- 0:53Speaker 1: Grow give Prosper as partner with an initial partner with
- 0:56Speaker 1: initiatives like Grow with Google to offer a certifcation scholarships
- 1:01Speaker 1: aiming to enhance career opportunities for underserved communities. Please work
- 1:06Speaker 1: with the Money Making Conversation massac last Cassandra Lester. How
- 1:10Speaker 1: you doing, Cassandra, I'm doing swell. Rashaan, how are you
- 1:13Speaker 1: pretty good? Now let's get this. Give us the name
- 1:17Speaker 1: of your Is it a nonprofit?
- 1:18Speaker 2: It is a nonprofit, Grow, Give, prosper.
- 1:22Speaker 1: How did you come up with that name? You know what?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Actually, because that's what I want to see my community do.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I want us to grow together so that we can
- 1:32Speaker 2: give to each other and then prosper as a collective.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So that's how I came up with that name.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Of How long you long have you had the foundation?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I have been in the financial education since about twenty
- 1:45Speaker 2: seventeen and I started the nonprofit of twenty twenty three.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Okay, cool, So you said financial education. Can you give
- 1:52Speaker 1: us a little of your background from a financial literacy
- 1:55Speaker 1: standpoint before we get into the interview.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Okay, sure. So it all started when I was a
- 2:02Speaker 2: human resource an office manager at a very prominent medical
- 2:07Speaker 2: facility here in the state of Georgia. And one thing
- 2:10Speaker 2: I noticed, from the people who had the PhDs to
- 2:13Speaker 2: the ones who had the GEDs, every time we sat
- 2:16Speaker 2: down to do that tax paperwork, it leveled the playing field.
- 2:20Speaker 2: So that's when I realized that financial education doesn't matter
- 2:25Speaker 2: who you are, what you look like. It's a matter
- 2:28Speaker 2: of accessibility.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I want to tell you, so I have a math degree, Cassandra,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I am scared to death to do my taxes. I
- 2:36Speaker 1: have never in my life the easy form nothing. I've
- 2:40Speaker 1: always paid somebody to do my taxes. So when you
- 2:42Speaker 1: say level the playfield you're talking about, Risha McDonald, I
- 2:46Speaker 1: am a person to go. Can you do my taxes please?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Because I'm confused. So let's talk about you and what
- 2:52Speaker 1: you're trying to do. When you said the word community,
- 2:55Speaker 1: what do you mean when you're a whole you or
- 2:58Speaker 1: referencing When you say the word community.
- 3:00Speaker 2: A community, I'm talking about the people that I encounter
- 3:03Speaker 2: in my daily life walking outside, going to the grocery store,
- 3:08Speaker 2: going to the restaurant, going to the library, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: in my traditional nine to five. These are people who
- 3:15Speaker 2: I consider a part of my community. And what I
- 3:19Speaker 2: realized is that, like I mentioned before, it didn't matter
- 3:22Speaker 2: what their background was, we all had the same struggle
- 3:26Speaker 2: and the difference was that nobody was talking about it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So to me, community is just everybody who has the
- 3:35Speaker 2: same need that needs to get that outreach and to
- 3:38Speaker 2: get that education.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Now, if you're not, if you got like halfway listening
- 3:45Speaker 1: to the show, I want you to stop and focus
- 3:48Speaker 1: on the show because this is the reason, one of
- 3:51Speaker 1: the many reasons I brought her on the show for
- 3:53Speaker 1: this interview her partnership with Grow with Google, that's the
- 3:57Speaker 1: name of it. Grow with Google. Now, Google is what
- 4:01Speaker 1: we're about to concentrate on and what they're doing with
- 4:05Speaker 1: your foundation. Talk to us about what is Grow with Google.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Grow with Google is a tremendous outreach initiative that Google
- 4:17Speaker 2: has delivered to community partners like myself, where we are
- 4:22Speaker 2: delivering career certification scholarships to any and everyone who wants it,
- 4:30Speaker 2: specifically justice impacted, specifically economically impacted communities that may not
- 4:38Speaker 2: have access to that level of education due to financial restraints.
