honestly, probably
- 50:19isn't even minimum because he is tiny. Koyaso
- 50:29can move up though, couldn't he? He's tiny, tiny,
- 50:33Leo. No. He's 5 '2". He's shorter than I am.
- 50:385 '2". He's tiny, tiny. Like, he looks small
- 50:43in there at 105 pounds. I thought he was taller.
- 50:49He is so small. He is a kidnapping risk. Like,
- 50:56fucking anybody could just grab him and run.
- 51:04I really like him, though. Going back to the
- 51:11Gabi -Fandora fight, I would put money on Fandora
- 51:16KO, actually, if you can get it, because she's
- 51:19fighting some lady from Slave Lake, Alberta.
- 51:24This girl is... a hundred percent like a barista
- 51:29oh oh no i have no idea who she is and she fights
- 51:37in the river cree casino in edmonton like for
- 51:42the last couple years i would put money on a
- 51:48gabby knockout yeah I would put that one even
- 51:55further. The first one to four. Yeah, I don't
- 52:01know. Some of those ladies are pretty tough.
- 52:06But I don't think there's any chance that Gabrielle
- 52:10loses this one. That's all we got on the docket.
- 52:20I think we made good time. Nice. Yeah, I am going
- 52:27to the horse races afterwards. I have realized
- 52:30that gambling alone in your house by yourself
- 52:33is like missing 75 % of the fun. Nothing beats
- 52:40going to a racetrack and standing at the railing
- 52:44and yelling with people. Yelling at horses. At
- 52:46your horse. Yeah, yeah. I'm excited. I am going
- 52:51with a couple friends from here who've never
- 52:54been to the racetrack. They are going to be embarrassed
- 52:57by me, and it's going to be awesome. Kind of
- 53:01hoping I can make some friends, go out for beers
- 53:03afterwards. Racetracks here close at like 5.
- 53:06It's crazy. Let me put some shit in here, because
- 53:11I didn't do it at any other point. The social
- 53:17media handle, LVX Media Net. All one word. Follow
- 53:21that everywhere. If you can't find us, we're

- 53:27helpful. And if you're feeling fucking frisky,
- 53:30a review would be nice. If you have any commentary
- 53:35and you want to get it to us directly, lvx .be

- 53:47anyway. If you go through Patreon, if you join

- 53:56role and you'll bypass a lot of the hazing. That
- 53:59definitely does happen. It's not very nice, and
- 54:04I do absolutely nothing to make it better. I
- 54:09enjoy it. I don't contribute. It's not that bad.
- 54:13It's not that bad. Yeah. I don't know. It can
- 54:17get pretty... Pretty harsh. If you're not an
- 54:20asshole, it's not that bad. Right. You just gotta
- 54:23take your licks. It'll be fine. Yeah. I mean,
- 54:27I think I get more hazing now that I'm not a
- 54:29gray than I did when I was gray. But that's it.
- 54:38That's it for this edition of Boxing Before Dark.
- 54:42My battery is getting low. And it is getting
- 54:45dark. We're fucking out of here. Woo!