- 4:45Speaker 2: So Google is now saying that, hey, we want to
- 4:48Speaker 2: give you a chance to thrive to So we're going
- 4:51Speaker 2: to give you a chance to get a career certification
- 4:54Speaker 2: entry level into cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing, e commerce,
- 5:02Speaker 2: IT support, project management, or UX design, which is user design,
- 5:07Speaker 2: which is those apps and the websites. So Google is
- 5:10Speaker 2: now leveling the playing field. They're saying, you don't have
- 5:14Speaker 2: to have an ID league education in order to make
- 5:17Speaker 2: an earnable a livable wage.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Now that p on liverable wage, I'm gonna just let
- 5:23Speaker 1: everybody know that. Just go to just go to the internet,
- 5:26Speaker 1: Google indeed and Google salaries of all the job titles
- 5:31Speaker 1: that she listed, you'll see that these are game changing
- 5:34Speaker 1: opportunities that this foundation that Cassandra Lester created, that it's
- 5:40Speaker 1: partnered with Google. And I want to hang on this
- 5:42Speaker 1: for a minute because I don't want to blow past it,
- 5:44Speaker 1: because I want people to be able to reach out
- 5:46Speaker 1: to you. Do you have a website that they can visit?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Certainly if they go to grow with I'm sorry, Grow
- 5:54Speaker 2: give prosper dot org and scroll to the bottom, you're
- 5:58Speaker 2: gonna see the Google scholarship link. And the barrier to
- 6:02Speaker 2: entry is very low. We don't want to make it difficult.
- 6:05Speaker 2: If you have a commitment to yourself and if you
- 6:08Speaker 2: want to increase your earning potential, all you have to
- 6:11Speaker 2: do in the state of Georgia, no matter where you're located,
- 6:15Speaker 2: is go to this website, Grow Give prosper dot org.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Scroll to the bottom, Google certifications, read the information. If
- 6:23Speaker 2: it's what you want for yourself, then enroll and Coursera
- 6:28Speaker 2: is going to send you the link and you can
- 6:30Speaker 2: start learning today.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Now, let's do go over those job opportunities that are
- 6:35Speaker 1: available on your website.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Okay, so cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing, and e commerce
- 6:45Speaker 2: and this I kind of want to just really touch
- 6:47Speaker 2: on them really quickly. Digital markets.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Please do slow it down because I want people to
- 6:51Speaker 1: understand that you know. And let me also say this.
- 6:55Speaker 1: You say the word scholarship. Oh yeah, is there a fee?
- 6:58Speaker 2: No fee, there's no fear. The only fee is that
- 7:01Speaker 2: you have to commit to doing it.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Would you give you s several or job opportunities to
- 7:07Speaker 1: go out there and get in the game, as we say,
- 7:10Speaker 1: get the game and not get left out. And this
- 7:13Speaker 1: is somebody who may be working a blue college, blue
- 7:16Speaker 1: collar job, somebody who may be just have a ged,
- 7:20Speaker 1: somebody who may have a two year degree. This level
- 7:23Speaker 1: is the plan field for anybody that these scholarships that's
- 7:26Speaker 1: being offered through your foundation through Google. And you're saying, Richard,
- 7:31Speaker 1: there's no charge. It's it's based on if you sign up,
- 7:35Speaker 1: please compete it. Please don't just sign up to be
- 7:37Speaker 1: signed up for the first time in your life. Make
- 7:40Speaker 1: an effort to complete something that can change your life. Both.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You know, I'm saying I have a college degree on
- 7:45Speaker 1: my wall, or math degree, and I always tell people
- 7:48Speaker 1: you can't repoll that degree, which means you can't take
- 7:51Speaker 1: that But well, once it's on that wall, you can't
- 7:52Speaker 1: take it back. And it's not like a car, it's
- 7:55Speaker 1: like a house. Once you've been certified a degree that's yours,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and it also gives you a sense of empowerment that
- 8:04Speaker 1: you can change your life in the surroundings around you.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So you go, give us more detail on each one
- 8:09Speaker 1: of these job titles that we're doing with I'm talking
- 8:12Speaker 1: with Cassandra Leicster. Give us your foundation one more time
- 8:15Speaker 1: and your website.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Okay, Growth Gift Prosper and the website is Growth giftprosper
- 8:20Speaker 2: dot org. And I'm going to dive into what Google
- 8:23Speaker 2: certifications are currently available. We have cybersecurity. You know, if
- 8:28Speaker 2: you're the kind of person who wants to be the savior,
- 8:32Speaker 2: you want to be able to come in and you
- 8:34Speaker 2: know throwd all of these or if you want to
- 8:36Speaker 2: be the kind of person who can recognize these attacks
- 8:39Speaker 2: before they happen, cybersecurity is a great field for you
- 8:43Speaker 2: to get into data analytics. If you want to tell
- 8:46Speaker 2: businesses what's trending, where they can find the money. Data
- 8:49Speaker 2: analytics is for you. Digital marketing and e commerce. We're
- 8:54Speaker 2: all over the website. We're all out here shopping online,
- 8:57Speaker 2: digital marketing at e commerce. That's gonna tell you, you
- 9:01Speaker 2: know previously where I said you're gonna show the businesses
- 9:04Speaker 2: where the money where you are the one that's making
- 9:07Speaker 2: the money. You are putting your product or products for
- 9:09Speaker 2: other people online and making it abailt and making it
- 9:12Speaker 2: available for them to purchase it. Support so you can
- 9:17Speaker 2: stack it. Support with cybersecurity. You are providing daily maintenance
- 9:22Speaker 2: to laptops, phones, computers. It support project management. Now, when
- 9:29Speaker 2: I mentioned that you can get several certifications, these are
- 9:33Speaker 2: certifications that you can stack. So can you imagine stacking
- 9:37Speaker 2: project management with a data analytics certification? And then finally
- 9:44Speaker 2: UX design. So when I say that, it may sound
- 9:47Speaker 2: Greek to a lot of people, but think about it.
- 9:50Speaker 2: These apps, Instagram, all the websites that you go to.
- 9:54Speaker 2: UX design means user experience design. You're designing the experience
- 10:00Speaker 2: that the person who's on that app is using. So
- 10:04Speaker 2: I remember one time with my baking app, I had
- 10:08Speaker 2: an issue with getting my password. Every time I would
- 10:11Speaker 2: log out to get the password and come back in,
- 10:13Speaker 2: the app would close. Somebody saw that and they fixed it.
- 10:17Speaker 2: So that's what that user experience design. Along that line,
- 10:21Speaker 2: that's what you would be learning.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Now, let's ask you this, Sandra Cassandra. First of all,
- 10:26Speaker 1: thank you for coming on Money Making Conversation Masterclass. How
- 10:29Speaker 1: have you been This sounds like a program or your
- 10:32Speaker 1: promtation seems to be locked into Google and providing dream
- 10:37Speaker 1: like opportunities for people who can get these scholarships by
- 10:41Speaker 1: going on to your website. How are you promote this
- 10:44Speaker 1: or how are you spreading the word?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Mister rauchhand you know I'm country, mister rashand I am
- 10:48Speaker 2: boats on the ground. We are out here, grassroots. We
- 10:52Speaker 2: are going to every community center that's local. We are
- 10:57Speaker 2: going to the adult education class. Is I am on
- 11:01Speaker 2: social media pushing this information out? I mean any and
- 11:05Speaker 2: everybody that will hear me. I'm trying to shout it
- 11:07Speaker 2: from the grooftops to let them know you don't want
- 11:09Speaker 2: to miss this.
- 11:10Speaker 1: You don't want to.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Miss this opportunity to increase your earning potential. So I'm
- 11:15Speaker 2: literally out here getting in my car I call a pearl,
- 11:19Speaker 2: Me and Pearl, driving up and down these highways, trying
- 11:21Speaker 2: to get to every adult education class that we can
- 11:23Speaker 2: get to to tell these folks you need to sign up.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Okayfore we talk about the classes you're seeing. So if
- 11:29Speaker 1: someone in New York, someone in Chicago, someone in Los Angeles,
- 11:33Speaker 1: someone in Houston or Dallas, they can register.
- 11:36Speaker 2: They can. You have to be Continental US. And you know,
- 11:40Speaker 2: of course Google is gonna know if you're logging in
- 11:42Speaker 2: from outside the US. But Continental US and what I
- 11:46Speaker 2: tell you, they were generous, Like I gave myself a
- 11:49Speaker 2: pat on the back because I wrote that letter. Do
- 11:51Speaker 2: you hear me? They gave me over three hundred scholarships,
- 11:56Speaker 2: so I'm ready to deliver it to the community.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Okay. Cool. And so you have three other scholarships available, yes, nationwide. Yes,
- 12:05Speaker 1: all individuals can do that. No charge, Jesus scholarships. Correct,
- 12:10Speaker 1: three to six months worth of online training, but opportunity
- 12:14Speaker 1: to change your life. Your life, and you're doing the
- 12:17Speaker 1: boots on the ground. Now you don't money, make conversations masterclass.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Now we're about to We're going worldwide with you domestic US,
- 12:24Speaker 1: Continental in USA opportunities to register. Now, let's talk about you,
- 12:30Speaker 1: said Rashelle, you and PEERL that's the name of her
- 12:32Speaker 1: vehicle going up and down the road. When you go
- 12:35Speaker 1: in these classes, what has been the reaction or have
- 12:37Speaker 1: you been disappointed in the reaction?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Actually, I am being well received. The program is being
- 12:44Speaker 2: well received. The thing about it is that you are changing.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I'm changing minds. People are, you know, thinking that I'll
- 12:52Speaker 2: never be able to get out of the situation. I'm
- 12:55Speaker 2: robbing Peter to pay Paul and when they realize that
- 12:58Speaker 2: you have an opportunity. And what I wanted to do
- 13:01Speaker 2: was be credible. So I did some vetting on the
- 13:04Speaker 2: back end, and I asked people who are in hiring
- 13:08Speaker 2: positions in it. Would you hire somebody with a GED
- 13:12Speaker 2: and a Google certification. A couple of people told me
- 13:16Speaker 2: who graduated college with a master's degree. He said they
- 13:21Speaker 2: lost out on their first job because they didn't have
- 13:24Speaker 2: a certification to a person who did. So it's valid,
- 13:28Speaker 2: it's legitimate. And the people that I meet, they are overjoyed.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Some of them might be a little skeptical at first,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but once they realized that it's legitimate. I initially had
- 13:40Speaker 2: about five hundred scholarships, so we've had so many people
- 13:45Speaker 2: to enroll that now that number has went down.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 13:50Speaker 1: money Making Conversations Masterclass. No need for you to do
- 13:54Speaker 1: me a favor right now to follow or subscribe to

- 14:01Speaker 1: on the iHeartRadio app, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
- 14:06Speaker 1: get your podcasts. Please do me that favor, follow a
- 14:09Speaker 1: subscribe money Making Conversations. Welcome back to Money Making Conversations
- 14:17Speaker 1: master Class hosted by me Rashaan McDonald. Money Making Conversation
- 14:21Speaker 1: master Class continues online at Moneymaking Conversations dot com and
- 14:25Speaker 1: follow money Making Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, x and Instagram.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You're being able to create that are being brought into
- 14:33Speaker 1: our community, that is leveling the playing field, and by
- 14:38Speaker 1: earning this opportunity to get certified that they can get
- 14:41Speaker 1: a job, a career, a career. Thank you very much.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Excuse me for saying that. Now, let's talk about a
- 14:48Speaker 1: little bit more about you, because I wanted to get
- 14:51Speaker 1: that out at the top of the conversation because I
- 14:53Speaker 1: wanted people to hear exactly the opportunity that your foundation
- 14:58Speaker 1: brings to the table and is chain lives the importance
- 15:01Speaker 1: of financial literacy. That's a financial literacy is a huge
- 15:06Speaker 1: buzzword in the community. What does financial literacy mean to you?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Financial literacy means to me that you understand the words,
- 15:16Speaker 2: You hear the conversation and it's not Greek to you.
- 15:19Speaker 2: You have tools that you can use to manage your
- 15:23Speaker 2: expenses on a daily basis, that you understand how this
- 15:27Speaker 2: applies to you. I heard a song from one of
- 15:32Speaker 2: our famous young female rappers who says that she doesn't
- 15:36Speaker 2: give an f about a credit score. I'm sure she's
- 15:39Speaker 2: changed her mind since then because she's realized. She's realized
- 15:44Speaker 2: that you better care about that credit score because that's
- 15:47Speaker 2: going to make the difference in your borrowing potential and
- 15:50Speaker 2: how much money you have to pay back. So financial
- 15:53Speaker 2: literacy means that we understand the conversation and we know
- 15:57Speaker 2: what it means and how it applies to our daily lives.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So what's a misconception, Like you said, you have a
- 16:03Speaker 1: rapper out there talking to the generation of people telling
- 16:07Speaker 1: them don't care about the credits cade what you and
- 16:10Speaker 1: I know that's a value. That's a value proposition. To
- 16:13Speaker 1: have your credits code anywhere above seven hundred you get
- 16:16Speaker 1: in an eight hundred, you in as they say, platinum,
- 16:19Speaker 1: platinum zone. There. Absolutely, I'm talking to Cassandra Lester her
- 16:23Speaker 1: foundation Grow excuse me, Grow Give Prosper as partner with
- 16:28Speaker 1: initiatives like Grow with Google to offer certifications, scholarships aim
- 16:32Speaker 1: to enhance career opportunities for underserved communities. So would you
- 16:37Speaker 1: say that's your that's your mission.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Absolutely, yes, it is. That's my mission. And a lot
- 16:45Speaker 2: of people know me, they kind of because I'll go
- 16:47Speaker 2: off on a tangent in a minute, you know, I'll
- 16:49Speaker 2: start talking about you know, protection, I'll start talking about
- 16:53Speaker 2: ways to increase your earning potential. Well, first of all,
- 16:56Speaker 2: I'm passionate. I don't go I do workshops month and
- 17:02Speaker 2: when I go into these workshops, I'm not just doing
- 17:04Speaker 2: a lecture. I'm really connecting with my audience and I
- 17:07Speaker 2: want them to feel why I'm so passionate behind it.
- 17:11Speaker 2: So I'm not just sitting up there reading a paper.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm really talking to my audience. I'm asking them questions,
- 17:16Speaker 2: you know, and the green doesn't hurt, but definitely I
- 17:20Speaker 2: left and I left out of one workshop and I
- 17:23Speaker 2: was like, dang, I feel like I was in the
- 17:25Speaker 2: pulpit because I really engage with my community partners when
- 17:30Speaker 2: they invite me into these sessions. I talk to these
- 17:32Speaker 2: people like their life depends on it.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Well, you know, I'm going to tell you something. I
- 17:37Speaker 1: want to come to one of your sessions. I want
- 17:39Speaker 1: to be with you one time because I am all
- 17:42Speaker 1: about changing people's lives. And this is not I'm not
- 17:47Speaker 1: charging you anything. This is money making conversation masterless. All
- 17:50Speaker 1: it's all about if I can use my brand like
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'm using my brand of this show to let everybody
- 17:56Speaker 1: know about these career changing opportunities with these Google scholars
- 18:00Speaker 1: And all they have to do is visit your website
- 18:03Speaker 1: to register. They have a time commitment three to six months,
- 18:07Speaker 1: because each certification or scholarship has a time period of
- 18:11Speaker 1: commitment you have to do to become qualified and earn
- 18:14Speaker 1: the scholarships. That's what we're talking about, and I'm just
- 18:17Speaker 1: talking to everybody in general. This is not tied to
- 18:20Speaker 1: a degree person. This is not tied to a person
- 18:23Speaker 1: who feels they are they can't qualify, if you have
- 18:26Speaker 1: a ged, if you ever if you didn't finish draw college,
- 18:30Speaker 1: drop out, the high school graduate, anybody who's doing the
- 18:34Speaker 1: job that you're not happy with this interview is something
- 18:37Speaker 1: or you have a relative, it's your husband, your wife,
- 18:40Speaker 1: your partner, your son, your daughter, your cousin, your nephew.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Tell them, look, don't give up. If you want to
- 18:48Speaker 1: change your life. That's what your foundation is all about,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and that's what you're doing. You're trying to really get
- 18:55Speaker 1: them into the financial literacy conversation. Correct, Cassandra, I am.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I am, because we lose so much money doing you know,
- 19:02Speaker 2: going to predatory lending options. So it's a vicious cycle
- 19:07Speaker 2: once you get in. But once you understand where you
- 19:09Speaker 2: went wrong or where you have been misled, then you
- 19:12Speaker 2: can understand where you need to make those corrections and
- 19:15Speaker 2: move forward toward a more positive outcome.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Well, you know, the think about it is that just
- 19:21Speaker 1: because you want to do good does not mean everybody
- 19:25Speaker 1: want you to do good. A position you to do good.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Ands Andrew, you know, I've been frustrated in my life
- 19:32Speaker 1: because I try to bring individuals like you on my show.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you you're cheerleader for change, tell us
- 19:41Speaker 1: some of the roadblocks that you've had to hopover, going
- 19:45Speaker 1: around or run over to have an interview like this
- 19:49Speaker 1: on this show. Wow.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Some of the roadblocks just encountering people who minimize the
- 19:59Speaker 2: impact of obtaining financial literacy. And the very first workshop
- 20:05Speaker 2: I held, I asked them, why don't you want to
- 20:08Speaker 2: talk about this? And a couple of them, I don't
- 20:12Speaker 2: want you in my pocket. This is my business. You
- 20:15Speaker 2: know what you're talking about ain't gonna help me. And
- 20:18Speaker 2: then also just you know, the community as a whole,
- 20:22Speaker 2: certain demographics don't like to talk about money. They feel
- 20:27Speaker 2: like it's intrusive. And then also because I am a
- 20:31Speaker 2: small nonprofit, a lot of times I'm not taken seriously
- 20:34Speaker 2: by some of the bigger ones. I remember one time
- 20:37Speaker 2: I went to apply for a grant and I saw
- 20:40Speaker 2: one of my constituents apply for the same grant and
- 20:44Speaker 2: they got the grant and they told me, oh, sorry,
- 20:47Speaker 2: we don't do that. And I was like, but I
- 20:48Speaker 2: just said, you give her like ten thousand dollars. So
- 20:55Speaker 2: you know, but despite it all, and I'm going to
- 20:57Speaker 2: tell you something, I quit every day and then I'll
- 21:00Speaker 2: get a phone calls like mister Sandra, are you coming
- 21:02Speaker 2: to the center this weekend? Are you coming on Saturday? Okay,
- 21:05Speaker 2: I'll be back down there.
- 21:06Speaker 1: It don't take me long to preach, and then it
- 21:09Speaker 1: will not take me long to be able to tell
- 21:10Speaker 1: these people this side all things. In my degree in
- 21:13Speaker 1: math manager, my minder was in sociology and computer science,
- 21:17Speaker 1: so I'm a computer sjuduscience nerd. I were in college,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I almost went and got my degree in mis management
- 21:23Speaker 1: information system So I've always been a person that's aware
- 21:27Speaker 1: of data management and data security. Now, with that being said,
- 21:33Speaker 1: let's tell everybody. Google didn't come to you.
- 21:37Speaker 2: The relationship started because I'm out here for my people.
- 21:40Speaker 2: You know, you have a person that understands how important
- 21:43Speaker 2: this is. And even though some people may not quite
- 21:45Speaker 2: get it yet, that's not going to stop me from
- 21:47Speaker 2: trying to get stuff that's going to be good for them.
- 21:50Speaker 2: So I actually was using Google for a different capacity
- 21:55Speaker 2: and then I was on a webinar and they were
- 21:59Speaker 2: just talking about some of the other products that were offered,
- 22:02Speaker 2: and they you know, it's certain requirements that had to
- 22:04Speaker 2: be met, and they were like, if you want to
- 22:07Speaker 2: offer these scholarships to your community to help your community
- 22:11Speaker 2: increase their earning potential. And I'm going to repeat something
- 22:14Speaker 2: that I said earlier, justice impacted communities, low income communities.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Google is intentionally looking to seek these communities to give
- 22:26Speaker 2: them an opportunity to level up if you will. So
- 22:29Speaker 2: once I heard that, I said, this is what we need,
- 22:32Speaker 2: you know, because you can't talk about managing finances if
- 22:37Speaker 2: you really don't have anything coming in. You know, it's possible,
- 22:41Speaker 2: but ultimately being able to earn a living is the
- 22:45Speaker 2: first pillar in financial literacy increasing your earning potential. So
- 22:51Speaker 2: when I heard that that was an opportunity, I jumped
- 22:54Speaker 2: on it. I you know, like I was obsessed.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I was.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I wrote three, four, five different and you know pitches,
- 23:01Speaker 2: and finally I settled on one. I submitted it, and
- 23:05Speaker 2: it seemed like forever getting the word back. And then
- 23:07Speaker 2: when I got the word back, they were like, you're
- 23:09Speaker 2: approved and you know, this is what and this is
- 23:11Speaker 2: how it goes and good luck. And I was like, wow,
- 23:14Speaker 2: thank you, you know.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Well, thank you, thank you for coming on my show,
